- 0:00[SPEAKER_01]: Hey everybody, welcome to our What episode are we on Chris?
- 0:04[SPEAKER_01]: episode 21 episode 21 So in four years we'll be our 25th anniversary Which I believe is silver is that is an Avarmath?
- 0:15[SPEAKER_00]: What the hell is that?
- 0:16[SPEAKER_01]: 25th anniversary how?
- 0:21[SPEAKER_01]: 25 episodes.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god, okay?
- 0:25[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, okay
- 0:27[SPEAKER_00]: But when somebody thinks of 25th anniversary, they don't think of like episodes, they think of years.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_01]: Well, obviously, I am more invested in this relationship than you.
- 0:36[SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
- 0:36[SPEAKER_01]: That says a lot right there.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_00]: Where's your holiday spirit?
- 0:40[SPEAKER_01]: It's gone.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it's gone.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_00]: You had it all for last episode or no.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_00]: It's gone.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_01]: It's not a hopeless week.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_01]: That's right.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_00]: All right, there you go.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_00]: That's fair enough.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_01]: All right, so today we're not going to preview any thing, because we're taking a couple of weeks off.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_00]: Well, we won't preview anything.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_00]: Well, OK, we will talk about the movies that are coming out.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_00]: OK, but we're not going to be.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_00]: We're not going to talk about what movie we're going to review.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_01]: Great.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_00]: Because there's going to be two or weeks before we have the next episode.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_00]: So I think what we'll do for the next episode is, why don't we work on
- 1:16[SPEAKER_00]: We talked about doing this a while ago, so we talked about doing like the stuff we want to do.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_00]: Why do we make the first episode when we come back the wrong casting episode?
- 1:24[SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah, I think that would be a great way to start the season.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the mind jumps right to the top of my head.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so a lot of people may not know it, but they can look it up and see if I'm right or wrong.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_00]: So first episode of 2026 will be wrong castings, wrong castings, and or wrong directors.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, just wrong anything.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_01]: Can we do, can we make a combo?
- 1:45[SPEAKER_01]: Oh no, just wrong castings.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_00]: What do you want?
- 1:46[SPEAKER_00]: What do you want?
- 1:47[SPEAKER_00]: What do you want?
- 1:47[SPEAKER_01]: What do you want?
- 1:48[SPEAKER_01]: I was going to say, people who were, uh,
- 1:52[SPEAKER_01]: Typecast to the point where they couldn't work in a mood to that one.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's a separate episode I think we separate episode.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's a separate that's guessing is a separate episode Sure, because there's a whole bunch of those guys wrong casting will be what we do for the first week official week in January Of 2020 saying okay, but this episode this episode We decided to take a look at a home movie came out in that fix
- 2:15[SPEAKER_00]: Friday last week.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_00]: Friday.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_00]: Correct.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_00]: And it was, you really can't call this movie a trilogy per se.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_00]: No, it's not.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_00]: Because even though their knives out movies, they're on different.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_00]: Spoiler alert, they're not the same.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_00]: They're on different.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_00]: And if that's, if, if somebody thinks if that's a huge spoiler, well, you know what I say about that.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_01]: That's why it's only one recurring character.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, and it's unlike not unlike other Mystery series.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_00]: Well, yeah, because you've got an uh that's why you got acuparole in I don't want to give it away, but I get the Christie.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I'm sorry.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_00]: That's giving it away.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_00]: Well, you kind of acuparole from like like a hundred years ago
- 2:58[SPEAKER_00]: and then Sherlock Holmes, like, you know, so the great detectives of all prime guests, uh, but yeah, we'll we'll talk about, uh, knives out wake up dead man.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_00]: A knives out mystery is a name of it.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_00]: Week, uh, it is available on Netflix.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_00]: The one before it is also available on Netflix, but unfortunately, the original knives out is not available streaming that I saw.
- 3:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no, the first one I tried to find the two because I wanted to just recap.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_01]: I couldn't find it.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's what I was looking to do.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, let me recap because it's been a while since the first one came out from one to two.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_00]: It took a while.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_00]: Correct.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_00]: And then I think the last one, I think that's out too.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_00]: That's not what it's called, but that came out like a year ago.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_00]: I think.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yes.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_01]: About a year.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_00]: So before we dive into that let's talk about the movies that are coming out this weekend in case there's something you want to check out I know you had mentioned this one last weekend.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_00]: Did I?
- 3:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, you did the blue guys
- 3:48[SPEAKER_00]: the flying over the beaches and the sands and all that kind of stuff.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_00]: Like it sort of rhymes with your first name.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, the Avatar.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_00]: There you go.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_00]: Avatar fire and action.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_00]: That's my cousin.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_00]: It's always a cousin.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, okay.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_01]: Alright.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_01]: My cousin is named Avatar.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_00]: The story evolves as we get going.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_00]: I see how it works.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so Avatar.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_01]: My mom was very imaginative.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, that's not the story.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_00]: You don't last week, but okay.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, Avatar Fire and Ash finally comes out.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_00]: Are you gonna go see it?
- 4:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, okay.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_01]: I am.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_01]: I like the Avatar movies.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_01]: You know, they're great.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_01]: Just check your brain at the door movie.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, all right, I can agree with this.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_00]: I can agree with that because there's to me after I saw the first Avatar I was like, yeah, I don't see need to see another one of these.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_00]: Although I will say this.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_00]: The avatar pinball game that's out there from New Jersey Jack pinball is actually really good
- 4:45[SPEAKER_00]: So, do you know there was one?
- 4:46[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_00]: There is.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_00]: There's also the disier that came out with a Harry Potter pinball machine as well, which is a lot of fun too.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of weird places for the ball to kind of like just magically disappear and then reappears somewhere else.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_00]: It's a lot of fun.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_01]: I've watched Harry Potter, but I'm not a huge super big fan.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_01]: Like I could not watch it.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_01]: Have you seen all of them?
- 5:05[SPEAKER_01]: I've seen almost all of them.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, not seen all of them, but you know, kid with round glasses Okay, and with round glasses.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_00]: Wow, and a Mark above his forehead.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, lightning isn't a lightning boat.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_01]: It's a lightning boat.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_01]: See, I know Harry Potter.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_01]: I know my Harry Potter Harry Potter, Harry Harry Potter, Harry Potter.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, okay
- 5:28[SPEAKER_01]: all right so knives out no David is also coming out this week David yes that's the animated no no here's an animated David
- 5:39[SPEAKER_00]: Well, yes, but it's not coming out this week, I think that's been out already.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_01]: I could be wrong though Which David are you talking about?
- 5:46[SPEAKER_00]: So this is a story about a kingdom torn by fear and corruption a Shepard boy is called the stand against a giant and the darkness behind him Sounds like David and Goliath right David and Goliath.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I don't think it's a cartoon though It doesn't look like it's a cartoon
- 6:00[SPEAKER_00]: I thought it was.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_01]: You might want to look that one up.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_00]: It is a cartoon.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_00]: You're my bad.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so see this is what happens when you just click on something and you don't look at the full thing.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_00]: You're absolutely right.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_00]: It's an animated movie.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_00]: Looks like it's all computer animated.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_01]: I kind of thought it was, but.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_00]: You're right, my bad, great story.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_00]: It's not one of those movies I was absolutely interested in because I just kind of went, okay, I mean, it's a great story.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, the I'd versus evil, big versus small tall in there.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I'm not saying that's not a, that's not a good story.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just saying it just did hit the radar for me, because I don't know, because I don't know why.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, I just don't know.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_00]: I'm failing, I guess, anyway.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_01]: I went to Kath that's good for eight years straight, so I know you got a slap of the ruler.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to get hit with a yardstick.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_00]: And then two other movies coming out this weekend.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_00]: This one's animated for sure.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_00]: I know that.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_00]: The SpongeBob movie search for square pants.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_00]: You'll probably go see that one.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_00]: Probably not.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_00]: They're not square pants fans.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_00]: They are.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, let's kind you're all the line at grandpa time You draw the line in certain things.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_01]: I draw the line with a sponge living in the sea on the wear There has to be a line.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_00]: There's square pants.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_01]: I know I just okay.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_00]: I I'm No appeal no worries and then the movie that I'm the most interested in going to see this weekend the house made
- 7:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you know, that's, to me, a remake of, uh, when the, when the hand rocks to cradle.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_00]: I can see that.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_01]: I don't, you know, I don't see any reason that go see it and, and as in a side, the characters, the actors who played in that movie were on family
- 7:53[SPEAKER_01]: on there that that are in the movie that play the two main characters are you talking about the house later you talking about the housemate okay so this was I was this must have been a Steve Harvey version of that was a Steve Harvey celebrity family feud and it was them against uh the uh I don't know bunch of housewives from New Jersey and all I'm like the celebrity all star housewives however you can make that work okay uh and anyway the two women
- 8:22[SPEAKER_00]: Were there any other cast members from the house made?
- 8:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they were all there.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, and the director.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry, the director was there too.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_00]: Other than Sydney, Swenie, and Amanda Seinfeld?
- 8:31[SPEAKER_00]: The wife?
- 8:32[SPEAKER_00]: The wife?
- 8:33[SPEAKER_00]: Sea-free?
- 8:34[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_00]: Amanda, Sea-free?
- 8:36[SPEAKER_00]: That her?
- 8:37[SPEAKER_00]: Those are the two lead females in that movie.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, if you say we want to go review it, I'll go see it.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm not.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_01]: I think the hand that rocks to Cradle was probably a better movie with Rebecca Demone.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_00]: The movie properly will no longer be in the interview run.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think it's going to last two weeks.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_00]: And actually, technically, we need to ask the last three weeks in order to be able to review it.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_01]: So we probably don't want to review like the 10 commandments with Charlton Hustonese because that's kind of already they did.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, in the macro.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_01]: And there are other people listening to the show right now going, Oh my god, I forgot to watch it at Easter.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah, exactly.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_00]: I was gonna say we're getting a huge Catholic dose right here.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_00]: For those of you that are Catholic, please don't feel any guilt from his last previous message.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_01]: Make a sign of the cross.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_01]: Three Hellmares to our fathers.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_01]: would $5.00 in the collection basket.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_00]: Make sure you get your rosary beads anyway.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_00]: Can you tell I'm not Catholic anyway?
- 9:35[SPEAKER_00]: All right, so yeah, those are the movies that are coming out this week.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_00]: Like I said, the housemates, the only one that I'm fairly interested in, but I mean, I'll wait till it comes out on video.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, can we say that anymore?
- 9:45[SPEAKER_00]: No, we can't because they don't actually come out on video.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_01]: They come out on streaming now, yeah.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_00]: Or Blu-ray, if you still remember.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you can buy a DVD still of a movie, I think.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but it's not video.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_00]: It's not, it's not technically video, right?
- 9:59[SPEAKER_00]: Because the video tape is what it was all about.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, it doesn't matter where old we are.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_00]: I remember Blockbuster.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_00]: I remember going, I remember Blockbuster V in the weekend thing.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I go back before that.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_01]: I remember film strips and grammar school.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_01]: There you go.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_01]: That came with a record and actual LP.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, wow.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_01]: That had a beep at the end of each sentence.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_01]: So the kid, the kid, the geeky kid in school who was running the projector in the film strip when he heard the beep, he would hit the move the next film strip on.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, wow.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_00]: I go way back.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_00]: You go way back.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_00]: Well, the good thing is we don't have to go way back for this week's review.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_00]: We're talking about wake up dead man.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_00]: A knives out mystery the third the third movie available on Netflix streaming on Netflix pretty much everywhere.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_00]: You can get Netflix as far as I'm concerned.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think there was any place that I heard that it wasn't being available.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_01]: No, so the weird thing like we mentioned earlier was that you could see two and three, but you couldn't see one.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_00]: And we have to be very careful, audience members have said no spoilers because they haven't seen me yet, so we'll be hearing that from one one listener in particular, right?
- 11:05[SPEAKER_00]: We won't tell you about the monk that's in and what was it?
- 11:08[SPEAKER_01]: The bell-by, the bell-by, the bell-by, the bell-by, the bell-by, the bell-by, the bell-by, the bell-by, the bell-by, the bell-by, the bell-by, the bell-by, the bell-by, the bell-by, the bell-by, the bell-by, the bell-by, the bell-by, the bell-by, the bell-by, the bell-by, the bell-by, the bell-by, the bell-by, the bell-by, the bell-by, the bell-by, the bell-by, the bell-by, the bell-by, the bell-by, the bell-by, the bell-by
- 11:25[SPEAKER_00]: So, what did you think of wake-up dead man?
- 11:28[SPEAKER_01]: I gave it a 7.5.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_01]: Oh wow, okay.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_01]: Not as good as the first one, by any stretch, in my opinion.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think the second one was as good as the first one.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to make a confession back to Catholics again and say that I that's kind of the second one Oh, you did not see this.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_01]: I've not seen the second one.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_00]: So okay, so you have much to compare to no First one right but the first one was excellent I thought the second one was pretty good to the second one was about a billionaire don't give anything away
- 12:00[SPEAKER_00]: Second one's been out for like two years now.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_00]: If this individual said don't give anything way as a but hurt about me giving something way for the second nimes out.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_01]: You have to remember.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_01]: You've got that individual business.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_01]: He's hardly ever home the watch anything.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_00]: So if he hasn't seen the second nimes out yet, then that's his fault.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_01]: I agree.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_00]: But I've almost two years now.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_00]: And that person needs to get with the program anyway.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_01]: And we won't mention his name, but he knows who he is.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, we won't.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_00]: Although, I just almost did.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, so it's a billionaire invite all of his friends out to have like this blank island that he has.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_00]: And then the mystery ensues there.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_00]: So it's like clue.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_00]: It told all of these are like clue.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_00]: Well, no.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_00]: clue is great.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_00]: clue is great.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_00]: The game, I would be talking about the game where you're talking about the movie.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_00]: The movie.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, okay.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_01]: The movie clue.
- 12:48[SPEAKER_01]: I go watch that every week.
- 12:50[SPEAKER_01]: It's just a fun movie with Peter Falk and everybody in there.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, the lines in there, the characters, the casting was great, Les Nianne Warren.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_01]: I hate it.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_00]: Are you giving away one of your Miss Favorite Mr. Movies of all time already?
- 13:03[SPEAKER_00]: Not yet.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, okay.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_00]: But maybe I thought could might be on your list.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_00]: I thought it might have been a runner up.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_00]: It says like, you sure you want to go this route?
- 13:12[SPEAKER_00]: I haven't scrolled down yet, but it might be.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_00]: It's looking at his nose.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_00]: OK.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_00]: So anyway, I wake up that man and I was out mystery.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_00]: What did you think you said?
- 13:20[SPEAKER_00]: You didn't, you gave it a 7.5, right?
- 13:22[SPEAKER_01]: I get, I'd watch it again.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_01]: I go to watch it again.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_01]: Not right away, but I'd watch it again.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_01]: What I like.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_01]: I thought the casting was really good.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_01]: I thought Josh Brolin, Jeremy Renner, a Joshua Conner as the young priest.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_01]: And Daniel Craig, I've been a fan of Daniel Craig since he took over the James Bond.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_01]: So my James Bond's are Sean Connery, Daniel Craig.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_01]: I think when he got, when he, he wanted to get out of that, I think, and I think these movies are given them a really good way to show a lot more depth as an actor.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_01]: In each time, like the first one I thought he did with this one, I thought he did even a little bit better.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_01]: I haven't seen the second one, but this one I thought he got out of that James Bond character.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_01]: Even better for sure.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_01]: So I really liked that.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_01]: Jamie Render was really great to see Jamie Render.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_01]: I think this was a movie after his accident that from numbers take it.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_01]: And so it's great to see, I love Jeremy Runner.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_01]: He's been in a bunch of other things I like to.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_00]: He's a huge rock I fan, by the way.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_01]: I thought the writing was fun.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, you missed somebody.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_00]: Ooh, you missed a huge a-lister.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think so.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, Glenn closed.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_01]: Glenn close.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_01]: She's on my legs.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't get to her.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I'm sorry.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_00]: I thought you were listing them all to begin with.
- 14:37[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't know this was a quiz.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_00]: You were going through the list.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_01]: Glenn closed played a great role.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_01]: It's been kind of understated for her.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_01]: It's been a while since she's been in a movie.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_01]: It's been a while since she boiled a rabbit.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, I thought the writing was fun.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_01]: The directing was fast-paced.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_01]: I kind of figured out the ending.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_01]: I figured out who did it, but I didn't know.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_01]: There was another part too it that I didn't get.
- 15:04[SPEAKER_01]: So I won't give it away.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_01]: But I did figure out the ending before it ended.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_01]: But as I said, I gave it a 7.5.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_01]: And I would watch it again.
- 15:14[SPEAKER_01]: In fact, I probably will watch it again after I watch the second one.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_01]: And the first one.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_01]: include.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_00]: But any in in in those orders?
- 15:26[SPEAKER_01]: Probably clue first clue first.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_00]: So you can get a clue.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_00]: I can get a clue and then you can watch knives.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_00]: Then you can watch them all like back to back to back in a row one two and three.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_01]: That would be nice.
- 15:38[SPEAKER_00]: There you go.
- 15:38[SPEAKER_01]: I'd love to but you can't get one anywhere.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, we ones on prime, I think ones on prime.
- 15:44[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 15:45[SPEAKER_01]: I think ones on prime.
- 15:47[SPEAKER_00]: That was the only place I didn't look so if it's on prime then that's on me and I apologize that is on you because I did not look at prime.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_00]: I tend not to look at prime because I don't know what it is and maybe I'm just wrong here, but prime is not as good as it used to be.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_00]: No, sadly, it's not.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_00]: And so that's to me, I guess that's why I always miss it.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_00]: I always kind of just go, oh yeah, that's funny because Wicked was on Prime.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_00]: We talked about it a couple weeks ago.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_00]: And I didn't even notice that it was on Prime until I used my little thing you write.
- 16:19[SPEAKER_00]: It is on Prime Video.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm sorry, we are wrong.
- 16:21[SPEAKER_00]: You can see that.
- 16:22[SPEAKER_00]: No, we.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_00]: You said you didn't think it was available anywhere.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_00]: And now you're changing your story.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_01]: No, look at you trying to bring one What I said was that it wasn't that one wasn't on Netflix with two and three You said it wasn't available anywhere.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean you agree to it.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_00]: I said it's available on prime said that later.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_01]: No, okay Anyway, I said one was on prime
- 16:49[SPEAKER_00]: So one's on prime.
- 16:50[SPEAKER_00]: One's on prime.
- 16:50[SPEAKER_00]: I will eat croissant for that one.
- 16:53[SPEAKER_01]: Huh?
- 16:53[SPEAKER_01]: One's on prime.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_01]: Two's on second.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_00]: Two's on Netflix.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_00]: Three's on third.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_00]: Three's also on Netflix.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_00]: You're not going to have an encostellomy on this side.
- 17:02[SPEAKER_00]: It's not happening.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_00]: Why are you hot up?
- 17:07[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_00]: So wake up dead man, a knife's out mystery available on Netflix.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_00]: What did I think of it?
- 17:13[SPEAKER_01]: Would you think of it?
- 17:14[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I actually...
- 17:15[SPEAKER_00]: thought it was really good.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_00]: The only problem for me is I figured it out way early.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_01]: There's one figure out way early.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_01]: I figured it out but not way.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_00]: I figured it out within the first 30 minutes after I saw all the cast I was like oh I know who it is.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_00]: And there was a tell, I'm not going to say anything more than that.
- 17:33[SPEAKER_00]: That's all I'm going to say because as we have been accosted already, by a listener, we are not supposed to give anything away.
- 17:39[SPEAKER_00]: But I can figure it out fairly early.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_00]: The only thing, I think there was, I think you and I didn't figure out the one thing until later, I think that might be where we're on the same page.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_01]: But I had someone else.
- 17:49[SPEAKER_01]: in that role.
- 17:50[SPEAKER_00]: When I saw this particular individual on the movie, I was like, oh, this would be absolutely amazing if that's what I ended up happening.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, as I was watching this actor or actress, depending upon which way you want to go on this one, right?
- 18:04[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, oh, yeah, yeah, my figured her, but I didn't.
- 18:10[SPEAKER_00]: Oh shit.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_01]: There you go.
- 18:14[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, uh, I'm gonna flip off that part anyway.
- 18:17[SPEAKER_01]: If you're gonna who the who the who the person the murderer was But not who the accomplice was.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so that's good.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_00]: I'll leave that first So I actually am gonna give it an eight.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_00]: I found it very pretty close.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_00]: I found it very entertaining.
- 18:31[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't entertaining.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_00]: It's it's a very good movie It's very very Not for everybody
- 18:37[SPEAKER_00]: I was going to say this, and thank you for reminding me of that.
- 18:40[SPEAKER_00]: I was going to say, if you are a devout Catholic, sorry, this is the spoiler alert that I'm going to give.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_00]: If you're a devout Catholic, you may have a problem with this movie, just like you had a problem with the movies from Tom Hanks, Angels and Demons, and I'm forgetting the other one, the Da Vinci code, because the Catholic Church spoke out highly about those two movies.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_00]: And I understand that was because there was about the last supper and stuff like that.
- 19:06[SPEAKER_00]: There isn't anything...
- 19:09[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that really speaks out on the faith or anything like that, but it does speak about like priests and fathers and monseniors and all that kind of stuff, which some Catholics may take offense to.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_00]: Right, so I agree.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_00]: That's why I want to put that out there.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_01]: Well, it's showed...
- 19:28[SPEAKER_01]: It's show the side of a priest that you might not always see.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_01]: I think a lot of priests do what this priest does, but more subtle.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not sure you're going with that, but I'm going to leave it alone.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm going to say this, I wasn't going to say this, but I'm going to say this because I think I'm going to give anything away.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not giving anything away, but I think in the beginning of the towards the beginning of the movie,
- 19:57[SPEAKER_01]: I think that the writer or the director, whoever, whoever, whose ever idea it was, I think that they drew some parallels to what we're seeing right now in this country, in the beginning.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_01]: And I thought that was clever.
- 20:18[SPEAKER_01]: because this, you know, knives out has a big following from the first one.
- 20:23[SPEAKER_01]: And I thought that was a clever way to kind of, and it kind of, in my opinion, the message of the movie is silences condoning.
- 20:32[SPEAKER_01]: And that was what was not happening.
- 20:35[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 20:35[SPEAKER_01]: You know, people got involved and the, and the right,
- 20:41[SPEAKER_01]: solution the right ending happened because people didn't stay silent.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_01]: And so I saw that parallel there early on.
- 20:50[SPEAKER_01]: They don't carry it throughout the home movie though.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_01]: So it's certainly not a politically message movie by any stretch.
- 20:56[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to turn you off if that's not your thing.
- 20:59[SPEAKER_01]: But I think if you watch this and you don't see a slight parallel, intentional or unintentional is there.
- 21:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, for sure.
- 21:09[SPEAKER_00]: for sure.
- 21:10[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, like I said, I enjoyed it.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_00]: I would watch it again.
- 21:13[SPEAKER_00]: I think at some point, probably over the next couple of weeks, I'll do a triple watch and then I'll watch him back to back the back, and so we'll see.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_00]: Just to compare things, just to watch Daniel Craig and his evolution through this whole thing because I too am also in the same boat when it comes to bond, it's Connery and it's Craig.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_00]: It's the CC connection.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_00]: See what I did there anyway.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but yeah, so those are those are my two favorite bonds and I'm I also agree with you.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_00]: I think He did what he wanted to do as far as bonus concern and I thought he I feel like he thought you know what I need to do something else so that I'm not typecast.
- 21:50[SPEAKER_00]: That's great.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_01]: And I agree that I'll just in time, too.
- 21:54[SPEAKER_00]: And I agree with his move, and I agree with him and the casting in all of the nice outlubies as well, too.
- 21:59[SPEAKER_00]: So make sure you check it out because we both obviously agree that it is, I mean, it's not going to probably win like a Golden Globe or anything like that, but it's entertaining.
- 22:08[SPEAKER_00]: And to me, that's what a movie should.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_00]: I think a lot of some movies nowadays, I think they're missing some of that entertainment value.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_00]: and it's nice to see a movie like this and I you know probably the point on Netflix too so that other people had access to it and they'd be able to watch it and didn't have to go on the movie theaters and stuff.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_01]: It's exclusive to Netflix I think right so if you don't have Netflix you ain't gonna see it.
- 22:29[SPEAKER_00]: I think the second one and the third one on the third but not the first one.
- 22:33[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 22:33[SPEAKER_00]: So definitely something to check out, but that's going to lead us into our favorite mystery movies, which is kind of the theme of this show.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_00]: So you started off with the review.
- 22:43[SPEAKER_00]: I'll start off with my first favorite mystery movie.
- 22:47[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 22:47[SPEAKER_00]: We'll do a runner up here and I'm going back a little bit.
- 22:51[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 22:51[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_01]: The way back machine.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_00]: Way back to Mr. Peabody.
- 22:57[SPEAKER_00]: Mr. Peabody.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 23:00[SPEAKER_00]: But the way back, I don't know if anybody's going to get that reference.
- 23:02[SPEAKER_00]: There will be people who will get it.
- 23:03[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see.
- 23:04[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to go all the way back to a movie that a lot of people I think overlook when it comes to a mystery movie.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_00]: I could be wrong here.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_00]: It came out in 2001.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_00]: OK. October 19th to be exact.
- 23:19[SPEAKER_00]: That's my anniversary.
- 23:21[SPEAKER_00]: David Lynch is the director, cinematographer, is Peter Deming.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_00]: You know it yet?
- 23:27[SPEAKER_00]: All right, a lot of people would call this like a psychological thriller, okay, as well in the cast, we have Lee Grant, we have Scott coffee, Angelo, I'm going to butcher this last time so I think it is said, but let's move into some of the other people we probably know, Billy Ray Cyrus, Melissa George, not, not buddy double, Justin Thoreau,
- 23:56[SPEAKER_00]: Laura harming.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, is there a blue velvet?
- 24:00[SPEAKER_00]: And last but not least, Naomi Watson.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_00]: No, you're not correct.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_00]: Moll Holon.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, my God.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_01]: Drive.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_01]: That's a great.
- 24:08[SPEAKER_01]: Isn't the big, the big heavy set guy?
- 24:12[SPEAKER_01]: He lost a lot of weight, played Rose Anne's husband, and I can't think of his name.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_01]: He's in that.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_00]: How'd you miss him?
- 24:19[SPEAKER_00]: He's not in it.
- 24:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_00]: No, I don't remember him being in it.
- 24:23[SPEAKER_00]: I'm pretty sure.
- 24:25[SPEAKER_00]: No, James Carnson it.
- 24:28[SPEAKER_00]: Isn't that in it?
- 24:29[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think so.
- 24:30[SPEAKER_01]: Which one am I thinking of that he's in?
- 24:32[SPEAKER_01]: Tony Longos and he plays that song.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_01]: You're thinking of it's not Mahal and Drive.
- 24:36[SPEAKER_01]: Nope.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_01]: Is it the the other one would Kevin Spacey that he's in then you think of usual suspects No, no, no, no, no, the other one where the seven not in seven.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_01]: No, he'd nine seven I don't know what other Can't give it away.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_00]: We're gonna hear about this from our from our resident You can't give it away non spoiler person.
- 24:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
- 24:57[SPEAKER_01]: Oh well, what's what's his name?
- 24:59[SPEAKER_01]: What's the guys name that was played Roseanne's husband?
- 25:02[SPEAKER_00]: I'm blanking How could you not remember his name?
- 25:05[SPEAKER_00]: Because I can't.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe because I'm 71.
- 25:11[SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_00]: Really?
- 25:12[SPEAKER_00]: You can't remember John Goodman?
- 25:14[SPEAKER_01]: John Goodman.
- 25:15[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my goodness.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_00]: I don't even know what movie you're thinking of that he was in.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_00]: That's like even remotely close to being a mystery.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_00]: But, you know, we'll let you Google search it while you go through things and try to figure it out.
- 25:33[SPEAKER_00]: If you're thinking of the Big Lebowski, I'm like, wow, but yeah.
- 25:37[SPEAKER_01]: No, he wasn't in, you're ready, wasn't in that.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_01]: The gambler, maybe?
- 25:41[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no, no, no.
- 25:42[SPEAKER_01]: I was thinking someone else.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_00]: What's the movie you were thinking of?
- 25:47[SPEAKER_01]: Um, fallen?
- 25:49[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no, no, no.
- 25:50[SPEAKER_01]: Because he said that.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_01]: That's kind of a mystery movie, sort of.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_01]: I thought he was in, um,
- 25:57[SPEAKER_01]: the other one, the other period piece.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_01]: With Danny DeVito, he was a reporter photographer, Kevin Spacey, was like a consultant on a cap show, and I can't think of the name of it, darn it.
- 26:17[SPEAKER_01]: Boy, I'm going to get really hit on this one.
- 26:21[SPEAKER_00]: I want to be there when this happens, then you know,
- 26:26[SPEAKER_00]: But he's not in that other like grassman at straws here because I don't even know what you're talking about like it's like confidential.
- 26:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my goodness.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_00]: Was he that?
- 26:35[SPEAKER_00]: No, he cool.
- 26:36[SPEAKER_01]: Good man.
- 26:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 26:37[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 26:37[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_01]: Never mind.
- 26:39[SPEAKER_00]: No, we talked about the contract.
- 26:40[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_00]: Like so you run.
- 26:43[SPEAKER_01]: You're on Mohal and drive.
- 26:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Mohal and drive.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_00]: You're thinking to Russell Crowe probably.
- 26:47[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't know how you know.
- 26:49[SPEAKER_01]: And I will.
- 26:49[SPEAKER_01]: Russell Crowe is as big as John Goodman now.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_01]: If you haven't seen Russell Crowe lately.
- 26:56[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't look like the gladiator anymore.
- 26:58[SPEAKER_01]: Well, it looks like the gladiator, everything.
- 27:00[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_00]: There you go.
- 27:03[SPEAKER_00]: I couldn't even begin to think of who you're thinking of from LA confidential that even looks like John Goodman.
- 27:10[SPEAKER_00]: I thought there was a big guy in there.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe the guy from the bodyguard that played opposite Kevin Costner was he in that?
- 27:17[SPEAKER_01]: They're real big guy.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_00]: I never saw the bodyguards.
- 27:19[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I don't know.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know how you can not have seen that because I just it was one of those movies where I just went.
- 27:24[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, no.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_00]: It's good movie.
- 27:26[SPEAKER_00]: It's very well.
- 27:27[SPEAKER_00]: Very well made movie.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm not a customer fan.
- 27:30[SPEAKER_00]: That's the problem.
- 27:31[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 27:31[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm going to.
- 27:34[SPEAKER_01]: I, I, I kind of threw in two TV shows as my favorite mysteries, like who's done them?
- 27:42[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, so you're cheating now.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_00]: I see how it goes.
- 27:45[SPEAKER_01]: But I do have my top one is the is a movie movie, uh, perro, her clip perro, nobody.
- 27:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, cue.
- 27:51[SPEAKER_01]: But cue.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_01]: But no.
- 27:53[SPEAKER_01]: Nobody solves mysteries better than him and Colombo, so which I'm my notes here for some reason or Columbia.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_01]: But I'll give you my number one mystery movie, which I just, I've, I've seen it like this, so you, so you're saying, you, you didn't really say any, you just said TV shows, but then you didn't talk about the shows, except for Columbus.
- 28:16[SPEAKER_00]: What, what, Agatha Christie show, or you talking about the, you know, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any, any
- 28:34[SPEAKER_01]: Is it is it the actor who plays him and that's why you like it or is it just like the original actor who played him I know kind of the brand I played him right that's on the that the or an express murder in a dress and care for his portrayal as much as the original okay Puro but I mean if you want to go for a movie murder in the original stress that then the Nile those are our great Puro movies too.
- 28:56[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that's all I say it.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_01]: I was like there are Puro movies out there.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I was like TV series was really good to one WTTW
- 29:04[SPEAKER_01]: which needs you funding, by the way, send the money.
- 29:07[SPEAKER_01]: Um, we got a huge public broadcasting going for it.
- 29:10[SPEAKER_00]: Like shameless, Paul number one, here we go.
- 29:13[SPEAKER_00]: We got to get number two today.
- 29:14[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_01]: Well, and then of course, clue is up there.
- 29:18[SPEAKER_01]: Not my number one, but clue, if you've never seen the movie clue, thought for sure you were going to say clue was your number one.
- 29:24[SPEAKER_01]: No, not number one, but if you haven't seen the movie clue, you gotta go see it.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_00]: But here's the thing.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_00]: Unfortunately, people who grew up, what did that come out like the mid 80s, late 80s or something like that?
- 29:39[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 29:39[SPEAKER_00]: So here's the problem.
- 29:40[SPEAKER_00]: If you were born in 1990, we would just say 1990.
- 29:42[SPEAKER_00]: If you were born in 1990, there was no way for you to watch this that film, the way it was originally intended to be watched, which is terrible.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_00]: because I only saw one version of it when I was a kid.
- 29:53[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't remember, I think it was red, green, and blue maybe were the movies or something like that.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_00]: Each one had a different color.
- 29:59[SPEAKER_00]: I forget what they were.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_00]: I know red and green were one because obviously, but it really has all the endings.
- 30:05[SPEAKER_00]: But that's what I'm saying.
- 30:06[SPEAKER_00]: You could just get that.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_00]: No, you couldn't.
- 30:08[SPEAKER_00]: You couldn't get that in the movie theater.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_00]: In the movie theater, you got one ending.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_00]: And that was it.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_00]: And then you had to find another movie theater.
- 30:14[SPEAKER_00]: So you actually had to watch it three times, which is what they were.
- 30:18[SPEAKER_00]: Brilliant marketing.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_00]: But you can't do that anymore.
- 30:21[SPEAKER_00]: No, because blood because I finally I finally at some point rented clue or something like that And when I was older and I was like, oh, yeah, I never got to see the other ones and what I hated about it was the way they did it They went all the way through and then they went back and said, oh, maybe it happened like this and I was like, but that's not the way you did it in the movie theater But how could you put the movie back on and do it over and over again?
- 30:42[SPEAKER_00]: I get it exactly, but I was gonna I was disappointed
- 30:44[SPEAKER_00]: But that's one of the parts I love about it.
- 30:46[SPEAKER_00]: I love the end.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_01]: You think it's over and it's not over?
- 30:50[SPEAKER_00]: And I do like the way they did it.
- 30:52[SPEAKER_00]: They're doing it because they have to obviously pay homage to the fact that it was filmed.
- 30:56[SPEAKER_00]: Well, it wasn't filmed three different times.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_00]: It was filmed once, but then it had three different avenues.
- 31:00[SPEAKER_00]: Which is cool.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_00]: It was more like the board game back then, as opposed to you watching it now.
- 31:04[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
- 31:05[SPEAKER_00]: So anyway, what?
- 31:06[SPEAKER_00]: Although the board game only hit one murder.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_00]: Not depends upon how many times you play it.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_01]: Well, yeah, if you played it eight times in one night.
- 31:12[SPEAKER_01]: Well, some of us do I didn't Don't you haven't you ever had a game the board game Chris?
- 31:18[SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
- 31:18[SPEAKER_01]: I had a I didn't get gifts for Christmas Not even you Not even when you had your kids you guys didn't play like clue You just played Carl we played monopoly we played Carl
- 31:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we had a monopoly game.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_00]: Did you claim it not believe or did the pieces like for every way?
- 31:35[SPEAKER_01]: We played monopoly.
- 31:36[SPEAKER_01]: We had a game that went on for over a week until we fully quit my goodness.
- 31:41[SPEAKER_01]: We had it on our kitchen table for over a week.
- 31:43[SPEAKER_00]: I'm surprised that Doris let you leave it on the kitchen table for a week.
- 31:48[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that was a surprise, but she did.
- 31:50[SPEAKER_01]: All right, so you want to do your number one and I'll do my number one one.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_00]: Well, you're on a roll.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_00]: You might as well do your number one and then I'll go ahead and do mine.
- 31:56[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 31:57[SPEAKER_01]: My number one.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 31:59[SPEAKER_01]: I am a huge fan of Kevin Klein.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_01]: Very very melancholy done.
- 32:06[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not a drummer.
- 32:08[SPEAKER_01]: I love Kevin Klein.
- 32:10[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 32:10[SPEAKER_01]: He was he's been great in so many movies.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_00]: I like them in that was it the last the the was it was it called Dave Dave.
- 32:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, where he was the president.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_01]: That's a great movie.
- 32:22[SPEAKER_01]: And then I loved
- 32:24[SPEAKER_01]: in and out was good and he was also great in uh there's another movie where he plays a Parisian guy this is where it would be a great segue for you to go and he was also great in and then named the mystery movie that you're like it man well i'm gonna i gave you that there was another movie where he that he played with uh uh uh the america sweetheart for a long time
- 32:45[SPEAKER_01]: the blind maybe to look this one up to the little blind girl from when Harry Matt Sally you know Meg Ryan he played with Meg Ryan and he plays a fabulous role there but he really nails it in a mystery movie called the January man oh yes that is a great movie that is and then it's also with Elizabeth
- 33:10[SPEAKER_01]: Who's sister is a very good friend of mine, by the way, he's shout out to Gasey, who was a beautiful voice by the way, she's a great singer.
- 33:18[SPEAKER_01]: And anyway, Elizabeth is in that movie with Kevin.
- 33:21[SPEAKER_01]: And it's just a, I mean, it's a you don't know what's coming movie to the end.
- 33:27[SPEAKER_01]: And I just enjoy the help.
- 33:28[SPEAKER_01]: That's my number one for, I actually been trying to find it.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_01]: Recently, I can't find it anywhere to watch it again.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_01]: So what is it again?
- 33:41[SPEAKER_00]: It's about a killer.
- 33:42[SPEAKER_00]: I just wanna make sure everybody got it.
- 33:43[SPEAKER_01]: You know, guy, killing people, and Kevin Klein is a very unorthodox detective who figures the whole thing out.
- 33:52[SPEAKER_01]: Go get the movie at the library if he's having the library and go watch it.
- 33:55[SPEAKER_01]: When we're done, when we're done here, we should go see a feature.
- 33:59[SPEAKER_01]: I could, but I don't have a library card for this.
- 34:00[SPEAKER_01]: I took a look at it.
- 34:01[SPEAKER_01]: Check it out for you.
- 34:02[SPEAKER_01]: No, you wouldn't.
- 34:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I would.
- 34:04[SPEAKER_00]: What a guy.
- 34:05[SPEAKER_00]: You are very welcome.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_00]: If they have it.
- 34:07[SPEAKER_00]: If the DVD, all right, so that's me, and to you, move it on, I picked the Kevin Spacey movie.
- 34:16[SPEAKER_00]: Ooh, I did not pick seven, no, and we all know why, yes, we know, although, to be fair,
- 34:23[SPEAKER_00]: I think it should be like a runner up, because it is a great mystery movie, except for, what's even the most important thing in these?
- 34:30[SPEAKER_00]: It's terrible.
- 34:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, okay.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely terrible.
- 34:33[SPEAKER_00]: And I think I figured it out finally.
- 34:35[SPEAKER_00]: I think him and Gwyneth Paltrow, and by him I mean Brad Pitt, we're actually breaking up or going to break up, and he just didn't give a rat's ass about her anymore.
- 34:44[SPEAKER_00]: Because it shows in his acting, it just does.
- 34:46[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, I'm going to move on because my pick is the usual suspects.
- 34:50[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, that's a good one.
- 34:52[SPEAKER_00]: I'll give you that one.
- 34:54[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's a fabulous movie.
- 34:55[SPEAKER_00]: I think it hits on the... And I wouldn't go... Well, it's a cult classic.
- 35:00[SPEAKER_00]: It is.
- 35:01[SPEAKER_00]: And that's really what it boils down to.
- 35:03[SPEAKER_00]: And it's a great mystery of the movie, and it's got some great lines, and just a great cast.
- 35:09[SPEAKER_00]: And it's a funny movie.
- 35:10[SPEAKER_00]: It's one of those movies you want to watch over and over again.
- 35:12[SPEAKER_00]: It's one of those movies that if you don't have any or a collection and you're a movie person, what's wrong with?
- 35:17[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 35:18[SPEAKER_00]: Unless maybe you were born, you know, like in the 2000s you haven't encountered yet.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I'll give you past there, but go watch it because it's a great flick.
- 35:25[SPEAKER_00]: It is a great flick.
- 35:26[SPEAKER_00]: So let's recap.
- 35:27[SPEAKER_00]: That's my runer up was my haul in drive.
- 35:30[SPEAKER_00]: My best topic was usual suspects yours were.
- 35:33[SPEAKER_01]: Well, my runners up were the TV series of Pero and Columbo, but I would add into that.
- 35:40[SPEAKER_00]: So we need to practice that.
- 35:41[SPEAKER_00]: We need to practice that.
- 35:42[SPEAKER_00]: But we need to practice that and say that they're Agatha Christie mystery.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_00]: Agatha Christie.
- 35:46[SPEAKER_00]: Because I missed three.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_00]: That's what they were called.
- 35:48[SPEAKER_01]: And then we Columbo, right?
- 35:50[SPEAKER_01]: And then, you know, murder on the Oran Express, and death on an hour.
- 35:54[SPEAKER_01]: And then my top one is Kevin Klein.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_01]: I love you Kevin.
- 35:57[SPEAKER_01]: Give me a call sometime.
- 36:00[SPEAKER_01]: I'd love to be in a movie with you.
- 36:02[SPEAKER_01]: Jan, you're a man.
- 36:03[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's doing.
- 36:04[SPEAKER_01]: Kevin Klein, and it was a bit master on time.
- 36:08[SPEAKER_00]: I think I think he's, I think he's retired.
- 36:10[SPEAKER_01]: You think he's retired?
- 36:11[SPEAKER_01]: He'd come out for one movie with me.
- 36:13[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe.
- 36:13[SPEAKER_01]: We could do a buddy flick.
- 36:15[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 36:15[SPEAKER_01]: Come in with me.
- 36:18[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
- 36:18[SPEAKER_00]: I won't say anything else because I don't have anything positive to say about that.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 36:24[SPEAKER_00]: The March men could be called March right out of the theater men because it's going to be that bad.
- 36:29[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, as speaking of that, hey, you guys have a wonderful holiday merry Christmas.
- 36:33[SPEAKER_00]: If you celebrate, if you don't, happy festivists or any of the other holidays on exam, whatever it is, whatever your holiday is, enjoy it.
- 36:40[SPEAKER_00]: We have, we hope you have a wonderful time with your family.
- 36:42[SPEAKER_00]: You do right?
- 36:43[SPEAKER_00]: We are taking two weeks off so that we can spend time with our families, recoup, re-energize, and then we'll be back at the first official week of January with our very first show of 2026, which as we have said is going to be.
- 36:56[SPEAKER_00]: miscast wrong actors yes exactly or actor or to recesses or miss hired directors will go that route to really yeah because I there's a there's a couple of directors that I'm like you never should have directed that movie okay yeah okay we could try that too okay and maybe we could do uh the wrong wardrobe person
- 37:17[SPEAKER_00]: We can go, we can go a little further if you want to, we can get very, we can go, we haven't gone technical yet.
- 37:21[SPEAKER_01]: You know, back in the day, we're going to do wrong lighting designers for what he could do that.
- 37:26[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, 30s, 40s and 50s for the most part.
- 37:29[SPEAKER_01]: I would say over 90% of movies, the custom designer was Edith Ed.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 37:35[SPEAKER_01]: Did you know that?
- 37:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 37:37[SPEAKER_01]: That was not true.
- 37:38[SPEAKER_01]: And she's, I think she has more Oscars than anybody.
- 37:40[SPEAKER_01]: Not to be confused with Edith Moles.
- 37:43[SPEAKER_00]: eat it mow head eat it mow eat it mow you've never seen the incredible so oh yeah yeah oh it's Edna that's Edna that's Edna that's what Edna you don't know me I know Edna mow that's why I threw you alright my Edna's more head and be with wow easy there there's children listening anyway with that that's gonna end the episode happy holidays to everybody out there Mary Christmas if you celebrate that as well until next episode save us some popcorn
