- 0:30we cover it all.
- 0:31Midday motivation every time you press
- 0:33call.
- 0:34Lunch with the Clydesdale.
- 0:36Cowboy, bring the heat.
- 0:38Crossfit, boobies, music on repeat.
- 0:42Half-hour hustle, yeah,
- 0:43we're building that brand.
- 0:44Grab a plate, tune in now,
- 0:46you're part of the fam.
- 0:52It's lunch time.
- 0:57You actually got the right key in tune
- 0:58right there.
- 0:59I like that.
- 1:00That was nice.
- 1:01Yeah.
- 1:01That was definitely nice.
- 1:03Why is it that Joseph Ramirez every day
- 1:07associates a food with the day of the
- 1:09week?
- 1:13I'm going to tell you what.
- 1:15When you burn as much calories as Joseph
- 1:18Ramirez does,
- 1:20the man exercises like a maniac.
- 1:22You got to feed the machine.
- 1:25Got to feed the machine.
- 1:26feeding the beast man let's be real
- 1:29hundred percent absolutely yeah anybody
- 1:32who who subs in an echo bike for
- 1:35an erg i don't have a choice hey
- 1:39sometimes you have a choice you got to
- 1:40do what you got to do you got
- 1:43you have to feed that beast because you
- 1:45are burning more calories on the echo than
- 1:47you are on the arc depending on the
- 1:50workout yeah i would say that for sure
- 1:54had a real fun one uh monday that
- 1:56actually did tuesday that was absolutely
- 2:00disgusting because that's just kind of
- 2:02that we program you didn't you did so
- 2:06i don't know you watched the sunday show
- 2:08late did you see what jamie programmed for
- 2:11her gym last week and uh oh the
- 2:14freaking mile yeah yeah no she's out of
- 2:16her mind when i saw that as a
- 2:20matter of fact i wanted to text her
- 2:21and be like dude do you hate your
- 2:22members like what is wrong
- 2:27And I preface that with my dumb co-host.
- 2:30Yeah.
- 2:31Yeah.
- 2:32Yeah.
- 2:34And she seemed like she deserved it.
- 2:37I mean, that's just absolutely insane,
- 2:39dude.
- 2:40She was shooting me videos of it going
- 2:43down.
- 2:44She'd completed it in the morning.
- 2:45These were evening videos of the class.
- 2:49It looked awful.
- 2:52That's because it was.
- 2:53That's only the reason why it looked awful
- 2:55is because it absolutely is.
- 2:56There's no way, dude.
- 2:57Like, that's just... What is it?
- 2:59Four hundred meters of burpee broad jumps?
- 3:01Four hundred meters of something else?
- 3:02Four hundred meters of... Well,
- 3:04I think there's a run in between each
- 3:06of the... Oh, yeah.
- 3:07That makes it so much better.
- 3:09Yeah.
- 3:09Thank God.
- 3:10You can break with a run.
- 3:11Sure.
- 3:13I... Yeah.
- 3:15Just...
- 3:16Mark Phillips is another stupid,
- 3:19silly pants, dumb, stupid, silly,
- 3:22whatever it is.
- 3:23It's DDSP.
- 3:25DDSP.
- 3:26DDSP.
- 3:27I want to do it,
- 3:28just don't want to do it alone.
- 3:29Oh, you just finish with a four-meter run.
- 3:35Somehow I doubt by the finish you're
- 3:36looking to do anything that's even
- 3:38resembling a run.
- 3:39I would say it probably ends with a
- 3:40four-meter shuffle.
- 3:42Yeah.
- 3:43You just finish with a run.
- 3:45I take...
- 3:47Take it back.
- 3:48Yeah.
- 3:48It's not broken up by runs.
- 3:50You finish with a run.
- 3:51Yeah.
- 3:55Run.
- 3:59I don't want to do anything.
- 4:01No, Meg.
- 4:02As far as I know, she's not.
- 4:03She may have been.
- 4:04She's been watching some sort of trial.
- 4:06So that might actually be it.
- 4:09She watches it on her phone.
- 4:10So I have no idea if that's actually
- 4:12what it is or if it's some other
- 4:13trial because she loves that kind of shit.
- 4:16So it might be.
- 4:17I can't do that kind of stuff because
- 4:20it involves kids.
- 4:21And I'm going to get irrationally angry
- 4:24and upset and all that stuff because...
- 4:28If you hurt children,
- 4:29you are the absolute worst possible thing,
- 4:32in my opinion,
- 4:33on the face of the absolute planet.
- 4:34And I will take it out personally on
- 4:37you.
- 4:39My wife is probably watching it.
- 4:40I wouldn't know because I check out
- 4:43whenever any true crime is on.
- 4:47When I'm down here doing this is when
- 4:49she squeezes in her true crime stuff.
- 4:52yeah we watched them uh together because
- 4:57some of the stuff she we we pick
- 4:59up is interesting like the the what the
- 5:02what was it uh some of the ones
- 5:05that are like the world's worst like worst
- 5:07neighbors or whatever is on uh is on
- 5:10one of them that one was that was
- 5:12four episodes of that's pretty cool like
- 5:13one of them these people house just
- 5:14exploded in the middle of a neighborhood
- 5:17which seemed pretty random at one point
- 5:19but they were actually trying to do it
- 5:20to get uh
- 5:23to get the insurance money off of it.
- 5:26And the neighbors ended up dying.
- 5:27It was a whole terrible thing.
- 5:29But in some of the other ones,
- 5:30the one that started off,
- 5:32this woman went absolutely batshit insane
- 5:36on her neighbors,
- 5:37and they lived across the street from each
- 5:38other.
- 5:39So it wasn't like she was down the
- 5:40road or nothing like that.
- 5:41It just kept going on and on and
- 5:43on and on.
- 5:44Bro, it was wild.
- 5:48Yeah, Daniel, I don't even want to know.
- 5:51If it's my time, it's my time.
- 5:53Yeah, no.
- 5:56Wayne Short said something.
- 6:00Wayne, if you could pull up to Wayne.
- 6:01I challenge anybody to hit the like
- 6:04button.
- 6:05If you don't,
- 6:06your weekend will be filled with doo-doo.
- 6:11Or am I making that up?
- 6:14With two-doos?
- 6:15Doo-doo?
- 6:17Oh, honey-doos.
- 6:19With honey-doos.
- 6:21He edited it.
- 6:23got gotcha uh i got news for you
- 6:26there homie doing that anyway right so i'm
- 6:31going to visit my mom next weekend um
- 6:34and i said why don't you just leave
- 6:35that and i'll and i'll fix it when
- 6:37i get there she said i've already got
- 6:39a list of things for you oh good
- 6:43oh yay wait to see you mom that's
- 6:45super exciting right there yeah no my wife
- 6:48texted me earlier this week and was like
- 6:50we're pressure washing the garage
- 6:51Saturday.
- 6:52So find a good pressure washer was his
- 6:56exact, her exact words.
- 6:57I'm like, find a,
- 7:00like we have a pressure washer.
- 7:01Why am I looking for another one?
- 7:03I don't understand what's happening right
- 7:04now.
- 7:04Yeah.
- 7:05My mom gives me sunny do lists.
- 7:07Yeah.
- 7:08Well, I mean,
- 7:09gotta be grammatically correct.
- 7:14Um, Ken Walters, some of the,
- 7:15about a proven longest five K, uh,
- 7:18sorry don't want to forget that it was
- 7:21way up there uh the proven workout world's
- 7:23longest five k you do twenty five burpees
- 7:25then a thousand meter run then fifty air
- 7:28squats for five rounds our box did that
- 7:31in endurance class last week that was
- 7:33rough ken no just no yeah um
- 7:46Meg says that was your chance to get
- 7:48a new pressure washer.
- 7:50Corey, way to blow that opportunity.
- 7:53Megan, I don't want a new pressure washer.
- 7:59You understand what happens if you have a
- 8:00new pressure washer?
- 8:00Then you actually have to use it.
- 8:02Exactly.
- 8:04No.
- 8:05I'm okay.
- 8:07I'll be all right without that.
- 8:10I watched some football last night.
- 8:12Oh,
- 8:13was the Hall of Fame game last night?
- 8:15No, no, we're past Hall of Fame.
- 8:16We're a week in preseason week one.
- 8:19Shows you where I'm at on the timeline
- 8:22there.
- 8:22Yeah,
- 8:23I actually told Garrett and Joseph and
- 8:26Jeremy that the reason you weren't on the
- 8:29sports show is because I have to explain
- 8:31the sports to you if it's not CrossFit.
- 8:32Yeah, well, I mean,
- 8:34it depends on which sport we're talking
- 8:35about, but yeah, for the most part.
- 8:37As a matter of fact,
- 8:38I was at the barber this morning,
- 8:40and I go to an actual barber shop,
- 8:43and it's
- 8:45one of the highlights of my month when
- 8:46i get to go in there because it
- 8:48is straight up old school barber shop like
- 8:52if there's a woman in there it's because
- 8:53she brought her kid to go and and
- 8:56get their haircut and whatnot so it's a
- 8:57bunch of old dudes or adult god men
- 9:00whatever
- 9:02talking about whatever comes across this
- 9:04morning.
- 9:05It was Jaden Daniels and, uh, you know,
- 9:08preseason football and all that other good
- 9:09stuff.
- 9:10But that's why I sell my barber this
- 9:11morning.
- 9:12So Jonathan, I said, man,
- 9:14I might actually watch the saints this
- 9:15year.
- 9:15I haven't watched professional football
- 9:18and I had to think about it for
- 9:19a little while.
- 9:20I think the last full season of
- 9:22professional football I watched was in two
- 9:24thousand and fourteen.
- 9:29And it's two thousand twenty six.
- 9:30If anybody was keeping track.
- 9:32Yeah, it's been about that long.
- 9:34It's been about that long.
- 9:37So last night I watched Steelers Packers.
- 9:40I watched Bengals Lions.
- 9:42I tuned in for a minute of Raiders
- 9:44Cardinals.
- 9:45That was boring as hell.
- 9:47And then I hit a little bit of
- 9:49Titans Niners.
- 9:52So there was a lot of football last
- 9:53night.
- 9:54So this is the Joseph Ramirez section of
- 9:57the podcast.
- 9:59Drew Aller for the Steelers looked
- 10:01awesome.
- 10:01All right.
- 10:03So he is a Penn State kid.
- 10:06I watched every snap he took at Penn
- 10:08State.
- 10:09He didn't look this good in college.
- 10:13And in his first pro start looked really
- 10:16freaking good.
- 10:18He went ten of thirteen for one eighty
- 10:20and three touchdowns.
- 10:22Wow.
- 10:23That's impressive.
- 10:25Yeah.
- 10:25That's efficiency actually is what that
- 10:27is.
- 10:27Um, which is outstanding.
- 10:30Uh, they went,
- 10:32so I was watching a thing, uh,
- 10:35actually not that long ago where,
- 10:37they were, you know, the,
- 10:38this quarterback or that quarterback,
- 10:40whatever.
- 10:40And they were talking about college
- 10:41quarterbacks, nothing from, uh,
- 10:44what's his name?
- 10:44Brandon on, uh, Barstool sports.
- 10:48And they were doing college quarterbacks
- 10:49and, you know,
- 10:51it came up Peyton or whoever, right.
- 10:54Talking about Peyton Manning.
- 10:56He's one that he was okay in Tennessee,
- 11:00but like he couldn't beat,
- 11:01he couldn't beat Florida.
- 11:04And then once he got to the NFL,
- 11:06and I feel like a lot of them
- 11:06were like that.
- 11:10Drew Brees was that freaking Purdue,
- 11:12for Christ's sake.
- 11:13That football powerhouse, Purdue.
- 11:18It goes to show you that one player
- 11:19can't win a game.
- 11:21Correct.
- 11:23you get them in the nfl and all
- 11:25of a sudden they got all these other
- 11:26tools and weapons around them and a better
- 11:27line and a better system that works better
- 11:29for them all of a sudden it's like
- 11:30somebody you've never heard of potentially
- 11:33is holy where did this kid come from
- 11:35yeah well penn state was in the final
- 11:39four two years ago with drew aller at
- 11:42quarterback yeah lost on a last second
- 11:45interception to notre dame
- 11:48Like,
- 11:48they could have been in the national
- 11:50championship game two years ago very
- 11:51easily.
- 11:53And then last year,
- 11:54the wheels came off the bus, the train,
- 11:56whatever.
- 11:57All of it.
- 11:59But it was fun.
- 12:01It was good to see football back.
- 12:03And then I'm excited for tomorrow where
- 12:05the Bears' first preseason game and the
- 12:09cross-fitting Tyson Bajent will be getting
- 12:11the start for the Chicago Bears tomorrow,
- 12:15one p.m.
- 12:16against the Cleveland Browns.
- 12:18And I'm excited.
- 12:18He's getting a whole half,
- 12:20a whole first half.
- 12:22Not the Indiana Bears yet.
- 12:24They said yesterday that they are
- 12:26adamantly,
- 12:27they will never be the Indiana Bears.
- 12:30They may have a stadium in Indiana,
- 12:32but the name will always be Chicago Bears.
- 12:34Just checking.
- 12:35Just checking.
- 12:40Ken Walter says, pump the brakes.
- 12:42It's first week preseason Nittany Lion
- 12:44bias.
- 12:45Hey, bro.
- 12:48was skeptical whether he could play in the
- 12:50NFL because I watched every snap at Penn
- 12:52State he was very inconsistent his
- 12:56footwork looked really good and really
- 12:58different last night that's all I'm gonna
- 13:01say and that's a big thing with
- 13:03quarterbacks yeah
- 13:09The other thing I wanted to get into,
- 13:12and I need Vicky's help on this one,
- 13:15is yesterday during the chat, people said,
- 13:17hey,
- 13:17did you see the end of the barbell
- 13:18spin?
- 13:19Oh, yes, I did.
- 13:21And no, I did not.
- 13:22So I did.
- 13:25If Vicky is ready,
- 13:28we have it queued up.
- 13:31And if she goes ahead and plays this.
- 13:33All right.
- 13:43with volume, hopefully.
- 13:48Oh, no.
- 13:57All right.
- 13:57So let me see if I can pull
- 13:59it up, Vicki, real quick.
- 14:10While you're doing that, Mr.
- 14:11Brian Thompson,
- 14:11the Tuesday Sports Talk was on Glinton
- 14:14Things Podcast.
- 14:16Our friends, the Glintons,
- 14:17friends of the show,
- 14:18collaborators on the show from time to
- 14:20time, good people.
- 14:24I gave her the timestamp.
- 14:26Can you put the timestamp into the chat,
- 14:29Vicki, so I can find it real quick?
- 14:35Thank you for having premium, Vicki.
- 14:38Yes, we have premium, Vicki.
- 14:41We don't have discount Vicki.
- 14:49One fifty one twenty.
- 14:56Bum, bum, bum, bum, bum.
- 15:00I don't know, but.
- 15:01I.
- 15:08I just think about the direction of media
- 15:10and marketing within CrossFit.
- 15:16I don't know what you do with it.
- 15:19I know.
- 15:24I think I'm about done.
- 15:25No, I'm serious.
- 15:35I think I'm about done.
- 15:37That was such an old man way of
- 15:39saying it, dude.
- 15:40We're all sitting on a porch in rocking
- 15:42chairs and John goes, well,
- 15:44I'm about done.
- 15:45I wish I had the end stream button
- 15:47ready.
- 15:49I'm not talking about the podcast.
- 15:52Just with it all.
- 15:55Just focus on me and mine.
- 15:57I'm serious because people don't know
- 16:05We, we are in,
- 16:06we're in a CrossFit matrix and only a
- 16:09few people have chosen the red pill.
- 16:15I think that's far enough.
- 16:17So, um, very interesting.
- 16:22Uh, I was caught off guard by this,
- 16:25um,
- 16:25someone who is so passionate about the
- 16:27sport all of a sudden, um,
- 16:30says he's done and that he needs to
- 16:34prioritize him and his family.
- 16:40He goes on to say that he's just
- 16:43tired of trying to say things that he
- 16:48thinks are helpful and that could help the
- 16:51sport and that nobody ever listens and
- 16:54nothing ever changes.
- 16:57And then I will say that Brian Spinn
- 16:58jumped in and said that we need to
- 17:00be the voice of reason.
- 17:03Without third-party media being the voice
- 17:05of reason,
- 17:06then you just get what everybody wants you
- 17:08to do.
- 17:08And he hearkened back to ten years ago
- 17:12to when CrossFit ran the media and nobody
- 17:16could get access to anything.
- 17:19Right.
- 17:19And they controlled everything.
- 17:21And it wasn't until this third-party media
- 17:23came to kind of
- 17:25Be the voice of reason.
- 17:26Be the devil's advocate.
- 17:28Be the other side of the argument that
- 17:30we actually had some stuff like this.
- 17:33And the reason this kind of resonates with
- 17:36me is there's part of me that feels
- 17:40this way too.
- 17:42Not that I'm done, but man,
- 17:45I'm really tired of banging my head
- 17:47against the wall.
- 17:50Sure.
- 17:50So I went back in time.
- 17:55uh to an interview that i did oh
- 17:57i thought you meant you actually went back
- 17:59in time that would have been way cool
- 18:02um and if vicky could give me the
- 18:05time stamp on this one um i know
- 18:08about where it is uh so i'm gonna
- 18:12oh she said it's in a private chat
- 18:15uh
- 18:22yep all right so i'm gonna just play
- 18:23it from here uh so this was episode
- 18:29two sixty of the clydesdale fitness and
- 18:31friends before we changed our name and uh
- 18:36the whole crew is there but i'm i
- 18:38it's only armin talking so uh this is
- 18:41armin hammer back in the day and this
- 18:44is after he disappeared and we asked him
- 18:47why have you disappeared and then it was
- 18:51you know, the whole Greg Glassman thing.
- 18:52And then it was, you know,
- 18:53CrossFit gets sold.
- 18:55And what does that mean for CrossFit?
- 18:57What does it mean for the future?
- 19:00I just felt like at a certain point,
- 19:01I was kind of repeating myself.
- 19:03I felt like I was just saying similar
- 19:05things over and over again.
- 19:07And the people who listened either agreed
- 19:10or disagreed and kind of brought up good
- 19:12points or in both directions.
- 19:14And the people who heard what they wanted
- 19:15to hear generally tended to just assume
- 19:18that I was saying something that I
- 19:19definitely wasn't.
- 19:21um which is just common for the internet
- 19:23in general and i felt like i kind
- 19:26of got my point across in a lot
- 19:28of ways and by the time we sort
- 19:32of did this insane like third trimester
- 19:35cross-country move and then like couple
- 19:38months later had a baby by the time
- 19:40that happened i was just really worn thin
- 19:45by the the
- 19:48crossfit not like the community because
- 19:51that was a hundred percent the best part
- 19:53of everything that this thing has to offer
- 19:56but i was just worn thin by the
- 19:59organization like crossfit as an
- 20:01organization wore me out to the point
- 20:04where i just could not i could not
- 20:07see myself like especially once lev was
- 20:10born and i kind of felt this really
- 20:12monumental shift in my priorities
- 20:16The time that I was spending covering
- 20:17CrossFit as an organization felt
- 20:20poisonous.
- 20:21It just didn't.
- 20:26So I feel like there are very parallel
- 20:30stories here with what John Young said the
- 20:33other night on the barbell spin and what
- 20:36we captured with Armin.
- 20:38Gosh, I don't know.
- 20:39It was years ago.
- 20:41Um,
- 20:44I don't even know when that came out.
- 20:46Four years ago, four freaking years ago.
- 20:52So how do you,
- 20:55and I see Sean asking,
- 20:56banging my head against the wall to do
- 20:58what?
- 20:59We're a talk show that talks about
- 21:01CrossFit and we talk about the same things
- 21:06over and over again, the same mistakes,
- 21:09the same things that frustrate us.
- 21:11And it gets old by the end of
- 21:13the season.
- 21:14Like I am done.
- 21:16I don't want to talk about it anymore.
- 21:19That's why I love this show.
- 21:21I love this show because, um,
- 21:26Because we don't always talk about
- 21:27CrossFit.
- 21:28We have fun.
- 21:29We do other things, right?
- 21:31But this is a serious piece.
- 21:34And Jake's in the chat.
- 21:35What's up, Jake?
- 21:36Haven't seen you in a bit.
- 21:38Good, you're back.
- 21:38CrossFit is very simple.
- 21:39There's only so much content one can make
- 21:41around the central stuff.
- 21:45The issue is you say that,
- 21:49but they have this arm that is a
- 21:50sport.
- 21:52And it has a season that goes all
- 21:54year round.
- 21:56People talk about the NFL all year round.
- 21:59People talk about baseball all year round.
- 22:01People talk about other sports all year
- 22:03round.
- 22:06And it's just getting to be hard because
- 22:11you're saying the same things.
- 22:13Nobody is doing anything different.
- 22:16And you're begging.
- 22:17That's why I wanted to dive into WFP.
- 22:20It's going to be different.
- 22:21And it just turned out to be kind
- 22:24of the same old thing.
- 22:26Well, yeah,
- 22:26it's still a CrossFit competition at its
- 22:28base.
- 22:28I mean,
- 22:29even Jason Ansley said that the other day
- 22:31when he was on Pedro's show.
- 22:33Right.
- 22:35But just because you're a CrossFit
- 22:37competition doesn't mean you can't change
- 22:40the format up.
- 22:44And I've made this argument in the past.
- 22:46The CrossFit Games finds the fittest on
- 22:48earth.
- 22:48It has to be a balanced test.
- 22:49It has to meet all these criteria.
- 22:51When you're not that,
- 22:54you can be whatever you want to be.
- 22:57But everybody just dives into,
- 22:58we need to have a balanced test.
- 23:00We need to find the fittest at this
- 23:02competition.
- 23:03No, you don't.
- 23:04You just need to do something fun for
- 23:06competitors to come sign up for.
- 23:13We already have the thing that finds the
- 23:15fittest.
- 23:17We don't need to do that eight more
- 23:18times in a year.
- 23:19Oh, okay.
- 23:21I see what you're saying.
- 23:22Yeah.
- 23:23The games needs to do that.
- 23:25I will concede to that.
- 23:28But Rogue doesn't try to find the fittest.
- 23:31They try to find the coolest shit they
- 23:33can put out on the floor to market
- 23:35their stuff, and it's a different comp,
- 23:37and that's why I enjoy watching it every
- 23:38year.
- 23:39Or the most ridiculous, or sometimes both.
- 23:42Yes.
- 23:45Asima,
- 23:45I like the show because things aren't
- 23:46clipped and posted to IG and YouTube to
- 23:49be taken out of context and spun a
- 23:51narrative to take other shows down.
- 23:54Thank you.
- 23:56You have no idea how many conversations
- 23:58Scott and I have had about that very
- 24:00thing.
- 24:00The fact that we don't.
- 24:01So, yeah,
- 24:02we're not trying to do that by any
- 24:03stretch of imagination.
- 24:05No, I don't disagree, but there's not...
- 24:08Beyond that,
- 24:10so this is another counterpoint or kind of
- 24:14goes hand in hand with that is that,
- 24:16oh, athletes, they won't, you know,
- 24:17WFP is a perfect example.
- 24:18Oh, it's going to be great.
- 24:19More chances to compete,
- 24:20more chances about whatever.
- 24:23And there's only so much competing in
- 24:25CrossFit you can actually do in the span
- 24:28of a year and not be completely broken
- 24:31as an athlete.
- 24:34just isn't so like and you know wfp
- 24:39came out swinging big time you know we've
- 24:42got all these athletes blah blah whatever
- 24:44and then it takes a toll and you
- 24:45see the guys slowly drop off of it
- 24:47slowly drop off of it so there's only
- 24:49so much that that stuff you can do
- 24:51and i'll agree with you that yeah i
- 24:53would there's not there's only so much to
- 24:55talk about it does get super annoying to
- 24:58just be rehashing the same things over and
- 25:01over again but i would also say that
- 25:04I don't know what else we expect them
- 25:07to do because it's not like they've ever
- 25:08listened to media in the first place.
- 25:12But I think that's where the frustration
- 25:14comes in, right?
- 25:15Like if we think about Armin,
- 25:16Armin was in the space for ten years.
- 25:19Yeah.
- 25:20Ten years prior to any of us being
- 25:23in the space.
- 25:24He was the naked CrossFitter.
- 25:26He was the WODcast podcast, right?
- 25:29Like all that stuff that occurred way
- 25:32before any of us jumped into this.
- 25:35And he had a breaking point.
- 25:36He hit a breaking point about that
- 25:38CrossFit just never did anything
- 25:40different.
- 25:41And this is where I worry, right?
- 25:44Because it's not just a sport thing,
- 25:46which is what we focus on on this
- 25:48show and most of the shows focus on.
- 25:52Affiliates are leaving.
- 25:56Affiliates are leaving.
- 25:57We used to have fifteen thousand
- 25:59affiliates.
- 26:00We're somewhere around eight or nine now.
- 26:04That isn't...
- 26:05That is a scary drop in affiliates.
- 26:14Sean in Oregon,
- 26:15I'm an influencer leading voice in my
- 26:17industry.
- 26:17I stopped talking at conferences,
- 26:19publishing articles, et cetera,
- 26:21ten months ago because I have nothing else
- 26:23new to say.
- 26:24So I get it.
- 26:27I think that's what Armin was saying.
- 26:29The John Young thing,
- 26:31you have to listen to it.
- 26:32He makes the analogy to the Matrix that
- 26:34there are people that know what's going on
- 26:36behind the scenes and people that don't.
- 26:38And the people that don't are just kind
- 26:40of like driving aimlessly down the road
- 26:43without knowing what's going on and
- 26:45thinking that everything's going to be
- 26:47great.
- 26:51We've never been in the know on this
- 26:53show.
- 26:54I know a few things,
- 26:58but I've never been in the know or
- 27:01part of any group that's been in the
- 27:03know.
- 27:04I'll tell you,
- 27:05if you're third-party media and you go to
- 27:07the games, there are definitely tears.
- 27:13Oh, I would say so.
- 27:14And I've never been in the games as
- 27:15media or even just as a guest.
- 27:17I have no problem believing that
- 27:20whatsoever.
- 27:20Yeah.
- 27:21some people are going to get treated
- 27:23differently than others yeah and i don't
- 27:27even have a big problem with that and
- 27:31unless it's abused and um people are being
- 27:36very blatant about it
- 27:41Yeah.
- 27:42So I don't know.
- 27:45I just wanted to,
- 27:46people brought it up yesterday.
- 27:47I went, I watched it.
- 27:48I,
- 27:49and I just got to say like after
- 27:51the games,
- 27:52I need to take a step back and
- 27:54I'm actually,
- 27:55I'm going to WFP in another week and
- 27:57a half.
- 27:58I'm actually excited about that.
- 27:59I'm, I'm excited to see,
- 28:04I'm excited to see something different.
- 28:07I just want to see what's there.
- 28:09And I'm telling you this,
- 28:11the infighting in the media,
- 28:13I've said this a million times.
- 28:15I'm so over that.
- 28:19I think it totally brings everything else
- 28:21down.
- 28:24I don't know.
- 28:25I'll never understand it.
- 28:26I really, really don't.
- 28:27Because it's not like there's not enough
- 28:28room for everybody.
- 28:30It makes no sense to me whatsoever.
- 28:33I don't get it.
- 28:34I am eternally grateful.
- 28:38that we are not part of that like
- 28:42every day that i come on here and
- 28:44do this show i am incredibly grateful that
- 28:48we never got caught up in and i
- 28:50have no plans on getting caught up in
- 28:52any of that external you know it's not
- 28:56us and i'm happy for that
- 28:59Peter hanging out in the chat.
- 29:00WFP back in Indianapolis should be good.
- 29:02Jason taking a step forward is great.
- 29:05Listen,
- 29:06that's why I'm excited about WFP because
- 29:08we dogged them pretty hard in season one.
- 29:11yeah they've made changes and the major
- 29:14major change in my opinion is making jason
- 29:16ainsley the front-facing voice of wfp
- 29:20people if you did not watch his interview
- 29:22with peter on peter's show the other day
- 29:24go watch it it's an it's incredibly good
- 29:28because there's no bullshit in jason
- 29:30ainsley there's none whatsoever i'm like
- 29:33i'm so this happened at monster games
- 29:35while we're talking about jason
- 29:37So we did the combine.
- 29:38We were the test mules for the combine.
- 29:41We didn't do the bench press,
- 29:41but we did do the four-yard dash,
- 29:44the five-ten-five, the vertical leap,
- 29:47and the broad jump.
- 29:50They had problems getting all the data
- 29:52together for the four-yard dash and the
- 29:54five-ten-five for whatever reason.
- 29:57Their technology wasn't working exactly
- 29:59right,
- 29:59so they couldn't get everybody's scores
- 30:02in.
- 30:03So what they ended up doing was just
- 30:06deleting those two scores completely.
- 30:08Okay.
- 30:10So the next morning,
- 30:12like that Sunday morning,
- 30:13I wake up to two separate emails from
- 30:15Jason Ansley.
- 30:16The first one is explaining what happened.
- 30:19Hey, the data was corrupted, whatever.
- 30:22We couldn't get all of it.
- 30:23So this is the decision that we made.
- 30:25And he probably sent that sometime
- 30:27Saturday night.
- 30:27I don't know.
- 30:28I didn't check my email that much.
- 30:30Okay.
- 30:32The very next email, because in my app,
- 30:37they come in,
- 30:38the newest one is on top.
- 30:39So I actually read that one first and
- 30:40said, basically, he's like,
- 30:43and this is not a direct quote from
- 30:45Jason.
- 30:45This is me saying basically what he said.
- 30:48Me paraphrasing here is like, hey,
- 30:51all you people who sent me emails back,
- 30:53bitching at me, come find me today.
- 30:56And I will gladly have a conversation with
- 30:58you about as to why we did what
- 31:00we did.
- 31:01I'm sorry if you don't like it,
- 31:03but it was the best and only solution
- 31:06that we had.
- 31:09And that's the kind of dude that he
- 31:10is.
- 31:14I was not blown away because I've had
- 31:17a couple interactions with him before,
- 31:19and I have no problem believing that.
- 31:20But he legitimately told people, hey,
- 31:21I will talk to any and everyone who
- 31:23has an issue.
- 31:24I'm going to be there all day long,
- 31:26and I will talk to everybody that wants
- 31:28to be talked to until everybody is
- 31:32satisfied.
- 31:36Yeah, the bench press,
- 31:37the combine style of the bench press is
- 31:39too hard to judge, I guess.
- 31:41And that makes complete sense.
- 31:43But they are doing a one rep max
- 31:45bench at WFP in a week and a
- 31:48half.
- 31:48It is just,
- 31:49it's not during the combine session.
- 31:51It is later in the weekend.
- 31:53Yeah.
- 31:54So basically is what I'm getting at is
- 31:56that Jay Stansley is that dude.
- 31:59He has no problem talking to anybody who
- 32:01wants to talk to him.
- 32:02We'll have a, you know,
- 32:03a legitimate conversation.
- 32:05Um, he, it was awesome.
- 32:09It was,
- 32:09it was an outstanding interaction with an
- 32:11entire group of people who were highly
- 32:13upset, uh, that they're, you know,
- 32:16the work that they did the day before
- 32:17was not going to get counted.
- 32:19And I understand that.
- 32:21And he did too,
- 32:21but like the hate that he was getting,
- 32:23he was like,
- 32:24y'all want to talk to me,
- 32:24come talk to me.
- 32:25Don't just send me emails randomly behind
- 32:27a wall.
- 32:29So.
- 32:30Having him in short, as like you said,
- 32:33being the front facing for the WFP was
- 32:35probably the smartest thing they did since
- 32:37they've been a thing.
- 32:42Can I just say on another note,
- 32:43watching back those interviews with Armin
- 32:46that we did,
- 32:47I missed that dude so much.
- 32:50People, if you have never...
- 32:52I'm sure that was what you're still on
- 32:53there.
- 32:54Never listen to Scale As Needed,
- 32:57the podcast that he used to do with
- 32:58his friends when they just sat around and
- 33:00talked about whatever was on their mind.
- 33:04And every day, it was S-A-N.
- 33:06So every time they let alone S-A-N stood
- 33:08for something else, which...
- 33:11made my uh my humor heart so so
- 33:16uh so warm because they just made up
- 33:19something new every day it is fantastic to
- 33:21listen to it is outstanding to listen to
- 33:24it's fan is is top tier content if
- 33:27you think we go off the rails no
- 33:30no they didn't even have a train we
- 33:32are just copying
- 33:35We are just copying.
- 33:39We are a cheap copy of S.A.N.
- 33:42and we have no problem with that.
- 33:43It's perfectly fine.
- 33:44It was outstanding.
- 33:48Yeah.
- 33:49Armin was great.
- 33:51You know, we weren't like close friends.
- 33:54We didn't have each other's phone number.
- 33:55But the fact that he would answer my
- 33:58messages and come on the show a couple
- 34:01times.
- 34:02And him and Chase both.
- 34:04Chase I would consider a friend.
- 34:07And love that dude so much.
- 34:10Yep, podcast, podcast.
- 34:12Hell,
- 34:12the old episodes of the CrossFit podcast
- 34:15that are still,
- 34:16as far as I can tell,
- 34:17on Apple Podcasts are also really,
- 34:20really good.
- 34:21The ones from, like,
- 34:21the year or somewhere around there.
- 34:25When Armand got kicked out of the games.
- 34:27Right,
- 34:28when Armand got kicked out of the games,
- 34:29yes.
- 34:29Yeah.
- 34:38So anyway, um,
- 34:41chat's talking about other stuff,
- 34:43trying to stay focused.
- 34:45I did want to lock in the one
- 34:48thing I did.
- 34:49I was listening to the spin and them
- 34:51talking about Jenna too.
- 34:52And I wanted,
- 34:53I had one final thought that best
- 34:55describes Jenna and why I'm sad that she's
- 34:58leaving.
- 34:59I messaged her yesterday and we talked a
- 35:00little bit.
- 35:01so the other thing is i i always
- 35:05was told that when you go visit someone
- 35:08you should leave whatever you have access
- 35:12to in a better place than when you
- 35:14got there leave it better than you found
- 35:16it and the one thing that jenna did
- 35:21was leave that place in a better spot
- 35:25than when she found it because when she
- 35:27found it it was in a really bad
- 35:29place
- 35:30Yeah, underground with a headstone.
- 35:35And she left.
- 35:37And that CMO position is now in a
- 35:41much better place than it was when she
- 35:44got there.
- 35:45Yeah.
- 35:47And so if that's said about me when
- 35:51I go visit somebody or when I go
- 35:53do something,
- 35:54that is the ultimate compliment.
- 35:56And I just wanted that to be said
- 35:58about her.
- 36:01Yeah.
- 36:01Again.
- 36:03I messaged her yesterday and I totally did
- 36:06not expect a response and had a short
- 36:10conversation with her on Messenger
- 36:11yesterday and basically just wished her
- 36:12all the best.
- 36:14Told her everything that we said
- 36:15yesterday.
- 36:16And like you said just now, hey, congrats.
- 36:18Like you took something that was dead and
- 36:20buried and resurrected it.
- 36:21And we can't thank you enough for that
- 36:22because it was needed.
- 36:25Right.
- 36:25A hundred percent was needed.
- 36:28And just wish her, you know,
- 36:29all the best in whatever she does going
- 36:31forward.
- 36:35what actions do you think jenna did that
- 36:37left it in a better place uh i
- 36:40don't think we have enough time jake to
- 36:41lift it list it all off um the
- 36:45documentary she did with the nerd who
- 36:49crossfits or whatever i can never remember
- 36:51her for her name um the one she
- 36:54did with the the the guy who was
- 36:56obese and lost whatever and then showing
- 36:59them going to an l-one
- 37:01Like those things.
- 37:02The marketing,
- 37:04there was nothing before her.
- 37:07Yeah.
- 37:08There just was nothing.
- 37:09And there were actually things I saw that
- 37:13got me inspired, that got me thinking,
- 37:17man, CrossFit is cool.
- 37:20Now, I have had criticisms as well.
- 37:25when nerds teach.
- 37:27The documentary she did on her, amazing.
- 37:30And the fact that she just keeps doing
- 37:32content based on her CrossFit journey is
- 37:36awesome.
- 37:42The other things are she did the F,
- 37:46the quick fix.
- 37:47She did,
- 37:48there was another promotion after that.
- 37:51There are CrossFit commercials,
- 37:54essentially,
- 37:55that show up in different places on social
- 37:58media.
- 38:00And she brought back Road to the Games.
- 38:02She brought back some other,
- 38:05that's just off the top of my head.
- 38:07None of the,
- 38:08all that was gone for years before she
- 38:11jumped in.
- 38:12Going, going.
- 38:13I don't know if you guys remember that
- 38:15or not,
- 38:15but like the last road to the games
- 38:18was what,
- 38:18in two thousand fifteen or sixteen?
- 38:22Maybe, maybe seventeen.
- 38:25I have to go look and see.
- 38:25Maybe Vicky can find out for us.
- 38:27But like it's been quite some time.
- 38:29Well,
- 38:29the media team was fired in eighteen.
- 38:31In eighteen.
- 38:33Yeah,
- 38:33but I don't remember if they if they
- 38:34had shut that down before that or not.
- 38:35Honestly, don't.
- 38:37were still road to the games because
- 38:39sixteen was uh bridges and sixteen was
- 38:42bridges and ants yeah and then everybody
- 38:46unfortunately remembers that one um andrew
- 38:51asked if she's leaving voluntary or being
- 38:53replaced her official response is that she
- 38:56has resigned yeah what that means uh who
- 39:03knows
- 39:05look it's not for us to find out
- 39:09it's really really not we might at some
- 39:12point but that's a decision is she saying
- 39:15she resigned then she resigned like it's
- 39:17not for us to i am a big
- 39:19proponent of that's her story to tell yes
- 39:22yes yes yes that's what i'm trying to
- 39:24get across um
- 39:30Barry asks,
- 39:31who in HQ is responsible for affiliate
- 39:33growth?
- 39:34Every single person.
- 39:35Every person that walks in the door should
- 39:37be a sponsor.
- 39:38That should be the number one priority of
- 39:40everybody who walks in the door at
- 39:41CrossFit HQ.
- 39:43Not even at HQ.
- 39:44I'm going to tell you who else is
- 39:46responsible for affiliate growth.
- 39:47Anybody who goes to an affiliate.
- 39:52True.
- 39:53Any and every person that goes to an
- 39:54affiliate.
- 39:56I am a coach.
- 39:58I am also an athlete.
- 40:00If it comes to CrossFit,
- 40:01I'm an athlete and a coach.
- 40:03It's probably about what and what because
- 40:05I need to get my fitness in as
- 40:06well.
- 40:06Probably more so on the coach side.
- 40:08I want twenty people in every one of
- 40:10my classes.
- 40:13I do.
- 40:14Why?
- 40:14Because that means there's more people
- 40:16getting healthy.
- 40:16That means there's more people enjoying
- 40:18the best hour of their day.
- 40:21Shout out to the best hour of their
- 40:21day, boys.
- 40:23And getting healthy and getting fit.
- 40:25And the more people that are in there
- 40:26doing it,
- 40:26the more people are out there in the
- 40:28world telling other people about it and
- 40:30can get other people cross-fitting and
- 40:33therefore trying to take on the world's
- 40:37most vexing problem head on.
- 40:40So when you say who's responsible for
- 40:41affiliate growth,
- 40:43every person who considers themselves to
- 40:44be a CrossFitter and goes to an affiliate
- 40:46is responsible for affiliate growth,
- 40:48not just the people in HQ.
- 40:51So Barry says,
- 40:52we keep talking about affiliate numbers
- 40:54declining,
- 40:54but who has that as their metric of
- 40:58performance at HQ?
- 41:00I think that's the problem we've had at
- 41:01CrossFit HQ.
- 41:03Yeah.
- 41:04They don't have metrics anymore.
- 41:07Now, I'm not in the building.
- 41:09I don't know if they have metrics or
- 41:10not, but doggone it.
- 41:12If it were me,
- 41:13I would have a poster on the wall
- 41:15of current affiliates and
- 41:19what our goal is and are we achieving
- 41:22any growth at all over the course of
- 41:25whatever?
- 41:27Yeah.
- 41:28The minute they walk into that door,
- 41:30if you're on a football team, uh,
- 41:32they were talking about this the other
- 41:33day, Ben Johnson wants to be the highest,
- 41:36um,
- 41:37powered offense in the history of the NFL.
- 41:40And,
- 41:41and when you walk into the room or
- 41:43into the locker room at house hall,
- 41:45it says strive for greatness, right?
- 41:48Everybody knows what the goal is.
- 41:50Everybody knows walking in.
- 41:53There is no HQ building anymore for people
- 41:57to walk into and be on the same
- 41:59page of going in the same direction.
- 42:02Shout out to Sousa.
- 42:03He's been beating that drum for years now.
- 42:06The fact that there is no actual place
- 42:08for people to come in.
- 42:10But it's more than the building.
- 42:12It is more than the building.
- 42:13But if everybody's in the building...
- 42:16As opposed to, oh, well,
- 42:17I'm here and you're here and then remote
- 42:19and maybe we might see each other once
- 42:21every three months or so,
- 42:22something along those lines.
- 42:25There's no people.
- 42:27If I'm in the room with you,
- 42:28it is way easier for me to hold
- 42:30you accountable or for you to hold me
- 42:31accountable than it is for if I am
- 42:33just doing my work remotely somewhere and
- 42:34maybe I'll get on a call later and
- 42:36maybe I won't.
- 42:38Do I think it works for everybody?
- 42:39No.
- 42:39Do I think it works for somebody like
- 42:41that as far as business growth is
- 42:42concerned and everybody be able to be a
- 42:45lot easier to get on the same page?
- 42:46Absolutely.
- 42:47Absolutely.
- 42:50So Jake,
- 42:50I didn't get a chance to answer your
- 42:52first question,
- 42:52but if you pull up the latest comment
- 42:54of Jake,
- 42:56this is what I would have answered to
- 42:57your last question.
- 42:59I think what she did initially by bringing
- 43:01back the eat meats, veggies,
- 43:04and the pukey,
- 43:05the clown and all that fed into the
- 43:07base that already exists and got them
- 43:10reignited.
- 43:12Then there should have been a transition
- 43:14to,
- 43:15we need to bring in outside people to
- 43:17this thing.
- 43:19I'm not sure that truly happened.
- 43:23Now, I do think Nerds Who Teach,
- 43:25that documentary,
- 43:26could reach other people,
- 43:27but we have to get it to places
- 43:29where other people can see it.
- 43:31It's the same problem with watching the
- 43:33CrossFit Games and having commercials for
- 43:35CrossFit during the breaks.
- 43:39You're selling ice to Eskimos at that
- 43:41point.
- 43:41Like, what are we doing?
- 43:45Yep.
- 43:45Those commercials are great.
- 43:46They really are.
- 43:47If you've watched any of them,
- 43:48they are outstanding.
- 43:50The people who are watching the games,
- 43:52by and large, already get it.
- 43:55They've already bought that product.
- 43:57Just slapping it onto YouTube means that
- 44:00it's going to go into the algorithm for
- 44:02that type of thing,
- 44:04and you're going to be selling it.
- 44:06The same people who watch CrossFit content
- 44:09are going to see it.
- 44:12You're not reaching anybody new.
- 44:14It's one of those, it takes money,
- 44:16you're going to spend money to make money
- 44:17type deal.
- 44:18It needs to be on during something else
- 44:22that is not CrossFit related.
- 44:26Period.
- 44:26Do I think they need to be at
- 44:28a thirty second spot at the Super Bowl?
- 44:30No, we don't have that kind of money.
- 44:32Not currently,
- 44:33but should it be on during a baseball
- 44:36game or during a basketball game or
- 44:39something along those lines?
- 44:41Sure.
- 44:42Why not?
- 44:42Why not have a, you know,
- 44:44pay for some ads during another,
- 44:45at least a sporting event.
- 44:47People were watching sporting events.
- 44:50This is my completely, totally,
- 44:53and probably really off-base opinion here,
- 44:56but are more likely to be people who
- 44:59would want to go and work out and
- 45:00do those type of things if you're watching
- 45:03that kind of shit.
- 45:09So, Jake, conceptually,
- 45:13I understand what you're saying.
- 45:15Zlatan probably gained CrossFit
- 45:16affiliates,
- 45:17a thousand members worldwide with one
- 45:19post.
- 45:20We don't have a metric to show us
- 45:22that.
- 45:22So back to Barry's comment,
- 45:25how do you measure that?
- 45:29And this is getting way in the weeds
- 45:31of shit that is back into my business
- 45:34background and my MBA.
- 45:37The issue that CrossFit has is it throws
- 45:39spaghetti at the wall.
- 45:41And you can't measure it.
- 45:43You can't measure the effect of the
- 45:45spaghetti because you've thrown so much
- 45:47shit up there.
- 45:48You don't know what any single piece of
- 45:51that pasta has done to make an impact.
- 45:55Yep.
- 45:58And they've always been that way.
- 46:00They've always just thrown shit up.
- 46:05Now, we're at a point in the growth,
- 46:10and I've talked about this earlier in the
- 46:11week,
- 46:11from a small business to a medium business
- 46:13to a large business,
- 46:16the thought process has to change because
- 46:18you have to think of things differently.
- 46:24When you're a small business,
- 46:25you can throw shit at the wall,
- 46:26and it's still going to have an impact.
- 46:28And it doesn't really matter which way it
- 46:30comes from,
- 46:31but you have to know where you're spending
- 46:32money and where is the value coming back
- 46:35from that money that you spent.
- 46:38Making a commercial that's only going to
- 46:40air to your base,
- 46:41is that money well spent?
- 46:43No.
- 46:45It's not.
- 46:46I don't give a damn who says what
- 46:47about anything.
- 46:48Are those things cool?
- 46:50Yes.
- 46:51Those things are fun to watch when you
- 46:52see the guy that, uh,
- 46:54the one that he did with Scott Pancheck
- 46:55with the older fellow that was at Scott
- 46:57Pancheck's, uh,
- 46:58that one was outstanding to watch and they
- 47:02made it into an ad basically.
- 47:04And it's fun, but okay.
- 47:06We already,
- 47:07like we get that people have seen that
- 47:09kind of stuff at their local affiliate.
- 47:11There is more,
- 47:12more than likely a chance that that kind
- 47:14of stuff has already been seen at your
- 47:15local affiliate.
- 47:15So why are you showing it to us?
- 47:19Not that we don't want to see it,
- 47:21but money well spent,
- 47:23money better spent is to send it somewhere
- 47:25else where it's actually going to get some
- 47:27traction.
- 47:29One of the things that used to be
- 47:33done very well was the website was kept
- 47:36up and it had relevant information on it.
- 47:41And when you did search engine
- 47:44optimization of that stuff,
- 47:48then people were finding it because it
- 47:50wasn't in an algorithm.
- 47:52People were searching for certain things.
- 47:55Now the website is so freaking confusing.
- 47:58Yeah.
- 47:58Does it look more modern?
- 48:00Yeah.
- 48:00It's not white and black text on,
- 48:03but is it easy to navigate?
- 48:05No.
- 48:10That is the first thing I would do
- 48:12as the chief marketing officers.
- 48:15Get people to open up your website or
- 48:18make an app that people are interested in.
- 48:23And again,
- 48:24I'm just spitballing off the top of my
- 48:26head because I have not sat down and
- 48:28thought about a marketing strategy for
- 48:30CrossFit.
- 48:32As it turns out.
- 48:38uh you gonna get that one the wayne
- 48:41one uh there isn't a voice outside of
- 48:43the crossfit community hell cindy is now
- 48:45known as the spider-man challenge because
- 48:47the general population has no clue and
- 48:50that is on crossfit amen wayne that is
- 48:53incredibly frustrating the fact that
- 48:57crossfit hasn't jumped on that that piece
- 49:01of content
- 49:03and blowed it up because now you have
- 49:06people looking for tom holland people
- 49:08looking for spider-man not just crossfit
- 49:15and if you listen to him he says
- 49:18it's a crossfit workout like from the
- 49:21original thing and then he explains what
- 49:23it is and instead people skipped right
- 49:26over that they're like let's do the
- 49:27spider-man challenge
- 49:30Mind-blowing.
- 49:31Mind-blowing.
- 49:33I would have him slowly get that clip
- 49:36of him saying that,
- 49:37and then when he says, it's a CrossFit,
- 49:39we're CrossFit, CrossFit,
- 49:43and just say it six times,
- 49:44and then he cut to somebody else going,
- 49:46yeah, it's called Cindy.
- 49:48So here's the disconnect, Jake.
- 49:51Yes, they did it eight months ago.
- 49:54Hey, I don't know if you know this,
- 49:55but a new freaking Spider-Man movie came
- 49:57out two weeks ago.
- 50:00It's projected to do two billion dollars
- 50:02worldwide.
- 50:03So guess what's back at the top of
- 50:05people's minds?
- 50:07Spider-Man.
- 50:09And the guy who plays him does CrossFit.
- 50:13He's on every talk show right now.
- 50:16Not eight months ago.
- 50:18Right now.
- 50:22Now's the time when you want to jump
- 50:24on these activities.
- 50:29Oh, and FYI, Tom Holland's ripped.
- 50:33The couple of times that he's been in
- 50:35the movie or whatnot,
- 50:36like when he's without a shirt,
- 50:37the dude is ripped.
- 50:40And they're calling it Tom Holland's
- 50:42Spider-Man workout.
- 50:44Oh, my God.
- 50:45Scroll down a little bit.
- 50:46Scroll down a little bit.
- 50:48Spider-Man hit workout.
- 50:50Hit.
- 50:52Hit workout.
- 50:53Why is this?
- 50:55Good God, people.
- 50:57It's a freaking CrossFit workout.
- 51:05I just got a headache.
- 51:06Oh, my God.
- 51:07Joseph Ramirez says Spider-Man is washed.
- 51:09It broke the record for box office in
- 51:13the history of movies week one.
- 51:15Yeah.
- 51:22That's another one.
- 51:23Yes.
- 51:23Patrick Clark.
- 51:23Thank you.
- 51:24The thing we talked about last week with
- 51:26Patrick Wilson doing grace.
- 51:29Yes.
- 51:30Not even doing grace,
- 51:31just doing a bunch of power cleans,
- 51:32but whatever.
- 51:33Same, almost the same thing.
- 51:35And why he thought it looked cool.
- 51:42Joseph Tyson Bajan is a nice story and
- 51:46I'm a Chicago bears fan and I love
- 51:47him to death,
- 51:48but he's a backup quarterback in the NFL.
- 51:51Tom Holland just starred in the number one
- 51:53box office movie in the world for in
- 51:58box office in the history of movies.
- 52:01Yeah.
- 52:03If you haven't seen it, it's so good.
- 52:06Just throwing that out there.
- 52:08Are you freaking kidding me?
- 52:10Like the opportunity was right there to
- 52:13grab and nothing was done.
- 52:16No,
- 52:17we're going to call it a hit workout
- 52:19on YouTube.
- 52:19We're going to call it the Spider-Man
- 52:22workout.
- 52:23Tom Holland, Spider-Man workout.
- 52:25No, it was Cindy.
- 52:27Yeah, still is FYI.
- 52:30I go do it right now.
- 52:32It'll still be Cindy.
- 52:34It has nothing to do with, with,
- 52:35with Spider-Man other than the fact that
- 52:37Tom's like, oh,
- 52:38when I'm pressed for time and it,
- 52:42this is another, this, this, another,
- 52:44lots of people doing the Murph challenge
- 52:45have no idea.
- 52:46It's a CrossFit workout.
- 52:48That's the, a problem.
- 52:52That's a problem.
- 52:56jake jake said funny funny how they don't
- 53:02do fran yeah you know why it hurts
- 53:07well and um the cape fear guy uh
- 53:11my the name is patrick wilson said that
- 53:16they have to film this like twenty
- 53:18different times
- 53:19If he were going to do Fran twenty
- 53:21times, he wouldn't survive the day.
- 53:25He had to find something that was doable
- 53:27over and over again.
- 53:29Can you imagine, so you did Fran once,
- 53:32say Patrick Wilson's got a three minute
- 53:34Fran, three and a half minute Fran.
- 53:36You're now dusted for the next ten minutes
- 53:38before you can get up and move around
- 53:40and think about doing it again.
- 53:44But Ken,
- 53:44if I want to see Fran on Cape
- 53:47Fear, I don't want it scaled.
- 53:49no no not at all not even close
- 53:56as a matter of fact oh yeah i
- 53:59i just tried to picture like i got
- 54:01a name ten takes of somebody doing fran
- 54:06Jesus Christ, you'd be wrecked, dude.
- 54:08Why does my pee look like Coca-Cola?
- 54:10I don't understand.
- 54:11This doesn't feel right at all.
- 54:13Something's wrong, bro.
- 54:17Patrick actually admitted that the cleans
- 54:19were just the easiest to repeat over and
- 54:22over and over again.
- 54:23Yeah, because somebody was like,
- 54:24why don't you do snatches?
- 54:25He's like, oh, no, we're not doing that.
- 54:31And they were good form.
- 54:33They were good cleans.
- 54:34Yeah.
- 54:35He actually did.
- 54:37Yeah.
- 54:37He actually did have decent form and he
- 54:40looks, he's ripped dude.
- 54:42Like clearly that's not the first time
- 54:44he's done them.
- 54:45First of all, so you do enough, hundred,
- 54:50thirty-five pound cleans.
- 54:51It will ruin your day.
- 54:56All right, let's go off.
- 54:59I have to get back to work.
- 55:01However, however,
- 55:04I have to rip on you one last
- 55:06time.
- 55:07Oh, please.
- 55:08Because Vicky and I talked about doing the
- 55:10Dumb Dumb Stupid Pants Award of the Week.
- 55:12The DDSP.
- 55:12And taking nominees throughout the week.
- 55:16And we have been very reluctant to get
- 55:19those nominees or remember to even
- 55:21advertise it as an award.
- 55:23As a thing.
- 55:25But...
- 55:27So I'm doing a bad job.
- 55:28I am not marketing to my people the
- 55:31way I should for the Dumb Dumb Stupid
- 55:33Pants Award.
- 55:34It's a cry in shame.
- 55:36But I want to hand out the Dumb
- 55:38Dumb Stupid Pants Award of the week.
- 55:40Sure.
- 55:41And it goes to Jaden Daniels.
- 55:43Oh, yeah, a hundred percent.
- 55:45He should get two.
- 55:46I don't even know if it goes to
- 55:47him or if it goes to his mom.
- 55:48He should get two.
- 55:51Well,
- 55:51one for him and one for his mom
- 55:53because she's going to have to give him
- 55:54his anyway.
- 55:56The memes that have been flying around.
- 56:00Did you know that five guys changed their
- 56:02name to four guys because they don't know
- 56:04if they can use the five permission from
- 56:09Jane Daniels to use the five?
- 56:10Yeah.
- 56:11FYI,
- 56:12a lot of businesses across the country are
- 56:15switching from nine to five to nine to
- 56:17four.
- 56:18So if you're hearing this right now,
- 56:19go ahead and leave an hour early for
- 56:21work and you can thank Jaden Daniels
- 56:22later.
- 56:25When I heard his teammates on the
- 56:26commanders are no longer giving high
- 56:28fives,
- 56:30they are now giving high fours because
- 56:34they just want to respect his number.
- 56:37So yesterday we talked about how he
- 56:39compared himself to Joe Burrow,
- 56:41yet Joe Burrow won a national
- 56:42championship, went undefeated,
- 56:45embraced the city,
- 56:46changed the spelling of his last name to
- 56:49E-A-U-X, all that stuff.
- 56:53The piece that I forgot about until you
- 56:56sent me a reel was that Jaden Daniels
- 56:59refused to play in the bowl game for
- 57:03LSU.
- 57:05And the Cheez-It Bowl.
- 57:07And then he's going to sue LSU and
- 57:12give me everything back because you gave
- 57:14my number five to another player.
- 57:17And it wasn't even,
- 57:18it was the Cheez-It Bowl.
- 57:21You didn't treat me like Joe Burrow,
- 57:23the legend.
- 57:28Mind-blowing, dude.
- 57:29Absolutely mind-blowing.
- 57:31Oh, Jody, sorry.
- 57:32You're in here late.
- 57:33Apparently you weren't here yesterday.
- 57:35Jaden Daniels' people, his team,
- 57:38excuse me.
- 57:40He made a statement himself.
- 57:41I'm not excusing him anymore.
- 57:43Yeah, no, no, no, no.
- 57:46Sent a cease and desist to LSU to
- 57:50no longer use his name, image,
- 57:52and likeness because he feels offended
- 57:55that somebody else is going to use the
- 57:56number five.
- 57:57So apparently he's the only person on the
- 57:59planet that can use the number five.
- 58:02Sorry.
- 58:02If you are a NASCAR driver and you
- 58:04happen to have number five,
- 58:07sorry about your luck.
- 58:08You're going to have to go ahead and
- 58:09change that.
- 58:09I don't know if anybody had told you.
- 58:14Wayne Short says, first home game,
- 58:16LSU should give away number five picket
- 58:18jerseys.
- 58:18You're not going to have to.
- 58:19First,
- 58:20DJ Pickett is going to be one of
- 58:22the top cornerbacks in the league this
- 58:24year.
- 58:25Secondly,
- 58:26you know how many jerseys they're going to
- 58:27sell just because it's got number five on
- 58:29the back of it?
- 58:31I'm going to give you a hint.
- 58:32It's a lot.
- 58:35It is a lot, a whole lot.
- 58:40Oh, it's fantastic.
- 58:49Yeah.
- 58:49No.
- 58:49So if I'd make a Jersey number four
- 58:51plus one, the flag is thrown.
- 58:54Whistle gets blown.
- 58:56It's a,
- 58:58Offsides, number seventy-three offense.
- 59:01Six-yard penalty, still first.
- 59:06I'm going to take a wild stab in
- 59:07the dark and guess that Barry McOchner is
- 59:09an Eagles fan.
- 59:12Probably.
- 59:13He has talked about the Eagles owning the
- 59:15commanders, owning Jaden Daniels,
- 59:16owning everything for the last five
- 59:19minutes.
- 59:20So I'm just taking a wild stab in
- 59:22the dark that he is a fan of
- 59:25the team that puts out a promo video
- 59:29of his quarterback throwing an
- 59:30interception.
- 59:37Just, you know,
- 59:39because we love Jalen Hurts so much.
- 59:42Let's put out a promo video of him
- 59:46throwing an interception.
- 59:48See, now that he said that Cinco,
- 59:50so Wayne Short said we had Ocho and
- 59:52now we have Cinco.
- 59:55I also found out that Cinco de Mayo
- 59:57is no longer going to be called Cinco
- 59:59de Mayo.
- 59:59It's going to be called Cinco de Jail
- 1:00:02in honor of Jaden Daniels.
- 1:00:06uh patrick's right santa owns the eagles
- 1:00:11the only town that santa gets booed in
- 1:00:16the eagles fans are rough dude eagles fans
- 1:00:20are rough
- 1:00:27Oh, good night.
- 1:00:28So I do have a new fun thing,
- 1:00:30and I'm going to hit this, Vicky.
- 1:00:32This is what happened to Jalen Hurts when
- 1:00:37they threw that interception.
- 1:00:38Son of a bitch!
- 1:00:49Oh, that's good.
- 1:00:53I need to go watch the new episodes.
- 1:00:54I really need to go watch the new
- 1:00:55episodes.
- 1:00:57That is so good.
- 1:00:59That may be the funniest thing I've seen
- 1:01:00on TV all year.
- 1:01:03Yeah.
- 1:01:05That is outstanding.
- 1:01:07I'm trying not to just,
- 1:01:08I'm trying to hold it.
- 1:01:09I'm trying to hold it together.
- 1:01:10I was laughing so hard yesterday.
- 1:01:11My abs hurt.
- 1:01:12It was fantastic.
- 1:01:17Um, my cheeky little laugh.
- 1:01:18Thanks, Jake.
- 1:01:19Um, well, I laughed a lot yesterday.
- 1:01:21I posted a thing.
- 1:01:22If you only knew what happened after the
- 1:01:24show,
- 1:01:24we're going to quickly tell you what
- 1:01:26happened after the show yesterday.
- 1:01:27Let's get the quick recap going on.
- 1:01:28Let's get the,
- 1:01:29we want to bring Vicki in.
- 1:01:30You actually want to bring Vicki in so
- 1:01:32she can, she can try to defend herself.
- 1:01:34No, cause there's no, no, no.
- 1:01:37No,
- 1:01:37we're not going to let her speak because
- 1:01:39we were there.
- 1:01:40We witnessed it.
- 1:01:41So I said to Corey that my wife
- 1:01:44and I are thinking about coming to New
- 1:01:45Orleans for our thirtieth wedding
- 1:01:46anniversary as part of a tour that we're
- 1:01:49going to do because she wants to see
- 1:01:51New Orleans.
- 1:01:52And a lot of conversation happened in the
- 1:01:55middle there.
- 1:01:55But then Vicki said.
- 1:01:59Vicki said,
- 1:02:00make sure you go to that hotel that
- 1:02:02serves breakfast, brunch.
- 1:02:04Brunch.
- 1:02:05The historic hotel.
- 1:02:07The historic hotel that serves brunch.
- 1:02:09And Corey's like,
- 1:02:10every hotel in New Orleans is a historic
- 1:02:12hotel that serves brunch.
- 1:02:15So all of them.
- 1:02:16And Vicki keeps going, you know the one.
- 1:02:20The one that serves brunch.
- 1:02:22And it has the ducks.
- 1:02:23And then Corey's going, the ducks?
- 1:02:26What the hell are you talking about,
- 1:02:28the ducks?
- 1:02:30I don't know a single hotel that serves
- 1:02:32brunch with ducks.
- 1:02:33Never.
- 1:02:34We eat ducks.
- 1:02:36Yeah, I said we eat ducks.
- 1:02:37But you can get ducks served to you.
- 1:02:39And she was like, you know,
- 1:02:42the chef comes in and they bring ducks
- 1:02:43inside and it goes into the – never
- 1:02:46in my life heard about it.
- 1:02:48Turns out Vicky is frantically typing on
- 1:02:51her keyboard to prove us wrong.
- 1:02:54She goes, it's the Peabody Hotel.
- 1:02:57And Corey's like,
- 1:02:58I don't know a Peabody Hotel.
- 1:03:00And Vicky goes, it's in Memphis.
- 1:03:02It's in Memphis.
- 1:03:03Damn it.
- 1:03:05I don't know if y'all notice or not.
- 1:03:07This isn't going to be a spoiler alert
- 1:03:08to some people, but Memphis from my house,
- 1:03:11my house is forty five minutes from New
- 1:03:12Orleans.
- 1:03:13Memphis from my house is about six and
- 1:03:14a half hours away.
- 1:03:16If they're bringing ducks from Memphis to
- 1:03:20New Orleans every single day,
- 1:03:23that's dedication.
- 1:03:24I'm just just throwing it out there.
- 1:03:28Oh.
- 1:03:32anyway people dog my wife for wanting to
- 1:03:34go to new orleans she is an interior
- 1:03:36designer who studied architecture she
- 1:03:39wants to go see the architecture of the
- 1:03:41buildings there that's why she wants to go
- 1:03:44we're not there to drink and party and
- 1:03:46all the no the whatnot we are there
- 1:03:49for like architecture and maybe a beignet
- 1:03:52at the cafe dumont and i'm gonna make
- 1:03:54him a gumbo uh you know the ducks
- 1:04:00now make sense
- 1:04:04Some stuff you got to wait for, Mark.
- 1:04:05Some stuff you got to wait for.

- 1:04:09Jody's.
- 1:04:11Tell her to Google pictures.
- 1:04:17Just go tell Julie.
- 1:04:19Hey, Jules.
- 1:04:22We talked about you wanting to go to
- 1:04:23New Orleans on the show today and the
- 1:04:25chat said you should just use Google
- 1:04:27because it would be just like being there.
- 1:04:34Listen, it's our,
- 1:04:36it's our thirtieth anniversary.
- 1:04:37If she wants to go to New Orleans,
- 1:04:39we're going to New Orleans.
- 1:04:40And hey,
- 1:04:40if I can stop by and see Corey
- 1:04:42in person.
- 1:04:43Absolutely.
- 1:04:44And get a little gumbo out of the
- 1:04:46deal.
- 1:04:47I'll have dinner waiting.
- 1:04:53But anyway, with that, guys.
- 1:04:55Hold on, one last thing.
- 1:04:56Patrick Clark, this is about the same,
- 1:04:58this is about the same thing.
- 1:04:59Go to the Voodoo Museum.
- 1:05:01Which one?
- 1:05:08Anyway, let's go.
- 1:05:11What is more plentiful?
- 1:05:14Historic hotels that serve brunch or
- 1:05:16voodoo museums?
- 1:05:17That's about what and what.
- 1:05:22Most of the historic hotels have voodoo
- 1:05:25museums inside.
- 1:05:28The ones that aren't haunted.
- 1:05:31And guess what?
- 1:05:32They're all haunted.
- 1:05:36Guys, my abs.
- 1:05:37I'm going to have washboard abs from all
- 1:05:38the laughing I've done this week.
- 1:05:43Scott's going to be like,
- 1:05:44I woke up yesterday and I had to
- 1:05:46do a figure competition from all the
- 1:05:47laughing that we did.
- 1:05:50Andrew Sten has a recommendation.
- 1:05:51Go to that place that sells pro boys.
- 1:05:54Yeah.
- 1:05:55Yeah.
- 1:05:57A hundred percent.
- 1:05:59Or that place that sells jambalaya.

- 1:06:50we building that brand.
