- 0:36Hello, one and all to another episode of Because Fuck You That's Why,
- 0:43Episode number one six zero. I'm your host Pants Zarin and this is
- 0:49another music spectacular episode. Ray. Yes, we had so much fun the
- 0:58last time we had Russ and Lauren on that we had to bring them back
- 1:02and do it again. Uh so with us? Uh from the Infectious Groove
- 1:07podcast is Russ Say, Russ, how's it going? Hello? Hello,
- 1:12wonderful overall. I told y'all when I came on air, I was having
- 1:17grandpa technology problems with social media. But I'm good now. It's delightful.
- 1:22It's delightful. Um, I mean, it's awful what happened. I'm glad
- 1:26you got it resolved, is what I was also adorable because he said grandpa
- 1:32issues. That's that's a little because we're similar. Literally, it couldn't be
- 1:38more of an old man thing. Like first of all, the story,
- 1:41I took a nap. Literally when I woke up, everybody in the world
- 1:48got at me like I assume I used to make fun of like my aunts
- 1:51and their friends, you know, and they're like, it's there's somebody your
- 1:53Facebook is there's something wrong with your Facebook, and I'm like no, and
- 1:57I glog in and I'm like, oh oh no, oh no, get
- 2:00get my cheaters. I got to look at this. There's a problem with
- 2:02the facebooks, you know, so whatever. But now you know, a
- 2:07mere fifteen minutes after I woke up from the nap in the social media,
- 2:10I'm having a beard hanging out with you guys. So things have taken a
- 2:14significant upswing. Yeah, he keeps going that way. And of course a
- 2:22host of the beard Al podcast, it's Lauren, Oh, hello, Hi,
- 2:30Hi, how are you doing? Are you? Woman next to Grandpa
- 2:34on the couch being like okay, no, not click here yea. I
- 2:38was also getting text messages like what happened to Russa's Facebook? Did he block
- 2:42me? What did I do? Did I make him mad? Did he
- 2:45rage my Facebook? I'm like no, and I was like, I can't
- 2:46fix it right now because he's taking a nap. Wake him up for this.
- 2:54Wake up your Facebook. You have no idea your Facebook. Facebook.
- 3:00The world is melting, the world is completely melting. I did want to
- 3:05make sure that I remembered to Mension, and I might as well do it
- 3:07at the beginning, because otherwise I'll forget that this is the first podcast of
- 3:12at all that Russ and I are recording together since we got married. Really
- 3:16wow, fitness. Yeah, I'm sorry, honored, Yes, we should
- 3:23be the first ones to say, Aggie, I'm sorry. Is not the
- 3:25appropriate response. What's he's saying sorry to being on our show? Are being
- 3:30married? That we were the first, Aggie appears to think you were dipping
- 3:37into the bottom of the barrel there when look, we got to cover all
- 3:40aspects. No, no, no, it's it's an honor and I'm thrilled
- 3:45and it's so so happy the two of you. Hell yes, congratulatures by
- 3:50the way. Yes, um, anyway, I should also introduce these idiots
- 3:58that's right on the apps its side of the table, as it were.
- 4:01Uh, he's a gamer and a storyteller, and he's my well he was
- 4:04my youngest friend. Now he's just a friend. It's you could just say
- 4:10my friend, just say my friend. Can you can you do that for
- 4:13me to say my friend? Nope, just a friend. God damn,
- 4:19I'm afraid you're just gonna have to live with that. I'd ask how what's
- 4:23going? But I feel like, I know, yeah, going, it's
- 4:28going. Yeah, it's good's gone, it's about to be gone, all
- 4:31right. And uh he's a veteran and a podcaster, and as it turns
- 4:35out, a veteran podcaster. It's see me. What is up everybody?
- 4:40How y'all going on? Stevie, Man, I'm in a good mood.
- 4:44Yeah, yeah, dude, the sun's out stuff. We're starting to get
- 4:46not freezing weather and it's kind of nice. So nice StEB to be like,
- 4:49I'm in a good mood. I woke up. I had across his
- 4:51Facebook, got a lot of jokes on their Holy crap, man, I
- 4:58fight off a good forty of them before I logged out. This is spammed
- 5:00everybody with penis and largement ads. Um okay. So I always like to
- 5:05do introductions with the question, we've kind of gone a little off the rails
- 5:09here, but that's fine. Um. So. I guess the question that
- 5:13I would ask, I think that's appropriate, at least from my experience lately,
- 5:17would be, is there a band or perhaps a genre of music that
- 5:23you used to enjoy um and then you kind of forgot about, and then
- 5:28you rediscovered and enjoyed all over again. I say, hated after that,
- 5:31like, is there anybody can go but russy, you look like you had
- 5:36an idea in your head. Yeah, I pretty much all of two thousand
- 5:42and ten to like twenty and twenty absolutely destroyed the country shinreth for me.
- 5:46Oh yeah, yeah, I get that. Like I grew up on my
- 5:50folks listen to everything in the seventies, and I liked a lot of what
- 5:54I heard in the eighties, and I sure as hell liked a lot of
- 5:56what I heard in the nineties, and then like somewhere around like I don't
- 5:59know, two thousand five twenty ten, everything in country became about like blow
- 6:02jobs instead of like you know what about here. We actually on our show
- 6:08we call that whole era of country blowjob country. But love going into fantasy
- 6:14so much that'll makes sense now. Yeah. But then like as of late,
- 6:19like people like Sturgill Simpson, Like I'm not even a huge fan of
- 6:23Chris Stapleton, but I like that like what he does brings like more and
- 6:27better real country music back, and it just seems to me that there's like
- 6:30a lot better, more like what I like in country coming back now.
- 6:33So like there was easy a decade where I thought, I was like,
- 6:36Okay, well it was a fun ride country music, you know, but
- 6:39like I guess we're done now. Yeah, but now it seems like it's
- 6:43coming back. At least at least there seems to me that there's more like
- 6:46real and good artists coming up now. So yeah, for sure for me,
- 6:48that would be my answer. Very cool, Lauren, do you have
- 6:53an answer? I do have an answer, And before Russ answered, I
- 6:56was totally going to say country music, but I feel like I can't do
- 6:59that now, so I'm not going to do that artist maybe yeah. So
- 7:04for me, honestly, it's like the pop music that was out when I
- 7:06was in like high school and college because at the time, like all my
- 7:11friends were in it and I had to be like contrarian and I was like,
- 7:14yeah, but they're not the Beatles though, And like now I can
- 7:16go back and listen to the stuff that was popular and then and be like,
- 7:19yo, you know what, this is catchy as fuck. And sometimes,
- 7:24like if I'm like stressed or whatever, I will turn on just like
- 7:26pop music from like two thousand to like two thousand and eight and just be
- 7:30like, yeah, I get why people liked this and why did it.
- 7:32I not give in at the time. Yeah, right, It's very there's
- 7:36something about it. It's very joyous a lot of the time with pop music,
- 7:41especially from that era, that I really enjoy. Stevie or Auggie,
- 7:46would either one of you like to go, it doesn't matter yeah for me.
- 7:48I actually I was going to say country as well, which is funny
- 7:51as hell that Russ and then Lauren both of all in this route. So
- 7:55I'm actually gonna go a specific artist to why I started getting back into again,
- 7:58and it's Shania Twain. Like I was a huge, huge fan of
- 8:03hers before she started getting big, like back when her boots are under somebody
- 8:07else's bed and shit, Like who's betting your boots been under you know,
- 8:09like back in the day. Like I loved her ship all the way up
- 8:13until she straight up just stopped because of all the issues that were going on.
- 8:18And then getting her new album that came out that like reinvigorated everything I
- 8:22started. I watched your documentary on Netflix and shit, and like I started
- 8:26really getting back into it again, Like I listened to that fucking new album
- 8:30like ten times in two days. And I don't I'm not a music person,
- 8:33like at all. I just started getting into it and I was like,
- 8:37fuck and her voice now, holy fuck, it's got that raspiness and
- 8:41damn. Oh I fucking loved it. Okay, yeah, it's it's amazing.
- 8:45Oh I'm getting chills. Very good, very good. Last you got
- 8:50an answer for me? Yeah, Glamour Rock. Yeah, yes, like
- 8:58Peacemaker really like they're they're intro, Like we jammed out to that shit every
- 9:05single time. It got it so into lamar rock for a good, good,
- 9:09long while, and yeah it was. It's it's uplifting, just just
- 9:13rock and music. It's just really fun. That's fair. That's fair.
- 9:18Um as for me, like a lot of times, like I'll listen to
- 9:22like video game music when i'm writing because it has no lyrics and thus it
- 9:26doesn't poison my brain with other words. I guess, I don't know.
- 9:31I just appreciate having something with no lyrics but also provides a mood. Um
- 9:35and uh. When I'm not listening to that, I'm listening to the podcasts
- 9:39usually, But lately I've been getting back into Megadeth. I used to listen
- 9:45to a good chunk of Megadeth back when I was in high school. Yeah,
- 9:48and then in college just kind of phased out, and I haven't really
- 9:50I've dipped my toes back in the waters every now and then, but like
- 9:54I swear to God, like this past week, I think I've listened to
- 9:56more Megadeth than I have, And like the entire time leading up to now,
- 10:01like awesome just just kind of just kind of dug into everything. You
- 10:05know, Hanger eighteen, sweating bullets, symphony destruction, count down to extinction
- 10:13right now? Man, like can be so happier? All right, Well,
- 10:20in any event, shall we play some games? That's what we're all
- 10:22here for. We're here to play some games. It's a panel show inspired
- 10:26podcast. We're gonna play three silly games. Whichever team has the most points
- 10:31at the end of the episode wins and gets a sense of um unearned joy.
- 10:37I guess maybe possibly under one, but you don't her. You gain
- 10:43a nerd level. That's what happens. Good for you. Uh. We
- 10:48decided before the show to do it like we've been doing lately, to have
- 10:52our two guests face off against the dream Team here Stevie and Augie. UM,
- 10:58and we'll see how it goes. UM. It's been pretty much universal
- 11:03with the guests win, but we'll see how that goes this time. As
- 11:09as both of your shows are magic themed, sorry magic music themed, that
- 11:13would have been freaking amazing if you guys did podcasts on magic like close Hands.
- 11:16Oh my god, I completely like like a close magic podcast, but
- 11:22you don't explain what's going on in somebody my car, say we do it?
- 11:31What can we call it? All right? As your podcast first already
- 11:35happened or else, I would have absolutely made of our show like that was
- 11:39that, and then people would have had to listen to this to get that
- 11:43joke. Alright, let me try that again. As both of your podcasts
- 11:50are music themed, all of these games have a music theme, and we're
- 11:54gonna start with game one, which I've decided to call key Change. I'm
- 11:58getting of each player their own prompt, which is a famous song title with
- 12:03the key word taken out, and there will just be a blank. However,
- 12:07I don't want you to tell me what word is missing. I want
- 12:11you to fill in that blank with something else and tell me what your new
- 12:15song is about. If you make me laugh, your team gets a point.
- 12:20The team with the most points after everybody has three prompts wins and earns
- 12:24one episode point. So I guess we're gonna get started. As you're the
- 12:30guests, you may make the choice. Would you like to go first or
- 12:33second? I say we go a second. Okay, we'll go second,
- 12:37You go second, all right, So Stevie Augie, your first prompt knocking
- 12:43on blank store, knocking on blank store. Stebs, saw that look on
- 12:58your face. I know what it means. Knocket on Sarah Michelle Geller's door.
- 13:03Oh, it's it's it's this new project I have planned. It's a
- 13:07single man job. You just get a camera. It's it's gonna be amazing.
- 13:11It's it's it's a documentary. All right. Yeah, you squeezed it
- 13:13out of me. That was That was a laugh, And you do get
- 13:16a point. I appreciate that. Thank you. All right, we will
- 13:20switch over to Rust and Lauren. As you've seen, I did not explain,
- 13:24but you may confer and figure something out before you give your answer.
- 13:28Uh smells like teen blank once again. So a delightful look on Laurence.
- 13:41Know what that means? Sure, I want to say before she gives our
- 13:50answer. Earlier today we discussed whether or not we would be against each other
- 13:54on this or not, and when you had decided we're gonna be on the
- 13:58same team, which is great for me. Earlier I said, the only,
- 14:03uh, the only game that I'm really anxious about is the first one
- 14:07because of you know, changing the names and all that stuff. And she
- 14:09said to me out loud in public, Well, my answer is always just
- 14:13gonna be pooped. So yeah, we would like to officially make our our
- 14:30selection. Smells like teen poop. I mean laughed. I laughed very,
- 14:35very hard. So yeah, you're absolutely getting a point for that. Wow.
- 14:39How do we need to describe the song to you? Or do you
- 14:41understand what smells like Team pop would be? I think I have a feeling.
- 14:46I think I understand it. It involves a mom doing laundry. There's
- 14:56never enough detergent. Yeah, basically the option to the song. There's a
- 15:00bonus chance to get me to laugh if the title doesn't do it alone.
- 15:03Uh. In any event, let's move on to prompt number three, which
- 15:07goes back to Stevie and Aggie. Stevie and Aggie, your prompt is I
- 15:13can't get no blank. I can't get no blank. Oh man, I
- 15:22would advise going with something other than poop. I am hardening myself against it
- 15:28right now. That's fair. Fucked up part is I don't even know what
- 15:31the actual lyric is really. Oh yeah, you're young and the original.
- 15:37I still think you might have heard no satisfaction. Oh can't get no Oh
- 15:43okay, now in contact now it makes sense context context contact. Oh okay.
- 15:50Sorry, I can't get no blank. I can't get no reference.
- 16:00The song about what? I have no idea, what the fuck you're talking
- 16:03about? Nope? Nothing? Sorry? Good try a no points for you.
- 16:12Let's move on to prompt number four, which goes back to rust and
- 16:15Lauren. Oh, I was gonna say, you really just should have gone
- 16:18with I can't get no erections like that. That's the answer. It would
- 16:23be a good one. The song the Sweet Song of Viagra. Okay,
- 16:27on too, Prompt number four, Sweet blank, oh Mine. Lauren immediately
- 16:37starts laughing, sweet blank oh mine. M hmm. We uh but there,
- 16:47that would be funny. This is harder than I thought it would be
- 16:52without poop. See. I said I advised against it because I think I
- 17:00might be able to resist. But it doesn't mean it well, doesn't mean
- 17:03you can't still do it. I mean we could go with a variant diarrhea
- 17:08oh mine. Yeah, we're going to go with sweet diarrhea. It's close
- 17:17to poop and it's a song. It's a song about a man who has
- 17:19severe diarrhea but he finds it. It's actually delicious. I was doing so
- 17:30well until yeah, when she started, I was like, oh, I
- 17:34don't think she's going to pull this off. And then yep, oh man,
- 17:37I did laugh, kind of just out of sheer surprise. Uh yeah,
- 17:44I'm giving you the point. Please don't talk about it anymore. Let's
- 17:48move on. It's two points to one in favor of Russ and Lauren.
- 17:52Uh. We're on prompt five for a Stevie and Aggie and this one is
- 17:56stairway too blank, stairway too blank in the stairway to the attic. He's
- 18:07gotta put all the Christmas shit away. He's gotta try your singing about going
- 18:11up the stairs to the addict to put all the shit away, to stair
- 18:15with the attic. Man, you don't know music, you don't know nothing.
- 18:21You don't know nothing, nothing, No laugh for you, no point
- 18:26for you. God dang, you gotta do better than that, man,
- 18:29Really, come on, you need better lyrics back to Russ and Lauren for
- 18:33prompt number six, Blank will Always love You, Blank will Always love You.
- 18:44M m hm oh sure. Stevie has an idea for this one.
- 18:52I know I had one for theirs too, and I'm wildly upset that I
- 18:56didn't get that much. What would it have been? It would have been
- 19:00Stairway to Kevin, and it would have been it was a theme song that
- 19:06would play specifically and home alone when they're coming up the stairway and they stepping
- 19:08on the nails would have been a point. But that's not They're prompt while
- 19:18while we were doing Shenanigan's Lauren has an answer for us, and I think
- 19:22it's pretty good to go for it. Pie will Always Love You, and
- 19:26it is a song based on that scene from American Pie where he fox the
- 19:30pie. It was consensual. It was I was playing with an with a
- 19:37weight loss pill commercial, like it'll just show a person looking also add at
- 19:41the fridge, like because they're all fat, you know, and then yeah,
- 19:45I love you too much. Yeah. It was genuinely really difficult,
- 19:52but I made it through without laughing. Some's tried. Now I'm really trying
- 19:57that that was genuinely difficult. Uh look, move on to prompt number seven.
- 20:03You're still ahead two points to one. Stevie and Aggie, there is
- 20:06your chance to catch up. Catch up Prompt number seven. Every blank you
- 20:10take, it's too good, though, I know where Lauren was going.
- 20:22Every depth, So every deput take, every depth? Okay, okay,
- 20:30have anything? You got anything? Because if not, I'm doing that one.
- 20:33Oh no, come on, use your brain, use your big brain.
- 20:41That's enough that I got every dep you take, so should it's a
- 20:47song about attempting to kidnap Johnny Depp. Every dep you take, Aaron Yep,
- 20:52I managed to get through that without laughing. I don't know how you're
- 20:56You're an ice cold man. I appeared to be the coming one because I
- 21:00started off laughing at everything, and now I'm just like shutting everything down.
- 21:03I know. I thought it was gonna be easy. It's got it's gotten
- 21:07harder. So let's go to prompt number eight, which is for Russ and
- 21:12Lauren. And this prompt is Papa's got a brand new blank. So we
- 21:18discussed it here a moment ago and I had two complete misfires that did not
- 21:22make Lauren laugh, and then she had one that made me laugh out loud.
- 21:25So that's what we're banking on, all right, and uh we are
- 21:29going with Papa's got a brand new colostope bag. Yes, god damn it.
- 21:40That's good. Oh it's still related to poop. They have a three
- 21:48points to one. It's not it's not what I wanted it. It is
- 21:59not two lowest common denominated. All right, Stevie and Ogg, you need
- 22:06this otherwise you can't catch up. Take her fart, let's go. Why
- 22:11do fools fall in blank? Why do fools fall in blank? Would work?
- 22:19This one? Nothing rhymes good of love? Fools fall in tubs?
- 22:33Why fools fallen tubs? It's a song about the importance of having one of
- 22:40those like standing in shower, one of those grips you don't hurt yourself.
- 22:48Oh man, Yeah, I didn't want to laugh, but yeah you got
- 22:52me, You got me good white fools fall in tubs? Uh so that's
- 22:59another point for Avian Augie freed it too. Oh thank god. This is
- 23:03prompt number ten. There are only twelve of these, so if Ross and
- 23:07Lauren get a point on this one, the game is over and they have
- 23:10won. Uh. Ross and Lauren, your next prompt is hotel blank,
- 23:21Hotel blank. Hmmm, we're thinking is probably the rumbling here? Yeah,
- 23:33yeah, jeez, there's not much you can do with that. It's just
- 23:41kind of like the hotel and then in certain name and right, um right,
- 23:49that's all you can do hotel an insertain name. But that that the
- 23:53question is what name do you insert? I wish I knew something about Arizona
- 23:59right now. I do too, because then you know it's a lot like
- 24:03California, just with more racists, right right, Aliens, would you want
- 24:08to do that then Arizona and just you know, okay, we're going with
- 24:15Hotel Arizona and whatever. Lauren just mouthed to me, Yeah, we're going
- 24:18with Hotel Arizona. And the only items that exist in Hotel Arizona are Arizona
- 24:26iced teas, and that's what drives the people crazy there, because there's just
- 24:30so much sugar in those things. I held my nerves somehow. If you
- 24:38had gone with the racist angle, that might have gotten the drink Arizona iced
- 24:44tea only. Uh no point, Laurens Stevian Aggie can still tie this up.
- 24:52I wanted hotel. Honestly, I was thinking like hotel Wyoming? What
- 25:00an empty place? Yes? Yes, all right? Uh? Ste and
- 25:07Augy? Uh your last prompt? Do you need this to tie? Tie?
- 25:14Great balls of blank? Great balls of blank? Yeah? Anything?
- 25:26I mean? This is a layoup, is it? It feels like a
- 25:30layup, really like a layup from what come on? Yeah? So right?
- 25:37Great balls of meat ball? What meat ball? Is this your recipe?
- 25:45Song recipe for meat balls? You put meat and then you put the
- 25:52balls. What the fuck? Did I not eating yours together? Saucy?
- 26:02I smiled, but I didn't break no points to Stevie and Aggie, which
- 26:08means Russ and Lauren are our winners. Last prompt the last Your last prompt
- 26:19would have been don't stop blank pop? Yeah, yeah, I knew you
- 26:25were going to go there. I knew you stop pooping. I wanted to
- 26:30go off poop. But yeah, great balls of mine? All right?
- 26:40Well, uh so with that, and Russ and Lauren have taken the first
- 26:44episode point. It is one to zero in favor of their team, but
- 26:48anything could happen. We're gonna play game two when we come back from the
- 26:51break, and that game is gonna be worth two points, and we're gonna
- 26:53play that right after this Once upon a time boring. It was the best
- 27:07of times, it was the worst. You got that right? What's your
- 27:11problem? We want new stories. Hi, It's Frankie and Garrett and we

- 28:22all time. Okay, so I want each player to pick a venue and
- 28:26select three bands to play one hour sets each, and the final band's encore
- 28:33will feature a surprise special guest singer of your choice. The best concert overall
- 28:40wins two points for their team. Oh and to minimize any pandering to my
- 28:45specific tastes, Rush and weird Al are both off the table. Sorry,
- 28:48Lauren, it's just the way it is, just to be fair to everybody.
- 28:55So yeah, A Russ and Lauren one the first game. So Steve
- 29:00and Aggie, I'm gonna give you guys the choice. Do you want to
- 29:02go first or second? Oh? I think we're gonna go first. Bob,
- 29:04Okay, that's not my name, Game Show. I'm genuinely offended you
- 29:12called me by a different name. All right, you're starting on the back
- 29:15foot, but we would like to give their concert pitch first, a name
- 29:21that starts with being no less to the second best letter. I can go
- 29:26first, pretty short and sweeten to the point. All right, what you
- 29:30got? So? I had help with this one because I kind of struggled.
- 29:34Apparently I don't really know music as well as I think I might think.
- 29:37Well, if you never heard I can't get no satisfaction by the Rolling
- 29:41Stones, yeah, i'd say that might be true. Pretty telling. Um,
- 29:45So I have this idea for this showing. Okay, but that was
- 29:49your whole job. Yep, I call it. I call it a troll
- 29:53through the early two thousands, a troll through ther So you open with Baltimore's
- 29:59Tarz and boy what one hour Baltimore Tarzan Boy, then you follow it with
- 30:08Ozones Dragostaya Dante, also known as the Numa Numa song, and then you
- 30:15close with the Rick Astley is never Gonna give You Up. However, there
- 30:19is a special guest that joins Rick Astley at the end, none other than
- 30:26Treucky Monster from Avenue Q. And then they do a mashup remix rendition of
- 30:33never Gonna give you up, never gonna give you up for porn, never
- 30:37gonna let you down for porn, never gonna run around and hurt you for
- 30:42porn. I have never hated a pitch more in my entire life. But
- 30:48you don't even know where it's going to be yet it doesn't matter. It's
- 30:52all within the Alleyway where David Bowie and McJagger film dancing in the streets.
- 31:00It's a's a great venue, incredibly irritating pitch. This sounded like uh Stefan
- 31:07from SNL. It was like it was a little bit there, Yeah,
- 31:11I have which is located in an abandoned adoption center. On Piecing it together
- 31:19was very mad libs piecing it together. I'm just like, I'm like,
- 31:22I don't actually know music is at all, and I'm like, I don't
- 31:26know what would be good or Okay, well i'll just do this then if
- 31:29I don't know it'd be good, I ranfying. Holy God, I gotta
- 31:37shake that one off. Steevie, please tell me you have a decent I'm
- 31:41the one that started. Gentlemen, ladies of the board, thank you very
- 31:45much for allowing me to present my idea for a new concert and the new
- 31:48venue we're gonna hold this concert. Yea, So we'll start with the venue.
- 31:52I think it's beautiful, especially for the acoustics. Tash mahal. Okay,
- 31:57that's interesting. Now the reasoning for this is the concert I want to
- 32:01throw. It's going to be a fairly chill build up. It's gonna start
- 32:07now. Just to be absolutely clear, because isn't exactly like a convention center
- 32:13doesn't have that kind of seating. Were you thinking like the courtyard of the
- 32:15time, right, you get the background, the scenery and all that,
- 32:17but you can still Okay, so now we're opening with Phil Collins and we're
- 32:24going to do an electric slice acoustic set. Okay, so I wanted to,
- 32:29you know, build up, you know, I want to get that
- 32:30good feelings. I want everybody in a good mood going through. So he
- 32:32does his set for his hour, right, cool enjoy Phil Collins. Fuck
- 32:37yeah, dude like dude's badass. Right from there, we bring a piano
- 32:39on stage. We get Billy Joel up in this bitch. So now now
- 32:43the juices are starting to flow, right, everybody knows all Billy Joel.
- 32:45Everybody's starting to get into it, singing, more into it and stuff,
- 32:49more of a community vibe when he's playing. Once he gets off stage,
- 32:53we cleared out a little bit. Whole band setup comes in. We're rocking
- 32:59the house. We're gonna we're gonna end this hard and fun. We're throwing
- 33:02a CDC up in this bitch. So we get a CDC up there where
- 33:07you go through their fucking main catalog right to bring on the special guest and
- 33:12who I think would be phenomenal for this song and a good portion of others,
- 33:16Jack Black doing Big Balls by a CDC. So they're playing the background.
- 33:22He's doing the fucking lead. I think that would be fucking phenomenal.
- 33:27He's got the range, he's got the fucking look. He's actually modeled a
- 33:30lot of his ship after a CDC. And on top of that, if
- 33:35you wanted to bring Phil back and Billy, they could do a huge thing
- 33:37at the end and it would work. It would actually work very well with
- 33:40all of them together. Well you got you got Jack Black as your special
- 33:45guest. Like, that's that's what was allowed. I'm honestly surprised you didn't
- 33:47go with back in Black. I mean those are gonna be more than one
- 33:52song. I mean big Balls is more comedic. I get that. Well,
- 33:55that in his range for is perfect for his character he always portrays.
- 33:59That's why I went with all right, that because him on stage of doing
- 34:02that song. It's him on stage. That's fair, that's fair. That
- 34:05would be a phenomenal concert and I would totally enjoy that. Well, if
- 34:07you want to go, man, I'm down, good pitch, And this
- 34:10is all theoretical. I don't actually have the money for that. Fuck do
- 34:15try so hard, I know, right, Sorry, all theoretical and imaginary,
- 34:21I should point out, But that's all right. So a good pitch
- 34:24from Stevie. Let's see if Russ or Lauren can come at me with a
- 34:29great one, which of the two of you would like to go first.
- 34:31I've been voted most likely to go first by my wife. It was pointed
- 34:37at Welcome Buried Life. Yeah, no kidding, Uh, this concert will
- 34:43occur at the Hollywood Bowl, Okay, and it will. It will be
- 34:46I'm very excited that before the episode we clarified that it was the people didn't
- 34:52have to be living because it will affect every single one of my acts in
- 34:54every way. So imagine this is an imaginary world where none of our hero
- 35:00went to the farm. Fairness. This is what this lineup is. So
- 35:05the band that will be opening the show will be Van Halen and they will
- 35:07play for twenty minutes with Gary Sharone on vocals. They'll play twenty minutes with
- 35:12David Lee Roth on vocals, and then they'll round things out with twenty minutes
- 35:15on with Sammy Hagar. Oh yeah, so you're welcome, and then after
- 35:22them, because this concert features a little bit of something for everybody, Ping
- 35:25Floyd will take the stage with Roger Waters and again, because Rick Wright has
- 35:30passed away, this is a world where Rick Right is still with us,
- 35:34but Ping Floyd will come out and play through a selection of their hits for
- 35:37an hour, and then the concert will be headlined by the person who I
- 35:40feel is the greatest, single, greatest entertainer in the history of the world,
- 35:45Michael Joseph Jackson will come out to perform for an hour, and then
- 35:47during the encore he will be joined by Prince for the worldwide premiere of the
- 35:52version of Bad that we were supposed to get in the first place, which
- 35:57featured Michael Jackson and Prince. And that's how the goodness the concert. Tickets
- 36:02for the show, I should mention, will be one bazillion dollars before ticket.
- 36:08But I think it's going toward a good cause, Russ's enjoyment for the
- 36:12furtherment of music. Yes, I love it. That's absolutely phenomenal, all
- 36:21right, I really really like that. That's gonna be h This is tough,
- 36:28Um, Laura can I started thinking about this not a moment after I
- 36:32got the As soon as you got it, you're like, oh my goodness.
- 36:37I literally sent a team's message at work yesterday to someone that said,
- 36:40hold on, I'm working on something else, and this is what I was
- 36:43referring to. That's great, that's phenomenal. Uh, Lauren, can you
- 36:52make my decision any easier? Police? Do you have a pitch? I
- 36:55don't know, but my desert will take place at Red Rock for the acoustics
- 37:00and the beauty and the fact that it's gonna be great. And my concert
- 37:07opens with a yacht rock review with the likes of you know, the Little
- 37:12River Band, Hall and Oates, Toto, all of those guys. They
- 37:15come out and do like one or two songs apiece, so you kind of
- 37:17get like the whole magical yacht rocky feeling. And then as you're finally like
- 37:22settling into like that late seventies early eighties vibe, outcomes Steven Knicks and Steven
- 37:28Knicks not just Steven Knicks by herself, Nay, no, no, it's
- 37:30Stevie Nicks with a full orchestra at Red Rocks, and you hear the most
- 37:35tear jerking version of Landslide that you have ever experienced in your entire life.
- 37:42And then of course she closes with an ass kicking version of Edge Edge of
- 37:45seventeen right, and then once you feel like you can no longer experience any
- 37:51like higher form of entertainment. Outcomes Dodger Stadium, nineteen seventy six, Glitter
- 37:59Baseball. I'll outfit Elton John to basically just like rock your socks off,
- 38:05and then while he's doing, um, Saturday Saturday nights all right for fighting,
- 38:09outcomes Lady Gaga to completely like do dueling piano shit with Elton John at
- 38:15the end, and then um, you know that's that's how it's gonna go.
- 38:21Okay, damn U three very good pitches and augies. I mean it
- 38:30was it was literally a troll. The whole thing was a troll. Um,
- 38:35so I this is this is tough, but I think just in sheer
- 38:39awe factor, Um, I have to go with Russ's pitch on this one,
- 38:45because I mean, that's Michael Jackson. But teamed up with Prince is
- 38:52that would be an extraordinarily incredible musical event to witness, and we were supposed
- 38:58to get that. That's what made me think that I was like, who
- 39:00in the hell would come out with them? Oh yeah, the guy who
- 39:02we were supposed to get a thing a clab with and never did. Yeah.
- 39:07No, that's that's that's hot. And I can't choose against that,
- 39:12so Russe and Lauren take that game as well. They have two more points.
- 39:19It is three to zero in favor of Rust and Lauren versus the dream
- 39:22Team, but there is one more chance for Stevie and Aggie to tie things
- 39:28up. Game three is going to be worth three points, and we're gonna
- 39:31play that game right after this. Hey, this is Grabbing Brisket Podcast.

- 40:25We got this hockey, Hey man, welcome back. It's time for Game
- 40:30three. Game three is going to be four out of five dentists. I'm
- 40:37gonna ask five survey questions such as what percentage of Americans believing ghosts? And
- 40:42one team will guess the exact percentage out of a hundred. Their opponents will
- 40:46then decide whether they think the correct answer is higher or lower. If they're
- 40:51correct, they win the survey, Otherwise the original guessers win it. Then
- 40:55teams will swap rolls and we'll move on to the next survey. Team to
- 41:00win three surveys wins the game and earns three episode points. And of course,
- 41:04this being the music spectacular part, du all surveys relate to music in
- 41:09one way or another. So Stevie and Agi lost the last game, you're
- 41:14behind, would you like to would you like to guess the exact percentage first?
- 41:19Or would you like to guess higher or lower first? Or discussing?
- 41:25I think we're gonna go with, oh, well you gonna think, well,
- 41:29we'll go first, guess the actual percent of Yeah, we're good.
- 41:32That all right, Well we'll find out. Here is the first survey,
- 41:38According to a you gov survey, what percentage of Americans are not a fan
- 41:45of Taylor Swift? To be specific, the survey had three options. Yes,
- 41:52I'm a fan of Taylor Swift. Yes, I'm a huge fan of
- 41:54Taylor Swift, or no, I am not a fan of Taylor Swift.
- 42:00What percentage of Americans said No, I am not a fan of Taylor Swift.
- 42:06I want to say, Aggie, it's gonna be I know a lot
- 42:08of people like her. I don't care. I mean, I've her music.
- 42:16I'm sure I probably even sang along to them, but I would notice
- 42:20her because that's how much I don't. I just don't have an appeal.
- 42:22So apologies to her newest patron on Patreon, Taylor Swift. Fuck. I
- 42:30mean she's amazing. I have all her albums. He has done more than
- 42:38once. Hi, I'm gonna say it's probably. Do you think it's more
- 42:44than half aren't a fan? I would say more than half America? Or
- 42:46do you think I think it's less than half? It's less a right,
- 42:50So forty three percent I'm thinking, Yeah, it's a good number. Yeah,
- 42:53okay, forty three percent. It is. Russ and Lauren, you
- 42:58just have to decide is the actual percent its higher or lower than forty three
- 43:01percent. We were talking amongst ourselves and setting a number, and we were
- 43:07like, if it's this, we're still going to go lower, and I'm
- 43:09second guessing myself. But our number was forty and they said forty three,
- 43:14So we're going to go lower. You're gonna go lower. Okay, so
- 43:19uh, Stevie and Augie said forty three percent, Russ and Laurence say lower
- 43:23than that? Before you answer? Can I bribe you? No damning?
- 43:27According to a Yugov survey, the percentage of Americans who are not a fan
- 43:30of Taylor's Swift is fifty seven percent. Wow, I knew those more of
- 43:37us, So hold on. I'm not contesting the answer at all, because
- 43:39you're just reading the information that was given to you. But like, you
- 43:43don't break Ticketmaster twice over if over half the nation doesn't like you, No,
- 43:51that's a bunch of people, either hipsters or people that don't want to
- 43:54admit the tailors. But I get I can't stress enough. I'm not contesting.
- 43:59Like we didn't we didn't win the point, that's not but like a
- 44:01bunch of people, Watch's just a game. It's entirely possible. You're right,
- 44:07I own I'm Taylor Swift records, like I'm not all out about her.
- 44:12But like if somebody just walked up under me on the street and was
- 44:14like, Hey, are you Taylor Swift fan? I don't care if I'm
- 44:16wearing like a mega Ether Metallica shirt. I'm gonna be like, yeah,
- 44:19like I've bought some of her music. Whereas I think, you know,
- 44:21apparently people were trying to be contrating or something. I just you don't break
- 44:24Ticketmaster twice over and have over half the nation not like you. You know
- 44:28what I mean. Well, all I can tell you is what I've got
- 44:32on the card. So I'm in the agreement of his card. Upset with
- 44:39like, you're just reading the information about you. I'm just you're upset with
- 44:43the survey takers, the people who you fucking liars, you love or you
- 44:46dumb sucker. All right, let's move on to our second survey. So
- 44:52this time, Russ and Lauren, you are going to guess the exact percentage,
- 44:57and Stevie and Augie are going to choose higher or lowers. So here
- 45:00is your survey. According to a UGOV survey, what percentage of Americans say
- 45:05they strongly support music artists sending cease and desist warnings to politicians banning them from
- 45:14using their songs in a political setting. Now I need to emphasize that the
- 45:20options for the survey were strongly support, support, do not support, or
- 45:24strongly do not support. And the one we're looking for are strongly support music
- 45:32artists sending cease and desist warnings to politicians stopping them from using their songs in
- 45:37a political setting. What percentage of Americans strongly support that? So I can
- 45:45really only speak for myself when I take a survey and it's like, how
- 45:49do you feel about this thing? And if I don't feel like super strongly
- 45:52about it, I'll just put like, oh, support that, like even
- 45:53if I'm calling a wishy washy about it, like you really got to feel
- 45:58it to hit a strong support on a survey. And just so everyone's aware,
- 46:00and this is fact, I could go off air. I can explain
- 46:04to everybody how I know this. But when you don't pick strongly disagree or
- 46:08strongly agree on any survey, they discount your answer. Why Yeah, which
- 46:15I again said, has been discounted. No, I'm saying that pretty much
- 46:20about much so what I'm saying, you know, but that makes your point
- 46:22correct though you have to be like, yeah, Michael Stipe, like to
- 46:25be like the guy who says strongly, so right, So how many is
- 46:30it's strong okay? Because I don't think enough people would hit strongly agree?
- 46:39Okay, thirty eight percent, says Russ and Lauren Steve and Augie. Do
- 46:45you think the actual percentage is higher or lower than thirty eight percent? Personally?
- 46:50It does not an answer. Why won't see what you says personally?
- 46:52I think it's higher than it. I think a lot of people, no
- 46:54matter your political view, it's like, yeah, that's theirs. You can't
- 46:59be using it for your just to pump yourself up. I think the only
- 47:01people who are down for that are the actual ones running using that shit without
- 47:06the permission. So I think a lot more people are against it and strong
- 47:08against it the record, I totally agree with your reasoning. Yeah, I
- 47:14know, yeah, high, I think, yeah, so we're gonna go
- 47:16higher. So Russ and Lawrence said thirty eight percent, Stevie and Augie say
- 47:22it's higher than that. I can tell you that Russ was off by only
- 47:28one point. What a fudge? Oh man, it better be down.
- 47:31So, according to the survey, the percentage of Americans who say they strongly
- 47:37support music artists sending cease and desist warnings to politicians banning them from using their
- 47:42songs in a political setting. Is thirty seven percent? Take the point?
- 47:52Look were you married? Ah? That is a point for each team.
- 48:01Well done, Extremely well done Russe and Lauren for getting that close. Yo,
- 48:07we've played this game twice. We've had nobody get it on the nose
- 48:10yet, but it will happen in any event. So let's move on to
- 48:15survey number three once again. Stevie and Aggie, you guys are going to
- 48:20guess the exact percentage, and Russe and Lauren are going to guess higher or
- 48:22lower. Copy that. Speaking of T shirts with bands names and logos on
- 48:28it, according to a Yugo poll, what percentage of Americans say they have
- 48:34worn a T shirt with a band's name or logo on it despite not being
- 48:38familiar with the band's music. Oh shit? How many Americans say they have
- 48:44worn a T shirt with a band's name or logo on it without knowing their
- 48:49music at all? It was messed up. I know people who do that
- 48:52too. Yeah, the percentage is going to be high. I don't think
- 48:54it's super high, though. How would you go below fifty? Right?
- 49:00I don't I honestly was thinking more in the sixties. Do you think damn
- 49:04many people wear shirts so they don't know the music of the people. I
- 49:07don't think it's that many, dude. We'll think about how many of those
- 49:09people probably are not from, like, you know, one of our generation.
- 49:14But still the fighting now, I don't believe it's that high. I'm
- 49:16gonna contest you who's in charge this week. I think it's lower in fifty
- 49:23dud. Did you just appeal to yourself like you're on your eye object,
- 49:30You're like overruled. I'm trying to be fair. Um, I think it's
- 49:36below fifty two. I think it's in the I think it's in the forties.
- 49:38I really do. We're in forty I'll go with the answer forty two.
- 49:43Sure, sweet, all right, forty two? Yeah, And if
- 49:45I'm wrong, you can overrule me next time, Okay. I remember.
- 49:49So Stephen and Agie say forty two percent of Americans have worn a T shirt
- 49:53with a band's name or logo on it without being familiar with their music.
- 49:57Russ and Lauren h. Russ and Lauren should say, do you feel that
- 50:00that is actually higher or lower than forty two percent? I have a quick
- 50:05clarifying question, go for it when you said it initially? Did you say
- 50:08that? The people who responded say they don't know and they would admit to
- 50:13it. I'll give you the exact wording on the poll. It says,
- 50:17what percentage of Americans have ever worn a T shirt with a band's name or
- 50:22logo on it despite not being familiar with the band's music. Okay, so
- 50:27there's nothing about them admitting it. How else would they know? They would
- 50:31have to admit it on a survey? No, well, yeah, I
- 50:37guess I don't know. I I love the logic what was your What was
- 50:42your? Said? Forty two? It's the answer to life, the universe
- 50:46and everything that stuck with the answer to the survey that is the question.
- 50:52Still think it? Yeah, I still think it's lower. People are prideful.
- 50:55Yeah, okay, we're we're we're we're saying lower lower than forty two
- 51:00percent? All right? So, uh, Steven and Augus say forty two
- 51:06percent of twenty two percent of Americans have ever worn a T shirt with a
- 51:10band's name or logo on it despite not being familiar with the band's music,
- 51:14and Russ and Laurens say it's actually lower than that, The actual percentage of
- 51:19Americans who have worn a T shirt with a band's name or logo on it
- 51:22despite not being familiar with the band's music is twenty five percent. Day I
- 51:30knew it was lower. Have ever worn a T shirt with a band's name
- 51:36or logo on it without being familiar with the band's music, which I share?
- 51:39May I share a comment in a quick story? Yeah? Go ahead,
- 51:43Okay, So here's the thing is that that's why I guess, like
- 51:45what Lauren said, they wouldn't admit it, like admitting it is on the
- 51:49survey, right, But that was my thing is that I feel like people
- 51:52don't want to admit to it, right, So like even if they've never
- 51:54heard of Nirvana song and they're wearing a Nirvana T shirt while they take the
- 51:58survey, they would still be like, yeah, no, I totally know
- 52:00Nirvana is you know what I mean? I promise I'll try and make this
- 52:05quick. But Lauren knows that in life, I identify as a recovering music
- 52:08snob, Like I'm trying not to be that guy every day about music,
- 52:13like which I know sound silly, but it is hard. And this used
- 52:15to be a huge thing for me this whole. Like you walk into Target
- 52:19and you see like def Leppard and Nirvana, you know, guns and Roses
- 52:22T shirts and the people buying them have like never even heard of these bands,
- 52:24you know. And again, I know that sounds music snobby. I'm
- 52:28doing my best. I'm trying not to be that guy anymore. But Lauren
- 52:30and I recently had a conversation about that specific thing where I was like,
- 52:35I'm trying not to be that guy. The next night, you remember this,
- 52:37when we went for sushi. Yeah, I was wearing Lauren was wearing
- 52:40a Pink Floyd T shirt and our server was like, oh, Pink Floyd.
- 52:45I just bought my son a Pink Floyd shirt at Target and we didn't
- 52:49even know who they were. And like, before I could even get Anty
- 52:52in my seat, well before I could even get Antie in my seat,
- 52:54she was like. And then we went home and we looked up Pink Floyd
- 52:59on YouTube and we listened to a bunch of their music together and we were
- 53:01like all super excited to like know, you know, because she was like
- 53:05being a good parent, you know, she didn't want her kid walking around
- 53:07with like pink flogs. They were like you know, full of hate or
- 53:08even music right, So like and I'd literally told Lauren, I'm like,
- 53:13that's the universe, being like, see, don't be a dick about people
- 53:15wearing shirts they don't know. You know, you literally the day before that
- 53:22happened, had that conversation. Did Yeah. I mean, sometimes the band
- 53:25leads you to the T shirt, and sometimes the T shirt leads you to
- 53:29the band. You know, in Communist Russia t shirt, I can actually
- 53:35tell. And I don't know if this is going to trigger RUSS. I
- 53:37hope it doesn't. But several several years ago, a friend of mine on
- 53:42the internet sent me a care package from a one of those conventions that I
- 53:46could never go to. I don't remember which. I think it was actually
- 53:50Comic Con in Los Angeles, but included in the items was a T shirt
- 53:54with a logo that I was like, what the hell is this? Uh?
- 53:58And so I asked him about and he's like, oh, it's one
- 54:00of the local bands out here. I was like, oh cool. Um,
- 54:04so I wore it. But I've never heard a single look of their
- 54:06music and I never bothered to look it up either. Um, so that's
- 54:10a little different though, Like if that's an indie act, right, you
- 54:15know what I mean, Like you're like, your friend is giving you that
- 54:17and you're trying to support them. Like, worst case scenario, somebody's going
- 54:22to see that logo and be like, what the hell is that? You
- 54:23know what I mean? It might look it up. Yeah, yeah,
- 54:27in any event. Uh yeah, So let's keep going. Rust and Lauren
- 54:30are up two to one. Guys, you gotta get this same um and
- 54:37uh this time, Rust and Lauren will be choosing the exact percentage and you
- 54:40guys are going to pick higher lower seeds. Part right, All right,
- 54:44So Rust and Lauren your survey. According to a Yugov survey, what percentage
- 54:49of Americans say that their parents made them learn to play an instrument? My
- 54:54parents made me laurd to play. So for me, it's one right.
- 55:00I had the filthiest joke lined up, and I'm not gonna say not.
- 55:07What I was gonna say was their instrument. I was gonna say, I,
- 55:12for one, I'm thankful they taught you to play the male organ that
- 55:16goes back to high school. Well, you know what, while we're thinking
- 55:21real quick, I used to be a church organist and every Easter my dad
- 55:24would get like easter flowers to put on the organ at the church, and
- 55:27you'd always get tulips. And then my dad looked at me and he goes,
- 55:29there's nothing like tulips on an organ. And I like when your dad
- 55:36makes dirty jokes in church, it's the best. It's the best. He
- 55:40still does. Yeah, that's fun. So I feel like with with school
- 55:47band and everything, this is going to be an iffy one. I feel
- 55:50like forty five forty four just to be weird. Okay, forty four,
- 55:54we're going forty four. You're going forty four. Okay. So Rust and
- 56:00Laurence say forty four percent of Americans say that their parents made them learn to
- 56:04play an instrument. Oh that's difficult. Like I played an instrument. I
- 56:07played guitar, but it's because I wanted to and my dad played, so
- 56:10it was something we could do together, like it was neat. But he
- 56:14didn't make me do anything. Yeah, my parents didn't make me playing it
- 56:16as so much as the school made me play an instrument its parents. But
- 56:22I would honestly think that number would be higher, you think so yeah,
- 56:27Okay, you were off by twenty two points last time you said higher.
- 56:30So we're gonna go they said forty four, so twenty two points from there.
- 56:35Okay, so hold on higher, doesn't matter what it is, I
- 56:37know, but I'm scared. I want to win forty TV's wondering if actually
- 56:45sixty six percent of Americans have been I think it's made to play an instrument
- 56:49by their parents. I think it's I think it's lower than forty four.
- 56:52But you want to go hire. I want to go high. All right,
- 56:53We'll let you do this one. Yeah. If we lose this because
- 56:58of him getting kid, Okay, well we're gonna go higher, he says
- 57:01higher, and if you lose it's because of him. No, no,
- 57:07So Russ and Lauren say that forty four percent of Americans say that their parents
- 57:13made them learn to play an instrument, and Stevie and Augie say it's actually
- 57:15more than that. The correct percentage of Americans who say that their parents made
- 57:22them learn to play an instrument is just fourteen percent, which means that Russ
- 57:30and Lauren have three points and have won the garry. Guys, guys,
- 57:35it is a clean sweep. They get three points for the game, and
- 57:38they have won the episode six to zero. Damn, damn, long time
- 57:45we haven't swept by. We've lost hard, but like not that hard.
- 57:51Regarding that last one, I bet Stevie what you said. I bet that
- 57:54plays a factor into that that we, like all of us, weren't even
- 57:58thinking of. Is that made me like, there's probably kids who take like
- 58:04a band as an elective and then they get two weeks into it and they're
- 58:07like, I don't want to do this anymore. But like their parents didn't
- 58:09make them right, like you said in with your dad, like that was
- 58:12a choice. Yeah, it wasn't like mommy dear or something. This bitch
- 58:15but my bad back to us trouncing you on your own show. No,
- 58:22my parents, well my mom more specifically made me take piano lessons. Really
- 58:29so yeah, made me and my brother take lessons. And now we did
- 58:31not take piano lessons. We literally took organ lessons because that's what we had
- 58:36in the house. So, um, you know, may I ask a
- 58:40question regarding my concert lineup? Even though it won I have a question.
- 58:45Okay, we're redact your points though, but yes, okay, because this
- 58:51took me the longest I knew I wanted Van Halen on the bill. Yeah,
- 58:53and I and I knew that there's a very hard line in the world
- 58:58between Dave fans and any fans, and I believe me and Gary Sharone's parents
- 59:02might represent Gary Sharon's only three fans. But was that a deterrent in any
- 59:08way that I didn't have it solidly all Sammy or all Dave, or that
- 59:13I even threw in Sharone or were you just like, yeah, van Halen
- 59:16works. Um, I was like van Halen works, Yeah, it didn't.
- 59:20It didn't really matter to me, which which you're telling me. If
- 59:22you were if you were to ask me now and I had to give you
- 59:25an answer right now without without knowing who Gary Sharone is, I would I
- 59:30would say I'm I'm I'm a uh Dave fan, okay, just because because
- 59:37that's that's what I That's what I grew up with. That's that's that's the
- 59:39only real reason why right now, okay, I'm too. So that's why
- 59:45I literally spent twenty minutes of sweat yesterday ums thinking about this before I was
- 59:50like, fuck it, I'm including all three. I don't care fair enough,
- 59:52fair enough, Well, I do have one survey left, do you
- 59:54guys want to play it? Just for fun. Yeah, because it's I
- 59:58don't know if I'm going to get to use this in any other game,
- 1:00:00so we might as well. And this is my favorite one. Um So,
- 1:00:02Stevie and Augie just for funzies, you guys are going to be guessing
- 1:00:06the exact percentage, and Rust and Lauren you're gonna guess higher or lower.
- 1:00:09According to a you Go poll, what percentage of Americans say that they prefer
- 1:00:14September by Earth Wind and Fire over the song Wake Me Up? When September
- 1:00:20ends by Green Day? What percentage of Americans like September more than skipping September
- 1:00:30refusing me sort of? I'm trying to remember what the first one is.
- 1:00:35Well, second one, I know, both of them, surprisingly good job.
- 1:00:39The second one is depressing. Yeah, so that could be why they
- 1:00:45liked the first one more than the seconds it was. Yeah. What percentage
- 1:00:46of Americans say they prefer September by Earth Wind and Fire over Wake Me Up
- 1:00:52when September ends by Green Day? Yeah, I'll want to go and want
- 1:00:58to hit up like the high fifties or low sixties, sixty sixties, what
- 1:01:01do you think it like? Sixty two, sixty one, sixty three,
- 1:01:04sixty four four. All right, man, like Nintendo and sh let's do
- 1:01:07it. Yeah, sixty four percent of Americans prefer September by Earth Winning Fire
- 1:01:13over wake me up when September ends by Green Day? I know I do,
- 1:01:19Rust and Lauren, what do you think? Yeah, so we're gonna
- 1:01:22go higher because fuck Green Day and fuck that song. Yeah. Ouch the
- 1:01:28harshness, right, Rust and Laurens say higher being nice? Uh, that
- 1:01:31point would have gone to Stephen Aggie because the actual percentage is thirty four percent.
- 1:01:37Really wow, Yeah, it was a crazy six percent of Americans are
- 1:01:42stupid? You think that percentage is higher? Higher, higher. That's the
- 1:01:53line of the episode Joke of the Day, good one. It was worth
- 1:01:59it, fantastic. La awarded points for joke of the Day. Then you
- 1:02:04guys wouldn't have lost myself. I mean, at least they would have had
- 1:02:08a point. Um. All right, So, Rust, Lauren, I
- 1:02:13hope you guys have had as much fun as we have. Oh my god,
- 1:02:15we did every time. It's it's so great. When we went to
- 1:02:20the grocery store earlier and we're on our way back home and I was like,
- 1:02:22you know, I was like, we're recording with the bfy tw guys
- 1:02:25later and I was like, this doesn't feel like like podcast recording work.
- 1:02:29I was like, in my brain, this was literally in the final up.
- 1:02:31We just get to go drink and hang out with these guys for a
- 1:02:35little while to day, and like I was like so excited about it.
- 1:02:37So thank you for living up to my like admittedly high expectations for what this
- 1:02:40is going to be. Oh happy, happy to do so. And one
- 1:02:45other thing when she said that in the car, she was like, you
- 1:02:46know, because we do a lot of podcasts guest spots between the two of
- 1:02:51us, and to be honest, this might be talking out of turn,
- 1:02:53but a lot both of us are always like I have to go do that
- 1:02:57guest spot now, she said to me in the car, she said exactly
- 1:03:02what she just said when she was like, oh, I'm so looking forward
- 1:03:05to this because it's not even like work, Like it's it's like just hanging
- 1:03:08out with these guys. And then I replied, very naturally, it's because
- 1:03:12they're good at what they do. Yeah, that's why it feels them.
- 1:03:19I'm just like, you guys do such a good job at what you do
- 1:03:24that like neither of us at any point this week was like, and then
- 1:03:29we have to do that. Like every point this week both of us have
- 1:03:32been like, and then on Saturday we get to record, Like you know
- 1:03:36what I mean to do? We get to and like, that's a big
- 1:03:39deal. That's I'm I'm glowing and I don't know how to respond. Um,
- 1:03:47I just this whole podcast exists because I enjoy having phone with my friends,
- 1:03:52and that's what you are. You're my friends. So this getting a
- 1:03:54chance to have fune with you of any kind is great. Having said that,
- 1:03:58if you guys ever just want to do a chill show where we don't
- 1:04:00play games, we just sit around and talk and have fun, we can
- 1:04:02do that. We can absolutely do that too. What do you guys got
- 1:04:06going to day? Do you want to record that right now or hanging out
- 1:04:09for the next three hours? Sure, desperate, take a step back.
- 1:04:14I don't have anything else going on. But anyway, we should wrap you
- 1:04:18like us, like us, sir, send a note, yes, maybe
- 1:04:25checks. Oh god, it's gonna be like Dick Van Dyke, Dick Van
- 1:04:30Patton. They're just oh my god, you have my heart. Oh man,
- 1:04:38I my sincere and never ending. Thanks to Russ and Lauren for joining
- 1:04:43us today. Please remind our good folks who are listening to this episode where
- 1:04:48they can find the cool and wonderful things you do, aside from Oddpodsmedia dot
- 1:04:53com, which is a great place to check out all the cool things all
- 1:04:57of our podcasts are doing. Sure as heck is is. Yeah, So,
- 1:05:00like I like y'all said, I have the beard Ol podcast, which
- 1:05:04is uh, generally me and my brother John pairing a beer, a craft
- 1:05:10beer with a weird owl song like you might pair a wine with a meal.
- 1:05:14It's delicious and delightful, and yet you can find us anywhere at beard
- 1:05:17owl podcast on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and beard owl podcast dot com.
- 1:05:23That's b E r d owl podcast because you know, it's not like
- 1:05:28beard like facial hair, it's beer, like you've done got beard because you
- 1:05:30had a beer whatever. My endorsement is worth for their show. I like
- 1:05:38their podcast so much. I married one of the hosts. Yeah it was
- 1:05:45either. I mean, if you'd gone with John that would have been big
- 1:05:48of me. Um, but anyway, uh yeah, no, I can
- 1:05:55thoroughly also endorse a beard ol podcast. Every episode I've listened to has been
- 1:05:59delightfully silly, and I can't recommend it enough. And the same thing for
- 1:06:03Russ's podcast, the Infectious Groove Podcast, which is an incredible dive into the
- 1:06:09world of music every single episode, so absolutely check that out as well.
- 1:06:13Russ. Anything else you want to plug, just the YouTube channel, because
- 1:06:17we've been doing the Groove podcast for three years now and because of the way
- 1:06:20it was broken up, we're eight seasons of like fifteen or so episodes each
- 1:06:27and that is coming to a close. We have like five or six episodes
- 1:06:30left and the audio podcast is going away. But the YouTube channel is very
- 1:06:34vibrant, and to be honest, we post more content on the YouTube channel
- 1:06:39than we ever did on the audio podcast anyway. So if people go to
- 1:06:43YouTube and starts for Infectious Group Music, subscribe to that. We we just
- 1:06:46hit just over two thousand subs, which is a pretty big accomplish. We
- 1:06:53do three videos every week on that channel, and they're all like very quick
- 1:06:58form contents, like five to ten minute videos of like the one we just
- 1:07:01had come out today was five great Soundtracks, and then the one from a
- 1:07:06couple of days ago was five one hit Wonders you Forgot about And it's not
- 1:07:11to be clear again recovering music snob. It's not me going you forgot about
- 1:07:15these songs and I'm better than you. It's me going, you know,
- 1:07:17you forgot about these songs, and you should totally hit the links in the
- 1:07:20description and check these songs out, and then you'll be like, oh man,
- 1:07:24what a great song I did. Forget about that? You know what
- 1:07:26I mean? Like that that type of thing. So we try and do
- 1:07:29eat on the show or on the YouTube channel. We try very hard to
- 1:07:31do underrated, underappreciated stuff to get more people listening to that instead of sitting
- 1:07:38around doing what you see on the internet a lot, which is a lot
- 1:07:41of like, you know, the thing you love is overrated. Like we
- 1:07:44feel like there's enough I don't know, hate and making fun of things people
- 1:07:48love out in the world. So instead we just don't talk about the things
- 1:07:53we don't like. We just talk about the things that we love and help
- 1:07:56other people too too. Yeah, we've been enjoying too much negative overrated h
- 1:08:00Yeah? Sorry, Uh yeah, no, I've I've watched a bunch of
- 1:08:05your videos, especially the videos the two of you did together, um,
- 1:08:09and I really dig them. I'm one of your subscribers and I can't recommend
- 1:08:15them enough, and I would say that, Yeah, that's that's thoroughly accurate.
- 1:08:17You don't, uh, you're not. You're not forcing your love of
- 1:08:21these songs on anyone, but you are sharing your love of music and encouraging
- 1:08:25people to check them out. And I think that's Yeah, that's definitely the
- 1:08:28way to go. Yeah, so thank you once again. As for our
- 1:08:32podcast, you can find us at bfy twpod dot com. That's our website.
