- 0:31Speaker 2: And I'm enjoyed with Jacob, a fellow gay.
- 0:37Speaker 1: I got the huh. It's only been a week, but
- 0:41Speaker 1: it feels like yours.
- 0:42Speaker 2: It has it has.
- 0:46Speaker 1: It's so rude.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Everyone's so mean to meet her in Pride Month, Like
- 0:50Speaker 2: what the fuck? My own boyfriend, my bestie, my bestie's hoe.
- 0:55Speaker 1: You're all mean to me, girl, like you aren't mean
- 0:58Speaker 1: to mean while it's like, like you aren't means. I mean,
- 1:06Speaker 1: I only give you love and love that's it, ladies
- 1:11Speaker 1: and jolemen. His love language is bullying.
- 1:14Speaker 2: To an extent, to an extent, but when I get it,
- 1:19Speaker 2: it's not fair. It's all of a sudden, there's something wrong.
- 1:21Speaker 2: It's only okay if I do it. Yeah, it's not
- 1:24Speaker 2: okay when someone does that back to me, and I'm like.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Oh, dare you?
- 1:29Speaker 2: If you look at a description beloial Seal link to
- 1:31Speaker 2: link tree that'll have all the podcasts who listen to
- 1:35Speaker 2: them all subscribe to the Patreon on that bunshit. So
- 1:38Speaker 2: today's episode is gonna be the last episode for five
- 1:41Speaker 2: month because I know it's June. It seemed of June, y'all,
- 1:48Speaker 2: it's hot. That's homophobic. Currently, at the time of this
- 1:52Speaker 2: posting of this episode, I will be in Florida, melting,
- 1:56Speaker 2: but also enjoying my time at Disney World and Universal
- 1:59Speaker 2: Studios during prim month. So cue me sweating up a
- 2:04Speaker 2: goddamn fucking storm, hating life until I step foot into
- 2:08Speaker 2: those parks and then everything's okay and I'm just a
- 2:11Speaker 2: good enjoy eight days of awesomeness, so.
- 2:16Speaker 1: And enjoy I gotta enjoy it because I was literally
- 2:19Speaker 1: just in Orlando at the beginning of the month, and
- 2:21Speaker 1: I was at I was at Disney, but I was
- 2:23Speaker 1: at Universal.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Now I get in the first day we're there on
- 2:26Speaker 2: that Sunday on the twenty first, because of the twentieth,
- 2:29Speaker 2: we're leaving. We're gonna be building lightsabers.
- 2:33Speaker 1: You lucky bitch. I bought a lawn from Universals here.
- 2:39Speaker 2: Oh my god, I'm told I totally want to do
- 2:41Speaker 2: that too. I totally want that too. I'm gonna do
- 2:43Speaker 2: that too, like I want the full yeah, the full
- 2:46Speaker 2: throttleful thing.
- 2:48Speaker 1: Next time I go to Orlando, I'm definitely going to
- 2:51Speaker 1: Disney World because, like I got my wand from the
- 2:54Speaker 1: Harry Potter experience, and they like you can either buy
- 2:58Speaker 1: like character wands like Harry, like Harry Ormione Snapes wand
- 3:02Speaker 1: but I'm like, no, I don't want any of their ones.
- 3:04Speaker 1: I want my own. And like if you go on
- 3:06Speaker 1: if you go to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter
- 3:09Speaker 1: World of Wizards or like Wizarding World website, uh and
- 3:12Speaker 1: take that test, it'll tell you like what kind of
- 3:14Speaker 1: wand you have, and like online, mine is like a
- 3:17Speaker 1: thirteen inch ebony wand with dragon heartstring core. Well they
- 3:22Speaker 1: didn't have that, like they have those kind of style
- 3:25Speaker 1: wands there where it's just like a custom wan and
- 3:27Speaker 1: it'll tell you like, oh, the kind of the type
- 3:29Speaker 1: of wood it's made out of, and what kind of
- 3:32Speaker 1: core it's supposed to have. Well, for some reason, like
- 3:35Speaker 1: they only have like a preset number of them, so
- 3:40Speaker 1: there's like about I think, like nine, like about nine
- 3:42Speaker 1: different types of them. And the only one that actually
- 3:45Speaker 1: had ebony want like like ebony was it ebony and
- 3:49Speaker 1: unicorn hair. So technically the one I bought is ebony
- 3:52Speaker 1: and unicorn hair. And I was like close enough, close enough,
- 3:57Speaker 1: close enough, and I like it. It's a cool style,
- 3:59Speaker 1: the one the style of want of bot was was
- 4:01Speaker 1: really cool.
- 4:01Speaker 2: How much How much was it?
- 4:03Speaker 1: Sixty bucks?
- 4:04Speaker 2: Oh good, Oh that's worth it.
- 4:10Speaker 1: That's Universal for you. So if you guys are planning
- 4:13Speaker 1: so for our listeners, if you're applying to go to
- 4:15Speaker 1: Universal or to uh to Disney last, that ship is expensive.
- 4:20Speaker 1: See I got I got. I lucked out because I
- 4:22Speaker 1: had friend. I have a friend in Orlando who has
- 4:24Speaker 1: connections in Universal Studio and managed to get us free
- 4:27Speaker 1: tickets and that's why I was able to enjoy it
- 4:31Speaker 1: for that day. But still, anything I wanted to buy
- 4:33Speaker 1: I had, I had to pay for and that was
- 4:35Speaker 1: like sixty bucks. So I was like, oh my god, goddamn.
- 4:40Speaker 1: I mean I got some because of this guy. I
- 4:41Speaker 1: got some free shit too, Like I got a bunch
- 4:43Speaker 1: of free ship, like a collectible like a collectible mug,
- 4:46Speaker 1: and a bunch of other stuff. So I had fun.
- 4:51Speaker 1: It was fun, okay, But if you're if you're not
- 4:54Speaker 1: like me and you don't have these kind of connections,
- 4:56Speaker 1: you expect to pay a lot, especially at disney World,
- 4:58Speaker 1: because Disney World is.
- 4:59Speaker 2: Wa Yeah, it is luckily the only thing we have
- 5:04Speaker 2: to pay for for this whole trip is just souvenirs.
- 5:07Speaker 2: That's literally it. Everything else is covered. We don't got paid,
- 5:12Speaker 2: ship up our pocket. The second we get on that plane,
- 5:15Speaker 2: my problems are not gonna be my problems. I'm gonna
- 5:17Speaker 2: be concentrating one on the trip. People that are not
- 5:21Speaker 2: talk to me about job searching and shit. I want
- 5:24Speaker 2: to hear none of that for those eight days until
- 5:26Speaker 2: I get off that airplane back in San Antonio. Someone
- 5:31Speaker 2: live it up.
- 5:33Speaker 1: You know, at this point, you and your brother, you
- 5:34Speaker 1: and your boyfriend are like, are both unemployed. You could
- 5:39Speaker 1: literally just stay in Orlando and just start and start
- 5:42Speaker 1: new lives there if you want it.
- 5:44Speaker 2: And live where and live where you figured it out
- 5:49Speaker 2: and live where.
- 5:50Speaker 1: No, you could be living that. You could be living
- 5:52Speaker 1: that basic white bitch dream you know where they like
- 5:54Speaker 1: literally just drop everything and move to a new place,
- 5:56Speaker 1: like you know, not a care in the world, like no, like,
- 5:59Speaker 1: no questions asked, no on what's gonna be questioning like
- 6:01Speaker 1: what with what money? Honey?
- 6:03Speaker 2: I wish I could live. I wish that could be me,
- 6:06Speaker 2: But I would not be doing that in a state
- 6:09Speaker 2: that is Florida. No, ma'am, no, ma'am, no, ma'am. Texas
- 6:14Speaker 2: is one thing. Florida is another. And I as a
- 6:18Speaker 2: Floridian born, born in Florida, I do have a love
- 6:22Speaker 2: for Florida in a sense, but never enough to live
- 6:26Speaker 2: there as up currently. I am good, I am good, Honey,
- 6:32Speaker 2: Florida is a hot fucking mess. I'm good.
- 6:36Speaker 1: It is just Also like, while I was in Florida
- 6:39Speaker 1: for like, I was only there for like technically, like
- 6:41Speaker 1: I was there for five days, but two of those
- 6:43Speaker 1: days we're traveling days, so you can't really count them.
- 6:45Speaker 1: But uh, the three full days that I was there, Saturday,
- 6:51Speaker 1: Sunday and Monday was stressful as hell because like because
- 6:55Speaker 1: of the driving. Like I have fun, but driving in
- 6:59Speaker 1: Florida is a fucking nightmare.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:01Speaker 1: And also Florida has a lot of toll roads, so
- 7:04Speaker 1: oftentimes you have no choice but to take a toll
- 7:08Speaker 1: road locally. For me, the rental car uh my mom
- 7:12Speaker 1: got for us had the the sun Pass, so like
- 7:16Speaker 1: you can you can get on the toll road whenever
- 7:18Speaker 1: you want, so we didn't have to worry about that.
- 7:20Speaker 1: But still people drive like fucking maniacs in Orlando and
- 7:24Speaker 1: in in Miami. Okay, speed limit do you think speed
- 7:28Speaker 1: limit is an option here like here in here, in Texas,
- 7:32Speaker 1: speed limit is just the guideline. Yeah, okay, in Florida,
- 7:36Speaker 1: speed limit an option.
- 7:38Speaker 2: She's not she's she doesn't exist.
- 7:42Speaker 1: Yeah, well, I lived in Orlando for two years, like
- 7:46Speaker 1: this was like ten years ago, like to I lived
- 7:48Speaker 1: there for two years when I was in college. And
- 7:51Speaker 1: one of the first things I learned about driving in
- 7:53Speaker 1: Florida and especially in Orlando, you don't make you do
- 7:57Speaker 1: not make full stops at stop signs, because if you do,
- 8:02Speaker 1: you will be cut off by everyone. Like you think
- 8:05Speaker 1: you have the right way. As soon as you make
- 8:06Speaker 1: a full stop, the person that like stopped after you
- 8:08Speaker 1: off to your left will immediately go Jesus. You literally
- 8:12Speaker 1: have to roll the stop sign. And if you stop
- 8:16Speaker 1: and there's someone behind you and you full stop, they
- 8:18Speaker 1: will drive around.
- 8:19Speaker 2: You backwards having meth health or down in the south
- 8:25Speaker 2: or down in the southern part beach goers.
- 8:29Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, you probably hear jokes about Florida man.
- 8:33Speaker 1: That is a regular occurrence.
- 8:35Speaker 2: Is a regular occurrence.
- 8:37Speaker 1: Like literally, the headlines would be about the dumbest ship
- 8:40Speaker 1: Florida people would get into, like Florida men especially o. Yeah.
- 8:45Speaker 1: Literally the first Within the first month of me living
- 8:48Speaker 1: in Orlando, there was a headline in my area, like
- 8:53Speaker 1: like the news, like was I've turned on the news
- 8:56Speaker 1: just cause, and the headline was Florida man lost pet cobra.
- 9:03Speaker 1: Florida man's pet cobra. Yeah, escaped for two days and
- 9:07Speaker 1: was found and was found in somebody else's dryer, like
- 9:13Speaker 1: it made it made its home and somebody's dryer. And
- 9:16Speaker 1: I found out later that that happened not that far
- 9:18Speaker 1: from where I lived, and I was like, I look,
- 9:20Speaker 1: I grabbed my fifteen pound dog, like.
- 9:23Speaker 2: There are people are people are crazy, people are like,
- 9:26Speaker 2: oh my god, I totally want to have a reptile
- 9:29Speaker 2: that can eat me fucking alive. Yeah, I totally want that.
- 9:33Speaker 2: Or oh my god, they're crocodiles. Are just sea puppies,
- 9:38Speaker 2: swamp puppies, swamp puppies. That's what they are, which is great,
- 9:41Speaker 2: and they're kind of I mean, I'm not gonna lie,
- 9:43Speaker 2: they're crocodiles. Is algais or crocodiles. I can't ever remember
- 9:47Speaker 2: we have crocodiles. We have the American crocodile. And no,
- 9:50Speaker 2: they're not fucking cute. So they're kind of cute. In
- 9:53Speaker 2: a weird, fucked up way. They're kind of cute.
- 9:56Speaker 1: No, for me, I'm cute. They were not cute usual
- 10:03Speaker 1: dinosaurs actually speaking, they look cool because they're they're fierce looking,
- 10:08Speaker 1: you know, because like American alligators can grow really fucking big.
- 10:11Speaker 2: Yeah, they're just mad dinosaurs.
- 10:12Speaker 1: It's fine. Yeah, well so are ostriches. But do you
- 10:16Speaker 1: see me trying to ride one.
- 10:18Speaker 2: Ostriches are and they're also kind of cute and of
- 10:22Speaker 2: really like, oh it's dumb all it's kind of drown
- 10:26Speaker 2: itself kind of way, you know. But no crocodiles are.
- 10:30Speaker 1: Under it's sticking its head in the sand. Okay.
- 10:32Speaker 2: And that's another thing. I don't want to live in
- 10:34Speaker 2: Florida because if I ever like, I don't want to
- 10:36Speaker 2: wake up one morning, look at my backyard. There's a crocodile.
- 10:39Speaker 2: I'm good, I'm good.
- 10:41Speaker 1: Surprising, well, surprisingly, I've not in uh my entire time
- 10:44Speaker 1: living there, I never once encountered a crocodile, like, had
- 10:47Speaker 1: an encounter with a crocodile. Though my apartment had a
- 10:50Speaker 1: water reservoir on its property, so I wouldn't I wouldn't
- 10:53Speaker 1: be surprised if there was a crocodile in.
- 10:54Speaker 2: There, probably because they walk around. They walk around like
- 10:59Speaker 2: they own the place. People find them in their pools,
- 11:01Speaker 2: people find in their backyard. The pets go missing because
- 11:04Speaker 2: the crocodiles sited on people, on people's pets or in
- 11:08Speaker 2: some cases, I'm sorry, if you're at a lake, I
- 11:11Speaker 2: don't care if it's disney World or what. If you're
- 11:14Speaker 2: at like a lake or the beach or whatnot, some
- 11:18Speaker 2: water source, don't leave your child on the edge of
- 11:21Speaker 2: the shore and then be surprised when they're gone, because
- 11:25Speaker 2: guess what a crocodile did do that?
- 11:29Speaker 1: Yeah, and it was. It was one of the lakes
- 11:33Speaker 1: Orlando and it was actually, yeah, yeah, that's not a
- 11:38Speaker 1: Disney World. Yeah, sure was.
- 11:40Speaker 2: And I'm like, well, you should have known better. I'm
- 11:44Speaker 2: sorry that his parents should have known better not to
- 11:46Speaker 2: do that.
- 11:47Speaker 1: They were tourists, so probably they probably didn't know better,
- 11:50Speaker 1: but would hold up? Did the kid I don't remember
- 11:54Speaker 1: what happened to the kid. Did he die or did actually?
- 11:56Speaker 2: Oh, yes, the kid got the kid got eaten. The
- 11:59Speaker 2: baby guy it was like an iving was an infant,
- 12:01Speaker 2: but the infant. Yes, they found the crocodile. They found
- 12:05Speaker 2: the crocodile. I think they killed it. And then yeah, yeah.
- 12:09Speaker 1: The baby, Yeah, it was a two year old boy.
- 12:11Speaker 1: And my mom like around this time, my mother she
- 12:15Speaker 1: found she heard about that, and she actually like she
- 12:17Speaker 1: cried her eyes out. She was crying her eyes out,
- 12:20Speaker 1: like that's horrible, Like how can that happen. I'm like,
- 12:23Speaker 1: I hate to say it, Mom, but that's that's actually
- 12:26Speaker 1: that's a legitimate hazard for living in Florida. Like, yeah,
- 12:30Speaker 1: you know, I lucked out because I never had to
- 12:32Speaker 1: deal with that. Like I think the most like the
- 12:34Speaker 1: worst thing I had to deal with in Florida was
- 12:36Speaker 1: the hurricanes. Yeah, and that and there was like three
- 12:40Speaker 1: hurricanes that kind of skimmed by Orlando. It didn't actually
- 12:43Speaker 1: go through Orlando. Like there was Hurricane Michael, which was
- 12:47Speaker 1: the biggest one. And like my dad literally had to
- 12:50Speaker 1: bribe me to leave Orlando when that happened because I
- 12:53Speaker 1: told him like, well, Dad, Michael is not even going
- 12:56Speaker 1: to come towards Orlando. It's like it's just skimming along
- 12:59Speaker 1: the coastline. He's like, what about the funnel, And like
- 13:01Speaker 1: the funnel is not that big, dad, Like I mean
- 13:03Speaker 1: it's big, but it's not gonna like stretch from the
- 13:05Speaker 1: coastline to Orlando. All right, Like the way it's happening,
- 13:09Speaker 1: Like all we're getting is the cyclone, like the storm
- 13:12Speaker 1: cell that surrounds the that surrounds Yeah, yeah, that's all
- 13:17Speaker 1: we're getting and skipped, so it's gonna be a lot
- 13:19Speaker 1: of rain and wind and but no, my dad, my
- 13:21Speaker 1: dad was not convinced. He was like, listen, you need
- 13:23Speaker 1: to get out of Orlando now. And I'm like, well, Dad,
- 13:25Speaker 1: I can't. Dad, you don't even pay my bills. Do
- 13:30Speaker 1: you have Like with what money, sir? With what money?
- 13:34Speaker 1: I don't have the money to just drop everything and evacuate.
- 13:36Speaker 1: I mean, if I have to, I have to. But
- 13:38Speaker 1: right now, as far as i'm as far as I'm aware,
- 13:41Speaker 1: they have not given an evacuation order for Orlando. In fact,
- 13:45Speaker 1: they have not done that in years. They rarely ever
- 13:48Speaker 1: do that for Orlando because hurricanes rarely go to Orlando. Yeah,
- 13:53Speaker 1: all right, they'll skim the right across like up a bit.
- 13:56Speaker 1: Because there's two other hurricanes that like actually like criss
- 13:59Speaker 1: cross like and both completely missed Orlando. Yeah, but Michael
- 14:05Speaker 1: was the only one that got kind of got close.
- 14:07Speaker 1: But it was just give me the coastline and he's like,
- 14:10Speaker 1: I'll give you. I'll give you five hundred bucks right
- 14:12Speaker 1: now to get out of Orlando. And he was like, well,
- 14:14Speaker 1: you're not Dad, you drive a hard bargain.
- 14:18Speaker 2: The money and the I need to see the five
- 14:20Speaker 2: hundred dollars in my account before I leave.
- 14:23Speaker 1: Bro. He like he dead ask like transferred the money
- 14:26Speaker 1: and told me he transferred the money. I was like, well, Dad,
- 14:28Speaker 1: you get you drive a hard bargain. So I went.
- 14:30Speaker 1: So I went and stayed in Tampa with a cousin.
- 14:33Speaker 2: Money talks, money talks like.
- 14:36Speaker 1: I won't say I'm a bribeable person, but you know,
- 14:39Speaker 1: you know, five hundred bucks is five hundred bucks.
- 14:40Speaker 2: Give me three digits, three or four digits?
- 14:43Speaker 1: Yeah, sure, like most people can't afford can't afford my price.
- 14:50Speaker 2: But yeah, no, I'm sorry. Yeah, that's not reason why
- 14:53Speaker 2: don't want to live in Florida. I don't want to deal
- 14:54Speaker 2: with that, or the flying car or the hessing cockroaches. No,
- 14:59Speaker 2: I'm good, I'm good. It's bad enough here in Texas.
- 15:04Speaker 2: I have to deal with scorpions appearing in my house.
- 15:07Speaker 2: I don't want to deal with the flying hissing cockroaches
- 15:10Speaker 2: they have down there. Hell no, absolutely no, you got
- 15:14Speaker 2: me fucked up.
- 15:14Speaker 1: And you won't see those until, like you get closer
- 15:16Speaker 1: to the Everglades.
- 15:17Speaker 2: Still, you got me fucked up in the Everglades. I
- 15:20Speaker 2: love the Everglades. But again, I just know Florida is
- 15:24Speaker 2: all round no for me on multiple levels, but mostly
- 15:27Speaker 2: because of political because the political environment.
- 15:31Speaker 1: Most I agree with that. And it's funny because like
- 15:33Speaker 1: my boyfriend Alex is from is also from Florida, and
- 15:36Speaker 1: he's from that We're from the Saintsy. We were born
- 15:40Speaker 1: in the same city. Yeah, And thing is, he wants
- 15:44Speaker 1: to go back to uh, he wants to go back
- 15:46Speaker 1: to Jacksonville, and I don't mind. I'm willing to go
- 15:49Speaker 1: with him. But there's a part of me that's like,
- 15:51Speaker 1: you know, hun, like, let's maybe see if like I mean,
- 15:58Speaker 1: I don't mind moved back to Florida. I'll like, I
- 16:01Speaker 1: support you, and I've actually I really want to leave
- 16:03Speaker 1: San Antonio because San Antonio is not it either.
- 16:06Speaker 2: It's not it either.
- 16:08Speaker 1: And but like for me, like I don't want him to.
- 16:12Speaker 1: I don't want to tell him no, like no, like
- 16:14Speaker 1: we're not moving to Florida because because he wants to
- 16:16Speaker 1: be closer to his family that's there, but it's mainly
- 16:19Speaker 1: he just mainly he wants to be closer to uh,
- 16:25Speaker 1: to his nieces and to his nieces and nephews because
- 16:28Speaker 1: he does he has a brother, and he has two brothers,
- 16:31Speaker 1: and one of them has like I think they have
- 16:35Speaker 1: like two kids or something right now, like they have
- 16:37Speaker 1: one just literally just had a baby, right So he
- 16:40Speaker 1: wants to be closer to them because he misses them.
- 16:42Speaker 1: But at the same time, like the family that currently
- 16:44Speaker 1: lives there stresses him the fuck out, Like his mom
- 16:49Speaker 1: lives there, and not to like spill the tea on here,
- 16:52Speaker 1: but like like his family, like some of his family
- 16:55Speaker 1: lives there, his mom lives there, his brothers and lives there,
- 16:58Speaker 1: but I think it's really just one brother he's really
- 17:01Speaker 1: close to. And he has some friends there that he
- 17:05Speaker 1: really misses too, but his mom and his old and
- 17:09Speaker 1: one and his oldest brother both stressed him the fuck
- 17:13Speaker 1: out and there's always some kind of drama going on
- 17:15Speaker 1: with them. And I'm like, well, honey, like I love
- 17:19Speaker 1: you and I don't want I'm not ever going to
- 17:20Speaker 1: tell you not to like be close to your family,
- 17:22Speaker 1: and like discourage you from being closer to your family.
- 17:25Speaker 1: But I'm like concerned. I'm concerned if like they like
- 17:29Speaker 1: if moving back with them, like moving back close to
- 17:31Speaker 1: be near them ends up causing like more like stress
- 17:35Speaker 1: for you. You know, I don't want you to be
- 17:37Speaker 1: put in that situation, right, Like, I'm not gonna tell
- 17:39Speaker 1: you no, Like I'm not gonna tell you don't be
- 17:41Speaker 1: like don't have a relationship with your family. But I
- 17:44Speaker 1: definitely want to just stress that don't do it if
- 17:47Speaker 1: it's going to be like if it's gonna make you
- 17:50Speaker 1: like stressed out all the time. Yeah, because I hear
- 17:55Speaker 1: the horror stories about your mom, and just your mom
- 17:57Speaker 1: alone puts kind of puts me off, like like you
- 18:01Speaker 1: sure you want to be near this woman again? Yeah,
- 18:04Speaker 1: I don't want this on the podcast, but like yeah,
- 18:09Speaker 1: and then like his oldest brother is is is a dick,
- 18:12Speaker 1: like is a total dick. And his yah, his second
- 18:16Speaker 1: oldest brother, because he's the youngest out of three brothers,
- 18:18Speaker 1: his second oldest brother is the one he's actually close to.
- 18:22Speaker 1: And I'm like, all right, yeah, I'm definitely like down
- 18:24Speaker 1: for being like closer to them, you know, But I
- 18:28Speaker 1: don't really think I want to be anywhere near your mom,
- 18:31Speaker 1: your oldest brother, because your oldest brother sounds like my
- 18:33Speaker 1: older brother, and your mom also sounds very inconsiderate and
- 18:38Speaker 1: doesn't seem to like take your needs or You're like,
- 18:43Speaker 1: you know, she doesn't seem she's not very considerate of you,
- 18:48Speaker 1: and she's been and lately she's been causing a lot
- 18:50Speaker 1: of drama for her for his other brother, the one
- 18:54Speaker 1: he's close to. So I'm like, like, I want to, Like,
- 18:57Speaker 1: I mean, we're going to talk about it, like, because
- 18:59Speaker 1: he wants to move to to but he I can
- 19:01Speaker 1: tell he's open to like living somewhere else. I'm like, well,
- 19:05Speaker 1: you want to be closer to them, right, why not
- 19:07Speaker 1: find a place that's still within the ballpark, Like we
- 19:10Speaker 1: can be able to make a drive there, Like we
- 19:12Speaker 1: could still be able to like be close enough to them,
- 19:15Speaker 1: but not so close that we are, like, you know,
- 19:18Speaker 1: entangled in a lot of that drama. Yeah, because like
- 19:24Speaker 1: what's what's going to happen? You know what's gonna happen, babe, befo,
- 19:27Speaker 1: We're constantly being pulled into that crap. You know it's
- 19:31Speaker 1: gonna drive me crazy. I know that for sure, because
- 19:34Speaker 1: I told him. I've always made it very clear with him, like, hey, listen,
- 19:37Speaker 1: I don't tolerate like if people are gonna be abusive
- 19:40Speaker 1: and like and like problematic like that, I don't tolerate it.
- 19:44Speaker 1: I really don't, Yeah, because you know, I dealt with
- 19:49Speaker 1: that a lot in my early life. And if I
- 19:51Speaker 1: have to deal and I've made it made it like
- 19:53Speaker 1: more for like my own self respect, Like I have
- 19:57Speaker 1: self respect for myself. U. I'm not gonna put up
- 20:01Speaker 1: with that anymore. Kid. Yeah. As a kid, I had
- 20:06Speaker 1: no power. I had to put up with it, had
- 20:08Speaker 1: no choice but to put up with it. But now
- 20:10Speaker 1: it's abuilt. If I have to put up with it,
- 20:11Speaker 1: I'm gonna.
- 20:12Speaker 2: Be unhappy and it's gonna be everyone's problem.
- 20:15Speaker 1: It's gonna be everyone's. Yeah. So, like you know, I
- 20:20Speaker 1: want to support I want to be supportive of him,
- 20:21Speaker 1: but I also want him to try to like think
- 20:23Speaker 1: like see, like, hey, let's consider other options, right, because
- 20:29Speaker 1: I'm going now, I'm just saying I've told them, like
- 20:33Speaker 1: I don't really want to live in places like Texas
- 20:36Speaker 1: anymore because of how homophobic it is here. Yeah, Like
- 20:39Speaker 1: I'm tired of them making these decisions. That are affecting
- 20:42Speaker 1: the gay community all right, Like, because I've been really
- 20:45Speaker 1: trying to like get like more connected with the gay
- 20:48Speaker 1: community and like distance myself from like the like these
- 20:52Speaker 1: kind of people that are homophobic or these kind of
- 20:55Speaker 1: areas that are just gonna like treat us like shit,
- 20:59Speaker 1: you know. And unfortunately, a lot of the areas that
- 21:02Speaker 1: are very like gay friendly are also very expensive to
- 21:06Speaker 1: live in. That is also true, Like, so I'm trying
- 21:11Speaker 1: to find a good balance, Like, hey, like let's find
- 21:13Speaker 1: a place that will be that will work better for us.
- 21:15Speaker 1: You know. You know, he misses his family. Okay, let's move.
- 21:19Speaker 1: I don't mind moving closer to Florida, but let's not
- 21:23Speaker 1: go too close to her. We're constantly entangled with their
- 21:25Speaker 1: bullshit because I'll miss my family. I know for a
- 21:29Speaker 1: fact I'll miss my family. But the thing is that
- 21:31Speaker 1: I'm used to living I'm used to living in like
- 21:35Speaker 1: far away from my family, So for me, it's not
- 21:37Speaker 1: that much of an issue. I love my family, but
- 21:41Speaker 1: I'm that kind of person that's like, yeah, I need
- 21:42Speaker 1: my space, like I need my space. I love you,
- 21:47Speaker 1: but I don't I like weekends and holidays.
- 21:51Speaker 2: Honey, that same same same, same, and I bring up
- 21:59Speaker 2: family drama. No, I don't want to live in Florida either,
- 22:03Speaker 2: because my dad lived, my biological father lives down there. No,
- 22:06Speaker 2: I'm good. I'm good. I'm good because the second he
- 22:09Speaker 2: finds out, he said, but oh, you want to come
- 22:10Speaker 2: over it? No, No, I don't know. Like I still
- 22:14Speaker 2: don't know if I want to tell him going down
- 22:15Speaker 2: to Florida for Disney, I'll be literally in his backyard.
- 22:21Speaker 2: And I kind of don't want to him, and I
- 22:22Speaker 2: don't think I'm going to. But part me is like,
- 22:24Speaker 2: maybe you should, Maybe I don't, Maybe I won't.
- 22:28Speaker 1: I'm gonna be honest. My vote is no, because you
- 22:32Speaker 1: know you told me about I will just stress me out. Yeah. No,
- 22:36Speaker 1: you're there for you. You're not there for him, period.
- 22:41Speaker 1: Yeah you know what.
- 22:41Speaker 2: Yeah, I won't tell him. I won't tell him anyway.
- 22:47Speaker 1: So anyway, what we doing today, what we what we're reading?
- 22:50Speaker 2: We're talking about some smut, some more smut from Hajie
- 22:55Speaker 2: of course, my favorite yahwe mong artists. So to say,
- 23:03Speaker 2: story's gonna be much shorter, very short. It's like less
- 23:06Speaker 2: than sixty pages. It was a very short episode as
- 23:12Speaker 2: far as the talking about the book, which is fine
- 23:14Speaker 2: because you all should be out there enjoying the last weekend,
- 23:18Speaker 2: last week of pride. So today's stir we're going to
- 23:21Speaker 2: be talking about is geck gecku no garren. Hope, I'm
- 23:29Speaker 2: pronouncing that in English. That means let me look at
- 23:33Speaker 2: the English title Gecku no Garen in English. The English
- 23:40Speaker 2: translation of that is Garn of the moon Bow, which
- 23:45Speaker 2: is such a weird name because it doesn't really I guess. Anyway,
- 23:52Speaker 2: So this is a sixty page two chapter, like sixty
- 23:56Speaker 2: some pages manga that is left on a cliffhanger, but
- 24:02Speaker 2: I guess Hadji hasn't the guy hasn't gone, the artist
- 24:05Speaker 2: hasn't gone back to it, or the writer has it
- 24:07Speaker 2: gone back to it to finish it out. So there's
- 24:09Speaker 2: also it kind of leaves on a cliffhanger a little bit.
- 24:11Speaker 2: But basically this story is about a kind of start
- 24:16Speaker 2: off with a organization. I guess an organization kind of
- 24:20Speaker 2: comes off as an organization of humans and demons that
- 24:24Speaker 2: go around trying to kill. Obviously, could get rid of
- 24:29Speaker 2: demons that could be dangerous to humanity. So we followed
- 24:36Speaker 2: the character named me right quick. Uh, he know you
- 24:45Speaker 2: know he know we he know he and he gets
- 24:48Speaker 2: called in to help assist with a cocoon. Of course
- 24:53Speaker 2: he's a demon, and he comes to get he gets
- 24:57Speaker 2: asked to assist with a cocoon that this group was
- 25:00Speaker 2: found that they want to take care of. It almost
- 25:03Speaker 2: looks like a mirror. He has like a reflective and
- 25:07Speaker 2: it talks about how inside this cocoon thing there's a
- 25:10Speaker 2: old a god of the mirror, god, demon whatever you
- 25:18Speaker 2: call it, because they call it both in this story,
- 25:22Speaker 2: and the main character basically okay, let me go ahead
- 25:26Speaker 2: and take care of this, and he goes full demon
- 25:28Speaker 2: mode thong he has like a full suit, and then
- 25:31Speaker 2: when he goes full demon mode he is out. It
- 25:34Speaker 2: changes to be more of like a traditional what you
- 25:37Speaker 2: would think from like and you Yasha, but skimpy. There's
- 25:40Speaker 2: more like a song and shit. And I'm just like, okay,
- 25:43Speaker 2: that sure. And he decides to crack open that cocoon
- 25:48Speaker 2: and kill whatever's inside. And then when he gets inside,
- 25:53Speaker 2: him and the demon get.
- 25:56Speaker 1: Freaky freaky deck You're like, oh okay.
- 26:02Speaker 2: So as he's in there getting field on by this
- 26:07Speaker 2: serpent demon thing, and there's some technical stuff that happens
- 26:14Speaker 2: ah and he comes, he meets the guy, meets the demon.
- 26:19Speaker 1: He comes.
- 26:20Speaker 2: He doesn't have the name. He doesn't have a name currently,
- 26:22Speaker 2: but later on he gets named uh goan g A
- 26:27Speaker 2: R A N. And basically he's a demon, but some
- 26:34Speaker 2: call him a god, and he's like a god of
- 26:37Speaker 2: a god or a demon of a mirror. And he
- 26:40Speaker 2: goes through this. He has a weird This guy is
- 26:44Speaker 2: not I don't think he's well in the head because
- 26:46Speaker 2: he gets angry when he like he loses control of
- 26:49Speaker 2: his powers, and he gets like angry when people call
- 26:52Speaker 2: him a god, and he doesn't like being the fact
- 26:56Speaker 2: that he's like a god of a mirror stuck in
- 26:58Speaker 2: a mirror or whatnot. It's it's not.
- 27:01Speaker 1: Really that important.
- 27:02Speaker 2: Basically, what happens in the story is Hanumi basically pulls
- 27:08Speaker 2: him out of the cocoon and they live together and
- 27:12Speaker 2: they kind of fall in love with each other. Auvy
- 27:15Speaker 2: gay and he's dealing honeywee. He is dealing with Garn
- 27:20Speaker 2: who's obviously traumatized, dealing with the fact of what he
- 27:24Speaker 2: is and who he is and try to accept himself.
- 27:27Speaker 2: And then there's one part in particular that when he
- 27:30Speaker 2: takes him back to his place of living. Garn kind
- 27:34Speaker 2: of loses control and he turns into what he really
- 27:36Speaker 2: looks like. He looks like a's like a weird serpent monster,
- 27:42Speaker 2: serpent abomination older to horror esque, and basically Hanumi is
- 27:51Speaker 2: trying to get him equated into like living outside of
- 27:55Speaker 2: the outside of his normal quarters and living with him
- 27:59Speaker 2: and be like, hey, you were fine out, everything's guccy,
- 28:03Speaker 2: you're living with me. Now we got this, And of
- 28:06Speaker 2: course they have a whole relationship thing and it's so cute,
- 28:10Speaker 2: and he's like, you know what, they make love auvy,
- 28:15Speaker 2: sex and bold, some guy with a guy with the
- 28:18Speaker 2: servent with long tongue, he's your imagination. And at the
- 28:24Speaker 2: end of the two chapters, because it's only two chapters
- 28:27Speaker 2: currently and this has been on hold since there's been
- 28:31Speaker 2: nothing new since twenty twenty, so I don't think I
- 28:33Speaker 2: don't think they're ever going to come back and finish this,
- 28:36Speaker 2: but it leaves it open to where they're living with
- 28:38Speaker 2: each other and they are all honey. He calls them
- 28:47Speaker 2: a pervert because obviously he has things with tentacles and shit,
- 28:51Speaker 2: and they leave it at oh so oh, she just
- 28:54Speaker 2: call it so you're saying that I'm a pervert. It's
- 28:56Speaker 2: because your true nature is also lude e. And it
- 29:01Speaker 2: kind of leaves at that where they just basically live
- 29:04Speaker 2: with each other and Garan's learning how to beat learn
- 29:08Speaker 2: how to live in the human world and accept himself
- 29:12Speaker 2: for what he is with how knew he who is
- 29:17Speaker 2: wants to be there with him and be and just
- 29:19Speaker 2: be with him. It's kind of a love story between
- 29:21Speaker 2: two demons, a demon slash god. And it's basically just
- 29:29Speaker 2: a nice little, cute little love story. Nothing too serious.
- 29:32Speaker 2: There's a few sex scenes here and there, but nothing again,
- 29:35Speaker 2: it's it's kind of, honestly, in my opinion, it's kind
- 29:37Speaker 2: of tame compared to Hadgie's other work that I've gone
- 29:42Speaker 2: over in this on this podcast. But it's a cute
- 29:46Speaker 2: little story and you can find it on online. You
- 29:51Speaker 2: can find online to read cute little sixty pages. That's
- 29:56Speaker 2: pretty much the stories. That he gets called in to
- 29:59Speaker 2: help take care of it. Demon finds out it's a god.
- 30:03Speaker 2: He's very takes honey, he takes him in, they fall
- 30:07Speaker 2: in love, they kind of get like a bond, and
- 30:09Speaker 2: that's basically it. It's again, it's very short story it's cute.
- 30:13Speaker 2: It's one of its early Haji's early works. And but yeah,
- 30:18Speaker 2: that is Garan of the Moonbo. It's like a little snapshot,
- 30:25Speaker 2: like a little one shot. So if you like Hadji's work,
- 30:29Speaker 2: please go go check out that.
- 30:32Speaker 1: One as well.
- 30:33Speaker 2: Now, there are a few other works by Hadji that
- 30:36Speaker 2: I do have on my list to do at some
- 30:37Speaker 2: point in the future. There are much longer. There's one
- 30:41Speaker 2: dealing with a guy goes to Limbo and falls in
- 30:45Speaker 2: love with a I think it's like a shin gami
- 30:48Speaker 2: or a grim reaper. There's that, and then there's one
- 30:52Speaker 2: called bad Ass I think is the name of it.
- 30:56Speaker 2: It's basically a guy in an alien.
- 31:01Speaker 1: Yep.
- 31:02Speaker 2: So there's those two, and then there's I think there's
- 31:04Speaker 2: like me one or two more low one shots. I
- 31:07Speaker 2: will go over at some point in the future because
- 31:09Speaker 2: I'm spreading out the smut, so you won't be seeing
- 31:12Speaker 2: any smut for a while. Y'all be smut free for
- 31:15Speaker 2: a bit. I think the next thing we're going what's
- 31:20Speaker 2: the next thing we're going to do I have on
- 31:22Speaker 2: my list. I haven't looked at the list of book
- 31:26Speaker 2: quatters and what we're doing. Okay, So we got smut, smots, smot, smut.
- 31:31Speaker 1: Smut, just a lot of smut.
- 31:36Speaker 2: The Ring oh okay, oh yeah, uh huh ring. Then
- 31:44Speaker 2: Projects seven thirty one.
- 31:48Speaker 1: Okay.
- 31:49Speaker 2: Then we got Projects Hyperion and Legion to record, and
- 31:53Speaker 2: then Hail Mary.
- 31:56Speaker 1: Okay, cool, cool, cool, cool cool cool, we've already recorded
- 31:59Speaker 1: Hail Mary. We haven't.
- 32:01Speaker 2: Yeah, we recorded, We record the next two episodes of
- 32:04Speaker 2: for the first two episode of Julybruary pre recorded, and
- 32:08Speaker 2: then actually probably three, and then of course we got
- 32:12Speaker 2: Project Hyperion, Project Legion, and then have you read the
- 32:16Speaker 2: book for Project hil Mary.
- 32:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I've read it, Okay.
- 32:19Speaker 2: Cool, got it. Well, I've seen the movie. Good, so
- 32:24Speaker 2: we could do Project hil Mary as well. And then
- 32:27Speaker 2: after Project hil Mary is Crawler doneon Crawler Carl Book five.
- 32:35Speaker 2: Oh yeah, no, I'm yeah, I have five finished, So
- 32:37Speaker 2: we're finally doing going back to one episode a month
- 32:41Speaker 2: being done, Caller Carl. I'm on book six currently. Ba'll
- 32:46Speaker 2: have that done by the time we get to book six,
- 32:47Speaker 2: because we're not getting to book six till probably August
- 32:51Speaker 2: or September depending. So yeah, yeah, So we got stuff
- 32:58Speaker 2: planned for the next couple of months coming on, So
- 33:02Speaker 2: join us for that. But thank you all for listening
- 33:04Speaker 2: to today's episode of book Watchers. It's a shorter episode. Again.
- 33:08Speaker 2: Please go out and celebrate pride. That means go to
- 33:12Speaker 2: your local gay bookstore if you have one, or if
- 33:15Speaker 2: your city or location is doing a pride parade, pride
- 33:19Speaker 2: fessible thing because some people are, some groups, some todays
- 33:23Speaker 2: are doing that at the end of the month. Go
- 33:24Speaker 2: do so, enjoy pride, be gay.
- 33:28Speaker 1: Yeah, and if you live in an area that doesn't
- 33:30Speaker 1: have that unfortunately has stopped doing pride, you don't make
- 33:33Speaker 1: you know, make your own or you know, go to
- 33:34Speaker 1: a place that does do pride, all right, because you
- 33:38Speaker 1: know they have no they have no business telling us
- 33:40Speaker 1: what we can or cannot do, Okay, business trying to
- 33:43Speaker 1: erase us. Like Devin and I, we live in a city.
- 33:46Speaker 1: We live in San Antonio, and let me tell you
- 33:48Speaker 1: something about San Antonio. We actually are pretty gay, and
- 33:51Speaker 1: our our city legislator is actually really progressive. Yeah, they've
- 33:56Speaker 1: recently made a lot of here in San Antonio especially,
- 33:58Speaker 1: they've recently made a lot of like rules to protect
- 34:02Speaker 1: and acknowledge trans people.
- 34:04Speaker 2: Mm hmm.
- 34:05Speaker 1: All right. And then of course when our state when
- 34:07Speaker 1: the state, our fuck ass state made the like under
- 34:10Speaker 1: Trump's administration tried like started like removing like any political
- 34:17Speaker 1: like anything like any political like stat like what do
- 34:21Speaker 1: they call it again, like any like political statements or
- 34:23Speaker 1: like if you.
- 34:24Speaker 2: Have political statements like the crosswalk we had here.
- 34:28Speaker 1: Yeah, because here in San Antonio on our gay strip,
- 34:32Speaker 1: we have we do have like an area where there's
- 34:35Speaker 1: said gay bars and a lot of like gay stores.
- 34:38Speaker 1: It's it's very small, but it's called the gay strip.
- 34:41Speaker 1: And uh in the like in the center of it,
- 34:44Speaker 1: there was a crosswalk. It was a rainbow cross cross walk.
- 34:47Speaker 1: So it was the main thing that like identified it
- 34:49Speaker 1: as like you know, the gay like the gay community,
- 34:52Speaker 1: part of our gay community. But because of the whole
- 34:56Speaker 1: like the whole state telling telling the cities to like
- 34:59Speaker 1: remove any political statements from their public set from the
- 35:02Speaker 1: public areas. So like since the street is considered public property, right,
- 35:06Speaker 1: this means that technically belonged under that technically falls under
- 35:10Speaker 1: state legislator, they had to they had to completely remove,
- 35:15Speaker 1: they had to completely paint over the rainbow crosswalk.
- 35:19Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 35:20Speaker 1: And a lot of people here in San Antonio, a lot,
- 35:23Speaker 1: especially our gay our gay community was very upset by
- 35:26Speaker 1: this because like, what the fuck.
- 35:29Speaker 2: There's no it's not harming anything, so why the fuck
- 35:32Speaker 2: do you care? Do you all care so much?
- 35:37Speaker 1: Yeah, and so they forced us to paint over our
- 35:40Speaker 1: rainbow crosswalk, but the city you know, not wanting to
- 35:44Speaker 1: like take it and not take and like it wasn't
- 35:47Speaker 1: gonna let them get away with it, so like, okay, well,
- 35:50Speaker 1: c malicious compliance. They removed it, right, but then they
- 35:54Speaker 1: immediately painted the sidewalk, which is city property falls under
- 35:58Speaker 1: city regularlyation. They painted the sidewalk going up and down
- 36:03Speaker 1: the Gay Strip rainbow. Ye. And yeah, my boyfriend and I, uh,
- 36:09Speaker 1: the end of May, we went we went down to
- 36:11Speaker 1: the gate Strip to walk around a bit, and we
- 36:13Speaker 1: got to see the new rainbow sidewalk, and honestly, it
- 36:16Speaker 1: looks way better because like before, just one little rainbow,
- 36:20Speaker 1: like just one rainbow crosswalk was pretty much all we had.
- 36:23Speaker 1: Like it was in the intersection, like a four way intersection,
- 36:27Speaker 1: so there was each crosswalk at the rainbow, right, But
