Speaker 1: Oh yes, go in here, worry about that.
• 0:05
  Speaker 2: Okay, let's see now I U. I went to my
• 0:10
geek news aggregator, and I saw two names that I recognized,
• 0:18
The Fly and the Mole People.
• 0:22
Speaker 1: Fly and the Mole People was a flash Gordon.
• 0:27
Speaker 2: Is an old horror movie, yeah, from a long time ago.
• 0:31
But the Fly was also an old horror movie from
• 0:33
a long time ago, then remade by David Cronenberg in
• 0:36
nineteen eighty six, which I encourage you to go watch that.
• 0:40
Speaker 1: It's so good. But this is just because of because
• 0:47
of the interest in body horror.
• 0:50
Speaker 2: Like the substance, substance and all that, movie companies taking
• 0:56
look at their libraries and going what do we got?
• 1:00
Speaker 1: Let's look back at something.
• 1:01
Speaker 2: And the Fly would certainly be part of that. So
• 1:06
a fresh room, it says the person who made the
• 1:11
Nanny twenty twenty two full corpor tale Nanny Nikiyata Jusu
• 1:17
is working on a new version of The Fly. Now
• 1:20
here's the interesting part. It is set in the universe
• 1:24
of the David Cronenberg film, the Jeff Goldblum movie, right,
• 1:28
so it won't be a straight remake son of the Fly,
• 1:32
like I've discovered I've discovered this research that was done
• 1:36
  years ago.
• 1:37
Speaker 1: Let's see if so.
• 1:39
Speaker 2: Yeah, if you get a chance to see this, Jeff Goldbloom,
• 1:41
Geena Davis, they were dating at the time, you know.
• 1:43
But it's just such a great movie, go and check
• 1:49
it out. But yeah, because of movies like The Substance
• 1:51
and their success, they're looking at body horror now Mole People.
• 1:56
When I looked into that story, I was a little
• 1:58
disappointed because it's not the same thing. It's not the
• 2:02
it's not the Race of Mole People.
• 2:04
Speaker 1: Oh no, no, it is it because I'm there. I
• 2:07
know I've seen a movie where it's a race of.
• 2:09
Speaker 2: Google it, Google image it. You'll see what I'm talking about.
• 2:11
That's the old Mole People. But this is Robert Savage,
• 2:15
who did the host and dash cam is attached to
• 2:18
direct Mole People. It is going to be a found
• 2:21
footage horror movie focusing on one man's nightmarish descent into
• 2:24
the abandoned tunnels beneath the streets of New York City
• 2:28
where a twisted society lurks. So they won't be creatures,
• 2:33
they're just regular people, but they're they're people who are
• 2:37
who are bad people, bad people Okay.
• 2:39
Speaker 1: The original Mole People nineteen fifty six. That's the one.
• 2:43
A science fiction movie and it is. It is a
• 2:45
race of and it's people in costumes.
• 2:49
Speaker 2: Yeah, make them look like I remember seeing it on
• 2:51
The Big Money Movie and thinking it was kind of boring.
• 2:53
Speaker 1: A mystery science theater did a take on it.
• 2:57
Speaker 2: That was the good version to watch this video game,
• 3:01
God of War. They've been trying to make this into
• 3:04
a TV series for about two and a half years now,
• 3:07
and the people who are charged with it just we
• 3:10
  got nothing.
• 3:11
  Speaker 1: We got nothing.
• 3:12
Speaker 2: Well, let's turn it over to Ronald D. Moore. If
• 3:14
he can take Battlestar Galactica and make it say who's that,
• 3:18
then he can certaly own He's responsible for a lot
• 3:20
of great sci fi right now, Battlestar Galactica, for All Mankind, Outlander.
• 3:25
He has been placed in charge of the God of
• 3:27
War franchise. This Running Man movie keeps getting bigger and bigger.
• 3:32
  Speaker 1: William H.
• 3:34
Speaker 2: Macy has joined the cast Edgar Wright directing Lee Pace,
• 3:39
Michael Sarah, Josh Brolind, Katie O'Brien. Of course, good looking
• 3:44
guy Glenn Powell leading the way. It'll be interesting and
• 3:47
if you get a chance I found running man. I
• 3:50
can't remember which streaming service it's on now, the original
• 3:53
with Schwarzenegger, and I'm gonna go back and rewatch it
• 3:56
  sometime soon.
• 3:57
Speaker 1: Go back to The Fly for a second carry. Yes,
• 4:00
so I thought there'd been a sequel. There was, yeah,
• 4:03
Fly Too. So there was the Croneberg The Fly, and
• 4:08
then there was The Fly Too, but it was only
• 4:10
released on DVD. It was terrible. Eric Stoltz was in it.
• 4:13
But listen, there's a box set the original nineteen fifty
• 4:17
eight Fly, Return of the Fly, Curse of the Fly,
• 4:22
and then the nineteen eighty six The Fly and the
• 4:25
Fly to All Your Flies. Yeah, they're all available in
• 4:28
  a box set.
• 4:28
Speaker 2: Some interesting and that's well, that's good enough. I had
• 4:32
another story, but it's going to take too long to
• 4:34
get to and we're out of time.
