Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: It's too early. Too early? Too early for what? It's
- 0:04Speaker 1: too early for this. I come in this morning and
- 0:07Speaker 1: someone's a little off kilter. Someone is slightly agitated. Well,
- 0:12Speaker 1: first of all, the most exciting news ever yesterday afternoon,
- 0:16Speaker 1: the most hotly anticipated news, that Radiohead are coming to Australia. Now,
- 0:21Speaker 1: Radiohead is one of my very, very, very favourite bands.
- 0:25Speaker 1: In fact, could we just have a little musical accompaniment
- 0:28Speaker 1: to keep me calm during... So Radiohead are coming and
- 0:31Speaker 1: they're doing four, if you don't mind, shows at the
- 0:35Speaker 1: RAC Arena in May. May the 3rd, the 4th, the
- 0:39Speaker 1: 6th and the 7th. May the 4th be with you.
- 0:42Speaker 1: So that is beyond exciting. So you're thinking, well, we're
- 0:46Speaker 1: all going to go. We're all going to Radiohead because
- 0:48Speaker 1: they're doing four shows. But no, it's not that simple.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Then you find there is this registration process. One must
- 0:56Speaker 1: go to Frontier Touring or whatever and register for for
- 0:59Speaker 1: the opportunity to buy tickets to go and see Radiohead. Now,
- 1:03Speaker 1: they say this is the registration process is to give
- 1:07Speaker 1: fans fair access to tickets and minimise automated and unauthorised purchases.
- 1:12Speaker 1: They're doing four shows. How hard is it going to
- 1:16Speaker 1: be to get to go and see Radiohead? So what
- 1:19Speaker 1: happens now is I went yesterday. I had to register.
- 1:21Speaker 1: You go and you register. You've got until Thursday afternoon
- 1:26Speaker 1: to register. That's when they close. So then on Friday,
- 1:29Speaker 1: so you put all your details in. And then on Friday,
- 1:32Speaker 1: successful and unsuccessful registrants will be emailed with the next steps.
- 1:38Speaker 1: It's like a magical mystery tour. So you don't even
- 1:42Speaker 1: know if you're going to be successful to be allowed
- 1:44Speaker 1: to buy tickets. Why can't I have a go? So
- 1:47Speaker 1: then on Tuesday, successful registrants are sent chance to purchase
- 1:51Speaker 1: ticket access emails. And then on Tuesday later in the day, no,
- 1:57Speaker 1: on Thursday, yeah, no, Tuesday later in the day, there
- 2:00Speaker 1: is the chance to purchase window will be open and
- 2:04Speaker 1: you try to buy tickets. I don't understand any of this.
- 2:09Speaker 1: I mean, I've registered to make sure that I'm on
- 2:11Speaker 1: the list. More music, please, Mr. Radiohead. Thank you very much.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Thank you, Tom. With an H. But what is this about?
- 2:17Speaker 1: So now you're on their mailing list. Yes, I know, but...
- 2:21Speaker 1: It's when I had to try and get Taylor Swift
- 2:23Speaker 1: tickets for my daughter. No, I didn't tick that box.
- 2:25Speaker 1: I didn't tick that box. Right. I didn't want your mail.
- 2:29Speaker 1: And anyway, you can straight away unsubscribe, can't you, from anything? But,
- 2:32Speaker 1: I mean, they're doing four shows. And tickets, you know,
- 2:37Speaker 1: ranging price from... There are some for $ 139, up to $ 700- odd.
- 2:42Speaker 1: The average price is $ 200. So how many, you know,
- 2:44Speaker 1: we've got this cost of living crisis. How many people
- 2:47Speaker 1: are going every single night? It's not going to be
- 2:50Speaker 1: surely that hard. God, I've had therapists that are more understanding. Well, look. Yeah.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Anyone else perplexed by this? I don't want to upset you.
- 3:03Speaker 1: It's a lot of hoops. But I'm really not that
- 3:04Speaker 1: worked up about this. I know, but it's a lot.
- 3:06Speaker 1: Because when it comes to Radiohead, I never really cared
- 3:10Speaker 1: for them. Really? Never. Oh, they're fantastic. Probably upset you
- 3:14Speaker 1: now even more. No, I mean, I don't care. To
- 3:17Speaker 1: each their own. Well, whatever. I think Radiohead are just
- 3:20Speaker 1: one of the greatest bands of all time. I can tell.
- 3:23Speaker 1: And I've never seen them in concert. Well, you may
- 3:26Speaker 1: not yet. Tell me about it. If they're playing four
- 3:30Speaker 1: shows and I don't get to go and see them.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Last time when they came, they were only on the
- 3:34Speaker 1: East Coast and I wanted to go over, but the
- 3:36Speaker 1: tickets were all sold out. Producer Charlie, do we need
- 3:39Speaker 1: to wrap her up now? I think so. I mean,
- 3:41Speaker 1: this radio here, it's not like it's the Backstreet Boys,
- 3:43Speaker 1: who are the most fabulous band ever existing. Oh, my God.
- 3:46Speaker 1: It's not like it's a Spice Girls reunion. You're really, like,
- 3:48Speaker 1: going to be sick. Anyway, I'll keep you posted. Please do.
- 3:54Speaker 1: You're very upset. Because if I'm not selected, what does
- 3:57Speaker 1: that say about me? Come back, Tom. Here we go.
- 4:01Speaker 1: What does that say about you? Karma police will be
- 4:05Speaker 1: out for them if I don't get selected for my tickets.
