- 0:06SPEAKER_01: Better I think you should present that.
- 0:07SPEAKER_02: No, no, that's wrong.
- 0:08SPEAKER_02: That's wrong.
- 0:09SPEAKER_02: Someone pulled me up saying, Why does he all start the episode with James Phillips?
- 0:16SPEAKER_02: Right, outside the school.
- 0:18SPEAKER_02: Why does he all start the episode with right?
- 0:20SPEAKER_01: James, why'd you get all the names wrong?
- 0:23SPEAKER_01: Come on, don't be like that.
- 0:25SPEAKER_01: We have to talk about James anyway.
- 0:26SPEAKER_01: They've had they've had um you've had missiles, haven't you?
- 0:29SPEAKER_01: About the booing on Saturday.
- 0:31SPEAKER_01: We'll get to it.
- 0:31SPEAKER_01: We'll get to it.
- 0:32SPEAKER_01: Anyway, first what everyone wants to know is how our day out was.
- 0:38SPEAKER_01: Good.
- 0:39SPEAKER_01: Still tired now.
- 0:40SPEAKER_01: Are you?
- 0:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I can't drink anymore.
- 0:42SPEAKER_01: I feel alright.
- 0:43SPEAKER_01: I've got ratings here.
- 0:46SPEAKER_01: Go on then.
- 0:46SPEAKER_01: We've got a bunny pet with you.
- 0:48SPEAKER_01: Alright, go on.
- 0:48SPEAKER_01: Go on you first, then we'll go.
- 0:49SPEAKER_01: Okay, I'll go first.
- 0:50SPEAKER_01: Alright.
- 0:51SPEAKER_01: Lummy seven had some big decisions to make, took the armband, made them at the right time.
- 0:56SPEAKER_01: Good.
- 0:57SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 0:57SPEAKER_01: I'll reduce that to a five.
- 1:00SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 1:01SPEAKER_01: Because about two hours after we got to Newcastle, you're not about to come back to Carlisle.
- 1:04SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 1:04SPEAKER_01: Was he or not?
- 1:05SPEAKER_01: 100%.
- 1:06SPEAKER_01: I'd have hurt you at halftime.
- 1:07SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 1:07SPEAKER_01: This is the crack.
- 1:08SPEAKER_01: I took the armband off you.
- 1:09SPEAKER_01: To be honest, you were killed by bets.
- 1:11SPEAKER_01: But anyway, I had it up, massively up.
- 1:14SPEAKER_01: The reason the viewers will probably agree with me, right?
- 1:17SPEAKER_01: It's either sit on a train hating your life at half eight, not together, not stay until half eight.
- 1:23SPEAKER_01: Sunday night, remember, not Saturday night.
- 1:24SPEAKER_01: On a train home, all split up.
- 1:26SPEAKER_01: I've been on these trains, do it regularly.
- 1:29SPEAKER_01: Absolutely choker, split up, one asleep, one drying his armpits.
- 1:35SPEAKER_01: That's another story.
- 1:38SPEAKER_01: Unless we go a little bit earlier, get home together, sit on the train, have a drink, bit of crack, and then have a couple in Carlisle, which we done.
- 1:44SPEAKER_01: So was the problem?
- 1:46SPEAKER_02: Just we thought it was a bit early, that's all, but you've explained yourself quite well.
- 1:50SPEAKER_01: What time did we get there?
- 1:50SPEAKER_01: We got the 10 o'clock train.
- 1:52SPEAKER_01: We got there about half 11, quarter to 12.
- 1:54SPEAKER_01: Half one.
- 1:55SPEAKER_01: About half twelve.
- 1:55SPEAKER_01: I seen you checking the trains back at Calio.
- 1:58SPEAKER_01: I was half twelve.
- 1:59SPEAKER_01: I was checking your bets.
- 2:00SPEAKER_01: I know I'm otherwells.
- 2:02SPEAKER_01: No my bits.
- 2:03SPEAKER_01: Anyway, right.
- 2:04SPEAKER_01: Lummy seven.
- 2:05SPEAKER_01: Some big decisions needed to be made, and I made them.
- 2:07SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 2:07SPEAKER_01: Fair enough.
- 2:09SPEAKER_01: You made decisions, but they'll they were bad.
- 2:11SPEAKER_01: Pro decisions.
- 2:12SPEAKER_01: Skip.
- 2:13SPEAKER_01: Started well.
- 2:15SPEAKER_01: Lost his head for a bit due to a uh got a bit wet.
- 2:18SPEAKER_01: An arm pat armpit situation, but redeemed himself.
- 2:22SPEAKER_01: Came back.
- 2:22SPEAKER_01: Seven.
- 2:23SPEAKER_01: Cheers.
- 2:24SPEAKER_01: Adam, you've got to give people credit who come and don't drink and put up with it.
- 2:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 2:28SPEAKER_01: Nine.
- 2:28SPEAKER_01: Eight.
- 2:29SPEAKER_01: Point five.
- 2:30SPEAKER_01: And man of the match, the ball of energy.
- 2:33SPEAKER_01: Jesus Christ.
- 2:34SPEAKER_01: Bit of a shock, I would say.
- 2:37SPEAKER_01: I just seen him get up.
- 2:38SPEAKER_01: You know when I'm leaving out.
- 2:40SPEAKER_01: Get out your car and your missus must have sent to Dom because Dom had the leash and went bang.
- 2:43SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 2:44SPEAKER_01: And off he went.
- 2:44SPEAKER_01: Sprinted over, and he's just like that.
- 2:45SPEAKER_01: I was like a greyhound when I didn't do that trap.
- 2:47SPEAKER_01: See the wee rabbit comes up there.
- 2:49SPEAKER_01: Mind him up and then off he goes.
- 2:51SPEAKER_01: Never stopped.
- 2:52SPEAKER_01: So I, a man of the match from Dylan, still wanted to go when we got home.
- 2:55SPEAKER_01: Very good company, by the way.
- 2:56SPEAKER_01: I appreciate that.
- 2:57SPEAKER_01: It was good.
- 2:57SPEAKER_01: I enjoyed it.
- 2:58SPEAKER_01: Just with tipping on the skip, yeah.
- 3:00SPEAKER_01: Had a problem with his um armpit.
- 3:03SPEAKER_01: Not the smell, just no, no, I smelled it.
- 3:07SPEAKER_01: It was the colour of the t-shirt, wasn't it?
- 3:09SPEAKER_01: Early doors, I was a bit worried about it.
- 3:10SPEAKER_01: But it was like a salmon y kind of colour in your thinking all day session.
- 3:16SPEAKER_01: It went really quiet off the train.
- 3:17SPEAKER_01: It went a little bit.
- 3:18SPEAKER_01: I went, I wonder what's wrong with him here, but I couldn't see what was wrong because also you were like chucking darts.
- 3:24SPEAKER_01: Like I was wondering why those people like call him Jordan Pickford.
- 3:27SPEAKER_01: He was like walking about like with the V the V T X.
- 3:30SPEAKER_01: Oh no.
- 3:31SPEAKER_01: Sorry though.
- 3:32SPEAKER_01: And then I got I've got a question, yeah?
- 3:34SPEAKER_01: Which from Grant Davidson.

- 4:10SPEAKER_01: Frozzles, aren't they?
- 4:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but like a bit of a tougher one.
- 4:14SPEAKER_01: Is it like the wee like the Indian bombay kind of mix thing there?
- 4:18SPEAKER_01: No, bacon fries still then.
- 4:20SPEAKER_01: Bacon fries.

- 4:32SPEAKER_01: Scram was good.
- 4:33SPEAKER_01: The toffle fries were tremendous, weren't they?
- 4:35SPEAKER_01: And the made Dylan's cocktail.
- 4:37SPEAKER_01: Proper barman.

- 4:39SPEAKER_01: It said it was good.
- 4:39SPEAKER_01: You enjoyed it, didn't you?
- 4:42SPEAKER_01: It started a bit rough for me.
- 4:43SPEAKER_01: I thought, Jesus, but then after a few, I thought decentness.
- 4:47SPEAKER_01: Man of taste the barman said, didn't he?
- 4:48SPEAKER_01: He's like, good news.
- 4:50SPEAKER_01: You enjoyed it, didn't you?

- 7:51SPEAKER_01: Just more tired than me.
- 7:52SPEAKER_01: I'm I'm good for enough enough to drink like a drink.
- 7:55SPEAKER_01: I was up in the gym, maybe nine o'clock now.
- 7:58SPEAKER_01: See, I'm I I don't mind during the day drinking, like as long as I can get a decent sleep.
- 8:02SPEAKER_01: I was probably in bed through about half nine, ten o'clock and then get a decent sleep.
- 8:07SPEAKER_01: I got food poison, I'm not gonna tell you where from.
- 8:09SPEAKER_01: Don't say where from.
- 8:10SPEAKER_01: Well, I did tell you not to get what you got.
- 8:13SPEAKER_01: Aye, I know.
- 8:14SPEAKER_01: Because we up all night like that.
- 8:15SPEAKER_01: It's not good.
- 8:16SPEAKER_01: Uh about a two till six hit.
- 8:18SPEAKER_01: Oh, but at least it's out of us.
- 8:20SPEAKER_01: I suppose I.
- 8:21SPEAKER_01: So on Hangover Careers, we've had an email in from Phil Little from Appleby.
- 8:27SPEAKER_01: Hi fellas, love the pod.
- 8:29SPEAKER_01: Great listen every week, and the crack makes me feel like we are part of the team.
- 8:33SPEAKER_01: Keep up the good work.
- 8:34SPEAKER_01: Love that.
- 8:34SPEAKER_01: Was shocked to see Lummy slumming it in the paddock at the Worthing game on Saturday.
- 8:38SPEAKER_01: This may be a regular thing, but with all the stories of hospitality, I didn't expect to see you in there.
- 8:43SPEAKER_01: Well, I was in the stand, my young'un got off on 50 minutes, and then I went in the uh paddock.
- 8:48SPEAKER_01: Stone Island jacket on.
- 8:49SPEAKER_01: Stone Island jacket on.
- 8:50SPEAKER_01: Just wanted to add a different angle to the curry debate.
- 8:53SPEAKER_01: Me and my missus love and Indian takeaway and pop a doms are a massive part of this.
- 8:58SPEAKER_01: But we always have to have the we always have these after the main dish.
- 9:03SPEAKER_01: Is this weird?
- 9:04SPEAKER_01: Or would any of you have them afterwards?
- 9:07SPEAKER_01: After a recent curry, my mates give us a bit of stick for this.
- 9:09SPEAKER_01: I never considered it odd at all.
- 9:11SPEAKER_01: Look forward to hearing your thoughts.
- 9:13SPEAKER_01: Again, Phil Little, Appleby.
- 9:15SPEAKER_01: Your popadoms are right at the start.
- 9:17SPEAKER_01: You think well after your cutting?
- 9:19SPEAKER_01: After his mane?
- 9:20SPEAKER_01: No, see, well, I'm finished my mane, I can't move.
- 9:23SPEAKER_01: Do you not use do you not keep the pop-in for your mane as well?
- 9:25SPEAKER_01: Pile it on like a prone cracker in the Chinese.
- 9:28SPEAKER_01: You can't wait, mate.
- 9:29SPEAKER_01: I've got to get rid of that.
- 9:29SPEAKER_01: Nah, I'll get a nan bread, though.
- 9:30SPEAKER_01: I always get like some sort of nan.
- 9:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but you're in the yeah, so I have an Indian at home as well, though, so I'll I'll always keep the pop-man's put some bait on.
- 9:38SPEAKER_02: I've never known them to be kept for afterwards, like with the the dips and all that.
- 9:43SPEAKER_02: That's backwards, isn't it?
- 9:44SPEAKER_02: Well, you tell Phil.
- 9:45SPEAKER_01: No, sorry, Phil is If we try the Indian desserts, uh is it Jura or Jamon or something?
- 9:51SPEAKER_01: Do we sweet kind of dough?
- 9:53SPEAKER_01: Oh, I can't remember.
- 9:54SPEAKER_01: I don't know if I'm pronouncing it properly.
- 9:56SPEAKER_01: Jamon or something.
- 9:57SPEAKER_01: They call it pronounce a little right or something.
- 9:58SPEAKER_01: Little kind of sticky setupy dough bows.
- 10:00SPEAKER_01: Absolutely not.
- 10:01SPEAKER_01: Tremendous.
- 10:02SPEAKER_01: Try them.
- 10:02SPEAKER_01: Tremendous.
- 10:04SPEAKER_01: Shall we have a quick recap?
- 10:05SPEAKER_01: Colin's episode.
- 10:06SPEAKER_01: Colin was good, yeah.
- 10:07SPEAKER_01: Colin McManiman last week.
- 10:09SPEAKER_01: She rap man.
- 10:12SPEAKER_02: Very different from well, he lets he lets loose on his um podcast we just, doesn't he?
- 10:16SPEAKER_02: That's the real Sheera Aren't you what he used to be really like reserved and serious, didn't he?
- 10:21SPEAKER_01: But when there's no cameras out.
- 10:22SPEAKER_01: He was doing an England game about eight years ago, and it was getting waterlogged, so that about half an hour in the um studio, and I reckon that was he showed himself because he was very boring at the start when he's done the commentary.
- 10:35SPEAKER_01: But what's the word when you've someone's got like it's no easy aura, that's it.
- 10:39SPEAKER_01: The aura is see that like live stuff though, it's no easy.
- 10:42SPEAKER_01: I've done it once for Sky Sports, and it was Aberdeen Rangers when I was up at Aberdeen.
- 10:46SPEAKER_01: What colour time is the other?
- 10:49SPEAKER_01: Er I went a week, what is it?
- 10:50SPEAKER_01: Like a wee Reese kind of cream cock.
- 10:52SPEAKER_01: So it's not even if it's coming out, no, I had a two shot on underneath this over the top because it was quite cold.
- 10:56SPEAKER_01: I think it was about general.
- 11:01SPEAKER_01: See all the production before it and stuff, and it was Ailey Barber who's a brilliant presenter.
- 11:05SPEAKER_01: But see what she's having a conversation with you, and the guy's like you can hear speaking in her ear and stuff, and she's talking to him, talking to you, and it's like, right, five, four, and you're nervous, do you know what I mean?
- 11:17SPEAKER_01: Like you're thinking I'm gonna stutter and stuff.
- 11:19SPEAKER_01: Um Big Chris Boyd stuck it on me as well, so he did first couple minutes, stitch me eye.
- 11:24SPEAKER_01: Because see, before it you get like this pack, and it's like all the information on everything, so you can read through it.
- 11:29SPEAKER_01: They don't, and they've done it a million times.
- 11:31SPEAKER_01: But I was like, right, get some stats.
- 11:32SPEAKER_01: What like bookings, eyes, how many?
- 11:34SPEAKER_01: I wouldn't have had say seven clean sheets in the last ten days.
- 11:40SPEAKER_01: Commentators can do it themselves, but there's people employed now who send them the packs, so different agencies, and you just get this pack with like the I would rather have set out like as a picture, yeah, or you can get it where you can read it, but it's all there for you now.
- 11:53SPEAKER_01: That's what they had.
- 11:54SPEAKER_01: So I had a way you look at like Aberdeen's last clean sheets, blah blah blah.
- 11:57SPEAKER_01: But anyway, we start and I had them with a stat being like they'd be hoping to add to like the seven clean sheets in ten games, and then Chris Boyton was like, Somebody's been on the stat man or something like that.
- 12:09SPEAKER_01: And I had a da a proper dab on.
- 12:11SPEAKER_01: I was like, you know, it's my first time on TV early.
- 12:14SPEAKER_01: I remember my first game for Radio Cumbria.
- 12:16SPEAKER_01: I was dagging them at home, and I went absolutely notepad the lot.
- 12:20SPEAKER_01: Realised quite quickly.
- 12:21SPEAKER_01: Never used that, did you?
- 12:22SPEAKER_02: And my mine was the first game the season for Garab, Mansfield at home.
- 12:26SPEAKER_02: Don't know, you probably about half an hour too far for you.
- 12:29SPEAKER_02: And uh about I was all right, and then you know, when five to three, that music comes up and you're about to start shit myself.
- 12:35SPEAKER_02: Did you aye?
- 12:36SPEAKER_01: You overthink it in your head, and I suppose the more experience, the more relax you coming out, and your personality comes out.
- 12:40SPEAKER_01: But once you do a few years, you start thinking about what you're gonna say, and then you forget what your chain of thought and nightmare.
- 12:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah, um, so yeah, Gretna money was on.
- 12:49SPEAKER_01: We learn more about Gretna all the time, don't we?
- 12:52SPEAKER_01: At that time when it went pop.
- 12:54SPEAKER_01: Um, yeah, Sheera.
- 12:55SPEAKER_01: So he ran the club.
- 12:57SPEAKER_01: Mick Wadsworth.
- 12:58SPEAKER_01: Colin had a manager in Mick Wadsworth who loved him and just took him everywhere.
- 13:01SPEAKER_01: That's what you need.
- 13:01SPEAKER_01: That's like a warnup with like Paddy Kenny, isn't it?
- 13:04SPEAKER_01: Not only that, though, he could score goals, Colin.
- 13:06SPEAKER_01: He couldn't have score.
- 13:07SPEAKER_01: That was obviously I didn't realise how many goals and appearances as well.
- 13:10SPEAKER_01: Like goal record.
- 13:11SPEAKER_01: Ah, I know his goal rec was like one and two immediately.
- 13:14SPEAKER_01: Um I like that though when he said no, it's 255.
- 13:16SPEAKER_01: I know they all all them lads know how many they've scored, don't they?
- 13:19SPEAKER_01: The um leading on from Newcastle, we've had a question from my mate in Killimath, Greg Merrilles.
- 13:25SPEAKER_01: Perhaps one for your podcast.
- 13:26SPEAKER_01: If you or the other lads have experienced similar to Newcastle United when players leave, how do the players who are still there see this?
- 13:34SPEAKER_01: How do they get the new players integrated and all that stuff?
- 13:37SPEAKER_01: I see Sunland signed 10-11 players last season and it worked for them.
- 13:41SPEAKER_01: So Newcastle are now losing the big hitters, aren't they?
- 13:46SPEAKER_01: I mean, if you're a Joe Linton who had just as good a season as them, are you thinking, right, we're in for a scrap this season, or do you also want to jump ship?
- 13:56SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 13:58SPEAKER_02: I mean, he had a bad start, didn't he?
- 13:59SPEAKER_02: Because he comes a centre floor, didn't he?
- 14:01SPEAKER_02: And he was like, everyone was hammering him.
- 14:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah, he sort of played centre, didn't he?
- 14:04SPEAKER_02: He was class, wasn't he?
- 14:05SPEAKER_01: But I don't know what to do.
- 14:06SPEAKER_01: What if Lewis Hall now?
- 14:07SPEAKER_01: Lewis Hall suddenly had this season of his life would be.
- 14:11SPEAKER_01: Well, he's young, so it's his first season.
- 14:13SPEAKER_01: Do you think, right, I'll do another season, gain all this experience, then get me move, or do you jump ship right now?
- 14:19SPEAKER_01: Because it's a short career.
- 14:20SPEAKER_01: Do you think they'll struggle this season?
- 14:21SPEAKER_01: I don't think they'll struggle.
- 14:22SPEAKER_01: I just think they'll be.
- 14:24SPEAKER_01: I don't think they'll be up the top.
- 14:25SPEAKER_01: No, no, I think it'll be mid-tableish and yeah, I think no struggle.
- 14:28SPEAKER_01: What do you think about it?
- 14:29SPEAKER_01: But like mid-table's probably like struggle.
- 14:31SPEAKER_01: Like for me, like Newcastle and the money and stuff like that.
- 14:33SPEAKER_01: It's gonna tell you won't struggle.
- 14:36SPEAKER_01: The manager when he's out on the piss in the big market.
- 14:38SPEAKER_01: Well, he's got a bit of a red.
- 14:42SPEAKER_01: Name him and the BI for us.
- 14:44SPEAKER_01: How would they manage to get someone who loves ourselves more than is it Tindall?
- 14:47SPEAKER_01: Tindal ar like, and he's walking out and the shot he's got in tight, and it was hard and Tindle's probably thought you'll never see another like me.
- 14:57SPEAKER_01: Um for me, um, well, Peter Reed, we finished seventh twice, and then it was mostly English lads, it was like Stefan Schwartz, Stan Varger, I played for just a couple of foreigners, but the game was changing.
- 15:10SPEAKER_01: But he signed instead of signing a couple of foreigners for the first team, he signed like 10, 11 youngsters.
- 15:17SPEAKER_01: So suddenly our dressing room was filled by 45 people, and all these kids who weren't playing, but they had to play in the reserves, and people like me, John Osta Thurwell, who were next in line to play, we sometimes sat out the reserves, but then would be the ones in the squad.
- 15:31SPEAKER_01: So everyone's just disillusioned.
- 15:33SPEAKER_01: And the like the chemistry and the character just went.
- 15:36SPEAKER_01: And Paul Butler, Alex Ray, Nikki Somerby, they all left Chris Macon, and it just completely changed, and then the season after that's when they got the relegation.
- 15:44SPEAKER_01: You can get too many at once, can you not think?
- 15:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 15:47SPEAKER_01: I know I think the clubs like why when you're kind of doing something and you're getting success and you're building, yeah, why just rip it up and kind of go the opposite direction?
- 15:56SPEAKER_01: Do you know what I mean?
- 15:57SPEAKER_01: Like Arsenal, like they've they've built, they've built and eventually won the Premier League.
- 16:01SPEAKER_01: Like they could have ripped it up a year and a half ago and went a totally different direction, and it could have went tits up base.
- 16:06SPEAKER_01: John Ward done the right thing when he came into Carlisle because we were doing alright, so you just let it go, and then we just missed out on promotion, and then instead of letting it go and adding one or two, he just completely changed it all.
- 16:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and then the dynamic was just again.
- 16:20SPEAKER_01: You're like trying to get six, seven players in a new team, and you're like, Yeah, and then Greg, when Greg was manager the season that season, because John Wall got sacked, I was injured, so I just kept popping in.
- 16:29SPEAKER_01: But there'd be three new sign-ins every two weeks, and the clicks were just like huge.
- 16:34SPEAKER_01: So John Ward's new sign-ins weren't playing because Greg reverted back, yeah, yeah.
- 16:38SPEAKER_01: And then you've got two dressing rooms.
- 16:40SPEAKER_01: That was when happened, like my time at Kaleo, basically.
- 16:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah, three different managers, three different kind of squad of players.
- 16:47SPEAKER_01: Not toxic, but you can just feel that it was not right.
- 16:50SPEAKER_01: That's how you I could name you like his group, his group, do you know what I mean?
- 16:54SPEAKER_01: Each manager's group and try to get them all to be as one.
- 16:58SPEAKER_01: Aye, it's as different.
- 16:59SPEAKER_01: And then obviously you're not really putting out in the pitch either.
- 17:02SPEAKER_01: Do you know what I mean?
- 17:02SPEAKER_01: What makes it even worse?
- 17:03SPEAKER_01: But then Sundar do it last year and it does well.
- 17:05SPEAKER_01: As well, it's sick and sick.
- 17:06SPEAKER_01: It's how you start, isn't it?
- 17:07SPEAKER_01: Rangers have signed, like I know we're jumping on to Scotland, but Rangers have signed like nine players, I think.
- 17:12SPEAKER_01: And about three or four of them are starting, the rest are on the bench and not involved, and they're they're struggling, they're not win a game in the first three games.
- 17:20SPEAKER_01: But if they won their first game against Dundee United and then didn't concede later on, whatever do you mean you've got a lot of start?
- 17:26SPEAKER_01: So uh it's just results as well, isn't it?
- 17:28SPEAKER_01: It kind of determines how much a success it is.
- 17:31SPEAKER_01: Episode 28 off we got.
- 17:56SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 17:57SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 17:57SPEAKER_01: People would have looked at our Insta today, the raffle regarding the news about your mum, Skip.
- 18:04SPEAKER_01: We're gonna do a raffle and we're gonna raise money.
- 18:07SPEAKER_01: Five pound a ticket.
- 18:08SPEAKER_01: The link is in our it's on our page, but we'll keep posting it.
- 18:12SPEAKER_01: Five pound a raffle ticket.
- 18:13SPEAKER_01: At the minute, our and the the the donations will go to Alzheimer's and dementia charities round the doors.
- 18:20SPEAKER_01: Can I just uh yes because I don't want to keep banging on about it.
- 18:24SPEAKER_02: I mean I know everyone knows about it now and what's what's been done like and what people have donated and offered and things like that, like how much we appreciate it, not just me as a family, so it's a massive thank you on behalf of me and my family.
- 18:35SPEAKER_02: But like I say, I don't want to just keep banging on it week after week.
- 18:38SPEAKER_02: But what people have done and the the the messages I've had of people about it is yeah, it's uh fantastic.
- 18:45SPEAKER_01: Dino, Kit Manoral, yeah, give us the shirt on Saturday or signed from the squad.
- 18:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we've got the 2016-17 framed third strip, which no one's really got, and then we've been hit with another one today.
- 18:59SPEAKER_01: Simon took I didn't want named, he didn't want us to say his name.
- 19:02SPEAKER_01: I messed up on the group and I said his name, but he's donated November no October or November.
- 19:09SPEAKER_01: Well, ever man you play Bournemouth, two tickets, hospitality, old Trafford, food, drinks, good seats, programme.
- 19:20SPEAKER_01: So that'll be in the raffle.
- 19:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah, pretty generous.
- 19:22SPEAKER_01: And we've got another big one, but we're just ironing out the details, but we've got a really good one, and that's not going in the raffle.
- 19:29SPEAKER_01: We're gonna auction it.
- 19:30SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we've got a really good one, which we'll we'll give you next week or through the week.
- 19:35SPEAKER_01: We just find out that the iron out the fine idea's.
- 19:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 19:40SPEAKER_01: So, quick question already.
- 19:42SPEAKER_01: Again, we've got loads of questions tonight.
- 19:43SPEAKER_01: Alright, lads, just a quick question on the eve of hopefully an exciting and successful a successful season.
- 19:49SPEAKER_01: So what was it?
- 19:50SPEAKER_01: Success.
- 19:51SPEAKER_01: Starting out the behive again.
- 19:53SPEAKER_01: How did you all feel before on this night, the night before the start of the season?
- 19:58SPEAKER_01: Were you buzzing?
- 19:58SPEAKER_01: Did you know it could be a struggle or a success after your pre-season?
- 20:02SPEAKER_01: Cheers, Simon.
- 20:04SPEAKER_01: Depends if you left yourself short, didn't it?
- 20:07SPEAKER_01: I know what you mean.
- 20:08SPEAKER_02: Um I remember we we we got promoted out of the conference north with Barrow and we didn't lose for 23 games.
- 20:15SPEAKER_02: And that season, yeah.
- 20:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and we were playing the favourite at home, Oxford, and it was on a Friday night.
- 20:18SPEAKER_02: Remember Satanta Sports on it?
- 20:20SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 20:20SPEAKER_02: On that, and obviously uh Hulker Street was sold out the night before.
- 20:26SPEAKER_02: And it was a Friday night, and I was just I just remember all day on the Friday, I was I couldn't wait to play because I just couldn't see us losing because of the way we finished the season, yeah, and we ended up winning 4-0 against like they were like league favourites, so yeah, it's just like if you're Oxford, you don't want to go to Barrow.
- 20:42SPEAKER_02: No, no, no, they've got there and they'll look not for us, but I we we just uh I mean they got a man sent off just before half time, but it was nil-nil then.
- 20:50SPEAKER_02: And uh how we put four past in the second half and and you just relax over the weekend, don't you?
- 20:55SPEAKER_02: How tired were you though?
- 20:56SPEAKER_01: Oh wow, even if you left yourself short or you're feeling fit, that first game.
- 21:01SPEAKER_01: Six or seven games, nothing like that.
- 21:03SPEAKER_01: It's like the call El Lards on Saturday, you need six or seven games, but it's just adrenaline that as well, isn't it?
- 21:07SPEAKER_01: And the game's tricker than the preseason games.
- 21:09SPEAKER_01: You've been thinking all week about the game, and as you say, the adrenaline just comes out of you.
- 21:13SPEAKER_01: It's no surprise in the big games how many people got on McCramp.
- 21:16SPEAKER_01: It's the like finals and stuff, it's the adrenaline of the whole day.
- 21:20SPEAKER_01: You're not sleep, you don't have your nap your nap like you usually do.
- 21:22SPEAKER_01: It's not just a bummer.
- 21:24SPEAKER_01: The build-up's different.
- 21:24SPEAKER_02: You think about your tickets, yeah.
- 21:26SPEAKER_02: Everything's different as well.
- 21:27SPEAKER_01: With me, Carlisle, I was always buzzing for it.
- 21:29SPEAKER_01: Barnsley, we got relegated from the championship first day in League One.
- 21:33SPEAKER_01: I knew we were undercooked.
- 21:34SPEAKER_01: Did you?
- 21:35SPEAKER_01: I knew we had we had only four friendlies, and we weren't great, and we played swinding away, and it was boiling, and and uh we were undercooked, and I knew it.
- 21:43SPEAKER_01: We went one nil up and we got beat three on, and I was I knew that night before the I was like, We're not we're not great, yeah.
- 21:50SPEAKER_01: That was the problem Saturday.
- 21:52SPEAKER_01: We'll talk about we'll get on to them right after this one.
- 21:54SPEAKER_01: We've talked the whole thing.
- 21:56SPEAKER_01: But uh wasn't for the seasons, yeah, yeah.
- 21:59SPEAKER_01: I was always looking at the.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: Forward to it, I've I always felt relatively fit.
- 22:02SPEAKER_01: Do you mean like now, like kind of my time coming through, they they left no stone unturned, really, like with sports science and that.
- 22:09SPEAKER_01: So you always felt kind of ready to go.
- 22:12SPEAKER_01: But again, as you said, that takes you a couple of games.
- 22:15SPEAKER_01: Do you know what I mean?
- 22:15SPEAKER_01: But if you can start well, I think with Hibs and that, like we had a home game which was good, started well coming up from the championship, and you think, right, we can yeah, we'll be alright here.
- 22:26SPEAKER_01: Do you know what I mean?
- 22:28SPEAKER_01: We did we fell at a lot of the games, yeah.
- 22:30SPEAKER_01: I think uh on reflection, Wendy, have I been in a team where I thought we'd struggle, like get relegated?
- 22:37SPEAKER_01: Probably not.
- 22:37SPEAKER_01: I think when we came up from the conference with Carlisle, we were like, right, this has been a kind of club that's not gone down, but it's always been down the bottom of the league, too.
- 22:46SPEAKER_01: If we finish third bottom and build, that'll be good, but we end up winning the league.
- 22:51SPEAKER_01: But you just sometimes you've got to be realistic, haven't you?
- 22:53SPEAKER_02: Do you remember last season where it was the hottest day ever?
- 22:57SPEAKER_02: Um what year would it have been?
- 23:00SPEAKER_02: 2000 and I don't know, six or seven.
- 23:02SPEAKER_02: We played Bournemouth at home for Portville.
- 23:04SPEAKER_02: We had to warm up in the shade.
- 23:06SPEAKER_01: Was that hot?
- 23:06SPEAKER_01: No, I couldn't be.
- 23:08SPEAKER_01: It was it was that when I was done about man.
- 23:10SPEAKER_01: Was it was it not was it not three four?
- 23:14SPEAKER_01: Probably I it was three four two thousand three-four.
- 23:17SPEAKER_02: It was I guess when I come off half time, yeah.
- 23:21SPEAKER_02: Fucking hate man.
- 23:23SPEAKER_02: He was like, I've seen enough of you.
- 23:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah, oh mate, I couldn't.
- 23:26SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I do symbols that we're playing.
- 23:29SPEAKER_01: Are we at Colchester at home?
- 23:30SPEAKER_01: Because we played you about four games later, and we still boiling off.
- 23:33SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's right.
- 23:34SPEAKER_02: We did.
- 23:34SPEAKER_02: That's a season, right?
- 23:36SPEAKER_02: Cheers for that.
- 23:37SPEAKER_01: So we're on to Carlisle United.
- 23:41SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 23:42SPEAKER_01: Use were at the game, weren't you?
- 23:43SPEAKER_01: I'm at the game.
- 23:45SPEAKER_01: So my thoughts, Worthen were never scoring.
- 23:50SPEAKER_01: First half, first half.
- 23:51SPEAKER_01: We're just kicking anywhere, honestly.
- 23:53SPEAKER_01: That's all comfortable.
- 23:54SPEAKER_01: I think they get spooked a wee bit with the atmosphere and the big pitch, and was a very, very good atmosphere.
- 23:59SPEAKER_01: Shouldn't have been about them.
- 24:00SPEAKER_01: No, should have been about us, and we've passed it.
- 24:03SPEAKER_01: Linny snatched it a few, but you can't always relax, you know, can't all be on Linny.
- 24:07SPEAKER_01: There's some good movement, the right back's good.
- 24:09SPEAKER_01: Good player, mate.
- 24:10SPEAKER_01: Good player.
- 24:10SPEAKER_01: Leo DeRue.
- 24:12SPEAKER_01: What I didn't get is they didn't even play with the centre forward were then, and our centre halves didn't have anyone to mark really.
- 24:20SPEAKER_01: That are ten who kept floating.
- 24:22SPEAKER_01: I think we scored the first goal.
- 24:23SPEAKER_01: But apart from that, nothing.
- 24:24SPEAKER_01: You've got three sit-halves.
- 24:25SPEAKER_01: So our centre half were on the ball constantly, and I just felt why not sacrifice one or bring one and get as Aziz to go and play the the sit and one instead of Harper.
- 24:36SPEAKER_01: Now but Bunker was playing centre half, eh?
- 24:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so you think it does see the put Harper in the middle of midfield again.
- 24:41SPEAKER_01: He could go into midfield, couldn't he?
- 24:42SPEAKER_01: Step in, but they put Harper in midfield again.
- 24:44SPEAKER_01: Now we've said this isn't his fault, but him putting there, and he was busy, he was tidy, wasn't he?
- 24:50SPEAKER_01: But he's taken too many touches, and now if we can see it, and the crowd around us can see it, then surely Elliot's got to see it.
- 24:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 24:58SPEAKER_01: He was busy, you know, he's tough.
- 25:00SPEAKER_01: Oh, he's he's honest.
- 25:02SPEAKER_01: At home, you've got to move that ball so much quicker.
- 25:06SPEAKER_01: And I just feel Aziz was kind of Aziz and um Wheeling were the ones they were relying on someone to give them the ball.
- 25:14SPEAKER_01: Where I think Aziz needs to go and be that one who links it all up.
- 25:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 25:19SPEAKER_02: What I did like about them was it was purposely done where what's the left back called?
- 25:24SPEAKER_02: Galvin.
- 25:25SPEAKER_02: Galvin.
- 25:26SPEAKER_02: He played right next to centre halves, and Daru pushed right on.
- 25:29SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 25:29SPEAKER_02: And they tried to get him the ball a lot, and it was working.
- 25:32SPEAKER_02: And he was man of the match, he played really well, and it was working.
- 25:34SPEAKER_02: And I thought first half, it should have been out of sight apart from the finishing.
- 25:38SPEAKER_02: And like on another day, Linny gets two or three, doesn't he?
- 25:40SPEAKER_02: And he's off to an absolute flyer.
- 25:41SPEAKER_02: I mean, the ones hit the inside of the post, the one that's pulled back to him, last year he scored then.
- 25:47SPEAKER_02: So but the second half, like you say, I just like like you said about your team being undercooked, they just look like they ran out of legs.
- 25:55SPEAKER_01: How did they come back into it then?
- 25:56SPEAKER_01: The intensity dropped that much.
- 25:58SPEAKER_01: We dropped they passed, and they got a wee back.
- 26:00SPEAKER_01: They look fit, tails up a wee bit.
- 26:01SPEAKER_01: But our friendlies have been a bit of a shamble.
- 26:04SPEAKER_02: Because it was still one-nil, they were thought to themselves, we're still in this.
- 26:07SPEAKER_02: It's two or three, they're not.
- 26:08SPEAKER_02: But one-nil, they're in, and I mean the first the three finishes, even though it's three goals from three shots, the three good finishes.
- 26:14SPEAKER_01: The body language, though, from our lads when they scored, you could.
- 26:17SPEAKER_01: I went, This is game over, yeah.
- 26:19SPEAKER_01: Really?
- 26:20SPEAKER_01: No one's on each other.
- 26:21SPEAKER_02: Nah, it's just like, yeah, you don't see fingers pointing, you don't see digging people out.
- 26:25SPEAKER_01: It's just like I like Georgie Kelly.
- 26:27SPEAKER_01: I like Georgie Kelly, but his interview afterwards, which is but he's saying they're asking about the new lads, and he says, Yeah, they're all great lads that have integrated into the group.
- 26:34SPEAKER_01: Nah, have a prick.
- 26:36SPEAKER_01: Like, but like we had pricks in our dressing room.
- 26:39SPEAKER_01: We had people who we didn't you would get on on the pitch, you kill each other, you get on after, but you'd also be wary of them.
- 26:45SPEAKER_01: But so what?
- 26:45SPEAKER_01: It was all about getting a game.
- 26:46SPEAKER_01: You wouldn't hang around with some of them.
- 26:48SPEAKER_01: Do you know what though?
- 26:48SPEAKER_01: See, when you are so close to people, I feel like that's when you can be so.
- 26:53SPEAKER_01: If your part missed, see like me like uh like Ebbs when I played like a long period of time there.
- 26:58SPEAKER_01: See like me and John McGinn, we'd share a flat light and stuff, but see on the pitch, you'd think we hated each other, exactly.
- 27:03SPEAKER_01: Like we would abuse each other.
- 27:05SPEAKER_01: Uh-huh.
- 27:05SPEAKER_01: I'd like John, pass the fucking ball.
- 27:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like stop trying to run through the full team using that arse, do you know?
- 27:11SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, give me the ball.
- 27:12SPEAKER_01: And then times where I'm not giving him it, and he's screaming at me, like literally like hammering each other.
- 27:16SPEAKER_01: Paul Artison, me, we wanted to do well, do you know what I mean?
- 27:20SPEAKER_01: Like personally, and the team was like, Give me the ball, I want to touch you the ball.
- 27:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and as you said, like we're all good people off the pitch, but you need you need that kind of the standards, do you know what I mean?
- 27:29SPEAKER_01: Like, if something's not happening or somebody's no moving the ball quick enough, tell him.
- 27:32SPEAKER_01: Well, Linny was getting a bit of grief for throwing his hands up, but Kelly was giving him grief, and I didn't mind from both.
- 27:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah, Kelly was saying, Are you gonna George Light L like Stevie's like setting a half snap and doing the job?
- 27:44SPEAKER_01: You'll see him like going back and like pointing the finger and and actually don't mind Linny throwing his hands up because in the end, Linny, if you watch them after it, you went, I know, like he went, I know, I know.
- 27:52SPEAKER_02: And I think if he scores them chances in the first half, his performance would be different, yeah, wouldn't it?
- 27:56SPEAKER_02: Because he'd be full of it, wouldn't he?
- 27:58SPEAKER_02: Like, I've got two goals here, I'm football.
- 28:00SPEAKER_02: But it just the chances you missed, I don't know if he plays on his mind or not, and it just kept getting a bit worse and worse for him as the game went on.
- 28:06SPEAKER_01: And I don't know, I don't care who you play against, the teams will always get chances.
- 28:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah, always get chances, and it's just if you've killed the game off or not.
- 28:13SPEAKER_02: They threw them away first half, they did.
- 28:14SPEAKER_01: They were good first half that's when the season and I had probably favourites to go win the league.
- 28:19SPEAKER_01: Everyone's supposed to blow like go blown them out of the water.
- 28:21SPEAKER_01: Do you know what I mean?
- 28:22SPEAKER_01: I know that's no like it's not as easy as that.
- 28:25SPEAKER_01: That's where you put a statement down in it and go three, four.
- 28:28SPEAKER_01: And that's what they could have done.
- 28:29SPEAKER_01: They could have went in at half time, it could have been dead and buried.
- 28:31SPEAKER_01: But then everyone would have gone to do it second half.
- 28:34SPEAKER_01: You can't run it.
- 28:34SPEAKER_01: That's I say the friendlies, I think they're undercooked.
- 28:37SPEAKER_01: Did they make any so I had a game always the Saturday, so I wasn't I didn't see much, but did they make many changes at half time or sixty minutes?
- 28:43SPEAKER_01: Or they give it that we injection.
- 28:46SPEAKER_01: Did they bring that re injection on?
- 28:47SPEAKER_01: I mean to be like, right, it's no really we've not put them away yet.
- 28:50SPEAKER_01: Bench wasn't strong.
- 28:51SPEAKER_02: I got asked the question at half time, what would he say to them?
- 28:54SPEAKER_02: And surely it's just more of the same, surely, because they've done that well and they've they've absolutely I mean 30 30 to 45 minutes, they were just clearing the lines, yeah.
- 29:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah with nothing, it was just get the ball turn, have another attack, get the ball turn on.
- 29:06SPEAKER_01: So if you think keep doing the same, be patient, take the chances, lads, take the chances, a bit of composure, but then football's mad, isn't it?
- 29:12SPEAKER_01: How it just flips they just it just went dead the game and they thought and then they popped it, yeah, yeah, and then the And then that's when you you react to what you see in it, like as a manager and staff, like you need to react on how the game's going in front of you, do you know what I mean?
- 29:27SPEAKER_01: Like, are they coming back into it?
- 29:28SPEAKER_01: Right, that's why you're doing it to change a bit, do we need us?
- 29:31SPEAKER_01: That's when I thought personnel or formation.
- 29:33SPEAKER_01: I think the season needs to go where Harper was because we weren't building anything attack.
- 29:37SPEAKER_01: But regarding the friendlies, I think Queen of the South behind closed doors, Derby County behind closed doors under 21s, um, Darlington away and Sulfur at home.
- 29:47SPEAKER_01: I don't think that's enough.
- 29:48SPEAKER_01: And when we played Sulphur, we were not on it, we weren't one got called off, didn't it?
- 29:53SPEAKER_01: And one got off doors.
- 29:54SPEAKER_01: But you can't have your last can't have your last friendies, Derby County under 21s.
- 29:58SPEAKER_01: Nah, I agree with that.
- 29:58SPEAKER_01: Because four games, you're not getting enough legs, no one's getting enough.
- 30:01SPEAKER_01: Surprised they never went and played like because with someone that we played Dundee United at home, but they beat us to be fair, but it's a proper game.
- 30:07SPEAKER_01: It's a good test.
- 30:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 30:08SPEAKER_01: Do you know?
- 30:10SPEAKER_01: They're heading two weeks ahead.
- 30:12SPEAKER_01: They're a bit ahead because they're already they start early with the cup games, but you know you're gonna get like a proper physical but good standard.
- 30:19SPEAKER_01: Do you know what I mean?
- 30:20SPEAKER_01: In the game.
- 30:21SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 30:22SPEAKER_01: Got a question here from Poskett at Poskett.
- 30:26SPEAKER_01: Chris, when TNE was appointed, you said on the social, colour social, about him being an excellent acquisition to the club given his personality, etc.
- 30:35SPEAKER_01: What has gone so badly wrong?
- 30:37SPEAKER_01: Why has the recruitment failed under his watch?
- 30:40SPEAKER_01: Why, too, has he gone completely silent these last few months?
- 30:43SPEAKER_01: I feel that the Pyotechs have given up and are now backing slowly away from the club.
- 30:48SPEAKER_01: What are your thoughts about this mess?
- 30:50SPEAKER_01: Tom P promised transparency and promised that promotion was the aim.
- 30:54SPEAKER_01: Do you think that financially they've shut up shop and that Elliot was a cheap replacement?
- 30:59SPEAKER_01: Does the recruitment mirror the promises of promotion?
- 31:02SPEAKER_01: P.S.
- 31:02SPEAKER_01: Can you have a word with Big Fred, please, to come back in?
- 31:05SPEAKER_01: So let's go on to T and E.
- 31:06SPEAKER_01: At the time, I think the Pytex were desperate for a bit of football leadership, nouse, and someone who I know personally as Mark.
- 31:18SPEAKER_01: I played with them, played against him, got a bit of balls, got a bit of he walked in the leagues as well.
- 31:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, he's working at Faltronham, so he had Linton, but he he has that and wants to progress.
- 31:28SPEAKER_01: Had that devil about him, do you know what I mean?
- 31:30SPEAKER_01: Then he didn't he got overlooked the first time and they brought in can't even remember his name, Clobson.
- 31:36SPEAKER_01: What shambles Rangers uh done something with Rangers?
- 31:41SPEAKER_01: I don't know if he was done now, but he was went for a run sometimes down Penny Blue and that.
- 31:45SPEAKER_01: God, I forgot about him.
- 31:46SPEAKER_01: Terrible.
- 31:47SPEAKER_01: So all he asked about was data.
- 31:49SPEAKER_01: My mates are in the game, and at every game they were like, yo, what data do you use?
- 31:52SPEAKER_01: Like what?
- 31:54SPEAKER_01: But regarding Mark, I thought right, got a bit about him, knows the league, knows what you with a bigger budget.
- 32:01SPEAKER_01: Um, and then yeah, talking to him, probably not the job he first thought when he came in.
- 32:07SPEAKER_01: Had an answer to a hell of a lot of people.
- 32:09SPEAKER_01: I think it's been tweaked this year, but not had much, not had much word on it.
- 32:13SPEAKER_01: So quiet, yeah, I agree.
- 32:15SPEAKER_01: I think uh from the club, all of them can start talking a little bit more.
- 32:19SPEAKER_01: I think the family quite rightly uh have been accused of going off the ball or losing, or maybe accused of losing interest because we used to hear from them constantly, and they always said they would always keep us up to date.
- 32:33SPEAKER_01: And when you do go quiet, when you are on getting promoted, it's quite right that people can think that and will think that.
- 32:39SPEAKER_01: Recruitment window, I think it's a lot of people who have had a say in it.
- 32:43SPEAKER_01: Do you?
- 32:43SPEAKER_01: I don't think it's just Mark and the manager needs to have I think everyone should have a say in it, and what you need.
- 32:48SPEAKER_01: It just feels I think some supporters I talked about the weekend, and what was getting their goal was a little bit of I know they've spent money, but that was their fault.
- 32:56SPEAKER_01: They spent it on rubbish, you know.
- 32:58SPEAKER_01: That the we've talked about the big contracts getting earlier, some people, but I think they feel because they're signing people from Gatehead and stuff like that, and still going along with some of the players who weren't good for the last two seasons are still getting games, that's the frustration.
- 33:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's um I mean is it a worry that they're they've gone so quiet, the owners?
- 33:20SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think so.
- 33:21SPEAKER_02: No, do as well.
- 33:22SPEAKER_02: I do as well.
- 33:24SPEAKER_01: Do you think they're damned if they do, damned if they don't know?
- 33:26SPEAKER_01: It's like absolutely not saying too many people moan about them, like being quite but they were quite out there, wouldn't they?
- 33:32SPEAKER_01: Like Americans coming in and now new project for them, and obviously they're really excited, but do you know?
- 33:39SPEAKER_01: And they've probably thought, you know what, let's put it to the football people, yeah, and let them run it.
- 33:44SPEAKER_01: Maybe just right, we've got to be able to do that.
- 33:45SPEAKER_01: We'll we obviously oversee everything, but like we'll put people in place and let them run it as a football business and we'll oversee it.
- 33:52SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 33:53SPEAKER_01: The problem is when you get results like that, you're looking for the head honcho to come and say something like that.
- 33:58SPEAKER_01: But the problem is he's got if he says something all the time, then the words mean nothing.
- 34:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but I think before the start of the season, there needs to be a little bit of a rap call.
- 34:06SPEAKER_01: But he's done it the last two seasons and said we'll be in the championship in four years and we'll get promoted.
- 34:11SPEAKER_01: So again, you can it's the naivety at the start, it's putting your trust in the clibbins of this world, maybe keeping Greg Albert on his head of recruitment when it probably needed a complete refresh when people were going out the door.
- 34:23SPEAKER_01: But they've now, as you say, Dylan, put people in place.
- 34:26SPEAKER_01: We've had a bad result Saturday.
- 34:28SPEAKER_01: I still feel you know, with the league, etc.
- 34:31SPEAKER_01: It was a wake-up call, and for me, I was looking at it and going, still some players in there.
- 34:36SPEAKER_01: It might not be a bad find out.
- 34:38SPEAKER_01: Like obviously, you might win games, but it is a wake-up call, isn't it?
- 34:42SPEAKER_01: To be like the manager, to be going to these sort of people now and go, Look, this is what we need.
- 34:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 34:48SPEAKER_01: So, do you know what I mean?
- 34:49SPEAKER_01: Like, if you want to make it stronger, then I'll do my best, but we need the X, Y, and Z.
- 34:53SPEAKER_01: And they might push them.
- 34:54SPEAKER_01: Do you know what I mean?
- 34:55SPEAKER_01: If they go out and won 3-4-0 against a poor team at the and the and poor performance for them, then it's kind of people all the cats be better.
- 35:03SPEAKER_01: And then you come up against somebody who's got a bit about them, and you go on.
- 35:06SPEAKER_01: But you're talking about Rangers, you're over away, you're over away.
- 35:10SPEAKER_01: It's Saturday, and they've they've signed a few.
- 35:13SPEAKER_01: Suddenly, you you need to take something on that, and then you've got Horn Church 12 o'clock on a Saturday, which could be a boo fest if you're not doing well after 20 minutes.
- 35:20SPEAKER_01: Boo talking about.
- 35:21SPEAKER_01: And they've just come up.
- 35:22SPEAKER_01: We're talking the booze.
- 35:24SPEAKER_01: Here we go.
- 35:26SPEAKER_01: James and Paul are coming on soon.
- 35:28SPEAKER_01: We've just got to get the date.
- 35:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 35:29SPEAKER_01: So we'll pepper them.
- 35:30SPEAKER_01: Question for the three of you what's your opinion on the booze at full time on Saturday?
- 35:35SPEAKER_01: Deserved or not, and would you call out fans for booing Barry Maxie?
- 35:40SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 35:41SPEAKER_02: I don't mind booing when you lose.
- 35:43SPEAKER_02: Because if you lose, you're not happy.
- 35:45SPEAKER_02: On the final whistle.
- 35:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but it's once they've done the lap and they've collapped, coming off down the tunnel.
- 35:50SPEAKER_02: The paddock, the booze were just like first game of the season.
- 35:52SPEAKER_02: I just thought it was a bit too much.
- 35:54SPEAKER_02: Like, I just because it was like it was really vicious, was it?
- 35:58SPEAKER_02: Do you know, like after you've lost like six, seven in a row and they've had enough of the manager?
- 36:02SPEAKER_02: It's the guy's first proper game charge.
- 36:04SPEAKER_01: Was it to him though?
- 36:05SPEAKER_01: Is it in general just like performance result?
- 36:09SPEAKER_01: Three years, Dylan.
- 36:10SPEAKER_01: But like I said, I don't mind when the whistle goes, like, fine, but like it's the first game.
- 36:15SPEAKER_02: I just think them booze walking down the tunnel.
- 36:17SPEAKER_02: For lads who have just signed for the club, it's gone from before the game, the best atmosphere they've ever known, to afterwards walking down the tunnel to like Jesus.
- 36:25SPEAKER_01: Can I put my football hat on as a footballer?
- 36:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I think the booze at the final whistle were that's fine, fine enough.
- 36:31SPEAKER_01: I think you've got a new group.
- 36:33SPEAKER_01: Um, you have been frustrated for three years, you've got some new players there, and they're getting pelters, probably a little bit out of order.
- 36:41SPEAKER_01: Now, can I put my fan hat on?
- 36:43SPEAKER_01: The club have asked us to buy kit, come to open days, back them.
- 36:47SPEAKER_01: So for the last two years we've done that, three years we've done that.
- 36:50SPEAKER_01: So you're standing there on Saturday and you expect a little bit more.
- 36:54SPEAKER_01: No disrespect to Wordon, who I've even put on their page, well done, lads, great result.
- 36:59SPEAKER_01: You you can't be getting beat like that.
- 37:01SPEAKER_00: No.
- 37:02SPEAKER_01: Because there was nothing, as you say, there's nothing from 55 minutes on.
- 37:05SPEAKER_01: It was a little spill that we got the set.
- 37:07SPEAKER_01: The players might need it to be like, right.
- 37:09SPEAKER_01: Well, you know what?
- 37:10SPEAKER_01: It's easy anymore.
- 37:11SPEAKER_01: You're not a gated with people around the track.
- 37:13SPEAKER_01: It it's like a coat of arms sometimes playing for Carlisle, it weighs heavy, yeah.
- 37:16SPEAKER_01: So either deal with it or fuck up.
- 37:18SPEAKER_01: I'll tell you what, like, see, see, when I was at like Hubs with Neil Lennon and stuff, you take the booze off the fans knowing that what what you're walking into.
- 37:26SPEAKER_01: Do you know what I mean?
- 37:26SPEAKER_01: So it's almost a like it's a set standards.
- 37:29SPEAKER_01: I know it can some players can go under, which if they're if they're gonna go under, they probably shouldn't be at Carlisle.
- 37:34SPEAKER_01: Do you know what I mean?
- 37:34SPEAKER_01: Chasing a league.
- 37:36SPEAKER_01: But one game you need you need to know that that's unacceptable.
- 37:39SPEAKER_01: But I still feel a three I I get it.
- 37:42SPEAKER_01: I think and it wasn't shit from minute one, was it?
- 37:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah, very good up to a point.
- 37:45SPEAKER_01: But I know that a draw.
- 37:46SPEAKER_01: Do you know what I mean?
- 37:46SPEAKER_01: I think the booze again were fair enough.
- 37:48SPEAKER_01: I think right at the end, from what I've heard, it was a bit pointy, and it was like I was looking down on it, and you're like, doesn't help though Lenny's gun.
- 37:58SPEAKER_00: Was it no as a player as a player?
- 38:03SPEAKER_01: I would be a bit come on, but I do get it though, because it is worthy, they've just turned full time, they've had a 10-hour trek, the 3-1 up, and we've only got a second because the keeper's dropped.
- 38:14SPEAKER_02: Spill the eye.
- 38:15SPEAKER_01: Aye, the urgency when they're when they went two and three-one was non-existent.
- 38:19SPEAKER_01: I was just thinking like it, it's no nice, and I've had it both ways.
- 38:23SPEAKER_01: You take you take out the plausits, you know, when you're doing well, you take the booze, and you're like fucking hell, it's a bit of older in it.
- 38:28SPEAKER_01: But see the end of the day, it's you on the pitch.
- 38:30SPEAKER_01: Only you can fix it.
- 38:31SPEAKER_01: Like, see if you see if you are performing to what you know you can, yeah, and what the squad can and the money that's been pumped into it, then you won't get booed.
- 38:39SPEAKER_01: I was playing for crew on load.
- 38:40SPEAKER_01: I know it's not easy, but like that's facts.
- 38:42SPEAKER_01: Like, they only boo because you're only winning games.
- 38:43SPEAKER_01: I was playing for crew on loan in the championship, and you got applauded off, whatever.
- 38:47SPEAKER_01: I can be too nice and crucial.
- 38:49SPEAKER_01: I would rather have some passionate fans giving us a bit, you know, and go, you know what?
- 38:54SPEAKER_01: I mean, you come in and boys are sitting on phones and they're posting Instagrams.
- 38:57SPEAKER_01: Like, I've seen one already, like on Instagram Saturday night, Sunday.
- 39:00SPEAKER_01: Picture of them playing playing and action shots and stuff.
- 39:03SPEAKER_01: It's like you've just been beat for getting the time off.
- 39:05SPEAKER_01: But the problem you've got is that you've got that's you're all you can be.
- 39:08SPEAKER_01: You've got 200 under 20 year olds loving it from Carlisle.
- 39:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we won the league, man.
- 39:12SPEAKER_01: Won the league, came back to Carlisle to play Torquay.
- 39:16SPEAKER_01: We're 2-0 down at half time because we've been on the lash for like a week.
- 39:19SPEAKER_01: We got booed going in.
- 39:22SPEAKER_01: Let's win the league the week before.
- 39:24SPEAKER_01: That's about arsense.
- 39:25SPEAKER_01: That's about arsenal.
- 39:26SPEAKER_01: Well, you know what?
- 39:27SPEAKER_01: We shouldn't have been on the lack, right?
- 39:28SPEAKER_01: So we're putting a carl.
- 39:30SPEAKER_01: What we're saying for the season, I'm saying it's a wake up call.
- 39:33SPEAKER_01: It's a wake-up call.
- 39:34SPEAKER_01: I think there's needs.
- 39:36SPEAKER_01: I think I like Rob Elliott, I like how he speaks.
- 39:38SPEAKER_01: I think he's approachable, I think he's endearing.
- 39:41SPEAKER_01: I like him as a lad, someone we really want to do well.
- 39:43SPEAKER_01: I like Hughes, but I think learn from it.
- 39:46SPEAKER_01: I'm not telling him to let I mean the whole squad learn from it.
- 39:49SPEAKER_01: Elliot staff, you know what the demands are now.
- 39:52SPEAKER_01: I think six, seven games in, you're sharper, you're fitter.
- 39:55SPEAKER_01: If we're going to play this way and the way we want to play, it is tough.
- 39:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 39:59SPEAKER_01: And I think whoever's fault it was, we're not sure it is.
- 40:01SPEAKER_01: We're undercooked because of pre-season.
- 40:03SPEAKER_01: We need players back.
- 40:04SPEAKER_01: Now they need to get games, but I think we need to go and get some uh to do, yeah.
- 40:10SPEAKER_01: And then beat Hornchurch.
- 40:11SPEAKER_02: Because what was it?
- 40:12SPEAKER_02: You can only lose what five games to win the league or something like that, and they've already lost one.
- 40:16SPEAKER_01: I think whoever wants it this year, it'll be a low lower than usual point tally.
- 40:22SPEAKER_01: I don't feel like the last couple of years, like your Yorks and Watchdale.
- 40:25SPEAKER_01: I don't think anyone's gonna run away and uh a mountain of that many points.
- 40:29SPEAKER_01: I thought maybe mate, wait.
- 40:31SPEAKER_01: Right, who am I?
- 40:33SPEAKER_01: Are you ready?
- 40:34SPEAKER_01: I'm flying at this analysis.
- 40:36SPEAKER_01: You were good at this last week, by the way.
- 40:37SPEAKER_01: Who was it again?
- 40:38SPEAKER_01: Willow flood.
- 40:40SPEAKER_01: No, it was another one last week.
- 40:41SPEAKER_01: You got two, didn't you?
- 40:43SPEAKER_01: Carl Wilson.
- 40:44SPEAKER_01: Ready?
- 40:44SPEAKER_01: Over to you.
- 40:45SPEAKER_01: Parasan Germain, Arsenal, Real Madrid.
- 40:50SPEAKER_01: Got it.
- 40:51SPEAKER_01: PSG, Man City, Fenabache, Bolton, Chelsea, Shanghai, West Brom, Mumbai City.
- 41:02SPEAKER_01: Let's give it again for the punters in Dylan.
- 41:05SPEAKER_01: Don't give me Parasang Arsenal, Real Madrid, PSG, Man City, Fenabache, Bolton, Chelsea, Shanghai, Wedge, West Brom, Mumbai City.
- 41:20SPEAKER_01: He got married when he was at Bolton.
- 41:21SPEAKER_01: That's any good.
- 41:25SPEAKER_01: Well, he revived his career at Bolton, didn't he?
- 41:27SPEAKER_01: And got that move to Chelsea.
- 41:28SPEAKER_01: Go on then, skip.
- 41:29SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah there, Adam.
- 41:30SPEAKER_01: You got it or not?
- 41:31SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 41:32SPEAKER_01: Nicholas and Elka.
- 41:34SPEAKER_01: Nice.
- 41:35SPEAKER_01: Nicholas and Helka.
- 41:36SPEAKER_01: What a player.
- 41:37SPEAKER_01: Mr.

- 46:22SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 46:23SPEAKER_01: Alright, lads.
- 46:24SPEAKER_01: Following on from Lummy saying about pre-match fry up last week.
- 46:27SPEAKER_01: It brought this memory back.
- 46:30SPEAKER_01: Hi lads.
- 46:31SPEAKER_01: I would let I would let you name me, but it might come back to haunt.
- 46:35SPEAKER_01: Got two got a story regarding my time at Carlisle United.
- 46:39SPEAKER_01: So we are playing away in 2007-8.
- 46:42SPEAKER_01: We are in the midst of a promotion race to the championship with the likes of Swansea, Brighton, Bournemouth, Leeds United, and Nottingham Forest, which is some achievement because your squad.
- 46:53SPEAKER_01: You're going to get this kid in trouble.
- 46:55SPEAKER_01: We are playing away and en route to our hotel on the Friday night when I have an idea.
- 47:00SPEAKER_01: I met a girl on holiday the previous year who was from the area.
- 47:03SPEAKER_01: So I thought, why not get her round to the hotel?
- 47:07SPEAKER_01: So I'm at the back of the bus sorting out this, sorting it out on the horseshoe couch.
- 47:12SPEAKER_01: Remember the horseshoe couch, I can't tell you.
- 47:15SPEAKER_01: Gollies drinking ginger ale, Lummy Hammer and Murph are reading a book, Busshead trying to find traffic and succeeding.
- 47:22SPEAKER_01: Dolly slaughtering everyone's missus.
- 47:24SPEAKER_01: Abbott at the front being a snake.
- 47:29SPEAKER_01: So it's on.
- 47:30SPEAKER_01: I've got the girl, the address.
- 47:32SPEAKER_01: She is game.
- 47:33SPEAKER_01: My roommate knows the score, and after our Friday night meal, he will stay downstairs for a bit while I entertain her.
- 47:39SPEAKER_01: Now, this is the thing.
- 47:40SPEAKER_01: Lummy can be the biggest clown going from the minute we win on a Saturday all week to around 8 pm on the Friday night before the next game.
- 47:49SPEAKER_01: Then his professionalism kicks in.
- 47:52SPEAKER_01: Have you ever seen me, myself, and Irene?
- 47:54SPEAKER_01: He changes more than Jim Carrey does from Charlie to Hank.
- 47:58SPEAKER_01: So I know he is going.
- 48:01SPEAKER_01: So I know he is going to be on me if he knows I'm fucking about.
- 48:05SPEAKER_01: He is desperate for the three promotions on his CV, so his statue will be built outside the ground.
- 48:10SPEAKER_01: Now, everything's going great.
- 48:12SPEAKER_01: Finished dinner, roommate happy to play cards with the lads and give me a couple hours.
- 48:17SPEAKER_01: I'm back in the room, door on latch, waiting for the last to come up.
- 48:21SPEAKER_01: Door opens.
- 48:22SPEAKER_01: Arid fucking Lummy and Paul Arneson.
- 48:25SPEAKER_02: It's the last thing you need.
- 48:26SPEAKER_01: Literally seconds later, 30 seconds later, in walks the Doris.
- 48:30SPEAKER_01: Now remember, Lummy has crossed APM on a Friday night, so he's in game mode.
- 48:35SPEAKER_01: He tells me, without really telling me, that you better be gone soon and I better be at it the next day, or he's having me.
- 48:41SPEAKER_01: Off they go.
- 48:42SPEAKER_01: I crack on.
- 48:43SPEAKER_01: Next day, Lummy is on me.
- 48:45SPEAKER_01: First touch, not bad.
- 48:46SPEAKER_01: Second, I give the ball away.
- 48:48SPEAKER_01: Gives me the look of you better fucking smarten up.
- 48:50SPEAKER_01: Fast forward 96 mins.
- 48:52SPEAKER_01: We have won 3-0.
- 48:53SPEAKER_01: I've played well.
- 48:54SPEAKER_01: As a team, we pissed it, and Lumia's back to clown mode.
- 48:57SPEAKER_01: So I tell him the last stayed the night.
- 49:00SPEAKER_01: About four of the lads were in the room till 3 a.m.
- 49:03SPEAKER_01: Not with the girl.
- 49:04SPEAKER_01: We're all just having crack with her and taking the piss out of each other.
- 49:07SPEAKER_01: He is an horse.
- 49:08SPEAKER_01: He has his win bonus, and the statue building can resume.
- 49:12SPEAKER_01: Nothing said all week.
- 49:13SPEAKER_01: The following Saturday, I lose my man in the first ten minutes and pull him back.
- 49:18SPEAKER_01: I get booked.
- 49:18SPEAKER_01: Lummy absolutely battered me for having a late night a week ago.
- 49:22SPEAKER_01: Cheers, lads.
- 49:24SPEAKER_01: Great podcast and great to reminisce.
- 49:27SPEAKER_01: You were just waiting on that, weren't you?
- 49:29SPEAKER_01: You were always going to go back and just banked it.
- 49:32SPEAKER_01: That was more from Dennis Booth, who likes a bit.
- 49:34SPEAKER_01: You fuck.
- 49:35SPEAKER_01: I remember I met Kevin Ball, right, once.
- 49:37SPEAKER_01: Not bridging read Kevin Ball.
- 49:39SPEAKER_01: And about three weeks later, Kevin Ball topped him in training.
- 49:41SPEAKER_01: Went, that's for fucking June, fucking 13th or something.
- 49:44SPEAKER_01: And then Ballie done the same.
- 49:46SPEAKER_01: I got told the story, and I kind of went past Baley and uh playing for Sundon against Burnley.
- 49:52SPEAKER_01: And that night we all ended up, we both ended up back in Sunderland in this night club.
- 49:55SPEAKER_01: I was playing for uh Barnesy on low, and he was a Bernie, but we went back to Sundon, and then I was taking the piss going, I skin it today, and he's like, fair enough, fair enough.
- 50:04SPEAKER_01: Four months later, Barnesie be Burney the return.
- 50:06SPEAKER_01: He's done us in the first minute because he stood over us and went, That's a fucking brook.
- 50:11SPEAKER_01: Aye, so I'll probably tell you off air who that was, but I remember it well.
- 50:14SPEAKER_01: 3-0 away, last came in.
- 50:16SPEAKER_01: Decent.
- 50:17SPEAKER_01: Alright.
- 50:18SPEAKER_01: Ah, Decent.
- 50:20SPEAKER_01: Eight o'clock, and he just changed.
- 50:23SPEAKER_01: Hi lads.
- 50:24SPEAKER_01: This is Mickey B from Carlisle.
- 50:26SPEAKER_01: Hi lads, over the last few weeks you have described your heroes were, and some of you also had the privilege to train or play him with them.
- 50:33SPEAKER_01: In training in day-to-day life, did they do anything different that set them apart, or was it all natural ability, like Larson with Dylan, or did he go the extra mile?
- 50:44SPEAKER_01: I was a kid when Larson was there, so I never really knew him apart from just watching on TV and stuff and or being the bull boy at some of the games, but by all accounts he was quite quiet, Larson.
- 50:55SPEAKER_01: Was he?
- 50:56SPEAKER_01: Aye.
- 50:56SPEAKER_01: He was quite um I think the ones you get quite tightly, like Sutton and Lennon and stuff, I think he was like fine with them, but when everyone else, I think he was quite not um rude, but quite standoff.
- 51:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah, right, yeah.
- 51:12SPEAKER_01: So he was like, I don't know if that's like where where he's from and stuff like that.
- 51:16SPEAKER_01: Like but well even now you see him, I think you've seen him on the overlap.
- 51:19SPEAKER_01: He doesn't give too much away, didn't it?
- 51:21SPEAKER_01: He's not like overly bubbly and stuff like that.
- 51:24SPEAKER_01: He just says what he feels and you know if someone pissed him off on the pitch, would you have a big time to the opposition license?
- 51:30SPEAKER_01: Not that not that I've heard, no, I've never really heard Charles Mogrew and McGee and that obviously young kids when he was there.
- 51:36SPEAKER_01: And I don't I think they just said like unless you're one of his mates or one of his boys, he was quite standoffish, but never really big time with anything.
- 51:43SPEAKER_01: Nah, I don't think he was big time.
- 51:44SPEAKER_01: Lee Clark, he was my hero, wasn't he?
- 51:46SPEAKER_01: And then next thing I'm training with him, playing with him, made me debut.
- 51:50SPEAKER_01: He was looked after us, to be fair.
- 51:52SPEAKER_01: Like you think your debut, don't you?
- 51:54SPEAKER_01: And you think about skipping past someone and hitting a 50-yard or something, but like one of my first things I had to do was I had to run like their centre back, played it to someone to some, and I ran the full bit and charge down the left back.
- 52:06SPEAKER_01: He just went, That's fucking different class.
- 52:08SPEAKER_01: Next thing you're like, actually, that's probably part of the game.
- 52:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 52:11SPEAKER_01: I remember when uh I started seeing a girl from Darris Hall, Pontiel and were dead posh.
- 52:16SPEAKER_01: That's where you want them from.
- 52:17SPEAKER_01: You're just hiding, but he was like loads of the biggest.
- 52:19SPEAKER_01: He's looking for someone up LNA.
- 52:20SPEAKER_01: He lifted Darris Hall and he went, Listen, we've got a night out the next day, and he was injured, so he wasn't on the drink.
- 52:25SPEAKER_01: When I'll give you a lift, I jumped in the car and he's like straight away, you're golfing today.
- 52:30SPEAKER_01: I was like, Oh yeah, man, this is my new gear.
- 52:33SPEAKER_01: But I was just telling them stories.
- 52:35SPEAKER_01: I went, Oh Nash, they're dead posh in that, and they used big words, and like the dad asked us a question the other day, and I said yes, and it wasn't a yes or no question.
- 52:42SPEAKER_01: He just looked at us.
- 52:43SPEAKER_01: So back at the dressing room, we get there, and I'm like, So he's getting to know me a little bit in this car, asking questions, and then the next thing I'll come on to the show, and he's going, Oh, this Daphne from everybody.
- 52:54SPEAKER_01: Uh Nell Quinn was quite surreal to play with Nel Quinn.
- 52:58SPEAKER_01: Uh did that help you though to set one with the like the squad and that even though, like, majority of times you'd be pissed to cut you the one it, like, but the fact that they're going to be about you and they're taking a piss and all that, and they think nah he's alright.
- 53:08SPEAKER_01: Do you know what that you know what helped is ginger white as out, skinny as out with a brace, so they thought I was no threat.
- 53:15SPEAKER_01: So, like, I was that like they wouldn't like they just know me's get pictures of them on his walls, crossing them off.
- 53:21SPEAKER_01: No, no, no, okay, you're gone.
- 53:23SPEAKER_01: See him all gone.
- 53:24SPEAKER_01: Aye, but I playing with heroes, I think uh it was good for a lot of the call alads play with Bridgie.
- 53:32SPEAKER_01: It wasn't heroes, well, it wasn't oh training.
- 53:34SPEAKER_01: He asked as well, did they do anything different?
- 53:37SPEAKER_02: Just no, I mean speed.
- 53:38SPEAKER_02: Gary Speed, he just he was his first in, last out, wasn't he?
- 53:42SPEAKER_02: And all that.
- 53:43SPEAKER_02: And he didn't need to be, did he?
- 53:44SPEAKER_02: No, but before training, he was like he was a bit ahead of everybody else, as in like years ahead.
- 53:49SPEAKER_02: The way he used to do stuff, he was he was always in the gym and prehab and warm up before the warm-up and stuff like that.
- 53:54SPEAKER_01: Gary Speed said Dyer and Janice were first in a last in, last uh uh last in, first out, and he was trying to tell them, come on, and then he said they got injuries after injuries in the SA in their interviews now.
- 54:05SPEAKER_01: Wish I'd listen more.
- 54:06SPEAKER_01: Never never fulfilled the potential.
- 54:08SPEAKER_01: Did they like Jimmy and Janice, did they?
- 54:10SPEAKER_01: Right, yeah.
- 54:10SPEAKER_02: I mean I was a right good career, but if they'd have followed his lead, they'd have had a careers would be a lot better.
- 54:15SPEAKER_01: I played against Janice, you know.
- 54:16SPEAKER_01: Bobby Robson came to watch with both.
- 54:19SPEAKER_01: He was 18, I was 21.
- 54:21SPEAKER_01: He's only taken one.
- 54:22SPEAKER_01: Well, obviously, I seen Jamie McLean today, and obviously he broke into the first team, didn't he?
- 54:26SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 54:27SPEAKER_02: So he'd got a new contract and he was on good money.
- 54:30SPEAKER_02: He should tell us every day how much he was on.
- 54:32SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 54:32SPEAKER_02: Uh and then he got arrested for drunk and sordely.
- 54:36SPEAKER_02: So he got took up to Russell Cushion or Freddy Shepard, one of their gonna say the police station, I was gonna name them.
- 54:47SPEAKER_02: They find him three weeks' wages.
- 54:49SPEAKER_02: Um and Bobby Robson like for his corner saying, look, he had the day off the next day, he was drinking and all that.
- 54:54SPEAKER_02: So they went down away from the chairman, and he said, and Jamie's like, Three weeks' wages on my new money, it's a lot of money.
- 55:00SPEAKER_02: He's like, Listen, get out, it'll be four weeks.
- 55:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 55:02SPEAKER_02: So he said, the next day, he pulled him again, he went, I've been thinking about what you said.
- 55:06SPEAKER_02: He said, Don't worry, I'll sort it for you.
- 55:08SPEAKER_02: Except you're still paying you three weeks, he's like, I don't get it.
- 55:11SPEAKER_02: But he was on really good bonuses as well, we're paying us money.
- 55:14SPEAKER_02: So the next four or five games, put him on, put him on in the last minute, we only had to get his money up eventually.
- 55:19SPEAKER_01: Got his money back.
- 55:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 55:20SPEAKER_01: Do you remember when Bobby Robson signed?
- 55:22SPEAKER_01: So Jamie was playing about four games in a row for Newcastle United, like local lad.
- 55:26SPEAKER_01: And he's a great ball player, wasn't he?
- 55:28SPEAKER_01: But Jennis was like legs, so in that game, we got a corner, and someone took it, a bit like Col hit the first man, and it got cleared.
- 55:38SPEAKER_01: And me and Jennis were running back because they were attacking, and I was taking like loads of little strides, and he was just going gliding.
- 55:45SPEAKER_01: Like a deer.
- 55:46SPEAKER_01: He's a machine, isn't it?
- 55:47SPEAKER_01: And then so Newcastle had won these four games, and it was Derby Day, and he took Jamie out, and he put Jennis in as an 18-19-year-old for his debut, and Newcastle won 1-0 after the game.
- 55:59SPEAKER_01: Um, Bobby Robson, before he said anything, when I listen, I've broken someone's heart, he had broken Jamie McLean's heart.
- 56:04SPEAKER_01: I mentioned him, said I've broken his heart, I've put this lad in and uh ahead of him, but he's played brilliantly.
- 56:11SPEAKER_01: But I he was, he was.
- 56:12SPEAKER_01: I mean, what was he 18 when he came to Newcastle?
- 56:16SPEAKER_01: I told you the story, didn't I?
- 56:16SPEAKER_01: We walked into Cruise Flannels and you've sat there as like a 19-year-old, and he had the people he was just going that genius was yeah, he's got a bet, though, ain't he?
- 56:25SPEAKER_01: Well, got on the text.
- 56:30SPEAKER_01: He's gone missing, hasn't he?
- 56:32SPEAKER_01: Right, we've got another one here.
- 56:34SPEAKER_01: We've been in And this week.
- 56:35SPEAKER_01: Hi boys, just wanted to say how much I enjoy enjoying the podcast.
- 56:40SPEAKER_01: Belly laugh every episode.
- 56:42SPEAKER_01: As you say, Lummy, it was just meant to be a footy podcast.
- 56:45SPEAKER_01: Well, I'm glad it's not only that.
- 56:46SPEAKER_01: Yes, we get our football fix, but also so much more.
- 56:49SPEAKER_01: As Lummy said, Skip, we all have your back and your families be just and fear not.
- 56:54SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
- 56:55SPEAKER_01: My question is, what do you think you would have been if you were not a footballer?
- 56:59SPEAKER_01: A compliment, yeah.
- 56:59SPEAKER_01: I know it would not have been the Peter Crouch answer, as you're all good looking bends.
- 57:04SPEAKER_01: Did you have plans plans or was it all geared to making it?
- 57:08SPEAKER_01: If so, what would have been your interested career if you had a be sorry, what would you have been interested in being after your career or before?
- 57:18SPEAKER_01: That's from Tracy's from Carlisle.
- 57:19SPEAKER_02: I've never known the answer to this, me, because from such a young age it was just football, and then obviously I signed for Newcastle at 14 and mistakenly I thought I'd made it then.
- 57:28SPEAKER_02: But like it was just always football.
- 57:30SPEAKER_02: I didn't give it a second thought.
- 57:31SPEAKER_01: Like I had a you don't even give yourself a chance, do you?
- 57:35SPEAKER_02: Like even in school, I was I was missing in the last year of school, I was missing every Friday.
- 57:39SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 57:40SPEAKER_02: To go used to go and train with the under-16s on a Thursday night, stay over in Newcastle, train with the youth team, play for the youth team on a Saturday.
- 57:46SPEAKER_02: Um so I just thought, oh well, and that was just all geared towards that.
- 57:49SPEAKER_02: So I never ever but if I could go back, and this is on I always say it, I would get a trade, mate.
- 57:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah, trade trade and no one could get away from you, can I?
- 57:58SPEAKER_01: No, like managers can bring in the office and say, right, pack your bags, you're gone.
- 58:02SPEAKER_01: But if you've always got something to fall back on, I mean some of my adapted centre half or Carlisle, personal trainer, Malarke is personal trainers.
- 58:11SPEAKER_01: Imagine how many clients he's got online.
- 58:12SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 58:13SPEAKER_02: But you see, lads who are like electricians and joiners and stuff like that.
- 58:15SPEAKER_02: I wish I'd have done something like that.
- 58:16SPEAKER_02: You probably wouldn't have wanted to do it at the time because you're a young lad, and you're like, Oh, this but it's not a cool thing, because you had a bit of money, but also you had a rest as well.
- 58:23SPEAKER_01: I know, but but because you had a bit of money as well, and you get sign on fees and stuff, you could have if you know what you know now, you could have started all that, but I would have got a trade you.
- 58:30SPEAKER_01: Mine's a little bit different.
- 58:31SPEAKER_01: So when I went to Barnsley, I'd say a model.
- 58:34SPEAKER_01: And that final when I when that final I bet you've emailed and messaged every modeling agency in Britain.
- 58:41SPEAKER_01: Listen, don't know if you've I didn't have to.
- 58:43SPEAKER_01: You've seen there's my profile.
- 58:44SPEAKER_01: You've seen it, you see you've seen what happened in the beehive.
- 58:47SPEAKER_01: Relax, Ramos, I'll tell you when you're back.
- 58:50SPEAKER_01: Um so I told you about Barnesley went into administration, right?
- 58:54SPEAKER_01: And I got told I wouldn't be playing for like three months or something at certain times.
- 58:59SPEAKER_01: And then finally they said we've come out of administration, uh, we're gonna sort it out, but it might not be sorted.
- 59:04SPEAKER_01: So this is June.
- 59:06SPEAKER_01: Big brother started, didn't it?
- 59:08SPEAKER_01: Big brother 4 put the application for me.
- 59:10SPEAKER_01: I told you.
- 59:11SPEAKER_01: I said, you know what?
- 59:12SPEAKER_01: I hadn't get in and get out in 56 days and start playing again.
- 59:16SPEAKER_01: But you know what it was?
- 59:16SPEAKER_01: Steve Lovelion was a thing, by the way.
- 59:19SPEAKER_01: I've not seen you in Lovingham.
- 59:20SPEAKER_01: It was one of yours, Cameron, the crap one.
- 59:22SPEAKER_01: He won it from Orkney Islands or something because the chipboard.
- 59:29SPEAKER_01: Boy it's blind.
- 59:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 59:30SPEAKER_01: How funny we see them in the pool and he got the tennis ball in the back of the head.
- 59:33SPEAKER_01: Who was that?
- 59:33SPEAKER_01: Fuck's it, guys.
- 59:35SPEAKER_01: Who was that?
- 59:37SPEAKER_01: Remember they had the chili chili thing.
- 59:40SPEAKER_01: A lass who went to my school was in it, and she's bloody high on that politic, and that narinda.
- 59:46SPEAKER_01: Alright.
- 59:47SPEAKER_01: Did she go to your school?
- 59:49SPEAKER_01: Someone from your a round your neck of the woods, wasn't it?
- 59:51SPEAKER_01: That Anthony Hutton.
- 59:52SPEAKER_01: Uh no, I was more Sunland.
- 59:54SPEAKER_01: Was he?
- 59:54SPEAKER_01: Three years later, I went out and he was marrying people on a stage in Sammy Jackson on a Tuesday night.
- 1:00:01SPEAKER_01: Fall to fall quick.
- 1:00:02SPEAKER_01: You've got to get everything you can in the first 12 months, haven't you?
- 1:00:05SPEAKER_01: PA teacher's probably the obvious one, innit?
- 1:00:08SPEAKER_01: I wouldn't have been a bad show, are I?
- 1:00:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:00:11SPEAKER_01: LL's the perfect place to start a business as a trade.
- 1:00:14SPEAKER_01: I don't like everything, just get jobs for fun.
- 1:00:18SPEAKER_02: I know, it is, it's you'll always you'll always have work.
- 1:00:21SPEAKER_01: Speaking of them, we've got a few we've got to chase up for sponsorship.
- 1:00:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:00:25SPEAKER_01: I will be on yours this week, will we?
- 1:00:28SPEAKER_01: We've got another data go out.
- 1:00:30SPEAKER_01: Right, another one.
- 1:00:32SPEAKER_01: This is from Dane Old.
- 1:00:34SPEAKER_01: I'll have to ask him why it's called Dane Old.
- 1:00:36SPEAKER_01: That's his name.
- 1:00:37SPEAKER_01: Came across your podcast on the off chance, and with me being a Sunland fan and a couple of you being ex-Sunland players, I give it a listen.
- 1:00:44SPEAKER_01: Got it, I've caught up now, we'll have to wait for the weekly episode.
- 1:00:47SPEAKER_01: Top draw lads.
- 1:00:49SPEAKER_01: Has there been a time when someone's come on trial, you've thought he's class, or you've thought he's shit?
- 1:00:55SPEAKER_01: Do you remember Ali Bernabia?
- 1:00:57SPEAKER_01: Oh, by the way, how good was it?
- 1:00:58SPEAKER_01: For City Keegan.
- 1:01:00SPEAKER_01: He came to Sunland on trial and Peter Reed had him like in front of the back four.
- 1:01:05SPEAKER_01: We didn't really need him.
- 1:01:06SPEAKER_01: And then about a couple of weeks later, Keegan had signed him to play like wherever he wanted, and he was an absolute magician.
- 1:01:13SPEAKER_01: Oh, he's on Leone.
- 1:01:15SPEAKER_01: Championship.
- 1:01:16SPEAKER_01: Alex Neal.
- 1:01:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:01:17SPEAKER_01: Manager of Millwall.
- 1:01:18SPEAKER_01: You mark him, Alex.
- 1:01:20SPEAKER_01: It took him about eight minutes and he'd scored.
- 1:01:21SPEAKER_01: I've got the total opposite.
- 1:01:23SPEAKER_02: This kid came on trial to Newcastle.
- 1:01:26SPEAKER_02: And he came in and for training, he put studs and shin pods on.
- 1:01:30SPEAKER_02: Oh no.
- 1:01:31SPEAKER_02: And like like he just touches gonna be out the way when he walks, and he and we had to like send him in.
- 1:01:38SPEAKER_02: Who is it?
- 1:01:38SPEAKER_02: Do you remember his name?
- 1:01:39SPEAKER_02: No, I did just Frank A Fodden kit like crap.
- 1:01:42SPEAKER_02: Like, I don't know, it's not nice to say, but like not crap, horrific.
- 1:01:47SPEAKER_01: Horrific.
- 1:01:47SPEAKER_01: Like, and we're like how old was he then?
- 1:01:49SPEAKER_01: Was this like you think it's been a favour or something?
- 1:01:51SPEAKER_01: Maybe an age or something.
- 1:01:53SPEAKER_02: When you're seeing the sh- you know the shimpads with the ankle bits, yeah.
- 1:01:55SPEAKER_01: But when the studs come out and he was putting it in the middle of the state was a trialist.
- 1:01:58SPEAKER_01: It's Sunland, wasn't he?
- 1:01:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:01:59SPEAKER_01: And then they gave him a yeah, and he had the best debut ever against uh Arsenal.
- 1:02:04SPEAKER_01: We won 1-0.
- 1:02:05SPEAKER_01: They were like, That's Stan, Stan.
- 1:02:06SPEAKER_01: Is that before Celtic obviously?
- 1:02:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:02:08SPEAKER_01: And then he came back.
- 1:02:08SPEAKER_01: You've done all right Celtic before.
- 1:02:10SPEAKER_01: Keen loved him, man.
- 1:02:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he's done all right.
- 1:02:11SPEAKER_01: Stan Varga was a trialist.
- 1:02:13SPEAKER_01: Um Ali Banabi, yeah.
- 1:02:15SPEAKER_01: We had we had some big hitters, and I've and he had Celtic.
- 1:02:20SPEAKER_01: I'm thinking this.
- 1:02:21SPEAKER_01: We had um boy Yamido Baldi, striker.
- 1:02:25SPEAKER_01: Horrific.
- 1:02:25SPEAKER_01: Awesome, honestly horrific.
- 1:02:27SPEAKER_01: I think I've said it before in the like one of the earlier episodes.
- 1:02:30SPEAKER_01: The goal is used to have a competition at shooting after training.
- 1:02:34SPEAKER_01: If he scored, it was like 50 press-ups.
- 1:02:38SPEAKER_01: No joke.
- 1:02:38SPEAKER_01: That was like the running joke between all his all the goalkeepers.
- 1:02:41SPEAKER_01: Like if he managed to score, you had to do like so many press-ups.
- 1:02:45SPEAKER_02: He was a nice big guy, but he just again probably agents or profile, he's about six foot five to be fair, and then this kid who came to Newcastle, Tommy Craig sent him in after about 10 minutes.
- 1:02:55SPEAKER_02: We used to do this passing drill, and Tommy just pulled him and said, Look, just go and get changed and I'll speak to you after training.
- 1:03:01SPEAKER_01: Speaking of passing drills, I've seen that um there's a few simple ones have been on the internet lately, and supporters are going, Christ, these are professional footballers, and then the footballers have went, no, this is what you master the basics all the time, and like your warm-up gets your touch going, gets your little I do passing drills every day.
- 1:03:18SPEAKER_01: Death or it's about good, some of them aren't they?
- 1:03:21SPEAKER_01: Like pass, set, move, you can tell.
- 1:03:22SPEAKER_01: Like, I feel like it's even a warm-up.
- 1:03:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like nine times out of ten, I feel like I'm a good judge.
- 1:03:28SPEAKER_01: I'm out, even like even the way they run.
- 1:03:30SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and how mad's that.
- 1:03:32SPEAKER_01: I know, but it's right though.
- 1:03:33SPEAKER_01: Now you can just so many times you've been right about someone, you're like but as you've got somebody looks as if they've got a bit, and then you see them in the boxes and stuff, and you're like, nah, he's a player.
- 1:03:42SPEAKER_01: Oh, we've forgotten one.
- 1:03:43SPEAKER_01: Matt Jansen came on, he wasn't on trial, he came and trained with us.
- 1:03:46SPEAKER_01: We're still good.
- 1:03:47SPEAKER_01: Chip Kieran from eight yards.
- 1:03:48SPEAKER_01: Ah, there you go.
- 1:03:49SPEAKER_01: What a talent, man.
- 1:03:51SPEAKER_01: He just he just came as Dolly said on his episode.
- 1:03:54SPEAKER_01: He sat with him, he just me and Sir got a bit out of him.
- 1:03:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah, because me and Sir were a bit older, so me and it, me and Sir got a bit out of him, like because we could relate to playing against them for Blackbird.
- 1:04:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:04:04SPEAKER_01: If the rest of the lads hadn't really played there, um, but yeah, he he he was we were like, come on, just sign, like sign.
- 1:04:13SPEAKER_01: Was he not addressing that?
- 1:04:15SPEAKER_01: No, and then he funnily enough, he went and played for Charlie or managed Charlie like for a long time, yeah.
- 1:04:19SPEAKER_01: Six months later, and you're like, Why?
- 1:04:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he was assistant.
- 1:04:22SPEAKER_01: Dude, come across the boy Ben Arthur.
- 1:04:24SPEAKER_01: Is that after you Newcastle?
- 1:04:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah, class never played us.
- 1:04:28SPEAKER_01: No, no, he was well after me, but Olivia Bernard was a trialist.
- 1:04:32SPEAKER_01: Olivia, oh Olivia came, yeah.
- 1:04:34SPEAKER_01: He was a trialist, yeah.
- 1:04:34SPEAKER_01: Did you see some of his highlights and that like when dribbling or something?
- 1:04:37SPEAKER_01: You think how good he must have been in drain?
- 1:04:39SPEAKER_02: You could smell Olivia before you've seen him play.
- 1:04:41unknown: Like he was stuck.
- 1:04:42SPEAKER_02: Pitts.
- 1:04:43SPEAKER_02: Oh hey, class.
- 1:04:45SPEAKER_02: No, listen, listen, mine didn't get off.
- 1:04:47SPEAKER_02: Mine didn't smell.
- 1:04:49SPEAKER_02: I was just having a bad day because of the colour of the t-shirt.
- 1:04:51SPEAKER_01: I went in the bog three times and he's top off like that.
- 1:04:53SPEAKER_01: I seen him checking Martins how far Martins spin today.
- 1:04:56SPEAKER_01: It was a bit of a hype.
- 1:04:57SPEAKER_01: He was like 0.3 miles away.
- 1:04:59SPEAKER_01: I'll just leave it.
- 1:05:00SPEAKER_01: I would walk through next.
- 1:05:01SPEAKER_02: Eh, no, back to Olivia Bernard came with a kid called Pedro Dimas, who was a Portuguese winger.
- 1:05:07SPEAKER_01: Pedro Dimas?
- 1:05:08SPEAKER_02: And he was decent, but he never broke into the first team.
- 1:05:10SPEAKER_02: But Olivia didn't Livio was really good by the time.
- 1:05:12SPEAKER_01: For that Sunderland fan, Lionel Perez and David Bellion are trialists.
- 1:05:17SPEAKER_01: And Lionel Perez played a season and went to Newcastle on a free keeper.
- 1:05:22SPEAKER_01: And David Bellion went to Manu.
- 1:05:24SPEAKER_01: He did the winger.
- 1:05:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:05:26SPEAKER_01: He was he was quick.
- 1:05:27SPEAKER_01: You ever went in somewhere as like a trialist or just to train?
- 1:05:30SPEAKER_01: I went to Doncaster, it wasn't good enough.
- 1:05:32SPEAKER_01: How horrible was it?
- 1:05:32SPEAKER_01: I went to train with Hartleypool and said there's a there's a deal there for you.
- 1:05:36SPEAKER_01: And we got back from Holland and the chairman just said there'sn't out there.
- 1:05:41SPEAKER_01: And then that's how thankfully, because I would have signed there, Hartleypool, just before coming here.
- 1:05:46SPEAKER_02: This is before coming, yeah.
- 1:05:47SPEAKER_02: I went to Doncaster for a week and I was that was terrible.
- 1:05:50SPEAKER_01: Um did your chatting were you chatting in press?
- 1:05:52SPEAKER_01: I don't know what it was, it just overthinked.
- 1:05:55SPEAKER_02: I think there were maybe championship.
- 1:05:56SPEAKER_02: No, Lee One top, you know, cops and and
- 1:06:05SPEAKER_01: So that's the what yeah is that skip then?
- 1:06:06SPEAKER_01: Oh Jesus Christ.
- 1:06:07SPEAKER_01: Where did you leave to go to there then?
- 1:06:09SPEAKER_01: I'm trying to think now.
- 1:06:10SPEAKER_01: Um well you would have been here.
- 1:06:12SPEAKER_01: I think I got paid up off Gretna.
- 1:06:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so you're 267.
- 1:06:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and then I went there.
- 1:06:16SPEAKER_01: So that's O'Connor right back and on the spite leave on the Friday after training.
- 1:06:21SPEAKER_02: I didn't even go to see the I didn't go, I just went.
- 1:06:24SPEAKER_02: And they didn't obviously get back in touch because Neil Sullivan was like aye.
- 1:06:27SPEAKER_02: But I was I was it was a bad week.
- 1:06:29SPEAKER_02: Painter?
- 1:06:30unknown: No.
- 1:06:31SPEAKER_01: No, I don't lose that.
- 1:06:33SPEAKER_01: We were we had some battles with them, like oh, it's Jubie Green in midfield.
- 1:06:36SPEAKER_01: Not Stuby Green.
- 1:06:38SPEAKER_01: Oh um Green.
- 1:06:39SPEAKER_01: Paul Green.
- 1:06:39SPEAKER_01: Paul Green.
- 1:06:40SPEAKER_01: Paul Green, yeah.
- 1:06:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:06:41SPEAKER_01: Ravenhill, Ricky Ravenhill.
- 1:06:42SPEAKER_01: Ricky Ravenhill.
- 1:06:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:06:44SPEAKER_01: Aye, try list.
- 1:06:46SPEAKER_01: Oh, we had um at Barnesy, Stephen McLean.
- 1:06:50SPEAKER_01: Set it forward.
- 1:06:50SPEAKER_01: Set it forward.
- 1:06:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:06:52SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 1:06:52SPEAKER_01: So he came, he St.
- 1:06:54SPEAKER_01: Johnson, and then he pissed off and we got a ball again.
- 1:06:57SPEAKER_01: Because apparently we were in administration.
- 1:06:59SPEAKER_01: We were slagging the club off loads.
- 1:07:01SPEAKER_01: And he went, he didn't have it, he went and signed my chef wed, scored loads of goals.
- 1:07:05SPEAKER_01: I did I.
- 1:07:08SPEAKER_01: That's a good question, that.
- 1:07:09SPEAKER_01: It is.
- 1:07:10SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 1:07:10SPEAKER_01: Anything else?
- 1:07:12SPEAKER_01: What you're doing this week?
- 1:07:13SPEAKER_01: Not a lot.
- 1:07:14SPEAKER_01: Just erm going on holders under Turkey.
- 1:07:17SPEAKER_01: So you're not here next month.
- 1:07:18SPEAKER_02: Marmous Turkey.
- 1:07:19SPEAKER_01: No, you have to survive without us.
- 1:07:21SPEAKER_01: I don't know if we will, will we?
- 1:07:24SPEAKER_01: Hopefully anyone will get in.
- 1:07:26SPEAKER_01: Will that t-shirt be in the suitcase?
- 1:07:29SPEAKER_01: Can I just put this record straight by the way?
- 1:07:30SPEAKER_01: There's no record to be put straight.
- 1:07:32SPEAKER_01: Did you or did you not have the biggest dab on?
- 1:07:34SPEAKER_01: I did, I did.
- 1:07:34SPEAKER_01: It was.
- 1:07:35SPEAKER_01: Listen, see if you want to deny it, there's full evidence of you in the toilet.
- 1:07:39SPEAKER_01: Top off under the Dyson.
- 1:07:41SPEAKER_01: But once it's done, we did record quite a bit, so we've got to do it.
- 1:07:45SPEAKER_01: Well, we need to go through it and see if it's maybe put it behind a what do you call them, uh paywall or something?
- 1:07:54SPEAKER_01: Nah, I just just work all week and then finish Saturday, go hold a Sunday.
- 1:07:59SPEAKER_01: Looking forward to it.
- 1:08:00SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna go to his game Saturday, I think.
- 1:08:03SPEAKER_01: I've got a question for you.
- 1:08:04SPEAKER_01: Go on then.
- 1:08:05SPEAKER_01: When do you start or when does the missus start packing her case?
- 1:08:08SPEAKER_01: Yesterday.
- 1:08:09SPEAKER_01: So what I mean.
- 1:08:11SPEAKER_01: Nah, she'll do it in the next day or two.
- 1:08:12SPEAKER_01: I drive over my mother's.
- 1:08:14SPEAKER_01: I ain't a or does she can lay it out.
- 1:08:19SPEAKER_01: My missus puts it in the car.
- 1:08:21SPEAKER_01: She doesn't find up herself and vacuum packs them.
- 1:08:24SPEAKER_01: And she's absolutely buzzing.
- 1:08:25SPEAKER_02: I had to pay extra last year and that was on the way there.
- 1:08:28SPEAKER_02: No, because the suitcase was too heavy.
- 1:08:30SPEAKER_02: Oh, did you?
- 1:08:31SPEAKER_02: Oh, that's my pay.
- 1:08:33SPEAKER_01: I would rather open up my suitcase in front of everybody, put it in a Sainsbury's bag or sort of a Sainsbury's bag or something, then pay the extra nine pound.
- 1:08:41SPEAKER_01: It does my head in.
- 1:08:43SPEAKER_01: She goes over button.
- 1:08:44SPEAKER_01: Do you remember when you uh lost your case at Turkey?
- 1:08:46SPEAKER_01: But it's the best I've ever seen you.
- 1:08:47SPEAKER_01: You went down the shop.
- 1:08:48SPEAKER_01: Well the thing is in turkey.
- 1:08:49SPEAKER_01: All the fake yeah, it was the best I've ever seen.
- 1:08:51SPEAKER_01: I had a full outfit on for about 12 quid.
- 1:08:53SPEAKER_01: I didn't have to.
- 1:08:53SPEAKER_01: How long did them fake Mike Air Force Ones last?
- 1:08:57SPEAKER_01: Did they kill?
- 1:08:58SPEAKER_01: Didn't bend.
- 1:09:00SPEAKER_01: Hey, talk with them on Sunday though.
- 1:09:02SPEAKER_02: What?
- 1:09:02SPEAKER_01: We were talking about I don't know what we're gonna wear.
- 1:09:04SPEAKER_01: Like, ah, quite casual, might wear shorts.
- 1:09:06SPEAKER_01: Turns up like a Reese mannequin.
- 1:09:07SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 1:09:08SPEAKER_01: Brand new trainers on.
- 1:09:10SPEAKER_01: Were brand new the t-shirt was even like a what wasn't it like a normal t-shirt that we had on?
- 1:09:16SPEAKER_01: It was like a cottony kind of fancy.
- 1:09:18SPEAKER_02: What about when he was telling us that's like the jacket, the jacket?
- 1:09:22SPEAKER_01: What about on the WhatsApp could be saying no shorts?
- 1:09:24SPEAKER_01: As if like we're not allowed to wear them.
- 1:09:26SPEAKER_01: I thought we'll go short.
- 1:09:26SPEAKER_01: What do you do?
- 1:09:28SPEAKER_01: And getting told to wear and not to drink too quick.
- 1:09:31SPEAKER_01: Well, to be fair, I thought we had lost them early doors because he's fit.
- 1:09:35SPEAKER_01: I thought, is he taking a turn?
- 1:09:37SPEAKER_01: Looks a bit green, not really as realising.
- 1:09:39SPEAKER_01: He had the freaking Tyne River there.
- 1:09:41SPEAKER_01: The river we are there.
- 1:09:43SPEAKER_01: He had Lake Placid on his face.
- 1:09:45SPEAKER_01: Honestly, that walk from the stations, that fly club was horrendous.
- 1:09:47SPEAKER_01: I wanted to go home.
- 1:09:48SPEAKER_01: I thought something had happened.
- 1:09:49SPEAKER_01: He was like that, and I was like, is he alright?
- 1:09:51SPEAKER_01: I wanted to go home, mate.
- 1:09:52SPEAKER_01: I was like, I can't do this.
- 1:09:54SPEAKER_01: You start sweating though, and it gets worse though, because you think that's what you can think about.
- 1:09:57SPEAKER_01: And then you piped up.
- 1:10:00SPEAKER_01: I noticed it for the back, that's why I knew it was bad.
- 1:10:01SPEAKER_01: You didn't even left it.
- 1:10:02SPEAKER_01: Anyway, moved up.
- 1:10:03SPEAKER_01: It was just kind of seating around the back of your back again.
