- Dr. Michaela: Good morning, Ken. Welcome to the Sky Talk Doc podcast. We had a doozy of a morning to try to talk about free radicals, so I know you have some incredible things to tell the world. This always happens when there's important messages that need to get out. Can you share with the listeners a little bit about antioxidants and all the things that we're gonna talk about today? Ken: Yes, well my little thing is I was working as a fusion reactor scientist and I was using this stuff, carbon sixty as a radiation protectant, and it basically got it it it cured my macular degeneration. And the Dr. Michaela: Yeah. Ken: thing is Q C sixty is an incredibly powerful antioxidant. And for those listeners out there, you know, antioxidants are basic oxidative radicals are basically your body rusting. And so what are they gonna do? They're gonna cross link proteins. So your proteins don't link. They punch holes in your cell membrane. They damage your DNA. And that and it just and and you see it like you get brain fog. you have that sense of tiredness. Mm-hmm. your ability to exercise or keep going goes way down. So that's really and of course all the other there's lots of other inflammation's a key thing with with oxidative radicals. So Really one of the things in our lives is to get those oxidative radical levels down and so that our body can function the way it is. And and usually as when we're young, we we're pretty good with the oxidative radic did for o for antioxidants to take care of them. But as we get older, you know, things don't work as well and of course other things have come up and that's when problems start to happen. Dr. Michaela: Well, I've read some pretty incredible books on this topic. Actually, I've been re deep diving. So I I did a deep dive on free radicals about like five or six years ago. oxidative stress and antioxidants, and I've been re-diving into it and really learning that it is the source of all premature aging. It's the source of well, we could call it inflammation in the body, right? Which at the most basic molecular level is lack of water, right, in the cells. So how does, and maybe I'm misunderstanding this, but how does the carbon 60 interact with the molecular structure to remove or rehydrate the cellular functioning? Help me understand that piece. And maybe I'm speaking way wrong here. So you you correct me if I am. Ken: Well, C60 is a very specific antioxidant. It only interacts with two oxidative radical species. And that's a superoxide. That's an oxygen with an extra electron. And that is, if you're going to rust your body, that's the number one thing that can do it. And also the hydroxyl radical. And the hydroxyl radical is just an a water molecule that's missing its proton. So it's got that free electron there. And that's the only thing that C60 really interacts with. Now there's a lot of different oxidative radicals in your body, but C sixty is very specific. And and really it it's part of what what people call the Krebs cycle. That's the that's the mitochondria cycle that you know gives you your energy, your ATP. And there's really key four antioxidants in that cycle. And one is CoQ10. And you you can supplement for co q10. Yeah. That's pretty good. And then another one is glutathione. Uh-huh. Now they have like transdermal, liposomal, which you can get glutathione, but there was nothing for superoxide at Well, basically for the superoxygen which is damaging, there's a thing called superoxide dismutase and then catalase, which take care of that oxidative radical, the most damaging oxidative radical, and the one that mitochondria make a lot of. And there was no way to supplement for it, because even though SOD is made in your cells, your cells excrete it into the environment around them, there's really no uptake mechanism except by exomes, and that's really expensive and difficult to get. And so until C60 came along, there wasn't a there wasn't like a something to do that. So a lot of people have mitochondria problems. And and if it's due to SOD or catalase problems, then which C60 kind of covers, there was a well, you couldn't really do anything. And now that with C60, it kind of covers that gap. And that's what a lot of practitioners would use our product. They get, you know, if you can do it for yourself, or as you know, as a as a practitioner, you know, you get your get yourself on CoQ10, glutathione. And then you take C sixty and it covers those four key antioxidants in your cells. And as we get older, you know, when you're young, we don't have too many problems. But as we get older, those antioxidant levels, which are made inside your cell, tend to drop. And so we start to need to supplement for for them. And and that's kind of where C sixty comes in. Dr. Michaela: What are the things in nature that affect the degradation of it? Like or or what are the things in our environment, I should say? And are you seeing more of this post COVID? And I guess where I'm going with that is the cytokine storm kind of stuff and things like that. What what's that how does that piece all play together? Ken: Well, I mean, if you look at the environment, I mean dirty air. If you're living in the city, I mean I lived in LA for a while and and and back in the day and it was like smoking a pack in half a day, right? Just the nastiness. You got stuff in the water. I mean, there's all kinds of toxins now in the water. And of course in our food. I mean, if you eat the processed food, I mean you go read the label, right? If you probably can't pronounce it, you shouldn't be eating it. And so all of these these chemicals that are in our environment, our food. Everything they kind of get in our body and they as they break down they produce these oxidative radicals which then go on to cause damage to our cells. And and of course, you know, there's you you have to really work at it hard these days. And also the electromagnetism, all the like the cell phones and all the radiation and stuff that we never had before in our history of humans, these all contribute to that oxidative burden. Dr. Michaela: And now you're saying by taking this supplement you were able to reverse something in your own body. Tell me about that. And did it have to do with the nerve endings? Ken: Yes, it did. It was actually macular degeneration. That's the retina of your eye. And it's actually part of your brain if you it and and basically as I you know, macular degeneration, supposedly an incurable progressive disease. And I had had it and I'd had it for years and it was slowly progressing. And my I my you know, I was taking the xanthins and the lutins, which are supposed to be good for that. But it but you know it never it helped a little bit, but it's slow it was still going. And then I started taking C sixty. Seven months after taking C sixty I went to see my optometrist and my Druze or dry macular degeneration had disappeared and he'd never seen that before. Dr. Michaela: Wow. And so it goes straight to and latches onto the free radical or the oxidant that is running around rampant in the in the body and it draws it out. Ken: Well, it's probably a mitochondria problem. So it passes the gut barrier, passes the blood-brain barrier, goes into your cells, then into the mitochondria, where it did its magic. So my my problem isn't really probably wasn't really a macular degeneration, it was a mitochondria problem. And those mitochondria are the energy powerhouse of the cell. And if they don't if they don't have like their own if they don't have enough SOD and catalase, they have to actually turn themselves down to prevent themselves damaging. And now your cells just don't have enough energy to repair themselves. And so when you take C sixty, if if it's that problem, right? So that was my problem. And so the C sixty went in there and replaced the missing SOD and catalase, my mitochondria could turn themselves back on, and then the cell could repair itself. Dr. Michaela: So it's like the the oxidative stress in the body flips off the light switch that is the mitochondria that are able to repair. And then by getting rid of them the light switch is able to essentially flip back on. Ken: Yeah, it's exactly. And now that's yeah, 'cause monoc in the mitochondria, the SOD might be thought of like the radiator fluid. If you have a car, it's the radiator fluid. Now you still need NAC, you n you need a lot of like the the you know, the gasoline, the oil, everything else to run the car, but th the the the C sixty of the antioxidants kinda like the radiator fluid. And it's just as as we get older, the these antiox certain antioxidant levels drop. And in my case it was just because my SOD was getting lower. And so C sixty replaced that missing thing. And but C sixty is an addition to something. It's not a magic pill. I mean, you still have to eat well. probably take multi you know, multivitamin, multi minerals. I mean, I would recommend the CoQ ten. by the way, I'm not a medical doctor, I'm a research scientist, so I you know, I can't do that. But but that but that's kind of it it just fills a slot, but it's a really important slot and a lot of people have benefited from C sixty, especially if you've got brain fog and that it's just As we get older, it just drops. And so C sixty kind of replaces that missing SOD and catalase and so everything just kinda works a little better. Dr. Michaela: You know, one of the things that I've been researching with AI, which is kind of ironic, is how AI and the systems that are in place are both benefiting and detrimenting the human biology, right? Like there's this whole neural network component of things, the EMFs, the 5G, all the different things. And it repeatedly says we've gotten so far away from the source creation for humans. That now we essentially have to supplement because so many things have been introduced that literally work against our biological basis. where before we used to drink water from natural spring sources, which naturally went through all of these volcanic ash and minerals and ground, you know, resources to replenish our bodies, but now we basically put our water that comes from that source into a tank and then we add chlorine, which strips it of everything. And then we drink it, which does a double whammy. It doesn't give us the original minerals and then it poisons us with the chlorine. So it's like, you know, this chicken egg situation that we're kind of in. What is the best way that you find that people can kind of tackle this component of the environment that we're creating for ourselves. Like it what what are you finding that works? Ken: Well, I mean there's some basics, like a good water filter that can take out like the fluorine and a lot of the chlorine. And that's that's a really key one. especially because there's a lot of also if you're drinking from a city water, there's a lot of hor you know, medicines and other things that have gotten in there that the filtered system doesn't take off. So you really need to filter your water. Another's the food. A lot of the food grown now is kind of lost as nutrients. I mean it's actually been bred to taste grow really fast and taste good, but it doesn't really have the nutrients that, you know, our grandparents had in the food that they eat. So getting like organic food, especially the pesticides, herbicides, that's on top of it. So I mean there's some basic stuff and also electromagnetic radiations. I mean, a lot of people are living in places where they're just huge amounts of you know, Wi Fi and everything and it's just cooking you up. And so there's various paints. Dr. Michaela: Say we're like a little piece of broccoli that got put in the microwave for too long. I mean, that's like really what our bodies are doing. They're being microwaved, so to speak. And I guess my question would be the C ten, where is it naturally occurring? Like where does it come from? Ken: C C C sixty doesn't Dr. Michaela: I'm sorry, C sixty, yes. Where does the C sixty come from? Ken: Well, C sixty existed in the early Earth and it was actually the probably the original antioxidant of life. It's a little bit in nature. You'll find it like lightning strikes and and on a tree you'll get a little bit and like the burnt wick of a candle have like zero point two five percent, but it's not really prevalent anymore, but it was likely the original antioxidant of life because if it fits exact in a really cold environment it would fit exactly into the groove of the RNA molecule. And the side groove of the DNA molecule. And they think it was the original scaffolding for RNA and DNA chemistry to come into existence because it was made by meteorites and it used to, it's hydrophobic, so it floats, but it's lipophilic, so amino acids, so it's kind of like the construction of life. But as it went away in the environment, life developed SOD and catalyse, because C60 does a job of SOD and catalase in one step. And they've also tested C60 for toxicity, and they've taken it up to 10,000 times. The health beneficial dose. And in even at that level, there was no toxicity. If you did that with vitamin D or vitamin E or any of those others, it would probably kill the organism. But C sixty had no toxicity at all. And that's why they think it's sort of like the original antioxidant of life. And of course, now we have to make it in a lab and and but it but it just goes right into the cells, works exactly the way it's supposed to. And I mean, well, it has has amazing things like our my CEO, Jess, he's She just had her first baby at forty nine. Dr. Michaela: And you're calling it the Holy Grail. Ken: Well, it it is. It's it's it's a very it's very specific, but it fills a a really necessary gap. And but you still gotta get your coq ten, you still got your glutathione, you know, the the red, you know, get your colorful vegetables. It doesn't replace anything that you're doing now. It's just an addition that wasn't available until recently to kind of fill that gap which we kind of which kind of grows as we get older. Dr. Michaela: So you developed it in a lab. You were one of the scientists that developed it in a lab. Ken: Not C sixty, no, I wasn't one of them. But though the the people that actually the actually Nobel it was discovered in nineteen eighty Prive got a Nobel Prize in chemistry in in nineteen ninety six. And the people that actually produce our C sixty are worked with the Nobel Prize winners on on figuring out till to how to make it in enough to be to do it. And like some of the very first tests they did, they gave it they did for toxicity test, because here's a weird molecule discovered in outer space. It's part of a Mystery of an outer space, but is it toxic? So they gave it to test animals, whistler rats, and it increased their lifespan by 90%. No, those were wimpy rats, because whister rats are kind of wimpy rats, that's what you want to test stuff. But then later they did testing with like wild type mice, which is like us. Com they extended lifespan of wild type mice by 11% and completely prevented cognitive decline during aging. Dr. Michaela: No kidding. Ken: And 'cause that's what we want. I mean, what's good is getting old if you're just drooling in a wheelchair? You want to be you want that health span when you're active and alive and can like live life to the full Dr. Michaela: They find this miracle molecule and it doesn't exist naturally anymore, th or if it does, we have a hard time finding it. Ken: Yes, it's very low concentrations. Dr. Michaela: So but they have it in low concentration so they were able to recreate it essentially. Ken: Yes, and and we're not the first one so it's a but they think that C sixty, 'cause it's kind of a black, they think it also might be the philosopher's stone. Cause it's created in carp you know, Bertwicks of candles, and so they think maybe the alchemists were extracting it back in the day. Of course now we can do it with accuracy and purity, but but that's kind of one of the the things they think what it was. Dr. Michaela: So they were burning their rituals with the burnings and things like that. They were actually harvesting the C C sixty. Ken: Yes, and they were doing a a simple a primitive way of of harvesting it and using it for for Dr. Michaela: Making a tea or something like that. Ken: But they didn't know what they were doing 'cause basically it's it's a c it's found in the in you know, like Bertwick of candles and a few other things, like and so they basically were grinding it up and it floats, so they were probably s taking off what it floated and then eating it and so it was one of those things that the alchemists used to do back in the day. And of course now we know what it is, but how they figured it out back then I'm not sure. Dr. Michaela: is a fascinating story. And so wow. And so what have you seen in terms of human success stories or human, you know, excitement about this? Like what are you actually seeing in practice? Ken: Okay, well, the very first test study for humans, because there's a lot of studies you can't do with human beings, obviously. they put it in a cream for Japanese women, and after six months use, reduce lines and wrinkles in Japanese women. And there's other things that they've discovered over time, I could go into the whole thing, but it basically it causes apoptosis of senescent cells. Those are the zombie cells in your body, and then they're replaced by stem cells, and that's of course why the the it it does a lot of things. So Kind of part of what my retina was, it like regrows cartilage in people that are damaged, increases the level of stem cells. And but there is a few things, because it'll also restart your endocrine system, because the cells of the endocrine system have a lot of mitochondria, even more than your cells. So when you take C60, it'll restart it. So if you're on a blood thinner, you probably need to talk to your doctor. And also it it could cause unexpected pregnancies for women in their late 30s and forties. And so you better be aware of that. We have like dozens and dozens of C sixty babies and that's as I mentioned, my CEO just had her first baby at forty nine. Of course Dr. Michaela: Because it wakes up like the para menopause or the menopausal, like it shuts that system off and Ken: It it restarts your adrenal glands. It restarts, you know, the hormone function in your body because a lot of those have gone down because you're not getting enough SOD. So when you take and and the endocrine cells, the mitochondria make the mitochondria are kind of like the key for the powerhouse and for your cells. And so when they restart in in your cells, they make pregnitolone. Pregnenolone is made by the mitochondria, in especially in the and the cells in the endocrine system. So when you s when the mitochondria restart in your endocrine system, They're making pre preg pregn pregnome, which is the precursor for all the the molec for all the hormones. Dr. Michaela: Wow, that's unbelievable. Ken: And then and then it goes out, whether it's androgens or and and that's why mineralcorticoids, it'll restart your adrenal glands. And and so if you're it makes and your adrenal glands make mineral corticoids. So if you're in a blood thinner you need to like talk to your doctor, just to be aware of that. Dr. Michaela: Wow, that that's fascinating. So I imagine it's doing a tremendous thing for Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, things like that. Ken: Yes. Dr. Michaela: Wow. Unbelievable. So Ken, where can people learn about C sixty? Where is the best way for them to go learn about this? Ken: Well, there's a website called what is c60.org, and that's a 501c3. Now our website is shopc60.com, and you can go there and we have studies that are like human studies, and there's a lot of studies of human cells and test tubes, like because that's a lot of things you can do. But we c that's all we could ever publish on shopc60.com. But if you go to what is c60.org, and that's a five one c three that we and a couple other c sixty companies support. And so you can get you can get like you can get the animal studies, the human studies and and there's like a little synopsis and a link to the study itself so you can read it for yourself. Dr. Michaela: Wow. So if you wanna continue to read well until you're in your nineties, you need this product. If you wanna get pregnant at fifty, you need this product. Ken: I'm not gonna re as recommend that. Like for I'm I just turned sixty five and I don't need cheater, you know, the little cheater glasses. Well Dr. Michaela: Well, I have been talking a lot about like the optical stuff lately and how I'm finding myself r needing to reduce the strain with the cheaters 'cause I read incessantly all the time. And so I you you s you s definitely sparked my interest with that piece of things 'cause I can feel the optical strain and I swear it's from the microwaving. Ken: yeah, and everything else. It's just and as we get older, you know, 'cause I think the flexibility in your lenses goes down, but in the muscle thing. But I I still don't need cheaters at sixty five, so and I've been actually I'm probably one that's been using C sixty the longest on the planet. I've been at I think it's like man, it's almost seventeen years now. Dr. Michaela: Holy buckets. Ken: Yeah, so that's it's 'cause I started it when the the experimental stuff and then I kept using it and it wasn't until I mean maybe ten our company just turned ten years old yeah on the the end of the month on of September September twenty ninth. And then I didn't start the company 'til two thousand sixteen and I started using C sixteen probably two thousand ten when we were doing the research on metal oxygen fusion. And so it's but you know I just made it originally after it got rid of my immaculate degeneration. I put it in like MCT oil for my electrical engineer and he took it for fifteen months tablespoon a day and his severe wet macular degeneration went away and his type two diabetes went subclinical. But it does like all kinds of things. It's really just mitochondria health. As we get older, especially in some people, the SOD and catalyst will drop off faster than others. And so C60 goes in, replaces that, brings your mitochondria back up to function, and then your cells have the energy to heal themselves. Dr. Michaela: It's unbelievable, you know, and there is so much to these kind of missing pieces that we're just now starting to well, just now, it's been over a decade for you, but that we're starting to kind of put all together, even like the microbiome and the gut piece of things and and like you were talking about earlier, how it can create little holes in our system that leak out the good things, right, and all that. this is fascinating. Now, Ken, your team, I believe, has given us a link. So, listeners, if you are interested, you can check out how to learn more about the C60 in the show notes. I think there's even a special discount code for you today, shopC60.com. Obviously, I'm gonna go check out the holy grail because this is fascinating. But moreover, I'm just really curious about I I'm a firm believer that everything we need to sustain longevity of health is on the planet. And I'm fascinated by the fact that it's only in these little micro amounts and that we need to kind of create it in a lab. To me, I'm like, now I've got to go find the source, you know. That that to me is the really fascinating part about what we talked about today. Ken: yes. And I mean every year there's I mean like the the amazing things with peptides. Yeah that people are discovered. That's a whole nother thing. And of course the microbiome. We didn't even know about that. Having a healthy microbiome is key. Of course, and and it all goes back. I mean if as you get older, you gotta do a lot of work to keep health. I mean, you have the exercise, you have the clean water, you have to eat right, avoid, you know, bad substances, basically, you know, read those labels. If you can't pronounce it, don't take it. And they're just so many things, but And C sixty is just one tool in the toolkit for good health. It's an important one, but it doesn't re it's not a magic pill. You've got to do all of those other things if you're really Dr. Michaela: I drive an hour to get structured water to then put it in my hydrogen generator to drink my hydrogen water. Ken: I have an eco I have an eco hydrogen machine in my house to to put it in the water. Dr. Michaela: I do highly concentrated plant-based medicine in a wheatgrass grapefruit vitamin C shot every day. Like I gotta do the rain dance, the tap on the head, the spin backwards, like all the things. But this this is one that I can honestly say I had not heard about. When your team connected for the podcast, I was like, wait a minute, this is different. This is not the same stuff. So This is just really fascinating and I'm I you know, I wish I'd had more questions, but I think I just am so excited to hear about this unique, unique existence. I mean, it's just fascinating. Ken: Well I'm glad to to be on your show and to let you and your listeners know about it. Yeah. Dr. Michaela: Fantastic for sure. Well, Ken, thank you so much for coming on, listeners. As always, check out all the links in the show notes, shopc60.com. Ken, thank you so much for coming on.
