- 0:35How y'all are?
- 0:38Welcome to Cookin' Cajun
- 0:40with Corey on a Tuesday.
- 0:42And you say, Tuesday?
- 0:44But Corey's my Wednesday fix.
- 0:47Well,
- 0:47we had to move him to Tuesday because
- 0:50I had Pete Shaw on today, later.
- 0:53But then my job made me get
- 0:55a meeting scheduled for the
- 0:58same time Pete was to be on.
- 1:01So I had to move Pete to
- 1:02tomorrow at lunch and then
- 1:05move Corey to Tuesday.
- 1:08And now I have to go to this
- 1:08stupid meeting this afternoon.
- 1:11And that's my week.
- 1:16Scott's juggling people.
- 1:22It's fantastic.
- 1:23juggling with people, lots of texts,
- 1:25lots of calendar invites sent out.
- 1:28And yes, Judy Reed, dumb work.
- 1:32Dumb work.
- 1:34I don't mind people meeting,
- 1:36but I got a life.
- 1:37Let me know what my meetings
- 1:38are ahead of time.
- 1:39Don't hit me with a surprise meeting.
- 1:42my wife's the same way they
- 1:44have so many meetings at
- 1:44work calls blah blah blah
- 1:47whatever and she's like
- 1:49ninety percent of them
- 1:50don't need to happen like
- 1:52we would get so much more
- 1:53work done if we actually do
- 1:54our work instead of going
- 1:55and having a meeting to
- 1:56talk about doing our work
- 1:58it's ridiculous it's funny
- 2:00I just got out of a meeting
- 2:01literally like at twelve oh five
- 2:04When I hold that meeting,
- 2:05when my partner is off and
- 2:07I hold it myself,
- 2:09we are in and out of that
- 2:10meeting in fifteen minutes.
- 2:12Today was sixty-five minutes.
- 2:16Is everybody good?
- 2:17Yeah.
- 2:17All right.
- 2:21Great.
- 2:21That's my kind of meeting, Scott.
- 2:23I do not dick around.
- 2:25I am in and out.
- 2:30Last time we were talking about it,
- 2:33none of that matters.
- 2:37What's happening right now?
- 2:38Everybody who's here
- 2:39remembers what happened last week.
- 2:40That's fantastic.
- 2:41Let's talk about what's
- 2:43happening right now.
- 2:44If there's not anything to talk about,
- 2:45let's move on.
- 2:46Don't need to bring out hypotheticals.
- 2:48It ain't ever going to happen.
- 2:52Yeah.
- 2:54That kind of stuff drives me bananas,
- 2:56especially with the work that I do.
- 2:59Well, what if, bro,
- 3:00you are describing a
- 3:01scenario that is probably
- 3:03never going to happen outside of a movie?
- 3:05So my first professional job.
- 3:09was was essentially osha I
- 3:11was the department of
- 3:12safety with with the state
- 3:13of florida doing stat stats
- 3:16and information for how
- 3:18people got hurt at work
- 3:20right it was part of the
- 3:21national program we would
- 3:22go to these national
- 3:23conferences and we would
- 3:25talk about like how do you
- 3:26classify different injuries
- 3:29and there's this guy from
- 3:29boston he's at everyone and
- 3:31he brings it up at every
- 3:32meeting well I have
- 3:36I have these fishermen that
- 3:37go out and they do lobster
- 3:39fishing and then they get
- 3:42what's called crab asthma.
- 3:44And if I, they get crab asthma,
- 3:46how do I classify that as an injury?
- 3:48So whenever anybody brought
- 3:49up a stupid idea,
- 3:51we just started calling it
- 3:52another crab asthma.
- 3:56What could that possibly be?
- 4:00Crab asthma.
- 4:02It it's, it is real.
- 4:05it is a real illness that
- 4:06you can get on like fishing boats, but,
- 4:11but it never happens.
- 4:12Like, and it only, only in like,
- 4:17if like you ain't getting
- 4:18crab asthma in Nebraska and
- 4:21they don't care.
- 4:22Yeah.
- 4:24Nobody in Arizona is getting crab,
- 4:25crab asthma.
- 4:26It's not happening.
- 4:27Right.
- 4:31So then that just became
- 4:32like the catchphrase for
- 4:35all stupid questions.
- 4:37Oh, I love it.
- 4:39I absolutely love it.
- 4:40Talking about safety dudes.
- 4:41Look, when I was, uh,
- 4:43we're construction driving
- 4:44problems back in the day, we, uh,
- 4:45we had a job in a plant around here,
- 4:47excuse me.
- 4:48And the first day we were there,
- 4:51we met the safety guy that was on site.
- 4:52Right.
- 4:53And now he's now, you know, how tall I am,
- 4:56which is not very right.
- 4:57And this dude came up to me
- 4:59like right here with his hard hat on.
- 5:01Nice guy,
- 5:02big red horn hat said preacher
- 5:05right here across the front of it.
- 5:06Right.
- 5:07So, um,
- 5:10because we had some turnover and
- 5:12whatnot in our job,
- 5:13like everybody on the job sites, Joe,
- 5:15it's just easier.
- 5:16Right.
- 5:17I don't have to remember Scott, Jeffrey,
- 5:19Helson, Judy,
- 5:20like everybody's Joe doesn't matter.
- 5:23So he walks up to us and he
- 5:24introduces himself, blah, blah, blah,
- 5:25whatever.
- 5:26He said, the guy over here is like,
- 5:27I Joe appreciate it.
- 5:29We got stuff to do.
- 5:29And he goes, no, no, no, no, man.
- 5:31They call me preacher.
- 5:34And we was like, hi, Joe.
- 5:36And he's like, no, man, my name's not Joe.
- 5:39They call me preacher.
- 5:40And he points at it on his hard hat.
- 5:45And I said, hi, Joe.
- 5:48And like one more time,
- 5:50getting kind of irate.
- 5:52And he said, man, they call me preacher.
- 5:55And I said, well, on this job,
- 5:57you're going to be Joe.
- 5:59And like,
- 5:59we just left and went about our stuff.
- 6:00It took him about three days
- 6:02before he realized that
- 6:03everybody out there was Joe
- 6:04and he was okay.
- 6:07So I understand.
- 6:13I've,
- 6:13I've been showing my job now for
- 6:14enough time.
- 6:17But my daughter's doing
- 6:18something really cool today.
- 6:20I'm very proud of her.
- 6:21She's in the Yellowstone,
- 6:24the National Park.
- 6:26She's a photographer for a company.
- 6:29They sell bear-proof coolers.
- 6:33They're going to Yellowstone.
- 6:34They're putting their
- 6:35coolers out there for the
- 6:36bears to come get it.
- 6:37They're going to film to see
- 6:41if they can get in their
- 6:42bear-proof coolers.
- 6:45It's funny you should mention that.
- 6:47One of my...
- 6:48The last dude that I was a roommate with,
- 6:51Matt, he got a,
- 6:55that was one of the
- 6:57features or whatever of the
- 6:59Yeti that somebody had
- 7:00bought him for some reason
- 7:02was that it was bear proof.
- 7:04And so the running joke at
- 7:05the house was that, I mean,
- 7:06ain't no bears around here so far.
- 7:07He's doing his damn job.
- 7:10And he texted me, I shit you not,
- 7:11last week with a picture of the,
- 7:14and he said, still ain't seen no bears.
- 7:16I feel like I'm doing it.
- 7:17I feel like this thing really,
- 7:18we got our money's worth out of it.
- 7:23Andrew, next time I see Corey,
- 7:24I'm calling him Joe.
- 7:25You should.
- 7:26You should.
- 7:27Let me tell you something.
- 7:28It has taken a concerted
- 7:29effort of will since I got
- 7:32out of the crane,
- 7:33out of construction and
- 7:34doing what I do now,
- 7:35which is an office setting,
- 7:36to not still call everybody Joe.
- 7:38Like even when I'm at the gym,
- 7:40It sometimes just naturally comes out.
- 7:42I did it for fifteen years, dude,
- 7:44like it was a long time.
- 7:45So I can tell you right now, Drew,
- 7:48first of all,
- 7:48happy birthday from this weekend.
- 7:50Secondly, if you call me, Joe,
- 7:51I can promise you I'll answer.
- 7:53Yeah, just be prepared to get it back.
- 8:03Jay Burch Yellowstone
- 8:03National Park is going to
- 8:04allow that they have made
- 8:06the arrangements with the
- 8:08with the company with the
- 8:09National Park but what's
- 8:16going on Jay Burch Judy
- 8:17Reed see me rolling I think
- 8:22that was see my boobs right
- 8:24It is.
- 8:25All right.
- 8:26Cool.
- 8:26I've got Andrew Stan.
- 8:27We got Aaron Frazier.
- 8:30We got Helson.
- 8:31What's going on, everybody?
- 8:32So cool that you guys are
- 8:33all with us today.
- 8:34Outstanding.
- 8:40Dad took a new Sprinter van out,
- 8:42so SEMA boobs should return soon.
- 8:51So, before we get into the CrossFit stuff,
- 8:54like we haven't talked enough already,
- 8:57LSU National Champions.
- 9:00Did you see any of the press
- 9:03conferences with the Coastal Carolina?
- 9:09He's got a little girl enough to do it.
- 9:11He was like, our motto is CrossFit.
- 9:15and I'm paraphrasing here,
- 9:16so I'm not quoting him directly,
- 9:18but he basically said that
- 9:20our motto over here is
- 9:21personal responsibility,
- 9:22taking accountability,
- 9:23and then proceeded right
- 9:24after that to throw all the
- 9:26accountability off of
- 9:27himself and onto the umpires.
- 9:32Leading up to the actual two
- 9:35championship games,
- 9:37they had interviewed him
- 9:38and a couple of players and asked him,
- 9:39what do y'all admire about the LSU team?
- 9:45team like what you know that
- 9:46as far as their and then
- 9:48they said like there was a
- 9:50long awkward pause and they
- 9:51were like not much and then
- 9:55we proceeded to win two out
- 9:56of three right off like
- 9:57just basically sweep them
- 9:58in two out of three series
- 10:00so yep don't do shit like
- 10:06that like you are setting
- 10:07yourself up for failure
- 10:09well and you are coastal
- 10:10carolina you are not alabama
- 10:13Like,
- 10:14just be proud that you made the
- 10:15championship game.
- 10:17You haven't been here since
- 10:18twenty sixteen.
- 10:20Maybe or eighteen or two.
- 10:24Maybe you should settle down a little bit.
- 10:27But they went on a twenty
- 10:28six game winning streak.
- 10:30Like they won twenty six in a row.
- 10:33Good for them.
- 10:34Happy for them.
- 10:35But like at some point,
- 10:37you should probably tone it
- 10:38down a little bit.
- 10:40And realize that, yeah,
- 10:41you still got two games left to play.
- 10:42So maybe not talk shit.
- 10:43Yeah.
- 10:47Well,
- 10:47let's dive into some CrossFit stuff
- 10:49before we get too far into this.
- 10:54Last night, Dave's Week in Review,
- 10:56he announced that there
- 10:56would be two announcements today.
- 10:59We think we've seen one.
- 11:03And I think Aaron Frazier
- 11:03already referred to this in the comments.
- 11:08Say!
- 11:18Criss-cross applesauce.
- 11:20Criss-cross applesauce,
- 11:21my favorite thing to do.
- 11:24Yay.
- 11:24I still have a great video
- 11:28of one Mr. Corey Leonard
- 11:31doing criss-cross
- 11:32applesauce at the Masters
- 11:33Fitness Championships.
- 11:35Not well.
- 11:36It did not end well at all.
- 11:37It did not end well at all.
- 11:42On a related topic,
- 11:43before we get too far into
- 11:44this Chris Goss episodes,
- 11:45can we all agree that
- 11:45Allison Scuds is going to
- 11:47be the demo team captain
- 11:49basically for the rest of time?
- 11:52Yes.
- 11:54Okay.
- 11:55God bless her.
- 11:56I hope she makes, she's awesome.
- 11:59I really wish she would make the games,
- 12:00but as it stands right now, sweet baby,
- 12:04she's going to be a lot of
- 12:05these type videos.
- 12:07Can we also say that her
- 12:09partner and soon-to-be
- 12:10husband is a stud and so
- 12:13cool that he was on the
- 12:13show with us Sunday night?
- 12:15Absolutely.
- 12:17Absolutely.
- 12:19Absolutely.
- 12:21Having said that, I'm not mad at this.
- 12:28But didn't Dave say he hated it?
- 12:31Apparently he didn't hate it that much.
- 12:35Because here we are.
- 12:38It's funny.
- 12:38Part of it last night,
- 12:41I watched the rest of it this morning,
- 12:43and he was talking about
- 12:44teaching somebody
- 12:45double-unders and then
- 12:48talking about looking to
- 12:50see how their single-unders
- 12:52were first to see if you
- 12:53could teach them
- 12:54double-unders because I
- 12:54could teach you a whole lot.
- 12:56He said,
- 12:56in other high-skill stuff like
- 12:58crossovers and triple-unders,
- 13:01he even mentioned that.
- 13:02Today, we get this with the crossovers.
- 13:08Trinked Olive prefers triple unders.
- 13:14And Lito did confirm he did
- 13:16say he hated it.
- 13:17Yeah.
- 13:19Mr. Albernaz said, hey,
- 13:20demo people make more money
- 13:22than most games athletes.
- 13:26There you go.
- 13:28I mean,
- 13:28they got to pay them for all their time.
- 13:30I'd imagine like,
- 13:31you don't just fly them out
- 13:32there and have them testing
- 13:33stuff and living up there
- 13:34for however long they stay.
- 13:35Cause I mean,
- 13:36it's probably a pretty
- 13:38substantial amount of time I would think.
- 13:41And the guys that come out,
- 13:42twenty-ninth is probably
- 13:43not making as much money as
- 13:44the demo team people.
- 13:45I would probably, yeah,
- 13:46I would agree to that.
- 13:48Uh,
- 13:48Trained Olive laughs because if people
- 13:52don't know, uh,
- 13:54Trained Olive is Cajun for train to live.
- 13:56It is.
- 14:01and judy reed says and demo
- 14:02team's probably way more
- 14:03fun I would think so dude
- 14:06because like yeah you need
- 14:07to perform and you need to
- 14:08be able to to be at that
- 14:11level whatnot but like the
- 14:13pressure is off like you
- 14:14just need to go and show
- 14:16test these workouts show
- 14:18people how to do it when
- 14:19it's time for like and
- 14:21that's it you're gonna do
- 14:22like a round or two and
- 14:23then go on about your
- 14:23business get cleaned up get
- 14:25ready for the next one
- 14:26let's be honest though for
- 14:29For us jabronis,
- 14:31it's easy to say it'd be
- 14:32more fun and it pays more.
- 14:34But if you're a competitive athlete,
- 14:37then you want to grind.
- 14:38I don't want to be on the demo team.
- 14:39No, no.
- 14:41You want to grind.
- 14:42Yeah.
- 14:44I don't want to be on a demo team.
- 14:45God bless them.
- 14:47They are always – I mean,
- 14:48last year with – was it Allison, Colton?
- 14:55Who's the other two?
- 14:56What was her name?
- 14:57It was that young kid, wasn't it?
- 14:59Anika.
- 15:00Anika was on demo last year?
- 15:04Yeah.
- 15:04Worst year to be a demo team member ever.
- 15:07Unfortunately.
- 15:09Yeah.
- 15:11Sten says demo athletes work
- 15:13way harder than competitors.
- 15:15They're constantly testing
- 15:16even at the games.
- 15:17They are.
- 15:19It's crazy.
- 15:20Trista Smith.
- 15:20That's what I was trying to think of.
- 15:21Thank you, Judy Reed.
- 15:22Does this mean teams will
- 15:24have double darts?
- 15:28Double Dutch bus going down.
- 15:30Yes.
- 15:32Yes.
- 15:33Look, just sitting there getting after it.
- 15:37I am down with that idea.
- 15:38Let's make that happen.
- 15:39Whatever we need to do,
- 15:40whoever we need to call,
- 15:42let's make some calls.
- 15:43Let's send some emails out.
- 15:44Teams do double Dutch.
- 15:46And they have to, like, do the cadence.
- 15:50Like, and sing the whole time.
- 15:52I just want you to sing the song.
- 15:54As long as I get you singing the song,
- 15:56I'm all in, man.
- 15:58Signed.
- 15:59Signed, sealed, delivered.
- 16:01I love it.
- 16:02So that seems to be the only
- 16:04announcement that has come
- 16:05out from CrossFit Games so far today.
- 16:07Yeah.
- 16:08But he did say two
- 16:09announcements were coming out today.
- 16:12I'd love to know what the other one,
- 16:13like I don't even have an
- 16:14idea what it might be.
- 16:15Like maybe give you a hint
- 16:17towards a strength event.
- 16:20If it's something off the wall.
- 16:24It could be as simple as a sponsor.
- 16:27Right.
- 16:29Could be who bought CrossFit.
- 16:31You think they're going to
- 16:35make that public right now?
- 16:39How far out are we?
- 16:41Two months?
- 16:43Yeah, not even.
- 16:45Six, seven weeks?
- 16:46Six weeks?
- 16:47Be a bold choice, I think,
- 16:49to just go ahead and drop
- 16:50that bomb today on a random
- 16:54Tuesday at the end of June.
- 16:57Not saying that they won't
- 16:58because they've done crazier stuff.
- 17:03I think he said it didn't
- 17:03have anything to do with the sale.
- 17:04Oh, I know, Andrew.
- 17:06I'm just trying to create.
- 17:07Yeah,
- 17:08but we're trying to create drama here,
- 17:10Andrew.
- 17:13But Andrew's a lot of fun at parties.
- 17:15Yeah.
- 17:16Actually,
- 17:17he said it didn't have anything
- 17:18to do with the sale.
- 17:19We're trying to have a fun conversation.
- 17:21We're trying to be like keeping it real.
- 17:23No fact base.
- 17:24Just some stuff.
- 17:27None.
- 17:28I looked at what other people said.
- 17:31I looked at what other people said.
- 17:34I formed my own opinion,
- 17:36which was exactly the same as theirs.
- 17:37I just made a video about it.
- 17:45I hope I don't see you in Kansas, Andrew.
- 17:47I actually booked my plane
- 17:52tickets last night.
- 17:53We are all the way official, so
- 17:58So let's move on.
- 17:59Yes, sir.
- 18:01Someone did something pretty
- 18:01cool in the CrossFit space,
- 18:04and that is one Mr. James Sprague.
- 18:07Six weeks out from CrossFit Games,
- 18:10he decides to do an Ironman.
- 18:13That is crazy town banana pants.
- 18:18Are you kidding me?
- 18:20Bro.
- 18:21Did you see his time?
- 18:23Yeah.
- 18:24Insane for just a guy doing CrossFit.
- 18:31Yeah.
- 18:31And that's what,
- 18:33so that's a seven point three, right?
- 18:35That's a, that's a half Ironman,
- 18:36but still his swim time
- 18:42alone as someone who's been
- 18:43swimming and trying to
- 18:44actively learn how to swim
- 18:46for distance is that's, that's it.
- 18:49That's those are insane
- 18:50times for somebody who does CrossFit.
- 18:55I was a swimmer at a high end swimmer.
- 18:59doing hundred meter
- 19:01intervals on like a minute
- 19:06thirty would be insane in the pool.
- 19:10You said a minute
- 19:11thirty-five average in open water.
- 19:20Scott,
- 19:20I struggle to maintain a hundred and
- 19:23three and a half minutes.
- 19:26He was a swimmer though, wasn't he?
- 19:28Yes, he was.
- 19:30That is open water.
- 19:33I'm trying to tell you guys, in a pool,
- 19:36that's an insane pace.
- 19:39In open water, it is ridiculous time.
- 19:42Open water, competition,
- 19:44other people out there,
- 19:45all the factors thrown in there,
- 19:47that is bananas.
- 19:51I saw that and I was like,
- 19:53His chip timer went bananas.
- 19:56It went off some weird way.
- 19:58There's no way.
- 19:59I'm going to tell you something else too.
- 20:00If somebody has been riding
- 20:01their bike around the
- 20:01neighborhood a whole lot,
- 20:02like I can do ten miles.
- 20:04Now granted,
- 20:05I don't have a real fancy road bike.
- 20:06I have a semi-fancy mountain
- 20:09bike that I ride around.
- 20:11So I don't have road tires
- 20:13and clipping pedals, all that nonsense.
- 20:16But to average almost
- 20:17nineteen miles an hour, you truck it.
- 20:23you are, you are like, that's not,
- 20:26it's not lollygagging around.
- 20:28Um, I can do, I usually do,
- 20:32or like Sunday or Saturday,
- 20:33rather I did ten miles and
- 20:36it takes me just under
- 20:37forty minutes or just that
- 20:39forty minutes to do ten miles.
- 20:41That's averaging somewhere
- 20:42around fourteen miles an hour,
- 20:43fifteen miles an hour.
- 20:45And I am
- 20:48I'm not a fantastic biker,
- 20:49but I'm not terrible either.
- 20:50Like I know what it takes to
- 20:52hold that kind of pace for
- 20:53that amount of time.
- 20:54And what this is like a
- 20:55hundred and seventeen miles
- 20:56or something like that.
- 20:58It's a lot.
- 20:59It's a lot.
- 21:01And at eighteen,
- 21:02averaging eighteen point
- 21:03seven five miles per hour.
- 21:05That that's the part that
- 21:06that stands out to me like
- 21:07that is trucking, dude.
- 21:09That is that is moving right along.
- 21:11So this is my question.
- 21:12What can't this man do?
- 21:15I win games last year
- 21:16granted we had the lazar
- 21:18jukic tragedy and not
- 21:20everybody finished the
- 21:21games and he wins the games
- 21:24and everybody's like well
- 21:25he only did it because of
- 21:26the programming this guy
- 21:31qualified for the world
- 21:32championships in high rocks
- 21:34he just completed an iron
- 21:35man at an insane time and insane paces
- 21:43Is he trying to say, like,
- 21:45just line the stuff up for
- 21:46me and I will show you how
- 21:48fit I am and why I am the
- 21:50fittest man on earth?
- 21:56Is there anybody better at
- 21:57endurance shit than James is right now?
- 21:59No, there is not.
- 22:02There just isn't.
- 22:03I don't throw anybody's name
- 22:05out there that you want.
- 22:06There just isn't.
- 22:07And, yeah, what Judy said right there,
- 22:09his half mile to run,
- 22:11to average a seven forty
- 22:12six mile for thirteen miles,
- 22:16seven forty six, excuse me,
- 22:17for like under just holding under eight.
- 22:21After the swim, after the bike.
- 22:25Again, crazy town, banana pants.
- 22:28Simi says,
- 22:29didn't he win what a palooza to.
- 22:31Oh, yeah.
- 22:32Check that box as well.
- 22:35I'm excited to see what he's
- 22:36going to do this year, dude.
- 22:37I really am.
- 22:40And went to Rogue,
- 22:42finished top ten with pneumonia.
- 22:44With pneumonia.
- 22:49With low lung function.
- 22:54Can't breathe.
- 22:56It's okay.
- 22:56I'm going to fly across the
- 22:57pond and still finish top ten.
- 23:00And yes, Aaron, he is an awesome dude.
- 23:06He's a dude, period.
- 23:08Like there's no,
- 23:10what you see is what you get.
- 23:12He is goofy.
- 23:13He is kind.
- 23:15He is just great human beings.
- 23:20what a, what a guy, man.
- 23:21And I, and I, I love the kid.
- 23:23Um,
- 23:23I actually knew his dad before I knew him,
- 23:25uh,
- 23:26through master's fitness was
- 23:28collective at the time now championship.
- 23:30Um, so I,
- 23:32I got to know his dad before I
- 23:33got to know him and his dad
- 23:35is just one of the greatest dudes ever.
- 23:38Like the apple did not fall
- 23:40far from the tree.
- 23:40Right.
- 23:45Um,
- 23:48I think he could be a
- 23:48world-class high rocks
- 23:49athlete too if he wanted to.
- 23:52Without even really training for it,
- 23:53he made the world championships.
- 23:56Yeah.
- 23:56I would say he already is a
- 23:58world-class high rocks
- 23:59athlete without trying.
- 24:01Yeah.
- 24:03Yeah.
- 24:04Let him try and then see.
- 24:07Yeah.
- 24:08If he actually was like...
- 24:09He would be bored as hell
- 24:10doing high rocks.
- 24:12Doing the same movements every day.
- 24:14Same moves over and over again.
- 24:16I mean,
- 24:16there's only so many wall balls you
- 24:17can do before you just like, okay,
- 24:21I got it.
- 24:26I don't know if you guys saw
- 24:27the preview for tomorrow's
- 24:30Rich Froning podcast.
- 24:34It's going to be a hot one.
- 24:38Like seven inches from the midday sun.
- 24:41Yes, sir.
- 24:43Let me see if I can pull
- 24:45that up real quick.
- 24:46You should have had that
- 24:47sound bite ready in the sky.
- 24:48We could just play that.
- 24:49It's a great song.
- 24:54Here is a preview of
- 24:56tomorrow's Rich Froning
- 24:57podcast with Brent Fikowski.
- 25:02Are we ready?
- 25:04Your biggest problem right
- 25:06now is your buy-in to the
- 25:08PFAA or really just into
- 25:10the things that you're pushing.
- 25:12Probably the buy-in from
- 25:13people who just disagree
- 25:14with you or think they disagree with you.
- 25:17And I think a lot of it
- 25:17stems from the demands after the game.
- 25:20Absolutely.
- 25:21I think a lot of your
- 25:22biggest problem right
- 25:23now... Let's get right into it.
- 25:29That has been what I've been
- 25:30trying to say all along.
- 25:32The PFAA is only as strong
- 25:35as the support it gets from
- 25:36the other athletes.
- 25:40Brent just going off saying
- 25:41things without the backing
- 25:43of the other athletes is meaningless.
- 25:46And that they needed a
- 25:47better organizational
- 25:48structure to show that they
- 25:50were all together.
- 25:54And they put the cart before the horse.
- 25:57And I took it on the chin
- 25:59for freaking months when I
- 26:00was saying that.
- 26:02That they did not put
- 26:03together a good voting strategy,
- 26:06a good support strategy for
- 26:08that organization before
- 26:09they went all in with these demands.
- 26:14They basically said, oh, wait,
- 26:16we have an organization
- 26:19that we made up yesterday, essentially,
- 26:22and this is the things that we want.
- 26:25And they got laughed at and
- 26:26didn't understand why they
- 26:28got laughed at.
- 26:28I can tell you why,
- 26:29because of what you just said.
- 26:31You have nothing to back it up.
- 26:36The return of the king.
- 26:38Oh, excuse me, not the return of the king,
- 26:39the two towers.
- 26:40You have no power here.
- 26:42You have no power here.
- 26:45So what soapbox,
- 26:49what bargaining chip do you
- 26:50think you have?
- 26:51You do not.
- 26:53Because the people that,
- 26:55we talked about this before,
- 26:57the people who are not
- 26:58competing this year because
- 26:59they stepped out because
- 27:01they're either part of the PFFA, PFA,
- 27:03they stepped out for whatever reason,
- 27:07the season moves on.
- 27:10With or without you?
- 27:12I, for one, I like Brent.
- 27:15We have a, we, well,
- 27:17probably till just this moment,
- 27:18we had a good relationship.
- 27:20Probably till right up until just now.
- 27:24I like the idea of an
- 27:25organization for the
- 27:26athletes to be able to
- 27:27communicate what they need and want.
- 27:30But it should be done in a
- 27:31way that makes sense and it
- 27:33takes into account all the
- 27:35athletes and not just three
- 27:37elected officials who deem
- 27:40what is important and what is not.
- 27:41And because you elected them
- 27:43nine months ago,
- 27:44they get to say whatever they want.
- 27:46and that and they are
- 27:47representing everybody that
- 27:49makes no sense you should
- 27:50have meetings with
- 27:51everybody get votes on
- 27:53controversial topics so
- 27:55that you can say in a vote
- 27:57of eighty nine to sixty
- 28:00four we voted this through
- 28:02and these are the demands
- 28:03we want to make that holds
- 28:06way more water than eight
- 28:10of us sign this document
- 28:11this is what we want this
- 28:13is what we think
- 28:15And it's the same eight
- 28:16people who've been saying
- 28:16the same things for however long.
- 28:18So like, all you did was say that, okay,
- 28:21instead of us saying it individually,
- 28:22we're all saying it,
- 28:23the eight of us or however many it is,
- 28:25are all saying it together now.
- 28:29So I'm not against an
- 28:31organization for the athletes.
- 28:32I'm not running it.
- 28:34I just always thought the
- 28:36structure sucked.
- 28:39You have no authority.
- 28:41You have no,
- 28:42and it's an outside body at that.
- 28:44Like,
- 28:47You have no association with
- 28:48CrossFit other than the
- 28:49fact that everybody that's in it does it.
- 28:55Thank you, Andrew Stinn,
- 28:56for being the voice of reason.
- 28:57That is correct.
- 28:58Every other players association does.
- 28:59Members get a vote.
- 29:01Especially on the big ticket items.
- 29:05Maybe the board will pick
- 29:07what bank account they use
- 29:08and pick the little stuff.
- 29:12Inconsequential stuff.
- 29:14Let's call it that.
- 29:15When you're putting a demand
- 29:17you want people fired,
- 29:18the member should have voted.
- 29:19And why do you want to go with that?
- 29:24Because reasons.
- 29:28Because I've been wanting
- 29:28him going for years and now
- 29:30I've got these other people
- 29:30that agree that we can all
- 29:32kind of try to present some
- 29:33sort of united front and say it.
- 29:36The problem was it's what
- 29:37those few people wanted.
- 29:39They flexed,
- 29:41thought they had enough juice
- 29:42behind the flex and they didn't.
- 29:45And now they've got nothing.
- 29:47And now they're starting
- 29:48from less than zero to
- 29:49build this back up if they want to.
- 29:53They had a bluff.
- 29:54It was called cards on the table.
- 29:58What do you have?
- 29:58Nothing.
- 29:59Oh, well, all right.
- 30:01Moving right along.
- 30:03What did CrossFit do in response?
- 30:05Oh, here's the CAC again.
- 30:08This thing that we already had once,
- 30:10and then y'all decided
- 30:10y'all didn't want to have,
- 30:11and then y'all decided we needed,
- 30:13so we just brought it back.
- 30:15Here's a CrossFit athlete console,
- 30:17which is actually
- 30:17represented by athletes
- 30:19that are still doing CrossFit.
- 30:23I can't wait, dude.
- 30:23I cannot wait.
- 30:25I think Angelo is...
- 30:28Probably just starting to
- 30:29get his recognition as
- 30:30being a fantastic
- 30:31interviewer of people and
- 30:32talking to somebody who
- 30:33knows so much about the
- 30:34space and what's going on.
- 30:35And he is not scared to talk
- 30:38to people and ask questions
- 30:40and tell them exactly what's on his mind.
- 30:43And I think that makes for a
- 30:46phenomenal interview
- 30:47experience if he's let off
- 30:49the leash and let him say
- 30:51what he wants to say.
- 30:53What I want to know,
- 30:54and this is on a different subject,
- 30:56but on last week's Rich Froning podcast,
- 30:59they briefly mentioned that
- 31:00Angelo got a contract with
- 31:03Mayhem to do something in
- 31:04their organization now.
- 31:07But they did not say what that was.
- 31:10And so I am really anxious
- 31:11to see why he was brought on,
- 31:16what role he's playing.
- 31:17I mean, he does a lot for Mayhem now,
- 31:20just as like a friend.
- 31:22Yeah, but they made something official.
- 31:24Yeah.
- 31:27That's a... Really slight
- 31:29pickup in the background, but yeah,
- 31:33I'm anxious to see.
- 31:40Lita said, food for thought.
- 31:41Do you think that if someone,
- 31:43not saying Castro necessarily,
- 31:45had been fired or resigned,
- 31:46we'd be in better position now?
- 31:54Okay.
- 31:55My thought is no.
- 31:56My thought is that we see
- 31:58these public faces and
- 32:00they're not really the ones
- 32:01running the show.
- 32:03The people running the show
- 32:04are the board of directors
- 32:06for the private equity firm.
- 32:09They're the ones making all
- 32:10these decisions and it's
- 32:13Castro and fall and all
- 32:15these people coming out in
- 32:17front of everybody,
- 32:18having to communicate that message,
- 32:21whether they believe it or not.
- 32:24And I think that that is the problem.
- 32:29I would agree to that.
- 32:32I would definitely agree to that.
- 32:36I don't see that as solving a problem.
- 32:38That is throwing fuel on the fire, I guess,
- 32:43to keep everybody warm for a little bit.
- 32:46But then once that burns out,
- 32:47then what happens?
- 32:48What's changed?
- 32:50God bless Lazar.
- 32:51He's still gone.
- 32:57I think,
- 32:58and Lito follows that up with in
- 33:00terms of a less divided community.
- 33:02I think you're going to have
- 33:03the divided community regardless.
- 33:06You have people who love Dave Castro.
- 33:09You have people who hate Dave Castro.
- 33:10Yeah,
- 33:11I don't think there's a lot of middle
- 33:12ground here.
- 33:13No.
- 33:15Not a lot of people in the middle.
- 33:17And I think that if they fired him,
- 33:22you'd have the same half
- 33:23that supported him upset
- 33:25that they fired him.
- 33:27Yeah.
- 33:28And then the other half glad
- 33:29that he's gone.
- 33:31And then the same board of
- 33:33directors running the whole show anyway.
- 33:36Well,
- 33:36here's the thing about that kind of stuff,
- 33:38too,
- 33:38that comes to mind is that where does
- 33:41it end?
- 33:42So the next person,
- 33:43so you fire Dave Castro and
- 33:45the people that hate Dave
- 33:46Castro are having a party, whatever,
- 33:49excited.
- 33:51And then whoever is going to step up,
- 33:53steps up.
- 33:54And then something else
- 33:55happens next year or two years from now,
- 33:57or three years from now,
- 33:58we fired that dude.
- 34:01And then what, like you just fired to,
- 34:05to appease people said, oh, well,
- 34:07these people think these
- 34:08guys should be fired.
- 34:10We should probably fire.
- 34:11And then, and then what did you see?
- 34:14I did see that running may have Angelo,
- 34:18the contract running mayhem.
- 34:20So rich can be CEO.
- 34:26Hmm.
- 34:30Let me tell you this.
- 34:32I'm not saying it's going to happen,
- 34:34but I would not be upset if it did.
- 34:36Does that make sense?
- 34:40It all depends on the structure behind it.
- 34:43You can put whoever you want in that seat.
- 34:45It depends on the ownership
- 34:48group behind it.
- 34:49How is that configured to
- 34:52support the people they put out there?
- 34:55Are they going to give them autonomy?
- 34:56Are they going to give them
- 34:57the ability to do what they want to do?
- 34:59Or is it a board of
- 35:00directors they still have to report to?
- 35:03That's the piece that people
- 35:04keep forgetting.
- 35:06We can put faces out there
- 35:07all we want left and right.
- 35:09If that face doesn't have
- 35:10the ability to do what they
- 35:11want to do and do what they
- 35:13think needs to be done,
- 35:15then none of it matters.
- 35:17No, if it's just in CEO,
- 35:18it's just a figurehead at that point,
- 35:20somebody to roll out there
- 35:22and just spew whatever
- 35:23talking points they have for the day.
- 35:26What good is that doing?
- 35:27What good is that doing
- 35:27anybody at that point?
- 35:29You could put anybody.
- 35:30You could put me up there.
- 35:31We could put Scott up there.
- 35:33It really wouldn't matter
- 35:34because they're just
- 35:36sitting there and just saying, yep,
- 35:38this is what happened yesterday,
- 35:40and just literally reading
- 35:41off of a script,
- 35:42and they don't have any real power.
- 35:45Whoever the new ownership
- 35:46group is actually just going to be, hey,
- 35:49hands off.
- 35:51This is okay.
- 35:52We're going to make,
- 35:53we're going to make rich
- 35:54CEO for whatever reason,
- 35:56because we think he
- 35:57actually has the right tools, vision,
- 36:00knowledge,
- 36:01whatever you want to call it to
- 36:02keep pushing the methodology.
- 36:05Let's make that clear forward.
- 36:08Sports,
- 36:09a by-product always has been the sport.
- 36:16I have different thoughts about that,
- 36:17but that's fine.
- 36:18Yeah.
- 36:19That's for a longer debate
- 36:20on another day when we have
- 36:21more than nine minutes in our lunch hour.
- 36:23But,
- 36:26but even if you look back at the
- 36:27Glassman days, he would hire a CEO.
- 36:30And then if that CEO wasn't
- 36:31doing it the way Greg wanted it done,
- 36:33you go, right.
- 36:36So even though you'd put
- 36:37these different CEOs as the
- 36:39front facing piece of CrossFit,
- 36:41Glassman was always
- 36:42CrossFit because behind the scenes,
- 36:44he's the one running the show.
- 36:47Now we have this public
- 36:49equity firm doing it,
- 36:50and they are going to be
- 36:52the decision makers of
- 36:53CrossFit until they sell
- 36:55and somebody else takes it over.
- 36:57And we just don't know what
- 36:58that new structure is going to be.
- 36:59Facts.
- 37:03So all I know is the current
- 37:08structure does not work.
- 37:12So whatever we're doing
- 37:13today does not work.
- 37:15And I am looking forward to the sale.
- 37:18And it may be worse.
- 37:19Who the hell knows?
- 37:20But I know that whatever is
- 37:22happening today is not working.
- 37:25Right.
- 37:27Right.
- 37:31So hopefully, with that being said,
- 37:34whoever is buying it is not
- 37:37just going to maintain this.
- 37:39Like, it's not a lateral move.
- 37:40Does that make sense?
- 37:41Yeah.
- 37:42You don't spend this much
- 37:43money and make it a lateral move.
- 37:46Well,
- 37:47they spent that much money and
- 37:48brought it backwards.
- 37:50True.
- 37:52They didn't know what they
- 37:53were getting into.
- 37:54If the people you think are
- 37:55buying it are buying it,
- 37:57they've been around the
- 37:58space long enough to know.
- 38:00Yes.
- 38:01Well, they understand that, you know,
- 38:04again, going back to what Greg said,
- 38:06if you provide value,
- 38:09the rest of everything else
- 38:10is going to fall into place.
- 38:14Like the money's going to
- 38:15follow as long as you're
- 38:16providing a product and
- 38:18value that people actually want.
- 38:22I firmly believe that.
- 38:24Yeah.
- 38:26So I don't know where I'm going.
- 38:30So on another note,
- 38:35I just watched the keeping
- 38:36it real video this morning.
- 38:38God bless you for watching Grant stuff.
- 38:41when I was at the games last
- 38:42year there were two people
- 38:44that were my support team
- 38:47um at the games because I
- 38:48was there by myself until
- 38:49cat showed up a couple days
- 38:50into the games and um when
- 38:53I was there grant and
- 38:56amanda harry were my
- 38:57support team and without
- 38:59them I don't know how I
- 39:01would have got through that
- 39:02first day of the games and
- 39:06But man, Grant, dude, dude,
- 39:10you are killing me, brother.
- 39:13Killing me.
- 39:17Oh, Grant.
- 39:19He made the statement and he
- 39:21keeps saying these are the facts.
- 39:25Just because you say they
- 39:25are doesn't mean they necessarily are.
- 39:30And he was saying that
- 39:33The new company came over.
- 39:34They started making cuts to the games.
- 39:38And that's why there were
- 39:39not safety measures in place.
- 39:41And that could be why Lazar died.
- 39:46The cuts were being made to
- 39:47the games prior to the sale.
- 39:50Greg made cuts to the games
- 39:52after the two thousand eighteen season.
- 39:54Those cuts were happening
- 39:56well before the sale.
- 39:58So that's one thing.
- 40:03I'm not going to dive into all this stuff.
- 40:07Just be careful what you're saying, dude.
- 40:10And just because there's
- 40:11low-hanging fruit out there
- 40:12to hit doesn't mean you have to.
- 40:20Please don't, as a matter of fact.
- 40:24And I'm saying this,
- 40:25and he's getting more views than I am,
- 40:27and he's getting more clicks than I am,
- 40:30and I love the dude.
- 40:31Like, as a person, he is a good dude.
- 40:34A hundred percent.
- 40:36Super good dude.
- 40:37But, dude, man.
- 40:40I'm just burning up going,
- 40:41that's not how it happened.
- 40:44He's one of those people that's at, like,
- 40:46a thirteen,
- 40:47and I need you to turn it down to, like,
- 40:49a six.
- 40:51Just dial it back a little bit, brother.
- 40:53Like, you're not...
- 40:54You're not doing terribly,
- 40:55but I just need you to pull
- 40:56it in a little bit so that
- 40:58you have some accuracy, for one.
- 41:01And yes, thank you, Judy Reed.
- 41:03This is the other piece that
- 41:05he said that was getting me fired up,
- 41:06is that the games don't make any money.
- 41:13I have heard from very high
- 41:14sources that the games
- 41:16actually make money.
- 41:19The open makes money.
- 41:22It's that stuff in the
- 41:23middle that they have not figured out.
- 41:25Yeah.
- 41:29That middle stuff loses money.
- 41:33And at a rate that hurts the
- 41:35bottom line for the whole structure.
- 41:36The whole structure, yeah.
- 41:37I can see that.
- 41:42And I believe that CrossFit has never,
- 41:45ever reached their full
- 41:46potential of revenue streams.
- 41:50They never run commercials
- 41:53during any broadcast.
- 41:54They don't do any kind of jersey sales.
- 42:00The only kind of merch sales
- 42:02CrossFit does are shirts
- 42:04that say CrossFit.
- 42:11That's it.
- 42:12Full stop.
- 42:13Right.
- 42:15The only time I've ever seen
- 42:16ads for CrossFit is during
- 42:19a CrossFit event.
- 42:22you're barking up the wrong tree.
- 42:24The people that are watching
- 42:25that are well aware of
- 42:26what's going on and well
- 42:28aware of how to get there.
- 42:30Like you need to,
- 42:31if you're going to spend
- 42:32some money on advertising stuff, cool,
- 42:34but let's put it somewhere
- 42:36that it makes sense.
- 42:39Or how about this?
- 42:41Actually sell ad space
- 42:43during your streams.
- 42:45Maybe a good idea.
- 42:46That's a revenue stream that
- 42:47they have not even tapped into.
- 42:50And who gives a shit who buys it?
- 42:53Savon did.
- 42:54Savon sold ad revenue during
- 42:57both NorCal and Syndicate.
- 43:00You know who else did?
- 43:00Mayhem did.
- 43:01Mayhem did.
- 43:02Mayhem did during their broadcast.
- 43:04They sold ad space during
- 43:05their broadcasts.
- 43:06Rory was doing live commercials.
- 43:08From Vendor Village.
- 43:10Like, think about how cool that is.
- 43:13Yeah.
- 43:13You have this massive vendor
- 43:14village at the games.
- 43:16You could have somebody,
- 43:17a correspondent out there,
- 43:19and highlight your vendors
- 43:22during that time.
- 43:23Hey, we're at,
- 43:25this is Travis Bellinghausen
- 43:26with Vindicate.
- 43:27We're at his booth right now.
- 43:30Right.
- 43:30Increase the value of that
- 43:32booth for him by promoting
- 43:35what he's doing out there.
- 43:37Knowing Travis,
- 43:39kind of just using him as
- 43:39an example as the first
- 43:40person that comes to mind,
- 43:41he would be way more likely
- 43:43to spend out the ridiculous
- 43:45amount of money they want
- 43:46for a booth spot there if
- 43:48something like that would happen.
- 43:50Right.
- 43:51And then the value of the booth goes up,
- 43:54which means more revenue stream for you,
- 43:56CrossFit.
- 43:59how it all works it's weird
- 44:01how that works here's the
- 44:04best part about this scott
- 44:05is that you got a dumb coon
- 44:08ass and uh a former d-one
- 44:11swimmer that figured that
- 44:13like we we can figure that
- 44:15out yeah I know it's not
- 44:17popular today but I do have
- 44:18an mba you know oh excuse
- 44:20me mr mba I don't
- 44:24But I never really worked in marketing or,
- 44:26I mean,
- 44:27I was always a stats guy and a
- 44:30teacher basically.
- 44:33But either way,
- 44:35what I'm getting at is that
- 44:35two dudes on a podcast on a
- 44:38Tuesday morning can put our
- 44:42heads together and go, Hey, you know,
- 44:43would be a really good idea.
- 44:45And it wouldn't, it doesn't,
- 44:47what would it cost?
- 44:48Bring the camera out there.
- 44:52Like they can, wherever they're,
- 44:53wherever they're broadcasting from,
- 44:54they're broadcasting.
- 44:54Not only that, make it part of a package.
- 44:57Like if you get a vendor booth,
- 45:00you also get ad space during the stream.
- 45:03Yep.
- 45:04You can get this package
- 45:05where you get that.
- 45:05You can get this package without that.
- 45:10Things like that.
- 45:10There's so many creative ways to do that,
- 45:13that they just are missing
- 45:15out on completely.
- 45:17One thing about like,
- 45:19And this game,
- 45:20this is not because of my education.
- 45:22This is because I watch sports.
- 45:26Yeah.
- 45:29Right?
- 45:29I watch other sports.
- 45:30Look at that.
- 45:32Lito becoming a new member.
- 45:34Woo!
- 45:36Thank you so much, Lito.
- 45:37We appreciate that so much.
- 45:40That helps us maintain the
- 45:43software to run this thing.
- 45:45Thank you so much for doing that.
- 45:48You'll become a great,
- 45:49great person in the chat,
- 45:51and I'm so happy to have you as a member.
- 45:53But anyway,
- 45:55when people say that it can't make money,
- 45:58I think that it has not
- 45:59tried to make money.
- 46:01No.
- 46:02There are so many ways for
- 46:05revenue streams.
- 46:08So many ways that we haven't
- 46:10even explored.
- 46:12But Grant, so I don't know.
- 46:16keep doing you, keep doing you.
- 46:18And I'll just,
- 46:19I'll just take deep breaths more.
- 46:22I don't know.
- 46:23God, God love that dude.
- 46:25The one thing you do not
- 46:26have to tell him is for him
- 46:27to keep doing him.
- 46:29He going to keep that up no matter what.
- 46:31Yeah.
- 46:34Uh, I was going to talk about, um,
- 46:37let's finish on this boys
- 46:38interrupted last night.
- 46:41I got,
- 46:41I got made five minutes before I
- 46:42fell asleep.
- 46:43So you're going to have to,
- 46:43you have to fill me in.
- 46:45Very entertaining as always.
- 46:47Those guys have just hit it
- 46:50out of the park.
- 46:50Yep.
- 46:52I was reminded of,
- 46:54I've had a rough year with
- 46:56some agents in the space and they are,
- 47:00they came at me a little bit,
- 47:02but I've always had a good
- 47:03relationship with them.
- 47:04So I was really surprised
- 47:05that that happened to me this year.
- 47:07What last they did is
- 47:08reminded me why I like
- 47:10those two dudes and,
- 47:12I do think that they may be
- 47:14barking up the wrong tree
- 47:15at different things.
- 47:16But as a whole, like, I like them.
- 47:20They've both been on my show.
- 47:23But I loved.
- 47:28They are essential for this sport.
- 47:30Oh, absolutely.
- 47:31Right.
- 47:32And it's like Dallin said,
- 47:34his first sponsor was ESC Sounds.
- 47:38And the owner of ESC Sounds says,
- 47:39I didn't screw you over,
- 47:41but somebody's gonna,
- 47:42you need to get protected.
- 47:46Right.
- 47:47And that's when he hooked up
- 47:48with Cooper Marsh.
- 47:50Cooper Marsh is the,
- 47:52O'Keefe was probably the
- 47:53first agent that I talked to.
- 47:55And then Cooper Marsh was the next.
- 47:56Right.
- 47:58When I was trying to grow this thing,
- 47:59I reached out to them and said, hey,
- 48:02I just am trying to figure
- 48:03out a way to grow.
- 48:05And both of them offered to
- 48:06help me and mentor me.
- 48:10And that is invaluable that
- 48:12that happened early on.
- 48:15And I really appreciate them for that.
- 48:19And Daniel has been nothing
- 48:20but cool to me until the
- 48:22whole Brooke Wells thing
- 48:23blew up this year.
- 48:25And then I made one joke on
- 48:26Instagram and everybody
- 48:29lost their damn mind.
- 48:32But I truly, truly love those guys.
- 48:37And they are there for a purpose.
- 48:38And I think last night
- 48:39showed why they're there.
- 48:41And I liked that they had that on there.
- 48:45Doesn't mean I agree with
- 48:46everything they do.
- 48:50Not by a long shot.
- 48:50Put your story on Hopper's
- 48:51hair and just kind of move from there.
- 48:55But I did like how they were
- 48:57stealing athletes from each other,
- 48:59and they talked about that story.
- 49:03And they talked about the
- 49:03recruitment of Hopper and
- 49:05why Cooper lost him initially.
- 49:09And they said, well,
- 49:10how would you approach Jason now?
- 49:12And he said, well,
- 49:13I would just go over and
- 49:14talk to Dallin until he got
- 49:15so jealous he'd come over and talk to me.
- 49:20That's accurate.
- 49:25That's accurate.
- 49:26That's fantastic.
- 49:28So that was cool.
- 49:30And again,
- 49:31those dudes are so freaking entertaining.
- 49:33The three of them.
- 49:36I don't know.
- 49:38It's the matches I didn't
- 49:39think would ever happen.
- 49:41Like I could see Dallin and Jason.
- 49:42I did not see Justin joining that group.
- 49:45That's why every single time,
- 49:48every single time I see the
- 49:50three of them together, like you said,
- 49:52the two make sense.
- 49:54And then there's Justin.
- 49:55But all together, it actually works,
- 49:59which is, I'm glad.
- 50:02I'm glad.
- 50:03I'm happy for him.
- 50:05And we said last week, like,
- 50:06they're the most successful
- 50:08athlete podcast other than
- 50:09maybe the Rich Froning podcast.
- 50:11they're on episode twenty
- 50:12six according uh I do
- 50:14remember that from the
- 50:15right whenever uh I said I
- 50:17made it that's longer than
- 50:19the daughters made it
- 50:20that's slowing a lot of
- 50:24people that's right
- 50:28Jay Birch I've been friends
- 50:29with Cooper since twenty
- 50:30nineteen he really is a
- 50:32good dude and he has been
- 50:34nothing but supportive of
- 50:36this show all along like I
- 50:40couldn't when you first
- 50:41start this thing trying to
- 50:42get a hold of athletes in
- 50:43DM's that you are not
- 50:45friends with is very very
- 50:46hard by getting in touch
- 50:49with Cooper Cooper gave me
- 50:50phone numbers and that got
- 50:53me started which was tremendous
- 50:59Can't ask for more of that.
- 51:03Sprague would fit right in.
- 51:04He's been on the show, I think, twice,
- 51:06right?
- 51:07Two or three times.
- 51:09Yeah.
- 51:10Jack Farlow's the man, though.
- 51:13The Jack Farlow episode,
- 51:15it may be my favorite of all time.
- 51:18I might have to go back and get caught up.
- 51:19There's so much stuff, dude.
- 51:22Jack Farlow is harder than all of us,
- 51:25is what I learned.
- 51:26That I believe.
- 51:27Yeah.
- 51:30I'm good, like, during the day catching up,
- 51:34you know,
- 51:35or being on live shows when I've
- 51:37been from my computer most
- 51:38of the time anyway.
- 51:39But, like, once I get home, I turn off.
- 51:44Like, I get home, I eat.
- 51:44I don't watch anything from
- 51:46the end of work until I go to bed.
- 51:49Yeah.
- 51:50And then I put stuff on as
- 51:51I'm getting ready for bed
- 51:53and then as I'm going to sleep.
- 51:56That's why I made about half of...
- 51:59I finished Castro's weekend
- 52:01review this morning while I
- 52:02was eating breakfast.
- 52:03Uh, and I mean, aside from that,
- 52:07like I got a couple of things to say,
- 52:08like it really,
- 52:12somebody asked him what
- 52:13events he was excited about.
- 52:14And he was like, uh, one, three, four,
- 52:17five, seven.
- 52:18He said a lot of them.
- 52:21Aside from that, like he didn't,
- 52:22it really wasn't a whole heck of a lot.
- 52:24Uh,
- 52:25But I mean,
- 52:26I guess that's going to be like that.
- 52:27He's just going back on his week.
- 52:29Well,
- 52:30Bassett has some horrible travel stories,
- 52:32but.
- 52:37Yeah, I miss a lot of people.
- 52:39Well,
- 52:40we are way past our forty five
- 52:41minutes and I'm late to get
- 52:43back from lunch,
- 52:45so I need to get back to work.
- 52:46I have a one thirty meeting
- 52:48with that guys.
- 52:50You knuckleheads get back to work to.
- 52:52We will see you next time.
- 52:54Tomorrow, Pete Shaw talking about Metfix.
- 52:58If you have not seen the
- 53:00Hiller Instagram reel,
- 53:03that was a lot of what I
- 53:04had in my notes to talk to
- 53:05him about tomorrow.
- 53:08And I'm anxious to get some
- 53:09answers on some of that stuff.
- 53:12But kind of bummed that Hiller blew my
- 53:18To be fair, dude,
- 53:19Hill has been on top of that.
- 53:20Hill has been like a dog on
- 53:21a bone on top of that since
- 53:23they started putting out,
- 53:24especially his hair recently,
- 53:25they started putting out.
- 53:27He's been all over it.
- 53:29Yeah.
- 53:31So Pete Shaw tomorrow from MedFix.
- 53:34He is the head of education for MedFix.
- 53:36We're going to have him on
- 53:37at noon during our lunch hour tomorrow.
- 53:40So,
- 53:40fifteen minutes early lunch hour
- 53:42tomorrow.
- 53:43And then we'll talk to him
- 53:44and then we'll be back
- 53:46regular lunch hour on Thursday.
- 53:48Back at it with all the fun stuff.
- 53:50With that,
- 53:51we'll see everybody next time on
- 53:54Lunch with the Clydesdale.
