- 0:00Speaker 1: The Mark Simone Show, live from the WOR LifeVac studios. Hey,
- 0:07Speaker 1: well let's take some calls. Let's go to Dave in Chicago. Dave,
- 0:11Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 0:13Speaker 2: Good morning, Mark.
- 0:14Speaker 3: I'm feeling a little under the weather, but it's good
- 0:16Speaker 3: to speak with you again.
- 0:18Speaker 1: Second caller today with a cold. Too many of these
- 0:20Speaker 1: going around. Go ahead, Dave. Thank you, sir.
- 0:24Speaker 3: It was mentioned a little earlier in the broadcast that
- 0:27Speaker 3: Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker lost 80 pounds. What I don't
- 0:31Speaker 3: understand with these shots to lose weight is, are you
- 0:35Speaker 3: a slave to these shots? What happened to diet and exercise?
- 0:39Speaker 3: And finally, Mark, to wrap it up, didn't Bill Clinton
- 0:42Speaker 3: at the beginning of his first term say, visit mcdonald's
- 0:45Speaker 3: every day he was quite heavy but he lost the
- 0:48Speaker 3: weight through just simple.
- 0:49Speaker 1: Exercise uh yeah that's a good question clinton had some
- 0:53Speaker 1: very serious uh health problems yeah he was a big
- 0:56Speaker 1: mcdonald's french fries and he was it was kind of
- 0:59Speaker 1: a pudgy guy uh even though memory is always jogging
- 1:01Speaker 1: his first term yet still pudgy but then uh in
- 1:05Speaker 1: later years he had tremendous heart trouble and uh you
- 1:10Speaker 1: remember he had heart surgery and it didn't go too
- 1:12Speaker 1: well they had to like bring him back and The
- 1:15Speaker 1: surgeon apparently choked. You know, you think, well, if you're
- 1:19Speaker 1: the biggest name in the world, you're going to get
- 1:20Speaker 1: the finest doctor. Yeah, but you don't realize they can
- 1:22Speaker 1: get nervous. The guy choked a little. So they had
- 1:25Speaker 1: to clean up some scarring in there. Now, he had
- 1:31Speaker 1: a problem. It's medical stuff where it runs in his family, apparently,
- 1:36Speaker 1: where the cholesterol just goes totally out of control. So
- 1:39Speaker 1: that's why in recent years, he eats basically just salads
- 1:42Speaker 1: and plants and green stuff and that's about it. So
- 1:47Speaker 1: that helped him lose a lot of weight. Let's go
- 1:50Speaker 1: to Harry in New Jersey. Harry, how you doing?
- 1:53Speaker 2: Thanks, Mark. Thanks for taking my call. I agree with
- 1:57Speaker 2: you about 98% of the time, maybe 99. But one thing,
- 2:02Speaker 2: you keep on wanting New York to come back. They
- 2:05Speaker 2: voted for Chuck Schumer, Hakeem Jeffries.
- 2:07Speaker 1: What are you talking about? I don't know what you're
- 2:09Speaker 1: talking about.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Well, you always seem to want Which is you want
- 2:14Speaker 2: New York to come back.
- 2:15Speaker 1: It didn't leave. It's still here. New York is here.
- 2:17Speaker 1: What do you mean?
- 2:18Speaker 2: No, I know. But they voted for Chuck Schumer, Hakeem Jeffries,
- 2:23Speaker 2: Kathy Hochul, Andrew Cuomo, Bill de Blasio, Mondani.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Yeah, we know all this. We know all this. What
- 2:29Speaker 1: are you trying to say?
- 2:30Speaker 4: What?
- 2:31Speaker 2: Well, I'm just trying to say when you want to
- 2:33Speaker 2: see Manhattan sink into the Hudson River. All right.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Thanks for calling. Does anybody know what he was talking about?
- 2:40Speaker 1: Let's go to Richard in Bayshore. Richard, how are you doing?
- 2:44Speaker 2: Good morning, Mark.
- 2:45Speaker 5: Listen, I wanted to correct an earlier caller. In lower
- 2:49Speaker 5: Manhattan around Water Street in the 1830s and 1840s, there
- 2:53Speaker 5: was a neighborhood called Corlears Hook, which was a red
- 2:56Speaker 5: light district. All the sailors went there for prostitutes. And
- 3:00Speaker 5: it was very dangerous. It was like the Five Points
- 3:02Speaker 5: from the Gangs of New York movie.
- 3:04Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 3:06Speaker 5: But, you know, earlier in the 19th century. So Fighting
- 3:11Speaker 5: Joe Hooker was a Union general who drank and womanized,
- 3:14Speaker 5: but that's largely an urban legend. He didn't have... Oh, okay, so.
- 3:19Speaker 1: They call them hookers not because of General Hooker, but
- 3:21Speaker 1: because of this area called The Hook. Yeah, yeah, it.
- 3:25Speaker 5: Was based on the geographic shape. It was a Dutchman
- 3:29Speaker 5: named Corlier owned it in the 1600s, and it's probably
- 3:34Speaker 5: down around South Street Seaport, up to Grand Street.
- 3:37Speaker 1: Oh, all right. Well, all right. That's good. I think
- 3:40Speaker 1: your story is probably the correct one. It makes more
- 3:42Speaker 1: sense that way. But this came up because you can't
- 3:46Speaker 1: get a hooker right now in New York City. The
- 3:48Speaker 1: UN General Assembly week is like the Super Bowl for hookers.
- 3:51Speaker 1: It's their biggest week. They come in from all over
- 3:54Speaker 1: the world for this to take care of these UN
- 3:56Speaker 1: General Assembly idiots. So there's no hookers left, and they're
- 4:01Speaker 1: not available. Sorry, all you guys out there. You're going
- 4:03Speaker 1: to have to wait until next week. Let's go to–
- 4:06Speaker 1: what's the name here? Is it Kalman? Kalman, how are
- 4:08Speaker 1: you doing?
- 4:11Speaker 4: I'm doing very well. I need about 10 minutes. I'm
- 4:16Speaker 4: very frustrated because Trump, unless God intervenes, which he has
- 4:20Speaker 4: done before, has no chance.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Slow down. Calm down. What's the matter, Kalman? Calm down.
- 4:25Speaker 1: What are you upset about?
- 4:27Speaker 4: Oh, I'm upset the way the campaign is going and
- 4:29Speaker 4: he has no chance. The president campaigned for Congress in 2016.
- 4:36Speaker 4: Let me just give you a little background. I was
- 4:39Speaker 4: advisor to Mario Cuomo.
- 4:42Speaker 1: Well, I didn't.
- 4:44Speaker 4: Know how to live with it.
- 4:45Speaker 1: I was advisor to Elliot. Calm down. The current polling.
- 4:49Speaker 1: I'm not talking about the public polls.
- 4:50Speaker 4: Forget about the current poll.
- 4:52Speaker 1: Thanks for calling. The public polling looks very bad. The
- 5:00Speaker 1: real polling, the accurate stuff, the internal polling. Looks pretty good.
- 5:04Speaker 1: It doesn't look so bad. We had the best pollster
- 5:06Speaker 1: in the world on yesterday. I'm talking about real polls,
- 5:09Speaker 1: not the fake public polls. As he said, it's pretty
- 5:11Speaker 1: much close in most states, but he's pretty confident. And
- 5:16Speaker 1: he explained the public polls aren't real. They're all rigged.
- 5:21Speaker 1: They put Republicans at 23 percent in the sample instead
- 5:24Speaker 1: of 38 percent like they should be. They don't use
- 5:28Speaker 1: likely voters. They use whoever the hell they want. They
- 5:30Speaker 1: don't use the right demos. This is all done deliberately.
- 5:33Speaker 1: It's all to suppress Republican vote. It's all to get
- 5:36Speaker 1: guys like this all panicky and pessimistic. But in the
- 5:40Speaker 1: real polls, it looks pretty good. Now, whatever the current
- 5:44Speaker 1: state is doesn't matter because it's what's going to happen
- 5:46Speaker 1: in the next month. Republicans have $ 250 million cash to
- 5:49Speaker 1: spend on this. RNC, $ 250 million. The Democrats have $ 8
- 5:51Speaker 1: million to spend on this, so. If you want to
- 6:01Speaker 1: go to a place like Iowa and change the race,
- 6:02Speaker 1: all you got to do is send $ 10 million there,
- 6:04Speaker 1: blitz it with ads. It can change things. Democrats don't
- 6:08Speaker 1: have any money. They can't do that kind of stuff. Hey,
- 6:11Speaker 1: when we come back, we'll talk to Bill O'Reilly. Lots
- 6:14Speaker 1: to talk to him about. Coming up, it's Mark Simone here.
- 6:17Speaker 1: Nine to noon every day. Three hours now. Nine to
- 6:20Speaker 1: noon every day on 710WOR. Facebook.
