- 1:46[SPEAKER_00]: They have it all over there.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_00]: It looks so small on the outside, but it's big on the inside.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_00]: Whether you're getting hurt at work, on the ice, on the field.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe you're just looking for sports testing.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_00]: You know, you're trying to impress that scout.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so they know your metrics.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_00]: Get over to impulse physical therapy, a Western New York and the Pew.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_00]: again, they're helping me get back on the ice myself.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_00]: My journey back from a very traumatic injury last February, almost a year ago, next week.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_00]: So, uh, check about, again, impulse this because they're both in your curls, savers take three points in the sum belt, um,
- 2:22[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, you want to get that one in the garage as the bulldog would say, but you get three points.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_00]: You know, you give up the radish, but the game time goal the radish, you just unleash the cannon from the point.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_00]: Those are 17th goal this season, which he's a UFA this off season.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_00]: That guy is going to get a huge day.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_00]: But all in all, man, you went toe to toe with one of the leagues best.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_00]: If not the leagues best tonight.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think all of us, especially coming off, they come back when last night would have taken a point out of this game, no matter how it happened.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_01]: Site on scene, you take a point out of this game.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_01]: And against a team that's gone 17-1-1 in their last 19 games, leading into this, I think that's a pretty good result.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_01]: With your backup goalie, who mind you, played off his ass, and I think he...
- 3:09[SPEAKER_01]: can be chaotic at times, but I don't think a lot of the goals are on him, especially not the time goal.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_01]: Darren Radish has made a living of that exact shot, that exact play this season.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_01]: He's got one of the best one timers in the league, not named Tage Thompson, and they prioritize and use it really well on their power play, especially in that spot.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_01]: So,
- 3:29[SPEAKER_01]: You can't keep your chin up on that one if you're cold now, and I think as a team, they battled.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_01]: They're obviously pretty injured, losing sack pants and last night.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_01]: Of course doesn't help.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, I don't want you to get into the garage, but at the end of the day, I think you live with that result.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_01]: You go home to Pittsburgh and you win a game at home before you want to be great.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_00]: I do want to point this out from the Buffalo area, uh, raf stuff and they probably don't understand you panelies.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_00]: Also holding the stick on that lean behind the play before the game winning goal.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_00]: Like he wouldn't let him get away.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_00]: He didn't even even.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_01]: So a few trips, a few interference is the chat.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_00]: Louder was a quinn, but it didn't quinn.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_01]: I think it was quinn.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, quinn does fall a lot, but I do think he got tripped.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_01]: Also the quick whistle on Vasilevsky combined with the fact that Dali got slashed.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_01]: And that's the reason he missed the Dali.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they just put the whistles away.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think that happened a lot during the game, not only tonight, but last night as well.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_01]: I saw a few people talking about how the NHL prioritizes Florida teams for some reason doing well.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_01]: I don't get it because if there were real fans in Tampa Bay, they would have booed the sabers when they regrouped in overtime in three on three, like real hockey fans do.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_01]: They don't know enough about the game to boo in that situation.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_01]: So that tells you all you need to know.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_01]: I think that, uh, yeah, it was pretty brutal and over time, especially I saw a lot of people talking about that and I was screaming at the TV.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_00]: How did you feel about the line, the line up choice for over time, not getting Josh don't out there?
- 5:04[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Jack Quinn, I mean, he doesn't really play much speed.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_01]: I know he has hands and he's good in his space, but he's prone to turn it over too.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, I'm not a good, which in over time is a death sentence.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he wasn't the reason they lost, but
- 5:27[SPEAKER_01]: Thank your frozen bud, clean open space with his vision and his ability to create plays.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_01]: I would have preferred that Alex tuck taking the draw.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if somebody got thrown out right before that, but I thought that was a strange choice.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_01]: And on the game when in goal, I said it.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe it's just the goalie in me when there's an odd man rush situation going in your favor offensively I always always especially in beer league obviously yell at the final guy back to stay back and to watch your back because guys especially in beer league have the tendency to cherry pick and that's exactly what Gensel is doing.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_01]: He was waiting for that exact moment and he had the best guy in the world to have eyes and the back was had in the Kita Kutroth and throw
- 6:11[SPEAKER_01]: one of the nicest passes.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_00]: I've seen it a long time and what and what bug me about that to is like he found on the first one and Krebs uh like I don't understand like Krebs real like Krebs real lies.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_00]: He knew Gensel was going in their way.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_00]: He knew he was there and like even if you're even if you think you have possession down low you just cannot assume it.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_00]: you have to acknowledge that guy is back there and you have to go with them at worst it's two on two in the offensive zone and you're taking your man guns will go in the other way.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_00]: He's not just going that way.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_00]: Bailey has teammates hoping for an opportunity.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 6:51[SPEAKER_00]: Like you have to go with them.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_00]: You have to.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_01]: just screaming at the TV to get back unfortunately they did not but yeah i think uh they're over time play is early in the season it was pretty bad uh they had a few over time losses i think it was in october or early november
- 7:10[SPEAKER_01]: and they cleaned it up a little bit and they've gotten to three shootouts and they've won all three shootouts.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know how it would have gone with Vasilevkey versus Coln Ellis tonight.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_01]: Either way, got to clean a few things up obviously, but that's a really, really good team.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_01]: Of course, they're banged up as well.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_01]: And
- 7:26[SPEAKER_01]: When the Sabers have played this well for so long, you don't like to have moral victories, but if there was one to take tonight, I think it's three out of four on the trip, no matter how you got it.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_01]: And hopefully, those Akbanson is, from what we hear, the injury's not as serious as they initially thought, they're gonna go get a second opinion back in Buffalo.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, you can do up after the Olympic break, but all in all, I think it's completely fine.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_01]: I really do.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yep, and you know, our very own Alex Peters from Enville's physical therapy he gave his breakdown in a short like minute minute long video last night after the Benson injury and he said, you know, I don't know all the medical jargon he gave, but he flat outside, you know, this could be a week to week thing.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't sound like surgery is gonna be necessary at all for this.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_00]: It looked bad when it happened for sure, but he said this could be a week-to-week thing, which honestly, I mean, if you're gonna get hurt for a week-to-week, why not have it happen now?
- 8:25[SPEAKER_00]: You're about to get hurt.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I thought the same thing when I saw the caption on the video, they didn't made yesterday that he could be out for a few weeks.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_01]: What better time with the only,
- 8:36[SPEAKER_01]: three week off period in the past 12 years to potentially have a three or four week long injury, especially one that would just requires rest and requires rehabilitation which he'll get during that time.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_01]: I personally think he should have been on team Canada now.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just kidding.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_01]: But either way, yeah, definitely a good time for that to happen.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_01]: I think Josh North definitely doesn't play on Thursday.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_01]: They can't afford for him to get hurt in the final game before the Olympic break.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_01]: Heel up, obviously it's a big game, but it's not as big of a game as a game against the Atlantic would be.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_01]: So I do think they'll rest guys that have some bumps and bruises.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_01]: And hopefully do their best to win the game on Thursday without explaining it.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_00]: against a very red hot Pittsburgh team right now like playing way above expectation for them coming into this season, which according to the broadcast is the best story in sports.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_01]: But there's no, there's no bigger, no bigger story than the Buffer flavors, right?
- 9:34[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no, no.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_01]: The ESPN Plus broadcast had the penguins this season were the best story in sports.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that's why there were a lot of issues on the broadcast tonight.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_01]: Michael Samielton, there was a graphic that you tweeted that a guy sent to me, 17 points and two games for Dallene, I think I got.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, someone else mentioned that generally they were just kind of like treating it like a podcast rather than calling a game.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_01]: I like the obeliscusin, but I really think he was kind of distracted tonight for some reason.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I never really liked the ESPN Plus broadcast.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_01]: The best one.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_01]: The best one that's happened this season was when Eric Johnson was on it earlier in the year.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_00]: Eric Johnson was fantastic.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_01]: I thought he was great.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, I saw he was getting uh, getting churped the other day.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_01]: I forget it was a former teammate.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_01]: I think it was on the ass for getting a spray tan when he was the the ring side reporter that was pretty funny.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, no, it's it was a really really brutal broadcast tonight.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure I talked about it a little bit and I think people agreed with me, but it was really really bad.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that was a tough look for free SPN.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_00]: I ain't Michael Sam.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_00]: What are we talking about right now?
- 10:44[SPEAKER_00]: Michael Samuelson, you know, brother of
- 10:48[SPEAKER_01]: He said it.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_01]: He said it like four times to like, what are we doing?
- 10:54[SPEAKER_01]: What are we doing?
- 10:54[SPEAKER_01]: You might have been confusing with Michael Kasslering, but yeah, it was, I don't know, man, really, really.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_01]: And like from Ray Ferraro to like an OG of the broadcasting game, especially on ESPN from back in the day and a really respected NHL player.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_01]: He obviously knows a lot of guys.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_01]: I was surprised that that came from him to be honest, but is what it is.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_01]: Nobody's perfect.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_00]: No, definitely not.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_00]: And but she's been on the show with us too, and I enjoy it.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_00]: I enjoy his content.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_00]: But that way, in terms of like tear point when they call games, I'm not a fan.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think he's not necessarily a tried and true play by play guy either.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_01]: They have him do it out of necessity and he knows the game.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_01]: He's around the game as much as anybody.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_01]: So I think he's a good, very class and case of emergency type guy.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_01]: But I actually like what shoes and as a play by play guy, I just think in the grand scheme of the broadcast, whether it was producing or whatever it was involved in it, I don't think it was great tonight.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_01]: But back to the game, numbers aside from the shots, pretty similar, faceoffs, dead even again.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_01]: So I think that's a pretty good sign.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_01]: I think McCloud was particularly good.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_01]: If I have to go back and check, I just remember him winning a few draws.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, no, it's something to work out.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_01]: He was nine in ten.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_01]: So a little under 50%, which is not horrible, five and five, four and four.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_01]: So they're not getting blown out, at least the past couple games, which is a good sign.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_01]: But hopefully they clean that up over the break.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_00]: Yep.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god Michael Sam was in for about 45 minutes of cover.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_00]: He's taken over that.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I guess we talked a little about Colton Ellis.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_00]: Great game from him tonight, you know, like you said a little erratic.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_00]: We're not.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_00]: I know me.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_00]: I only either of us are fans of his style, right?
- 12:45[SPEAKER_00]: Like it's like we're not fans of his style, but he gets the job done.
- 12:48[SPEAKER_00]: Um, if he could tighten up that rebound control, I think, uh, you know, I feel a lot more safe as him like being a permit and backup and Buffalo behind Alex Lyon for sure.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_01]: I think, yeah, technically he's not by any means textbook, but as we mentioned before, he battles.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_01]: And at the end of the day, as Dominic Hashtag taught us,
- 13:10[SPEAKER_01]: Whatever you need to do to get in front of the puck.
- 13:12[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, the rebound control needs to be a little bit better.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_01]: I think his positioning, he loses his stick a lot early in the first period.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_01]: He lost his stick and as he was going to grab it, as I think the lightning player shot it on that, knowing that he was going to grab it.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_01]: He still made the save and then made a glove save on Kutra off shortly after that.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_01]: I thought that was very impressive.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he plays a little bit like a beer league goal.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_01]: is, you know, not necessarily the most sound strategy in the national hockey league, but I do think that his athleticism and the way he reads the play makes up for it.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_01]: He's constantly tracking the puck.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_01]: I think he finds the puck really well, especially in these chaotic situations, which is absolutely necessary when he play the way he does.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_01]: He's basically the antithesis of Andre Vasilevsky, who, in my opinion, let in some weak goals tonight.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_01]: He definitely wasn't at
- 14:05[SPEAKER_01]: you're definitely not necessarily on your game.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_01]: So I think that was fortunate.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, all in all, really, really good game from Cole.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_01]: And I was, I'd be interested to see the high danger chances and the goals saved above expected.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_01]: I, I imagine the numbers are pretty good.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_00]: Ishiana was it on the, the one re-bongle?
- 14:24[SPEAKER_00]: he like tried to make an old school like kick like skate save like as you know he reacted I was like what are you what I mean even if you want to try to save that like properly like it wouldn't have mattered but I was probably the the Bjork's triangle range from that yeah like you have like whoa like like that's like some fucking I don't know
- 14:46[SPEAKER_00]: Trenchy actually get from back in the day or broder should even as last time I saw a goal to try to make a save like that with a skate with a total of his skate don't point into the sky.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, hopefully we get Josh Norr.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it would have been nice to have Josh Norr today from all from his interview from the other day.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_00]: It's kind of sounded like he was training to play in it, you know, before the Olympic break, you know, he says when my body feels ready, then I'm ready to go and he sounded very optimistic about playing, but I don't maybe we see him Thursday.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, nice given the injury to Benson, hopefully, you know, it's
- 15:24[SPEAKER_00]: whatever's going out at Benson, obviously it's a shoulder thing.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't go beyond the Olympic break because we're getting into a love the home stretch here.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_00]: And did you see how many scouts were at the game tonight?
- 15:37[SPEAKER_01]: I did not, did they show that on the market?
- 15:39[SPEAKER_00]: I entered 12 scouts at the game tonight.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_01]: Scouts, man.
- 15:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, a lot of teams get their reference mighty ducks at embank scouts man scouts man.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, there it is.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_00]: I'll pull up the list real quick here.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_00]: Hold on, but Let me see if I can find I think I I might have retweeted it out, but decent amount decent showing at the at the game tonight, scouts wise, but
- 16:06[SPEAKER_00]: Here we go, representatives from 10 different NHL teams at the arena night for lightning sabers, 12 if you count Tampa and Buffalo, damn near half the league moves are a comment, this is from Jay right chair, I'm not sure what, you know, what platform he works with, but Florida Pittsburgh, Washington, Montreal, Rangers and Ohio, San Jose, LA King, St. Louis and Chicago all in the house tonight, wow, yeah, so a lot, a lot, I'm not sure who they're here to see,
- 16:36[SPEAKER_00]: And I will say, Bucci said on the post game show before we came in one live, he said that it is hard to look at this Saber's team and want to trade anybody right now.
- 16:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and kind of what we've been talking about.
- 16:53[SPEAKER_01]: You don't mess up the feeling in the room.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, even Alex talked in guys that you potentially could lose for nothing.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I don't know.
- 17:02[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if I would, but if the right offer comes along, you have to consider it.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_00]: I agree.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_00]: And it's just nice to see that, like, you know, there's not going to be any more of these, just talk about no trade clause anymore because the sabers have arrived.
- 17:19[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I think tonight, like, is like a lynch pin moment for this team, where it's like, you just skated with one of the best teams in the league.
- 17:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they didn't have bread and point.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_00]: They were banged up with so are we.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_00]: We don't have Josh Norris.
- 17:32[SPEAKER_00]: We don't have Zach
- 17:36[SPEAKER_00]: like you took it to them, and you led for a lot of this game.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_00]: You led two to one, and you led three to two.
- 17:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you led him, Kralba.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_00]: But again, you and your backup goal tender go head to head with one of arguably the best if not VBAS goal in the world right now.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_00]: And you came out with a point, and you were 25 seconds away from winning.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, man, like, even with you, you just like, I'm hard pressed to wanna trade this roster for mostly any other roster in the league right now.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_01]: Even Matthew Kitchek said it after the game last year.
- 18:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like neighbors outclassed in terms of skill.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_01]: Not only just better, but they had far more skill than the defending two times Stanley Cup champions who Yes, are banged up.
- 18:20[SPEAKER_01]: But that says a lot.
- 18:22[SPEAKER_01]: I think the team has been built in the right way and guys are producing.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_01]: at the rate that they're supposed to.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_01]: And we've been waiting for for a long time, obviously.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, look at a guy like Matthias Hamilton.
- 18:34[SPEAKER_01]: The best offensive season of his career combined with the best defensive season of his career.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_01]: He's like our last 30, like a long 30.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_01]: So you're getting in in order in it performances, but also I think they're somewhat expected with their development and their developmental plan for where they are relative to the league.
- 18:53[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, no, I wouldn't either and I think that.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_01]: momentum and chemistry is a big thing.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_01]: You talk about chemistry amongst teams all the time in the feeling in the room and how guys feel about each other.
- 19:06[SPEAKER_01]: And I think this group is as good as we had in a long time.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_01]: And I think you'd be hard pressed to change something, get somebody upset and mess up what they built in the past two months now.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it could have got to be anymore.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_00]: But it could come back to our sponsors again real quick.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_00]: Shout out of again to
- 19:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

- 21:29[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to go to the locker room if hopefully there are.
- 21:32[SPEAKER_00]: quotes for after this game sometimes on the way the game is they don't always come in on time.
- 21:37[SPEAKER_00]: Rough says the Atlantic division is so tough.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_00]: Every game is a tight game says they're at the final way to close it out.
- 21:44[SPEAKER_00]: Says there was an opportunity to get four points on this trip.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_00]: Rough said Ellis played a great game for us.
- 21:50[SPEAKER_00]: Also more from Rough.
- 21:51[SPEAKER_00]: It was a heck of an effort, says they didn't have a lot of energy with a back to back games, but got some little got some energy late, says they had a chance to win an OT with dialing and Thompson coming in.
- 22:03[SPEAKER_00]: Samlson said he tried to use a DMN as a screen and it worked well.
- 22:07[SPEAKER_00]: Samlson says shooting the puck and playing confidently has helped his offensive success.
- 22:12[SPEAKER_00]: Ellis, I'm getting three at a four point, says
- 22:16[SPEAKER_00]: They says they are two really good teams that they faced.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_00]: Happy to have to a certain extent.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_00]: But it's the way they lost the points tonight that is tough.
- 22:27[SPEAKER_00]: Ellis, as you probably could have been just a little more composed on the game-trying goal.
- 22:34[SPEAKER_00]: Keep his edges a little more Ellis.
- 22:36[SPEAKER_00]: I think obviously it's disappointing in terms of the outcome.
- 22:39[SPEAKER_00]: In terms of my game, I felt pretty good, says the East is so tight, you take any point you can get.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_00]: Josh don't said Ellis was really good and says that's on us says he deserved a win tonight.
- 22:53[SPEAKER_00]: Don't says they're trying to get a don't says he was trying to get big on the back post and Thompson through it there where you can get to it and score that late goal.
- 23:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yep, and that's it from the locker room.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, yeah, a lot of, again, Colton Ellis as a radic as he can be.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_00]: I think, you know, fans myself included Connor, include to be a lot happier if he had a little more control over the rebounds.
- 23:20[SPEAKER_00]: But, I mean, I was played a great game tonight.
- 23:22[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, this was not on him.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, paying grubs for sure that game when he goes on him.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_00]: I mean,
- 23:29[SPEAKER_00]: He just can't let, again, still get behind you.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_00]: You just can't.
- 23:33[SPEAKER_00]: You gotta be aware of who's out there with you.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_00]: At worst, if you go with him, even if even it, Kuchroff doesn't get possession and Dahlene does in that situation, it's too on to in the offensive zone.
- 23:47[SPEAKER_00]: All right, then you rejoin the play.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_00]: You still have a, you still have a stack.
- 23:53[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, uh, I'm against, I'll come you back into the offensive zone.
- 23:55[SPEAKER_00]: You just cannot allow your man, uh, to get away from you there.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_00]: And that's a, that's a, that's a big game, potentially cost me the game mistake.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, did it cost you the game and there's no guarantee you would have came back in one, but it did it.
- 24:10[SPEAKER_00]: It cost you the game tonight, regardless.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_00]: And obviously, he had the mistakes last game, but he made up for them.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I think last, you know, last night was one of his better games as a sabers.
- 24:21[SPEAKER_00]: From Brady Bunch, I don't blame Krebs for that last goal, 26 strip two guys had no leverage and would have needed that outlet.
- 24:28[SPEAKER_00]: If anything, he could have made himself
- 24:36[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, man, I think I just need need crabs to be just aware and just go with them.
- 24:45[SPEAKER_00]: I get what you're saying, but
- 24:48[SPEAKER_00]: That's Coutureoff is top five player in the world.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_00]: He puts that step puck out of string every single time.
- 24:55[SPEAKER_00]: He's got to be aware of who's out there with you.
- 24:57[SPEAKER_00]: We can agree to disagree on that one.
- 25:00[SPEAKER_00]: From Lawrence, welcome to the chat to turnovers or killing the savers, I agree.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_00]: And giving up the amount of shots they are in the third period this year as they brought it up in the broadcast, it's also killing them.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_00]: you can't always depend on your goal.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_00]: You just to play at this level every single time.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_00]: The power play has looked a little bit better.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_00]: I thought
- 25:19[SPEAKER_00]: that that that that that power play they had where they scored very late was the don't go I thought that was one of the best power play performances from that unit.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_00]: I've seen all season There was a lot of transition.
- 25:31[SPEAKER_00]: There was a lot of movement good passing after they finally settled in it took him into the settle in But the last minute and a half of that power play.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_00]: I thought it looked fantastic and they were rewarded with a goal
- 25:44[SPEAKER_00]: So the power play has looked a little bit better over the past few games.
- 25:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I have to, if you just got to be able to find ways
- 25:58[SPEAKER_00]: He performing like that on the power of play because once you do get to the playoffs again, that P word.
- 26:05[SPEAKER_00]: Those power plays become very few in Farbe between like, you know, they put the whistles away much like it didn't over time tonight and you might not see one power play it entire game, you know, I see one penalty call that entire game in the playoffs.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_00]: So.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_00]: You have to be able to keep taking an event when you do get those chances.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_00]: And I thought that was a good stop in the right direction.
- 26:25[SPEAKER_00]: Again, that was probably one of the best, again, a minute and a half out of the two minute penalty that we've seen from them this season.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_00]: I'll just again, a lot of movement.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_00]: Everybody was moving their feet.
- 26:36[SPEAKER_00]: Transition was good.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_00]: Passing was great.
- 26:39[SPEAKER_00]: They were getting good looks at the nut.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_00]: Not afraid to shoot.
- 26:42[SPEAKER_00]: There was one point where they were shooting intentionally for a rebound, which I love that stuff.
- 26:45[SPEAKER_00]: Love that stuff.
- 26:47[SPEAKER_00]: So.
- 26:48[SPEAKER_00]: Pick up where you left off, keep heading to the right direction.
- 26:51[SPEAKER_00]: And again, three out of four points against the two teams just played is not bad.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_00]: Dallion Ozzy should have had that OT in the bag.
- 27:00[SPEAKER_00]: The almost breakaway as the Tant made a fender gave me full path to the goalie.
- 27:05[SPEAKER_00]: He just missed the net early again.
- 27:07[SPEAKER_00]: Like her whole set earlier, how about him blowing the whistle as early as they did when Vasilezki tried to hear a throw right to Dallion stick.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_00]: And that's in the back of the net.
- 27:19[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a hawk slacked with that stick, which also should have been a penalty.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_00]: So, but that's all I got for tonight guys.
- 27:30[SPEAKER_00]: Again, I'm encouraged getting three out of four points in Florida.
- 27:37[SPEAKER_00]: Tampa Bay is, again, right next to the Buffalo Sabers, one of the hottest teams in national hockey league.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_00]: I'm encouraged by the way they performed tonight.
- 27:45[SPEAKER_00]: And I want to keep seeing more of this.
- 27:47[SPEAKER_00]: So if you guys have enjoyed this podcast, if you enjoyed the post game show, please, if your audio only follows along on Apple podcasts, Spotify, wherever your audio podcast, just got to search out to Google, is one mic.

- 28:22[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, where about a half an hour, not that bad.
- 28:25[SPEAKER_00]: And it interacts with the chat more.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_00]: I'm, you know what, own power sucks, you know, I try and make sure when it's difficult.
- 28:35[SPEAKER_00]: It's difficult to do when I'm on my own.
- 28:38[SPEAKER_00]: Because I'm here trying to talk to you and then I have to work the chat to it's difficult.

- 28:47[SPEAKER_00]: I will stick around for five.
- 28:50[SPEAKER_00]: We will go to 35 minutes.
- 28:52[SPEAKER_00]: Just for you.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_00]: Just for you.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_00]: Buffalo fanatics stays on for hours.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_00]: That's great for Buffalo fanatics.
- 29:00[SPEAKER_00]: I am very happy for Buffalo fanatics.
- 29:03[SPEAKER_00]: It is 11 o'clock at night.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_00]: I have to give up five.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_00]: So I apologize if we don't go on long enough.
- 29:10[SPEAKER_00]: I also record four to five times a week.
- 29:13[SPEAKER_00]: So I know you're busted my balls man, but listen, I will go to 35 minutes just for you.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_00]: You know, so quick your bitch.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_00]: They have Pittsburgh on Thursday night.
- 29:25[SPEAKER_00]: I will be attending that game with some work colleagues extremely excited Always fun to see Sydney Crosby play.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_00]: You don't know how many more of these games.
- 29:33[SPEAKER_00]: You have left with a guy like him and we've been very Fortune to see him play his entire career at least in my generation He's been a saber killer over the years, so I know I will appreciate the fact that we get to see him play another one more time life
- 29:49[SPEAKER_00]: And the pit that Pittsburgh team has been very good this season, right?
- 29:54[SPEAKER_00]: Like, they've exceeded a lot of expectations.
- 29:59[SPEAKER_00]: Crosby seems to be ageless like that guy just does not get older.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_00]: He probably played to least 50 if you take away the concussion history.
- 30:08[SPEAKER_00]: Like he's relatively healthy for a lot of his career.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm extremely excited to see them play.
- 30:16[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, they lost the islanders today in over time, five to four.
- 30:19[SPEAKER_00]: The Maple Leafs and the Oilers are Maple Leafs lead.
- 30:24[SPEAKER_00]: The Oilers forwarded two with about 10 minutes left in the third period right now.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_00]: The Flyers beat the capitals forwarded two today.
- 30:32[SPEAKER_00]: Bluejackets shut out the Devil's three nothing.
- 30:36[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, the hurricanes beat the senators four to three in regulation.
- 30:41[SPEAKER_00]: So for those of you who are scoreboard watching, uh, and a non-related game to have an interview with the savers, the ducks in the crack and are tied at zero at the end of one.
- 30:52[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, the penguins have been a, uh, very, very, we got unexpected team to be as good as they are this season, uh, for the lack of a better way
- 31:06[SPEAKER_00]: Let me pull up.
- 31:07[SPEAKER_00]: Let me pull up their, uh, some of their stats and numbers this season, um, Crossbee, which I already know he's well over a point per game, uh, 59 points and 55 games, 27 goals.
- 31:22[SPEAKER_00]: You got to have a guinea mall again with 43 points and 40 games, um, surprisingly enough plus minus city Crossbee is at a zero.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_00]: Malkin that a plus 13.
- 31:33[SPEAKER_00]: Anthony Matta, 41 points and 55 games, Ryan Ross 2 was a big rumored guy to come to Buffalo in the offseason, 40 points and 48 games, Eric Carlson, 35 points and 50 games, you know, a guy who still performing at a high level, even at his age.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of, again,
- 31:56[SPEAKER_00]: a lot of talent still on this on this Pittsburgh team just in Brazil 27.141 games is just kind of going up and down the list here.
- 32:05[SPEAKER_00]: record, recall 24 points and 35 games.
- 32:10[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, there's a very talented talented Pittsburgh game Stuart Skinner has played very well for them so far, cities come over his 19 and 12.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_00]: with a 279 say a percentage and an 890 or to 279 goals against an 890 say a percentage obviously on the sexy snobbers, but he's getting wins and he's playing pretty consistently this year since that trade between Pittsburgh and.
- 32:37[SPEAKER_00]: and the oilers for, for Tristan Jari.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_00]: So, uh, I expect to give in the way the sailors are playing, you will get Stuart Skinner and that's Thursday, but I need a win.
- 32:49[SPEAKER_00]: I need a win, had any Olympics, stack these points.
- 32:53[SPEAKER_00]: One is the, one is the roster freeze going to effect.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, is that, has that already happened?
- 33:01[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, is there a roster freeze already happened?
- 33:03[SPEAKER_00]: Had any Olympics?
- 33:05[SPEAKER_00]: Because again, all the scouts that were in the house tonight for neighbors were first Tampa.
- 33:11[SPEAKER_00]: I imagine that I have to imagine that you if that freeze hasn't gone into effect.
- 33:20[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so it's February 6th at 3 p.m.
- 33:24[SPEAKER_00]: So in three days,
- 33:26[SPEAKER_00]: You're going to have essentially a trade deadline.
- 33:28[SPEAKER_00]: I imagine you have all these.
- 33:31[SPEAKER_00]: You have all of these scouts in the house tonight because they're looking to try and get something done for the deadline, right?
- 33:37[SPEAKER_00]: That's at least.
- 33:39[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, tomorrow is a tomorrow.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_00]: Tomorrow, February 4th.
- 33:43[SPEAKER_00]: So I get, I'm getting contradicting.
- 33:44[SPEAKER_00]: I'm getting from Jason February 6th at 3 p.m. And then a barber is telling me it's tomorrow tomorrow.
- 33:52[SPEAKER_00]: So if somebody had confirmation on that, I would appreciate it.
- 33:55[SPEAKER_00]: But regardless, you got to imagine all these scouts are in the building because there might be trying to get something done before the Olympic break.
- 34:04[SPEAKER_00]: sad is here that you know has CUPL obviously a guy who is very vocal about how much you wanted to play for team Finland.
- 34:10[SPEAKER_00]: I have to take a step back and you know not go to Malana Cortina you know for the Olympics being replaced by Corposalo for team Finland.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_00]: You know, it's definitely, I feel I feel for him, but you got to get healthy, right?
- 34:28[SPEAKER_00]: At the end of the day, this is your team.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_00]: You want to represent your nation, but this is your team.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_00]: This is the team that pays you.
- 34:34[SPEAKER_00]: You have to get healthy.
- 34:35[SPEAKER_00]: So the broadcast had the six at three p.m.
- 34:38[SPEAKER_00]: So.
- 34:39[SPEAKER_00]: Right now, it looks like it's in a couple days at 3 p.m.
- 34:43[SPEAKER_00]: So we'll see.
- 34:44[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what we will see if anything changes.
- 34:49[SPEAKER_00]: There's definitely a lot of names.
- 34:50[SPEAKER_00]: I was so you know, Penairent is a big one.
- 34:52[SPEAKER_00]: Not being played by the Rangers, just because they plan on trading him.
- 34:56[SPEAKER_00]: They don't plan on
- 34:59[SPEAKER_00]: You know, up until the, you know, we'll see what happens after the Olympics, if they get something done, but I have to imagine he's going to fetch a pretty big return.
- 35:07[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, there are a lot of other names out there, you know, you think about the predators, they need to get thrown out there are former Sabre Ryan O'Reilly Steven cast Amicals, Eric Holla, Michael Bunting, given the way that you obviously saw Barry Trots.
- 35:24[SPEAKER_00]: You know, step away from as step down as GM and the owner flat out said they are not against considering a rebuild and if that's the case you have a lot of high paid players who are.
- 35:38[SPEAKER_00]: by and far, I will perform in their current contracts.
- 35:41[SPEAKER_00]: And Stan Coast is definitely, I wouldn't say I'll perform with his contract, he's getting paid a lot of money.
- 35:46[SPEAKER_00]: Please have it a great season compared to last year.
- 35:48[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe he's a guy that might get moved.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_00]: Michael Bunting is definitely an interesting name.
- 35:57[SPEAKER_00]: Eric Hallan always seems to be a guy that's involved in some type of trade discussions.
- 36:02[SPEAKER_00]: You know, every couple years,
- 36:04[SPEAKER_00]: Um, kind of a suitcase in my opinion.
- 36:06[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and then I got it.
- 36:08[SPEAKER_00]: Like we said, there's Philip Forersburg on that team.
- 36:10[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think he's going anywhere.
- 36:11[SPEAKER_00]: He just signed a very long term deal.
- 36:14[SPEAKER_00]: You have, like I said, Ryan O'Reilly.
- 36:17[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not sure if he's heading into a UFA year or not or what's what's the deal with his contract.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_00]: But a guy who is fantastic on faceoffs.
- 36:27[SPEAKER_00]: Really, really good on faceoffs.
- 36:29[SPEAKER_00]: I look at guys like Boon General at a Columbus Columbus A team that's probably on the verge of a rebuild and a guy who has an over 50% face-off percentage for his career.
- 36:40[SPEAKER_00]: That's something Buffalo could really, really, really use, really use.
- 36:45[SPEAKER_00]: I love love, love Boon General.
- 36:49[SPEAKER_00]: He's built for the playoffs.
- 36:51[SPEAKER_00]: He knows what it takes to get to the playoffs, to plan the playoffs.
- 36:58[SPEAKER_00]: were Yarmel Cuckoline and you know, opted out of trading, but Barovski and Paneram.
- 37:04[SPEAKER_00]: And they swept the Tampa Bay lightning in the first round.
- 37:10[SPEAKER_00]: And then I think it was, they took was a boss and they took Boston.
- 37:13[SPEAKER_00]: I think did Boston win the cup that year?
- 37:17[SPEAKER_00]: I can't remember.
- 37:19[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, they didn't win the cup.
- 37:21[SPEAKER_00]: I figured we won the cup that year.
- 37:23[SPEAKER_00]: No, it wasn't Boston.
- 37:24[SPEAKER_00]: Boston isn't one of the cup and quite some time.
- 37:28[SPEAKER_00]: I forgot who won the cup that year, but they took him to six games.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_00]: What was it, was it?
- 37:37[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, they went to the Eastern Conference Finals.
- 37:39[SPEAKER_00]: Bossie, I paused them and went with the Eastern Conference Finals that year.
- 37:42[SPEAKER_00]: And maybe they'd go to the finals.
- 37:43[SPEAKER_00]: I can't remember, but regardless, you know, Columbus took him to six games.
- 37:48[SPEAKER_00]: And again, who in general was a huge, huge part of that.
- 37:51[SPEAKER_00]: He's a big guy, he's not afraid, you know, throw the body around.
- 37:55[SPEAKER_00]: He's a natural born leader.
- 37:57[SPEAKER_00]: He'll drop the gloves he needs.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_00]: He will stick over teammates.
- 38:00[SPEAKER_00]: And again, a good solid middle six settlement who can, you know, go out there, bang the body, win face off, can play up and down your line up.
- 38:09[SPEAKER_00]: I would love to see Yarmel go after Boom Genre.
- 38:12[SPEAKER_00]: You know, there's a connection there.
- 38:14[SPEAKER_00]: There's already a connection there.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_00]: It's 32 years old.
- 38:17[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know the status is contract.
- 38:19[SPEAKER_00]: If he's going to be a UFA or not, but that's a guy who, I think, go after him might not cost you an
- 38:27[SPEAKER_00]: pay a little bit, but definitely worth bringing him in, no doubt about it.
- 38:33[SPEAKER_00]: So did you see T.S.N say the pressure to hire atoms to the G, oh my god.
- 38:39[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I saw that.
- 38:41[SPEAKER_00]: Have fun.
- 38:42[SPEAKER_00]: See you.
- 38:44[SPEAKER_00]: Have fun.
- 38:45[SPEAKER_00]: Choir of.
- 38:48[SPEAKER_00]: So, bro, are you all ready asleep?
- 38:51[SPEAKER_00]: No, I'm not asleep.
- 38:52[SPEAKER_00]: I have been up all day.
- 38:55[SPEAKER_00]: since five this morning.
