- 0:24[SPEAKER_00]: Some of us have been doing the same thing the same way for ever and it's time to give the brand a facelift.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_03]: It's time to give the brand a facelift.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_03]: It's time to disrupt.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_03]: your own business is time to disrupt internally so that you can come back out with a different look, a different message, a different all the things and it doesn't have to be far off from what you're already doing.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_03]: I know you feel it.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_00]: Popularity moves in waves.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_00]: So somebody that is popular right now, chances are nobody will really care about what they're doing in the next few years, but there's somebody working at Wendy's right now passing fries through the window.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_00]: That will be
- 1:06[SPEAKER_03]: So you're not really confused.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_03]: You're not really missing out on anything.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_03]: You're not losing anything.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_03]: It's not working because your brand needs a facelift.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_03]: It is time for you to switch directions.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_03]: And you're trying to hold on to that old thing.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_03]: We're not bringing the old thing into this new season.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_03]: It is time for you to admit it.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_00]: That's cool.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_03]: She's fierce.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_00]: One of my friends on the morning meet up this morning.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_00]: She said her lights were out and she's just going to stay with her ex until her lights get on.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_03]: She said her lights are out and she needs to stay there from the storm from the storm in Georgia Okay, I mean that's a good reason to have to stay with you said that all day and I was like Day.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_03]: I was like Sometimes you need to bring the old things All right now for survival now.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not suggesting that you just cut it off when you're not gonna make any money from anywhere else But no in all seriousness.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_00]: Hold her watch her butt.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_00]: You match her butt
- 1:58[SPEAKER_03]: you're struggling in your business right now.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_03]: You don't feel it and I'm like, I'm like the poster child for this.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_03]: Like for two years it's been, I just don't know.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_03]: I'm good at this thing.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_03]: I enjoy doing this thing.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_03]: There is some passion around doing this thing.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_03]: But I hear this pull.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_03]: I feel this pull.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_03]: I hear this voice that's saying.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_03]: It's time to shake things up.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_03]: It's time to disrupt your own business.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_03]: It's time to disrupt internally so that you can come back out with a different look, a different message, a different all the things.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_03]: And it doesn't have to be far off from what you're already doing.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_03]: I know you feel it.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, welcome to another episode of Social Proof Podcasts with your two favorite business coaches.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_03]: We're business coaches.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_03]: Sometimes a life coach, podcast coaches, community coaches, webinar coaches of all the things you hear me.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_03]: My name is Donnie Wiggins.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_00]: David Shands, we are here, man.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_00]: I'm excited about this conversation.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_03]: I am really excited about this conversation.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_00]: This is actually something I've been, it's a part of what I teach is like, especially even since I started selling T-shirts, like there should always be something new and exciting in your brand.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_00]: Now I think people take that information and they say I'm gonna start a new business.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_00]: And that's not it.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_00]: But I would have a t-shirt in black with white letters and when I got that same shirt in black with red letters, I made it a real big deal.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, we got the black with red.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_00]: The shots, you should always be announcing something.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_00]: I think shots are the big Dave.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_00]: He always has an announcement, always, and it keeps energy and excitement around the brand.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_00]: So some of us have been doing the same thing the same way forever, and it's time to give the brand a face list.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_03]: It's time to give the brand a face list, and I think when you start thinking about big box brands, like,
- 3:51[SPEAKER_03]: You're macy's macy's is struggling right now because they just haven't like you walk into macy's and macy's today Looks like macy's 15 years ago and if they don't do something Quickly They're gonna be one of those ones in the mall where the space is empty Right is just it's gonna turn into that next thing and so we really have to think about it in you say Well, why don't you why Dave why would I need to change my brand how do I know if I need to change things up
- 4:20[SPEAKER_03]: And we're not saying that you have to completely change the model, like Macy's doesn't have to move away from selling jewelry and shoes and clothes and accessories and all the things that they sell.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_03]: But we need to walk into the store and the store looks different.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe, you know, they used to do this thing seasonally where they'd have a DJ.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe if you kept the DJ in Macy's people want to come over to you because you guys are like the grandma and the grandfather of the fashion industry.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_03]: You got to shake things up and understand who your customer is.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_03]: Also, we can't have the clothes that's just raggedy hanging on the hangers and on the displays.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_03]: And our prices are screaming nemen markets like we just can't do this macy's we need to shake it up a little bit you need to disrupt the fashion industry you can still sell the fashions you can still sell the jewelry you can still
- 5:07[SPEAKER_03]: But who are you selling to?
- 5:08[SPEAKER_03]: What are they into, right?
- 5:10[SPEAKER_03]: How are we doing, bring some of your influencers out to be modeling down the escalator and your newest fashions that you have coming out?
- 5:17[SPEAKER_03]: Bring a DJ in, serve, serve some things, give some water, like take a heads up from what these other retailers who are still winning and doing remodel that dang on furniture in those dressing rooms, like get that carpet out of there.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_00]: Man, I think every company needs to re-brand every few years.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_00]: You know who did this perfectly McDonald's?
- 5:38[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_00]: There was a time where McDonald's was like, fun house and you got the kids slides and things that I made sure, but they saw what was happening.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_00]: And the world, they went to restaurant model.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_00]: They changed everything to where you walk in and it feels like a restaurant versus just some place you get burgers and fries.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_00]: But because the world constantly changes, you have to constantly change.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, with our podcast,
- 6:05[SPEAKER_00]: when we started there was a handful of people that were doing podcasting in that way you know what i mean there wasn't a whole lot i'm not saying we're the first to interview entrepreneurs at the first to get on here and talk about entrepreneurs if i'm not saying that by any stretch of imagination however there wasn't that many options so
- 6:24[SPEAKER_00]: What I saw was, oh, there's more people in the space which means we have to do more.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_00]: We went on tour because, okay, now there's more people with podcasts and many people with tour.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_00]: Let's go on tour.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_00]: We started doing dinners.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_00]: We started doing all kinds of stuff.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_03]: I have studio audience.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_00]: 100% of them.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_03]: I miss that so much.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_03]: We used to do the live studio audiences.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_03]: So, about a week ago, I went to Dave and I said, social proof needs a facelift.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_03]: But we're sitting here and you know, and he's like, okay, well, what's the face lift look like and I started going through some ideas with him and we're with it like we're really excited about it.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_03]: It requires more effort from us, but I think it's time for us to shake up what you're used to like we want you to when you're scrolling the timeline like oh wait that's social proof what are they doing that's different.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_03]: We want to capture your attention in a different way.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_03]: And so as we're also here.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_03]: You know, we talked about social proof, we're here talking about our other brand, the David and Donnie Group.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_03]: And we're looking for things to do inside of the David and Donnie Group to put our talent to use.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_03]: And I'm like, let's do something different that we hadn't done before.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_03]: I don't
- 7:33[SPEAKER_03]: And it's different for us.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_03]: I want you to hear that piece, right?
- 7:36[SPEAKER_03]: It's not something that hasn't been done before ever in the world.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_03]: It's something that we hadn't done before.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_03]: So there are people like somebody in our community asked, well, what's the blue ocean strategy here?
- 7:46[SPEAKER_03]: What the blue ocean strategy is usually going to be something where you are thinking about operating in a place that's not like other people have done it before.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_03]: And when you have your own unique voice, when you have your own unique approach and delivery to something,
- 8:00[SPEAKER_03]: you can take any common concept and create your own blue ocean strategy from it and that's the difference they are not everybody is going to resonate with my delivery and here's a no go somewhere else but we're looking to do something that is different for us right what can I do
- 8:16[SPEAKER_03]: that makes the old or the what can I do because the current way that I'm doing things feels outdated.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_00]: 100%.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_00]: The world popularity moves in waves.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_00]: So somebody that is popular right now chances are nobody will really care about what they're doing in the next few years, but there's somebody working at Wendy's right now passing fries through the window.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_00]: that will be a celebrity next year.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_00]: They understand what's happening in the streets and they keep doing it, celebrity moves and waves.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_00]: But for someone to stay relevant for a long time, they have to change what's changing.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_00]: So Jay-Z has been relevant for so long because he wrapped about drugs when it was cool to wrap about drugs.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_00]: Then he started wrapping about what's fly, and it was cool, it was cool, it was flashy.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_00]: It was cool to rap about fashion and luxury, so he started rapping about that.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_00]: He remained relevant when he saw oppression in the black community, then started getting one more empowerment for 44.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_00]: And then we're talking about, like, as a businessman, he's branded himself as a businessman because he sees the world, it's moving toward, there wasn't.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_03]: And so he raps about the, like, his 100% like you can see him in real life.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_03]: handle in business, you can see him in real life with his liquor brands and his record labels and all of his thing, you know, his, his investments, but you hear it carry over into his, into his music.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_03]: It's just like jeezy, the same thing, right?
- 9:48[SPEAKER_03]: He, he was the snowman and all the things.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_03]: And now he's talking about real estate in his, in his songs, like it has to evolve.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_03]: And it's not always that,
- 9:57[SPEAKER_03]: The industry is outdated.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_03]: Sometimes you're in outdated version, you're afraid in outdated version of yourself.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_03]: You are the Jay-Z and the Jay-Zs who blew up rapping about Coke.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_03]: But you handle in business now.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_03]: You're out there negotiating a skyscraper, condos and skyscrapers and all the things.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_03]: But because this is where you blew up, talking about the cocaine and the drugs and the women, you're still over here, but that's not your real life.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_03]: and sometimes you'll know that you need to evolve because your personality.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_03]: your values, your beliefs, the core of who you are, simply has shifted.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_00]: I absolutely have to have a shift.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_03]: Like, for me, there's nothing wrong with me continuing to do what I've been doing for the last 15 years, it works.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_03]: Like, it just simply works.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_03]: But as I grow, as I evolve, as I become interested in different things, and this is how I've built my brand, and you too, this is how we've built our brand.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_03]: This is all I know how to do, is when I evolve, and when I download a different version of myself,
- 10:58[SPEAKER_03]: I let my business be a mirror image of who I'm becoming.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think it's important that we have to look at our industry and just look at what's happening.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_00]: What's going on in the space?
- 11:10[SPEAKER_00]: Some people have like, closed the lines for years.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_00]: Shout out to Ole Miss, I think.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_00]: they are so good and they've been able to be successful so long as an independent clothing brand because they know what's happening in the streets and how people are dressing and they make clothes for that.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_00]: Now somebody could say, well, we've always done it this way, this is how we're going to do it.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_00]: Well, you're going to get left behind because every single industry,
- 11:37[SPEAKER_00]: evolve.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_00]: So you have to see what's happening in your industry.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_00]: Think about what's going on in your industry.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_00]: Right now so I'm going to make another post.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_00]: The other post I made a post about me on stage and you know my normal motivational stuff and then the last slide was the pants that I was wearing I got from Marshall's for $16 it was engaging
- 12:00[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I got another poster.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to make today actually where this is don't sweater that I got from Ross for $17.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_00]: I'm moving in that direction because at some point, it was super cool to be in your Louis and your Gucci and all that kind of stuff.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_00]: Now, the younger generation, they don't value that.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_00]: They value what looks nice.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_00]: And it's actually cooler to make something look nice that wasn't as expensive when years ago, it was cool when you spit x amount of dollars for your sweat shirt or your hoodie or your pants or your shoes.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm just seeing what's happening in the world, and I want to, I want to continue to conversation where people are right now.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_00]: So if you don't have a, if you have an old way of doing things and you see things changing, I'm telling you it's time to change.
- 12:48[SPEAKER_03]: So when you said that you hear people say like, this is the way that we've always been doing it.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_03]: It, number one is just simply not good enough, right?
- 12:59[SPEAKER_03]: Things evolve over time.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_03]: That's just, it's just no longer an excuse.
- 13:03[SPEAKER_03]: But when I think about that, I think about conversations that I have with individuals who say things like, well, that's just how I am.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_03]: You want evolution in life, you want to, so, you know, many of you know that I am on my spiritual journey.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_03]: I am reading the Bible from front to back.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_03]: I just finished the book of Ezra.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_03]: I'm moving it to me.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_03]: I'm through there right I am through there, but I think about and as I am doing that I am attracting more and more scripture that aligns with just who I'm becoming and the things that I'm really curious about and one of those things is when we say things like oh well that's just you know how I am I was having a conversation with somebody about that and I've talked about this like sometimes who you are just isn't good enough but spiritually to back that up we have to stop saying that's just
- 13:52[SPEAKER_03]: who I am because Christ didn't come to manage your old ways.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_03]: He came to make your old ways new.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_05]: Come on, come on, Pastor.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_03]: He came to make your old ways new.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_03]: And if you are a believer, like if you are a believer, you have to know that if Christ's job is to make your old ways new and he's given you the authority to build this business and to keep a sustainable business, there are some old ways in your business that also have to change.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_03]: He, you have to believe that he will take these all ways and continue to keep you relevant.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_03]: Continue to keep you up the day, continue to keep you sharp.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_03]: and knowledgeable about the things that you need to do in order to grow.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_03]: And I think everything now for me, especially baseline starts with my belief in what I'm believing for.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_03]: Some people are just really, really, really afraid of change.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_03]: And I want to give you the four scriptures because everything that I am really interested in and really believing now, I just want to give you four scriptures.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not going to read them out with these of four scriptures right down.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_03]: So you can go and end in my free you.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_03]: It might give you peace the way that it gave me peace and understanding like,
- 15:03[SPEAKER_03]: who I am and why I can't stay who I am.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_03]: What your business is and why your business can't just stay where it is.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_03]: First Corinthians 5-11, Revelation 21-5, Romans 12-2,
- 15:16[SPEAKER_03]: Ephesians for 22 through 24 is just when you said that I literally just had this conversation with somebody yesterday, so I wanted to pull up that conversation and give you guys that for reference because there are things that you're going to fear you're going to fear all of the what ifs what if I change and my customers don't like it.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_03]: What if I change and I turn it turns out that I'm no longer good at it?
- 15:38[SPEAKER_03]: What if I change and this idea was an epic fail and all of those are fear-based assumptions about things that have not even happened yet.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_03]: The truth of the matter is in 2026 you cannot be operating like you were in 2016.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_03]: and I see it.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_03]: I see it.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_03]: There's this challenge that's going around right now that says post yourself from 2016 10 years ago and I'm looking at some of your challenge posts and I'm like you look fantastic but you look the same.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_00]: The before and before pictures.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_03]: It's before and before that is before and previous to that.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_03]: It's before and yesterday, and that's not necessarily a flex, like something in you, something about you need it to visibly change, we need to see a difference, we need to feel a difference and for those of you who are opposed to nothing change, still doing the same thing, that's not a flex, like that's actually a problem and it's a problem in your business too because your customers are evolving, technology is evolving, and
- 16:45[SPEAKER_03]: Access is evolving your customers needs are evolving the economy has evolved and when we're talking about staying the same I use to sell this course six figure accelerator and inside that course I taught people how to
- 17:00[SPEAKER_03]: create coaching and consulting businesses.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_03]: That was the course that I saw that got me to my first seven figure year.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_03]: Do you know how hard it was for me to break up with that course?
- 17:10[SPEAKER_03]: I had to put that course to bed.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_03]: I could have revised the course.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_03]: Some of the information was outdated and not because it wouldn't work.
- 17:19[SPEAKER_03]: It's just no longer the way that I do things.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_03]: I'm evolving.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_03]: So I had to ask myself an integrity question.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_03]: do I keep selling this course knowing that if I started today, I wouldn't start this way.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_03]: That's how I started, but that's not how I would start today, knowing what I know now.
- 17:33[SPEAKER_03]: I had to ask myself an integrity question.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_03]: And then I had to make a decision, will do I just revise it because it's a winner?
- 17:39[SPEAKER_03]: Or do I honor the path that I'm moving into at that time?
- 17:43[SPEAKER_03]: I chose to only work with coaches and consultants.
- 17:46[SPEAKER_03]: But when I got to this decision-making diamond, right?
- 17:49[SPEAKER_03]: Where I have to say, am I going to go into a linear direction?
- 17:53[SPEAKER_03]: Or am I going to shape a shift thing side to side?
- 17:55[SPEAKER_03]: I realized there's no reason that what I teach only applies to coaches and consultants.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_03]: So I am going to put this multiple seven figure course to bed to try something different, frightening, frightening.
- 18:09[SPEAKER_03]: But then we brought back actionable CEO and you don't miss a beat, right?
- 18:12[SPEAKER_03]: You don't miss a beat in what you're doing, but you have to have this belief.
- 18:17[SPEAKER_03]: And first, you have to become aware enough, like self-aware enough to know that is time for some change.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_00]: This is a five-minute ago conversation,
- 18:29[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, what do you think about a juicy skit?
- 18:32[SPEAKER_03]: The what?
- 18:32[SPEAKER_00]: The juice skit.
- 18:34[SPEAKER_03]: With the pastors.
- 18:34[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I think he had light at some really important stuff.
- 18:40[SPEAKER_03]: Now, let me just say this.
- 18:41[SPEAKER_00]: The church has had a massive facelift.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_00]: I was just asking, K, and I'm like, you're having a church close.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_00]: Remember he's that church close, but now you don't have to go and church close.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 18:51[SPEAKER_00]: Even if you're on the court, you'd be like, you know what I'm doing?
- 18:53[SPEAKER_00]: Church close, what are those church shoes?
- 18:55[SPEAKER_00]: But now you, I mean, you can wear whatever you want.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_00]: You come and see what?
- 18:59[SPEAKER_00]: You come and see what?
- 19:00[SPEAKER_03]: So church, church, church, and let me be honest, something like, I've worn this to church
- 19:07[SPEAKER_03]: abnormal.
- 19:09[SPEAKER_03]: I felt a little bad.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_03]: I thought twice about it.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_03]: But church has really come as you are.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_03]: I will be honest with you.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_03]: I miss church club.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_03]: I do.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_03]: Like it was the only time in the week that you really had to put on some panty house.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_03]: And a little me, my little pistol skirt situation.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_03]: I miss getting dressed for church.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_03]: But if you do that now, you're like the eyeball.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_00]: So what do you think about the skit itself, I didn't want to lead the question, but what do you think?
- 19:45[SPEAKER_03]: So I had a couple of thoughts about the skit.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_03]: And I'm gonna go through a few of them.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_03]: Number one, I would just have been, I looked at the skit and I said it's necessary, but I could never have done that skit.
- 19:59[SPEAKER_03]: Quah.
- 20:00[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think that he was mocking God at all, but mocking the church and the church belongs to God, right?
- 20:06[SPEAKER_03]: So I just wouldn't have done it.
- 20:08[SPEAKER_03]: I might have had the conversation, right?
- 20:10[SPEAKER_03]: I ain't doing the skit that's getting 100 million views.
- 20:13[SPEAKER_03]: Number one,
- 20:14[SPEAKER_03]: Um, number two, there is a lot of idolatry that's happening inside of the church and I believe that it's important to point that out because I think that I am witnessing more people following pastors than following God and yeah, like y'all not even fact check and y'all don't even require that.
- 20:31[SPEAKER_03]: You know how many people I see posting videos of their pastor that don't even have a Bible up front.
- 20:36[SPEAKER_03]: He got the whole thing downloaded.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_03]: Like, what are we doing?
- 20:39[SPEAKER_03]: He got it all in his brain.
- 20:40[SPEAKER_03]: There's no phone.
- 20:40[SPEAKER_03]: There's no iPad.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_03]: There's no Bible.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_03]: And that's how they're cooking.
- 20:44[SPEAKER_00]: Just talking.
- 20:45[SPEAKER_03]: And he cooking, but our y'all fact checking anything.
- 20:49[SPEAKER_03]: And so like now and again, this is where I am in my journey.
- 20:53[SPEAKER_03]: Now when people are giving me advice, I'm literally either going to my
- 21:00[SPEAKER_03]: project inside a strategy pc and I'm going like, hey, this is a conversation that came up today.
- 21:05[SPEAKER_03]: Can you show me reference and scripture where scripture supports this, right?
- 21:09[SPEAKER_03]: And not being perfect and Bible thumping and all the things, I'm just trying to do better.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_03]: I'm trying to be more like Christ.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_03]: They don't say be just like him.
- 21:15[SPEAKER_03]: They say be more like.
- 21:16[SPEAKER_03]: So anyway, I saw that in the skit and I'm like, I think it's highlighting idolatry.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_03]: And then also
- 21:25[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, he's got a point like with the choice of clothes that our pastors wear, right?
- 21:30[SPEAKER_03]: He like, he wore blazer, Gucci belt, red by Lubitin, shoes, and I don't have a problem with prosperous and abundant pastors.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_03]: I truly don't.
- 21:43[SPEAKER_03]: But I think there's a difference between your private lifestyle and sometimes that the lifestyle that you put on display in front of your congregation because many of your congregation are suffering, struggling, hurting, and all the things.
- 21:59[SPEAKER_03]: And you know, sometimes maybe people can feel like that's an inspiration to other people to do better.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_03]: Um, sometimes it really is just like a overconsumption and I think when it turns into overconsumption, that's when it becomes a problem.
- 22:15[SPEAKER_00]: I see the past get fresh in three weeks.
- 22:17[SPEAKER_00]: I'm talking about fresh with a little outfit, red bottoms, I mean, they've been, they've most of the paths have been looking real.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_03]: They've been real all real nameless.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_00]: They've been real brandless.
- 22:26[SPEAKER_03]: They've been real all black pattern leather belt tissues.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_03]: real real standard low low sweater.
- 22:33[SPEAKER_00]: I've obviously had suits come back a little bit in the pulpit
- 22:36[SPEAKER_00]: Um, yeah, okay.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what you think about it.
- 22:40[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I thought it was, it was, I thought his art was reflecting reality.
- 22:45[SPEAKER_00]: That's what's happening.
- 22:46[SPEAKER_03]: It was art.
- 22:47[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that's his art.
- 22:49[SPEAKER_00]: That's how that's how, that's how, Drewski creates, he creates based on what he sees happening.
- 22:55[SPEAKER_00]: So he, he dressed up once on and then like a white, he looked like a white person.
- 23:01[SPEAKER_00]: I saw that in a he's reflecting that one white person that like that super cool was just I mean your reality is he's his art is reflecting reality and I think a lot of pastors have definitely gotten beside themselves.
- 23:19[SPEAKER_00]: You just tool it, and it's a popularity contest, and you want to be highlighted as you are him.
- 23:31[SPEAKER_00]: You're not him.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_00]: You're supposed to be a messenger to give people the truth, but it's become in two celebrity
- 23:48[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not leaning to one or the other way.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_03]: I am leaning, but I'm not sharing it with you.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_03]: One could argue that some of these pastors who are super-fresh all the time named brand $3,000 outfit on the stage, some could argue that they are calling people to draw nearer to God through relating to them because that's what they're attracted to.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_03]: So there's some people who are like, oh, that pastor's fly, right?
- 24:22[SPEAKER_03]: I want a life that represents that and all the things.
- 24:25[SPEAKER_03]: So they resonate with him and they become interested in studying the study and the Bible and study and the Word.
- 24:30[SPEAKER_03]: They become interested in going to church because they found a pastor that doesn't make them feel guilty about abundance.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_03]: That could be a perspective.
- 24:40[SPEAKER_03]: Some people would look at it and say, oh, no, that's obnoxious and ridiculous and, you know, it's not of God, it's not of the church.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_03]: got called us to to be disciples and to create other disciples.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_03]: So maybe maybe that's the angle.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_03]: What would you say to people who say well that's the angle like they're finding they're finding their market of people who souls they want to save and they're presenting this way because that's what's going to resonate to just get them in the church of God.
- 25:07[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that's the case.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_00]: I think a lot of people want to be lit.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's not like attracting somebody that if your goal is to attract someone because of a car you drive or a name brand at you, where you're no better than a dude at the club just getting fresh to attract a woman that's gonna do something because I got a nice car.
- 25:34[SPEAKER_00]: But this isn't that conversation, for us like,
- 25:38[SPEAKER_00]: The one do the spit in his hand as if he was Jesus and put it on the person's eyes What do that got to do with bringing somebody to God?
- 25:48[SPEAKER_03]: First of all, let me just tell you how ungodly I would have been if he spit in his hands and put it on my mind.
- 25:52[SPEAKER_00]: Who do you think you are, right?
- 25:54[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know him, but...
- 25:55[SPEAKER_03]: I would have nucked and been all kinds of butt.
- 25:58[SPEAKER_03]: And you spit in your hands and rubbed it on my face.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_03]: Are you trying to die in front of your congregation?
- 26:06[SPEAKER_03]: Like, I would have turned into a very ungodly person in the moment.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_03]: However, when I think about this, though, I remember when I was looking for...
- 26:13[SPEAKER_03]: I was moving out of my condo building, I wanted a different, you know, something, right?
- 26:18[SPEAKER_03]: And I'm thinking about this, this is like shaking it up in disruption is my personality.
- 26:23[SPEAKER_03]: When I lived in that condo building that I lived in, I probably lived in seven or eight different apartments in that building because I need a new floor plan.
- 26:31[SPEAKER_03]: I need a new view.
- 26:32[SPEAKER_03]: I need something new.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_03]: When I was looking for, I said, okay, I've lived in every floor plan.
- 26:37[SPEAKER_03]: I'm interested in, let's move to a different building.
- 26:40[SPEAKER_03]: And I would look at what I would go into these floor plans, gorgeous floor plans, but I look outside the window and I wasn't satisfied with what I saw.
- 26:49[SPEAKER_03]: I didn't like the view.
- 26:51[SPEAKER_03]: I didn't like what I would wake up to and look at every single day.
- 26:54[SPEAKER_03]: I don't want to look at a parking lot that's overwhelmed with weeds.
- 26:58[SPEAKER_03]: The square footage is beautiful.
- 27:00[SPEAKER_03]: And I understand that
- 27:01[SPEAKER_03]: That the layout is outstanding is top tier, but I don't like that view and then I go to another place and there's just a corner image of, you know, a whole bunch of unhomed, you know, people outside that you can see through the window and I don't want to wake up and see that every day and absorb that energy every single day and then you have, you know, something else where it just, it stares into nothing and I don't want to look into nothing and so I finally get to the place where I decided to live and
- 27:29[SPEAKER_03]: from every single window, like I didn't even know that what I saw mattered to me that much.
- 27:37[SPEAKER_03]: I was looking for white cabinets, like wood floors, spacious, where I could create like my podcast studio, all the things that's what I was looking for.
- 27:46[SPEAKER_03]: But then I realized what I see every single day outside that window matters to me.
- 27:51[SPEAKER_03]: And when I walked into this place, I realized what it was, I need to see abundance.
- 27:57[SPEAKER_03]: I am an entrepreneur who is believing that I can do hard things every single day.
- 28:02[SPEAKER_03]: I need motivation when I'm not motivated, I need inspiration when I'm not inspired, inspired.
- 28:07[SPEAKER_03]: And when I look outside my window, I see Google, I see Microsoft, I see Wells Fargo, I see these big skyscrapers,
- 28:19[SPEAKER_03]: I see all kinds of banks.
- 28:21[SPEAKER_03]: I see so much evidence of dreams being built that I realized I have to see that.
- 28:28[SPEAKER_03]: I cannot look into another building.
- 28:30[SPEAKER_03]: I don't want to look into a pool and see people acting foolish.
- 28:34[SPEAKER_03]: I need to see evidence of dreams happening.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_03]: I also see the interstate no matter what window I'm looking at.
- 28:40[SPEAKER_03]: And for me, instead of seeing traffic, I see people who are waking up every single day and pursuing their dreams, right?
- 28:47[SPEAKER_03]: And so it's a constant reminder to me when I don't feel like getting out of the bed, I live right next to an investment firm building, like it's humongous.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_03]: It's a skyscraper.
- 28:56[SPEAKER_03]: I live like how dare I say I want something big if I'm not willing to do that, right?
- 29:02[SPEAKER_03]: And so what I see visually matters to how I produce internally, right?
- 29:09[SPEAKER_03]: and and externally.
- 29:10[SPEAKER_03]: So I say that to saying, because this is my nature and because these are things that are important to how I'm maneuver through life, I can't imagine going into an environment, I can imagine that going into certain environments where everybody just kind of.
- 29:36[SPEAKER_03]: looks like they're not a representative of abundance.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_03]: They're not a representation of believing.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_03]: For somebody like me, that might not move my spirit, the way that I meet my spirit to be moved.
- 29:51[SPEAKER_03]: But for somebody like me, who's a dreamer, who's believing, who believes that Christ is gonna answer my prayers, like whatever I come to you for and ask you for as long as I surrender and believe you're gonna give it to me, I wanna be in a room full of other believers.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, well, how do I see who other believers are?
- 30:06[SPEAKER_03]: It's not just through chanting, the devil's and the choir.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_03]: You know what I mean?
- 30:10[SPEAKER_03]: Like, it's not just through chanting, I want to see evidence of how you live your life.
- 30:15[SPEAKER_03]: I want to see evidence of what you're believing for.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_03]: I want to see evidence of people in this church like actually being uplifted and inspired and all the things.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_03]: So I'm not saying that you have to be in name brand and this, but there is,
- 30:29[SPEAKER_03]: there is something about your environment, your environment that you live in, your environment that you worship in.
- 30:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, not for that.
- 30:36[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that will be cool if we're at a conference.
- 30:41[SPEAKER_03]: Hmm, I feel you.
- 30:42[SPEAKER_00]: But this is not, this is not that.
- 30:46[SPEAKER_00]: If the belief is, I want to see, I think what Craflow would probably be like the grandfather of.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_03]: I got mixed, I still got mixed with it.
- 30:56[SPEAKER_00]: Give me the grandfather of like the financial, whatever.
- 31:00[SPEAKER_03]: But Craflow and Marvin, was it Marvin Satt?
- 31:03[SPEAKER_03]: Who did that?
- 31:04[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, Craflow was starting.
- 31:05[SPEAKER_00]: He was not the door.
- 31:07[SPEAKER_03]: That was Marvin Satt.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_03]: Y'all cousins?
- 31:12[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know that this is true because I never had the experience, but he used to be rumored that you had to submit your tax returns to the member of the CREFLA.
- 31:21[SPEAKER_03]: That was the rumor back in the day, and I do think that maybe people were discrediting him with that.
- 31:26[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know if there's anybody who was ever a member, what's CREFLA a search?
- 31:31[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh
- 31:51[SPEAKER_00]: Here's the issue I have with that message.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_00]: If you come to worship God, because you believe that if I worship God, I will get the stuff that's happening here, I think that's the wrong approach for church.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_00]: There's not a slot machine.
- 32:13[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I agree.
- 32:14[SPEAKER_00]: Is there a feedback coming from a TV?
- 32:16[SPEAKER_03]: I hear it too.
- 32:18[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe you're, maybe it's the, um, the what's the name that maybe it's connected to speaker.
- 32:22[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 32:22[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and and I agree.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_03]: You don't you don't go to church for evidence of the stuff.
- 32:28[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 32:28[SPEAKER_03]: You're going to church to fill the spirit.
- 32:31[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
- 32:32[SPEAKER_03]: And so I remember there was a church that I stopped going to.
- 32:35[SPEAKER_03]: I love this pastor so much.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_03]: So I'm not going to call him.
- 32:37[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not going to say his name.
- 32:39[SPEAKER_03]: I had to stop going to his church because
- 32:45[SPEAKER_03]: there were just too many people coming straight from the club.
- 32:48[SPEAKER_03]: And they smelled of alcohol, they smelled of weed, the girls were coming with their dresses on, you could see through their dresses, and he welcomed them, right?
- 32:57[SPEAKER_03]: And I believe in come as you are, and I believe in saving souls, but I also believe in direction and correction.
- 33:03[SPEAKER_03]: Like I can't think of the scripture right now, but in the Bible, in revelations, I can't think of the text.
- 33:10[SPEAKER_03]: It says that this Bible,
- 33:12[SPEAKER_03]: This text is created in part of it says for correction and I think that we have to correct Like I don't want to be sitting in church next to O'Girl who got half her butt out and I love this pastor so much But because of the environment that I was in I couldn't focus
- 33:30[SPEAKER_03]: on even feel in the spirit.
- 33:31[SPEAKER_03]: It's not it's it's it's about the inner and and I listen I think there are places of worship that should welcome that and maybe you can correct through that it's just that I my spirit didn't settle there like that's not what I want to see coming to y'all hanging y'all hung over y'all taking the um the little you know it was just a lot um and so not even just in terms of wealth but just in terms of what you accept.
- 33:55[SPEAKER_03]: inside of your church.
- 33:57[SPEAKER_03]: Like Drusky was calling out pastors who are, you know, super into fashion and the riches and the display and of the wealth, but I think it opens up a lot of questions, like, what are you allowing in your church?
- 34:10[SPEAKER_03]: Period.
- 34:11[SPEAKER_03]: And don't forget that the church is not just the building, like we're all walking churches, right?
- 34:16[SPEAKER_03]: This is what it is.
- 34:17[SPEAKER_03]: What are you allowing
- 34:22[SPEAKER_03]: And I think, overall, whether it's to our pastors or to the congregation or to our sideline partners, nobody's offering correction, and that's where the problem is.
- 34:31[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think the word, and maybe this is into the conversation that we're having about kind of like branding or, you know, like appealing to an audience, which there are a lot of people out of starting churches because it's a good business idea, believe it or not, I'm having a lot of conversation with people and they just look at it.
- 34:50[SPEAKER_00]: as another marketing strategy like Yoshida-Sel, Shazel, real estate, Shazel, it's Shazel, it's Shazel, it's Shazel, it's Shazel, it's Shazel, it's Shazel, it's Shazel, it's Shazel, it's Shazel, it's Shazel, it's Shazel, it's Shazel, it's Shazel, it's Shazel, it's Shazel, it's Shazel, it's Shazel, Shazel, real estate Shazel, Shazel, it's Shazel, it's Shazel, Shazel, it's Shazel, it's Shazel, Shazel, it's Shazel, it's Shazel, Shazel, it's Shazel, it's Shazel,
- 35:12[SPEAKER_00]: creating a standard.
- 35:14[SPEAKER_00]: And when you come here, there's an expectation where you should change to be here.
- 35:19[SPEAKER_00]: But I think the church has become a more like the club a little bit.
- 35:23[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I remember, um, so my great grandfather owned a church.
- 35:29[SPEAKER_03]: I grew up loosely in church and I say loosely because I'm very familiar with church.
- 35:34[SPEAKER_03]: I grew up in Baptist church, but it wasn't as I got older.
- 35:36[SPEAKER_03]: It wasn't in every Sunday practice, right?
- 35:49[SPEAKER_03]: And if you had on one at all, they will come the church mothers will come and give you the look while.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_03]: Come on, church mothers.
- 35:55[SPEAKER_03]: Do we have church mothers?
- 35:57[SPEAKER_03]: Do we have lunchers anymore?
- 35:58[SPEAKER_03]: Like, I don't even, like, what do we do?
- 36:00[SPEAKER_03]: But the church mom will come and give you a cloth to put over your knees just to make sure, you know, because
- 36:06[SPEAKER_03]: there were there were people in church who will go and sit on the front trying to get press there and see if you put your cloth over and in all the things I do miss church culture I do also I do I understand that
- 36:25[SPEAKER_03]: the goal is to save souls and the goal is to lead people to the Word of God.
- 36:31[SPEAKER_03]: And I am grateful for the come as you are like allowance, but I think that we need some boundaries in some guidelines and you know, and all the things like come as you are means, you know, if you don't you don't have to have on
- 36:49[SPEAKER_03]: the three-piece suit.
- 36:50[SPEAKER_03]: If all you have are jeans and t-shirt, come, but you have to be fully covered.
- 36:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you know what I mean?
- 36:56[SPEAKER_00]: I ain't your jeans.
- 36:59[SPEAKER_00]: I'm saying, just, I, look, try to look presentable if you're coming back to your face.
- 37:04[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, for sure.
- 37:06[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, I'm sorry, but I had to ask when you started talking to me because that's all true.
- 37:10[SPEAKER_03]: That's an actual facelift that's happened in the, in the church and it's a good
- 37:19[SPEAKER_03]: you can apply this to your business because I talk to you about this before like I just pull back from certain circles.
- 37:27[SPEAKER_03]: I don't go to certain events anymore because these are things that
- 37:33[SPEAKER_03]: I didn't I don't always feel good about any more like I felt good about them at one time but now because I am evolving just the purpose behind the intent behind some of these things like I understand now why you don't be and be out there at a lot of stuff is just I'm not connected to that message anymore and we all get to evolve.
- 37:52[SPEAKER_03]: And you have to stop and ask yourself, hey, let me let me really do and audit about my business and then let me also do an introspective audit about who I am, am I aligned right and if you're a believer is this aligned with something that God will support that he that that scripture supports and all the things are am I showing up.
- 38:08[SPEAKER_03]: Because it makes me look like the money guy or the money girl.
- 38:12[SPEAKER_03]: It makes me look wealthy.
- 38:13[SPEAKER_03]: It makes me look like am I showing up because of what it does to satisfy other people.
- 38:18[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and when you're thinking about like using the church as an example.
- 38:22[SPEAKER_03]: The way the church mini churches has has even have evolved over time.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_03]: Ask yourself is my evolution.
- 38:31[SPEAKER_03]: cause and more harm, then it is good.
- 38:34[SPEAKER_03]: Do I feel good about it?
- 38:36[SPEAKER_03]: Can I support it through scripture?
- 38:37[SPEAKER_03]: You know, does it sizzle in my spirit?
- 38:39[SPEAKER_03]: Do I go to bed feeling guilty at night?
- 38:41[SPEAKER_03]: And usually I find that if you have to ask yourself too many questions about an idea, you're already on the wrong track.
- 38:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 38:48[SPEAKER_00]: I think about, does life style marketing still exist?
- 38:52[SPEAKER_03]: Heck yeah.
- 38:53[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, remember, it was a real consideration they would say that you have to show this and you have to show that.
- 39:00[SPEAKER_00]: But I think people are more...
- 39:02[SPEAKER_03]: I think they did to it now.
- 39:04[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, that drink?
- 39:05[SPEAKER_03]: It's disgusting, but I'm so curious.
- 39:10[SPEAKER_00]: But I don't think lifestyle marketing is as attractive anymore.
- 39:14[SPEAKER_00]: So when someone comes on, showing all their stuff, there was a time where the average person will watch us say, oh my gosh.
- 39:24[SPEAKER_00]: I love that.
- 39:24[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I want a car like that.
- 39:26[SPEAKER_00]: I want it.
- 39:27[SPEAKER_00]: But when people start showing that,
- 39:29[SPEAKER_00]: You can get a feel or a sense that the large majority of people saying, one, I can see past that.
- 39:36[SPEAKER_00]: Two, it doesn't sell me on anything.
- 39:39[SPEAKER_00]: Sell me on what your customers have done.
- 39:42[SPEAKER_00]: Tell me about your class.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_00]: People are more into the reviews than just, yo, it was when Ty Lopez was walking to his house on YouTube, in the mansion, and walking to his house, all his cars, people were like, yo, I want to buy it, because I want to be there.
- 39:55[SPEAKER_00]: But things have changed.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_00]: So if you are still hanging on to lifestyle marketing and you're thinking that it's going to convert people nowadays in the age where and right now it may turn off more people.
- 40:08[SPEAKER_00]: So you got to see what's going on in your industry?
- 40:09[SPEAKER_03]: Well, and it also depends on who you are.
- 40:12[SPEAKER_03]: Things have changed to us and the people who follow us and the people that we follow, right?
- 40:19[SPEAKER_03]: Because we've evolved, now we're attracting some different things.
- 40:22[SPEAKER_03]: Lifestyle marketing is has always been and will always be a real thing Because there are still people who hadn't reached that level of their journey where that turns them off just yet But we're older now and we've got people who've been following us for more than a decade now We've been following people for more than a decade and those people are evolving so their their fans their followers their customers They're also evolving
- 40:45[SPEAKER_03]: And so now Ty, where you went through the mansion in 2016 and that caught me then I need testimonials today like I'm not who I was in 2016, but there will still be that large group of people who are still very interested in lifestyle market and I saw one of our peers pull up.
- 41:02[SPEAKER_03]: They were in my amy and.
- 41:08[SPEAKER_03]: They were in Miami and they literally stopped traffic.
- 41:11[SPEAKER_03]: They pulled like a rose voice in the middle of the traffic.
- 41:13[SPEAKER_03]: It stopped traffic.
- 41:14[SPEAKER_03]: Did you see that?
- 41:15[SPEAKER_03]: Stop traffic and they're doing content and that's lifestyle marketing.
- 41:18[SPEAKER_03]: But I believe that they still have a very large group of people who are who still appeal to that.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_03]: they want the life style.
- 41:28[SPEAKER_03]: They want to see that the fast come up in this person, you know, I think they're great at what they do.
- 41:32[SPEAKER_03]: They do a lot of, here I was before, you know, I think he shows like a lot of visuals of like,
- 41:40[SPEAKER_03]: how everything is changed.
- 41:41[SPEAKER_03]: His aesthetic is changed.
- 41:42[SPEAKER_03]: He fixed his teeth, and it was a drastic change.
- 41:44[SPEAKER_03]: And so he still really kind of enjoying what his lifestyle is becoming as a result of all this success.
- 41:52[SPEAKER_03]: So he's attracting a bunch of people who are enjoying that.
- 41:55[SPEAKER_03]: I've never been a lifestyle marketer.
- 41:57[SPEAKER_03]: Like I've just been a my life on display and my testimonials to market for me.
- 42:03[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think you've ever been a lifestyle marketer.
- 42:06[SPEAKER_03]: So it doesn't appeal to us the same way.
- 42:08[SPEAKER_03]: We tapped out and you couldn't pay me the lifestyle market today.
- 42:13[SPEAKER_03]: And you just couldn't, I've always kind of thought it was cheesy, but that's also because that's not how I make my buying decisions.
- 42:21[SPEAKER_03]: That doesn't mean though that that's not how other people don't make their buying decisions.
- 42:24[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but I would say at that time, that's all you need it.
- 42:30[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't even though extra value.
- 42:32[SPEAKER_00]: But now, obviously, these influencers, they know they got to offer some sort of value and show you some sort of like this what I'm doing, pair with the lifestyle marketing.
- 42:43[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm saying that old way of just being in front of a Lambo is maybe because I just couldn't lifestyle market at first.
- 42:52[SPEAKER_03]: Listen, I was crawling out of the mud here in the head lost everything there was no like I'm belief marketing I'm telling y'all what I'm believing in what I'm believing or I'm affirmation marketing over here Because that's all I had and then when it got to the point where I started making money It was very important for me to change me my mother and my daughter's environment like the house that we were living in was falling apart and all of the things and I need it to move and I remember
- 43:19[SPEAKER_03]: I remember making $3,400,000 a year and still sleeping on my mother's couch.
- 43:25[SPEAKER_03]: Like, that's the last time I get it.
- 43:28[SPEAKER_03]: There was no lifestyle market.
- 43:29[SPEAKER_03]: What am I showing y'all?
- 43:30[SPEAKER_03]: I'll have to prepare my couch for bed every night.
- 43:32[SPEAKER_03]: How do people that are pissing me off having to go to the kitchen when I'm from the sleep?
- 43:38[SPEAKER_03]: But I did that because there was some fear associated to me like, okay, let me get my own place and my mind would if this doesn't keep working.
- 43:47[SPEAKER_03]: So I said let me move us to a really nice place.
- 43:50[SPEAKER_03]: I want to make sure my mother has her own space.
- 43:52[SPEAKER_03]: My daughter has their own space because I'm in the middle and I can just kind of thug it out.
- 43:56[SPEAKER_03]: So I chose to sleep on the sofa.
- 43:57[SPEAKER_03]: There was no lifestyle marketing for me.
- 44:00[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, we lived in luxury, but I slipped on the sofa.
- 44:03[SPEAKER_03]: And I was very, very open about that.
- 44:04[SPEAKER_03]: So maybe I have a feeling about lifestyle marketing because I never got the chance to do it.
- 44:08[SPEAKER_03]: And by the time I had the lifestyle like,
- 44:11[SPEAKER_03]: The last thing I wanted to do was market it for sure.
- 44:14[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.
- 44:15[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.
- 44:16[SPEAKER_00]: So y'all need to throw it in the comments.
- 44:20[SPEAKER_00]: Do you need a fresh look, a fresh brand, a rebrand?
- 44:28[SPEAKER_00]: And again, I think one of the biggest challenges is people look at rebranding.
- 44:31[SPEAKER_00]: I need to start a new business, and that's not it.
- 44:35[SPEAKER_00]: it's just the way you're presenting to the world.
- 44:38[SPEAKER_00]: It may be a different offer, but I still feel like you need to be who you are.
- 44:43[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 44:44[SPEAKER_00]: I've always promoted entrepreneurship.
- 44:46[SPEAKER_00]: You've always promoted entrepreneurship as we're thinking about it.
- 44:49[SPEAKER_00]: We're always thinking about, okay, what can I do?
- 44:51[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, this is how I see it.
- 44:55[SPEAKER_00]: What can I do that will make my audience say, whoa, it's going to another level.
- 45:02[SPEAKER_00]: not doing something different.
- 45:04[SPEAKER_00]: But that person is going to another level.
- 45:06[SPEAKER_00]: What about how your Amazon, I think they've continued to audit, innovate, not just followed at times, but one is like, yo, we're selling this and then Jeff Basel does something else and then like, oh, wow, you're offering this now and he says, okay, well, you can get it.
- 45:21[SPEAKER_00]: in three days, and they're like, yo, this company's going to the next level, the next start introducing same days like, oh, going to another level, they're following what's happening in the demand of the world.
- 45:31[SPEAKER_00]: So we all have to do that.
- 45:33[SPEAKER_00]: We have to do something exciting.
- 45:35[SPEAKER_00]: Mix the stuff up.
- 45:37[SPEAKER_00]: Yo, I started doing live events because I knew that most of my peers that are in the space weren't going to do a lot of event.
- 45:45[SPEAKER_00]: I wanted to have an experience.
- 45:46[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm saying, not that I'm doing something different, not I'm offering
- 45:51[SPEAKER_00]: But this is exciting to be able to announce to my audience that we as a community are going to that next level.
- 45:57[SPEAKER_00]: So many people need a new brand identity and don't change everything at once.
- 46:04[SPEAKER_03]: Please don't don't change everything at once.
- 46:06[SPEAKER_03]: I don't want you to get super pumped up after this episode and say, Oh my god, I'm going to go change everything right now.
- 46:11[SPEAKER_03]: No, keep remember you still have like revenue to earn and bills to pay people to feed and all those things.
- 46:18[SPEAKER_03]: But
- 46:19[SPEAKER_03]: Let your brand evolve in layers and here's the beautiful thing.
- 46:23[SPEAKER_03]: I say all the time about entrepreneurship like You get to really build what you want Just because you started in a certain lane doesn't mean that you have to stay there.
- 46:36[SPEAKER_03]: You are not glued.
- 46:37[SPEAKER_03]: You are not like don't let What you've done in hat success in
- 46:43[SPEAKER_03]: trap you into staying there.
- 46:45[SPEAKER_03]: You can even make it out.
- 46:47[SPEAKER_03]: Just like you made it out of the corporate America.
- 46:49[SPEAKER_03]: Some of you made it out of the hood.
- 46:50[SPEAKER_03]: Some of you made it out of conditions that you didn't want to be in.
- 46:54[SPEAKER_03]: If your business feels like it's suffocating you.
- 46:57[SPEAKER_03]: You can make it out of that too.
- 46:59[SPEAKER_03]: It just may be time for you to disrupt some things and give it a face lift.
- 47:03[SPEAKER_00]: Let's go.
- 47:04[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you.
- 47:05[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you.
- 47:05[SPEAKER_03]: Hey, you guys.
- 47:06[SPEAKER_03]: It's been another wonderful episode of the social proof podcast.
- 47:09[SPEAKER_03]: I want you to share this with somebody.
- 47:12[SPEAKER_03]: And I want you to also put something in the comments for me something that you maybe something that me and David said to you as it relates to scripture and text and belief like I want to know if any of those things resonated with you because I am newly and proudly like super deep into this journey and y'all correct me if I'm ever wrong y'all support me when it's right.
- 47:37[SPEAKER_03]: But this is what we're doing.
- 47:38[SPEAKER_03]: What stood out for you in this episode
- 47:42[SPEAKER_03]: like, subscribe, and all of that stuff to the network because I think we're about to start and invite y'all to come into this.
- 47:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we might be coming to your city.
- 47:54[SPEAKER_03]: We are also.
- 47:55[SPEAKER_00]: I'm saying.
- 47:56[SPEAKER_00]: We're not going to travel every week.
- 47:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 47:59[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm going to say whatever.
- 48:00[SPEAKER_00]: When every episode, what if every episode was live in a different city?
- 48:05[SPEAKER_03]: What if every episode was live in a different city?
- 48:08[SPEAKER_03]: With a limited studio audience?
- 48:10[SPEAKER_03]: Like, remember the Ricky Lake show and Jerry Springer?
- 48:13[SPEAKER_03]: What if we could go into the audience and ask some questions and all the things?
- 48:18[SPEAKER_03]: Like, it's like a traveling podcast slash talk show kind of thing?
- 48:21[SPEAKER_03]: Like,
- 48:23[SPEAKER_00]: We could do that, bro.
- 48:24[SPEAKER_03]: We got a van outside.
- 48:25[SPEAKER_00]: We got a van.
- 48:27[SPEAKER_00]: We're like our faces in the van.
- 48:28[SPEAKER_00]: It's not that comfortable.
- 48:29[SPEAKER_03]: No, no, no, no, not for us for our stuff.
- 48:31[SPEAKER_03]: For the equipment, like we got team members, we have equipment.
- 48:35[SPEAKER_00]: How do we fly and they drive it there?
- 48:37[SPEAKER_03]: We got all drive.
- 48:38[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, we could all drive.
- 48:39[SPEAKER_00]: We could all drive.
- 48:40[SPEAKER_03]: We can all drive.
- 48:41[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, it depends on how far.
- 48:43[SPEAKER_03]: If it's within four hours, I'm cool with driving.
- 48:47[SPEAKER_00]: Not never.
- 48:49[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, I'm never writing in that vein.
- 48:51[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 48:51[SPEAKER_03]: That's not what I meant.
- 48:52[SPEAKER_03]: It's the cargo van.
- 48:53[SPEAKER_03]: I meant to carry the cargo.
- 48:58[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not writing in that screen.
- 49:01[SPEAKER_03]: It's not for that.
- 49:02[SPEAKER_03]: It's a cargo vehicle.
- 49:04[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 49:07[SPEAKER_03]: You know what I mean?
- 49:08[SPEAKER_03]: But there, we have to have a transportation team.
- 49:12[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we should be on tour anyway, man.
- 49:16[SPEAKER_00]: We should be on tour.
- 49:18[SPEAKER_03]: We haven't been on tour in years.
- 49:26[SPEAKER_03]: You remember the last tour we were on?
- 49:28[SPEAKER_00]: I remember the last tour.
- 49:30[SPEAKER_00]: But we need a face.
- 49:31[SPEAKER_00]: That's what we need a face.
- 49:34[SPEAKER_00]: It's already a face live, right?
- 49:37[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, let's just think about it.
- 49:39[SPEAKER_03]: Let's think through that.
- 49:40[SPEAKER_03]: Actually, we're going on tour.
- 49:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 49:44[SPEAKER_03]: Why don't we just kill two bars with one stone?
- 49:50[SPEAKER_03]: Give me, give me, give me, give me, let's, let's talk through give me your ideas give me your thoughts so we could do a little two day thing one day we're on the one tour and in the other day so we're going on tour for podcast I'm it so one day we're on tour for podcast I'm it and then we follow it up it could even be same day right we could have a this is a time slot that we're here for podcast I'm it this is a time slot that we're here for the social proof podcast there
- 50:19[SPEAKER_03]: take it at events to separate events.
- 50:21[SPEAKER_03]: You can buy tickets to both events if you want, but this is what we're doing.
- 50:25[SPEAKER_03]: Why wouldn't the podcast torque in a social-proof podcast episode with A-minami?
- 50:32[SPEAKER_03]: It's like we got the matinee in the main event.
- 50:36[SPEAKER_00]: I'm feeling what you're doing.
- 50:40[SPEAKER_03]: Mm-hmm.
- 50:41[SPEAKER_03]: We got the matinee in the main event, and we actually have room for more dates on the tour.
- 50:47[SPEAKER_03]: We do.
- 50:47[SPEAKER_03]: We just need some ambassadors in their city who wants to host, who will want to host me and David in their city.
- 50:54[SPEAKER_03]: You.
- 50:56[SPEAKER_03]: Who want to do that?
- 50:57[SPEAKER_03]: What's the email that they can?
- 50:58[SPEAKER_03]: What's the email?
- 50:58[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see, uh, or what, and for a podcast, I'm, and for a podcast, I'm a dot com.
- 51:03[SPEAKER_00]: There, here's what we have so far.
- 51:05[SPEAKER_00]: We got Miami, Cleveland, Augusta, Georgia, Dallas, Texas, Buffalo, New York, and Chicago.
- 51:13[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and, okay, let me, let me put it out the way that, um, we got these cities.
- 51:18[SPEAKER_00]: So,
- 51:20[SPEAKER_00]: The idea is being able to partner with someone in the city who adds influence.
- 51:26[SPEAKER_00]: So I thought, I'm thinking, yo, if I want to go on a podcast, I'm at tour.
- 51:31[SPEAKER_00]: But I want to connect with people who have influence in their city.
- 51:34[SPEAKER_00]: So what we said was, we will come to your city.
- 51:38[SPEAKER_00]: You just got to take care of the flight, the room, you get the venue.
- 51:42[SPEAKER_00]: you have to be able to bring out a hundred people yourself even if we don't promote.
- 51:47[SPEAKER_00]: So if you could bring out a hundred people and we have an audience that we could bring out a hundred people and we throw some some like ads behind it, whatever room, two, two, fifty, whatever.
- 51:57[SPEAKER_00]: Not a benefit for them, what else I was like, you know, if you want to
- 51:59[SPEAKER_00]: Sell tickets to a after, you know, dinner or something like that.
- 52:04[SPEAKER_00]: Cool, we'll just go and we'll lock it in.
- 52:06[SPEAKER_00]: That will be a way you get your money back.
- 52:08[SPEAKER_00]: But I did it two years ago.
- 52:10[SPEAKER_00]: It made some amazing connections.
- 52:12[SPEAKER_00]: And it was just fire, bro.
- 52:15[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that's a way where we don't have to plan so much.
- 52:19[SPEAKER_00]: They already have boots on the ground.
- 52:21[SPEAKER_00]: They have an audience.
- 52:22[SPEAKER_00]: We run some ads so people can see us as well.
- 52:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 52:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, I'm sending email info a podcast some at dot com.
- 52:33[SPEAKER_00]: We are going to work on the logistics of that because we could do it just earlier in a day or after my be late, but Yeah, let's work through that.
- 52:41[SPEAKER_00]: Let's work on that.
- 52:42[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, let's let's let's think through that and we want to do more cities.
- 52:46[SPEAKER_03]: I would love to be on tour the majority of the year.
- 52:52[SPEAKER_03]: Let's do it.
- 52:53[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, like we need a face lift.
- 52:55[SPEAKER_03]: And this is this is actually what I brought today.
- 52:57[SPEAKER_03]: When I said, hey, social proof podcast needs a face lift.
- 53:01[SPEAKER_03]: Let's start doing live shows.
- 53:04[SPEAKER_03]: And let's start right here in the studio.
- 53:06[SPEAKER_03]: Not in this room.
- 53:06[SPEAKER_03]: There's a larger room.
- 53:07[SPEAKER_03]: Let's start right up front.
- 53:09[SPEAKER_03]: in the main event space until we outgrow that and then we actually start moving around and letting you guys come in what I say monthly once a month once a month and we film like three episodes each month and you guys can come in and see you can you can purchase a ticket to come in live for one show or you can purchase a bundle ticket and sit and watch all three shows but I love how
- 53:35[SPEAKER_03]: Like really conceptualizing it right now, and now we're about to execute it.
- 53:39[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah Yeah, all right, all right, all right.
- 53:44[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you.
- 53:45[SPEAKER_00]: I've enjoyed it.
- 53:45[SPEAKER_00]: We got some implants.
- 53:47[SPEAKER_00]: That means that his wheels are Go let's go let's get to a job with you our next week shares with somebody
