- 0:02Speaker 1: This is a Bramble Jam podcast.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Welcome to Girls Gone Hallmark, a Hallmark and sometimes Netflix
- 0:25Speaker 2: review podcast. I'm Megan and I'm a longtime Hallmark fan.
- 0:29Speaker 3: I'm Wendy, I'm a former Hallmark hater.

- 0:34Speaker 2: episode four. We are reviewing every episode of this series weekly.
- 0:39Speaker 2: This episode is titled The Storm and it is currently
- 0:43Speaker 2: available to stream on Netflix. If you are new to
- 0:47Speaker 2: us because of these Netflix reviews, welcome. We typically are
- 0:50Speaker 2: a Hallmark review podcast. We do Hallmark movies, Hallmark series,
- 0:54Speaker 2: but we are expanding our reach a little bit into
- 0:57Speaker 2: Netflix and perhaps other streamers.
- 1:00Speaker 1: So thank you for joining us.
- 1:01Speaker 2: And if you have ideas for shows that you would

- 1:13Speaker 3: Hey, if you want to join our Facebook group, we
- 1:15Speaker 3: have one. It is called Girls Gone Hallmark. It's Hallmark
- 1:18Speaker 3: heavy over there. It doesn't have to be, though, if
- 1:20Speaker 3: you want to come in and talk about Ripple. People
- 1:22Speaker 3: have been talking about Ripple over there. We'd love to
- 1:25Speaker 3: invite you Girls Gone Hallmark in Facebook.
- 1:28Speaker 2: Groups it's kind of a safe space on the Internet.
- 1:30Speaker 2: We're real protective of that space over there and the
- 1:34Speaker 2: way people talk. You're allowed to have all the opinions
- 1:36Speaker 2: you want, but we are committed to making it a supportive,
- 1:41Speaker 2: inclusive environment over there.
- 1:43Speaker 1: So it is a little bit different than some other groups.
- 1:46Speaker 3: On the Internet. I will say, I agree. Hey, before
- 1:50Speaker 3: we jump into this episode, can I talk about some
- 1:54Speaker 3: breaking news it's not that breaking.
- 1:57Speaker 1: About one of the stars of this show.
- 2:00Speaker 3: Ian Harding. Yes, so, Deadline reported it's we're eighteenth that
- 2:07Speaker 3: Ian Harding and his Pretty Little Liar's co star Lucy
- 2:11Speaker 3: Hale are reuniting for a Christmas holiday romcom movie called
- 2:16Speaker 3: The Twelve Dates of Christmas.
- 2:18Speaker 2: I know there are so many iterations of that title
- 2:22Speaker 2: out there. It's got to be terrible for SEO one
- 2:25Speaker 2: hundred percent. That has been a lingering question if you
- 2:28Speaker 2: guys don't know what we're talking about. Hallmark has put
- 2:30Speaker 2: out an incredible six episode series called Twelve Dates Till Christmas, which.
- 2:37Speaker 3: Is a It's based on a book. The book is
- 2:40Speaker 3: called The Twelve Dates of Christmas.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Correct.
- 2:44Speaker 3: Yes, so they did change it, tweak it a little bit,
- 2:48Speaker 3: but now we have like this coming out as well well.
- 2:53Speaker 2: And there's also a Hallmark movie called On the Twelfth
- 2:56Speaker 2: Date of Christmas, and I believe there's another movie called
- 3:01Speaker 2: The Twelve Dates of Christmas.
- 3:04Speaker 3: Yeah, it's kind of confusing, but also what this is
- 3:09Speaker 3: what it strikes me this is basically the same story
- 3:14Speaker 3: we have. Lucy Hale is a successful shop owner who
- 3:18Speaker 3: has devoted her energy to her career at the expense
- 3:21Speaker 3: of her dating life, and her siblings promise to make
- 3:27Speaker 3: her go on twelve dates in the twelve weeks leading
- 3:29Speaker 3: up to Christmas in hopes of finding mister Wright. I
- 3:33Speaker 3: don't know if Ian is a friend, if he is
- 3:38Speaker 3: a potential date or what.
- 3:40Speaker 1: Come on, he's got to be the guy.
- 3:42Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm guessing he's he's got to be the guy.
- 3:44Speaker 3: But I don't I'm I'm gonna guess this is This
- 3:49Speaker 3: is not for Hallmark. No, I gonna guess. It doesn't
- 3:53Speaker 3: say who it's for. But interesting. People are really hyped
- 3:56Speaker 3: on seeing these two back together again.
- 3:59Speaker 2: Yeah, they put a teaser of them together and everyone's like,
- 4:02Speaker 2: what does it mean?
- 4:03Speaker 1: What does it mean? It's pretty little liars coming back?
- 4:05Speaker 3: But no, Yeah, I'm hoping we get to talk to
- 4:08Speaker 3: Ian soon and we can get a better understanding of
- 4:11Speaker 3: this project.
- 4:12Speaker 1: Indeed, he hands booked and busy these days.
- 4:15Speaker 3: He sure is, and I see why I'm a big
- 4:21Speaker 3: shan me too. I have no chill if we interview
- 4:24Speaker 3: this guy, I have no freaking chill. Guys, all right,
- 4:29Speaker 3: are you ready for a synopsis? Let's hear Episode four,
- 4:32Speaker 3: The Storm. Chris returns home reflecting on where she first
- 4:36Speaker 3: fell in love with music. Walter decides to pick up
- 4:39Speaker 3: basketball again and gets a warm reception. The synopsis synopsis
- 4:45Speaker 3: available on IMDb are really limited week very weak. I
- 4:50Speaker 3: don't know who's putting these in there, but give us,
- 4:52Speaker 3: give us some more. I mean more than that happens, Guys,
- 4:55Speaker 3: It's not Walter just decides to pick a basketball again.
- 5:01Speaker 2: No, no, By the way, Walter is my MVP.
- 5:05Speaker 3: He is my most favorite character on the show. I
- 5:10Speaker 3: want to protect this man in bubble wrap.
- 5:12Speaker 1: Show about Walter. I'm so worried about Walter.
- 5:15Speaker 3: I think Frankie Faison is so good, He's in what
- 5:19Speaker 3: a tuble?
- 5:20Speaker 1: Such a good actor. Yes, and Walter's trajectory is mostly positive,
- 5:26Speaker 1: which has me worried.
- 5:28Speaker 3: I know.
- 5:30Speaker 2: Let's talk news and notes before we talk all about
- 5:32Speaker 2: this episode. Scott Smith directed this episode of Ripple. He
- 5:36Speaker 2: was responsible for last week's episode, The twenty. In addition
- 5:39Speaker 2: to a number of Hallmark projects, he recently directed several
- 5:41Speaker 2: episodes of the CW series Moonshine.
- 5:44Speaker 3: Kita Robinson wrote this episode. Among her previous writing credits
- 5:48Speaker 3: include the series Blackish, Glow, and You're the Worst, as
- 5:52Speaker 3: well as New Girl.
- 5:53Speaker 2: Our cast returns Frankie Fayson is Walter, Julia chanis Chris
- 5:57Speaker 2: Ian Harding is Nate, Sydney Agadong as Aria, Marcyta House
- 6:01Speaker 2: as Tara, and Sarah Swier as Ellis. Also returning, we
- 6:04Speaker 2: have Robert Bizzacci as John Vanessa Smyth is Clear, and
- 6:07Speaker 2: Nicola Correa de Moude as Sylvie. Milton Barnes joins the
- 6:11Speaker 2: cast as Walter's friend Bill Fisher. Milton has one hundred
- 6:14Speaker 2: and twenty one acting credits and has recently been in
- 6:17Speaker 2: Mistletoe Murders on Hallmark. Also David in Disguise, John Wayne
- 6:22Speaker 2: Gacy and the series Doc Man. Lots of crossover with
- 6:25Speaker 2: Doc Yes, hospital shows tend to have a lot of
- 6:30Speaker 2: you know, you need a lot of patience people coming
- 6:32Speaker 2: through the door. Yeah, Danny Wall plays Nate's surgeon, Doctor Ross.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Danny has been in a number of projects including Total Recall,
- 6:39Speaker 2: The Shape of Water, and Snow Piercer.
- 6:41Speaker 3: We briefly meet Lisa Gay Hamilton as Walter's dating app Match.
- 6:45Speaker 3: She has eighty three acting credits and viewers will likely
- 6:48Speaker 3: recognize her from the practice. More recently, she's been in
- 6:51Speaker 3: The Gilded Age and The Lincoln Lawyer.
- 6:53Speaker 2: Brendan Wall plays Chris's dad, Rhys Aldridge. Brendan has forty
- 6:58Speaker 2: one acting credits, which includes episodes of Murdoch Mysteries and
- 7:03Speaker 2: the series Air Crash Investigation, as well as the series Suits.
- 7:08Speaker 2: We are going to take a quick break and come
- 7:09Speaker 2: right back with our first impressions. Hey, Wendy, what is
- 7:20Speaker 2: your first impression of Ripple episode for the Storm?
- 7:25Speaker 3: Well, this show gives us enough air to breathe, like
- 7:31Speaker 3: I exhaled at the end of the episode. But I
- 7:35Speaker 3: think maybe the hardest part hasn't happened yet.
- 7:38Speaker 1: That is my biggest fear as well.
- 7:40Speaker 3: White share first impression.
- 7:43Speaker 2: My first impression is, while staying true to form, they
- 7:48Speaker 2: tweak their format ever so slightly.
- 7:51Speaker 3: Oh, tell me more what you noticed?
- 7:53Speaker 2: So in the first few episodes, we see a physical
- 7:58Speaker 2: object that we're following through. Yeah, this episode is a
- 8:03Speaker 2: little bit different. I guess episode two with the water
- 8:05Speaker 2: main break isn't quite that way, huh. I was envisioning
- 8:09Speaker 2: like the pebble, the dollar. In this case, it's just
- 8:11Speaker 2: the storm that connects all of them.
- 8:13Speaker 1: Yeah, and after episode three, I was thinking, how are
- 8:16Speaker 1: we gonna do this?
- 8:16Speaker 2: How are we gonna have like a single item that
- 8:17Speaker 2: connects It's not that, though, It's just like there is
- 8:20Speaker 2: a connective tissue, and in this case it's the storm.
- 8:24Speaker 2: And it's interesting that it's able to connect them in
- 8:27Speaker 2: a wider arena, like it's connecting them across continents in
- 8:30Speaker 2: a way.
- 8:30Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a great way to describe it, connective tissue.
- 8:34Speaker 1: I liked a lot about this episode.
- 8:35Speaker 3: What did you like? I like each episode, like I
- 8:38Speaker 3: don't ever come away and go like, eh, that was
- 8:40Speaker 3: a dumb one. Yeah. Never, I'm never gonna say that.
- 8:43Speaker 3: Are some heavier than others. Yes, what I liked about
- 8:47Speaker 3: this episode and it's it's basically the format that this
- 8:52Speaker 3: show is built on is like this particular one is
- 8:55Speaker 3: about like misconnections, and nearly every storyline is built around
- 9:01Speaker 3: like almost like we have, Chris almost makes it to
- 9:04Speaker 3: her dad in time, Nate almost gets the support that
- 9:07Speaker 3: he wants. Aria almost says what she's feeling, you know,
- 9:11Speaker 3: Walter almost like so to me, I like, I get
- 9:16Speaker 3: is this a metaphor? Is that what it's called? Like, yeah,
- 9:19Speaker 3: these things that are happening, I like that a lot.
- 9:22Speaker 3: The storm here, I think, is the connective tissue. Like
- 9:26Speaker 3: you said, obviously, the episode is called the storm, but
- 9:29Speaker 3: it's not just about weather, you know, It's it's the
- 9:32Speaker 3: thing that's interrupting, like the conversations that need to be have,
- 9:36Speaker 3: or there's timing problems or whatever. I like the themes
- 9:41Speaker 3: that this show puts out. I fully agree with you.
- 9:44Speaker 2: I was just looking for the titles of the episodes
- 9:47Speaker 2: because it seems like the title gives away what our
- 9:50Speaker 2: connective issue is. Episode one of Stones. Throughout episode two,
- 9:53Speaker 2: Drip Drip, Drip, the twenty the storm, it's.
- 9:57Speaker 1: Called the Flyer.
- 10:00Speaker 3: I don't know what that means, but no.
- 10:02Speaker 2: I like the idea of all these missed connections. One
- 10:05Speaker 2: thing I like is our world expands in this episode
- 10:09Speaker 2: in a couple of different ways. One Nate intentionally and
- 10:13Speaker 2: accidentally lets a lot more people in on what's going
- 10:16Speaker 2: on with him, which is mainly good, and I'm glad
- 10:21Speaker 2: that it's just coming out because I understand Nate's perspective,
- 10:25Speaker 2: like he doesn't want it seems like Nate doesn't want
- 10:27Speaker 2: to be at burden, but it also seems like he
- 10:30Speaker 2: doesn't really want to live in this world where he's sick,
- 10:34Speaker 2: and so if people don't know, he doesn't have to
- 10:37Speaker 2: be that person.
- 10:39Speaker 1: But it is easier.
- 10:40Speaker 2: It's easier on the viewer, and it is easier in
- 10:42Speaker 2: his life if people know and they're able to show
- 10:45Speaker 2: up for him and he doesn't have to do all
- 10:47Speaker 2: this dancing to explain his absences and to request help
- 10:50Speaker 2: where he needs it. And to me, it feels like
- 10:53Speaker 2: an exhale, like you said, when people know, Okay, that's
- 10:56Speaker 2: out there. Now we can just go on with it.
- 10:59Speaker 2: In addition, Walter's world expands the up top. I said,
- 11:03Speaker 2: I'm so worried about Walter because things are going in
- 11:06Speaker 2: the right direction. He has that dream about Brenda, which
- 11:12Speaker 2: is really well done, because to me, I thought it
- 11:13Speaker 2: was like a memory, and then you know, we see
- 11:16Speaker 2: kind of where we realize it's a dream and she's saying,
- 11:18Speaker 2: use the whole bed, live your life. And he shows
- 11:24Speaker 2: up back at his pickup basketball game and his friends
- 11:27Speaker 2: are also happy to see him, and why didn't you
- 11:30Speaker 2: tell us? We would have been there for you, And
- 11:31Speaker 2: then they are there for him, and I just am like,
- 11:35Speaker 2: so proud of Walter for taking this step and showing
- 11:38Speaker 2: up at that game doing what he needs to do
- 11:42Speaker 2: to move forward.
- 11:43Speaker 1: In his life.
- 11:44Speaker 2: And then his friends show up, and then he has
- 11:46Speaker 2: this nice moment at the bar with his friends and
- 11:50Speaker 2: Ellis and Rebecca and Tara and Sylvie and his world
- 11:54Speaker 2: is growing and expanding, and then I think he's doing
- 11:57Speaker 2: all of this work to move forward and his he
- 12:01Speaker 2: kind of accidentally launches his dating app and we see
- 12:04Speaker 2: glimpses of a woman who was like, Okay, Walter, what.
- 12:06Speaker 1: You got going on there?
- 12:08Speaker 2: It worries me because in a show where so many
- 12:11Speaker 2: things are going wrong, when his life is moving forward,
- 12:15Speaker 2: I'm scared.
- 12:17Speaker 3: Yeah, I hear that. I have a question for you.
- 12:20Speaker 3: Do you think it's too soon or maybe not appropriate
- 12:25Speaker 3: for the people in his life to be like, bro,
- 12:28Speaker 3: you need to get it. They're not saying that, but
- 12:30Speaker 3: you need to get out there and like start dating again,
- 12:33Speaker 3: I just lost his wife.
- 12:35Speaker 2: I do if that were something he wants, fine, but
- 12:39Speaker 2: I do think it's too soon for people to start
- 12:41Speaker 2: pushing for it.
- 12:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 12:43Speaker 2: I think it's right for them to encourage him to
- 12:45Speaker 2: be out in the world, reconnect with your friends, moving
- 12:49Speaker 2: your use the whole bed. All of that feels right
- 12:52Speaker 2: and appropriate. But it has not been long enough for
- 12:55Speaker 2: them to be like, you got to get yourself on
- 12:57Speaker 2: a dating app?
- 12:57Speaker 3: Man. Yeah, yeah, I think so too. I have I
- 13:01Speaker 3: have a wish, So we'll circle back to the wishes,
- 13:05Speaker 3: but we'll circle back to this conversation and my wishes. Yeah.
- 13:09Speaker 3: I love Walter's watching his arc.
- 13:13Speaker 1: Like you said, I don't know.
- 13:14Speaker 3: I'm just so I'm so afraid of what will happen.
- 13:19Speaker 3: I'm not worried about any other character as much as
- 13:22Speaker 3: I am about Walter.
- 13:24Speaker 2: No same, even though there's some quietly devastating things coming
- 13:28Speaker 2: for many of them.
- 13:30Speaker 3: Exactly exactly. Back to Nate for a second. I am
- 13:34Speaker 3: really happy that he has finally like let people in.
- 13:39Speaker 3: I can tell you from personal experience, it's hard to
- 13:43Speaker 3: you feel like you need to like manage somebody's reaction. Yeah,
- 13:48Speaker 3: to news of I have cancer and so I can
- 13:51Speaker 3: see how he was, like maybe reluctant to tell people.
- 13:56Speaker 3: I think he's been trying to manage Claire's reaction to it.
- 13:59Speaker 3: That can be a lot. I was happy that he
- 14:02Speaker 3: did allow Claire to be the one to be there
- 14:06Speaker 3: for him for surgery. To me, my takeaway was like,
- 14:10Speaker 3: he realizes that he can't do it alone. I don't
- 14:12Speaker 3: know if that's fair to Claire, because if Chris was around,
- 14:18Speaker 3: I think Chris would have been there and Claire would
- 14:20Speaker 3: have not, So part of that feels icky to me,
- 14:25Speaker 3: But I mean, what are you gonna do?
- 14:28Speaker 2: The clar scenes were really I had a lot of
- 14:31Speaker 2: feelings about the clar scenes because she really steps up
- 14:33Speaker 2: in this episode and he lets her, which is nice,
- 14:36Speaker 2: and because I can't trust anything, part of me is thinking,
- 14:42Speaker 2: is he just making peace with the fact that these
- 14:45Speaker 2: are two people who are going to be in each
- 14:46Speaker 2: other's lives forever and it makes good sense for them
- 14:50Speaker 2: to be on good terms as co parents and as humans,
- 14:55Speaker 2: or is he in the vein of I need help.
- 14:59Speaker 2: The person and I thought was going to help me
- 15:01Speaker 2: has somewhat ghosted me. So I'm gotta be nice to
- 15:05Speaker 2: the one person who's willing to show up.
- 15:07Speaker 3: But I don't like I don't like that.
- 15:09Speaker 1: No, I don't either. I don't neither.
- 15:11Speaker 2: And again I don't have any idea what his motivation
- 15:14Speaker 2: is there, but it does seem like Chris's absence kind
- 15:18Speaker 2: of drove him back into needing Claire, and Claire's wonderful
- 15:23Speaker 2: she steps in to help him explain to their daughter.
- 15:25Speaker 1: What's going on.
- 15:27Speaker 3: Oh yeah, that was a great scene.
- 15:28Speaker 2: She shows up for him at the hospital, She's the
- 15:30Speaker 2: one who receives the news from the doctor. They have
- 15:33Speaker 2: a really nice scene after he comes out of surgery.
- 15:37Speaker 2: And so in the last episode, I was saying how
- 15:40Speaker 2: I felt for Claire because he wasn't being very nice
- 15:42Speaker 2: to her, And in this episode, I feel for her
- 15:44Speaker 2: because she's taking on so much of the emotional weight.
- 15:48Speaker 1: Of this experience.
- 15:50Speaker 2: And I'm worried for what happens when Chris returns and
- 15:53Speaker 2: Nate has his person again and doesn't need Claire as much.
- 15:59Speaker 2: Is he going to allow her to be as present?
- 16:03Speaker 3: Yeah? I don't know. I don't know. Let's talk about
- 16:05Speaker 3: Chris and her dad's storyline.
- 16:07Speaker 2: Mm hmm.
- 16:09Speaker 3: We never really get like a full understanding. Did she
- 16:13Speaker 3: get an emergency phone call while she was at the
- 16:15Speaker 3: hospital and then left right away. Is that what had happened?
- 16:18Speaker 1: That's what it seems like.
- 16:19Speaker 3: Yes, okay. I liked all these flashback scenes of her
- 16:23Speaker 3: younger self and her you know, showing us like she
- 16:27Speaker 3: had a really good relationship with her dad and it
- 16:30Speaker 3: kind of went sideways over some dude who was controlling.
- 16:34Speaker 3: But from the parent perspective, I like fully sided with
- 16:39Speaker 3: the dad because he wanted so much more for her
- 16:42Speaker 3: and knew that she wanted so much more for herself,
- 16:45Speaker 3: and he was like, what are you doing with this dude?
- 16:48Speaker 3: That was interesting to watch unfold, and that scene is
- 16:52Speaker 3: heartbreaking when she's on the stoop or whatever talking through
- 16:56Speaker 3: the intercom and you think like he is just being
- 16:59Speaker 3: non right responsive, and we see him like going close
- 17:03Speaker 3: the blinding is like that's better, and I was like,
- 17:05Speaker 3: oh my god, he's just shutting her out, Like how
- 17:08Speaker 3: awful is that? And then you see the note about
- 17:11Speaker 3: it being the intercom being broken, like one little thing
- 17:15Speaker 3: completely changed their relationship.
- 17:18Speaker 2: I really am glad that she was able to have
- 17:21Speaker 2: the realization of what happened. At the end of the episode,
- 17:23Speaker 2: when the delivery guys like, well, that intercom has been
- 17:25Speaker 2: broken for years and you can see the wheels turning.
- 17:28Speaker 2: But how frustrating as a person to be like, we
- 17:32Speaker 2: missed so much? Yeah, because of this one, this intercom,
- 17:39Speaker 2: she was trying to make amends with him. He clearly
- 17:42Speaker 2: would have accepted that from her, and then they both
- 17:46Speaker 2: stubbornly didn't reach.
- 17:47Speaker 1: Out after that.
- 17:49Speaker 3: Yeah, it's kind of heartbreaking, to be honest, And we
- 17:52Speaker 3: see her throw her phone away. So did he even
- 17:54Speaker 3: have a way to contact her after that? I don't know,
- 17:56Speaker 3: And that's a good question. That's a good question. I
- 17:59Speaker 3: did like that full circle moment, though, I thought, like,
- 18:02Speaker 3: how easy that was that she got there going, oh,
- 18:05Speaker 3: the intercom's broken. Let me think about this, this one
- 18:09Speaker 3: moment ten years ago or whatever it is, where I
- 18:12Speaker 3: stood out here and tried to like reach my dad.
- 18:15Speaker 2: Yeah, but how important of a moment, you know some things.
- 18:20Speaker 2: I think you probably would remember that forever, the moment
- 18:22Speaker 2: where he in her mind officially turned away from her.
- 18:25Speaker 3: I guess, but I don't know if I would have
- 18:28Speaker 3: put two and two together no so quickly myself. Yeah,
- 18:32Speaker 3: My one last like is more of a question for you,
- 18:38Speaker 3: is Tara not really into Sylvie.
- 18:40Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, that's very interesting. So here's how I
- 18:45Speaker 2: read the situation. I don't know. I think having her
- 18:49Speaker 2: in her space overwhelmed her. I think she likes her
- 18:53Speaker 2: new relationship. She seems happy in her new relationship, but
- 18:56Speaker 2: the reality of the new relationship where it's not just
- 19:00Speaker 2: all sunshine and dating and making out, you know, her
- 19:04Speaker 2: partner snoring in her physical space, was too much for her.
- 19:08Speaker 1: That's my take, got it.
- 19:11Speaker 3: I can accept that. I can accept that. It's like
- 19:14Speaker 3: there's a Hallmark show called We Just Talked About It
- 19:17Speaker 3: Twelve Dates Still Christmas. There is a similar storyline in there,
- 19:20Speaker 3: where there's a character Evelyn, who is starting to date
- 19:24Speaker 3: again after losing her husband, right, and she is struggling
- 19:29Speaker 3: with feelings of like I haven't had to worry about
- 19:32Speaker 3: somebody for ten years. Like I wonder if it's kind
- 19:35Speaker 3: of the same thread here of like, you know, Tara
- 19:38Speaker 3: hasn't been with her wife because her wife has passed,
- 19:42Speaker 3: and maybe she's not quite ready. But I think it's
- 19:46Speaker 3: more along the lines of you said, like she's just
- 19:48Speaker 3: not ready, like in her space yet.
- 19:51Speaker 2: Yeah, we know that Sylvie's in a couple more episodes
- 19:55Speaker 2: for me. I wasn't so much reading it as she
- 19:58Speaker 2: wasn't ready for the feelings, as they just it was
- 20:02Speaker 2: too much, too soon, And maybe she was like, oh,
- 20:05Speaker 2: I don't like her this much.
- 20:07Speaker 1: You know, God's sad. It is sad, you know.
- 20:11Speaker 2: I hope it's more, Oh wow, I'm not ready for
- 20:15Speaker 2: someone else to be in this bed. You know they
- 20:17Speaker 2: talk about sleeping on your own side of the bed. Yeah,
- 20:20Speaker 2: and now all of a sudden you have someone else there.
- 20:22Speaker 2: I hope it's more that and not like WHOA, All right, yeah?
- 20:27Speaker 3: Are you ready to move on to wishes? Well?
- 20:30Speaker 2: I want to ask you about the final airport scene.
- 20:32Speaker 2: Does that appear anywhere for you?
- 20:35Speaker 3: No?
- 20:36Speaker 1: With Chris and Nate?
- 20:38Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I mean I have some questions here. Yeah,
- 20:46Speaker 3: he is supposed to sit and I had to rewind
- 20:49Speaker 3: it because I was like, what are the seat numbers?
- 20:51Speaker 3: He's supposed to be in her row and then he's not,
- 20:54Speaker 3: So what happens?
- 20:56Speaker 1: I don't know, that's my question. I don't know.
- 21:01Speaker 2: And I rewound it too because I noted the seat
- 21:03Speaker 2: numbers the first time, but then I thought, oh, did
- 21:06Speaker 2: they not have the same flights? But he does have
- 21:08Speaker 2: a ticket to New York. They are clearly on the
- 21:10Speaker 2: same flight, so I don't know what's happening there.
- 21:15Speaker 3: Miss. I loved the idea of like, these two have
- 21:20Speaker 3: come in contact before, you know, just by a way
- 21:25Speaker 3: of proximity, not even like interacting. It's kind of interesting.
- 21:30Speaker 3: What's that say about? Like the universe? These two are
- 21:32Speaker 3: supposed to be together, They were supposed to meet together
- 21:35Speaker 3: a long time ago, and that didn't happen. So what happened?
- 21:38Speaker 3: You know? I'm interested in this thread?
- 21:44Speaker 1: Me too? All right, let's talk wishes.
- 21:46Speaker 3: I thought Aria's breakdown needed I needed more context here.
- 21:52Speaker 3: I'm only assuming what happened. I'm assuming she got her
- 21:57Speaker 3: period and that's why she's upset.
- 22:00Speaker 2: Yes, but the line I knew I should have taken
- 22:03Speaker 2: a test throws me Exactly.
- 22:06Speaker 1: Does that mean?
- 22:07Speaker 2: If she had taken the test, she would have known
- 22:09Speaker 2: she wasn't pregnant, and then she wouldn't have been carrying
- 22:12Speaker 2: this hope.
- 22:12Speaker 1: For so long?
- 22:13Speaker 3: Potentially? I agree, I need more context. Yeah, her story
- 22:18Speaker 3: is still the biggest unknown. We haven't circled back at
- 22:22Speaker 3: all to the photo and the tattoo and her dad.
- 22:26Speaker 3: I know we're on episode four. I can't remember when
- 22:29Speaker 3: all that happened. Maybe episode two. I'm assuming we're gonna
- 22:34Speaker 3: get there, but I feel like they don't show her
- 22:37Speaker 3: a ton. It's been mostly about Nate. Yes.
- 22:44Speaker 2: Aria remains a very big question mark for me, and
- 22:47Speaker 2: my other wish revolves around John. I can't really figure
- 22:50Speaker 2: out what's going on with him and where he is
- 22:55Speaker 2: in his head in his relationships. We know he ended
- 22:59Speaker 2: things with Desi, but but I'm curious what the motivation
- 23:01Speaker 2: was there. You know, did he just realize like, oh God,
- 23:05Speaker 2: I'm doing something wrong.
- 23:06Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 23:07Speaker 2: There was a scene when he comes home from work
- 23:09Speaker 2: and the apartment is dark and he's like, yes, Aria,
- 23:13Speaker 2: and I was like, oh gosh, like what happened? Like
- 23:15Speaker 2: she's no law And then she's like hey babe, and
- 23:16Speaker 2: she's fine, and I thought, Oh, they're hinting it something
- 23:19Speaker 2: darker happening here. But there's so many unknowns that that's
- 23:23Speaker 2: my biggest wish about the series right now, is some
- 23:26Speaker 2: clarity there.
- 23:26Speaker 3: Yeah. I'm sure we'll get it eventually. Yeah, Like parts
- 23:29Speaker 3: of me are like I need to know everything now.
- 23:32Speaker 3: Hm hmm, Yeah, I have no chill. Another one of
- 23:34Speaker 3: my wishes is and this is what I said we
- 23:37Speaker 3: would circle back. What is the timeframe we're working with here?
- 23:39Speaker 3: Has it been months? Has it been weeks? Is this
- 23:42Speaker 3: a few days between these things? Because how long has
- 23:45Speaker 3: it been since Walter's wife died? And now we're like
- 23:48Speaker 3: pushing him.
- 23:48Speaker 2: To date, Like what, Yeah, that's a great question because
- 23:53Speaker 2: it seems like from episode three and four it's back
- 23:55Speaker 2: to back days.
- 23:57Speaker 3: It seems like it.
- 23:58Speaker 1: Yeah, because Chris left the hospital went to.
- 24:02Speaker 3: The airport right exactly, but exactly, But.
- 24:05Speaker 2: The cancer treatment timeline doesn't line up for me, like
- 24:08Speaker 2: you had one chemo infusion and now you're having surgery,
- 24:10Speaker 2: like you would have more because he had said we're
- 24:13Speaker 2: going to do chemo to shrink the tumor drink Yep,
- 24:16Speaker 2: it would be more than one chemo infusion for that.
- 24:19Speaker 3: Yep.
- 24:20Speaker 2: So ye, that time right, It is weird to me
- 24:23Speaker 2: as well.
- 24:24Speaker 3: And like the Tara and Sylvie like wow, we've just
- 24:28Speaker 3: jumped right in, like you guys just had a date.
- 24:30Speaker 2: Yeah, and now you're like babe and like relationship ye.
- 24:36Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah yeah yeah. And my final wish is the
- 24:42Speaker 3: missing ring kind of just dropped like yeah, we know
- 24:46Speaker 3: nothing about that. I'm sure it's going to resurface, like
- 24:50Speaker 3: at some point Aria is going to see the ring
- 24:51Speaker 3: on Claire or something is going to happen. The financial
- 24:56Speaker 3: woes between Nate and Claire like not addressed again.
- 25:00Speaker 1: No, there's many loose threads.
- 25:02Speaker 3: Yeah, and then and also Nate's mom, you know, she
- 25:05Speaker 3: just in and out nothing else. So I'm sure these
- 25:09Speaker 3: things will pick back up, but just not in this
- 25:12Speaker 3: particular episode. Mm hmm.
- 25:13Speaker 1: Are you ready to talk? Did you see that?
- 25:15Speaker 3: I am?
- 25:16Speaker 1: I just have a couple like.
- 25:18Speaker 2: Oh, nice little callbacks throughout the episode. Uh, the woman
- 25:21Speaker 2: Chris meets in line at the airport, Yeah, you know,
- 25:25Speaker 2: she meets a flight attendant on the fly and then
- 25:27Speaker 2: they're together in London. Just cute little moment. The exact
- 25:32Speaker 2: callback to Chris closing the blinds in her father's apartment
- 25:34Speaker 2: exactly the way he did the sun blinding her eyes.
- 25:38Speaker 2: Just some nice parallel moments.
- 25:40Speaker 3: My only did you see that? Are like when Walter
- 25:43Speaker 3: decides to use the whole bed. You know it's it's
- 25:48Speaker 3: this is storytelling down right for me. Yeah, there's no light,
- 25:52Speaker 3: he doesn't have to stay out loud. I'm gonna move
- 25:54Speaker 3: to the middle of the bed, like you know, he
- 25:57Speaker 3: just does it. We're watching, we see him a lot
- 25:59Speaker 3: in this episode, like struggling with sleep. So I thought
- 26:04Speaker 3: that was really good. Last week I asked you if
- 26:09Speaker 3: you had noticed Walter's apartment.
- 26:12Speaker 2: Yes, I did take special note of his gallery wall
- 26:15Speaker 2: today in contrast to his dating profile.
- 26:18Speaker 1: I loved it.
- 26:20Speaker 3: I think I noticed in this episode that the bar
- 26:22Speaker 3: is really cool too. It's not like some divy bar,
- 26:25Speaker 3: like this looks like a place like people would want
- 26:28Speaker 3: to be and hang out. Like. It's very the tone
- 26:32Speaker 3: of it, like in terms of like color that they used,
- 26:35Speaker 3: it's very comforting. I whoever was like the set designers here,
- 26:42Speaker 3: I really good job.
- 26:44Speaker 1: Yeah, it's gorgeous.
- 26:45Speaker 3: Really good job. And then my last did you see
- 26:48Speaker 3: that is like the whole rainbow at the end. Yeah.
- 26:52Speaker 3: In my mind, rainbows are like a symbol of like
- 26:56Speaker 3: good and hope and whatever. And you know, the story
- 27:00Speaker 3: has cleared, but nothing has been fixed here. No, no,
- 27:05Speaker 3: it's still like all bad. It's not all bad. I
- 27:09Speaker 3: take that back, it's not all bad. Like there's good
- 27:12Speaker 3: things happening for Walter, but like you know, the storm
- 27:15Speaker 3: has cleared, but there's a lot of unresolved issues happening.
- 27:18Speaker 2: Yeah, those still real cloudy in terms of some of
- 27:21Speaker 2: these stories.
- 27:22Speaker 1: Here forecast is still real cloudy.
- 27:24Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly. Yeah.
- 27:26Speaker 2: One little minor thing I thought Walter's continued reliance on
- 27:31Speaker 2: an edible arrangement as something to do when someone's going
- 27:33Speaker 2: through a hard time was funny. I love an edible arrangement, FYI,
- 27:38Speaker 2: and I love I do too. Someone brought me one
- 27:41Speaker 2: after I had a baby. It was delicious. I also
- 27:44Speaker 2: I love Walter's circle of friends. I love that he
- 27:47Speaker 2: Ellis and Rebecca are part of his circle of friends,
- 27:49Speaker 2: as well as, of course Tara. I love how much
- 27:51Speaker 2: Ellis loves Walter and how she's leaning on him.
- 27:54Speaker 1: Look, I love Walter. What can I say?
- 27:56Speaker 3: Yep? Exactly.
- 27:58Speaker 2: Well, Hey, thank you for listening to this episode of
