- 1:05SPEAKER_00: And we will leave the form for that down below if you'd like to submit a question.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: And today's is all from recovering from burnout and working less to make more.
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: So the question is, hi Liv.
- 1:18SPEAKER_00: I've fallen into a cycle of working longer hours because I feel overwhelmed by the amount of work I need to get done.
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: What's even worse is that lately I feel like I'm less productive and maybe burnt out as a result.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: How would you reset to get back on track?
- 1:34SPEAKER_00: Okay, so this is a wonderful question, and I'm gonna dive into a bunch of the nuances with this.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: So number one is getting really clear on why we've fallen into a cycle of working longer hours, right?
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: You say because you feel overwhelmed by the amount of work.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: A, is that something that you've taken on, right?
- 1:54SPEAKER_00: Sometimes we like to create more work for ourselves, right?
- 1:56SPEAKER_00: There's always a never-ending to-do list.
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: There's always more work that can be done.
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: And I can tell you that, like, there's always work to do.
- 2:04SPEAKER_00: I I could always, I could work 24-7, and there's always technically more work to do.
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: But I would question like the need to get done.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: Like, does it need to get done?
- 2:17SPEAKER_00: What is your definition of need?
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: Are you creating that need?
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: Is that an illusion?
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 2:22SPEAKER_00: What are you thinking will happen?
- 2:23SPEAKER_00: If you don't work these longer hours, you think you won't hit the income goal, you won't reach your goals, you won't, whatever it is.
- 2:31SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 2:31SPEAKER_00: So that's really clear because unless you can uncover the shadow behind the pattern of like what is motivating you, right?
- 2:39SPEAKER_00: That motivating principle that's doing it, your system and your nervous system is gonna keep driving you to work more because of that.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: Now, because I don't know like all the details, if you're overwhelmed by, you know, work that quote unquote needs to get done, it could also be a delegation issue, right?
- 2:55SPEAKER_00: Like of you taking on too much, right?
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: Which would then also make you, yes, less productive because you're scattering your energy.
- 3:03SPEAKER_00: And then long term, yes, that can lead to burnout.
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: So in order to reset, you actually need to look at a why you're adding on things to your plate, what can be taken off your plate, does it actually need to get done?
- 3:16SPEAKER_00: Does it need to get done right now, right?
- 3:18SPEAKER_00: Where is there a false sense of urgency?
- 3:22SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 3:23SPEAKER_00: Where are you thinking that doing more for the sake of doing more equals more progress?
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: And unfortunately, that's not the case, right?
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: And so when you free yourself and free yourself from operating under that condition, you actually get a lot more done in a lot shorter amount of time.
- 3:44SPEAKER_00: I'm not sure who asked this, but you feel like a projector to me.
- 3:47SPEAKER_00: I'm just gonna like when I feel into the energy of this person, um, it feels like you are a projector.
- 3:53SPEAKER_00: So also take that into note that you are you're meant to.
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: So I would actually give yourself a reset.
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: Like I would actually give yourself space to come back to like to neutral, to come back to not feeling tired, to not, you know, feeling like you're in a flow.
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: You can't get to into a flow state from being burnt out or being exhausted.
- 4:15SPEAKER_00: Like you need an actual reset.
- 4:17SPEAKER_00: So I would give myself the space for that first.
- 4:19SPEAKER_00: I would take things off my plate that weren't absolutely needed and in relative spaces, like a lot is probably not needed or like not required.
- 4:30SPEAKER_00: Again, is that false sense of urgency?
- 4:33SPEAKER_00: I would stop working more hours just because I think I needed to, right?
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: I would uncover that pattern that I'm looking at in terms of why do I believe this needs to get done?
- 4:43SPEAKER_00: What am I believing about myself?
- 4:44SPEAKER_00: What am I believing I need to do in order to receive that?
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: Because it's completely true.
- 4:49SPEAKER_00: If working more hours meant more money, then everyone who worked lots of hours would make lots of money.
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: That's not true.
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: So it doesn't have to be true for you, but it's up for you, up to you to like choose something differently because it will make you less productive and then eventually burn out.
- 5:03SPEAKER_00: And then we need to like kill your adrenals and everything like that.
- 5:07SPEAKER_00: So when you uncover and you do kind of like these three things, your system will reset.
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: And then I also want you to think about preventing this in the future, right?
- 5:21SPEAKER_00: Because it's one thing to get out of the cycle, but like I don't want you to fall into the cycle again.
- 5:25SPEAKER_00: So, in order for you not to fall into the cycle again, what would you need to know to be true?
- 5:30unknown: Right?
- 5:30SPEAKER_00: What boundaries need to be put in place?
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: Is it like you stop working after this amount of like of time or these many hours in the day?
- 5:38SPEAKER_00: And whatever gets done in those hours, that's what gets done.
- 5:42SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 5:42SPEAKER_00: Where do you need to give yourself permission for more rest and rejuvenation and all of that?
- 5:53SPEAKER_00: Because otherwise, the work that you're doing is not even quality work.
- 5:58SPEAKER_00: So you might as well like chill and rest until you're getting to the place where like the work you're doing can be quality.
- 6:05SPEAKER_00: And that's kind of it.
- 6:06SPEAKER_00: That's all I would do.
- 6:07SPEAKER_00: But again, those patterns are important to uncover.
- 6:10SPEAKER_00: I'd uncover the pattern, why the motivating principle, I'd then rest to get back to it.
- 6:19SPEAKER_00: I'd take things off my plate, I'd put the boundaries up, I perhaps raise the standards and the people I'm interacting with in like the working, whether it's like delegation or whatever it is, like these are the standards.
- 6:31SPEAKER_00: And really stepping into that power.
- 6:38SPEAKER_00: Because a lot of times we get overwhelmed by the amount of work we need to get done because we're a yes person, we just keep saying yes to everything and taking on too much for the sake of it.
- 6:47SPEAKER_00: And again, like, what do you believe will happen?
- 6:50SPEAKER_00: People get mad at you, people not like you, people do this, well, like whatever will happen.
- 6:55SPEAKER_00: And working with that fear and dissolving that.
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: So that's what I would do if I had to fall into the cycle.
- 7:04SPEAKER_00: Hopefully, this was useful.
- 7:06SPEAKER_00: Short, it's sweet, but that's all you need to know.
- 7:09SPEAKER_00: It does not have to be super complicated and that.
- 7:11SPEAKER_00: And as you know, like we're all about like relaxed living and like scaling from a relaxed place that feels light, where you also get to make a lot of money.
- 7:22SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 7:23SPEAKER_00: So I feel like this is a very fitting question for us because we are all about your body gets to thrive, your relationships get to thrive, you get to feel bliss, and it's not from working more hours.
- 7:35SPEAKER_00: So free yourself from that, and I will see you guys in the next episode.
