- 0:12Hello, True Crime and Wine Time friends. I am beyond excited to tell
- 0:16you about our sponsor this week. And no it's not just because they're our
- 0:21sponsor, it's because their wines are amazing Usual Wines. These wines are low
- 0:30carb and have zero grams of sugar. Usual Wines are wines for the modern
- 0:37drinker who loves wine made with minimal intervention. Each bottle is six point three
- 0:43ounces, which is either a heavy pore or about a glass and a half.
- 0:48For me, it's just my size. I love that my rose is
- 0:53never stale, always fresh, and the single serve bottle design is not just
- 0:59functional, but in my opinion, adorable. I no longer have to worry
- 1:04about opening a bottle and feeling like I have to drink all of it that
- 1:08night or more than I want to, just so don't have to pour wine
- 1:12down the sink the next day, which we all know is a horrible thing.
- 1:19The single serve is perfect and also allows me to have a glass of
- 1:23the Brute and then try aglass of the Brute Rose with zero wine waste that
- 1:30night. Usual has a red blend a Rose and a sparkling white wine called
- 1:37Brute, and they have a limited production Brute Rose just for the summer,
- 1:44and I have to say it is my new favorite. Usual Wines are made
- 1:48from the world class American vinicultural area in California like Napa, Sonoma and Santa
- 1:56Barbara. Do you want to know it's even better? They deliver right to
- 2:01your door. Go visit their website at www dot Usualwines dot com. That's

- 2:46I want to say thank you for joining me today. I hope that
- 2:50you are all doing well staying safe during these times. I know that I
- 2:54am personally looking forward to the stay at home order being lifted and getting back
- 3:00to some sort of type of normal life. Today will be part one of
- 3:06two, a story about Jill, the Cereal bride, bigamoust, con artist
- 3:14and murderer. I hope you're ready for a story that gives new meaning to
- 3:19cereal bride and to Bunny boiler crazy. For today's episode, I am enjoying
- 3:25a red blend from Usual Wines. This red blend is a bright, satisfying
- 3:31sip of bean cherries, dark chocolate, and fresh violets. This wine is
- 3:38expertly made in small batches from sustainably farmed grapes with no additives in minimal intervention
- 3:45the real way. I am so excited to try this red blend. The
- 3:50rose and the bruit are two of my new go to favorites, so I'm
- 3:54hoping to add this one to my list. So let's get this opened and
- 4:00poured. It's one of those nice easy openers, as I call them.
- 4:06There we go. Ooh, what smells very chocolate. Ooh, I might
- 4:21just need to sniff this one instead of drink it. It smells heavenly.
- 4:26Let's give a little quick sip here. Ooh, very smooth and good.
- 4:36Oh, really good texture. Okay, I can definitely taste chocolate in there.
- 4:47Oh my goodness, that is yummy. Okay, I guess I need
- 4:51to get to the case and not sit here and just drink this yummy glass
- 4:56of wine. So let's get to it. Before get started, I need
- 5:00to let you know this episode contains graphic content adult language. It may not
- 5:06be suitable for all listeners. On July one, nineteen forty four, Henry
- 5:12Albert Billiot married Juanita Engelman in New Orleans, Louisiana. They had two children,
- 5:18Jill and Mark Billiot. Henry and Juanita were your typical loving couple who
- 5:24worked hard to give their children a good life. Little did they know that
- 5:30their lives would forever be changed when they had their daughter, Jill. Jill
- 5:33was born in June of nineteen forty four. Jill was known to lie about
- 5:39her age, and there is speculation that she was born sometime between nineteen forty
- 5:45three and nineteen fifty. However, guys, you know I like to dig
- 5:49into those things. Based on her conviction records, I'm going to assume those
- 5:54are the most accurate. Her birthdate is listed as June eleventh, nineteen forty
- 5:59four. Jill had a normal childhood growing up around the Bayous in Louisiana.
- 6:05I don't know I live here in Texas, However, I've spent time in
- 6:10Louisiana. Family members and kind of where our family comes from. Bayous can
- 6:15be fun, also can be a little dark and scary, but a fun
- 6:18place to grow up. Jill was a pretty girl and was very popular at
- 6:24school. At the age of fifteen, Jill was sent to live with her
- 6:28grandparents in Indiana, Guys. I tried not to laugh at this part.
- 6:33It has said that Jill was sent there due to boy trouble, which we
- 6:39can only assume means she was being a little promiscuous. I mean, she
- 6:43was popular, she was beautiful. Maybe she was a little ahead of her
- 6:47age group and getting into some trouble. However, her parents thought sending their
- 6:53daughter to live in Indiana. It was a smaller city and had many farms.
- 6:59It was a much slower life than New Orleans for a teenage girl.
- 7:02Now I'm going to share a little thing about New Orleans. Since my mom's
- 7:08deceased. She probably is cracking up up in heaven as I say this,
- 7:12because I think I shocked her. My dad was working in New Orleans.
- 7:16He was in the oil and gas business, and I was there staying for
- 7:21a couple weeks during the summer, and one of his counterparts at work had
- 7:27a daughter. Shannon was about the same age we were on Bourbon Street.
- 7:30The apartment was overlooking the street, and I totally remember telling my mom,
- 7:34Mom, when I grow up, I want to be one of those girls
- 7:39down there that have on all of those sparkly clothes and the feathers and the
- 7:44makeup and their hair's all done. Yeah, guys, I had no idea
- 7:49what those ladies were, but I thought they were pretty and they looked cool.
- 7:53So I can only imagine Indiana farm towns much slower than New Orleans.
- 8:00Thing I didn't live in New Orleans, or my mom probably would have shipped
- 8:03me off to a convent, so, oh my goodness. Jill once told
- 8:07reporters that she became sexually active in her early teen years and that she loved
- 8:13the attention of the boys. Upon getting settled into high school in North Manchester,
- 8:20Indiana, Jill set out to make new friends and almost overnight became popular
- 8:26with the boys, who were said to have loved her southern draw. Okay,
- 8:31guys, I guess maybe moving from New Orleans to Indiana got a pretty
- 8:33girl A had that Southern draw. What can I say? She They liked
- 8:39her there too. It sounds like at the age of seventeen, Jill dropped
- 8:41out of high school and eloped with Larry Eugene Ainen, who was nineteen.
- 8:48He would become the first of many husbands for the well known, pretty and
- 8:54popular Jill told a reporter, I mean many many years later, that she
- 9:03wore street clothes and not a white wedding dress because white was for virgins and
- 9:09she wasn't one. Wow, talk about being a little bit open about Yeah,
- 9:16you know, I just wore street clothes because I wasn't a virgin,
- 9:18so I shouldn't wear white. I mean, didn't have to broadcast it.
- 9:22Oh well. Larry continued his job as a bricklayer and Jill found a job
- 9:28working at the local bindary. As many of us know, with many young
- 9:33marriages, they don't last long, and it just didn't work out. Jill
- 9:37filed for divorce in March of nineteen sixty two, along with the restraining order,
- 9:43alleging inhumane treatment. She said that Larry treated her very inhumanely. Larry's
- 9:52side of the story is that Joel cleaned out their joint bank account took all
- 9:56of his hard earned money. He probably made more. Larry also told the
- 10:01courts that it was he who had suffered inhumane treatment, but he agreed he
- 10:07and Jill could no longer live together as husband and wife. Guys, their
- 10:11divorce was granted just a few weeks. Shy of what would have been their
- 10:15one year anniversary, I gave it a goog. I couldn't really find out
- 10:20what inhumane treatment, you know, was referred to. I found so many
- 10:26different things. It was just too too wide open for interpretation. So basically
- 10:31they didn't last a year. They got divorced. After the divorce, and
- 10:33at age eighteen, Jill moved back to Louisiana with her parents and guys.
- 10:39She finished her high school education and got her diploma, So that that's a
- 10:45good thing, you know, getting her feet back on the ground. Wasn't
- 10:48gonna let it distract her, or so she thought. After Jill got her
- 10:54high school diploma, she enrolled at Northwestern State University of Louisiana and Natcha.
- 11:00In there she met husband number two, Stephen Moore. Stephen was a fellow
- 11:07student at Northwestern State University and was said to be one of Jill's most persistent
- 11:13suitors. Persistence paid off. Jill was popular once again with the guys on
- 11:18campus, just as she had been in high school. And also Jill was
- 11:22known for being dressed to the nines and knew how to get and keep a
- 11:28man's attention. A lot of the articles I read said that she practiced this.
- 11:33I mean, she made eye contact with them, knew how to hold
- 11:35that linger just a little bit longer used her womanly ways. I guess is
- 11:41the easier way to say that. On May fifth, nineteen sixty four,
- 11:46Stephen and Jiel married in a civil ceremony in Mississippi. On May fifth,
- 11:50nineteen sixty four, Stephen and Jewel married in a civil ceremony in Mississippi,
- 11:54with a full religious ceremony following in October in Louisiana. A few weeks after
- 12:01getting married, Jill realized she was pregnant, and on March twenty eighth,
- 12:07nineteen sixty five, Jill and Stephen welcome their son, Stephen Seth Moore,
- 12:13into the world. Sadly, at the time that Stephen was born, Jill
- 12:20and Stephen were already separated. Their marriage was irrepairable. Jill took right back
- 12:26up where she left off and was enjoying life again. I mean here she
- 12:31had a young son still in diapers. But Jill met the man who will
- 12:37become husband number three. Okay, guys, I don't know if you're keeping
- 12:41track, but I mean within a couple of years we're on. Husband number
- 12:46three gets a little crazy from here on out. William Clark Quoit Junior,
- 12:50who went by Clark, worked for Tenaco Oil and Gas and was in Louisiana
- 12:56overseeing a project when he met Jill. Clark had worked hard all day and
- 13:01stopped by Barns enjoying a cool drink when he laid eyes on Jill. Clark
- 13:07was single, in his mid thirties and had spent all of his time working
- 13:11his way up the corporate ladder. However, it is said one look at
- 13:16Jill and Clark was mesmerized by her beauty and he began to think maybe it
- 13:24was time to settle down. I mean, guys, she was magical somehow,
- 13:28I guess. And Jill thought Clark was perfect. He had an excellent
- 13:33job, made above average money, with lots of future earning potential. Clark
- 13:39loved Jill's beauty and her youth. Little did he know that she was also
- 13:43extremely ambitious, ruthless, and was already becoming well versed at spinning her web
- 13:52of wise deceat and being a con artist. Hey, True crime and Wine

- 15:54without the are Best Fiends. August twenty seventh, nineteen sixty five, Jill
- 16:02filed for divorce from Stephen Moore, husband number two. Clark and Jill were
- 16:06living together in Clark's apartment and were said to be totally head over hills in
- 16:11love. You know this first couple of months or hetty, Everything's perfect,
- 16:15like brand new pair of shoes. Right that Thanksgiving, Clark took Jill home
- 16:18to Cleveland so he could introduce and show her off to his family. Jill,
- 16:22being that master of luring people in it is said she made a great
- 16:27impression on the family. I found this very interesting. Clark's family was not
- 16:33aware that Jill had an infant son. Jill left her infant son back in
- 16:38New Orleans with the babysitter. Hello, that should have been a red flag
- 16:45for Clark. Or maybe Clark didn't want his family to know because he wanted
- 16:48him to fall in love with her before he found out she had a child.
- 16:52But me, I think that's a little odd. I mean, I
- 16:56can't help but wonder if that was Jill's idea, if she figured parents would
- 17:00not be thrilled to have their son dating a married woman who, yes,
- 17:04she was separated, still married, and had an eight month old child.
- 17:08Clark was very close with his brothers, his parents, and their families.
- 17:15In the new year, Clark and Jill celebrated their love by getting married on
- 17:19January twenty ninth, nineteen sixty six, making Clark officially husband number three guys.
- 17:27Clark's family was shocked and devastated to find out that they had gotten married.
- 17:33They were not invited, which was so a Mike Clark. He was
- 17:37known as that fun uncle. He hung out with the kids, went to
- 17:41see his parents, talked to his brothers on the phone. I mean,
- 17:44he was close with them. They were happy because Clark met somebody settled down.
- 17:51Wasn't always putting his job first. I mean, I'm a mom,
- 17:53I would I can see that You're like, you know what, I wish
- 17:56we could have been there, but so glad that you're happy. However,
- 17:59Clark and his family were all kept in the dark of the fact Jill was
- 18:03still legally married to Steven Moore, and in fact, their divorce was not
- 18:10finalized until March twenty third, nineteen sixty seven. Yes, friends, Jill
- 18:17was officially a big miss and was married to two men for fourteen months.
- 18:22I mean, trust me when I say this is tame. Jill's life gets
- 18:26a lot crazier and she will become a woman with so many secrets. I
- 18:33don't know how in the hell she kept them straight. I couldn't keep them
- 18:37straight just reading and researching. I literally had to get out my marker on
- 18:41my whiteboard and follow it because it's crazy. So Yes started her career as
- 18:47a big a mess. Now. Jill and Clark were happy in the beginning,
- 18:51and when they moved to Houston, they became close friends with another couple.
- 18:56BB McCurdy also worked for Tennaco and the we purchased a home near the
- 19:00McCurdy's. Babe's wife, Virginia, was a former Georgia Peach and got along
- 19:07great with Jill. They were both these Southern women, you know how it
- 19:11goes in southern bales. Yes, I'm getting a little twangy here. Like
- 19:14I said, they got along great. The couple lived in Sharpstown, which
- 19:18at the time was a very nice neighborhood with its own country club in Houston.
- 19:22I haven't been to the Sharpstown area in several years. Last I remembered
- 19:26it had started to take a turn being an older neighborhood. I'm still there's
- 19:30still some really nice pockets within Sharpstown, but back then it was up and
- 19:37coming country club, very nice place to be. This foursome spent many nights
- 19:41in weekends hanging out together. They had a lot of fun. They did
- 19:45barbecues, trips. It was just two young couples enjoying life. Jill and
- 19:53Clark were enjoying their life in Houston, and we're excited to welcome a baby
- 19:59boy on November eleventh, nineteen sixty six, whom they named William Andrew Quait.
- 20:07They called the New Bundle of Joy. Andrew since quite Stad went by
- 20:11William and Clark went by Clark to kind of keep things straight. Like I
- 20:17said, my brain gets a little confused with all these Williams. But like
- 20:21I said, a fact that just keeps blowing my mind is that Jill was
- 20:25still legally married to Stephen Moore when she had this baby. H It's crazy.
- 20:30This lady had some serious issues. Thankfully, we have the internet,
- 20:34we have computers nowadays. Thankfully. By the time Clark and Jill's next Sun
- 20:40was born on March first, nineteen sixty eight, Jill was divorced and only
- 20:45married to one man. See it's the little things that make me happy,
- 20:52you know. She was only married to one man when she had that second
- 20:55baby. This baby was named William Clark quite a third. Here we go
- 21:00with William again, and they decided to call the baby Billy or Bill to
- 21:07keep things simple because he couldn't go by Clark obviously. I mean, guys,
- 21:11I guess the family liked the name William, but they didn't want to
- 21:15have a lot of William's up functions. But I guess, I guess it
- 21:19makes sense. During the birth of Billy, a partial hysterectomy was performed on
- 21:23Jill friends, I'm telling you you may want to put a pen in that,
- 21:27as this topic will come up time and time again. The family was
- 21:33like most young families. They spent time grilling out, having friends over,
- 21:37and it has said they in truly enjoyed the family life. Jill, however,
- 21:42became bored and was a huge flirt that took her flirting a little bit
- 21:48far. Her behavior started causing huge issues for the couple and for their close
- 21:53friends, the McCarty's. In the year after Billy's birth, story started going
- 21:59around about Jill having affairs with several men, everything from pool boy, the
- 22:06kids, doctors, they're sports trainers. I mean. The rumors were that
- 22:11she was getting around's best way to say it. It was rumored that she
- 22:15slept with many people. The mccurty said they felt sorry for the couple.
- 22:21They were sorry for Clark if Jill was having these affairs, and they were
- 22:25sorry for Jill if it was all just rumors, because she was being slammed.
- 22:30Unfortunately, during a holiday party, Jill was upset and over shared with
- 22:37BB McCurdy that a guy she was seeing had the audacity to be cheating on
- 22:41her. I mean, come on, she thinks it's okay for her to
- 22:47cheat, but not for the guy to cheat on her. I mean she's
- 22:52married, hello. But needless to say, she threw a huge fit,
- 22:56so little one sided. Not long after this holiday party, Clark and Jill
- 23:02started the merry go round cycle of separating, getting back together, separating,
- 23:07getting back together. Clark loved her and he really wanted to keep his family
- 23:14together. Jill filed for divorce in October nineteen sixty nine, claiming that Clark
- 23:18was drunk. She wanted full custody of the boys, plus she wanted half
- 23:23of everything. Imagine that. A few weeks after Jill filed the divorce papers,
- 23:30her and Clark once again decided to get back together. Jill withdrew the
- 23:34divorce petition and moved back into the family home. I mean Jill thought about
- 23:40it. She was like, he's a good provider, he was generous with
- 23:42his money. He loved the boys. So and Clark had adopted Jill's first
- 23:48son, Steven Seth Moore. I tell you his full name because they legally
- 23:55changed his name. I don't know why, but to Jonathan Seth quite,
- 24:00I mean change his last name. But we had to change his whole name.
- 24:03What I also found interesting is that no one let his biological father know
- 24:10about this. And I researched Doug. I couldn't find anything about whether or
- 24:15not Steven was still involved with his son. Maybe he was totally out of
- 24:18the picture, and that's way he wasn't informed. After the reconciliation, Jill
- 24:23started her first of many legal battles that will follow through the rest of her
- 24:29life and still going on today. Jill was rear ended and filed a huge
- 24:34lawsuit against the driver and the company who employed the driver. The case never
- 24:41went to trial and was settled for an undisclosed amount. Clark and Jel's marriage
- 24:47was not getting any better, and in September of nineteen seventy one, Clark
- 24:52arrived home to find the boys home alone with the housekeeper. Jill had packed
- 24:56up, went home to New Orleans and resumed her single lifestyle. Okay,
- 25:03Jill, you're not getting any mother of the Year points here, Okay,
- 25:07just not okay, guys, this wine is really good. I can really
- 25:11taste the bean cherries now, Okay, I may need to like stop recording
- 25:17and go drink some more of a it's so good. Jill left her boys
- 25:19back in Houston for five months and only visited them a few times. Then,
- 25:26out of the blue, on February twenty second, nineteen seventy two,
- 25:30Clark returned home from work to find that much of the furniture had been removed
- 25:34and his youngest son, Billy, was left behind and was crying. Guys,
- 25:41why did she leave the little kid? I don't know. A few
- 25:44days later, Jill returned, cleaned out the rest of the furniture, and
- 25:48took Billy with her. On March first, nineteen seventy two, Clark filed
- 25:52for divorce in Harris County, accusing his wife of abandoning her husband, home,
- 25:59family, and he asked for primary custody of the children. Yeah,
- 26:03I mean he took care of him for five months while she was off running
- 26:07around. Wednesday, March twenty ninth, nineteen seventy two, Clark failed to
- 26:11show up for work and a little after eight am, BB McCurdy called his
- 26:15wife, Virginia and said, Hey, go over to Clark's house check on
- 26:21him. You know, went out last night for drinks. Maybe he drank
- 26:23too much. But in the back of you know, Bbe's mind, he
- 26:26was like, uh, oh, did he take his own life. He's
- 26:29been really depressed. He really loves Jill. What's going on now? I
- 26:33also have to tell you. Bbe specifically told his why if he doesn't answer
- 26:37the door, don't go in the house, don't do anything, just call
- 26:41me. Well, Virginia went over there, she pulled up. She knocked
- 26:47on the front door. There was no answer, so she went around to
- 26:49the back door, tried knocking again. Once again, there was no answer.
- 26:55However, she decided to try the door and it was unmocked. Virginia
- 27:00carefully led herself into the home and she walked through the laundry room, the
- 27:03kitchen, then into the den, where she peered down the hallway into her
- 27:10shock and horror, there was Clark lying on the floor in his boxers and
- 27:15T shirt covered in blood. There was a large pool of blood on the
- 27:18floor and smears on the wall. Virginia grabbed the phone in the kitchen and
- 27:23called her husband and said, I quote, I don't know if he's dead
- 27:27or not, but there's blood all over and he's laying in the hall.
- 27:34Bibe instructed her to call for an ambulance and then to call for the police.
- 27:40Friends, for those of you who were like me and are saying,
- 27:42why didn't she just call nine one one? Well, guess what, Nine
- 27:47one one wasn't a thing back then, which I didn't realize that seventy two
- 27:51we didn't have nine one one. Apparently we did not. Bibe then told
- 27:56a fellow coworker that he was heading over to Clark's house because something was not
- 28:00right. The coworker, Revis Maggard, decided to go along with baby to
- 28:03Clark's house. The duo worried that Clark had done it to himself because he
- 28:08had been severely depressed. He missed his wife, he missed his children.
- 28:14However, even without an autopsy, the police could tell this was not an
- 28:18accident. It was a murder clar and simple. They could tell this by
- 28:22the gunshot wounds on Clark's body. Upon checking the house and being informed that
- 28:27Clarke had withdrawn ten thousand dollars the previous day and had been carrying in his
- 28:32wallet and shown it at the bar, the police did not find the ten
- 28:36thousand dollars that Clark had been showing around the bar earlier the night before,
- 28:40or Clark's wallach, which he was known to carry a decent amount of cash
- 28:45in his jewelry was still on his body, and the only other item that
- 28:48was missing was a forty one caliber Magnum gun. During the autopsy, the
- 28:52medical examiner found twenty two caliber bullets. Clark Quait had been shot in the
- 28:57back and in his head. One of the twenty two caliber bullets had bounced
- 29:03around inside Clark's body and caused massive amounts of internal damage. The bullet pulled
- 29:08from his brain was shattered into many small pieces. On the final report,
- 29:14it was stated that Clark quite died from one gunshot wound to the head and
- 29:18one to the back. Clark'swhile it was found several days after his death in
- 29:22a ditch, the murder weapon, to this day has never been found.
- 29:26Clark's friends and family told the police about the contentious divorce and all of the
- 29:32crazy stunts that Jill had pulled over the last several months. Jill was,
- 29:36as most spouse as are, somewhat of interest, and the police wanted to
- 29:41talk with her. Many of Clark's friends, co workers, and the general
- 29:45public in Houston were outraged with the Houston Police Department during this time. The
- 29:52public felt that the police did not care about solving crimes and that maybe they
- 29:56were corrupt. Let me go back to when Clark was killed, BB,
- 30:00who is Clark's closest friend, was the one to call Jill at her parents'
- 30:04house in New Orleans to notify her that her husband had been killed. Biebe
- 30:10says that Jill reacted as one would think they would when getting bad news.
- 30:15She was shocked. She asked why, how, how could this happen?
- 30:21Et cetera. Within roughly forty eight hours, BB received to call at his
- 30:26office in Houston from a Luis A d Rosa, Jill's attorney, who was
- 30:32calling to ask about the company's death benefits. Okay, guys, really within
- 30:38forty eight hours, could we have a funeral bury him? Let some time
- 30:45go maybe drive to Houston, Jill. Seriously, However, the reason they
- 30:49called BB is because he was the company's employee benefit manager at the time.
- 30:56Guys, I have to say I can't imagine being BB in getting that call
- 31:00just within a couple of days after Clark's death. I mean, this was
- 31:04his best friend. I'm sure Boebe was sitting there and going, really,
- 31:10Be, you're calling and asking me this, Why aren't you calling to see
- 31:15what we found? Out something besides oh when can I get my money?
- 31:18Sorry, guys, it enrages me. Just dismidged that. I mean,
- 31:22she had children, he adopted her son. Why did she not have a
- 31:27little bit more? Even if you're getting divorced, you care about you know,
- 31:33your soon to be ex husband, the father of your children, or
- 31:36maybe you don't. Jill and Clark were still legally married, since Clark had
- 31:41only filed for the divorce twenty days before he was murdered. Still, I
- 31:47guess it. I think she could have waited to get an attorney and start
- 31:51asking about the payout. Cold hearted b Okay, I guess I can say
- 31:56cold hearted bitch is the nicest thing I can say about Jill. Jill received
- 32:00one hundred and fifty six thousand dollars from Clark's benefits, along with six hundred
- 32:04and eighty nine shares of Tenneco stock. It has also reported Jill received Clark's
- 32:09parents estate that was left to Clark through one hundred and fifty thousand dollars trust
- 32:15fund set up for the boys. See, guys, Jill got to control
- 32:21all of that money. Jill's attorney de Rosa notified Bby that Jill had been
- 32:24checked into a psychiatric hospital after cutting her own wrist. Jill was extremely upset
- 32:30about how she would survive as a single mother and raise three boys on her
- 32:36own. Interestingly enough, by being in the hospital, the Houston police were
- 32:40not able to question Jill about her husband and his murder. Houston detective Sergeant
- 32:47Benford said, and I quote, we wanted to talk to her, but
- 32:52she hid behind attorneys. The same detective told the National Inquirer twenty years later
- 32:58that Jill Quoit was the only only suspect and they never questioned her. Okay,
- 33:04guys, I think I would be like the coworker's friend's family in Houston,
- 33:09saying, why are you not researching this? You think it's this woman?
- 33:14When she got out of the hospital, why weren't you tracking her down?
- 33:16I mean, come on, guys. Clark's family handled the scheduling of
- 33:22the funeral. Jill nor the children attended the funeral for William Clark Quoite.
- 33:28Clark's family spread Clark's ashes at the Chagrin River. Clark's brother Charles told author
- 33:35Clifford L. Lindecker, who wrote Poisoned Vowels, that twenty years later he
- 33:40still had not heard a word from the Houston Police Department about his brother's murder.
- 33:46After being released from the psychiatric hospital, Jill decided it was time for
- 33:52a change of scenery, or, as I suspect, a new pool of
- 33:55suckers for her to go after. She packed up the kiddos and headed to
- 34:00sunny California. Jill, being the conniving woman she is, told her boys
- 34:05that their dad died of a heart attack. I guess that was easier than
- 34:09saying I killed him, had someone to kill him, or someone shot him.
- 34:15I mean all that's just my opinion. Jill and the boys settled in
- 34:20Los Angeles to start their next chapter, and as you can guess, friends,
- 34:24it wasn't long before Jill had a couple of new men in her life.
- 34:29And I have to say, one of these relationships is very weird and
- 34:34a whole lot creepy. But that's all for today. We will continue next
- 34:39week with part two. Thank you for listening to True Crime and Wine Time.
- 34:45Until next week, stay safe, watch out for crime, and enjoy
- 34:51your wine time. This episode was researched by Terry Dusaul, edited by Handsome
