SPEAKER_00: Let's begin with the Wildcats.
• 1:00
SPEAKER_00: Johnson City comes into the game 2-0, and this is significant.
• 1:05
SPEAKER_00: They have already doubled their win total from last season when they finished 1-8.
• 1:10
SPEAKER_00: They're currently tied with Maine Enwell at the top of Class B Division III.
• 1:16
SPEAKER_00: They are also ranked 16th in Class B by the New York State Sports Writers Association.
• 1:23
SPEAKER_00: The Wildcats opened up by going on the road to Syracuse and beating a traditional contender in Henninger 48-6.
• 1:32
SPEAKER_00: Then they went to Owego last Saturday and came away with a 31-28 Class B division victory.
• 1:39
SPEAKER_00: The game may tell us more about this Johnson City team than the opener did.
• 1:45
SPEAKER_00: They had to come from behind.
• 1:48
SPEAKER_00: Owego was leading 13-10 at halftime.
• 1:52
SPEAKER_00: Johnson City answered with 14 points in the third quarter and then had to withstand a fourth quarter comeback by the Riverhawks.
• 2:01
SPEAKER_00: This type of game reveals something about a football team.
• 2:04
SPEAKER_00: Not just whether you can score when things are going your way, can you respond when they are not?
• 2:10
SPEAKER_00: And Johnson City definitely did that.
• 2:13
SPEAKER_00: Coach TJ Surskys had the Wildcats playing the style of football the Johnson City fans haven't enjoyed for a while.
• 2:22
SPEAKER_00: Now on to Susquehanna Valley on the other side.
• 2:25
SPEAKER_00: They came in, they come into this game with a 2-0 record, also, and they've been putting up points in bunches.
• 2:32
SPEAKER_00: The Sabres are built forward tough.
• 2:35
SPEAKER_00: And Coach Ford has them currently in a three-way tie for the lead in Class C Division V with Shenango Forks and Windsor.
• 2:45
SPEAKER_00: The Sabres opened with a 42-33 win over the Watkins Glenn Odessa Montour Storm.
• 2:52
SPEAKER_00: And that game gave us a pretty good introduction to the Susquehanna Valley offense.
• 2:57
SPEAKER_00: Sam Miller ran for 100 yards and two touchdowns.
• 3:01
SPEAKER_00: Maverick A Todd ran for 102 yards and a touchdown, including a 59-yard run.
• 3:08
SPEAKER_00: Nolan Weed completed seven of ten passes for 85 yards and two touchdowns.
• 3:13
SPEAKER_00: And Nick Layton had an 85-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
• 3:18
SPEAKER_00: Susquehanna Valley has demonstrated they have multiple student athletes capable of scoring in different ways.
• 3:25
SPEAKER_00: Then Saturday, Susquehanna Valley put up 47 points on the board against Trumansburg.
• 3:31
SPEAKER_00: So after two games, the Sabres have scored a total of 89 points.
• 3:35
SPEAKER_00: That's 44.5 points per game, with most of their scoring on the ground.
• 3:41
SPEAKER_00: They are averaging more than 200 yards rushing per game.
• 3:45
SPEAKER_00: So here's one of the big things for Friday night.
• 3:49
SPEAKER_00: Now, for cover four, what to watch for?
• 3:53
SPEAKER_00: This segment is where we go beyond the obvious and uncover something we think could impact the cover four showdown.
• 4:01
SPEAKER_00: Can the Johnson City defense slow down Susquehanna Valley's running attack?
• 4:06
SPEAKER_00: If the Sabres can establish the run, it opens everything else.
• 4:11
SPEAKER_00: And then there's Nolan Wheat.
• 4:13
SPEAKER_00: He's a junior, he's experienced, and he has already thrown four touchdown passes in two games.
• 4:19
SPEAKER_00: So Johnson City cannot simply load the box.
• 4:23
SPEAKER_00: Johnson City has plenty of weapons of its own.
• 4:27
SPEAKER_00: Kaylee Robinson, Finesse Morales, Keegan Gone, and Derekus Fracassong.
• 4:37
SPEAKER_00: And a group of players who have now experienced two different wins.
• 4:41
  SPEAKER_00: There's also a little history here.
• 4:44
SPEAKER_00: Johnson City beat Susquehanna Valley 36-20 last season.
• 4:49
SPEAKER_00: Both teams right now are undefeated at 2-0.
• 4:52
SPEAKER_00: And both have scored a lot of points.
• 4:55
SPEAKER_00: And both have something to prove.
• 4:57
