- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up Bill's Mafia. Welcome into this week's episode of
- 0:03Speaker 1: Inside the Charge. I'm Maddi Glabin. In this week's episode,
- 0:06Speaker 1: we've got fullback Reggie Gilliam joining the show. Reggie talks
- 0:09Speaker 1: about why fullbacks deserve all the respect. We get into
- 0:13Speaker 1: the origin story of mister Brightside, what Reggie does when
- 0:17Speaker 1: he hears mister Brightside at home games. He also talks
- 0:19Speaker 1: about the fact that he's the first player ever from
- 0:22Speaker 1: his high school to make it in the NFL, goes
- 0:24Speaker 1: through his pregame routine, and why he believes this team
- 0:28Speaker 1: is capable of making it a couple more weeks. Reggie,
- 0:39Speaker 1: thanks so much for taking the time to sit down
- 0:41Speaker 1: with me today. I appreciate it. You guys are so
- 0:43Speaker 1: busy this week getting ready for a huge game. This
- 0:47Speaker 1: team finishes the season out ten to zero at home.
- 0:50Speaker 1: The AFC Championship is on deck. What has been most
- 0:53Speaker 1: important to the team's success so far this season.
- 0:58Speaker 2: Being true to ourselves.
- 1:00Speaker 3: Think that goes a long way when you can believe
- 1:01Speaker 3: in yourself and not listen to, you know, the outside media,
- 1:04Speaker 3: and you know, Shawn's really big on ignoring the noise,
- 1:07Speaker 3: So I think that just having the belief of everyone
- 1:09Speaker 3: inside the building.
- 1:10Speaker 2: That goes a long way.
- 1:11Speaker 1: What does being true to yourselves mean? What's the version
- 1:14Speaker 1: for this team?
- 1:16Speaker 3: Honestly, I think the best example of it is Mac Collins.
- 1:19Speaker 3: Just because he is who he is, It doesn't matter
- 1:21Speaker 3: what anybody has to say or think about him, that
- 1:23Speaker 3: he's going to continue being himself. And that just embodies
- 1:26Speaker 3: what the Buffalo Bills are this year. Everyone has a
- 1:28Speaker 3: lot of personality here and they aren't afraid to show it.
- 1:31Speaker 3: And us being able to play free and play fast
- 1:34Speaker 3: and be ourselves has really shown up a lot on film.
- 1:37Speaker 1: You speak about Mac Hollins and what he does on
- 1:40Speaker 1: and off the field, the no shoes, the personality, and
- 1:43Speaker 1: then you've got Dion Dawkins who has his own language sometimes,
- 1:47Speaker 1: and then you have quiet guys on the team as well.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Why do you love this group?
- 1:52Speaker 3: Because it's just like such a diverse group, just everybody
- 1:56Speaker 3: has such different personalities and nobody is like, oh, that
- 1:59Speaker 3: guy's kind of weird or we don't want to hang
- 2:00Speaker 3: out with them, Like everyone just embraces each other for
- 2:03Speaker 3: who they are.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Who do you love getting to hang out with on
- 2:07Speaker 1: the team, Who's who's your group.
- 2:09Speaker 3: The tight End group of course, uh DAWs, Dalton, q Zach.
- 2:13Speaker 3: Those are the guys we always hang out outside of
- 2:15Speaker 3: the building and always joking around having a good time
- 2:17Speaker 3: here too.
- 2:18Speaker 1: Okay, you brought up the tight Ends. I've got to
- 2:19Speaker 1: ask you this. Dawson, k Ox and Dalon Kinkaid lose
- 2:22Speaker 1: their minds when mister Bright's Side comes on in the
- 2:25Speaker 1: fourth quarter at home games. They really made it a
- 2:28Speaker 1: scene this season. What are you doing when that's unfolding?
- 2:32Speaker 3: Okay, So this all started in the off season at
- 2:35Speaker 3: Dawson's wedding. Okay, they played Mister Brightside at the reception
- 2:39Speaker 3: and everybody was losing their minds. And I had no
- 2:42Speaker 3: idea what the song was. Never heard it the day
- 2:43Speaker 3: of my life. And everyone's like, oh, this is it,
- 2:45Speaker 3: this is it, and and Dalton's like, oh, we gotta
- 2:47Speaker 3: do it, we gotta do it.
- 2:48Speaker 2: I'm like, do what what's going on?
- 2:50Speaker 3: And Everybody's going crazy in the middle of the dance
- 2:53Speaker 3: floor to this song, and I'm just like kind of
- 2:55Speaker 3: standing there watching everybody because I've obviously never.
- 2:57Speaker 2: Heard it before, and I'm just like, okay, like that
- 2:59Speaker 2: was something.
- 3:01Speaker 3: And then it started playing in the stadium, and I
- 3:04Speaker 3: don't know if Dalton had something to do with that,
- 3:06Speaker 3: but yeah, if we're up in the fourth quarter, like
- 3:09Speaker 3: midway through the fourth quarter, they'll they'll play it. And
- 3:11Speaker 3: just this past weekend, we were playing the Ravens, uh
- 3:14Speaker 3: because you know, it was the back and fourth game,
- 3:15Speaker 3: pretty much all the way throughout the game, and they
- 3:17Speaker 3: played Mister bright Side at.
- 3:18Speaker 2: Like I don't know, like four minutes left in the
- 3:20Speaker 2: fourth quarter.
- 3:21Speaker 3: And Dalton comes up to me. He's like this, mister
- 3:23Speaker 3: bright Side is about to hit.
- 3:25Speaker 2: I was like what.
- 3:26Speaker 3: He was like, They're about to play it right now,
- 3:27Speaker 3: and I was like all right, And uh, there was
- 3:30Speaker 3: there was one game earlier in the season where I
- 3:31Speaker 3: was like kind of singing along to it. I was
- 3:33Speaker 3: reading the words on the screen, just trying to act
- 3:35Speaker 3: like I knew what was going on, but I still
- 3:36Speaker 3: didn't really know. But yeah, it's it's.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Become a tradition here and it's a lot of fun.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Why do you enjoy your teammates, your friends getting to
- 3:45Speaker 1: have that type of moment.
- 3:46Speaker 3: Because they're just so goofy all the time, and it's
- 3:49Speaker 3: like we get that opportunity to really show how much
- 3:52Speaker 3: we love each other and how much we have this
- 3:55Speaker 3: this family style feeling in this building.
- 3:58Speaker 1: You speak about loving each other. I think something like
- 4:01Speaker 1: loving your teammates is expressed on the field. You plan
- 4:04Speaker 1: special teams quite a bit. Yeah, and there was a
- 4:07Speaker 1: huge hit that you had against the Ravens. It was
- 4:11Speaker 1: their second drive of the game. You back them up
- 4:13Speaker 1: on the two yard line. What is the art of
- 4:15Speaker 1: a Reggie Gilliam hit?
- 4:16Speaker 3: Honestly, I'm just like a heat seeking missile when I'm
- 4:20Speaker 3: running down on kickoff or really any special teams, a
- 4:23Speaker 3: cover unit.
- 4:24Speaker 2: That I'm thinking that I gotta get to the ball.
- 4:26Speaker 3: And sometimes you'll see on film there's a couple times
- 4:30Speaker 3: where I'm moving so fast I miss because I'm just
- 4:32Speaker 3: trying to absolutely lay into the guy.
- 4:36Speaker 2: And when I connect, it's pretty loud.
- 4:39Speaker 1: When you connect, it's loud. You have the nickname of Sledge.
- 4:42Speaker 1: Where does that come from?
- 4:44Speaker 3: That originates from Western High School? My high school in Galloway, Ohio,
- 4:48Speaker 3: a suburb of Columbus. My coach Kyle Gebel told me
- 4:54Speaker 3: that I hit like a sledgehammer, and so that's where
- 4:59Speaker 3: I started coming from, calling me Regis Sledge. So I
- 5:01Speaker 3: carried that through college and then I eventually just dropped
- 5:04Speaker 3: the redge the part and just went with sledge.
- 5:06Speaker 1: Is that something you're born with or something that you learn?
- 5:08Speaker 1: Hitting that hard?
- 5:10Speaker 3: Honestly, I think it's something that you're born with. You know,
- 5:13Speaker 3: you can't really teach the tenacity that comes with it.
- 5:16Speaker 3: It's just kind of like, you know, I'm two hundred
- 5:19Speaker 3: and fifty pounds, I'm a heavy dude, and I can
- 5:21Speaker 3: move decently well, so you know, just the laws of physics,
- 5:26Speaker 3: you know, or mass moving at a certain speed is
- 5:28Speaker 3: going to be a collision.
- 5:29Speaker 1: So I watch practices and during the Special Teams unit portion,
- 5:34Speaker 1: when you guys are on the field practicing together, it
- 5:36Speaker 1: seems like there's a lot of pride in playing on
- 5:40Speaker 1: special teams and within that you see guys fighting to
- 5:44Speaker 1: race down the field. He's going to get there first.
- 5:46Speaker 1: And I know you're not tackling in practices, but how
- 5:49Speaker 1: does that mindset help you in the games?
- 5:51Speaker 3: It helps a ton, And I really think that starts
- 5:53Speaker 3: at the top with Matthew Smiley. He's, you know, been
- 5:55Speaker 3: here the whole time that I've been here, and he's
- 5:57Speaker 3: been great, just you know, coaching guys up and getting
- 6:00Speaker 3: guys to want to play hard for him because he's
- 6:02Speaker 3: just that type of guy that you don't want to
- 6:04Speaker 3: let down. So it's like he's made it fun, but
- 6:06Speaker 3: he has also made it like the environment, the atmosphere
- 6:10Speaker 3: that we play in is that this is how we are.
- 6:12Speaker 3: We play with juice, we play fast, we play smart,
- 6:15Speaker 3: and that's just how we all are.
- 6:16Speaker 2: How do you.
- 6:17Speaker 1: Believe that you guys can set the tone in a game?
- 6:21Speaker 3: I think special teams goes a long way setting tones
- 6:23Speaker 3: because you know, like you said the other last week,
- 6:26Speaker 3: you know, a big hit can spark the defense and
- 6:28Speaker 3: the field position battle that special teams is, you know,
- 6:32Speaker 3: it's all complementary football. Like Sean always says that special
- 6:35Speaker 3: teams is like that key that you know, people mostly
- 6:37Speaker 3: most times overlook, but it could be the difference in
- 6:40Speaker 3: a game.
- 6:40Speaker 2: A lot of.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Times you mentioned being from Ohio going to Westland High School.
- 6:43Speaker 1: You're the first player from your high school to make
- 6:46Speaker 1: it to the NFL. What does it take to go
- 6:49Speaker 1: from that to now be in your fifth season with Buffalo?
- 6:52Speaker 2: Yeah, it wasn't.
- 6:53Speaker 3: It wasn't easy by any means, coming from a small school,
- 6:56Speaker 3: well not even a small school, just not a.
- 6:58Speaker 2: School that has been successful in the past.
- 7:01Speaker 3: My entire college career, I only won seven games, or
- 7:04Speaker 3: entire high school career only won seven games. I won
- 7:06Speaker 3: a lot in college, but yeah, in high school, we
- 7:09Speaker 3: didn't win a lot of games. So we didn't have
- 7:11Speaker 3: a lot of scouts coming around.
- 7:12Speaker 2: To see us.
- 7:13Speaker 3: We we I think I had two scouts total come
- 7:17Speaker 3: see me in high school. So it wasn't like, you know,
- 7:19Speaker 3: these high schools now where you know, kids are, you know,
- 7:22Speaker 3: transferring high schools to be seen like.
- 7:23Speaker 2: It wasn't any of that.
- 7:24Speaker 3: I stayed in my high school because I wanted to
- 7:26Speaker 3: be with my friends, and I knew I always knew
- 7:29Speaker 3: I wanted to go to the NFL, but I knew
- 7:31Speaker 3: it was going to be a challenge coming from Westland,
- 7:33Speaker 3: where you know, people didn't really come looking for college players.
- 7:37Speaker 2: But there was a game, like my third game of
- 7:39Speaker 2: my senior year.
- 7:41Speaker 3: The linebackers coach was like the Columbus recruiting area guy.
- 7:46Speaker 3: He messaged me on Twitter after I had just had
- 7:49Speaker 3: a big game and he said, like, I really liked
- 7:51Speaker 3: your tape. I want you to come up for a game.
- 7:54Speaker 3: They're like walk on weekend or whatever. So I came
- 7:55Speaker 3: up to tell you the campus and fell in love within.
- 7:58Speaker 2: The rest is history.
- 7:59Speaker 1: Really, that's awesome that you got an opportunity like that
- 8:01Speaker 1: and somebody saw your tape and saw the potential within you.
- 8:04Speaker 1: But when you win only seven games throughout your high
- 8:06Speaker 1: school career and you have goals to make it in
- 8:10Speaker 1: college football and beyond, what does that do to your mentals?
- 8:13Speaker 1: When when you're out of school and nothing on the school.
- 8:16Speaker 1: But it's just it wasn't a good program.
- 8:18Speaker 3: It just wasn't a place where, you know, colleges were
- 8:20Speaker 3: coming to look and I had I had like Division
- 8:22Speaker 3: three schools coming, but I was like, I'm already a
- 8:24Speaker 3: small school high school guy. There's no way that I
- 8:27Speaker 3: can go Division three and make it to the NFL.
- 8:29Speaker 3: And even my coach Gogil that you know, gave me
- 8:32Speaker 3: the Sledge nickname. He was telling me like, hey, you
- 8:33Speaker 3: should try to go D two, you know, make a
- 8:36Speaker 3: name for yourself and then maybe a transferred D one.
- 8:38Speaker 3: And I told him like, look like I have to
- 8:39Speaker 3: go D one or I'm not going to make it.
- 8:41Speaker 3: So what I ended up doing was walking on at Toledo.
- 8:44Speaker 3: Was a walk on there for two years. I got
- 8:45Speaker 3: a scholarship my third year and became a two time
- 8:48Speaker 3: captain there, had a great career on special teams and
- 8:51Speaker 3: offensively blocking, and then another thing happened with COVID twenty twenty.
- 8:56Speaker 3: I was at a pro day that got canceled, so
- 8:58Speaker 3: it was just like another thing in my way. I
- 8:59Speaker 3: was like, this is really it's really getting tough. But
- 9:02Speaker 3: luckily Sean Sean McDermott calls me after the draft and
- 9:06Speaker 3: tells me you want to give me a shot.
- 9:08Speaker 2: So here I am.
- 9:08Speaker 1: Why do you believe you fit here in Buffalo?
- 9:11Speaker 3: I feel like Buffalo is like that blue collar work,
- 9:14Speaker 3: you know, just put your head down and grind kind
- 9:16Speaker 3: of thing and fit. I feel like that fits me
- 9:17Speaker 3: perfectly because nothing was ever given to me.
- 9:20Speaker 2: I had to you know, I came from a small school.
- 9:21Speaker 3: I had to earn a scholarship, and then I essentially
- 9:24Speaker 3: had to earn another spot I was. I walked on
- 9:26Speaker 3: here again, you know, making it to the fifty three
- 9:29Speaker 3: my rookie year.
- 9:30Speaker 2: So it was just like, it's kind of what I do.
- 9:33Speaker 3: It's what I do being a blue collar you know,
- 9:36Speaker 3: head down, do what I'm told, get it done, kind
- 9:38Speaker 3: of guy.
- 9:38Speaker 1: Full Backs are a blue collar type of position. I
- 9:41Speaker 1: would say, you're jumping in and out of tight ends meetings.
- 9:44Speaker 1: Probably offensive line as well, running backs too. Why do
- 9:48Speaker 1: full backs deserve more respect because.
- 9:50Speaker 2: We play every position. Like you see Kyle Yuschek.
- 9:53Speaker 3: He he's running wheel routes down the sideline, he's blocking,
- 9:56Speaker 3: he's getting the handoff, he's a kick returner, holding the
- 10:01Speaker 3: pat like he does everything.
- 10:03Speaker 2: And I feel like he really.
- 10:04Speaker 3: Embodies what a fullback is because the fullback is like
- 10:06Speaker 3: the Swiss Army knife of the offense. We can do
- 10:09Speaker 3: whatever anything you may need, but the defense has to
- 10:11Speaker 3: respect it still because they don't know what you're gonna do.
- 10:14Speaker 3: So I feel like that it's a bit of a
- 10:16Speaker 3: lost art. But people that understand, they know.
- 10:19Speaker 1: How can we campaign for Reggie gilliam touchdown in the
- 10:22Speaker 1: AFC Championship Game.
- 10:24Speaker 2: You have to talk to Joe Brady and give you
- 10:25Speaker 2: a number.
- 10:26Speaker 1: I'll call up Joe and then say, hey, Joe, I
- 10:28Speaker 1: think this would look really nice on tape.
- 10:31Speaker 2: Yeah. Please.
- 10:33Speaker 1: You get to be on the line sometimes with the
- 10:36Speaker 1: offensive line, they've done a heck of a job this
- 10:38Speaker 1: season protecting Josh Allen like his life is on the line.
- 10:42Speaker 1: What's been the difference this year, Coach Cromer.
- 10:45Speaker 3: He's got a really good rapport with the guys, and
- 10:47Speaker 3: we all get along really well. The times that I
- 10:49Speaker 3: have been in the room with them learning whatever run
- 10:51Speaker 3: scheme it is, they all get along great. And it
- 10:54Speaker 3: shows up on tape that everyone's on the same page
- 10:56Speaker 3: all the time because of what Chromer teaches, and Kromer
- 10:59Speaker 3: is one of the best teachers I've ever been around.
- 11:01Speaker 1: When you hit a nice block, describe the feeling because
- 11:06Speaker 1: on the outside looking and I mean there are some
- 11:08Speaker 1: blocks that show up on tape where you're watching the
- 11:11Speaker 1: game as a fan and you're like, oh my gosh,
- 11:13Speaker 1: that looks in like pancake blocks. What Dion Dawkins does
- 11:17Speaker 1: what seems like every other play, Yeah, what is that feeling?
- 11:19Speaker 2: Like?
- 11:20Speaker 3: I even said this, I even said this back in
- 11:22Speaker 3: college that I said that a good block feels better
- 11:25Speaker 3: than the run itself, just because like, you know, you
- 11:28Speaker 3: sprung the block. Or like if I'm say, if I'm
- 11:31Speaker 3: at the point of attack on a block and I
- 11:33Speaker 3: kick my guy out and I feel James run right
- 11:35Speaker 3: behind me, I'm like, oh, thank goodness, like he's gone,
- 11:37Speaker 3: because I know that if if I'm at the point
- 11:39Speaker 3: of attack and I do my job, then that allows
- 11:41Speaker 3: him to do his job and he looks great. And
- 11:42Speaker 3: it's not like I need all the credit for it,
- 11:44Speaker 3: but I just want him to know that, like I
- 11:45Speaker 3: got his back.
- 11:46Speaker 1: You spoke about James Cook. Sixteen rushing touchdowns in the
- 11:49Speaker 1: regular season ties for the most in the league, But
- 11:52Speaker 1: nobody's talking about James Cook. I've you could say that
- 11:55Speaker 1: about a lot of players who have great seasons in Buffalo,
- 11:58Speaker 1: the blue collar town being counted out, YadA, YadA. I
- 12:01Speaker 1: could go on, how fun is it watching James this year?
- 12:03Speaker 3: Oh, it's a ton just seeing from where he was
- 12:06Speaker 3: his rookie year to where he is now is nine
- 12:08Speaker 3: day difference.
- 12:09Speaker 2: I knew when he first got.
- 12:10Speaker 3: Here he's gonna be really special, just because of the
- 12:12Speaker 3: way that he is able to run between the tackles
- 12:14Speaker 3: but also run outside and catch passes. He's a bit
- 12:17Speaker 3: of a fullback himself. He can do a little bit
- 12:19Speaker 3: of everything. So James has really been awesome to have
- 12:22Speaker 3: a round here.
- 12:23Speaker 1: What does a pregame routine look like for Reggie Gilliam.
- 12:26Speaker 3: I love a chill day getting in so I mean
- 12:29Speaker 3: it's different depending on what time kickoff is, but most
- 12:31Speaker 3: time kickoffs around one o'clock. But I like to wake
- 12:33Speaker 3: up for like seven thirty eight o'clock and I just
- 12:35Speaker 3: kind of take my time, eat breakfast, get to the stadium,
- 12:38Speaker 3: and just relax, try to can serve as much energy
- 12:41Speaker 3: and energy as I can, and just kind of think
- 12:43Speaker 3: about and visualize what I'm going to do at kickoff.
- 12:46Speaker 1: Is it easy to relax on a game day.
- 12:50Speaker 2: I've mastered a lot a lot more now. When I
- 12:52Speaker 2: was younger, it was like really really jittery, and.
- 12:55Speaker 1: I mean I get in and I'm jittering. I think
- 12:58Speaker 1: about you guys. I'm like, I can't imagine how well
- 13:00Speaker 1: they think it's five hours before kickoff on this game
- 13:02Speaker 1: needs to start in twenty minutes.
- 13:04Speaker 2: Yeah, it's really tough.
- 13:05Speaker 3: Well it was tough for me, but as I've gotten older,
- 13:07Speaker 3: I've kind of just been able to kind of manage
- 13:11Speaker 3: that better. Just kind of wait for your energy, wait
- 13:14Speaker 3: to expel it. So I like to listen to you know,
- 13:17Speaker 3: like R and B and like soft things before the
- 13:19Speaker 3: game starts, because I know a lot of guys are
- 13:21Speaker 3: like heavy metal wrap whatever.
- 13:24Speaker 2: That's not me.
- 13:24Speaker 3: I like to just kind of be zen before the
- 13:28Speaker 3: game and then empty yes, and then once that first
- 13:31Speaker 3: whistle blows, that's when you cut it loose.
- 13:33Speaker 1: Okay, so you cut it loose when the first whistle blows.
- 13:35Speaker 1: How do you get yourself to a place where you
- 13:37Speaker 1: can cut it loose?
- 13:39Speaker 2: It really starts for home games.
- 13:41Speaker 3: I know it starts when we have like the legend
- 13:43Speaker 3: of the game, go where else did you rather be?
- 13:45Speaker 3: Like that's when I'm like, all right, here we go.
- 13:46Speaker 3: Like I get juiced up off that and like I'm
- 13:48Speaker 3: lining up for kickoff and I'm like, all right, let's go.
- 13:51Speaker 2: So it starts.
- 13:52Speaker 3: Well, it doesn't start there, but like that's when I
- 13:55Speaker 3: really flipped the switch. I'd say it at first initially
- 13:58Speaker 3: starts when we run out for the team. I always
- 14:00Speaker 3: do this thing when I run out. I turn around,
- 14:02Speaker 3: I look at everybody in the stands, and I'm like,
- 14:04Speaker 3: all these people are here to see you do what
- 14:06Speaker 3: you love.
- 14:07Speaker 1: Dion had a clip that kind of went viral during
- 14:10Speaker 1: the Ravens game. He was miked up and he turned
- 14:13Speaker 1: I don't know who he was talking to, but he
- 14:14Speaker 1: turned around and he said, do you ever just look
- 14:16Speaker 1: at the fans and think how beautiful is this?
- 14:18Speaker 2: Oh yeah, And I thought it.
- 14:19Speaker 1: Was a really cool moment to just sit there in
- 14:21Speaker 1: the middle of a game and take a beat and
- 14:23Speaker 1: just look up at Bill's mafia just going wild for
- 14:27Speaker 1: you guys.
- 14:28Speaker 2: Yeah, that's real, especially for me. In my rookie year.
- 14:30Speaker 2: There was no fans in the stands.
- 14:31Speaker 3: Yeah, so my first however, many games until the playoffs,
- 14:35Speaker 3: because's when they started letting fans in. They let like
- 14:37Speaker 3: six thousand fans in or whatever. But my first seventeen
- 14:41Speaker 3: games or whatever were dead silent. You could hear everything
- 14:44Speaker 3: on the field. You hear what everybody's saying, so it
- 14:46Speaker 3: was really weird. It sounded like a practice. But once
- 14:49Speaker 3: my first game, I think it was a playoff game
- 14:51Speaker 3: against the Colts, I think it was the first time
- 14:54Speaker 3: we had fans in the stands. There was like only
- 14:56Speaker 3: like six thousand fans. But I remember running out because
- 14:59Speaker 3: I was like, that was the most people I'd ever
- 15:00Speaker 3: seen the stands. You know, I played at tiny school
- 15:02Speaker 3: in Westland and then you know, played in the mackets.
- 15:04Speaker 3: You know, there was never I mean they would they
- 15:07Speaker 3: would fill the sands, action shows up decently, but for
- 15:10Speaker 3: six thousand fans to make it sound like it was
- 15:12Speaker 3: a full stadium. Was incredible, and then it's like the
- 15:15Speaker 3: next season, you see the whole stadium is full with
- 15:18Speaker 3: I don't even know seventy thousand people and they're all
- 15:20Speaker 3: screaming their heads off like it's it's a really cool feeling.
- 15:23Speaker 3: And I like to think about last weekend when we
- 15:28Speaker 3: played the Ravens. They had a fourth, third or fourth down.
- 15:32Speaker 3: It was coming up and I and I remember turning
- 15:34Speaker 3: around looking back like, wow, these people are really going crazy.
- 15:36Speaker 3: So like I'm trying to hype them up even more,
- 15:38Speaker 3: like I'm getting rowdy with them, trying to get trying
- 15:41Speaker 3: to help the defense out, but I'm getting routy with them.
- 15:42Speaker 3: And you know, you see people with their shirts off
- 15:44Speaker 3: and people going absolutely insane, and that there's just nothing
- 15:47Speaker 3: like it.
- 15:47Speaker 1: Is anybody better than Jordan Phillips trying to hype up the.
- 15:50Speaker 2: C Yeah his signature of a drive. Yeah, his signature move.
- 15:53Speaker 3: He's out there on the field doing it like before
- 15:55Speaker 3: the play, and I'm like, yeah, Jordan's great, It's amazing.
- 15:58Speaker 1: Let's go back to the tight ends. You said those
- 16:00Speaker 1: are your buddies, those are the guys you spend the
- 16:02Speaker 1: most time with who's the one cracking jokes in that
- 16:05Speaker 1: position group?
- 16:06Speaker 2: Oh? Man, everybody's a comedian in that group.
- 16:10Speaker 3: I think I think Dalton was probably the like comedian
- 16:15Speaker 3: that cracks jokes. But me and Q we got this
- 16:18Speaker 3: thing like if we make eye contact at the right time,
- 16:20Speaker 3: we'll just bust out laughing. So it's a really good
- 16:24Speaker 3: group of guys. And you know Zach, he's he's like
- 16:26Speaker 3: the golden retriever of the group. He's got all the
- 16:29Speaker 3: energy and he acts like a middle school kid. So
- 16:31Speaker 3: it's a really good group of guys.
- 16:33Speaker 1: What does Reggie bring to the tight Ends room?
- 16:35Speaker 2: They call me like the dad of the group, because
- 16:37Speaker 2: I don't.
- 16:38Speaker 1: Think Dawson would be the dad.
- 16:39Speaker 3: We're both kind of like the dads of the group.
- 16:41Speaker 3: We're kind of the more matured ones, and we're kind
- 16:44Speaker 3: of always like looking at them like why would you
- 16:46Speaker 3: do that? Why are you making that noise? Trying to
- 16:49Speaker 3: keep them in line, but it's like they're so funny
- 16:51Speaker 3: you can't help but laugh sometimes.
- 16:53Speaker 1: How does Rob boris your tight Ends coach wrangle the group?
- 16:56Speaker 3: Uh, some days are better than others. Some days you
- 16:59Speaker 3: could tell he gets a little annoyed with this.
- 17:00Speaker 1: Because I'm sick and tired of you guys.
- 17:02Speaker 3: But no, he has a lot of love for us.
- 17:04Speaker 3: He tells us all the time that we're his favorite group.
- 17:06Speaker 2: Of people he's coached.
- 17:08Speaker 3: And he tries to act like you know, he's tough sometimes,
- 17:11Speaker 3: but we get him to crack every now and then
- 17:14Speaker 3: he's awesome.
- 17:14Speaker 1: Reggie, you're speaking and I and I hear the love
- 17:17Speaker 1: that you have for your teammates inside of the tight
- 17:19Speaker 1: Ends room and even the team at large. When you
- 17:22Speaker 1: look at this group, what they've put together this season,
- 17:24Speaker 1: so many people doubted you. Why do you believe this
- 17:27Speaker 1: group is capable of winning a couple? More?
- 17:30Speaker 2: Like what I said earlier, we all believe in each other.
- 17:33Speaker 3: It doesn't matter what everybody's saying outside these doors, like
- 17:35Speaker 3: it's it's what's going on in here. They don't know
- 17:37Speaker 3: what's going on in here. And I remember hearing about
- 17:40Speaker 3: all the things before camp that you know, we're not talented,
- 17:42Speaker 3: we're not this, we're not that, But none of that matters.
- 17:45Speaker 2: We do what we do and we keep going.
- 17:48Speaker 1: I love it. Do what you do and keep going.
- 17:49Speaker 1: Can't wait for this week and beyond. It's gonna be
- 17:51Speaker 1: It's gonna be fun couple of weeks. I believe it.
- 17:53Speaker 2: Yeah, I believe it.
- 17:54Speaker 1: Thanks Rege and dot bock Bod
