Remember we learned about today and yesterday? I've been using them! Lucas: That's awesome! Today, let's build on that and learn the days of the week. In Cantonese, each day is super easy: just say 星期 and then a number. Luna: Oh, like Monday is 'week one'? Lucas: Exactly! Monday is 星期一. Listen: 星期... 一. Say it with me: 星期一. Luna: 星期一. Lucas: Perfect! Tuesday is 星期二. 星期... 二. Your turn. Luna: 星期二. Lucas: Great! Wednesday is 星期三. 星期... 三. Try it. Luna: 星期三. Lucas: Nailed it! Thursday is 星期四. 星期... 四. Luna: 星期四. Lucas: Yes! Friday is 星期五. 星期... 五. Luna: 星期五. Oh, I love how consistent this is! Lucas: Right? Saturday is 星期六. 星期... 六. Luna: 星期六. Lucas: And Sunday is a bit special: instead of 七, we say 星期日. So 星期日. Luna: 星期日. That's cute. Sunday as 'week day' makes sense. Lucas: Exactly! Now, how do you ask 'What day is today?' in Cantonese? You can say: 今日係星期幾？ Let's break it down. 今日 means 'today', 係 means 'is', 星期 is 'week', 幾 means 'which number'. So 今日係星期幾？ Luna: 今日係星期幾？ What day is today? Lucas: Perfect! Let's practice. If today is Monday, I say: 今日係星期一. Your turn. Luna: 今日係星期一. Lucas: Great! If today is Wednesday: 今日係星期三. Luna: 今日係星期三. Lucas: And if today is Saturday: 今日係星期六. Luna: 今日係星期六. I think I've got this!
