- 0:38Speaker 2: That's a lot.
- 0:39Speaker 1: Yeah, I believe it or not. As soon as one
- 0:41Speaker 1: shopping spree ends, it's time to start planning the next.

- 0:58Speaker 2: this year?
- 0:59Speaker 1: Yeah, so shopping th are your really special. So we're
- 1:00Speaker 1: excited to have returned downtown to the convention Center this year.
- 1:03Speaker 1: The past two years we've been out the fairgrounds. But
- 1:07Speaker 1: we have one hundred and forty three vendors lined up.
- 1:09Speaker 2: Oh that's a lot.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Yeah it is. It's a lot. And what's cool about
- 1:12Speaker 1: a shopping spree is it's folks that you're not going
- 1:14Speaker 1: to find anywhere else, right, and it's all in one room,
- 1:17Speaker 1: So you can come do your holiday shopping for everyone
- 1:19Speaker 1: on your Christmas list all in one place and get
- 1:22Speaker 1: unique gifts that, again you're not going to find on Amazon,
- 1:24Speaker 1: you're not going to find in the you know, shopping
- 1:26Speaker 1: center down the corner. Everything from kid gifts to home
- 1:29Speaker 1: decor to women's jewelry, you name it, we've got it.
- 1:33Speaker 2: There's one that's there every year. He's got beautiful decoration.
- 1:35Speaker 2: Which one is that? Which vendor is that?
- 1:37Speaker 1: I think you're referencing TomTom and Company.
- 1:39Speaker 2: The beautiful pieces that you can use for years and years.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Beautiful And he's a rally base vendor, so we're excited
- 1:44Speaker 1: to have him back.
- 1:45Speaker 2: And there's also I've drug my husband with me a
- 1:47Speaker 2: few years because of make them hold bags of course,
- 1:50Speaker 2: but he's always snacking on something. Because you have incredible, local,
- 1:54Speaker 2: really specialty food items that you can't find in other places.
- 1:58Speaker 1: We have a lot of really cool specially this year.
- 2:01Speaker 1: We have Piedmont pennies they're almost like a cheese straw,
- 2:05Speaker 1: that are from Charlotte. We have several local honey companies.
- 2:10Speaker 1: There's some chocolate that is a like a sugar free chocolate.
- 2:13Speaker 1: It's sweetened with dates. It's apparently delicious. I can't wait
- 2:16Speaker 1: to try it. So yes, all kinds of really cool
- 2:19Speaker 1: specialty food.
- 2:20Speaker 2: And not only is this a fun event, but it's
- 2:21Speaker 2: also a fundraising event, the biggest fundraising event for the
- 2:24Speaker 2: Junior League. And where did the proceeds go from a
- 2:27Speaker 2: shopping spree?

- 2:31Speaker 1: we'll be awarding three legacy grants. I can't tell you
- 2:33Speaker 1: who we are just yet, but stay tuned for more
- 2:35Speaker 1: on that. But proceeds also benefit the community partners we
- 2:38Speaker 1: partner with throughout the year. Some that you may be
- 2:41Speaker 1: familiar with or the Food Bank of Central Eastern North Carolina,
- 2:45Speaker 1: backpack Buddies. We support several schools, Green Chair Project who
- 2:49Speaker 1: provides furniture and Helping Horse.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Which is incredible because they're all such great organizations. Now
- 2:55Speaker 2: this year, Santa is supposed to be coming to a
- 2:58Speaker 2: shopping spree.
- 2:59Speaker 1: Yeah, Santa will be there twice, So he'll be here
- 3:01Speaker 1: on Saturday from eleven to one thirty and then Santa
- 3:05Speaker 1: and missus Claus will be there Sunday from eleven to two.
- 3:09Speaker 1: So you'll pay for your journal. Admission to get in

- 3:18Speaker 2: That's wonderful. And then also an author's corner as well.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Yes, so we're partnering with our friends over at Quarrel
- 3:23Speaker 1: Ridge and we have two authors a day. So we
- 3:27Speaker 1: have everything from memoirs to children's stories to some Southern
- 3:31Speaker 1: romance fiction. But the authors will be there with their books,
- 3:34Speaker 1: they'll sign them for you and you can take them
