Speaker 1: Welcome back to Couples Counseling with Chelsea, And I'm here
• 0:03
Speaker 1: with three of my friends.
• 0:04
Speaker 2: They are not a couple. They're a threatle.
• 0:07
Speaker 1: They're not romantically involved either. There are three comedians named
• 0:10
Speaker 1: Amina Amani, Sydney Washington, and Marie Fouston, and I spent
• 0:14
Speaker 1: some time with them in Whistler and heard a lot
• 0:17
Speaker 1: about their beef, so I thought I would bring them
• 0:19
Speaker 1: onto the podcast. What are your thoughts, ladies on dating
• 0:23
Speaker 1: somebody's ex boyfriend or ex girlfriend?
• 0:25
Speaker 2: How do you feel about that? Oh, we don't do that.
• 0:27
Speaker 2: I don't like anybody that my friend's like, no one bit, no,
• 0:30
  Speaker 2: thank you.
• 0:30
Speaker 3: I don't even like the people that I used to like,
• 0:32
Speaker 3: So why would I like your trash? Yes, so one
• 0:36
Speaker 3: hundred percent I agree with like, I'm not even interested.
• 0:40
Speaker 3: I feel like even if somebody looks their way or
• 0:43
Speaker 3: I'm like, oh no, that's off the options for me.
• 0:46
Speaker 3: But I feel like as I'm getting older, I see
• 0:48
Speaker 3: a lot of women friends and it's just like, oh,
• 0:50
Speaker 3: where you're married, now you moved on. Why can't I
• 0:54
Speaker 3: date your eggs? Y'all don't know, y'all don't see that, or.
• 0:59
Speaker 2: Y'all not together no more on that.
• 1:00
Speaker 3: We were friends after y'all were together, So that don't
• 1:03
Speaker 3: have nothing to do with me.
• 1:04
Speaker 2: Well, me and Sydney were talking about this woman.
• 1:06
Speaker 3: Her friend had went through chemo and passed away, and
• 1:10
Speaker 3: when her friend died, she was like, Oh, the way that.
• 1:13
Speaker 2: Her husband was treating her in the hospital. I noticed that.
• 1:17
Speaker 2: And now now she's with the eggs they married. Yeah,
• 1:22
Speaker 2: to me, that's crazy, Like, that's crazy. Enjoy your love.
• 1:26
Speaker 3: But to me, I just that's to me, that's weird.
• 1:29
  Speaker 3: So what y'all are y'all talking about her? Y'all y'all,
• 1:31
Speaker 3: y'all reminiscing. Okay, but this isn't some additional info that
• 1:35
Speaker 3: might change your mind.
• 1:36
Speaker 2: She's seventy seven, does.
• 1:39
  Speaker 3: Ye? Well?
• 1:40
Speaker 2: Yeah? How old is the guy? Probably around that eighty.
• 1:45
Speaker 2: But that's why I'm saying. I feel like as you
• 1:47
Speaker 2: get older, the rules change. That's what it seems like. No,
• 1:50
  Speaker 2: that's weird. That's weird.
• 1:52
Speaker 3: You guys have been friends for solo. You've seen so
• 1:54
Speaker 3: many times, and then you saw me when I had cancer. Baby,
• 1:57
Speaker 3: now you want my man.
• 1:58
Speaker 2: That's weird. That felt like you've been blocking the whole time.
• 2:02
Speaker 3: That means she was showing up to the cancer treatment
• 2:04
Speaker 3: with like a good cat eye and her butt look good,
• 2:08
Speaker 3: and she was like, oh, let me.
• 2:10
Speaker 2: Brush your three hairs across your forehead. Yeah, I mean
• 2:13
Speaker 2: the man is her heirloom.
• 2:15
  Speaker 3: You know.
• 2:15
Speaker 2: Listen, she was gonna take her shot out jewelry he
• 2:20
Speaker 2: left wi Yeah, up for grabs. I'm glad. All I
• 2:26
Speaker 2: know is I'm glad I'm gay.
• 2:27
Speaker 3: And so we never have to worry about that with
• 2:29
Speaker 3: the girls over here because you know they're very straight.
• 2:32
Speaker 3: But I feel like even being friends with exes, I
• 2:35
Speaker 3: don't really play that like that's that's my boundary too.
• 2:37
Speaker 2: Like I just feel like if I met.
• 2:40
Speaker 3: This person from my friend and they are no longer connected.
• 2:45
Speaker 1: I hate when people continue friendships.
• 2:47
Speaker 2: That is disgusting to me. That isn't just like ridiculous.
• 2:50
Speaker 3: Also, I go in now with friends that have exes,
• 2:53
Speaker 3: and I go in with like, just no once, this
• 2:55
Speaker 3: is a wrap, this is a rep.
• 2:56
Speaker 1: But also when they don't even know the person that well,
• 2:58
Speaker 1: they met them one time at a dinner that you
• 3:00
Speaker 1: had for they're hanging out.
• 3:02
Speaker 2: And I'm like, wait, that was I just next.
• 3:05
Speaker 1: Her, like after six years and you don't even know
• 3:07
Speaker 1: her and you're hanging out with her. You continue like
• 3:10
Speaker 1: I have this one guy every my friend's boyfriend. Every
• 3:13
Speaker 1: time I hook up with someone on vacation, he stays
• 3:16
Speaker 1: in contact with the guy that I hook up with
• 3:18
  Speaker 1: on vacation.
• 3:19
Speaker 2: I'm like, why why are you remaining in contact with
• 3:22
Speaker 2: these one night stands that I've had? That's a Pepine,
• 3:25
Speaker 2: don't do that. It doesn't make any sense to me.
• 3:27
Speaker 3: But if people people out there that's like that, they
• 3:30
  Speaker 3: will stay connected.
• 3:31
Speaker 2: They'll be hanging out, they'll be inviting.
• 3:33
Speaker 3: Them to the group check, coming to the events, and
• 3:35
Speaker 3: you just be sitting there, like, do you think I
• 3:36
Speaker 3: want to see this person again?
• 3:39
Speaker 2: If I say bye? You gotta say bye. Well, I'll say,
• 3:42
  Speaker 2: I'll say that.
• 3:43
Speaker 3: I feel like I'm the opposite of your friend, Chelsea.
• 3:47
Speaker 3: Once my friend is done with somebody, that person is
• 3:49
Speaker 3: dead to me. And Sidney can attest to this, because
• 3:52
Speaker 3: Sidney got exits that I was like, well, I don't
• 3:55
Speaker 3: we were done with them, And then Sydney still talks
• 3:58
Speaker 3: to them, and I'm like, I've always said that he died,
• 4:01
Speaker 3: So funeral for that person, girl, The resurrection is easter.
• 4:06
Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying is good for it. She
• 4:09
Speaker 2: keep everybody around. I know that is hard.
• 4:11
Speaker 1: That is hard when you pitch about somebody and then
• 4:14
Speaker 1: we all and your friends all back you up and
• 4:16
Speaker 1: are like, fine, fuck her or fuck him, and then
• 4:19
Speaker 1: that person gets back together with the person. You're like,
• 4:21
Speaker 1: wait a second, I'm the only one that's mad at
• 4:23
  Speaker 1: them anymore.
• 4:24
  Speaker 3: But I don't really bitch. I don't bitch about them.
• 4:26
Speaker 3: If anything, I put it on beat, I'd be like, oh,
• 4:28
  Speaker 3: I was I messed up. I wasn't right. I wasn't
• 4:32
Speaker 3: all the way there for the person. That's why this
• 4:33
  Speaker 3: didn't work out.
• 4:34
Speaker 2: Okay, what are your thoughts on lending friends money? I
• 4:39
  Speaker 2: don't say. I don't do. I don't do money and friends.
• 4:42
Speaker 3: You don't know. I mean like, I'll get you a meal,
• 4:46
Speaker 3: I'll send you a little a little uber ride or something,
• 4:49
Speaker 3: a little bag or a shirt. Like if I could
• 4:52
Speaker 3: give it to you and just let you have it,
• 4:55
Speaker 3: one hundred percent is yours. But if I can't, I'm
• 4:57
Speaker 3: not a bank, I'm not a leander. Like I got good.
• 5:00
  Speaker 3: If I need a loan, chase b away. It's a
• 5:03
Speaker 3: whole lot of lists of people that I can contact.
• 5:06
  Speaker 3: I just I think it's embarrassing too.
• 5:08
  Speaker 2: I just I don't.
• 5:09
  Speaker 3: I feel like I wouldn't even I've never asked you
• 5:11
Speaker 3: all to borrow money. We've been friends for probably a decade.
• 5:13
Speaker 3: I've never asked them to borrow money. No, No, I've
• 5:16
Speaker 3: probably stolen money. I've stolen money from y'all.
• 5:19
Speaker 2: Oh from the new Yeah, I forgot it's mine.
• 5:25
  Speaker 3: No, I'm like, how No, I'm just saying that's that's
• 5:29
Speaker 3: how I am with my friends.
• 5:30
Speaker 2: Like, I'll take it.
• 5:31
Speaker 1: But I recently had a friend hit me up with
• 5:34
Speaker 1: a voice memo asking me for one hundred and seventy
• 5:37
  Speaker 1: five thousand dollars.
• 5:38
  Speaker 2: Oh thousand dollars.
• 5:44
Speaker 3: But that's why they didn't text it, because they said,
• 5:46
Speaker 3: you're not screenshotting this voice memo.
• 5:48
Speaker 1: Exactly as soon as I listen to it, you know,
• 5:50
Speaker 1: it disappears right. I was like, oh, that's why you
• 5:53
Speaker 1: said to in a voice memo told me that she
• 5:56
Speaker 1: would have it back to me at the end of
• 5:57
Speaker 1: two months, which is even more sk than just asking for.
• 6:03
Speaker 2: You're not gonna add it too much.
• 6:05
Speaker 1: But I have a long history of loading people money
• 6:07
Speaker 1: and them never paying it back, but loading them without
• 6:10
Speaker 1: the expectation, you know, when people are in trouble. But
• 6:13
Speaker 1: this was the first time in my adult life that
• 6:16
Speaker 1: I was like, absolutely not, that's ridiculous.
• 6:18
Speaker 2: What's the most what's the most you've ever lent somebody
• 6:21
Speaker 2: like twenty grand? Right, why don't we go ahead and
• 6:25
Speaker 2: add you to agree? But yeah, I mean, but for me,
• 6:31
  Speaker 2: I think that.
• 6:32
Speaker 3: I mean I've had a long history of just like
• 6:34
Speaker 3: being bad with finances, but then I've also met people
• 6:37
Speaker 3: who have been bad with finances, and it's just like
• 6:40
Speaker 3: you put it, you put it in the zeigeis you know,
• 6:43
Speaker 3: if somebody if you can do it, and you can
• 6:45
Speaker 3: and it helps them and then they eventually you know,
• 6:48
Speaker 3: pay it back, that's amazing. But like, you know, what
• 6:51
Speaker 3: is what is money if it's on right terms. I mean,
• 6:54
Speaker 3: obviously there's people are sketchy in they're they're out there
• 6:58
Speaker 3: using you and they're not coming from a good late.
• 7:00
Speaker 3: But if somebody was down and out and like I
• 7:03
Speaker 3: had it, I had abundance of it, I'm like, oh, yeah,
• 7:07
Speaker 3: this is my good friend. But if it's on the
• 7:09
Speaker 3: terms where like they say they're going to pay it
• 7:11
Speaker 3: back and then they don't, then it's like I hope
• 7:13
Speaker 3: you know that twenty thousand dollars. It's worth our friendship
• 7:16
Speaker 3: because then I can't mess with you no more because
• 7:18
  Speaker 3: you're not.
• 7:19
  Speaker 2: On your word.
• 7:20
Speaker 1: Yeah, and I've definitely when I was coming up and
• 7:22
Speaker 1: had no money, I definitely borrowed from a lot of people,
• 7:25
Speaker 1: and I always paid people back because I was very
• 7:27
Speaker 1: I always knew, like Marie that I would be successful
• 7:31
Speaker 1: and I would do well. But for some reason, I
• 7:33
Speaker 1: found the one hundred and seventy five thousand dollars in
• 7:37
Speaker 1: such a stabbering sum to.
• 7:39
Speaker 2: Ask someone for that.
• 7:41
Speaker 3: That's more than that's more than most American salaries, Like what?
• 7:45
Speaker 1: Yeah, and this is also someone I haven't seen in
• 7:48
Speaker 1: several years, you know, I mean coming through on a
• 7:50
  Speaker 1: voice memo.
• 7:51
Speaker 2: I was several year.
• 7:52
Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, we taxed sometimes, but we're not like close.
• 7:55
Speaker 1: And I just I just couldn't get over it, and
• 7:58
  Speaker 1: I was I actually.
• 7:59
Speaker 2: Realized that diference between me.
• 8:01
  Speaker 3: Now.
• 8:01
Speaker 1: First of all, my business managers would never allow that
• 8:04
Speaker 1: anymore because they know my history of being too generous
• 8:07
Speaker 1: to people without asking enough questions, so they would actually
• 8:10
Speaker 1: make someone sign a contract or something.
• 8:12
Speaker 3: But you know, oh, oh that's good a contract.
• 8:16
Speaker 2: Yeah, I offered her that up.
• 8:18
Speaker 1: I said, if you want to go through my business managers,
• 8:20
Speaker 1: you're going to have to do some paperwork with them.
• 8:22
Speaker 1: And then immediately she's like, I'm offended by that.
• 8:25
  Speaker 2: Oh, but.
• 8:29
Speaker 3: I don't believe did she what does she need the
• 8:31
Speaker 3: money for? Let's was she starting like a lash business?
• 8:35
Speaker 1: I mean, it's all very shady, It's all. It just
• 8:39
Speaker 1: felt shady right away. I was like, this isn't right,
• 8:42
Speaker 1: This isn't how you ask for that either.
• 8:44
Speaker 3: No, you haven't heard from her in a while, did
• 8:46
Speaker 3: she Well, did she hit you with a like a.
• 8:48
Speaker 2: Preliminary hey, friend, Like, did she text.
• 8:51
Speaker 3: You to kind of like massage it in there?
• 8:54
Speaker 2: No? No, she's brutally Yeah. Yeah.
• 9:03
  Speaker 1: I have a question about drama, because I'm sure there's
• 9:06
Speaker 1: lots of drama between the three of you.
• 9:08
Speaker 2: How much drama is too much drama? And when is
• 9:11
Speaker 2: when do you have to draw the line with the
• 9:13
  Speaker 2: level of drama.
• 9:14
Speaker 3: Let me tell you what Sydney and Amina drama is.
• 9:16
Speaker 3: We go out, we're having a nice time, we all
• 9:19
Speaker 3: look great. Sidney will say something about Amina something, Amina
• 9:24
Speaker 3: will say something back about Sidney something, and then they
• 9:27
Speaker 3: just start roasting each other and everyone's laughing or no, no, no,
• 9:31
Speaker 3: they're laughing at each other.
• 9:34
Speaker 2: Everyone else is like, oh wow, they thought to fight?
• 9:38
  Speaker 2: Are they fight?
• 9:39
Speaker 3: Right? And it's just like to me, it just feels
• 9:42
Speaker 3: like low blow after low blow after low blow, and
• 9:45
Speaker 3: I just listen and laugh. But because I yeah, I'm
• 9:51
Speaker 3: too sensitive for that, and I'm Forrie, you're to the sensitive.
• 9:55
Speaker 3: If someone said something about me the way that y'all
• 9:58
Speaker 3: talk about each other, I I'm too sensitive for that.
• 10:01
  Speaker 3: That's when I'll be brutally honest. I can't y'all. Y'all
• 10:05
Speaker 3: are like y'all will say.
• 10:06
Speaker 2: Things and I'm like, oh oh oh.
• 10:10
  Speaker 3: It was like she's a mother and I mean it's
• 10:11
Speaker 3: like she's on a house and I'm like, oh my,
• 10:16
Speaker 3: like we do go go. And I thought it was
• 10:19
Speaker 3: cool until one that she called me and she was like,
• 10:21
Speaker 3: this week, I can't do this back and forth with
• 10:23
Speaker 3: you would be there And I was like, first of all,
• 10:26
Speaker 3: I was you started every time and now you no,
• 10:31
Speaker 3: I do not accordially to put out your own message, liar.
• 10:36
Speaker 2: It's like sixty forty Sydney. I think it is.
• 10:40
Speaker 3: It's one hundred percent like for the most part out come,
• 10:43
Speaker 3: I'm chilling I'm vibing, and then here go Sidney saying
• 10:46
Speaker 3: something that now I gotta I gotta pull out my guns.
• 10:49
Speaker 2: Every week is different, but I do.
• 10:50
Speaker 3: Remember she hit you up and said, I can't do
• 10:52
Speaker 3: this with you this week, and then I want to say,
• 10:54
Speaker 3: the next time I saw y'all together.
• 10:55
  Speaker 2: She started it.
• 10:57
Speaker 3: No, she started it, and then I said, I thought
• 10:59
Speaker 3: we was off this week, and I took like a
• 11:01
Speaker 3: little few less blows than she did.
• 11:03
Speaker 1: But what do you think it is between the chemistry
• 11:07
Speaker 1: between you two, because I've seen you guys do it
• 11:09
Speaker 1: and it is shocking, you know, I mean, especially for
• 11:12
Speaker 1: people who are around you who aren't comedians, they.
• 11:15
Speaker 2: Must be like, what the fuck is happen Meina, we
• 11:17
Speaker 2: gotta slow down. In my family, I'm not gonna lie.
• 11:22
Speaker 3: That's that's a love language of ours, like dragging each other,
• 11:25
Speaker 3: like anything that I'm excited or happy about, Like with
• 11:28
Speaker 3: my sisters, I'll come, I'll send them a picture and
• 11:31
Speaker 3: like they'll congratulate, but like underneath it'll be a whole
• 11:34
Speaker 3: tagging of like what I'm wearing.
• 11:36
Speaker 2: With my hair, where I was at, who I was with.
• 11:39
Speaker 3: So it's just in my family, that's just that's kind
• 11:41
Speaker 3: of like a love language thing that we just go
• 11:43
Speaker 3: back and forth dragging each other. Just I mean, keep
• 11:46
Speaker 3: you humble, I keep sending me humble. I'd like to
• 11:48
Speaker 3: say one thing I come first of all. First of all,
• 11:52
  Speaker 3: I have a low armun I be. I be low
• 11:54
Speaker 3: most of the time. Amina stays coming in on a fout,
• 11:58
Speaker 3: so her energy she you already be on defense because
• 12:01
Speaker 3: you're like, well, what is she about to say?
• 12:03
Speaker 2: And then you know she did her capitaling and something
• 12:05
  Speaker 2: about that.
• 12:06
Speaker 3: Be like, oh my god, let me put the pause
• 12:08
Speaker 3: up because I know she's about to say something.
• 12:09
Speaker 2: I'm not gonna lie though.
• 12:10
Speaker 3: It keeps me, it keeps me sharp. I will say that.
• 12:12
  Speaker 3: That's why I think. I think that's why I like
• 12:14
Speaker 3: doing it, because it's like I know something, you're gonna
• 12:17
Speaker 3: come through with the with the left hook, and now
• 12:20
Speaker 3: I gotta come back.
• 12:20
Speaker 2: So yeah, I can see in the gym. Yeah yeah,
• 12:23
Speaker 2: it's just a gym. It's to work out.
• 12:25
Speaker 3: It's an open mic against like I guess our emotions
• 12:29
Speaker 3: or I don't know what it is that we do.
• 12:30
Speaker 3: But I look at Amna as a sister, and whenever
• 12:33
Speaker 3: we're doing it, I think I rarely be like, damn,
• 12:38
Speaker 3: you took it too far.
• 12:39
Speaker 2: Like once in a while, we did take it too far.
• 12:41
Speaker 3: One time, remember when you were standing over me asking
• 12:43
Speaker 3: me to pay you a vemo. I wanted to punch
• 12:45
Speaker 3: you in your face because I was like, girl, it
• 12:47
Speaker 3: ain't never day. I'm not gonna send you your money back.
• 12:50
Speaker 3: And she was like, she was like, pull your phone
• 12:52
Speaker 3: out and send it to me now.
• 12:53
Speaker 2: And I'm like, are you serious right now? So you
• 12:55
Speaker 2: took it too far. You're having a hard day.
• 12:57
Speaker 3: Friend was, but you took it too far with that
• 13:00
Speaker 3: coud sis. You don't have no problems them won't requesting
• 13:03
Speaker 3: somebody for five dollars.
• 13:04
Speaker 2: So there's that, and you've done that, and then do
• 13:08
