- 0:26Speaker 1: good morning. Welcome to your Wednesday. It is, oh my God,
- 0:30Speaker 1: it's August 26th.
- 0:31Speaker 3: I know, it's my husband's birthday today.
- 0:33Speaker 1: I know, happy birthday to Eric.
- 0:35Speaker 4: Happy birthday.
- 0:37Speaker 1: It's Mix 102.9. Bill and the Kid, Candace Lopez. Producer
- 0:41Speaker 1: Pooh is here. Candace, how are you?
- 0:42Speaker 3: I'm good. I'm good. I just wanted to go ahead
- 0:44Speaker 3: and give a shout out to Principal V and everyone
- 0:46Speaker 3: we met yesterday at Shackleford Elementary in Waxahachie. Pooh and
- 0:50Speaker 3: I had the best time with the staff and the
- 0:52Speaker 3: students over there.
- 0:53Speaker 1: You look like it.
- 0:54Speaker 3: Yeah, this was part of Pick My Pickup line, which
- 0:56Speaker 3: we've been doing for a couple weeks. People have been
- 0:58Speaker 3: tagging us in their videos in the car line at school.
- 1:01Speaker 3: So we just popped up with some prizes and stuff yesterday.
- 1:03Speaker 3: And that school, I guess they're a leader in me
- 1:06Speaker 3: lighthouse school.
- 1:07Speaker 5: Wow.
- 1:07Speaker 3: Which is really big deal. They practice the seven habits daily.
- 1:11Speaker 3: And like their like emphasis on leadership is like I've
- 1:14Speaker 3: never seen anything like it.
- 1:16Speaker 1: They seem like so cool. And you were giving out
- 1:18Speaker 1: good prizes, too. I was like, because I think I'm
- 1:20Speaker 1: going to do it today. Oh, yeah. By the way.
- 1:22Speaker 3: Good.
- 1:23Speaker 1: I think I'm going to play now. For a pickup line.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Either way, I'm like, the prizes you were giving out
- 1:28Speaker 1: were really good stuff. Oh, yeah.
- 1:29Speaker 3: We had Ed Sheeran tickets, Texas Rangers tickets, plenty of, like,
- 1:32Speaker 3: free ice cream coupons. All sorts of stuff.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:36Speaker 3: But they were so kind to us. And we're like, just, yeah,
- 1:38Speaker 3: park in the school. We thought maybe we were going
- 1:40Speaker 3: to get run off. We're like, we're just, you know,
- 1:41Speaker 3: trying to surprise some people with some free stuff today.
- 1:44Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:45Speaker 1: Just being renegades.
- 1:46Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly. But they were like, no, come on up.
- 1:48Speaker 3: We love this. We love, like, giving things to our
- 1:50Speaker 3: families and just celebrating them.
- 1:52Speaker 1: That makes me happy.
- 1:53Speaker 3: Me too.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Well, I'm going to do it today. I'm not sure.
- 1:55Speaker 1: I'll tell you later. I think I know which school
- 1:57Speaker 1: I'm going to go to.
- 1:58Speaker 6: Okay.
- 1:58Speaker 1: It's an elementary school in Plano, but if you got
- 2:01Speaker 1: one and you want to tag us at Mix1029FM on Instagram,
- 2:04Speaker 1: tag us and we'll try to show up today to
- 2:07Speaker 1: your drop-off, pick-up, whatever line it is. Yeah. But I
- 2:09Speaker 1: think I'm going to Plano. That's all I'm saying. Pooh
- 2:11Speaker 1: and I are rolling to Plano.
- 2:12Speaker 4: Okay.
- 2:12Speaker 1: We're going to roll out.
- 2:13Speaker 4: Yeah. I had no.
- 2:14Speaker 3: I rode in the car with Pooh yesterday, too.
- 2:16Speaker 1: Totally fine.
- 2:17Speaker 3: No, it wasn't scary.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Yeah. Okay.
- 2:18Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 2:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:19Speaker 3: It was actually my poober just picked me up right
- 2:21Speaker 3: on time, right where I dropped a pin.
- 2:24Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 2:24Speaker 1: Oh, good.
- 2:25Speaker 3: Very reliable poober yesterday.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Did he put his phone away or was he texting
- 2:28Speaker 1: and driving? No texting and driving.
- 2:30Speaker 7: No.
- 2:30Speaker 1: Okay, good.
- 2:31Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:32Speaker 1: I'm actually impressed, too. I'm changed. I promise you. You're changed, man. Well,
- 2:35Speaker 1: I don't get in the car with you often because
- 2:36Speaker 1: I get scared. Get a little bit nervous because Pooh
- 2:40Speaker 1: likes to text and he used to.
- 2:43Speaker 3: Yeah, maybe he's a different driver when you're in the
- 2:45Speaker 3: passenger seat. Maybe I'm like, you know, when your kids
- 2:47Speaker 3: are in the car and you just drive a little
- 2:49Speaker 3: more calm.
- 2:50Speaker 1: Your precious cargo. Yeah. Because it rarely happens where you
- 2:53Speaker 1: two drive together.
- 2:53Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 2:54Speaker 1: Because you're a control freak when it comes to driving, Candace.
- 2:58Speaker 1: You know what I mean? Mom's in the car. You
- 2:59Speaker 1: better act right. You know what I mean?
- 3:01Speaker 3: Maybe that's what it was.
- 3:03Speaker 1: Producer Poole, what's up with you?
- 3:04Speaker 7: Man, yesterday after we left the school, I had to
- 3:07Speaker 7: go run up to Best Buy because my washer and
- 3:09Speaker 7: dryer are out.
- 3:11Speaker 1: No! Yeah, so I've been.
- 3:13Speaker 7: On the hunt for a washer and dryer, I forgot
- 3:16Speaker 7: how expensive they are.
- 3:17Speaker 3: Right?
- 3:18Speaker 1: On the hunt for it?
- 3:19Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 3:19Speaker 1: I'll tell you where to get them. Where?
- 3:21Speaker 4: Anywhere.
- 3:22Speaker 1: No, I know that, but I'm talking about at poo prices. Oh, well,
- 3:26Speaker 1: you get them used, by the way.
- 3:28Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 3:28Speaker 3: Yeah, that's true.
- 3:29Speaker 4: I know.
- 3:30Speaker 7: I was thinking about that. I was looking on Marketplace,
- 3:31Speaker 7: and I found a stackable for like... 350, something like that.
- 3:35Speaker 1: That's not bad. I know, but I don't know. I
- 3:38Speaker 1: think I want to go brand new. Well, just do
- 3:40Speaker 1: what you used to do back in the day. Just
- 3:41Speaker 1: wash my hand outside in the creek. God.
- 3:45Speaker 3: Just get the clothesline up.
- 3:46Speaker 1: Yeah, just get the clothesline up.
- 3:47Speaker 3: On your balcony. Your neighbors will love it.
- 3:49Speaker 1: I might get me a new pair and then just
- 3:51Speaker 1: Klarna or Affirm it. You know what I mean? Hang
- 3:54Speaker 1: your chonies up in the... On your balcony. Just string
- 3:57Speaker 1: them all up. Ain't nobody going to see nothing. Yeah,
- 4:00Speaker 1: just go down to Trinity River.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Yeah, just get a girlfriend that has one. And then
- 4:04Speaker 3: just wash clothes at her place.
- 4:06Speaker 1: Yeah, don't you just have one of your girls? Go
- 4:10Speaker 1: to the laundromat. Maybe you'll meet a nice girl. The
- 4:13Speaker 1: laundromat down the street from me is hood. I'm going
- 4:16Speaker 1: to tell you right now. I've seen some... Really? Yeah,
- 4:19Speaker 1: because I take my comforters there sometimes.
- 4:21Speaker 3: I mean, some laundromats are cool these days.
- 4:23Speaker 4: I know.
- 4:23Speaker 1: They're totally different. Wait a minute.
- 4:24Speaker 7: You take your comforters to the laundromat? Yeah, because it
- 4:27Speaker 7: won't fit. You can't put it in a regular washing machine.
- 4:29Speaker 3: You need like a heavy duty cycle.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Yeah, I can. I put mine in there. You do? Yeah. Oh, yeah,
- 4:35Speaker 1: but yours is big. Mine's a stackable. You can't do that.
- 4:38Speaker 1: My comforter's huge. You want to bring your comforter to
- 4:40Speaker 1: my house? Yeah.
- 4:42Speaker 3: Yeah, wash it at Billy's.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Yeah, you can wash it at my house.
- 4:44Speaker 3: You can do your laundry, too, since your hand is
- 4:46Speaker 3: out of service.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Good point.
- 4:48Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Oh, wow. And I only charge you half price if
- 4:50Speaker 1: you do my laundry.
- 4:51Speaker 7: Wait, let me get this straight. I'm going to do
- 4:53Speaker 7: your laundry, but you're charging me? Yeah, a little bit.
- 4:57Speaker 1: How's that work? A little bit. By the way, I
- 5:00Speaker 1: put on socks today. I'm pretty impressed. I saw that.
- 5:04Speaker 7: I know.
- 5:05Speaker 1: I got on socks because I have a broken hand.
- 5:07Speaker 1: I couldn't put on socks.
- 5:08Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 5:08Speaker 1: But I figured out a way to do it today.
- 5:10Speaker 3: Good.
- 5:10Speaker 1: Yes, because yesterday I got out of the house. I
- 5:12Speaker 1: was all over the place yesterday.
- 5:13Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 5:14Speaker 1: Me and my dog went on a golf cart ride.
- 5:17Speaker 3: I saw that.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Yeah. Listening to some Dolly.
- 5:20Speaker 4: Oh. I know.
- 5:21Speaker 1: We'll talk about that.
- 5:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:22Speaker 1: Because that just had me... Oddly emotional.
- 5:25Speaker 3: Same.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:26Speaker 4: Why?
- 5:26Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 5:27Speaker 6: Same.
- 5:28Speaker 3: The levels of people that were grieving yesterday online, it
- 5:30Speaker 3: was just unreal.
- 5:32Speaker 1: Yeah, we'll talk about that because I just, I don't
- 5:34Speaker 1: know why. I mean, I was a Dolly fan, don't
- 5:36Speaker 1: get me wrong.
- 5:37Speaker 4: For sure.
- 5:37Speaker 7: Right.
- 5:37Speaker 1: But we'll get into it next. I think why it
- 5:39Speaker 1: hits all of us a little bit different, a little
- 5:41Speaker 1: bit deeper than just an average celebrity passing away.
- 5:43Speaker 4: Yep.
- 5:44Speaker 1: Texas Top Stories is next on Mix 102.9. Let's go.
- 5:46Speaker 7: 102.9.
- 5:47Speaker 1: The new Mix 102.9.
- 5:53Speaker 2: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 5:56Speaker 2: Kid in the morning.
- 5:57Speaker 4: Only on the new Mix 102.9.
- 5:59Speaker 1: Got a dirty little secret coming up at 7.30. Don't
- 6:02Speaker 1: miss that. It's a good one, too. Candace Lopez, what
- 6:04Speaker 1: is going on?
- 6:05Speaker 3: Well, let me update you on those wildfires. Crews are
- 6:07Speaker 3: continuing to battle multiple fires in Texas this morning. More
- 6:11Speaker 3: than 50,000 acres have burned already in Palo Pinto and
- 6:14Speaker 3: Jack counties. This is affecting air quality in parts of
- 6:17Speaker 3: the Metroplex, but this fire is only about 12% contained.
- 6:21Speaker 3: And with the wind we're going to have again today,
- 6:23Speaker 3: That's going to make it really hard for these crews. But, yeah,
- 6:25Speaker 3: some wind, low chance for rain. Our high today, 101.
- 6:28Speaker 3: And the State Fair of Texas, guys, is changing up
- 6:32Speaker 3: the way they do live music this year. So I
- 6:34Speaker 3: don't know if you saw this, but the Chevy main
- 6:36Speaker 3: stage is moving indoors.
- 6:38Speaker 1: I did. I saw that, and I was kind of excited,
- 6:40Speaker 1: yet not excited. It was weird. I had mixed feelings
- 6:42Speaker 1: about it.
- 6:43Speaker 4: Yeah, I did, too.
- 6:44Speaker 3: At first, I was really excited because the way they
- 6:46Speaker 3: announced it on social media, it was just so creative.
- 6:48Speaker 3: But then I thought, but people like to be outside
- 6:50Speaker 3: and have the vibes of the fair around them.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Yeah, but at the same time, I'm telling you, the
- 6:54Speaker 1: last time I was out there watching an actor in
- 6:57Speaker 1: the day, Pooh and I were out there. I thought
- 6:59Speaker 1: to myself, God, I wish there was a noise. Yeah,
- 7:01Speaker 1: that's true. It was so hot.
- 7:03Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 7:04Speaker 1: And sweaty and you know, the chance of the crazy weather.
- 7:08Speaker 1: So I think it might be a smart move. Obviously
- 7:09Speaker 1: they know what they're doing.
- 7:10Speaker 3: Yeah. And if it doesn't work out, I mean, they
- 7:12Speaker 3: can switch it back next year. Uh, concerts are free
- 7:15Speaker 3: with admission though. That stage will be inside fair park.
- 7:17Speaker 3: Coliseum seating will be on a first come first serve basis. Uh,
- 7:21Speaker 3: they're saying this will open up, you know, more space
- 7:23Speaker 3: for new experiences where the main stage used to be.
- 7:26Speaker 3: And they're going to announce what those kinds of experiences
- 7:28Speaker 3: will be. in the next few weeks and of course
- 7:31Speaker 3: the world is remembering dolly parton today she passed yesterday
- 7:35Speaker 3: at the age of 80 aside from her you know
- 7:38Speaker 3: six decade plus career and selling more than 100 million
- 7:41Speaker 3: records she also launched a theme park inspired countless country
- 7:45Speaker 3: artists She's also known for her philanthropic work, much of
- 7:48Speaker 3: which we're just now learning about.
- 7:50Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, I know.
- 7:51Speaker 3: Of course, she had her imagination library that she founded
- 7:55Speaker 3: in 1995. I mean, who else is gifting over 300
- 7:58Speaker 3: million free books to kids around the world? I mean,
- 8:01Speaker 3: it's incredible.
- 8:02Speaker 1: And she, you know, the cool part about her is
- 8:04Speaker 1: she didn't really boast about anything.
- 8:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:07Speaker 1: And she just did it.
- 8:08Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 8:09Speaker 1: She just did it.
- 8:10Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 8:11Speaker 1: That's pretty special nowadays. And I just got really sad yesterday.
- 8:16Speaker 1: the Dolly thing hits different is because I was a
- 8:18Speaker 1: Dolly fan like most people.
- 8:19Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 8:20Speaker 1: But I wasn't listening to her music every day.
- 8:22Speaker 5: Right.
- 8:23Speaker 1: I wasn't just like she was just she felt invincible.
- 8:27Speaker 3: Yeah. She was comfort. You know, her voice, the things
- 8:30Speaker 3: she said, you know, she was so inspiring.
- 8:32Speaker 1: And it was also to me, she's one of the
- 8:35Speaker 1: last of the living legends that was among us.
- 8:39Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 8:39Speaker 1: You know, when you saw Dolly, you felt like you
- 8:42Speaker 1: remembered not just Her music, but you remember times with
- 8:45Speaker 1: your parents.
- 8:46Speaker 4: Right.
- 8:46Speaker 1: You remember times with your grandparents.
- 8:48Speaker 3: Yes, that's what hit me, too, is just I know
- 8:50Speaker 3: my grandparents were such huge fans. And if they were here,
- 8:53Speaker 3: you know, today, they would just be mourning deeper than
- 8:55Speaker 3: I can even imagine.
- 8:57Speaker 7: Right.
- 8:57Speaker 3: Yeah, it breaks my heart.
- 8:59Speaker 1: It's just there's certain people in life you don't really
- 9:01Speaker 1: think about. You don't really think about them ever not
- 9:03Speaker 1: being around because they just seem bigger than life.
- 9:06Speaker 3: Right.
- 9:06Speaker 1: And she was one of those people. So we'll talk
- 9:09Speaker 1: a little bit more about it later because she's just
- 9:11Speaker 1: such a special human being. the impact that she made
- 9:15Speaker 1: in this world was pretty special.
- 9:16Speaker 3: Yeah, a light, for sure, as people described her. I'm
- 9:19Speaker 3: Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas Top Stories on Mix 102.9.
- 9:22Speaker 1: Matter of fact, can I leave you with some Dolly? Yeah.
- 9:25Speaker 1: One of my favorite Dolly clips here.
- 9:27Speaker 8: You are enough, and anyone who tells you otherwise isn't
- 9:30Speaker 8: worth your time.
- 9:32Speaker 4: You got this.
- 9:33Speaker 8: Yes, I'm talking to you. Other people didn't always believe
- 9:35Speaker 8: in me. And in those times, I had to believe
- 9:38Speaker 8: in myself. Plus, nothing's better than proving people wrong.
- 9:43Speaker 3: Make a list of the.
- 9:44Speaker 8: Things you love about yourself. They can be big or small. Like,
- 9:48Speaker 8: I cook a mean chicken pot pie.
- 9:51Speaker 1: Or, I'm a great mom.
- 9:54Speaker 8: If you tell yourself enough nice things, eventually, you'll believe
- 9:58Speaker 8: them too.
- 9:59Speaker 1: Rest in peace. peace it's mix 102.9 good morning billy
- 10:02Speaker 1: the kid candace lopez producer poo is here dirty little
- 10:05Speaker 1: secret at 7 30 just wait to hear what this
- 10:07Speaker 1: girl has to say what she's hiding Okay. From her man.
- 10:12Speaker 1: It's so bizarre to me that you would hide something
- 10:15Speaker 1: like this, because if he finds out, oh, it's over. 7.30,
- 10:18Speaker 1: Dirty Little Secret. Jonas Brothers tickets right now before we
- 10:21Speaker 1: do real or fake news. Who's this?

- 10:23Speaker 1: Rachel, what's up, Rachel? How are you?
- 10:24Speaker 6: Good.
- 10:25Speaker 1: Good? Just good? That's it? Not great?
- 10:29Speaker 5: No, we're great. I think I'm just shocked y'all actually answered.
- 10:32Speaker 1: Not only did I answer, you won. You're caller number one. Congratulations!

- 10:38Speaker 1: There you go, Rachel. You got a pair of tickets
- 10:39Speaker 1: to go see the Jonas Brothers coming up in November.
- 10:42Speaker 1: And yeah, we got you in.
- 10:43Speaker 6: Awesome.
- 10:44Speaker 1: What are you doing right now?
- 10:45Speaker 5: I'm taking the grandkids to school.
- 10:48Speaker 1: Oh, really? Well, look at you. You're not a grandma.
- 10:52Speaker 5: I take care of five of them every day.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Five grandkids every day?
- 10:56Speaker 7: Yes.
- 10:57Speaker 1: Wow. Good for you. Shout out to all the grandmas. Yeah.
- 11:01Speaker 1: Working hard. Thank you for what you do, grandma. Seriously. Well,
- 11:04Speaker 1: we appreciate you. Let us give you these tickets and
- 11:07Speaker 1: have a great day. Don't work too hard.
- 11:08Speaker 7: All right.
- 11:09Speaker 6: Thank y'all.
- 11:09Speaker 5: Y'all have a wonderful day.
- 11:10Speaker 1: You too, Rachel. She sounds so like she sounds 20.
- 11:13Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 11:14Speaker 1: Yeah. That's crazy part about 2026 in this age. When
- 11:17Speaker 1: you get to this, our age, you know, Candace and
- 11:20Speaker 1: I's age. You honestly could have friends that are new parents.
- 11:26Speaker 8: Yep.
- 11:27Speaker 1: And you could also have friends that are grandparents.
- 11:29Speaker 3: Absolutely, have both.
- 11:30Speaker 1: It is a bizarre world to live in. And you're
- 11:33Speaker 1: just like, wait, what? Because how's that happen?
- 11:36Speaker 3: It does, though.
- 11:36Speaker 1: It is strange. It does happen. All right, you ready?
- 11:38Speaker 1: Real or fake news? I'm going to give you three headlines.
- 11:41Speaker 1: You get to tell me which one is the fake headline.
- 11:43Speaker 1: And the news is crazy, so sometimes it's hard to tell.
- 11:45Speaker 1: Headline number one. Scientists have turned plastic into edible cookies.
- 11:53Speaker 3: Okay.
- 11:54Speaker 1: Scientists have turned plastic... into edible cookies. Headline number one.
- 11:59Speaker 1: Headline number two. Man looking at up to eight years
- 12:03Speaker 1: in prison for ordering hundreds of pizzas to random addresses.
- 12:08Speaker 1: Man looking at up to eight years in prison for
- 12:12Speaker 1: ordering hundreds of pizzas to random addresses. That's headline number two.
- 12:17Speaker 1: Headline number three. HOA finds man for putting up his
- 12:21Speaker 1: skeleton Halloween decoration, quote, too early. HOA finds a man
- 12:27Speaker 1: for putting up his skeleton Halloween decoration, quote, too early.
- 12:31Speaker 1: It's probably that big, you know, Home Depot one.
- 12:34Speaker 4: Oh, yeah, Skelly.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Yeah, it's probably Skelly. Exactly. Okay, which one do you
- 12:39Speaker 1: think is the fake headline out of the three? Candice Lopez,
- 12:41Speaker 1: you won yesterday. I did. You could win two days
- 12:44Speaker 1: in a row, three days in a row, I think.
- 12:46Speaker 1: I think you won Monday as well. You can have
- 12:49Speaker 1: the first guess or you could pass it. To LaDooDooPooPoo.
- 12:52Speaker 4: All right.
- 12:54Speaker 3: I'm going to have LaDooDooPooPoo go first today. Okay. Again.
- 12:57Speaker 1: LaDooDooPooPoo, a.k.a. Clarence, a.k.a. Professor Poo.
- 13:02Speaker 4: Aw.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Whatever you want to call him besides his name, sometimes
- 13:04Speaker 1: it's fun.
- 13:04Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 13:05Speaker 1: Sometimes it's fun to call people a random name.
- 13:07Speaker 4: It is.
- 13:08Speaker 1: I'm going to go.
- 13:08Speaker 7: Lock me in for that first story. Ain't nobody having
- 13:11Speaker 7: no edible cookies out of plastic. Okay.
- 13:14Speaker 1: I think that's fake. You think that's fake?
- 13:15Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 13:16Speaker 1: Lock me in. I think most of them are plastic now.
- 13:18Speaker 4: Okay.
- 13:19Speaker 1: All right, let's lock that in. Lock it in. All right,
- 13:22Speaker 1: Candace Lopez, which one do you think is the fake story?
- 13:25Speaker 3: Well, this is hard. Lock me in for that second story,
- 13:28Speaker 3: the prison for the pizzas.
- 13:30Speaker 1: Really?
- 13:30Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 13:31Speaker 1: Okay, you don't think anybody's facing up to eight years
- 13:33Speaker 1: in prison for sending random pizzas to random addresses?
- 13:36Speaker 3: I don't think so. I'd be happy if someone sent
- 13:38Speaker 3: me random pizza.
- 13:39Speaker 1: So would I. All right, let's lock that in.
- 13:41Speaker 3: Just hold the cheese.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Lock it in, yeah.
- 13:43Speaker 3: If you're doing that.
- 13:43Speaker 1: Nobody does. Nobody does that. I know. Nobody's like, I
- 13:48Speaker 1: can't wait to have a cheeseless pizza. Although until you
- 13:52Speaker 1: try it, it's not bad.
- 13:53Speaker 3: Right.
- 13:54Speaker 1: You are locked in. The winner today is, oh, me. Finally,
- 14:06Speaker 1: I won. Both of you missed the fake story. I
- 14:10Speaker 1: fooled you. So the fake story was the HOA finding
- 14:13Speaker 1: a man for putting up a skeleton Halloween decoration too early. Okay.
- 14:16Speaker 1: Which I'm sure has happened before. I figured it happened.
- 14:18Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 14:19Speaker 1: It's not in the news, though. All right. Because I'm
- 14:21Speaker 1: starting to see Halloween decorations up. That's what made me
- 14:23Speaker 1: think about it.
- 14:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:24Speaker 3: In your neighborhood?
- 14:25Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:26Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 14:26Speaker 1: It's kind of weird to me.
- 14:27Speaker 8: Already?
- 14:28Speaker 4: Yes.
- 14:29Speaker 1: I mean, or maybe they just left it up from
- 14:30Speaker 1: last year and I didn't know.
- 14:32Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 14:33Speaker 1: Let's get to the real story. Scientists have turned plastic
- 14:36Speaker 1: into edible cookies. What? They found a way to do
- 14:39Speaker 1: this with a little help from some yeast. Researchers at
- 14:42Speaker 1: Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, demonstrated that they could 3D print
- 14:48Speaker 1: edible tasting, I mean, real, legit, edible cookies out of
- 14:51Speaker 1: plastics that were broken down in some scientific process. And
- 14:54Speaker 1: I'm not going to get into it, but.
- 14:56Speaker 3: 3D print?
- 14:57Speaker 1: Yes, they 3D print these cookies. They can make them
- 14:59Speaker 1: different flavors and whatever. And the majority of it is
- 15:03Speaker 1: made out of plastic. What? Which they're doing this because,
- 15:06Speaker 1: I mean, they're like, hey, the world produces 400 million
- 15:09Speaker 1: tons of plastic waste a year. And the crazy part
- 15:12Speaker 1: is the research that they're doing is partly funded by
- 15:15Speaker 1: NASA because they're talking about a way to make plastic
- 15:20Speaker 1: into food in space.
- 15:22Speaker 4: Oh.
- 15:23Speaker 1: Eventually, if we're on the moon.
- 15:25Speaker 1: And we have to eat, and we can't grow food,
- 15:28Speaker 1: then we might as well just eat plastic?
- 15:30Speaker 3: Plastic steak?
- 15:31Speaker 1: Leave me here. Weird. I don't like this. I really
- 15:34Speaker 1: ain't going. I don't know, boo. I mean, they say
- 15:38Speaker 1: that you can't even tell the difference. Yeah, whatever.
- 15:41Speaker 4: I'll know.
- 15:41Speaker 3: I'm pretty sure we can.
- 15:43Speaker 1: I think you might be surprised, but either way, that's
- 15:45Speaker 1: a real story. The other story, man looking up at
- 15:49Speaker 1: eight years in prison for ordering hundreds of pizzas to
- 15:51Speaker 1: random addresses.
- 15:52Speaker 6: Oh, man.
- 15:54Speaker 1: Why was he doing this? So it's a Polish man.
- 15:57Speaker 1: He could spend up to eight years in prison after
- 15:59Speaker 1: just pranking many people. But here's the issue is. It's
- 16:03Speaker 1: a 23-year-old guy, too, in the cybercrimes division in Poland
- 16:05Speaker 1: got into this, and they're like, what's going on? Because
- 16:08Speaker 1: not only was he sending these pizzas to random addresses,
- 16:10Speaker 1: they can't really figure out why he was doing this,
- 16:13Speaker 1: but he was also attaching threats to the pizzas. Oh, okay. So... Clickbait.
- 16:20Speaker 1: He'll send you pizza, but he'll also threaten you.
- 16:24Speaker 8: Okay.
- 16:25Speaker 1: And they have no idea why. They have no idea
- 16:28Speaker 1: why he was doing it. So, like, he would send
- 16:29Speaker 1: you a pizza, and then... With a disturbing threat that
- 16:32Speaker 1: he was going to kidnap you later.
- 16:33Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
- 16:34Speaker 1: Enjoy this pizza, but later I'm going to kidnap you.
- 16:38Speaker 4: Weird.
- 16:39Speaker 1: Well, that's how you'd kidnap me.
- 16:41Speaker 3: Just lower you with pizza?
- 16:43Speaker 1: Yeah. Pizza or tacos.
- 16:44Speaker 8: Right.
- 16:45Speaker 1: If you pull up in a big white van with
- 16:46Speaker 1: no windows and it says free tacos, I'm getting in. Yeah, same.
- 16:49Speaker 1: I'm definitely getting in.
- 16:51Speaker 3: Jeez.
- 16:52Speaker 1: Either way, he might go to jail. You ever have
- 16:53Speaker 1: a prank that just went too far? I mean, obviously
- 16:56Speaker 1: this guy did.
- 16:56Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 16:57Speaker 1: But it reminds me of a prank that I mean,
- 16:58Speaker 1: many pranks that I did back in the day that
- 17:00Speaker 1: was just stupid. Right.
- 17:01Speaker 3: Which one?
- 17:02Speaker 1: But I remember one that almost like like legit got
- 17:04Speaker 1: me in trouble because I told a girl in the
- 17:06Speaker 1: neighborhood when I was probably like 15 and she started driving.
- 17:09Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 17:09Speaker 1: And I was in the car with her. And I said, hey,
- 17:13Speaker 1: just I hope you know. But, you know, the stop
- 17:15Speaker 1: signs with the white line around it, the white lines
- 17:18Speaker 1: around it.
- 17:18Speaker 8: Right.
- 17:19Speaker 1: You don't have to stop that. You can just yield.
- 17:21Speaker 1: If it has a white line, you can just yield
- 17:23Speaker 1: if it's got the white around it. Every stop sign
- 17:26Speaker 1: has white around it.
- 17:28Speaker 4: Right.
- 17:29Speaker 1: If you notice, so she was like, really? And I
- 17:32Speaker 1: thought she knew I was kidding. And, oh, man, her
- 17:35Speaker 1: mom called me up so mad. How dare you? She
- 17:39Speaker 1: ran a stop sign and almost died.
- 17:41Speaker 4: No.
- 17:42Speaker 1: Yeah, she was basically running every, she was like, oh,
- 17:44Speaker 1: this one's got white around it.
- 17:45Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 17:47Speaker 8: Okay.
- 17:47Speaker 1: And she was just bailing through it. She's like, I
- 17:50Speaker 1: guess I don't have to. I can just yield for
- 17:51Speaker 1: this one.
- 17:51Speaker 3: Yield.
- 17:52Speaker 1: I'll just yield for this one real quick.
- 17:54Speaker 4: Wow.
- 17:54Speaker 3: She didn't remember not learning that in driver's ed?
- 17:57Speaker 1: No, you don't learn that kind of stuff in driver's ed.
- 17:59Speaker 3: But you've learned that that's not true.
- 18:01Speaker 1: Yeah, but we didn't. Did you really learn anything in
- 18:03Speaker 1: driver's ed?
- 18:04Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, probably. I forgot it all by now.
- 18:06Speaker 1: I learned how not to get carjacked.
- 18:08Speaker 4: Right.
- 18:09Speaker 1: They actually taught you that.
- 18:11Speaker 4: Really? They did.
- 18:12Speaker 1: Growing up where I grew up in Detroit, they taught
- 18:14Speaker 1: you the first day of driver's ed, they tell you
- 18:16Speaker 1: how not to get carjacked.
- 18:18Speaker 4: Oh.
- 18:18Speaker 1: They're like, don't pull too close up to the other
- 18:20Speaker 1: car in front of you because then they can box
- 18:22Speaker 1: you in. That's the only thing I remember.
- 18:25Speaker 3: Wow.
- 18:25Speaker 1: From driver's ed is how not to die.
- 18:27Speaker 8: Wow.
- 18:34Speaker 1: We got a dirty little secret at 730. It's Mix 102.9.
- 18:37Speaker 1: Good morning. I'm Bailey the Kid. Candice Lopez, producer Pooh,
- 18:41Speaker 1: is here. You know I love a good list. And
- 18:44Speaker 1: I figure what way to, better way to honor Dolly
- 18:47Speaker 1: than a list.
- 18:48Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 18:49Speaker 1: And I say this because I don't know why, I'm
- 18:52Speaker 1: just oddly sad about it.
- 18:54Speaker 3: For sure.
- 18:55Speaker 1: And I think so many people are. I think so
- 18:57Speaker 1: many people, like I didn't ever expect that. To see
- 19:01Speaker 1: the response online of Dolly passing away like I did.
- 19:06Speaker 3: Yeah, from young people, older people, literally everybody.
- 19:09Speaker 1: And I love it. Don't get me wrong. I love it.
- 19:11Speaker 1: I think it's absolutely amazing that she's being honored the
- 19:14Speaker 1: way she is. People are remembering her and talking about
- 19:16Speaker 1: her because she deserves it. And it's just something amazing
- 19:21Speaker 1: about the fact that so many people have been affected
- 19:24Speaker 1: by her death. And even if they weren't affected by
- 19:28Speaker 1: her music or were not the biggest fan, they were
- 19:30Speaker 1: inspired by her.
- 19:31Speaker 3: For sure.
- 19:32Speaker 1: And some of the things that I'm like, you know,
- 19:34Speaker 1: I got to talk about this because I've always been
- 19:37Speaker 1: kind of intrigued by her. But some of the things
- 19:39Speaker 1: that I thought, you know, let's go over some interesting
- 19:41Speaker 1: facts about Dolly that some people don't know. You might
- 19:44Speaker 1: know if you might not. Did you know that she
- 19:47Speaker 1: wrote Jolene and I Will Always Love You? on the
- 19:50Speaker 1: same day? Wow, no. What? Which is insane to me
- 19:55Speaker 1: because if you've ever, you know, been involved in music,
- 19:57Speaker 1: it's hard to write a great song.
- 19:59Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 20:00Speaker 1: It's definitely hard to write two legendary songs. Hits. Mega hits.
- 20:05Speaker 1: In one day. The same writing session... She wrote those
- 20:10Speaker 1: two songs like it was just unbelievable, totally normal. And
- 20:14Speaker 1: in another crazy part about I Will Always Love You
- 20:17Speaker 1: is obviously, you know, made extremely famous by Whitney Houston.
- 20:23Speaker 1: But back in the day, Elvis Presley's manager actually reached
- 20:28Speaker 1: out to Dolly and because he wanted to do that
- 20:31Speaker 1: song so bad.
- 20:32Speaker 3: Wow.
- 20:32Speaker 1: He wanted to do the song. And obviously she was
- 20:35Speaker 1: so excited. And she's like, yeah, yeah. Of course, 1000%
- 20:39Speaker 1: I want him to do it because it's Elvis Presley. Yeah.
- 20:42Speaker 1: Why would I not? She's talking back and forth because
- 20:45Speaker 1: that was another incredible thing about Dolly. She handled a
- 20:48Speaker 1: lot of her own business. It's amazing.
- 20:50Speaker 4: Right.
- 20:51Speaker 1: So she's talking back and forth and obviously she's freaking out.
- 20:53Speaker 1: Elvis is about to do a rendition of I Will
- 20:55Speaker 1: Always Love You. And Tom Parker, Elvis's manager, called her
- 21:00Speaker 1: right before he was going to record and said, hey,
- 21:02Speaker 1: just give you a heads up. I hope you know this, but.
- 21:04Speaker 1: Elvis doesn't do anything and record anything without getting 50%
- 21:08Speaker 1: of the publishing, which is a big deal in the
- 21:12Speaker 1: songwriting world. And she said 50% of the publishing on
- 21:15Speaker 1: a song he didn't even write?
- 21:16Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:17Speaker 1: Oh, no. She goes, I love Elvis. I can't do it. Wow.
- 21:22Speaker 1: And turned him down.
- 21:23Speaker 3: Can't even imagine that.
- 21:25Speaker 1: Which, to think about that now is one thing, but
- 21:27Speaker 1: back then when Elvis was the peak of his career
- 21:31Speaker 1: and the biggest thing on the planet- She said no.
- 21:34Speaker 3: Boss move.
- 21:35Speaker 1: Because not only did it just didn't make sense financially,
- 21:39Speaker 1: but she goes, that's just not right. She's like, I'm
- 21:41Speaker 1: not going to do it. She turned him down, said sorry.
- 21:44Speaker 1: And obviously Whitney Houston, when the bodyguard came out, redid it.
- 21:49Speaker 1: And she made millions, millions of dollars. And then another
- 21:55Speaker 1: thing awesome about Dolly is she put all those millions
- 21:58Speaker 1: back in to areas that Whitney Houston grew up in. Yeah.
- 22:03Speaker 1: Which she had ties in. Millions of dollars. And even
- 22:07Speaker 1: built an office that was dedicated to Whitney. Built a
- 22:10Speaker 1: $ 10 million office to do charitable things.
- 22:12Speaker 3: I had no idea.
- 22:13Speaker 1: Yeah. Which, you know, I think makes it special because,
- 22:17Speaker 1: you know, Dolly grew up extremely poor. Like one of what,
- 22:22Speaker 1: 12 kids? And she grew up to the point where
- 22:24Speaker 1: they didn't even know where the next meal was coming from.
- 22:27Speaker 1: Matter of fact, I read that her dad... I forget
- 22:30Speaker 1: what it was, but he gave the doctor who delivered
- 22:34Speaker 1: her like flour or something as payment because he didn't
- 22:38Speaker 1: have money.
- 22:39Speaker 4: Wow.
- 22:40Speaker 1: So he had to give her like that's how poor
- 22:43Speaker 1: she grew up. So when you think about the wealth
- 22:46Speaker 1: that she built and everything that she did and the
- 22:48Speaker 1: way she gave back, she could have been a billionaire,
- 22:50Speaker 1: people say. But she just didn't want all that money
- 22:54Speaker 1: to herself. Yeah. She's like, I'd rather give the money away. Right.
- 22:58Speaker 1: And build stuff and give.
- 23:00Speaker 3: That's what legacy is really about.
- 23:02Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, it's just, I don't know. It's just
- 23:04Speaker 1: fascinating to me. And, you know, and even the, the,
- 23:07Speaker 1: her marriage is, is beautiful. Her marriage to the man
- 23:10Speaker 1: she was married to passed away. What last year? He
- 23:14Speaker 1: was never in the spotlight.
- 23:16Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 23:16Speaker 1: Never because he just didn't want to be.
- 23:18Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 23:18Speaker 1: And she met him on the first day she moved
- 23:21Speaker 1: to Nashville.
- 23:22Speaker 4: Wow.
- 23:23Speaker 1: First day she moved to Nashville. She met him outside
- 23:25Speaker 1: of a laundromat. They fell in love and they were
- 23:27Speaker 1: married for what? Over like 50 years. And he said,
- 23:30Speaker 1: you know what? Fame is not my thing. I'll support
- 23:32Speaker 1: you and I'll be around you no matter what. But
- 23:34Speaker 1: I don't want to live this life. But I'm with
- 23:36Speaker 1: you no matter what. But he owned a pavement company,
- 23:38Speaker 1: like a paving company. And that's what he did. And
- 23:41Speaker 1: he's like, you know what? Yeah, Dolly, I'm here for you.
- 23:44Speaker 8: But.
- 23:45Speaker 1: I don't want to go to any more award shows.
- 23:46Speaker 1: I can't do it.
- 23:47Speaker 3: You do you.
- 23:48Speaker 1: Isn't it amazing?
- 23:50Speaker 4: It is.
- 23:50Speaker 3: I mean, generational talent. I mean, there'll never be another Dolly.
- 23:54Speaker 1: No, and I think that's why it's so sad. And,
- 23:57Speaker 1: you know, I think you can't be necessarily sad.
- 24:00Speaker 2: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 24:03Speaker 2: Kid in the morning.
- 24:04Speaker 4: Only on the new Mix 102.9.
- 24:06Speaker 1: Brand early on a Wednesday. Candace Lopez, what is going on?
- 24:09Speaker 3: Well, Six Flags Entertainment Corporation is relocating their corporate headquarters
- 24:13Speaker 3: from Charlotte, North Carolina to Arlington. Choctaw Stadium has served
- 24:18Speaker 3: as some of the corporate office for the company since 2020.
- 24:22Speaker 3: But that new headquarters in Arlington will serve as the
- 24:24Speaker 3: primary hub for corporate leadership and other business functions. That
- 24:27Speaker 3: relocation is expected to be done tomorrow. by March of
- 24:31Speaker 3: next year. That makes sense. Have them right there where
- 24:32Speaker 3: they can see, you know, all the action going on
- 24:35Speaker 3: at Six Flags over Texas.
- 24:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, every other headquarters and corporate office is
- 24:38Speaker 1: moving here. Come on.
- 24:39Speaker 3: Yeah, bring it. Guys, something new is coming from Uber.
- 24:42Speaker 3: They are now launching live video streaming for teen accounts.
- 24:46Speaker 3: So this feature will roll out across the country in
- 24:49Speaker 3: the coming weeks. I guess it's already in nine markets
- 24:52Speaker 3: in the U.S., but this will work using the driver's
- 24:55Speaker 3: selfie camera for the video feed. So basically, once the
- 24:59Speaker 3: ride starts, parents will get a notification if the video
- 25:02Speaker 3: stream is available. And then if they choose to watch it,
- 25:05Speaker 3: both the driver and their child will be notified immediately.
- 25:08Speaker 3: I guess only parent or guardian accounts they're saying linked
- 25:12Speaker 3: to the teen account can watch. And then Uber says,
- 25:15Speaker 3: you know, once the ride ends, no one has access
- 25:17Speaker 3: to the encrypted video.
- 25:18Speaker 1: Oh, good.
- 25:19Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 25:19Speaker 3: But I feel like that would make me feel way
- 25:21Speaker 3: more comfortable.
- 25:22Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. In a way. But I don't think you
- 25:24Speaker 1: should tell the Uber driver that they're being watched.
- 25:27Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 25:27Speaker 1: Like why?
- 25:28Speaker 3: I mean, I guess it has to come from their camera.
- 25:31Speaker 1: Yeah. But you can just access their camera for you.
- 25:33Speaker 1: I mean, that's an agreement Uber has with the, you know,
- 25:36Speaker 1: the driver.
- 25:36Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 25:37Speaker 1: And then, because if you know somebody's watching, you're going
- 25:39Speaker 1: to be in your best behavior.
- 25:40Speaker 3: Yeah, well, I hope you would be in any ways,
- 25:43Speaker 3: you know?
- 25:43Speaker 1: Well, yeah, you would think so. I mean, my son
- 25:45Speaker 1: uses it sometimes in rare cases. Yeah. And it's been good.
- 25:50Speaker 6: Good.
- 25:50Speaker 1: It always makes me a little bit nervous, but it's
- 25:52Speaker 1: been good.
- 25:53Speaker 3: Yeah, you're braver than I am. I don't know if
- 25:55Speaker 3: I could put my kid in an Uber.
- 25:56Speaker 1: Well, I mean.
- 25:57Speaker 3: Yeah, maybe when he's an actual teen.
- 25:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, my kid's 15.
- 26:00Speaker 8: He's not.
- 26:01Speaker 1: Right.
- 26:02Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 26:02Speaker 1: Not eight years old going, Hey, good luck kid.
- 26:04Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure. Uh, guys, another shoe brand is going
- 26:08Speaker 3: viral after debuting barefoot heels. Uh, if you remember Chanel
- 26:12Speaker 3: was the first to drop these for around $.
- 26:15Speaker 2: 2, 000.
- 26:16Speaker 3: Basically it was a shoe, but it was basically just
- 26:18Speaker 3: a heel. Um, your toes in the front half of
- 26:21Speaker 3: your foot were touching the ground. I remember seeing this,
- 26:24Speaker 3: it was going viral and now Jeffrey Campbell has a
- 26:27Speaker 3: pair of At a fraction of the cost, the shoe
- 26:29Speaker 3: is getting roasted online, though. Someone even calling them the
- 26:32Speaker 3: Tetanus 2000s. You can't call these shoes, though.
- 26:37Speaker 1: No. So it's basically just a heel that's propping your
- 26:40Speaker 1: heel up, and that's it? How is it strapped on?
- 26:42Speaker 3: Yeah, I think it goes around your ankle so it
- 26:45Speaker 3: doesn't fall off.
- 26:46Speaker 1: This has got to be just done just for, you know,
- 26:49Speaker 1: people to start talking about. That way they know your brand.
- 26:52Speaker 3: Definitely, because I literally can't think of one person who
- 26:55Speaker 3: would actually wear these.
- 26:56Speaker 1: You know? I don't know. I mean, maybe we should
- 26:59Speaker 1: put Poo and I in a pair for a day.
- 27:00Speaker 1: How much do they cost?
- 27:02Speaker 3: I mean, the Jeffrey Campbell version, I don't know the price,
- 27:04Speaker 3: but those shoes range. I mean, they're not cheap shoes
- 27:07Speaker 3: by any means. A couple hundred bucks probably.
- 27:09Speaker 1: Who's Jeffrey Campbell?
- 27:10Speaker 3: He's a designer.
- 27:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 27:12Speaker 3: He has some really cool shoes.
- 27:13Speaker 8: All right.
- 27:13Speaker 3: But I'm definitely not wearing half a shoe.
- 27:16Speaker 1: We lost a bet one time where we had to
- 27:17Speaker 1: wear heels for a day. Yeah, we did. I don't
- 27:19Speaker 1: know how you ladies do it.
- 27:20Speaker 3: Yeah, it's awful.
- 27:21Speaker 1: It is. I was struggling that day.
- 27:22Speaker 3: I was fine in my 20s. I did it every day.
- 27:24Speaker 1: You did?
- 27:25Speaker 3: Today, no.
- 27:26Speaker 1: Oh, Pooh looked like Bambi on them.
- 27:28Speaker 3: I'm sure. I'm sure.
- 27:30Speaker 7: We looked ugly in heels. I look like one of
- 27:33Speaker 7: them ants that cook a real good Thanksgiving. I'm telling you,
- 27:36Speaker 7: them ankles. I wouldn't call them ankles. They were definitely cankles.
- 27:42Speaker 1: You know how you had certain lunch lady ankles? That's
- 27:48Speaker 1: what I call them.
- 27:49Speaker 3: For sure.
- 27:49Speaker 1: That's what Pooh looked like.
- 27:52Speaker 3: Glad I missed that phase, Pooh. All right, I'm Candace Lopez.
- 27:56Speaker 3: Those are your Texas Top Stories.
- 27:58Speaker 1: We are getting ready for Dirty Little Secret. Plus, we
- 28:00Speaker 1: got the banger. It's Mix 102.9. Ability Kid, Candace Lopez.
- 28:04Speaker 1: Producer Pooh is here. Oh, this had me cracking up.
- 28:07Speaker 1: Before we do the banger... Some posts went viral. They
- 28:11Speaker 1: were talking about the internet memories we have from back
- 28:13Speaker 1: in the day. You just go, wow, I can't believe that.
- 28:17Speaker 1: And some of the websites that were on there. You
- 28:20Speaker 1: talk about a trip down memory lane. You want to
- 28:22Speaker 1: hear some of the memories?
- 28:22Speaker 3: Yeah, like free YouTube.
- 28:24Speaker 1: So free YouTube. Somebody else mentioned chat roulette.
- 28:28Speaker 3: Chat roulette.
- 28:28Speaker 1: Do you remember chat roulette?
- 28:30Speaker 3: No, I don't remember that.
- 28:31Speaker 1: Back in the day. Oh, yeah.
- 28:32Speaker 3: I went in the chat rooms, though.
- 28:34Speaker 1: Yahoo Games.
- 28:35Speaker 8: Yes.
- 28:35Speaker 1: Yahoo Games. Oh, yeah, I remember that. This is the
- 28:38Speaker 1: website that I was just addicted to back in the day.
- 28:40Speaker 1: E-bombs world. Oh, yeah. Remember E-bombs world? Oh, my gosh.
- 28:46Speaker 1: So many, like, inappropriate, crazy things on there. Somebody mentioned Napster. Okay. Okay,
- 28:51Speaker 1: of course.
- 28:52Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 28:53Speaker 1: Ask Jeeves.
- 28:54Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 28:55Speaker 3: That was like how we found search things.
- 28:57Speaker 1: Yeah. There was no Google.
- 28:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 28:59Speaker 1: Which is weird to think about. AOL Instant Messenger.
- 29:01Speaker 3: All day, every day.
- 29:02Speaker 1: I don't remember this one. Neopets?
- 29:04Speaker 3: Neopets?
- 29:05Speaker 1: I don't remember that one.
- 29:06Speaker 4: Neopets.
- 29:06Speaker 3: I remember the name. I don't think I was young
- 29:08Speaker 3: enough to be messing with that.
- 29:10Speaker 1: And then the one they mentioned the most was MySpace.
- 29:13Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 29:13Speaker 1: Of course, which obviously people are talking about making it
- 29:16Speaker 1: a comeback and But then people were mentioning other weird
- 29:18Speaker 1: things that they would do on the Internet. And somebody
- 29:20Speaker 1: mentioned the hamster dance. Remember the.
- 29:24Speaker 2: Hamster?
- 29:25Speaker 1: Yes. The way we used to use the Internet was
- 29:28Speaker 1: kind of sweet, innocent, and just wild. Yeah. WebMonkey. Did
- 29:32Speaker 1: you guys use that? No, I don't remember WebMonkey.
- 29:34Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 29:35Speaker 3: It was a whole, like, tutorial. You could learn how to, like,
- 29:37Speaker 3: make websites.
- 29:38Speaker 7: Uh pood did you use something on the internet oh
- 29:40Speaker 7: yeah limewire or bear share limewire yeah.
- 29:45Speaker 1: It did oh and you would ruin your family's computer
- 29:49Speaker 1: oh yeah Let it get a virus or something. Oh,
- 29:52Speaker 1: you would basically shut down and kill your entire computer,
- 29:56Speaker 1: your home PC, so you could burn a mixtape for
- 30:02Speaker 1: your boo.
- 30:03Speaker 3: Yeah, that Norton antivirus would always pop up.
- 30:06Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, it would, always. All because you wanted no
- 30:10Speaker 1: strings attached by NSYNC. Or some random.
- 30:14Speaker 3: I just wanted it in a different order.
- 30:16Speaker 7: Right.
- 30:16Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 30:17Speaker 3: I already had the music, but I wanted it in
- 30:19Speaker 3: my order.
- 30:19Speaker 1: Yes. See, I would always find random hip-hop songs that
- 30:22Speaker 1: I wanted from back in the day. Yep. And then
- 30:25Speaker 1: I couldn't even use my computer after that. It was
- 30:27Speaker 1: just over. It was just over. Yeah. Confess. Get it
- 30:32Speaker 1: off your chest.
- 30:33Speaker 2: It's Dirty Little Secret with Billy the Kid in the
- 30:36Speaker 2: Morning on Mix 102.9. Brought to you by Mint Dentistry.
- 30:40Speaker 1: Are you ready? Here we go. If you have a secret,
- 30:42Speaker 1: it's Billy the Kid, Candace Lopez, Producer Poot. You bring
- 30:44Speaker 1: it on. You tell us. You confess. Just get it
- 30:46Speaker 1: off your chest. You'll feel better about your life. You
- 30:48Speaker 1: don't need all these secrets when it's 101 out.
- 30:50Speaker 4: Right.
- 30:51Speaker 1: You know, it just makes you hot.
- 30:53Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 30:53Speaker 1: You just, you got to get.
- 30:54Speaker 4: It, let it go.
- 30:55Speaker 3: You can't sweat them out.
- 30:56Speaker 1: You can't sweat them out. So you just got to
- 30:57Speaker 1: tell us. Okay. What is your confession? Now you got one.
- 31:01Speaker 1: So what is going on?
- 31:01Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 31:02Speaker 1: So, okay.
- 31:03Speaker 6: I'm hiding something from my boyfriend and this is actually
- 31:07Speaker 6: the second year.
- 31:07Speaker 5: In a row that I've done it.
- 31:09Speaker 6: Every year I go on a, I tell them going
- 31:12Speaker 6: on my annual girls trip, except there's no girls trips.
- 31:17Speaker 3: Oh, really? What?
- 31:18Speaker 1: No. You tell him you're going on a girl's trip.
- 31:21Speaker 1: There's no girl's trip. Where are you going?
- 31:24Speaker 6: I go back to my hometown for a few days
- 31:27Speaker 6: completely by myself.
- 31:29Speaker 4: Oh, wow.
- 31:30Speaker 6: I love my boyfriend very, very much. We've been together
- 31:33Speaker 6: almost three years. I've never cheated on him, and I
- 31:36Speaker 6: never would. I just desperately need a break.
- 31:40Speaker 1: Well, and I think that's reasonable, but why not just
- 31:43Speaker 1: be honest about it? Yeah, tell him.
- 31:45Speaker 6: Well, my boyfriend is extremely clingy. He wants to do
- 31:48Speaker 6: everything together. If I'm watching TV, he wants to watch
- 31:51Speaker 6: with me. If I'm running errands, he wants to come.
- 31:54Speaker 6: If I have plans, yeah, he wants to know what
- 31:56Speaker 6: I'm doing, what.
- 31:57Speaker 5: We're doing afterward.
- 31:58Speaker 6: It's actually gotten worse the longer we've been together.
- 32:01Speaker 4: Wow.
- 32:02Speaker 3: He's codependent.
- 32:03Speaker 1: Yeah, he's codependent. But I mean, like maybe if anything
- 32:06Speaker 1: in relationships, I've had a problem in the past because
- 32:09Speaker 1: I'm too independent. Yeah. And I like my time, so
- 32:12Speaker 1: I get this, but it just looks shady.
- 32:14Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 32:14Speaker 1: It does.
- 32:16Speaker 6: I need alone time to function, you know? Like, I
- 32:19Speaker 6: just can't deal with someone by my side all the time.
- 32:22Speaker 6: So once a year, I tell them I'm meeting up
- 32:24Speaker 6: with girls that I went to college with, pack my bags,
- 32:27Speaker 6: and I disappear for a few days.
- 32:29Speaker 1: And he's just like, cool, have a good time. And
- 32:31Speaker 1: you're just doing your own thing. You're just, I mean,
- 32:33Speaker 1: are you doing things there that he wouldn't want to
- 32:36Speaker 1: know about? And I know you said no cheating, but
- 32:38Speaker 1: is it anything that might be weird or bizarre?
- 32:41Speaker 5: Well, you know, I don't lie about where I'm going.
- 32:43Speaker 5: I really do go back home.
- 32:45Speaker 6: I might see one or two friends while I'm there,
- 32:48Speaker 6: but that's mostly about it.
- 32:51Speaker 5: I sleep in.
- 32:51Speaker 6: I get coffee by myself, go shopping. I eat wherever
- 32:55Speaker 6: I want, and I watch terrible TV in my hotel room.
- 32:58Speaker 6: I don't answer to anybody.
- 33:00Speaker 8: Okay.
- 33:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 33:02Speaker 3: I'm not mad at that.
- 33:03Speaker 1: You refresh. You just kind of like a little reset,
- 33:05Speaker 1: and you need that. No, I do get that.
- 33:07Speaker 3: I think everyone needs a reset. It doesn't have to
- 33:09Speaker 3: be from your boyfriend or your partner, but from your work.
- 33:12Speaker 3: I mean, just from the change of pace you need,
- 33:15Speaker 3: a change of scenery.
- 33:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 33:16Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 33:17Speaker 1: But I don't like the fact that you say he's clingy. That,
- 33:20Speaker 1: to me, is a little red flag, but whatever. It is.
- 33:22Speaker 3: It is for me, too.
- 33:23Speaker 1: Why are you in a relationship with him if he's
- 33:25Speaker 1: that clingy? Well, you can love someone, and they're not perfect.
- 33:28Speaker 1: It's just, you know, I've dealt with that before.
- 33:31Speaker 3: Yeah, but if it's getting worse over time, you would
- 33:33Speaker 3: think it would be less clingy over time.
- 33:36Speaker 5: But now there.
- 33:37Speaker 6: Is, like, one other detail that's probably going to make
- 33:40Speaker 6: this sound approximately 500 times shadier.
- 33:42Speaker 2: Okay.
- 33:43Speaker 1: Why?
- 33:43Speaker 2: Why?
- 33:46Speaker 6: Well, when I'm back home I usually have lunch with
- 33:50Speaker 6: my ex.
- 33:51Speaker 1: There we go.
- 33:52Speaker 3: There it is.
- 33:53Speaker 7: Come on, girl.
- 33:54Speaker 1: I was on your side. There it is. Oh, man.
- 33:57Speaker 1: There it is right there. Wait.
- 33:59Speaker 5: Wait.
- 34:00Speaker 3: Wait.
- 34:03Speaker 5: Wait, what?
- 34:03Speaker 6: 500 times shadier. Listen, he came out of the closet
- 34:06Speaker 6: years ago. He doesn't even date women anymore.
- 34:08Speaker 2: What?
- 34:09Speaker 4: Oh.
- 34:09Speaker 1: We dated forever. Yes.
- 34:11Speaker 6: We dated forever ago and stayed friends. And once a year,
- 34:14Speaker 6: we grab lunch and catch up. There's absolutely nothing romantic happening.
- 34:19Speaker 1: So he doesn't... Okay, so now he doesn't even like women. Okay.
- 34:26Speaker 3: Does your boyfriend know, like, even this generic situation that
- 34:30Speaker 3: this is his, you know, lifestyle?
- 34:31Speaker 1: That really happens where you date someone and all of
- 34:33Speaker 1: a sudden it's like they come out of the closet
- 34:35Speaker 1: and then, sorry, yeah, that would mess with my head.
- 34:39Speaker 3: Yeah, it does mess with people.
- 34:40Speaker 1: It would. Happened to me. I dated a girl named Tori. Wait,
- 34:45Speaker 1: you did? Yeah, I dated a girl. You remember Tori
- 34:48Speaker 1: from Denton? Yeah, she has a wife now. really yeah
- 34:53Speaker 1: after poo she was like forget this all right yeah
- 34:58Speaker 1: so you don't want to tell your boyfriend that.
- 35:00Speaker 6: Though yeah my boyfriend is absolutely not no because this
- 35:05Speaker 6: man would spontaneously combust like he's already insecure.
- 35:10Speaker 1: Even if he knows that you're the guy's not even
- 35:12Speaker 1: into women anymore or he would probably think you're just
- 35:14Speaker 1: saying that maybe to make him.
- 35:15Speaker 6: Feel better yeah it's Yeah, it doesn't matter.
- 35:18Speaker 5: He's already insecure.
- 35:20Speaker 6: So if I told him I went on vacation alone,
- 35:22Speaker 6: he'd already asked 5 billion questions like, where are you going?
- 35:26Speaker 5: Who are you seeing?
- 35:27Speaker 1: Why don't you want me there?
- 35:28Speaker 6: Why can't I come? And then if I throw in, oh,
- 35:31Speaker 6: and I'm having lunch with my ex, I might as
- 35:33Speaker 6: well just light my whole relationship on fire.
- 35:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I see that. If he's already kind of like that.
- 35:39Speaker 1: But in his defense, though, I swear I've been in
- 35:42Speaker 1: relationships where every– They have a bunch of guy friends,
- 35:45Speaker 1: and according to them, they're all gay. Yeah, that's true. Oh, no,
- 35:52Speaker 1: he's gay. And then I meet him, I'm like, this
- 35:54Speaker 1: dude's not gay. Really? Ain't no way. No.
- 35:57Speaker 3: Wow.
- 35:57Speaker 6: Well, yeah, like, he's definitely gay, but I... I am
- 36:01Speaker 6: definitely lying, and I know that's probably not healthy, but
- 36:04Speaker 6: I'm not cheating.
- 36:05Speaker 5: I'm not partying with random guys.
- 36:08Speaker 6: I'm literally just hiding from the world, ordering takeout, and
- 36:11Speaker 6: enjoying the fact that nobody needs anything from me.
- 36:13Speaker 1: There's nothing wrong with that. So if he finds out,
- 36:16Speaker 1: just be prepared for the wrath of it being shady,
- 36:18Speaker 1: because then no matter what you say, he's going to
- 36:20Speaker 1: be like, you are a liar.
- 36:22Speaker 3: If he's already clingy and insecure, that's a recipe for disaster.
- 36:26Speaker 1: You might have to get back with your ex.
- 36:28Speaker 4: No.
- 36:29Speaker 1: No. If he'll have you.
- 36:31Speaker 5: Oh, no.
- 36:32Speaker 1: Yeah, you never know. They never say never. People go
- 36:34Speaker 1: back and forth sometimes.
- 36:35Speaker 3: That's true.
- 36:36Speaker 1: I know people who do that.
- 36:37Speaker 3: I do, too.
- 36:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 36:39Speaker 3: If they just find happiness, that's all I care about.
- 36:41Speaker 1: Yeah, whatever makes you happy. I'm not judging. If one
- 36:44Speaker 1: week you like guys, next week you like girls, listen, Pooh,
- 36:46Speaker 1: we're going to embrace you. Oh, no, you didn't.
- 36:49Speaker 3: Love is love.
- 36:50Speaker 1: Thank you so much. And let us know what happens, okay?
- 36:54Speaker 6: Yeah, for sure, guys. Thank you.
- 36:55Speaker 1: You're welcome. Love is love. I totally forgot about that
- 36:59Speaker 1: girl that Pooh dated in Denton.
- 37:01Speaker 3: I don't think I knew that.
- 37:02Speaker 1: Yeah. I don't remember her. You dated her for a while. Yeah,
- 37:06Speaker 1: me and Tori got for a minute. How now? I mean,
- 37:08Speaker 1: we dated for a minute. We dated for a minute.
- 37:10Speaker 1: You can't just say it.
- 37:11Speaker 4: Right.
- 37:12Speaker 1: We dated for a minute. Did she break up with
- 37:13Speaker 1: you and then immediately get married to a woman?
- 37:15Speaker 7: No, not immediately, but, like, there was tendencies, you know
- 37:19Speaker 7: what I mean?
- 37:21Speaker 1: No, I don't.
- 37:22Speaker 4: That's the thing.
- 37:23Speaker 7: I noticed the change in her appearance, which I was like, hey,
- 37:26Speaker 7: you don't dress the same.
- 37:28Speaker 1: Really?
- 37:29Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 37:29Speaker 1: But you two were still dating. No, like, after we
- 37:32Speaker 1: broke up. Oh, okay. Why did you break up? Did
- 37:35Speaker 1: she need space, too?
- 37:36Speaker 4: No.
- 37:36Speaker 1: Space for men?
- 37:37Speaker 4: No. The new Mix 102.9.
- 37:45Speaker 2: It's time for Candice Court. It gets settled here with
- 37:49Speaker 2: Billy the Kid in the morning.
- 37:50Speaker 1: All rise for the Honorable Judge Candice Lopez. Here she is.
- 37:54Speaker 1: It's freezing in the studio, so she has two bucky
- 37:56Speaker 1: blankets on.
- 37:56Speaker 6: I'm so cold.
- 37:57Speaker 1: Today, I mean, literally, you just have to keep blankets
- 37:59Speaker 1: and hoodies here.
- 38:00Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 38:00Speaker 1: Because it's either 5,000 degrees in the studio or 20.
- 38:03Speaker 3: Yeah, there's no files in this filing cabinet. It's blankets
- 38:06Speaker 3: and hoodies.
- 38:07Speaker 1: It's all blankets and hoodies. It's Mix 102.9. Here we go.
- 38:09Speaker 1: Candice Court, if you've got an issue you want Candice
- 38:11Speaker 1: to help you with, At Candace On Air on Instagram,
- 38:14Speaker 1: at Candace On Air, we get all kinds of different
- 38:16Speaker 1: problems that come in. It could be relationships. It could
- 38:19Speaker 1: be a co-worker situation. It could be anything. So this
- 38:21Speaker 1: one is, well, this guy seems like he's mad at
- 38:24Speaker 1: his parents. He says, I don't really know who to
- 38:27Speaker 1: talk to this about because none of my friends can relate,
- 38:29Speaker 1: so I'm bringing it to Candace Court. I graduated this year,
- 38:33Speaker 1: but I didn't go to college this month or start
- 38:36Speaker 1: a job because my parents and I are pretty much
- 38:39Speaker 1: in a standoff. They want me to go to college
- 38:43Speaker 1: and have offered to pay for it, but the problem
- 38:45Speaker 1: is I don't want to go. I asked them to
- 38:49Speaker 1: just give me the money they would put towards college
- 38:53Speaker 1: for me to start a business. I don't understand the difference.
- 38:59Speaker 1: If they are willing to invest in my future, then
- 39:02Speaker 1: just do it. Who cares if I go to college
- 39:04Speaker 1: or not? I have a business plan. I just need
- 39:07Speaker 1: the money. And they clearly have it, and they are
- 39:10Speaker 1: holding it hostage. We've been going back and forth about this,
- 39:15Speaker 1: but I just don't get it. So I'm not going
- 39:17Speaker 1: to go to college, and I guess we'll just sit
- 39:18Speaker 1: here in this standoff. Candace Court, can you please help? Yes,
- 39:22Speaker 1: we can. Candace, okay.
- 39:24Speaker 4: Wow.
- 39:24Speaker 1: It's a good one.
- 39:25Speaker 3: Yeah. Never had one like this before.
- 39:28Speaker 1: Yeah, because I think that... is something that's happening more
- 39:31Speaker 1: and more lately yeah where you know and there's nothing
- 39:35Speaker 1: wrong with college I went for a little, a little bit.
- 39:38Speaker 1: I mean, I just couldn't really get into it.
- 39:40Speaker 3: It's not for everybody. We have to face the fact that,
- 39:43Speaker 3: you know, I agree with you. The traditional route of
- 39:46Speaker 3: college equals job equals financial security equals house, whatever doesn't
- 39:50Speaker 3: exactly add up anymore.
- 39:52Speaker 4: Right.
- 39:52Speaker 1: Do I encourage my son at 15? He's, you know,
- 39:55Speaker 1: just started high school. Do I encourage him to go?
- 39:57Speaker 5: Yes.
- 39:57Speaker 1: Yeah. If he wants to. Yes. Um, But I also
- 40:01Speaker 1: would absolutely tell him the truth on the situation and
- 40:04Speaker 1: say that it doesn't guarantee you a job.
- 40:06Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 40:07Speaker 1: It doesn't guarantee you anything in life. So you have
- 40:09Speaker 1: to work hard and you have to figure things out
- 40:11Speaker 1: for yourself sometimes. And getting an education is never bad. No.
- 40:15Speaker 1: But it's also, too, I will never knock anybody if
- 40:18Speaker 1: they want to go to a trade school or they
- 40:20Speaker 1: want to learn a trade.
- 40:21Speaker 3: Absolutely.
- 40:22Speaker 1: Then you do that. Yeah.
- 40:24Speaker 3: I mean, everything is changing so fast right now with technology.
- 40:27Speaker 3: I mean, who knows what we're going to be saying
- 40:28Speaker 3: about education in the next 10 years. I have a
- 40:33Speaker 3: four-year degree. I'm happy about that. And for some people,
- 40:36Speaker 3: I didn't need that degree for this particular job, but
- 40:39Speaker 3: I wasn't sure exactly which route in broadcasting I was
- 40:42Speaker 3: going to go in. If I wanted to be on
- 40:43Speaker 3: TV news like I did, you had to have a degree.
- 40:46Speaker 3: And that's part of the reason I got it. And
- 40:47Speaker 3: some people just... have college for the experience and the
- 40:50Speaker 3: people they meet and the networking and, you know, all
- 40:52Speaker 3: different sorts of experiences that, you know, are important besides education.
- 40:57Speaker 1: Which is important. I think that social aspect is pretty
- 41:00Speaker 1: important too. Am I the only one on this show
- 41:02Speaker 1: that doesn't have a college degree? Yeah.
- 41:05Speaker 3: Do you have one?
- 41:05Speaker 1: I have an associate.
- 41:06Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 41:07Speaker 1: Okay.
- 41:07Speaker 3: That's right.
- 41:08Speaker 7: Cause I got in trouble at Navarro and then I
- 41:11Speaker 7: got shipped off to the army, but I was able
- 41:13Speaker 7: to get it.
- 41:13Speaker 1: That's right. Before I shipped out.
- 41:15Speaker 3: I guess so. And look, you're doing great.
- 41:17Speaker 1: I don't know. No, you're doing good. But it's not
- 41:21Speaker 1: for everybody. I agree with his parents, though. If I'm
- 41:24Speaker 1: paying for it, you got to go. See, that's such
- 41:26Speaker 1: an old school way to think. I mean, it's not wrong.
- 41:28Speaker 1: It's not right. I don't know. There's no right or
- 41:30Speaker 1: wrong answer.
- 41:31Speaker 3: Right.
- 41:32Speaker 1: But to me, like, I've already had this conversation with
- 41:34Speaker 1: my son because he's very, you know, he has like
- 41:36Speaker 1: a entrepreneurial spirit to him, even at a young age.
- 41:40Speaker 1: And he always has. And he's told me before, like, hey, dad,
- 41:43Speaker 1: if I had an idea for a business, would you
- 41:46Speaker 1: back it up? Yeah. And I was like, yeah, 100 percent.
- 41:48Speaker 1: If I believe in it, I'm also, though, too, going
- 41:51Speaker 1: to make you prove to me that it's worth it.
- 41:53Speaker 1: So you have to come with a proper business plan
- 41:56Speaker 1: and have it figured out. But if he were to
- 41:58Speaker 1: come to me and say that, hey, dad, instead of
- 42:01Speaker 1: going to college, I have an idea for this business
- 42:04Speaker 1: and I truly believed in it. I would I think
- 42:07Speaker 1: I would do this. I think I'd back him up
- 42:08Speaker 1: and go, OK, then you know what? I'm going to
- 42:10Speaker 1: give you the money. And it's risky.
- 42:14Speaker 4: Right.
- 42:15Speaker 1: Like every business. But yeah, if I truly believe in
- 42:18Speaker 1: him and I believe, why not?
- 42:20Speaker 7: I mean, I believe in my kids wholeheartedly, but if
- 42:22Speaker 7: they told me, hey, I want to forego college and.
- 42:26Speaker 1: Just give me the money? No.
- 42:27Speaker 7: But let me ask you this. I want you to
- 42:29Speaker 7: go and at least experience it because I'm not going
- 42:32Speaker 7: to just dump some money. I'm going to invest in you,
- 42:35Speaker 7: and then what if it flops? And then plus, me
- 42:37Speaker 7: investing in you, now it's our business. Now I've got
- 42:40Speaker 7: to help you with your business.
- 42:43Speaker 1: Not necessarily, but my whole thing is, to me, when
- 42:46Speaker 1: I was in college, it wasn't what I wanted to do.
- 42:49Speaker 1: I was going for criminal justice because, yeah, I was
- 42:52Speaker 1: already starting to DJ and even kind of on the radio.
- 42:56Speaker 1: where I grew up, but I just thought that it
- 42:58Speaker 1: wasn't a real career. So I started going, oh, I'm
- 43:00Speaker 1: going to get a degree in criminal justice. I will,
- 43:03Speaker 1: I would have done it for a backup plan, but
- 43:05Speaker 1: if I would have been forced to stay in it,
- 43:07Speaker 1: I would have, I wouldn't be here.
- 43:08Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 43:09Speaker 1: I wouldn't be doing what I love every single day.
- 43:12Speaker 1: So if you take what he's doing, what you're, you're
- 43:15Speaker 1: just going to throw away the money anyway, if you're
- 43:17Speaker 1: going to college for something you don't love.
- 43:19Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 43:19Speaker 1: So you're just getting into a whole other thing of
- 43:22Speaker 1: I'm just going to go? Well, I don't want that either.
- 43:24Speaker 3: Yeah, you're not motivated.
- 43:25Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 43:25Speaker 3: You know, your money's not coming back.
- 43:28Speaker 1: It doesn't matter what we think. Candace Lopez, you have
- 43:31Speaker 1: come to a verdict.
- 43:32Speaker 3: Yeah, look, I think the parents are guilty here. Yeah,
- 43:35Speaker 3: your dad's a routing number Randy and your mom's an
- 43:37Speaker 3: account number Angie.
- 43:38Speaker 4: Oh!
- 43:40Speaker 3: Transfer the money and let's go.
- 43:41Speaker 1: Transfer the money and let's go.
- 43:44Speaker 3: We can't all sit here and do nothing. You know,
- 43:47Speaker 3: the reality is if the business fails, that's on you. Again,
- 43:50Speaker 3: the money's not coming back. You got to figure it out.
- 43:52Speaker 3: If you end up going to college after that on
- 43:54Speaker 3: your own, then you'll figure it out.
- 43:56Speaker 1: Take the risk on your kid.
- 43:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 43:57Speaker 1: I like it, Candace Lopez. I agree with this verdict.
- 44:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 44:00Speaker 1: This court is nothing but greatness.
- 44:04Speaker 2: It's texas top stories on the tens with billy the
- 44:06Speaker 2: kid in the.
- 44:06Speaker 4: Morning only on the new mix 102.9 so much.
- 44:10Speaker 1: Going on this morning candace lopez what's.
- 44:12Speaker 3: Up yeah well crews continue to battle multiple wildfires in
- 44:15Speaker 3: the north texas area this morning more than 80 000
- 44:18Speaker 3: acres have now burned in palo pinto and jack counties
- 44:22Speaker 3: this is affecting air quality in parts of the metroplex
- 44:25Speaker 3: i don't know if you could tell last night but
- 44:26Speaker 3: it seemed like there was like a A haze, for sure,
- 44:29Speaker 3: like an orange haze.
- 44:30Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, no, it was weird. It made for a
- 44:32Speaker 1: beautiful sunset, but then you know why it's happening. You're like, oh,
- 44:34Speaker 1: that's kind of scary.
- 44:35Speaker 3: Right, yeah, this fire is only about 12% contained. We
- 44:38Speaker 3: are going to have some winds. They're going to make
- 44:40Speaker 3: things a little more difficult again today. 101 for the high.
- 44:44Speaker 3: We do have a low chance of rain, so just
- 44:46Speaker 3: a heads up. Guys, an announcement from the State Fair
- 44:49Speaker 3: of Texas. They are changing up the live music experience
- 44:52Speaker 3: this year. So the Chevy main stage will be moving
- 44:56Speaker 3: inside when the fair opens on September 25th. Concerts are
- 45:00Speaker 3: free with admission. Now, this new stage will be inside
- 45:04Speaker 3: Fair Park Coliseum. Seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
- 45:09Speaker 3: They're saying this is going to open up more space
- 45:11Speaker 3: for new experiences where the Chevy main stage.
- 45:14Speaker 4: Used to be.
- 45:14Speaker 3: I feel like this is good if we just continue
- 45:16Speaker 3: this hot weather. I hope it cools down in time
- 45:19Speaker 3: for the fair, but who knows?
- 45:20Speaker 1: Yeah, it It's going to feel kind of weird at
- 45:21Speaker 1: first because that stage is just so iconic where it was.
- 45:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 45:25Speaker 1: I've had some good memories on that stage.
- 45:27Speaker 4: Right?
- 45:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 45:28Speaker 3: Really good shows.
- 45:29Speaker 1: I hosted the Fletcher's Corny Dog Eating Contest multiple years ago. Oh,
- 45:32Speaker 1: my God.
- 45:33Speaker 4: I forgot.
- 45:33Speaker 3: That's right.
- 45:34Speaker 1: And it's amazing how many corny dogs those guys have
- 45:37Speaker 1: put down.
- 45:37Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 45:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 45:38Speaker 7: For sure.
- 45:39Speaker 3: I don't know where they'll do that.
- 45:40Speaker 1: Pooh put down 71.
- 45:41Speaker 4: No.
- 45:41Speaker 1: Yes, he did.
- 45:42Speaker 3: No.
- 45:43Speaker 1: No.
- 45:45Speaker 3: They are going to make announcements soon on what will
- 45:48Speaker 3: happen in that space for the upcoming fair season. But
- 45:51Speaker 3: I'm excited, though. Our Denton boys bowling for soup. They'll
- 45:53Speaker 3: be on the Chevy main stage. Gym class heroes. Pretty
- 45:57Speaker 3: fun artists are going to be at the fair this year.
- 45:59Speaker 1: It's always good. I feel like it's just getting better
- 46:01Speaker 1: and better.
- 46:02Speaker 3: Yeah, definitely. Of course, the world is remembering Dolly Parton,
- 46:05Speaker 3: who passed away yesterday at the age of 80. Her
- 46:08Speaker 3: legacy will just live on forever. I mean, her decade
- 46:12Speaker 3: spanned six. Her career spanned six decades. She sold more
- 46:16Speaker 3: than 100 million records, maybe close to 150 million. You know,
- 46:21Speaker 3: she has her theme park. She just opened a travel stop,
- 46:24Speaker 3: which she was really proud.
- 46:25Speaker 1: Of, too.
- 46:26Speaker 3: Just a couple months ago there in Tennessee. But, man,
- 46:29Speaker 3: it's a lot to see all of these posts about
- 46:32Speaker 3: Dolly today.
- 46:33Speaker 1: Yeah, and it's all over my feed, and rightfully so,
- 46:35Speaker 1: because she deserves all the recognition. I just don't know
- 46:38Speaker 1: if we'll ever see another artist in our lifetime to
- 46:42Speaker 1: pass away and have this kind of impact, not just
- 46:44Speaker 1: in music, but also her charities and the stuff that
- 46:48Speaker 1: she did to give back that she didn't even talk
- 46:50Speaker 1: about was... It's next level.
- 46:53Speaker 4: Right.
- 46:53Speaker 3: I mean, just a list of things that, you know,
- 46:56Speaker 3: organizations she gave back to or started. And this news
- 46:59Speaker 3: came yesterday in a video from her nephew, which was
- 47:03Speaker 3: really special to see, I guess. You know, he had
- 47:05Speaker 3: already she had talked to him about that before he
- 47:08Speaker 3: made the video. But it was gut wrenching to watch
- 47:11Speaker 3: him talk about his aunt, Dolly.
- 47:13Speaker 1: I know. And she did. She didn't have kids. And
- 47:14Speaker 1: it was always kind of interesting to me why her
- 47:16Speaker 1: and her husband of what, 56 years or something.
- 47:19Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 47:20Speaker 1: I mean, they were married for that long and they
- 47:22Speaker 1: never had kids, but she said she never wanted to
- 47:23Speaker 1: have kids because it was too many kids that needed
- 47:25Speaker 1: her that weren't hers. Yeah. And she was just from
- 47:28Speaker 1: her book club to the things that she did was,
- 47:31Speaker 1: I mean, she, she literally changed the world.
- 47:34Speaker 3: A hundred percent. A hundred percent. A small memorial service
- 47:37Speaker 3: we're hearing will be held in Nashville. She'll be laid
- 47:39Speaker 3: to rest. I'm hearing in her signature high heels. So
- 47:42Speaker 3: rest in peace to Dolly Parton. I'm Candace Lopez. Those
- 47:45Speaker 3: are your Texas top stories.
- 47:47Speaker 1: We got a hot take of the day coming up next.
- 47:49Speaker 1: It's Mix 102.9. Bill of the Kid, Candace Lopez is here.
- 47:52Speaker 1: Producer Poo is here. Actually, this could be a hot take,
- 47:55Speaker 1: what I'm going to talk about, because something so bizarre
- 47:57Speaker 1: happened to me at the grocery store yesterday, and You know, Candace,
- 48:00Speaker 1: I know you love your grocery stores.
- 48:01Speaker 3: Oh, I do.
- 48:02Speaker 1: So does Pooh, oddly. Yes, I do. I hate them.
- 48:05Speaker 1: I don't want to go to them. I can't stand them,
- 48:07Speaker 1: especially with a broken hand. I can't. But I decided
- 48:09Speaker 1: to do it yesterday. I go. And listen, it was
- 48:12Speaker 1: at Tom Thumb. And I love Tom Thumb.
- 48:14Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 48:14Speaker 1: And I go to the same one all the time
- 48:16Speaker 1: in Carrollton. And I basically walk in. I start my
- 48:19Speaker 1: grocery shop. And I have a few things. And a
- 48:23Speaker 1: woman is walking towards me and looking at me in
- 48:25Speaker 1: the aisle. When I'm looking at beans. Okay. I don't
- 48:28Speaker 1: know why that's important, but I was looking at beans.
- 48:30Speaker 3: Yeah, that's important.
- 48:31Speaker 1: I'm saying that because I know Candace will be proud
- 48:33Speaker 1: of me. She knows she loves beans. She's the bean queen. Anyway,
- 48:37Speaker 1: they're walking up to the cart. It's a woman, and
- 48:39Speaker 1: she's got to be in her maybe, I don't know, 40s, 30s, 40s,
- 48:42Speaker 1: late 30s, 40s, whatever. Not that it even matters.
- 48:45Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 48:46Speaker 1: And she comes up to me, and she goes, sir.
- 48:48Speaker 1: And I was like, yeah, what's going on? And she goes,
- 48:50Speaker 1: is there any way you can help me pay for
- 48:52Speaker 1: my groceries?
- 48:53Speaker 3: Oh.
- 48:54Speaker 1: Right.
- 48:54Speaker 4: Right.
- 48:55Speaker 1: And so i'm like oh what's going on she's got
- 48:58Speaker 1: a whole cart a whole buggy full of groceries.
- 49:03Speaker 3: Isn't that what you call it some of us do yeah.
- 49:08Speaker 1: Some what do you mean some of.
- 49:09Speaker 3: Us do well sometimes i call it a buggy and
- 49:11Speaker 3: then i'm like oh i should call it a car
- 49:12Speaker 3: buggy's weird.
- 49:14Speaker 1: Is that country i guess the point is she walks
- 49:19Speaker 1: up to me, she has all these groceries. She's like,
- 49:22Speaker 1: is there any way you can help me pay for
- 49:23Speaker 1: my groceries? And I didn't know what she was, I mean,
- 49:25Speaker 1: I knew what she was talking about. I go, I
- 49:27Speaker 1: don't have any cash on me. Yeah. And she goes,
- 49:30Speaker 1: I don't need cash. I need you to pay for
- 49:32Speaker 1: my groceries.
- 49:32Speaker 6: Right.
- 49:33Speaker 3: Time to pay.
- 49:34Speaker 1: And I go, this is so awkward.
- 49:37Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 49:37Speaker 1: Because I have a big heart.
- 49:39Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 49:40Speaker 1: And I do want to help people. But at the
- 49:41Speaker 1: same time, I've never been approached at a grocery store. No.
- 49:45Speaker 1: And while I'm shopping.
- 49:48Speaker 4: Right.
- 49:48Speaker 3: On an aisle. I could see maybe at the checkout.
- 49:50Speaker 2: Right.
- 49:51Speaker 3: Or in front of or behind each other.
- 49:53Speaker 1: And here's where it gets weird. As I look into
- 49:55Speaker 1: her cart. Uh-huh. And it is all expensive stuff.
- 49:59Speaker 4: Oh, no.
- 50:00Speaker 8: Organic?
- 50:00Speaker 1: No, I mean, we're talking, she has ribeyes.
- 50:04Speaker 3: Oh, wow.
- 50:05Speaker 1: She's got, I mean, she's got steaks. She's got, like,
- 50:09Speaker 1: you know, I'm not talking Dr. Thunder. She's got, like,
- 50:11Speaker 1: three or four steaks. 12 packs of soda. Wow.
- 50:15Speaker 4: Tomahawk.
- 50:16Speaker 1: She's got, yeah, some Wagyu in there. Okay.
- 50:21Speaker 4: Wow.
- 50:21Speaker 1: She's got all this stuff.
- 50:22Speaker 3: She's got good taste.
- 50:23Speaker 1: Loaded down. She does. And I'm just like, I don't
- 50:26Speaker 1: know if I can help you right now. Maybe later on.
- 50:29Speaker 1: And she goes. And walks away. Oh, you lie. And
- 50:34Speaker 1: then I felt bad, but at the same time, I'm like,
- 50:36Speaker 1: does this happen? Has this happened to anybody else?
- 50:38Speaker 3: No, that's never happened to me.
- 50:39Speaker 1: It's happened to me, not in a grocery store, but
- 50:41Speaker 1: at the gas station.
- 50:42Speaker 3: Well, yeah, the gas station.
- 50:43Speaker 8: That's typical.
- 50:44Speaker 1: Yeah, but gas stations, I'm used to that happening. Can
- 50:46Speaker 1: you help me get some gas? Yeah, that's an old
- 50:48Speaker 1: school hustle. But then when I walked up to the front,
- 50:50Speaker 1: because I'm like, maybe I'll see her. And I'm not
- 50:52Speaker 1: going to buy all of her groceries because I just
- 50:55Speaker 1: don't feel comfortable. I'm going to probably try to help
- 50:57Speaker 1: her out and get some cash back and give her
- 50:59Speaker 1: a few bucks for her groceries. She was getting kicked out.
- 51:02Speaker 1: Are you serious? Yeah, they were like telling her to leave.
- 51:05Speaker 1: I don't know. And then... And then I see her
- 51:08Speaker 1: getting in a van with another guy that was there shopping.
- 51:11Speaker 1: It was weird.
- 51:13Speaker 3: Here's today's hot take.
- 51:14Speaker 1: It's 102.9. It's Bailey the Kid, Candace Lopez, producer Pooh. Oh,
- 51:18Speaker 1: by the way, I'm going to say out of Rachel
- 51:19Speaker 1: who just hit me up on Instagram. She said that's
- 51:21Speaker 1: a scam that's been going around for a while. She
- 51:22Speaker 1: works at a grocery store. Didn't say which one. No.
- 51:25Speaker 1: She said, I don't know if it's necessarily a scam,
- 51:27Speaker 1: but she said, be careful. Now people are approaching you
- 51:30Speaker 1: in the store asking you to pay for their groceries,
- 51:33Speaker 1: saying they don't have a family and they're trying to.
- 51:35Speaker 1: And then they go to their, you know, families in
- 51:37Speaker 1: the vans that are waiting for them.
- 51:38Speaker 3: Who's eating the ribeye then?
- 51:40Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 51:40Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 51:41Speaker 1: That was my whole deal is I felt bad all day. Like,
- 51:43Speaker 1: I should have helped her with her groceries, but I
- 51:45Speaker 1: didn't want to pay for all of them.
- 51:46Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 51:47Speaker 1: And if you're asking for groceries, should you really be
- 51:48Speaker 1: getting ribeye?
- 51:49Speaker 4: Right.
- 51:50Speaker 1: You know? I don't know. It's just kind of a...
- 51:51Speaker 1: I mean, if you're getting ribeye, where are we eating at? Yeah.
- 51:54Speaker 1: Where are we cooking?
- 51:55Speaker 7: Because if I'm paying for it, it's going to be
- 51:57Speaker 7: Texas Roadhouse at your house.
- 51:58Speaker 1: And no offense, if you're homeless, where are you cooking
- 52:00Speaker 1: this ribeye?
- 52:02Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 52:02Speaker 4: Like.
- 52:04Speaker 1: I just had so many questions. But I did feel
- 52:07Speaker 1: bad because I want to help at the same time.
- 52:09Speaker 1: So either way, hot take of the day, though. This
- 52:11Speaker 1: is something we got to talk about because a lot
- 52:12Speaker 1: of people are talking about it here in Texas because
- 52:15Speaker 1: it's so hot here right now. Right. We've been on
- 52:17Speaker 1: this heat wave for a little while today. One on one.
- 52:20Speaker 1: The other day was like one hundred nine. And people
- 52:22Speaker 1: are going back and forth whether it's appropriate or not
- 52:25Speaker 1: to wear shorts in the workplace. Oh, OK. Is it
- 52:29Speaker 1: OK to wear shorts? to work, what do you think?
- 52:33Speaker 1: And let us know.
- 52:33Speaker 4: 833-787-1029.
- 52:36Speaker 1: Candace, your thoughts on this?
- 52:37Speaker 3: I mean, I think you should be allowed to wear
- 52:40Speaker 3: shorts on the like day to day. If you have
- 52:43Speaker 3: like big professional meetings or presentations, I can see where
- 52:46Speaker 3: you may not want to wear shorts. It's a distraction
- 52:48Speaker 3: when you can see someone's legs like or their knees.
- 52:51Speaker 1: You know what I mean? Yeah, it is.
- 52:53Speaker 3: Well, I just mean, like, legs are interesting. And if
- 52:56Speaker 3: you've never seen someone's legs before for years in the
- 52:58Speaker 3: workplace and all of a sudden you see him, it's.
- 53:00Speaker 1: Like, quote of the day, legs are interesting. You know,
- 53:03Speaker 1: I mean, all twiggy. And so you're saying it's OK.
- 53:06Speaker 1: But at the same time, you're saying legs are distracting
- 53:09Speaker 1: day to day.
- 53:09Speaker 3: I think they're OK because then they will be less
- 53:11Speaker 3: distracting if you are.
- 53:12Speaker 1: So if I wear shorts every day, it's fine.
- 53:16Speaker 3: Yeah, but not jorts.
- 53:18Speaker 1: Not jorts.
- 53:18Speaker 3: They have to be like a professional, like trouser shorts.
- 53:21Speaker 1: Trouser shorts. Or like, yeah. Where do I get trouser shorts? Oh,
- 53:25Speaker 1: like those Target shorts. Wow.
- 53:26Speaker 3: Yeah, like maybe a nice khaki or like professional, business
- 53:32Speaker 3: casual shorts.
- 53:33Speaker 1: So you're saying it's okay, business casual shorts.
- 53:35Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 53:36Speaker 1: No matter what the job.
- 53:37Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 53:37Speaker 4: Okay.
- 53:38Speaker 1: I agree. All right. As long as they get the
- 53:40Speaker 1: job done. Why are you tripping? Let them wear shorts.
- 53:42Speaker 1: Nice polo. Okay. I see. I disagree. Why? Really? And
- 53:46Speaker 1: I know I'm a walking double standard right now because
- 53:48Speaker 1: I'm wearing shorts, but this is not a real job, people.
- 53:50Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 53:51Speaker 1: We don't have a real job. We were slobs. Nobody
- 53:55Speaker 1: sees us.
- 53:55Speaker 8: Hold on.
- 53:56Speaker 3: Some days, yeah.
- 53:57Speaker 1: That's the vibe. Well, not you, Candace, but Pooh and
- 53:59Speaker 1: I are slobs. Well, yeah. But like if Pooh, if
- 54:01Speaker 1: we had a normal job, for instance, if let's say, like,
- 54:04Speaker 1: I just don't want to see you in shorts. There
- 54:06Speaker 1: are certain jobs I don't really care. Like it's hot.
- 54:08Speaker 1: If you're outside and you're a sanitation worker, wear shorts.
- 54:11Speaker 1: For sure. If you're a UPS driver, I expect to
- 54:13Speaker 1: see you in shorts.
- 54:14Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 54:14Speaker 1: Shorts and a mustache. You know, I expect that. But
- 54:17Speaker 1: then there are certain jobs I just don't want to
- 54:19Speaker 1: see you in shorts. I don't want to, you know,
- 54:21Speaker 1: I'm not going to like Presbyterian getting ready for surgery
- 54:24Speaker 1: and my surgeon comes out in shorts.
- 54:25Speaker 3: Okay, well, that's different. But I think they have to
- 54:28Speaker 3: wear pants. Like, there's fluids and things they work with that, like,
- 54:31Speaker 3: they got to protect themselves.
- 54:32Speaker 1: You don't know that.
- 54:33Speaker 7: First of all, you're acting like you're a doctor, Pooh,
- 54:35Speaker 7: because you bought scrubs once. But my baby mama works
- 54:37Speaker 7: in the hospital industry, so I know about that.
- 54:39Speaker 1: Oh, so you're a doctor. Yeah.
- 54:41Speaker 4: Gotcha.
- 54:41Speaker 1: And plus, I've watched Grey's Anatomy. Oh, okay. So I'm
- 54:45Speaker 1: on it. Cops in shorts? I don't really want to
- 54:47Speaker 1: see that.
- 54:49Speaker 3: Yeah, we know you don't like that.
- 54:50Speaker 1: Yeah, you don't like that. And I love police officers,
- 54:52Speaker 1: and I respect law enforcement so much, but I just...
- 54:55Speaker 1: Every time I see a cop in shorts, it's like
- 54:57Speaker 1: seeing a cop on a Segway.
- 54:59Speaker 3: Yeah, but when they're at your window giving you a ticket,
- 55:01Speaker 3: they look the same.
- 55:02Speaker 1: Yeah, and especially if they're high shorts. No, it's not
- 55:06Speaker 1: the same, Candace.
- 55:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 55:07Speaker 1: Because if I look in my rear view and I
- 55:09Speaker 1: see a cop in shorts.
- 55:10Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 55:11Speaker 1: Just sitting there like.
- 55:12Speaker 3: Walking back.
- 55:12Speaker 1: Pulling me over. Mm-hmm. You just want to drive off.
- 55:16Speaker 1: I think I will. I think I'm going to run
- 55:17Speaker 1: from the. I don't even have any criminal record whatsoever. No.
- 55:20Speaker 1: But I'm just going to take. I'm going to write
- 55:21Speaker 1: him a ticket.
- 55:22Speaker 3: Yeah. For short shorts.
- 55:24Speaker 1: Fashion police. I'm going to immediately go, you know what, sir?
- 55:27Speaker 1: I'm sorry, but I'm reverse Uno. You're getting a ticket
- 55:31Speaker 1: today for showing those knees. I just don't think, I
- 55:33Speaker 1: don't like it.
- 55:34Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 55:34Speaker 1: But like you wearing shorts right now, Candace, do you
- 55:36Speaker 1: wear shorts?
- 55:37Speaker 3: Yeah, I have shorts on today.
- 55:38Speaker 1: Doesn't bother me. Yeah, good. Who wearing shorts right now? No,
- 55:42Speaker 1: I got jeans on, but yeah, if I wore shorts. Yeah,
- 55:44Speaker 1: I'm glad you're actually wearing jeans today.
- 55:46Speaker 7: Wow.
- 55:47Speaker 4: Wow.
- 55:48Speaker 1: I don't mean that rude, but just sometimes you want
- 55:50Speaker 1: to talk about distracting legs.
- 55:51Speaker 4: Mine?
- 55:52Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 55:52Speaker 4: Why?
- 55:53Speaker 2: Why?
- 55:54Speaker 1: Because they're just, we just need to invest in some lotion. No!
- 55:59Speaker 7: Okay, I'll admit, sometimes I'll be in a hurry, but
- 56:02Speaker 7: I got an emergency lotion right there in the next studio,
- 56:05Speaker 7: so I'll lotion up.
- 56:07Speaker 1: You do have a good calves, though.
- 56:08Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 56:09Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 56:09Speaker 1: My calves are, yeah. They look like State Fair turkey legs.
- 56:12Speaker 3: Yes, they do.
- 56:13Speaker 1: That are a little burnt. But we love you anyway.
- 56:16Speaker 1: Are shorts appropriate? Hot take of the day. What do
- 56:19Speaker 1: you think? I'm going to be moving my hips a
- 56:21Speaker 1: little right there, Candace. Don't look over here. It's Mix 102.9,
- 56:24Speaker 1: Ability Kid, Candace Lopez. Producer Poo is here. Thank you
- 56:28Speaker 1: for having us on. What's up with you, Candace? You good?
- 56:30Speaker 3: Yeah, I just wanted to shout out the school we
- 56:32Speaker 3: went to yesterday. You know we've been doing pick my
- 56:34Speaker 3: pickup line. So people have been tagging us in their pictures,
- 56:36Speaker 3: waiting in the car line at their school, listening. Well,
- 56:39Speaker 3: Principal V and everyone we met yesterday at Shackleford Elementary
- 56:42Speaker 3: in Waxahachie. They were so nice. They loved having us there.
- 56:46Speaker 3: We thought we were just maybe going to get kicked out. But, no,
- 56:49Speaker 3: they were like, come on in.
- 56:50Speaker 1: No, good. Well, that's because you were there. Pooh and
- 56:52Speaker 1: I will get kicked out. I think we're going to
- 56:53Speaker 1: do one today. Yeah, we are. We'll probably get kicked
- 56:56Speaker 1: out today because it's different when Candace is walking up.
- 56:59Speaker 7: You look like you're, you know, on the PTA. She does,
- 57:02Speaker 7: like the president of the PTA. Everybody, as soon as
- 57:04Speaker 7: Candace walked up, they embraced her.
- 57:06Speaker 1: They were like, huh? I was just in the background like.
- 57:08Speaker 3: No, that's not true.
- 57:10Speaker 1: You see us, just Poo and I walking up, and
- 57:12Speaker 1: they're immediately getting the school resource officer. Yeah.
- 57:15Speaker 4: Right.
- 57:16Speaker 3: Yeah, he was very nice as well.
- 57:18Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, he was cool. Yeah, you guys were giving
- 57:19Speaker 1: away good prizes, too.
- 57:20Speaker 3: Yeah, we had Rangers tickets, Ed Sheeran tickets. We were
- 57:23Speaker 3: giving out free pints of Blue Bell ice cream. And
- 57:26Speaker 3: they're like a really special school. They're a leader in
- 57:28Speaker 3: me lighthouse school. So they really practice the seven habits
- 57:32Speaker 3: of leadership, leadership, Everything they did there was just like
- 57:35Speaker 3: super pro.
- 57:36Speaker 1: Wow, good for them. Well, I think we're going today.
- 57:38Speaker 1: And do we have some of the same prizes, Pooh,
- 57:40Speaker 1: or no? Yes, we do. And we also have Dave
- 57:43Speaker 1: and Buster's passes.
- 57:45Speaker 4: Oh, fun.
- 57:46Speaker 1: Okay. And I borrowed some cards from... Coco shrimp.
- 57:50Speaker 4: Oh!
- 57:50Speaker 1: Nice!
- 57:51Speaker 3: Okay, good.
- 57:52Speaker 1: I think we're going to Plano today, so make sure
- 57:54Speaker 1: you tag us at Mix1029FM. We might even be going to,
- 57:57Speaker 1: did we pick a school we're going to go to?
- 57:58Speaker 1: I think we might go to Skaggs. Skaggs Elementary or something.
- 58:02Speaker 1: Skaggs Elementary.
- 58:03Speaker 3: I know they've been tagging us.
- 58:04Speaker 1: Yeah, they've been tagging us. We might show up to
- 58:06Speaker 1: that car line and just hook up some people and leave,
- 58:09Speaker 1: and if we don't get kicked out, we'll see.
- 58:11Speaker 7: And from what I saw, CeCe's Pizza might be hooking
- 58:14Speaker 7: us up with some pizzas to drop off to.
- 58:17Speaker 4: Ooh!
- 58:17Speaker 3: Oh, after school pizza?
- 58:19Speaker 1: Love CC's.
- 58:19Speaker 4: Car line snacks?
- 58:20Speaker 1: Yeah, hit different. Car line snacks?
- 58:22Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure.
- 58:23Speaker 1: Some tickets?
- 58:24Speaker 3: I like it.
- 58:25Speaker 1: If we make it there without half the pizza being gone, Poo. Oh, yeah, no.
- 58:29Speaker 1: I got to stop eating bad because I got scolded
- 58:31Speaker 1: the other day.
- 58:32Speaker 4: Oh.
- 58:33Speaker 1: I was trying to hide it from y'all, but I'll
- 58:35Speaker 1: tell y'all.
- 58:36Speaker 4: Okay.
- 58:37Speaker 7: Carla and Chad, they told me, they said, Poo, you're
- 58:41Speaker 7: supposed to be working out with Billy. Why are you
- 58:44Speaker 7: eating those chicken sandwiches? And I was like, I had
- 58:47Speaker 7: to indulge.
- 58:48Speaker 1: I just wanted to, you know. Okay, this is funny, too,
- 58:50Speaker 1: because I got yelled at because I said something. See,
- 58:54Speaker 1: I get yelled at all the time at stuff that
- 58:56Speaker 1: I say to Pooh, even though Pooh off the air
- 58:59Speaker 1: is like, man, don't let me eat like crap. For sure.
- 59:02Speaker 3: Well, he asked how many calories were in his bar
- 59:04Speaker 3: or if he should check.
- 59:05Speaker 1: Yeah, I almost ate this candy bar Oh, I'm done.
- 59:08Speaker 1: You know what? Eat whatever you want. Because I got
- 59:10Speaker 1: yelled at because he ate a Chick-fil-A waffle chicken sandwich.
- 59:14Speaker 1: It was so good, though. That they just came out
- 59:16Speaker 1: with at 9 o'clock at night. He had two dinners.
- 59:19Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 59:19Speaker 1: Two dinners. In my defense, my first dinner was at
- 59:22Speaker 1: four something in the afternoon. My first dinner. Yeah. If
- 59:25Speaker 1: you've got to say my first dinner. Right.
- 59:27Speaker 3: Yeah, I was hungry.
- 59:28Speaker 1: So on the air, I was like, hey, Pooh, what
- 59:30Speaker 1: are you doing? Yeah. Come on, we're supposed to hold
- 59:32Speaker 1: each other responsible. Yeah. Then Melissa hit me up. You
- 59:35Speaker 1: leave Pooh alone and let him eat what he wants.
- 59:38Speaker 3: He was having bed dinner.
- 59:39Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 59:39Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 59:43Speaker 3: It's happening to be Chick-fil-A.
- 59:44Speaker 1: Is that what it was?
- 59:45Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 59:46Speaker 1: Yeah. So how many dinners do you have planned today? No,
- 59:49Speaker 1: just one. Just one. I'm sticking to one. I'm telling you.
- 59:51Speaker 1: And then it was Carla and Chase.
- 59:54Speaker 7: And Casey was like, hey, dude, you'll never lose weight
- 59:58Speaker 7: eating them Chick-fil-A sandwiches.
- 1:00:00Speaker 4: Aw.
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: I'm not going to shame somebody, but if you tell me, hey, Billy—
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: Hold me responsible. And I'm like, okay. So then when
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: I see you eat something, I say something. Yeah. See something,
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: say something. Mine, see something, eat something. Yeah. Then I
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: get yelled at. Right. You're too hard on Pooh for
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: what he eats.
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: Well, everybody just be responsible for themselves.
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: Yeah. No, I'm not saying anything now. Eat five of them.
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: Have 20 dinners tonight. It was pretty good, but I'm
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: not going to do it no more. Okay. You know what?
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: If you do, you do. I mean, it was a
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: cheat day.
- 1:00:36Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: You've had a cheat year. No, I haven't really been
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: eating bad. Are you serious right now?
- 1:00:42Speaker 4: I mean.
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: Oh, no. You know what? I'm not getting into it.
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: I haven't really. You're right.
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: Let him live.
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: You're right. Other than the Chick-fil-A. You're right. Hey, at
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: least be proud of me. No Sour Patch Kids have
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: been in this body. Dude, I mean, you're not eight.
- 1:00:52Speaker 4: Good.
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: Of course. You're a grown man. Why am I? Should
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: I give you credit not for eating 14 packs of
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: Sour Patch Kids a day? Because you know that's my vice.
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: I got to have that. Is that where we're at
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: in life? Yeah. You know, give me props. Okay. Well, congratulations. Congratulations.
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: He scaled it back to only four packs.
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: Kid in the morning.
- 1:01:16Speaker 4: Only on the new Mix 102.9. Candace Lopez, what's up?
- 1:01:20Speaker 3: Well, Six Flags Entertainment Corporation is relocating their corporate headquarters
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: from Charlotte, North Carolina to Arlington. Choctaw Stadium has served
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: as the corporate office for the company since 2020, but
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: these new headquarters will serve as their primary hub for
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: corporate leadership and other business functions. That relocation is expected
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: to be done by March of next year, and this
- 1:01:40Speaker 3: makes perfect sense. You know, bring it all here. We
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: have so many parks, Six Flags over Texas. Y'all have
- 1:01:45Speaker 3: a great view.
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't even know they had offices at Choctaw.
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, for about six years. Yeah, so it makes
- 1:01:52Speaker 3: sense they're going to bring everybody over here. Yeah, exciting
- 1:01:55Speaker 3: news from Six Flags. And Uber just made an announcement.
- 1:01:58Speaker 3: They are launching live video streaming for their teen accounts.
- 1:02:02Speaker 3: So this feature will roll out across the country in
- 1:02:05Speaker 3: the coming weeks. I guess it's already in nine markets already.
- 1:02:08Speaker 3: So here's how this will work. It'll basically use the
- 1:02:11Speaker 3: driver's selfie camera for the video feed. And then once
- 1:02:14Speaker 3: the ride starts, parents will get a notification if the
- 1:02:17Speaker 3: video stream is available. If they choose to watch it,
- 1:02:20Speaker 3: then both the driver and their teen will both be notified.
- 1:02:23Speaker 3: And I think this would definitely make me feel more
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: safe if I put my teen in a car with someone.
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: Yeah, it's great. I think it's a great idea for anyone.
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: Forget just teens. If you want to share your ride,
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: I know you could share your ride with somebody right now.
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: But if you want to share the stream... Why not?
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: And plus, let's not forget, like I love our Uber drivers. Yeah,
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: it keeps them safe, too.
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: Yeah, that's for sure. They're saying that only parent or
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: guardian accounts linked to the teen account can watch this.
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: And then once the ride ends, no one has access
- 1:02:51Speaker 3: to the encrypted video. So hopefully they're keeping that safe. Uh, guys,
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: another shoe brand has debuted what they're calling barefoot heels.
- 1:03:00Speaker 3: So this is similar to what Chanel dropped earlier this year.
- 1:03:04Speaker 3: There's costs around $ 2, 000. It's basically just a heel. There's
- 1:03:09Speaker 3: no like part for your toes or the rest of
- 1:03:11Speaker 3: your foot. Um, yeah, I can't imagine your heel in
- 1:03:14Speaker 3: a shoe and the rest of your foot just on
- 1:03:16Speaker 3: the ground.
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: So it's just strapped around your ankle. That's pretty much
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: a stilt.
- 1:03:20Speaker 3: Yeah, kind of, without the height.
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: So how tall is it?
- 1:03:25Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know exactly how tall it is. Jeffrey
- 1:03:28Speaker 3: Campbell has a pair now at a fraction of the cost,
- 1:03:30Speaker 3: and that's why this is going viral again. But people
- 1:03:33Speaker 3: are really roasting these shoes online. Someone was calling them
- 1:03:36Speaker 3: the Tetanus 2000s. Which is hilarious. Which is funny.
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: You can't call them shoes. You're just going to walk
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: around barefoot.
- 1:03:43Speaker 3: Half your foot's picking up all the gunk.
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: Which I've actually enjoyed doing that lately. Have you? Yeah.
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: I don't know why. I just, because I had, you know,
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: my hands messed up, so I can't really put on socks,
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: even though I put on socks today.
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: But I like just walking around the neighborhood barefoot.
- 1:03:58Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: And I'm just, I'm grounding.
- 1:04:00Speaker 3: Yeah, that's good. Get in the grass.
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: Connecting with the earth. Yeah. You know, sometimes I'll just
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: go through Walmart barefoot. No, I'm just kidding.
- 1:04:07Speaker 3: No, you don't do that. Real quick, guys, you know,
- 1:04:10Speaker 3: we were looking back at the life of Dolly Parton earlier.
- 1:04:12Speaker 3: She passed away yesterday at the age of 80. CBS,
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: by the way, is airing an hour-long special tonight paying
- 1:04:18Speaker 3: tribute to her. It's called Dolly Parton, an American icon...
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: I know ABC had a special edition of 2020 last night.
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: That's on Disney Plus and Hulu today. Yeah, so just,
- 1:04:30Speaker 3: you know, thinking of everyone mourning her life. I love
- 1:04:33Speaker 3: how they turned downtown pink last night. The Reunion Tower,
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: the ball was pink in honor of her. The Empire
- 1:04:39Speaker 3: State Building was pink.
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: And you're well-deserved.
- 1:04:42Speaker 3: Yeah, well-deserved. I'm Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas Top Stories.
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: Okay, you got a secret. It's time to confess. It's
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: Bailey the Kid, Candace Lopez, producer Pooh. Just do it.
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: Just tell us what's going on. It could be a
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: big secret, a little secret, whatever is happening in your life.
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: Or maybe it happened five years ago.
- 1:05:00Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: Or ten years ago. It doesn't have to be recent.
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: Just confess, and you got one. What's up?
- 1:05:05Speaker 6: Yeah, so, okay, I'm hiding something from my boyfriend, and
- 1:05:08Speaker 6: this is actually the second year in a row that
- 1:05:11Speaker 6: I've done it.
- 1:05:12Speaker 5: Every year I.
- 1:05:13Speaker 6: Tell them I'm going on my annual girls.
- 1:05:16Speaker 5: Trip, except there's no girls trip.
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: Oh, really?
- 1:05:20Speaker 3: What?
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: You tell them you're going on a girls trip. There's
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: no girls trip. Where are you going?
- 1:05:27Speaker 6: I go back to my hometown for a few days
- 1:05:30Speaker 6: completely by myself.
- 1:05:32Speaker 3: Oh, wow.
- 1:05:33Speaker 5: I love my boyfriend very, very much.
- 1:05:35Speaker 6: We've been together almost three years. I've never cheated on him,
- 1:05:38Speaker 6: and I never would. I just desperately need a break.
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: Well, and I think that's reasonable, but why not just
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: be honest about it? Yeah, tell him.
- 1:05:48Speaker 6: Well, my boyfriend is extremely clingy. He wants to do
- 1:05:51Speaker 6: everything together. If I'm watching TV, he wants to watch
- 1:05:54Speaker 6: with me. If I'm running errands, he wants to come.
- 1:05:57Speaker 6: If I have plans, yeah, he wants to know what
- 1:05:59Speaker 6: I'm doing, what.
- 1:05:59Speaker 5: We're doing afterward.
- 1:06:00Speaker 6: It's actually gotten worse the longer we've been together.
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: Wow.
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: He's codependent.
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: Yeah, he's codependent. But I mean, like maybe if anything
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: in relationships, I've had a problem in the past because
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: I'm too independent.
- 1:06:12Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: And I like, I like my time. So I get this,
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: but it just looks shady.
- 1:06:18Speaker 6: I need alone time to function, you know, like I
- 1:06:21Speaker 6: just can't deal with someone by my side all the time.
- 1:06:25Speaker 6: So once a year I tell him I'm meeting up
- 1:06:27Speaker 6: with girls and that I went to college with pack
- 1:06:29Speaker 6: my bags and I disappear for a few days.
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: And he's just like, cool, have a good time. And
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: you're just doing your own thing. You're just, I mean,
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: are you doing things there that he wouldn't want to
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: know about? And I know you're said no cheating, but
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: is it, Anything that might be weird or bizarre?
- 1:06:44Speaker 6: Well, you know, I don't lie about where I'm going.
- 1:06:46Speaker 6: I really do go back home. I might see one
- 1:06:49Speaker 6: or two friends while I'm there, but that's mostly about it. Like,
- 1:06:53Speaker 6: I sleep in, I get coffee by myself, go shopping,
- 1:06:56Speaker 6: I eat wherever I want, and I watch terrible TV
- 1:07:00Speaker 6: in my hotel room. I don't answer to anybody.
- 1:07:03Speaker 8: Okay.
- 1:07:04Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:07:04Speaker 3: I'm not mad at that.
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: You refresh. You just kind of like a little reset
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: and you need that. No, I do get that.
- 1:07:10Speaker 3: I think everyone needs a reset. It doesn't have to
- 1:07:12Speaker 3: be from your boyfriend or your partner, but from your work.
- 1:07:15Speaker 3: I mean, just from the change of pace, you know,
- 1:07:18Speaker 3: you need a change of scenery.
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: Yeah. But I don't like the fact that you say
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: he's clingy. That, to me, is a little red flag,
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: but whatever.
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: It is. It is for me, too.
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: Why are you in a relationship with him if he's
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: that clingy? Well, you can love someone and they're not perfect.
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: It's just, you know, I've dealt with that before.
- 1:07:34Speaker 3: Yeah, but if it's getting worse over time, you would
- 1:07:36Speaker 3: think it would be less clingy over time.
- 1:07:39Speaker 6: But now there is, like, one other detail that's probably
- 1:07:42Speaker 6: going to make this sound approximately 500 times shadier. Okay.
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: Why?
- 1:07:46Speaker 8: Why?
- 1:07:48Speaker 6: Well, when I'm back home I usually have lunch with
- 1:07:53Speaker 6: my ex.
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: There we go.
- 1:07:55Speaker 7: There it is.
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: Come on, girl. I was on your side. There it is. Oh, man.
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: There it is right there. Wait. Wait. Wait. Wait, what?
- 1:08:03Speaker 3: 500 times shadier.
- 1:08:06Speaker 6: Listen, he came out of the closet years ago. He
- 1:08:09Speaker 6: doesn't even date women anymore.
- 1:08:11Speaker 8: What?
- 1:08:12Speaker 6: Oh.
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:08:14Speaker 6: We dated forever ago and stayed friends.
- 1:08:16Speaker 5: And once a year, we.
- 1:08:17Speaker 6: Grab lunch and catch up. There's absolutely nothing romantic happening.
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: So he doesn't. OK, so now he's he doesn't even
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: like women.
- 1:08:28Speaker 3: OK, does your boyfriend know, like even this generic situation
- 1:08:32Speaker 3: that this is his, you.
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: Know, that really happens where you date someone all of
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: a sudden. It's like they come out of the closet
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: and then sorry. Yeah, I was never that that would
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: mess with my head.
- 1:08:41Speaker 3: Yeah, it does mess with people.
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: It would happen to me. I dated a girl named Tori. Wait,
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: you did?
- 1:08:49Speaker 7: Yeah, I dated a girl. You remember Tori from from Denton? Yeah,
- 1:08:52Speaker 7: she has a she has a wife now.
- 1:08:54Speaker 5: Really?
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: Yeah after poo she was like forget this all right
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: yeah so you don't want to tell your boyfriend that.
- 1:09:03Speaker 6: Though yeah my boyfriend is absolutely not no because this
- 1:09:07Speaker 6: man would spontaneously combust like he's already insecure even if.
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: He knows that you're the guy's not even into women
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: anymore or he would probably think you're just saying that
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: maybe to make him feel better yeah that's Yeah.
- 1:09:20Speaker 6: It doesn't matter.
- 1:09:21Speaker 5: He's already insecure.
- 1:09:22Speaker 6: So if I told him I went on vacation alone,
- 1:09:25Speaker 6: he'd already asked 5 billion questions like, where are you going?
- 1:09:29Speaker 6: Who are you seeing? Why don't you want me there?
- 1:09:31Speaker 6: Why can't I come? And then if I throw in, oh,
- 1:09:34Speaker 6: and I'm having lunch with my ex, I might as
- 1:09:36Speaker 6: well just light my whole relationship on fire.
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: Yeah, I see that. If he's already kind of like that.
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: But in his defense, though, I swear I've been in
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: relationships where every They have a bunch of guy friends,
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: and according to them, they're all gay. Yeah, that's true. Oh, no,
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: he's gay. And then I meet him, I'm like, this
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: dude's not gay. Really? Ain't no way.
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: No.
- 1:09:59Speaker 3: Wow.
- 1:10:00Speaker 6: Well, yeah, like, he's definitely gay, but I... I am
- 1:10:04Speaker 6: definitely lying, and I know that's probably not healthy, but
- 1:10:07Speaker 6: I'm not cheating.
- 1:10:08Speaker 5: I'm not partying with random guys.
- 1:10:11Speaker 6: I'm literally just hiding from the world, ordering takeout, and
- 1:10:14Speaker 6: enjoying the fact that nobody needs anything from me.
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: There's nothing wrong with that. So if he finds out,
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: just be prepared for the wrath of it being shady,
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: because then no matter what you say, he's going to
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: be like, you are a liar.
- 1:10:25Speaker 3: If he's already clingy and insecure, that's a recipe for disaster.
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: You might have to get back with your ex.
- 1:10:31Speaker 3: No.
- 1:10:32Speaker 7: No.
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: If he'll have you. Oh, no. Yeah, you never know.
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: They never say never. People go back and forth sometimes.
- 1:10:38Speaker 3: That's true.
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: I know people who do that.
- 1:10:40Speaker 3: I do, too.
- 1:10:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:10:42Speaker 3: If they just find happiness, that's all I care about.
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: Yeah, whatever makes you happy. I'm not judging. If one
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: week you like guys, next week you like girls, listen, Pooh,
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: we're going to embrace you. Oh, no, you didn't.
- 1:10:52Speaker 3: Love is love.
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: Thank you so much. And let us know what happens, okay?
- 1:10:56Speaker 6: Yeah, for sure, guys.
- 1:10:57Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: I totally forgot you dated that girl, to be honest. Yeah. Totally.
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: I don't remember her. You don't remember her? No. We
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: should rank our ex-girlfriends one day. Oh, Lord. Or at
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: least poos. Okay. You know? Sounds fun. Just rank them
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: from five to one. Who is the best? You know
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: I love a good list.
- 1:11:14Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: I can line them up for you. Mine or yours?
- 1:11:17Speaker 4: Mine.
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: So could we.
- 1:11:19Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: So good. We're about to get out of here. It's
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: Mix 102.9. Ability Kid, Candice Lopez, Producer Pooh, thank you
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: so much for having us on, for listening. Thank you
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: for tagging us in all these school pickup lines, drop-off lines. Today,
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: Pooh and I. We're hitting up a school in Plano. Yes,
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: we are. We're probably going to get kicked out, but
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: I think we're going to Skaggs Elementary.
- 1:11:39Speaker 4: Awesome.
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: That's going to be our first stop. We might hit
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: up more, but that's going to be our first stop.
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: And we got tickets. We got CeCe's Pizza.
- 1:11:46Speaker 7: What else we got, Pooh? Clausania passes. We got Dave
- 1:11:49Speaker 7: and Buster's passes.
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: Okay. Cocoa shrimp.
- 1:11:52Speaker 3: Cocoa shrimp.
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: Gift cards. I just borrowed a whole bunch of stuff
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: from the closet. Yeah.
- 1:11:57Speaker 3: That's perfect.
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: I don't know if it's called borrowing if we're never
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: giving it back. But it is what it is.
- 1:12:02Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: Listen, these moms who wait, and dads in the pickup lines.
- 1:12:06Speaker 3: Plenty of dads yesterday in Waxahachie.
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, there was. Yeah, there was a lot. I mean,
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: you deserve it. You deserve to get hooked up. Yeah.
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: It's 101, and you're sitting there sweating.
- 1:12:14Speaker 4: Yep.
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: You're falling asleep in the car. At least I have before. Same.
- 1:12:17Speaker 3: That's why we put Enzo on the bus.
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: You ever.
- 1:12:20Speaker 3: Because I fall asleep.
- 1:12:22Speaker 4: It's true.
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: Forget this. You fell asleep?
- 1:12:25Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: How long were you sleeping, you think?
- 1:12:26Speaker 3: Not long, but people were honking at me.
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: Oh, man.
- 1:12:29Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:12:30Speaker 3: There was no car line in front of me when
- 1:12:31Speaker 3: I woke up, so yeah.
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: Oh, and it's just you?
- 1:12:34Speaker 4: Yep.
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: Snoozing?
- 1:12:35Speaker 3: That was the last day I was in the car line.
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: Yeah. I think that's a good call.
- 1:12:39Speaker 2: Yeah, for sure.
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: Right there. Angel's like, where's mommy? Oh, sleeping.
- 1:12:43Speaker 4: I'm here.
- 1:12:44Speaker 3: I'm just asleep.
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: With her special juice.
- 1:12:47Speaker 3: No.
- 1:12:47Speaker 7: All right.
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: We'll see you tomorrow. Have a great day.
- 1:12:50Speaker 7: Bye.
