- 0:00SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 0:01SPEAKER_01: Good morning.
- 0:02SPEAKER_00: Yes, let's try this again.
- 0:04SPEAKER_00: So so go again.
- 0:07SPEAKER_01: I I was getting a I was getting um a quiche, the local coffee shop and bakery.
- 0:15SPEAKER_01: And um and then the guy house sitting called to say that uh a tree seems to have fallen on my power lines, busting out open um water line and falling on top of a lot of other um landscaping, very large trees.
- 0:33SPEAKER_01: So the the utility company came and cut the tree and replaced the power line, but they left the water running and the trees on top of a bunch of like fruit trees and palm trees and everything else.
- 0:44SPEAKER_01: So seems like uh I I had to find uh uh like a you know a chainsaw person.
- 0:54SPEAKER_01: A tree person.
- 0:55SPEAKER_01: A lumberjack.
- 0:57SPEAKER_01: I need a lumberjack to come out and remove the tree.
- 0:59SPEAKER_01: I was able to get him to turn the water off to that spigot.
- 1:03SPEAKER_01: So anyway, these things happen when you're away sometimes.
- 1:07SPEAKER_01: And it seems like the tree is like it's a really huge hickory, and I think more than half of it either got struck by lightning or just got too heavy and fell.
- 1:17SPEAKER_01: So that whole area underneath it where all the shade was is now gonna be sunny.
- 1:23SPEAKER_01: But you know, things change.
- 1:26SPEAKER_01: The house is okay.
- 1:28SPEAKER_01: The landscaping is is is uh is not what's going on in uh sunny California?
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: Well, I guess the the the news here is it's hot.
- 1:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: And um and we're running out of water.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: Oh no.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: I guess the Colorado River is I think it's dried up now.
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: I don't think that's Oh, are you in a drought?
- 1:54SPEAKER_00: I think it's gone.
- 1:54SPEAKER_01: I think the Colorado River is I did see a post on social media where a lady was in the Colorado River and there was like a tiny little what looks like a little ditch full of water.
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: That's what it is now.
- 2:09SPEAKER_00: That seems to be problematic.
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think there's no water here, and I think there's gonna be no more crops, and that's it, and just no drinking water.
- 2:21SPEAKER_01: I get I get my my restaurant gets our lettuce from you guys over there in California.
- 2:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah, not anymore.
- 2:28SPEAKER_00: You're gonna have to get your lettuce from Mexico.
- 2:31SPEAKER_00: Um, the same one, the same from the same company that delivered all the lettuce to Taco Bell.
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: Oh, I'd like to try to avoid that.
- 2:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 2:40SPEAKER_01: You're gonna have to Um So are they giving you water restrictions?
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: No, I think they just said there's no more water.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: Sorry.
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: I think that's what they said.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: I think that's I think they're trying to they're trying to dig a hole to make a lake, and they realize, wait, we don't have enough water to make this lake.
- 3:01SPEAKER_00: Reservoir, I guess.
- 3:03SPEAKER_00: But I get here's the news.
- 3:04SPEAKER_00: Here's the only news that's worth telling is um one of our listeners tracked me down somehow.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: I don't know how.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: And was it your daughter?
- 3:19SPEAKER_00: No, just one of our listeners and sent a one of them in here.
- 3:22SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 3:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and sent a text.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: Um obviously this person's uh, you know, avid and and passionate listener.
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, fan.
- 3:33SPEAKER_00: Um, I don't know, I guess.
- 3:38SPEAKER_01: Well if they're avid and passionate, they must be a fan.
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: Well, I don't know.
- 3:42SPEAKER_00: Well, here's the here's the in here's the so this person is feedback.
- 3:48SPEAKER_00: This person is giving feedback in in on on titles.
- 3:53SPEAKER_00: And so and they said, I like eight-minute odyssey.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: That was yours, right?
- 4:03SPEAKER_01: Well, I said Odyssey because I just saw the Odyssey and I thought that sometimes art talks are kind of a little bit of an Odyssey.
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah, well, you and they go on You said odd, you said eight-minute Odyssey, and and this person said I like eight-minute odyssey because the eight minutes seems to last 20.
- 4:21SPEAKER_00: With like laughy faces.
- 4:23SPEAKER_00: And so a fan, I'm not, I don't know.
- 4:27SPEAKER_00: I don't I don't maybe maybe this person has to, you know, like listen.
- 4:36SPEAKER_01: Maybe they're maybe they've been kidnapped and they're in tortured in a basement and then their and their punishment is to listen every day for 20 minutes.
- 4:45SPEAKER_00: For 20 minutes, yes.
- 4:48SPEAKER_01: Maybe they take the eight minutes and they and they draw it out, they slow it down to 20 minutes.
- 4:52SPEAKER_01: I know, and that and that's why it's so much torture for them.
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: Instead of playing it 1.5 faster, they play it, you know, two.
- 5:02SPEAKER_00: Well, it would be two.
- 5:04SPEAKER_00: It would be 0.4, 0.2.
- 5:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 5:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 5:09SPEAKER_00: We gotta figure out the maths on that.
- 5:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 5:12SPEAKER_01: So 0.5 would make it be eight, eight, and eight, sixteen minutes.
- 5:17SPEAKER_01: So if it's gonna be twenty minutes, it's gonna be like 0.4, 0.3, point,.35, something like that.
- 5:22SPEAKER_01: But yeah, that could be the case because sometimes it does.
- 5:26SPEAKER_01: I mean, I was talking one time and I thought, how can we still be talking because we've been talking so long?
- 5:32SPEAKER_01: And then so sometimes listeners feel that way, and that's the beauty of it.
- 5:36SPEAKER_01: We get so much information in eight minutes, it's mind-blowing, really, how much we can talk about.
- 5:40SPEAKER_00: It feels like 20 minutes of information in eight minutes.
- 5:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah, maybe that's what I think.
- 5:45SPEAKER_00: And maybe that should be the title.
- 5:46SPEAKER_00: Maybe that's what they were saying.
- 5:48SPEAKER_00: Maybe they were just saying it it's eight minutes, but it seems like twenty minutes because it's crammed love, entertainment, and and information and dad gold.
- 6:02SPEAKER_01: Maybe that's what if we called it 20 minutes, uh, 20-minute podcast, eight-minute podcast that feels like 20 minutes.
- 6:10SPEAKER_01: What if we called it that?
- 6:12SPEAKER_00: You see, I see I you don't use you don't like those long you just said yesterday.
- 6:16SPEAKER_01: I know, I know, I know.
- 6:17SPEAKER_01: But I do like things that are a little abstract, and I do, and I guess that's not abstract though.
- 6:22SPEAKER_01: I guess that's pretty straightforward.
- 6:23SPEAKER_01: It's on the nose, kind of.
- 6:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 6:27SPEAKER_01: Well, we we we one thing's for sure, we can't talk about the title every day because at some point we got to get to the good stuff, like inspiration, the life acts, dad vice, stuff like that.
- 6:40SPEAKER_01: Vice, right.
- 6:40SPEAKER_01: Starting tomorrow, we're gonna get good.
- 6:42SPEAKER_00: We're gonna tomorrow is gonna be so good.
- 6:45SPEAKER_01: It's gonna be such a good one tomorrow.
- 6:47SPEAKER_00: It's gonna be really good.
- 6:48SPEAKER_00: Like today was okay.
- 6:51SPEAKER_00: Half halfway.
- 6:53SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and tomorrow's gonna be like epic good.
- 6:57SPEAKER_00: Um, yeah.
- 6:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 6:59SPEAKER_00: So hey, I know I know words.
- 7:02SPEAKER_00: Um, you know, I'm I'm playing Scrabble with my wife, and um, I'm I'm getting better.
- 7:08SPEAKER_00: I'm actually, you know.
- 7:09SPEAKER_01: I feel like I inspired that in you guys.
- 7:11SPEAKER_01: Like I came to visit, you guys never played Scrabble.
- 7:14SPEAKER_01: We played together, and all of a sudden she's like, Oh my god, you're playing Scrabble.
- 7:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and now you're a regular Scrabble player.
- 7:20SPEAKER_00: Yep, I'm trying to learn my words.
- 7:22SPEAKER_00: Uh and it's good for your brain for real.
- 7:24SPEAKER_00: Do you know the most popular non-voweled word?
- 7:28SPEAKER_00: I learned that yesterday.
- 7:30SPEAKER_00: No, I don't know how to pronounce it, I'll just spell it.
- 7:35SPEAKER_00: Um CWM.
- 7:39SPEAKER_00: That's not right.
- 7:40SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 7:42SPEAKER_01: No.
- 7:42SPEAKER_01: How do you know?
- 7:43SPEAKER_01: Because she told you.
- 7:44SPEAKER_00: I have a list.
- 7:45SPEAKER_00: I looked, I've done research.
- 7:46SPEAKER_00: I've done my research.
- 7:49SPEAKER_01: And I've and I think it's good when you can do Q I and put the Q on like a triple letter.
- 7:56SPEAKER_01: And Q U.
- 7:58SPEAKER_01: I didn't know you could do Q U.
