Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: I can show to the world that you know, a
- 0:02kid from you know, war torn country can actually be
- 0:06the best in a sport that is very global. That's
- 0:08what happened. That all of these experiences have been there
- 0:12for a reason. And I don't regret anything, I don't
- 0:16pity anything.
- 0:17Speaker 2: I just feel like that's something that I have to
- 0:19go through.
- 0:22Speaker 3: And I think it's so beautiful that you are mentoring
- 0:24other Serbian talents this place, because I think that's what
- 0:28everyone needs. They need a guide in hand, they need
- 0:31someone's being there. We need to share, absolutely, yeah, And
- 0:34I think so much of the time we live in
- 0:36this scarcity mindset. Even with the deals, people say things like, oh,
- 0:39it's good for you right now, but it might not
- 0:41be later to make the most of it, and then
- 0:44that intention is fueling people through, you know, greedy mentality.
- 0:48Speaker 2: It's got Now is the time you've got to use
- 0:50it otherwise, you know.
- 0:52Speaker 1: I know, I know because I've been and still trying
- 0:57to learn how to manage this myself, because I have
- 1:01also lots of opportunities and being number one of the
- 1:04world and tennis is a global sport and everything, but
- 1:07you know, I'm kind of going through this this kind
- 1:13of centering process of understanding what I need to you know,
- 1:18do in order to organize my life better, in order
- 1:21to focus on what is the most important, you know,
- 1:24aspect of my existence here, you know, the the inner piece,
- 1:29you know, the spiritual growth, the understanding of self, and and.
- 1:35Speaker 2: Of course the family, the close ones. But you know,
- 1:38for for for most.
- 1:39Speaker 1: Of my careers about tennis all the time, you know,
- 1:41so tennis, tennis, tennis, and then my ego.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Plays with me so much. I mean, it plays with.
- 1:47Speaker 1: All of us, you know, absolutely, But you know it's
- 1:50I've been I've been thinking, firstly that ego is the enemy,
- 1:53but actually now I'm I'm kind of more leaning towards
- 1:57the theory that lead that ego is is should be befriended.
- 2:02Speaker 2: You know, it should be you know, part of your.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Process of thinking of feeling. And in this way, you're
- 2:13also disarming your ego in a way, right, rather than
- 2:18kind of trying to reject it.
- 2:20Speaker 2: And then you're creating this and.
- 2:22Speaker 1: This is so much you know, what we're actually going
- 2:25through in an outside world as well, right, Yeah.
- 2:29Speaker 3: So let me introduce you and then I'll explain why
- 2:32I did it. I think it makes sense. Hey, everyone,
- 2:34thank you so much for coming back for this very
- 2:36very special episode. I'm genuinely so honored and grateful to
- 2:42introduce our next guest. Not only is he the number
- 2:46one tennis player in the world, he has fourteen Grand
- 2:48Slam titles, including four Wimbledons, But on top of all
- 2:53of that, he's extremely spiritual and incredible healer, transformer and
- 2:58someone who's doing so much great work in the world.
- 3:02I've had the pleasure of getting to know him over
- 3:04Instagram and WhatsApp, and today I get to sit down
- 3:07with him for the first time. But he's definitely someone
- 3:10who's attracted me here to Monaco through his energy and
- 3:14through his incredibly humble and graceful spirit. So Novak, it
- 3:19is an absolute pleasure with you, my friend, my friend.
- 3:22Speaker 4: And I feel your energy over what's up on Instagram.
- 3:25I feel it in front of you right now, and
- 3:27I really believe that we've just been pulled together, so
- 3:30so good. I mean, thank you so much for coming
- 3:34to see me here.
- 3:35Speaker 1: I'm really honored, And it's as you said, you know,
- 3:40social media was the platform through which we established the
- 3:44first connection. But I feel like, you know, watching you
- 3:50and what you do and sharing your message. I felt
- 3:53connected with you instantly, and your message deeply resonates with
- 3:57me with people that are close to me.
- 4:01Speaker 2: And it's a dream come true to be with you
- 4:03here today.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Now.
- 4:04Speaker 3: You're the sweetest man, and I genuinely feel that when
- 4:07you have a good and anyone who's listening, I highly
- 4:09recommend this. If you have a good online connection with someone,
- 4:13take it offline as quick as you can. Yes, like
- 4:15turn it into face to face. And that's what I
- 4:16saw that we were connecting so beautifully. I remember one
- 4:19of the first things you said to me was higher
- 4:21forces are connecting us, like higher forces are between us
- 4:25getting connected. And when you said that to me, I
- 4:27just felt I have to meet you. There's no need
- 4:29to keep this relationship online. There's no need to just
- 4:33have it here. If this is someone who truly believes
- 4:35there's a deeper connection here, let's let's get together, let's
- 4:38see each other. So I'm so grateful that you opened
- 4:40up this opportunity for me to visit you.
- 4:42Speaker 1: Thank you very much, and I'm really grateful that and generally,
- 4:47you know, honored that you guys came all the way
- 4:49from la you know, it's a long trip, and I
- 4:52think we, you know, we all share a common kind
- 4:57of vision and compassion for you know, for the world,
- 5:01and we I think we all interact, you know, with
- 5:05the world in very similar ways, even though we you know,
- 5:08I'm an athlete, but I don't like to categorize or
- 5:12label myself as an athlete, you know, as society likes.
- 5:17Speaker 2: I think we we expand much more than that.
- 5:19Speaker 1: And social media and internet is great if you use
- 5:25it in the right way.
- 5:26Speaker 2: So I feel like it's a it's a great.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Platform, and it got us connected and we're here today
- 5:31and not a while ago.
- 5:33Speaker 2: I've sent you a message on Instagram because I'm I'm
- 5:35your fan.
- 5:36Speaker 1: I follow, of course, I follow your message, and I
- 5:38follow your energy and everything that you've been spreading and
- 5:42sharing with people. So I'm just happy to to get
- 5:46deep and talk about, you know, things that I usually.
- 5:49Speaker 2: Don't get asked on the tennis tournament. So it's it's
- 5:52really exciting.
- 5:53Speaker 3: Absolutely absolutely, and that's what I love about you, and
- 5:55that's what I'm excited if everyone is listening and watching,
- 5:58is that you are an athlete. But what I was
- 6:01saying to you earlier is you are so much more,
- 6:03and you have so much more to give. You've worked
- 6:05so hard on the court. But what I love about
- 6:08you is that you're also an inner athlete, Like you're
- 6:10doing this inner work and you've really focused on growing yourself,
- 6:14healing yourself, working on yourself. So let's dive into all
- 6:17of that today. Make this the interview where you. Make
- 6:19this the interview where you get to talk about everything
- 6:22that's important to you. And that's why this podcast actually started.
- 6:25I was speaking at an event last year and Tom
- 6:28Brady was speaking before me, and he was interviewed by
- 6:31a sports journalist and the confidence was actually about building
- 6:35meaningful lives, so I was asked to speak about that topic.
- 6:37Tom was speaking before and the interviewer asked him a
- 6:40question and Tom started speaking about his family. He started
- 6:43talking about being a father, He started talking about all
- 6:46these beautiful values and responsibilities and how he's growing now
- 6:50that his sports career is coming to you know, a
- 6:54natural end, etc. And the sports journalist just said and
- 6:57they said, Tom, leave all this soft stuff. Let's talk
- 7:00about the sports. And I felt so bad for him
- 7:04because I just felt like he was really trying to
- 7:06open up his heart and the sports journalist was almost
- 7:10just squashing all of that and saying, let's just talk
- 7:11about your rings, like let's talk about the medals. And
- 7:14so I wanted to build a platform where people like
- 7:16yourself and people from music, media, movies, film, everyone can
- 7:20actually come and talk about your deeper sides and your
- 7:24real heart. So I want you to feel really comfortable
- 7:26to be able to do that today.
- 7:27Speaker 2: I am very much in you.
- 7:29Speaker 1: Were definitely one of the very few people that in
- 7:33my life and that I've known you know thus far,
- 7:37and of course that I'm following that I can share
- 7:40this message with.
- 7:41Speaker 2: And I truly mean.
- 7:43Speaker 1: That because and I don't mean that in a bad
- 7:46way for the society. I'm not judging. I don't like
- 7:48the judgment. I don't like that, you know, the word
- 7:51hatred or anything like that. You know, I respect everyone,
- 7:55and I respect also this kind of moment in time
- 7:59that we as people are, you know, and our society
- 8:03is where it is with the reason and we just
- 8:06have to go through that stage of development, I think,
- 8:09and an evolution. And it took me time to really,
- 8:13I feel like, come to that understanding in a way
- 8:16because I was also for many years through my character
- 8:23building process and spiritual development and kind of opening my
- 8:28mind to different dimensions and horizons of you know, self
- 8:33awareness and self care. I was just feeling a lot
- 8:40of times lonely, you know, and I just felt like
- 8:45what I was doing was not understood, especially in my world,
- 8:49and not just understood, but it was not accepted, which
- 8:51was even worse because then, you know, you're labeled as
- 8:55a kind of like a black sheep, you know, in
- 8:58the herd. And but I still wanted to play tennis
- 9:02and still stay in that, in that in that sport,
- 9:04in that uh you know, field of life which I have,
- 9:08and I'm not you know, regretting contrary, I'm so blessed
- 9:12to do what I love. I've started playing tennis when
- 9:15I was four years old, and my family did not
- 9:20have any tennis traditions, so it was literally a sign
- 9:23of a destiny. Three tennis courts in front of my
- 9:27parents restaurant in a small mountain place in Serbia called Coponic.
- 9:33My father was sorry, but giving you a little background,
- 9:39was a professional skier. He was a skiing instructor. That's
- 9:41how he met my mom on the skiing slope. And
- 9:44you know, it's a funny story you know, she kind
- 9:46of like tell us she you know, she she she
- 9:49was skiing and then she fell. And then he was
- 9:51there and he's like, you know, you didn't help. I
- 9:53didn't I think I can help you.
- 9:55Speaker 3: And he probably.
- 9:56Speaker 1: Organized the whole thing, you know, But but you know
- 9:59it's they met, and you know, they they you know,
- 10:02six months later they got they got married, and I
- 10:04was already my mom was pregnant with me, and and
- 10:07then a year later they opened a restaurant in the
- 10:09very mountain where they met, and that's the restaurant was
- 10:13the business that generated the you know, the budget for
- 10:17our family. So we spent a lot of time there
- 10:19because we lived three hours by car away in the
- 10:21capital city of Serbia, Belgrade, where I went to school.
- 10:25And my two younger brothers have two younger brothers. Their
- 10:29names are Marco and Georgia. They're one is four years
- 10:31old younger than me, and the other one is eight
- 10:33years younger than me. And this is like we talked about,
- 10:36you know, my children and the Indigo children and a
- 10:38kind of like a new wave of you know, energy and.
- 10:42Speaker 2: Conscienceness and awareness that we're receiving from above.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Through children that already have you know what we don't have,
- 10:49you know, And that's what I see in my brother,
- 10:52you know, And and he's been born with this capacity
- 10:55and ability to just multitask and deal with things so
- 10:59successfully and still be happy. And it's it's quite amazing. So,
- 11:02you know, going back to my story is you know,
- 11:05I've felt.
- 11:06Speaker 2: That in my world tennis.
- 11:07Speaker 1: I just when you're a professional athlete, you know, it's
- 11:12all about winning or losing, right, I just I don't
- 11:16see losing or failure as as such. I see it
- 11:23as another great lesson that waits for me to learn from.
- 11:29Speaker 3: Do you always have that even when you were young?
- 11:31Speaker 2: No, I just as I said, I went through my evolution, and.
- 11:36Speaker 1: I was fortunate really that when I started playing tennis,
- 11:40I ran into and came across some really really knowledgeable
- 11:47people about tennis and about life in particular. One woman,
- 11:55and her name is Yelling again, chicch she's not with
- 11:57us anymore.
- 11:58Speaker 2: She passed away twenty twelve. She was my tennis mother.
- 12:01Speaker 1: And so my parents, you know, invested a lot of
- 12:05energy and efforts in those times. During nineties when I
- 12:08was growing up, we had two wars. We had unfortunately
- 12:14War that broke down the whole Yugoslavian region because it
- 12:17was a big Yugoslavian country, very strong, made of you know,
- 12:21six different states, I mean countries that are right now independent.
- 12:25Speaker 2: I'm coming from one of them, which is Serbia.
- 12:28Speaker 1: And then during nineties, from like ninety one, ninety two
- 12:33all the way to two thousand, we had embargo, so
- 12:37people waiting in line for bread and milk and like
- 12:41absolutely most you know, necessary things. And then ninety nine
- 12:47we had in Serbia, we had bombings for two and
- 12:51a half months, every single day and night.
- 12:53Speaker 2: I was there, my family was there, every single day.
- 12:56Speaker 1: We woke up every night for two and a half
- 12:58months because of the alarm, because of the planes flying
- 13:01over us.
- 13:02Speaker 2: And it was devastating, It was frightening.
- 13:04Speaker 1: It was worst thing that definitely, you know, we ever experienced,
- 13:10you know, seeing planes over your head and just dropping
- 13:12bombs and you know, hospitals and everything.
- 13:15Speaker 2: It was just terrible. Many innocent people died.
- 13:18Speaker 1: Thankfully, I didn't lose personally anyone that is very close
- 13:22to me. But I know people that lost, you know,
- 13:25their loved ones, and that's a scar that stays with
- 13:29you forever. So this memory stays and will stay with
- 13:33me forever. But at the beginning, I felt like probably
- 13:40most of the people in our country, I felt, I
- 13:44want revenge, you know, I felt like, you know, who
- 13:49are these guys, two bomb innocent people?
- 13:52Speaker 2: What the hell is going on?
- 13:53Speaker 1: I was twelve years old, and I remember I was
- 13:56there day night and I celebrated my twelfth birth day
- 14:00during the day because we didn't go to schools obviously,
- 14:03it was just hiding in shelters and everything. And then
- 14:06we just after a week or two hiding in shelters,
- 14:08we just said, okay, we're just gonna, you know, go
- 14:11about our life and that's it. You know, we don't
- 14:14We're not gonna care what happens if you.
- 14:17Speaker 2: Know, if we're hit, we're hit. You know what we
- 14:20can do? I mean.
- 14:21Speaker 1: And so I remember on my twelfth birthday, kids were
- 14:25singing my friends at the tennis club, because we spend
- 14:28a lot of times playing tennis. We we didn't go
- 14:32to school, so for us it was great. And then
- 14:35we they were singing the Happy Birthday song and it
- 14:38was a plane flying and I have this image of
- 14:40mine plane and just kind of dropping bombs everywhere, and
- 14:43it was terrible, but at the same time, I felt
- 14:49like as I was kind of growing, you know, inside
- 14:55out as well, I felt and I think my parents
- 14:58helped me a lot with that, is that they you know,
- 15:02we can't judge the whole nation or everyone for the
- 15:06actions of certain individuals or certain groups or institutions or
- 15:11whatever that decided to bomb our country and just kill
- 15:14innocent people.
- 15:16Speaker 2: We can't, you know, judge everyone for that, you know.
- 15:20Speaker 1: And that's that's when I kind of like shifted and
- 15:22I just I write, you know, this moment, absolutely forgiven
- 15:26everyone and everything that have done that, but you cannot
- 15:30forget that, you know, you cannot forget that. It stays,
- 15:33as I said, as a car. But it has, on
- 15:36a brighter side, brought a lot of value to my
- 15:39life and a lot of appreciation for the value I
- 15:43felt like this experience. I'm so grateful for this experience,
- 15:46I truly am, because it has helped me to shape
- 15:50me into the person that I am today, the player
- 15:52tennis player that I am.
- 15:54Speaker 2: It has made me hungrier.
- 15:55Speaker 1: For the success in tennis, made me hungrier to work, train,
- 16:01build myself so I can show to the world that
- 16:04you know, a kid from you know, war torn country
- 16:08can actually be the best in a sport that is
- 16:10very global and uh and and.
- 16:12Speaker 2: So that's that's what happened.
- 16:14Speaker 1: But all of these experiences have definitely been there for
- 16:20a reason. And I I don't regret anything, I don't
- 16:23pity anything.
- 16:25Speaker 2: I just feel like, Okay, you know, that's that's my karma.
- 16:29Speaker 1: You know, that's something that I had to go through
- 16:31and I had to live that, and and and and
- 16:36if we managed to get through that as not just
- 16:38as a family, but as people as a nation, you know,
- 16:42there's there's not much that it can break you down.
- 16:44So in historically, you know, Serbian people and people in
- 16:48the region have have had a lot of you know,
- 16:51hard wars and ships and and and they've been through that.
- 16:55So it's it's really it was really nice to see
- 16:57the the unity with people.
- 17:00Speaker 2: And I remember one of them.
- 17:01Speaker 1: I was actually talking the other day with my brother
- 17:03and my wife about still reflecting on that period and
- 17:07what was the strongest image that stayed with us from
- 17:11the bombings of two and a half months in ninety nine,
- 17:14and one of them for me was obviously the one
- 17:17that I explained to you that with the birthday and
- 17:19shelters but there was.
- 17:21Speaker 2: One where I remember.
- 17:25Speaker 1: Thousands of people gathering on the bridge, one of the
- 17:27most important bridges in our city, with shirts that have
- 17:34targets there, and everyone painted their heads with target, like
- 17:38in the shape of a target and singing songs and
- 17:42you know, kind of just enjoying.
- 17:44Speaker 2: Having fun and in a way showing to the world.
- 17:48Speaker 1: And to whoever is you know, you know, kind of
- 17:53dropping bombs that we are the target. So we are
- 17:57protecting this bridge, we are protecting this this city.
- 18:00Speaker 2: You know, if you want to crash it, you have
- 18:02to go through us.
- 18:03Speaker 1: And and it was I think more than that, it
- 18:05was just that that that that power of unity, you know,
- 18:08that that energy and that strength that they just showed
- 18:10the resilience, and that was beautiful, you know, in those
- 18:13moments of Hartship.
- 18:15Speaker 3: That's incredible. Man, that's that's such a I've heard you
- 18:18tell that story. No no, and I'm glad no, and
- 18:23no no, I'm glad you did because I've heard that
- 18:25story before. I'm glad that everyone who hasn't heard that
- 18:27story before has an opportunity now. And the reason why
- 18:30it's so beautiful is because that's probably like most of
- 18:35the planet does not experience that. That's that's pretty extreme, yes, right,
- 18:39And so for someone like you to come from that extreme,
- 18:42and especially what you said your initial response was revenge.
- 18:45For you to be able to transform that revenge into resilience,
- 18:49that's incredible because it would have been so much easier
- 18:52to just have that pain and have that unforgiveness.
- 18:55Speaker 2: And so there was a great story that that I've read.
- 19:00Speaker 1: I'm sure it's quite popular on the social media. Everyone
- 19:04is sharing it. It was about the snake and the
- 19:06and the saw. I don't know if you came across
- 19:09it and you know the snakes.
- 19:11Speaker 2: It's a true story.
- 19:12Speaker 1: Actually, the snake came into the carpenter's shop and as
- 19:21it was kind of going and it got caught by
- 19:23the saw, and the saw kind of cut it, and
- 19:27the snake didn't realize what was happening, so it went
- 19:30to bite to yeah, to bite the saw, and it
- 19:34hurt itself even more so the snake didn't know what
- 19:38was happening, so it's started going around the saw in
- 19:42order to you know, suffocate it, thinking that Saul.
- 19:46Speaker 2: Is attacking it.
- 19:47Speaker 1: So it was you know, protecting itself, and finally snake
- 19:51died and and this kind of translates into life. And
- 19:56it's so many times that we get angry or upset,
- 20:00you know, with some people thinking that we want to
- 20:03hurt them because we feel hurt, but it finally we're
- 20:05hurting ourselves. And it was such a deep message that
- 20:10I kind of like resonated with really, and I think
- 20:13that kind of sums.
- 20:15Speaker 2: Up my evolution in a way and.
- 20:20Speaker 1: My growth mentally of how, you know, I should deal
- 20:25with these particular circumstances and any events that have been
- 20:29quite significant in my life, and you know, the wars
- 20:35and those times of you know, hardships were definitely one
- 20:39of the most significant times of my life and my
- 20:43career where I experienced what it feels like to literally
- 20:48have ten dollars.
- 20:51Speaker 2: At home in the apartment with you know, for my
- 20:54father and my mother with.
- 20:55Speaker 1: Three children to feed, and having to wait in the
- 20:59line to get a piece of bread for hours, and
- 21:04not being able to travel around the world to play tennis,
- 21:07and tennis is his expensive sport. Absolutely, you know, you
- 21:12need money to pay for the recket, for the tennis balls,
- 21:14for the coach, for the court, so all of these things,
- 21:18you know, and and they I think in the end
- 21:21of the day, As I said, it brings it brings
- 21:25light and value to my life because you know, I
- 21:29think going through all of that has made me stronger
- 21:33but at the same time made me more grateful because
- 21:38I understand the both extremes, so to say, because today
- 21:41I really I enjoy so much of you know, success
- 21:48in this you know, society and sport, and I can
- 21:52afford many things, and I'm really really grateful for that
- 21:55and blessed.
- 21:56Speaker 2: But I've been on the the opposite side.
- 21:58Speaker 1: So I think that that storyline is really something that
- 22:03enriches me.
- 22:04Speaker 3: Absolutely, man, and your life story is such a beautiful
- 22:06message of the world. It's a great message to the world.
- 22:08Like it's incredible, and I'm glad that I see when
- 22:12from the way I view it, you live it like
- 22:14a message too. It's not about you. That's why I
- 22:17feel when I'm with you that it's not about you.
- 22:19It's not like I did this. It's actually a story
- 22:22and a message to the world that you know, any child,
- 22:24any person who is in such abject conditions can actually
- 22:29transform their lives.
- 22:31Speaker 1: Thank you, thank you, And I just feel like, you know,
- 22:34the message I can share from my experience and I
- 22:37don't want ever for people to feel that I'm preaching
- 22:40or anything like that. I just feel like my experience
- 22:42has helped me to reach you know, certain success if
- 22:47you want to call it, you know, in both professional
- 22:51and private way, is that there is always time for everything.
- 22:57And you know, I've I've learned myself even today, how
- 23:01to be patient, how to how to you know, coordinate
- 23:05certain things in my life, how.
- 23:07Speaker 2: To create space for the biggest.
- 23:11Speaker 1: Quality time that I can have with my priorities, which
- 23:15are my family, which is my growth.
- 23:18Speaker 2: And it's and it's a constant juggle, and then you can't,
- 23:21you can't.
- 23:21Speaker 1: I truly believe in balance, but I don't believe that
- 23:26we can ever reach a stage and or point where
- 23:29we can say I'm in balance and you can be
- 23:32in balanced, but the next moment you're not in balance,
- 23:34because that's life and everything is moving and it's happening.
- 23:38So so that's that's why I feel like and through tennis,
- 23:42I've learned my you know, biggest and hardest lessons in
- 23:45life and I've experienced those those emotions and for me,
- 23:49you know, tennis court is still a field, you know,
- 23:55where where I have a chance to grow really and
- 23:58I I when I'm not on a tennis court, I
- 24:01find it much easier to accomplish certain things that that
- 24:07I want to on a daily basis. But then tennis
- 24:10court I use as exactly that platform that challenges me
- 24:14and challenges my ego. So I still have, for example,
- 24:17outbursts on the court. I break a record, I scream,
- 24:20I curse. I know you don't curse it. I add
- 24:23that amazing that you to that vow. You've got to
- 24:26teach me how to do that, and and and and
- 24:30so when that happens, instantly I feel like, oh my god,
- 24:33why what did I do?
- 24:35Speaker 2: You know? And I have two children. You know, many
- 24:39children around the.
- 24:40Speaker 1: World are watching and and and and you know, seeing
- 24:43what you're doing and imitating you in a way.
- 24:46Speaker 2: So you're sending that kind of message.
- 24:47Speaker 1: So I try always to have that in back on
- 24:49my mind, and you know, subconsciously like, okay, you know,
- 24:54try to do you know, what you do best, but
- 24:56do it with dignity, do it with style, do it,
- 24:58you know, with always having you know, that kind of
- 25:02inner voice telling you you know, there's thousands, you know
- 25:07of children around the world watching you play right now,
- 25:10and absorbing like a sponge. Every move, everything you say,
- 25:14everything you do. But it's I still do it. I
- 25:18still go through this outburst. And I I've felt disappointed
- 25:24with myself for a while because of that. I really
- 25:27felt like I was betraying myself. I was not managing
- 25:31to h.
- 25:32Speaker 2: To do what I intended to do.
- 25:35Speaker 1: And uh and and then I learned about surrender and
- 25:39uh and then I learned about there is a time
- 25:42for everything in life, and there is a reason why
- 25:46we have to take every step of the way in
- 25:48order to reach the top of in whatever way you
- 25:52you you feel that top is for you, and uh
- 25:55and I and then I understood that you know, I
- 25:58have to accept, I have to embrace, I have to
- 26:02channel it and understand that.
- 26:05Speaker 2: You know, I still have to.
- 26:06Speaker 1: Work, and I have to work all the way to
- 26:08the last day that I that I breathe and and
- 26:11and I'm happy with that. I really feel like I
- 26:14managed to take that positive leap in that direction.
- 26:19Speaker 3: What you you've touched on a few times, then I
- 26:21want to dive into it deeply. You mentioned success reaching
- 26:24the top. The world sees your success, the world sees
- 26:29your achievements. But in Novak Jocovits eyes. In your own eyes,
- 26:33what's been your greatest success, your greatest achievement so far
- 26:37in your perspective.
- 26:38Speaker 2: It's a good question. My greatest achievement is my open mind.
- 26:45Speaker 1: I feel that with an open MINDNUS type of you know,
- 26:53perspective and approach to life, you help all the natural
- 27:00processes in yourself to flourish and to excel. And you're
- 27:07embracing the natural flow of life where you have to
- 27:10evolve and you have to develop, and you have to learn.
- 27:13And I just, if I have to define it that
- 27:15kind of shortly, I would say it's it's just open mind,
- 27:19because I feel the ignorance and the closed mindness and
- 27:26certain convictions that people have are so strong that you know,
- 27:33you go through throughout your whole lifetime without really allowing
- 27:38you know yourself to open up to the world and
- 27:42learn about all these different cultures and things that can
- 27:46enrich your life and make you feel more fulfilled and
- 27:51live a more fulfilled life, be more joyful, have that
- 27:57inner peace and emotional balance and stability that we all
- 28:00strive to and and I just feel with an open mind,
- 28:04you're just helping yourself and you're able to receive a
- 28:09kind of filter and then you know, give at the
- 28:12same time, because you know the Torus field, everything has
- 28:15to flow, so that's how it flows. But if you
- 28:17don't have an open mind, then obviously you're everything closes up,
- 28:23whether it's health, whether it's you know, profession, whatever it
- 28:27is in your life, it just kind of feels. And
- 28:29I was there, I was there. I don't want people
- 28:32to think that I know it all or whatever. I
- 28:35just feel, you know, also that I'm sharing the experiences
- 28:39for my process because I was there. As I said,
- 28:40I felt, you know, the resentment, I felt, you know,
- 28:43feeling of revenge.
- 28:45Speaker 2: I felt hatred, I did, I felt all of that.
- 28:48Speaker 1: We all, you know, go through that, We all human beings,
- 28:51we you know kind of you know, experience those kind
- 28:54of emotions. But I feel with training and repetition and
- 28:59discipline that obviously sport has taught me so well, you
- 29:03can really reach anything that you truly want in desire
- 29:08in your life.
- 29:09Speaker 3: And where did that open mindedness start? Like, where did
- 29:12you start to notice that the closed mind was limiting
- 29:15you and the open mind was expanding?
- 29:18Speaker 1: Very early, to be honest, ever since I kind of
- 29:24wished to play tennis when I was four or five
- 29:27years old, and tennis was never a sport in our family.
- 29:32I think, you know, I kind of help also my
- 29:34parents to expand, you know, outside of their in a
- 29:38way comfort zone and go into the sport or field
- 29:40of life that is completely unknown to them in a way.
- 29:44And I think that, you know, I started playing tennis
- 29:48with four and a half, I think, five years old,
- 29:50and before that I was I was skiing a lot.
- 29:53And I remember even before I started to run, I
- 29:58was already with my dad, you know, skiing. He was
- 30:01carrying me and going down the slopes and and so
- 30:04the first sport for me was skiing. And until I
- 30:07was I think nine years old, I didn't really know
- 30:10whether I want.
- 30:11Speaker 2: To ski or play tennis.
- 30:13Speaker 1: I was football soccer a little bit there, but it
- 30:16was mostly about skiing or tennis. And uh and unfortunately,
- 30:20I mean, we've been through all this and my father,
- 30:22my father asked me, I remember, I remember that that
- 30:25day when he set me down with my mom and
- 30:29he said, I am ready to support anything that you
- 30:34desire to do in your life, and I'm here for you.
- 30:40You have to tell me if it's sport, Okay, and
- 30:44what sport and uh, and I said, okay, give me
- 30:49one day.
- 30:50Speaker 2: I needed to know and big decision.
- 30:53Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, and then you get was taking and
- 30:56then I said, like, it didn't take me a long time.
- 30:58I thought, I said, maybe just a little time to things.
- 31:01But then after half an hour I went to him
- 31:03and I said, it's tennis and he said, okay.
- 31:06Speaker 2: Tennis it is.
- 31:07Speaker 1: And then I think us kind of getting into this
- 31:13uncomfortable unknown zone or area or field of life has
- 31:20allowed us to kind of expand all of us and
- 31:23also having certain mentors and people that have greatly positively
- 31:30affected me on many levels. I've mentioned my tennis mother
- 31:35as I like to call her, and I've met her
- 31:38when I was I think five six years old, and
- 31:40then I started training with her tennis camp, summer tennis
- 31:44camp that was coming from Belgrade from capital city to
- 31:48Coponi displace in the mountains. And then when I was
- 31:52I think six seven, I also started having some private
- 31:56lessons with her in Belgrade while I was going to school,
- 32:00and she was happy to play with me because she
- 32:03felt like I was very talented. And then she told
- 32:07she told my parents, she said, I really feel like
- 32:11you should try to give your best to support this
- 32:13child to play tennis, because I've never seen a bigger talent.
- 32:18Speaker 2: Than him.
- 32:19Speaker 1: From Monica Sellers, who was, you know, obviously the best
- 32:22tennis player in the world, one of the best female
- 32:24tennis players of all times, and she was her coach
- 32:27as well. And because Monica was born in Serbia and
- 32:30then she went to live in States where she is today, and.
- 32:35Speaker 2: Of course my parents were like, well, if.
- 32:39Speaker 1: Such an experience and knowledgeable person about the tennis says that,
- 32:43then you know, we should try to support our child.
- 32:46So that's what happened. And I remember I was watching,
- 32:49you know, tennis practices and sessions on the fence, I
- 32:52was climbing. I was really really in love with the sport.
- 32:54I was very passionate about it. And she taught me
- 32:58about holistic approach to life. I think we already back
- 33:01then when I was seven eight. She really told me
- 33:03how to, you know, think about the grades in the school,
- 33:08the music that I listened to, the mindfulness that I have,
- 33:13the observation, the focus, the kindness, the relationship with people.
- 33:18Speaker 2: She was working in a team with my parents and
- 33:21my parents.
- 33:23Speaker 1: You know, I'm really grateful for my parents because they
- 33:25recognized the role of a mentor very early.
- 33:28Speaker 2: So they kind of teamed up with her.
- 33:30Speaker 1: And then you know, I was learning a lot from
- 33:33from my parents obviously and continue to learn and from
- 33:37my tennis mother. So that has helped me to I
- 33:40feel like, be open minded and understand. But I obviously
- 33:46went through my phases and you know, through through the
- 33:48process of learning and those dealing with those emotions. Although
- 33:53I felt when I started traveling by myself, because I
- 33:56was traveling with my father until I was I think sixteen,
- 33:59and then six seventeen, I started having my coach and
- 34:02and and I you know, I didn't get too deep
- 34:06in the conversations with my dad and with my mom,
- 34:08and I felt there are some subjects and that you know,
- 34:13I want to talk about.
- 34:15Speaker 2: And especially in.
- 34:16Speaker 1: You know, puberty and teenage years, you know, you're you're
- 34:19experiencing so many changes and and and I was so
- 34:23much in tennis that I didn't really have time for
- 34:25for other maybe school activities that my fellow friends and
- 34:32you know, students were going through because I was so
- 34:35much in tennis.
- 34:36Speaker 2: And and then.
- 34:37Speaker 1: I started sharing so much with with my coach. I
- 34:41think that I remember my dad was like, why don't
- 34:44you share that with me? It's like, because I don't.
- 34:48I don't feel that. I first of all, I've never
- 34:51shared that those particular subjects and types of conversations with you,
- 34:56and I don't. I don't feel we can we can
- 35:00on that level, and we tried, but it never worked out.
- 35:04So but he was understanding and that I also have
- 35:08to have, you know, people that are close to me
- 35:11and then influenced me on different levels, and that's what
- 35:14I feel like.
- 35:15Speaker 2: It helped me a lot to develop well.
- 35:18Speaker 3: And one of the things I noticed about you is
- 35:20also and I'd love to get your thoughts on this.
- 35:22I feel like it's tough to get to the top,
- 35:25but it seems to be even tougher to get to
- 35:27the top, have a slump or have a moment of
- 35:30challenge and then try and get back because you've experienced something.
- 35:35And it's like, I know that you've even credited your
- 35:37wife with her dedication to self care and your work
- 35:42and what she's trained you or shared with you in journaling.
- 35:45Tell us a bit about the process that you've taken
- 35:49to be at the top, have challenges and then still
- 35:51come back. Because everyone's been quoting obviously having the impossible
- 35:53come back, but you made it possible. What was happening
- 35:57mentally spiritually for you, not just physically, but what was
- 36:00happening mentally and spiritually.
- 36:02Speaker 1: For you, Well, first of all, to reflect on the
- 36:04impossible word in the world you have, I am possible, right,
- 36:09So I truly I don't believe in and you know
- 36:13something is impossible. I believe really everything is possible. As
- 36:16we talked about it earlier, my wife has been you know,
- 36:21my girlfriend for a long time, ever since I was eighteen,
- 36:25she was nineteen. That's that's when we started dating. And
- 36:30she used to play tennis and that's how we met.
- 36:33And we've known each other four or five years before
- 36:35we started dating, you know, through tennis. And then she
- 36:40went to study in Italy in Milan, and I came
- 36:44at more or less the same time here in Monaco
- 36:48to follow my coach at the time, and I started
- 36:51using Monaco as a base and she came over. Milani
- 36:55is close to Monaco, so she came over and that's
- 36:57how it all started. And when she finished studies, she's obviously,
- 37:02you know, thinking she had a lot of opportunities for
- 37:05her own career, but she sacrificed that in order to
- 37:08live my career, live my dream, in order to save
- 37:11the relationship in a way.
- 37:12Speaker 2: So I'm very grateful.
- 37:13Speaker 1: For for her and what she has you know, done
- 37:18for our relationship and for me. And I learned, I
- 37:22keep on continue to learn from her so much. She
- 37:26introduced me to yoga actually back back in the days
- 37:30when she was studying.
- 37:32Speaker 2: And she is a huge reader.
- 37:35Speaker 1: She likes to read everything and anything, and she you know,
- 37:40likes to write as well, and she was being big
- 37:44on journaling all the time. And I remember when I
- 37:46was quite young, from my tennis mother and for my parents,
- 37:49I learned how to kind of write and have specific
- 37:54things that I want to share on the paper. I
- 37:56did it, you know, kind of like what I'm grateful
- 37:58for and things like that, which was nice.
- 38:00Speaker 2: But then I lost that.
- 38:02Speaker 1: I didn't do it for many years, and then she
- 38:05reminded me of that, so I started doing it again
- 38:08and and and it felt great because I felt like
- 38:12I could release a lot of things that were tensing
- 38:16me up.
- 38:16Speaker 2: Through exactly but also through yoga. You know, she learned
- 38:21about it. She because she was so stressed during her
- 38:24you know, studies.
- 38:27Speaker 1: She spent the whole day obviously, starting with books, and
- 38:29you know, student life isn't easy, so she was looking
- 38:32into ways how she can relax herself get more energy,
- 38:35and you know, she was she was not drinking coffee
- 38:38or any of these things. So she came into yoga
- 38:40and she was sharing it with me. So I started
- 38:42doing it with her, you know, the whole the breathing pranayama,
- 38:46the you know, the the sun salutations and everything and
- 38:49and that. Ever since then, we've been doing obviously some
- 38:51form of yoga, you know, try on a daily basis.
- 38:55Speaker 2: And and you know, she she's been a very.
- 39:00Speaker 1: Very significant integral part of my life and my evolution.
- 39:05Speaker 2: And what I'm.
- 39:05Speaker 1: Really grateful for is that not only that we you know,
- 39:10truly love each other and we are very transparent and honest,
- 39:14but also that we have helped from the universe to
- 39:18actually be in a very similar state of consciousness in
- 39:22certain phases of our lives, so we can help each
- 39:25other learn better and grow faster in certain areas.
- 39:31Speaker 2: That we choose.
- 39:32Speaker 1: That are you know, you know, part of those particular periods.
- 39:36So I think she would agree that when we became
- 39:40parents four years ago that has completely shifted our world,
- 39:47you know, upside down. Up to that moment, we were
- 39:50also spiritual, but you know, still quite basic comparing to
- 39:55what has happened after that. And we truly believe that
- 39:59our kids are our masters and our teachers, and then
- 40:03they come to this life to bring bring lessons for
- 40:09us and bring help for us to understand a lot
- 40:13of things about ourselves and the deeper levels and what
- 40:16we have to work on, which is quite contrary to
- 40:19what you know in a way society things, which is
- 40:23we are teaching them, which we are, of course, but
- 40:27you know, actually I've been talking with her a lot
- 40:31about that.
- 40:32Speaker 2: And now we have a baby girl that is.
- 40:34Speaker 1: One year old and she I was mentioning, she's a healer,
- 40:38she really is, and she brings that kind of energy.
- 40:40Speaker 2: To this world and she has, i mean sky.
- 40:45Speaker 1: Rocketed our attention for the moments for you know, the consciousness,
- 40:49the awareness about everything, I mean even more, and we're like,
- 40:53oh my god, you know, there's another level. There's another level.
- 40:57So we you know, we help each other grow and
- 40:59I think we it's it's I'm really grateful that I
- 41:01can share with her literally everything and anything that I'm
- 41:05interested in that I'm going through. And you know, she
- 41:10she has been always the shoulder to to lean on,
- 41:13and she has always been there and tough moments for
- 41:17me in my career when I was, you know, going
- 41:19through an injury recently and I had to take six
- 41:22months break down to tennis, and and then when I
- 41:24came back, I was like questioning whether I should keep
- 41:27on playing on that level or not. And I was
- 41:30just going through, you know, just going through hard work
- 41:33inside and and then she, you know, she was there
- 41:36and she helped me to overcome all of that, of course,
- 41:39with alongside with help of some life spiritual teachers that
- 41:44I have that I can tell you a little bit, well,
- 41:49there are two guys in particular, Jose Pepe mas and
- 41:53and jar Quilch. Jose Pepe is from from Spain and
- 41:58Jarque is from from and I consider them really as
- 42:03my spiritual and life teachers, my masters that I've learned
- 42:08a lot from.
- 42:09Speaker 2: And back in I think twousand.
- 42:11Speaker 1: And ten or eleven, i've met Jarco so about seven
- 42:16eight years ago, and I met him through my wife
- 42:20actually because my wife had a friend that knew him,
- 42:23and that's.
- 42:24Speaker 2: How we got into it.
- 42:25Speaker 1: He's a ray Ki healer, but he's much more than that.
- 42:29And you know, he helped a lot both my wife
- 42:33and I to again open our mind even more to
- 42:38understand how we can have internal conversations with ourselves because
- 42:43I didn't know how to do it. I didn't know
- 42:44how to verbalize my emotions. And that's where my wife
- 42:48was ahead of me, and that's where we struggled in
- 42:52our relationship because she was trying to dig things out
- 42:55from me and make me share more. But I wasn't
- 42:59able to do that because.
- 43:00Speaker 2: I didn't know how.
- 43:01Speaker 1: She's like, speak to me, what do you feel? I'm like,
- 43:05I don't know, I feel something. I just don't and
- 43:08and and so I think Jacques was was very helpful
- 43:12in that and and and it.
- 43:14Speaker 3: Sounds like everyone needs that.
- 43:16Speaker 2: Everyone. Yeah, I mean everyone needs that, of course.
- 43:19Speaker 1: But I think you know there's this great saying, you know,
- 43:23when the when, when the student is ready, the teacher
- 43:25will come right. So I felt that the first initial
- 43:30step I needed to do, I needed to decide in
- 43:34my mind internally that Okay, this is exactly what I
- 43:37need from my heart, for my soul, for my for
- 43:40my growth.
- 43:41Speaker 2: This is the priority.
- 43:43Speaker 1: I have to learn how to manage myself, my emotions,
- 43:47how to not just to be a better tennis player,
- 43:50but to be a better human being. And and so
- 43:54so then the teacher appeared, obviously, and and then after that,
- 43:58obviously I I started to expand my my awareness and
- 44:02and you know, observation of the world. And then I
- 44:06run into Pepe, who is very close person and and
- 44:10also a spiritual life teacher to my brother Marco, and
- 44:13they live in the same place. Actually, Marco, my brother,
- 44:16went to live in Spain because of Pepper and Pepe's
- 44:19whole philosophy of life is love and peace and and uh.
- 44:26He brought that kind of energy into our lives, the
- 44:31perception of love and peace what it really means.
- 44:34Speaker 2: And at the beginning, I was actually not really.
- 44:41Speaker 1: Supportive, I must say, of my brother, because he started
- 44:44doing that before me. He started going through this whole
- 44:46process of learning with with Pepe, and he moved to
- 44:50Spain so he can be closer to him because he felt,
- 44:53you know, deep inside it that something is very important
- 44:55that he has to address.
- 44:57Speaker 4: Uh.
- 44:57Speaker 1: And I just I didn't get it at the time.
- 45:00I thought, well, you know, you have to because he
- 45:01was playing professional tennis, and I was like, you can't really,
- 45:04you know, just love in peace. You know, you have
- 45:06to kind of like go back and train and this this,
- 45:09I said, if you're loving peace on the court, the
- 45:11other guy will beat you. And this is what it
- 45:13comes down to, you know, and in sports. And he
- 45:16was like, listen, He's like, I understand, but I trust me.
- 45:20I have to go through this, and I just feel
- 45:22that this is my growth.
- 45:24Speaker 2: I did. I didn't understand that at the time.
- 45:26Speaker 1: And then I but I was attracted to because I
- 45:28felt that his energy was amazing and you can never
- 45:31get upset with him, you know, you speak to him,
- 45:33he's like you you know, he always smiles and everything,
- 45:36you know, even when we had tough conversations, he always
- 45:39smiles and sends it because he always prays inside and
- 45:43sends your love. And for that, he had to work
- 45:46and still continues to work, I mean immensely. And I
- 45:50didn't understand what he kept on emphasizing inner work, inner growth,
- 45:55inner work, inner growth, universal love.
- 45:57Speaker 2: I really didn't really get it, you know.
- 46:01Speaker 1: And then and then then obviously, uh, this whole energy
- 46:06attracted my wife and I and and we connected with
- 46:09Pepe and with my brother and on different levels, and
- 46:12and today you know, obviously we understand, you know what
- 46:16what he truly, what he truly means, because we embraced
- 46:20that work and we have to do it daily.
- 46:23Speaker 2: And I just wanted to shortly reflect on that inner
- 46:26work for the purpose or goal.
- 46:30Speaker 1: My goal for the inner work up to not a
- 46:33while ago was tennis and that and and I the
- 46:39feeling inside you can call it ego, whatever has drawn
- 46:44me to that sensation of I need to do this
- 46:48because that will help me play better tennis.
- 46:51Speaker 2: But it didn't resonate something.
- 46:54Speaker 1: I was living a successful life but not fulfilled, if
- 46:57you know what I mean.
- 46:59Speaker 2: And and there was something wrong with that. I just felt,
- 47:03I felt the.
- 47:04Speaker 1: Answers of that truth and the essence and what it
- 47:07really means to do that on a daily basis for
- 47:10yourself and your growth as a human being and not
- 47:14just as a tennis player or a doctor or whatever.
- 47:17Speaker 2: But I it wasn't.
- 47:18Speaker 1: It was weak comparing to the other side, which was
- 47:22since I was seven, I'm going I dreamed of being
- 47:26number one of the world.
- 47:27Speaker 2: That's my ambition, that's my lifetime goal. I have to
- 47:29fulfill it. When I fulfilled it in twenty eleven. I
- 47:33kept on going.
- 47:34Speaker 1: I just I want to be more Grand Slam. I
- 47:36have more Grand Slam trophies. I want to be number
- 47:39one for as long as I can. It just kept going,
- 47:41and I believe that from my experience.
- 47:44Speaker 2: You need goals and objectives, you know.
- 47:46Speaker 1: And.
- 47:48Speaker 2: But you need to balance that with you know, what.
- 47:53Speaker 1: Is truly the most important work, which is the inner work. Yes,
- 47:57and and I didn't get it up up to non
- 48:00while ago, to be honest, And that's when I start
- 48:03to get it.
- 48:03Speaker 2: And that's when I start to understand the message from Pepper.
- 48:06Speaker 1: He was, whatever you do, you do it with excitement,
- 48:11with joy, with passion, but at the same time, never
- 48:16forget about what you have to do before, during, and
- 48:20after that, which is a much much bigger work and
- 48:23longer work.
- 48:24Speaker 2: And now I do truly understand that.
- 48:27Speaker 3: Give us give us an So for anyone who's listening
- 48:29and they're like no, I'm like you, I don't get it. Yeah, yeah,
- 48:32you know because so many people today, I feel like spirituality, energy,
- 48:35all of these words are flying around the internet. People
- 48:38are talking about it, but there's so many people that
- 48:40don't get it. Explain to us in your own way,
- 48:42in the way you see it. What is in a
- 48:45work and what in a work you do? What you
- 48:47were saying that before that, during that after that has
- 48:50helped you, not just in tennis, but you've.
- 48:52Speaker 1: Talked so and reflected so wonderfully on this and so
- 48:56many of your videos about the habits about addiction that
- 49:00we have.
- 49:00Speaker 2: The whole day passes by.
- 49:02Speaker 1: We don't even remember a single moment in the day
- 49:06because we've just been distracted.
- 49:09Speaker 2: The whole time.
- 49:10Speaker 1: So you know, if we are learned and trained to
- 49:13be distracted, that's how you know our life is going
- 49:16to unfold.
- 49:17Speaker 2: We are going to be distracted.
- 49:19Speaker 1: But if we train ourselves to be present and more aware,
- 49:24then obviously we're shipped the attention of the subconscious and
- 49:27all the internal external energies and nature and everything into that,
- 49:32you know, in a simplified way.
- 49:34Speaker 2: Work on the habits, right, I mean, I have you know,
- 49:37still some habits that need working on, you know, and
- 49:41and you know it.
- 49:43Speaker 1: You know, for example, the phone, right that that is
- 49:46so addictive and you get into.
- 49:47Speaker 2: Instagram that I by the way, love that's great, fantastic, It's.
- 49:52Speaker 3: How we can tell.
- 49:54Speaker 1: But but if you let it become your master then,
- 50:00and that's how it's going to be. And you're going
- 50:02to be distracted, You're going to feel lack of energy,
- 50:05You're going to feel lack of inner peace, You're going
- 50:07to feel upset. You know, you're going to have a
- 50:11short breath. You know, all these different things. And that
- 50:14reflects on relationships, That reflects on you know, your performance
- 50:19at your work or whatever you're doing. And and for me,
- 50:23I try to okay, try to think inside, Okay, what
- 50:27am I doing right on the tennis court?
- 50:30Speaker 2: How can I translate that? And off the tennis court?
- 50:33Speaker 1: Interesting and the own tennis court, what I'm doing right
- 50:37is complete one hundred percent focus and presence of mind
- 50:42and body and everything, discipline, working towards objective or organized
- 50:51preparing myself.
- 50:52Speaker 2: This is a big thing I feel.
- 50:54Speaker 1: You know, if you fail to prepare, you prepare yourself
- 50:57to fail, right, So preparation is a huge thing.
- 51:00Speaker 2: I mean, at least in my world. For tennis, it
- 51:04has helped me a lot because.
- 51:07Speaker 1: I don't want to put a number on it, but
- 51:09let's say eighty percent to a ninety percent of the
- 51:13match that you want for example, or any success.
- 51:15Speaker 2: That you have exactly exactly.
- 51:18Speaker 1: How you do your homework for you know, in my instance,
- 51:23you know, obviously working on all my strengths and weaknesses,
- 51:30preparing myself physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually.
- 51:34Speaker 2: For the match that is coming up. I have the
- 51:38whole short term and long term plan.
- 51:40Speaker 1: How can I get from from here to there in
- 51:44the shortest time, those types of things. And then you know,
- 51:49obviously doing your homework on the guy, on the opponent
- 51:51that you're playing against, where you're going to play, the stadium,
- 51:54the crowd, the weather. You know, it's it's really whole
- 52:01homework that you have to do in order before you
- 52:03get in and then you win a tennis match, and
- 52:06then it's not only about the tennis match.
- 52:08Speaker 2: It's eighty ninety percent of the work that you do
- 52:10prior to that.
- 52:11Speaker 1: So that's why I believe, you know, preparation is a big,
- 52:14big thing. Working on the habits. You know, the science
- 52:19says that you need twenty what two or three days
- 52:21that you can you know, shift you know, from bad
- 52:24habit to a healthy habit.
- 52:26Speaker 2: So we need.
- 52:26Speaker 1: Persistency, we need discipline, you know, we need we need
- 52:29repetition and Bruce Lifton that I also like to listen
- 52:33to a lot. He was talking about subconscious, right, and
- 52:36how subconscious is controlling probably ninety ninety five percent of
- 52:40our everyday life. So if we can feed our subconscious
- 52:44with the information that is going to allow us to
- 52:48excel and to live life that we want to, then
- 52:51that's what's going to happen. Because your subconscious doesn't know
- 52:54what's good for you or bad for you.
- 52:56Speaker 2: It just knows what you tell them, yes, and the
- 52:59seeds that you planned.
- 53:01Speaker 1: So so he was talking about, you know, there are
- 53:05two ways to kind of hack your subconscious, which is hypnosis,
- 53:10which happens from you know, until you know you're seven
- 53:14years old, and then repetition. So that's why, I mean,
- 53:20my wife and I are very passionate for the preschool
- 53:24education and early childhood development. Until you're six or seven
- 53:29years old, that's when its most vast brain growth, and
- 53:32that's where you know, the fundamentals and the foundation of your.
- 53:37Speaker 2: Life is set.
- 53:39Speaker 1: And and that's where you know, Bruce was talking about
- 53:42it really beautifully and it made sense. And then after
- 53:48your seven it's repetition. It's discipline. Okay, I'm switching off
- 53:54all my phones after a certain hour, I'm you know,
- 53:59doing my praying work because I believe in the invisible world.
- 54:04The science proves quantum science talks about it where the
- 54:08most distance points are actually one in in a split second,
- 54:13and and we all have proven that, and so you
- 54:18just need to really believe it in order to achieve it.
- 54:21And you know where your attention, you know where your
- 54:24tension goes, the energy flows, and I think it all
- 54:28starts with open mind, and you have to I think
- 54:30with a question. It's always so great to ask yourself questions.
- 54:35Who am I, why I'm here? What I want to do,
- 54:37what I want to become? What I you know, just
- 54:40all these questions put on the paper, write it down,
- 54:43go through you know, in your mind, through that whatever
- 54:45your method is.
- 54:47Speaker 2: But you just have to address it.
- 54:49Speaker 1: If you don't address it, you're going to go about
- 54:51the same things that you went about, and then you're
- 54:53going to get the same outcome that you don't desire.
- 54:56So I feel like that kind of awareness about that
- 55:02just helps, you know, helps learn.
- 55:05Speaker 2: And you know, I'm learning from you so.
- 55:06Speaker 1: Much on a daily basis as well, because you know,
- 55:09I obviously follow your work and and there's so many
- 55:12great messages out there, and I feel like this is
- 55:15the time where we can expand our consciousness and get
- 55:18closer to who we are because, you know, the two
- 55:21most important on all these provate questions on this planet
- 55:24ever since the existence of humans is you.
- 55:27Speaker 2: Know who we are and why we are here?
- 55:29Speaker 1: Absolutely so I think also the truth seeking element and
- 55:33part is also quite important in that.
- 55:36Speaker 2: I mean, I consider myself a truth seeker.
- 55:38Speaker 1: I like to, you know, try to dig even deeper
- 55:42and deeper and deeper and understand who we are.
- 55:44Speaker 2: You know, why are we here? Is this a planet?
- 55:47Is this a realm? What is it? You know? Is
- 55:49this a matrix?
- 55:50Speaker 3: Is it not?
- 55:51Speaker 1: You know, I think it's it's important to ask us
- 55:54these questions and get do your research and dig deep
- 55:57into that because other you know, I think it all
- 56:00comes down to, you know, whether you are your own
- 56:03master or or not. So I think if you are
- 56:08your own master, then it allows you to take actions the.
- 56:12Speaker 2: Way you want them rather than you know.
- 56:14Speaker 1: I love the Jim Quick that I also like very much,
- 56:17and he he talks about.
- 56:21Speaker 2: The thermostat and thermometer. So don't be the terministat, but
- 56:26be the thermometer.
- 56:27Speaker 1: Set your the temperature set you you set the temperature
- 56:30of the room, and you set it up the way
- 56:32you wanted it and the thermostat if you set it,
- 56:35then you have to adjust so it's reactive. And I
- 56:39think it's such a such a great wisdom.
- 56:41Speaker 3: Yeah, great advice, man. I loved what you were saying earlier.
- 56:44That's that's great advice. And I hope everyone's listening is
- 56:46is taking notes. But that what you said earlier, I
- 56:49loved you said that for a long time you believed
- 56:51ego is the enemy. Yes, and then now you've started
- 56:54to understand that actually the ego has to be befriended. Yes,
- 56:57And I thought that was I couldn't agree with you more,
- 57:00agree with you more. Sometimes I believe the ego is
- 57:02like a perfect mirror to yourself in the self that
- 57:04you don't want, but at least it starts teaching you.
- 57:07The ego can teach you so much if you're aware
- 57:09of it. So I want to hear your perception on
- 57:12how you've been switching between egos the enemy to actually
- 57:14befriending the ego. Well, this is you've got every reason
- 57:18to have a big egea. You've got every reason and
- 57:20you're not. You're a very humble person. But you've got
- 57:23every reason.
- 57:23Speaker 2: And I do have it, and I do have it,
- 57:25and this is the this is the point.
- 57:26Speaker 1: I didn't understand it at the time, and we talked
- 57:28about it a little bit, and as you reflected, I
- 57:31do have a big ego, but I have to embrace
- 57:36it and and learn how to befriend it and deal
- 57:39with it in the ways that that I'm to work,
- 57:43going to work and team up with my ego rather
- 57:45than I'm going to be an enemy of my ego,
- 57:47because then again I'm reacting. Then ego can you know,
- 57:53persuade you and do different things and mask.
- 57:57Speaker 2: You know certain things, is so smart and witty, and
- 58:00then you have to react. And then you have to
- 58:02just kind.
- 58:02Speaker 1: Of like try to try to handle and juggle with
- 58:06so many things instead of hey, let's team up. You're
- 58:09inside of me, I'm you, you're me, Okay, let's figure
- 58:13this out. How can we work together? And you kind
- 58:17of have to, you know, please it, and at the
- 58:19same time you have to control it. And even though
- 58:23I don't really like the word word control, I still
- 58:26feel like, you know, if you if you create your
- 58:31controlled environment, it's gonna be better off for you in
- 58:34your life.
- 58:34Speaker 3: Yeah, I've got so what I when I finish off
- 58:37with every interview is called my final five. So the
- 58:39five the fast five. So these are fast five questions
- 58:42if you answer.
- 58:43Speaker 2: So.
- 58:44Speaker 3: The first question I was going to answer is what's
- 58:46the first thing that you do every morning?
- 58:48Speaker 2: First thing that I do every morning is prayer.
- 58:51Speaker 3: Beautiful, second question, what do you pray for?
- 58:54Speaker 2: First?
- 58:54Speaker 1: I express my gratitude for my body, for myself, for
- 59:01the opportunity to continue my evolution as a multi dimensional
- 59:06being in this realm. I'm grateful for my family. I'm
- 59:11grateful for being able to have my senses and to
- 59:16have big bed, and to have the most beautiful sunrise
- 59:20every morning.
- 59:21Speaker 3: It's amazing. How do you make sure that your energy
- 59:24is where you want it to be spiritually?
- 59:26Speaker 1: Internally continuing to work on the things that we talked about.
- 59:35Speaker 2: So aside of the physical work and tennis.
- 59:39Speaker 1: And duties as a father and a husband, I need
- 59:44to get in daily something and my self care work.
- 59:50Whether it's only a meditation or it's a two minute
- 59:53breathing prayer, whatever it is. Sometimes it's only that because
- 59:57you don't have time but you know it's important to
- 1:00:01just kind of, you know, keep keep doing it and
- 1:00:04be disciplined with it.
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: What's the best advice you've ever received?
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: Be open minded.
- 1:00:14Speaker 3: I love that theme. That's the theme of this for sure.
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: It's when you're open minded, then you're ready to receive
- 1:00:23everything that we're surrounded with and in such a beautiful world,
- 1:00:26and we're so blessed that we live in this world
- 1:00:30and that we go.
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: Through the process of evolution.
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: And I think when you come close to the realization
- 1:00:36of you know who you are, I think and you
- 1:00:39continue to seek for that truth, I just it brings
- 1:00:43you closer to the source from where you arrived and
- 1:00:46just makes you makes you so present, and it makes
- 1:00:50you so calm, and it makes you so joyful and
- 1:00:53grateful for yourself, for people around you, for everything that
- 1:00:56you have, that you do that surrounds you feels.
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: You and I feel that that's the essence of our life.
- 1:01:04Speaker 3: Amazing. And the fifth question, fifth and final question is
- 1:01:07if your racket was a magic wand and you could
- 1:01:09get the whole world to understand one thing, what would
- 1:01:12you want everyone to understand.
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: That our consciousness expands infinitely.
- 1:01:23Speaker 3: Beautiful, straight to the point, what do you mean by that?
- 1:01:26What do you want to understand? Man, I'm going to
- 1:01:29give you the opportunity.
- 1:01:34Speaker 5: That our conscious expense infinitely means well, at least in
- 1:01:38my own perception, is that we are more than we
- 1:01:44think or feel with our five senses, that we really are.
- 1:01:47And when you I feel like when I came to
- 1:01:51this realization, it just opened the door to a whole
- 1:01:54different universe and dimension to me. And I feel that
- 1:01:58my evolution and my growth in every aspect of who
- 1:02:02I am and my everybody has just quadrupled from light
- 1:02:09years ahead. I just feel I feel calm at the
- 1:02:12same time, but so excited for everything that I that
- 1:02:15life has to offer that I can learn.
- 1:02:17Speaker 3: Thank you, No, that we so have to do a
- 1:02:19part too in all of that. We're gonna and yeah,
- 1:02:23thank you so much. I'm so grateful. Thank you for
- 1:02:25your time and energy, and you've got so many things
- 1:02:27on I love you giving me your amazing wife so much.
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: Infinite love to grateful.
