- 1:47SPEAKER_00: Let's go to Vegas, baby.
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: Let's go tonight.
- 1:53Sean McAllister: Welcome to Vegas Revealed, episode 147.
- 1:56Sean McAllister: Sean McAllister here along with Dana Roselli.
- 1:59Sean McAllister: And you know, Dana, as the year winds down, we're starting to get a glimpse at what it's looked like here in Las Vegas tourism-wise.
- 2:10Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 2:10Dayna Roselli: I mean, they always call it the year-enders, right?
- 2:12Dayna Roselli: It's like uh right around the holidays, you start to plan for what's coming up and how the year ended.
- 2:18Dayna Roselli: And, you know, we were recently looking at an article, and I showed you and I said, I don't know, I feel like we just talked about how visitor numbers were up and how people were spending more money.
- 2:27Dayna Roselli: And but we also talked about how things were getting more expensive, too.
- 2:31Sean McAllister: We have.
- 2:32Dayna Roselli: Last episode we talked all about that.
- 2:34Dayna Roselli: But this article specifically um had said that a fewer tourists were coming to Las Vegas and they were spending less as inflation takes a toll.
- 2:44Dayna Roselli: It was put out by Fox Business.
- 2:48Dayna Roselli: And gosh, we were reading it through, just kind of baffled.
- 2:51Dayna Roselli: Like everything seems to kind of be contradicting itself.
- 2:54Dayna Roselli: Like I know there's some like deep financial in-depth meaning behind all of it, and there's probably someone that might be correct about this, but then why were visitor numbers up?
- 3:09Dayna Roselli: Why are conventions back in National Finals rodeo and the Pac-12 games at Allegiant and all the concerts?
- 3:18Dayna Roselli: Um, but you were saying, as we listened more, that this expert was taking into consideration holiday numbers and and didn't count those or something?
- 3:29Sean McAllister: Yeah, so uh this report was all based on a study that was done by the UNLV School of Business.
- 3:36Sean McAllister: And they take a look at everything from uh visitor spending to hotel occupancy, like all of the factors that you put into uh a report like this.
- 3:49Sean McAllister: But what it says in there is that they adjust their findings based on holiday travel.
- 3:58Sean McAllister: They it's kind of like grading on a curve.
- 4:01Dayna Roselli: Yeah, right.
- 4:02Sean McAllister: Right?
- 4:02Dayna Roselli: And like holiday travel happens every year.
- 4:04Dayna Roselli: We're not taking that into consideration.
- 4:06Sean McAllister: Right, but I don't feel this is my opinion.
- 4:09Sean McAllister: Yeah, I am certainly not a business expert or a numbers analyst or anything like that.
- 4:16Sean McAllister: Just being fully transparent.
- 4:18Sean McAllister: But in my opinion, if a crap ton of visitors are traveling during the holidays, they're still visitors, yeah, and they're still spending money.
- 4:28Sean McAllister: They're still spending money.
- 4:29Sean McAllister: So who cares if it's a holiday or not?
- 4:32Dayna Roselli: I don't know.
- 4:34Dayna Roselli: I know it's so strange, right?
- 4:36Dayna Roselli: And like I get like inflation's gonna take a toll.
- 4:41Dayna Roselli: But also in Las Vegas, we also have a lot of wealthy people that come here.
- 4:46Dayna Roselli: And we do almost like I don't want to say inflation doesn't affect them, but in many ways it's a teeny dent, let's put it that way.
- 4:56Sean McAllister: They're still going out to dinner, they're still getting drinks, they're still gambling, which this report even points out as saying uh that that is an anomaly in their findings because for 20 straight months gambling in Las Vegas, casino wins have been above a billion dollars for 20 straight months.
- 5:18Sean McAllister: It's crazy.
- 5:19Dayna Roselli: We were looking at the graph too, and it's like it dipped down far in July, so we had like a slowdown, but then it's like spikes back up, right?
- 5:26Sean McAllister: Spikes right back up, and that was for uh airport travel.
- 5:30Sean McAllister: So visitors who have passed through Harry Reid International Airport here in Las Vegas.
- 5:36Sean McAllister: Yeah, there was a dip over the summer, but October we saw a record number of visitors again.
- 5:43Sean McAllister: So I don't know.
- 5:44Sean McAllister: I don't know.
- 5:45Sean McAllister: Take these studies and reports with a grain of salt because you know I'm sure that they have the numbers to back up their findings.
- 5:55Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 5:55Sean McAllister: But whatever.
- 5:57Dayna Roselli: If we have less tourists here and fewer tourists, now's the time to come then, because there's no lines to which is not the case if you actually come here.
- 6:06Sean McAllister: Exactly.
- 6:06Sean McAllister: There are lines and hotels are booked, and so are restaurants, and whatever.
- 6:12Sean McAllister: So that's the latest report that we've seen.
- 6:15unknown: Right.
- 6:16Sean McAllister: Uh that we do not agree with.
- 6:18Dayna Roselli: We do not agree with at all.
- 6:19Dayna Roselli: And listen, I've been talking with some people that listen to the podcast or follow us on social media lately that say, Hey, I actually had someone direct message us the other day.
- 6:27Dayna Roselli: Like, I'm just about to land.
- 6:28Dayna Roselli: I saw you went to that brewdog place.
- 6:30Dayna Roselli: Was it good?
- 6:31Dayna Roselli: And I was like, Yeah, you gotta go.
- 6:32Dayna Roselli: But um, there's a lot of people still visiting Vegas.
- 6:35Sean McAllister: There sure are.
- 6:36Sean McAllister: And a lot of good new things to experience while here.
- 6:40Sean McAllister: And you mentioned brew dog, Dana.
- 6:42Sean McAllister: You were over at the opening.
- 6:43Sean McAllister: I wasn't able to go because I was over at the Pac-12 championship game at Allegiant Stadium, which by the way was sold out 61,000 people crazy here for that conference championship.
- 6:56Dayna Roselli: So much fun.
- 6:57Sean McAllister: It's incredible.
- 6:58Dayna Roselli: You went to Cheeron, Utah, and they won.
- 7:00Sean McAllister: They won, so now they're onto the Rose Bowl playing Penn State.
- 7:03Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh.
- 7:03Dayna Roselli: And what a great experience to have that at Allegiant Stadium.
- 7:06Sean McAllister: It was so much fun.
- 7:08Dayna Roselli: So God, it did look fun.
- 7:09Dayna Roselli: It really did.
- 7:10Dayna Roselli: And a lot of people I saw were over there, and you know, some not even really there to like support either team, just to go for the experience.
- 7:19Sean McAllister: Yeah, exactly.
- 7:20Sean McAllister: College football.
- 7:20Sean McAllister: There were people who who did not show up in to represent USC or uh University of Utah.
- 7:28Sean McAllister: They just showed up in, you know, in neutral territory clothing and and we're just there for the love of the game.
- 7:36Dayna Roselli: For the love of the game.
- 7:38Dayna Roselli: So you were over there.
- 7:38Dayna Roselli: You couldn't make the brew dog opening.
- 7:40Dayna Roselli: I went over and I was there about 5 30 p.m.
- 7:43Dayna Roselli: It opened officially at 6 p.m.
- 7:45Dayna Roselli: that night.
- 7:46Dayna Roselli: And so I got a quick look around before it kind of got crowded, which was great.
- 7:50Dayna Roselli: Uh beautiful.
- 7:51Dayna Roselli: Okay, here I'm gonna, I don't want to like go on and on and on about the about everything because there's a long list of things.
- 7:57Dayna Roselli: So I want to get to the nuggets.
- 7:59Dayna Roselli: A, it's a must-visit place.
- 8:02Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 8:02Dayna Roselli: It's uh brewery, and the food was great.
- 8:08Dayna Roselli: The pizza was my favorite.
- 8:10Dayna Roselli: I got a spicy meat pizza.
- 8:11Dayna Roselli: It was delicious.
- 8:13Dayna Roselli: The like um pretzel was delicious, and it comes with like cheese and meats.
- 8:19Dayna Roselli: What do you call the uh like a charcuterie kind of pretzel?
- 8:24Dayna Roselli: Um, the burger comes out in this chest and they open it up and then it's like smoking.
- 8:29Dayna Roselli: Oh, the burger was great.
- 8:30Dayna Roselli: We all tried like a little bit of everything.
- 8:33Sean McAllister: Wow.
- 8:33Dayna Roselli: The beer list was amazing.
- 8:35Dayna Roselli: I like sour beers.
- 8:36Dayna Roselli: The weight staff was incredible because they help you pick out like what they think you would like, which I loved.
- 8:43Dayna Roselli: You can also do tastings.
- 8:46Dayna Roselli: I saw a couple tables with long rows of little glasses.
- 8:50Sean McAllister: Yeah, doing the flights.
- 8:51Dayna Roselli: They were doing the flights.
- 8:52Dayna Roselli: I don't even, but I was like, it was a long row.
- 8:53Dayna Roselli: I was like, you guys aren't, you're like you're committing to this tasting.
- 8:57Dayna Roselli: I'm talking there, must have been 20 little glasses in every row.
- 9:01Dayna Roselli: Oh, yeah, I have a video.
- 9:02Dayna Roselli: Actually, it's in the video I think I posted on our Instagram.
- 9:05Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's it's crazy.
- 9:07Dayna Roselli: And I was like, wow.
- 9:08Dayna Roselli: Um okay, that 360-degree view.
- 9:13Dayna Roselli: So you're looking right over the strip, you go to the end, you're looking at MGM, you can see City Center, you can see up and down Las Vegas Boulevard, um, right across from is it polo tower?
- 9:25Dayna Roselli: Is that still there?
- 9:26Dayna Roselli: Yeah, the polo tower is still there.
- 9:28Dayna Roselli: Polo towers, everything.
- 9:30Dayna Roselli: Um also variety of seating.
- 9:33Dayna Roselli: Like you can go from like a hanging little couch thing that hang, you know, what are the I don't know.
- 9:38Sean McAllister: A hammock?
- 9:39Dayna Roselli: No, it's like you sit up, it's a little like egg chair swing.
- 9:42Dayna Roselli: Oh, okay.
- 9:43Dayna Roselli: It looks kind of like an egg and you can sit in it.
- 9:45Dayna Roselli: Yeah, they have a bunch of those, they have beds and couches areas, they have regular seating, they have long tables, they have fire pits.
- 9:56Dayna Roselli: Uh Sean, they have everything.
- 9:58Sean McAllister: Wow.
- 9:59Dayna Roselli: And it's two floors.
- 10:01Dayna Roselli: One is outside completely, and then uh part of it is has a roof over it.
- 10:07Dayna Roselli: You go downstairs and there's an entire other floor, uh, all indoors.
- 10:12Dayna Roselli: But upstairs, the patio, too, it was a beautiful night.
- 10:15Dayna Roselli: Like, I don't know how you felt at Allegiance Stadium, but we were um, because you were kind of indoors, we were outdoors, and with the heat heater lamps, like I actually took my jacket off.
- 10:24Dayna Roselli: It was beautiful.
- 10:25Sean McAllister: It was a nice, yeah, it was a nice night.
- 10:27Dayna Roselli: Um, I think those are my highlights.
- 10:29Dayna Roselli: The staff's committed.
- 10:30Dayna Roselli: I asked someone where the restroom was.
- 10:32Dayna Roselli: He walked me all the way to it, arm in arm.
- 10:34Dayna Roselli: He was so much fun.
- 10:35Dayna Roselli: Our waiter um was a blast and trying to pick out things that he thought we loved.
- 10:39Dayna Roselli: Also, you like roll some dice to see if you win a dessert at the end of your meal.
- 10:44Dayna Roselli: There's just so much fun stuff.
- 10:45Sean McAllister: And that's just that happens like anytime you go.
- 10:48Dayna Roselli: I think it's anytime you go.
- 10:49Dayna Roselli: He said, This is what we do.
- 10:51Dayna Roselli: You get to roll, you have to roll a six.
- 10:53Dayna Roselli: That's really fun.
- 10:54Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 10:54Dayna Roselli: So brew dogs are all over, I think, the world.
- 10:57Dayna Roselli: And so we finally have one here in Las Vegas.
- 11:00Dayna Roselli: We often talk about how we need more patios in Las Vegas.
- 11:05Dayna Roselli: Um, this isn't a nightclub, but it is definitely um a place that you can go at night, see the view, eat, drink.
- 11:12Dayna Roselli: You can go for one beer, or you can go and sit down and and drink and eat.
- 11:17Dayna Roselli: It really doesn't matter.
- 11:18Dayna Roselli: They had a live band there that night.
- 11:19Dayna Roselli: I didn't stay that long for that.
- 11:21Dayna Roselli: Um, but live music.
- 11:24Dayna Roselli: I mean, what a I just feel like this place is gonna just rake up.
- 11:28Sean McAllister: Oh, I have no doubt.
- 11:30Sean McAllister: I mean, for the view alone, and then to know that the service is phenomenal.
- 11:36Sean McAllister: They have a huge selection of beers, a great menu.
- 11:39Sean McAllister: The ambiance there sounds fantastic.
- 11:42Sean McAllister: I'm sorry I didn't get over there uh for the opening, but uh we'll need to make a special trip and uh experience that for you a second time.
- 11:53Sean McAllister: Yeah, and for me, I'll be looking at it like through the eyes of a kid.
- 11:58Dayna Roselli: But luckily, I brought you uh over today some things to sample, some Elvis.
- 12:02Dayna Roselli: It was an Elvis Juice beer.
- 12:04Sean McAllister: Elvis juice beer, yeah.
- 12:05Dayna Roselli: That is uh, I think that's exclusive to Las Vegas, so that's kind of cool too.
- 12:09Dayna Roselli: And they sell it there, so we'll have to try that.
- 12:11Dayna Roselli: We haven't tried it yet because we've been busy and working and can't drink and work, but but um, and it's a 30,000 square foot bar, by the way, rooftop bar.
- 12:22Dayna Roselli: So um go to Vegas Revealed on Instagram.
- 12:27Dayna Roselli: I think I also have it on our Twitter, I have it on our TikTok.
- 12:30Dayna Roselli: Uh, we have tons of different clips of video, so you can get a look around.
- 12:35Dayna Roselli: If you have any questions, uh throw them our way and we'll let you know as much as we do.
- 12:39Dayna Roselli: But go visit.
- 12:40Dayna Roselli: Oh, and we didn't even talk about where it is.
- 12:42Dayna Roselli: Across from Park MGM, next to the Hard Rock Cafe and Flyover, right uh part of the showcase mall.
- 12:49Dayna Roselli: If you park in the showcase parking garage, you go down to the strip and walk north for a little bit, a couple blocks, a block maybe.
- 12:58Dayna Roselli: And then apparently there's some free parking lots behind there, behind the Target and the Walgreens.
- 13:03Dayna Roselli: I've never parked there before, but when they were letting us know how to get there, they did say there were some free lots around there, too.
- 13:08Dayna Roselli: So interesting.
- 13:09Dayna Roselli: Or if you're staying on the strip, just walk there.
- 13:11Sean McAllister: Perfect.
- 13:12Sean McAllister: Okay, so brew dog uh on the Las Vegas Strip with a phenomenal view.
- 13:19Sean McAllister: And if you're looking for a great view in downtown Las Vegas, the Legacy Club at Circa is unmatched.
- 13:28Sean McAllister: It's another rooftop spot that you've got to go to.
- 13:32Sean McAllister: And that's actually Dana, where we're going to be on December 16th.
- 13:37Sean McAllister: Uh, they're hosting an ugly sweater contest where being the ugliest gets you top prize.
- 13:47Dayna Roselli: And guess who the judges are?
- 13:48Dayna Roselli: Sean and I.
- 13:50Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh.
- 13:51Dayna Roselli: How do we get picked to judge these things?
- 13:52Dayna Roselli: So it's gonna be tough.
- 13:54Sean McAllister: It is going to be tough.
- 13:55Sean McAllister: I hope it's tough.
- 13:56Sean McAllister: I know, I hope it's a good idea.
- 13:56Sean McAllister: I hope people show up with some really hideous crap.
- 14:00Dayna Roselli: And it's always weird because you're usually like looking for the best, but we got to look for the ugliest, the ugliest sweater.
- 14:06Dayna Roselli: So I'm looking forward to this.
- 14:07Dayna Roselli: We're supposed to walk around, mingle, check it out.
- 14:09Dayna Roselli: So we're gonna be judging this contest.
- 14:11Dayna Roselli: It's 8 to 10 p.m.
- 14:12Dayna Roselli: It's at the legacy club, as Sean said.
- 14:15Dayna Roselli: It's a hundred bucks to get in, but you get uh themed cocktails, holiday cookies, live music, photo worthy views, and they have the ugly sweater contest.
- 14:28Dayna Roselli: And the winner is going to take home a bottle of bourbon, right?
- 14:34Dayna Roselli: Is it bourbon?
- 14:35Dayna Roselli: I thought I wrote this in a book.
- 14:36Dayna Roselli: Yeah, bourbon.
- 14:38Sean McAllister: And it's very exclusive.
- 14:40Sean McAllister: Uh, they limit the number of bottles that you're even uh allowed to get as a a customer, but uh Circa and the Legacy Club have secured a deal with the maker of this bourbon, and um they have their own uh keg, their own barrel of this uh Blanton's bourbon that uh they serve exclusively at Circa in the Legacy Club.
- 15:14Sean McAllister: So they have access to this, and that's why they're they're making this bottle of Blanton's single barrel bourbon, the prize for the ugly sweater contest, because it is a very coveted spirit.
- 15:28Dayna Roselli: It sure is, yeah, and I'm sure it's pricey too, so it's a big win, right?
- 15:32Dayna Roselli: Um, it's gonna be a fun night.
- 15:34Dayna Roselli: I'm looking forward to that, and uh, we are thrilled to be a part of it.
- 15:38Dayna Roselli: So we thank circa for choosing us to be the judges.
- 15:41Dayna Roselli: And again, it's 8 to 10 p.m.
- 15:44Dayna Roselli: 100 bucks gets you in the door, and pretty much everything's included, and it's gonna be a fun night.
- 15:50Dayna Roselli: So, and you just really again can't beat the view.
- 15:53Dayna Roselli: Places with a view.
- 15:54Dayna Roselli: I just feel like our people that live here, but all our visitors really need to stop by these places because we have views from all angles, and we're just such a unique city.
- 16:06Sean McAllister: They do.
- 16:06Sean McAllister: Maybe we'll I'll add that to my uh post-it note here of future show ideas.
- 16:11Sean McAllister: Yeah, and do the best views in Vegas.
- 16:14Dayna Roselli: That's a good one.
- 16:15Dayna Roselli: That's a good one.
- 16:16Dayna Roselli: See it circa on the 16th, everyone.
- 16:18Dayna Roselli: Come say hello.
- 16:20Dayna Roselli: Also, this week we are going to actually now.
- 16:23Dayna Roselli: Let's see.
- 16:24Dayna Roselli: Okay, this runs on a Saturday.
- 16:25Dayna Roselli: We have already gone to, but we are recording this before we've gone to a new restaurant opening.
- 16:31Dayna Roselli: We're going to talk in depth about this uh next week.
- 16:34Dayna Roselli: It's Villa Azure.
- 16:36Dayna Roselli: It's at the Grand Canal Shops.
- 16:38Dayna Roselli: Whole slew of celebs expected to be there.
- 16:41Dayna Roselli: Um, again, this is another restaurant that's decided to open in Las Vegas in addition to other cities that they already have locations.
- 16:51Dayna Roselli: So we're becoming like we're really getting on the map here with these restaurants.
- 16:55Dayna Roselli: We always have, but it's like more and more, I feel like.
- 16:58Sean McAllister: Yeah, and the ambiance here is supposed to um kind of draw people away from from nightclubs and have a dinner experience with a nightclub experience mixed in.
- 17:09Sean McAllister: So it's going to be really fun to uh be over and and and experience everything that Villa Azure has to offer.
- 17:17Sean McAllister: And as Dana mentioned, we will be talking in depth about that uh next week, here on Vegas Revealed.
- 17:25Dayna Roselli: So, are you a fan of the red hot chili peppers?
- 17:28Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 17:29Sean McAllister: Give it away, give it away, give it away now.
- 17:32Dayna Roselli: Well, they are coming to Allegiant Stadium, making a little stop here on their tour.
- 17:38Dayna Roselli: It's no April Fool's joke, but they're coming April 1st.
- 17:42Sean McAllister: Okay, okay.
- 17:43Dayna Roselli: Tickets go on to sale to the public on December 9th.
- 17:47Dayna Roselli: That means they are on sale already.
- 17:49Dayna Roselli: And they apparently just announced this 2023 tour and made sure to put Las Vegas on the map.
- 17:55Sean McAllister: And another musician who's coming to town is Michael Bolton.
- 18:00Sean McAllister: He's going to take audiences through a on a journey through pop, rock, soul, standards, even a little bit of classical music.
- 18:08Sean McAllister: His concert is March 9th over at the Pearl Concert Theater at the Palms.
- 18:14Sean McAllister: So if you know, if you listen to Michael Bolton on the the smooth, smooth 101.
- 18:23Dayna Roselli: Warm 101.3 in Rochester, New York.
- 18:26Dayna Roselli: That's what I grew up with.
- 18:28Sean McAllister: I used to listen to that in the dentist office.
- 18:30Sean McAllister: Oh yeah.
- 18:30Sean McAllister: Dr.
- 18:31Sean McAllister: Twitchell's office.
- 18:32Dayna Roselli: Dr.
- 18:33Dayna Roselli: Twitchell.
- 18:35Dayna Roselli: I love it.
- 18:36Dayna Roselli: I love it.
- 18:36Dayna Roselli: Oh, yeah.
- 18:37Dayna Roselli: The warm channels are the best.
- 18:38Dayna Roselli: Yeah, Michael Bolton, you know, such a variety uh of music through the years.
- 18:43Dayna Roselli: I know that'll be a great concert for sure.
- 18:45Dayna Roselli: So if you want to check out Michael Bolton, do it.
- 18:48Dayna Roselli: Um, we also want to talk about what's going on on New Year's Eve.
- 18:52Dayna Roselli: And so we save that for our tips.
- 18:54Dayna Roselli: Let's do it.
- 19:00Sean McAllister: And every year, Dana, we know Las Vegas is like top on the list of New Year's Eve destinations.
- 19:08Sean McAllister: Although the author of the study that we talked about at the beginning of the podcast would probably discount the tourism from New Year's Eve because it's a holiday.
- 19:17Sean McAllister: We don't discount it.
- 19:19Sean McAllister: We love it because hundreds of thousands of people come in.
- 19:22Dayna Roselli: Oh my God.
- 19:23Dayna Roselli: It's such a big deal.
- 19:24Dayna Roselli: We have such a great New Year's Eve year after year.
- 19:27Dayna Roselli: Um, you know, you can go to Times Square and uh stand there and be really cold.
- 19:34Dayna Roselli: But speaking of, I'm gonna tell a story about that really quick.
- 19:37Dayna Roselli: I went live on TikTok the other day and we had a couple people that listened to the podcast.
- 19:42Dayna Roselli: I say a couple that, like, you know, we had people in the live that hadn't listened to the podcast yet and hopefully will now.
- 19:48Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 19:49Dayna Roselli: But we had a few people in there, a couple people in there, I should say, that really asked a lot of questions and were interacting that do listen to the podcast.
- 19:56Dayna Roselli: And they were saying um, they used to live in New York and they used to go to Times Square and that it was freezing, you don't move, you're stuck in your spot the whole time.
- 20:08Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's part of the whatever, but that they were looking forward to New Year's Eve in Las Vegas because I mean, we have a Times Square-esque kind of feel.
- 20:20Sean McAllister: There's a vibe for sure.
- 20:22Dayna Roselli: But you can move.
- 20:22Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 20:23Dayna Roselli: Because you can walk up and down the strip and not have to be like gridlocked in there.
- 20:28Dayna Roselli: And people go in and out of the buildings.
- 20:30Dayna Roselli: If you're staying, especially if you're staying at a certain hotel, you can exit, you can enter.
- 20:34Dayna Roselli: I mean, they have certain restrictions and shut-off areas and stuff to make it safe and easy flow easier.
- 20:39Dayna Roselli: But I feel like we're such a better spot for New Year's Eve than New Times Square.
- 20:46Dayna Roselli: And we also have free fireworks.
- 20:48Sean McAllister: We do.
- 20:49Dayna Roselli: So that's great.
- 20:50Dayna Roselli: Anyway, she was asking.
- 20:51Dayna Roselli: Um, she also was saying that she was moving, um, and it might have been another one because we had a few in there.
- 20:55Dayna Roselli: Somebody else was saying they were had just moved here, hadn't had a New Year's Eve here yet.
- 21:00Dayna Roselli: And I think they moved from possibly Detroit, and they were wondering what to do on New Year's Eve that was fun, affordable, or free.
- 21:08Dayna Roselli: And I said, Well, our fireworks.
- 21:10Dayna Roselli: And she was like, Well, I didn't know you had fireworks.
- 21:12Dayna Roselli: And I was like, We have the best fireworks off like 11 different, you know, hotel casinos, and it's right at midnight, and there's a countdown, and and it's a beautiful show.
- 21:22Dayna Roselli: So, anyway, that's my recap there.
- 21:24Sean McAllister: And doesn't the strat usually do a count up?
- 21:27Sean McAllister: Yes, aren't there like fireworks that shoot out the side as it goes 10, 9, 8?
- 21:33Sean McAllister: And then when it gets to the top, then it's like the whole firework show goes.
- 21:37Dayna Roselli: It could be, it could be.
- 21:38Dayna Roselli: You know what?
- 21:39Dayna Roselli: So many years I've had to stand on the strip and report from like right in front of Planet Hollywood that I never would see that part.
- 21:45Dayna Roselli: But I think so.
- 21:46Sean McAllister: Because it's right around the bend.
- 21:47Sean McAllister: Around the bend.
- 21:48Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and I would always have to, you know, be on live or whatever.
- 21:51Dayna Roselli: So, but I do remember seeing that, so it sounds like it.
- 21:55Dayna Roselli: Um, and anyway, we had a lot of people on the TikTok live.
- 21:59Dayna Roselli: If you want us to do That more often let us know, but we were getting a lot of questions about New Year's Eve.
- 22:03Dayna Roselli: Fireworks are free.
- 22:04Dayna Roselli: That's what I was gonna say, and it's better than Times Square.
- 22:06Dayna Roselli: That's my two cents.
- 22:07Dayna Roselli: Okay, what else is going on, Sean?
- 22:10Sean McAllister: So we have hometown band The Killers, who are performing at the Cosmopolitan for New Year's Eve, uh in the Chelsea, uh, that's the showroom concert venue over there at the Cosmopolitan.
- 22:24Sean McAllister: Uh tickets are already on sale.
- 22:28Sean McAllister: So if you want to be involved in the Killers concert for New Year's Eve, uh that's gonna be a good one.
- 22:35SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 22:36Sean McAllister: The killers are always so good in being in their hometown on New Year's Eve.
- 22:41Sean McAllister: That'll be a special show.
- 22:42Dayna Roselli: And then I was talking to someone recently who was saying we're really trying to go to the Bruno Mars show on New Year's Eve.
- 22:47Dayna Roselli: So because I forgot that came out recently, right?
- 22:50Dayna Roselli: It wasn't even like that long ago that he announced a New Year's Eve show.
- 22:53Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 22:53Dayna Roselli: So I think that's at Park MGM.
- 22:55Sean McAllister: Park MGM, yeah.
- 22:56Sean McAllister: And that's a phenomenal show too.
- 22:58Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 22:58Dayna Roselli: Then here's our favorite DJ Pauly D is gonna be over at Marquee.
- 23:04Dayna Roselli: We love DJ Pauly D.
- 23:05Sean McAllister: We do.
- 23:06Dayna Roselli: He lives here, we've run into him a few times in town uh through the years.
- 23:11Dayna Roselli: We did a shoot with him about a year ago.
- 23:12Dayna Roselli: He just he's good people, good vibes, and he plays good music.
- 23:17Sean McAllister: And when he's and when he saw us, he was like, Hey guys, we're like Pauly.
- 23:25Sean McAllister: How's it going, bud?
- 23:26Dayna Roselli: He's just always in a good mood.
- 23:27Dayna Roselli: I like it.
- 23:28Sean McAllister: He is so happy.
- 23:30Dayna Roselli: He is, and you know what?
- 23:31Dayna Roselli: I've actually never been to.
- 23:32Dayna Roselli: We we did a shoot with him that time at Sugar Factory, but I've actually never been out to a club where he's been the main DJ of the night, and I can only imagine it would be so much fun.
- 23:41Dayna Roselli: So we're glad he's gonna be planted here on New Year's Eve this year, Marquee over at the Cosmopolitan.
- 23:48Sean McAllister: And if you're looking for a spot to hang out, have dinner, spend the evening, and not be immediately on the strip, but be able to take in the perks of the strip, especially the fireworks at midnight, uh, the front yard over at Ellis Island may be the place to be.
- 24:07Sean McAllister: They're having an all-inclusive New Year's Eve party over there at the front yard for$65 per person, which when you look at other ticket prices for New Year's Eve parties on or near the strip, that's a great ticket price.
- 24:23Dayna Roselli: It is.
- 24:24Sean McAllister: And that's for drinks, for food, for you know, taking in the fireworks and all that.
- 24:30Sean McAllister: But uh, they also are taking reservations for dinner over at the front yard from 4 p.m.
- 24:37Sean McAllister: to 2 a.m.
- 24:40Sean McAllister: They have an incredible menu option, Dana.
- 24:44Sean McAllister: They have a surf and turf meal for$29.
- 24:50Dayna Roselli: Wow, that's really good.
- 24:52Sean McAllister: This is a filet, shrimp, I'm starving right now, potatoes, and vegetables for$29.
- 24:59Dayna Roselli: That's great.
- 25:00Dayna Roselli: Especially for New Year's Eve.
- 25:01Dayna Roselli: I mean, I know it's in addition to getting, but you're getting the open bar and the bites and all the atmosphere and the fireworks for 65 bucks.
- 25:09Dayna Roselli: And if you want to like up your game and spend another 29.
- 25:12Sean McAllister: For another 30, yeah.
- 25:13Sean McAllister: For under 100 bucks.
- 25:15Sean McAllister: That's great.
- 25:16Sean McAllister: Get all that cheese.
- 25:17Dayna Roselli: Oh, yeah.
- 25:17Dayna Roselli: And let's talk about the front yard.
- 25:19Dayna Roselli: We've talked about it in the past, but how do we describe what it's like half and half?
- 25:22Dayna Roselli: Like what do you call it?
- 25:24Dayna Roselli: Like uh the top is kind of open, but it's not necessarily a patio, but there's like open sides.
- 25:33Dayna Roselli: And I think they can also lift the sides, right?
- 25:35Sean McAllister: Yeah, an enclosed patio.
- 25:38Sean McAllister: It's like if you have a sunroom on the back of your house where the windows open up.
- 25:43Sean McAllister: It's almost like that.
- 25:45Sean McAllister: But the the front yard, it's a a two-story venue at the front of Ellis Island.
- 25:51Sean McAllister: It's a great I love it.
- 25:53Dayna Roselli: I love it too.
- 25:54Dayna Roselli: You're right.
- 25:54Dayna Roselli: It is a great, great spot.
- 25:56Dayna Roselli: And and and it is just off the strip.
- 25:59Dayna Roselli: So there's that view of the strip.
- 26:01Dayna Roselli: I never thought about going to see the fireworks there.
- 26:03Dayna Roselli: It's a great idea.
- 26:04Sean McAllister: And they're also opening up uh the fifth floor of the parking garage at Ellis Island as another firework viewing location.
- 26:14Sean McAllister: So there's no cars up there.
- 26:16Sean McAllister: It's going to be a viewing spot for the fireworks.
- 26:18Dayna Roselli: Perfect.
- 26:19Dayna Roselli: I love it.
- 26:19Dayna Roselli: I love it.
- 26:20Dayna Roselli: So there are some options, right?
- 26:23Dayna Roselli: For everyone.
- 26:24Dayna Roselli: Um, we could go on and on and talk about so much stuff.
- 26:27Dayna Roselli: We are kind of in this work mode of everyone's trying to get stuff done for the end of the year.
- 26:32Dayna Roselli: So we've been busy.
- 26:33Dayna Roselli: It feels like we whizzed through this podcast.
- 26:35Dayna Roselli: What are we at time-wise?
- 26:36Dayna Roselli: Because we've been going 39 minutes.
- 26:39Sean McAllister: 25 minutes.
- 26:40Dayna Roselli: Okay, it just feels so short, right?
- 26:42Sean McAllister: It does.
- 26:43Dayna Roselli: But but we gotta wrap it up because we have things to do.
- 26:45Sean McAllister: I know.
- 26:46Sean McAllister: It's been slammed lately.
- 26:47Sean McAllister: We we thought we were gonna coast through the end of the year.
- 26:50Sean McAllister: I know, but it things just business is good.
- 26:55Dayna Roselli: Business is good.
- 26:56Dayna Roselli: We can't complain, right?
- 26:57Dayna Roselli: I mean, but we've been even chatting about like we've got to say no to some things at the end of the month because we gotta fit in business and family and friends and holiday events.
- 27:06Dayna Roselli: So um, we are lucky to be busy.
- 27:09Dayna Roselli: Download the Vegas Near Me app.
- 27:11Dayna Roselli: Go to the link in our show notes.
- 27:13Dayna Roselli: And if you're coming into town for New Year's Eve, that's a perfect reason to download this app.
- 27:18Dayna Roselli: Navigate yourself around Las Vegas really easily.
- 27:21Sean McAllister: Yeah, keep it in your pocket.
- 27:23Sean McAllister: It's a great resource on the go.
- 27:26Sean McAllister: Uh Vegas Near Me, you can find it in the Apple App Store.
- 27:29Sean McAllister: Make sure you have iOS 16 downloaded on your device to uh make the app run as it's supposed to.
- 27:37Dayna Roselli: All right.
- 27:38Dayna Roselli: Well, listen, have a great week, everyone.
- 27:40Dayna Roselli: As I said, we went to that restaurant opening at the Grand Canal Shops, and we will be talking about that next week.
- 27:46Dayna Roselli: Lots of good stuff there.
- 27:48Dayna Roselli: And I think we're doing a few other things too.
- 27:50Dayna Roselli: Oh, we're going to social darts too, so we'll talk about that as well at some point.
- 27:54Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 27:54Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 27:54Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 27:56SPEAKER_00: Drive on through the night.
- 27:58SPEAKER_00: The desert sky is cold, but in the eyes from Ray.
