- 0:45Speaker 1: very welcome.
- 0:46Speaker 2: That was very handy.

- 0:54Speaker 2: Fuck Yeah, we'll talk after the show. Yes, we will handy.
- 1:01Speaker 1: Okay, afternoon ritual. Soon as we finished the episode, I finish.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Look, Daddy's naming another character after.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Okay, so we're trying to get the trifecta one in
- 1:14Speaker 1: every book.
- 1:18Speaker 2: Fuck yeah, Well, this is gonna be a bit of
- 1:23Speaker 2: a chill show. I know we did a chill show
- 1:26Speaker 2: like two episodes ago or some shit like that. But listen,
- 1:31Speaker 2: May has been a fucking nightmare and we're just glad
- 1:34Speaker 2: to see the back of it. May has been one
- 1:38Speaker 2: of the most awful months I think of this entire year.
- 1:42Speaker 2: And that's saying something because this year has not been good.
- 1:46Speaker 2: But we're glad to see the back of it. We're
- 1:48Speaker 2: just kind of chilling. Augusts not feeling. I've had a
- 1:53Speaker 2: really rough ass week. Uh CJ has had a really
- 1:56Speaker 2: rough ass week. Speaking of which, we have a guest
- 1:59Speaker 2: with us for because motherfucker needs some goddamn chill. CJ
- 2:04Speaker 2: has had an even worse week than I've had.
- 2:07Speaker 3: What's up, buddy, it's you know, it's two in a row.
- 2:11Speaker 3: Is like, I think it's a first for me. So
- 2:13Speaker 3: I'm very excited about that. You know, it's like I
- 2:19Speaker 3: have last week's result. Thank god Oggie's back because at
- 2:22Speaker 3: least it's running somewhat smoothly.
- 2:25Speaker 4: Right.
- 2:28Speaker 2: Kind of, yeah, the podcast is sort of running smoothly.
- 2:31Speaker 3: We had no we had no audience, no count ins,
- 2:34Speaker 3: no nothing.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Last week the number or two said yeah, it's one time.
- 2:40Speaker 3: I think you said five and that was it.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Then immediately pressed the button because he's a jackass.
- 2:48Speaker 1: I want to be able to write the time down.
- 2:50Speaker 1: I'm just trying to get easier for the editor. That's
- 2:52Speaker 1: all trying to do the times for the editor. That
- 2:57Speaker 1: dude works hard man, and we all got to give
- 2:59Speaker 1: him some.
- 3:00Speaker 2: So yeah, so no games this time, no stress, We're
- 3:04Speaker 2: just gonna chill talk about stuff. Hopefully.
- 3:09Speaker 3: I can't tie.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I know you can't tie. You can't win either,
- 3:13Speaker 2: but I.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Mean, can't we all just win?
- 3:16Speaker 2: I mean I suppose we could.
- 3:17Speaker 1: I mean you're the host man, you get to decide
- 3:19Speaker 1: at the end of.
- 3:20Speaker 2: This make sense, I'll decide at the end of the
- 3:23Speaker 2: show whether you guys win or not.
- 3:25Speaker 3: You can treat this like Who's line and just give
- 3:27Speaker 3: random points out throughout the you.
- 3:29Speaker 2: Know what, I like that even better. Okay, I'm just
- 3:32Speaker 2: whenever the lot of you says something I really like,
- 3:34Speaker 2: I'm gonna give you a point, and whoever has most
- 3:36Speaker 2: points at the end of the episode wins the game.
- 3:39Speaker 2: That's all gonna be. That's all it's gonna be. You
- 3:42Speaker 2: can say whatever if I like it, if I think
- 3:45Speaker 2: it's intelligent, but I think it's funny, if I if
- 3:47Speaker 2: I just if I just find it charming, Fuck, I'll
- 3:49Speaker 2: give you a point. So I'll just I'm just gonna
- 3:52Speaker 2: start keeping track of those.
- 3:53Speaker 3: Now I'm gonna lose.
- 3:58Speaker 2: That is a point for CJ because that's that is
- 4:02Speaker 2: that is fucking funny. So that's the point for you.
- 4:04Speaker 2: You're you're off the mark and you have one.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Yeah, that's never happened before. Oh yeah, he's one.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Shut up.
- 4:13Speaker 1: No, I mean ahead and winning.
- 4:16Speaker 2: Oh well, I don't know. I don't remember how it
- 4:22Speaker 2: went on the one episode he won, but he did win,
- 4:25Speaker 2: so shut up. It was memorable anyway. It was memorable
- 4:29Speaker 2: because it was the only time it happened.
- 4:31Speaker 3: What a dick.
- 4:34Speaker 2: Wow, let's uh just chill and chat about some fun ship.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Has anybody been up to anything fun? Whatsoever?
- 4:47Speaker 1: Fun include like adult stuff.
- 4:49Speaker 2: Depends on what kind of adult stuff.
- 4:56Speaker 3: Damn yeah, I I I got to hang out with
- 4:59Speaker 3: this mother and play Rocket League last night.
- 5:02Speaker 1: For like, I forgot about that ship, so, uh, DJ's
- 5:09Speaker 1: ant the c J there reached out to me. It's like, Yo,
- 5:12Speaker 1: what up, I'll play some games and ship and maybe
- 5:15Speaker 1: have some people watch us. They're like voyeurism but with
- 5:18Speaker 1: a chat room, and I'm just.
- 5:21Speaker 2: Yes, stream, that's gonna be a point to Stevie.
- 5:26Speaker 3: Yeah, I think that.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Chat room got about the points. Fucking So I reached
- 5:36Speaker 1: out to the Pantiless Wonder and Ship and I'm like, yo, dude,
- 5:39Speaker 1: let's play some Rocket League. Let's artie it up.
- 5:42Speaker 2: And I was like, funk off. I'm just like, I
- 5:49Speaker 2: have plans already. I'm sorry, I want to, but I
- 5:53Speaker 2: gotta go. I want to, but I don't.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Want It's like I get it, I get it. And
- 5:57Speaker 1: then I was not feeling well. I think right, that's
- 6:02Speaker 1: when you were sick.
- 6:03Speaker 3: Yeah, it all kind of runs.
- 6:07Speaker 1: He's either sick or tired or sick and tired, probably
- 6:10Speaker 1: off my ship being sick.
- 6:13Speaker 2: He's sick and tired of being sick and tired.
- 6:16Speaker 1: Right, But we got we got this dream going on
- 6:19Speaker 1: Twitch under the midnight smoke. Oh one thing I don't know.
- 6:23Speaker 1: It's a Twitch dot com slash I think Twitch TV. Yeah,
- 6:27Speaker 1: go there and look for me slash midnight smoke on one.
- 6:30Speaker 1: Yeah that one. Figure me out. You won't be able
- 6:33Speaker 1: to know.
- 6:33Speaker 3: No one can.
- 6:38Speaker 1: From all angles. But c J joined me, and after
- 6:43Speaker 1: some very long troubleshooting and me trying to prove to
- 6:46Speaker 1: the game I'm a fucking adult, I was able to
- 6:49Speaker 1: join chat. Finally. How long did that.
- 6:54Speaker 2: His own account?
- 6:55Speaker 1: I was no, I was there, Everything was fine, but
- 6:57Speaker 1: I had to agree to something, but when I clicked it,
- 7:01Speaker 1: nothing would pop up, so I could never agree to
- 7:03Speaker 1: anything going to the website. It took forever, and then
- 7:07Speaker 1: finally I had to. I figured it out because I
- 7:10Speaker 1: had to have the Epic store open. Even though I'm
- 7:12Speaker 1: playing a Steam game. The store had to be opened
- 7:14Speaker 1: for this glitch to bypass it. And that's all it was,
- 7:17Speaker 1: and I'm like, fuck you, and then the thing popped up.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Do yougree?
- 7:20Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 7:20Speaker 1: Fuck you? I agree, and then we get in there
- 7:23Speaker 1: and then we couldn't hear CJ for a while.
- 7:28Speaker 3: That was I don't know what, something like broke. I
- 7:32Speaker 3: had to reset my headset or something. I don't know
- 7:35Speaker 3: what happened there, but that only took that only took
- 7:38Speaker 3: like two minutes to sore now compared to the hour
- 7:41Speaker 3: it took its figure out smokes things.
- 7:43Speaker 1: So once we got running though, it was smooth and
- 7:46Speaker 1: it was fun. So we did a couple of games
- 7:48Speaker 1: against AI obviously because there's just two of us, and
- 7:51Speaker 1: we had fun, and people started show up in chat,
- 7:53Speaker 1: and then we started playing with Randos man Boy and
- 7:57Speaker 1: it was actually pretty fun.
- 7:59Speaker 3: It was a new it was a new game mode, Aaron,
- 8:01Speaker 3: and I thought, I was thinking about you while we
- 8:04Speaker 3: were playing, because I was like, Aaron might actually enjoy this,
- 8:07Speaker 3: and like, because so I know, we played the heat
- 8:10Speaker 3: Seeker version before, which you didn't like because it just
- 8:14Speaker 3: the ball just kind of went everywhere, but this one was.
- 8:17Speaker 2: Well heat Seker, the one where it automatically homed in
- 8:20Speaker 2: on the goal kind of yes, I did actually kind
- 8:23Speaker 2: of like that because that felt like kind of like volleyball.
- 8:27Speaker 3: Almost right, Well, okay, this position in.
- 8:30Speaker 2: The right place, but I mean going on offense made
- 8:33Speaker 2: no sense. You pretty much just stayed back on defense
- 8:35Speaker 2: and hope the ball.
- 8:36Speaker 3: And that's that's kind of what they did with this
- 8:38Speaker 3: new mode. They put a barrier at the center line
- 8:42Speaker 3: and if you crossed it, your self demoed, so you
- 8:45Speaker 3: couldn't cross center goal center field at all, and you
- 8:50Speaker 3: had unlimited you had unlimited turbo and you just had
- 8:54Speaker 3: to hit the ball and heat seek it into their
- 8:57Speaker 3: net and then play defense. And it is really a
- 9:00Speaker 3: lot of fun, awesome.
- 9:03Speaker 1: Like trying to jump fast enough to get through the
- 9:05Speaker 1: barrier and not blow up instantly, but just enough to
- 9:08Speaker 1: hit the ball on the other side before you blew up.
- 9:10Speaker 3: If you if you turbo double jumps through the barrier,
- 9:14Speaker 3: you could get about a quarter the way into the
- 9:16Speaker 3: other field before the demo would kick in. I don't
- 9:19Speaker 3: know if it's a glitch or just a built in setting,
- 9:23Speaker 3: but you could get across center field briefly enough. And yeah,
- 9:28Speaker 3: it was it was me. We had a good time
- 9:30Speaker 3: with it.
- 9:31Speaker 1: I think that the entire time didn't weep.
- 9:33Speaker 3: Yeah, except for the AI matches.
- 9:36Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, the warm ups because we had to like
- 9:38Speaker 1: how do we double jump? Yeah?
- 9:41Speaker 3: And you you had spikes in the AI matches and
- 9:43Speaker 3: you fucking loved having a spice. Yeah cool.
- 9:46Speaker 1: Yeah, I was just fucking mine, running away, just taking
- 9:50Speaker 1: the ball and ship. It was so much fun. But yeah,
- 9:52Speaker 1: we got we got a lot of fucking gaming in it,
- 9:54Speaker 1: and that's gonna be a more regular thing because school's
- 9:58Speaker 1: almost done. I only got three more weeks left, actually
- 10:02Speaker 1: only two weeks of hot food and then they're just
- 10:04Speaker 1: getting fucking Sammi's and ship. Here's some sandwiches, here's some
- 10:07Speaker 1: fucking fruit thingies. I'm not even seeing them. What I'm
- 10:14Speaker 1: no joke doing is the kids who are there. I'm
- 10:17Speaker 1: bagging up the lunches for every class, putting each class
- 10:19Speaker 1: until like a milk crate and throwing in a fridge
- 10:21Speaker 1: and going home. I'm not even fucking like, as soon
- 10:23Speaker 1: as I'm done making that shit, cleaning the kitchen, I'm out,
- 10:26Speaker 1: Like I'm closing this bitch down. I'm ready, so plan
- 10:30Speaker 1: on a lot more streaming. I've also set up now
- 10:33Speaker 1: instead of streaming on just twitch. The next time we
- 10:37Speaker 1: do it, it'll be on Twitch, YouTube and kick all
- 10:39Speaker 1: at the same time. I have that set up plus
- 10:42Speaker 1: a couple of new things we have set up on there.
- 10:44Speaker 1: It's pretty neat trying to get more into the text stuff.
- 10:48Speaker 1: Maybe we can add more things to the show.
- 10:49Speaker 2: This way too.
- 10:51Speaker 1: He yeah, uh, but that's my stuffs. I mean, that's
- 10:55Speaker 1: about that's about it. Oh no, I did, that's all things.
- 10:58Speaker 1: I forgot a stare. Started breaking a little bit to
- 11:01Speaker 1: get into our apartment. The bottom step broke because the wood,
- 11:08Speaker 1: so you improvised a step with two cinder blocks for
- 11:12Speaker 1: a while, which worked out very well. I didn't follo
- 11:15Speaker 1: or anything, so it was awesome. But then he came
- 11:17Speaker 1: home from work and then we got the freaking a
- 11:20Speaker 1: new step in there, and it's like solid and ship.
- 11:23Speaker 1: It feels really good and I'm not worried about death anymore. Yeah,
- 11:26Speaker 1: at least not from that.
- 11:27Speaker 2: I mean, the first step would be really hard to
- 11:29Speaker 2: die from, dude.
- 11:31Speaker 1: It would.
- 11:34Speaker 3: Say the first step is the hardest.
- 11:46Speaker 1: One, dude. I've been playing a lot of Doom, the
- 11:48Speaker 1: New Doom Dark Ages, loving the funk out of this.
- 11:52Speaker 1: If you are a Patreon member, jump into Discord and
- 11:55Speaker 1: jump into the lounge anytime I'm playing, because I am
- 11:58Speaker 1: trying to stream it there as much as possible. I'm
- 12:00Speaker 1: about halfway through right now, and the BFC instead the
- 12:06Speaker 1: BFG is dark ages. It's a big fucking crossbow, so
- 12:11Speaker 1: it's a ballista pretty much. It has this green aura
- 12:16Speaker 1: blist the bolts and ship and when you hit some
- 12:18Speaker 1: ship and fucking erandicates everything. It's fucking cool. Oh yeah,
- 12:23Speaker 1: I'm here.
- 12:24Speaker 2: I was imagining like the enemies that hit it by
- 12:27Speaker 2: like rag doll, and it continues to fly and push
- 12:30Speaker 2: them like into the wall where it embeds, and they're
- 12:32Speaker 2: just I think pain Killer has a gun like that already,
- 12:38Speaker 2: so they probably couldn't do the same thing.
- 12:40Speaker 1: Yeah, when this one hits, it's like a dome effect
- 12:42Speaker 1: of the main area. So wherever that bolt hits, like.
- 12:46Speaker 2: A nuclear tip you see and you see a.
- 12:49Speaker 1: Green dome like of every like there's around where it hits.
- 12:52Speaker 1: So if it's underground, yeah, it's it's really cool. And
- 12:57Speaker 1: then what else was that?
- 12:59Speaker 2: I was boom boom, huge boom meant to say.
- 13:06Speaker 4: When he goes boom, I got back into call of duty.
- 13:17Speaker 1: You don't have to take points away it's all right.
- 13:19Speaker 1: But I started playing at Royale Solos and didn't realize
- 13:25Speaker 1: that they changed it to like a casual mode or
- 13:27Speaker 1: some ship so there's like AI in it too, because
- 13:30Speaker 1: like I started playing and I'm like, I am wrecking everybody.
- 13:35Speaker 1: What the fuck? Like this is weird. I shouldn't be
- 13:38Speaker 1: like kicking this much ass and ship. Like the first game,
- 13:42Speaker 1: I ended up in second place at one hundred and
- 13:43Speaker 1: fifty people with like eleven kills and ship and no
- 13:47Speaker 1: debt or like the one death. I'm like, that's fucking odd.
- 13:49Speaker 1: So I play another round like third place, like twelve kills.
- 13:53Speaker 1: I'm like, I'm fucking bad ass. I'm gonna start streaming
- 13:56Speaker 1: Call of Duty too, And then we started watching the
- 13:59Speaker 1: videos night of one of the streamers we watched, He's like, yeah,
- 14:02Speaker 1: so there's this casual mode and I'm like, what you
- 14:05Speaker 1: can't I didn't realize. I went the better al singles
- 14:07Speaker 1: start playing and I'm like, oh, there's a I in here.
- 14:10Speaker 1: I guess like half the lobby's fucking bots. I'm like, oh,
- 14:13Speaker 1: I'm not good. So I could have told.
- 14:18Speaker 2: Him that that's the point.
- 14:26Speaker 1: Uh No, that's it. That's just trying to survive man
- 14:31Speaker 1: cooking food. I'm cooking creesy the pork chops. Follow me
- 14:35Speaker 1: on Instagram people, or holy he's very proud of I
- 14:39Speaker 1: love my pork chops. So we got some like engine
- 14:42Speaker 1: and a half thick pork chops, you know, clean them
- 14:44Speaker 1: up a bit uh tenderized dum. And then I was like, yo,
- 14:48Speaker 1: what kind of what kind of sauce do you guys want?
- 14:50Speaker 1: Do you want like a traditional like salt and pepper
- 14:53Speaker 1: rub on, or do you want a barbecue or do
- 14:54Speaker 1: you want like a bourbon barbecue sauce? So we get
- 14:58Speaker 1: we don't want regular, like four of them to be
- 15:01Speaker 1: barbecue and three of them to be that bourbon one
- 15:04Speaker 1: because I want to try it. And I'm like we
- 15:05Speaker 1: wanted it, and I'm like, all right. So we got
- 15:08Speaker 1: the bourbon that Mesi brought us when we were in
- 15:11Speaker 1: brought aug youing we were in Jersey the bottle and
- 15:14Speaker 1: we were able to use that as for the barbecue. Dude,
- 15:17Speaker 1: holy crap, it actually turned out pretty good. I was surprised,
- 15:21Speaker 1: like first time doing it, just like throwing stuff in there.
- 15:23Speaker 1: It was like pretty tasty.
- 15:26Speaker 3: Can I just say I want an Emerald Leagasi style
- 15:28Speaker 3: smoke smoke cooking show. Now I want to I need
- 15:32Speaker 3: this in my life. Oh my god, I do I
- 15:36Speaker 3: need a.
- 15:37Speaker 2: Stevie going to every restaurant and being like what you got?
- 15:42Speaker 3: No?
- 15:42Speaker 2: No, I mean that was pretty good. And then he
- 15:45Speaker 2: goes to the next place.
- 15:47Speaker 3: No no, no, not not not Guy Fieri. I need him,
- 15:55Speaker 3: Emerald Agassi behind us stove cooking for the audience.
- 15:59Speaker 2: That's what I need, like instead of bamming goes huge boom.
- 16:05Speaker 1: Right, I'm not gonna lie when I was little man,
- 16:08Speaker 1: because I love cooking. I always have, Like even when
- 16:10Speaker 1: I was a kid, Like I was always in the kitchen,
- 16:12Speaker 1: like cutting ship. I like cutting things so too. But
- 16:15Speaker 1: food people, Yeah, thanks for just to make sure, right,
- 16:21Speaker 1: But I've been talking about cutting people for a while.
- 16:23Speaker 1: Now I have all the time, those bastards. But I
- 16:28Speaker 1: would always pretend I was doing like a cooking show,
- 16:30Speaker 1: even by myself, Like even nowadays, I'll still do it
- 16:32Speaker 1: in my head. Sometimes I don't know if I say
- 16:34Speaker 1: it out loud, but it's in my head for sure,
- 16:36Speaker 1: Like presenting the food like half this in y boom
- 16:42Speaker 1: boom because he accidentally spilled in there.
- 16:48Speaker 3: Every time he went Fifth Element there for a second.
- 16:53Speaker 1: But that was me, big bottle boom. Yeah. See it's good,
- 17:00Speaker 1: thank you, thank you, No no, I do.
- 17:04Speaker 3: Love it fantastic.
- 17:06Speaker 1: But yeah, moral story. Follow me on Instagram to I
- 17:08Speaker 1: started doing videos. I guess, I don't know, maybe if
- 17:10Speaker 1: I get the cameral do videos. But I did a
- 17:12Speaker 1: very nice fried chicken too.
- 17:14Speaker 2: Yeah I got.
- 17:15Speaker 1: I had like a it's about an inch of veggie
- 17:18Speaker 1: oil and I stripped a bunch of breasts and then
- 17:22Speaker 1: a tender eyes were really good.
- 17:25Speaker 3: Is that I do?
- 17:28Speaker 1: I put it good too, and then I egg washed
- 17:30Speaker 1: them through it into a flour salt Himalayan sea salt
- 17:34Speaker 1: and ground pepper mixture and then threw those into that
- 17:38Speaker 1: ship like two minutes on each side. Fucking gold and crispy. Man.
- 17:43Speaker 1: Fucking dude, I'm loving this cooking ship. It's so nice.
- 17:48Speaker 2: Damn hell yeah.
- 17:49Speaker 1: But yeah, that's been me.
- 17:51Speaker 2: Speaking of which just related to what you were bringing
- 17:54Speaker 2: up with that bourbon barbecue sauce I had. Uh, there's
- 17:59Speaker 2: a there's a little country club slash restaurant not for
- 18:04Speaker 2: like fifteen minutes from us, and they have a Crown
- 18:08Speaker 2: Royal BlackBerry barbecue sauce and it is fucking delicious. What
- 18:14Speaker 2: it is absolutely scrumptious. It is amazing.
- 18:17Speaker 1: We need to go there for the next BFY dinner.
- 18:20Speaker 2: We can.
- 18:21Speaker 1: I want it.
- 18:24Speaker 2: It's good stuff and the prices are reasonable.
- 18:26Speaker 1: So even better, even better.
- 18:28Speaker 2: Yeah, anyway, neither here nor there. I just got hungry
- 18:32Speaker 2: when you mentioned I'd say, we have time for like
- 18:38Speaker 2: maybe one more light happy positive story. Does anyone have
- 18:42Speaker 2: a short one? I mean, I guess I kind of do.
- 18:46Speaker 1: You got a short positive story?
- 18:48Speaker 2: I have a short positive story. Yeah. So I got
- 18:52Speaker 2: to do a author reading on Wednesday at Thelock City Books.
- 19:00Speaker 2: They were having what they called a Spring Writer's Night,
- 19:02Speaker 2: and they do some sort of event every two months,
- 19:05Speaker 2: and I was like, please invite me two more. I
- 19:08Speaker 2: will do every single one because it was generally a blast.
- 19:12Speaker 2: I was there for about ninety minutes. I only got
- 19:14Speaker 2: to read for about ten.
- 19:16Speaker 1: Oh wow.
- 19:17Speaker 2: But there were six writers there and they all got
- 19:19Speaker 2: to read, and so I you know, we all got
- 19:23Speaker 2: to hear some bits of some interesting books. For sure.
- 19:27Speaker 2: There were a couple that I was like, eh, but
- 19:30Speaker 2: there was there was one that definitely got my attention.
- 19:32Speaker 2: I'm like, I'm gonna buy that nice And then I
- 19:34Speaker 2: got up to read, and I'll tell you, like, even
- 19:37Speaker 2: though I've done theater and all that stuff, I still
- 19:40Speaker 2: was nervous as fuck getting in front of these people
- 19:42Speaker 2: and reading my book. But I just put it. I
- 19:47Speaker 2: just used it to fuel my energy, and I just
- 19:51Speaker 2: gave them like I gave them like a performance. I
- 19:53Speaker 2: tried to do voices for the separate characters. They sounded
- 19:57Speaker 2: separate and distinct, and and I read two chapters and
- 20:02Speaker 2: then like I got there was one person after me,
- 20:05Speaker 2: but like it felt like nobody was listening to them generally.
- 20:10Speaker 2: Like she she had she had a kind of like
- 20:13Speaker 2: a she had a poetry book, so she was doing
- 20:16Speaker 2: some poems. But yeah, after that, like you know, people
- 20:21Speaker 2: were like you signed your book, right, and I'm like, yeah, yeah,
- 20:24Speaker 2: there's just copies over there. Uh and and like within
- 20:28Speaker 2: ten minutes of the event ending, the owner was like,
- 20:31Speaker 2: do you evened were copies of your book were sold out?
- 20:33Speaker 2: I'm like, okay, what. I ran out to my truck.
- 20:36Speaker 2: I pulled it up right in front of the place,
- 20:37Speaker 2: and I brought in like half of what I had left.
- 20:40Speaker 2: I just figured three more books. I'm like, it's that's
- 20:42Speaker 2: chippy enough. And you know. I signed them real quick,
- 20:46Speaker 2: and I gave them to the guy so we could
- 20:47Speaker 2: put stickers on them, and they put them out and
- 20:49Speaker 2: then like another twenty minutes later, she's like, we ran
- 20:53Speaker 2: out again. Oh my god.
- 20:56Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 20:57Speaker 2: So I ran back and got everything I had left.
- 20:59Speaker 2: I think it was four or five books, and I'm like, here,
- 21:01Speaker 2: let me sign them all.
- 21:02Speaker 1: And I'm like, Jeeves, that's awesome, dude, Yeah.
- 21:07Speaker 3: That's gonna make it feel pretty good.
- 21:09Speaker 1: Yeah, especially the second time I happened.
- 21:11Speaker 2: I was like Jesus, I'm like, okay. It was definitely
- 21:14Speaker 2: sold a lot more than I was expecting. I figured
- 21:17Speaker 2: maybe one or two, but six copies of Thing sold
- 21:21Speaker 2: and one person bought a copy of Raka. Hell yes,
- 21:25Speaker 2: so I was reading Thing to be clear. So that's
- 21:28Speaker 2: why that one got all the big sales. And that's
- 21:30Speaker 2: good because you know that means hopefully they'll come back
- 21:32Speaker 2: and buy RACA when they finished reading Thing.
- 21:34Speaker 1: Now, did you choose chapter to read or did you start? Yeah?
- 21:37Speaker 2: I did, I did. I. I talked it over with
- 21:39Speaker 2: a couple of people beforehand. I was like, should I
- 21:42Speaker 2: do the prologue because it's kind of disconnected, and they
- 21:46Speaker 2: were like, yeah, you probably better off skipping it, and
- 21:48Speaker 2: I'm glad I did because it allowed me to introduce
- 21:51Speaker 2: the central concept, plus also the disparate characters in chapter
- 21:56Speaker 2: two when they all show up. So it just seemed
- 21:59Speaker 2: like the best peace to start with, because it's like,
- 22:02Speaker 2: this meant to wet their appetite, so you know, give
- 22:05Speaker 2: them a little taste, little teaser of what they're in for,
- 22:09Speaker 2: you know, and the prologue doesn't really do that. Prologue
- 22:12Speaker 2: sets up events for much later in the book, but
- 22:15Speaker 2: you know, as far as like the general premise of
- 22:17Speaker 2: what's going on, it has almost nothing to do with it.
- 22:20Speaker 2: So yeah, it's a I was delighted at how well
- 22:25Speaker 2: that went, and so like now I'm like, where can
- 22:27Speaker 2: I do more of these?
- 22:28Speaker 4: Right?
- 22:29Speaker 2: Like, honest to God something and this Lock City Books,
- 22:34Speaker 2: God blessed them. They took no cut for any sales
- 22:37Speaker 2: of books sold as a result of the event, so
- 22:41Speaker 2: you know, any authors who read from their books didn't
- 22:45Speaker 2: get anything taken out. So they gave me the full
- 22:47Speaker 2: price of the book. So I made over one hundred
- 22:49Speaker 2: dollars in a single night, and I was like, if
- 22:52Speaker 2: I could do this five nights a week, I wouldn't
- 22:53Speaker 2: have to work anymore. Right, it's super nice.
- 23:00Speaker 3: Two legit things about that. One, the person that bought Reka,
- 23:03Speaker 3: did they had they already had Thane or did they
- 23:05Speaker 3: buy him or were they buy them?
- 23:07Speaker 2: I don't know. I didn't speak to the person who
- 23:10Speaker 2: bought it, so I have to assume either it was
- 23:15Speaker 2: somebody I knew who already had Fine and didn't have Rayka.
- 23:18Speaker 2: Because a bunch of people, a bunch of friends showed up,
- 23:20Speaker 2: which was really nice. Kylin Casey, friends of the show
- 23:24Speaker 2: showed up, were there, My ex girlfriend was there. Oh,
- 23:28Speaker 2: was interesting, cool and you know, it was nice to
- 23:31Speaker 2: see her and we reconnected a little bit.
- 23:33Speaker 1: It's awesome.
- 23:34Speaker 2: And fellow author Mike Welch who came to the the
- 23:39Speaker 2: Reka release party, Uh, and he was very cool. He
- 23:43Speaker 2: showed up and an old friend from high school, which
- 23:46Speaker 2: I don't think you guys would know, but it was
- 23:49Speaker 2: delightful to see her there. And yeah, so it was
- 23:52Speaker 2: it was kind of like a mini mini reunion. There
- 23:55Speaker 2: was about I think fifty or sixty people total, So
- 23:58Speaker 2: that's awesome. Yeah, it was.
- 23:59Speaker 1: It was a good number.
- 24:01Speaker 2: It was a good night.
- 24:02Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 24:02Speaker 2: Oh yes, it was gonna oh, I was gonna I
- 24:07Speaker 2: was just gonna add that. My only complaint was that
- 24:09Speaker 2: the refreshments that they had were provided by somebody else.
- 24:13Speaker 2: And I was like, how much for this little can?
- 24:16Speaker 2: It was smaller than a regular can of like coke
- 24:18Speaker 2: would be. It was like this big yeah, mini can't
- 24:25Speaker 2: like how much for that? He's like eight bucks. I'm like,
- 24:27Speaker 2: fuck you, Yeah, Jesus, I paid bucks for like four
- 24:34Speaker 2: of those. Maybe I'll just I'll just parch.
- 24:43Speaker 1: I'll pass out here.
- 24:46Speaker 3: What I was what I was gonna suggest you remember,
- 24:51Speaker 3: in the height of Rigo did a reading thing online. Know,
- 24:57Speaker 3: we were doing it on a platform that I don't
- 24:58Speaker 3: recommend at this point. But what doesn't mean that no, no,
- 25:03Speaker 3: but it doesn't mean that they can't be done. I
- 25:05Speaker 3: just wouldn't use that platform. But I think you could
- 25:08Speaker 3: set up something where you could do that online and
- 25:11Speaker 3: then have links to the Amazon.
- 25:15Speaker 2: I've been thinking there's some there is a uh. When
- 25:21Speaker 2: Thaing was about to be released, I did a bunch
- 25:23Speaker 2: of readings and I used the sound of clockmakes that
- 25:28Speaker 2: app and I was Stevie had to think about it.
- 25:34Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that one. And I hated it there because
- 25:39Speaker 2: I had no idea what the hell I was doing?
- 25:41Speaker 2: But I did a series of reading like the first
- 25:44Speaker 2: few chapters of the book, and I used the the
- 25:47Speaker 2: the I almost said it. I used the program's voice
- 25:50Speaker 2: filters to actually, you know, replace the voices for the characters.
- 25:54Speaker 2: So even though I was speaking to the lines, it
- 25:56Speaker 2: was changing my voice to sound like a young girl
- 25:59Speaker 2: or an old man or you know what have you uh,
- 26:02Speaker 2: And it was kind of fun to play with and
- 26:04Speaker 2: it was it was kind of cool to mess around.
- 26:05Speaker 3: But because it's your material, you could probably yell it
- 26:09Speaker 3: on Twitch or YouTube and they wouldn't stop you because
- 26:12Speaker 3: it's your the it's your material, it's not proprietly, it's
- 26:16Speaker 3: not copyright, but even if it is copyrighted, it's your copyright.
- 26:20Speaker 3: So either way, like you know.
- 26:22Speaker 2: I was going to say, I was like, you know
- 26:24Speaker 2: what I can do. I can do I can do
- 26:26Speaker 2: a similar thing for Ka And the only problem is
- 26:29Speaker 2: I can I can only write so fast, so I
- 26:31Speaker 2: can only come out with a book like once every
- 26:33Speaker 2: year or so, so it's a while before I have,
- 26:37Speaker 2: you know, another book to read. So I was like,
- 26:40Speaker 2: what if I just read different books? Like surely if
- 26:43Speaker 2: I read just pieces of books instead of like the
- 26:45Speaker 2: whole thing. You know, there's there's no legal issue with that,
- 26:48Speaker 2: but maybe there is. I have to look into it.
- 26:52Speaker 2: The reason I we want to look into it because
- 26:53Speaker 2: I don't I don't know of any like reading channels
- 26:55Speaker 2: where people do that, aside from like say you're reading
- 26:58Speaker 2: Rainbow Revival and stuff like that. But even then, I
- 27:02Speaker 2: don't think he reads the whole book, you know.
- 27:04Speaker 3: So I I know that we didn't get hit with
- 27:07Speaker 3: anything when Rico was doing it, but we were like
- 27:10Speaker 3: an audience of five, So I don't know. So I
- 27:15Speaker 3: don't know if that, you know, really makes a difference
- 27:18Speaker 3: or not, Like if you have like I.
- 27:20Speaker 2: Was good, I just can't give you a point for
- 27:22Speaker 2: self deprecation. I just can't.
- 27:24Speaker 3: Oh no, no, I wasn't. Sadly, it wasn't self deprecation.
- 27:31Speaker 3: It was fact stating. But that's besides the point, Like
- 27:34Speaker 3: that's well, you.
- 27:35Speaker 2: Brought it up for a self deprecating reason.
- 27:38Speaker 3: No, no, I brought it up because I wonder if
- 27:40Speaker 3: the numbers actually make a difference in.
- 27:43Speaker 1: If they feel they're losing money because of somebody doing
- 27:45Speaker 1: something that's right.
- 27:51Speaker 2: Well, in any event, so the scores at the break
- 27:55Speaker 2: are c J with two, Me with one, Argue with one,
- 27:58Speaker 2: and Stevie with one. We'll be right back to find
- 28:01Speaker 2: out if that's gonna change right after this.

- 30:11Speaker 3: So thank god it's that bag.
- 30:15Speaker 2: So it's last week's episode oly Ship.
- 30:17Speaker 1: Yeah, from episode two seventy c J Rarely wins.
- 30:21Speaker 3: It was just very true.
- 30:24Speaker 1: We don't lie here. This was from Bill m Sweet
- 30:28Speaker 1: Bill say you was once a werewolf. Holy crap, he
- 30:33Speaker 1: was a wearabol if you're right in that movie, so yeah,
- 30:37Speaker 1: that counts. Then to your right was an actual like
- 30:40Speaker 1: you physically changed into a word.
- 30:42Speaker 3: Yeah, and I remember that one. Yeah.
- 30:44Speaker 1: It was like a jewel or something. Did it? I
- 30:46Speaker 1: can't remember.
- 30:46Speaker 2: It was something weird, well, well spotted.
- 30:49Speaker 1: Very nice dude, that was well spotted.
- 30:52Speaker 2: Bill. We didn't we didn't catch it, obviously.
- 30:54Speaker 3: No, we got the more obscure one.
- 30:58Speaker 2: We got the more obscure one. None of the us
- 31:00Speaker 2: new where we found. That's wild. That's pretty funny. None
- 31:05Speaker 2: of us could figure, right, but we could think of him.
- 31:09Speaker 2: We googled him. Turn super said, so well, the.
- 31:13Speaker 1: Thing was it was no more ultimate nowhere characters who
- 31:16Speaker 1: could transform or something. Instead of saying Scooby uh uh,
- 31:22Speaker 1: c Jay said Shaggy, and I was like, oh fuck no,
- 31:26Speaker 1: ultra instinct, ultra instinct Shaggy Ye.
- 31:30Speaker 3: So I was out on like the second round or something.
- 31:34Speaker 2: Internet means internet memes, curse you on that one. I
- 31:37Speaker 2: just had. Unfortunately, in any event, Yeah, So that's our
- 31:43Speaker 2: entire malvak. So we're just gonna go back to chatting,
- 31:46Speaker 2: talking about fun, positive stuff, you know, just trying to
- 31:52Speaker 2: keep the mood light because we've all had a rough May,
- 31:54Speaker 2: but we're looking forward to June. June should be a
- 31:56Speaker 2: better momth.
- 31:56Speaker 1: June's gonna be so much better because June is my
- 31:59Speaker 1: birthday month. It is. It means you're leveling up, which
- 32:02Speaker 1: means you get something hopefully.
- 32:04Speaker 2: Not I've never gotten anything really worthwhile on any other birthday, so.
- 32:10Speaker 1: Not even wiser.
- 32:11Speaker 2: No Jesus, there's no birthday I've ever had where I went.
- 32:16Speaker 2: You know, I'm feeling pretty darn sagey. You know, it
- 32:21Speaker 2: just doesn't happen.
- 32:23Speaker 3: I feel like I need to get you something for
- 32:25Speaker 3: your birthday now. So you get something good on a birthday.
- 32:29Speaker 2: You just dropped how much money to fix your problems
- 32:32Speaker 2: that I couldn't put No certain no.
- 32:36Speaker 1: Podcast, Absolutely not.
- 32:37Speaker 2: You want to you want to double up my guilt
- 32:39Speaker 2: of we're not being able to help. I'm gonna word
- 32:45Speaker 2: myself a point.
- 32:46Speaker 3: I think, Yeah, I think you earned one. There, I'll
- 32:49Speaker 3: give you that. So I'll give you. I'll give you
- 32:51Speaker 3: a point. There's I give you that point.
- 32:53Speaker 2: That Yeah, happy stuff. So I actually brought the other
- 33:07Speaker 2: cool thing that I got to play with this week. Uh,
- 33:10Speaker 2: this is the Retroid pocket Flip too. You were talking about, right, Yes, yes,
- 33:18Speaker 2: this is what I'm talking about. It reminds me a
- 33:20Speaker 2: lot of the gpd XD, the gbt XD, which was
- 33:26Speaker 2: one of the first like flip style Android consoles I
- 33:31Speaker 2: ever picked up. It. It just has one screen, but
- 33:35Speaker 2: it's a big ass screen. They flip it open and
- 33:37Speaker 2: then the controls are on the bottom part.
- 33:40Speaker 1: Uh.
- 33:40Speaker 2: And it's basically like a DS or a three DS,
- 33:43Speaker 2: except there's no second screeners and got all. It's got
- 33:48Speaker 2: all the controls, got the sticks, got the triggers, got
- 33:50Speaker 2: the bumpers, it's it's got everything. And it plays GameCube
- 33:55Speaker 2: and PS two like a dream. And I was really
- 33:58Speaker 2: surprised to find that it could play some some like
- 34:01Speaker 2: PS three era or Xbox three sixty era games via
- 34:05Speaker 2: win later, which is a Windows emulator program for Android.
- 34:08Speaker 2: No way, Yeah, I was. I was playing Saintsroo three
- 34:14Speaker 2: on this thing, and I could probably play Santsroo four.
- 34:16Speaker 2: I just didn't have the space to install it. Saints
- 34:20Speaker 2: Before is a bit bigger SSD.
- 34:22Speaker 1: It's a memory chip.
- 34:24Speaker 2: I think it is. I have put like a one
- 34:27Speaker 2: terabyte micro SD card in here. I wasn't using that.
- 34:31Speaker 2: I was using the machines like bass memory, which I
- 34:35Speaker 2: think is one hundred and twenty eight gigs.
- 34:38Speaker 1: It's actually pretty big.
- 34:40Speaker 2: It's not bad. It's not bad. I have been enjoying
- 34:44Speaker 2: the crap out of it, or at least I would.
- 34:47Speaker 2: I haven't played with as much as I like, because
- 34:50Speaker 2: I'm still playing fucking one hundred line Last Defense Academy
- 34:53Speaker 2: with one hundred endings. I've reached thirty of the endings, Holy,
- 34:58Speaker 2: and I've spent fifty fuck hours on this game. Almost
- 35:02Speaker 2: none of those endings were satisfying.
- 35:05Speaker 3: No, I hate that, almost.
- 35:07Speaker 2: None of them. And I've learned next to nothing about
- 35:10Speaker 2: what was really going on, just some tantalizing hints that's it,
- 35:13Speaker 2: and I'm like, you fuckers had better give me some
- 35:17Speaker 2: goddamn good shit on the other routes, because I swear
- 35:20Speaker 2: to God, if it's all filler, I'm gonna lose my
- 35:23Speaker 2: fucking mind.
- 35:24Speaker 1: It'll be the last forty, right, it'll be. It'll be
- 35:28Speaker 1: like eight Yeah, God, it actually good. You feel like
- 35:32Speaker 1: your souls is being crushed by the time. It's like
- 35:34Speaker 1: I'm giving a point.
- 35:39Speaker 2: Yeah, it will be the very last ones I get
- 35:42Speaker 2: to that actually tell me something about the plot and
- 35:44Speaker 2: what the fuck's going on. I have my theories, but
- 35:48Speaker 2: we'll see. Uh anyway, So that's what I've been spending
- 35:51Speaker 2: a lot of my time with. I would like to
- 35:53Speaker 2: spend more time with this because this thing is surprisingly
- 35:56Speaker 2: robust for a two hundred dollars handheld.
- 35:59Speaker 1: Wow, it's it's pretty awesome.
- 36:02Speaker 2: The fact that it can play like GameCube games pretty
- 36:05Speaker 2: damn flawlessly, and PS two games pretty damn flawlessly, and
- 36:08Speaker 2: then even some Windows stuff is pretty insane.
- 36:11Speaker 1: That's awesome.
- 36:12Speaker 2: Like I couldn't believe Saints trow three was running at
- 36:16Speaker 2: sixty fps, but it was.
- 36:18Speaker 1: Wow.
- 36:19Speaker 2: I mean to be fair, it's seven to twenty p
- 36:21Speaker 2: so it's still but still honestly, ten adp on a
- 36:24Speaker 2: handheld this size is dunk like you're nobody's eyes are
- 36:28Speaker 2: that good? Nobody?
- 36:30Speaker 1: It's definitely not mine.
- 36:31Speaker 2: I mean, you can't see pixels that small. Seven twenty
- 36:35Speaker 2: b's about all you could ask for on something this small.
- 36:37Speaker 2: But yeah, no, I look forward to having more fun
- 36:41Speaker 2: with it once I fucking finish hundred line, which may
- 36:45Speaker 2: never happen. It's taking so long.
- 36:49Speaker 3: You'll get there, man, it's not as it doesn't have
- 36:51Speaker 3: as many endings. But I did that with until Dawn,
- 36:54Speaker 3: and that was equally disappointing, Like I.
- 36:57Speaker 2: Never oh man, you wanted to see like you come.
- 37:01Speaker 3: You get, you get the whole story. But yeah, there's
- 37:04Speaker 3: different outcomes and none of them were, like really, none
- 37:07Speaker 3: of them were satisfying to me.
- 37:10Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a bitch, man. You gotta have a satisfying
- 37:13Speaker 2: ending to me. That's that's when you well, when it
- 37:16Speaker 2: comes to like entertainment like books or movies and stuff,
- 37:19Speaker 2: video games.
- 37:20Speaker 1: The cliffhangers off.
- 37:22Speaker 2: It should not be hard to do it. Like I
- 37:25Speaker 2: feel like I've done a pretty good job with my
- 37:26Speaker 2: books a writing satisfying endings. But I mean my my
- 37:30Speaker 2: readers will tell me whether or not.
- 37:32Speaker 1: But I'd say yes, yeah, yeah, you haven't read K
- 37:36Speaker 1: yet at the beginning. I'm disappointed already one sentence in,
- 37:40Speaker 1: but I I.
- 37:51Speaker 3: Didn't. I haven't read them yet, but I can tell
- 37:54Speaker 3: you for someone who I'm very close to, has they loved.
- 37:57Speaker 3: Both endings were very satisfying.
- 38:00Speaker 2: She was very sweet. She gave me a great review,
- 38:04Speaker 2: like incredible. Made me cry. Yeah, it was beautiful. Was
- 38:08Speaker 2: it a negative review?
- 38:09Speaker 1: No, no, this motherfucker.
- 38:14Speaker 2: I'm giving another point. Yeah, it made me cry. She
- 38:21Speaker 2: was so mean to me.
- 38:23Speaker 1: Make another book.
- 38:26Speaker 2: She called me taco. This Aaron Cock suck her over, wrote.
- 38:34Speaker 1: Too many words pictures. I'm giving myself from review too well, yeah,
- 38:43Speaker 1: he said for the first one, I was like, amazing.
- 38:47Speaker 2: God, damn another point.
- 38:51Speaker 3: Even after I'm done with it, because you know what
- 38:52Speaker 3: I'm going to But after I'm I think I'm just
- 38:54Speaker 3: gonna give you the review of P L d R
- 38:56Speaker 3: and just leave it at that.
- 38:58Speaker 2: Too long. Didn't read because you actually didn't, you will
- 39:02Speaker 2: have listened to it instead of reading.
- 39:04Speaker 3: I'm gonna have I'm gonna have to read RAC unless
- 39:06Speaker 3: you record another one of these things.
- 39:08Speaker 5: So I mean keep doing these book reading Yeah, I mean, jesus,
- 39:13Speaker 5: I'm one fiftieth and one fiftieth is the way there,
- 39:16Speaker 5: like just from just from the other night.
- 39:18Speaker 2: So if I do more of these, yeah.
- 39:20Speaker 1: Absolutely, plusure dude, if I buy an r V, like
- 39:25Speaker 1: a driving one, not like a towing one, would you
- 39:29Speaker 1: like to go like on trips as b F Y.
- 39:31Speaker 1: We make part of it like a mobile podcast studio,
- 39:34Speaker 1: but then we like go places and you can do
- 39:36Speaker 1: your reads and like fronts of like all these like.
- 39:39Speaker 3: You have to wrap the entire r V and V
- 39:42Speaker 3: a Y T W though the entire r V W rapped.
- 39:47Speaker 1: I think he won't do it.
- 39:48Speaker 2: You honestly think he won't do that.
- 39:51Speaker 3: No, I know he will.
- 39:53Speaker 2: He's already he's already planning it. I swear to God.
- 39:56Speaker 1: It's like, Hey, you want to buy an r V
- 39:59Speaker 1: And I like my dad I told me this. I
- 40:00Speaker 1: was like, what you're selling one? He's like, yeah, the
- 40:02Speaker 1: one up here in New York. And I'm like, that's
- 40:04Speaker 1: not a driving one, that's like a live inside one,
- 40:07Speaker 1: like that's your house. He's like, yeah, do you know
- 40:10Speaker 1: anybody who wants it? I'm like not me. I'm broken
- 40:12Speaker 1: but if you get rid of that little driving one
- 40:14Speaker 1: you all use, you let me know. So I don't
- 40:18Speaker 1: know if it happens, man, I might do it. Wow
- 40:22Speaker 1: if they hits.
- 40:25Speaker 2: The road, yeah, yeah, that would be cool.
- 40:29Speaker 1: Like stop at Koa's. It's like thirteen bucks a night
- 40:31Speaker 1: this park and you put your electric. You get your
- 40:33Speaker 1: electric there for free.
- 40:34Speaker 2: Could achieve a dream I've had for like years now
- 40:38Speaker 2: and we've never actually done, is go to the nearest
- 40:40Speaker 2: microcenter and buy computer parts for exanely cheap.
- 40:44Speaker 1: Me too, I haven't been like to the Midwest.
- 40:49Speaker 2: It would be a trick to arrange book readings at
- 40:53Speaker 2: you know places all over it.
- 40:54Speaker 1: We can check all the food places and ship like
- 40:56Speaker 1: all the restaurants go to waffle houses.
- 40:59Speaker 3: Hey, since in something here for the conception of this idea,
- 41:02Speaker 3: I have one request. You have to come to Missouri
- 41:05Speaker 3: and see me at some point on this venture.
- 41:08Speaker 2: Like is that like a one that might be more?
- 41:13Speaker 1: Think we can handle that. It's like twelve hours.
- 41:15Speaker 2: Right, I don't know Atlanta was one hours?
- 41:19Speaker 1: Trying, gotcha, I'll lock it up old, yeah, because I
- 41:22Speaker 1: can't remember. But we got to Illinois and like it
- 41:25Speaker 1: set eleven.
- 41:26Speaker 2: I think Illinois.
- 41:29Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, we got it in Like, but I was
- 41:31Speaker 1: driving pretty fast legally, pretty fast legally giving are you
- 41:39Speaker 1: using Buffalo safe?
- 41:43Speaker 3: Using Buffalo as the start area to my exact address,
- 41:47Speaker 3: which I'm not going to say on air, it would
- 41:49Speaker 3: be eleven hours and it would be eleven hours and
- 41:51Speaker 3: twenty four minutes from.
- 41:53Speaker 1: That's about That's about how long it took us to.
- 41:55Speaker 2: That's not bad. And in breaks, you're looking at probably thirteen.
- 42:00Speaker 1: So if I drop that, we could do that in.
- 42:06Speaker 2: A couple of days.
- 42:06Speaker 1: Off.
- 42:07Speaker 2: It's just one state over.
- 42:08Speaker 1: Yeah, it's not far. We can do this all.
- 42:13Speaker 3: It's not even like a full state over because of
- 42:16Speaker 3: where it's.
- 42:21Speaker 1: It's a state and a half over.
- 42:23Speaker 2: To a state and a half over.
- 42:28Speaker 1: Dude, Like, seriously, though, if we get dude, like I
- 42:31Speaker 1: swear because I was telling him, and obviously I get
- 42:34Speaker 1: this from my parents. I'd like road trips. I like
- 42:36Speaker 1: going on adventures. Yeah, they grew up taking me camping
- 42:40Speaker 1: on the weekend, like you wouldn't know it, like City
- 42:42Speaker 1: Boy and ship. But how was camping?
- 42:45Speaker 3: Oh smoke? I got the craziest idea. Turned the back
- 42:49Speaker 3: half into a podcast studio. You turn to the middle
- 42:52Speaker 3: section into a fucking food truck and you could sell
- 42:56Speaker 3: food along the way.
- 42:59Speaker 1: Okay, here's the thing. Two things, And I've looked into
- 43:02Speaker 1: stuff because Rasp and I are thinking of doing a
- 43:05Speaker 1: coffee truck at some point when we retired, because that
- 43:08Speaker 1: would donate anything after like the homeless shelters, and anybody
- 43:12Speaker 1: on the streets is like, here's the free coffee. Here's
- 43:14Speaker 1: like what are we have for like scones and ship
- 43:17Speaker 1: But the problem with doing that is there's so many
- 43:20Speaker 1: regulations from state to state for food. You can't yeah,
- 43:23Speaker 1: I mean you can't get on the permits, but maybe
- 43:25Speaker 1: stupid expensive and you have to Coffee is way different.
- 43:31Speaker 3: The movie Chef was a lie? Is that what they're
- 43:34Speaker 3: telling me? Is that what you're telling me?
- 43:36Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, sorry, yeah, there's a lie?
- 43:38Speaker 2: Or were they left out the administrative bits?
- 43:41Speaker 1: Yeah, like they probably left out I couldn't even imagine.
- 43:44Speaker 2: It's possible that the states nearby to each other could
- 43:48Speaker 2: have similar or the same or.
- 43:50Speaker 1: Waved even yeah, or they never got the permits either.
- 43:54Speaker 3: I mean he drew from in that movie. He went
- 43:56Speaker 3: from Miami to Los Angeles, Like that's not Yeah.
- 44:01Speaker 2: That seems a lot of relation.
- 44:03Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, but yeah, that would be something that'd
- 44:08Speaker 1: be neat.
- 44:08Speaker 3: Fucking movies lying to us.
- 44:13Speaker 2: I'm giving you a point for the idea of converting
- 44:16Speaker 2: from you be into a food truck, because I really
- 44:19Speaker 2: liked that idea, like free food. I'm just like free food.
- 44:22Speaker 2: I absolutely was. I was going.
- 44:25Speaker 1: I've seen I've seen smoking make all those foods. I
- 44:28Speaker 1: know what you could do with the fucking.
- 44:29Speaker 2: Frog, damn it. Ste I'm giving you a point for
- 44:31Speaker 2: reading me so well.
- 44:32Speaker 1: I I got you, you know what, And I can
- 44:35Speaker 1: make a taste good and not be as unhealthy.
- 44:39Speaker 2: I'd be done for that.
- 44:39Speaker 1: Yeah, I can do it. Man, it's so hard. I
- 44:41Speaker 1: really learned the food. It's easy.
- 44:42Speaker 2: Absolutely, that would be cool.
- 44:44Speaker 1: Actually did that.
- 44:47Speaker 3: Smoke To your point, we should talk about this off
- 44:50Speaker 3: air because it's probably boring to the audience. But Christal
- 44:53Speaker 3: wants to open up a bookstore coffee shop like legit,
- 44:56Speaker 3: so it would be and I desperately want to make
- 45:01Speaker 3: that dream come true for her, like without question, and
- 45:04Speaker 3: I see it as possible, So like awesome, you know,
- 45:08Speaker 3: and Aaron, you could come read anytime you fucking want.
- 45:12Speaker 1: I get free.
- 45:14Speaker 2: I would free cof free coffee.
- 45:17Speaker 3: Aaron Smoke gets free coffee. Aaron gets to read his book.
- 45:21Speaker 3: Everyone's happy. Aggie. You just get to do whatever because
- 45:23Speaker 3: you're so.
- 45:27Speaker 1: Oh you gonna read all the books and drink all
- 45:28Speaker 1: the coffee.
- 45:31Speaker 3: I want to put it. I want to put a
- 45:32Speaker 3: small like vinyl section in a corner, like a small Yeah.
- 45:37Speaker 1: See that, dude, no joke. Every now and then I'll
- 45:40Speaker 1: come in here and I'll put the fucking record on
- 45:42Speaker 1: or some ship and just like chill with the radio.
- 45:44Speaker 3: It's we have two turntables at our house. We have
- 45:48Speaker 3: two turntables. So I just bought her here. This will
- 45:52Speaker 3: tie in the more fun things because it just came
- 45:55Speaker 3: out and she's a huge fan. I bought her the
- 45:58Speaker 3: thirtieth anniversary soundtrack on vinyl to the Goofy Movie. Goofy
- 46:08Speaker 3: Movie on vinyl on vinyl, and it's a tie eyed vinyl.
- 46:17Speaker 3: It looks amazing, it's awesome.
- 46:20Speaker 1: Wow. Yeah, that's oh god, I barely remember the movie.
- 46:28Speaker 1: You watched that like a year ago too. I don't remember.
- 46:32Speaker 1: It was about it's.
- 46:34Speaker 3: Him and his son Max, that's.
- 46:36Speaker 2: All I remember. Yeah, yeah, family vacation.
- 46:41Speaker 1: That'd be awesome.
- 46:42Speaker 3: Turned into it came She literally posted about it two
- 46:46Speaker 3: days before the release and said, I have to have
- 46:49Speaker 3: this in my life. One online saw what the price was.
- 46:52Speaker 3: I was like, I can make that happen. Hit the
- 46:54Speaker 3: button and then it was delivered to her of the
- 46:56Speaker 3: day it released. It's cool. Yeah, it was. It was
- 47:01Speaker 3: pretty awesome.
- 47:04Speaker 1: Goofy movie on f I like it.
- 47:05Speaker 2: That is so random.
- 47:09Speaker 1: I didn't even know they I didn't even realize.
- 47:11Speaker 2: I had to give him a point just for buying it,
- 47:13Speaker 2: because I'm like, God, damn.
- 47:16Speaker 1: He really likes this.
- 47:17Speaker 3: Lady was a little bit, a little bit.
- 47:21Speaker 2: Yeah, does anyone else have any positive bits or stories
- 47:27Speaker 2: to share before we? H?
- 47:30Speaker 3: I got a cool thing?
- 47:31Speaker 1: Was?
- 47:31Speaker 3: I got a couple of cool things I've been watching.
- 47:34Speaker 2: There was something you'd watch that you thought we'd be interested.
- 47:36Speaker 1: Yeah, there's three.
- 47:38Speaker 3: There's three, but there's one in particular I think you'll
- 47:40Speaker 3: like the most. I've been kind of on a documentary
- 47:42Speaker 3: kick lately, and so I I was literally watching one
- 47:48Speaker 3: on Paul Rubins when you called me to do this.
- 47:50Speaker 3: So I'm midway through that one, but that one's been
- 47:53Speaker 3: really good. I watched I watched one on the Tony
- 47:57Speaker 3: Hawk franchise.
- 48:00Speaker 1: Games Games, Yeah, okay in and then.
- 48:03Speaker 3: I I fell asleep last Saturday watching the World Tetris Championships,
- 48:10Speaker 3: not even knowing that was a thing, but apparently it's
- 48:13Speaker 3: a thing.
- 48:14Speaker 1: God.
- 48:15Speaker 3: Yeah. And then that inspired me to watch a documentary
- 48:20Speaker 3: that I've been wanting to watch on a Prime called
- 48:22Speaker 3: speed Running, and it's about people whose speed run games,
- 48:27Speaker 3: and it is one of the coolest documentaries I've ever
- 48:30Speaker 3: seen in my life.
- 48:31Speaker 1: So what you're saying is, you haven't slept in the
- 48:33Speaker 1: last four days.
- 48:35Speaker 3: Something like well even something like the last week. But
- 48:37Speaker 3: that's so.
- 48:44Speaker 1: Speed un Oh sorry, I just I remember seeing something
- 48:47Speaker 1: about how they play with like the controller upside down
- 48:50Speaker 1: because they can tell.
- 48:51Speaker 3: Them yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 48:53Speaker 2: They have all sorts of neat tricks to make it
- 48:56Speaker 2: so they can move just slightly faster the little bit
- 49:00Speaker 2: save those.
- 49:03Speaker 3: And they get when they get to the kill screen,
- 49:06Speaker 3: because all these guys get to kill screens because they're
- 49:08Speaker 3: that good. This the kill screen, and Tetris isn't like
- 49:12Speaker 3: the kill screen and Donkey Kong, where literally is a
- 49:15Speaker 3: kill screen and stops the game. It takes it to
- 49:18Speaker 3: a level that breaks the speed. It is so fast
- 49:23Speaker 3: they like, I don't know how they do it like
- 49:26Speaker 3: I know these techniques that Aaron which is mentioning, But
- 49:29Speaker 3: even then I don't know. I don't know how they
- 49:30Speaker 3: fucking do it because it's so so fast.
- 49:33Speaker 2: Watching Tetris speeds runs is a bit like like witnessing
- 49:41Speaker 2: something impossible, like you just you can't conceive of how
- 49:45Speaker 2: someone's mind can work that fast. Yeah, like they they
- 49:51Speaker 2: the piece, they know immediately where they're gonna put it,
- 49:54Speaker 2: and their fingers are already moving to get it in
- 49:57Speaker 2: the right place. People they have like half a second,
- 50:02Speaker 2: Like at the fastest speeds, they have less than half
- 50:04Speaker 2: a second to get that piece in place before it
- 50:06Speaker 2: locks in right.
- 50:08Speaker 3: And they were and they were dropping Tetrises like this.
- 50:11Speaker 3: They were just Tetris after Tetris after Tetris. It was crazy.
- 50:14Speaker 3: But but even the other speed runs, like I was,
- 50:17Speaker 3: they were this documentary they were talking about Super Metroid
- 50:20Speaker 3: and the Mario Brothers games, like someone someone be what
- 50:24Speaker 3: was it Mario Brothers three? No warp whistles, because that's
- 50:28Speaker 3: the thing apparently, And they did it in like twenty minutes,
- 50:34Speaker 3: like be the entire game. It's crazy.
- 50:37Speaker 2: Yeah, there are there there are speed runs that have
- 50:40Speaker 2: all sorts of conditions, and some of them are pretty insane.
- 50:42Speaker 1: You breakthrough shit and like going so far over on
- 50:45Speaker 1: one part of speedy popped to the other side and shit.
- 50:47Speaker 2: Yeah, like one of this, I talked about this on
- 50:49Speaker 2: the show before. One of the speed runs is always
- 50:51Speaker 2: stuck in my brain. Is someone wired their controller to
- 50:54Speaker 2: like four different ness so they would all operate using
- 50:57Speaker 2: the same controls. And he played Mega Man one through
- 51:00Speaker 2: four simultaneously speed run all of them using one controller
- 51:05Speaker 2: to control all four of them. Like that is a
- 51:09Speaker 2: level of that is a level of preparation and like
- 51:12Speaker 2: knowledge of a game that I would never even aspire to,
- 51:17Speaker 2: like that would never even occur to me to try
- 51:20Speaker 2: and do that. Ship.
- 51:20Speaker 1: Those are what we need for the military on our side.
- 51:23Speaker 1: Like well, I'm not going to say good.
- 51:30Speaker 2: Like the most the most insane thing, the most insane thing,
- 51:35Speaker 2: I think a point for that. The most insane thing
- 51:39Speaker 2: I think I've ever done gaming wise is set up
- 51:41Speaker 2: an emulator to automatically switch between games randomly to try
- 51:47Speaker 2: and catch me by surprise. And I tried to beat
- 51:49Speaker 2: Super Mario one, two, and three, so it would switch
- 51:53Speaker 2: between them. It would be at least thirty seconds in
- 51:55Speaker 2: each game, but I wouldn't know when it was gonna switch,
- 51:59Speaker 2: and it could be up to five minutes, so I'd
- 52:01Speaker 2: be like, I could be sitting there for a while,
- 52:03Speaker 2: you know, trying to play this one game, but then
- 52:04Speaker 2: without warning switch over and put you put me right
- 52:07Speaker 2: back to where I was in the other game. So
- 52:09Speaker 2: if I'm mid jump, I'm probably fucked. My god, you know,
- 52:14Speaker 2: unless it's the first game, in which case your momentum
- 52:16Speaker 2: usually carrious. But yeah, that was an interesting fucking challenge.
- 52:22Speaker 2: I don't think I beat. I think I was getting
- 52:24Speaker 2: my ass handed to me because I keep coming back
- 52:27Speaker 2: to a game like ship, you know, get run over.
- 52:32Speaker 3: This wasn't ready the two things had it focused on
- 52:36Speaker 3: it I found really was. There was a lot of
- 52:38Speaker 3: really cool I mean, it was to your point about
- 52:39Speaker 3: weird stuff, Aeron. It was these two guys that played
- 52:43Speaker 3: Mike Tyson's punch Out blindfolding. One guy controlled, one guy
- 52:49Speaker 3: controlled the punching, the other guy controlled the movement, and
- 52:52Speaker 3: they were blindfolded playing the one game, and they and
- 52:55Speaker 3: they and they fucking beat the game. It was crazy.
- 53:00Speaker 3: Two the two things, well, the three things I found
- 53:03Speaker 3: really interesting about it. One was the they get really
- 53:06Speaker 3: deep into the history of games done quick this marathon. Yeah,
- 53:10Speaker 3: that that raises a lot of charity money and a
- 53:13Speaker 3: lot of it's for like soldier stuff smoke, so you
- 53:16Speaker 3: would really probably appreciate it. Yeah, and they they started
- 53:20Speaker 3: in in this dude's mom's basement as as as stereotypicals
- 53:24Speaker 3: that sounds, that's exactly where they started. And now they
- 53:28Speaker 3: now they rake in like three million dollars in donations
- 53:32Speaker 3: per tournament to do this, and yeah, so that's really cool.
- 53:37Speaker 3: And then they also focused on like just the the
- 53:39Speaker 3: different tricks to get through these games, Like they showed
- 53:42Speaker 3: you the tricks, like they didn't like hide that stop,
- 53:45Speaker 3: so just seeing something the different like if you jump
- 53:47Speaker 3: on this exact pixel on this exact second, you can
- 53:50Speaker 3: like fly through the wall and weird straff like that.
- 53:53Speaker 3: And then and then they also focused on now that
- 53:56Speaker 3: we're in you know, the twenty first century and in
- 53:58Speaker 3: twenty twenties and thing like that with all the Kaiso
- 54:02Speaker 3: levels that are out there and how people are playing
- 54:04Speaker 3: Kaiso levels and and speed running those and.
- 54:09Speaker 2: No, no, like that's basically like Mario games that have
- 54:13Speaker 2: been rebuilt to uh provide insane levels of Challenge.
- 54:19Speaker 3: They weren't just Mario Games. It was a Kaiso Metroid.
- 54:23Speaker 2: Yeah, they have they have done. The Kaiso thing originated
- 54:27Speaker 2: with Mario Games and I think specifically Super Mario World,
- 54:32Speaker 2: but it has spread out to other to other franchises.
- 54:35Speaker 1: Now.
- 54:36Speaker 2: I watched Kaiso Metroid Jesus Christ never.
- 54:42Speaker 3: Sla Kaiso. It was a mashup though it was Super
- 54:46Speaker 3: Mario Brothers and Metroid, so it was the Mario Brothers level,
- 54:49Speaker 3: but the player looked like Mario that acted like like
- 54:53Speaker 3: sam as interesting.
- 54:56Speaker 2: I love the matchups and randomizers. That randomized is one
- 55:00Speaker 2: of my favorite things to come along in games these years.
- 55:03Speaker 2: Just makes going back to these old games so much
- 55:05Speaker 2: more fun because now you don't know where everything is.
- 55:07Speaker 2: It's almost like playing the game for the first time again. Uh,
- 55:10Speaker 2: it's it's so good.
- 55:12Speaker 3: The first example that I think would be the Mario
- 55:15Speaker 3: loss levels, right, like that was that's different than randomizer,
- 55:19Speaker 3: but like that's the first time you got a chance
- 55:20Speaker 3: to play it differently because the loss levels were basically
- 55:23Speaker 3: Mario one, just like reorganized.
- 55:25Speaker 2: If I recall, yeah, well what it was was it
- 55:29Speaker 2: was it was Super Mario two in Japan, right that
- 55:33Speaker 2: game was so hard. They thought people in America wouldn't
- 55:36Speaker 2: like it. So they're like, we got something kind of
- 55:39Speaker 2: Mario ish. It's called doky Doki panic or some shit, right,
- 55:44Speaker 2: and they're like, we'll just replace the sprites with Mario y.
- 55:50Speaker 2: It gets kind of like Mario kind of. I think
- 55:52Speaker 2: people will like it, and then people fucking loved it,
- 55:54Speaker 2: and they're like, oh shit, all right, well, you know
- 55:56Speaker 2: we're gonna go back to that when we do Mario three.
- 55:59Speaker 2: We're gonna go back to the old way. But you know,
- 56:01Speaker 2: it was, it was a place. It was really funny.
- 56:04Speaker 3: One And I'll stop because I could talk about this
- 56:07Speaker 3: for hours, but.
- 56:08Speaker 2: Yeah, levels was to Mario two, and but it's a
- 56:13Speaker 2: very different challenge. And first of all, Mario and Luigi
- 56:15Speaker 2: no longer play the same way. Luigi has a longer jump,
- 56:20Speaker 2: but he's harder to control in mid air. Mario's the
- 56:24Speaker 2: same as you ever was. But there's also now poison
- 56:27Speaker 2: mushrooms that kill you instead of help you, which was
- 56:29Speaker 2: a nasty trick you find on the very first punch box.
- 56:33Speaker 1: Because it looks like the first level, I think, didn't it.
- 56:35Speaker 2: The very first level, the very first question mark Bloki
- 56:38Speaker 2: punch will be a poison mushroom because there, Dick, but.
- 56:41Speaker 3: I didn't know that Mario three had been out for
- 56:44Speaker 3: almost eighteen months in Japan before it ever came to America,
- 56:48Speaker 3: and because there was no innit and Nintendo Power wasn't
- 56:51Speaker 3: exactly what it was yet, no one here knew about
- 56:54Speaker 3: it until the Wizard YEP, which yeah, which I love
- 56:58Speaker 3: that movie.
- 56:59Speaker 2: Yeah, hell yeah, all right, Well, I think we're probably
- 57:05Speaker 2: gonna cap it there. I think we've got a decent
- 57:08Speaker 2: length episode out of just chilling and talking about cool shit.
- 57:12Speaker 2: And I hope everybody's in a better mood than when
- 57:14Speaker 2: we started. I sure, am. This has been a blast, guys.
- 57:16Speaker 1: I feel chilling.
- 57:18Speaker 2: Well, Aggie, maybe this will help. At the end of
- 57:20Speaker 2: the end of the game, I had came in last
- 57:22Speaker 2: with three points, Stevie's second last with four points, but
- 57:25Speaker 2: Aggie and CJ shared the win with five points each.
- 57:30Speaker 1: Hell yeah, very nice, dude.
- 57:32Speaker 2: Oggie didn't say much, but when he did, he was
- 57:34Speaker 2: a sniper.
- 57:35Speaker 1: Every time.
- 57:37Speaker 3: He plays Rocket League too.
- 57:39Speaker 4: Yeah again, some days I've been sick and I've been working,
- 57:45Speaker 4: and I've been sick and I've been working, and I missed.
- 57:48Speaker 1: Last week just to come into this week to see
- 57:51Speaker 1: us steal an American ice show that was already stealing
- 57:53Speaker 1: from a British show.
- 57:55Speaker 2: And yeah, I mean, what do you think? What do
- 58:00Speaker 2: you what do you think we do here? Almost all
- 58:05Speaker 2: stolen from the British in some way. We stole that
- 58:08Speaker 2: from the Times.
- 58:10Speaker 1: Don't do that, that's our game.
- 58:14Speaker 2: Yeah, in any event, For the.
- 58:18Speaker 3: Record, I watched the British one before I ever saw
- 58:21Speaker 3: the American one, So I've been a fan of whose
- 58:23Speaker 3: line for a long time.
- 58:25Speaker 1: I recall seeing one or two before the American.
- 58:28Speaker 3: Version was Comedy Central used to run it on a.
- 58:31Speaker 2: Loop to watch the British shows.
- 58:36Speaker 1: When Comedy Central is funny.
- 58:40Speaker 2: Gets a point, he's now tied with the two of you.
- 58:45Speaker 2: They actually history just aliens.
- 58:50Speaker 1: Now it's fiction.
- 58:53Speaker 2: Now it's just aliens and haunted houses and.
