- 0:29Good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:31Do you think you gossip mean it's a legitimate question to
- 0:34ask, right? Do you think you gossip?
- 0:36Most people will say no I don't gossip or maybe a little lie
- 0:39gossip but I don't do anything really severe in the gossiping
- 0:43realm. Well, I'm going to challenge you
- 0:45with it because I think a lot of us gossip and we don't even
- 0:48realize we do it and it goes right up there with complaining.
- 0:52I think a lot of us do it and we don't even realize that we are
- 0:55complaining. We think we're just commenting.
- 0:57I love that. I have a client who will say to
- 1:01Oh, I'm only teasing. I'm just commenting on things.
- 1:04But no, it's really complaining and I have to constantly
- 1:07re-evaluate that with her and say, no, it's not that it's
- 1:10this. No, it's not that.
- 1:11It's this, and it takes a lot to be the person who can stop
- 1:16yourself, pause and say there is something in me that's causing
- 1:21me to do this. Now, why am I bringing this up?
- 1:23Because when you put that out there it's creating this viral
- 1:28energy that attracts things to you and when or in a certain
- 1:31energy and you have certain things around that energy, you
- 1:35know that are in out in the world, they bring it right back
- 1:38to you. So whether we realize it or not
- 1:41the complaining affects us and it creates more and more
- 1:44challenges for us, because, of course, we're attracting
- 1:48wherever our energy goes. So, if we're in this position,
- 1:51and we just keep complaining, and we just keep complaining, we
- 1:53just keep complaining and we keep gossiping.
- 1:57Do you really think the good things are going to happen?
- 1:59And in this world, where We are constantly barraged and I do
- 2:04mean it's a barrage of negative energy non-stop negative energy
- 2:09out there. We have to be great at
- 2:13protecting ourselves. We have to do so much work to
- 2:17protect ourselves from every little bit of this, the
- 2:20negativity that's out there, because it's so easy to get lost
- 2:24in. It is so easy to get lost in it
- 2:27and we don't want to do that. We just don't want to do it.
- 2:30We want to We want to keep ourselves in a framework.
- 2:36That brings great things to us, we don't want to hurt other
- 2:40people in the process. So we also think like, you know,
- 2:43okay well nobody knows, I'm gossiping, but you know, you're
- 2:47gossiping, you know, you're complaining, you know, it's a
- 2:51part of what you're doing and you need to pay attention and
- 2:54stop it, even if it's little complaints.
- 2:57It's a fact that if something's bothering you you can have that
- 3:01emotion. That says, hey, this is
- 3:03annoying. You complaining about it.
- 3:04Like I don't like the way this thing works.
- 3:06Or why don't we have any pens in this house that right?
- 3:09You know you have a moment you can make a comment but when you
- 3:12just keep talking about it and doing nothing about it, that's
- 3:16when it goes from having something that's like a moment
- 3:18of like or two, a moment of. Okay, now I'm not just
- 3:22legitimately complaining Non-Stop about something and I'm
- 3:25not doing anything about it. So, Years ago, my husband and I
- 3:28started this thing called The Annoying list.
- 3:31We put it on the refrigerator and we would write down the
- 3:34things that were annoying to us and it was just a list that was
- 3:37you know, on the refrigerator all the time where we could drop
- 3:40things on if it was annoying. And then we could figure out how
- 3:44to fix it. Whether it was him fixing things
- 3:46off the list or me fixing things off the list or me saying, hey,
- 3:50this is something I can't fix its on the annoying list.
- 3:53Can you fix it? It gave us a place where we
- 3:55could dump it out of our head, so we didn't feel Feel the need
- 3:58to keep it because nobody wants to keep that toxic stuff in and
- 4:03some stuff is just stupid. And some stuff you can't fix on
- 4:06your own, you need to have somebody help you fix it.
- 4:08So for me, I learned early on having that annoying list was a
- 4:12great place to get it out of my head, put it on a piece of paper
- 4:16and have the safety of knowing it's not in me now, it's
- 4:19externally somewhere else. And that my husband could help
- 4:23me and he could, you know, figure out what he needed to do
- 4:26in order to fix some of the Off on there and I loved it.
- 4:29I thought it was just the easiest most complete thing to
- 4:31do. And to this day, it still works
- 4:34great. And then I'm not nagging at him
- 4:36about doing things, he can just go to the list, see if there's
- 4:39anything on there. And sometimes he will actually
- 4:41say to me, Hey, listen, that's not going to happen.
- 4:43I'm not doing that. And I can say, okay well what's
- 4:45the reason do we need to get somebody else to do it?
- 4:47Is it in sometimes? He'll just say to me because
- 4:49it's legitimately silly and I don't want to deal with it and
- 4:51that's okay. Then I have to figure out is it
- 4:54important to me or not? So, It is complaining and
- 4:59gossip, don't work. Point is that if you're doing it
- 5:03recognized it be honest with yourself and get your butt in
- 5:07gear to stop it. Try to go a whole week seven
- 5:12days without saying one negative thing and gossiping at all and
- 5:17see if you can make it a my guess is you won't even make it
- 5:21the first two hours because all of us have been so conditioned
- 5:25to just complain just Complain complain.
- 5:29So you need to work on it is a work in progress, start over,
- 5:33just give yourself the gift, I've given it a shot and seeing
- 5:37if you can manage it because it's really hard and it's
- 5:41absolutely necessary to A Healthy Mind.
- 5:45Healthy body, healthy, soul to stop participating in it.
- 5:48So I challenge you all to take it on see today.
- 5:51See how long you can go? Even just today, no complaining,
- 5:54no gossiping. See if you can do it.
- 5:57All right, my friends. I will see you tomorrow.
- 5:59Take care. Bye.
