- 1:01Speaker 1: and author of multiple books, including the rom Com Ultimate
- 1:05Speaker 1: Trivia Book, which means this evening, He's not going to
- 1:08Speaker 1: get a single question wrong.
- 1:10Speaker 3: It's Neil E. Fisher.
- 1:12Speaker 4: Thank you for having me. I'm really against the system.
- 1:13Speaker 4: I'm not gonna get any questions right about rom Com
- 1:15Speaker 4: just to hopefully sell the book even more.
- 1:18Speaker 1: That's so smart, that's such good thinking. Absolutely, Oh, welcome
- 1:23Speaker 1: was always Audra. Welcome, Neil. How are you both?
- 1:26Speaker 5: I'm doing good.
- 1:27Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm so happy to be here. I've been listening
- 1:29Speaker 3: to the show.
- 1:30Speaker 4: I was considering doing a matthe McConaughey voice the entire time,
- 1:33Speaker 4: but when I heard Aaron do an action wee voice
- 1:35Speaker 4: for an entire episode. I was like, I don't want
- 1:36Speaker 4: to make the listeners angry with me, so I'm just
- 1:38Speaker 4: gonna yeah, the.
- 1:41Speaker 5: Commitment, it's too much.
- 1:43Speaker 3: It was admirable, it was amirable, though.
- 1:45Speaker 1: It was it was Yeah. If that becomes a precedent,
- 1:48Speaker 1: if people start doing full accents for full episodes, I
- 1:51Speaker 1: don't know if I'd be able to handle it.
- 1:52Speaker 2: Gosh, people are going to know that your accent's fake
- 1:55Speaker 2: any more fake accents, and they're going to catch.
- 1:58Speaker 5: On to you.
- 2:00Speaker 4: That's for the final episode where you take off the
- 2:02Speaker 4: mask like Scooby Doo and you're someone else.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, don't don't give away all my secrets, Neil. Okay,
- 2:10Speaker 1: So we are here today to quiz about rom coms.
- 2:13Speaker 1: So many rom coms. We're gonna come up almost all
- 2:15Speaker 1: of them, I reckon, But first I want to know
- 2:18Speaker 1: an Auder. I think we'll start with you. Are you
- 2:20Speaker 1: a rom com fan?
- 2:21Speaker 2: I enjoy rom coms. I didn't watch as many growing
- 2:25Speaker 2: up because I was like, I couldn't be like other
- 2:28Speaker 2: girls and enjoy these movies.
- 2:30Speaker 5: I was wrong. I wasn't like other girls. I was worse.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Now I am seeing the light in just being a
- 2:38Speaker 2: human and enjoying things. So I thoroughly enjoy a good
- 2:43Speaker 2: rom com.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Excellent. That's that's good to know. And it's even if
- 2:47Speaker 1: you didn't enjoy a good rom com. You are partnered
- 2:49Speaker 1: with someone who's written a rom com trivia book, So
- 2:51Speaker 1: I think you'd be think you'd be okay. So, Neil,
- 2:54Speaker 1: I've got to ask a very awkward question. That would
- 2:56Speaker 1: be awkward if you said, no, are you a fan
- 2:58Speaker 1: of rom coms?
- 3:00Speaker 4: I actually hate them? No, No, I love rom coms.
- 3:04Speaker 4: I always have since I was a kid. And you know,
- 3:07Speaker 4: my wife and I had a rom com themed wedding,
- 3:09Speaker 4: got married in an old movie theater. Our friend who's
- 3:12Speaker 4: an editor of mine, cut together a movie trailer of
- 3:14Speaker 4: the greatest roalm com moments to open up the ceremony,
- 3:17Speaker 4: and it was just a really nice event. And so
- 3:19Speaker 4: I think i'd have to, yeah, definitely say I love
- 3:21Speaker 4: rom coms.
- 3:22Speaker 1: Yeah, Oh my goodness, that's incredible, so cool.
- 3:26Speaker 5: Oh that's so cool.
- 3:27Speaker 1: Yeah, I retroactively want to be invited to that wedding.
- 3:30Speaker 1: Can I be friends with you in the past, Neil.
- 3:32Speaker 4: Yeah, I think so, I have a time portal. Right here,
- 3:34Speaker 4: I'll open it up. We'll go right back. There's popcorn,
- 3:36Speaker 4: thero soda. Everyone's invited.
- 3:38Speaker 3: Oh, Hugh Jackman can have a time portal, so can you. Yeah,
- 3:41Speaker 3: that's right. I just less abs and less muscles, but
- 3:43Speaker 3: it's still the same.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Oh, good stuff. I think you're going to make a
- 3:47Speaker 1: good team. Actually, before before I introduce your opponents, if
- 3:52Speaker 1: you have a favorite rom com, just want to shout out,
- 3:53Speaker 1: just like full Time Top prom Com.
- 3:56Speaker 2: I have a different favorite realm com for different Oh
- 3:59Speaker 2: yeah in the present at this exact moment.
- 4:01Speaker 1: Oh or this general five of time does to this
- 4:06Speaker 1: exact moment.
- 4:07Speaker 2: And I simply, I simply could not. Well, I was
- 4:11Speaker 2: thinking today as I was looking back at rom coms
- 4:14Speaker 2: and like refreshing my memory, I want to go back
- 4:17Speaker 2: and watch The Big Sick again. Oh sure, because I'd
- 4:21Speaker 2: watched that when it first came out, and I was
- 4:23Speaker 2: thinking back and I was like, that feels like that
- 4:26Speaker 2: feels like.
- 4:26Speaker 5: A need to rewatch.
- 4:28Speaker 2: Yeah, so I'll say I have a need to rewatch,
- 4:31Speaker 2: but I could not pick a favorite.
- 4:32Speaker 5: Just kidding. It's when Harry met Sally.
- 4:38Speaker 1: And Neil. What about you? Have you got a favorite
- 4:40Speaker 1: rom com in this moment.
- 4:41Speaker 4: In this moment, I think that's a great way to
- 4:43Speaker 4: put it. At what Roger said, I think you have
- 4:45Speaker 4: different rom coms for different things. I think you know
- 4:48Speaker 4: the one that reminds me of getting rid of my wife.
- 4:50Speaker 4: We watched it on our way to getting engaged. We
- 4:52Speaker 4: got engaged in New York and did a scavenger hunt
- 4:54Speaker 4: for and we just love You've Got Mailed because it's
- 4:57Speaker 4: such a great New York City rom com. Tom Hanks, Magrand,
- 5:01Speaker 4: you can't really beat it. And Nora Fron is one
- 5:03Speaker 4: of the greatest filmmakers of all time. And yeah, I
- 5:05Speaker 4: love that one.
- 5:06Speaker 1: Oh perfect, perfect answer. Good stuff. I think I'll produce
- 5:10Speaker 1: your opponents now. I think it's about time. Because this
- 5:13Speaker 1: is a quiz, you'll need some opponents to play against.
- 5:16Speaker 1: And just for this episode, I'm going to introduce them together.
- 5:19Speaker 1: They are cast members here at gate Leapers. We love
- 5:22Speaker 1: them as individuals, but today, for the rom com episode,
- 5:26Speaker 1: I'd like to tap into their knowledge as a couple
- 5:28Speaker 1: and see if this makes or breaks them.
- 5:30Speaker 3: It's Chris and Jen Reagan A.
- 5:33Speaker 6: What I mean, if there's anything I'm learning is that
- 5:36Speaker 6: Neil is really showing up Matt and Chris, I sit
- 5:40Speaker 6: back and just let you guys feel.
- 5:42Speaker 3: Yeah, well, that's because we're the problematic friends of the couple,
- 5:47Speaker 3: friends of.
- 5:47Speaker 1: The protests, the protagon, sta Yea and that are just.
- 5:50Speaker 3: Like always young at each other.
- 5:54Speaker 2: You need us as a foil for your characters.
- 5:58Speaker 5: So how truly love they are?
- 6:01Speaker 6: We are exactly we are truly the couple in serendipity.
- 6:07Speaker 6: That's like the friend and his wife who he's like,
- 6:10Speaker 6: I need to get reconnected and at the end he's like,
- 6:12Speaker 6: I'm gonna go get her. We're just that problematic off screen. Yeah, well,
- 6:17Speaker 6: best friend with marriage problems.
- 6:19Speaker 3: You're lying the whole time time.
- 6:22Speaker 1: You guys hate each other.
- 6:26Speaker 6: Our friendships a lie. Wow, they're the main characters. Are
- 6:31Speaker 6: like fully taking taking this stage. We're just in the background.
- 6:34Speaker 3: No, but we don't hate each other. So it's cool.
- 6:37Speaker 3: I feel like we're a little too deep in a
- 6:39Speaker 3: bit now.
- 6:39Speaker 6: So we're we just celebrated our eight year anniversary in November.
- 6:44Speaker 6: We're fine.
- 6:46Speaker 4: You have a great like you know, nineteen forties, you know,
- 6:48Speaker 4: Carrie Grant, Katherine Heppern, you know, yeah, scopball energy, which
- 6:52Speaker 4: is that everyone needs that.
- 6:54Speaker 3: That's the best compliment I've ever gotten in my entire life.
- 7:01Speaker 6: You might need a break, appreciate it.
- 7:02Speaker 3: Yeah, I need to take a walk.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Well, that's good that we're able to tap into you
- 7:08Speaker 1: guys as a couple, because I think, yeah, it would
- 7:10Speaker 1: be kind of embarrassing, and if a couple lost their
- 7:12Speaker 1: roum com episode right like, that wouldn't exactly be a
- 7:15Speaker 1: a good thing. You've got that connection, that chemistry.
- 7:19Speaker 3: Well, Matt, I never lose this game, so this.
- 7:23Speaker 6: Was a really good foil for each other. Chris famously
- 7:27Speaker 6: loses most of his games, and I famously hold the
- 7:29Speaker 6: best records, so we're probably gonna end in a tie,
- 7:34Speaker 6: not if.
- 7:35Speaker 3: I have anything to say about it.
- 7:37Speaker 1: All Right, Well, let's let's see where your knowledge is at.
- 7:41Speaker 6: Chris.
- 7:41Speaker 1: You a fan of roum coms?
- 7:42Speaker 3: I am. I really do love rom coms. Grew up
- 7:46Speaker 3: watching them a lot with my mom and everything, And
- 7:50Speaker 3: which is kind of surprising because like we grew up.
- 7:52Speaker 3: I grew up in a very very dude household, one
- 7:55Speaker 3: of one of six, most of which were dudes, and
- 7:57Speaker 3: a lot of sports all that kind of stuff. But
- 7:59Speaker 3: like we still made for musicals, We still made time
- 8:01Speaker 3: for rom coms. I think that really rounded me out
- 8:04Speaker 3: as a person because I base everything in my life
- 8:09Speaker 3: off of movies, So you know, either.
- 8:12Speaker 1: Moment man exactly. All right, Jen, what about yourself? Are
- 8:18Speaker 1: you a fan of rom coms as well?
- 8:19Speaker 6: Oh yeah, well our job was playing that not like
- 8:21Speaker 6: other girls routine. I was that girl watching a lot
- 8:27Speaker 6: of these movies on like TBS or TLC or cable channel.
- 8:32Speaker 6: So like when I started watching them, and it's an
- 8:35Speaker 6: adult or older in life when I would watch the
- 8:36Speaker 6: whole thing and be like that got cut out. I've
- 8:39Speaker 6: never seen that scene work. So there was always those
- 8:41Speaker 6: like specific scenes that got cut for the TV viewing.
- 8:47Speaker 6: But yeah, I started watching round comms at a very
- 8:49Speaker 6: young age, mom and sister, and then like every girlfriend
- 8:55Speaker 6: that I had growing up, we just were obsessed and
- 8:59Speaker 6: it's the go to how to get cozy for the
- 9:01Speaker 6: season seasonal rom.
- 9:03Speaker 1: Coms, Yeah, oh definitely. Yeah. This season feels like the
- 9:07Speaker 1: start of the rom com season. It's sort of like
- 9:09Speaker 1: Holiday through to Valentine's you know, yeah, it's.
- 9:12Speaker 6: Once you've hit like September and we're technically in fall
- 9:16Speaker 6: and you, yeah, you bust out the Nora from movies
- 9:19Speaker 6: and then you hit the holiday Christmas rom coms and
- 9:23Speaker 6: then you end on Valentine's Day. Yeah, it's fantastic, it
- 9:27Speaker 6: really is.
- 9:28Speaker 1: And so Jen, would you say, is a holiday rom
- 9:31Speaker 1: com one of your favorite rom coms? In this moment?
- 9:33Speaker 1: Obviously that's what we've established.
- 9:35Speaker 6: Yeah, I was just thinking about that question, and I
- 9:37Speaker 6: would say the Holiday is one of my favorite rom coms.
- 9:41Speaker 6: But like year round, Now, do I have a problem
- 9:44Speaker 6: with Cameron Diaz is acting cry acting? Absolutely? But who
- 9:50Speaker 6: the other three ensemble? Really send it home so we
- 9:54Speaker 6: can forget her? But yeah, definitely, especially in this season.
- 9:59Speaker 6: But I'm all, so, I love a good shitty Christmas movie, like,
- 10:04Speaker 6: you know, anything from Netflix, anything that has a bell, Gravier,
- 10:09Speaker 6: Aldovia or Genova, whatever.
- 10:12Speaker 4: Last I love that all the ones you said are
- 10:14Speaker 4: very accurate. An are in the movies.
- 10:16Speaker 5: Yeah, oh she knows her lore.
- 10:21Speaker 6: European countries.
- 10:22Speaker 3: We're deep in the Netflix Christmas cinematic universe.
- 10:25Speaker 4: Alrighty if it doesn't happen as the HUDs pretending to
- 10:28Speaker 4: be someone else, thank you.
- 10:32Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 10:33Speaker 1: Oh that's perfect. Oh yeah, incredible, great, great, AD's a yeah,
- 10:40Speaker 1: the holiday times, it's also the romance times. These things
- 10:43Speaker 1: blend together. Chris, I've got to ask you as well
- 10:46Speaker 1: if asked everyone else, is do you have a favorite
- 10:49Speaker 1: rum Com?
- 10:50Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 10:50Speaker 3: And actually I was reminded of it. I don't even
- 10:52Speaker 3: remember what our conversation was last week, but we were
- 10:54Speaker 3: hanging out with y'all, and I remembered Sabrina and not
- 10:59Speaker 3: the Humphrey Bogart one, the Harrison Ford one, the Harrison
- 11:03Speaker 3: Ford and Grekeknire one from the nineties. I that movie
- 11:08Speaker 3: is like so deep in my heart and soul. And
- 11:11Speaker 3: you know, I haven't seen it in years. Great chance
- 11:14Speaker 3: that it's super problematic. I don't know. I don't remember,
- 11:19Speaker 3: but I just have very fond memories of that movie.
- 11:23Speaker 3: So I'm going to say that one.
- 11:25Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a good answer. I'd love to riff with
- 11:28Speaker 1: you here, but I've not actually seen that movie, so
- 11:30Speaker 1: I cannot.
- 11:32Speaker 3: It's fine.
- 11:34Speaker 1: We just did a matter reference that. That's fine. All right,
- 11:38Speaker 1: good stuff, Teams, You've now arrived in New York City
- 11:42Speaker 1: ready to start your new life as a writer or
- 11:44Speaker 1: a painter, or a lumberjack or whatever. But before you
- 11:48Speaker 1: can proceed, your new pairing is going to need a
- 11:50Speaker 1: rom com themed team name. Please, let's start with Audra
- 11:54Speaker 1: and Neil. Have you got any ideas?
- 11:56Speaker 4: Yeah, what do you have first? Because I'm sure it's
- 11:58Speaker 4: better than what I have.
- 12:00Speaker 6: I have.
- 12:01Speaker 5: I have a couple ideas. I wanted to do a
- 12:03Speaker 5: play on love actually, so I couldn't decide. I think
- 12:09Speaker 5: the best I will say, I think the best one
- 12:10Speaker 5: is love Triviality. Oh no, in the same vein a
- 12:15Speaker 5: miscanjey mis congeniality. Play in mis.
- 12:19Speaker 2: Triviality pretty good. I like those two rhyme ish ones
- 12:26Speaker 2: in how to Lose a Guy in four Rounds?
- 12:31Speaker 6: That's great. Also, is that foreshadowing? Are you gonna make mad?
- 12:38Speaker 2: I always try? And then Sleepless in Anywhere that isn't
- 12:45Speaker 2: my own home?
- 12:48Speaker 3: Pillows are never good?
- 12:50Speaker 2: Yeah, a little, a little wordy or the that's what
- 12:55Speaker 2: the what she's havings.
- 12:58Speaker 5: It's a little.
- 12:59Speaker 2: That was a little tricky to say, as I found
- 13:03Speaker 2: out in that moment.
- 13:04Speaker 5: Those are my big hitters.
- 13:06Speaker 4: I those are really good, especially the fact that you
- 13:08Speaker 4: got like branding in there, which I never would have done.
- 13:10Speaker 3: And that was so night reality.
- 13:12Speaker 7: I'm on it.
- 13:14Speaker 3: I love actually is good.
- 13:16Speaker 4: I was, I mean, mine weren't going to be that
- 13:18Speaker 4: great at all I was just thinking of, like, uh,
- 13:20Speaker 4: you know the meat cuties, I mean nothing, Oh that.
- 13:24Speaker 3: That's really good.
- 13:26Speaker 4: Yeah, but I totally your choice because I'm just happy
- 13:29Speaker 4: to be here and it's surrounded by also whatever you
- 13:31Speaker 4: want to go with.
- 13:31Speaker 3: I'm I'm one hundred percent on your team if.
- 13:34Speaker 1: You're looking for outsides opinions. I really like how to
- 13:38Speaker 1: Least a Guy in full rounds.
- 13:39Speaker 3: That's my favorite. So I love that one.
- 13:41Speaker 5: It's very good. It's long in the title.
- 13:44Speaker 2: If we're gonna that would be my only It'll be good.
- 13:48Speaker 1: They have so many characters now.
- 13:50Speaker 4: That could be how to Lose a game in four
- 13:53Speaker 4: rounds subtitle The Love Ferns.
- 13:57Speaker 6: Oh gosh, that's my like summer favorite.
- 14:01Speaker 3: It's such a great Summer one as.
- 14:03Speaker 6: Good Summer one.
- 14:04Speaker 2: It was in my list of ones that I was
- 14:06Speaker 2: debating between Summer one is that one. Winter one is
- 14:11Speaker 2: Christmas in Connecticut. It's so good, and so it's just
- 14:18Speaker 2: every season's got a different one.
- 14:20Speaker 6: It does, and every mood has one.
- 14:24Speaker 3: Yeah, that's true. It is the mood ring of cinema.
- 14:27Speaker 5: What a versatile genre.
- 14:29Speaker 1: It's so good. It's so good that we're going to
- 14:31Speaker 1: be quizzing in it for the next hour. What a
- 14:35Speaker 1: beautiful will to be in. So we've got how to
- 14:37Speaker 1: lose a game in four rounds?
- 14:39Speaker 3: Yes?
- 14:40Speaker 1: Nice, love it. Let's find out who they'll be facing,
- 14:42Speaker 1: Jen Christ.
- 14:44Speaker 6: Okay, So we were thinking a riff on, like what
- 14:49Speaker 6: are these board rooms when they're deciding the title of
- 14:52Speaker 6: these movies? Right, there's a formula all of these things.
- 14:55Speaker 6: And so while we couldn't find something funny enough to say,
- 14:59Speaker 6: we're going to put Ma on the spot and make
- 15:00Speaker 6: him help us make our team name. So, Matt, can
- 15:03Speaker 6: you give me a number?
- 15:04Speaker 1: Oh? Sure, okay, six?
- 15:07Speaker 6: Okay? Could you give me a plural noun? So a
- 15:11Speaker 6: noun but it has an S at the end bees
- 15:15Speaker 6: ooh okay. And then can you give me an American city,
- 15:18Speaker 6: preferably not Denver, just to get us out of our
- 15:20Speaker 6: own okay show?
- 15:21Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I'm going to go with Grand Rapids. That's
- 15:26Speaker 1: the place, isn't it.
- 15:28Speaker 3: Yeah? Yeah, that's actually honestly, so this is actually perfect.
- 15:34Speaker 3: So our team name is six P's and Grand Rapids.
- 15:38Speaker 3: And now this is actually a sequel. This is the
- 15:41Speaker 3: sixth sequel to the B movie. So got Jerry Seinfeld
- 15:45Speaker 3: on you know, and the love that he made with
- 15:48Speaker 3: that human woman just really evolves throughout the sixth the
- 15:51Speaker 3: B movie universe really at this point. So yeah, that's
- 15:56Speaker 3: that's our team name the six P's and Grand Rapids.
- 15:59Speaker 1: I love it. I love your brick. Six bees in
- 16:07Speaker 1: Grand Rapids. I mean, I can't up with it. I
- 16:09Speaker 1: should remember it. Six bees in Grand Rappits. I really
- 16:15Speaker 1: wish I hadn't said bees.
- 16:18Speaker 3: I'm so glad you did the story rights itself.
- 16:21Speaker 6: Right.
- 16:22Speaker 4: We've got a bee keeper falls in love with, you know,
- 16:24Speaker 4: a dancer who loves the movie Honey starring just scal But.
- 16:27Speaker 6: Maybe that's an amazing movie.
- 16:29Speaker 3: Jerry Seinfeld is already signed on.
- 16:31Speaker 6: So when we were play testing this, we were like, okay,
- 16:35Speaker 6: thirteen and then I was like, do we do proper
- 16:39Speaker 6: nouns or normal manouns? And I was like, uh, we
- 16:42Speaker 6: named like a sports team and I said in like
- 16:45Speaker 6: Billings Montana or something like that. And he was like
- 16:48Speaker 6: like does that work? And he was like, yeah, the
- 16:50Speaker 6: team gets stuck in Montana and they all find love
- 16:53Speaker 6: interests in the airport. And I was like, yeah, you're right,
- 16:56Speaker 6: writes it works.
- 16:58Speaker 3: We can the mad Lib Jacks out. That's all I'm saying. Yeah,
- 17:02Speaker 3: I buy it. It's almost like love is in everything
- 17:05Speaker 3: and all around us. Gross, So we have how to
- 17:12Speaker 3: lose a game in four rounds versus six bs in
- 17:16Speaker 3: grand rapids.
- 17:17Speaker 1: I love the out of context.
- 17:20Speaker 6: The se is gonna be so good for.
- 17:22Speaker 1: This, all right. And if you're listening to this and
- 17:26Speaker 1: thinking these kinds of films are so fake, love is boring. Actually,
- 17:32Speaker 1: first of all, blame don't worry his order with a
- 17:35Speaker 1: little segment we like to call passing knowledge.
- 17:41Speaker 2: Romantic comedies or rom coms, are a subgenre of comedy
- 17:46Speaker 2: and romance fiction focusing on lighthearted, humorous plot lines centered
- 17:51Speaker 2: on love and how it can surmount all obstacles. Obstacles
- 17:56Speaker 2: up to and including a small but devas dating miscommunication.
- 18:02Speaker 2: While the idea of a funny movie where the main
- 18:05Speaker 2: characters fall in love goes back to the thirties, if
- 18:08Speaker 2: I told you to picture a romantic comedy, you would
- 18:11Speaker 2: probably picture one from what is known as the Golden
- 18:14Speaker 2: Age of romantic comedy. You were picturing pretty women, weren't you. God,
- 18:20Speaker 2: you are so predictable. See this is why we can
- 18:24Speaker 2: never be together. Honestly, how could you not picture something
- 18:28Speaker 2: from the Golden Age with classics like When Harry Met Sally,
- 18:32Speaker 2: Sleepless in Seattle and You've Got Mail all the way
- 18:35Speaker 2: through to Miscongeniality, two Weeks Notice and the Proposal. Other
- 18:40Speaker 2: rom coms not starring Meg Ryan and Sandra Bullock are available,
- 18:44Speaker 2: so it's just two people falling in love. Big whoop,
- 18:48Speaker 2: big whoop. Indeed, we love rom coms for good reason.
- 18:53Speaker 2: They bring lightheartedness of jokes, the comfort of familiar tropes,
- 18:57Speaker 2: and the high stakes.
- 18:58Speaker 5: Of love itself.
- 19:00Speaker 2: So set down that boombox you're holding over your head
- 19:03Speaker 2: because you had me at Let's play Pandemonium.
- 19:08Speaker 1: Thank you, Audra. Just before we get to today's games,
- 19:11Speaker 1: I've asked each player to bring in a muse, something
- 19:14Speaker 1: that inspires them or something they love from this particular fandom.
- 19:17Speaker 1: Rom Coms are inspiring to me because they help us
- 19:20Speaker 1: contextualize the concept of love, you know, the very romantic
- 19:24Speaker 1: thing to do contextualized concepts. Audra will start with you,
- 19:29Speaker 1: what's inspiring you from the world of comantic remedies.
- 19:35Speaker 2: I am inspired by the love story between a dynamic
- 19:40Speaker 2: and impulsive American woman and a mild mannered bread who
- 19:46Speaker 2: met by chance, and they fall in love even though
- 19:49Speaker 2: they live such different lives on the other side of
- 19:52Speaker 2: the planet, and you know, they fall in love and
- 19:54Speaker 2: they decide to live in England. Wait, wait a second,
- 19:58Speaker 2: this is not my muse notes, this is the lot
- 20:00Speaker 2: of nodding Hill. Okay, no one would choose, well, I
- 20:06Speaker 2: wouldn't choose to live in England.
- 20:09Speaker 3: US.
- 20:12Speaker 1: Do I have to join in to guarantee my citizens?
- 20:15Speaker 2: Yes, yes, no, I would live in the UK, but
- 20:22Speaker 2: I prefer the States I do as well, so good,
- 20:28Speaker 2: but I love any movie that does have that US
- 20:31Speaker 2: UK selfishly.
- 20:34Speaker 5: But I couldn't. I couldn't resist the chance to make
- 20:36Speaker 5: a nodding hill.
- 20:38Speaker 1: Joe, that was a good bet. That was a good bet.
- 20:40Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 20:41Speaker 3: You're just a girl on a podcast sitting in front
- 20:44Speaker 3: of a boy hosting the podcasts.
- 20:47Speaker 6: Yeah, asking him to give me a bonus point, not
- 20:52Speaker 6: a dry dry.
- 20:56Speaker 1: No, that is that is a good use. You've you've
- 20:58Speaker 1: referenced a rum com style story, so very good, break good, absolutely, Okay,
- 21:03Speaker 1: We'll move on over to your how to lose a
- 21:05Speaker 1: game in four rounds teammates, Neil, what's inspiring you from
- 21:08Speaker 1: brom coms?
- 21:09Speaker 3: That's a great question.
- 21:10Speaker 4: I think I talked about my wife before, but I
- 21:12Speaker 4: think ever since I was a kid, you know, there's
- 21:14Speaker 4: such fantastical versions of love that, you know, even if
- 21:18Speaker 4: your life's kind of going a wry or wrong, as
- 21:20Speaker 4: Jen said, you can kind of cozy up and watch
- 21:22Speaker 4: them and feel better.
- 21:23Speaker 6: You know.
- 21:24Speaker 4: I remember the first sort of meet cute, if you
- 21:26Speaker 4: want to call it that. When I was a kid,
- 21:27Speaker 4: I was at a school dance and my first dance
- 21:30Speaker 4: ever was with a friend of mine named Fallon, who
- 21:33Speaker 4: was two feet taller than me and had Frankenstein arms
- 21:36Speaker 4: outstretched dancing with her two Brian Adams. And ever since then,
- 21:40Speaker 4: you know, I think seeing other people kind of try
- 21:44Speaker 4: and succeed in love, whether it's a grand gesture or
- 21:47Speaker 4: a letter, or you know, seeing Jennifer Fewitt walk through
- 21:50Speaker 4: the door and can hardly wade and trying to winter love,
- 21:53Speaker 4: all that stuff is just, I don't know, just kind
- 21:55Speaker 4: of fun to think about, even though it is sort
- 21:57Speaker 4: of very fake and formulaic. But it's comfort that it
- 22:00Speaker 4: is formulaic, and that's why I love it.
- 22:02Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, definitely. It's As I was revisiting some of
- 22:05Speaker 1: these films, I thought, wow, there really is a formula
- 22:07Speaker 1: to it, but in the ones with great writing, it
- 22:11Speaker 1: comes from a col truth that comes from that. That's
- 22:13Speaker 1: a cool risk that we all experience when we take
- 22:16Speaker 1: the gamble of like approaching someone or getting to know someone,
- 22:19Speaker 1: or putting our hearts on the line a little bit.
- 22:21Speaker 1: It comes to even if it plays out formulaic in film.
- 22:25Speaker 2: Yeah, it's one of those things that I think if
- 22:27Speaker 2: there's cliches or formulaic things, it says something about human nature.
- 22:32Speaker 2: And what a wonderful thing to say about human nature.
- 22:36Speaker 4: We love love, Yeah, and I love the fact that,
- 22:40Speaker 4: you know, it's kind of like everyone gets the same
- 22:43Speaker 4: ingredient list, the filmmakers and the writers, and we've gotten
- 22:45Speaker 4: to a point now, thankfully, where in more modern times
- 22:48Speaker 4: the films are more diverse, they have more storylines that
- 22:51Speaker 4: haven't been told before, and so you're giving everyone the
- 22:52Speaker 4: same ingredients, but they can make something really really cool
- 22:55Speaker 4: each time, and it's fun to kind of explore that
- 22:57Speaker 4: with them and discover them too.
- 22:59Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely definitely. That's Yeah, that's very inspiring. That's the
- 23:03Speaker 1: exact definition of amuse. I am inspired. Okay, moving on
- 23:08Speaker 1: over to six Bees in Grand Rapids, Jen what's inspiring
- 23:13Speaker 1: you from rom coms.
- 23:14Speaker 6: Rom Coms are off in my palate cleanser. Like I
- 23:19Speaker 6: was just telling a friend that I do like a
- 23:21Speaker 6: lot of fantasy reading and when I'm like bogged down
- 23:24Speaker 6: by lore and a lot of story beats and details,
- 23:26Speaker 6: that's fantastic. That's that genre. Or like a long TV
- 23:29Speaker 6: series that does the same thing, there's nothing better than
- 23:32Speaker 6: an hour and a half or you know, forty five
- 23:34Speaker 6: minutes in, there's gonna be a miscommunication trope and you're
- 23:37Speaker 6: gonna be like, why did you think that if you
- 23:38Speaker 6: guys were just literally turn around and talk to each other,
- 23:41Speaker 6: you'd be just fine. But that doesn't give you as
- 23:43Speaker 6: a movie and entertainment and the big finale kiss at
- 23:47Speaker 6: the end, but that that is just such a cozy, comforting,
- 23:53Speaker 6: hopeful place to be. And then the fact that, like
- 23:57Speaker 6: like Neil is just saying, you can really flavor it
- 23:59Speaker 6: up depending on the season or the diversity of like
- 24:04Speaker 6: the identities people are holding, or a region or whatever.
- 24:08Speaker 6: Like give me a Midwestern farm going at a business,
- 24:11Speaker 6: Give me an Upstate horse ranch that is going out
- 24:15Speaker 6: of business, Give me a California vineyard that's going out
- 24:19Speaker 6: of business.
- 24:21Speaker 1: You're right, capitalism crumbling is a palate cleansing.
- 24:24Speaker 6: Yes, yes, wow, we really got to that regardless, But
- 24:29Speaker 6: it doesn't matter, like it just comes back and it's
- 24:32Speaker 6: always wholesome. And yeah, I will highlight the season because
- 24:36Speaker 6: it is the season. But you know, I get very
- 24:39Speaker 6: excited to line up all of the holiday rom coms
- 24:43Speaker 6: once we get going and watching them. And yeah, even
- 24:46Speaker 6: though I watch all the same movies every single year,
- 24:48Speaker 6: it doesn't matter. It feels like going home in a way.
- 24:52Speaker 1: Yeah, returning to a familiar place. The partially what a
- 24:56Speaker 1: palate cleanser is. I suppose the other thing is to
- 24:57Speaker 1: cleanse the palette after something different, a fa like Lowell
- 25:04Speaker 1: excellent stuff, Jen very inspiring. Last, but not least, Chris,
- 25:09Speaker 1: what's inspiring you from rom coms?
- 25:11Speaker 3: You know, we all love rom coms here, But what
- 25:15Speaker 3: I also love is this little movie called They Came
- 25:18Speaker 3: Together that so perfectly makes fun of rom coms. And
- 25:25Speaker 3: I feel like it's not talked about enough, it's not
- 25:27Speaker 3: appreciated enough. Uh, and so that's gonna be my muse.
- 25:32Speaker 3: They Came Together, starring Paul Rudd and Amy Holler. Of
- 25:38Speaker 3: course I was gonna mention Paul Rudd. I'm not a monster.
- 25:41Speaker 6: No, I'm saying other people. You're highlighting other.
- 25:43Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah yeah, everybody else is ready. Yeah,
- 25:45Speaker 3: it's a problem for everybody else for sure. For sure. No,
- 25:48Speaker 3: but that is the one movie I could show at
- 25:51Speaker 3: any point throughout all of college and people actually have
- 25:54Speaker 3: a good time and not complain about it. So it
- 25:56Speaker 3: was like, hey, this is a great so I'm gonna
- 25:59Speaker 3: go with that ticket. Is my golden ticket into not
- 26:03Speaker 3: getting raped.
- 26:04Speaker 4: It is kind of like rom conception, right, I mean,
- 26:06Speaker 4: if it is a rom com, even though it's parading
- 26:08Speaker 4: rom coms, someone who enjoys it is actually liking a
- 26:10Speaker 4: ram comming if they hate them.
- 26:11Speaker 3: So yeah, it's like the perfect middle ground. You know,
- 26:15Speaker 3: they still love me, they still fall in love.
- 26:17Speaker 1: That's right, you've got you've got tricks into loving love.
- 26:21Speaker 3: Idiot.
- 26:24Speaker 1: Oh that's great. I do really like that movie, so yeah,
- 26:28Speaker 1: I do think it's Also it doesn't get doesn't get
- 26:30Speaker 1: spoken about a lot, so it's it's nice. Yeah, use
- 26:32Speaker 1: the use the muse segment to platform some media that
- 26:35Speaker 1: people should check out.
- 26:36Speaker 3: It's just my second favorite movie. I couldn't have to.
- 26:39Speaker 3: When we were talking about our favorite movie. So just
- 26:41Speaker 3: slipping in a second.
- 26:42Speaker 1: Yeah, well prepared. I love it all right, seems I'm
- 26:48Speaker 1: feeling very inspired by all your muses. I think it's
- 26:51Speaker 1: time for some games. Are we ready for some games?
- 26:54Speaker 3: Let's do it?
- 26:55Speaker 1: Okay, teams, Let's get in the cab and follow her
- 26:58Speaker 1: to the airport. Not in it way as we raise
- 27:01Speaker 1: a round one. Round one is called when Harry Met Silly.
- 27:10Speaker 1: In turn, I will give our players a synopsis to
- 27:13Speaker 1: a brand new rom com movie from the history of
- 27:16Speaker 1: the genre, except I've changed one letter one of the
- 27:19Speaker 1: words to create a whole new film. So it's gonna
- 27:23Speaker 1: be a recognizable film, but one letter has been changed
- 27:25Speaker 1: to create a whole new meaning. So for example, if
- 27:27Speaker 1: I said Billy Crystal has a series of chance encounters
- 27:30Speaker 1: with the same wacky clown in New York City, the
- 27:32Speaker 1: answer would be when Harry met Silly. Correct answers get
- 27:36Speaker 1: two points. If you don't know, you can do the
- 27:39Speaker 1: thing that men finally learn in the third act of
- 27:41Speaker 1: a rom com and ask your partner for help. And
- 27:46Speaker 1: if they know, I'll still give you a team a
- 27:48Speaker 1: point because teamwork. Okay, So we're going to start with
- 27:51Speaker 1: a synopsis I guess that's what these are. These are questions.
- 27:54Speaker 1: Their synopsis start with a synopsis for Udra. Okay, here
- 27:58Speaker 1: it is a championship fight of the Octagon, uses her
- 28:02Speaker 1: wedding to learn who her real father is, set to
- 28:05Speaker 1: an Abba soundtrack.
- 28:06Speaker 2: Okay, so it's going to be Mama Mia, but fighting themed?
- 28:14Speaker 2: How do I make this fighting themed?
- 28:18Speaker 3: Oh?
- 28:19Speaker 1: Mama Mma, Yes, Mama Mma.
- 28:24Speaker 3: Pick up.
- 28:25Speaker 5: That took me a.
- 28:25Speaker 6: Second with only m's and a's.
- 28:30Speaker 1: Yeah, would you watch Mama Mma?
- 28:34Speaker 5: Probably?
- 28:36Speaker 3: Yeah, I was definitely thinking Slammer Mia.
- 28:38Speaker 1: But hey, that's good too. Okay, let's let's move on
- 28:46Speaker 1: over to six BS. In Grand Rabbit Rapids, Let's have
- 28:49Speaker 1: a synopsis for Jen Here, here we go. A recently
- 28:52Speaker 1: widowed shepherd moves to Washington State with his eight year
- 28:55Speaker 1: old son. However, they find themselves without a flock.
- 29:01Speaker 6: Why did every single movie just exit my brain?
- 29:07Speaker 3: The partner you need some help? Yeah, Sheepless in Seattle.
- 29:16Speaker 6: Really gave me that one tootle the Washington State, just
- 29:23Speaker 6: like Seattle and Washington didn't connect in my brain.
- 29:27Speaker 3: Not the same place.
- 29:28Speaker 1: Get out of here, man's wait, Seattle is in Washington, right? Yeah?
- 29:36Speaker 3: I was just taking her side, even though I was
- 29:38Speaker 3: still wrong.
- 29:39Speaker 1: Smart, you win the rom com. Okay, back on over
- 29:45Speaker 1: to how to lose a game in four rounds. I
- 29:47Speaker 1: might abbreviate that to four rounds. From now, maybe we'll.
- 29:50Speaker 3: Go four rounds. Sounds good?
- 29:51Speaker 1: Four rounds, Okay, four rounds, Neil. Here is your synopsis.
- 29:54Speaker 1: A group of friends remove all invasive species of plant
- 29:58Speaker 1: from several property before attending a ceremony to grieve someone
- 30:02Speaker 1: who died on the job.
- 30:05Speaker 4: Okay, so invasive species of plant. I'm assuming it's four
- 30:10Speaker 4: weddings in the funeral. But I'm trying to think of
- 30:13Speaker 4: what the invasive species? What am I? I'm like blanking
- 30:16Speaker 4: too poison ivy, poison oak. Now do you think you
- 30:22Speaker 4: might know it?
- 30:23Speaker 3: Audre?
- 30:24Speaker 2: I think I know. I think he's gone more general
- 30:27Speaker 2: general specific.
- 30:29Speaker 1: Do you want to reach out to your geopatna for
- 30:32Speaker 1: a point?
- 30:33Speaker 4: I think in the spirit of rom coms, I have
- 30:36Speaker 4: to extend my hand here to do ice skating.
- 30:39Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 30:42Speaker 1: Is it for weedings? And it is indeed full?
- 30:48Speaker 6: Okay, Hi, like puns are the bag.
- 30:57Speaker 1: It have been a few years since we've done a
- 30:59Speaker 1: pun thing.
- 31:00Speaker 4: You're right, I was doing so specific I should have
- 31:02Speaker 4: just gone simple.
- 31:03Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, Well we'll move back on over to
- 31:06Speaker 1: bees bees.
- 31:08Speaker 6: Yeah, six bees versus four rounds. Oh okay, not rom
- 31:12Speaker 6: comi at all, but it does have a similar structure.
- 31:15Speaker 1: This sounds like action movies. Actually, six p's in four rounds?
- 31:18Speaker 1: Why not both, Chris, here's your movie synopsis. Five men
- 31:23Speaker 1: vie for the affection of the fourth planet from the Sun,
- 31:27Speaker 1: but only one manages to land his sperm on the surface.
- 31:32Speaker 3: Well, we already did, mom and Mia, so that's not
- 31:34Speaker 3: that one.
- 31:37Speaker 1: I do not know this one.
- 31:39Speaker 3: I can't even think of what the movie is. Could
- 31:41Speaker 3: you read that one more time?
- 31:42Speaker 1: Definitely? Five men vie for the affection of the fourth
- 31:45Speaker 1: planet from the sun, but only one manages to land
- 31:48Speaker 1: his sperm on the surface. Bit bit blue that one actually, bitru.
- 31:56Speaker 3: Wow, this this game is so much easier when it's
- 31:58Speaker 3: everybody else's turn and on mine.
- 32:03Speaker 1: That's that's the goal, that's the aim.
- 32:06Speaker 3: I just can't think.
- 32:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I think I want to help you.
- 32:09Speaker 3: I think I do.
- 32:10Speaker 6: Oh, the fourth planet from the sun is Mars, right,
- 32:14Speaker 6: five men?
- 32:15Speaker 3: Do you know I for four?
- 32:17Speaker 6: I'm trying to like find the movie I know.
- 32:19Speaker 3: I can't even think of what the movie is so
- 32:23Speaker 3: outside of mom and Mia, but that's three men, so it's.
- 32:25Speaker 1: Not that wrong amount of men.
- 32:34Speaker 3: Yeah. I can't even think of what the movie is.
- 32:36Speaker 3: It's in it's it happens in Mars.
- 32:40Speaker 1: Look, that is one of the words. Oh good sums
- 32:42Speaker 1: down for each of that. Are you passing on this one?
- 32:47Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't. I don't. I'm gonna.
- 32:49Speaker 1: I can't give any points. But ultra neil, do you
- 32:51Speaker 1: have any ideas for this one? So there's something about
- 32:54Speaker 1: Mars instead.
- 32:56Speaker 3: Of yeah, that's that's that's one of those movies. I
- 33:02Speaker 3: never got around a scene.
- 33:04Speaker 1: That's fair, so for everyone else, like, I just started
- 33:07Speaker 1: talking about sperm specific scene. Okay.
- 33:10Speaker 2: Now there's probably people listening who are like, ah, yes.
- 33:14Speaker 3: No, you know, the sperm is usually included in most
- 33:17Speaker 3: of these movies. So that didn't really you know, Yeah,
- 33:21Speaker 3: I didn't narrow it down.
- 33:22Speaker 2: No, but it's quite prominent in that film. It's front
- 33:27Speaker 2: and center.
- 33:28Speaker 1: Okay, I've got another synopsis for each each of our
- 33:31Speaker 1: players here, so order back to you. Here is your
- 33:33Speaker 1: next synopsis. An aspiring stand up comic must navigate cultural
- 33:37Speaker 1: differences when his new partner won't stop wearing oversized footwear.
- 33:43Speaker 5: One more time for me, please?
- 33:45Speaker 1: Yes. An aspiring stand up comic must navigate cultural differences
- 33:49Speaker 1: when his new partner won't stop wearing oversized footwear.
- 33:52Speaker 5: I'm trying to find the pun.
- 33:55Speaker 1: Everyone the thinking faces that everyone has. Now, this is
- 33:58Speaker 1: just what I dream off. This is this is all
- 34:00Speaker 1: I want in life.
- 34:01Speaker 6: This is a game master's dream.
- 34:04Speaker 2: The punt I have to write because I think it
- 34:07Speaker 2: is I oh, oh oh, the big sock.
- 34:12Speaker 1: It is the big sock. You referenced the big sick
- 34:16Speaker 1: earlier and I was like, I think I've got that
- 34:18Speaker 1: question lined up per Audra, Yeah, it is the big sock.
- 34:20Speaker 1: For two points. Good stuff, well done.
- 34:23Speaker 5: But I was like the big I couldn't stop thinking
- 34:25Speaker 5: of the big dick.
- 34:34Speaker 1: Very good, the big sock. Excellent stuff. And as a
- 34:38Speaker 1: little production note, that's the one that made me laugh
- 34:39Speaker 1: the most. Okay, Jen, your next synopsis Heavy weather Man
- 34:45Speaker 1: covering the weather during the annual Everyone Embraced on the
- 34:49Speaker 1: Floor festival. Must relive this day over and over.
- 34:55Speaker 2: Again.
- 34:55Speaker 6: I'm taking a note out of Andre's book to write
- 34:58Speaker 6: stuff down.
- 35:00Speaker 5: Is that cheating? I hope not?
- 35:01Speaker 1: N In the edit, I'll make you sound so witty,
- 35:04Speaker 1: it's you.
- 35:06Speaker 3: I prefer the thoughtful silence. I think that makes really yeah,
- 35:11Speaker 3: really good radio.
- 35:13Speaker 2: It's just a good five seconds, five to ten.
- 35:18Speaker 3: Hey, this ten seconds is for you.
- 35:23Speaker 5: Do with it whatever you need, whatever you need.
- 35:25Speaker 6: Chris just every time he knows it, he gently pats
- 35:29Speaker 6: my knee, and then it just makes me nervous that
- 35:31Speaker 6: she knows.
- 35:31Speaker 3: Sorry, sir, reassuring I got it.
- 35:37Speaker 6: If you don't have it, I do take it that way,
- 35:40Speaker 6: which is good, But then my brain just stops working
- 35:42Speaker 6: because then I'm like, well, I could just ask him.
- 35:48Speaker 1: A TV weather man covering the weather during the annual
- 35:52Speaker 1: Everyone Embrace on the Floor festival, must relive this day
- 35:55Speaker 1: over and over.
- 35:57Speaker 3: Oh, finally I just got it.
- 35:58Speaker 1: Jeez, it's ok.
- 35:59Speaker 3: Forever.
- 36:01Speaker 6: I'm going to reach out to my partner.
- 36:03Speaker 3: It's down Dogs Day. Wait? What down Dog's Day?
- 36:08Speaker 6: Right?
- 36:08Speaker 1: I'm so sorry it's not.
- 36:10Speaker 6: Wait what down dog like the yoga one?
- 36:13Speaker 1: Yeah, only only one changes?
- 36:16Speaker 3: Oh it guess right, Ground Hug Day.
- 36:19Speaker 1: It's it's ground Hug Day.
- 36:21Speaker 3: I thought you said something about oh that was the
- 36:24Speaker 3: embracing thing, was the Hey, Jen, why didn't you get that?
- 36:29Speaker 3: Why did you let me put myself out there like that.
- 36:34Speaker 4: I love the town square though, being full of people
- 36:36Speaker 4: freezing and negative, you know, twenty degrees doing downward dog.
- 36:39Speaker 3: Though I know that I'm done for that. Honestly, that
- 36:42Speaker 3: sounds like a great holiday.
- 36:45Speaker 5: I'd rather do that than a polar plunge.
- 36:47Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, absolutely, But what does the groundhog think? It's
- 36:55Speaker 1: still amazed that that's a real holiday and not something
- 36:58Speaker 1: that was invented for that film, like I thought for
- 37:00Speaker 1: about fifteen years. Okay, back on over to Neil. Here
- 37:04Speaker 1: is your next synopsis. A professional rabbit doctor helps people
- 37:09Speaker 1: find the perfect rabbit home for their rabbit, but his
- 37:12Speaker 1: lagomorphic methods don't work on a gossip columnist.
- 37:16Speaker 3: So you said a rabbit doctor.
- 37:18Speaker 1: Yes, a professional rabbit doctor helps people find the perfect
- 37:23Speaker 1: rabbit home for their rabbit, but his lagomorphic methods don't
- 37:27Speaker 1: work on a gossip columnist.
- 37:30Speaker 4: Oh what's that term? I believe it's hitch? I think, yeah,
- 37:37Speaker 4: but there's a term?
- 37:39Speaker 3: Is it hitch? It's the house that the rabbit is in.
- 37:42Speaker 4: Oh my god, I got this wrong, and on my
- 37:44Speaker 4: own podcast a couple of weeks ago, and I can't
- 37:49Speaker 4: remember the worry in one ear out the other Hitch
- 37:54Speaker 4: you probably know it, Audrew, don't you.
- 37:56Speaker 5: I grew up on a farm.
- 37:59Speaker 4: And I'm so bad at the outdoors. That would be
- 38:01Speaker 4: the rom com that I would be in. It would
- 38:02Speaker 4: just be like, I can't handle the outdoors. You're the
- 38:05Speaker 4: city girl, Yeah, I'm the city girl.
- 38:07Speaker 3: Yes.
- 38:07Speaker 4: And I get lost in the hay because I'm looking
- 38:09Speaker 4: for a ring and you can't find me.
- 38:13Speaker 3: I have no idea.
- 38:13Speaker 4: I know it's the Rabbit Houseitch, but I can't think
- 38:16Speaker 4: of the name so close.
- 38:18Speaker 1: But for a point still oldra huch uch it's touch. Yeah,
- 38:22Speaker 1: good job knowing the movie. It is just that tricky wordplay.
- 38:26Speaker 1: But for a point that we go.
- 38:27Speaker 4: There's a fun story about that movie. There's a scene
- 38:30Speaker 4: where Will Smith is teaching Kevin James how to kiss
- 38:32Speaker 4: and he does the ninety ten rule, like go in
- 38:34Speaker 4: ninety let the other person do the ten. And they
- 38:36Speaker 4: were trying to find somewhere to film, and they didn't
- 38:38Speaker 4: have any permits and they were running out of time.
- 38:39Speaker 4: They came up with that bit. So they were in
- 38:42Speaker 4: the West Village, New York, and they were just knocking
- 38:43Speaker 4: on everyone's door hoping they would let them film. The
- 38:46Speaker 4: only person that let them film and opened the door answered.
- 38:49Speaker 3: You know when they.
- 38:50Speaker 4: Knocked was Sarah Jessica Parker and it was her apartment
- 38:53Speaker 4: that they filmed in front of.
- 38:54Speaker 1: Incredible.
- 38:56Speaker 5: Yeah, that's incredible.
- 38:58Speaker 1: Yeah, oh did they Did they know they were knocking
- 39:01Speaker 1: on Sarah Jessica Poka's house or was that just.
- 39:03Speaker 4: Like oh they literally knocked on like ten doors? No
- 39:05Speaker 4: one answered and then she answers like, oh, well, Smith,
- 39:07Speaker 4: what are you doing here?
- 39:08Speaker 3: Is he? And yeah? Absolutely, corner of Matthew Broderick was
- 39:14Speaker 3: also there.
- 39:17Speaker 4: He might have been upstairs like no filming, you know
- 39:19Speaker 4: in real life? Yeah, this is my off Will what
- 39:24Speaker 4: are you still doing here?
- 39:25Speaker 3: Go home?
- 39:26Speaker 1: Yeah? Okay, Chris, I've got one final synopsis here for you.
- 39:32Speaker 1: Here it is Q. Male identifying Mario ghosts with commitment
- 39:36Speaker 1: issues find themselves drawn to each other in Manhattan.
- 39:42Speaker 3: So I'm assuming Boo is in there somewhere. Can I
- 39:49Speaker 3: get that one more time?
- 39:50Speaker 1: Absolutely to male identifying Mario ghosts with commitment issues find
- 39:55Speaker 1: themselves drawn to each other in Manhattan.
- 39:58Speaker 3: I'm drying a blank on what this movie is. Does
- 40:04Speaker 3: my lovely wife have any ideas? Boos in Manhattan?
- 40:15Speaker 6: Why are you stuck on Boo?
- 40:17Speaker 3: Because that's what a Mario ghost.
- 40:19Speaker 6: Is lost, that got lost, that bun.
- 40:22Speaker 3: Granted, I could be wrong. I was way off of
- 40:25Speaker 3: the last one.
- 40:27Speaker 6: To Mario ghosts find themselves connecting in Manhattan, right? Is
- 40:32Speaker 6: so what you said? M hmm.
- 40:34Speaker 1: I do like how it's either being the film or
- 40:36Speaker 1: the pun that's being gone, and then it's combining the.
- 40:42Speaker 3: It's like you're really good at making games, Matt God Boots,
- 40:48Speaker 3: boos and boots.
- 40:49Speaker 6: You keep replacing two letters, it's just one.
- 40:52Speaker 3: It's yeah, I got nothing.
- 40:56Speaker 1: Do you want to say? Do you want to say? What
- 40:57Speaker 1: was just doing? Because I feel like you might have
- 40:58Speaker 1: been about to say it.
- 40:59Speaker 3: Maybe No, I definitely wasn't. I was going to make
- 41:02Speaker 3: a joke one, but I'm not. No, I don't even
- 41:05Speaker 3: want to.
- 41:05Speaker 1: I don't even wanna.
- 41:06Speaker 6: I'm okay, okay, you can't.
- 41:09Speaker 1: You can't control me, okay, okay, So, uh we're gonna
- 41:15Speaker 1: throw this one over for no points. But uh uldra' neil.
- 41:18Speaker 3: Yeah, I know it.
- 41:19Speaker 4: Do you know, Dodger you were holding up holding the
- 41:22Speaker 4: picture of Billy Eichner from Booze.
- 41:26Speaker 1: Yes it is Booze broke, Yes, it's just Booze.
- 41:31Speaker 5: It's just Chris.
- 41:33Speaker 6: The first thing he said was I know it's booze
- 41:36Speaker 6: because that's the ghost, so technically, and I.
- 41:39Speaker 1: Know it's booze. And she was singular said she said,
- 41:45Speaker 1: I know. He said, I know it's.
- 41:46Speaker 5: Boo He did say booze in Manhattan.
- 41:49Speaker 1: You did say booze in Manhattan, and if it was
- 41:51Speaker 1: booze in Manhattan, but there was a there was a pause.
- 41:55Speaker 3: Just forget that. I finished that sentence. Okay, that's the point.
- 42:02Speaker 1: Anyways, give us a point, no, because that's how you
- 42:06Speaker 1: secretly actually win if I give in to that, like
- 42:09Speaker 1: I've ever won, Matt. Okay, that is the end of
- 42:14Speaker 1: the round, and I'm just so glad I didn't have
- 42:16Speaker 1: to read the clues for Nutting Hill. So let's let's
- 42:23Speaker 1: let's get those scores. Let's look deep in each other's
- 42:24Speaker 1: eyes and see if we can find those scores. And
- 42:27Speaker 1: those scores are four rounds are on six points, six
- 42:31Speaker 1: b's are on one point.
- 42:32Speaker 6: What wow? So good.
- 42:37Speaker 3: Look. I don't want to brag, but I got around.
- 42:43Speaker 1: Up next is round two. After we play, these ads
- 42:46Speaker 1: look still less product placement than in your average rom com.
- 42:49Speaker 1: Let's be let's be real, argandas Round two is cold
- 43:00Speaker 1: say anything, because in this round I don't want to
- 43:03Speaker 1: hear correct answers. I want you to hold them aloft
- 43:06Speaker 1: above your head. Okay, oh yeah, that's right. That's a
- 43:08Speaker 1: big romcom reference right there, that one. So in this
- 43:12Speaker 1: we're all familiar with say anything, right, like the the
- 43:14Speaker 1: boombox above the heads, all that stuff. So in this game,
- 43:19Speaker 1: I will start reading clues to a specific romantic comedy
- 43:22Speaker 1: to one member from each team. As soon as they
- 43:25Speaker 1: know the answer without saying their answer. That player must
- 43:28Speaker 1: scavenge their dwelling for an item that represents that film.
- 43:31Speaker 1: I'll give a point to whoever returns first with a
- 43:33Speaker 1: relevant item above their heads. And when you return, when
- 43:38Speaker 1: you're both back, i'd like you to say anything to
- 43:41Speaker 1: justify your choice and how it connects to the movie,
- 43:44Speaker 1: and if I believe you, it'll be worth a point.
- 43:47Speaker 1: Any questions about this one, I know it involves movement,
- 43:50Speaker 1: Be safe, don't trip over anything, all that good stuff.
- 43:53Speaker 6: I'll do.
- 43:55Speaker 1: I'll do my best, okay, and yeah, remember to leave
- 43:59Speaker 1: as soon as you know the answer, because the clues
- 44:01Speaker 1: can be quite quite long. So this first one is
- 44:04Speaker 1: going to be for Audra and Chris, so you're going
- 44:06Speaker 1: to be racing against each other. Here is your first clue.
- 44:10Speaker 1: Inspired by a nineteen thirty seven Hungarian play, this film
- 44:15Speaker 1: by Nora Efron sees two chat room lovers discovered that
- 44:18Speaker 1: they are in fact business rivals, with its title referencing
- 44:23Speaker 1: AOL chat. This nineteen ninety eight film is the third
- 44:26Speaker 1: pairing of Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan on screen, and
- 44:30Speaker 1: they've both left.
- 44:32Speaker 6: All right, you got to do it in camera, dude.
- 44:37Speaker 6: She was doing it to me, looking at me, and
- 44:39Speaker 6: I was like, yeah, they.
- 44:40Speaker 5: Can't see you.
- 44:41Speaker 3: I'm I'm just a boy standing here with a thing
- 44:45Speaker 3: above his head. Yeah.
- 44:48Speaker 1: Audra's also here now with something above her head. And
- 44:51Speaker 1: I think Chris gets the point for being back first. Chris,
- 44:55Speaker 1: what have you got above your head?
- 44:56Speaker 3: There? I've got a laptop for You've got mail? Yeah,
- 45:00Speaker 3: this is where you type things and emails.
- 45:04Speaker 6: That's also what they were using, was laptops.
- 45:06Speaker 3: Yeah, well she was, Oh no he was laptop. Yeah,
- 45:10Speaker 3: they both yeah, they both did.
- 45:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 45:11Speaker 4: I get fun fact about it. If you don't mind,
- 45:13Speaker 4: I don't want to like, yeah, please do so. Kevin Faigey,
- 45:17Speaker 4: who runs Marvel MCU his second job in Hollywood was
- 45:21Speaker 4: a pa on You've Got Mail, and his whole job
- 45:23Speaker 4: was teaching Meg Ryan how to use a computer because
- 45:25Speaker 4: it was her first computer.
- 45:26Speaker 3: Ever. That's wild. What a resume off the Marvel stuff.
- 45:36Speaker 6: I would I would start with that.
- 45:41Speaker 1: Okay, and Oldra, you I saw you had some of
- 45:43Speaker 1: your head as well. Mail above my head.
- 45:45Speaker 2: Okay, class if we were going that route, I could
- 45:47Speaker 2: have just my phone is right here.
- 45:50Speaker 4: You went the shop around the corner route, which was letters.
- 45:53Speaker 4: It was mail the original.
- 45:54Speaker 5: Yes, yes, and.
- 45:56Speaker 3: That's why I'm going to put you out of business. Audra.
- 46:00Speaker 1: Okay, I love it. You brought the analog version the
- 46:05Speaker 1: l chat.
- 46:07Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean we're gonna we're going to swap chairs.
- 46:10Speaker 6: One is a little easier to get out of.
- 46:12Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I understand that no.
- 46:17Speaker 6: Difference is aggressive.
- 46:22Speaker 1: I could just be for this round if you want.
- 46:25Speaker 3: No, I like it. Like this.
- 46:26Speaker 6: Actually it is more realistic to the difference.
- 46:30Speaker 3: Yeah, this is more accurate for for all you Patreon watchers.
- 46:35Speaker 3: This is what me and this is close throughout me
- 46:37Speaker 3: in general.
- 46:37Speaker 6: I can really is six four. I'm for ten. You
- 46:40Speaker 6: do the math.
- 46:41Speaker 1: There's going to be a rom com in that, right
- 46:43Speaker 1: if they haven't done a height disparacy rom com.
- 46:45Speaker 3: Other than Twins. But call the Rock, Yeah, I call
- 46:48Speaker 3: the Rock. Yeah, he's got he's got time. Yeah. Red
- 46:53Speaker 3: One didn't do too well. He'll be he'll be friend.
- 46:56Speaker 3: I hope he's Okay.
- 46:56Speaker 1: You know it's fine. Okay, Jen, Neil, are you ready
- 47:02Speaker 1: to scavenge?
- 47:03Speaker 3: Yes?
- 47:04Speaker 1: Yes, Okay, here is your clue. This film was the
- 47:08Speaker 1: directorial debut for a legendary writer of comedy and coming
- 47:12Speaker 1: of age movies. It also launched the careers of both
- 47:15Speaker 1: Molly Ringwold and Anthony Michael Hall fall Out Boy would
- 47:19Speaker 1: like a little less of this nineteen eighty four film
- 47:22Speaker 1: and a little more Touch Me, which is very forward
- 47:24Speaker 1: and rude. I wonder if this film is still rude.
- 47:27Speaker 1: I wonder if for age as well.
- 47:28Speaker 6: Nice.
- 47:30Speaker 1: We have Neil who has returned with an item above
- 47:33Speaker 1: his head.
- 47:34Speaker 3: I have two, but I guess I can only do one.
- 47:36Speaker 3: So you're a lad to you.
- 47:38Speaker 1: We can say too, Okay, all right, okay, So that's
- 47:44Speaker 1: definitely going to be the points in Neil for being first.
- 47:45Speaker 1: But Neil, would you like to describe the two items
- 47:48Speaker 1: that you have above your head?
- 47:49Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 47:50Speaker 4: So the first is a book? By someone named Kevin Smokeler.
- 47:52Speaker 4: It's called Brett Peck America, a love letter to eighties
- 47:55Speaker 4: teen movies, which includes a chapter on sixteen candles, the
- 48:00Speaker 4: home in question, and also a laser disc of career opportunities.
- 48:04Speaker 4: Probably the first roundcome I watched and had a crush
- 48:06Speaker 4: on Jennifer Connolly, written by John Hughes, who also was mentioned.
- 48:09Speaker 4: So those are my two items.
- 48:10Speaker 1: Perfect, Yes, definitely a point for a correct item. That
- 48:14Speaker 1: sixteen candles was indeed the movie in question. Ten's back
- 48:18Speaker 1: and Jenny's back.
- 48:19Speaker 6: I was already back. I couldn't put sixteen candles in
- 48:22Speaker 6: my hands.
- 48:23Speaker 1: Here's three nice and that's just about above your head.
- 48:27Speaker 6: That's safety My candle drawers right here. So I was
- 48:33Speaker 6: trying to rummage without making a lot of.
- 48:36Speaker 3: Yes, brought them in fully lit by the way.
- 48:40Speaker 5: House dedication.
- 48:45Speaker 1: Oh yeah, absolutely, Jenna is sixteen candles, and look it's
- 48:49Speaker 1: not sixteen, but it's some candles.
- 48:50Speaker 6: In that count some it's the it's the sequel, it's
- 48:55Speaker 6: some cans or the prequel. And then we got to sixteen.
- 49:00Speaker 1: Yes, okay, do you guys want to do another scavenger hunt?
- 49:05Speaker 1: H yeah, scavenging sweet I'm down for it. I like
- 49:08Speaker 1: it because I get to just stay here and have
- 49:10Speaker 1: and I sit down. Okay, this we are back to
- 49:13Speaker 1: Audra and Chris again for this one. Here is your
- 49:16Speaker 1: next clue. This fantasy comedy, which mercifully doesn't feature the
- 49:20Speaker 1: face of its disgraced director, sees Owen Wilson step back
- 49:24Speaker 1: in time to visit with creative icons from the early
- 49:27Speaker 1: twentieth century the whole time. This pretentious neurotic you know what,
- 49:32Speaker 1: come to think of it, It's clearly a self insert
- 49:34Speaker 1: from old Woody.
- 49:35Speaker 2: There.
- 49:36Speaker 3: Wow, it's one of my favorites.
- 49:39Speaker 1: Here's a really good film.
- 49:41Speaker 3: Especially for the reason you mentioned at the time.
- 49:47Speaker 6: That was so quick, Adre.
- 49:49Speaker 1: Yeah, it's going to be the point for speed.
- 49:51Speaker 4: I was hoping you were going to ask you've got mail,
- 49:53Speaker 4: possibly because I have a za Bar's bag where they
- 49:56Speaker 4: they filmed the last miles of New York a couple
- 49:58Speaker 4: of weeks ago, and I was going to bring that
- 49:59Speaker 4: in but and say happy Thanksgiving back, but we didn't
- 50:01Speaker 4: have to do that.
- 50:02Speaker 1: That's okay.
- 50:03Speaker 2: So this is an envelope. It technically is a male
- 50:07Speaker 2: that I could yeah and put above my head and is.
- 50:13Speaker 1: So ready and there is Chris backward that I am.
- 50:17Speaker 1: So we'll start with ultra what did what did you bring?
- 50:18Speaker 1: Describe your item?
- 50:20Speaker 2: So this is an illustration of La Pitit Prance, a
- 50:28Speaker 2: book by Antoine des Osbury.
- 50:33Speaker 1: Yeah, we'll fix it post if not.
- 50:35Speaker 2: Yeah, I haven't taken French in I don't know, fifteen years,
- 50:41Speaker 2: but this is a letter that features that French illustration
- 50:48Speaker 2: Midnight in Paris. I can't remember the format. I'm just
- 50:54Speaker 2: so high on the fact that I got this so quickly.
- 50:57Speaker 1: Yes you did, and you got a point for being
- 50:59Speaker 1: the fastest, and that's linked enough to Midnight in Paris
- 51:02Speaker 1: for for my liking. Chris, I think you also knew
- 51:05Speaker 1: the movie as well, if we're playing on cultural stereotypes, Yes.
- 51:09Speaker 3: I did. I also haven't seen this movie. I was
- 51:15Speaker 3: looking for my you know, autographed what he aled in pictures?
- 51:20Speaker 3: You know, he hated hate to see it. So I
- 51:23Speaker 3: got vermouth defonse. Yeah, just some French for mood. That's
- 51:30Speaker 3: the only we don't have a lot of French things
- 51:33Speaker 3: in our house. Considered bread. Is that the vermouth that
- 51:38Speaker 3: when you drink it it judges you. Yeah, yeah, that's
- 51:41Speaker 3: why it's almost full. I don't need that in my
- 51:46Speaker 3: own house. Pay for it, but I'm not gonna use it.
- 51:51Speaker 1: Oh good stuff. Yeah, points for the correct answer that Chris.
- 51:54Speaker 1: You knew it was midnight in Paris, you knew we
- 51:56Speaker 1: were talking. And Neil, as you mentioned it is. It's
- 51:58Speaker 1: one of the Woody Island movies that still be enjoyed.
- 52:01Speaker 3: Yeah, nowhere to be found. So that's great.
- 52:04Speaker 1: Yeah, you can't see his face. Okay, we're going to
- 52:07Speaker 1: have one more scavenger hunt. We're going to go back
- 52:09Speaker 1: to Neil and Jen for this one. Gen. Do you
- 52:11Speaker 1: want to swap seats or.
- 52:13Speaker 6: I've got some good I got some good clearance.
- 52:16Speaker 1: Okay, good to know. Okay, here is your clue. This
- 52:20Speaker 1: early two thousand's rom Com grossed three hundred and seventy
- 52:24Speaker 1: million dollars on a five million dollar budget and was
- 52:27Speaker 1: one of the first films to address the lives of
- 52:29Speaker 1: a particular European cultural identity in America. How would you
- 52:34Speaker 1: react if your daughter brought brought home and Ian Miller there,
- 52:40Speaker 1: it is a matrimonial celebration.
- 52:42Speaker 6: Shut my head.
- 52:43Speaker 1: Oh, I think that was it. I think that was
- 52:46Speaker 1: a dead time.
- 52:47Speaker 2: I'd argue Jen because she put it over her head.
- 52:50Speaker 3: Before she did. Yes, okay, and this.
- 52:52Speaker 5: Is coming from someone not on her team.
- 52:55Speaker 4: We agree.
- 52:56Speaker 6: I agree you made us on our team as a
- 52:59Speaker 6: couple for a reason. So I am using my own
- 53:02Speaker 6: wedding ring. Oh nice, big factory wedding.
- 53:06Speaker 1: Nice, there we go, wedding wedding ring. It connects. I
- 53:09Speaker 1: love it. Neil, well did you bring Yeah.
- 53:13Speaker 4: So I I brought a gift from my wife's best friend.
- 53:16Speaker 4: It's a drawing of our wedding venue. It says Tivoli
- 53:20Speaker 4: Theater Happily ever After in our wedding date.
- 53:23Speaker 2: Cute.
- 53:24Speaker 5: We have a drawing of our.
- 53:25Speaker 4: Locations too, I wish I had. I don't wear jewelry,
- 53:30Speaker 4: so I don't have a wedding ring, which I know
- 53:31Speaker 4: is probably bad. I'll be able to get a tattoo,
- 53:33Speaker 4: but but yeah, I couldn't do it. It was so smart.
- 53:36Speaker 6: I was like, wait a second, I have it on me.
- 53:41Speaker 2: Honestly, if you couldn't get it off your finger, then
- 53:43Speaker 2: that even word.
- 53:47Speaker 6: Topical reference.
- 53:48Speaker 3: That was again called to go for the ring because
- 53:49Speaker 3: we have about as many Greek things as we do.
- 53:51Speaker 2: Uh.
- 53:51Speaker 5: Fridge, Oh, I.
- 53:55Speaker 6: Have something light blue in the fridge.
- 54:00Speaker 1: Oh excellent, all right, that is the end of the round.
- 54:03Speaker 1: Good scavenging players. I loved seeing all of your items.
- 54:06Speaker 1: It's very good. Let's look at the scores. I wish
- 54:10Speaker 1: we could ask Nora Efron to type the latest scores.
- 54:13Speaker 1: That would be nice. I think if you were around today,
- 54:14Speaker 1: I think like Nora Efron typing ASMR would be a thing.
- 54:18Speaker 4: I feel like love that mechanical keyboard.
- 54:22Speaker 5: Step four profit business.
- 54:27Speaker 1: Okay, those scores are four rounds are on twelve points
- 54:30Speaker 1: and six bees. You've got some points. Now you're on
- 54:33Speaker 1: seven points.
- 54:34Speaker 6: Hey, yes, points, we're getting there.
- 54:37Speaker 1: Nice. Okay. Round three coming up after these commercials, and
- 54:41Speaker 1: if you want to keep the rom com vibe going,
- 54:43Speaker 1: just chip some of the companies with each other. I
- 54:46Speaker 1: guess capitalism can be cute, can't it. Okay? Round three
- 54:55Speaker 1: is called Answers in the comments. It's our game where
- 54:58Speaker 1: we journey into one of the wors places in the
- 55:00Speaker 1: world digital or otherwise the YouTube comments section. In this game,
- 55:05Speaker 1: I will begin reading a genuine comment one hundred percent
- 55:09Speaker 1: reel left below a key scene from a romantic comedy.
- 55:13Speaker 1: As soon as our players think they can name the
- 55:15Speaker 1: film and describe the scene, they must yell stop the wedding.
- 55:21Speaker 1: I'll stop reading the comments and they can make their guess.
- 55:24Speaker 1: The less you need to hear, the more points you'll score.
- 55:27Speaker 1: But each player can only stop the wedding wants per comment.
- 55:31Speaker 1: If you want to take a gamble, one of you
- 55:33Speaker 1: can do it early and then your team still has
- 55:34Speaker 1: one one guess.
- 55:36Speaker 3: Uh.
- 55:37Speaker 1: Just interrupt me at any point with stop the wedding.
- 55:39Speaker 1: I want to hear some stop the weddings. It's the
- 55:41Speaker 1: classic rum comping classic. Okay. This first YouTube comment comes
- 55:46Speaker 1: from user It's Wine o'clock and they had to say
- 55:50Speaker 1: this is weird to me. Honestly, he doesn't have the
- 55:54Speaker 1: right to destroy their lives like that, their hypothetical lives.
- 55:57Speaker 1: Of course this is fiction.
- 55:59Speaker 3: Ha ha.
- 56:00Speaker 1: Sure he spoke his truth, but in doing that he
- 56:03Speaker 1: dumped that burden onto them. I think it weird that
- 56:07Speaker 1: he backstabs his friend like that and she cheats on
- 56:10Speaker 1: her husband, especially at Christmas. This will never be romantic
- 56:14Speaker 1: to me and she lies opd did nope?
- 56:19Speaker 3: She wedding? Yeah?
- 56:20Speaker 4: Yes, pil Is this the Q card scene from Love
- 56:24Speaker 4: Actually where he plays Silent Night and kesk Kurtz Yep?
- 56:29Speaker 1: It is indeed for two points that is the exact scene.
- 56:33Speaker 2: I was thinking that I didn't have the courage. I'm
- 56:35Speaker 2: glad you did.
- 56:37Speaker 4: I was like, I was like seventy seventy thirty and
- 56:40Speaker 4: I was like, oh, whatever else, go for it? Why not?
- 56:43Speaker 1: Yeah, that's often the best way with this with this round,
- 56:45Speaker 1: to be honest, sometimes just buzzing in Ellie, especially as
- 56:48Speaker 1: each team has two two buzzies.
- 56:51Speaker 5: I'll be bold. I don't want to promise that.
- 56:56Speaker 3: Odra Villain era.
- 57:00Speaker 5: I'm doing it.
- 57:03Speaker 1: Okay. Your next YouTube comment comes from user movie Pod
- 57:07Speaker 1: three five nine, and they had to say everyone in
- 57:11Speaker 1: this scene is fantastic, even Whitney, who perfectly plays the snooty,
- 57:16Speaker 1: fake friendly sales associate, including her attempt at hiding her
- 57:20Speaker 1: disgusted at having to deal with people who she viewses
- 57:23Speaker 1: less than desirable customers, but still wanting to.
- 57:26Speaker 5: Stop's the wedding, Yes, dra is this.
- 57:31Speaker 2: Pretty woman where she won't get sold anything in the store.
- 57:35Speaker 1: It's not you've fallen for my track. Dang it, you're
- 57:38Speaker 1: frozen out, keep going but still wanting that sale. I'm
- 57:42Speaker 1: not usually one for potty humor, but I absolutely lost
- 57:46Speaker 1: it when she said sinks are gonna It's coming out
- 57:49Speaker 1: lava shot.
- 57:52Speaker 4: Yes, Neil, I believe this is Bridesmaids where Mliss McCarthy
- 57:58Speaker 4: is blown out the sink.
- 57:59Speaker 1: Yeah, that's exactly. It's the.
- 58:03Speaker 3: I was trying to think of a better way to
- 58:04Speaker 3: put it.
- 58:04Speaker 6: You know.
- 58:05Speaker 3: It wasn't the sock or the sperm sock, whatever we're
- 58:07Speaker 3: calling it.
- 58:08Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, so good.
- 58:11Speaker 3: That entire time, I was like, is this the scene
- 58:13Speaker 3: in Bridesmaids where she's like arguing with that teen clerk
- 58:16Speaker 3: And I was like, no, that doesn't make any sense.
- 58:17Speaker 3: I ask you something else. It was Bridesmaids. The whole time.
- 58:22Speaker 3: I had the exact same thing in my head. I
- 58:24Speaker 3: think that's what it is.
- 58:26Speaker 1: And thank you for I was just kind of hoping
- 58:28Speaker 1: it would sound your problem. That's just that's just playing
- 58:31Speaker 1: into the fall Nat. It's good stuff.
- 58:32Speaker 5: You No, I'm just doing my part.
- 58:35Speaker 1: Okay, This next YouTube comment comes from sarcasm much and
- 58:40Speaker 1: they had to say, first of all, she's cool. She
- 58:43Speaker 1: probably does know the cooks in the kitchen at a
- 58:46Speaker 1: random vegan restaurant, but what part of the movie seemed realistic?
- 58:52Speaker 1: Oh my goodness, Yes.
- 58:53Speaker 6: Jair I may have played into something, but is it
- 58:55Speaker 6: how to lose a guy in ten Days when she's
- 58:57Speaker 6: in the vegan restaurant and she is trying to get
- 59:01Speaker 6: him to obviously lose him, but she's watching the basketball game,
- 59:05Speaker 6: so she runs in the back and she slams a
- 59:08Speaker 6: bowl or no, she says a burger, and she watches
- 59:11Speaker 6: the game in the back. Yeah, she has to play
- 59:12Speaker 6: off that she didn't see the basketball game when they
- 59:14Speaker 6: went home and watched it later. I could do the
- 59:17Speaker 6: whole movie.
- 59:19Speaker 1: And it was such an early buzz in that's full points.
- 59:22Speaker 6: Hell yeah, oh my gosh, we're not.
- 59:25Speaker 3: But the waitress he called me fat, Yes, yea.
- 59:30Speaker 6: Fat?
- 59:31Speaker 1: Oh yeah, great stuff, great knowledge, just and it just
- 59:35Speaker 1: needed to hear a vegan restaurant and that's it. Oh yeah, Okay,
- 59:40Speaker 1: I've just realized I didn't actually write a fake. Use
- 59:42Speaker 1: the name for that one for this next one. What's
- 59:44Speaker 1: a fun fake?
- 59:45Speaker 6: Use the name for a fifty Flirts dates.
- 59:48Speaker 1: I love it.
- 59:48Speaker 3: We're gonna use that love it six at the end,
- 59:53Speaker 3: what require they're gonna be listening like, why did they
- 59:57Speaker 3: call me out? Man?
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: Okay? This next one comes from user fifty flirt States
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: sixty nine twenty and they had to say incredible I
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: recently had a memorable encounter with him through Radiant Reservation
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: after seeing his interview on Entertainment News where he talked
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: about engaging with fans via an exclusive fan community. I
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: never imagined i'd be part of it. The way the
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: slow motion music happens when he walks into the restaurant
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: is just like meeting him in Rolin.
- 1:00:33Speaker 5: Oh my gosh, stop the wedding.
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: Yes, I think that this is always be my maybe
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: when Keanu Reeves, like his entrance scene when he's like
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: with them, when they're like at the table and she's like,
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: this is my day.
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: Yeah, it's two points.
- 1:00:51Speaker 6: Yeah, that's movie as well.
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: So good.
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: Yeah you said him entering the room and all I
- 1:01:01Speaker 3: could see was air Igorn entering helm Steed all when
- 1:01:06Speaker 3: and I blacked.
- 1:01:07Speaker 4: Out, and keanner Reeves broke as toking a helmet too.
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: And I'll.
- 1:01:13Speaker 5: Dedicated to the role absolutely.
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: I can't tell you, Neil how that's the perfect job
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: for this audience.
- 1:01:21Speaker 4: I told you, I've been listening, so I know you
- 1:01:23Speaker 4: trying to play into their hands.
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: It's perfect stuff. Yeah, And I assume the person who
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: wrote this comment represents Radiant Reservation because it just reads
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: like ad Coffin. Yeah, okay, I've got one final YouTube comments.
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: This comes from Loyal Sons sixty nine, and here's what
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: they had to say. There's something about this film that
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: will always make me think of my family. I saw
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: this in the theater in the summer of nineteen eighty
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: nine with my mother and my aunt. I was fifteen
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: at the time and didn't understand at the time that
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: they weren't just rolling with laughter because of Meg Ryan's
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: hilarious reaction, but because they also yes, thank you for
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: stopping me reading that sentence, Neil.
- 1:02:04Speaker 4: I'm gonna I mean eighty nine. Yeah, we're gonna go
- 1:02:07Speaker 4: with when Harry met Sally during Katz's Delicatessen, faking the
- 1:02:11Speaker 4: the you know, the Pshtrami enjoyment.
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: Yes, that's an accurate description and it's it's worth a point.
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: And I didn't have to finish that comment, which is
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: because they had also faked it too. I miss you mom.
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: Oh and YouTube comments also.
- 1:02:32Speaker 3: The eulogy Mom used to fake it and that's why.
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: Oh wow. Yeah, let's let's leave YouTube behind. That is
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: the end of round three. Let's exchange a bouquet of
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: flowers for the latest scores, good trade. Four rounds. You
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: are on eighteen points six be's you were on eleven points.
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: Hey, we broke two digits, double digits.
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: Baby, you did it. You did it.
- 1:02:59Speaker 6: As Taylors would say, I'm here on vibes, it's about
- 1:03:03Speaker 6: I'm the personality higher here for the jokes.
- 1:03:07Speaker 5: It's a podcast, shut up, more important than the rest
- 1:03:10Speaker 5: of us.
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: Jen, could I can I check in with your vibes?
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: Being the undefeated person on this podcast, how are you
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: feeling right now?
- 1:03:19Speaker 6: I mean, I hadn't gotten a loss this year, so
- 1:03:22Speaker 6: I've I've won one, tied twice. I hadn't any losses,
- 1:03:25Speaker 6: and honestly, like, what a what a frick and honor
- 1:03:29Speaker 6: to lose it to an expert and my best friends.
- 1:03:33Speaker 6: So like, I'm fine, friends are feeling it.
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: Oh, lovely stuff. But look, anyone could still win. Absolutely
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: anything can happen in the quick fire around. But before
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: we get to the quick fire rounds, let's talk prizes.
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: This episode. Star prize is, of course, the concept of love,
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: a fine concept, probably the best humanity has to offer.
- 1:04:02Speaker 5: I reckon, Yeah, yeah, probably.
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: But our winning team will also receive as many candles
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: as Jen can carry from the Scavenger.
- 1:04:09Speaker 5: Hunts three three.
- 1:04:13Speaker 6: They're used.
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: Up.
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: Next is our crucial quick fire around, But first we
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: have to play one final set of ADS. And while
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: we're gone, remember there's still time to send them that message.
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: It's not too late unless they've asked you to stop,
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: and then just stop it is too late. Our final
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: quick fire around will test your broader pop culture knowledge,
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: and it's called CD rom coms. Rom coms were huge
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: in the late nineties and early two thousands, but so
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: were CD ROMs back when we were all PC gamers. Yes,
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: in this game, I will give our players clues to
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: an iconic CD rom from pop culture history. Don't worry,
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: you'll recognize more than you think I reckon, and those
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: clues will be in the style of Julia Roberts iconic
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: line in notting Hill, I'm just a girl standing in
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: front of a boy asking him to love her. There is,
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: of course a classic gate leaper's twist. You need to
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: say your answer in a sort of befuddled British way,
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: like how you grant would. Whatever the name of the
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: classic PC game is, I would like you to deliver
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: it in your best befuddled voice.
- 1:05:27Speaker 5: Well, that's not going to be hard for me.
- 1:05:29Speaker 6: That's basically how answers all of them.
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: There we go, I think, but a little British twang
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: on it will be be all good.
- 1:05:38Speaker 3: I'll try so are we? Is this? Is this your
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: permission to do our best worst British accents? Yeah?
- 1:05:46Speaker 6: What if I just say fish and chips at the
- 1:05:48Speaker 6: end of.
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: Everything, That's that's fine. I fish and chips are delicious
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: and it was in it all right the Southerner stuff.
- 1:05:57Speaker 3: Come on?
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: Yeah, it is quick fire. So you you buzz in
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: by yelling out your team name? Should we practice that?
- 1:06:06Speaker 5: Eight rounds?
- 1:06:07Speaker 3: Four rounds?
- 1:06:08Speaker 5: I'm doing the shortened version.
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: Nice, okay, twelve rounds the John movie.
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: Sorry?
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:06:15Speaker 6: I also keep thinking do we want to do number
- 1:06:19Speaker 6: and things like you guys, are four rounds or six bees?
- 1:06:22Speaker 6: Or do you want to do rounds and bees for syllables?
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: Even rounds versus bees?
- 1:06:27Speaker 6: Rounds versus bees.
- 1:06:28Speaker 5: I'm down east.
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: It's the classic show down.
- 1:06:32Speaker 6: Rownds versus bees tails? What is time?
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: I'll give you an example, just so we know we're
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: on the same page here. I'm just a girl standing
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: in front of potential suspects and motives trying to solve
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: this small town mystery.
- 1:06:46Speaker 2: Oh good, I don't know, yes, Nanzi Drew gov No, yep,
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: it is Nazi Drew.
- 1:06:57Speaker 5: Okay, okay, trying to go as I like to.
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: I'm not going to comment on the accidents washing.
- 1:07:03Speaker 6: I like the arms.
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: It was very like Dick Van Dyke, right like.
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: Honestly, I think that's who I was channeling in that moment.
- 1:07:14Speaker 3: The shoulders, the more the cockney. You know, that's just
- 1:07:17Speaker 3: the rule apple.
- 1:07:19Speaker 4: And that's why cockney people never get pneumonia because their
- 1:07:23Speaker 4: arms are always up right there.
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: Their ribs are really high.
- 1:07:26Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: Oh, it's like sixty years and that stereotype is not
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: being shaken at all. That's who English people are.
- 1:07:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: Okay, you can interrupt me at any points. I'll start
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: the timer. Let's go. I'm just a girl standing somewhere
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: on earth.
- 1:07:44Speaker 3: Yes, Chris Well, I guess I think it would most
- 1:07:49Speaker 3: likely be where in the world is common San Diego.
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: Yeah, that's exactly good.
- 1:07:54Speaker 3: Good.
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: I'm just a theme park owner standing in a theme park. Yes,
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: roller coaster, tyco It almost sounded confident that guy, but
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: I'm still going to give you it.
- 1:08:10Speaker 5: It's a whisper.
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: Next clue, I'm just a space marine standing with the
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: demons of Hell shooting.
- 1:08:20Speaker 3: Yes, Chris, I think down in Hell most likely be doom.
- 1:08:27Speaker 3: Is doom good for fun?
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: I'm just a psychopath standing in front of a pool,
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: ready to remove the ladder and kill these people with
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: diamonds heads.
- 1:08:36Speaker 3: Yes, Chris, I suppose this one would be Sims.
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: Of course, it's not to sound more English than me.
- 1:08:46Speaker 3: I'm so bad at games, Audre. I apologize.
- 1:08:49Speaker 5: I'm trying my best. It's good we got such a
- 1:08:51Speaker 5: good lead.
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: This is actually going to be tense now because.
- 1:08:55Speaker 3: I literally didn't get a single point like this entire
- 1:08:58Speaker 3: game till now here. It is.
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: Here we go.
- 1:09:03Speaker 5: This is your time.
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: I'm just a differences like a bath standing above an
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: urban sprawl, looking to properly place my infrastructure.
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: Oh why don't Yes, I'm trying to think of a
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: different style of British accent to do every time.
- 1:09:22Speaker 5: Well, they I think this is.
- 1:09:25Speaker 2: Maybe silizations.
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: It's not what I've got for this one.
- 1:09:32Speaker 4: Now Essex over now, Yeah, no.
- 1:09:39Speaker 5: City.
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: I was looking for sim City for that one. I'm
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: just a paladin standing in front of the Horde, wondering
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: if you'll join my guild and raid with meeze. I
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: heard order first. I think I'll stick.
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: With I'll stick with these because it made people laugh. Yeah,
- 1:10:02Speaker 2: maybe like I never played it, but World of Warcraft
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: is World of Warcraft.
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, good stuff. I'm just a dad standing behind
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: all of my extra PC plugins pretending I'm piloting an aeroplane.
- 1:10:19Speaker 3: Rounds.
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: Yes, Neil, what.
- 1:10:21Speaker 4: Would you say if we went to the market and
- 1:10:24Speaker 4: played flight simulator.
- 1:10:28Speaker 6: That was so good? Yes?
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: Yes, yes, just Essex taking over this podcast admired me.
- 1:10:36Speaker 3: So that's what we're a team. We gotta be Essex.
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: Yes, I'm just sid Maya standing all of human history
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: requesting that you live through multiple generations of your family lineage.
- 1:10:47Speaker 5: Rounds.
- 1:10:48Speaker 7: Yes, okay, good, this one is it. That wasn't the
- 1:10:54Speaker 7: fuddle though, if you do want to add me for that,
- 1:10:56Speaker 7: I would accept it. It was more enrage.
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: It's okay. I think we lost the whole bit fuddled.
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: Hugh Grant thing around about question two. Next one. I'm
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: just a player exploring an island full of mysteries, begging
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: you to leave me alone and leave me to my
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: logic puzzles get a little trickier.
- 1:11:12Speaker 5: Now, island an island. I think I might know this.
- 1:11:16Speaker 6: One jump in.
- 1:11:19Speaker 3: My dad didn't let me play these games. She said
- 1:11:22Speaker 3: it was going to ruin our computers. So rounds. Yes,
- 1:11:27Speaker 3: soldre oh, I'll try. I don't know how to do
- 1:11:30Speaker 3: a bufuddled Hugh Grant, but because you mentioned it, I want.
- 1:11:33Speaker 5: I can't do that.
- 1:11:37Speaker 3: A second. Yeah, just like you.
- 1:11:39Speaker 5: I never I don't know. Maybe it's like a missed.
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: It is missed. Yeah, it is missed.
- 1:11:48Speaker 3: Job.
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: I'm just a fay Rune citizen standing in front of
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: the prequel to twenty twenty three's Game of the Year. Yes, christ,
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: I suppose this would be ballus skating. Correct, it is
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: Colders Gates. It's the best to you, Grands, it doesn't matter.
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: I'm going to give you a point for you a
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: Hugh Grant.
- 1:12:10Speaker 3: As the prime minister.
- 1:12:11Speaker 4: I suppose I was gonna you sound you're on only
- 1:12:14Speaker 4: a great prime minister who like just heard some really
- 1:12:16Speaker 4: bad news like aliens are coming, but you're trying to
- 1:12:18Speaker 4: be like civil about.
- 1:12:19Speaker 5: It, ride and keep it together.
- 1:12:22Speaker 3: Well, I hate it is, but I believe we lost Scotland.
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: I'm just a hungry tree trunk standing in front of
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: a bunch of little Blue guys asking them to make
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: me a pizza.
- 1:12:37Speaker 3: Bees. Yes it's you, Yes, it's you.
- 1:12:41Speaker 6: That is just the Cards against Humanity card.
- 1:12:43Speaker 5: That's bees question.
- 1:12:46Speaker 6: Oh, I don't know. I was just going to assume smurfs.
- 1:12:50Speaker 3: This is what I was gonna say.
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: That's that is a good guess. But it's not. It's fiships.
- 1:12:57Speaker 3: And so on and chips, you know, mm hmm.
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: Anyone else did this one?
- 1:13:02Speaker 5: I do not have this one.
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: Did America have zoom Beanies? I remember it, zoom Beanies.
- 1:13:08Speaker 6: I remember this.
- 1:13:09Speaker 3: American is Okay, it sounds.
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: Must be a must be a European thing. Yeah huh,
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: all right, quick before the buzzer. I'm just a spell
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: sword standing in front of several beautiful sorcerers asking them
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: to fall in love with me, which is what these
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: games are really about. They're actually rom coms.
- 1:13:30Speaker 5: Rounds. Yes, if you're playing them like I do, I.
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: Would do you.
- 1:13:38Speaker 5: Playing playing.
- 1:13:42Speaker 4: Because I was going to just, you know, come in
- 1:13:44Speaker 4: and do a British action talking about leisure.
- 1:13:46Speaker 3: Shoot Larry, but I.
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: Yeah, I feel like based on the description, apart from
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: the magic, I would have had to give you the point.
- 1:13:54Speaker 6: Yeah, listen, the only CD ROMs we were allowed to
- 1:13:58Speaker 6: play in my house was legend of a deep cut
- 1:14:01Speaker 6: and Mario's teachers typing, So.
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: I almost put a Disney typing teacher in here, just
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: because how many copies of those very.
- 1:14:10Speaker 6: Mario taught me how to type.
- 1:14:13Speaker 4: It started with like, you know, get your keyboards ready when.
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: Here we go.
- 1:14:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:14:17Speaker 6: Yeah, and it was like the platformer, but you had
- 1:14:19Speaker 6: to type to like do the platforming that. Yeah, it
- 1:14:24Speaker 6: was really fun. It was an orange case.
- 1:14:26Speaker 3: I play that now. That sounds sick.
- 1:14:29Speaker 6: Tracy probably still has it somewhere.
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: All right. Before we get to the final scores, which
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: are definitely close and I'm definitely going to build tension
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: towards them, I'd like to thank our players. Look, you've lived,
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: you've left, You've left disgusting. Neil, thank you so much
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: for joining us for this this crazy round of quizing
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: and trivia.
- 1:15:01Speaker 4: Ah had an absolute blast. Thank you so much for
- 1:15:02Speaker 4: having me. Like I said, I'm a new fan, been
- 1:15:04Speaker 4: listening quite a bit recently, and yeah, it was just
- 1:15:08Speaker 4: so much fun to get to hang out with you
- 1:15:09Speaker 4: all and play and talk about rom comms. But more
- 1:15:12Speaker 4: than that, just to be a part of a small
- 1:15:14Speaker 4: community here and you.
- 1:15:16Speaker 3: Know have fun.
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: Oh thanks, that that means it's ton Yeah, you'd been
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: an excellent player, And that might be in part because
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: you are the author of this. I get to do
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: the thing that the Jimmy's do, hold a book. Yeah
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: that's pretty good. You are the author of this fantastic
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: rom com trivia book, which I absolutely love. I've been
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: playing along with some of it already.
- 1:15:35Speaker 3: I think.
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: My favorite thing about it, even though you are the
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: writer and so maybe I shouldn't praise the specific part
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: is the sketches are amazing. Who did you get to
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: do the sketches?
- 1:15:43Speaker 4: The publisher has a great group of artists, and this
- 1:15:48Speaker 4: artist has done actually all of their books except the
- 1:15:50Speaker 4: Christmas one I just released, but it's Mave Bargman is
- 1:15:54Speaker 4: the designer and the excuse me, Matt Edwards is also
- 1:15:58Speaker 4: the illustrator of the nice Yeah.
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: There's such fantastic illustrations. I love the rom com met Yeah.
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: Oh yes, as a as a thing, because that is
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: something I always think about, is like, this feels more
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: like a comedy than a romance. This feels way more
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: like a romance than a comedy.
- 1:16:14Speaker 4: I'm glad you noticed that, because that was a fun thing,
- 1:16:17Speaker 4: and I took a pull of everyone that I knew,
- 1:16:19Speaker 4: so it's kind of like user generated group generated what
- 1:16:22Speaker 4: everyone thought and everyone voted on it. So some of
- 1:16:24Speaker 4: them maybe were a little off, but that's what everyone
- 1:16:27Speaker 4: else thought, so I thought was kind of interesting.
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: Yeah, they felt pretty spot onto me, and that's an
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: excellent system. Yeah, it's look, we're on the roads to
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: Valentine's Day. This would be the perfect Valentine's Day gift,
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: I think.
- 1:16:38Speaker 4: Yes, yeah, I hope people play along. You can play
- 1:16:41Speaker 4: play with the book with yourself. I guess it's the
- 1:16:43Speaker 4: proper way to play with yourself. And yeah, there's some
- 1:16:47Speaker 4: fun movies in there. About twenty of them were cut,
- 1:16:49Speaker 4: so I'm hoping that we'll get a sequel and I
- 1:16:51Speaker 4: can include a couple movies like They Came Together was
- 1:16:54Speaker 4: one that I did write a quiz for, but it
- 1:16:55Speaker 4: was taken out of the books. Hopefully they'll be there
- 1:16:57Speaker 4: in the sequel with some other ones.
- 1:16:59Speaker 3: So fingers yes, nice, nice.
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: Yeah, we'll make sure Chris and Jen get a copy
