- 0:00SPEAKER_00: You the adventurer?
- 0:02SPEAKER_00: Yes, you.
- 0:03SPEAKER_00: Do you desire knowledge of immense worlds and arcane power?
- 0:07SPEAKER_00: A codex of untold stories and lore?
- 0:10SPEAKER_00: Or perhaps simply easy listening for your daily commute?
- 0:13SPEAKER_00: Then feast your eyes, or more accurately, yes, upon Dungeon Pedia.
- 0:19SPEAKER_00: Shit's about to get nerdy in here.
- 0:46SPEAKER_04: Taylor Stanfield.
- 0:47SPEAKER_03: And I'm Travis Peasley.
- 0:48SPEAKER_04: And I am a mess uh a fuck up.
- 0:51SPEAKER_04: I was trying to be polite, and I I mean I You just gave up halfway through.
- 0:55SPEAKER_04: You were like, nah.
- 0:56SPEAKER_04: I mean, I'm not a fuck up.
- 0:58SPEAKER_04: I just can't keep track of dates, apparently.
- 1:00SPEAKER_01: It's hard to do sometimes.
- 1:02SPEAKER_04: Um, so if you listened to last week's ad break, you might be somewhat surprised to hear an episode.
- 1:09SPEAKER_04: Um, or or have seen the notification or something.
- 1:12SPEAKER_04: Surprise.
- 1:13SPEAKER_04: Um I messed up uh in that I miscalculated when uh we would have to go on our itty bitty hiatus, and that won't be until next week.
- 1:23SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:24SPEAKER_01: So so episode this week.
- 1:26SPEAKER_04: Hi, no episode next week.
- 1:28SPEAKER_01: Even then, we might still be able to squeak through with something.
- 1:32SPEAKER_01: We're gonna figure something.
- 1:34SPEAKER_03: We'll let you know.
- 1:35SPEAKER_03: We we know approximately one percent more of what's going on with that situation than you guys do.
- 1:41SPEAKER_03: So we'll let you know.
- 1:43SPEAKER_03: Also, um Also, time isn't real, so don't feel bad for not being able to keep track of dates.
- 1:48SPEAKER_03: True.
- 1:48SPEAKER_03: The only reason I can keep can keep track of dates is because when I have something I have to do, I'm like, okay, you're gonna open up the calendar on your phone and you're gonna put all the information in about this thing right this second because you will not do it later.
- 2:02SPEAKER_03: Don't say you're gonna do it later because you won't.
- 2:04SPEAKER_03: So for any of you out here who are listening who have something you should write down, go do it right now because you won't later.
- 2:11SPEAKER_04: On that note.
- 2:12SPEAKER_01: Anyway, um just life pro tips.
- 2:15SPEAKER_01: Just a little heads up as well.
- 2:17SPEAKER_01: At the time that this episode goes live, you only have a couple hours left until the deadline for our dice giveaway.
- 2:25SPEAKER_03: Yep, that's gonna be ending at noon, 12 p.m.
- 2:30SPEAKER_03: uh US Central Time.
- 2:31SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 2:32SPEAKER_04: If you are listening to this after noon, 12 p.m.
- 2:34SPEAKER_04: U.S.
- 2:35SPEAKER_04: Central Time, uh, we're deeply sorry.
- 2:37SPEAKER_04: Timeline is up and we're sorry.
- 2:39SPEAKER_04: Oh, well, I was going to say you can go find out who won or yeah, who won on our Twitter.
- 2:45SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
- 2:46SPEAKER_01: Also that.
- 2:47SPEAKER_01: If you haven't already entered the giveaway, go to our Twitter.
- 2:50SPEAKER_01: It's on the pinned spot.
- 2:54SPEAKER_03: Assuming you're listening to this pretty close after it comes out.
- 2:57SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 2:57SPEAKER_01: But regardless.
- 2:59SPEAKER_01: Just wanted to give you that heads up.
- 3:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 3:01SPEAKER_01: So I finally managed to get my research done without it closing on me.
- 3:05SPEAKER_04: Oh god, that did happen.
- 3:07SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that that that's why our uh stuff got a little messy.
- 3:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 3:11SPEAKER_01: So this episode was kind of sort of suggested by Anthony.
- 3:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 3:19SPEAKER_01: Like directly.
- 3:20SPEAKER_01: He had just made a post on Twitter about the U1T, and I looked into them and it was like, I'm gonna do this because this looks interesting.
- 3:27SPEAKER_01: So that's what we're talking about.
- 3:29SPEAKER_04: Yay!
- 3:30SPEAKER_01: Also, I figured we would get to them one day.
- 3:32SPEAKER_01: A side note on that.
- 3:34SPEAKER_01: During my research, I figured out that this is gonna end up being a two-parter because there's more information than I thought.
- 3:41SPEAKER_01: Beautiful.
- 3:42SPEAKER_01: So part one of the UNT is basically gonna be the very early, like first and second edition, and we have an ecology of the Yuan T that we're gonna go through.
- 3:55SPEAKER_01: And we might touch a little bit more in third edition, and that's probably where we're gonna end because we just won't have the time past that.
- 4:02SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it happens.
- 4:04SPEAKER_03: Sometimes, sometimes it happens.
- 4:06SPEAKER_01: So we have an ecology article, so that's exciting.
- 4:09SPEAKER_01: The uh just baseline yuan te, this is the same throughout like all editions.
- 4:16SPEAKER_04: Right, it's the the unifying factor.
- 4:19SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 4:19SPEAKER_01: Are serpent-like creatures.
- 4:22SPEAKER_01: Uh, they can range from being like almost identical to humans to being almost completely snake-like.
- 4:30SPEAKER_01: Beautiful.
- 4:31SPEAKER_01: That's interesting.
- 4:32SPEAKER_01: Um, they all have some sort of like serpent-ish feature of some sort.
- 4:39SPEAKER_01: Even the ones that look almost identical to humans, they generally will have a something that will set them apart if only just like a minor thing, like their eyes are slit.
- 4:51SPEAKER_01: They have like the snake tongue.
- 4:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they would have like a forked tongue.
- 4:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that was my first thought.
- 4:56SPEAKER_01: They'll have scales somewhere.
- 4:59SPEAKER_03: Yeah, like a patch of gotcha.
- 5:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah, okay.
- 5:02SPEAKER_01: Um, their colors usually range anywhere between just like some simple greens and browns, but they can also range to having the like elaborate like swirls and stripes and diamond patterns that you see on snakes.
- 5:17SPEAKER_01: And there have also been some cases of blue and red colored scales and patterns that have also been seen.
- 5:25SPEAKER_01: Oh man.
- 5:25SPEAKER_01: So they can be very pretty, but don't get me wrong, these things are horribly evil.
- 5:31SPEAKER_03: Yay! Dang it!
- 5:33SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 5:35SPEAKER_01: So in 1983, they were released in the Monster Manual 2 for first edition.
- 5:42SPEAKER_03: Mm-hmm.
- 5:43SPEAKER_01: And in this it says that they are all devout demon worshippers.
- 5:47SPEAKER_04: Cool.
- 5:48SPEAKER_01: Love it.
- 5:49SPEAKER_01: It labels them as degenerate and corrupt.
- 5:52SPEAKER_04: Same.
- 5:55unknown: Okay.
- 5:55SPEAKER_01: Um, the only sort of like where they came from part that we have from this edition is their blood became fouled through dark and unknown practices.
- 6:09SPEAKER_04: Fouled.
- 6:10SPEAKER_04: That's a that's a word.
- 6:11SPEAKER_01: That is a word.
- 6:12SPEAKER_01: Which caused them to produce monstrosities.
- 6:16SPEAKER_03: I mean, that sounds like pretty run-of-the-mill demon stuff.
- 6:20SPEAKER_03: Like that sounds like a like a cursed bloodline kind of thing.
- 6:24SPEAKER_01: Kind of.
- 6:25SPEAKER_01: There are three types of UNT, and this is true for almost all editions.
- 6:32SPEAKER_01: Almost.
- 6:33SPEAKER_01: Almost.
- 6:33SPEAKER_01: Almost.
- 6:34SPEAKER_01: You have purebloods, half-breeds, and abominations.
- 6:39SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 6:40SPEAKER_01: And these are exactly in the opposite order of liked and disliked than you would think.
- 6:48SPEAKER_04: Abominations are revered, I'm guessing.
- 6:50SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 6:51SPEAKER_01: And purebloods are the weakest of them all, and considered to be Inferior.
- 6:59SPEAKER_01: Inferior.
- 7:00SPEAKER_01: In interesting.
- 7:01SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 7:02SPEAKER_01: So purebloods are the ones that look almost identical to humans.
- 7:08SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 7:09SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 7:10SPEAKER_01: So they're the one and they're called purebloods because they originated from human.
- 7:16SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 7:17SPEAKER_01: And then like when those ones that were fouled produced it started producing these more snake-like.
- 7:26SPEAKER_04: I guess I was thinking pure blood in terms of like pure UNT.
- 7:30SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 7:31SPEAKER_03: Which would be like more snake.
- 7:33SPEAKER_03: And that's why I felt the need to clarify.
- 7:35SPEAKER_04: Clarify that.
- 7:36SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 7:37SPEAKER_04: Interesting.
- 7:38SPEAKER_01: It gives some more uh examples of what exactly can set them apart, such as like scaly hands, or like we said, a forked tongue, reptilian-like eyes.
- 7:52SPEAKER_01: Sometimes their tongues will kind of like flicker in and out of their mouth like a snake does.
- 7:59SPEAKER_03: I'm just a I'm just they just like they blep a little bit.
- 8:02SPEAKER_03: They blep.
- 8:03SPEAKER_03: They blep.
- 8:04SPEAKER_03: I like it.
- 8:05SPEAKER_01: Uh despite the fact that they are the most inferior of the UNT, they are the ones that handle the affairs with the outside world.
- 8:14SPEAKER_04: Probably because they're the most inferior.
- 8:16SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 8:16SPEAKER_01: And because they can pass as human 80% of the time.
- 8:19SPEAKER_04: Ah.
- 8:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 8:20SPEAKER_01: Smart.
- 8:21SPEAKER_01: So there's still a 20% chance for them to be discovered, but it's kind of hard to tell unless you like know what to look for.
- 8:28SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 8:28SPEAKER_03: That's fair.
- 8:29SPEAKER_03: Or some some details are probably more obvious than others.
- 8:32SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 8:33SPEAKER_03: Uh like scaly hands.
- 8:35SPEAKER_03: You you may have a harder time hiding that than like a fork tongue.
- 8:39SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 8:40SPEAKER_03: You know, just don't open your mouth too much.
- 8:42SPEAKER_01: Uh half-breeds, I mean, as much as you would expect, are pretty much like an even mix between them.
- 8:48SPEAKER_01: Between like human and reptilian.
- 8:50SPEAKER_01: Gotcha.
- 8:51SPEAKER_01: They will always have a part of their body that is that of a snake.
- 8:55SPEAKER_01: And it actually gives a chart to roll a six on.
- 9:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 9:01SPEAKER_01: No, we love these charts.
- 9:02SPEAKER_01: To create half-breeds.
- 9:06SPEAKER_01: Nice.
- 9:07SPEAKER_01: They can end with having a snake head, a torso that can bend and move like a snake's.
- 9:14SPEAKER_01: The torso will end in a snake's tail rather than legs.
- 9:18SPEAKER_01: Nice.
- 9:19SPEAKER_01: Um they can have snakes' arms.
- 9:24SPEAKER_01: Their body would be fully covered in scales.
- 9:28SPEAKER_01: They would also have a snake tail also growing out of like their backside.
- 9:34SPEAKER_01: Ideal.
- 9:35SPEAKER_01: Which I'm assuming would be kind of like where the tailbone is, maybe.
- 9:41SPEAKER_01: But for the most part, like on that one, they would be all human except for this one like snake tail coming out of their ass, basically.
- 9:49SPEAKER_03: Cool.
- 9:49SPEAKER_03: I mean, at that point, that really is just like a tail.
- 9:53SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I guess.
- 9:54SPEAKER_01: But can you imagine like seeing something that has a snake head?
- 9:58SPEAKER_01: And keep in mind, these things are medium-sized, like humanoid-sized creatures.
- 10:03SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 10:04SPEAKER_01: A snake head, and the rest of it is human.
- 10:07SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I can because I just Googled them and I saw some pictures.
- 10:10SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 10:11SPEAKER_01: Or, you know.
- 10:12SPEAKER_03: Cool Artas.
- 10:13SPEAKER_03: I mean, that's kind of the that's kind of the the portrayals of like Egyptian gods vibes.
- 10:19SPEAKER_03: True.
- 10:19SPEAKER_03: How they basically look like humans from the neck down, but they have like animal heads.
- 10:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 10:24SPEAKER_01: Or one that has like human head, human torso, and then snake arms and snake like tails.
- 10:34SPEAKER_03: You know what I think would be bad is like human head, snake everything else.
- 10:38SPEAKER_03: Like it's just a human face on the end of a snake.
- 10:41SPEAKER_03: I would not like that.
- 10:41SPEAKER_03: I don't like that.
- 10:42SPEAKER_01: That is also a possibility, but those are possibilities for abominations.
- 10:47SPEAKER_01: Ooh.
- 10:48SPEAKER_01: Um abominations, which are good.
- 10:51SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 10:51SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 10:52SPEAKER_01: Some combinations of the half breeds obviously would give them like different attacks.
- 10:57SPEAKER_01: So one with a snake head would use that to bite, one with snake arms would use those to bite.
- 11:03SPEAKER_03: One with like a snake tail might constrict.
- 11:08SPEAKER_01: Um past that though, they can use any weapon a human can as long as they have the capability.
- 11:16SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 11:17SPEAKER_03: Um What if you just had like one of your snake hands like bite the sword?
- 11:22SPEAKER_03: So like you can't hold it, but you could just have your arm.
- 11:24SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I was like, I don't know if the snake arm could hold up the sword, but I mean there's some thick snakes out there.
- 11:30SPEAKER_03: I mean, that's true.
- 11:31SPEAKER_03: There's some some thick boys in the jungle.
- 11:35SPEAKER_01: Abominations are the strongest of them all.
- 11:38SPEAKER_01: And they are either just totally snake-like or they only have the one human feature.
- 11:44SPEAKER_01: Which would be really any random one feature.
- 11:47SPEAKER_03: They could have legs or just a head or like just an arm.
- 11:52SPEAKER_03: No, they're just a snake with a human butt.
- 11:55SPEAKER_03: Except instead of the human with essentially a tail that's like the back half of a snake, they're just a snake that just randomly, you know, smoothed down and then just like bedomp.
- 12:07SPEAKER_05: Oh my goodness.
- 12:08SPEAKER_01: Um, to make it a little worse, any Yuan T with a human head can cast the following spells once per day.
- 12:17SPEAKER_01: Oh boy.
- 12:17SPEAKER_01: They can use cause fear, uh, darkness within a 15-foot radius, snake charm.
- 12:24SPEAKER_01: Nice, nice.
- 12:25SPEAKER_01: Uh sticks to snakes, neutralized poison.
- 12:30SPEAKER_03: That's that one that it literally turns a stick into snakes.
- 12:34SPEAKER_03: The um um Prince of Egypt.
- 12:36SPEAKER_03: Um, yeah.
- 12:37SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 12:38SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 12:39SPEAKER_03: It's like that one part in the Prince of Egypt.
- 12:41SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 12:42SPEAKER_03: You know, you know the part.
- 12:43SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 12:44SPEAKER_01: They could use suggestion or polymorph other.
- 12:49SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 12:49SPEAKER_01: Hmm.
- 12:50SPEAKER_01: That's and all of those are once per day.
- 12:52SPEAKER_01: So it's not like they're limited to just picking one.
- 12:54SPEAKER_01: They can use all of those.
- 12:56SPEAKER_01: Go go fuck yourself.
- 12:57SPEAKER_01: Evidently.
- 12:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 12:59SPEAKER_01: Um, they do have their own like spoken language, but they can also speak with any snake or snake-like creature.
- 13:07SPEAKER_01: So Naga or something similar.
- 13:10SPEAKER_01: Or just like snake.
- 13:11SPEAKER_01: Just a regular snake.
- 13:12SPEAKER_01: Just a regular snake.
- 13:13SPEAKER_01: And if they have a human head, they can also speak common and chaotic.
- 13:18SPEAKER_01: Because we're in first edition, we're chaotic.
- 13:19SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah, we're full language.
- 13:21SPEAKER_03: So they basically they know a lot of slang and they say a lot of cusses.
- 13:25SPEAKER_03: That's what chaotic is.
- 13:26SPEAKER_03: That's what chaotic is.
- 13:28SPEAKER_03: Slying and cusses.
- 13:29SPEAKER_01: I'd agree with that.
- 13:31SPEAKER_01: Going on to second edition, in 1989, they were introduced in the Monstrous Compendium Volume 1.
- 13:38SPEAKER_01: And this gives them a little bit more detailed of like their backstory, sort of.
- 13:46SPEAKER_01: And by that I mean it literally just says that they are descendants of humans whose blood has been fouled instead of just saying that their blood has been fouled.
- 13:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so it's.
- 13:56SPEAKER_01: So that one actually explains that they were once human, which is why they have various features.
- 14:02SPEAKER_01: This does note that they are highly intelligent and highly evil.
- 14:08SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 14:09SPEAKER_01: So they're just really intelligent creatures.
- 14:13unknown: Yeah.
- 14:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 14:16SPEAKER_03: Man, why did I why did I think otherwise?
- 14:19SPEAKER_03: I have no idea.
- 14:20SPEAKER_03: Like, I got so sad earlier when you said that they're like highly evil, and I was like, oh, I don't know why I'm surprised.
- 14:27SPEAKER_01: Um, abominations are now 50% of the time all snake, and otherwise they will only have a single human feature, which they limit to either having a head or arms of a human feature.
- 14:41SPEAKER_03: Okay, can you imagine just like a snake that's just like jacked?
- 14:45SPEAKER_03: Oh my god.
- 14:46SPEAKER_03: Like it it kind of like goes up into like that cobra pose, but it has like arms.
- 14:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's a little frightening.
- 14:54SPEAKER_03: And they're like, and they're like super buff, so they kind of you know how some people can't like put their arms all the way down because they're so buff.
- 15:01SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's like a that would be them.
- 15:02SPEAKER_03: It's like standing there.
- 15:04SPEAKER_03: I I like it.
- 15:06SPEAKER_01: Um they are also now large instead of medium size because abominations are 10 feet long.
- 15:12SPEAKER_03: Whereas I mean that's oh no, that's pretty long.
- 15:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah, human or well, purebloods and half-breeds are roughly like probably five to seven.
- 15:23SPEAKER_03: Yeah, like human.
- 15:24SPEAKER_03: Right, human-sized.
- 15:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 15:26SPEAKER_01: Uh this clarifies that half-breeds and abominations completely disdain wearing human clothing or armor, whereas purebloods don't mind it at all.
- 15:37SPEAKER_03: You kind of have to if that's what you're like if you're if you're the the ones associating with the outside world, like you can't just stroll up naked.
- 15:46SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 15:47SPEAKER_03: You know, with your never mind.
- 15:50SPEAKER_03: Never mind.
- 15:51SPEAKER_01: This part, I'm not quite sure why they decided to include this, but it's whatever, I guess.
- 16:00SPEAKER_01: Uh, yuam tea do not give off an odor that humans can detect.
- 16:05SPEAKER_01: Animals, however, can detect a dry, musty smell coming off of them.
- 16:10SPEAKER_04: Presumably, so that, you know, you could um detect like you could still have a chance to check them.
- 16:19SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 16:19SPEAKER_03: Well, and and also that could be a factor in maybe discovering that like a pureblood yuanty is a yuanty and not a person.
- 16:27SPEAKER_03: True.
- 16:28SPEAKER_03: Because it's like it's weird how they don't ever smell.
- 16:31SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 16:31SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 16:32SPEAKER_01: Hmm.
- 16:32SPEAKER_01: I didn't think about that one.
- 16:34SPEAKER_03: You know, like we've we've been out in this like hot environment and they're not sweating and they don't smell bad.
- 16:38SPEAKER_03: What's up with that?
- 16:40SPEAKER_01: That that that's a fair point.
- 16:42SPEAKER_01: Um they prefer instead of like direct confrontation, they prefer planning elaborate traps before combat if they know it's coming, or to plan ambushes.
- 16:54SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that makes sense.
- 16:56SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 16:56SPEAKER_01: Because, I mean, they just don't they would rather be able to get the jump on you rather than just fighting you head on.
- 17:04SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I mean, and that makes sense with the kind of cultural yeah, and the kind of cultural vibe association with snakes being like sneaky.
- 17:12SPEAKER_03: Sneaky.
- 17:13SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 17:13SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 17:14SPEAKER_03: Even though realistically they're just little babies.
- 17:17SPEAKER_03: Snakes are my favorite animals, guys.
- 17:19SPEAKER_03: That's why I'm sad that the Yuanti are evil.
- 17:21SPEAKER_03: It's okay.
- 17:22SPEAKER_01: Um, when they are in a mixed group, the fighting order for them is always least valuable and least powerful attack first.
- 17:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 17:32SPEAKER_01: So purebloods would go before the half-breeds, the half-breeds would go before the abominations.
- 17:37SPEAKER_01: And there's usually like one abomination that is commanding the rest of them.
- 17:43SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that that makes sense given their.
- 17:45SPEAKER_03: Even though, like, objectively it sounds like based on their abilities, the abominations are probably the most threatening force.
- 17:55SPEAKER_04: I mean, and it might be one of those things, like it's more of a cultural thing.
- 17:59SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
- 17:59SPEAKER_03: I'm saying, yeah, that makes sense with their with their culture and the way they regard those different types.
- 18:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 18:07SPEAKER_01: For a bit more clarification, pure bloods have six hit dice, half breeds have seven or eight, and abominations have nine.
- 18:16SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 18:17SPEAKER_01: And they have the Thacko scores of 15, 13, and 11, respectively.
- 18:25SPEAKER_04: I should have worn my Thaco's wacko shirt today.
- 18:29SPEAKER_03: I mean, like that I mean I would say that that makes a little bit of sense, but the only sense it makes to me is that larger numbers are worse.
- 18:39SPEAKER_03: Which is that that makes sense.
- 18:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 18:43SPEAKER_01: I was gonna say, with my understanding of it, that means that like purebloods and half breeds are fairly easy to do.
- 18:49SPEAKER_03: Isn't 11 still not very good though?
- 18:52SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's still pretty high.
- 18:53SPEAKER_01: But abominations are also like bigger, so bigger target.
- 18:57unknown: Yeah.
- 18:58SPEAKER_01: But I'm going to assume that they have something to make up for more natural armor.
- 19:03SPEAKER_03: Yeah, like they might have more and they might have more HP.
- 19:06SPEAKER_03: Yeah, their score is lower.
- 19:08SPEAKER_03: I don't know, guys.
- 19:11SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
- 19:12SPEAKER_03: What if we made it backwards?
- 19:15SPEAKER_04: I mean, to be fair, that is how it started, so technically we made it backwards after we made it forwards.
- 19:19SPEAKER_03: Well, no.
- 19:21SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 19:21SPEAKER_03: No, I mean, you're right, but also when they were like figuring it out, they're like, okay, what if instead of ascending we went descending?
- 19:29SPEAKER_03: And we're like, that's genius.
- 19:33SPEAKER_03: I'm sorry.
- 19:33SPEAKER_01: It was a weird time.
- 19:35SPEAKER_01: As far as like where they live, they prefer placing their homes in like old ruins that are far from humans.
- 19:44SPEAKER_01: Nice.
- 19:45SPEAKER_01: Um, but apparently there have been cases where their civilizations were built like directly underneath like human cities.
- 19:53SPEAKER_03: Interesting.
- 19:54SPEAKER_03: That's um like it's not quite um like lizard people, but like reptilian humanoids living underneath like human societies feels a little loaded.
- 20:10SPEAKER_03: A little lizard people.
- 20:11SPEAKER_03: I'm just pointing that out.
- 20:13SPEAKER_03: Because I know somebody else will if I don't.
- 20:15SPEAKER_01: In place of stairs, they have ramps and poles.
- 20:21SPEAKER_01: They just slither up the pole! They will either slither up the pole or just kind of like slither up the ramps.
- 20:29SPEAKER_03: Aww, that's so cute.
- 20:32SPEAKER_03: Loon is die.
- 20:33SPEAKER_01: Louina's die.
- 20:35SPEAKER_01: Um, abominations are the ones that rule over the Yuan T and are like the leaders of the specific temple.
- 20:44SPEAKER_01: But then they have a high priest who is an abomination with a human head that rules over everybody.
- 20:53SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 20:54SPEAKER_01: Oh, so like abominations are basically like top class, but then you have the high priest that rules over them, and then everyone else below the abominations.
- 21:04SPEAKER_01: Okay, gotcha.
- 21:05SPEAKER_01: So there was some ecology that was given in this particular book that basically just said a cult of humans, like ages ago, worshipped a reptilian elder god.
- 21:18SPEAKER_01: They ended up receiving a blessing, in quotation marks, uh, from their Dark Lord.
- 21:25SPEAKER_01: And the blessing, which I feel like was more of a curse, was basically that all of their offspring were part snake after they received this blessing.
- 21:36SPEAKER_01: I mean, I don't see what's so bad about that.
- 21:39SPEAKER_01: Well, since then, the breeding line has become so polluted and mixed, which is what caused the three different types of Yuan T.
- 21:51SPEAKER_01: Because there wasn't like a specific formula for I guess what their offspring were gonna be part snake, so they just kind of were random and then like they would breed with other randoms and then that would cause more like random mutations mutations and I mean that seems like that seems like a horror show to me because like if you're just a human and suddenly you birth out a fucking baby that is part snake.
- 22:20SPEAKER_04: It would be very much uh King Minosa the Minotaur.
- 22:24SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 22:25SPEAKER_03: Well I mean I don't know.
- 22:26SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
- 22:28SPEAKER_03: Well and the the the the thing is is that I think you in in my opinion like it it it's probably s very much still viewed as a blessing to them.
- 22:38SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah probably but like you know but like maybe at the time it wasn't yeah and it's it's I think it's it's reflective like that's supposed to be reflective of what everybody else thinks.
- 22:52SPEAKER_04: True.
- 22:52SPEAKER_03: You know what I mean?
- 22:54SPEAKER_03: Which is why their highest tier is called like abominations.
- 22:59SPEAKER_03: You know I'm just saying I wouldn't be upset if I had a snake baby.
- 23:03SPEAKER_03: Well I would be upset and you know no I would be but not because of the snake part.
- 23:08SPEAKER_03: Because you had a baby?
- 23:09SPEAKER_03: Because I guess I would be like how did you get here?
- 23:12SPEAKER_01: What the fuck?
- 23:13SPEAKER_03: I didn't want you in the first place.
- 23:15SPEAKER_03: Your part snake that's kind of cool but anyway.
- 23:19SPEAKER_01: They are strictly carnivorous with a special taste for birds and human flesh.
- 23:26SPEAKER_03: Yeah that makes sense.
- 23:27SPEAKER_03: Well the birds caught me off guard.
- 23:29SPEAKER_03: Well the the carnivorous part makes sense.
- 23:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah um they are however like intelligent enough to never overhunt in whatever area they're in.
- 23:41SPEAKER_01: Smart.
- 23:41SPEAKER_01: Oh and they will also like keep it said warm blooded animals as like herds for food and livestock so like they're they're farmers they're just evil they're just evil that's fine I mean you know what I I appreciate I appreciate what I what I see as like accurately like lawful evil interpretations.
- 24:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah I don't know if they're considered lawful evil later but the as far as I'm aware they are always considered chaotic evil.
- 24:20SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 24:21SPEAKER_03: No well anyway at least they at least they care about the environment kinda I mean they don't care about the environment they care about not starving to death.
- 24:31SPEAKER_03: You know what?
- 24:32SPEAKER_03: That's smart of them.
- 24:33SPEAKER_04: Hey you know what that's better than some people in terms of like our modern world they know and care more about the environment than some humans do.
- 24:42SPEAKER_03: So you know good on them.
- 24:43SPEAKER_01: Fair so now we get to jump to the ecology which comes out of Dragon magazine issue 151 from 1989.
- 24:55SPEAKER_01: Now this particular ecology of was not written as like a story story or if it was the formatting of it was not very good very like great to show that but it starts off with an entry that was taken from the memoirs of Hirokito Toshuba who was a samurai of the Imperial staff.
- 25:24SPEAKER_01: Cool which was an account of him running into a half breed.
- 25:31SPEAKER_01: Okay says it rose out of the muck before me in the manner of a huge snake readying its strike.
- 25:38SPEAKER_01: Six or seven feet long it had the lower body and head of a serpent green scales wet and glittering in the dim sunlight a muddied yellow belly and red eyes that stared with malevolence.
- 25:50SPEAKER_01: But what choked me with revulsion was the human torso and arms between the snake head and tail.
- 25:56SPEAKER_01: My courage wavered.
- 25:57SPEAKER_01: Then I saw that wrapped tightly around the thing's waist was a belt from which hung the Daisho, the katana and wakasashi, and mockery of the status of the samurai.
- 26:09SPEAKER_01: The sight of such a disgrace ripped me from my trance I drew my grandfather's katana from my hip with a shout.
- 26:15SPEAKER_01: Not even devils themselves could have stopped me then, if I would not allow the rank of samurai to be worn by such as this Damn.
- 26:23SPEAKER_03: Nice.
- 26:24SPEAKER_03: But also like actual Yuan T samurai that'd be pretty cool.
- 26:29SPEAKER_01: Now I don't know if he um survived or not well I guess survived long after that fight because clearly he survived long enough to write it.
- 26:38SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 26:39SPEAKER_01: But it kind of doesn't mention him after that so I don't know if he got badly wounded and still killed it and like wrote his memoirs when he was dying or what?
- 26:51SPEAKER_01: He's probably I'm just going to assume that he survived everything.
- 26:54SPEAKER_03: Yeah he'd probably just like turn that uh you know turn that account over to like the Monster Hunter skill or something.
- 27:02SPEAKER_03: Is that what they're called?
- 27:04SPEAKER_01: Uh yes shit I don't remember now.
- 27:08SPEAKER_03: The the uh the Drill the other people from all the other ecology articles.
- 27:12SPEAKER_03: Yeah but he just like turned this account into them and then like retired with all of his like Ronin palaces and stuff.
- 27:18SPEAKER_01: You know after seeing something like Riches I would probably retire too.
- 27:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 27:22SPEAKER_03: Like you know what I've seen it I'm done.
- 27:25SPEAKER_03: I would retire with it.
- 27:27SPEAKER_03: I would be like hey do you want to get married?
- 27:29SPEAKER_04: I don't and then retire together they would be okay with that because you're a person remember they revile humans.
- 27:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah they absolutely would not be okay with that they hate humans.
- 27:39SPEAKER_04: I mean for reasons that will soon become evident okay well you tried I'll try and I tried you sh you you you definitely made your shot always I always shoot my shot with I can't say it very well with Sneeple and snake people for those of you who are uncultured and we're gonna take our break after that we're gonna take a break before we figure out why precisely they hate humans so much.
- 28:11SPEAKER_03: Yes and you know what I'm gonna make a guess it's justified humans are awful humans are awful at least in the world of DD.

- 32:38SPEAKER_03: Yeah don't worry about that one uh thank you to Alexander Nacarda for our theme song Blacksmith it is not a spoiler though that will be at the end of the episode and the beginning and the beginning because it always is because it's a really good song.
- 32:51SPEAKER_04: Yeah and with that get back to the podcast.
- 32:53SPEAKER_04: Yes back to the Sneeple Alright what probably just reason do they hate humans for?
- 33:01SPEAKER_01: Uh well let's see first of all uh we'll get there but this article you did get clickbaited the article actually says that the UNT can be used in like occidental campaigns but that they tend to fit better with the oriental settings.
- 33:19SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah hence the like samurai and yeah whatnot that was just a little like footnote basically that it mentioned also while we're while we're on the topic w while I was thinking about like you know when when uh like a DD race has an association with like a real life animal you know I like to think about all the variations of like characters you could have based on different types.
- 33:46SPEAKER_03: And since we're mentioning like them being in like an Eastern setting I'm just imagining a Yuan T that's one of those really fat Japanese adders like I need that in real life.
- 33:58SPEAKER_03: Like a like a um I forget there's like a there's like a Japanese demon that's an adder who's like an alcoholic and anyway but I just want a Yuan T that's one of those really fat Japanese adders carrying on.
- 34:11SPEAKER_01: That would be uh pretty cool so when mankind first took its step into the world there came a monstrous corruption known as okay I'm glad they actually gave me a pronunciation for this because there's no fucking way in hell I would have been able to press it prior.
- 34:30SPEAKER_03: Yeah but you still have to inhale and like prepare yourself.
- 34:33SPEAKER_01: Shick Therok Past snake name snake change yep change he was once a god and now he is just a shadow of his former self he was driven to both ultimate power and ultimate madness in an insane attempt to become one with the abyssal plane that he ruled over great so um I have more about him at the end of this just because they gave m like more detail of his exact issues.
- 35:16SPEAKER_03: Yeah uh what was his name again Travis uh Shake Tharok Past.
- 35:20SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 35:22SPEAKER_02: Cool Shake Hydro Stupid So it took me a minute not sponsored not sponsored by the way Shake Hydro Shake I'm gonna call him Shake okay okay like the see I could I didn't even get until just now so oh it's okay I hate myself Shick anyway we'll talk about Shake later.
- 35:47SPEAKER_01: As with all human races in pretty much any setting ever there were evil men that were hungry for power and dominion over others.
- 35:59SPEAKER_01: What no way that could never happen and uh they turned to worshiping this dark force.
- 36:08SPEAKER_03: Even though he wasn't even a god anymore.
- 36:11SPEAKER_03: He was a god at this point.
- 36:13SPEAKER_01: Oh okay okay okay gotcha he was a god during the beginning stages of all this gotcha um while worshiping him these men were instructed to gain the venom of the Ophidian which Ophidian are basically just like snakemen that have human like arms and hands but the rest of them is just a snake.
- 36:33SPEAKER_01: Hmm and they existed prior to the Yuan T.
- 36:38SPEAKER_01: Isn't that the um uh the other zodiac what yeah the 13th zodiac sign oh ophicus is his name I was I didn't Oh he's a s okay I think that is the probably the inspiration yeah because he's he's portrayed with a snake so that might be the inspiration probably anyway that's not a real zodiac sign I'm still a cancer moving on so they were instructed to gather the venom of the Ophidian which their venom has a lycanthrope like affliction where after eight to sixteen days of like being bit by an offidian it will turn a creature into an offidian if it was human or humanoid.
- 37:23SPEAKER_01: Where snake wearsnake where snake or kill it otherwisenake where snake where snake and it's not a were snake because they can't transform back and forth.
- 37:31SPEAKER_01: They just get turned into hence why it's a lycanthrope like not just a lycanthrope affliction but also were snake uh the venom when distilled and mixed with other ingredients and then consecrated to their deity became what is known as the black broth.
- 37:52SPEAKER_01: And there is an actual list of the ingredients and the steps in which to prepare the black broth that I will get to at the end of all this as well.
- 38:01SPEAKER_04: Well I know what I'm making tonight.
- 38:04SPEAKER_01: So the first worshipers that uh mixed and drank the black broth transformed into what is called the histachi which are basically just like the progenitors of the Yuan T race.
- 38:17SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 38:18SPEAKER_01: So um histachi were ugly as hell basically yeah it's mean but it's true because they are hairless uh their bodies became emaciated and it was mostly just like skin and bones with like the skin like wrapped tight against and they're also like bones.
- 38:46SPEAKER_01: They have tough grey or yellow skin that is also scaly and they smell of rotting meat.
- 38:54SPEAKER_01: Delicious their eyes are bloodshot with forked tongues that continually dart in and out of their mouths dull yellow teeth that are like tiny little hooks and also razor sharp and their fingernails are like these long black and twisted like claws that kind of resemble claws of a lizard.
- 39:15SPEAKER_03: And there's something wrong with their butts.
- 39:18SPEAKER_03: They got a little tail.
- 39:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah there's a lot wrong with them.
- 39:21SPEAKER_01: They're ugly as hell.
- 39:22SPEAKER_03: See that I feel like the like nagas and some of the maybe interpretations of like half-breed Yuanties are kind of like the good attractive interpretation of a snake human hybrid.
- 39:34SPEAKER_03: And this is like the bad like if you took the worst qualities of both and put it together into something that's just butt ugly.
- 39:42SPEAKER_03: You were like they're kind of you're like they're ugly and I'm like surely they're not that bad when I Google they're pretty bad.
- 39:48SPEAKER_03: Pretty bad.
- 39:48SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 39:50SPEAKER_01: Um any mating between the three types creates only abominations.
- 39:56SPEAKER_01: Hmm so in order to maintain their full like bloodline here's basically how it works.
- 40:05SPEAKER_01: Pure blood yuanti are created in matings of Histachi with other histachi and the mating of histachi with any true Yuanti produces half breeds I feel bad for the Yuanti that has to fuck one of those things.
- 40:24SPEAKER_03: Yeah me too see I was like you said mating and I got excited not that kind of excited um but then I realized that those guys were part of the process and now I'm just like grossed out.
- 40:36SPEAKER_01: And so uh we are they intelligent?
- 40:39SPEAKER_01: The histachi?
- 40:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah no oh no nothing they're kind of just like gibbering drooling messes that are like basically considered guards because they guard the so it's like breeding it's like straight breeding it is straight breeding yeah it's not even like enforced they're like creepy population control.
- 41:01SPEAKER_03: It really is just like straight breeding used as breeding and warm bodies more or less I guess they're not warm bodies but you know that's so gross.
- 41:14SPEAKER_01: I hate that so with this being the case thewante to have a constant supply of humans in order to sustain their race because they would turn humans into histachi from the black broth right and histachi are needed to create the other two types of Yuan T.
- 41:34SPEAKER_03: I'm not gonna like where this is going.
- 41:35SPEAKER_03: Yeah no I was gonna say I think I know where this is going and I don't wake up.
- 41:39SPEAKER_01: So they have a gestation period of about sixty months.
- 41:44SPEAKER_03: 60?
- 41:45SPEAKER_01: Yes 6-0.
- 41:47SPEAKER_01: Gotcha where 30% of the resulting creatures are so deformed that they die shortly after birth.
- 41:55SPEAKER_01: Lovely which gives them a very low growth rate.
- 41:59SPEAKER_01: Okay but this is offset by their extremely long lifespans.
- 42:04SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 42:05SPEAKER_03: Alright so they're not not necessarily a lot of them being born but there's also not necessarily a lot of them dying.
- 42:10SPEAKER_01: Pretty much uh pure bloods can live up to 2,000 years.
- 42:14SPEAKER_01: Oh half breeds up to 4,000 and abominations up to 6,000 years.
- 42:21SPEAKER_01: That's a very long time.
- 42:22SPEAKER_03: That is a very very long time I was expecting a few hundred no for each of those like you said two and I was like okay two hundred.
- 42:30SPEAKER_03: No attack another zero on there.
- 42:32SPEAKER_01: Two four and six thousand years.
- 42:35SPEAKER_01: No thank you.
- 42:36SPEAKER_03: Yeah you know so now s now a sixty month gestation does not sound unreasonable.
- 42:42SPEAKER_03: In fact I think it should be longer.
- 42:44SPEAKER_03: Just leave them cooking in there for longer.
- 42:47SPEAKER_03: We don't need more of these things.
- 42:48SPEAKER_01: The reason that they pretty much hate humans well completely hate humans is basically what follows here.
- 42:56SPEAKER_01: They once held a great empire that spanned much of the southern jungles of Karatur which I didn't look into but I'm assuming is a place somewhere in like the Oriental Adventures campaign series.
- 43:11SPEAKER_01: Probably it sounds I've seen it before I've seen that name before they do have a monstrous compendium of the Karatur Karatur however it's pronounced Carrot Carrot I've I've seen that before.
- 43:27SPEAKER_01: They held this empire before the fall of Shikfaric Pest That guy Shikhtharic Pest whatever because when he was doing all of his scheming to become one with his abyssal realm he was reduced to the operational level of a major demon which basically meant that all of his clerics who were humans because it specified Yuan T cannot be any class found themselves without spell abilities And were now unable to make the black broth.
- 44:03SPEAKER_01: Uh oh, spaghetti.
- 44:05SPEAKER_06: Mistakes were made.
- 44:06SPEAKER_01: Uh-oh.
- 44:07SPEAKER_01: So um they lost the ability to create their black broth and the ability to basically reproduce anything other than abominations.
- 44:18SPEAKER_01: Once their hisachu that they had would die.
- 44:22SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 44:23SPEAKER_01: So naturally, when people found out about this, they took advantage of it and destroyed their entire empire.
- 44:32SPEAKER_01: Almost to the point of total extinction of the Yuan T race.
- 44:35SPEAKER_01: A few of them managed to escape and survive.
- 44:39SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 44:40SPEAKER_01: But that's why they hate the humans because they destroyed their empire and damn near their entire race.
- 44:46SPEAKER_03: I mean, but also they were probably like stealing people.
- 44:50SPEAKER_03: Oh no, they definitely were.
- 44:51SPEAKER_03: Yeah, they so like it's not you know, like I guess it is like the I get why they would be mad about it.
- 44:58SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 44:58SPEAKER_03: But also, like, it was bad.
- 45:01SPEAKER_03: It was just all bad.
- 45:03SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 45:03SPEAKER_03: It was just like all bad.
- 45:06SPEAKER_03: ESH, everyone sucks here.
- 45:08SPEAKER_01: So the few that did remain, they turned to various other, like, evil beings from the abyss, trying to find any sort of power that could successfully like offer the power they needed to create the black broth, but none of them could.
- 45:24SPEAKER_01: No matter what deity or entity they turned to, their power was not enough to create this black broth.
- 45:32SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 45:33SPEAKER_01: So they were kind of just stuck with abominations if that's what they wanted, but they kept basically population control over abominations.
- 45:46SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 45:47SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and like that makes that makes sense for kind of how how they felt about it, because it's like, you know, you can't have a ladder that's all upper rungs.
- 45:58SPEAKER_03: Like you need the lower.
- 46:00SPEAKER_03: In in their in their minds.
- 46:02SPEAKER_03: I'm not saying that this is an ideology I agree with, but you know, like they need the half-breeds to do this and this and this, and they need, you know, the pure bloods.
- 46:11SPEAKER_01: They did need it because their whole goal was basically world domination at some point.
- 46:16SPEAKER_01: So they needed different people to do different things.
- 46:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they needed the intelligence levels and the like stealth levels of the purebloods to go into human societies and whatnot.
- 46:27SPEAKER_01: So they had to find a way to reproduce these, otherwise, they were screwed.
- 46:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 46:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 46:33SPEAKER_01: And eventually they did discover what basically was their salvation.
- 46:37SPEAKER_01: Oh boy.
- 46:38SPEAKER_01: There's a specific time when the stars and planets are in a specific alignment that allows the conjunction of Shikherapast's plane with the primaterial plane.
- 46:50SPEAKER_01: Very briefly, this allows them to conjure up enough power needed to consecrate the mixture to create the black broth.
- 46:58SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 46:59SPEAKER_01: The downside of this is this specific alignment only happens once a millennium.
- 47:06SPEAKER_01: So I'm seeing the issue here.
- 47:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 47:09SPEAKER_01: They found a way to do it.
- 47:11SPEAKER_01: It's just now it's every like thousand years that they're able to reproduce.
- 47:17SPEAKER_01: Which thankfully for them, you know, they live at least 2,000 years.
- 47:21SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 47:22SPEAKER_01: But it's still bad.
- 47:24SPEAKER_04: For them.
- 47:25SPEAKER_01: For them.
- 47:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 47:27SPEAKER_01: Um they're it kind of like jumped for a second to just describe like their temples and everything, which were usually like huge basalt edifices that had no windows and only one entrance.
- 47:42SPEAKER_01: The walls were usually carved with revolting scenes involving Yuanti humans and unspeakable creatures from the outer plains.
- 47:51SPEAKER_03: And so they were probably awesome.
- 47:54SPEAKER_03: Just saying.
- 47:55SPEAKER_01: No, I mean possibly.
- 47:57SPEAKER_01: One of their favorite pastimes was the torture of helpless subjects.
- 48:02SPEAKER_03: Oh, that's not awesome.
- 48:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 48:05SPEAKER_01: Man.
- 48:06SPEAKER_01: Um, they also would sometimes enslave humans rather than just transforming them, but when they did, the slaves would usually be crippled or maimed.
- 48:18SPEAKER_04: Oh my god.
- 48:19SPEAKER_01: So they couldn't get away or fight back.
- 48:23SPEAKER_03: Well then what do you You don't want to know what they keep them for?
- 48:28SPEAKER_03: Yeah, no, see, I said that.
- 48:30SPEAKER_03: And then I thought about it some more.
- 48:32SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 48:33SPEAKER_03: Man, why does Sneeple gotta be evil?
- 48:37SPEAKER_01: And uh they only have one holiday, which is called the Knight of Venom, which I'm assuming you can imagine what that is.
- 48:46SPEAKER_01: It's when they go to the movies.
- 48:48SPEAKER_03: And I watched the 2018 film what no.
- 48:51SPEAKER_01: Uh no, that is the one time every 1,000 years that they can create the black broth.
- 48:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I guess.
- 48:58SPEAKER_01: Oh, okay.
- 48:59SPEAKER_01: And about a year before the night, uh, the Auntie will start creating as much black broth as possible while also raiding settlements to kidnap victims for the rights to transform them into histachi.
- 49:18SPEAKER_03: Okay, so it's like they can make it outside of that period, but it can only be consecrated in that period.
- 49:25SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 49:26SPEAKER_03: So it's like they can make the like base structure of it, let's say, but basically it has to be like almost enchanted or purified.
- 49:35SPEAKER_03: It has to be consecrated from the powers of what's his nuts.
- 49:40SPEAKER_03: Shit.
- 49:41SPEAKER_03: Uh the shit guy.
- 49:42SPEAKER_03: The shit guy.
- 49:44SPEAKER_01: To transform them into the histachi, which is another reason why no other deity or entity could help them, because if they consecrated it under them, it wasn't transforming them into snake people.
- 49:58SPEAKER_03: It could make them into something else.
- 50:00SPEAKER_01: It would usually just kill them.
- 50:02SPEAKER_03: Oh, oh yeah, that's true.
- 50:03SPEAKER_03: That's true.
- 50:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like the black both would be deadly to anyone, and then if it's consecrated under somebody else, say uh Shik Therapast, then they can transform.
- 50:17SPEAKER_01: Gotcha.
- 50:18SPEAKER_01: Alright, alright.
- 50:19SPEAKER_01: And anywhere between 20 to 200 Histachi are created by a single group of Yuan T on the Knight of Venom.
- 50:28SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 50:29SPEAKER_03: Depending on like the size of the group and it could be more, but it isn't just like 200 every thousands.
- 50:36SPEAKER_03: Just yeah, it could be it could be variable because there's it's not like it's a centralized.
- 50:41SPEAKER_03: It doesn't sound like it's like a centralized, it sounds like there's pockets of Yuan T communities.
- 50:45SPEAKER_01: Yes, they don't have a single like empire anymore.
- 50:49SPEAKER_01: They're just kind of pocketed randomly throughout.
- 50:53SPEAKER_01: I do love this because it gave like the duties of the ruling abominations, which consists of settling disputes, overseeing the protection of the community, and regulating the activities of the purebloods in the human world.
- 51:11SPEAKER_01: It was just kind of cool, I guess, to me.
- 51:14SPEAKER_01: I don't know, that they decided to list out the duties of the ruling abomination.
- 51:19SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 51:20SPEAKER_01: Like to me, you hear abomination, you think like mindless, shambling pile of meat, basically.
- 51:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 51:27SPEAKER_01: But abominations are still incredibly intelligent in this particular race.
- 51:34SPEAKER_03: And they also like do things.
- 51:36SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 51:37SPEAKER_03: They're not just, you know, it's not just like a figurehead, or they're not just at the top because it's like well, I mean, they are just at the top because they think they're better than everybody else, but they actually do something.
- 51:47SPEAKER_03: It's not just sneaky.
- 51:48SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's not just like, oh, I'm the king, I can do whatever I want, I'm just gonna fuck around.
- 51:52SPEAKER_03: Yeah, you know, they actually do things.
- 51:54SPEAKER_01: Now, in order for them to not reduce their numbers any further, physical combat between like themselves is very rare.
- 52:05SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 52:06SPEAKER_01: So, in order to settle many of the disputes, they do weaponless combat that can easily be stopped just shortly before fatality.
- 52:17SPEAKER_03: So they still let you beat the fuck out of somebody else within an inch of death, but then they stop you.
- 52:22SPEAKER_01: But then they'll stop you and be like, okay, you win.
- 52:25SPEAKER_01: Now we have to heal this motherfucker.
- 52:27SPEAKER_04: Because we got too few people.
- 52:30SPEAKER_03: Oh man.
- 52:31SPEAKER_03: See, okay, I was really hoping that there were gonna be like it was gonna be like a non-combat thing, and there were gonna be like snake lawyers.
- 52:38SPEAKER_03: Oh my god.
- 52:38SPEAKER_01: Snake lawyers.
- 52:39SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 52:41SPEAKER_01: I like the idea of snake lawyers now.
- 52:43SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 52:44SPEAKER_01: It's just in their little suits.
- 52:47SPEAKER_01: Affidians are found like 70% of the time in any Yuan T community.
- 52:54SPEAKER_01: And Affidians are mostly just slaves.
- 52:58SPEAKER_05: Oh.
- 52:59SPEAKER_01: Used for their venom to make the black broth, and that's pretty much it.
- 53:05SPEAKER_01: Man.
- 53:05SPEAKER_01: I say pretty much because there are some Yuan T that will use the Athinea uh wow.
- 53:10SPEAKER_01: The Affidian venom in traps.
- 53:14SPEAKER_04: Oh, okay.
- 53:15SPEAKER_04: Nothing exciting, don't worry.
- 53:17SPEAKER_04: They're not treated well.
- 53:18SPEAKER_04: No.
- 53:18SPEAKER_03: No, I man.
- 53:20SPEAKER_03: I keep like looking for a glimmer.
- 53:22SPEAKER_03: Also, for some reason that time, I thought you were gonna say like drugs.
- 53:26SPEAKER_03: Like they inject it in themselves and get high.
- 53:28SPEAKER_03: I don't know why that's where my mind went.
- 53:32SPEAKER_03: My mind also went to like a love story between like a Yuanti and an Affidian.
- 53:37SPEAKER_04: The mindless part kind of ruins it.
- 53:40SPEAKER_04: Are the Aphidians?
- 53:41SPEAKER_03: I thought it was the Histachi.
- 53:42SPEAKER_03: The Histachi or mostly mindless.
- 53:46SPEAKER_03: No, like uh just like a, you know.
- 53:49SPEAKER_03: A forbidden love story?
- 53:50SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 53:51SPEAKER_03: Yeah, a forbidden love story with a strong anti-establishment uh theme.
- 54:01SPEAKER_01: Terribly intelligent, but not like you not like Right.
- 54:05SPEAKER_04: I'm just really bad at remembering stuff sometimes.
- 54:08SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 54:09SPEAKER_03: I mean, to be fair, it's those damn fantasy names.
- 54:11SPEAKER_03: But I did look it up.
- 54:12SPEAKER_03: Aphidian is actually not just um Ophicus.
- 54:17SPEAKER_03: Apparently it's like the genus of the progenitor of the modern snake.
- 54:22SPEAKER_04: Oh that's pretty cool.
- 54:24SPEAKER_03: Before anyone wants to tell me that, I I Googled it, I know.
- 54:28SPEAKER_04: I mean, and I mean no offense, and there people could probably prove me wrong.
- 54:32SPEAKER_04: And I'm only saying this because of how well I know you.
- 54:35SPEAKER_04: You might be one of the few people who actually is that passionate to look it up.
- 54:39SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that's true.
- 54:41SPEAKER_04: I love snakes.
- 54:42SPEAKER_03: I know.
- 54:43SPEAKER_03: Also, the word did sound familiar, and not just because of the the zodiac.
- 54:49SPEAKER_03: Ophiakus, whatever his name is.
- 54:53SPEAKER_01: The snake guy.
- 54:54SPEAKER_01: So uh speaking of the snake guy, that brings us to uh Shik Thekests.
- 55:02SPEAKER_03: I feel like you've I feel like you've pronounced that a different way every time.
- 55:06SPEAKER_03: I'm pretty sure I do.
- 55:07SPEAKER_03: Like I support you, but and I wouldn't be doing any better, but it's important to note.
- 55:14SPEAKER_01: So he was once a lesser demon that ruled the 111th plane of the Abyss.
- 55:21SPEAKER_01: Nice.
- 55:22SPEAKER_04: Nice.
- 55:23SPEAKER_01: Um he wasn't satisfied with only being a god.
- 55:27SPEAKER_01: As demons would be.
- 55:28SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 55:29SPEAKER_01: Even though, like, you know, he became a god because he created this Yuan T race.
- 55:36SPEAKER_03: He became a lesser god.
- 55:38SPEAKER_03: Yeah, a point there.
- 55:39SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and like he's a demon.
- 55:40SPEAKER_03: We've discussed demons' issues with everything, but particularly ambition.
- 55:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 55:46SPEAKER_01: So he devised a plan to gain ultimate power.
- 55:51SPEAKER_01: He wanted to literally merge his life essence with the plane that he ruled and become, in effect, a living dimension.
- 56:01SPEAKER_01: Why?
- 56:02SPEAKER_01: Because he's fucking insane.
- 56:04SPEAKER_03: I mean, that's fair.
- 56:05SPEAKER_01: He wasn't insane.
- 56:08SPEAKER_01: He is now.
- 56:09SPEAKER_03: Oh, okay, alright.
- 56:10SPEAKER_01: Because his plan destroyed him by giving him what he wanted.
- 56:15SPEAKER_01: I mean, he actually successfully merged with the plane of the abyss.
- 56:20SPEAKER_01: But in the process, all but a very minute portion of his psyche went insane.
- 56:26SPEAKER_03: Wow.
- 56:27SPEAKER_03: I think we're gonna have a heart attack.
- 56:29SPEAKER_03: I'm not surprised.
- 56:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 56:31SPEAKER_03: Why like I just don't like I just don't there's a missing link somewhere for me that's like ultimate power, turn myself into a dimension.
- 56:41SPEAKER_03: There's like a missing step somewhere in there that I just don't I just don't get.
- 56:45SPEAKER_01: There's no clue.
- 56:47SPEAKER_03: He was like insane before.
- 56:49SPEAKER_03: He was just a stable, functional kind of insanity.
- 56:52SPEAKER_01: But now he's more or less like just an unstable insanity.
- 56:56SPEAKER_03: Yeah, like it's like cool.
- 56:57SPEAKER_03: Now there's like people can walk on you, technically.
- 57:02SPEAKER_03: You know, your your body and your mind is like part of a landscape.
- 57:05SPEAKER_03: Why did you want that?
- 57:06SPEAKER_01: Well, there is a little bit more that he can do.
- 57:10SPEAKER_01: Basically, he uses what little of his mind that he has left to form his physical manifestation, which I didn't write it all down, but if I remember correctly, pretty much said that he blinks in and out of realities randomly and almost out of his control.
- 57:31SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 57:32SPEAKER_01: Almost out of his control.
- 57:34SPEAKER_01: Like he could be there for like one round and then suddenly he'll blink out and be somewhere else.
- 57:39SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 57:39SPEAKER_01: In like a different realm or reality or dimension or what have you.
- 57:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 57:47SPEAKER_01: His manifestation is a 60-foot-long winged ebony serpent.
- 57:55SPEAKER_01: Which was happy.
- 57:56SPEAKER_01: Also, really fucking cool.
- 57:57SPEAKER_01: That sounds so awesome.
- 57:59SPEAKER_01: And his home plane is now known as the mind of evil.
- 58:04SPEAKER_01: Ooh.
- 58:05SPEAKER_01: And the only activity there is a chaotic whirling of an intelligent, insane plane because it is him.
- 58:13SPEAKER_01: Anyone that like gets transported there is under his complete and total mercy, and he can do whatever he wants to that realm.
- 58:23SPEAKER_01: He can create and destroy anything he wants because he is the realm.
- 58:28SPEAKER_01: And it said their odds of success are minimal at best.
- 58:33SPEAKER_01: Because he will kill you.
- 58:35SPEAKER_03: I mean, okay, that's like, okay, I was I was talking shit earlier, but now I'm still gonna talk shit.
- 58:42SPEAKER_03: Like, that's still stupid.
- 58:43SPEAKER_03: Oh, he's also immortal now?
- 58:45SPEAKER_03: I mean, okay, yeah.
- 58:46SPEAKER_03: That that's that that's that makes it make a little more sense.
- 58:50SPEAKER_01: Because in order to kill him, you would have to destroy the entire 111th plane of the abyss.
- 58:59SPEAKER_04: Which, as we can recall from uh one of my demon episodes, um that's more complicated than well the the abyss doesn't well the abyss doesn't like it when you do that.
- 59:13SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, like the the abyss itself is reactive.
- 59:16SPEAKER_03: It's not just like this is just a pocket dimension where somebody happens to live and rule over it.
- 59:21SPEAKER_03: Like the abyss itself is kind of alive and reactive.
- 59:24SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 59:25SPEAKER_03: And that's not nearly as simple as just killing someone.
- 59:27SPEAKER_01: And now it's in this particular plane, it's even more like intelligent and reactive because it's just alive with this person, this person, this demon that was once a god.
- 59:42SPEAKER_01: It's just it it it's insane.
- 59:44SPEAKER_01: It is basically.
- 59:45SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 59:46SPEAKER_03: I mean, literally.
- 59:47SPEAKER_03: Literally, also insane, but like insane also.
- 59:51SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 59:51SPEAKER_01: Alright, so the last little bit that we will get to is the black broth and the procedure in which they create it.
- 59:59SPEAKER_04: Oh.
- 1:00:04SPEAKER_01: So it is time for cooking with truss.
- 1:00:07SPEAKER_01: Black broth edition.
- 1:00:08SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 1:00:09SPEAKER_01: So the ingredients you will need are the venom of an aphidian.
- 1:00:13SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 1:00:14SPEAKER_01: The eggs of an Amphis Baina?
- 1:00:18SPEAKER_03: Amphispa Oh, um Amphisbaina?
- 1:00:21SPEAKER_03: Amphisb uh Amphisbaimas are um a wyvern's a type of wyvern, I think.
- 1:00:28SPEAKER_03: Are they?
- 1:00:28SPEAKER_03: Uh probably.
- 1:00:31SPEAKER_03: Uh oh no, uh, it's a two-headed snake person.
- 1:00:36SPEAKER_03: Not person.
- 1:00:38SPEAKER_03: They might be people.
- 1:00:38SPEAKER_03: I don't know how intelligent they are.
- 1:00:40SPEAKER_03: Oops.
- 1:00:41SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's a two-headed snake.
- 1:00:43SPEAKER_01: Uh their intelligence is six.
- 1:00:44SPEAKER_01: So not terribly intelligent, but yes, they are two-headed snake creatures, basically.
- 1:00:51SPEAKER_01: And I'm still not sure how to pronounce that, but you need one of their eggs.
- 1:00:56SPEAKER_01: Where does it come from?
- 1:00:58SPEAKER_01: That's a good question.
- 1:01:00SPEAKER_01: Because it's not like two-headed in the sense of like two heads on one end.
- 1:01:04SPEAKER_03: It's like it's like a cat dog.
- 1:01:06SPEAKER_03: But it's a snake snake.
- 1:01:08SPEAKER_03: Snake snake.
- 1:01:09SPEAKER_03: Maybe they just have like that little uh's having a moment.
- 1:01:15SPEAKER_01: I'm I'm just but you need 12 drops of Yuan T blood, 12 drops of human blood, petals and seeds of a withered sunflower, the eyes of 100 normal dragonflies.
- 1:01:31SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 1:01:31SPEAKER_01: Powdered bloodstone.
- 1:01:33SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 1:01:33SPEAKER_01: Uh, not less than 250 gold worth of it, though.
- 1:01:37SPEAKER_01: So you need to make sure you have at least 250 gold worth of powdered bloodstone.
- 1:01:41SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 1:01:42SPEAKER_01: A potion of human control, and a quantity of peat and human hair.
- 1:01:48SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 1:01:49SPEAKER_01: So that's what you need for this.
- 1:01:51SPEAKER_03: I feel like the the dragonfly eyes are probably the hardest thing to get, but uh I would say you're probably right.
- 1:01:58SPEAKER_03: Everything else, I mean You would you would have access to if you were a Yuan T trying to do this.
- 1:02:04SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:02:05SPEAKER_04: If you can't if you can't make it yourself, store bot is fine.
- 1:02:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:02:09SPEAKER_01: Also, if you're buying 100 dragonfly eyes from someone, you should probably question why they're selling them.
- 1:02:16SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:02:17SPEAKER_03: Oh well, I don't know.
- 1:02:17SPEAKER_03: The store bot usually skimps on the bloodstone, so be careful.
- 1:02:22SPEAKER_01: So uh the procedure in which to make this is first, you need a fire pit that is dug and fill it with the peat.
- 1:02:30SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 1:02:31SPEAKER_01: The human hair you then wrap around a stick, light it, and lay it on the peat.
- 1:02:37SPEAKER_05: Mm-hmm.
- 1:02:38SPEAKER_01: A sticks to snake's spell is then cast to turn the stick into a snake.
- 1:02:43SPEAKER_01: While it's on fire.
- 1:02:44SPEAKER_01: Which should then writhe while burning through the peat and sets the peat on fire.
- 1:02:51SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 1:02:52SPEAKER_01: And then over this fire that has been created by the snake, the Aphidian venom needs to be distilled into a syrupy black liquid, while another container you can go ahead and set the distilled venom aside.
- 1:03:06SPEAKER_01: You need to line this container with the sunflower petals and seeds, which you then uh need to coat with the contents of the amphibane.
- 1:03:17SPEAKER_01: Amphisbana egg.
- 1:03:19SPEAKER_05: Mm-hmm.
- 1:03:20SPEAKER_01: Um in order to do this though, you need to crush the egg in your hand and lightly spread it over the petals and seeds.
- 1:03:28SPEAKER_01: Don't just throw it in there like willy-nilly, you just lightly gingerly spread it over.
- 1:03:33SPEAKER_01: Try to get a good even coating.
- 1:03:35SPEAKER_03: Uh-huh.
- 1:03:36SPEAKER_03: Hey, how good you were at this.
- 1:03:39SPEAKER_01: Uh, you then need to take the powdered gemstone, in this case the powdered bloodstone, and throw that into the mixture of the petals and seeds and egg nastiness.
- 1:03:51SPEAKER_01: Egg stuff.
- 1:03:52SPEAKER_01: Uh the dragonfly eggs you then add to the boiling venom.
- 1:03:56SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 1:03:57SPEAKER_01: So don't add the dragonfly eggs to the sunflower mixture, add those to the boiling venom.
- 1:04:03SPEAKER_01: That's very important.
- 1:04:04SPEAKER_01: If you do it wrong, it will kill you.
- 1:04:06SPEAKER_03: Oh, okay.
- 1:04:07SPEAKER_03: Yeah, if you want to avoid death.
- 1:04:10SPEAKER_03: Um as many do.
- 1:04:12SPEAKER_01: So after you uh mix the eyes in and make sure that they get nice and mixed into this lovely distilled syrup.
- 1:04:19SPEAKER_01: Lovely.
- 1:04:20SPEAKER_01: You then pour all of that substance, whatever you want to call it, into the other container with the sunflower and the egg and everything.
- 1:04:31SPEAKER_01: Um as soon as you do this, you need to add the blood drop by drop, and this is very important, alternating the types with each drop.
- 1:04:39SPEAKER_01: So you have to do human and then you want T and then human and then Yuan T.
- 1:04:44SPEAKER_01: Twelve drops.
- 1:04:45SPEAKER_01: Alternating back and forth.
- 1:04:46SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 1:04:47SPEAKER_01: And obviously you need someone who is proficient with magic because you have to cast a polymorph other spell onto the entire mixture as soon as you get the blood mixed in.
- 1:04:58SPEAKER_01: Finally, and this you might have to pay someone, you need a priest, preferably a high priest, to imbibe the potion of human control and perform the blessing, which will then consecrate the entire mixture, and your black broth is now complete.
- 1:05:16SPEAKER_03: So you don't put the you don't even put the um the potion of human control in the thing.
- 1:05:22SPEAKER_01: Nope.
- 1:05:22SPEAKER_01: Uh the priest has to drink that in order to consecrate the mixture to control the.
- 1:05:29SPEAKER_03: No, so does the polymorph other spell does that also include the poor snake that's probably burned to death by now?
- 1:05:36SPEAKER_03: Or uh is it just like the cauldron?
- 1:05:38SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 1:05:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you just cast that on the mixture.
- 1:05:42SPEAKER_01: You don't have to worry about the peat that's still on fire and whatnot.
- 1:05:45SPEAKER_03: From the poor snake that you brought into existence from a stick.
- 1:05:51SPEAKER_01: Listen, potion making can be immediately set on fire.
- 1:05:54SPEAKER_01: A little bit cruel sometimes.
- 1:05:56SPEAKER_03: Listen, no, I I only I only buy cruelty free potions.
- 1:06:01SPEAKER_03: Okay, listen, that's something I would say.
- 1:06:03SPEAKER_03: That was the thing.
- 1:06:05SPEAKER_01: So uh the bug broth is completed.
- 1:06:07SPEAKER_01: Now all you have to do is put it into little vials and serve it to your willing or in most cases unwilling subjects for them to imbibe and drink.
- 1:06:20SPEAKER_01: Now, if their fortitude is really high and they manage to resist it the first time, you're gonna have to cast a cure poison spell on them, otherwise they will die within like an hour.
- 1:06:30SPEAKER_01: So make sure to cast that and then have them drink it again.
- 1:06:34SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 1:06:35SPEAKER_01: And basically repeat until they accept the transformation.
- 1:06:40SPEAKER_03: Except it.
- 1:06:41SPEAKER_03: Except the snake.
- 1:06:51SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 1:06:51SPEAKER_03: I only buy cruelty-free potions that have been certified by Ida, elves for the ethical treatment of animals.
- 1:06:57SPEAKER_03: I'm kidding, PETA sucks, but the joke is there.
- 1:07:00SPEAKER_03: Jesus Christ.
- 1:07:02SPEAKER_03: Fuck PETA, but the joke was there.
- 1:07:04SPEAKER_01: Anyway.
- 1:07:05SPEAKER_01: Uh that is the end of Cooking with Travis.
- 1:07:10SPEAKER_04: It was horrifying, thank you.
- 1:07:12SPEAKER_03: Check out our next episode next week where we talk about the Dracolich brew.
- 1:07:17SPEAKER_03: We revisit the Draco Lich brew.
- 1:07:19SPEAKER_01: You now have the ability to create your very own black broth and create your own histachi.
- 1:07:27SPEAKER_01: However, you're gonna have to try to get a hold of Chick Therapest and see if you can like use his power, because without him, this isn't gonna work.
- 1:07:36SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 1:07:37SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:07:37SPEAKER_01: Just keep that in mind.
- 1:07:38SPEAKER_01: Without him, it's not gonna work.
- 1:07:40SPEAKER_03: So Okay.
- 1:07:41SPEAKER_03: Um yeah, I think um I have the human blood already.
- 1:07:46SPEAKER_03: I have a lot of it.
- 1:07:47SPEAKER_03: Um I'm pretty sure I know I know where I can get the the peat and everything.
- 1:07:53SPEAKER_03: Um I don't know about the Amphisbain eggs, though.
- 1:07:56SPEAKER_03: I don't think they're real.
- 1:07:57SPEAKER_01: Amphisbain eggs might be a little hard to come by, but dig around enough in the black market, you can probably find some.
- 1:08:02SPEAKER_03: I mean, I feel like I feel like they might have them at Whole Foods.
- 1:08:05SPEAKER_03: It's possible.
- 1:08:07SPEAKER_01: I haven't checked, but maybe.
- 1:08:10SPEAKER_03: Oh.
- 1:08:10SPEAKER_03: I'm so glad that now I know how to make this.
- 1:08:13SPEAKER_03: So I can make my own mindless, you know, grotesque looking snake person slave.
- 1:08:20SPEAKER_03: So I can make one of my subjects have sex with it, so they can have a person that's they're gonna have a baby that's half snake, half human.
- 1:08:27SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:08:28SPEAKER_03: I'm so glad I know this now.
- 1:08:29SPEAKER_03: Thanks.
- 1:08:30SPEAKER_01: And technically babies, because they are snakes and they do lay eggs.
- 1:08:34SPEAKER_03: Well, some snakes are viviparous, so in this case, they lay eggs.
- 1:08:40SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 1:08:40SPEAKER_01: I should specify.
- 1:08:42SPEAKER_01: They do lay eggs.
- 1:08:44SPEAKER_03: Man! I know there's a part two, and I know that in fifth edition, I think you can play as a Yuan T.
- 1:08:54SPEAKER_03: That's in the um Yes.
- 1:08:56SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:08:57SPEAKER_03: I want to say they're included in the um expanded, I forget what it's called, but it's the one that has Kenku in it.
- 1:09:03SPEAKER_01: Uh yes, you can play as purebloods.
- 1:09:06SPEAKER_03: Yeah, as uh as uh the expanded uh player race thing.
- 1:09:10SPEAKER_03: So like maybe there's some redemption there, but I'm so sad that the snake people are evil.
- 1:09:15SPEAKER_03: I'm sorry.
- 1:09:15SPEAKER_03: It's okay.
- 1:09:17SPEAKER_03: I'm not.
- 1:09:17SPEAKER_03: That was fun.
- 1:09:18SPEAKER_03: I mean, it's very interesting, but it's also like man.
- 1:09:22SPEAKER_03: Why they gotta be evil.
- 1:09:24SPEAKER_03: Yeah, like no no shade.
- 1:09:26SPEAKER_03: All all due respect, but like evil snake people, groundbreaking.
- 1:09:33SPEAKER_03: They're babies.
- 1:09:35SPEAKER_03: I love snakes.
- 1:09:36SPEAKER_03: I know.
- 1:09:37SPEAKER_03: Do they shed?
- 1:09:38SPEAKER_03: Probably.
- 1:09:39SPEAKER_01: You know, it didn't ever specify.
- 1:09:43SPEAKER_03: That feels like something that if it was gonna be in something, it would have been in the ecology article.
- 1:09:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but like But we don't know.
- 1:09:50SPEAKER_01: We just don't know.
- 1:09:51SPEAKER_01: At that point, I would have to rule absolutely because they're snakes.
- 1:09:56SPEAKER_04: The thought of seeing a huge, like, shedded Oh, and it has like little humany features in it.
- 1:10:04SPEAKER_04: Uh oh, that'd be awesome.
- 1:10:08SPEAKER_01: And uh with that, we will uh save the rest for the next episode.
- 1:10:14SPEAKER_01: Uh part two of the UNT.
- 1:10:16SPEAKER_04: Well, Travis, that's next episode.
- 1:10:18SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 1:10:18SPEAKER_01: My next episode.
- 1:10:19SPEAKER_04: You just like make one of us do it.
- 1:10:22SPEAKER_01: One of y'all get to take it.
- 1:10:23SPEAKER_04: I I still have I still have not demons, the next one.
- 1:10:27SPEAKER_04: Uh the Ugaloths.
- 1:10:29SPEAKER_01: The Ugaloths.
- 1:10:30SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah, I forgot that that's coming next.
- 1:10:33SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:10:33SPEAKER_03: Anyway.
- 1:10:34SPEAKER_01: Uh thank you everyone so much for listening.

- 1:11:02SPEAKER_01: You know, if uh they like cooking, go ahead and tell them about this, and I'm sure they would enjoy it.
- 1:11:07SPEAKER_03: No, definitely.
- 1:11:08SPEAKER_03: Maybe you should cook up some black broth and have them try it first.
- 1:11:11SPEAKER_03: Oh no.
- 1:11:12SPEAKER_04: Don't actually no turn your friends into mindless slaves, okay?
- 1:11:16SPEAKER_01: I was gonna say do that to somebody you don't like, actually.
- 1:11:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I wouldn't do that to your friends.
- 1:11:21SPEAKER_04: Uh with all that, thank you guys once more for listening.
- 1:11:25SPEAKER_04: We're gonna catch you next week here on Dungeon Pedia.

- 1:11:38SPEAKER_03: Okay, we'll find me a good Sneeple next time.
- 1:11:41SPEAKER_03: Maybe not.
