Speaker 1: What's up everyone and welcome to another episode of the
• 0:03
Speaker 1: Epstein Chronicles. We have to talk about one of the
• 0:09
Speaker 1: most insulting clown show chapters in the entire Prince Andrew disaster.
• 0:14
Speaker 1: The fact that Pizza Express seem more interested in checking
• 0:17
Speaker 1: Andrew's woking alibi than the people with badges, budgets, offices, authority,
• 0:23
Speaker 1: and a supposed mandate to investigate serious allegations connected to
• 0:27
Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein's trafficking operation. And that sentence alone should make
• 0:33
Speaker 1: your blood boil. Not because Pizza Express did anything wrong,
• 0:37
Speaker 1: quite the opposite. Because somehow, in this rancid little royal farce,
• 0:42
Speaker 1: a chain restaurant had more incentive to protect the integrity
• 0:45
Speaker 1: of its brand than Scotland Yard appeared to have in
• 0:48
Speaker 1: publicly dismantling the timeline of a prince accused of being
• 0:51
Speaker 1: tied to one of the most notorious predators on Earth.
• 0:55
Speaker 1: Now think about how demented that is. A woman says
• 0:58
Speaker 1: she was trafficked, a photograph exists, Jeffrey Epstein's dead, Ghislaine
• 1:03
Speaker 1: Maxwell's convicted, survivors have spent years screaming into the teeth
• 1:07
Speaker 1: of the machine. And bitch-ass Prince Andrew, Duke of Disaster,
• 1:12
Speaker 1: walks onto the BBC and serves the country a steaming
• 1:15
Speaker 1: plate of nonsense about taking his daughter to Pizza Express
• 1:19
Speaker 1: and Woking? As if the public was supposed to hear
• 1:22
Speaker 1: that and say, well, there it is then, case closed.
• 1:25
Speaker 1: The prince has invoked mozzarella. Justice has been served. No.
• 1:31
Speaker 1: Absolutely fucking not. That should have been the beginning of
• 1:34
Speaker 1: the interrogation, not the end of the conversation. The second
• 1:38
Speaker 1: Andrew said Pizza Express and Woking, every competent investigator in
• 1:42
Speaker 1: the country should have been crawling over that claim like
• 1:45
Speaker 1: ants on spilled sugar. Who's working that day? Who saw him?
• 1:49
Speaker 1: What time did he arrive? What time did he leave?
• 1:53
Speaker 1: Was there a booking? Was there a receipt? Were there
• 1:55
Speaker 1: card records? Were there staff schedules? Were there old rotas?
• 2:00
Speaker 1: Were there customer recollections? Was there anything, anything at all,
• 2:04
Speaker 1: that could turn this bizarre little royal fairy tale into
• 2:07
Speaker 1: verifiable fact? But instead, what did the public get? A
• 2:12
Speaker 1: national comedy routine? A thousand jokes? A million memes? Late
• 2:16
Speaker 1: night punchlines? Everyone laughing at how strange the alibi was,
• 2:21
Speaker 1: while the real obscenity sat right there in the open.
• 2:24
Speaker 1: Why in the hell Did it feel like the pizza
• 2:26
Speaker 1: company cared more about fact-checking the claim than the institutions
• 2:30
Speaker 1: that should have been squeezing the truth out of it?
• 2:33
Speaker 1: That shit's not funny. It's vomit-inducing. Because this is what
• 2:37
Speaker 1: happens when power gets wrapped in velvet. The normal rules,
• 2:41
Speaker 1: they bend. The urgency, that disappears. The questions become polite.
• 2:46
Speaker 1: The room temperature drops. Everyone starts speaking in that soft
• 2:51
Speaker 1: institutional voice they use when they're trying to make cowardice
• 2:54
Speaker 1: sound like procedure. Suddenly it's not about whether the prince
• 2:57
Speaker 1: told the truth. It's about the complexities. It's about jurisdiction.
• 3:02
Speaker 1: It's about process. It's about reputational sensitivity. It's about every
• 3:08
Speaker 1: greasy little phrase the establishment uses when it wants to
• 3:12
Speaker 1: bury a grenade without pulling the pin. And meanwhile, the
• 3:16
Speaker 1: rest of us are supposed to pretend we don't see it.
• 3:19
Speaker 1: We're supposed to pretend that this was handled like it
• 3:21
Speaker 1: would have been handled if Andrew were not royalty. We're
• 3:25
Speaker 1: supposed to pretend that if some random bloke from Woking
• 3:28
Speaker 1: gave police an alibi involving a pizza restaurant in a
• 3:31
Speaker 1: case connected to trafficking allegations, that alibi would not have
• 3:36
Speaker 1: been torn apart down to the atoms. We're supposed to
• 3:39
Speaker 1: pretend that an ordinary man would have been granted the
• 3:42
Speaker 1: same cushion, the same distance, the same oxygen, the same
• 3:46
Speaker 1: careful language, the same endless benefit of the doubt. Please.
• 3:52
Speaker 1: If this had been anybody else, investigators would have been
• 3:55
Speaker 1: up that restaurant's exhaust vent. They would have been tracking
• 3:58
Speaker 1: down former employees, cross-checking timelines, pulling anything they could still pull,
• 4:03
Speaker 1: and interviewing anyone who might remember a royal face walking
• 4:07
Speaker 1: through the door. They would not have treated the alibi
• 4:10
Speaker 1: like some delicate porcelain heirloom handed down from the House
• 4:13
Speaker 1: of Windsor. They would have treated it like evidence. Because
• 4:17
Speaker 1: that's what it's supposed to be. A claim. A testable claim.
• 4:21
Speaker 1: a timeline marker, a factual assertion from a man desperately
• 4:25
Speaker 1: trying to explain why he could not have been somewhere else.
• 4:29
Speaker 1: But because it was Andrew, the whole thing became theater,
• 4:33
Speaker 1: and not even good theater, cheap theater, rotten theater, theater
• 4:36
Speaker 1: with bad lighting and worse acting. A prince sat there
• 4:41
Speaker 1: and told the world he remembered being at Pizza Express
• 4:44
Speaker 1: because it was apparently such a memorable occasion for him,
• 4:47
Speaker 1: a royal man eating chain pizza and woking, the moon
• 4:50
Speaker 1: landing and of middle-class dining, and we're all expected to
• 4:54
Speaker 1: absorb that like it was a credible shield against something
• 4:57
Speaker 1: as serious as what Virginia alleged? And yo, let's be
• 5:01
Speaker 1: honest about why this particular detail became infamous. It was
• 5:06
Speaker 1: not just because Pizza Express is funny. It was because
• 5:09
Speaker 1: the alibi sounded like it had been assembled in a
• 5:11
Speaker 1: panic by people who had never spoken to normal humans before.
• 5:16
Speaker 1: It sounded like a committee of palace handlers locked themselves
• 5:19
Speaker 1: in a room and said, Yo, we need something relatable.
• 5:22
Speaker 1: What do commoners do? They eat pizza. Where do they
• 5:25
Speaker 1: eat it? Somewhere with parking. Excellent. Send them out. Then,
• 5:29
Speaker 1: Andrew delivered it with that dead-eyed royal certainty. The confidence
• 5:33
Speaker 1: of a man who has spent his entire life being
• 5:36
Speaker 1: believed by people paid to nod. And that's what made
• 5:39
Speaker 1: it so disgusting for me. Not merely that the story's odd,
• 5:43
Speaker 1: but that he seemed genuinely stunned that the public did
• 5:46
Speaker 1: not bow before it. He seemed confused that people had
• 5:49
Speaker 1: follow-up questions. He seemed offended by skepticism. As if asking
• 5:54
Speaker 1: a prince to prove his own alibi was some vulgar
• 5:57
Speaker 1: breach of etiquette. And I think that's where the rage
• 6:00
Speaker 1: comes in. Because survivors don't get that treatment. Survivors don't
• 6:04
Speaker 1: get to sit down, say one strange thing, and have
• 6:07
Speaker 1: half the establishment tiptoe away from scrutiny. Survivors get carved up.
• 6:12
Speaker 1: Survivors get their dates challenged, their memories challenged, their motives challenged.
• 6:16
Speaker 1: They're trauma challenged. Their entire lives dragged through the mud
• 6:20
Speaker 1: by lawyers, pundits, palace whisperers, and anonymous sources. Survivors are
• 6:25
Speaker 1: expected to produce perfect recall from the worst moments of
• 6:29
Speaker 1: their lives. But Andrew? Andrew says Pizza Express, and the
• 6:33
Speaker 1: world is invited to treat that like a sacred royal
• 6:35
Speaker 1: GPS coordinate. That's a sickness. That is the two-tiered system
• 6:41
Speaker 1: wearing a paper crown. And one of the most nauseating parts...
• 6:45
Speaker 1: is that the Pizza Express angle accidentally exposes the whole scam.
• 6:49
Speaker 1: Because it shows who actually has to worry about consequences
• 6:52
Speaker 1: in this world. The restaurant had to worry. The brand
• 6:56
Speaker 1: had to worry. The company had to wonder, whoa, wait
• 6:59
Speaker 1: a minute, are we now part of this circus? Are
• 7:02
Speaker 1: we being used as the backdrop for one of the
• 7:04
Speaker 1: most infamous royal alibis in modern history? But the prince, well,
• 7:08
Speaker 1: the prince got space. The prince got time. The prince
• 7:12
Speaker 1: got careful institutional language. The prince got years of soft landings,
• 7:17
Speaker 1: palace buffers, legal insulation, and the kind of elite protection
• 7:21
Speaker 1: that ordinary people will never experience in their lives. And
• 7:26
Speaker 1: that's why people are furious. Not because of pizza. Not
• 7:29
Speaker 1: because of a branch in Woking. Not because of a
• 7:31
Speaker 1: bad television interview. People are furious because this ridiculous little
• 7:36
Speaker 1: detail became a window into something much darker. A system
• 7:40
Speaker 1: that knows exactly how to become aggressive when the target
• 7:43
Speaker 1: is weak. and exactly how to become cautious when the
• 7:47
Speaker 1: target is powerful. Scotland Yard should have been embarrassed. The
• 7:52
Speaker 1: British establishment should have been embarrassed. Every person who ever
• 7:56
Speaker 1: gave the public some sanctimonious speech about justice, due process,
• 8:00
Speaker 1: institutional integrity, and faith in the system should have choked
• 8:04
Speaker 1: on those words the moment a pizza chain looked more
• 8:06
Speaker 1: publicly alert than the people entrusted with accountability. Because that
• 8:11
Speaker 1: is not a small failure. What that is, is a
• 8:14
Speaker 1: neon sign flashing over the entire Epstein scandal. Power protects power.
• 8:20
Speaker 1: And everybody else gets paperwork. And yo, spare me the
• 8:24
Speaker 1: lectures about how complicated it all was. Everything is complicated
• 8:28
Speaker 1: when the accused has a title. Everything is complicated when
• 8:32
Speaker 1: the palace is involved. Everything is complicated when the powerful
• 8:37
Speaker 1: need time to manage the blast radius. But when the
• 8:40
Speaker 1: accused is poor... unknown, disposable, or unprotected, suddenly that complexity vanishes.
• 8:47
Speaker 1: Suddenly the system finds its spine. Suddenly records can be found.
• 8:51
Speaker 1: Timelines can be built. Witnesses can be pressured. And every
• 8:56
Speaker 1: inconsistency becomes a weapon. That's the fraud. That's the disgrace.
• 9:02
Speaker 1: That's the part they want you to stop noticing. Prince
• 9:06
Speaker 1: Andrew's Pizza Express alibi should have been treated like any
• 9:09
Speaker 1: other alibi in any other serious matter. Verify it, challenge it,
• 9:14
Speaker 1: stress test it, and if it falls apart, say so.
• 9:18
Speaker 1: But instead, the whole thing became another example of royal
• 9:20
Speaker 1: exceptionalism dressed up as institutional restraint. Another case where the
• 9:26
Speaker 1: powerful float above the consequences while survivors are left clawing
• 9:30
Speaker 1: for recognition from a system... that seems allergic to courage.
• 9:34
Speaker 1: Because listen, this is not really about woking. It's not
• 9:36
Speaker 1: really about pizza. It's not even only about Andrew's catastrophic interview.
• 9:41
Speaker 1: It's about the grotesque humiliation of watching a modern justice
• 9:45
Speaker 1: system behave like a palace servant. It's about watching institutions
• 9:49
Speaker 1: lose their nerve the moment a royal name enters the room.
• 9:53
Speaker 1: It's about the unbearable insult of seeing a chain restaurant
• 9:55
Speaker 1: appear more determined to examine a prince's story than the
• 9:59
Speaker 1: people who who should have been ripping that story apart
• 10:02
Speaker 1: in the name of truth. So when people laugh about
• 10:06
Speaker 1: Pizza Express, they should remember what they are actually laughing at.
• 10:10
Speaker 1: They're laughing because the alternative is rage. They're laughing because
• 10:14
Speaker 1: the whole thing is so absurd that it almost hides
• 10:17
Speaker 1: how disgusting it is. They're laughing because the prince, accused
• 10:21
Speaker 1: in connection with Epstein's orbit, gave the world a pizza alibi,
• 10:25
Speaker 1: and somehow the system still managed to look more ridiculous
• 10:28
Speaker 1: than he did. And look, that's not just incompetence. That's
• 10:32
Speaker 1: not just an embarrassment. That's elite protection in its purest,
• 10:36
Speaker 1: ugliest form. A survivor gets a microscope, a prince gets
• 10:41
Speaker 1: a cushion. And apparently, in modern Britain, if you want
• 10:45
Speaker 1: someone to take a royal alibi seriously enough to actually
• 10:48
Speaker 1: look into it, Don't call the institutions of justice. Call
• 10:53
Speaker 1: the damn pizza place. All the information that goes with
• 10:57
Speaker 1: this episode can be found in the description box.
