- 2:22Speaker 2: All right, miami North Carolina tomorrow.
- 2:32Speaker 2: It's a big game, huge game.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Obviously, miami was looking forward to this game last week.
- 2:44Speaker 3: We were looking forward to it, not so much looking at the team in front of us.
- 2:51Speaker 1: No no.
- 2:55Speaker 3: But I've heard coming out of practice this week that TVD has been practicing Neal Downs Very, very obsessively, so you're going to see the greatest Neal Down ever at the end of the first half.
- 3:07Speaker 2: Do you expect to see?
- 3:08Speaker 2: Well, I know, initially you thought that this was going to lead to losing streak.
- 3:14Speaker 2: Do you still think that way?
- 3:16Speaker 2: If I were to bet money, yes, yeah, now, okay, now, let's put on your emotional fanatic hat as a Miami fan.
- 3:32Speaker 3: All right, cocky Kane fan.
- 3:33Speaker 2: Yeah, there you go.
- 3:34Speaker 3: All right, here comes cocky Kane fan for you.
- 3:36Speaker 3: Chaney didn't fumble.
- 3:38Speaker 3: If you look at the replay, Chaney was on the ground before they ripped it out of his hands.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Oh, I know, I know he didn't fumble.
- 3:43Speaker 2: Yeah, I know.
- 3:46Speaker 3: And you can't expect the defense to come back out after they already taken all their tape off and they're already planning on what they're going to do in Coconut Grove and then get out there and actually play some damn defense.
- 3:55Speaker 3: So I blame nobody except the refs.
- 3:57Speaker 3: The Cheaten-ass refs and the ACC screwed Miami because they have a Miami bias.
- 4:02Speaker 3: They hate us and what's going to happen now is the team is going to rally like you've never seen before and Miami wins out, wins the ACC and goes to college football playoff.
- 4:14Speaker 3: How about that TVD for Heisman?
- 4:20Speaker 2: I love it man.
- 4:24Speaker 3: That's the cocky Kane fan in me that I got to toe down every now and then I know I love it, man, but that's how you really feel though.
- 4:33Speaker 2: It's in there, it's in there.
- 4:35Speaker 3: Oh yeah, no, that's the passion in there, and I do see an actual potential for that to happen, because I think there's one or two things that's going to happen after that debacle last weekend on.
- 4:50Speaker 3: Either the team rallies and we do bounce back and we play some of the best football that we've seen out of Miami since I don't know Brock Berlin or what we've seen since Brock Berlin, and we go on the losing street.
- 5:07Speaker 3: We end up seven and six and then we lose in the you know lick my nuts bowl and Santa Fe or something yeah well, it's gonna get tough because you have you see, then Clemson, yeah well you know I'm not big on Clemson.
- 5:23Speaker 2: I don't think Clemson's that good well, mario Cristobal is not big on winning ACC home games, as he is 0 and 5 now all in his short career who with Miami, he's not really good at winning any games.
- 5:37Speaker 2: Let's be realistic about so you think this is a line in the sand here?
- 5:43Speaker 3: this is it.
- 5:44Speaker 3: We know.
- 5:44Speaker 3: We will know everything you need to know about Miami for the rest of the season.
- 5:48Speaker 2: Saturday night at 11 o'clock yeah, it feels like that it might be that for it, for for this coaching staff too we still can't afford to get rid of Cristobal.
- 5:59Speaker 2: I know you can't afford it, but you need to see some kind of response here.
- 6:03Speaker 3: You need to see oh, yeah, no, we need to come out, like about out of hell, like we need to come out, we need a.
- 6:11Speaker 3: I mean, I would say we wouldn't, we win the coin.
- 6:14Speaker 3: Toss, take the ball first, march it right down the field, because we're gonna have to keep, we're gonna have to score.
- 6:20Speaker 2: Yeah, he pays with with Drake man, that offense you don't see, you don't think Miami's gonna slow him down a little bit?
- 6:31Speaker 3: I mean.
- 6:32Speaker 2: I was.
- 6:32Speaker 3: The one bright spot was the defense and the defense has looked really good, but my last memory of seeing by any defense was that asshole running right through five of our defense and backs wide open as time expired a little change a little change it on my, on my love of the defense but yeah but I mean especially when it's when you went as Williams and kitchens and he splits the two of them at the end of the game well, you already know that it's going down.
- 7:04Speaker 2: It's going down as an all-time decision.
- 7:07Speaker 2: It's gonna go down as an all-time just boneheaded play in college football.
- 7:13Speaker 2: But well, either you're gonna how will you talk about the next chapter, Was that?
- 7:20Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that's when Miami, that's when they actually turned it around, or it just got worse.
- 7:27Speaker 3: Well, you know what?
- 7:27Speaker 3: We had brought this up earlier in the season, when I had I had compared this Miami team to the 1999 Kane scene, which was the year, you know, the year before we were back.
- 7:44Speaker 3: Quote unquote.
- 7:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:46Speaker 3: And if you look back at that season, the second to last game of the season, syracuse absolutely boat raced us in the Carrier Dome.
- 7:54Speaker 3: They beat us like 62 to 13 or something, just destroyed us and it was like for the Miami fan back then it's like, oh God, we're not back.
- 8:04Speaker 3: We played a real team and they killed us.
- 8:06Speaker 3: That's that.
- 8:08Speaker 3: And then we bounced back the next week after that embarrassment and had one of my favorite all-time Miami games when we beat number three UCLA in the OB.
- 8:16Speaker 2: Yeah, we've talked about that game.
- 8:19Speaker 3: Yep, that was one of my favorite all-time Miami games and it came on the back of one of the most embarrassing losses in program history.
- 8:27Speaker 3: So if my Nostradamus skills are correct, from earlier this season.
- 8:32Speaker 2: wait a second, that's not the right year.
- 8:34Speaker 2: That's the 98 team you're thinking of.
- 8:39Speaker 3: Yeah, no, it was December of 98.
- 8:40Speaker 3: I always confuse those stupid 98, 99, 0203 because there you go, yeah, yeah.
- 8:47Speaker 3: So if my Nostradamus skills are correct when I was saying this is the 98 team, then we bounce back and we get a huge victory in Chapel Hill Saturday.
- 9:01Speaker 2: What do you really think?
- 9:03Speaker 3: I really think Drake May starts the challenge for Caleb Williams for the number one pick and he picks us apart.
- 9:11Speaker 2: He did look really good.
- 9:13Speaker 3: He's awesome dude.
- 9:14Speaker 3: I think I remember telling somebody a couple years ago, remember when Carolina opened up against FAMU in that week, zero game.
- 9:22Speaker 2: Yeah, oh yeah, we were at that game.
- 9:25Speaker 2: I mean the network.
- 9:28Speaker 3: I remember watching that game and in the second quarter I texted a buddy of mine who is like my draft, nick buddy, and I texted him halfway through the second quarter.
- 9:38Speaker 3: I'm like this kid in North Carolina is going to be a top five draft.
- 9:41Speaker 3: I said that with only watching a quarter and a half.
- 9:43Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean he jumps off the screen.
- 9:48Speaker 2: Yeah, his athleticism is really good.
- 9:51Speaker 2: That's what surprised me.
- 9:54Speaker 3: Yes, he's not a stick figure, a droop leds, so stand in the pocket, even though he's kind of built like a droop leds.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:01Speaker 3: So I mean, he's a perfect modern quarterback and I don't really see any chance at actually stopping him Right.
- 10:09Speaker 2: So you see him catapulting himself.
- 10:12Speaker 2: And well, if North Carolina, if they do that, they're going to put themselves up there.
- 10:17Speaker 2: He's going to put himself up there in the Heisman race.
- 10:21Speaker 3: Oh, absolutely.
- 10:22Speaker 3: I really think Miami's best shot it's going to be the turnover battle.
- 10:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:28Speaker 3: If Miami can win the turnover battle, we got a damn good shot at winning this game.
- 10:32Speaker 3: If we lose the turnover battle, we're going to get a good one.
- 10:35Speaker 2: Yeah, we'll find out.
- 10:37Speaker 2: I think you're going to get a good effort.
- 10:43Speaker 3: I hope so, man.
- 10:44Speaker 3: I mean because taking last year away, because last year I mean it was just such a mess, but this year the, the Keynes open to last Saturday looked like a different Miami team that I've seen in a while.
- 10:59Speaker 2: Yeah, it looked like the same.
- 11:02Speaker 2: Like yeah, last Saturday was a was just, you got to get a snap out of it, you got to move on.
- 11:10Speaker 3: You just got to forget it like a DB that just got burned.
- 11:13Speaker 2: Right.
- 11:14Speaker 3: Just forget it and jump that next round and get a pick.
- 11:16Speaker 2: I mean you have a type of game where now nobody's going to be picking you.
- 11:20Speaker 2: You know this is the type of you know us against the world type of thing.
- 11:25Speaker 2: You know classic.
- 11:27Speaker 2: You know you can kind of rally the troops here.
- 11:32Speaker 3: Yeah, maybe we get a get emo, jimmy I hope not.
- 11:35Speaker 3: And give a give a give a hype speech.
- 11:39Speaker 3: Man with emo Jimmy yeah, he knows about the me against the world as an eight seed Right.
- 11:45Speaker 2: Well, I don't know man.
- 11:46Speaker 3: Maybe get urban in there.
- 11:47Speaker 3: Right, you got.
- 11:49Speaker 2: Restripo they need something.
- 11:52Speaker 3: Oh God, I love that guy man.
- 11:53Speaker 3: I can't wait till the Patriots draft him and come the next one, yeah.
- 11:58Speaker 2: He's that's like the number one target for TVD oh yeah, well, I mean they're, they're their best friends.
- 12:05Speaker 3: Restripo is one of those.
- 12:06Speaker 3: He's one of those crafty, annoying.
- 12:09Speaker 3: If I wasn't a Keynes fan, he'd be the most annoying guy on the field for me, because I?
- 12:14Speaker 3: Why can't we cover this guy?
- 12:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:16Speaker 3: And he's always getting open TVD.
- 12:18Speaker 3: It's almost like they share the same brain, because they always know exactly what the other is going to do.
- 12:24Speaker 2: We'll see what that Miami secondary, and kitchens in particular.
- 12:28Speaker 2: We'll see what he's made of this Saturday too.
- 12:31Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, that's.
- 12:33Speaker 3: That's going to be a fun watch.
- 12:34Speaker 3: Is is the Miami secondary against Drake May and the Carolina White receivers.
- 12:39Speaker 3: Yeah, and I just want to see kitchens bring the frickin thunder on somebody running over the middle man.
- 12:46Speaker 3: It remind me of the 90s.
- 12:48Speaker 3: You know, give me a big smashing hit early in the game.
- 12:52Speaker 3: Stop the tone.
- 12:53Speaker 3: Yep, let him know that we're over that idiotic call and we can't.
- 13:00Speaker 2: That just makes it worse.
- 13:01Speaker 2: Oh, it was almost like no, no, no, we got.
- 13:05Speaker 2: We just see what happens here.
- 13:06Speaker 2: Just say the play stands.
- 13:11Speaker 3: And I honestly, I couldn't even give a great evaluation whether it should have been overturned or not, because I was so at that point you can hear here let's.
- 13:21Speaker 2: You can hear Hasslebacks saying in the clip, but he believes there's enough information for them to overturn it now.
- 13:29Speaker 2: He also said you don't snap, snap the ball here at all.
- 13:36Speaker 2: He was like no, no, what are you doing?
- 13:38Speaker 2: No, no, there's less than 40 seconds of what?
- 13:41Speaker 2: No, no, and I honestly, after further review I Think they were on the phone with reviewing this like man, we got to have some ratings.
- 13:53Speaker 2: This game sucks.
- 13:54Speaker 2: Let's just see if we can have something happen here.
- 13:57Speaker 2: It's probably not.
- 13:59Speaker 2: There's no way they're gonna give up a touchdown.
- 14:03Speaker 3: Now, but let's make them think they got a chance.
- 14:05Speaker 2: Yeah, but you're right, if that's a, that's Florida State, I'm furious about that call.
- 14:11Speaker 2: I mean, regardless of the coaching decision which got dogged, man, that's still a terrible decision, it's still it.
- 14:20Speaker 2: Oh, take even that.
- 14:22Speaker 2: And it just shows to how bad the ACC reps are.
- 14:25Speaker 2: You can't, you can't ever let it, let it be in their hands.
- 14:28Speaker 2: They're the worst out of all the conferences they are.
- 14:32Speaker 2: They are the worst.
- 14:33Speaker 2: You know, because you've had other games with other conferences and it just seems like a totally different Game when you play in it, even when it's the SEC game, when you're playing down in Florida.
- 14:46Speaker 3: They're like North Carolina, south Carolina to open up the season.
- 14:49Speaker 3: Give me the SEC refs all day long against an SEC team.
- 14:54Speaker 2: Yeah, that's right, right Like.
- 14:58Speaker 3: I'm gonna want an ACC ref at my fucking spring game.
- 15:00Speaker 2: No man Don't know what they're doing, what they're teaching up there in Greensboro.
- 15:09Speaker 3: But I am.
- 15:09Speaker 3: I am, believe it or not, I am ridiculously excited for this game.
- 15:14Speaker 2: Yeah, it's at 330, same time as Oregon, washington.
- 15:18Speaker 2: Oh, no, no wait, yeah, oh, I'm sorry.
- 15:24Speaker 3: Yeah, my bad great and Then at 330 is when you got the Oregon.
- 15:29Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, and then you got Florida State it new man, it's gonna be a huge Saturday man.
- 15:34Speaker 2: We're gonna watch it, we're gonna react to it all.
- 15:37Speaker 2: We'll see what happens.
- 15:39Speaker 3: We'll see if y'all a drunk and instant reaction.
- 15:42Speaker 2: Oh yeah, we'll see.
- 15:43Speaker 2: We'll see, we'll check in with you next time and we'll talk to you right here on the North Florida sports network oh.
