- 0:49Speaker 8: Sport Shock Wayne Gandy. Good morning to you.
- 0:52Speaker 2: It is late July.
- 0:54Speaker 8: Uh there is a school teacher somewhere that is mad,
- 1:02Speaker 8: straight up. I'm talking about far hot mad. That is
- 1:09Speaker 8: July the twenty, because that means she or he or
- 1:16Speaker 8: about two weeks from clocking in again, lunch room, school
- 1:24Speaker 8: bus line, teach your parents, me and all that on deck,
- 1:31Speaker 8: and she or he woke up mad this morning, feeling
- 1:37Speaker 8: some kind of way that we're getting so close to
- 1:42Speaker 8: school going back, which means that what football it's knocking
- 1:47Speaker 8: you here, you kind of a little your little distance
- 1:51Speaker 8: from the door, and you're not really sure.
- 1:55Speaker 2: It's kind of real, real light. But every hour it.
- 2:01Speaker 8: Keeps getting louder and louder, and you hear the knocking.
- 2:04Speaker 2: It's coming. You're gonna have to open the door. Get ready.
- 2:08Speaker 2: You got about ten days left for training camp start,
- 2:12Speaker 2: and then it'll be here.
- 2:15Speaker 8: Then everybody will start hating on their quarterback. Everybody just start.
- 2:22Speaker 8: I can't believe this, I can't believe it all start again.
- 2:25Speaker 8: All that fresh air we've been breathing, all that carbon
- 2:29Speaker 8: monoxide will come back and start choking you. Our New
- 2:35Speaker 8: York fan will be depressed. Big Kenny will be delusional.
- 2:39Speaker 8: Comanch you greg Is, you know he's just over the
- 2:43Speaker 8: Cowboys and the bad producer will still find a way
- 2:51Speaker 8: to blame Matt Ryan for all failures of the Falcons.
- 2:56Speaker 8: You know, that's the only reason the Falcons have ever lost,
- 3:00Speaker 8: because they associated themselves with Matt Ryan.
- 3:03Speaker 2: So here we got to the team now, so he's
- 3:06Speaker 2: gonna have he's gonna he's gonna run that excuse into
- 3:09Speaker 2: the ground. When he was just broadcasting. It was his fault.
- 3:13Speaker 8: Max shouldn't have predicted us man how the man because
- 3:18Speaker 8: he was thinking about the game. But good morning to
- 3:26Speaker 8: you out there. Put your woes aside today, just today,
- 3:30Speaker 8: make an effert to put your woes aside, focus on
- 3:35Speaker 8: the positive, and try to live a great Monday. The
- 3:38Speaker 8: Sportshok Show is here. We are ready. The World Cup
- 3:42Speaker 8: has wrapped up. After yesterday's match that went into overtime,
- 3:50Speaker 8: had the final winner and finally, after about two thousand
- 3:56Speaker 8: shots on goal in overtime, the second old time Spain
- 4:01Speaker 8: finally got one to go in and they take home
- 4:06Speaker 8: the championship. For a team, as we said, two of
- 4:11Speaker 8: these teams tops in the world. They did battle once Argentina,
- 4:17Speaker 8: especially because Spain was already very offensive yesterday. Hats off
- 4:23Speaker 8: to Argentina. They went a long time eleven versus ten
- 4:30Speaker 8: without giving up a goal. They went a while there
- 4:32Speaker 8: for a long time, and so I think his name
- 4:36Speaker 8: Alvarez or Martinez got a red card. But they were
- 4:41Speaker 8: able to go and think about into double overtime before
- 4:43Speaker 8: they gave up a goal, and they went about ten
- 4:47Speaker 8: minutes left in regulation and an overtime down a man
- 4:52Speaker 8: and kept them off the board. The goalie a great job.
- 4:56Speaker 8: He was on in line to be the hero. He
- 4:59Speaker 8: was getting the next Nike commercial. If Argentina could have won,
- 5:06Speaker 8: he literally he literally knocked out. I'm talking about not
- 5:10Speaker 8: missus I'm talking about, actually tipped the ball from going
- 5:13Speaker 8: in the net.
- 5:15Speaker 2: Grabbed the ball at least eight times because they were
- 5:18Speaker 2: coming at him.
- 5:19Speaker 9: Uh.
- 5:20Speaker 8: It was a one sided fight that ended up with
- 5:23Speaker 8: a Spain victory over Argentina. So the Spaniards are the
- 5:29Speaker 8: champions of the world. Good morning, guys, Big Kenny the
- 5:33Speaker 8: funny man himself, the bad producing building and commandchie greg
- 5:38Speaker 8: Or on board morning. You guys checked the match out yesterday, sir, Yes,
- 5:44Speaker 8: I did.
- 5:45Speaker 5: And not like to address your football camp train camp
- 5:48Speaker 5: starts ten days. You said Kenny will be delusional. If
- 5:53Speaker 5: by delusional you you mean this is our year, then yeah,
- 5:57Speaker 5: I'll beat that. But y'all know wampionship prediction right now.
- 6:01Speaker 5: New York Jets in the Super Bowl, so everybody knows,
- 6:05Speaker 5: so you know, and I predict the Jets won't. He
- 6:09Speaker 5: will come last in the division.
- 6:11Speaker 2: That's negative energy, sir, No, that's negative energy. No, I'm
- 6:16Speaker 2: a realistic person. See that. You don't believe in geno
- 6:19Speaker 2: in that, That's what I'm saying. Excuse me.
- 6:22Speaker 8: I think that they're building something, They're trying to move
- 6:25Speaker 8: in the right way. They're making moves, getting rid of
- 6:27Speaker 8: some of those high priced guys like Sauce Gardener and
- 6:29Speaker 8: that de tackle. They're cleaning to finding some money. So
- 6:34Speaker 8: they raised their hand and surrender that the money we
- 6:38Speaker 8: have invested, the people we have here are not the people.
- 6:42Speaker 2: So sure it's not this not this year at least.
- 6:50Speaker 10: No.
- 6:51Speaker 8: I look at teams, people ask me they want me
- 6:54Speaker 8: to be. You know, I'm a big Stiller guy. Do
- 6:56Speaker 8: a Stiller podcast. Guy came on last week, UH and
- 7:01Speaker 8: he asked me a question on the show. I answered
- 7:04Speaker 8: the question the way I answered the question, he said
- 7:06Speaker 8: he at the end of my explanation he hit us
- 7:10Speaker 8: on online and felt like I didn't answer the question.
- 7:16Speaker 8: He asked me about Aaron Rodgers and Mike McCarthy and
- 7:21Speaker 8: will they win a championship. I never thought Mike McCarthy
- 7:25Speaker 8: and the new head coach of the Stellers and Aaron Rodgers.
- 7:29Speaker 8: I didn't think last year. There hasn't been a Stiller
- 7:32Speaker 8: team in about five years. I thought, I'm looking at
- 7:38Speaker 8: the personnel. Look at your team in a real light.
- 7:43Speaker 8: Stop being you know you ain't got the team you
- 7:46Speaker 8: can only how many times have I told the world,
- 7:49Speaker 8: only be mad at your team when you got the
- 7:52Speaker 8: hand and can't run the books.
- 7:56Speaker 11: But you.
- 7:58Speaker 2: And you ain't got but two books. You gotta go.
- 8:06Speaker 2: We're not running the board.
- 8:08Speaker 8: Out of the teams here, the Cowboys, if they work
- 8:15Speaker 8: it right, have personnel that could do something. The Jets don't.
- 8:25Speaker 8: The Falcons don't. The stealers can win their divid They
- 8:28Speaker 8: can do exactly what they did last year. Any further
- 8:33Speaker 8: to the Super Bowl would be the next team they play,
- 8:38Speaker 8: some key player got hurt the game before, like they
- 8:40Speaker 8: was catching teams like that.
- 8:43Speaker 2: Does that make sense? You're you're catching the team.
- 8:46Speaker 8: So I won this game, and then I catched the
- 8:48Speaker 8: Chiefs without my homes and then I beat that game
- 8:51Speaker 8: and I catched the Bills. Would have banged up this.
- 8:55Speaker 8: But let's be honest man, y'all guys. I mean, the
- 8:58Speaker 8: Falcons can't trying to find a quarterback, but I like
- 9:04Speaker 8: the moves they made. I thought that is a great
- 9:07Speaker 8: job re signing some people so that when they do
- 9:10Speaker 8: find the quarterback, there's something that the quarterback can cook with.
- 9:13Speaker 2: Right, that's right.
- 9:15Speaker 5: More transparency. You know, I'm still in the fan, fifty
- 9:18Speaker 5: seven year old man. Continue to always take something. It's
- 9:22Speaker 5: very interesting.
- 9:23Speaker 8: You said they were going to cook. I just said,
- 9:24Speaker 8: let us cook me, and I'm just going that's that's
- 9:26Speaker 8: your that's your prelude to hip hop. If you was twenty,
- 9:32Speaker 8: I would get it and let them grow. Glorialo Daddy,
- 9:38Speaker 8: it's just funny. But you said it's funny that you
- 9:42Speaker 8: are that far because you know that, right. But I'm
- 9:45Speaker 8: just piggybacking. You would be the Bill Belichick check of
- 9:49Speaker 8: hip hop.
- 9:50Speaker 5: Yeah, everybody wondering while y'all hang out together. Twice as
- 9:54Speaker 5: old as Glorialal, but maybe y'all just like each other.
- 10:00Speaker 5: It's okay saying man, I mean, come here what he said.
- 10:04Speaker 5: He's talking about her falcons? Her talking about my falcons. Yeah,
- 10:08Speaker 5: hit Glow and see how old it is.
- 10:10Speaker 2: Glow. You have to hit her in the DM. She
- 10:12Speaker 2: doesn't use regular phone. That's how young.
- 10:15Speaker 5: She's one of those here. Andy's not a text message
- 10:19Speaker 5: in DM. She don't you want to It'll be twenty
- 10:23Speaker 5: seven in like a week. So she's younger than my daughter.
- 10:28Speaker 5: So he would be the creepy old man.
- 10:31Speaker 2: Glow. I'll be the wise father figure that give her knowledge.
- 10:37Speaker 5: But you know, hey, but like I said, a little well,
- 10:39Speaker 5: right now, you need to get off my daughter Instagram
- 10:41Speaker 5: page because now you're telling me that's the age group
- 10:44Speaker 5: you would do.
- 10:44Speaker 8: So I don't need you to ever come in here
- 10:46Speaker 8: talking about I saw Phoenix do anything and I've never
- 10:51Speaker 8: had but you have. Let him cook, don't let's yeah,
- 10:55Speaker 8: let that cook.
- 10:57Speaker 2: With gas.
- 10:58Speaker 8: Don't sit there and lie to me. Tell me never
- 11:00Speaker 8: had that conversation. You're just telling me that you down
- 11:02Speaker 8: with the twenty seven year old.
- 11:04Speaker 2: No I did not. You just not saying that.
- 11:05Speaker 5: You say you be the wise father, You be the
- 11:07Speaker 5: wise all I mean, in fact, I'm gonna speak of man.
- 11:11Speaker 2: Let's move on. Let's go back to soccer because let
- 11:14Speaker 2: her cook. Listen, let her cook, so we get little
- 11:17Speaker 2: in full transparency.
- 11:18Speaker 5: I'm still in the fan transfer portal on my way
- 11:21Speaker 5: back to Chicago. I just wanted to get on for that.
- 11:24Speaker 5: He made me uncomfortable with more sports. I gotta go
- 11:28Speaker 5: scrub my daughter's social media.
- 11:29Speaker 8: Now you get it of us, and he got like
- 11:34Speaker 8: nine accounts, so when you find it twice, don't think
- 11:37Speaker 8: that he don't have too more. Let him cook to break.
- 11:39Speaker 8: We'll be back more than sports, shock show, let her
- 11:42Speaker 8: cook too much.
- 11:43Speaker 12: Chick out bath, oh God, let her cook saw something trying.
- 11:48Speaker 6: Let me cook big goa come through shut down.

- 14:20Speaker 2: it to a completely different level this year where we
- 14:23Speaker 2: highlight an accolete that has taken their game to the
- 14:26Speaker 2: next level.
- 14:35Speaker 16: It's going down.
- 14:39Speaker 2: You better move, you better days less night. You welcome
- 14:45Speaker 2: themb the won you O.
- 14:51Speaker 8: Welcome back to this Boy Shock Show. I'm the sport
- 14:53Speaker 8: Shock Wayne Candy, Good morning till you. We'll get to
- 14:57Speaker 8: all of the world up situation. Talk about halftime here
- 15:04Speaker 8: in a second, all the people in the stands, the
- 15:07Speaker 8: impact of the last six seven weeks on all phases
- 15:13Speaker 8: of our lives. But we first have to start back
- 15:17Speaker 8: because when we ended the show last week, story pops
- 15:22Speaker 8: up as we were packing up about World. If y'all
- 15:28Speaker 8: didn't know, that was Jerry Rice the legend and called
- 15:35Speaker 8: him World.
- 15:36Speaker 5: And if you pretend like you don't know, that's how
- 15:38Speaker 5: you should say. If you pretend like you don't know,
- 15:41Speaker 5: they called him World. That was his nickname, the guy
- 15:44Speaker 5: that basically redefined how to play the position with the
- 15:48Speaker 5: consistency and the longevity.
- 15:53Speaker 2: That's the dominance.
- 15:54Speaker 8: Jerry wasn't the greatest athlete, you know, he wasn't the
- 15:57Speaker 8: greatest speech at that position. They didn't have the athleticism
- 16:02Speaker 8: of Randy Moss, and he didn't have the speed of
- 16:06Speaker 8: Tarik Heal. But the precision, the hands, the route running,
- 16:11Speaker 8: the consistency is what made him a legend to the
- 16:16Speaker 8: way they called him world Well. He was at the
- 16:21Speaker 8: American Century Championship in Lake Tahoe last week, and when
- 16:27Speaker 8: I see these moments, I get a little worried. These
- 16:31Speaker 8: are the kind of things where to me, maybe you
- 16:35Speaker 8: send in your CTE papers. Jerry Rice is golfing. A
- 16:43Speaker 8: heckler makes some noise doing his backswing. Jerry, like I
- 16:49Speaker 8: would imagine any golfer, would respectfully turn around to address
- 16:57Speaker 8: who was yelling doing his back swing, decided that he
- 17:03Speaker 8: didn't see the person still there, and then decided to
- 17:08Speaker 8: chase after the person. And that's where I get worried
- 17:16Speaker 8: that you're chasing after someone because at that point everything
- 17:24Speaker 8: that would have happened, you would have been the person
- 17:30Speaker 8: who would have been in the wrong. Can the church
- 17:35Speaker 8: say amen, amen, amen? Okay, So right there, on the scene.
- 17:42Speaker 8: You would have been within the parameters of you could
- 17:46Speaker 8: have sold that story, right, sell story, But you can't
- 17:54Speaker 8: chase and then get into altercation premeditated. Then throw your
- 18:00Speaker 8: hands up.
- 18:01Speaker 5: Now.
- 18:02Speaker 8: Fortunately, from what the story in the video shows, Jerry
- 18:05Speaker 8: did not find the person, or at least from maybe
- 18:10Speaker 8: he did find him, and by the time he found
- 18:12Speaker 8: he pulled up and in it got ten seconds of
- 18:15Speaker 8: jogging at sixty three years old. Maybe he started realizing, who,
- 18:20Speaker 8: I'm not gonna be in shape for this fight, so
- 18:26Speaker 8: he changed his mind. But guys, when I don't know
- 18:30Speaker 8: if you saw the video or heard about it, but
- 18:32Speaker 8: I really did, and I that's what I'm saying. I
- 18:35Speaker 8: get the part of I've seen golfers. I've stood on
- 18:39Speaker 8: the golf course where you know, and people would ask
- 18:41Speaker 8: the security, or they ask people to be quiet, or
- 18:45Speaker 8: they might even walk over and say something. Yeah, I
- 18:48Speaker 8: would imagine bad producer golf. That's not something. Well, but
- 18:52Speaker 8: to actually leave the t box the tea box for
- 18:57Speaker 8: smoke bick Kenny.
- 18:58Speaker 2: Now now is the thing?
- 19:00Speaker 4: What?
- 19:00Speaker 5: What?
- 19:01Speaker 17: What was this event that he was This is a
- 19:03Speaker 17: big celebrity event than all the uh, it's a it's
- 19:07Speaker 17: a professional event. But it's one of the ones that basketball,
- 19:10Speaker 17: football players, entertainers all playing. It's like one of these
- 19:14Speaker 17: big events at Lake Tahoe. It's been going on for years.
- 19:17Speaker 17: But this charity, yeah everything, we're golfing his charity.
- 19:22Speaker 5: Okay, they're raising money and we're talking about Jay Rice,
- 19:24Speaker 5: the super Hall of Fame world world wide receiver from
- 19:31Speaker 5: the NFL. Yes, so what wasn't no money, no trophy
- 19:34Speaker 5: other than he can win.
- 19:36Speaker 2: No, he can win.
- 19:38Speaker 17: He can win a prize as a competitor, as the amateur.
- 19:43Speaker 17: On that celebrity side, they still have a chance to
- 19:45Speaker 17: win a trophy, and they really want to win.
- 19:48Speaker 2: They competing.
- 19:49Speaker 17: You have from Peyton Manning to Steph Curry, all them
- 19:51Speaker 17: are these gentlemen that you know pretty soon you'll see
- 19:55Speaker 17: Lebron out there playing in it. They want to compete
- 19:58Speaker 17: and win, but too defendivect Heckler. Before you go, before I.
- 20:03Speaker 2: Go, I mean before I go for it, you over
- 20:07Speaker 2: talking me.
- 20:08Speaker 5: You I was, I was making a point, You answered
- 20:11Speaker 5: the question that I had asked, and then you keep
- 20:13Speaker 5: on talking. I want to know now, it's not something
- 20:17Speaker 5: that he is playing professionally for. It's a craps and
- 20:21Speaker 5: giggles weekend. And then the other part about it is,
- 20:25Speaker 5: do you know what the heckler said?
- 20:28Speaker 2: This is what he said. He said four.
- 20:31Speaker 17: But watching the video and knowing God Jerry hit the
- 20:35Speaker 17: guy didn't say nothing to add to Jerry hit the ball,
- 20:37Speaker 17: and he saw Jerry shot going to the left, he
- 20:40Speaker 17: said four. Listen, and everyone knows that when it's a
- 20:44Speaker 17: bad errant shot, you're supposed to say four. So only
- 20:47Speaker 17: thing I can imagine the guy's been following Jerry Rice around.
- 20:50Speaker 5: So I'm hit a couple of baits. So the article
- 20:53Speaker 5: I'm reading they reported it wrong. I watched the video
- 20:57Speaker 5: shows me. I know what the article says, but I
- 21:02Speaker 5: the video evidence. When Jerry hits the ball, the man
- 21:05Speaker 5: doesn't say nothing. After the ball is hit and Jerry's
- 21:09Speaker 5: in his back swing, come, he says four. Then then
- 21:12Speaker 5: Jerry turns around. So the article let's go back to
- 21:17Speaker 5: So the article I'm reading.
- 21:21Speaker 2: Wrote it wrong that someone was yelling in his backswing.
- 21:26Speaker 17: He did not say nothing until Jerry after Jerry hit
- 21:29Speaker 17: the ball. That's what's the yelling in your backswing? Is
- 21:33Speaker 17: before or why you swing? Let's try this again.
- 21:40Speaker 8: So the article that I'm reading where it said somebody
- 21:44Speaker 8: yelled in Jerry's backswing is wrong.
- 21:48Speaker 2: Yes, because he didn't yell.
- 21:50Speaker 8: Let's go to break. We'll be right back with more said.
- 21:53Speaker 8: Let it cook one more time, because maybe that's what
- 21:56Speaker 8: we got it wrong.
- 21:58Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 21:58Speaker 8: When I asked questions, I like yes or no, and
- 22:02Speaker 8: then I like whatever else. And if you like the
- 22:04Speaker 8: whatever else, let it cook though, hold on, let it
- 22:07Speaker 8: cook the break and put us not talk about to
- 22:11Speaker 8: not do that today, kids, when I say go to music,
- 22:14Speaker 8: everybody quiet.
- 22:15Speaker 18: Big, come through crime, Hey, let her cook too much
- 22:19Speaker 18: cake out bat oh God, let her cook always saw
- 22:22Speaker 18: something trying.
- 22:24Speaker 12: Let me cook big, come through, shut down.
- 22:26Speaker 2: I'm bringing.
- 22:29Speaker 10: John Boy, Wayne Born of the sports Josh Hill with
- 22:31Speaker 10: Wayne Gandia's coming up next.

- 22:37Speaker 1: using their typewriters. Why should it be any different for
- 22:42Speaker 1: us kids and our cell phones. Distracted driving was the
- 22:45Speaker 1: cause of more than three thousand deaths in twenty twenty two.
- 22:49Speaker 1: Come on, we're smarter than this. Let's put down the
- 22:52Speaker 1: phones and focus on the roads.

- 26:03Speaker 8: is there someone that you can think of from your

- 26:17Speaker 8: to the show. I'm the sport of Shaquayne Candy coming
- 26:19Speaker 8: to you. Greg in the building, Big Kenny, the funny
- 26:21Speaker 8: man himself, the bad producer. The World Cup just finishing
- 26:24Speaker 8: up with a victory by Spain.
- 26:28Speaker 2: Guy.
- 26:28Speaker 8: Beer sales skyrocketed, but east last seven weeks the beer
- 26:37Speaker 8: is back.
- 26:38Speaker 2: Is that the is that? Or is that just a
- 26:42Speaker 2: is it?
- 26:42Speaker 5: I think it depends on like what country, yes, or
- 26:47Speaker 5: the whole Irish nation just pushed it? What were they
- 26:50Speaker 5: calling the Ireland nation or was it from Scotland Scotland.
- 26:54Speaker 2: Which it was a group that was following They had
- 26:57Speaker 2: a name Scottish Knights or something.
- 27:00Speaker 5: But now now are we to say that Remember when
- 27:05Speaker 5: they were saying that the NFL was just a whole
- 27:07Speaker 5: ploy to sell food, but that was that was the
- 27:11Speaker 5: uber the uber campaign. So now are they saying that
- 27:15Speaker 5: soccer was just this whole ploy to sell beer? Now
- 27:18Speaker 5: now the beer sales are back up?
- 27:21Speaker 21: What?
- 27:21Speaker 2: What?
- 27:21Speaker 5: What? What have we replaced the beer with? First of all,
- 27:25Speaker 5: that they had gone down? Was it hard alcohol in America, Yes,
- 27:29Speaker 5: that you don't drink it was a mine, was it?
- 27:32Speaker 5: I mean because beer For me, every time I see
- 27:36Speaker 5: a major sporting event, it is always headlined by a
- 27:41Speaker 5: beer marketer.
- 27:43Speaker 2: Period.
- 27:44Speaker 5: They're on the jumbo trons, it's on the the bold
- 27:49Speaker 5: emblazon signs inside the.
- 27:52Speaker 2: Park, it's cast on the it's it's the approach of
- 27:58Speaker 2: the on the court of the it's in parson of
- 28:01Speaker 2: the fan.
- 28:01Speaker 22: Like.
- 28:02Speaker 2: Yes, in America, like beer will be advertised everywhere. But
- 28:07Speaker 2: I think as far as what the sporting event is
- 28:11Speaker 2: in America, we look at soccer totally different than everywhere
- 28:16Speaker 2: else around the world where people came here from Scotland, Ireland,
- 28:22Speaker 2: wherever they came here. But part of when they go
- 28:26Speaker 2: to a game, they're going to drink beer. Well, I
- 28:29Speaker 2: know that.
- 28:30Speaker 8: I think what McKinney is alluding to is in an
- 28:33Speaker 8: American spirit.
- 28:34Speaker 6: I know that.
- 28:37Speaker 2: I will say in the last.
- 28:42Speaker 8: Decade of me doing anything at my home like watch
- 28:48Speaker 8: parties or Super Bowl or even a Fourth or July party,
- 28:53Speaker 8: I can serve as one hundred people.
- 29:00Speaker 2: With a twelve pack of beer. That's how little beer
- 29:05Speaker 2: wow people. To the point.
- 29:09Speaker 8: I had to at some point took all the beer
- 29:12Speaker 8: out of the refrigerator, open it and throw it away
- 29:16Speaker 8: because they.
- 29:16Speaker 2: Had been in there that long. And I only buy.
- 29:22Speaker 5: A twelve pack. And so that's a perfect You're the
- 29:26Speaker 5: perfect person. You don't drink, but you've served drinks. What
- 29:29Speaker 5: did they replace it with?
- 29:30Speaker 2: What do you serve? Most of heart liquor? Wine?
- 29:34Speaker 8: Every year it changes and it became one period it
- 29:38Speaker 8: was wine where you needed more wine, but nobody really
- 29:42Speaker 8: wanted the beer. And this is like one o'clock, four
- 29:45Speaker 8: o'clock NFL or this is four o'clock SEC game. They
- 29:52Speaker 8: just don't want beer like that. And I'm talking about
- 29:56Speaker 8: like in a decade period of time.
- 29:58Speaker 5: And it's interesting that you don't do social media because
- 30:01Speaker 5: I would wonder if there was some sort of correlation
- 30:05Speaker 5: between a social media campaign or viral moment that revolved
- 30:13Speaker 5: around the oh, we're all on wine now or oops,
- 30:16Speaker 5: let's you know it's cocktail time now, because we've gone
- 30:19Speaker 5: through those periods and that's how people become aware of it.
- 30:22Speaker 5: And then everybody at some point starts drinking wine during
- 30:26Speaker 5: football games. But that's odd in that they haven't changed
- 30:30Speaker 5: the marketing.
- 30:31Speaker 8: No, And I'm and I'm not just speaking of I'm
- 30:34Speaker 8: talking about like even if the younger generation they don't
- 30:39Speaker 8: need beer right right to have an event, they just
- 30:43Speaker 8: don't they so I can't. I don't know how to
- 30:46Speaker 8: spread that around. And I guess you know, this would
- 30:49Speaker 8: be interesting to go to different tailgates. But even when
- 30:52Speaker 8: I would tailgate outside the Falcon Games, you didn't need
- 30:56Speaker 8: a lot of beer. You could you can do a
- 30:58Speaker 8: whole tailgate. He's in my environment for.
- 31:04Speaker 2: Twelve. Well, I'm saying a lot of.
- 31:06Speaker 17: A lot of people are going to like these k
- 31:09Speaker 17: and drinks, this pre made like the cut water. That's
- 31:14Speaker 17: one new drink, this with from beer, the I P
- 31:19Speaker 17: what do they call a Yeah, a lot of people
- 31:21Speaker 17: are going more from that to the I P A
- 31:23Speaker 17: like but it's a but like something about it does
- 31:27Speaker 17: it's something that's more healthier and.
- 31:29Speaker 2: The I don't get I don't any of those. It's
- 31:35Speaker 2: and then classic you know, Bludweiser or Cords or whatever.
- 31:40Speaker 2: They're going outside of that, they're going to the more
- 31:44Speaker 2: uh not obscure, but the specialized craft craft.
- 31:48Speaker 5: Yeah, And and that's that's interesting that again it's still
- 31:54Speaker 5: the anchor, uh sponsor for all of the American sports events.
- 31:59Speaker 8: So I can see how that data that, But the
- 32:02Speaker 8: rest of the world still and they drink it, and
- 32:08Speaker 8: beer was the thing that went along with sports. You
- 32:11Speaker 8: wanted a beer more than you wanted some heart alcohol,
- 32:15Speaker 8: and I guess would drink beer. They would not want
- 32:18Speaker 8: a bunch of tequila shots right a game.
- 32:24Speaker 5: And it seems like maybe if they're still being the
- 32:28Speaker 5: major broadcaster, maybe they're not getting their return. We're spending
- 32:31Speaker 5: all this money to say, drink beer, and nobody's drinking beer.
- 32:34Speaker 5: So but that's that's odd that the sales have dropped
- 32:39Speaker 5: like that, and I can't think of anything that has refect.
- 32:41Speaker 8: And it could be just that that part of our society,
- 32:44Speaker 8: which could be by the numbers, because if you take
- 32:48Speaker 8: as bad producer refers to them as the culture, that
- 32:52Speaker 8: could be if the culture changed, that could be that
- 32:55Speaker 8: four or five that fell off because the culture moved
- 33:00Speaker 8: away from from beer, so that left other parts open.
- 33:07Speaker 8: So there there might be the same and everybody have
- 33:10Speaker 8: to keep their eyes. So I'm not saying, but that
- 33:12Speaker 8: can be the fall off in the culture. The culture
- 33:15Speaker 8: moved away from beer. They have moved and as I said,
- 33:20Speaker 8: they moved the wine and they moved to whatever and this,
- 33:26Speaker 8: and then the next year you come to the point
- 33:28Speaker 8: I had to just say every year before football season,
- 33:32Speaker 8: I make an announcement like, hey, bring whatever it is
- 33:35Speaker 8: that y'all are on now, because I don't know and
- 33:40Speaker 8: I'm not about I'm just going to keep the staples
- 33:43Speaker 8: whatever y'all are on, whatever new chaser.
- 33:47Speaker 5: Or new like you're saying the cut water, I don't
- 33:50Speaker 5: know anything about. If you and see, I thought that
- 33:55Speaker 5: was a sports drink. That's an alcoholic beverage.
- 33:57Speaker 2: Okay, it's a lot of there's a lot out of
- 34:01Speaker 2: tequila based or margarita's based.
- 34:04Speaker 8: And those sales have gone up. And then you invite
- 34:07Speaker 8: the world. I think the world still in just beer
- 34:13Speaker 8: for what you're offering me. Sports and beer still go together.
- 34:18Speaker 8: Sports and beer. We it used to be burgers and
- 34:22Speaker 8: hot dogs or sports events. Then the chicken wing replaced
- 34:26Speaker 8: burgers and hot dogs. So you rarely go to any
- 34:30Speaker 8: kind of anything and there's not chicken wing. That's not
- 34:34Speaker 8: chicken wing.
- 34:35Speaker 5: Yeah, and then come on, now, let's talk When you
- 34:38Speaker 5: talked about you talk about the since we're coming up
- 34:41Speaker 5: on football season, you talk about tailgating. In recent years,
- 34:45Speaker 5: I've made a number of tailgates and I noticed that
- 34:49Speaker 5: the coolers are now packed with premium uh liquor, premium
- 34:54Speaker 5: alcohol with mixers. They have a small section for beer.
- 34:58Speaker 5: It used to be just rows and rolls of beer.
- 35:01Speaker 5: Now there's a small section for beer and the premium
- 35:04Speaker 5: liquor and the wine. They serve with more choice cuts
- 35:06Speaker 5: of meat, so it's not burgers and hot dogs anymore.
- 35:11Speaker 5: They have, you know, the gourmet Korean fried chicken or
- 35:18Speaker 5: stuff like that, and they bring out all of these
- 35:20Speaker 5: cuts of steak, and I know they do turkey necks,
- 35:24Speaker 5: and you know, to me, that's brand new at a tailgate.
- 35:29Speaker 5: It used to be beer, burgers and brats where the
- 35:32Speaker 5: three bees, and now it's turned into all them a
- 35:38Speaker 5: restaurant style atmosphere. Outside the state, we want to be
- 35:41Speaker 5: sophisticated with us.
- 35:45Speaker 8: I go beer, Gentlemen. We do know that different countries
- 35:51Speaker 8: still consume beer. Yeah, so that might be where and
- 35:56Speaker 8: we have to I haven't been everywhere to be able
- 35:58Speaker 8: to speak for, but out of where I do, I
- 36:01Speaker 8: do know it seems that hard liquor consumption is If
- 36:08Speaker 8: I go to a Hawk game and I'm down there
- 36:10Speaker 8: watching people drink at the you know, at the bar area,
- 36:16Speaker 8: they're more likely to ask the bartender for alcohol than
- 36:22Speaker 8: a beer. You rarely see somebody even sitting at their
- 36:26Speaker 8: seat with a beer. You don't even see the guys
- 36:31Speaker 8: carrying up they they still they drink, not their beer
- 36:36Speaker 8: and sports.
- 36:37Speaker 5: Because I've gone to the Hawks game exclusively with someone
- 36:40Speaker 5: like yourself. I know where you can go into the
- 36:43Speaker 5: v I P drink place and I asked for a
- 36:45Speaker 5: beer and they looked at me like, who's man is this?
- 36:48Speaker 8: And this dude get in the tunnel. It's usually sponsored
- 36:52Speaker 8: by alcohol and not a beer.
- 36:56Speaker 17: Not a beer, right, And so when I noticed that
- 36:59Speaker 17: the guys, they're not even in the stands anymore. Remember
- 37:01Speaker 17: how they used to carry the coolers and beer.
- 37:04Speaker 2: Get your beer. Get your beer that's not even as
- 37:08Speaker 2: heavy as it's not used to walk up and down.
- 37:09Speaker 2: They don't even see it. There's one guy for the
- 37:11Speaker 2: whole stadium. We'll be back more to Sports Shocks Show
- 37:15Speaker 2: right after this security but no funny like this in

- 39:32Speaker 25: I'll sing e Fron the Big Janny, Welcome back to
- 39:37Speaker 25: the Sports Shock Show.
- 39:38Speaker 8: I'm in the Sports Shock Wayne Candy. Good morning to
- 39:40Speaker 8: you out there and listening. And we were talking about
- 39:45Speaker 8: the World Cup. We're gonna World Cup introduced halftime. We'll
- 39:50Speaker 8: talk about that. We do have a quick comment from
- 39:52Speaker 8: one of our lawyer listeners about the beer sales, and
- 39:55Speaker 8: I was just enlightening the guys. I've been planning for
- 39:57Speaker 8: a wedding with a lot of people and received a
- 40:04Speaker 8: you know, cocktail beverage list of what we're going to need,
- 40:09Speaker 8: and no beer, Not one beer was on the not
- 40:12Speaker 8: one request for a beer of something to have for
- 40:18Speaker 8: the guest. Now you can say it's a certain ceremony,
- 40:23Speaker 8: but still you roll back twenty years ago go to
- 40:27Speaker 8: a wedding somebody standing over there. You just took the
- 40:30Speaker 8: beer and put it in a cup, just giving it
- 40:33Speaker 8: to right now.
- 40:36Speaker 2: But you said our loyal listener Jared as Yeah.
- 40:40Speaker 5: Lawyer listener Jared Lloyd said that weed has replaced beer.
- 40:44Speaker 5: And if you look at the legalization and decriminalization of marijuana,
- 40:53Speaker 5: I have noticed that it is more present, more visibly
- 40:58Speaker 5: present at tailgates. And now they have vape pins, they
- 41:04Speaker 5: do the gummies, they do the THC infuse drinks. So
- 41:09Speaker 5: what may look like a sprintzer or what we used
- 41:12Speaker 5: to call a wine cooler may actually have THC in it.
- 41:17Speaker 2: So uh and they didn't have to go that far.
- 41:19Speaker 2: It can be uh a a cola drink.
- 41:23Speaker 5: Yeah, and you know but uh, the proliferation of legalized
- 41:29Speaker 5: marijuana has infiltrated, uh a great sports function where you
- 41:36Speaker 5: used to go and it used to be you'd see
- 41:38Speaker 5: a keg. Now you go and you see a circle
- 41:41Speaker 5: of people smoking mass dis question, can who you think
- 41:43Speaker 5: is gonna be the first team to have that stadium
- 41:46Speaker 5: spot with the first marijuana legalize or Pat Well, I
- 41:52Speaker 5: don't or we sell or they selling it? The got
- 41:54Speaker 5: a cannabis station and you could buy instead of beer,
- 41:57Speaker 5: you could buy you a pre roll in the state
- 41:59Speaker 5: at the stadium. Well, to me, I don't think that
- 42:02Speaker 5: the NFL will allow that because now you're marrying your
- 42:06Speaker 5: team ethics with the brand. The brand is going to
- 42:10Speaker 5: be the brand and hold its morals high above all.
- 42:13Speaker 5: But you look at places like a l A and Denver,
- 42:17Speaker 5: Well outside is that already? But Seattle? Which who has it?
- 42:23Speaker 5: The Brooklyn Nets New York Liberty have their partner with
- 42:28Speaker 5: mind n y n D. They are a cannabis wellness
- 42:34Speaker 5: recovery uh drink.
- 42:37Speaker 2: The stadium is named that they are. They are a sponsor.
- 42:42Speaker 5: Okay, I thought he said the name of a stadium
- 42:45Speaker 5: in the stadium or be it put put that cannabiside
- 42:48Speaker 5: the stadium.
- 42:48Speaker 17: Cannabis distribution. They have every anything if they could sell
- 42:53Speaker 17: it a pre roll in the stadium. Like if this
- 42:55Speaker 17: company they say we want to put a shop at well, I.
- 42:58Speaker 8: Think you would have to maybe has pre roll? Is
- 43:01Speaker 8: pre roll something that has hit the market. Yeah, that
- 43:06Speaker 8: I'm saying.
- 43:06Speaker 5: When you go to a dispensary, and my complete thought
- 43:10Speaker 5: was that you already have the parking lot of these venues,
- 43:14Speaker 5: these stadiums where people openly and freely use marijuana and
- 43:18Speaker 5: marijuana products of all kinds. So to bring it inside
- 43:21Speaker 5: the stadium and activate some sort of legislation is unnecessary. Well,
- 43:27Speaker 5: like they can say a wellness drink and market it
- 43:30Speaker 5: to fans who will go.
- 43:32Speaker 2: Out and find that drink. Well in Seattle.
- 43:34Speaker 17: I haven't been to the stadium, but people have been there,
- 43:37Speaker 17: they say at a certain point in time at the
- 43:39Speaker 17: Seahawks games.
- 43:40Speaker 2: It's like seemed like everybody lights up in the stadium because.
- 43:44Speaker 5: Uncle Charlie just said, don't be surprised when you see
- 43:46Speaker 5: a cannabis at a football stadium.
- 43:49Speaker 2: It's coming.
- 43:51Speaker 8: Wouldn't it have to be more of in a drink
- 43:54Speaker 8: though I can't. You can't smoke. You can't smoke inside
- 43:59Speaker 8: state publum in public thing. Yeah, so but we came
- 44:03Speaker 8: pull out a cigarette in us, right. They even say
- 44:06Speaker 8: vate pins too, So.
- 44:08Speaker 2: That's I'm saying. So I would have to come up
- 44:10Speaker 2: and get you edible or the.
- 44:13Speaker 5: Drinks, right, So maybe they will have some THC infused
- 44:18Speaker 5: edible items. Uh, you know, because it spans the spectrum,
- 44:23Speaker 5: the same way they have the luxury restaurant where you
- 44:26Speaker 5: can look at the players come to the tunnel through
- 44:29Speaker 5: the glass. They could have a chef that prepares those
- 44:32Speaker 5: things for the people who want The.
- 44:33Speaker 8: World Cup halftime featuring Madonna, Justin Biever, Shakira and what
- 44:42Speaker 8: was that group BTS BTS halftime first time only so
- 44:48Speaker 8: you people out there with your sledge hammlers that just
- 44:50Speaker 8: want to bash. The first time they've ever done this.
- 44:56Speaker 8: They extended, they broke the rule halftime. It was only
- 44:59Speaker 8: supposed to be fifteen. They made it thirty. They offering
- 45:01Speaker 8: a show trying to piece together, trying to learn how
- 45:05Speaker 8: to deliver. I think next time you see they'll probably
- 45:10Speaker 8: go from trying to have four acts maybe three acts,
- 45:15Speaker 8: or the logistics will be better. But before you get
- 45:18Speaker 8: your sled tammer out and go, they shouldn't have done it,
- 45:21Speaker 8: because you know, that's that's all we've become, is a society.
- 45:27Speaker 8: Donna came out first. She passed it on, I think
- 45:31Speaker 8: to BTS. BTS passed it on to Justin Bieber. Jason
- 45:36Speaker 8: Bieber passed it to Shakira. Shakira had a guest person
- 45:40Speaker 8: that they're a little.
- 45:43Speaker 2: Rap in her song. Did you guys see it? Yeah?
- 45:47Speaker 5: I saw it?
- 45:48Speaker 2: Did you did you see it, producer, Yes, it wasn't.
- 45:51Speaker 2: It wasn't.
- 45:51Speaker 17: I didn't think nothing was wrong. I didn't know they
- 45:53Speaker 17: were criticized. The national anthem was at halftime?
- 45:57Speaker 2: Correct? Was it at the beginning? At the beginning? Always
- 46:02Speaker 2: at the beginning?
- 46:03Speaker 5: Because someone said it was at halftime, and I was like, no,
- 46:05Speaker 5: I saw the entire halftime program.
- 46:08Speaker 2: Uh would have been halftime?
- 46:09Speaker 5: Yeah, well I don't know someone Uh, and I've got
- 46:12Speaker 5: to find the outlet that said the halftime show, and no,
- 46:16Speaker 5: I know what it was this morning?
- 46:18Speaker 2: Uh a broadcaster who's who was errant in their reporting,
- 46:25Speaker 2: That's what it was. But they had a closing ceremony,
- 46:28Speaker 2: Jennifer Hudson. Did the event start exactly?
- 46:32Speaker 5: And in this reporting I tuned in, uh, right as
- 46:37Speaker 5: halftime was starting and they introduced Madonna, and so I
- 46:41Speaker 5: was thinking, I've seen it from the start of the performance.
- 46:45Speaker 5: And then this morning when they were like, Jennifer Hudson, uh,
- 46:49Speaker 5: national anthem halftime, I was like, no, I know, I
- 46:51Speaker 5: didn't miss that, but they were wrong. And it seems like,
- 46:59Speaker 5: first of all, I don't know how many people are NBTS,
- 47:01Speaker 5: how many people in the eight Yeah, at least seven
- 47:05Speaker 5: at least seven.
- 47:07Speaker 2: So, uh was any of this remember when we had
- 47:11Speaker 2: the Bad Bunny?
- 47:13Speaker 15: Uh?
- 47:13Speaker 5: Nobody understands. Uh, this isn't Do you think anybody who's
- 47:18Speaker 5: a soccer fan watched this and thought what is this about?
- 47:22Speaker 2: Why are we we're talking about the other sides? To break?
- 47:24Speaker 2: More to the Sports talk show right after this freaking stuff?
- 47:36Speaker 2: So when when don't go Awayne.
- 47:41Speaker 10: Born of the Sports John Show with Wayne Dambia's coming
- 47:44Speaker 10: up next.
- 47:46Speaker 19: Some people won't give you the real talk on drugs,
- 47:49Speaker 19: but it's time we know the facts. Fentanyl is killing people.
- 47:53Speaker 19: It's a powerful opio It often made illegally and commonly
- 47:56Speaker 19: mixed with illicted drugs. It can even be pressed into
- 47:59Speaker 19: counterfeit pill that resemble prescription medications. Just two milligrams, about
- 48:03Speaker 19: the size of a few grains of sand, could potentially
- 48:06Speaker 19: be lethal. This isn't an ad to scare you, but
- 48:08Speaker 19: it is an AD to make you think twice. Get

- 48:16Speaker 11: Talking about guns with others might not always feel comfortable,
- 48:19Speaker 11: but it could save a life. Here's a way to
- 48:21Speaker 11: start a conversation. Your family is going over to your
- 48:24Speaker 11: neighbor's home for dinner for the first time, how would
- 48:27Speaker 11: you ask if there are any unlocked guns in the home.
- 48:29Speaker 13: Hey, Hey, we're so excited for tonight. Before we come over, though,
- 48:33Speaker 13: may ask if there are any unlocked guns in your home.
- 48:36Speaker 15: Our guns are stored securely locked in a safe that
- 48:39Speaker 15: the kids can't access.
- 48:41Speaker 2: Awesome.
- 48:42Speaker 11: Learn how to have the conversation at agree to Agree
- 48:44Speaker 11: dot org, brought to you by the Ad Council.
- 48:53Speaker 2: And now back to the sports John Wayne any.
- 48:58Speaker 26: Center cord on sports news gossip. Blah blah blah blah blah.
- 49:11Speaker 2: Yeah, jail baby, still not a flair, but you're still
- 49:17Speaker 2: a hater. What're my horns at? What my horse?
- 49:26Speaker 9: That's right?
- 49:35Speaker 8: Wait, back to this War Shock show. I'm this War
- 49:37Speaker 8: Shock wing Candy. Good morning to you out there, the
- 49:39Speaker 8: bad producer, Big Kenny, the funny man himself, command you
- 49:43Speaker 8: Greg in the building. We were talking about the World
- 49:45Speaker 8: Cup that has been wrapped up here in the U.
- 49:48Speaker 8: S A c U n FO years A halftime show
- 49:52Speaker 8: the first and uh they're gonna give a ring out
- 49:55Speaker 8: which will be the first. A lot of people doing
- 49:58Speaker 8: good business watching one of the greatest shows on Earth,
- 50:02Speaker 8: which is the Super Bowl, and modeling some of their
- 50:08Speaker 8: features is what FIFA seems like they are doing with
- 50:12Speaker 8: the World Cup this time. They took some steps towards
- 50:18Speaker 8: creating that, creating a halftime show. They're going to give
- 50:20Speaker 8: the players rings as well. I think they said they're
- 50:23Speaker 8: going to make about two thousand of them available for
- 50:27Speaker 8: the public to purchase. But when people are talking about
- 50:32Speaker 8: the halftime there was some people having an issue with
- 50:36Speaker 8: American sports. We were in America. Our tradition to start
- 50:40Speaker 8: a sporting event in our country is to sing the
- 50:43Speaker 8: national anthem. It doesn't matter what you're hosting, if it's
- 50:49Speaker 8: on American soil, that's how we start all of that
- 50:55Speaker 8: whole thing of why are they singing the national anthem
- 50:58Speaker 8: and America is not in Because it's in the American event,
- 51:03Speaker 8: it doesn't matter if we're in the final. It's our tradition.
- 51:07Speaker 8: If we go to another country and they this is
- 51:09Speaker 8: what they do, then that's what you have to adhere to.
- 51:14Speaker 8: Now when you halftime show, it was a reflection of
- 51:17Speaker 8: the world. Remember this is a world stage. It's different
- 51:22Speaker 8: than can you use alluding to bad Bunny was more
- 51:25Speaker 8: of in people's mind, and you're having something in a
- 51:30Speaker 8: that's an American vent, but you're in the moving. Yes,
- 51:35Speaker 8: you're putting an artist that your people's language is not
- 51:39Speaker 8: necessarily represented and on a world stage. Justin Biever born
- 51:45Speaker 8: in Canada, Madonna from the USA, BTS is.
- 51:50Speaker 2: From South Korea. Sekira is from Columbia, and I'm representing
- 51:56Speaker 2: the world and is a Afro.
- 52:02Speaker 8: Beat, but I'm saying give international, I'm reflecting the world.
- 52:09Speaker 8: The demographics, the demographics of how what tournament I'm putting on.
- 52:13Speaker 8: So to me, that's what they were trying to do.
- 52:16Speaker 8: That's what may have pulled them to have too many
- 52:19Speaker 8: artists because that's what you can get into that you're
- 52:23Speaker 8: trying to Now now you.
- 52:26Speaker 5: Say too many artists based on American Super Bowl sensibilities
- 52:30Speaker 5: or just the fact that they've never done.
- 52:31Speaker 8: This before, based on it was just almost like a
- 52:35Speaker 8: remix because in a sense, everybody just got one song
- 52:40Speaker 8: because I got to get this wrapped up in twenty
- 52:42Speaker 8: six minutes. So Madonna did basically one song, Shakira did
- 52:47Speaker 8: one song, The BTS group did one song, just one song, right,
- 52:53Speaker 8: and then they went out, Yeah, right, So it was
- 52:56Speaker 8: was you know, when you tell somebody, oh, we're having this,
- 52:59Speaker 8: they're expecting a.
- 53:00Speaker 2: Full right display talent. Yeah, of talent.
- 53:04Speaker 8: They're looking for the super Bowl because that as that
- 53:08Speaker 8: is what people is using as the benchmark.
- 53:11Speaker 2: And I've seen this with.
- 53:15Speaker 5: Experimental attractions in promotions. People have an event and they
- 53:21Speaker 5: want to insert something into the event. Sometimes you give
- 53:25Speaker 5: them too much, because I would rather see Bieber or
- 53:30Speaker 5: Madonna do three songs and Shakira do three songs, then
- 53:33Speaker 5: see all of those artists do one song apiece and
- 53:36Speaker 5: you're thinking in the moment, oh, they're gonna love this.
- 53:39Speaker 5: It'll be a lot of super star studied event. But
- 53:42Speaker 5: then there's wasted resources. We got all these people here
- 53:46Speaker 5: and they really didn't get a chance to show us
- 53:49Speaker 5: what they have.
- 53:50Speaker 17: What was the problem with I didn't hear it? What
- 53:52Speaker 17: was the problem with Jennifer Hudson and the national anthem
- 53:54Speaker 17: is still? I know when we normally and maybe they
- 53:59Speaker 17: didn't think about this and.
- 54:01Speaker 8: The US was not in the final I know what
- 54:03Speaker 8: they felt like the only national anthems that needed to
- 54:08Speaker 8: be played was Spain and Argentina. Okay, so they didn't
- 54:13Speaker 8: get they were removed from the understanding that American events
- 54:18Speaker 8: start and their national anthem. We don't have to be
- 54:23Speaker 8: it can be anything. We start the event. Why you
- 54:25Speaker 8: look like that, crig.
- 54:27Speaker 2: I feel like like the North America host the World
- 54:32Speaker 2: Cup in nineteen ninety four. I'm pretty sure if I
- 54:34Speaker 2: looked it up, looked up the final, which I think
- 54:37Speaker 2: was Italy and Brazil. It was played at the Rose Bowl.
- 54:43Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure they did the US national anthem.
- 54:46Speaker 8: And I was gonna say, yeah, but in ninety four,
- 54:48Speaker 8: people used to push their grocery carts back to the cart.
- 54:54Speaker 2: Collection area. People would hold the door for you.
- 55:00Speaker 5: I was gonna say, in ninety four, they used to
- 55:01Speaker 5: walk to the groceries to the car, Yes, ma'am, of.
- 55:05Speaker 8: Things like that, and I'm just giving you, like thirty
- 55:07Speaker 8: two years ago, there was a different ideology in our country.
- 55:12Speaker 8: I didn't hate you because you was a Republican, and
- 55:15Speaker 8: you didn't hate me because I was a Democrat.
- 55:17Speaker 2: That was just voting, that was voted. We hated you
- 55:23Speaker 2: on the day. It's a problem now.
- 55:26Speaker 5: It's a problem now because everybody feels like whatever they
- 55:32Speaker 5: are standing on is the most righteous.
- 55:36Speaker 8: That's really kind of how we work. So if you're
- 55:40Speaker 8: not eating and everything you need to.
- 55:42Speaker 2: Do were There were plenty of Americans who weren't had
- 55:46Speaker 2: no interest in the US team making some kind of
- 55:51Speaker 2: deep run either, like.
- 55:53Speaker 5: Oh, plenty of Americans that have no interest in anything.
- 55:58Speaker 5: They just like the and and there's no connection to
- 56:00Speaker 5: the country that they're rooting for. They have no connection
- 56:02Speaker 5: to anything. They just show up to point out what's
- 56:05Speaker 5: not good. And then they you go, well, what do
- 56:07Speaker 5: you want us to do? A nigga? Oh see, see
- 56:09Speaker 5: you know how you want to put the pressure on me,
- 56:11Speaker 5: but where you don't want to complains. We'll be back
- 56:14Speaker 5: more to Sports Jock Show right after this.
- 56:17Speaker 2: Yes, down baby, let you know from the gate, I
- 56:20Speaker 2: don't go down. I'm gonna check what.
- 56:24Speaker 10: She jn't go away or of the Sports Jock Show
- 56:29Speaker 10: with Wayne Gamby. Yes coming up next.

- 56:41Speaker 27: may be your turn to guide her.
- 56:43Speaker 14: Hey, I'm worried about Mom. She keeps forgetting her famous
- 56:46Speaker 14: sweet potato pie recipe.
- 56:48Speaker 2: Some things come with it, she says, and some don't.

- 57:09Speaker 14: to feel like I could protect myself. I hadn't thought
- 57:11Speaker 14: about the danger of an unlocked gun in my own
- 57:13Speaker 14: home too.
- 57:15Speaker 2: Me aware your napkins, not that drawer unless anyone.

- 57:43Speaker 21: what texting while driving is like. Your human brain only

- 58:42Speaker 25: I'm gonna go on the way you made Vegan Welcome
- 58:45Speaker 25: back to this spoy shock shower.
- 58:46Speaker 8: I'm this hoe shock Wayne Candy. Good morning to you
- 58:49Speaker 8: out there and listening land. We've been talking World Cup,
- 58:55Speaker 8: We've been talking Jerry Rice. We talked a little bit
- 58:59Speaker 8: about training camp. But there's no need to talk about football.
- 59:02Speaker 8: You can always just wait to get here because once
- 59:04Speaker 8: it's here, you know how it is. That's all it'll
- 59:08Speaker 8: be about for the next one. That's all it is.
- 59:11Speaker 8: It's just football shows from down to football show up.
- 59:15Speaker 8: We just throw those other sports in to just be like, yeah,
- 59:18Speaker 8: somebody won Major League Baseball Championship.
- 59:21Speaker 5: Yeah, somebody the World Series. Yeah, we used to call
- 59:27Speaker 5: that the World Series. Baseball champions just got to fit
- 59:31Speaker 5: it in so you can say bias about something, so
- 59:40Speaker 5: we're right there. Yeah, he'd be all, you'd be trying
- 59:44Speaker 5: to you be trying to go on. So we don't
- 59:47Speaker 5: like harp on the fact that he said. Now they
- 59:50Speaker 5: changed it for real.
- 59:53Speaker 8: But you know, the w n b A has suspended
- 59:57Speaker 8: Toronto Tempo coach for a game. She has already served
- 1:00:03Speaker 8: that suspension. Guys, A lot of her players came to
- 1:00:10Speaker 8: her defense. Sandy Brondello, She's won two w NBA championships
- 1:00:18Speaker 8: as a coach. She's one of the great players from Australia,
- 1:00:22Speaker 8: a Hall of Famer from over there. She made a
- 1:00:25Speaker 8: comment during a game where the Toronto Tempo, and yes
- 1:00:32Speaker 8: it's called the Toronto Tempo. They haven't been around a lot,
- 1:00:38Speaker 8: so no, you didn't miss it.
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: It's not on you.
- 1:00:42Speaker 8: But during a game with Atlanta Dreams, she made a
- 1:00:45Speaker 8: comment that was actually heard on video where someone the
- 1:00:53Speaker 8: referee excuse me, that not someone the referee called a file.
- 1:01:00Speaker 8: She felt like it was not a foul. She was
- 1:01:05Speaker 8: yelling at the rev telling her players, you know basically
- 1:01:09Speaker 8: how they protect species. Yeah, called Angelica protected species. That
- 1:01:20Speaker 8: is something that the WNBA decided to address quickly and
- 1:01:25Speaker 8: quietly to suspend her first I asked, you, guys, did
- 1:01:33Speaker 8: you know that protected species was a inflammatory term? And
- 1:01:44Speaker 8: after that, my second would be one of you guys
- 1:01:47Speaker 8: gonna ship me a copy of what the new words
- 1:01:51Speaker 8: should be that I should be.
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: That that book is written in pencil, the green book,
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: so you would have to the words change every day,
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: you'd have to erase some things out. It's well what
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: I what I keyed in too with this story was
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: that this coach is from Australia, yes, and hadn't been
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: in the United States. Well, she coaches in Canada now,
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: so she hadn't even come to United States as a coach.
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: She has been a long time coach in the state WNBA, oh,
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: the w NBA. Now she's in Kings. Then she won
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: a championship just three four years ago. The liberty Right,
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: So they're saying that because she's from.
- 1:02:39Speaker 5: Australia that they use that term for players who get
- 1:02:44Speaker 5: calls or who don't get penalized for fouls and penalties.
- 1:02:51Speaker 5: I was wondering if she's supposed to be made of
- 1:02:54Speaker 5: American sensibilities, But if she's been here so long, why
- 1:02:58Speaker 5: wouldn't she be aware of America. I didn't know, but
- 1:03:02Speaker 5: nobody answered my question when I just asked it. Though,
- 1:03:06Speaker 5: when did the protected species become inflammatory term? And when
- 1:03:14Speaker 5: we talk about protected species, we talk about animals, and
- 1:03:18Speaker 5: people consider it inflammatory when you're referring to a person
- 1:03:21Speaker 5: as a species, especially when it's a person of color.
- 1:03:25Speaker 5: Because no, no, I understand that. I'm talking about why
- 1:03:30Speaker 5: people became offended and the nuances in the words. Again, uh,
- 1:03:38Speaker 5: the people who are defending the coach say, because of
- 1:03:42Speaker 5: her sensibilities as an Australian person, she hadn't made those connections.
- 1:03:46Speaker 5: But as a person who plays in the w n
- 1:03:49Speaker 5: b A and has been familiar with American sports for
- 1:03:52Speaker 5: some time, you would imagine. But what I imagine may
- 1:03:55Speaker 5: be different from what she's actually living.
- 1:03:57Speaker 17: But what the person who's not a sports fanatic of
- 1:04:02Speaker 17: real sports fans, who hasn't been watching sports a long time.
- 1:04:05Speaker 17: That terminology is slang that's been in the sports world
- 1:04:08Speaker 17: for a while to protected species, as far as star
- 1:04:11Speaker 17: players that's been in It's a it's a slang. It's
- 1:04:14Speaker 17: a slang term in urban dictionary, and I'm a Urban
- 1:04:17Speaker 17: dictionary guy. But what I'm saying that is, no, I'm
- 1:04:22Speaker 17: not gonna stop saying no, No, I don't mean I
- 1:04:24Speaker 17: don't want to cross talk.
- 1:04:25Speaker 5: Okay, I want to ask a question. I want to
- 1:04:27Speaker 5: interject the question. You said two different things there. You said,
- 1:04:31Speaker 5: it's a known slang in sports, and then you said
- 1:04:35Speaker 5: urban and then you said in the urban dictionary. Urban
- 1:04:38Speaker 5: dictionary and known in sports are two separate different things.
- 1:04:41Speaker 5: The urban dictionary hadn't been around long enough to be
- 1:04:44Speaker 5: equated with something that's traditional in sports. Sports has been
- 1:04:48Speaker 5: around since the eighteen hundreds and.
- 1:04:50Speaker 2: Something like that.
- 1:04:51Speaker 17: So you're what I'm saying to protected species thing is new,
- 1:04:56Speaker 17: just as new as with the along with the urban dictionary.
- 1:04:58Speaker 17: When i'm protected species has been something that's been used
- 1:05:02Speaker 17: for years in sports. As for the player, the star players,
- 1:05:06Speaker 17: they're protected.
- 1:05:07Speaker 2: They played professional sports. Have you heard it?
- 1:05:12Speaker 8: No, I've never heard any of these. That's why y'all
- 1:05:16Speaker 8: think I'm coming here with some kind of joke. I'm
- 1:05:18Speaker 8: actually trying to figure out half the time what it
- 1:05:21Speaker 8: is that I was supposed to have heard. I'm trying
- 1:05:24Speaker 8: to figure out why we still in twenty twenty six,
- 1:05:27Speaker 8: are so triggered by words and that it actually moves
- 1:05:32Speaker 8: you to always need where that we empower words. I
- 1:05:36Speaker 8: thought that the whole idea I was raised on building brocks,
- 1:05:39Speaker 8: that words are just words and it's people's action. But
- 1:05:44Speaker 8: half the media that I have to report on has
- 1:05:46Speaker 8: something to do with some verbiage, and it has to
- 1:05:49Speaker 8: do with that everybody speaks and talks the same. And
- 1:05:53Speaker 8: as Greg said, y'all move the line of what is
- 1:05:56Speaker 8: supposed to be offensive.
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: Every day.
- 1:05:59Speaker 8: You just move and add something that, Okay, I didn't
- 1:06:02Speaker 8: know that, and then you're surprised when people are sitting
- 1:06:05Speaker 8: there like, oh sorry, and then it becomes oh, you
- 1:06:10Speaker 8: were supposed to know that. Oh you supposed to know this.
- 1:06:13Speaker 8: So when I read this story, and I don't even
- 1:06:16Speaker 8: like to be continued, but it's just all that y'all
- 1:06:19Speaker 8: be having to report on is that now that now
- 1:06:24Speaker 8: we know that, the next time somebody then they're trying
- 1:06:29Speaker 8: to be racial. I thought what the coach was saying
- 1:06:33Speaker 8: is basically that there's this list that there's players on
- 1:06:40Speaker 8: like the Angel Reesays, or the Breonna Stewarts, or the
- 1:06:43Speaker 8: Caitlyn Clark's or the Paige Becker's that have nothing to
- 1:06:47Speaker 8: do with color. They just happened to be on a
- 1:06:50Speaker 8: list that they get into Michael Jordan treatment. They're getting
- 1:06:55Speaker 8: to Steph Curry. If there is any fringe, they're gonna
- 1:07:00Speaker 8: side with the runner. They're gonna side with the player.
- 1:07:05Speaker 8: We hear it because it's that Angelisa. It makes me
- 1:07:08Speaker 8: think like her player said, uh, tim ay for banging.
- 1:07:13Speaker 8: I think it's how you say her name. She's saying, well,
- 1:07:16Speaker 8: if she used another girl like a Page Becker's and
- 1:07:20Speaker 8: said this would the would she have gotten suspended? And
- 1:07:24Speaker 8: oh she wouldn't now.
- 1:07:25Speaker 5: And my thing is, do you think the w NBA
- 1:07:28Speaker 5: has seen through all of the racial smoking mirrors by
- 1:07:32Speaker 5: only look y'all gonna scream do something? So we're giving
- 1:07:36Speaker 5: us suspension now is the one game suspension, So everybody cool,
- 1:07:40Speaker 5: go back to your corners and play ball. And can
- 1:07:43Speaker 5: I say, because we've seen greater overreactions, in my opinion,
- 1:07:48Speaker 5: two things like this where they want to fire a
- 1:07:51Speaker 5: coach or suspend them for half a season.
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: But this time, look, okay, she said something what what? Okay?
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: My bad?
- 1:08:00Speaker 5: One game girl? You could do that one game suspension
- 1:08:04Speaker 5: at halftime and come back.
- 1:08:07Speaker 8: So that's why I started the segment because I was
- 1:08:09Speaker 8: gonna make it a real quick because people out there
- 1:08:13Speaker 8: when I get comments and feedback back. They tell me that, well,
- 1:08:17Speaker 8: you bring racing to the show too much, and I
- 1:08:22Speaker 8: counter that that's all that I can't have privilege to
- 1:08:25Speaker 8: look up. The media sells negativity and it sells racism.
- 1:08:33Speaker 8: So when I come to do a show, I just
- 1:08:35Speaker 8: wanted to hit on this real quick. I didn't mean
- 1:08:38Speaker 8: the status long, so I was back to my original question.
- 1:08:42Speaker 8: I just wanted to yes or no or yes, and
- 1:08:45Speaker 8: I was going to move on. Did you know that
- 1:08:49Speaker 8: saying protected species was fell up under the.
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: N word?
- 1:08:58Speaker 8: Did you know it fell up under the other the
- 1:09:02Speaker 8: coon word or the gorilla word or whatever.
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: I didn't know that. I didn't.
- 1:09:09Speaker 8: I didn't know that I got words that that sh
- 1:09:12Speaker 8: had called her something kool aid or because I've heard
- 1:09:16Speaker 8: that of recent time, you can't. So there's certain terms
- 1:09:19Speaker 8: I know. I hadn't heard this one. So I was
- 1:09:22Speaker 8: asking my vast panel that lived different lives. Had you
- 1:09:26Speaker 8: heard this one?
- 1:09:28Speaker 13: No?
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: I hadn't. Yes, because of officiating.
- 1:09:32Speaker 8: No, so we would have just been using it, not
- 1:09:37Speaker 8: knowing that someone could actually take us get a suspension.
- 1:09:44Speaker 2: In a game.
- 1:09:45Speaker 8: I didn't know that, but they have and they suspended.
- 1:09:48Speaker 8: I guess that one game, suspension has happened, and we'll
- 1:09:54Speaker 8: wait on the next race driven story. It happened today.
- 1:10:03Speaker 8: It doesn't actually have to be racist. It can just
- 1:10:08Speaker 8: be on the fringe of pointing something or pointing something
- 1:10:12Speaker 8: out or making an observation. And I just thought of
- 1:10:16Speaker 8: something in this moment. As you know that in this
- 1:10:18Speaker 8: time of AI and algorithms, each and every time something
- 1:10:25Speaker 8: racial happens, it teaches the algorithm to promote those stories
- 1:10:32Speaker 8: because it gets so much traffic. So the more you
- 1:10:37Speaker 8: speak on it, the more you'll see it, the more
- 1:10:39Speaker 8: it happens, the more it'll manifest itself in front of you,
- 1:10:43Speaker 8: because that's what the.
- 1:10:46Speaker 5: Machine is trained to do. Now, give you more of
- 1:10:49Speaker 5: what you crave, and that's what we seem to crave now,
- 1:10:52Speaker 5: racial tension. So that's why we see it so much.
- 1:10:56Speaker 2: We'll be back. What's Jock showrun after this? Yeah?
- 1:11:00Speaker 5: Sup?
- 1:11:01Speaker 2: Based down the same boys on the wats up from
- 1:11:03Speaker 2: me now? Like Chandeliah end up be like vood.
- 1:11:10Speaker 10: Jo't bow away or of the Sports Josh Show with

- 1:13:56Speaker 8: tackle for the forty nine ers, Trent Williams thirty eight
- 1:14:00Speaker 8: years of age. The Hall of Famer, Leroy Butler LeRoi
- 1:14:04Speaker 8: is in the Hall of Fame, right, the Green Bay Packers.
- 1:14:06Speaker 2: I think he just got in, like.
- 1:14:09Speaker 8: Like a couple of years ago. Right, he's fifty eight.
- 1:14:11Speaker 8: Lamarca's Aldridge is forty one. Doctor Strange, Benedict Cumberbatch is
- 1:14:18Speaker 8: fifty The Great Teresa ed Words Great point Guard sixty
- 1:14:23Speaker 8: two years old. Latali Klitzko is fifty five. Cougie rap
- 1:14:30Speaker 8: is fifty eight. A Judy Greer is fifty one. Sondra
- 1:14:36Speaker 8: Oh from Gray's Anatomy she's and what was the other
- 1:14:39Speaker 8: show she's done?
- 1:14:40Speaker 2: Like Killing Eve?
- 1:14:41Speaker 8: Killing Eve is fifty five. Giselle Bunchin is forty six.
- 1:14:48Speaker 8: Betty a great actress. Betty Gilpen is forty. I haven't
- 1:14:52Speaker 8: seen Glow. No, okay, she's a great actress, is Betty Gilpin.
- 1:14:57Speaker 8: She's forty years old. CC Sabbathi Yeah, and Big Kenny.
- 1:15:01Speaker 8: When I said clock In, there is no Giselle bent Bunching.
- 1:15:06Speaker 8: So just so no, just you know, so we're gonna
- 1:15:10Speaker 8: move on to some new people. I've already know you
- 1:15:14Speaker 8: clocked in on that three years ago. We got to
- 1:15:16Speaker 8: get some fresh ideas. I'm roped around there. He sees
- 1:15:20Speaker 8: a bat the forty six. Ray Allen is fifty one.
- 1:15:25Speaker 8: Ben Simmons is thirty. When I saw being was thirty back,
- 1:15:29Speaker 8: I was thinking, man, I hope he makes a comeback.
- 1:15:32Speaker 2: He said he wants to come back. I hope he
- 1:15:35Speaker 2: makes a comeback.
- 1:15:36Speaker 8: I really would like him to come back, even if
- 1:15:40Speaker 8: it's just for a year or two, to kind of
- 1:15:42Speaker 8: in his career with a little more legitimacy. For the
- 1:15:49Speaker 8: first pick of a draft, it's been Simmons who's just
- 1:15:53Speaker 8: fell off in a big way. Carlos Santana seventy and nine,
- 1:15:59Speaker 8: Damien Marlin forty eight, Josh Heartnet forty eight as well,
- 1:16:05Speaker 8: the great Tamika Catching is forty seven from the La Sparks.
- 1:16:11Speaker 8: Ray Burrell the shooting guard for them, She's twenty six.
- 1:16:17Speaker 8: De Andre Jordan is thirty eight, the often sacked David Carr,
- 1:16:25Speaker 8: and David Carr is one person I just will not
- 1:16:28Speaker 8: let you put on the bus list. David Carr was
- 1:16:32Speaker 8: not a bust. He was under fire. Can't get sacked
- 1:16:39Speaker 8: that much and perform, just can't. I'm sorry, y'all, guys,
- 1:16:44Speaker 8: all you that's out there trying totsd oh, you can't
- 1:16:48Speaker 8: get sacked one hundred times a year in your first
- 1:16:52Speaker 8: three or four years and be like, man, you know
- 1:16:55Speaker 8: David got them happy feet.
- 1:16:57Speaker 2: I bet he do.
- 1:16:58Speaker 8: I bet he got all the happy feet in the
- 1:17:00Speaker 8: world ever. Playing his feet, he's gonna throw everything on
- 1:17:03Speaker 8: the move. It's just gonna be bounced, bounce and throw.
- 1:17:06Speaker 8: He just got sacked too much. That's the I mean,
- 1:17:10Speaker 8: this is not about you can't lead the league in
- 1:17:14Speaker 8: getting sacked high margin about it was like an extra
- 1:17:21Speaker 8: twenty five sacks beyond this number two guy and then
- 1:17:25Speaker 8: take a snap.
- 1:17:26Speaker 2: Then his brother got sacked a lot also times not
- 1:17:30Speaker 2: as much, not as much as much. Remember they had
- 1:17:33Speaker 2: just started them.
- 1:17:35Speaker 5: He was their first pick, the Houston first pick, the
- 1:17:37Speaker 5: first pick up a franchise. He was their first pick,
- 1:17:40Speaker 5: and the old line just did him savage. I can't
- 1:17:43Speaker 5: put him on the list where like, Okay, we're gonna
- 1:17:46Speaker 5: draft the quarterback and that's all we need to do.
- 1:17:49Speaker 5: What you gotta get an offense him and people like
- 1:17:53Speaker 5: I can't I don't put Greg Oldham Olden. The injuries
- 1:17:58Speaker 5: was just I don't know if he could play basketball.
- 1:18:01Speaker 2: I know one thing.
- 1:18:02Speaker 8: He was always icing his knee. He didn't have a
- 1:18:05Speaker 8: d and any man. The only man I know ice
- 1:18:07Speaker 8: his knee doing the game. You don't usually ice used
- 1:18:12Speaker 8: to go there and get your warm bath.
- 1:18:14Speaker 2: He got.
- 1:18:16Speaker 5: The ice bath. He's just swelling. Why he got his
- 1:18:20Speaker 5: shirt off, bro, he gotta go in for the second half.
- 1:18:24Speaker 5: What's wrong with him? Why you got you on the
- 1:18:26Speaker 5: massage table? He managing swelling doing the game.
- 1:18:30Speaker 2: That is crazy, Z.
- 1:18:32Speaker 8: But David Carr forty seven and Kellen Winslow the second okay,
- 1:18:39Speaker 8: not the daddy. Different is different. It's a different now
- 1:18:44Speaker 8: sometimes you can. You can get Ken Griffy and Ken
- 1:18:47Speaker 8: Griffy Junior confuted some time some time. But trust me,
- 1:18:55Speaker 8: Kellen Winslow wants to make sure you throw in.
- 1:18:59Speaker 2: That second. The your part. He's sitting there. Make sure
- 1:19:02Speaker 2: y'all junion, that's Junior. The other one's your son, though
- 1:19:06Speaker 2: I'm saying, but not me. I'm saying my son. I'm here.
- 1:19:12Speaker 5: He is forty three years old, still locked up as
- 1:19:17Speaker 5: far as I know. If you remember a couple of
- 1:19:19Speaker 5: years ago he went on ah what they said a
- 1:19:22Speaker 5: sexual assault spree yea, and he was basically willing to
- 1:19:27Speaker 5: sexual assault and whoever whenever.
- 1:19:30Speaker 2: However and to that point late night.
- 1:19:33Speaker 5: Yeah, up until that point, I mean I wasn't judging
- 1:19:36Speaker 5: up until because we've now been locked up for sexual
- 1:19:38Speaker 5: assault now. But we know we know done a little
- 1:19:43Speaker 5: time Kenny, some work, Yes, not to be confused with
- 1:19:46Speaker 5: Margaret Choe.
- 1:19:48Speaker 2: Sandra.
- 1:19:48Speaker 5: Oh okay, okay, little grays and that little grays a
- 1:19:52Speaker 5: out of me little killing even see what we could kill?
- 1:19:55Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying.
- 1:19:56Speaker 5: And if I do kill something, she just take me
- 1:19:58Speaker 5: right to the hospital. She got a gil sat you
- 1:20:00Speaker 5: see what I'm saying, sports shot. So we're gonna roll
- 1:20:03Speaker 5: with her w w E Saturday night at Madison Square Garden.
- 1:20:07Speaker 29: Uh.
- 1:20:07Speaker 8: And you have to love w w E because they're
- 1:20:09Speaker 8: gonna keep and plug into whatever they can to keep
- 1:20:13Speaker 8: success going. They had Jalen Bronson of the World Champion
- 1:20:17Speaker 8: Knicks and call Anthony Towns. Towns even got in the
- 1:20:20Speaker 8: ring and choke slammed a couple of people, threw one
- 1:20:24Speaker 8: guy through a table.
- 1:20:24Speaker 5: It's this, it is this, and this ain't against this.

- 1:21:39Speaker 22: to hear?
- 1:21:40Speaker 7: I feel sometimes that I'm not listening to.
- 1:21:42Speaker 15: I would just want you to listen to me more
- 1:21:44Speaker 15: often and evaluate situations with me and lead me towards success.
- 1:21:49Speaker 7: We're not adults, so just just be there and like, listen.
- 1:21:54Speaker 7: I just want someone to have to and I just
- 1:21:57Speaker 7: feel like I'll be fine. Like if someone just hears me,
- 1:22:00Speaker 7: I can talk and talk and talk and talk and
- 1:22:02Speaker 7: talk and talk.
- 1:22:03Speaker 29: You're doing a really good job.
- 1:22:05Speaker 2: And I don't think that's so.
- 1:22:06Speaker 29: I don't know, and I know sometimes we get into it.
- 1:22:10Speaker 29: It's just hard on both of us. But I'll try
- 1:22:14Speaker 29: to understand me more and I'll try to do the same.

- 1:22:39Speaker 20: I can even order lunch while doing my homework. But
- 1:22:42Speaker 20: I can't use my phone while driving. A distracted driver
- 1:22:46Speaker 20: is one of the leading causes of death in the
- 1:22:47Speaker 20: United States. So when it comes to driving. Please don't
- 1:22:50Speaker 20: be a multitasker.
- 1:22:52Speaker 2: Don't drive distracted.
- 1:22:53Speaker 24: A message brought to you by the National Highway Traffic

- 1:23:01Speaker 2: And now back to the sports Job, Wayne.
- 1:23:04Speaker 26: Gandy player's lounge have been given full access to the
- 1:23:12Speaker 26: players lounge on the Sports Jack Show with Wayne Gandy.
- 1:23:25Speaker 2: Don't want to be comes out of playoffs, crush Louders.
- 1:23:34Speaker 7: Looking for.
- 1:23:40Speaker 2: I'm playoffs crush bous look back to the show on
- 1:23:49Speaker 2: the Sports Shock Wayne Gandy.
- 1:23:51Speaker 8: College football, just like the NFL, just like high school
- 1:23:54Speaker 8: football is about to get back in action. And we're
- 1:23:57Speaker 8: talking about about three weeks from now, your son, daughter,
- 1:24:01Speaker 8: best friend, niece, somebody will be talking about they're headed
- 1:24:05Speaker 8: to a football game, especially here in Georgia. I think
- 1:24:09Speaker 8: like August fourteenth is opening week for high school, so
- 1:24:13Speaker 8: it is here.
- 1:24:15Speaker 2: It is here.
- 1:24:16Speaker 8: College kicks off, I want to say, maybe September fifth
- 1:24:20Speaker 8: or right in there, and the pros are like the
- 1:24:24Speaker 8: twelfth or something along those lines.
- 1:24:28Speaker 2: So age of week one or zero, there we go,
- 1:24:34Speaker 2: There we go week zero.
- 1:24:37Speaker 5: Let me guess week zero is August twentieth, yes, see
- 1:24:44Speaker 5: August twenty second, So that's Saturday. So we're talking about
- 1:24:49Speaker 5: a month away for college football, which will be Bill
- 1:24:54Speaker 5: Belichick's second year up at you n C. The great
- 1:24:58Speaker 5: Paul fine bamb who some kind of way became an
- 1:25:02Speaker 5: official Noddo of college football says, called Bill Belichick pathetic.
- 1:25:12Speaker 5: And when I saw that, said he should retire. What
- 1:25:18Speaker 5: simple size can you say that from?
- 1:25:22Speaker 8: With Bill Belichick, the winning its coach, arguably the greatest
- 1:25:31Speaker 8: NFL coach, decides to come to college he's only been
- 1:25:33Speaker 8: in the college level one year?
- 1:25:37Speaker 2: How does that?
- 1:25:38Speaker 8: How did you find the word pathetic? Did he at
- 1:25:41Speaker 8: the one year? It's not like he was even in college,
- 1:25:46Speaker 8: left went to the pros and came back like a
- 1:25:47Speaker 8: Steve Spury to where you can be like, oh, this
- 1:25:51Speaker 8: is where he left off, so he should know this
- 1:25:54Speaker 8: was his first time around.
- 1:25:55Speaker 5: If I have it right, as a yeah, he and
- 1:25:58Speaker 5: Paul Feinbaum didn't quite to fire this qualify his statement
- 1:26:02Speaker 5: any like, you know, because he didn't.
- 1:26:04Speaker 2: This is because just kind of just called him pathetic,
- 1:26:07Speaker 2: said he should retire, he's too old for the game.
- 1:26:09Speaker 2: See see.
- 1:26:10Speaker 5: And I think a lot of that personally, I think
- 1:26:13Speaker 5: a lot of that comes from his personal life. Pile
- 1:26:16Speaker 5: fine bomb looking at him running around with that young girl,
- 1:26:19Speaker 5: and he got in his feelings about it, and you
- 1:26:21Speaker 5: lose a game, and now he wants to see.
- 1:26:23Speaker 2: That's why you don't have the eye of a tiger.
- 1:26:27Speaker 5: Hell, but I got the eye of a couple more things.
- 1:26:29Speaker 5: You see what I'm saying, and Paul just in his feelings.
- 1:26:33Speaker 5: Let it go, Paul, let the man coach another That's
- 1:26:36Speaker 5: give him. Hell, I don't know, Let's go wild and
- 1:26:39Speaker 5: crazy with another five games. Let's go five games. Let's
- 1:26:43Speaker 5: see what he do. Let's give him another season.
- 1:26:46Speaker 20: Paul.
- 1:26:46Speaker 2: Now we're talking about Saint.
- 1:26:48Speaker 5: Bill Belichick won more NFL Super Bowl rings as a
- 1:26:52Speaker 5: coach than any other coach.
- 1:26:54Speaker 13: Am.
- 1:26:54Speaker 5: I correct, yes, yes, that Bill Belichick. Then he turned
- 1:26:57Speaker 5: a rad over him eight eight, not Bill Belichick's eight.
- 1:27:02Speaker 5: And then he turned around and retired it and said,
- 1:27:04Speaker 5: you know what, I want to come back, But before
- 1:27:06Speaker 5: I come back, I want to go get me a
- 1:27:08Speaker 5: young girl and run the world with her for a
- 1:27:10Speaker 5: little while and tie her out. Then when she can't
- 1:27:14Speaker 5: keep up no more, I'm gonna go there someplace they
- 1:27:16Speaker 5: never expect me to go, because everybody thought I'd gonna
- 1:27:18Speaker 5: know the Dame. Everybody thought I'd go to Alabama, but
- 1:27:21Speaker 5: no where did I go North Carolina? And now Paul
- 1:27:25Speaker 5: firing bomb man and he still go to sleep at
- 1:27:28Speaker 5: seven thirty.
- 1:27:29Speaker 2: As a North Carolina in what do you call yourself?
- 1:27:33Speaker 2: Tar Hill?
- 1:27:34Speaker 8: Tar Hills, Can you just write pathetic beside Bill Belichick
- 1:27:40Speaker 8: in one season?
- 1:27:41Speaker 17: No, I don't know what's going on with Paul fine
- 1:27:44Speaker 17: Bon because he's made a lot of statements over the
- 1:27:46Speaker 17: last couple of weeks.
- 1:27:48Speaker 2: This, dude, what are you about Bill Beliback? Just football period?
- 1:27:54Speaker 2: I mean from Dabo Swingey to.
- 1:27:58Speaker 17: Just talking about it in general about Texas if they
- 1:28:00Speaker 17: don't win, just he but this thing to go after
- 1:28:03Speaker 17: Bill Belichick.
- 1:28:04Speaker 2: I'm with you, Kenny.
- 1:28:05Speaker 17: I think you start to look, say, man, you guys
- 1:28:08Speaker 17: jealous of Belichick or something or or why this man.
- 1:28:12Speaker 5: Is a winner? Because that seems he's a winner. I
- 1:28:14Speaker 5: can understand if he hasn't. I think he had pathetic.
- 1:28:16Speaker 2: Seems like a lot of people had unrealistic expectations for
- 1:28:21Speaker 2: for Belichick, like North Carolina's gonna win a national champion,
- 1:28:24Speaker 2: but he has to go in. But he has to
- 1:28:26Speaker 2: go in and learn exactly And that's exactly even to
- 1:28:30Speaker 2: go and learn he had to like, even my unrealistic
- 1:28:33Speaker 2: expectations wouldn't make me pathetic after one ceased? No to
- 1:28:38Speaker 2: see it for to say that he does not recognize
- 1:28:42Speaker 2: how unrealistic his expectations were of Belichick. Disappointed by those
- 1:28:48Speaker 2: unrealistic expects, Belichick was, for a what was the team
- 1:28:52Speaker 2: the year before? What did he inherit? What was the record?
- 1:28:56Speaker 2: They wasn't Were they like ten and two of the
- 1:28:57Speaker 2: year before?
- 1:28:58Speaker 27: No?
- 1:28:59Speaker 2: No, no, no, they may win the champion. They didn't
- 1:29:02Speaker 2: make a bowl? Oh they didn't make the bowl. Yeah,
- 1:29:05Speaker 2: he wins.
- 1:29:06Speaker 17: So it's not like the best thing out of North
- 1:29:08Speaker 17: Carolina before in the last couple of years has been.
- 1:29:13Speaker 2: Jock the other Downs.
- 1:29:14Speaker 17: Kid who he was not Caleb Josh he plays, Yeah,
- 1:29:19Speaker 17: he was the you know, the best thing that been
- 1:29:22Speaker 17: on that now squad and Martin the may kid from
- 1:29:25Speaker 17: in New England.
- 1:29:26Speaker 2: I mean other than that, I mean Carolina football has been.
- 1:29:30Speaker 5: That that and and with that established reality, why won't
- 1:29:34Speaker 5: anyone come to Bill Belichick's defense besides us? How come
- 1:29:38Speaker 5: no one on uh the panel? Where the Paul Fine Bomb.
- 1:29:44Speaker 5: I think Paul Bomb is willing to say boys stop.
- 1:29:48Speaker 8: I think if Bill Belichick, as Greg was talking about
- 1:29:53Speaker 8: nineteen ninety four, it was more of you take a
- 1:29:58Speaker 8: Belichick and you would celebrate coaches winning back in those
- 1:30:03Speaker 8: days got more celebration. The big tuna is Tom Landry,
- 1:30:07Speaker 8: You're winning. Proceeded six. Now the business of our job
- 1:30:15Speaker 8: as media is to stoke fires, is to get down,
- 1:30:20Speaker 8: and we're not enjoying the warmth. We're trying to get
- 1:30:24Speaker 8: the black smoke out of it. Throw some tires on.
- 1:30:26Speaker 8: It may get set up in the air. And Bill
- 1:30:30Speaker 8: Belichick and the unapologetic athlete is always turned into a villain.
- 1:30:41Speaker 8: The Barry Bonds is the Tom Brady, those people that
- 1:30:47Speaker 8: manage how much access that you're going to have to
- 1:30:51Speaker 8: my life like a Bill Belichick. I'm not coming in
- 1:30:56Speaker 8: here to tap dance for you at the pressor I
- 1:31:02Speaker 8: might answer two or three questions if I you know
- 1:31:04Speaker 8: how Bill Belichick was. You asked a question, he just
- 1:31:07Speaker 8: gives you a look, that's a stupid question, and move on,
- 1:31:10Speaker 8: like you shouldn't even ask me that and move on.
- 1:31:12Speaker 8: He was like a great Popovich. You know, might say
- 1:31:16Speaker 8: that since Papa has gotten sick, people sell him as this,
- 1:31:22Speaker 8: you know, this lovable figure but before that, Papovich Fasula
- 1:31:27Speaker 8: is this kind of calculating and past master would.
- 1:31:32Speaker 5: Sick might say that that was a really stupid question, unintelligent.
- 1:31:39Speaker 2: He might try to clean up that was unintelligent question.
- 1:31:42Speaker 8: And so I think that's what Bill in the media
- 1:31:46Speaker 8: world think about it. We just discussed one more Super
- 1:31:51Speaker 8: Bowl by a margin, literally almost twice as many super
- 1:31:58Speaker 8: Bowls as the next the sky who's number two and
- 1:32:04Speaker 8: wasn't a first ballot Hall of Famer right right now?
- 1:32:07Speaker 8: That don't tell you something.
- 1:32:08Speaker 5: And for me to come forward and for me to
- 1:32:11Speaker 5: come forward on a show where you're bashing him and go,
- 1:32:13Speaker 5: hey man, that's not fair, but deplete my opportunity to
- 1:32:16Speaker 5: do it to Lamar Jackson later.
- 1:32:19Speaker 8: If if Bill Belich, if this was the NFL, Bill
- 1:32:25Speaker 8: Belichick would take them to court for collusion.
- 1:32:29Speaker 2: That's how the media is handling him. They all in
- 1:32:34Speaker 2: on it for Bill Belichick to miss the Hall of Fame.
- 1:32:41Speaker 2: They all in on it. They got to be.
- 1:32:44Speaker 5: And sometimes it seems like people are now judging you
- 1:32:47Speaker 5: more by your you're off the field, like it's not
- 1:32:54Speaker 5: predicated on his football.
- 1:32:56Speaker 2: And you know, what's the man super Bowl Chuck Nold.
- 1:33:01Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, excuse me, I didn't see for I was
- 1:33:07Speaker 5: thinking about the guy San Francisco, but only Bill Walsh
- 1:33:09Speaker 5: has three three wash it's washed, Okay, yeah, I thought
- 1:33:12Speaker 5: it was.
- 1:33:14Speaker 29: Four.
- 1:33:16Speaker 8: Walsh has three. Seafort has one that you're thinking of,
- 1:33:21Speaker 8: And that's why I stopped when I thought about it.
- 1:33:24Speaker 8: George was the head coach when they won that last one,
- 1:33:28Speaker 8: so I think I could have just started the segment there.
- 1:33:33Speaker 8: A man that has eight Super Bowls was not first ballot.
- 1:33:37Speaker 8: If I was Belichick, I wouldn't even let him put
- 1:33:39Speaker 8: me in it.
- 1:33:42Speaker 2: Mm hmm hmm.
- 1:33:43Speaker 5: It's insulting. I wouldn't even when I You couldn't even
- 1:33:47Speaker 5: use my name, you couldn't even add We'll just act
- 1:33:50Speaker 5: like I didn't because that's how you treated.
- 1:33:51Speaker 2: Me like I didn't. This is not subjective. This is
- 1:33:54Speaker 2: not thea. This guy was a first ballot with four?
- 1:33:59Speaker 2: What am I with eight? Right? And and that's.
- 1:34:08Speaker 8: I think that's this law in all of this isn't
- 1:34:10Speaker 8: eight seven or you know right in there. This is
- 1:34:13Speaker 8: literally he went first ballot with four. I brought you eight,
- 1:34:19Speaker 8: and I could have been with and coach with still six.
- 1:34:25Speaker 8: I'm saying you could have been still got in with
- 1:34:28Speaker 8: them numbers. Yeah, that's that's one thing with Finebaud back then. Well,
- 1:34:34Speaker 8: you know you want to do what far you want
- 1:34:36Speaker 8: to criticize him because you don't like five Paul fin
- 1:34:39Speaker 8: No I done. I didn't like him, But I'm.
- 1:34:40Speaker 2: Just I know you don't like him doing a personal level.
- 1:34:45Speaker 2: I just understand the man. It's a Tennessee graduate and
- 1:34:47Speaker 2: the Tennessee guy. But he.
- 1:34:51Speaker 17: All these years Alabama is Alabama, that and everybody else
- 1:34:54Speaker 17: or the villains. I never could understand a lot of
- 1:34:58Speaker 17: his thought, sess.
- 1:35:00Speaker 2: And now he's from Alabama. He's from Memphis, Tennessee.
- 1:35:05Speaker 17: I thought he started his career. Well, no, he's from Memphis.
- 1:35:08Speaker 17: He went to University of Tennessee. That's why I always
- 1:35:10Speaker 17: thought that.
- 1:35:11Speaker 5: And he didn't start covering Alabama. I don't know who
- 1:35:13Speaker 5: he started covering. I just know where he's from. And
- 1:35:16Speaker 5: he went to Tennessee, and I just I'm from Florida,
- 1:35:20Speaker 5: but I know very little about it. Oh man, I
- 1:35:25Speaker 5: haven't lived there in thirty seven years. I give up dat, sister.
- 1:35:32Speaker 5: I don't need to be a baby, not even interested.

- 1:35:38Speaker 5: need to worry about the taxes around here. We'll be

- 1:38:49Speaker 8: explain nothing to North Carolina. They're talking about Illinois.
- 1:38:53Speaker 17: The delegates of North Carolina, understand, don't speak. The delegates
- 1:38:57Speaker 17: of North Carolina don't speak. Please, So I mean hello
- 1:39:00Speaker 17: to Mason Dixon.
- 1:39:01Speaker 8: Don't reg last. I'm sorry the youngest. But we're going
- 1:39:07Speaker 8: to start in Illinois. I gave you five names, and
- 1:39:09Speaker 8: this is Sports Illustrated's list of the five greatest athletes
- 1:39:13Speaker 8: all time in their rating of Illinois, the whole state,
- 1:39:20Speaker 8: Jackie joining Kersey, the Buckers, d Wade, that's Dwayne Wade,
- 1:39:26Speaker 8: Handie Parker, and the Olympic speed skier skater excuse me,
- 1:39:34Speaker 8: skater Bunny Blair.
- 1:39:36Speaker 2: Bunny Blair.
- 1:39:37Speaker 8: Yes, And I asked you a name, if you had one,
- 1:39:42Speaker 8: because these could have been your five that you could
- 1:39:44Speaker 8: think of. But if there was a name for you
- 1:39:48Speaker 8: that you would at least have the next if not
- 1:39:53Speaker 8: on the list, that one name of who could have
- 1:39:57Speaker 8: been in your mind from you knowing Illinois sports, Illinois sports. Yeah,
- 1:40:03Speaker 8: who would that name be?
- 1:40:04Speaker 2: Isaiah Thomas without even thinking, without researching, without wondering, without thinking,
- 1:40:11Speaker 2: who is from? What are great athletes?
- 1:40:13Speaker 5: I know how the hell you got d Wade on
- 1:40:17Speaker 5: him because he married the gabre Union, But you done
- 1:40:21Speaker 5: took Zeke the freak off.
- 1:40:23Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:40:24Speaker 7: Now, I.
- 1:40:27Speaker 5: Know I ain't involved in putting the list together, but
- 1:40:30Speaker 5: if I could have one umbrage with how it was comprised,
- 1:40:34Speaker 5: or that would be out of the five names, Dwayne Wade,
- 1:40:38Speaker 5: you would take d Wade off off.
- 1:40:40Speaker 8: I don't know if you could remember the names. I'll
- 1:40:42Speaker 8: read him to you. Command you, Greg, he says Isaiah Thomas.
- 1:40:46Speaker 8: If you agree with him, I'll give you the five names.
- 1:40:50Speaker 8: You tell me the one you would have replaced with Isaiah,
- 1:40:54Speaker 8: Zeke Thomas, Jackie Joinning, Cursey, Dick Buckers, Dwayne Wade, Candace Parker,
- 1:41:04Speaker 8: Bunny Blair. Uh, there's no right or wrong, it's just
- 1:41:10Speaker 8: who would you if you is a right wrong? Sure
- 1:41:13Speaker 8: there is a right or wrong.
- 1:41:14Speaker 2: Don't don't don't you go to put Isaiah Thomas in there?
- 1:41:19Speaker 2: I would replace Uh. I would replace Candace Parker. What okay, okay,
- 1:41:26Speaker 2: what bad producer.
- 1:41:27Speaker 8: If you had this list and we were using Isaiah
- 1:41:30Speaker 8: Zeke Thomas, the point guard from the Bad Boys, Zeke Zeke,
- 1:41:35Speaker 8: the big booty freak, and you had this list in
- 1:41:37Speaker 8: front of you with Jackie Joiner, Cursey, Dick Fucker's, d Wade,
- 1:41:41Speaker 8: Candace Parker, Bunny Blair.
- 1:41:45Speaker 17: I would take off. It's tough, but I would take h.
- 1:41:52Speaker 17: D Wade off and put Zeke there.
- 1:41:56Speaker 8: So we got two replacements of d Wade, one replacement
- 1:42:00Speaker 8: of Candace Parker. I think you made a great case
- 1:42:06Speaker 8: that Isaiah belongs on this list. Didn't know that Isaiah
- 1:42:11Speaker 8: was from Illinois. Thank you for that information.
- 1:42:15Speaker 5: First that Southside, but he went to private school because
- 1:42:20Speaker 5: he really wasn't you know, they had to get him
- 1:42:22Speaker 5: off the south Side.
- 1:42:23Speaker 8: So if I was replacing for this list Jackie Joiner, Cursey,
- 1:42:28Speaker 8: Dick Bucker's, Dwayne Wade, Candace Parker, Bonnie Blair, I'm in
- 1:42:35Speaker 8: agreeance with Commandchie Gregg. I would take Candace Parker off
- 1:42:42Speaker 8: off of my list.
- 1:42:45Speaker 2: And put Isaiah Thomas in. So two and two we
- 1:42:54Speaker 2: came today fifty.
- 1:42:57Speaker 8: But one thing that we all did agree on I
- 1:43:00Speaker 8: think is that Isaiah should be in the top had Yes.
- 1:43:05Speaker 5: Okay, So now, and the reason I left Kennis Parker
- 1:43:08Speaker 5: on that well is because of her being in the
- 1:43:15Speaker 5: w n b A and not the NBA. Dwayne Wade
- 1:43:19Speaker 5: and Zeke both in the NBA, and because of probably
- 1:43:24Speaker 5: a tenure uh seniority I and the era I placed
- 1:43:31Speaker 5: Isaiah plus I followed him.
- 1:43:33Speaker 8: Well, I remember when uh he was. Zeke was not
- 1:43:37Speaker 8: a better player than d Wade from the sports job.
- 1:43:42Speaker 5: From well, I'm saying he didn't win as many championships.
- 1:43:45Speaker 5: There were nuances, but from the era that he played in,
- 1:43:51Speaker 5: no duwaye Wayne Gote Wade has three yes, three, I.
- 1:43:55Speaker 2: Thought, uh that can be.
- 1:43:57Speaker 5: No, I'm saying I can say them as equal, as
- 1:44:01Speaker 5: good as impactful, Okay, but.
- 1:44:03Speaker 8: I can't tell you that Zeke was a better player.
- 1:44:06Speaker 8: I believe that both of them had better careers than
- 1:44:09Speaker 8: Kandace Parker. Yes, that's definitely. Can I ask this question?
- 1:44:14Speaker 8: And most of that was Candace struggled with injury a
- 1:44:18Speaker 8: lot of her career. She kept back and you know,
- 1:44:20Speaker 8: so it kept her you know, she couldn't like consistently
- 1:44:26Speaker 8: be as dominant. She deserves all the accolades that she has,
- 1:44:30Speaker 8: and she rightfully sold and one of the great players
- 1:44:32Speaker 8: that if I was going to watch a game, I
- 1:44:34Speaker 8: wonder what I love watching Canda's play, but her injury
- 1:44:37Speaker 8: slowed her yes down significant.
- 1:44:41Speaker 17: Kenny stated that, like he said, he wasn't on the committee.
- 1:44:44Speaker 17: Want to know what compromised, how they came with this
- 1:44:46Speaker 17: and where I'm looking at what the Chicago is. I
- 1:44:49Speaker 17: think also if you say athlete, are they also looking
- 1:44:53Speaker 17: for you there? They're looking at your high school career
- 1:44:55Speaker 17: also if you because what you did high school in
- 1:44:58Speaker 17: the state and then on profession because if you, uh,
- 1:45:01Speaker 17: if you look at there, the list could be you
- 1:45:04Speaker 17: could have somebody.
- 1:45:05Speaker 2: Looking at at everything everything and as long as as
- 1:45:09Speaker 2: because some some some of them, I've seen the list.
- 1:45:13Speaker 2: Some they were born in another state, but it's mainly
- 1:45:16Speaker 2: where they came to prominence, whether it was in high school.
- 1:45:19Speaker 2: I thought, well, if you say that person, I thought
- 1:45:21Speaker 2: it was like if you was born and raised like
- 1:45:22Speaker 2: he came in. I mean that's the case with a
- 1:45:24Speaker 2: lot of them that were listed. But like for example,
- 1:45:28Speaker 2: I know we'll get to North Carolina at some point,
- 1:45:31Speaker 2: but Steph Curry is listed for North Carolina.
- 1:45:33Speaker 5: He was born in Ohio. Michael Jordan born in Brooklyn,
- 1:45:36Speaker 5: New York. Yeah, but he's listed under North Carolina. So
- 1:45:39Speaker 5: it's wherever they came to prominence. I would go by
- 1:45:42Speaker 5: wherever they went to high school. That's where they came up.
- 1:45:46Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, I think, And they both went to high
- 1:45:49Speaker 8: school there. So I think when you start doing it
- 1:45:51Speaker 8: like you're doing it now, you're getting way.
- 1:45:54Speaker 27: No.
- 1:45:55Speaker 17: Only reason I asked because when Kenny made his statement,
- 1:45:57Speaker 17: he said he's not on the list.
- 1:45:59Speaker 2: What compile the list? And thinking of a Cannons.
- 1:46:02Speaker 17: The only reason I didn't want to take a Cannon's
- 1:46:03Speaker 17: Park off because she was excellent in the Illinois as
- 1:46:06Speaker 17: a high school athlete also, so that's the.
- 1:46:09Speaker 2: Only reason I didn't want to remove her.
- 1:46:12Speaker 5: And Bonnie Blair is on the list, and she's originally
- 1:46:15Speaker 5: from Cornwall, New York, so it's.
- 1:46:22Speaker 2: But moved to Champagne when she was a toddler. Yeah.
- 1:46:24Speaker 2: So that's what I'm saying. If you went to high
- 1:46:26Speaker 2: school there, you you That's what I'm saying.
- 1:46:29Speaker 5: By the time you get to high school, you've lived
- 1:46:32Speaker 5: a significant amount of your life somewhere else. In my opinion,
- 1:46:36Speaker 5: and you're one to And I love you man, because
- 1:46:38Speaker 5: you're you're one of those real state based people. Because
- 1:46:43Speaker 5: I've always been amazed when you be coming in here
- 1:46:45Speaker 5: and ask me questions about Florida like I keep up with.
- 1:46:52Speaker 2: I have no clue about what's going on right up.
- 1:47:01Speaker 4: About all that scene who were mazed Back to everything
- 1:47:05Speaker 4: else in between, including the sentences of the press.
- 1:47:08Speaker 2: We don't do the bestess.

- 1:48:21Speaker 6: talk about something exciting, life insurance. Three quarters of Americans
- 1:48:24Speaker 6: believe that coverage represents a critical piece of financial security,
- 1:48:28Speaker 6: yet only forty nine percent actually have life insurance.
- 1:48:31Speaker 16: When I was twenty five, me and my wife were
- 1:48:33Speaker 16: just getting started with our family and thought we lived forever.
- 1:48:35Speaker 2: Life insurance. What's the last thing on my mind? What
- 1:48:38Speaker 2: about you? Will you be leaving benefits or bills?
- 1:48:41Speaker 16: When I was forty, with a kid in college and
- 1:48:43Speaker 16: bills piling up, I was worried how my family will
- 1:48:45Speaker 16: survived without me. That's what I'm in an appointment with
- 1:48:47Speaker 16: the insurance informant.
- 1:48:48Speaker 6: Information gives you power, and life insurance gives your family
- 1:48:51Speaker 6: security no matter what stage of life you're in.
- 1:48:53Speaker 2: Now that I'm molder. I don't worry about whether I'll
- 1:48:56Speaker 2: leave my family with bills or benefits.
- 1:48:58Speaker 6: The answer is easy, whether you're twenty five, five or fifty,
- 1:49:00Speaker 6: whether you earn a little or a lot, all you
- 1:49:02Speaker 6: need is the insurance informant to help you build a
- 1:49:05Speaker 6: foundation of security, because without you, your family will have
- 1:49:08Speaker 6: two options, benefits or bills. Which legacy will you leave behind?
- 1:49:13Speaker 6: Log on today benefits or bills dot com. That's benefits
- 1:49:17Speaker 6: or bills dot com.
- 1:49:21Speaker 2: And now back to the Sports Job Wayne Gandy. Now
- 1:49:27Speaker 2: it's time for the school board where we put a
- 1:49:30Speaker 2: spin on life.
- 1:49:31Speaker 26: And sports and how they intermingle on the Sports Jack
- 1:49:36Speaker 26: Show with Wayne Gandy.
- 1:49:46Speaker 14: That my gosh good.
- 1:49:55Speaker 2: Welco back to the Sports Shock Show.
- 1:49:56Speaker 8: I'm the Sports Shock Wayne Candy, US boxer hand he wrapped,
- 1:50:01Speaker 8: was struck and killed by a driver while cycling. What
- 1:50:06Speaker 8: I don't understanding, Maybe it will change. Investigators arrested thirty
- 1:50:10Speaker 8: one year old man identified as Charles Medina in connection
- 1:50:15Speaker 8: with the depth of rap who's only twenty six years old.
- 1:50:18Speaker 8: At least from what I'm reading, I'm not understanding the
- 1:50:21Speaker 8: charge of just manslaughter. I'm gonna let this story air out,
- 1:50:26Speaker 8: maybe these charges will change. But the story reads that
- 1:50:32Speaker 8: a rap was cycling and riding and a car passed her,
- 1:50:37Speaker 8: and the car that Charles Medina was driving, for some reason,
- 1:50:44Speaker 8: it doesn't really fill us in on that part stopped,
- 1:50:49Speaker 8: put his car in reverse, and drove back into Medina.
- 1:50:58Speaker 8: So I'm not understanding why this is and second degree
- 1:51:02Speaker 8: murder at least, so maybe the change articular homicide or definitely.
- 1:51:10Speaker 8: I mean, you're this isn't an accident, this isn't a
- 1:51:14Speaker 8: This is sounds like it was intentional and you made
- 1:51:20Speaker 8: an effort to hit this young lady. So we will
- 1:51:26Speaker 8: see how that works out. I just didn't understand the charge,
- 1:51:30Speaker 8: as Greg said, vehicular homicide, second degree murder. I don't
- 1:51:36Speaker 8: know how it fell down. The manslaughter when you put
- 1:51:39Speaker 8: the car in reverse and hit me with intent. Now
- 1:51:43Speaker 8: you could sit there and so oh I just meant
- 1:51:45Speaker 8: to hit you. I did intend for you to die.
- 1:51:47Speaker 8: But that doesn't take away you saying you did me
- 1:51:52Speaker 8: and hit me.
- 1:51:52Speaker 5: Well, I'm saying and I intended to hit you. It
- 1:51:58Speaker 5: is enough for whatever results after you see what I'm saying,
- 1:52:02Speaker 5: I tried to hit you. So if I hit you
- 1:52:05Speaker 5: and knocked the world off its axis. Then now you're
- 1:52:09Speaker 5: guilty of some sort of intergalactic crime. I would imagine,
- 1:52:12Speaker 5: because without for the first at the second wouldn't have happened.
- 1:52:17Speaker 2: So I'm with you, sports jock, I'm not getting manslaughter.
- 1:52:21Speaker 5: What is what is?
- 1:52:23Speaker 2: You know?
- 1:52:23Speaker 5: Manslaughter? Is I tried to pass you and you went
- 1:52:30Speaker 5: to flip me off and I hit your hand or something.
- 1:52:32Speaker 5: You know, But we had already argued. I don't get
- 1:52:35Speaker 5: some of this stuff.
- 1:52:36Speaker 8: Now, Major League Baseball says it's going to restrict using
- 1:52:40Speaker 8: a dugout iPads for AI assisted in game strategy. When
- 1:52:47Speaker 8: would I have ever let you be using AI for strategy? Like,
- 1:52:54Speaker 8: what do you mean restrict?
- 1:52:55Speaker 2: Wait? Nine, I mean strategy in the dugout? You you
- 1:53:00Speaker 2: didn't just put us up on game because I didn't know.
- 1:53:04Speaker 2: You see them use it for like the batters use
- 1:53:07Speaker 2: it like well they want to see like what pitch
- 1:53:10Speaker 2: was thrown or so you was in on this cove
- 1:53:13Speaker 2: seen it. I just saying I've seen it. I seen it.
- 1:53:15Speaker 2: You've seen that. I seen it. You've seen it because
- 1:53:18Speaker 2: I used with football doing in between the office. Well
- 1:53:22Speaker 2: not well, they officially used they used the iPad surface
- 1:53:26Speaker 2: books surface book to see the play instead of the
- 1:53:30Speaker 2: pictures were used to give hers. They used to have
- 1:53:32Speaker 2: somebody run off. What's the base off? Well, I don't
- 1:53:35Speaker 2: know where the AI.
- 1:53:36Speaker 17: Well, that's that's what I'm saying. That's why I'm wondering investigations.
- 1:53:40Speaker 5: I thought they see like the pitch and that might
- 1:53:43Speaker 5: have the for the strike zone, the probability of when
- 1:53:46Speaker 5: he's going to throw that pitch again, and that what
- 1:53:49Speaker 5: AI would be telling me.
- 1:53:51Speaker 2: Wasn't that moneyball? Though? Yeah, wouldn't they have like analytics guys?
- 1:53:54Speaker 8: But I'm saying I didn't know this was in the
- 1:53:56Speaker 8: lock and anyway, I thought you were supposed to be
- 1:53:59Speaker 8: as the maner having to do yourself.
- 1:54:04Speaker 2: You have somebody sitting there.
- 1:54:06Speaker 17: He's charting pitches, okay, occur every two pitches don't change up,
- 1:54:13Speaker 17: so you're.
- 1:54:13Speaker 5: Normally supposed to have a like I said, someone physically
- 1:54:17Speaker 5: counting those pitches. U g A had Six football players
- 1:54:20Speaker 5: are just signed n I l deals with Nike. Uh,
- 1:54:23Speaker 5: that's a cover up by Nike. They're trying to just
- 1:54:26Speaker 5: offer a couple of everywhere else and then they're going
- 1:54:29Speaker 5: to offer it to all hundred players at Oregon. I'm
- 1:54:32Speaker 5: just trying to tell you they're just trying to make
- 1:54:33Speaker 5: sure they give enough out so that you don't call it.
- 1:54:40Speaker 8: Collusion or whatever word you're gonna put where they just
- 1:54:44Speaker 8: give all the scholarships, all this too, organ players, because
- 1:54:48Speaker 8: you know that's what happened, right, because if they don't
- 1:54:51Speaker 8: give a little bit out, they were my man.
- 1:54:54Speaker 5: Graduated from If my man graduated from there, they went
- 1:54:58Speaker 5: there in the.
- 1:54:59Speaker 2: Front, that's a lot of people go they've been steered
- 1:55:03Speaker 2: the same. They're supposed to sign a Nike deal. Mayfield
- 1:55:10Speaker 2: Nike School. You had to. You have to if you said,
- 1:55:14Speaker 2: you see it, gotta go to a school that they
- 1:55:16Speaker 2: wear Adidas. He's he's gonna wear Adidas for the rest
- 1:55:19Speaker 2: of his career.
- 1:55:20Speaker 5: But it don't sound it hits your ears wrong, your
- 1:55:23Speaker 5: sensibilities are offended. When Ron Howard is the director and
- 1:55:28Speaker 5: executive producer of a movie and then his daughter Bryce
- 1:55:32Speaker 5: Dallas gets the lead, bro, everybody goes, that's nepotism. And yeah, okay,
- 1:55:37Speaker 5: and and but I got a school that I support,
- 1:55:42Speaker 5: and I give them all kind of uniforms.
- 1:55:44Speaker 2: I can't I pay some of the students too.
- 1:55:47Speaker 8: Yeah, I know, if I don't, if I give it
- 1:55:49Speaker 8: all of them. You're gonna say them, I'm monopolized, right right,
- 1:55:52Speaker 8: So I'm gonna get you the whole. I'm gonna give
- 1:55:56Speaker 8: you a couple so when you transfer next year, you come.
- 1:55:58Speaker 2: On out the Org.
- 1:56:01Speaker 5: It's a great recruiting tool. It's a great I'm already
- 1:56:04Speaker 5: in bed with you. Yeah, just come on out and
- 1:56:06Speaker 5: play for Oregon. Now, we got to see if any
- 1:56:08Speaker 5: of those players after this season transfer to Organ.
- 1:56:13Speaker 2: Mm hmm, that will be the next now, now will
- 1:56:17Speaker 2: that be?
- 1:56:18Speaker 7: Will that be?
- 1:56:18Speaker 5: Somebody's got to do something if that happens, like next season,
- 1:56:22Speaker 5: but they all go out, the Organ gonna be.
- 1:56:25Speaker 8: Like I tried to tell Nick, same, We're gonna be
- 1:56:28Speaker 8: right there. I try to tell you all a couple
- 1:56:29Speaker 8: of years ago. Remember I went to Congress.
- 1:56:33Speaker 2: To Congress.
- 1:56:37Speaker 29: What the game?

- 1:57:47Speaker 8: you don't have to carry the woes every day. You
- 1:57:51Speaker 8: can put them down some days. But if you're missing
- 1:57:55Speaker 8: an of today's show, you can go to Apple Podcasts,
- 1:57:57Speaker 8: Amazon Podcasts, Audible, Deezer, iHeartRadio, Spotify catch a replay of
- 1:58:04Speaker 8: the show. The World Cup has finished, so on the
- 1:58:08Speaker 8: right note, we have to address and acknowledge Spain winning
- 1:58:15Speaker 8: the World Cup here in the United States in twenty
- 1:58:19Speaker 8: twenty six. But we also have the knowledge who is
- 1:58:24Speaker 8: considered maybe the all time greatest athlete in the world,
- 1:58:30Speaker 8: Craig Lionel Messi.
- 1:58:36Speaker 2: You know the name because even the person that rarely
- 1:58:42Speaker 2: watched soccer know the name. That's how legendary.
- 1:58:47Speaker 8: The man from Argentina made himself most likely his last
- 1:58:52Speaker 8: World Cup unless he can now. He saw Serena, so
- 1:58:55Speaker 8: he ain't gonna try to come back in forty four.
- 1:58:58Speaker 8: He saw Serena.
- 1:58:59Speaker 2: Trust me. He was like, man, you know what I thought?
- 1:59:02Speaker 2: I thought out that.
- 1:59:05Speaker 5: He was already walking this half of this World Cup
- 1:59:08Speaker 5: because you can't keep over them nineteen year old. But
- 1:59:12Speaker 5: line Messi the legend. We thank you for all the
- 1:59:16Speaker 5: moments and for us casual fans had only no names
- 1:59:22Speaker 5: like Ronaldo and Pele and Nymar.
- 1:59:26Speaker 8: Messi is also a name that we all know and
- 1:59:30Speaker 8: have enjoyed. And it seemed like for the Argentina team
- 1:59:33Speaker 8: in this World Cup, if something good happened, Line Messi
- 1:59:39Speaker 8: was the one who made it happen for them. So
- 1:59:42Speaker 8: on a great note to be able to bring him
- 1:59:45Speaker 8: on the ship. And I need to brush up on
- 1:59:47Speaker 8: my Espanol anyway, get my whatever? What did Argentinian to
- 1:59:53Speaker 8: speak Spanish?
- 1:59:54Speaker 2: Okay? Okay, I didn't know if it was Portuguese? Was
- 1:59:56Speaker 2: all abordo? All okay? That's how big stand Red Fox.
- 2:00:07Speaker 5: The great Linel Messi on board with us? Whatever now,
- 2:00:13Speaker 5: But come on.
