- 0:04MBR talk. Hey, thanks for supporting our
- 0:07channel by watching and listening find.
- 0:09Us on the web at MB radio dot. Welcome to Veteran Talk with
- 0:13Magic Mike, where what's important to you is important to
- 0:17us. Let's talk.
- 0:20I'm your host, Magic Mike, and today we're diving deep into
- 0:24something close to my heart, how sharing your story and getting
- 0:28behind the mic can be a powerful form of rehabilitation.
- 0:31Whether you're fresh out of service, years into civilian
- 0:34life, or somewhere in between, We've got a space for you here
- 0:38because everyone has a story, and broadcasting is how we tell
- 0:42it. And welcome everybody to the
- 0:46show. I know it's been a hot minute
- 0:47since I've been online. I did have surgery.
- 0:49It was great, it was successful, everything is good.
- 0:51Nothing to worry about yet Anyway, I do miss you guys, each
- 0:56and everyone of you. I've got some great emails that
- 0:59I will go through. If I don't get a chance to go
- 1:01through some of your emails or some of your requests today,
- 1:05please forgive me. I am trying to do my best.
- 1:08The office is set up, it's great, it's running.
- 1:11I just got things I got to put up and it's just absolutely
- 1:14crazy. So if if I don't get to your
- 1:19e-mail today or get a chance to address your questions, please
- 1:22forgive me. I promise I'll do it on my next
- 1:24show. Like I said, I'm doing a lot of
- 1:26catch UPS. I will tell you this though, I
- 1:29went to go get my iPhone fixed today and assure you and I guess
- 1:33is the insurance company that does it right.
- 1:35And man, they are and they, they, they, they aired their
- 1:40dirty laundry out. The guy said, hey, yeah, we just
- 1:43fired everybody for theft. And you know, I'm coming from
- 1:46another state to help out. And So what was it you dropped
- 1:51off again? I'm like, wow, very dirty
- 1:53laundry out. So I guess they're having some
- 1:54problems over there. So I wish them well.
- 1:56I did get my iPhone back and fixed though.
- 1:59So I guess, I guess it wasn't one of I guess I wasn't one of
- 2:02the problems or whatever. So as you all know, that world
- 2:06suicide or world suicide observance, I don't know why
- 2:11they call it observance, but it is September the 10th, right?
- 2:15I know that we have September 11th that's coming up soon, 25th
- 2:20anniversary, I believe of the 9/11 tax on the twin Towers and
- 2:25which changed our world as we know it, our world, not our
- 2:28country just, but our world in general.
- 2:31And you know, I know it's difficult for a lot of people.
- 2:34Some of the emails that I have talked about that one individual
- 2:38wrote me and he asked to remain anonymous and, and I'll give him
- 2:41that, you know, that that honest request.
- 2:44But before I go into the emails and, and answer some of the
- 2:47questions and stuff like that, thank you to my huge sponsor Mod
- 2:51Pizza, phenomenal pizza comedy franchise.
- 2:55But thank you for them being a sponsor.
- 2:58Thank you to Dunkin' Donuts and Jersey Mike's for being sponsors
- 3:01of the military broadcast radio as well and Sony Entertainment.
- 3:06Thank you so much for being out there.
- 3:08Thank you to my producer, my executive producer, my all my
- 3:11peoples out there. Thank you so much because I
- 3:12never give them enough props and enough thank yous.
- 3:16I've been on a radio day for like 2 weeks now, healing and
- 3:20everything is good I guess. But yeah, I'm back.
- 3:25So right off the bat, thank you to everybody who, who gave me
- 3:28the, the great wishes and stuff like that.
- 3:31So one of the, one of the emails that came up to me was about
- 3:36this this month, right? September.
- 3:38So September is world suicide prevention or awareness
- 3:43observation. I don't like that word.
- 3:45But anyways, if you have a loved one or somebody you care about
- 3:48truly dearly and you know that they're going through a
- 3:51difficult time, make sure you're there for them.
- 3:53I mean, it's, it's, it is so important to just be there for
- 3:57somebody when they need you, right?
- 3:59I've always been there for, for people or I try to be there for
- 4:02a lot of people. And it's, it's very difficult
- 4:06for people going through those things.
- 4:07You know, I've, I've been there myself and, and struggle with
- 4:10those things. And it's just, it, it means the
- 4:14world just picking up a phone call and saying, Hey, look,
- 4:16don't want nothing from you, don't need nothing from you.
- 4:18I just want to say thank you and thank you for being there for me
- 4:21and really appreciate you. Sometimes that goes a long way.
- 4:26I had to make sure look and make sure my mic wasn't muted like it
- 4:28was last time when I was in my show.
- 4:31If you're watching me on TikTok live over here, thank you for
- 4:33watching me. I really appreciate it.
- 4:35Give us a drop. You can watch us on military
- 4:37broadcast radio, the app. You can watch us on Facebook,
- 4:40Instagram, Kik. We're on a bunch of different
- 4:43platforms as well as my TikTok live.
- 4:45So feel free to, you know, jump in, give us a phone call.
- 4:49Our lines are always open. You can give me a phone call
- 4:51here. You can give me a message in our
- 4:54comment box on stream yard or Facebook or whatever, be it.
- 4:58So again, thank you to everybody.
- 5:01Without further ado, one of my emails states being September
- 5:04Suicide Prevention month. I would like to take a moment
- 5:07and say that after serving long term, long time in combat and
- 5:12returning home, I still reach out to some of my battle buddies
- 5:16to make sure that they're doing OK and that they are safe.
- 5:19This should not be a once a month observance, but rather an
- 5:22ongoing thing. And, and I think it is for the
- 5:24most part for veterans, right? We, we, we tend to kind of look
- 5:28out for each other and take care of each other and, and watch
- 5:31over one another. Another person wrote.
- 5:36I'm a retired Colonel of the United States Army.
- 5:38I've watched the show for the first time.
- 5:40Couple of the episodes were hit or miss.
- 5:42I wish I wish for you to dive a little bit deeper into suicide
- 5:46prevention. What things are takeaways for
- 5:49you? Sounds like a military thing,
- 5:51right? What are your takeaways and just
- 5:54an after action review of military game major after action
- 5:59review of your show. Some of your episodes were great
- 6:02and touch touch on some pretty important post deployment as
- 6:07well as post military keynotes and and I'll do that from time
- 6:11to time. I just don't want my show to be
- 6:13overwhelmed with things of that nature.
- 6:16And you know, it's not that I don't like having guests on my
- 6:19show. I love having guests and I love
- 6:21having guests appearances. I've got, you know, quite a few
- 6:24people that wanted to come on the show and stuff and and and I
- 6:26love that and I love having people on the show.
- 6:29I just, you know, getting back into the routine of everything
- 6:33and and after I mean, I'm doing amazingly well and I really
- 6:36appreciate all of your well wishes, you know, both
- 6:39physically, mentally and emotionally.
- 6:41I'm doing great and, you know, bouncing back from from almost a
- 6:46year of of Lowe's, if you will. So I really appreciate that and
- 6:51you know, I will. But like I said, I don't want
- 6:53the show to be just nothing about the woes and me's or the
- 6:57OR the Oh my gosh, is or anything like that.
- 6:58I like that. I always like to have a little
- 7:00positive and stuff I had, yeah, that e-mail I'll save till the
- 7:04end of the show because it's yeah, I'll save that until the
- 7:07end of the show. Here's a text message I
- 7:10received. Hey, Magic, Appreciate your
- 7:12show. Watched a couple of episodes
- 7:14last time where you talked about relationships and PTSD.
- 7:16It was great. Can you touch base on that?
- 7:18Again? When I do a show, I, I don't
- 7:21mind touching base on stuff like that.
- 7:22I mean, it's great. And that's why our shows are
- 7:24recorded. So please feel free to go back
- 7:26and watch any of our shows either on YouTube or Spotify or
- 7:31wherever we have them at. And you know, I'll, I'll try to
- 7:35do more shows in the future and stuff.
- 7:37But I mean, it's again, like I said, I'm getting back into it
- 7:39and, and I'll just share it with you.
- 7:41You know, everybody knows it. In November of last year, I went
- 7:43through a really rough time and you know, it was probably one of
- 7:49the hardest times of my life, right?
- 7:52And it was readjusting to, to a different life, I guess.
- 7:57And you know, when, when there's a song out there and, and it's,
- 8:00it's, it's a great song. But anyways, it's you know, the
- 8:04old saying is when a heart breaks, it doesn't break even,
- 8:05right? 2 two people don't have the same
- 8:07hurt, right? One person goes on lives their
- 8:09life, yay and all this. And the other person just is in
- 8:11misery, right? And so I was the I was the guy
- 8:15that was a misery. I'm not saying that they went on
- 8:17live their life like yay, but I'm just saying I was a misery
- 8:19and I'm trying to figure out where I belonged and where I
- 8:22needed to be and stuff like that.
- 8:23And I'm there. I'm there now and I I appreciate
- 8:25the surgeons that that looked after me.
- 8:27I appreciate all of my doctors. The staff at Birmingham Medical
- 8:33Center have been phenomenal, at Huntsville Medical Center been
- 8:36phenomenal in Chattanooga have been phenomenal and even in
- 8:41Cincinnati as well as out on the West Coast have been phenomenal.
- 8:44So thank you to all of them and the team put it together.
- 8:48A great shout out to Doctor Dean.
- 8:49I know you're out there watching me.
- 8:50I appreciate you. But yeah, I mean, it's it's
- 8:54about bouncing back and that's what I'm doing.
- 8:56I'm on the road of recovery, if you will.
- 8:58So thank you to all my supporters who watch the show.
- 9:01If you watch the show and you have any negative things like,
- 9:04you know, I don't like the way you do this or that, you know, I
- 9:08appreciate that feedback too. And I'll try to work around
- 9:10that. But it's my show and you have
- 9:15the option to change the channel or not watch it.
- 9:18That's totally up to you. So if you have never picked up a
- 9:24weapon and protected the Constitution of the United
- 9:27States, then quiet, quiet. Yeah, you, you have no business
- 9:33telling me what to do, what not to do, or where to go or not to
- 9:35go. Seriously.
- 9:37It's a constitutional right for me to be here and do my show.
- 9:39If you don't like it, that's fine.
- 9:41I'm OK with that. I'm not going to cry about it.
- 9:43And you know why Watch my show. That's that's, I mean, people
- 9:46don't get it, man, in this world and the way in the day and age,
- 9:49man, get over it. Move on.
- 9:52Like go watch another show. Go watch 90 Day Fiance or
- 9:56something like that. But I really appreciate those
- 9:59who do support me and I'm going to read you this text right
- 10:01here. Hey Magic, I serve at you in the
- 10:04United States military. Things weren't always great in
- 10:07the military, but you always made it fun.
- 10:09You were one of my first non commissioned officers NC OS You
- 10:12taught me do the right thing even when nobody's looking, not
- 10:16to walk over cigarette butts, pick them up even though I never
- 10:18smoked and to always, always be concerned for my battle buddies
- 10:23and my, my my. I don't know what that word is.
- 10:27I can't even read it. I think he's trying to say my
- 10:30comrades, it's spelled wrong. But anyway, comrades with AK, no
- 10:36bueno, no bueno. I'm a bad speller.
- 10:39You don't believe me? Ask my ex, she'll tell you she
- 10:41used to. She used to beat up on me and
- 10:42Scrabble all the time. So bad that I had to cheat all
- 10:46the time. I would have to hide, like, the
- 10:48little tiles in between my toes and stuff just to make up words.
- 10:51But in fairness, she'd make up words like OEI.
- 10:54Oh, that's a word. No, it's not.
- 10:55Look it up. And I'd lose 100 points.
- 10:57So there you go. Don't ever play Scrabble with
- 10:59that person. If you're out there and you're
- 11:00dating her now, don't play Scrabble.
- 11:02You're going to lose. Yeah, I'm doing.
- 11:05I'm doing quite well after the surgery.
- 11:07My voice is a little bit good, as you guys can tell.
- 11:10And sitting here looking for the one e-mail that I wanted to
- 11:14read. You OK?
- 11:16This e-mail kind of hits home. This e-mail is from an
- 11:20individual who it's not from the individual, it's from the
- 11:24individual's girlfriend or fiance who he actually committed
- 11:28suicide. So I, I think it's only proper
- 11:31that I read this try to give you some insight of why I do this.
- 11:41It's, it's been quite a few years now.
- 11:44My, our daughter is our daughter is quite grown now and she is
- 11:48hold on a second. I'm going to put this up here.
- 11:49So I'm actually looking at the screen here.
- 11:52All right, there it is. And hey, Mike, I just want to
- 11:59reach out to you. It's been quite a few years
- 12:01since we've talked. My daughter has grown, our
- 12:04daughter has grown now and going through the second grade as of
- 12:10we speak. I can't believe how the time is
- 12:12passed. I can't thank you so much for
- 12:15all you've done for the community as well As for us.
- 12:18As you know, this is a topic that is near and dear to my
- 12:21heart. I'm not going to say any names.
- 12:24I'm I'm not going to read the names because I mean, it's, I
- 12:26just think it's kind of personal.
- 12:28But, and I got chewed out in the e-mail, by the way, last time I
- 12:31did read out some names, somebody, I don't think you can
- 12:34do better than that. OK, whatever.
- 12:35So I won't read names that are anonymous, but the gist is, is
- 12:41this is one of my soldiers that came back from Iraq and
- 12:43committed suicide. Great kid, great person, an
- 12:48amazing funny guy. Like kind of like Robin
- 12:51Williams, man. He always made me laugh, always
- 12:52made everybody laugh. Great basketball player and just
- 12:57a smart kid, man. Just a smart kid and just a
- 13:00senseless loss of a life, you know, So the gist of the of the
- 13:07text message is just as basically saying, you know, make
- 13:10sure that we continue the good fight and the good fight is to
- 13:12make sure that our battle buddies are taken care of.
- 13:14Make sure everybody's out there is being being seen, heard and
- 13:19getting the help that they need. They need, you know, and I and I
- 13:21still do have my you know, I just got restricted on TikTok, I
- 13:30guess because I used the word suicide, maybe I don't know.
- 13:34Anyways, So what do you want me to call it?
- 13:37Self mood? Yeah, that that makes no sense
- 13:41anyway, ticky talk. So yeah, I mean, it's it's
- 13:44basically we need to go out there and we need to make sure
- 13:46that our battle buddies are are good, make sure that they're
- 13:49they're healthy and safe and just a check up every now and
- 13:51then. Hey, how's it going?
- 13:53Yeah, you can't be, you can't sit there for six years, be in a
- 13:56relationship with somebody and then all of a sudden be like,
- 14:00you know, no contact, don't really care.
- 14:02It doesn't work that way, right? I mean, be in station with
- 14:05somebody for four years, two years or, or six years, right.
- 14:08And you're, you're in that, that, that military setting with
- 14:13them, right. And it's a relationship of
- 14:14brotherhood and sisterhood. You can't just sit there and
- 14:17turn your back and say, I forget you guys.
- 14:18I I really don't care right? It doesn't work that way.
- 14:21You got to make sure that they're OK Make sure you know,
- 14:23sometimes we got to suck it up. My restriction said your live
- 14:26contains themes that some may find uncomfortable and has been
- 14:31restricted reasons suicide and self harm.
- 14:35All righty, your live is not eligible for recommendation
- 14:37restriction and search results. OK, whatever.
- 14:40So OK live Tiktok live just restricted me for using that
- 14:46word. Sorry about that.
- 14:48I, I don't know what word they want me to use, but whatever.
- 14:51So back to what I was saying. Just you just got to make sure
- 14:57that you're, you're left and your right are taken care of,
- 14:59right, Because that's all we really have, right?
- 15:01It's, it's not about color, creed, religion or whatever, be
- 15:05it. It's just it's sad.
- 15:06It really is sad, especially in our times right now, everything
- 15:10that's going on in our world with Iran, with politics, with
- 15:13the gas prices, I mean, God leads.
- 15:15You guys see the gas prices or they're out of control.
- 15:18I mean, it's how crazy. But what do we do from there,
- 15:23right? What is it that we you know, how
- 15:27how do we check on each other? And it's just a simple phone
- 15:29call or a text message, man. It could mean a difference.
- 15:32I will tell you that in the last year that I was down in the
- 15:37dumps and going through my situation, I had somebody out of
- 15:41the blue reach out to me just out of the blue, just three
- 15:43people. They were like, hey, man, we
- 15:45don't know why we were sitting around having a beer and we
- 15:47start joking and laughing and thought of you about how funny
- 15:50you were and we wanted to call you.
- 15:52I was sitting in bed like bummed out at life and, and it meant
- 15:57the world to me that they called me and we chatted for a while.
- 16:00And I mean it's, it's stuff like that that really does mean mean
- 16:04the world to somebody. So I guess an observance of
- 16:09September the 10th being, you know, suicide prevention or
- 16:12suicide observance or whatever. Should I, should I give a
- 16:16disclaimer to TikTok that if, if I am like it, this, it's not I'm
- 16:22not promoting. I don't know.
- 16:23Anyway, I'm just going to let that be.
- 16:25So, yeah, reach out to your battle buddy, make sure they're
- 16:27OK. You know, H train is my is my
- 16:30battle buddy has been a battle buddy for over 20 years.
- 16:33We serve and Iraq together, right?
- 16:34And I check on him. He checks on me every now and
- 16:36then. Right when he doesn't hear from
- 16:37me, he goes, hey, what's up, man?
- 16:38You good. So make sure you check on each
- 16:41other. Make sure that you have the
- 16:44opportunity to listen to somebody.
- 16:46Just check on them, man. Just check.
- 16:48Just check on them. Say, hey, how's it going?
- 16:50Are you good? Is everything all right with
- 16:53you? Just a simple text message, man.
- 16:59You know, we get right after September, we got October and
- 17:02right after Halloween, guess we got Thanksgiving after
- 17:04Thanksgiving. Guess we got Christmas and the
- 17:06holidays upon us. And it is a very trying time,
- 17:09especially a lot of people are coming back from, you know,
- 17:11deployments. We all saw the, the ship that
- 17:13was out there, that was on deployment out in the Middle
- 17:16East. It's now in the port of Greece.
- 17:18I think it is. They're getting a little bit of
- 17:20R&R there now, getting off that ship, getting there, getting
- 17:22their sea legs a little bit stable now.
- 17:24So God bless them. You know, it's, it's definitely
- 17:28difficult. It's difficult out there for
- 17:30everybody. So make sure, and this is my
- 17:33pledge, just make sure you reach out to somebody and just say,
- 17:35hey, how's it going? Honestly, honest talk, how's it
- 17:39going? What's going on?
- 17:40What do you need? What can we do for you?
- 17:43And it goes a long way. It really does.
- 17:45So I don't I don't know. I don't know how else to tell
- 17:52you guys how important it is to reach out to somebody and just
- 17:54ask them how their day is even when they're introvert.
- 17:57Hey, how's your day going? Listen, I get it.
- 18:00Some people are the whole humbug.
- 18:02You know, they're going to sit there and be whole humbug all
- 18:04the time. Doesn't mean you can't reach out
- 18:07to him to say, hey, how's it going?
- 18:09Right. Hey, how's it going?
- 18:11You good? Everything good And that's it.
- 18:13Be done with it. So we're going to take our first
- 18:16radio break here and when we come back, I'll read some more
- 18:19emails and some more text messages.
- 18:20Like I said, I've been gone for a couple of weeks and I know
- 18:22that I got to do some catching up, but we'll get in a little
- 18:26bit and we'll talk very briefly on the Major Richard Star act
- 18:29that is still still there. It's still there.
- 18:34So we'll try to figure that out. And everything else is going on
- 18:36with the, you know, we've got, they've been in recess for a
- 18:40little while. So you're not going to hear
- 18:43anything changing there with that said.
- 18:46But I don't know. I just think that I think, I
- 18:50think they just got to get a move on with that.
- 18:52Got to get a move on with anyway.
- 18:54Yeah, nobody ever said I was. All right to a hero.
- 22:53And we're back here on veterans talk with military broadcast
- 22:56radio. So here is the the gist.
- 22:59If if you're if you're just coming on the show, here is
- 23:02pretty much the gist. So somebody asked me to talk a
- 23:05little bit about the veterans take care of Veterans Act,
- 23:10right? The the veterans that was it was
- 23:15just shot down basically. And, and I think the biggest
- 23:17problem was because they were talking about the sleep apnea
- 23:21and the tinnitus hearing loss, right?
- 23:26Was the biggest bugaboos or pet peeves for that.
- 23:30So here's a fun fact. I mean, I don't know if you guys
- 23:34knew this and not to get political because I don't want
- 23:36to get political, but actually under the Joe Biden presidency
- 23:41was when they were talking about taking tinnitus and sleep apnea
- 23:46actually off the table. So the VA needs some kind of a
- 23:51guidance to move along because they have to make a decision,
- 23:54right? So they're going to make a
- 23:54decision on this regardless of whether if the take care of
- 23:57Veterans Act passes or not this year.
- 24:00They're still going to move forward with taking the sleep
- 24:03apnea and the tinnitus and re evaluating them, right?
- 24:06That's been in the talk and in the work.
- 24:08So I'm, listen, I'm just telling you what's going on with that as
- 24:14far as the, I mean, I, I don't want to beat a dead horse, man.
- 24:20But it's like it seems like that they're, they're, they're not
- 24:22going to move on it until either end of September or maybe even
- 24:30next year, right? So we're all kind of holding our
- 24:33breath for that and stuff. And, and I know there's a lot of
- 24:35Gold Star family members out there.
- 24:37And, and it just so you know, my last episode 2 weeks ago before
- 24:41I took a hiatus and stuff, I was not talking bad or I'll about
- 24:46anybody in the Gold Star or whatever, be it.
- 24:48And if I have some misinformation out there, if you
- 24:50misunderstand me, I apologize, but that's not my intention.
- 24:56So, and I'm not going to recap everything that I went over
- 25:00because I got a, a pretty irate e-mail from somebody that was
- 25:04like, you know, all this and that and you, you misread and
- 25:06you missed did this and you can do better and whatever there.
- 25:10There's a lot of things you can do better as well.
- 25:12So I just want to say that, you know, the Gold Star spouses that
- 25:18are out there, Gold Star family members that are out there,
- 25:21right? The Love Lives On Act is part of
- 25:24that taking care of veterans bill.
- 25:26So it was like taking all of these different things and
- 25:29putting in one big bill, kind of like the big beautiful bill that
- 25:32that that our president had. It's kind of like they were
- 25:34trying to do that. So if you don't understand how
- 25:37our legislation works and how we get bills passed and stuff like
- 25:42that, you might want to dig a little bit deeper into the
- 25:46United States of America and how we pass bills, right?
- 25:49So if a bill has to do with money, they got to find out
- 25:52where they're going to take the money from, right?
- 25:54Where are they going to get that extra money?
- 25:56And that's one of the biggest problems that they were having
- 25:59with the major Richest Star Act, the Love Lives On Act, and all
- 26:02these other bills. So if they take those bills and
- 26:05they kind of wrap them into one big beautiful build, you don't
- 26:08have a bunch of little bills trying to pass, right?
- 26:10You just got these little bills, right?
- 26:12You got major registrar act, the love lives on act, the take care
- 26:16of homeless veterans Act. You've got these are all kinds
- 26:18of bills coming at you. Well, how about we take this and
- 26:21wrap it into one huge bill, have sub lines of that bill and this
- 26:26is how we get it passed. And that's what they were trying
- 26:28to do. And I was trying to explain
- 26:32that, but it wasn't, I guess coming out right.
- 26:35I guess, or somebody wasn't really understanding it.
- 26:37I don't know, but I, I don't know anyway, I can't, I don't
- 26:45know, I, I can't tell you that I, I don't, I don't have the
- 26:54time to sit here and break it down Barney's style or Sesame
- 26:56Street for everybody and explain how bills work, right?
- 27:00I did my research. I did due diligence on my
- 27:02research and this is how it was blah, blah, blah, blah, blah,
- 27:05blah. And, you know, if I offended
- 27:07anybody, like I said, it wasn't my, my intention.
- 27:11So that's, that's about as short of an apology as you're going to
- 27:15get. So, you know, again, if you
- 27:18don't like it, you can change the channel.
- 27:19I know I'm being arrogant about that, but I, I really do wish
- 27:21you well. I don't have time for criticism
- 27:24that comes from somebody who actually has anyways, moving
- 27:32right along. So one of the good things is
- 27:35though, is that they did, they do have a lot of HUD Vash
- 27:37vouchers. So HUD Vash is obviously housing
- 27:41Urban Development, right? The, the, the homelessness and
- 27:44stuff like that. They have these vouchers and
- 27:46they have a lot of unused vouchers.
- 27:48And they decided they passed through Congress that they could
- 27:50take these unused HUD Vash vouchers and give them to
- 27:54homeless veterans to allow them to have homes.
- 27:58When I say homes, places to live, right, apartments or a
- 28:00house or whatever be it to live in, to get them off the streets.
- 28:03And, and I think that's huge. And that, that, I mean, kudos to
- 28:06Boast and all those other senators that are in there.
- 28:09And, and this is the thing that kills me is that, you know,
- 28:13we're so divided across the board, you know, Republican and
- 28:16Democrat and whatever be it, and we're so divided.
- 28:19But when it comes to our veterans or military, nobody's
- 28:22divided at all. Nobody's divided.
- 28:25They're they're actually a lot of bipartisan support for both.
- 28:29As a matter of fact, here's a fun fact.
- 28:31The major Major Richard Star Act was first announced and spoken
- 28:35into existence by a Democrat. So, so it's, this isn't a
- 28:41Democrat or Republican thing. It's about doing the right thing
- 28:43for veterans, right? And acknowledge them at
- 28:45acknowledging their service in the military.
- 28:47I'm acknowledging that they had to, you know, retire early, were
- 28:50forced to retire and and and that's what it's about, right.
- 28:54So, and if and and here I, I forgot to say this because I had
- 28:56somebody text me and said, how do I get on your show?
- 28:59If you're a veteran or the spouse of a veteran or loved one
- 29:03of a veteran, mom, dad, sister, brother or whatever, and you
- 29:06want to be on the show, Absolutely drop me a line at
- 29:09Magic Mike. Magic Mike at MB Radio dot US
- 29:14and you know, I'll, I'll give you my cell phone number.
- 29:17I don't care. Just just we'll figure it out.
- 29:19We'll get you online and we'll set you up.
- 29:22You can be on, you can be on the show.
- 29:23It's not a big deal. Send you a link.
- 29:26We can meet somewhere, whatever. I can set up everything.
- 29:28It it's up to you how we do it. But yeah, you're more than
- 29:32welcome to be on the show because I've gotten that text
- 29:33message a couple times where people have asked, hey, how can
- 29:36I be on your show? I'm a veteran.
- 29:39I would love to be on the show just to talk about what's
- 29:40important to me and other veterans as well.
- 29:44One of the things they talked about in their, in their e-mail
- 29:46was VA claims. And, and I'll touch base a
- 29:48little bit on that. If you are a veteran.
- 29:52And I think 2 weeks ago when I did my show, I went on a little
- 29:54bit of a rant and I think it was misunderstood.
- 29:58If you are a veteran, you are filing a claim with the VA.
- 30:02I'm all for that. I'm, I'm not saying you
- 30:04shouldn't file a claim or anything like that.
- 30:07You should file a claim. Absolutely right.
- 30:11Don't give up filing your claim. I'll say that again.
- 30:16Don't give up on filing your claim because somebody wrote me
- 30:18a, a kind of a nasty e-mail and said, oh, you're telling people
- 30:21not to file claims or they shouldn't file claims or or
- 30:23whatever. What about you?
- 30:25That's that's not what I'm saying.
- 30:27What I said in my last show was and I talked about it was is
- 30:31that I don't think it's right. This is only my opinion is not
- 30:35the opinion of veterans talk or military broadcast radio.
- 30:38This is Michael's opinion. I don't think it's right that if
- 30:41you're in the military before you even ETS out of the
- 30:44military, that means get out of the out of the military right
- 30:46before you even leave the military.
- 30:49I don't think it's right that you're 100% total and permanent.
- 30:53I, I, I, I don't understand that.
- 30:55So if you're in the military and you say, oh, my back hurts, my
- 30:59knee hurts, I need a back surgery, I need knee surgery, a
- 31:01carpal tunnel, my finger hurts, my brain hurts, whatever be it.
- 31:05I think the military should keep you on active duty and fix
- 31:08whatever is broken. That's where they can get you
- 31:10the best care. They can send you to Bam C,
- 31:12which is in San Antonio. They can send you to Walter Reed
- 31:15Hospital, which is probably one of the most phenomenal
- 31:16hospitals, but that's the Walter Reed Combined hospital in DC.
- 31:20They can send you to all these great hospitals to get you the
- 31:24great service that you deserve before you get out.
- 31:28I don't think it's fair that you get out of the military at 100%,
- 31:31collect a check, and never see the VA again.
- 31:35Never do anything with the VA That that's what I was getting
- 31:39at, right? Because what we have done is we
- 31:41have, we have started to use the VA as a social welfare system.
- 31:45While I served in the military for three years and playing
- 31:48basketball, broke my ankle and now I'm 100% total and permanent
- 31:52to the military. I, I, just, I, I'm, I'm trying
- 31:56to play devil's advocate and figure this out and it's just
- 31:58not working in my head. The numbers don't work.
- 32:01We're going to bankrupt the VA and the government before we
- 32:03know it. That's all I was saying.
- 32:05But if you do have an actual claim, right, by all means, by
- 32:10all means, go to the VA, file the VA.
- 32:12I was just saying that when I got out of the military and many
- 32:15of my friends and colleagues and so on and so forth, we did not
- 32:19have the opportunity to sit in front of a VA counselor,
- 32:24American Legion or whatever be it.
- 32:26And they were like, yeah, you're 100% man.
- 32:27Let's go ahead and get this paperwork submitted.
- 32:29And when you ETS, boom, you walk over to VA and start collecting
- 32:32your check. We didn't have that.
- 32:35I mean, a lot, a lot of veterans fought for years.
- 32:36I, I helped a veteran that was a Vietnam, excuse me, a Vietnam
- 32:39veteran Agent Orange. It is, I mean, it's, it's it, it
- 32:44takes a long time. I'm not saying it should take a
- 32:46long time. And I don't wish that on anybody
- 32:48else. And I'm going to stop right
- 32:51there because I know I'm going to go down the rabbit hole that
- 32:53everybody's going to be while you're saying this.
- 32:55And I'm going to get a lot of hate emails for it.
- 32:57But you know, if you have a claim, do it.
- 32:59Absolutely. I mean, it's your right to do a
- 33:01claim, but I want you all to know also something that as a
- 33:05veteran who's 100% permanent in total, there is so much more out
- 33:11there. There is so much more than just
- 33:16the compensation. Seriously, if you're 100%,
- 33:20there's their tax brackets that you meet for housing.
- 33:23You know, like me in my house, I'm, I'm exempt from homestead
- 33:29exemption. That's huge.
- 33:31I mean, that's what, $1000 a month?
- 33:32I'm sorry, $1000 a month. That's $1000 to actually it's
- 33:361800, I think it was for taxes, for homestead exemption taxes.
- 33:40I mean, that's, that's pretty good, man.
- 33:43Free license plates. Texas is, is like, yeah, if if,
- 33:46if you're 100% permanent total, move to Texas.
- 33:48I'm going to tell you right now they got free license plates,
- 33:50free free fishing, free hunting, free driver's license.
- 33:54If you're 100%, you get a handicap placard parking you
- 33:57get. I mean, they just they know how
- 33:59to take care of their veterans. Florida, great state to live in,
- 34:03Tennessee, amazing state to live in.
- 34:07Tennessee, where we're at Tennessee, we don't have a state
- 34:10income tax, which is great. So I mean, a lot of states offer
- 34:15a lot of great benefits and stuff like that.
- 34:16So there are different benefits out there for you.
- 34:20That tickets is one of them. Jeez, goodness gracious.
- 34:23I could go down the list, but nobody talks about those, right?
- 34:26Gov X commissary privileges, if you're not retired, you can get
- 34:31your commissary privileges, PX privileges.
- 34:34There is a caveat to that. You can't shop it like the
- 34:36uniform portion of the of a PS right.
- 34:38So unless you have a military ID card, you know, you, you, you
- 34:42can't go in there and buy like commands our Major General
- 34:45stripes, right? You know, you don't like
- 34:46craziness. So that I mean, there's a lot of
- 34:49good benefits out there that everybody should be applying
- 34:52for. I agree everybody so.
- 34:59Thanks to morning who just joined.
- 35:02So I have, I have a gentleman who is a YouTube sensation,
- 35:08Instagram sensation and I'm trying to get him on my show.
- 35:12He reached out to me and because my Instagram was private, he's
- 35:15like, hey, don't make your Instagram private.
- 35:17I'm not going to make it private anymore because it was my
- 35:19personal Instagram. It's veterans talks Instagram
- 35:21now. So it is no longer private.
- 35:23So and there'll be some cool postings on there and stuff like
- 35:25that. It is a business account as of
- 35:27right now. Excuse me, excuse me.
- 35:31So I'm still horsed. Lord have mercy Ricola in the
- 35:42news, I, I not to change gears here, but a little bit, but in
- 35:45the news we had recently, NATO is like being hit left, right
- 35:52and center. Canada is in the limelight again
- 35:54and stuff like that for not pulling their share of NATO
- 35:57right. And, and everybody's saying that
- 36:00that Russia is trying NATO's patience by, you know, invading
- 36:05little countries like, you know, Ukraine and all that stuff.
- 36:08And it, and, and it, you know, I just, I don't want to be that
- 36:12guy that talks about the news all the time and stuff, But I
- 36:15know I get a lot of emails. I just got an e-mail.
- 36:16That's why I'm talking about it. Sorry, e-mail says, hey, with
- 36:20everything that's going on with NATO and stuff, does it scare
- 36:23any veterans out there about, man, does it scare us?
- 36:27Does it scare us? Listen, if the government said,
- 36:29Hey, we need every single breathing person that can carry
- 36:32a gun and shoot there in a doubt in in my mind that 90% of the
- 36:38veterans will step forward regardless of age, color or
- 36:40creed, regardless, I think 90% of them would step forward and
- 36:44say, yeah, what was that what you got?
- 36:46We're ready for that. We've been, we've been training
- 36:47for our whole life for this where you want me.
- 36:50I mean, it's, it's crazy. So yes, I think veterans are in
- 36:54tune to the news and stuff like that, but we really just don't
- 36:57watch it. I mean, it's, it's not something
- 36:59that we it's not something I do anymore.
- 37:01I used to do it, but I don't do it anymore.
- 37:03So I mean, it is what it is, right?
- 37:06The news is the news. So no, I, I don't think that the
- 37:10veterans watch it too much. Yeah.
- 37:19I mean, he, he just wrote me another one and said, so if
- 37:22you're out there listening to me, pay attention to me.
- 37:24Here it is. I hate looking down at my
- 37:26emails. You're, I mean, you're, you're,
- 37:27you're blowing up my text messages rather so.
- 37:30So here it is. Here's the bottom line.
- 37:32Veterans don't normally generally watch sit and watch
- 37:35the news all day. And if we do watch the news,
- 37:36we're kind of like, right. It's like we have better things
- 37:40to do. There's different genres and
- 37:43different generations of veterans.
- 37:45And, and, and I'll explain that you have our World War 2
- 37:49veterans and Korean War Veterans who are far and few between,
- 37:52right? Let's, let's face it, right?
- 37:54They're, they're, they're aging out.
- 37:56I'll say in a, in a kind of a kind way, you know, if you do
- 38:00the math right, it's been long since World War 2 and Korean War
- 38:07a really long time. So if the average age was 20,
- 38:12right, you're talking about they're almost 100 years old, if
- 38:16not 100 years old. Seriously.
- 38:19So and Korean War Veterans, the same thing.
- 38:21You know, people don't even remember when the Korean War was
- 38:23right in the 1950s. Ring a bell?
- 38:26So I mean, these are people who are are getting older and you
- 38:33know, they're, they're they're aging out a little bit, quite a
- 38:36bit, right? They're not.
- 38:37Where's my hat look record? Is that just a thing?
- 38:39Yeah, I think, I think it's just a thing on there.
- 38:42I think they are aging out a little bit and I think that the
- 38:46Vietnam Veterans are up there in age as well.
- 38:48I mean, you got to remember Vietnam started in the 1960s and
- 38:51then what, 1978 ish, 77, something like that.
- 38:55We start pulling troops out and stuff like that.
- 38:58So we'll we'll even say 1979 won't be fair, right?
- 39:02Say 1979. I got corrected one time.
- 39:05Somebody said 1980. I'm like, I don't know about
- 39:07that, but you know, troops were coming out and and the Vietnam
- 39:12War, the average age was 19. So you let's just for round
- 39:16Number, say, as we say 2020 years old, 20 years old from
- 39:201977 or 1979. Add that real quick.
- 39:27It's a long time ago, bro, long time ago.
- 39:30They're what in their 70s and 80s, right.
- 39:33So I mean, it's, it's, it's a different generation that we
- 39:38have now. It, it really is.
- 39:41And it, and I think that the generation that we have coming
- 39:44home now, the veterans that we have now are more in tuned and
- 39:48more understanding and more paying attention to their goals,
- 39:55right? So World War 2, they came home,
- 39:57they went right back to work. A lot of a lot of veterans,
- 40:00right? They came home, the economy was
- 40:02booming, it was going great. It was awesome.
- 40:05Because you had all these veterans coming back from War 2
- 40:08to go back into work, workforce, car salesman, real estate,
- 40:13construction, whatever, be it right that they just picked up
- 40:16from a lot of them picked up from where they left off Korean
- 40:19War Veterans very similar. It was a temporary ceasefire in
- 40:25Korea. That's why we have North and
- 40:26South Korea right now. We still have soldiers on the
- 40:28border. There was never, there was never
- 40:31a end to the Korean War is only a ceasefire that's held for a
- 40:34bazillion years now, right? Those veterans came back, they
- 40:38start going to college, they got their lives together and moved
- 40:41on, right? Vietnam Veterans came home.
- 40:43They were, they were treated differently.
- 40:46They were treated totally differently.
- 40:48A lot of them got government jobs.
- 40:50A lot of them went into the, in the post office or the postal
- 40:53industry, railroad industry. They took on new jobs and
- 40:57careers and stuff and, and, and made something out of their
- 40:59lives, right. Let's bring us to the 1990s and
- 41:03we'll start with Panama. We had Operation Just Cause in
- 41:06the 1990, right? Operation 8990.
- 41:09We had Operation or Desert Storm, Desert Shield 199192,
- 41:15right? We had Grenada, we had Kosovo,
- 41:18Bosnia, peacekeeping missions and stuff like that.
- 41:21A lot of those military veterans stayed in the military for their
- 41:24careers and when they got out, they used their GI Bill to go to
- 41:27college, right? Because that's, that's the
- 41:29thing. That's that was the thing that
- 41:30we did. The Vietnam, Korea and War 2
- 41:34veterans were these type of people.
- 41:36They use these, these hands, right?
- 41:37They, they built things, they were construction, they were
- 41:39hard working, blue collar, etcetera, etcetera.
- 41:42But as we go into the techie side, right, as veterans coming
- 41:46home now, a lot of these veterans are like, Hey, I can't
- 41:49get a decent job unless I go and get a college degree in
- 41:52cybersecurity or in drafting or I don't know if God knows,
- 41:56nursing or whatever be it, right?
- 41:58So they're taking advantage of that GI Bill, that post 911 GI
- 42:02Bill, and they're going to school.
- 42:03A lot of people are getting those degrees and they're
- 42:06getting married and starting their lives and they're
- 42:09continuing their lives and stuff like that, right?
- 42:12That's what the veterans are like now.
- 42:13They're just kind of like, yeah, I'm just going to go ahead and,
- 42:17and, and do my my life, if you will.
- 42:20So they're not trying to look for the, for the right words.
- 42:24It is they're just not looking there.
- 42:26They're not looking back there. They're not looking to rock the
- 42:32boat, so to speak, right? It's This is why you don't, I
- 42:37don't want to see. This is why this is a huge
- 42:39reason why you don't see the numbers that you used to in the
- 42:42American Legion, the VFW's and stuff like that.
- 42:44Because these people came back and started their lives.
- 42:46So they got kids and, you know, they're married and they're,
- 42:51they're, you know what I mean? So that's, that's, that's the
- 42:54gift that that we have here right now.
- 42:56And that's what they're doing. So it's a different genre of
- 43:01veterans that we have now. So when you ask a question, I
- 43:04kind of went about a whole different way.
- 43:06But when you asked, when you ask a question about would veterans
- 43:10pick up a weapon and fight right now?
- 43:12Absolutely. This has nothing to do with it.
- 43:14But you also have to remember that a lot of these young men
- 43:16and women who went to Iraq, who went to Afghanistan, young men
- 43:20and women, listen, I, when I was in Iraq, we had a 20 year old
- 43:23Sergeant. That's unheard of.
- 43:25When I came in the Army, I had a Sergeant.
- 43:27It was old, crusty. He seemed like he was a 80 year
- 43:29old man, right. So these young men and women who
- 43:34came back from Iraq and Afghanistan, these other wars
- 43:38are taking advantage of the Post 911 GI Bill and they're working,
- 43:42They're going to school and they're working.
- 43:43They're they're establishing their careers and their family
- 43:46and so on and so forth. It's not like before.
- 43:49I mean, our times have changed. And that's what I think that
- 43:53people don't realize is that times have changed.
- 43:56We're going to take a real quick break.
- 43:58When we come back, we'll talk a little bit more about some of
- 44:01the emails I got about VA benefits that I went over, which
- 44:05are, I mean, they're pretty interesting.
- 44:07But we'll be right back on Veterans Talk military broadcast
- 44:09radio. The radio station gives our
- 44:11veterans a voice. And welcome back to veterans
- 47:15talk on military broadcast radio with yours truly Magic And I've
- 47:19got my hey, I want to I forgot to give a prop out to these guys
- 47:22right here for the the free cool circle.
- 47:26It's kind of cool, man. It's got this little device in
- 47:29the in the top of it that you add in there.
- 47:31It's got a sugar free little taste in there.
- 47:34So I'm drinking more water, which I need to and and it's got
- 47:37a little adjustment up here that you can, you know, how much
- 47:39sugar you want or how much sweetness you want or whatever.
- 47:42But yeah, it's it's pretty cool. I've been drinking a lot more
- 47:43water. So thank you to circle, circle,
- 47:48Circle for their cool gift. But if you don't have one, run
- 47:51out and grab them. They got them at Walmart,
- 47:53Target, Tarjay, all those good places back here.
- 47:57I just wanted to go over some quick things. the VA has a pay
- 48:01adjustment. So if you guys don't know that,
- 48:03if you guys are receiving benefits through the VA for
- 48:06college, right, the Post 9/11 or the Chapter 35 survivors
- 48:12Independence educational assistance, it will increase.
- 48:15October the first. Now those of you who are not
- 48:17military and don't know, October is our fiscal year.
- 48:20That is our new year for the military, for the government.
- 48:23That's when our new year starts. So start October the 1st, I'm
- 48:28sorry, the bill effective, The bill was effective the 1st of
- 48:31August and it will take effect October the 1st.
- 48:35And what that is, is it gives more money.
- 48:38So like an increase in allowance and stuff like that for a post
- 48:41911 GI Bill grads. Also, the Healthcare Expansion
- 48:45Act had over 250,000 new veterans have enrolled in the VA
- 48:50healthcare through 2026, supported by the opening of
- 48:52dozens of new clinics and expanding.
- 48:54Listen, I had the opportunity to drive through Lexington,
- 49:00Louisville, Louisville. Sorry, was it Lexington,
- 49:05Louisville? Anyways, I drove through
- 49:08Lexington, Louisville. I stopped there for a couple
- 49:10days. They have one of the largest VA
- 49:14health cares hospitals that I've ever seen in my life.
- 49:16It is state-of-the-art brand spanking who hasn't even opened
- 49:19yet. They're still building it and
- 49:21the, the foreman, the construction foreman who has I,
- 49:25I guess for the government, right, for the VA happened to be
- 49:29there, talked to him, told him who I was, showed him my, my
- 49:32press credentials. We had a great talk and he said,
- 49:33you want to tour it with me? I said, sure.
- 49:35We walked it. Oh my gosh, man, listen here,
- 49:39those of you are in Kentucky and you're anywhere around that area
- 49:41right there. I believe it's Louisville.
- 49:45Godly man. That is going to be a
- 49:46state-of-the-art man. I'm talking about brand spanking
- 49:48new hospital and it's huge. It's huge.
- 49:51Like there's so much construction there on the
- 49:53highway that you, you're, you're backed up in traffic.
- 49:56And I just sat there and awed, you know, And a fun fact, by the
- 50:00way, the DAV where I was actually headed to, which is
- 50:03Disabled American Veterans, their national headquarters is
- 50:06there in Kentucky. Who, who would have thunk?
- 50:08Who would have thunk Cost reduction. the VA secured over
- 50:13$10 billion. And this is it really, really
- 50:16huge. The VA secured over $10 billion
- 50:19in pharmaceutical price reductions during the fiscal
- 50:21year 2026 to help lower treatment costs.
- 50:25Why is that important? Real quick, just to touch base
- 50:28on that, it's really important because of the fact that there's
- 50:32certain medicines that the VA will discontinue on you without
- 50:35you even knowing. So, so, so the VA, so I'll give
- 50:39you an idea. I was taking a medication that I
- 50:41needed in order to live. Very simple, right?
- 50:45I mean, in order to breathe, I needed this medication.
- 50:47Now there is an alternative medication that they gave me,
- 50:50but it caused oral thrush and all this other stuff.
- 50:52And then I had to take another medication on top of that and,
- 50:54and so on and so forth. It was just, it was just
- 50:56horrible. So after 15 years or 16 years,
- 51:00they changed my medicine and said, well, it's not cost
- 51:03effective anymore to us. They did a study and realized
- 51:06that they're actually spending more money by switching people
- 51:11to the other medicine because people weren't doing too good on
- 51:13it and there was more hospitalizations and then they
- 51:15had to have medicine to combat the oral thrush and so on and so
- 51:18forth. So they switch back to that,
- 51:20that medicine, which made sense, right?
- 51:24So this is really important. There's another medication that
- 51:26I have to take. It cost about $2500 a shot.
- 51:30No, it's not Ozympic. I'm not that big, but they had I
- 51:33mean, it's it's it's expensive and it's cost less to me.
- 51:36I don't pay a dime. I don't even pay through the VAI
- 51:39don't I don't even pay a copay. I was paying like a $50 copay or
- 51:43something like that crazy and I don't even pay that.
- 51:45So craziness, craziness, right? I mean, it's, it's really
- 51:50important. So I'm going to read one more
- 51:52e-mail here. I mean, I've got to go through
- 51:54these emails, one more e-mail and it talks about talking about
- 52:01the Veterans Crisis Line. So I'm not going to bash the
- 52:07Veterans Crisis Line. I think it's a great idea and I
- 52:10think it's a great thing. If you're if, I'll tell you
- 52:14this, if you need somebody to talk to the lines open 24/7,
- 52:17talk to somebody. Call it, call it 889899 or 889.
- 52:22Yeah, now. Now I'm forgetting it because
- 52:24I'm just stupid. Now it is a great the crisis.
- 52:29Line is 988. Boy, look at.
- 52:30Me, I'm all dyslassic 988 and then press one.
- 52:33Or you can actually text them, which is kind of cool.
- 52:36I mean in our day and age, everybody text messages now,
- 52:38right 838255? Or you can go to.
- 52:46Veterans crisis line. So it's all confidential,
- 52:49confidential support. So I know there was a study done
- 52:52a while ago and they said that, you know it was not a good thing
- 52:56or whatever be it. But listen, if you need somebody
- 52:58to talk to, call them. They're there 24/7.
- 53:02Just just talk to somebody does it, even if it's the yell at
- 53:04them and tell them they suck, whatever.
- 53:06I'm don't do that. I'm just saying it's a way that
- 53:09you can talk to people, right? So go out there and talk to
- 53:12them. Go out there, talk to them, call
- 53:14them. If you're, if you're in crisis,
- 53:16there's it's not a big deal. Just reach out to them.
- 53:18It's really not that big of a deal.
- 53:21As always, look out for your battle buddies.
- 53:25Give somebody a call, somebody you've been meeting to call to
- 53:27say, hey, I'm sorry or hey, I just want to see and touch base
- 53:30with you. Right.
- 53:32I'll share a story with you. I haven't talked to my little
- 53:34sister in quite a few years and we saw each other at my parents
- 53:42funeral and you know my my parents died a long time ago and
- 53:45we had them buried at a cemetery.
- 53:50Their their remains stick remains.
- 53:52Were were were put in a cemetery together with a veteran's
- 53:54headstone. My father was a Vietnam veteran.
- 53:57Great service by the way. Amazing service and man just.
- 54:02Hugging my little sister and saying.
- 54:04Hi there was like so important to me.
- 54:07It really was. You never know where you're.
- 54:11Going to get an opportunity to tell.
- 54:12Somebody different, whether they're going to be in your life
- 54:14or not, remember that we're not promised tomorrow.
- 54:17Reach out to them, reach out to them, ask them how they're
- 54:20doing. Reach out to them and tell them
- 54:22you love them. You're thinking of them.
- 54:24Doesn't have to go anywhere, don't have to carry on an hour
- 54:27long conversation. The hell, you don't even have to
- 54:29call them back After that. You can stay ghost for another
- 54:321015 years. But it's important.
- 54:35It's important that they know that you love them, that you
- 54:37care about them, and you're there and you always be.
- 54:41There might not be able to be on the.
- 54:42Phone might not be able to be in spirit or or in in in person,
- 54:46but in spirit you're there and you love them.
- 54:49You never low when that person may be gone from your life and
- 54:57you'll never be able to tell them different.
- 55:00Think about that for a second. Let that, let that kind of sink
- 55:03in. It's important.
- 55:05It's important every day we put our best foot forward and let
- 55:07that person, that special person, that, that somebody that
- 55:10you've been meaning to make amends with and say sorry,
- 55:13sorry. And I love you and I, I, I hope
- 55:17the best for you and I wish you well.
- 55:19This isn't about and life's too short to sit here and hold a
- 55:23grudge and be so bitter all the time.
- 55:26I'm, I'm trust me, I'm learning that one.
- 55:28I've learned that one in the last year, right?
- 55:32Don't text message people. Give him a call.
- 55:36Give him a call, send him a video, even a voice message so
- 55:39they can hear your voice and say hey, I just.
- 55:43Want to tell you that I hope. You're well and I'm thinking of
- 55:46you period end. Of story because.
- 55:49I'll tell you in translation, text messages gets lost the
- 55:54flexion of the voice, right? I, I, I, I preach this all the
- 55:58time. How you read a text message?
- 56:03Is how you read it might not be how the person sent it.
- 56:06So you might be reading I love you and they might have met.
- 56:10I love you so much. Big difference, right?
- 56:14If you're standing in a room with me and I told you I love
- 56:16you so much, you're you're the world to me.
- 56:19Or if I'm sitting in a room with you.
- 56:20And I going to love you too. Right.
- 56:23So reach out to him, even if it's a voice message, reach out
- 56:26to him. Let him know you're thinking of
- 56:27them. Let him know that you forgive
- 56:28them for whatever it is. Even if you don't forgive them,
- 56:30just say it, man. It make it make somebody's day,
- 56:35give that forgiveness. You've been meaning to.
- 56:37Give so to everybody. Out there that I've.
- 56:40Either jaded, done wrong or whatever, I'm sorry and I hope.
- 56:46You find in your heart to forgive.
- 56:47Me because I forgive you. And that was I guess the, the
- 56:55really important part of me giving my sister, my younger
- 56:58sister a hug and tell her I love her.
- 57:01It really was because we never know when we're going to be
- 57:03there for each other again, right?
- 57:05Life gets caught up and we, we move on and, and stuff like
- 57:08that. So I don't want to be the, the,
- 57:12the guy that like, oh, he ended his show so, so solemn and so,
- 57:16wow, I don't want to be that. But if you're out there and
- 57:20you're watching us, I'm going to leave you with this.
