- 0:01Speaker 2: Well, for one thing, it's National Chocolate Day and Halloween.
- 0:07Speaker 2: I will tell you, my 11 year old daughter, Tessa,
- 0:09Speaker 2: celebrates that every day. I have never seen a kid
- 0:13Speaker 2: so into chocolate, but it makes her happy and she
- 0:17Speaker 2: makes me happy. So it works out. Thank you for
- 0:25Speaker 2: what you do and what you're willing to do every day. Birthdays,
- 0:30Speaker 2: you remember Justin Guarini, as in Justin and Kelly, as
- 0:34Speaker 2: in Kelly Clarkson? When was that, early 2000s? Where's he now? Actually,
- 0:38Speaker 2: you know those Dr. Pepper commercials with the little sweet
- 0:41Speaker 2: in them? That's him. He's 48 today. Fantastic actor Joaquin
- 0:46Speaker 2: Phoenix turns 52. Our country superstar birthday goes to Brad Paisley,
- 0:53Speaker 2: who turns 54 today. The same day Julia Roberts turns 59.
- 0:59Speaker 2: And what do you get for a guy who's worth
- 1:01Speaker 2: a quadrillion dollars? Bill Gates... It's 71 today. Those are
- 1:06Speaker 2: today's special days and birthdays on the Country 92.5 Morning Show.
- 1:11Speaker 2: Country 92.5. Welcome to Wednesday. Welcome to the Country 92.5
- 1:15Speaker 2: Morning Show. Just shy of 6 o'clock, here comes Amanda
- 1:18Speaker 2: Jo to hit your headlines for the first time.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Weather today mixes sun and clouds with highs in the
- 1:22Speaker 1: upper 50s. World Series, Game 4, Tampa Bay staying alive.
- 1:27Speaker 2: Right?
- 1:28Speaker 1: The game went 12 innings, but they beat the Brewers 4-3,
- 1:30Speaker 1: forcing Game 5 tonight at 8 p.m.
- 1:32Speaker 3: In Florida. So Brewers, three wins, Tampa Bay one.
- 1:36Speaker 1: Of course, Dave Portnoy was in town last week for
- 1:38Speaker 1: the big UMass-UConn matchup, which, of course, UConn ended up winning.
- 1:43Speaker 1: But while he was in town, he hit a bunch
- 1:44Speaker 1: of pizza places. And the first review is officially posted
- 1:48Speaker 1: on Barstool Sports. It was his review of Mulberry Pizza Rolls.
- 1:53Speaker 1: uh mulberry street pizza in manchester and i'll give you
- 1:55Speaker 1: a little backstory after okay.
- 1:57Speaker 4: Finally after 10 years of trying mulberry pizza manchester it
- 2:00Speaker 4: kind of has a new haven feel to it very
- 2:03Speaker 4: good a little eight two and by the way that's
- 2:05Speaker 4: a new haven scale i just did an interview being
- 2:07Speaker 4: like i think connecticut's the best pizza state in the
- 2:09Speaker 4: country world actually it's all because the new haven style
- 2:12Speaker 4: and this stacks right.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Up wow OK, so I've got the video linked up
- 2:15Speaker 1: on our InstaStory Country 92.5. What's funny, you when you
- 2:19Speaker 1: first heard that clip said 10 years. Yeah, I guess
- 2:22Speaker 1: 10 years ago when they first opened the owner, she
- 2:26Speaker 1: had no idea who he was. And they were brand new.
- 2:28Speaker 1: And his producer was trying to call to get in there.
- 2:31Speaker 1: And she hung up the phone.
- 2:32Speaker 2: What?
- 2:33Speaker 3: In the video, you can see her daughter saying.
- 2:36Speaker 2: I know why.
- 2:37Speaker 3: I know why it took 10 years.
- 2:38Speaker 2: Mom had no idea.
- 2:39Speaker 3: And then when her mother showed up, Dave and her met.
- 2:44Speaker 3: Pretty funny.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Great review. And wow. Yeah. Best in the world. Goodness gracious.
- 2:49Speaker 2: And there you go. Today's headlines here on the Country 92.5
- 2:53Speaker 2: Morning Show. And it's time for today's fascinating facts. It's
- 2:56Speaker 2: National Chocolate Day today. Is white chocolate actual chocolate? No.
- 3:00Speaker 2: I didn't know that. You don't want to know why?
- 3:04Speaker 2: No cocoa solids. Just cocoa butter, sugar, and milk. I
- 3:09Speaker 2: learned that.
- 3:09Speaker 3: I always say that. I was like, I don't want
- 3:10Speaker 3: white chocolate.
- 3:10Speaker 2: It's not even chocolate. I like it, though.
- 3:14Speaker 3: There was an old candy bar called, I think Nestle
- 3:17Speaker 3: made it, an Alpine White.
- 3:18Speaker 2: Yes.
- 3:19Speaker 3: I loved those when I was a kid.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Those were good. Good call. How big do you think
- 3:23Speaker 2: the largest chocolate bar by weight ever was? I don't know.
- 3:28Speaker 2: Six tons. Six tons. Chocolatier Thorntons did it for their
- 3:34Speaker 2: anniversary in 2021. How about the largest chocolate bar by size?
- 3:38Speaker 2: That was made by this guy that my kids love
- 3:41Speaker 2: on the internet. He's a chef named Nick DiGiovanni. You
- 3:44Speaker 2: ever seen his stuff?
- 3:44Speaker 1: Nope.
- 3:45Speaker 2: I mean, he has got like 45 million followers. Really good.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Good at what he does. 416 square meters. That was
- 3:53Speaker 2: the size he did on a basketball court.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Okay.
- 3:56Speaker 2: That's a lot of chocolate.
- 3:57Speaker 3: That's a lot of chocolate. I'm still hung up on
- 3:59Speaker 3: the six tons. That's like six elephants, right?
- 4:04Speaker 2: Yeah, 12,130 pounds. What do you do with that?
- 4:06Speaker 3: That's dense.
- 4:07Speaker 2: That's big. And finally, the Chocolate River in the OG
- 4:11Speaker 2: Willy Wonka. That was real. 150,000 gallons. Problem was it
- 4:17Speaker 2: started to spoil under the studio lights, and eventually the
- 4:20Speaker 2: entire set reeked of what was said to be spoiled milk,
- 4:25Speaker 2: gym socks, or even swamp water. Gross, right? Real chocolate.
- 4:30Speaker 2: There you go. Today's fascinating facts.
- 4:32Speaker 3: Swamp water is what I call my martinis.
- 4:34Speaker 2: Do they reek?
- 4:35Speaker 3: When they ask me how I like it, I go,
- 4:37Speaker 3: I like it real swampy.
- 4:38Speaker 2: Here's Amanda Jo.
- 4:40Speaker 1: Taylor Swift, officially inducted in the Nashville Songwriters Hall of
- 4:43Speaker 1: Fame to do the honor, Brad Paisley, who she joked
- 4:47Speaker 1: during the speech that they had been estranged since he
- 4:50Speaker 1: filled her tour bus in 2007 with crickets.
- 4:53Speaker 2: He filled her tour bus with crickets.
- 4:55Speaker 3: And a tour prank. I'll get the clip up for
- 4:57Speaker 3: you on our Insta.
- 4:58Speaker 1: But what I really loved, Lainey Wilson, to honor Taylor, did.
- 5:03Speaker 3: Love story.
- 5:04Speaker 1: First thing Taylor said in her speech was honoring Lainey.
- 5:07Speaker 3: First of all, I want to say thank.
- 5:09Speaker 1: You to Lainey Wilson, who I just think is one
- 5:11Speaker 1: of the coolest people in the world. For saying yes
- 5:15Speaker 1: and doing that.
- 5:16Speaker 3: And I've had her new single on repeat. It's supposed
- 5:20Speaker 3: to be in the best mood. It's called Kinda Love It.
- 5:22Speaker 1: Check it out.
- 5:23Speaker 3: That new song that she speaks of?
- 5:25Speaker 1: First time she performed that song live was a couple
- 5:29Speaker 1: weeks ago when she was at Mohegan.
- 5:31Speaker 3: So if you haven't seen that performance, it's up on
- 5:34Speaker 3: our Instacountry.
- 5:34Speaker 2: Of course it is, because you're on the ball. I
- 5:37Speaker 2: am being hit by the ball in the head. Wow.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Thank you, Amanda Jo. Fantastic.
- 5:43Speaker 3: Now your feel-good story is coming up.
- 5:46Speaker 2: He says with a big bite of bagel. Yeah, coming up,
- 5:49Speaker 2: it's actually two shorter Feel Good Stories because they're about
- 5:53Speaker 2: marathoners and the amazing things one is about to do
- 5:57Speaker 2: and one has started doing. I will tell you about
- 5:59Speaker 2: them coming up in 15 minutes here at Country 92.5,
- 6:03Speaker 2: assuming I still have a job. Time for today's Feel
- 6:05Speaker 2: Good Stories. Both about marathoners. They're short, so I got
- 6:10Speaker 2: two in because they just happened to pop up today.
- 6:12Speaker 2: And again, I have to preface this by saying I
- 6:14Speaker 2: don't get running, but I really admire those of you
- 6:17Speaker 2: that do, especially the devotion that some people have to running.
- 6:22Speaker 2: So here's an example. This guy named Dave Oglovich, he
- 6:25Speaker 2: ran the New York City Marathon in 1976. That was
- 6:28Speaker 2: the first year it started going through all five boroughs.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Had no idea, he said, how long he would keep
- 6:34Speaker 2: doing it. But on Sunday, that's when it happens, the
- 6:36Speaker 2: 82-year-old will return to Staten Island for his 50th New
- 6:41Speaker 2: York City Marathon.
- 6:42Speaker 4: Wow.
- 6:42Speaker 2: That's awesome. It's a street no one else can match
- 6:45Speaker 2: this year. He will walk with his stepdaughter, hopes to
- 6:48Speaker 2: finish in about eight hours.
- 6:49Speaker 1: Okay.
- 6:50Speaker 2: His best time ever was in 82 when he did
- 6:52Speaker 2: it in two hours and 15 minutes. Wow. Respectable, right?
- 6:56Speaker 3: That's a marathon. I can't even do half.
- 6:59Speaker 2: Listen to this. This British ultra marathoner, his name is
- 7:02Speaker 2: William Gouge. Gouge, Gouge, anyway. He's taking running the extreme.
- 7:05Speaker 2: He's going to run 50 marathons across all 50 U.S.
- 7:09Speaker 2: states in 24 days. Not one a day. He started
- 7:13Speaker 2: on Sunday. He ran three marathons in South Carolina and
- 7:16Speaker 2: North Carolina. Right? Three marathons in one day. And he
- 7:21Speaker 2: ain't doing the shorties, okay? But he is raising money
- 7:24Speaker 2: for a stand-up to cancer in honor of his mother.
- 7:26Speaker 2: So the first day alone, he took in $ 30, 000.
- 7:30Speaker 3: That's some serious run-maxing.
- 7:32Speaker 2: Yeah, right? Oh, I know what she's doing. Why did
- 7:35Speaker 2: you say run-maxing?
- 7:37Speaker 1: Because coming up in the news, dictionary.com has revealed their
- 7:41Speaker 1: word of the year, and I want to test you
- 7:43Speaker 1: on some trends.
- 7:44Speaker 2: Okay. And again, I admire you runners, you included.
- 7:47Speaker 1: So do you want to run Hartford with me next year?
- 7:49Speaker 2: No, it's just not my jam. It never will be.
- 7:52Speaker 1: That's what I always said, and then somebody asked me
- 7:54Speaker 1: to do it for charity years ago, and I was like, okay.
- 7:57Speaker 3: This is fine.
- 7:58Speaker 2: God bless you for it. Time for some winning. Toad's Place,
- 8:04Speaker 2: the finale tour, the going, what do you call it?
- 8:06Speaker 2: The ending tour. He's done after this. Farewell tour. Farewell tour. Gosh,
- 8:12Speaker 2: dang it. Life is hard for my brain. Anyway. What
- 8:16Speaker 2: are you talking about? Wheeler Walker Jr. is going to
- 8:19Speaker 2: be stopping at Toad's Place on November 7th.
- 8:22Speaker 3: And if you're not familiar, it's funny, but it's dirty.
- 8:27Speaker 1: Yeah, it is.
- 8:29Speaker 2: Real dirty. Just so you know. Why don't you be prepared?
- 8:32Speaker 2: So we did human this week. So let's do pets today.
- 8:36Speaker 2: The question is, what is the most popular pet costume
- 8:40Speaker 2: for 2026? The year matters. Yes. Call 860-249-9250 and win
- 8:45Speaker 2: your tickets now on the Country 92.5 Morning Show. show
- 8:52Speaker 2: happy hump day who is.
- 8:54Speaker 3: This heather hello heather.
- 8:57Speaker 2: How are you heather i'm good how are you we
- 8:59Speaker 2: are Let's do this, get you in to see Walker Wheeler,
- 9:03Speaker 2: Wheeler Walker. The guy that's coming to tell his place.
- 9:06Speaker 2: I can't think today. We did human costumes this week,
- 9:09Speaker 2: so we're doing pets today. Heather, what's the most popular
- 9:11Speaker 2: pet costume for 2026? No, you know what? That is
- 9:16Speaker 2: the most popular of all time, but not this year.
- 9:19Speaker 2: It's a great guess. It's on the list, but unfortunately,
- 9:22Speaker 2: I got to let you go, Heather. Have a glorious day,
- 9:25Speaker 2: and you can always call back because here's Amanda Jo's clue.
- 9:28Speaker 1: Pumpkin is actually number two for 2026. But number one,
- 9:33Speaker 1: here's my clue.
- 9:34Speaker 2: Shoot her. Shoot her. Was that a British accent?
- 9:39Speaker 3: He had a little bit of a British accent, didn't he?
- 9:42Speaker 1: All right.
- 9:42Speaker 2: What's she talking about?
- 9:43Speaker 1: 860-249-9250.
- 9:44Speaker 2: Country 92.5. Happy Wednesday. Who's this? Hi, this is Darcy. Darcy,
- 9:53Speaker 2: we need to send you to see Wheeler Walker Jr.
- 9:56Speaker 2: for free. So let's make it happen. We did humans
- 10:00Speaker 2: this week. We're doing pets today. I'm talking about costumes.
- 10:03Speaker 2: What's the most popular pet costume for 2026? That's the key.
- 10:09Speaker 2: Heather got through. She did the most popular costume of
- 10:11Speaker 2: all time. Not number one this year. So Amanda Jo
- 10:15Speaker 2: had this clue.
- 10:16Speaker 4: Right.
- 10:17Speaker 3: It's from a movie.
- 10:19Speaker 2: Shoot her! Shoot her! What is she talking about?
- 10:23Speaker 1: It is a dinosaur, definitely.
- 10:26Speaker 2: Yes! Okay! What a movie! It's called Find the Fake,
- 10:31Speaker 2: and it's really simple. I have three weird headlines. Two
- 10:35Speaker 2: of them are going to end up being true, and
- 10:36Speaker 2: I will explain them. One of them I made up, though,
- 10:38Speaker 2: and it's rare, but I got Amanda Jo yesterday. I'm
- 10:41Speaker 2: going for two in a row today.
- 10:43Speaker 3: All right.
- 10:44Speaker 2: Bring it. By the way, it's all about technology. Technology headlines.
- 10:47Speaker 3: Okay.
- 10:48Speaker 2: For example, number one, startup offering people $ 20 an hour
- 10:52Speaker 2: to walk dogs, robot dogs. Number two, AERISM debuts smart
- 10:59Speaker 2: underwear that can detect sensitive medical issues.
- 11:03Speaker 3: What was the first word?
- 11:04Speaker 2: It's some underwear company, AERISM. Anyway, that's. Okay.
- 11:10Speaker 3: You didn't make that one up.
- 11:12Speaker 1: What?
- 11:12Speaker 3: You didn't make that one up. Keep going.
- 11:14Speaker 2: Why are you doing that? I mean, can I get
- 11:16Speaker 2: them all out?
- 11:16Speaker 3: Yeah, keep going.
- 11:17Speaker 2: Listen to this one. Listen to this one. Singer in
- 11:19Speaker 2: AI-generated pop band quits the group because she's pregnant. I mean,
- 11:26Speaker 2: come on. All those are loony, aren't they?
- 11:30Speaker 3: You either made up one or three.
- 11:34Speaker 2: You know what? I can do this right now. I
- 11:36Speaker 2: made up two. You made up two? I made up two. Whoa!
- 11:39Speaker 1: Boom!
- 11:40Speaker 3: I figured because you couldn't say the name of the company.
- 11:42Speaker 2: No, I just got a mouth thing going on. Ah,
- 11:45Speaker 2: I got her again. This is glorious. Wow. Yeah, this star.
- 11:50Speaker 2: And when I read the headline about walking robot dogs,
- 11:52Speaker 2: I'm like, that's what they do. They don't need a
- 11:54Speaker 2: walker poop, but it's literally just testing them. So they
- 11:58Speaker 2: put them through the paces in a real environment so
- 12:00Speaker 2: people will, for some reason, buy a robot dog. I
- 12:03Speaker 2: think it's ridiculous. And the other one is true, too.
- 12:07Speaker 2: It's an AI-generated pop band. But this week, one of
- 12:11Speaker 2: the AI fake not real persons in the group quit
- 12:15Speaker 2: because she's with child. And the company explains it is
- 12:19Speaker 2: so hard. to keep social media going for all four
- 12:22Speaker 2: of them. They thought that was a good way for
- 12:24Speaker 2: her to exit and maybe return later with her AI children.
- 12:30Speaker 2: Come on, man. Where are my children? Where are my children?
- 12:35Speaker 2: Here are my children right here. What's going on? Joke time!
- 12:39Speaker 4: Ha ha ha!
- 12:41Speaker 2: Which means somebody's gonna win what, Tessa? Four tickets to
- 12:44Speaker 2: the Fall Hartford Home Show. This Saturday and Sunday in
- 12:47Speaker 2: the convention center up the street if you can figure
- 12:50Speaker 2: out this Halloween joke. Why did the vampire need mouthwash?
- 12:55Speaker 2: Why did he need what? Mouthwash. Why did the vampire
- 12:59Speaker 2: need mouthwash? Figure that one out. Four tickets for you
- 13:03Speaker 2: for the Fall Hartford Home Show. In case you keep
- 13:07Speaker 2: a score this week, Amanda is 0 for 2 heading
- 13:10Speaker 2: into day three.
- 13:12Speaker 3: Garlic breath.
- 13:13Speaker 2: Clever.
- 13:14Speaker 1: Wrong.
- 13:14Speaker 3: They don't like garlic.
- 13:15Speaker 2: Nope. It is a play on words. That's all I
- 13:18Speaker 2: can say and it probably won't help you.
- 13:19Speaker 3: Gargle. Gargoyle.
- 13:22Speaker 2: I do like how your mind works sometimes. Gargling gargoyle.
- 13:25Speaker 3: I got nothing.
- 13:27Speaker 2: But you got something, don't you? Yeah, and you're going
- 13:29Speaker 2: to have tickets to the home show this weekend. Four
- 13:31Speaker 2: of them.
- 13:34Speaker 1: 860-249-9250.
- 13:34Speaker 2: Call us. Give us the punchline. We'll hook you up
- 13:37Speaker 2: with those tickets. Country 92.5. Good morning. Who's this? Good morning, Jay. Jay,
- 13:43Speaker 2: four tickets for the home show. If you could just
- 13:46Speaker 2: give me this punchline, I know you can do it.
- 13:49Speaker 2: What do you got? Why did the vampire need mouthwash?
- 13:52Speaker 2: Because he had bat's breath. Hey, Tessa, you got any
- 13:56Speaker 2: idea why the vampire would need mouthwash? Because he had
- 13:59Speaker 2: bat's breath.
