- 0:00Speaker 1: The Force will be with you always.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Hello, everyone, Welcome back to another episode of Star Wars Alliance,
- 0:23Speaker 2: your home on geek Ultimate Lized podcast network for eating
- 0:26Speaker 2: and all things Star Wars. I'm your host as always,
- 0:30Speaker 2: Katie and I had an angry baby tonight, which is
- 0:32Speaker 2: why we are late. Clay is with me as per
- 0:38Speaker 2: the usual. He's a little bit fuzzy, but he's got
- 0:40Speaker 2: some storms in his area, so that's the explanation. If
- 0:44Speaker 2: it gets bad, he's gonna drop picture.
- 0:46Speaker 3: So say hello, yeah, it's I'm actually looking at the
- 0:50Speaker 3: YouTube right now, and.
- 0:54Speaker 1: I'm telling you it's it's like you know when when
- 0:56Speaker 1: Obi Wan's calling in and he's in the rating, you know,
- 0:59Speaker 1: that's all it is is you're just I see now
- 1:02Speaker 1: you're just in a storm right now. That's now.
- 1:03Speaker 3: I just need to find that backdrop, dude. I need
- 1:06Speaker 3: to find.
- 1:08Speaker 4: Behind you and it'll look perfect of Genosha, right, it's exactly, yeah,
- 1:14Speaker 4: Genoss Sorry, yes, it's the clone place.
- 1:22Speaker 3: No no no, no, no, no, no, yeah is it it
- 1:26Speaker 3: is Camino? That's right, it doesn't. There's there's there's two.
- 1:31Speaker 3: There's two melos that he.
- 1:33Speaker 1: I don't want you to get attack.
- 1:35Speaker 3: I'd rather yeah that he was like, disappear out of
- 1:38Speaker 3: the freaking.
- 1:41Speaker 2: No.
- 1:41Speaker 3: But yeah, my day would have been a whole lot
- 1:46Speaker 3: better if I could have grabbed uh into the light today.
- 1:53Speaker 3: But my bookstore accidentally forgot to pick up They picked
- 1:59Speaker 3: up everybody pre order for every other book, for every
- 2:02Speaker 3: other book that came out in the last two weeks,
- 2:07Speaker 3: but they didn't pick up mine. So it'll be it'll
- 2:10Speaker 3: be there tomorrow. But I have bought this book three times.
- 2:19Speaker 1: I order.
- 2:20Speaker 3: I ordered it a bookshop dot Com and I didn't
- 2:24Speaker 3: cancel it in time, so it already shipped. So I'm
- 2:26Speaker 3: waiting for that to get here. But then I was like, hey,
- 2:30Speaker 3: I can get it physically at the store, So I
- 2:34Speaker 3: went to my local bookshop, which is literally right down
- 2:37Speaker 3: the road. They forgot my pre order. But I need
- 2:41Speaker 3: to read the book in order for us to prepare
- 2:43Speaker 3: for our recording, so I had to purchase it digitally
- 2:50Speaker 3: on the Apple Books app. So Disney's got my money,
- 2:55Speaker 3: like like like, Disney's got my money.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't. I don't know if you guys have
- 3:02Speaker 1: seen it was it was kind of a shadow drop,
- 3:03Speaker 1: but I don't and I don't know if you guys
- 3:05Speaker 1: have Apple TV or not. But myth a quest are
- 3:08Speaker 1: you guys familiar with with?
- 3:09Speaker 2: Ah, yes, I've seen that.
- 3:11Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 3:12Speaker 2: I haven't watched Y Yeah.
- 3:13Speaker 1: No worries, No worries. They they came out with a
- 3:15Speaker 1: shadow they shadow dropped like a spinoff called side Quest
- 3:18Speaker 1: where they go through like different side stories of different
- 3:23Speaker 1: things of the of the video games. So like if
- 3:26Speaker 1: you're playing Wow, it's like the art director of Wow,
- 3:29Speaker 1: like what he's doing on vacation while he's getting whatever.
- 3:31Speaker 1: But there's the second episode, poll List. I think it
- 3:33Speaker 1: is one of my favorite episodes that I've seen of
- 3:37Speaker 1: Encapsulation of fandom, And like the whole premise is like
- 3:41Speaker 1: they're trying to figure out who deserves to get the
- 3:43Speaker 1: one copy of the comic from the series because everybody's
- 3:49Speaker 1: pre orders got screwed up, so it becomes like a
- 3:51Speaker 1: whole like you know, measuring contest of like nerdom and
- 3:54Speaker 1: stuff like that, and it's all just like over like
- 3:56Speaker 1: one book. But at the end of the day, we
- 3:58Speaker 1: can just like read you know, we just all read it.
- 4:01Speaker 1: We just all read it. So it's just so funny
- 4:02Speaker 1: you say that, But I'm glad that you were able
- 4:04Speaker 1: to get it, so that we but it's just it's
- 4:06Speaker 1: still like that, man, it's just real life. It's yeah.
- 4:10Speaker 3: And for those of you who are of course here
- 4:13Speaker 3: joining us on live as well as all of the
- 4:17Speaker 3: listeners that are going to be listening to this tomorrow,
- 4:19Speaker 3: when the episode drops that extra copy of Into the Light,
- 4:26Speaker 3: we will be giving that away. So I will say,
- 4:33Speaker 3: if you could very much please use our hotline and
- 4:40Speaker 3: or the email link below you can send us a
- 4:47Speaker 3: review of the show or give your thoughts on what
- 4:51Speaker 3: we're gonna be talking about tonight, which is of course
- 4:55Speaker 3: brand new announcement of Tales of the Underworld that like. So,
- 5:03Speaker 3: I'll be completely honest, I was so busy at work
- 5:06Speaker 3: today I was not looking at social media whatsoever. And
- 5:12Speaker 3: heat he just texted me and she's like is she
- 5:15Speaker 3: with so and so? And I'm like, who is she?
- 5:17Speaker 3: And what are you talking about? And then I actually
- 5:19Speaker 3: looked at what she posted. I was like, holy crap,
- 5:21Speaker 3: this is I was not expecting this. So we got,
- 5:25Speaker 3: of course, your traditional May fourth announcement. There's always something
- 5:28Speaker 3: on May fourth dropping on Disney Plus for Star Wars
- 5:32Speaker 3: in recent years, so we get that we're going to
- 5:35Speaker 3: talk about it. Of course this week we are doing
- 5:38Speaker 3: our uh Star Wars celebration predictions. Of course, Adrian here
- 5:44Speaker 3: is actually gonna be there, so.
- 5:46Speaker 2: We didn't even introduce you. Adrian.
- 5:48Speaker 1: I'm so sorry off, Like, yeah, I just took my
- 5:54Speaker 1: shoes off at the door, and we're not there yet.
- 5:58Speaker 3: We're still we're still technically in the intro and then
- 6:02Speaker 3: of course, as you can see in the title, we
- 6:06Speaker 3: will be talking about Haunted Starlight and I'm just down
- 6:11Speaker 3: noticing on YouTube I spelled Starlight with two ages. Damn
- 6:16Speaker 3: either way, Hey Adrian, what's up? Oh man, make myself
- 6:28Speaker 3: at home, you know, yeah, man, of course, always always,
- 6:31Speaker 3: we love when you are able to join us, and
- 6:35Speaker 3: we're sad when you're unable to. But super glad you're
- 6:39Speaker 3: able to join us on this show because, like I said,
- 6:41Speaker 3: you're actually gonna be there at celebration.
- 6:44Speaker 1: So super excited. Not super happy with the way they
- 6:47Speaker 1: did their panel thing this year. That's my own little gripe,
- 6:49Speaker 1: I think, Yeah, just how do you expect people to
- 6:53Speaker 1: be able to like be with each other if you know,
- 6:57Speaker 1: you know, I don't want to be mad about it,
- 7:00Speaker 1: but yeah, super excited for for everything else. You know,
- 7:03Speaker 1: my wife's doing a cosplay from Star Wars Visions that
- 7:07Speaker 1: she's almost finished. It's like a big, beautiful wedding dressed
- 7:10Speaker 1: from the Village Bride episode. So awesome, and we're just
- 7:15Speaker 1: gonna be like cool, live in Japan and get a
- 7:17Speaker 1: whole bunch of Star Wars news. I'm hoping that we
- 7:18Speaker 1: had to see some stuff early like we did, like
- 7:20Speaker 1: we have the last couple of times. So you know,
- 7:22Speaker 1: as soon as I know you know I'm leaking, I'm
- 7:25Speaker 1: leaking to you guys. Bically, Yeah, I'm not under any embargo.
- 7:31Speaker 1: I'm not going there for press.
- 7:34Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 7:35Speaker 2: That's the way to do it. You know, we can
- 7:37Speaker 2: count on Adrian for.
- 7:39Speaker 1: The putting your put in your exclusive exclusive orders. Please.
- 7:45Speaker 1: I need that Cherry Blossom Stormtroopers so bad and it
- 7:48Speaker 1: looks so cool.
- 7:50Speaker 2: All the artwork is like legendary.
- 7:53Speaker 3: And then of course, uh, I will say this uh
- 7:57Speaker 3: speaking of leaks. Uh, just a reminder everybody, Katie and
- 8:03Speaker 3: I do plan on reviewing on our own personal time
- 8:10Speaker 3: act like way Seeker, and we'll be dropping that episode
- 8:15Speaker 3: not this next week but the following week. Due to
- 8:20Speaker 3: the fact that there will most likely be copies of
- 8:25Speaker 3: that book floating around at celebration, so the embargo is
- 8:30Speaker 3: actually up a little bit earlier than actual release.
- 8:34Speaker 1: So just wanted to make you guys aware of that.
- 8:38Speaker 1: Oh Man, So I hope it's good. I hope it's good.
- 8:41Speaker 1: She didn't watch The Man, so I hope it's good.
- 8:44Speaker 2: Yeah, so far, so good at least. All right, y'all,
- 8:47Speaker 2: we're going to hit our first ad break and we
- 8:49Speaker 2: will be right back in three two one.
- 8:54Speaker 1: You know me, I don't watch some goddamn trailers. I
- 8:57Speaker 1: don't watch no trailers. And I saw the poster. I
- 8:59Speaker 1: saw the post, I saw Ventest, I saw Kad Baine.
- 9:01Speaker 1: I'm in you know, just sign me up, sign me up.
- 9:05Speaker 1: The I don't know how you guys feel about the
- 9:07Speaker 1: Young Boba stuff, and like the whole Underworld thing with
- 9:10Speaker 1: all black bounders. I love it. I love it. I
- 9:12Speaker 1: played a bounty hunter in Star Wars Galaxies and in
- 9:16Speaker 1: swol Cars, so like, I'm I'm with it. Give it
- 9:19Speaker 1: to me more bounty hunters, please, I'm down with it.
- 9:24Speaker 3: I have always been a fan of Star Wars outside
- 9:30Speaker 3: of just the Forces and Jedi and everything else, because
- 9:35Speaker 3: it's a galaxy. It's not just these individual people of
- 9:39Speaker 3: you know, Jedi and Force users. It's what comes with
- 9:43Speaker 3: it is what makes it a galaxy and a lot
- 9:49Speaker 3: of people. I feel like I haven't gone searching for it,
- 9:52Speaker 3: so I'm not entirely sure what the reaction is for
- 9:56Speaker 3: this particular tales of Now, this isn't going to have
- 10:02Speaker 3: the lightsaber problem because we have Assage.
- 10:07Speaker 2: Venturess, so that another inquisitor.
- 10:11Speaker 3: We do have another inquisitor unknown. Uh so that's gonna
- 10:17Speaker 3: be interesting. All we saw was like a little bit
- 10:22Speaker 3: of a shadowy face with some eyes, tattered cloak cape thing.
- 10:31Speaker 3: But then uh yeah, Like I I like the idea
- 10:36Speaker 3: of kind of growing Cadbane's backstory. It really looks like
- 10:42Speaker 3: we're going to probably get a lot of his backstort.
- 10:48Speaker 3: We're seeing more of his like what seems like his
- 10:51Speaker 3: kN probably people that he grew up with. So interesting, Katie,
- 10:58Speaker 3: what do you think do.
- 10:59Speaker 2: Y'all all think this is setting up for Mandalorian and
- 11:03Speaker 2: Grogu because we've heard that like like, uh, what's his name?
- 11:09Speaker 2: Rota is gonna be like captured. There's gonna be more
- 11:14Speaker 2: bounty hunters involved. Dave Filoni's bounty hunter that he voices
- 11:18Speaker 2: in Clone Warsh specifically, So like, do y'all think this
- 11:23Speaker 2: is leading up to that or maybe even like the
- 11:27Speaker 2: Path animated show that's like rumored as like the next
- 11:32Speaker 2: animated show to drop.
- 11:37Speaker 1: Wait. I think they're separate. The miles of them have
- 11:41Speaker 1: been separate, right when they do this tales thing. I
- 11:43Speaker 1: think it's very much in the anthology department, So I'm
- 11:48Speaker 1: hoping it stays there because like, well, there's no real
- 11:50Speaker 1: reason for cat Baine to lead into Mandalorian or like
- 11:54Speaker 1: there's nothing really I can't say anything coming there that
- 11:56Speaker 1: like matters for Mandalorian and Grogu like in real big way.
- 12:01Speaker 1: Then what do you do with Venturess? Because like Ventress
- 12:03Speaker 1: is always like the character when she shows up, we're
- 12:05Speaker 1: just like why, how? Where? How? Timeline books more like
- 12:10Speaker 1: where where's the thing? So I hope that's their own
- 12:12Speaker 1: thing and we're just learning more about their specific characters
- 12:14Speaker 1: because that's how the rest of them have been. I
- 12:16Speaker 1: love that it's separate from the movies. I don't even
- 12:19Speaker 1: like even from the movies. It's a whole other thing,
- 12:21Speaker 1: you know, you know, buck going like Skywalker Jedi stuff
- 12:25Speaker 1: being able to watch that kind of story from the
- 12:27Speaker 1: comfort of my home is a good experience. That is
- 12:30Speaker 1: like very It's almost like reading a book to me,
- 12:33Speaker 1: you know, it's like a visual novel for sure.
- 12:37Speaker 2: I'm really excited for this. I kind of saw it coming,
- 12:41Speaker 2: like this announcement, not necessarily the Tales of the Underworld part,
- 12:46Speaker 2: but like another Tales epic coming on May fourth, because
- 12:51Speaker 2: that's just kind of been the trend recently. I'm very
- 12:58Speaker 2: excited to see adventuress. It does make me concerned that
- 13:01Speaker 2: we won't see her in the future, but it also
- 13:03Speaker 2: makes me concerned about dark disciple as the book. Are
- 13:07Speaker 2: we going to see another book butchered? That's the question.
- 13:14Speaker 1: Well, that's what I worried about. That's why, like, don't
- 13:15Speaker 1: don't do too much, man, just give me the answers.
- 13:18Speaker 1: Just give me the answers you want. Tell me you
- 13:19Speaker 1: have a cohesive story, Tell me you cared about the
- 13:21Speaker 1: character that you know people will burn this place in
- 13:26Speaker 1: the ground if you do her dirty, so you have
- 13:28Speaker 1: to do her right.
- 13:29Speaker 2: Yeah, and that book is so well loved, even more
- 13:33Speaker 2: so than me a Soca book, So you can't just
- 13:36Speaker 2: say like, oh, yeah, we're just going to ignore this book.
- 13:39Speaker 2: Like you wrote those scripts for a sage, you never
- 13:44Speaker 2: got a chance to do them, so you turn them
- 13:46Speaker 2: into a book. End of discussion. That story should still
- 13:50Speaker 2: matter to you at the end of the day. I
- 13:53Speaker 2: am hoping the person that I asked Clay about is
- 14:01Speaker 2: in the trailer. You actually see basically Assage has picked
- 14:05Speaker 2: up a what looks like a wayward apprentice. We are
- 14:10Speaker 2: going to see the mommy side of Star Wars versus
- 14:14Speaker 2: the daddy side of Star Wars. And I asked Clay,
- 14:20Speaker 2: is that Koran from Kenobi that she is working with?
- 14:27Speaker 3: I had no idea who you were talking about. What
- 14:32Speaker 3: the hell? What's going on.
- 14:35Speaker 1: Now?
- 14:36Speaker 3: Going back Corn and correct me if I'm wrong. We
- 14:46Speaker 3: see obi Wan in the Obi Wan series meet up
- 14:51Speaker 3: with him like really late at night.
- 14:55Speaker 2: It's it's not obi Wan. It's the like safety person.
- 14:59Speaker 2: He the guy that's working with the path so obi
- 15:03Speaker 2: Wan watches, well, I can't remember his name. It's the
- 15:08Speaker 2: fake Jedi who's doing like the mechanical tricks. Oh, he's
- 15:12Speaker 2: like trying to impress on.
- 15:16Speaker 1: The Oh yeah, I can't say.
- 15:20Speaker 3: Oh that's right. And it was the kid, Yeah, it.
- 15:24Speaker 2: Was the kid and his Mom's right. Is that boy
- 15:29Speaker 2: the same one that Massage is working with in this?
- 15:33Speaker 2: Do you guys have theories?
- 15:35Speaker 3: I guess the timeline would actually fit.
- 15:39Speaker 2: It depends, right, It depends because Obi Wan takes place
- 15:44Speaker 2: around like ten bby I think is what we have
- 15:48Speaker 2: decided it is. And bad Batch you see Assage with
- 15:52Speaker 2: the lightsaber that's nineteen bybe Why so if this is
- 15:57Speaker 2: like five bb why then yes, completely realistic, but where
- 16:03Speaker 2: is it so?
- 16:05Speaker 3: And I also I want to make a small comment
- 16:09Speaker 3: about like the whole realm of like what y'all were
- 16:13Speaker 3: talking about, Like when you were saying these things kind
- 16:17Speaker 3: of demolished the idea of these books that were out there.
- 16:20Speaker 3: First we saw with Tales of the Jedi it was
- 16:23Speaker 3: the Ahsoka book, and then with bad Batch it was
- 16:31Speaker 3: the potentially darkness, essentially dark disciple, but also Tales of
- 16:39Speaker 3: the Empire. Granted, this was I believe a Legends novel.
- 16:45Speaker 3: Barie Opie, Barrassafie Bariss sorry, baris Afie her whole story.
- 16:53Speaker 3: There was a Legends novel?
- 16:55Speaker 1: Correct?
- 16:56Speaker 3: Was it Legends? It's not canon?
- 16:58Speaker 2: Yeah, there's the MedStar duology.
- 17:02Speaker 3: Yeah, uh so you bring her in and the idea
- 17:08Speaker 3: of like, oh, is this gonna be connecting to any
- 17:10Speaker 3: movies or TV shows we all thought and there still
- 17:14Speaker 3: hasn't been any confirmation and or any news to support this.
- 17:19Speaker 3: But with the last episodes of Tales of the Empire,
- 17:23Speaker 3: there's all these rumors of like she's gonna be in
- 17:27Speaker 3: like season two of ah Soka, Like they're gonna they're
- 17:30Speaker 3: gonna meet up again, and it's gonna be this whole
- 17:32Speaker 3: crazy thing. Of course we have we have no indication
- 17:38Speaker 3: of that happening whatsoever. So I I am in both realms.
- 17:44Speaker 3: Uh as far as do I want it to connect
- 17:47Speaker 3: and do I not want it to connect. I think
- 17:52Speaker 3: it would be really cool to get the chance to
- 17:58Speaker 3: see Assage in live action. I think it would be
- 18:04Speaker 3: really cool. But Adrian has something to say about that.
- 18:12Speaker 5: They all want it, dude, because this bandom sucks sometimes, man,
- 18:18Speaker 5: I don't I don't want whatever actress that is who
- 18:22Speaker 5: plays a sage ventress, whatever non binary person they cast,
- 18:27Speaker 5: whatever person who absolutely murders it and then they have
- 18:32Speaker 5: to deal with all like the backlash because there's no.
- 18:34Speaker 1: Like a sage ventress is like cool because she's like
- 18:38Speaker 1: that background character. Like these dudes don't really know about
- 18:41Speaker 1: Like you know, I just I would just worry. I
- 18:44Speaker 1: would just worry about seeing her in live action. Yeah,
- 18:47Speaker 1: because when we get forced gets like in like the
- 18:49Speaker 1: timeline in Ahsoka, I think Bearsafi would like make a
- 18:52Speaker 1: little bit more sense. But even then, I think that
- 18:54Speaker 1: these stories are like really good and contained, like cool,
- 18:57Speaker 1: like that was a story, like and for Douku too, right,
- 19:00Speaker 1: like he's dead, he's never coming back. Here's some here's
- 19:02Speaker 1: some anthology backstory on it. So you feel a little
- 19:05Speaker 1: bit less. So you feel a little sad when he
- 19:07Speaker 1: gets his head cut off cut off, you know. Yeah,
- 19:10Speaker 1: So but just like that, like if this is the
- 19:11Speaker 1: only way that I can like enjoy her, give her
- 19:15Speaker 1: a spin off show or something or like you know
- 19:17Speaker 1: where she's like mommy, mommy, Like I'm down. But ye,
- 19:20Speaker 1: live action, I'm worried. I'd be worried.
- 19:22Speaker 3: I get that point, I really do. Yeah, as far
- 19:29Speaker 3: as not being in that boat of not wanting it
- 19:33Speaker 3: to connect, Adrian, you just said it, the feeling of
- 19:40Speaker 3: feeling forced, I think that unfortunately, there would be this
- 19:48Speaker 3: kind of like cloud hanging over in a movie theater
- 19:54Speaker 3: if we started to start like connecting the dots like
- 19:57Speaker 3: as it's starting to happen, I'm like, oh, wait, is
- 20:00Speaker 3: this gonna connect to Tales of the Underworld right now?
- 20:03Speaker 3: And then like boom, it's there. It's just like, m yeah.
- 20:08Speaker 3: It doesn't feel like they wanted it to feel like,
- 20:11Speaker 3: oh my gosh.
- 20:12Speaker 1: It's more of like a you know, uh, you're like,
- 20:15Speaker 1: oh no, it's like actually like heartfelt and like has
- 20:19Speaker 1: something to say and it's not just about like peop
- 20:21Speaker 1: poo peo.
- 20:23Speaker 2: You know.
- 20:24Speaker 3: Yeah, so I I I get that now if there
- 20:32Speaker 3: is a chance that this is the Koran from Obi Wan,
- 20:36Speaker 3: I think that's a fun nod and like by the
- 20:40Speaker 3: end of the show you can see them like running
- 20:42Speaker 3: off and be like, oh, I know we're there.
- 20:45Speaker 1: Yeah, I think I think that's good, right, because that
- 20:48Speaker 1: connects with with Massage and her boy Toy, like it
- 20:54Speaker 1: all that all makes sense. Yeah. I would like that
- 20:57Speaker 1: because that would give us dark Disciple answers, which would
- 21:01Speaker 1: because he was there, Quinlan Voss was on the thing.
- 21:03Speaker 1: We all we all read it, we all went, we
- 21:05Speaker 1: all pointed at the screen, right, So yeah, yeah, let's
- 21:09Speaker 1: do that. I'm good with that connection. But no, no
- 21:12Speaker 1: farther than that, No, no movie connection.
- 21:14Speaker 2: It's like a little easter egg.
- 21:15Speaker 1: Yeah, yeahs are fine, you know what I want.
- 21:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm super happy with this. This is something that
- 21:24Speaker 2: I pitched when Disney first bought Star Wars. Is like,
- 21:29Speaker 2: because you had like the Tales of the New Republic,
- 21:32Speaker 2: the Tales from Java's Palace, like all those legends anthology
- 21:38Speaker 2: novella's basically collections that I really enjoyed growing up. I
- 21:46Speaker 2: think I'm an outlier, but I really enjoyed those and
- 21:49Speaker 2: I thought it was great cool. Yeah, yea, I'm not alone.
- 21:53Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean the like the Tails, the Tales from
- 21:56Speaker 1: Vader's Palace, the Tales from Java's from Java's Palace US
- 22:00Speaker 1: now or Vader's Castle rather like they they're telling those
- 22:03Speaker 1: still just in comic form, and they're fantastic, Like yeah, underrated.
- 22:07Speaker 2: So yeah, they're really good, and I think this is
- 22:12Speaker 2: a good way for Star Wars to approach stories and now.
- 22:16Speaker 2: Like for me, I was like, let's focus on like
- 22:19Speaker 2: one character an episode basically, and then you can decide
- 22:22Speaker 2: who to spin off from there. But I think this
- 22:24Speaker 2: still very much hates that itch that a lot of
- 22:30Speaker 2: Star Wars fans want that I want more of this character.
- 22:32Speaker 2: I want more of that character and like it just
- 22:35Speaker 2: is able to bring it together. I'm very curious to
- 22:39Speaker 2: see what comes next year from this Tales series. I
- 22:47Speaker 2: don't know, it's very exciting.
- 22:48Speaker 1: So I have a bunch of I have a bunch
- 22:50Speaker 1: of options for there. But hopefully we can say that
- 22:52Speaker 1: for like the Star Wars celebration.
- 22:56Speaker 2: Which we can dive into.
- 22:58Speaker 3: Actually, let's let's jump been to our Star Wars Celebration predictions.
- 23:06Speaker 3: I'll be completely honest. When Adrian said in our group chat,
- 23:11Speaker 3: oh I get to joint on Star Wars Celebration episode.
- 23:14Speaker 3: Hell yeah, I was like, Star Wars Celebration episode. I
- 23:17Speaker 3: was so focused on listening to this audiobook and like,
- 23:24Speaker 3: of course work being completely hectic right now. I'm like, oh, yeah,
- 23:28Speaker 3: we have to talk about that, so I'll be.
- 23:34Speaker 1: You know, for for the listeners. They sent me a link.
- 23:36Speaker 1: They're like, here, look at here's my calendar, and I
- 23:38Speaker 1: was like, okay.
- 23:41Speaker 2: Yeah, it helps me correlate things because I always get
- 23:46Speaker 2: and so laying it out.
- 23:48Speaker 3: Help see what I need. Honestly, Katie, I need there
- 23:52Speaker 3: to be some sort of widget on my phone that
- 23:56Speaker 3: has our brain dump just square in my face instead
- 24:02Speaker 3: of having to actually open the Google Drive to actually
- 24:05Speaker 3: have that there, like I need something.
- 24:08Speaker 1: To just.
- 24:10Speaker 2: How to make that happen?
- 24:12Speaker 3: Yes, please do please do better.
- 24:16Speaker 2: Yet, I'll make Matt look up how to do that,
- 24:18Speaker 2: because he's really good at that stuff.
- 24:20Speaker 3: All right, Well, where do y'all want to go in
- 24:24Speaker 3: first with this? Because do we want to touch on
- 24:28Speaker 3: theatrical movies? Do we want to move to video games?
- 24:32Speaker 2: Not like a movie panel?
- 24:36Speaker 3: Yeah? So what they can Well there's.
- 24:40Speaker 2: I guess yeah.
- 24:41Speaker 1: I mean they haven't like really, I don't think they've
- 24:43Speaker 1: I mean I haven't checked it in a couple of days.
- 24:44Speaker 1: But have they announced like what the other panels are?
- 24:46Speaker 1: I don't think they've announced like what like the smaller
- 24:48Speaker 1: panels are just yet, so they could have you know,
- 24:52Speaker 1: shadow panels or something blah blah blah at something, So
- 24:56Speaker 1: who knows.
- 24:57Speaker 2: Yeah, I've got the panel by our link. That's Celebration
- 25:03Speaker 2: dot Com. Here's so, here's how we're gonna do this.
- 25:11Speaker 2: I think let's go through and let's go movies. TV
- 25:15Speaker 2: shows will go live action and animated, because I think
- 25:19Speaker 2: those are gonna be two different categories. And then we'll
- 25:23Speaker 2: talk books and comics and just kind of break it
- 25:25Speaker 2: down in sections by that guys. Does that work?
- 25:28Speaker 1: Yeah? Sounds good. This is also helping me plan out
- 25:30Speaker 1: my celebrations, so thank you.
- 25:33Speaker 2: That's what I'm here for. We're gonna go into our
- 25:37Speaker 2: second ad break and we'll be right back.
- 25:41Speaker 3: All right. So Katie, why don't you give us your
- 25:46Speaker 3: first one?
- 25:47Speaker 2: All right? So movies, guys, I'm thinking that there's going
- 25:51Speaker 2: to be a trailer presented to celebration. We're not gonna
- 25:56Speaker 2: get that the news the losers who aren't going, but.
- 26:04Speaker 1: Right, we'll say. They made y'all wait a very long
- 26:06Speaker 1: time for the Asoka trailers. It was yo, they gave
- 26:09Speaker 1: it to that, Like they made y'all wait for that, Yeah,
- 26:14Speaker 1: because they were they were vultures about it. So I
- 26:17Speaker 1: don't know.
- 26:18Speaker 2: There and to present the same trailer because we saw
- 26:23Speaker 2: the leaks.
- 26:24Speaker 3: There was there was very few leaks in the very beginning,
- 26:28Speaker 3: and then they all started to get taken down, yeah,
- 26:30Speaker 3: very quickly.
- 26:31Speaker 1: And when they started releasing trailers like a little bit,
- 26:33Speaker 1: and I was like, dude, there's more of that trailer.
- 26:38Speaker 2: And like, I get providing exclusive stuff for the people there,
- 26:43Speaker 2: but people, yeah, I mean, you want people hyped to
- 26:50Speaker 2: go back to theaters for Star Wars, and this is
- 26:53Speaker 2: the big Star Wars event, so it would be nice
- 26:56Speaker 2: if the general public got a trailer. I don't think
- 26:59Speaker 2: it's gonna happen.
- 27:01Speaker 1: Star Wars has a trailer problem anyway, So it's okay.
- 27:04Speaker 3: Yeah, so says the person who doesn't like to watch.
- 27:08Speaker 6: Trailers three three and or trailers bro Like they they
- 27:12Speaker 6: didn't talk about and or at all until like a
- 27:15Speaker 6: month ago, and then they give us like three trailers already, Like.
- 27:20Speaker 2: What happened to promotion from Acolyte?
- 27:23Speaker 1: Yeah, like what are we doing? Like there was they
- 27:26Speaker 1: were just teasing, they were. The trailer for the Acolyte
- 27:29Speaker 1: is like the first like ten minutes and then she's gone,
- 27:33Speaker 1: right like yeah show yeah, nothing in that in those teasers. Yeah.
- 27:36Speaker 1: So I think Star Wars has like a trailer problem,
- 27:39Speaker 1: So I'm hoping that they just show us a teaser
- 27:41Speaker 1: there and like maybe it's just that and they just
- 27:43Speaker 1: show us like early so like when we when we
- 27:45Speaker 1: watched the episodes when when I went, we saw it
- 27:49Speaker 1: maybe like two hours early before like you guys saw
- 27:52Speaker 1: it when it when it released, So it wasn't it
- 27:54Speaker 1: wasn't like we saw it that much earlier for like
- 27:57Speaker 1: the actual episodes. So I think, yeah, just do it
- 27:59Speaker 1: like that. If you're gonna give trailer, just let the
- 28:01Speaker 1: people like geek out about it at like ten am first,
- 28:04Speaker 1: because that's like how early the panels are this year.
- 28:06Speaker 2: Well, and also you're twelve hours ahead in Japan.
- 28:10Speaker 1: Yeah, it's already in the future.
- 28:12Speaker 2: So most of the US is going to be a sleep.
- 28:17Speaker 1: No, it'll be well, I mean East coast, Yeah, you're
- 28:21Speaker 1: kind of you're kind of boned East coast. Yeah, because
- 28:23Speaker 1: I'm I'm because I'm planning to be up to do
- 28:25Speaker 1: some some work for students on the West coast, and
- 28:29Speaker 1: that'll be a ten A in that time is around
- 28:35Speaker 1: what's eight or nine, so me in the evening. Yeah, yeah,
- 28:38Speaker 1: I guess you have to say it too bad just
- 28:40Speaker 1: you know, Chugger red Bull or something, you know.
- 28:42Speaker 3: I mean, so.
- 28:45Speaker 2: You know what a baby does. Schedule.
- 28:48Speaker 3: Well, the thing is the the only good thing is
- 28:52Speaker 3: the fact that this is going to be on a Friday,
- 28:56Speaker 3: So like I think that, so when it says ten am,
- 29:05Speaker 3: it's saying ten am Japan time, Okay, okay, yeah, So
- 29:11Speaker 3: the great thing about it being Friday night I'm probably
- 29:15Speaker 3: still going to be awake on Friday night. I will
- 29:20Speaker 3: be starting to wind down, and what will most likely
- 29:23Speaker 3: happen is I'll be in bed just like this for long.
- 29:27Speaker 1: Yeah, you guys are ten am is nine pm the
- 29:33Speaker 1: previous day east coast six pm the previous for the
- 29:37Speaker 1: for the West coast, So Michon, you can yet because
- 29:42Speaker 1: the panel is not even that long, right, like all
- 29:44Speaker 1: like the big announcements for the panel will be out
- 29:46Speaker 1: super quick.
- 29:47Speaker 3: Yeah, I think.
- 29:49Speaker 1: We'll be out super quick. And then it's just like
- 29:54Speaker 1: the Mandalory didn't grow the one right out like an hour,
- 29:57Speaker 1: so you have to get stay up until save until ten.
- 30:00Speaker 2: Yeah, and like in terms of the news, like maybe
- 30:05Speaker 2: you bring like Sean Levy out for like a discussion
- 30:08Speaker 2: on like the live stage. M I don't see.
- 30:12Speaker 1: There's Yeah, I think I think that'll be where they
- 30:14Speaker 1: where they do a bunch of like the kind of
- 30:16Speaker 1: cooler announcements I hope, since they're so everyone's loving how
- 30:22Speaker 1: much like the I don't know why, Like the metric
- 30:25Speaker 1: of like how many people saw your trailer is the
- 30:27Speaker 1: big thing right now in like media and like critic
- 30:31Speaker 1: media and stuff like who cares how many people like
- 30:33Speaker 1: watch the two minute trailer.
- 30:35Speaker 3: So so it's funny that you say that.
- 30:38Speaker 1: I think I feel like they're going to do that
- 30:39Speaker 1: stuff for like the Live Thing, whatever things they show
- 30:41Speaker 1: on like the Live Thing, I think that they're gonna,
- 30:43Speaker 1: you know, be like, oh if you were watching, just
- 30:46Speaker 1: many people tuned in and YadA.
- 30:49Speaker 3: And it's funny that you say that because there's been
- 30:53Speaker 3: like a thing going on in the GUA chat for
- 30:56Speaker 3: like I want to say, like almost four years now
- 31:00Speaker 3: we've been talking. I think Travis Hines, I'm gonna call
- 31:04Speaker 3: you out there, sir. He's the first one like that
- 31:07Speaker 3: kind of brought it to our attention when it actually
- 31:09Speaker 3: started happening. He's like, oh, but how many watched it
- 31:12Speaker 3: within the first twenty four hours?
- 31:14Speaker 1: Even more so we so you got to be even
- 31:17Speaker 1: more exclusive to watch some.
- 31:19Speaker 3: So it's it's it's been that thing and so we
- 31:23Speaker 3: like we as a group in our podcast group, we've
- 31:26Speaker 3: kind of been kind of paying attention to the numbers
- 31:30Speaker 3: kind of, but it's more so it's turned into a
- 31:32Speaker 3: joke to be like, oh, like does this hit the
- 31:36Speaker 3: correct metric to be?
- 31:37Speaker 1: Yeah, All that tells me is that you like bought
- 31:40Speaker 1: into the thing to get them more ad revenue on YouTube.
- 31:43Speaker 1: Like that's all you did, right, Yeah? I think I
- 31:45Speaker 1: think I figured that out a couple of Super Bowls ago,
- 31:47Speaker 1: and there was like check out the full trailer now
- 31:50Speaker 1: on YouTube after like a ten second ad. I was like, nah, no,
- 31:55Speaker 1: I'm not skipping. I'm not skipping like real life ads
- 31:58Speaker 1: to go to another ad. Yeah, I can't do it.
- 32:01Speaker 1: I can't do it. Yep.
- 32:04Speaker 2: It's definitely ridiculous.
- 32:06Speaker 1: It's out of control. But I think the announcements will
- 32:09Speaker 1: be cool because that will spark speculations on like future stuff,
- 32:13Speaker 1: which I think is the more fun part. It's like
- 32:15Speaker 1: the stuff that we get to do here. So as
- 32:17Speaker 1: long as they're like coming out with like banger announcements,
- 32:19Speaker 1: I'm worried about underwhelming announcements more than anything. I think
- 32:24Speaker 1: when we're talking about predictions, underwhelmed just based on what
- 32:29Speaker 1: the big main stage panels are for this one mm.
- 32:33Speaker 2: Hmmm, because yeah, it's and or Ahsoka, Mand Worry and
- 32:38Speaker 2: Grogu and then the animation panel is like really your big.
- 32:42Speaker 1: Ones, yeah, and that's yeah, and that's like the I mean,
- 32:45Speaker 1: and I'm hyped about all of those things like, don't
- 32:47Speaker 1: get me wrong, like my wife has done a vision's
- 32:50Speaker 1: costplay for every single convention, like one of the ones
- 32:52Speaker 1: we've been to the last couple of years. So like
- 32:54Speaker 1: I'm like, I'm with it, I'm here, I'm super excited.
- 32:57Speaker 1: It's probably the one I'm most excited about, even over Ahsoka,
- 32:59Speaker 1: even over and or even over Mendalorian grow goops. I
- 33:02Speaker 1: think it's like the purest form of the anthology stuff.
- 33:05Speaker 1: It's the playing in the sandbox that's really exciting for me.
- 33:08Speaker 1: But that said, the last couple of years they had
- 33:11Speaker 1: like multiple big panels on each day or like bigger,
- 33:15Speaker 1: bigger announcements on things. So I don't know if it's
- 33:18Speaker 1: going to be a space issue. I don't know if
- 33:19Speaker 1: then you looks like I've never been there, But it
- 33:23Speaker 1: doesn't feel as grand. I think it's just exciting because
- 33:26Speaker 1: there hasn't been one and we haven't got anything. Bitch,
- 33:28Speaker 1: I think we're all just like itching for more announcements.
- 33:33Speaker 3: Well, speaking of Adrian, now it's your turn as far
- 33:37Speaker 3: as movie predictions, how are we feeling? What do you think?
- 33:41Speaker 3: Are you feel in anything extra on the celebration?
- 33:46Speaker 1: What do you think I think that they're probably going
- 33:50Speaker 1: to like end each one of these panels with like
- 33:52Speaker 1: a big announcement for like the next movies is what
- 33:57Speaker 1: I think is going to happen. And I think it's
- 33:59Speaker 1: all going to really focused on this that they promised
- 34:02Speaker 1: last time, that they've been like going back and forth
- 34:04Speaker 1: with with and like the far far past future and
- 34:10Speaker 1: then you know, like that kind of stuff. So that's
- 34:13Speaker 1: where I hope they go. I want more. If you're
- 34:17Speaker 1: gonna give me Star Wars, if you're gonna give me
- 34:18Speaker 1: Jedi and Sith, I want them to give us a
- 34:20Speaker 1: whole bunch of more information on specifically the new the
- 34:26Speaker 1: ten thousand years ago one, Like show me why this
- 34:30Speaker 1: matters so much if you're gonna keep giving me Jedi
- 34:33Speaker 1: and Sith, Like, let's go back to the beginning and
- 34:34Speaker 1: let's see like where this conflict started so we can
- 34:37Speaker 1: like debunk some of these long standing theories about the
- 34:41Speaker 1: Chosen wand and blah blah blah blah blah and all
- 34:44Speaker 1: these things. I want those kind of conversations. So movie predictions,
- 34:47Speaker 1: I hope they give us more on that. We get title,
- 34:50Speaker 1: we get all the things that are gonna matter to
- 34:54Speaker 1: make us happy.
- 34:56Speaker 3: So I my I always reach for the impossible when
- 35:02Speaker 3: it comes to these predictions, just in case it actually happens.
- 35:07Speaker 3: So my question is.
- 35:08Speaker 1: A John Boyega spin off where he gets to be
- 35:10Speaker 1: a Jedi all by himself.
- 35:12Speaker 3: I wish, I wish, But what I will what I
- 35:16Speaker 3: will ask you guys to kind of support my prediction.
- 35:22Speaker 3: How much does Japan love Ryan Gosling.
- 35:28Speaker 2: We talked about him potentially coming out there.
- 35:31Speaker 3: I think I think there's a chance that Sean and
- 35:39Speaker 3: Gosling make an appearance too, Like.
- 35:46Speaker 1: Jeremy showed up for the Enemy. That'd be sick that
- 35:52Speaker 1: I think that was.
- 35:54Speaker 2: Yeah. I could see Sean, I don't see Gosling.
- 36:00Speaker 1: Yeah, he wouldn't be able to move.
- 36:02Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I think they really, especially after Barbie.
- 36:06Speaker 1: Yeah, expecially after Barbie. Oh my god, dude. Yeah, global phenomenon.
- 36:11Speaker 2: So I could see Gosling for like a panel, but
- 36:16Speaker 2: I don't see him going out on like the live
- 36:20Speaker 2: stage at all, like for that conversation or like the
- 36:25Speaker 2: of I that's what I mean when I talk about
- 36:28Speaker 2: live stage. But like I definitely yeah, but I don't
- 36:35Speaker 2: see Gosling.
- 36:37Speaker 1: I don't think so I hope, uh you know who
- 36:39Speaker 1: I want my who you know, my wife wants actually
- 36:42Speaker 1: she wants Adam Driver to show up. So I don't
- 36:47Speaker 1: think I know he wanted. He doesn't want to do anything,
- 36:50Speaker 1: but like, come on, Adam, he is, give the women
- 36:54Speaker 1: what they want.
- 36:56Speaker 3: But that's the thing though, Like so we've seen in
- 36:59Speaker 3: recent years, and I think it's more so like people
- 37:03Speaker 3: kind of let time go by and kind of just
- 37:05Speaker 3: like let the smoke disperse a little bit, and people
- 37:10Speaker 3: who didn't have a whole lot of love for these films,
- 37:16Speaker 3: like because we saw a little bit of animosity from
- 37:20Speaker 3: freaking uh oh my gosh, I thought of his name
- 37:24Speaker 3: and then it just disappeared. Poda ammerings Oscar Isaac, Like
- 37:30Speaker 3: we we saw him kind of give like the like
- 37:33Speaker 3: na to Star Wars films. But then later on he's like, oh, yeah,
- 37:37Speaker 3: you know, maybe I'll keep my door open for if
- 37:40Speaker 3: they ever want to come back. Blah blah blah. Like
- 37:43Speaker 3: who's to say that Adam Driver hasn't said that behind
- 37:46Speaker 3: closed doors? You know, we know we've seen them say
- 37:50Speaker 3: very publicly like hey, no, never again, but you never know.
- 37:57Speaker 1: Just impossible, yeah you never know.
- 38:00Speaker 3: Shoot shoot, but uh, Katie, we we went from movies.
- 38:07Speaker 3: So how about this. I'm going to also start us
- 38:13Speaker 3: off with another prediction, and again I love throwing out
- 38:19Speaker 3: the impossible just in case it happens. Star Wars animated
- 38:29Speaker 3: theatrical teaser.
- 38:31Speaker 2: Live action TV shows us where we're apt. We're not
- 38:34Speaker 2: on animated yet.
- 38:36Speaker 3: I thought we were just doing movies right now.
- 38:38Speaker 2: Movie okay, I thought we had moved to TV.
- 38:42Speaker 3: I said, like, I'm gonna throw another one out there,
- 38:45Speaker 3: and I said, animated theatrical teaser is going to be
- 38:52Speaker 3: thrown out there again, just because I want it. We've
- 38:58Speaker 3: we've had this discussion before, yeap that I think it's
- 39:04Speaker 3: very much possible with of course, uh the idea of
- 39:10Speaker 3: all of these uh tales of coming out and even
- 39:17Speaker 3: the help of Young Jedi Adventures. Again, animation does not
- 39:22Speaker 3: need to be four kids, but still Star Wars is
- 39:26Speaker 3: four kids. I think that an animated theatrical movie would
- 39:34Speaker 3: be amazing. So I'm and I think, I'm I'm going
- 39:38Speaker 3: to throw that.
- 39:39Speaker 1: No no, no, you sold me and I don't. I
- 39:40Speaker 1: don't think it's as crazy as you think, because we're
- 39:42Speaker 1: in what three seasons of Young Jedi Adventures. Every kid
- 39:46Speaker 1: who I like, all my friends kids who have kids
- 39:48Speaker 1: around that age love Young Jedi Adventures, who are Star
- 39:50Speaker 1: Wars fans. They love it. You know all the characters.
- 39:52Speaker 1: Like my niece probably knows more about Young Jedi Adventures
- 39:55Speaker 1: than I do because you watch that thing like so much.
- 40:00Speaker 1: Make a theatrical movie, go the Paw Patrol Route or whatever,
- 40:03Speaker 1: and give us a theatrical movie based on where they're at.
- 40:06Speaker 1: People will have to go back and watch three seasons
- 40:09Speaker 1: of Young Jedi Adventures. Gives them more streams, whatever. But
- 40:12Speaker 1: then you also get to see the High republican different light.
- 40:14Speaker 1: You get to see Yoda not being such a person
- 40:17Speaker 1: who makes bad decisions, and then you get a bunch
- 40:20Speaker 1: of like diversity. You get the cute animals. Everybody loves
- 40:23Speaker 1: nugs or whatever. The yeah, everyone loves nubs, right, So
- 40:29Speaker 1: is that crazy? I really don't think it's that crazy.
- 40:31Speaker 1: They should do it, you gotta do i'm aa pitch it.
- 40:34Speaker 2: The Paw Patrol Route is a good thing to bring up,
- 40:38Speaker 2: because that does get them the kids in theaters, which
- 40:43Speaker 2: is what Star Wars on.
- 40:44Speaker 1: More importantly, it gets kids and adults in theaters because
- 40:48Speaker 1: you know all of us are going to be there.
- 40:49Speaker 1: I don't even have a kid, and I'm gonna be there,
- 40:52Speaker 1: which you mean, I'm seeing it at my local draft
- 40:54Speaker 1: house at like ten am when there's no kids in
- 40:56Speaker 1: there and it's just adults like you, like us going
- 41:00Speaker 1: to see some lower be expanded, you know. So I
- 41:03Speaker 1: don't think it's that crazy and supersedes what I wanted.
- 41:06Speaker 1: This is more fun, which is what it's all about
- 41:09Speaker 1: to begin with.
- 41:10Speaker 3: So let's do it all, right, Katie, Now, television, what
- 41:14Speaker 3: do you think?
- 41:15Speaker 2: Okay? So I definitely can see exclusive and or footage,
- 41:23Speaker 2: maybe even like the first ten minutes of the episode
- 41:26Speaker 2: or something. I would one hundred percent bet that, not
- 41:31Speaker 2: just the first ten minutes. I really think it's yeah,
- 41:35Speaker 2: you're gonna and or the first three episodes are going
- 41:39Speaker 2: to premiere at celebration and then we'll get them.
- 41:46Speaker 1: They mean they mean for Kenobe, they bumped it, right,
- 41:49Speaker 1: they they bumped it back two hours and people were
- 41:51Speaker 1: already talking about it, So that's true. It came to
- 41:53Speaker 1: the people. So just bitch about it online and they'll
- 41:56Speaker 1: they'll do it.
- 41:57Speaker 2: Basically, I could see potentially some Ahsoka footage since they
- 42:04Speaker 2: just started shooting, and maybe they put something together like
- 42:08Speaker 2: Reeves did.
- 42:09Speaker 1: For they did the Phantom we No, they did something
- 42:13Speaker 1: that for THEHSOCA, like what like six four weeks into
- 42:16Speaker 1: into shooting. Yeah, on video, she's like, oh, hey, we're
- 42:19Speaker 1: just already. She came like, oh, we're here, but we
- 42:21Speaker 1: just like started shooting. But here's like the first like
- 42:25Speaker 1: here's like a minute teaser and that's all we needed.
- 42:27Speaker 1: And they need to get anything until the next celebration,
- 42:29Speaker 1: so they perfinitely they can pump it out if they
- 42:32Speaker 1: want to. They love a trailer, right, so if they
- 42:34Speaker 1: want to make a trailer, they'll shoot for a trailer
- 42:37Speaker 1: for Simon.
- 42:38Speaker 2: Yeah, so I definitely see that happening. I'm hopeful that
- 42:44Speaker 2: we will get another live action show announcement because after
- 42:49Speaker 2: and Or, the only thing we have on the docket
- 42:51Speaker 2: is Ahsoka, so leading in somewhere to the next show
- 42:57Speaker 2: wherever it may be in the galaxy timeline kind of thing.
- 43:05Speaker 2: Those are kind of my simple live action stuff.
- 43:09Speaker 1: Yeah, Adrian, what about you, I'll SOAKA season two or
- 43:17Speaker 1: Actlite season two. That would be the dream. I don't
- 43:22Speaker 1: want anything else. You can you can announce, you can
- 43:26Speaker 1: announce like the best Bounty Hunter live action show, and
- 43:30Speaker 1: it still wouldn't be as excited as Act Lite season two.
- 43:34Speaker 2: You you know, how to break the internet and go
- 43:36Speaker 2: viral in that moment.
- 43:39Speaker 1: I really do, I really do hope they're holding it.
- 43:41Speaker 1: I do. I hope they're holding it close to their
- 43:43Speaker 1: chest and they do it.
- 43:46Speaker 2: Even like some forgiven like some sort of finisher.
- 43:52Speaker 1: Yeah, or you don't have to call it act like
- 43:53Speaker 1: season two, like give me call it, call it the Stranger,
- 43:56Speaker 1: you know, like, yeah, you'll have pitched, have it be
- 43:59Speaker 1: a spinoff, don't call at the act Lite, you know,
- 44:01Speaker 1: focus on the Asian man. Still, it's not perfect, it's
- 44:05Speaker 1: not much. Rather just have like a straight up Act
- 44:07Speaker 1: Lite season two. But that story, that Star Wars story
- 44:10Speaker 1: needs to continue, and that.
- 44:12Speaker 2: Still gets you the continuation they were so hyped on
- 44:17Speaker 2: Many Many was one of the first people say he's
- 44:22Speaker 2: going to be there.
- 44:22Speaker 3: I'm gonna go meet.
- 44:25Speaker 1: Meet him.
- 44:28Speaker 2: He's a badass.
- 44:29Speaker 1: I know I'm going to He's not sold out yet,
- 44:31Speaker 1: And I was like, how are you not sold out?
- 44:33Speaker 1: How does not how does everybody not want to meet you?
- 44:35Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm gonna ask a favor of you. And this
- 44:38Speaker 3: is gonna sound weird, but I just I just want
- 44:40Speaker 3: you to do it. I need you to just take
- 44:43Speaker 3: a picture of your head next to his bicep, just
- 44:49Speaker 3: how monstrous that thing is.
- 44:52Speaker 2: It's probably not monstrous in this.
- 44:57Speaker 3: I'm sorry that well. I was gonna to say, if
- 45:00Speaker 3: I got that toned, I would hate to lose it,
- 45:05Speaker 3: so I would just like keep going.
- 45:08Speaker 1: I'm just thinking about he's also he's also, uh the
- 45:12Speaker 1: I think of I always ill always think, well, I
- 45:16Speaker 1: don't know, I guess after the hot tub scene, maybe not,
- 45:18Speaker 1: but like I always think of a good place when
- 45:22Speaker 1: I see him. So I'm gonna talk to him about
- 45:23Speaker 1: the Jaguars and yeah, see what suns.
- 45:26Speaker 3: I love that show, man, I love that show.
- 45:29Speaker 2: It's a good show.
- 45:32Speaker 3: TV TV. I'll be completely honest with you. My first
- 45:36Speaker 3: prediction when I was thinking about this, when we actually
- 45:39Speaker 3: planned for it, when I actually remembered it, my first prediction,
- 45:44Speaker 3: my first thoughts on the possibility of any TV announcements,
- 45:50Speaker 3: it was really sad. I was like, Star Wars TV
- 45:53Speaker 3: is dead, and it just breaks my heart to think that,
- 45:58Speaker 3: Like I don't want it to be, but like I
- 46:02Speaker 3: the idea and the only small glimmer of hope that
- 46:05Speaker 3: I have is like, of course we all hear Disney
- 46:11Speaker 3: saying like, oh, we're gonna, you know, step back. We're
- 46:14Speaker 3: not gonna put as much content out do blah blah
- 46:16Speaker 3: blah blah blah. And then you have Marvel Studios and
- 46:21Speaker 3: Disney saying, hey, we're gonna hold back, We're not gonna
- 46:24Speaker 3: put as much stuff out. Hey, by the way, you're
- 46:26Speaker 3: getting seven projects from the MCU next year.
- 46:32Speaker 1: Okay, bye.
- 46:33Speaker 3: Like so I'm like, there's hope, there's hope, if if
- 46:36Speaker 3: if that's what if, that's what it means to step back, Like, hey,
- 46:42Speaker 3: let's Lucasfilm. Let's step back and get like four projects
- 46:48Speaker 3: out there. You know, I'm cool with back, I will say,
- 46:55Speaker 3: outside of course of Tales of the Underworld, because ever
- 47:02Speaker 3: since I did read about the Path.
- 47:06Speaker 2: Are we moving to you animated? Is this your well?
- 47:11Speaker 1: It sounds like it.
- 47:12Speaker 3: No, no, no, I want live action the Path.
- 47:18Speaker 2: Ah.
- 47:19Speaker 3: Ever since ever since Obi Wan saw the carvings, ever
- 47:26Speaker 3: since I read ever since Katie was like, you need
- 47:28Speaker 3: to read this book. I read the book and I
- 47:34Speaker 3: want a live action Path show and like it, Like, yeah,
- 47:42Speaker 3: it could be fun to make it like a episode
- 47:46Speaker 3: by episodes, long story, but even if you were to
- 47:50Speaker 3: do a live action anthology of the Path to show
- 47:56Speaker 3: through time between the moment of the rise of the
- 48:02Speaker 3: Empire until the Path was no longer needed. Like, I
- 48:09Speaker 3: think that within itself would be really fun.
- 48:13Speaker 1: Dude, do it like a crime drama. Take it super
- 48:17Speaker 1: freaking seriously. Take it super freaking seriously, like you're taking
- 48:22Speaker 1: end or seriously so we think about the ramifications of
- 48:25Speaker 1: Order sixty six. Yeah, and you do it super serious. Yeah.
- 48:28Speaker 1: I like that.
- 48:29Speaker 3: Yeah. Like you you look into like the the danger
- 48:39Speaker 3: and the fear and like, oh am I gonna make
- 48:41Speaker 3: it like you get super intense with it, and I think.
- 48:46Speaker 1: It works, you know. Yeah.
- 48:49Speaker 2: No.
- 48:49Speaker 1: Yeah. One of like the best games I played at
- 48:51Speaker 1: at GDC was a game called Take Us North, and
- 48:56Speaker 1: it's basically about the gear Us the Mexican the Mexican
- 49:02Speaker 1: people typically who help with the immigration, And it's basically
- 49:09Speaker 1: like picture death stranding where you're just doing a lot
- 49:11Speaker 1: of walking, but you're doing a lot of walking based
- 49:14Speaker 1: on like real immigrant stories, specifically from the nogles like
- 49:19Speaker 1: Arizona Area, Gorgeous. It's fantastic, man. I did an interview
- 49:25Speaker 1: with the developer there. It's one of my favorite games
- 49:27Speaker 1: ever that I that I played there, and I'm thinking
- 49:30Speaker 1: about how that, like, how that kind of stuff would
- 49:32Speaker 1: hit for this, like we all think about like Order
- 49:34Speaker 1: sixty six and like how tragic we I hate or
- 49:37Speaker 1: sixty sixties. I'm so tired of them no more. I
- 49:39Speaker 1: don't want to see no more kids nine. I've done.
- 49:43Speaker 1: It's two, it's not It's not a detachment anymore. Right,
- 49:46Speaker 1: So show me the show me the real stories, right,
- 49:53Speaker 1: show me, like the real stories of of someone like
- 49:57Speaker 1: Calkessis survivors. Yeah, the survivors who didn't who didn't have
- 50:00Speaker 1: the benefit of the path, right, and how they didn't. Yeah,
- 50:04Speaker 1: I'm with it, man, Yeah, you pissed a good one there.
- 50:06Speaker 1: I want it. Yeah, do it super serious, give me
- 50:10Speaker 1: Narco's crime drama, whatever, whatever genre you to describe it.
- 50:13Speaker 1: But I think that's when Star Wars works best, when
- 50:15Speaker 1: you like take Star Wars, put it in a genre
- 50:18Speaker 1: and let it run.
- 50:20Speaker 3: Yep, all right, Katie, what's next on the docket?
- 50:25Speaker 2: Animated and we're about to jump into our third ad y'all.
- 50:30Speaker 2: We promised we'll be right back, we promise. So I
- 50:34Speaker 2: think y'all are gonna see probably at least one episode
- 50:40Speaker 2: of Visions Volume three because that's been like very traditional
- 50:46Speaker 2: for celebration. I have, like there was an episode in
- 50:48Speaker 2: London and stuff, So I'm thinking that I think we
- 50:57Speaker 2: will potentially it should get a Visions trailer, because we've
- 51:06Speaker 2: gotten a trailer for Visions not necessary. Have we gotten
- 51:11Speaker 2: the names of the shorts before.
- 51:16Speaker 1: They gave it to like after Celebration? They did, but
- 51:20Speaker 1: I don't think that we have them now.
- 51:21Speaker 2: Again, we don't have them now.
- 51:23Speaker 1: Yeah, Okay, we might get them then yeah, or people
- 51:29Speaker 1: or people will know by like the animation style that
- 51:32Speaker 1: they'll be able to peg the studio when they see them.
- 51:36Speaker 2: So yeah, So I would picture that, plus getting a
- 51:42Speaker 2: release date for Visions because we don't have that currently.
- 51:49Speaker 2: And then the other.
- 51:50Speaker 7: Thing I'm hoping is that we get the next I'm
- 51:56Speaker 7: gonna use adult in quotation marks, but adult Animated show announcement.
- 52:05Speaker 2: So whether that's the sequel to the Bad Badge or
- 52:08Speaker 2: something else, I'm hoping it's something else because I think
- 52:13Speaker 2: we're all really tired of nineteen bb why to zero bby?
- 52:18Speaker 2: So yeah, that's what I'm thinking for animation.
- 52:25Speaker 1: So for me, the Tales of the Clones, I want,
- 52:31Speaker 1: I want a clone story. I want for the Clone
- 52:35Speaker 1: Commandos who are done dirty and the Bad Betch. Like
- 52:37Speaker 1: the only thing I don't like back Bad Batch is
- 52:40Speaker 1: how they kind of just forget about the Clone Commandos
- 52:42Speaker 1: and they're just bad, I guess for some reason. But
- 52:44Speaker 1: they're also controlled, but we don't care about them for
- 52:46Speaker 1: some reason.
- 52:47Speaker 3: They played really good with it in season two and
- 52:54Speaker 3: a little bit well was it season two or season
- 52:57Speaker 3: one where they.
- 52:59Speaker 1: Season three is when they kill scorch Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 53:04Speaker 1: biggest problem and for like we went from like no
- 53:08Speaker 1: shooting Clones the only shooting Clone Commandos for some reason.
- 53:11Speaker 2: Yea.
- 53:12Speaker 1: But my my my thing is is that when we
- 53:14Speaker 1: see the Clones, even in you know, the Veteran Clone,
- 53:22Speaker 1: that that we see like there's so many ways that
- 53:25Speaker 1: we can go. And one of the big things for
- 53:28Speaker 1: the Bad Batch was like the Clone stuff going on
- 53:31Speaker 1: with Senator Chucci and like the political stuff going on
- 53:34Speaker 1: there that's like never like really kind of shown. We're
- 53:37Speaker 1: just kind of we just like assume that they they
- 53:39Speaker 1: lose out and then they're just screwed forever. So something
- 53:42Speaker 1: about the Clones in that anthology of maybe because you
- 53:46Speaker 1: can also just do it like on we can get
- 53:48Speaker 1: answers for so many different clones on where where are they? Yeah,
- 53:53Speaker 1: that's what I want for animated. I like it.
- 53:58Speaker 3: I like it.
- 53:58Speaker 1: I like it.
- 53:59Speaker 3: I have been wanning this since the very first Visions season.
- 54:08Speaker 3: We're in Japan. I think it's gonna happen. I think
- 54:13Speaker 3: it's gonna happen. I don't think this is just a prediction.
- 54:15Speaker 3: I think I am sharing the future ninth Jedi full
- 54:23Speaker 3: anime animated movie announcement.
- 54:26Speaker 1: Whether that.
- 54:29Speaker 3: Why this one? No, Adrian don't what.
- 54:35Speaker 1: I don't know. There's just like there's just that was
- 54:38Speaker 1: just Star Wars, right, that was just like it was.
- 54:43Speaker 1: But like I think it would take too Like the world,
- 54:46Speaker 1: the world building there's too big. I think I think
- 54:48Speaker 1: you would have. I would much rather a series like
- 54:52Speaker 1: like like a full full ninth Jedi series. Yeah, like
- 54:57Speaker 1: where you build out this world of all of these
- 55:00Speaker 1: different kinds of I think that that would that would
- 55:02Speaker 1: be it. But I mean it could work. But like
- 55:06Speaker 1: when I thought you're gonna see I thought you were
- 55:08Speaker 1: gonna say the Ronan because oh see, specifically because they
- 55:11Speaker 1: have the manga, they have the other thing, like they're
- 55:14Speaker 1: they're hard in on, like they really.
- 55:16Speaker 3: Are I would not be disappointed if they wanted to
- 55:21Speaker 3: adapt that novel. Did you ever read that novel?
- 55:26Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah, I think yeah, that was.
- 55:29Speaker 3: That was the most confusing, most beautiful adaptation of what
- 55:34Speaker 3: the idea of Star Wars could be. Like, yeah, I
- 55:38Speaker 3: loved that book.
- 55:40Speaker 2: That's where I'm like, I don't want a Dual Ronan
- 55:47Speaker 2: sequel because I love that novel so much.
- 55:51Speaker 1: Well, I mean I think like just like that universe
- 55:53Speaker 1: more than anything is where.
- 55:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 55:55Speaker 1: Yeah, like that style, like the very you know.
- 55:59Speaker 3: Like the use of the truest.
- 56:01Speaker 1: The truest form, the truest inspirations done in in in that.
- 56:05Speaker 1: So yeah, I would love that. I mean honestly, any
- 56:08Speaker 1: of them, if I'm being honest, I think most of
- 56:10Speaker 1: them might probably be okay with I think the ninth
- 56:13Speaker 1: Jedi is Night is good. I like the Night Jed.
- 56:16Speaker 1: I don't know why I react like that, but I
- 56:17Speaker 1: was just like, oh that. I was like, it's not
- 56:23Speaker 1: the one, It's not the one I thought. It's just
- 56:25Speaker 1: maybe it's like everyone loves this one.
- 56:27Speaker 3: There's other ones that I like. Like When I think
- 56:30Speaker 3: of Visions, of course, I think of the Duel because
- 56:33Speaker 3: that was like the biggest hype of like, hey, this
- 56:35Speaker 3: is what this could end up being, right, And then
- 56:39Speaker 3: my second thought is always ninth Jedi. My third and
- 56:43Speaker 3: fourth thought. My third thought is the fact that we
- 56:46Speaker 3: got somebody who wielded a lightsaber the size of a
- 56:49Speaker 3: planet that is super ridiculous, stupid and amazingly awesome. So
- 56:58Speaker 3: like I.
- 56:58Speaker 1: Always think like the lights favor problem on a million
- 57:02Speaker 1: to exactly and then scary and then.
- 57:08Speaker 3: Uh my, the other one that I think of, uh
- 57:11Speaker 3: is and I I always intend on buying the little
- 57:15Speaker 3: Golden Book of it and I always forget to actually
- 57:18Speaker 3: grab it is the uh, the a U, the Astro mech,
- 57:23Speaker 3: the uh Toby Toby. Yeah, it's like it's it's it's Astro.
- 57:30Speaker 3: It's the retelling of Astro boy in a Star Wars setting.
- 57:35Speaker 3: Like it's absolutely amazing. I love the story of Toby,
- 57:41Speaker 3: so like I think of those four things when I
- 57:44Speaker 3: think of visions, and I could see all four of
- 57:46Speaker 3: those having some sort of extended story. Yeah.
- 57:51Speaker 1: And the cool thing is is like that's on those
- 57:53Speaker 1: are mine?
- 57:54Speaker 2: Man?
- 57:54Speaker 1: I think of are that dude?
- 57:58Speaker 3: That universe was so lopen oo is also so good.
- 58:01Speaker 1: Man, cool man. And then even in like season two.
- 58:04Speaker 1: I think Screecher's Reaches premise is probably my favorite out
- 58:08Speaker 1: of that whole thing. Dude, I want to know what
- 58:10Speaker 1: happened to that little girl so bad. Oh, I want
- 58:13Speaker 1: to know what happened to her. I want to know
- 58:16Speaker 1: everything about that just sounds so great. And but again,
- 58:18Speaker 1: that's why I'm so sorry for for season for volume three,
- 58:22Speaker 1: because we're gonna get so many different things, and even
- 58:24Speaker 1: if I just get comics of these things, I'd be happy,
- 58:26Speaker 1: if I'm being honest, So give me, Like, if you're
- 58:29Speaker 1: gonna destroy Dark Disciple, at least give me some cool
- 58:32Speaker 1: comics of some stuff that we're keeping around at least
- 58:34Speaker 1: or something, you know.
- 58:35Speaker 3: Yeah, all right, kay uh? I think this next one
- 58:42Speaker 3: will be one of the last ones.
- 58:43Speaker 2: Correct, Yes, so publishing. So we have a Random House
- 58:50Speaker 2: Worlds panel, I think, like a Random House World specific one,
- 58:56Speaker 2: and then we have a manga specific panel, and.
- 59:03Speaker 1: Then yes, the Lost Stars is fantastic on the manga.
- 59:10Speaker 1: I don't know if you guys, If you guys have
- 59:11Speaker 1: that one.
- 59:12Speaker 2: I need to get that one because I love that story.
- 59:17Speaker 2: That story is so good. Okay, maybe the Random House
- 59:21Speaker 2: world so maybe there's only two panels. The manga one,
- 59:24Speaker 2: and then we have like a general publishing one between Disney,
- 59:28Speaker 2: Marvel and Lucasfilm uh and Random House Worlds. So I'm
- 59:35Speaker 2: hoping for an Adam Christopher novel because Adam Christopher is
- 59:38Speaker 2: going and I love Shadow of the Sith. I loved
- 59:43Speaker 2: it with all my heart, so I'm really hoping he
- 59:46Speaker 2: gets to make another novel. Let me see who else
- 59:50Speaker 2: is going. I'm excited for the sequel trilogy manga that
- 59:56Speaker 2: we're getting. The foulnd Lightsaber I think is what it's called.
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: Oh that's right, yeah, yeah, yeah, So with that one
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: with the manga panel, I think Edge of Balance. Well,
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: I haven't necessarily enjoyed the story there. I think a
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: lot of people have and it's been really successful, so
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: I'm excited to see what continues to come out of that.
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: Yeah. I'm thinking about like what I want to announce
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: on the manga panel. Literally everything, every single Star Wars story.
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: I would love it in the manga. I don't have
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: all of it, dude, I would want all of it. Yeah.
- 1:00:34Speaker 3: Now, one thing that I would really love I haven't
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: had the chance to actually look into it, but there
- 1:00:45Speaker 3: has been some that I actually have read, so like,
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: there's two, i think three DC mangas that are going
- 1:00:54Speaker 3: out concurrently right now. There's one Superman one and two
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: Batman related ones. One is a story about Joker accidentally
- 1:01:03Speaker 3: turning Bruce or Batman into a baby and he has
- 1:01:06Speaker 3: to raise Batman Uham What was that the Star Wars
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: is this?
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: Is it Batman Diama like in the Dragon Ball Dima.
- 1:01:15Speaker 3: Yeah, basically like he he he changed him into a kid,
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: and then he's like, oh, like I have no like
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: worse than my living I have to raise him to
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: be the best Batman so we can fight again. It's
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: a really silly book. Then there's one called Justice Buster,
- 1:01:32Speaker 3: and it's like just badass Batman book. But these are
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: all created by actual Japanese mangakas taking an ip of American. So, like,
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: what I would really love more than anything is two
- 1:01:50Speaker 3: get some sort of Star Wars story and get actual
- 1:01:56Speaker 3: Japanese mangakas to adapt those stories and or create their
- 1:02:01Speaker 3: own stories in Star Wars kind of like what we're
- 1:02:03Speaker 3: getting in visions, but in a manga format. I think
- 1:02:08Speaker 3: that would be Yeah. I think that within itself would
- 1:02:16Speaker 3: really get people who are interested in Star Wars but
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: are like, Okay, I like Visions, but I do like manga,
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: and I'm not really feeling the Edge of Balance story
- 1:02:30Speaker 3: because the one thing that bothers me about Edge of
- 1:02:32Speaker 3: Balance is I was so confused. I was going on
- 1:02:36Speaker 3: a manga kick when that first came out and I
- 1:02:40Speaker 3: grabbed it and I started to read it the way
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: that you read regular manga, and it didn't make sense
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: because they still made it in the form of how
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: you read traditional comics. So it was like, Oh, you're
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: just giving it the kind of aesthetic but not really
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: telling it in the story of a regular manga unquote
- 1:03:00Speaker 3: regular manga, which is where I would want japan and
- 1:03:06Speaker 3: Star Wars to take it. Is like, make a traditional
- 1:03:10Speaker 3: mang the.
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: Book with it. I would want to be traditional, but
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: you also just have Yeah, I got to point back
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: to the fan base. These dudes can't even use chopsticks. Bro,
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: you think they're gonna learn how to read manga correctly
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: if you're not like a hardcore manga person already. I mean,
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: I guess that's true. It's tough. I think that, but
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: I think I like the idea though, having completely different
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: stories that you can only get if you buy a
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: manga is dope.
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: I like that, yeah, because that's one of my and
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: it's not necessarily like a bad thing. But that's one
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: of my critiques with Haunted Starlight is like we need
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: to kind of stick in the realm of Okay, these
- 1:03:51Speaker 2: stories in these different formats are interchange, are like connected
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: as one, so I don't have to go buy an original.
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: Unless unless you just do it like Visions where it's
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: just start, where it's just stories, right, and then you
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: don't have to. And then I think that's what you
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: mentioned at the beginning, Clay about like that pitch care
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: of your Lightsaber issue, that takes care of your Skywalker
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: issue because none of it matters, not even's canon. There's
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: no Mundays, and I.
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: Would be fine with that. Yeah, Like but I think
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: that that's part of my issue with Edge of Balance
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: is it doesn't feel as connected, but it still feels
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: like it has to be connected. Like this isn't like
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: a huge spoiler, but Edge of Balance Vloume three is
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: brought up and into the light for what happens because
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: and As are in there, so it's like brought up
- 1:04:42Speaker 2: as a connection and it's just like.
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: You should have known, you should have known, Katie, I.
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: Know, and I read everything. I read everything, but it's like, okay,
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: but how do I remember all this stuff?
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: So I talk to your phone like I do and
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: just like take a voice note.
- 1:05:01Speaker 3: I read the first.
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: Twelve chapters of Into the Light last night, and I
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: had to google so many people on Wikipedia. Anyways, Okay,
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: so the book publishing panel, so the non manca one
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: has Adam Christopher, Tessa Gratton who is probably talking about Accite,
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: Crystal Crown, Mark Guggenheim, probably talking about his Jedi Night comic,
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: run Lydia Kang, unknown what she's currently doing. Okay, Adam
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: Christopher as well, unknown what he's currently doing. Ethan Zach's
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: probably talking about his comic with podammeron Phil Zozak Comics,
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: Alyssa Long unknown what they are currently doing. And then
- 1:05:51Speaker 2: Marvel's Cebe Sebolski, the editor in chief of Marvel Comics,
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: will also be present. So it's kind of a wide
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: range of what could happen. There's definitely Disney here, but
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: there's also Random House, but there's also Marvel and dark Horse.
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: So I'm hopeful for an Adam Christopher novel. Like that's
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: the dream, right, there out of that panel. If that happens,
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: I'm going to be super happy Lydia King. I also
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: really enjoyed her Higher Republic novel, so I would be
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: down for her to have another novel. And I love
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: what alyssa long his ring, so I would love for
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: them to get a novel or another comic.
- 1:06:33Speaker 3: So yeah, m hmm, agent, what do you what do
- 1:06:37Speaker 3: you think?
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: I think I think for for publication, and I think
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: publication has to be very specific for me to go
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: to go do it because it feels like I'm like
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: grabbing a book from a shelf right and if I'm
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: in a library sometimes I sometimes I want to pick
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: up and read. But I like listening more than I
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: like reading these days. So what do I want to
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: listen to the most? For me? I think would be
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: because common stuff are always always going to be there.
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: I would I'm gonna go with Clay and take your
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: dream for the impossible, but I want a Finn book.
- 1:07:09Speaker 2: Yeah, okay. Because this is the latest publishing news from
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: the prequel trilogy to the sequel trilogy and beyond, including
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: news on the grand finale of the High Republic.
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: Everyone else has gotten a comic, well like everyone else
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: from like the main cast has gotten a comic right
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: and really hasn't gotten nearly as much. And Fish after
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: his comments recently, you know, you know, you know, give
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: give it, give it to us, man. We want it,
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: we want it.
- 1:07:35Speaker 3: Yeah. I like that. I think that a lot. As
- 1:07:43Speaker 3: far as publishing, I mean, Katie we said as soon
- 1:07:47Speaker 3: as we got finished with Lydia King's book, like she
- 1:07:52Speaker 3: needs to do more Star Wars. I need to go
- 1:07:55Speaker 3: searching for the stuff that she has done outside of
- 1:07:59Speaker 3: Star Wars. Since I've on such a big book kick recently,
- 1:08:02Speaker 3: I want to see what else is in her repertoire.
- 1:08:06Speaker 3: But I would really love to see her do more.
- 1:08:11Speaker 3: I think for the fact that Uh Seboski is there.
- 1:08:17Speaker 3: I just recently pre ordered UH issue one of their
- 1:08:23Speaker 3: renumbering of Star Wars, so if I would have to
- 1:08:28Speaker 3: take a guess, the very first like major event of
- 1:08:32Speaker 3: that run is going to be announced from Sebowski uh
- 1:08:38Speaker 3: and whoever is going to be writing it. I also
- 1:08:42Speaker 3: agree with the idea of Christopher Adam Christopher uh reading
- 1:08:49Speaker 3: or sorry, writing another novel because his was absolutely amazing,
- 1:08:58Speaker 3: you know, taking the story of Luke Skywalker in a
- 1:09:03Speaker 3: time where people were screaming at the top of their lungs.
- 1:09:07Speaker 3: We need Luke between this time and this time, and
- 1:09:10Speaker 3: we need to know what he was doing. It really
- 1:09:14Speaker 3: did like they're like, fine, here it is and this
- 1:09:18Speaker 3: is amazing. I need like a man needs water to live.
- 1:09:30Speaker 3: I need the same way that back in the olden
- 1:09:39Speaker 3: days where Star Wars novels were just being pumped in
- 1:09:42Speaker 3: left and right for what is now legends. I need
- 1:09:49Speaker 3: that exact same thing to happen with High Republic. I
- 1:09:54Speaker 3: need there to be novels being pushed left and right
- 1:10:00Speaker 3: of random stories of my favorite time in Star Wars.
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: I don't think that's gonna happen for a couple of years.
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: They're gonna give it time to marinate and then other dreams. Katie,
- 1:10:16Speaker 2: this is a conversation. No, So I googled lydia account
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: because I couldn't remember what she's a doctor of. She's
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: an internal medicine professor and a practicing doctor along with
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: writing all the stuff that she does. And on her
- 1:10:31Speaker 2: homepage of her website she has exciting book news coming soon.
- 1:10:35Speaker 3: So ah love it?
- 1:10:41Speaker 2: Very exciting? All right? So shall we is at everything?
- 1:10:48Speaker 2: Anything else that we want to talk about with Star
- 1:10:50Speaker 2: Wars Celebration.
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: I don't think so, but I haven't listened to the
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: book yet, so I think this might be where I
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: step out. I also need to run to CBS before
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: they close to get my meds that I'm going to
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: need for opinion. All right, but yeah, sorry, we kind
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: of just like yeahed for like a lot longer than that.
- 1:11:05Speaker 3: We're going to Yeah, well before apologies, but before you
- 1:11:10Speaker 3: jump off. Always let let people know where they can
- 1:11:13Speaker 3: find you. Have you written anything recently?
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: I've written a bunch of stuff over it, But why
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: though dot net for GDC lots of really great reviews
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: on some of our favorite games are gonna be coming
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: out here pretty soon, just to name a couple, sunder Folk,
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: Winter Burrow, Hella, Steel Hunters, Uh, so many great games
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: coming out take us North, so many great games coming
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: out that I'm writing over there. And then just expect
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: some some thoughts for Star Wars Celebration once they announce
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: stuff I'm gonna be talking about. I'm gonna thinking about
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: you guys.
- 1:11:47Speaker 3: Awesome.
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: I can't wait.
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: Yeah, on everything that's where you can find me.
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: Yes, We'll have in the description below.
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: Always yes, always, always all guys, how we go one guys,
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: talk to you guys soon.
- 1:12:02Speaker 2: H And this should be our final ad break. So
- 1:12:07Speaker 2: y'all thanks for bearing with us. We appreciate y'all. We'll
- 1:12:10Speaker 2: be right back. We gotta get this out of the
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: way there. And because this is not a George Mann
- 1:12:20Speaker 2: problem or a production problem with Audible, this is a
- 1:12:28Speaker 2: story group publication problem. There have been too many things
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: to follow for the High Republic to get the overall story.
- 1:12:42Speaker 3: Yes and no specifically for this, and it kind of
- 1:12:48Speaker 3: annoyed me. This audi I was gonna say, book this
- 1:12:58Speaker 3: audio this you know audible? Yeah, this audible original.
- 1:13:06Speaker 2: In like.
- 1:13:08Speaker 3: One chapter after the other. One was in the part where,
- 1:13:15Speaker 3: uh the I forgot his name already, the dude no,
- 1:13:21Speaker 3: not cam the uh the dude who gets uh all
- 1:13:30Speaker 3: freaking uh not.
- 1:13:34Speaker 2: I know who you're talking they who's like the villain
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: of this one?
- 1:13:42Speaker 3: Is it Zaxel?
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: Maybe that sounds familiar.
- 1:13:47Speaker 3: I think it is Zaxel, all right, zaxl He he
- 1:13:51Speaker 3: gets all drink geared. Right before he gets dring geared,
- 1:13:58Speaker 3: there is like a good two minutes of like, hey,
- 1:14:03Speaker 3: if you didn't read Seeds of Starlight, here's the backstory,
- 1:14:09Speaker 3: and then the very next chapter it's in the perspective
- 1:14:14Speaker 3: of or at least it's it's it's on the side
- 1:14:16Speaker 3: of our Jedi children, right, yeah, it's in it's it's
- 1:14:20Speaker 3: uh freaking yeah, it's killed on tiptep and they're like
- 1:14:26Speaker 3: messing around doing stuff. And then there's a good two
- 1:14:29Speaker 3: minutes that's like, hey, if you didn't read or listen
- 1:14:33Speaker 3: to Seeds of Starlight, this is what happens. And it's
- 1:14:37Speaker 3: immediately aft like one after the other, and I'm like, guys,
- 1:14:42Speaker 3: you just you just did this.
- 1:14:45Speaker 2: Yeah, Like this whole thing is four and a half
- 1:14:48Speaker 2: hours in total length basically, and like there's too much
- 1:14:54Speaker 2: time spent on Hey, let's tell the story over, because
- 1:14:59Speaker 2: the one thing that you should not have to tell
- 1:15:02Speaker 2: over is the prequel to the story you're telling. Yeah,
- 1:15:08Speaker 2: like you should not have to tell that story. That's
- 1:15:11Speaker 2: the one thing that I can at least appreciate. With
- 1:15:14Speaker 2: the other ones, like Temptation of the Force did not
- 1:15:17Speaker 2: dive into Eye of the Storm stuff. They dove into
- 1:15:21Speaker 2: other stories like Defy the Storm and all this other stuff,
- 1:15:27Speaker 2: but it did not have to dive into the prequel
- 1:15:32Speaker 2: because of that publication. Because the expectation is is if
- 1:15:38Speaker 2: you are reading book two in a series, you've read
- 1:15:41Speaker 2: book one.
- 1:15:46Speaker 3: But I.
- 1:15:48Speaker 2: So that's definitely an issue here. And maybe that was
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: a thing from Audible, where Audible was like, yeah, we
- 1:15:55Speaker 2: need you to include like what happened in the first one.
- 1:16:00Speaker 2: I don't know why Audible would do that, because you
- 1:16:02Speaker 2: think Audible is like decently smart, but it could have
- 1:16:05Speaker 2: been an Audible thing, oh, because I feel like George
- 1:16:09Speaker 2: Mann is also smarter than that. Yeah, so I don't
- 1:16:14Speaker 2: really know. But again, so like I talked about this
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: a little bit, but like the stuff for this feels
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: really important for what's in Into the Light. And that's
- 1:16:30Speaker 2: all I'm gonna say there. But this is like I
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: was really confused last night because I totally forgot about
- 1:16:37Speaker 2: this until I texted Clay and was like, hey, don't
- 1:16:41Speaker 2: forget about this, And then I didn't get a chance
- 1:16:43Speaker 2: to listen to it yesterday. So I read the first
- 1:16:45Speaker 2: twelve chapters Into the Light and I'm like, what the
- 1:16:48Speaker 2: heck is going on? And then I'm listening to this.
- 1:16:50Speaker 2: I listened to it twice during work today and I'm like, oh,
- 1:16:54Speaker 2: this chapter Into the Light makes a lot more sense
- 1:16:57Speaker 2: now like that should not be a thing, And that's
- 1:17:00Speaker 2: been a critique that we've had the entirety of High
- 1:17:02Speaker 2: Republic basically, but I feel like it's especially relevant as
- 1:17:08Speaker 2: we get into the finale books.
- 1:17:11Speaker 3: I wonder if it would be better now I know that,
- 1:17:18Speaker 3: like if you open up any of the High Republic books,
- 1:17:22Speaker 3: there is a timeline, but there's a timeline for the
- 1:17:27Speaker 3: Broader Star Wars. It's the High Republic that it is
- 1:17:29Speaker 3: the prequel seay, Like they don't map out all the books, right,
- 1:17:34Speaker 3: I wonder if it would hurt the publications at all
- 1:17:44Speaker 3: if like prior to like the dedication page, they had like.
- 1:17:54Speaker 2: An individual timeline for the era they're.
- 1:17:57Speaker 3: In or like yeah, like so it would be like,
- 1:18:01Speaker 3: this is phase three of the High Republic. These are
- 1:18:04Speaker 3: all the projects that come before this book that you
- 1:18:08Speaker 3: are reading right now.
- 1:18:10Speaker 2: That would be helpful. Like, no, because that's Into the Light.
- 1:18:14Speaker 2: I can't talk about that because we're not there yet.
- 1:18:17Speaker 2: We will be there Sunday. We're talking about that book.
- 1:18:19Speaker 3: Until but that's like the next book that we're going
- 1:18:23Speaker 3: to be talking about after Haunted. Starlight is into the Light, right,
- 1:18:28Speaker 3: so imagine you open Into the Light before you even
- 1:18:31Speaker 3: start reading the prologue or chapter one or whatever is
- 1:18:34Speaker 3: there you see the High Republic emblem and almost like
- 1:18:40Speaker 3: the Legends books, how they have the timeline there. Just
- 1:18:42Speaker 3: scrolling down you see Phase three and it starts with
- 1:18:48Speaker 3: Eye of Darkness and it goes through. But they would
- 1:18:54Speaker 3: need to also include the little asterisks out of a
- 1:19:00Speaker 3: original Haunted Starlight.
- 1:19:04Speaker 2: Yeah, and that's the thing, right is I don't picture
- 1:19:08Speaker 2: because there's a reason that Random House Worlds and Disney
- 1:19:12Speaker 2: don't showcase the books across each other. Like, the only
- 1:19:16Speaker 2: thing they share is the licensing stuff from Star Wars,
- 1:19:20Speaker 2: so we get the movies, we get the TV shifts.
- 1:19:23Speaker 2: That's the only thing that crosses over those timelines. Because
- 1:19:28Speaker 2: Disney doesn't even put a timeline in their book for
- 1:19:31Speaker 2: like where the book takes place. It just says, here's
- 1:19:34Speaker 2: your timeline, Like, so I wish that they could correlate that.
- 1:19:40Speaker 2: And I do think having a unique timeline for the
- 1:19:45Speaker 2: book that you're in, so like the Higher Republic, like showcasing, Hey,
- 1:19:48Speaker 2: here's the timeline for the High Republic, I think that
- 1:19:52Speaker 2: would be really useful. But I also just think Phase
- 1:19:59Speaker 2: one did the Hey, each publication, so the adult books
- 1:20:05Speaker 2: is one story. The young adult books is one story.
- 1:20:08Speaker 2: Like Phase one and even Phase two really did that
- 1:20:14Speaker 2: a lot better than Phase three is done.
- 1:20:17Speaker 3: And I think more so it's because it's like this
- 1:20:22Speaker 3: is the pinnacle, like this is the end of the
- 1:20:27Speaker 3: a culmination of all those stories. And I think that's
- 1:20:31Speaker 3: why it feels like that, And a part of me
- 1:20:38Speaker 3: like I can't even say, like, oh, it's because they
- 1:20:40Speaker 3: rushed it, because there was a time when we saw
- 1:20:44Speaker 3: the celebration timeline for when these books were coming out,
- 1:20:47Speaker 3: we were like, yeah, so far away, guys, it's literally
- 1:20:52Speaker 3: two months from now, three months from now. Like it's
- 1:20:55Speaker 3: like the end is nae, guys. It is absolutely insane
- 1:20:59Speaker 3: that the time has flown by.
- 1:21:02Speaker 2: You want to know where the last thing for the
- 1:21:04Speaker 2: Higher Republic tape comes out. The last thing that comes
- 1:21:10Speaker 2: out is the Higher Republic Adventures Volume five Trade October
- 1:21:17Speaker 2: twenty eighth.
- 1:21:20Speaker 3: Of this year.
- 1:21:21Speaker 2: Yeah, like it's like, so it's extending. And yes, these
- 1:21:30Speaker 2: comics have already come out, but y'all, some people like
- 1:21:34Speaker 2: me don't keep up with them because it's too expensive.
- 1:21:39Speaker 2: So the tree is what I did, and it's like,
- 1:21:43Speaker 2: so yes, I may I'm not up to date on
- 1:21:46Speaker 2: the comics, but I'm literally up to date on everything else. Yeah,
- 1:21:51Speaker 2: and I still feel out of the.
- 1:21:53Speaker 3: Loop, absolutely insane.
- 1:22:00Speaker 2: Yeah all right, So with that out of the way,
- 1:22:04Speaker 2: and we will probably have again on Sunday when we
- 1:22:09Speaker 2: review Into the Light, because I think Clay will understand
- 1:22:12Speaker 2: more of what I'm talking about because he hasn't read
- 1:22:14Speaker 2: anything yet.
- 1:22:16Speaker 3: I'm getting through. I'm telling myself minimum eight chapters tonight.
- 1:22:23Speaker 2: You can do it it. I think with you having
- 1:22:28Speaker 2: read this, with you having already listened to Haunted Starlight,
- 1:22:32Speaker 2: I think you will have an easier time. Yeah, at
- 1:22:36Speaker 2: the very least. So I don't want to say more
- 1:22:39Speaker 2: than that, But okay, so Haunted Starlight. I actually like
- 1:22:42Speaker 2: this one, I think better than Seeds of Starlight. I
- 1:22:45Speaker 2: think it's because I'm more used to the format and
- 1:22:50Speaker 2: like I was able to understand the voices a little
- 1:22:53Speaker 2: bit better. I still think this would have been better
- 1:22:59Speaker 2: served in like the comic format. I get wanting to
- 1:23:05Speaker 2: adapt Cam because he has the robotic vocoder into an
- 1:23:12Speaker 2: audio format. I get that that's special. I just think
- 1:23:16Speaker 2: this format doesn't entirely do it justice. I think George
- 1:23:20Speaker 2: Mann writes a really good story, and he's written really
- 1:23:24Speaker 2: good audio dramas, because the Battle of Jetta is very
- 1:23:26Speaker 2: good audio drama. But in this short of story, because
- 1:23:32Speaker 2: four and a half hours is a little ridiculous.
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: It just how long was the last one?
- 1:23:40Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure it's the same length.
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: I have a double check.
- 1:23:45Speaker 2: I'm Polona Dock. Now that is not what I clicked.
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: Excuse me.
- 1:23:53Speaker 2: Okay, so Hunted Starlight Seeds.
- 1:23:57Speaker 3: Of Starlight is four hours and twenty nine minutes.
- 1:24:00Speaker 2: Okay, so Hunted Starlet is four hours and twenty minutes.
- 1:24:04Speaker 3: So it's just a smidge shorter.
- 1:24:10Speaker 2: Right, But imagine if you and I get audible, was
- 1:24:14Speaker 2: probably like, hey, give me something, like I want an
- 1:24:18Speaker 2: original from Star Wars, and so this had to come
- 1:24:20Speaker 2: out of that. But imagine if this would have been
- 1:24:26Speaker 2: nine hours, like and.
- 1:24:29Speaker 3: See, that's where I'm like, yes, like I because there's
- 1:24:36Speaker 3: moments here right that I'm like, I want more of
- 1:24:42Speaker 3: this and less of this. So, like we mentioned Zaxel,
- 1:24:50Speaker 3: Zaxel his character, he gets overtaken by the gen gear
- 1:24:55Speaker 3: and he goes through this like metamorphosis and goes through
- 1:24:59Speaker 3: all the mood swings and then he's like, I'm gonna
- 1:25:02Speaker 3: have my own storm within the Night Hill blah blah
- 1:25:06Speaker 3: blah blah blah. Like I didn't need all of that,
- 1:25:15Speaker 3: but like more of the stuff with like because I
- 1:25:20Speaker 3: think and Katie don't react to this, I think, and
- 1:25:29Speaker 3: it is more so a prediction for Trials. I will
- 1:25:32Speaker 3: say this. It's more of a prediction for Trials, So
- 1:25:34Speaker 3: you can't really react to it because we haven't read Trials.
- 1:25:37Speaker 3: But just in case, I think we are going to
- 1:25:44Speaker 3: get a portals and a in game portals moment with
- 1:25:50Speaker 3: the drin gear in Trials of the Jedi, and this should.
- 1:25:54Speaker 2: Be our final ad break. So y'all, thanks for bearing
- 1:25:58Speaker 2: with us. We appreciate y'all. We'll be right back.
- 1:26:03Speaker 3: Because of what happens in Haunted Starlight. Again, don't react
- 1:26:09Speaker 3: because I don't know what's going on into the Light.
- 1:26:12Speaker 2: But like, so I will say this because this isn't
- 1:26:17Speaker 2: a spoiler for what's in the book, because it's in
- 1:26:19Speaker 2: the description. So the Drink here are in into the Light.
- 1:26:26Speaker 2: And I feel like, because I haven't read this far yet,
- 1:26:30Speaker 2: I feel like the Drinker's story is going to wrap
- 1:26:33Speaker 2: up into the light because the drink your story got
- 1:26:37Speaker 2: started into the dark.
- 1:26:41Speaker 3: Oh, that's true. That's true. It's a it's a nice
- 1:26:44Speaker 3: little bow. I get that's supposed to be.
- 1:26:48Speaker 2: Again, they're still trying to give you the assumption of Okay,
- 1:26:52Speaker 2: everything's going to wrap up for a publication in the
- 1:26:56Speaker 2: publications area.
- 1:26:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:26:59Speaker 2: So that that's why I'm like, Okay, I feel like
- 1:27:02Speaker 2: the Drinker story is going to end here. If we
- 1:27:07Speaker 2: get Drinker in Trials of the Jedi, I feel like
- 1:27:11Speaker 2: it may be like one or two and we see
- 1:27:14Speaker 2: something very similar to like Temptation of the Force where
- 1:27:17Speaker 2: they're running away from something.
- 1:27:19Speaker 3: So yeah, well, like because like the really interesting thing
- 1:27:23Speaker 3: about Haunted Starlight, which I wandered a little bit more of,
- 1:27:27Speaker 3: especially with Tip Tap, and they kind of took that
- 1:27:30Speaker 3: away from me, and I really hated that they didn't
- 1:27:32Speaker 3: allow that to happen, is the fact that like tep
- 1:27:36Speaker 3: Tap was like, Hey, I'm gonna be brave, I'm gonna
- 1:27:39Speaker 3: be strong, I'm gonna, you know, talk to these Dringer
- 1:27:43Speaker 3: and you know, basically compromise with them and I'm gonna
- 1:27:46Speaker 3: make a deal with them and all this other stuff.
- 1:27:48Speaker 3: And then it was master Buyer Buyer and she was like, no,
- 1:27:57Speaker 3: I'm going to be the conduit take me instead. I'm
- 1:28:00Speaker 3: just like dune it what like she like tep Tap
- 1:28:04Speaker 3: has been like the animal handler this entire phase, and
- 1:28:11Speaker 3: I want more of that, Like because we got this
- 1:28:16Speaker 3: moment in correct me?
- 1:28:24Speaker 2: Uh fear the nameless?
- 1:28:27Speaker 3: Is it fear the nameless?
- 1:28:28Speaker 1: Uh?
- 1:28:30Speaker 3: Of when Tip Tap basically goes head on with the
- 1:28:32Speaker 3: nameless and beware the nameless? Sorry, yeah, she goes head
- 1:28:38Speaker 3: to head with the nameless, and then like the book
- 1:28:41Speaker 3: freaking ends and like we get nothing from it. They tease,
- 1:28:44Speaker 3: like they tease something happening to Tip Tap, but then nothing,
- 1:28:50Speaker 3: nothing happens in that.
- 1:28:52Speaker 2: And this is the problem too, is like you have
- 1:28:56Speaker 2: you set up Tap Tap and kill though in the
- 1:29:00Speaker 2: middle grade novels, and tep Tep is in a Valiant
- 1:29:04Speaker 2: Vow which comes out on May sixth. Yes, so theoretically
- 1:29:10Speaker 2: her story is gonna end there, but it's also like, okay,
- 1:29:13Speaker 2: well you put them here, and now you're gonna have
- 1:29:18Speaker 2: to connect those dots. You're gonna have to retell what
- 1:29:20Speaker 2: just happened in this audio drama to articulate how tep
- 1:29:25Speaker 2: Tep has grown as a character, because Inmory is also
- 1:29:27Speaker 2: coming back and yeah, so now you've got like this
- 1:29:32Speaker 2: mishmash of what's happening, and it's just a little frustrating.
- 1:29:36Speaker 2: It's absolutely not at all the author's fault. It is
- 1:29:41Speaker 2: one hundred percent leadership for publication and going, yeah, we
- 1:29:46Speaker 2: can reuse these characters here.
- 1:29:48Speaker 3: Yeah, and you know the editing process of how that
- 1:29:52Speaker 3: works out, I'm sure is also you know how we
- 1:29:56Speaker 3: ended up with what we have. But that being said,
- 1:30:04Speaker 3: I think we have seen these characters grow. I liked
- 1:30:13Speaker 3: the little the little cherry on top, the little smidge
- 1:30:18Speaker 3: of like the fear that master buyer is feeling from
- 1:30:23Speaker 3: Seeds of Starlight, like she's she's reacting how a master
- 1:30:28Speaker 3: should react. But at the same time, even Tip Tap
- 1:30:30Speaker 3: is like, hmm, I wonder if she's making these choices
- 1:30:32Speaker 3: because it's the right thing to do, or is it
- 1:30:35Speaker 3: because she's afraid and she's not wanting to be taken
- 1:30:39Speaker 3: over again? And even Tip taps like that's a valid thought,
- 1:30:43Speaker 3: you know, like, Hey, if I was taken over, I
- 1:30:46Speaker 3: wouldn't want to have to be taken over again, so
- 1:30:48Speaker 3: I would do everything I can to stop that. So
- 1:30:52Speaker 3: I like that growth question. There is a gentleman that
- 1:31:07Speaker 3: helps these these Jedi characters are a band of characters.
- 1:31:15Speaker 3: Fido Blick, he comes out of this well. He at
- 1:31:26Speaker 3: one point he presents a lightsaber. They do not describe
- 1:31:33Speaker 3: the lightsaber, but Cam says something at the very end
- 1:31:41Speaker 3: when Blick is about to hand it over, he's like, hey,
- 1:31:45Speaker 3: your master's gonna be asking for this. Here you go.
- 1:31:49Speaker 3: But it's damaged, and Cam says, hey, you know what,
- 1:31:53Speaker 3: it's already damaged. There's nothing else you could do with it.
- 1:31:58Speaker 3: He takes out the kyber crystal and gives out He
- 1:32:00Speaker 3: gives the lightsaber.
- 1:32:01Speaker 1: Back to him.
- 1:32:01Speaker 3: He's like, he says, a Jedi died on Starlight, protecting
- 1:32:09Speaker 3: what they could use that memory to make better choices
- 1:32:14Speaker 3: in the future. If you're going to hold onto this,
- 1:32:17Speaker 3: whose lightsaber do you think that is?
- 1:32:21Speaker 2: I'm sorry, I'm on Wikipedia and now I've just gotten
- 1:32:24Speaker 2: the spam notification. Okay, repeat the question. Blake had a
- 1:32:32Speaker 2: lightsaber at the end and said a Jedi died.
- 1:32:36Speaker 3: Well, well, Cam tolds it, tells him, hey, a Jedi.
- 1:32:40Speaker 3: You know this was at one point a Jedi's lightsaber,
- 1:32:44Speaker 3: and you found it. We know, we both know that
- 1:32:48Speaker 3: this lightsaber was used to defend, to protect others. Keep
- 1:32:54Speaker 3: that in mind in the future for any and all,
- 1:32:58Speaker 3: you know, to basically better your life. Think of the
- 1:33:03Speaker 3: person who used this lightsaber at one point, and it
- 1:33:07Speaker 3: got me thinking whose lightsaber is that they don't specifically say,
- 1:33:13Speaker 3: They don't even describe it, which also kind of irritates me.
- 1:33:18Speaker 2: We know it's not Stellin's because elser Man has Stellins
- 1:33:21Speaker 2: and I think now the Master has Stellons because he
- 1:33:25Speaker 2: passed all. I can't think of anyone off the top
- 1:33:29Speaker 2: of my head. Oh well you do have oh gosh,
- 1:33:34Speaker 2: what's his name? The red guy who was like Avar
- 1:33:39Speaker 2: Cris's secretary basically, oh shoot, because he dies on starlight
- 1:33:51Speaker 2: because he is like trying to hold starlight together. Sorry,
- 1:34:00Speaker 2: I'm nervous to go back to Wikipedia, but here we go.
- 1:34:02Speaker 3: But also, no, I think they would have described it differently.
- 1:34:11Speaker 3: I was gonna say, do you think it's Orless?
- 1:34:19Speaker 2: I yeah, I would have thought that they would describe
- 1:34:22Speaker 2: it differently because Orla's flipped and was like dual bladed
- 1:34:27Speaker 2: but also could be together. So I don't think. I
- 1:34:35Speaker 2: don't think it was Orla's because you're right, Orla did
- 1:34:37Speaker 2: die there.
- 1:34:39Speaker 3: Mm hmm. And Orla was was was mentioned a couple
- 1:34:44Speaker 3: of times here, and I was like, oh, I wonder
- 1:34:46Speaker 3: if it is Orla's.
- 1:34:49Speaker 8: Nib Nib was Oh, that's right, Nib was on Starlight.
- 1:35:03Speaker 2: Estella Marux That's who I was thinking of. By the way,
- 1:35:17Speaker 2: who Estella Maru.
- 1:35:21Speaker 3: Es Stella Maru. I totally spelled that wrong.
- 1:35:33Speaker 2: S I l A see I put yeah.
- 1:35:40Speaker 3: And then I put M A R o oh because
- 1:35:43Speaker 3: I was like, what looks more Star Wars Like, I
- 1:35:46Speaker 3: was like two ohs totally but yeah, I forgot about
- 1:35:52Speaker 3: this character.
- 1:35:53Speaker 2: Also, Okay, so yeah, So the Wikipedia article for destruction
- 1:35:59Speaker 2: of Starlight how Estala Maru Orbolen, which we know he survived,
- 1:36:05Speaker 2: Skier who we know survived Neuron Bakarana Kana.
- 1:36:13Speaker 3: I have no idea.
- 1:36:17Speaker 2: Manchi Stelling, gios Orla Gerinni, nib A Sikh, Regel Cole,
- 1:36:24Speaker 2: also Burr Yaga. We know he survived, Torba Buck, we
- 1:36:30Speaker 2: know he survived Farzala and Lula both survived. So really
- 1:36:34Speaker 2: your only ones in there is the long name, which
- 1:36:44Speaker 2: I'm assuming is probably another wookie, Regel Cole we know dieed,
- 1:36:48Speaker 2: nib A Sikh Orla Jernni and Stellin I don't who's
- 1:36:53Speaker 2: Manchi tell me who this is? Was a Frogian Jedi Knight?
- 1:37:04Speaker 2: Oh yeah, okay, I.
- 1:37:09Speaker 3: Don't recognize.
- 1:37:12Speaker 2: Seeing the picture, so this is Neuron. She was in
- 1:37:21Speaker 2: a comic. Let's see, it looks like mostly okay, so.
- 1:37:32Speaker 3: I remember that panel.
- 1:37:35Speaker 1: Yep.
- 1:37:36Speaker 3: I recognized that.
- 1:37:40Speaker 2: Temptation the Force mentioned and then comic and Rising Storm.
- 1:37:46Speaker 2: So yeah, she's a Catain Scott character. All right, so
- 1:37:50Speaker 2: she died, is it?
- 1:37:54Speaker 1: Yes?
- 1:37:54Speaker 2: Okay, latero Jedi Knight. Oh yes, he in the High Republic. Yeah,
- 1:38:09Speaker 2: it looks like he. Oh he died, and High Republic
- 1:38:13Speaker 2: twenty twenty three seven appears as corpse. Oh he died,
- 1:38:23Speaker 2: so maybe maybe he survived because I think maybe he
- 1:38:28Speaker 2: died with like orbital like on the planet with orbitl
- 1:38:31Speaker 2: in when they're like being hunted and stuff. So yeah, yeah,
- 1:38:39Speaker 2: so Stellin, reg Old, nib Orla yeah, and Neuron.
- 1:38:45Speaker 3: So I I mean overall, other than the weird pacing
- 1:38:55Speaker 3: and the repetitive retelling of prior events, I think this
- 1:39:02Speaker 3: was This was a good enough story.
- 1:39:08Speaker 2: Yep.
- 1:39:09Speaker 3: I think that if the High Republic budget could have
- 1:39:18Speaker 3: afforded it, I think it would have been a lot
- 1:39:20Speaker 3: better as an actual audio drama, like you were saying.
- 1:39:29Speaker 2: Because now that I have any problem with Todd Havebercorn,
- 1:39:33Speaker 2: who's the narrator for this. He does a lot of
- 1:39:37Speaker 2: the middle grade books, and this is what this audio
- 1:39:40Speaker 2: drama was targeted to, was like a middle grade audience.
- 1:39:46Speaker 2: I just think this one, because you have so many
- 1:39:49Speaker 2: options of characters, he just doesn't do it justice.
- 1:39:55Speaker 3: Yeah, man, I can't even see. I need to just
- 1:40:02Speaker 3: get started into the light needs to be released already
- 1:40:06Speaker 3: and our thoughts need to already be out because then
- 1:40:10Speaker 3: because like I'm already like wanting to ask you, I'm like, oh, so,
- 1:40:13Speaker 3: what do you think this ending of the book really thinks?
- 1:40:16Speaker 3: You can't answer that question?
- 1:40:18Speaker 2: No, I can't. I'm sorry.
- 1:40:20Speaker 3: Yeah, so I'll go ahead and just let it be known.
- 1:40:25Speaker 3: At the very end of this book, there's a confrontation
- 1:40:29Speaker 3: between the drin Gear and then uh Zazel, who is
- 1:40:35Speaker 3: you know, taken over by another dream Gear in the
- 1:40:39Speaker 3: hive mind. He like I said, he like envelopes his
- 1:40:43Speaker 3: own little like tendrols and stuff, and he becomes a monster. Basically,
- 1:40:50Speaker 3: they they fight like the Jedi are on the side
- 1:40:54Speaker 3: of the dread Gear. Zazel or Zaz or whatever you
- 1:40:58Speaker 3: however you want to pronounce his name, has his own
- 1:41:00Speaker 3: little mafia of drink Gear.
- 1:41:03Speaker 1: Uh.
- 1:41:03Speaker 3: They fight as well against the Jedi and the drink Gear.
- 1:41:08Speaker 3: And Cam basically is like, hey, like, you're done, you're defeated.
- 1:41:13Speaker 3: I'm not gonna kill you, and I'm gonna make sure
- 1:41:15Speaker 3: that the Dringeer don't kill you. And he has this
- 1:41:18Speaker 3: really really cool line, one that actually appreciate.
- 1:41:23Speaker 1: Uh.
- 1:41:24Speaker 3: Zazel's like, why would you do this? He's like, because
- 1:41:30Speaker 3: the Jedi are this is what the Jedi do. We're
- 1:41:33Speaker 3: always meant to, you know, meet violence with with kindness.
- 1:41:38Speaker 3: And then he adds and maybe because we just haven't
- 1:41:42Speaker 3: learned better, we haven't learned better.
- 1:41:44Speaker 2: M h.
- 1:41:45Speaker 3: And like Cam knows the flaws of.
- 1:41:49Speaker 2: The Jedi, such a good line, and it.
- 1:41:52Speaker 3: Was it's just this small little thing, but I actually
- 1:41:56Speaker 3: really dug that. I'm like, that's clever. I love this.
- 1:41:59Speaker 3: And again, it's not coming from this old wise Jedi.
- 1:42:04Speaker 3: It's coming from this kid, this kid that has had
- 1:42:09Speaker 3: a lot of shit happened to him, losing his voice,
- 1:42:12Speaker 3: all of this other stuff, right, almost losing his master,
- 1:42:16Speaker 3: almost having his master kill him at one point.
- 1:42:20Speaker 2: Mm hm.
- 1:42:20Speaker 3: So like all this stuff has happened, is like, oh,
- 1:42:23Speaker 3: I'm going to do this because this is what Jedi do,
- 1:42:26Speaker 3: but also maybe we don't know any better, and it
- 1:42:30Speaker 3: kind of it like it's kind of scary, especially for
- 1:42:33Speaker 3: a book that's called Haunted Starlight for the fact that like, hey,
- 1:42:40Speaker 3: Cam are you telling on like what the future of
- 1:42:45Speaker 3: this publication has for the High Republic?
- 1:42:49Speaker 2: And this should be our final ad break, So y'all,
- 1:42:54Speaker 2: thanks for bearing with us. We appreciate y'all. We'll be
- 1:42:56Speaker 2: right back.
- 1:42:58Speaker 3: Are we not going to learn our lasts? I mean, granted,
- 1:43:02Speaker 3: we know how much of an asshole Yoda is for
- 1:43:05Speaker 3: the rest of time, so you know, I also really
- 1:43:10Speaker 3: love the fact that Adrian called that out also in
- 1:43:14Speaker 3: the prior of this conversation. But after all that, they're like, hey,
- 1:43:22Speaker 3: we're gonna put the dring gear on our ship. They're
- 1:43:25Speaker 3: gonna fly away, and they're gonna be safe from the Blight,
- 1:43:28Speaker 3: they're gonna be saved from the Night Hill, and everything's
- 1:43:31Speaker 3: gonna go good. Don't react. There's a moment at the
- 1:43:37Speaker 3: very end, it's the epilogue, and like they like that
- 1:43:42Speaker 3: you had several characters already react to them leaving right,
- 1:43:45Speaker 3: and then there's an epilogue. There's an epilogue, and it's
- 1:43:49Speaker 3: in the po V of like the head of the
- 1:43:54Speaker 3: gen Gear, which their name is uh uh uh oh yes, yes,
- 1:44:04Speaker 3: and she is like, oh, this one human being, you know,
- 1:44:10Speaker 3: set the NAVI computer and set our course for the
- 1:44:13Speaker 3: Da Da Da. But there's always one planet that I've
- 1:44:17Speaker 3: always wanted to go to that always piqued my interest,
- 1:44:22Speaker 3: the home of the Bookies, cause and like they like
- 1:44:26Speaker 3: burrow the small, little insignificant like vine into the neck
- 1:44:31Speaker 3: of this person, right, And this you can actually react
- 1:44:37Speaker 3: to now that I'm this next statement. We didn't know
- 1:44:42Speaker 3: how much Star Wars publications were really planning on anything.
- 1:44:49Speaker 3: And something that we had entirely missed in our read
- 1:44:54Speaker 3: of the Aftermath series is that there's a moment where
- 1:44:59Speaker 3: we act actually like is it the first Aftermath or
- 1:45:04Speaker 3: Life Debt or I can't remember which one it's actually in.
- 1:45:07Speaker 2: I think it's Life Debt.
- 1:45:09Speaker 3: Yeah, that does make sense. In Aftermath Life Debt, there's
- 1:45:15Speaker 3: a small moment where they mention like basically that part
- 1:45:23Speaker 3: of the planet just looks like death, and we're like,
- 1:45:26Speaker 3: holy shit, it's the blight. And it's very telling because like,
- 1:45:36Speaker 3: there ain't no drink here in the original trilogy or
- 1:45:40Speaker 3: in the sequel trilogy. And I've been to Kashika on
- 1:45:45Speaker 3: several video games. There ain't no drinker. So like, so
- 1:45:51Speaker 3: I I know how that story is gonna end. But
- 1:45:57Speaker 3: of course this is how you know this book ends.
- 1:46:02Speaker 3: I'm gonna be reading into the light almost as soon
- 1:46:06Speaker 3: as we get off here. I'm gonna go eat dinner,
- 1:46:08Speaker 3: and then I'm gonna start reading, and then I'm gonna
- 1:46:12Speaker 3: finally gonna I'm gonna I'm going to text Katie. The
- 1:46:15Speaker 3: moment it happens, I'm like, oh, this is what you
- 1:46:18Speaker 3: were talking about. Cool, So it's it was a good story.
- 1:46:27Speaker 3: Katie's about to die. I think that we need to
- 1:46:33Speaker 3: wrap this up as quickly as possible. I want to
- 1:46:40Speaker 3: thank everybody for being here. I'm gonna go ahead and
- 1:46:46Speaker 3: call my stuff out. Of course, you can always find
- 1:46:48Speaker 3: me at fanboy Clay on Twitter, well not Twitter anymore.
- 1:46:52Speaker 3: Actually I'm not really posting there. Follow me on Blue
- 1:46:55Speaker 3: Sky Instagram and threads. Follow me on Blue Sky for
- 1:46:59Speaker 3: my journey, Instagram for my book journey, and I just

- 1:48:19Speaker 2: had us talking about Edge of Balanced Premonition. We're actually
- 1:48:23Speaker 2: gonna switch up and talk and Or Season one because
- 1:48:27Speaker 2: Clay was out for half of and Or season one,
- 1:48:31Speaker 2: so it'll be a good chance for us to return
- 1:48:34Speaker 2: to the show. Clay gets to give it a look,
- 1:48:38Speaker 2: and we will also be dropping our into the late
- 1:48:41Speaker 2: review as a separate episode, I'm about to cough again,
- 1:48:45Speaker 2: so have a good day or night, whatever day of
- 1:48:47Speaker 2: the day you're listening or watching it. We will see
