- 0:00Speaker 1: Coach, when we talked at halftime, there were things that
- 0:02Speaker 1: needed to be adjusted, and the team came out and
- 0:05Speaker 1: grew that lead and got the win on the road.
- 0:07Speaker 1: What did you like most about the second-half performance?
- 0:10Speaker 2: Well, I think our resiliency in the fourth quarter. I mean,
- 0:12Speaker 2: we didn't piss a drop in the third quarter, and,
- 0:14Speaker 2: you know, we took their best punch. We knew we
- 0:16Speaker 2: were going to come out and play really solid in
- 0:19Speaker 2: the third quarter. It's a good football team and a
- 0:21Speaker 2: disciplined one. So to be able to take their punch
- 0:23Speaker 2: and to be able to come back, you know, just
- 0:26Speaker 2: proud of the resiliency and the fight in our team.
- 0:28Speaker 1: That last drive, up 11, you keep it on the ground,
- 0:31Speaker 1: the offensive line, the running backs. What did that group
- 0:34Speaker 1: show you about salting a game away?
- 0:37Speaker 2: Well, I mean, you've got to be able to gain
- 0:38Speaker 2: tough yards. And, you know, we've got the quarterback that
- 0:40Speaker 2: can run like he can run. It keeps the defense honest. And,
- 0:42Speaker 2: you know, just really good individual efforts by our backs. And,
- 0:45Speaker 2: you know, our line fought the whole day, right? I mean,
- 0:48Speaker 2: that first two drives of the game, I mean, they
- 0:50Speaker 2: really controlled the line of scrimmage. And, you know, other
- 0:52Speaker 2: than for a couple moments in the third quarter, I
- 0:54Speaker 2: thought they played really, really solid all day long.
- 0:57Speaker 1: The defense, four sacks, a couple of forced fumbles. It
- 0:59Speaker 1: feels like the group has been waiting to make those
- 1:02Speaker 1: kind of big plays all year. Did it feel like
- 1:05Speaker 1: they were finally able to cash in?
- 1:07Speaker 2: Well, I think, you know, obviously momentum is huge in
- 1:09Speaker 2: college sports, and turnovers are a major part of that
- 1:11Speaker 2: in this game. And, you know, if you can produce
- 1:13Speaker 2: points off of turnovers, which we're able to do today,
- 1:16Speaker 2: that's a backbreaker for the other team. So key spots,
- 1:19Speaker 2: they got big turnovers, and we were able to capitalize
- 1:21Speaker 2: on them, and a big lift for your team in
- 1:23Speaker 2: those moments. But I'm proud of some of the individual
- 1:25Speaker 2: efforts over there. Again, there, you know, you don't start
- 1:27Speaker 2: the game how you want to start it, but our
- 1:29Speaker 2: kids settled in and played a really solid second half
- 1:31Speaker 2: on defense.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Yeah, who jumped off the page, actually, just in terms
- 1:34Speaker 1: of the individual defensive performances?
- 1:37Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, you know, I don't get much into that.
- 1:40Speaker 2: You know, I think it's team defense. I think it's,
- 1:41Speaker 2: you know, whether you're playing really good or you're playing
- 1:43Speaker 2: really bad. You know, it's easy to pick out the
- 1:45Speaker 2: individual guys on offense, too, because they carry the ball,
- 1:47Speaker 2: but Really, it's an 11-man unit. Like I said earlier,
- 1:51Speaker 2: just proud of the team, their resiliency. We are far
- 1:54Speaker 2: from a finished product. We've got a long way to go.
- 1:55Speaker 2: We've got a bye week here to catch our breath
- 1:58Speaker 2: and get some guys healthy and really good at work
- 2:00Speaker 2: on us.
- 2:00Speaker 1: Coach, thanks so much.
