- 0:01Speaker 1: Cocktober boys, South Carolina beats Tennessee and a wild one
- 0:05Speaker 1: in Columbia. This is presented by prize picks. South Carolina
- 0:09Speaker 1: jumps out to a 14, nothing lead. I don't know
- 0:13Speaker 1: why I just said it like that, but 14, nothing
- 0:14Speaker 1: lead Tennessee storms all the way back. It seemed to
- 0:17Speaker 1: seemingly controlled the game through the second and third quarter.
- 0:20Speaker 1: And then the fourth quarter belonged to South Carolina. Tennessee's
- 0:24Speaker 1: offense just could not find a rhythm. They were backed
- 0:27Speaker 1: up at times. Um, they had turnovers that, that hurt them. Um,
- 0:33Speaker 1: and South Carolina found a way to get the dub. Um, interesting,
- 0:36Speaker 1: incredible play by sellers on the, uh, on the touchdown on,
- 0:40Speaker 1: on fourth down, I believe, um, to get it. And
- 0:42Speaker 1: then Tennessee just cannot, uh, can't come back. Um, didn't, uh,
- 0:47Speaker 1: that was to, was that's a tie. And then sellers, uh, sellers,
- 0:50Speaker 1: his touchdown was to tie.
- 0:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:51Speaker 3: Then Tennessee turns the ball over McIntyre. Yeah.
- 0:55Speaker 1: McIntyre was moving them on that last drive. And, um,
- 0:58Speaker 1: the fumble came and, Dylan Stewart does Dylan Stewart type things,
- 1:01Speaker 1: takes over a game, and South Carolina wins.
- 1:03Speaker 3: They've now beat.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Two back-to-back ranked opponents. Shane Beamer's seat is as cold
- 1:08Speaker 1: as my diet Dr. Pepper, but I don't know if
- 1:10Speaker 1: it's quite that cold. But Cole, thoughts on this one?
- 1:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, it's Cocktober. Anything can happen in the
- 1:15Speaker 2: world of college football, specifically in Columbia, South Carolina, at
- 1:18Speaker 2: Willie B on a Saturday afternoon. That's number one. Number two,
- 1:22Speaker 2: I thought this game was going to go exactly how
- 1:24Speaker 2: it was supposed to go, which is South Carolina gets
- 1:26Speaker 2: a double-digit lead. and then proceeds to blow it after
- 1:30Speaker 2: getting a double-digit lead. Because it felt that way. I mean,
- 1:32Speaker 2: let's be real for a second. They had quick screen,
- 1:34Speaker 2: quick screen, quick screen, quick screen, then the end zone.
- 1:37Speaker 2: All right, now they're back in the end zone. 14-0.
- 1:39Speaker 2: And then here comes Tennessee's offense, and it's chugging along,
- 1:42Speaker 2: and it's doing the chugging thing, and it's like, here
- 1:43Speaker 2: comes Deshaun Bishop, looking like Deshaun Bishop, and then here's Sellers,
- 1:47Speaker 2: who does what Sellers does best, which is either home
- 1:50Speaker 2: run ball, dumb mistake. Oh, pick... Metcalf, here we go.
- 1:54Speaker 2: Right back to you. We'll make it 14-14. Brand new ballgame.
- 1:57Speaker 2: Really sloppy second quarter at times where, okay, here's momentum
- 2:01Speaker 2: in favor of South Carolina. It's 17-14. Then here comes
- 2:05Speaker 2: Tennessee where they're able to go to get the explosives.
- 2:08Speaker 2: They punch their way into the end zone. 21-17. Defense
- 2:10Speaker 2: is showing up in the third quarter. And then we
- 2:12Speaker 2: go to the fourth, which is where it was really exciting.
- 2:16Speaker 2: And you have your opportunities if you're Tennessee. And Tennessee
- 2:19Speaker 2: finds their way into the end zone. Oh wait, no
- 2:21Speaker 2: they don't because there's a penalty that's called against them.
- 2:23Speaker 2: And then Tennessee finds their way into the end zone
- 2:25Speaker 2: and there's another explosive deep downfield and it's like, oh
- 2:27Speaker 2: my god, this is where we wake on up. No wait,
- 2:30Speaker 2: David Sanders holding call. Alright, here we go, now legal
- 2:32Speaker 2: man downfield. And it's just like, it's the shooting yourself
- 2:35Speaker 2: in the foot. And it's the little details like that
- 2:37Speaker 2: that carry such a weight. And South Carolina's defense did
- 2:40Speaker 2: enough to be able to force Tennessee to have the
- 2:44Speaker 2: turnover on downs. Then you had the play from Sellers.
- 2:47Speaker 2: And thankfully, Sellers, again, doing the hero ball or making
- 2:51Speaker 2: a dumb mistake, did the hero ball of leaning backwards
- 2:54Speaker 2: because you saw the play. I mean, like if you
- 2:56Speaker 2: tell me on the initial contact that he finds way
- 3:00Speaker 2: to the end zone, I'm going to say, oh, he
- 3:02Speaker 2: fumbled it, got out of it, and jumped on the
- 3:05Speaker 2: ball in the end zone. That's the way. Nope, contorts
- 3:07Speaker 2: his body around, puts it right on the pylon, makes
- 3:10Speaker 2: it on in at the goal line. Game-saving situation. And
- 3:13Speaker 2: then you have the strip sack. by Dylan Stewart, and
- 3:16Speaker 2: it's now momentum going in favor of South Carolina. They
- 3:20Speaker 2: get a run. They get the kick. It's up. Here's
- 3:23Speaker 2: the problem, and I want to pose this to both
- 3:24Speaker 2: of you. Tennessee fans are calling this a BS game
- 3:28Speaker 2: because of officiating, and I would like to be the
- 3:30Speaker 2: first to say SEC officiating needs a legit wake-up call
- 3:35Speaker 2: reality check. They are taking too many penalties in this game,
- 3:39Speaker 2: and they are absolutely trying to dictate how the game goes.
- 3:44Speaker 2: That's not the reason South Carolina won this football game.
- 3:46Speaker 2: They did not win this football game because of that.
- 3:49Speaker 3: Can we back up? Because I did see in the
- 3:50Speaker 3: comments quite a bit today. What are the major gripes?
- 3:52Speaker 3: What were the play?
- 3:53Speaker 1: It was that all the touchdowns called back. They got
- 3:55Speaker 1: in the end zone six times and only three of
- 3:57Speaker 1: them counted. I thought maybe one call was questionable. And
- 4:04Speaker 1: I think I'm a little bit of a Tennessee homer
- 4:07Speaker 1: because of the fans. And I was wanting Tennessee to
- 4:09Speaker 1: win this game.
- 4:10Speaker 3: I picked them. I bet on them. But I thought
- 4:12Speaker 3: two of the calls were fine. I'll give you one.
- 4:15Speaker 2: The David Sanders holding call, guys, I'm sorry.
- 4:18Speaker 4: It was a hold.
- 4:19Speaker 2: It's clear that you're watching him drag him down. It's
- 4:22Speaker 2: a hold. It is. I'm sorry. How about this? You
- 4:25Speaker 2: want to talk about a play like that, which is fair.
- 4:28Speaker 2: I completely understand that you can go with the holding calls.
- 4:30Speaker 2: What about the fourth and one?
- 4:31Speaker 1: Quick break from the video. Want to let you know

- 5:09Speaker 2: You have an opportunity to go ahead and get the
- 5:11Speaker 2: momentum and keep the drive alive and you get your
- 5:13Speaker 2: way to the end zone and you get too cute.
- 5:16Speaker 3: Way too cute.
- 5:17Speaker 2: And it's like, guys, it's the bonehead mistakes. Tennessee in
- 5:21Speaker 2: this game, fair or unfair? finished the night with 12
- 5:26Speaker 2: penalties for 90 yards. And you had it still on
- 5:30Speaker 2: fourth and one. And you try to get too cute. Now,
- 5:34Speaker 2: I want to give credit where credit's due. Willie B
- 5:36Speaker 2: is a house of horrors. It's a nightmare scenario for
- 5:39Speaker 2: any young quarterback to go into. And Clayton White, the
- 5:42Speaker 2: defense coordinator for South Carolina, kind of took a page
- 5:44Speaker 2: out of Jim Knowles' book of watching Keelan Russell last
- 5:47Speaker 2: week and said, hey, we're going to pressure this quarterback
- 5:50Speaker 2: into doing something really stupid at the most ill-advised time possible.
- 5:54Speaker 2: And who knows if it's because of that atmosphere, that's
- 5:57Speaker 2: what went with the handoff, because it felt like it
- 5:59Speaker 2: was trickery from the jump. Was it supposed to go
- 6:01Speaker 2: the tight end? Was it not supposed to go that?
- 6:03Speaker 2: And so it was like just dead from the get-go,
- 6:06Speaker 2: which is the big difference here. But how many times
- 6:10Speaker 2: you can look at the explosive plays, and this has
- 6:12Speaker 2: been a problem for Tennessee all year. They are a
- 6:15Speaker 2: penalized team offensively, where they should be able to get
- 6:19Speaker 2: the crushing blow, but because of a self-inflicted wound, whether
- 6:23Speaker 2: it be an illegal man downfield, a shift, a motion
- 6:27Speaker 2: that was called, a false start, a block, a holding call,
- 6:31Speaker 2: it's negated of a big explosive play. And like, once again,
- 6:35Speaker 2: it shows on up in South Carolina and South Carolina's
- 6:38Speaker 2: offense does just for the fourth quarter to be able
- 6:40Speaker 2: to get a three point win, which also was a
- 6:42Speaker 2: really bad bet because it was a two and a
- 6:44Speaker 2: half point line.
- 6:46Speaker 3: Yeah, it was, I mean, it was tough, man.
- 6:49Speaker 1: Tennessee, I thought had it, you know, their defense ran
- 6:54Speaker 1: into Eleanor sellers, which is tough. And he did go
- 6:58Speaker 1: Superman at times in this thing, evidenced by the very
- 7:02Speaker 1: last touchdown. Um, you had leaned on that defense a lot.
- 7:07Speaker 1: You had leaned on that defense a ton and they
- 7:09Speaker 1: had come through way more often than they shouldn't. But man,
- 7:13Speaker 1: I know it's a red shirt freshman back there. I
- 7:15Speaker 1: know South Carolina was, I know, man, I know I
- 7:18Speaker 1: get it, but you, you got to count on your
- 7:20Speaker 1: offense to do something. You know, they, they, they took
- 7:23Speaker 1: the first quarter off. They took the fourth quarter off.
- 7:25Speaker 1: Can't do that. Can't do that on the road against
- 7:27Speaker 1: the talented team with Lenore sellers and Dylan Stewart on it.
- 7:30Speaker 1: And South Carolina had already shown you that they could
- 7:32Speaker 1: go on the road and beat a top 10, Florida
- 7:34Speaker 1: or a top 25 Florida team. And they had enough
- 7:37Speaker 1: talent to slow down a run game and, and play
- 7:42Speaker 1: complimentary football. And they also like, I'm not giving South
- 7:46Speaker 1: Carolina credit for the loss, but they also like, you know,
- 7:51Speaker 1: they did blow some leads, but they also jumped out
- 7:53Speaker 1: to big leads against Kentucky.
- 7:54Speaker 3: And like they, and Mississippi state back when Mississippi state
- 7:57Speaker 3: was hot, like.
- 7:58Speaker 1: They proved that they're a competent team and they just
- 8:01Speaker 1: basically stopped these last two games did not, did not
- 8:09Speaker 1: blow leads, you know? So I do think that you,
- 8:15Speaker 1: I mean, you just played with fire. You needed to
- 8:17Speaker 1: continue to go on offense and, the mistakes. I hated
- 8:20Speaker 1: the fourth down call.
- 8:23Speaker 3: The fumble.
- 8:24Speaker 1: McIntyre, just not great awareness there. The touchdowns, you've got
- 8:28Speaker 1: to stop committing penalties when you score touchdowns. They took
- 8:31Speaker 1: a lot of points off the board.
- 8:33Speaker 3: Tom?
- 8:35Speaker 4: It's unfortunate because the victory against Alabama was such a
- 8:39Speaker 4: tone setter, I think, beyond just the fan base, the program.
- 8:45Speaker 4: It really felt like a mile marker victory for Josh Heupel.
- 8:49Speaker 4: And there have been conversations last year, it's like, hey,
- 8:51Speaker 4: they didn't beat a team that had a winning record.
- 8:54Speaker 4: And coming into this season, it was like, hey, is
- 8:56Speaker 4: Josh Heupel on the hot seat? And I felt really
- 8:58Speaker 4: good about Tennessee coming out of this. I had them
- 9:00Speaker 4: ranked in the top five of my college football addiction
- 9:03Speaker 4: top 25 poll. And now I'm sitting here like, okay,
- 9:07Speaker 4: is this just more evidence to the fact that not
- 9:10Speaker 4: just the SEC, but college football as a whole, it's
- 9:13Speaker 4: anybody can get anybody on any given week. And I
- 9:15Speaker 4: tend to lean towards that more so than anything. I
- 9:18Speaker 4: think it was pretty clear once they moved away from
- 9:20Speaker 4: Faison Brandon after the Texas game that Tennessee was going
- 9:24Speaker 4: to say, hey, we're going to play the safest we
- 9:26Speaker 4: can possibly play at the quarterback position. And even if
- 9:29Speaker 4: I look at this team and say, man, if I
- 9:31Speaker 4: picked Trinidad Chambliss off the tree and I put him
- 9:35Speaker 4: in Knoxville, Tennessee, would that fix it? There still isn't
- 9:39Speaker 4: enough to this offense beyond Deshaun Bishop to get things
- 9:42Speaker 4: done to the point where it's like, hey, they're going
- 9:44Speaker 4: to score enough points. to compete with somebody to really
- 9:46Speaker 4: put away an opponent like this that they should be
- 9:48Speaker 4: better than.
- 9:49Speaker 3: And defensively, this was a letdown.
- 9:51Speaker 4: Based on what Jim Knowles and company put together against
- 9:53Speaker 4: Alabama the week prior. So hats off to South Carolina
- 9:57Speaker 4: because this guy counted him out for dead when guys
- 10:00Speaker 4: like Dylan Stewart were counting out Shane Beamer and basically
- 10:04Speaker 4: disrespecting him and just saying like, hey, we're not really
- 10:07Speaker 4: listening to you. I've been counting down the days when
- 10:09Speaker 4: he's going to get fired, but I think he saved
- 10:10Speaker 4: his job at this point, which is astonishing to think.
- 10:14Speaker 4: There's still a lot of season left to be played.
- 10:16Speaker 4: If you're a Tennessee Volunteers fan, you're still looking at
- 10:19Speaker 4: this saying, hey, we have two losses, but you've got
- 10:21Speaker 4: Kentucky at Texas A & M, home against LSU, and
- 10:24Speaker 4: at Vanderbilt remaining on the schedule. Kentucky and LSU are
- 10:27Speaker 4: the games I'm looking at where I'm like, coin flips.
- 10:30Speaker 4: And even the Texas A & M game, I think,
- 10:32Speaker 4: is something you could say is a coin flip. And
- 10:33Speaker 4: if you don't keep things organized against Vanderbilt, Vandy could
- 10:37Speaker 4: jump up and get you. So Tennessee's got to finish
- 10:39Speaker 4: strong if they want any hope of making the college
- 10:42Speaker 4: football playoff and the chances of.
- 10:44Speaker 3: Them finishing the year undefeated the rest of the way.
- 10:47Speaker 3: I don't like those odds.
- 10:49Speaker 2: I don't like it, but it's not impossible.
- 10:51Speaker 3: It's not impossible. I just don't like the odds.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Well, and let's be fair too. We're, we're probably somewhat
- 10:56Speaker 1: moving the goalposts for Tennessee. We're probably, you know, day.
- 11:02Speaker 3: I don't think we consider them a college football playoff
- 11:04Speaker 3: team to start the year.
- 11:06Speaker 2: No.
- 11:07Speaker 1: And so when they got in position to maybe qualify,
- 11:10Speaker 1: with still a lot of tough games left, a road
- 11:11Speaker 1: trip to Willie B, a game against LSU, a tougher-than-we-expected
- 11:15Speaker 1: game against Kentucky, it is certainly a little bit tougher.
- 11:21Speaker 1: But we didn't have them as a playoff team anyway.
- 11:25Speaker 1: And so I think if Tennessee goes 9-3, none of
- 11:27Speaker 1: their fans want to hear that right now because you
- 11:31Speaker 1: did kind of think for a moment, kind of like
- 11:33Speaker 1: the Florida fans at 4-0. You did kind of think
- 11:36Speaker 1: for a moment, like, hey, we could make the playoff.
- 11:38Speaker 1: 9-3 is still a really good year.
- 11:40Speaker 3: For Tennessee this year.
- 11:41Speaker 1: All things considered, I know that we're not here for
- 11:44Speaker 1: moral victories, and you're not here, but I said from
- 11:47Speaker 1: the beginning of the year that Tennessee's year to make
- 11:50Speaker 1: a run was going to be next year.
- 11:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:53Speaker 3: The defense has played better than you thought.
- 11:55Speaker 1: You've gotten better quarterback play, I think, overall than maybe
- 11:59Speaker 1: you even expected because you knew what you were working with.
- 12:02Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 12:04Speaker 3: I don't know, man. I don't think Tennessee fans should
- 12:06Speaker 3: view 9-3 as a failure.
- 12:07Speaker 1: If they split with Kentucky and LSU and went out, then.
- 12:14Speaker 3: That's fine.
- 12:18Speaker 2: I mean, again, if you're 9-3, let's just say there's... Okay,
- 12:21Speaker 2: humor me. Let's say that there is a conundrum of
- 12:23Speaker 2: 9-3 teams in the SEC. And all these teams are
- 12:26Speaker 2: fighting for spots in the college football playoff because the
- 12:29Speaker 2: SEC is going to get several teams in because that's
- 12:32Speaker 2: just the way it is. Well, you have the head-to-head
- 12:34Speaker 2: over Alabama. Okay, well, you would have to be in
- 12:36Speaker 2: over Alabama, I think, in the committee's eyes. And you're
- 12:38Speaker 2: bringing up Brand to be able to get in over Alabama. Okay,
- 12:41Speaker 2: well what about a team like LSU? Do you beat LSU? Cool,
- 12:44Speaker 2: they're 9-3, you're 9-3, you probably are in over them.
- 12:47Speaker 2: So you're not dead at 9-3, but also let's just
- 12:49Speaker 2: be completely fair. This was a team that looking at
- 12:52Speaker 2: the start of the year, you had a green dot quarterback,
- 12:55Speaker 2: no idea what you were going to get in him.
- 12:57Speaker 2: A new defensive coordinator with a bunch of new pieces
- 12:59Speaker 2: that we're all trying to gel together. Your star safety
- 13:02Speaker 2: Jaleel Farouk gets hurt at the start of the season
- 13:04Speaker 2: and is out before game number one. And you still
- 13:07Speaker 2: find a way to get a massive win against Alabama
- 13:10Speaker 2: in third Saturday. You still finish as a top 15 team.
- 13:14Speaker 2: We view you as a viable playoff threat even after
- 13:17Speaker 2: losing to South Carolina. And you probably get another signature
- 13:20Speaker 2: win against a top-ranked opponent, whether that be LSU or Kentucky.
- 13:24Speaker 2: It's not a bad year. It's just that we're not
- 13:26Speaker 2: going to the playoff and winning a national title for
- 13:28Speaker 2: the first time since 1998 year. That's all it is.
- 13:31Speaker 2: That's all it is. And I'm in full agreement with TJ.
- 13:34Speaker 2: You got some young talent that's still in the building.
- 13:36Speaker 2: You got some veteran talent that will be coming on
- 13:38Speaker 2: back next year. You're going to have a much more
- 13:40Speaker 2: stable veteran quarterback, whoever is your guy long term. You're
- 13:44Speaker 2: going to be able to spend money in the portal
- 13:46Speaker 2: because you always spend money in the portal. It'll be
- 13:48Speaker 2: another year with Jim Knowles as your defense coordinator. A
- 13:50Speaker 2: lot of things that you want to see moving forward
- 13:53Speaker 2: are really promising in Knoxville. But this was a game
- 13:55Speaker 2: that everyone that circled said it is possible that you
- 13:59Speaker 2: find a way to let it up here. And you did.
- 14:01Speaker 2: And I understand. Officiating is bad. I want to preface
- 14:04Speaker 2: this before we go any further. I know officiating sucks
- 14:07Speaker 2: in the SEC. It has been downright disgusting this year.
- 14:12Speaker 2: I'm not blaming that on the reason why you lost.
- 14:15Speaker 3: I'm not.
- 14:16Speaker 2: There's too many other plays that I can look at
- 14:17Speaker 2: and point and say, that was a big problem, that
- 14:19Speaker 2: was a big problem, that was a big problem, and
- 14:21Speaker 2: you shot yourself in the foot. That's just it, guys.
- 14:24Speaker 2: I'm sorry.
- 14:26Speaker 1: You had a chance to have kind of a remarkable
- 14:28Speaker 1: season out of nowhere. That probably would have included going
- 14:31Speaker 1: to the playoff, winning one game.
- 14:33Speaker 3: And it's still there.
- 14:34Speaker 1: It's still there. They can still do it, right? But
- 14:38Speaker 1: what does Tennessee going to the playoff mean?
- 14:41Speaker 2: Probably a first-round exit. And depending on the matchup, maybe.
- 14:45Speaker 2: Your defense keeps it a low-scoring affair. Deshaun Bishop, you
- 14:48Speaker 2: can trust the run game. You win that one and
- 14:50Speaker 2: then lose in the next round.
- 14:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 14:52Speaker 1: At best, you're going on the road and beating somebody.
- 14:55Speaker 1: from the big 12, you know, best case, but like,
- 14:58Speaker 1: I don't know. Do you really want to go on
- 15:00Speaker 1: the road and play big 12 version of Tennessee and BYU?
- 15:03Speaker 1: I mean, that'd be a fun guy. I mean, that'd
- 15:04Speaker 1: be a hell of a game. I can't say that
- 15:06Speaker 1: with BYU. That's an honor code violation, but that'd be
- 15:08Speaker 1: a heck of a game. But yeah, like, I mean,
- 15:11Speaker 1: I don't know, man. Like, I don't think you're, nothing's
- 15:14Speaker 1: going to be too different. Now it's fun to go
- 15:16Speaker 1: to the playoff and I don't think they'd get embarrassed
- 15:18Speaker 1: the way they did against Ohio state, but they certainly could.
- 15:20Speaker 1: If they ran into Miami in the second round, wouldn't
- 15:22Speaker 1: be fun. Um, South Carolina, how are, obviously they've already
- 15:25Speaker 1: got the three L's right. So they're not, or no,
- 15:28Speaker 1: they're five and two, right?
- 15:29Speaker 2: No, they have three L's. Yeah. Lonely to Mississippi state, lonely.
- 15:34Speaker 3: To Kentucky blow out against Alabama.
- 15:36Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah.
- 15:37Speaker 3: So there's seasons. I, I hate that.
- 15:40Speaker 1: We have this mindset of is just like, Oh, you're
- 15:42Speaker 1: gonna be able to play up, but they've expanded it.
- 15:43Speaker 1: And so that's what we have.
- 15:45Speaker 3: But, um, can they play, can they continue to play spoiler?
- 15:47Speaker 3: Have they figured it out?
- 15:48Speaker 2: Cole? Yeah, I think so. You know, what's funny is,
- 15:51Speaker 2: and I'm a sex and buddy of mine. That's big, big, big, big,
- 15:53Speaker 2: big South Carolina fan. And he made it pretty evident.
- 15:57Speaker 2: And I looked back and I'm like, you're not wrong.
- 15:59Speaker 2: South Carolina by like the middle of October, every even
- 16:04Speaker 2: year just starts clicking. Something just starts going off defensively.
- 16:08Speaker 2: They start playing sound, uh, offensively they get into a groove,
- 16:12Speaker 2: they start figuring out what is the identity of their team,
- 16:14Speaker 2: and they end up rattling off a couple of really
- 16:17Speaker 2: monumental wins that gets them ranked and gets them in
- 16:20Speaker 2: the conversation about being the spoiler or, hey, if we
- 16:23Speaker 2: were to have a 9-3 team in, like 2024, they
- 16:26Speaker 2: have the game against LSU, they blow the lead, but
- 16:29Speaker 2: then you have the pick six by Nicky Minwari called back,
- 16:32Speaker 2: and that's ultimately the reason why they didn't make the playoff.
- 16:34Speaker 2: And same thing for the Alabama game where they come back,
- 16:37Speaker 2: but they don't get into the end zone late. They
- 16:40Speaker 2: beat Texas A & M and they beat Missouri and
- 16:42Speaker 2: they're 9-3 at the end of the year. And it's
- 16:44Speaker 2: like they did enough to warrant conversation. It's just too
- 16:48Speaker 2: little too late. But you look at what they have
- 16:50Speaker 2: still on the horizon. Texas A & M loses when
- 16:53Speaker 2: they go to Columbia. Or at least they have in
- 16:55Speaker 2: the last several years. The bottom trophy when it's played
- 16:58Speaker 2: in Columbia, South Carolina at Willie B goes to South Carolina.
- 17:01Speaker 2: So you chalk that up potentially as a win. You
- 17:03Speaker 2: talk about potentially Oklahoma this week. Oklahoma really doesn't have
- 17:07Speaker 2: a college football playoff berth to play for, but 9-3
- 17:09Speaker 2: does a hell of a job of saving what is
- 17:12Speaker 2: most of this coaching staff. So winning that game would
- 17:14Speaker 2: be really important. But then you have Arkansas. You should
- 17:17Speaker 2: win that one, even though it's on the road. Clemson
- 17:19Speaker 2: right now. There's rumors that potentially you're getting rid of what's-his-name.
- 17:26Speaker 2: Why am I blanking on the office coordinator? Chad Morris. Yeah,
- 17:28Speaker 2: Chad Morris, because apparently Dabo called plays in the second half.
- 17:32Speaker 2: I trust you to win that one. And so really,
- 17:34Speaker 2: it comes down to the Georgia game. And if you
- 17:36Speaker 2: go 9-3 this year, what a response from a team
- 17:39Speaker 2: that we all wrote off as dead. Like, I saw
- 17:42Speaker 2: earlier a video, I mean a tweet. I'm trying to
- 17:45Speaker 2: remember who posted it. I think it was Brad Crawford.
- 17:49Speaker 2: But it was like Shane Beamer when his job is
- 17:51Speaker 2: on the line. And it's Nick Saban. And it's like, yeah,
- 17:54Speaker 2: kind of. Kind of. You play sound. You win. You
- 17:58Speaker 2: find a way to get a new contract extension. You
- 18:00Speaker 2: know who it's more so like for me? Marvin Lewis.
- 18:03Speaker 2: Like Marvin Lewis would be like on a losing skin.
- 18:06Speaker 2: It's like, all right, guys. He's going to be fired
- 18:07Speaker 2: in Cincinnati. Wait a minute. How about we go to
- 18:10Speaker 2: the playoffs? We don't win the game, but we go
- 18:11Speaker 2: to the playoffs. Cool. Contract extension. That's like Shane Beamer. Like,
- 18:16Speaker 2: I think he's the right guy for the job, and
- 18:18Speaker 2: I don't know if you can get better than him there.
- 18:20Speaker 2: And he does a good job. It's just the thing
- 18:23Speaker 2: that really hurts them is Shane Beamer and this ineptitude
- 18:26Speaker 2: early on in the season before they find a rhythm. Like,
- 18:29Speaker 2: that's what it comes down to.
