- 0:09Speaker 1: I feel like we haven't been talking football because Taylor
- 0:12Speaker 1: and Mikeya are so excited for baseball and they just
- 0:14Speaker 1: can't wait for baseball, and they want to talk about
- 0:16Speaker 1: CC Sabathia and whether or not his jersey should be
- 0:19Speaker 1: retired at Yankee Stadium, and I'm getting.
- 0:21Speaker 2: Tired of baseball. I want to talk to football. How
- 0:23Speaker 2: do you feel about that? Is we?
- 0:26Speaker 3: I am always on board with somebody moving on from baseball.
- 0:31Speaker 4: Even if it's the football.
- 0:32Speaker 3: I have at all no offense to him, but I
- 0:36Speaker 3: like football. It's had better.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Do you know how outraged is he must be? He's
- 0:40Speaker 1: trying to talk NBA all the time. We don't let
- 0:42Speaker 1: him get it off the ground. Taylor's you know, just
- 0:45Speaker 1: announces that the Hornets are going for it right now?
- 0:49Speaker 2: Is he is a basketball genius?
- 0:51Speaker 1: Taylor seems like a basketball genius and he can't get
- 0:54Speaker 1: a basketball conversation off the ground. But we'll talk about
- 0:57Speaker 1: CC Sabathia for fifteen fucking minutes. It's unbelievable.
- 1:00Speaker 3: I think so far, the highlight of twenty twenty six
- 1:03Speaker 3: in this group is Taylor saying the Hornets are going
- 1:07Speaker 3: for it.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Nobody knows what that means. But he's been right about it.
- 1:12Speaker 2: I knew what he meant.
- 1:13Speaker 5: Yeah, nobody knows what it means until you watch the
- 1:16Speaker 5: Hornets and then you're like, oh wait, now it's starting
- 1:18Speaker 5: to make sense.
- 1:19Speaker 2: Yes, well where do they go anyway?
- 1:21Speaker 1: Yes, it's currently in the lead for best prediction of
- 1:24Speaker 1: twenty twenty six. Let's do a Stewie Awards as soon.
- 1:29Speaker 3: As somebody figures out what it is, it's an even
- 1:32Speaker 3: better prediction.
- 1:33Speaker 1: Yes, but let's talk football here, Mikey, how do you
- 1:37Speaker 1: feel about here's a headline? Because there are some headlines.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Free agency starts next week. It's a big week, this
- 1:43Speaker 1: is a big time. This is how we're super Bowl Mikey.
- 1:45Speaker 1: It's the off season for everyone else, but for the
- 1:48Speaker 1: Jets it is playoff time.
- 1:51Speaker 4: Here's a headline is a staple for the NFL offseason,
- 1:54Speaker 4: because the NFL always has a headline. And then I've
- 1:58Speaker 4: got a new game I want to debut. Come up
- 2:00Speaker 4: here in a few minutes because NFL free agency starts soon.
- 2:04Speaker 4: We're in the middle of lying season and draft season,
- 2:06Speaker 4: so I've got a little game I like to call
- 2:09Speaker 4: Rumor has it. And then finally, because Stu loves it
- 2:14Speaker 4: so much. I've got a blind rankings for you guys.
- 2:16Speaker 2: I do love it. I do. I'm gonna get tired
- 2:20Speaker 2: of it soon, but I love it. I really do.
- 2:21Speaker 2: It's a great game, all right. So you want to
- 2:24Speaker 2: start us off with here's a headline.
- 2:26Speaker 4: Sure, here's a headline. Daneil Hunter is getting a one year,
- 2:32Speaker 4: forty million dollar deal from the Houston Texans to return.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Jesus thirty one years old. Is he fifteen sacks last year?
- 2:42Speaker 4: One?
- 2:43Speaker 1: So the Texans Chris Sims told us this their defense
- 2:46Speaker 1: was good enough to win a championship.
- 2:48Speaker 2: They almost did. CJ.
- 2:49Speaker 1: Stroud not good enough. He's the second best pass rusher
- 2:52Speaker 1: on their team. Forty million bucks.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Thirty one was that number again?
- 2:56Speaker 4: Mikey thirty one for a one year, forty million dollar deal.
- 3:00Speaker 4: This is his second extension with Houston after signing a
- 3:03Speaker 4: two year, forty nine million dollar deal as a free
- 3:06Speaker 4: agent twenty twenty four, which means he is now almost
- 3:10Speaker 4: doubling what he made.
- 3:12Speaker 3: But for a thirty one year old, you're just investing
- 3:15Speaker 3: one season. I think it's not that huge of a risk.
- 3:18Speaker 3: The thing that interests me is like, all right, so
- 3:20Speaker 3: seems like, you're going all in for this season?
- 3:22Speaker 2: Who's your quarterback? Is it still c J? Stroud?
- 3:25Speaker 3: Because this defense was so good it was not good
- 3:27Speaker 3: enough to overcome CJ.
- 3:28Speaker 2: Stroud.
- 3:29Speaker 1: So I think that's an interesting point, is he Because
- 3:31Speaker 1: when you have a defense that is championship good, why
- 3:35Speaker 1: settle a quarterback? Your quarterback was great as a rookie.
- 3:39Speaker 1: He has done nothing but gone the other way since then?
- 3:42Speaker 1: Why are the Texans so adamant? They're like, no, we're
- 3:44Speaker 1: keeping CJ.
- 3:45Speaker 2: Stroud?
- 3:46Speaker 1: Why would you not look for a better alternative a
- 3:48Speaker 1: quarterback when you're inside of a super Bowl window?
- 3:51Speaker 3: Well, not just better, but this is the type of defense.
- 3:54Speaker 3: I mean, unless we're over selling it, who knows, but
- 3:56Speaker 3: this is the type of defense that.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Can win with a Trent Dilfer, with uh.
- 4:02Speaker 4: Just a Jacob Davis Mills.
- 4:04Speaker 3: Yeah somebody, man, we already have him, somebody who's just
- 4:09Speaker 3: steady Eddy.
- 4:10Speaker 2: Just don't turn it over.
- 4:12Speaker 3: And yeah, they're instead probably gonna go back to c J.
- 4:15Speaker 2: Stroud and hope that he has the magic in him.
- 4:18Speaker 2: What happened to CJ. Stroud?
- 4:21Speaker 4: The Texans happened. All they did was give him a
- 4:24Speaker 4: band aid offensive line for three years and he wound
- 4:28Speaker 4: up just getting hit after hit. He couldn't run an offense,
- 4:31Speaker 4: and they're still trying to make up for it.
- 4:33Speaker 2: I think he was the same draft as Bryce Young,
- 4:35Speaker 2: Is that correct?
- 4:37Speaker 4: No, he was the same draft as Zach Wilson.
- 4:40Speaker 2: Oh, the same draft as Zach was.
- 4:42Speaker 1: I thought it was Bryce Young because I was gonna say,
- 4:44Speaker 1: and no one would have thought this two years ago,
- 4:45Speaker 1: that Bryce Young is the is the quarterback. I'd feel
- 4:47Speaker 1: more confident giving a long term.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Big contract to that. CJ. Stroud is that far?
- 4:54Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean after what we saw in the postseason,
- 4:58Speaker 3: it is like you start to wonder maybe the weather
- 5:01Speaker 3: was that big of a factor because he was that
- 5:04Speaker 3: bad in that weather and it was just such a
- 5:05Speaker 3: large swing. But he's not like he was great during
- 5:08Speaker 3: the season. I don't think i'd seen great c J.
- 5:10Speaker 3: Stroud since what was it two years ago?
- 5:13Speaker 4: CJ.
- 5:13Speaker 5: Shroud was picked two behind Bryce Young.
- 5:16Speaker 1: Right, That's what I thought it was, Yes, because oh,
- 5:19Speaker 1: I'm taking to Justin Fields.
- 5:20Speaker 2: Well, no, the rookie season. That was a big mistake.
- 5:23Speaker 2: Don't take it out. Leave it in.
- 5:24Speaker 4: Ohio State quarterbacks now.
- 5:27Speaker 1: But if you guys remember and I'm certain Mikey does
- 5:30Speaker 1: we all do right? The talk was that the you know,
- 5:33Speaker 1: the Carolina Panthers took the wrong quarterback in CJ.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Stroud's rookie season.
- 5:38Speaker 1: But now here we are a couple of years later,
- 5:40Speaker 1: and I would feel more comfortable giving Bryce Young a
- 5:43Speaker 1: longer term, big money contract than I would see J.
- 5:46Speaker 2: Stroud. And I never thought i'd say that two years ago.
- 5:48Speaker 3: I always forget Bryce Young's name second, because it's just
- 5:53Speaker 3: he doesn't look like a Bryce Young. And so I
- 5:56Speaker 3: saw him at Super Bowl Week and that Bryce Young,
- 6:00Speaker 3: and I was like, he is absolutely tiny.
- 6:02Speaker 2: He's tiny, yes.
- 6:04Speaker 3: Tiny, And I'm like, I, as a GM, I couldn't
- 6:07Speaker 3: give that man the keys to my franchise just based
- 6:11Speaker 3: on his size. And I'm sorry about that. That makes
- 6:13Speaker 3: me like a football sizest, but it's true.
- 6:17Speaker 1: No, I'm concerned for him when I watch him play
- 6:19Speaker 1: every Sunday, like he's gonna break in half.
- 6:24Speaker 2: I think we need another headline.
- 6:25Speaker 5: I have a headline. Jets offensive coordinator Frank Wright's preferred
- 6:31Speaker 5: choice at quarterback, Carson Wentz.
- 6:34Speaker 2: Fuck that Jesus Christ. Wow, that's why he's not the HC.
- 6:39Speaker 3: There's a lot of options out there, and Carson Wentz
- 6:41Speaker 3: is his favorite.
- 6:44Speaker 4: I love it?
- 6:45Speaker 2: Is that a real headline? Why do you love it?
- 6:48Speaker 2: Because nothing else has worked? Who knows?
- 6:51Speaker 4: Because the goal of the Jets should be twofold, to
- 6:55Speaker 4: be professional and bad, and Carson Wentz fits that mold.
- 7:00Speaker 4: I want them to look like a professional team to
- 7:02Speaker 4: the point where they can keep someone like Garrett Wilson
- 7:04Speaker 4: engaged and someone like Breeze Hall going Okay, I see
- 7:08Speaker 4: what you're trying to do here, but bad enough that
- 7:10Speaker 4: you're still picking near the top of the draft next
- 7:13Speaker 4: year when you've got guys like Arch Manning and you
- 7:15Speaker 4: have three first round picks, And this is a Jacoby
- 7:19Speaker 4: Brissett is like my ideal here where he has been
- 7:24Speaker 4: a professional quarterback for so long, but his record is awful.
- 7:28Speaker 4: And that's what I'm looking for for the New York
- 7:30Speaker 4: Jets in twenty twenty six.
- 7:32Speaker 2: Professional awfulness, Yes, professionally awful. You realize we're going to
- 7:36Speaker 2: get that regardless, right, So I mean.
- 7:38Speaker 4: No, because you look at a guy like Kyler Murray
- 7:41Speaker 4: who will make an appearance later, and you go, man,
- 7:44Speaker 4: if he does find it, like they could be eight
- 7:47Speaker 4: and eight or eight nine or nine and I'm like, no,
- 7:50Speaker 4: I don't want eight, No, no, I want no.
- 7:52Speaker 2: Kyler might just be good enough to get seven with.
- 7:55Speaker 4: Actually I don't want that. I want somebody who's going
- 7:58Speaker 4: to be professionally awful.
- 8:01Speaker 2: Wait.
- 8:02Speaker 1: Is Frank Wright playing chess and we're playing checkers? Is
- 8:04Speaker 1: that what he's doing there? I know, Taylor, Frank Wright
- 8:10Speaker 1: playing chess and we're playing jackers.
- 8:12Speaker 5: I don't know if Aaron Glenn has time for somebody
- 8:14Speaker 5: to playing chess one more bad year. If he signs
- 8:18Speaker 5: Carson Wentz, here's a headline for next season.
- 8:21Speaker 4: Aaron Glenn's out bye.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Maybe not for Frank Watts.
- 8:25Speaker 3: But here's a Taylor next season if they hire, if
- 8:27Speaker 3: they get Kyler Murray Aaron Glenn, I with this quarterback?
- 8:32Speaker 2: Oh yes, yes, the only quarterback.
- 8:35Speaker 4: I see what you did there?
- 8:38Speaker 2: Oh god? Is he? Do you have a headline here?
- 8:40Speaker 2: I do.
- 8:41Speaker 3: My headline is also it as a subhead, So I'll
- 8:43Speaker 3: tell you the headline and then or is it a
- 8:45Speaker 3: drop head? I don't know, but the headline Patriots super
- 8:48Speaker 3: Bowl champion warns about Alec Pierce, and the subhead or
- 8:52Speaker 3: drop head is quote, I'm not paying you thirty million,
- 8:57Speaker 3: and do you guys want to know who that Patriot
- 9:01Speaker 3: champion that is criticizing Alec Pierce's.
- 9:10Speaker 4: I'm going with a talking Is it like Damian Woody.
- 9:14Speaker 2: No, I can give you a hit, same race.
- 9:17Speaker 1: Also a white guy, Wes Welker, You're close, You're Wolean
- 9:23Speaker 1: edelmanry war.
- 9:25Speaker 2: Julian Edelman close? Not quite.
- 9:29Speaker 3: No, I don't know if this helps a two time
- 9:31Speaker 3: Super Bowl champion with the Patriots.
- 9:33Speaker 2: Jesus, they've had so many little we don't think. I
- 9:37Speaker 2: don't think it's that little. Is it A Hogan? Yeah?
- 9:41Speaker 3: Yes, Chris Hogan said quote, I'm looking at stuff where
- 9:45Speaker 3: Alec Pearce is going for thirty million per year. I'm
- 9:48Speaker 3: not paying thirty million for someone who to run go routes.
- 9:51Speaker 3: If you're gonna come in, you'll have to run multiple
- 9:53Speaker 3: routes in this offseason. You have to get open against press,
- 9:55Speaker 3: get open against man, and run slants and curls all
- 9:58Speaker 3: over the middle of the field. And so I looked
- 10:01Speaker 3: over at Alec Pierce's stats over the years. Yes, and
- 10:05Speaker 3: it is low number of targets and high you know,
- 10:11Speaker 3: yards per catch, Yes.
- 10:12Speaker 2: And one route the go route exactly.
- 10:15Speaker 3: And so if the guy like Alex Pierce gets a
- 10:18Speaker 3: lot of fans attention because you remember not too long ago.
- 10:21Speaker 3: I think it was Taylor who said goodbye. Who was
- 10:24Speaker 3: it Stefan Diggs, Hello, Alec Pierce that I don't know
- 10:27Speaker 3: if you want that, man, I don't.
- 10:29Speaker 2: Know if you want.
- 10:29Speaker 3: I know Drake May is the best deep ball thrower
- 10:31Speaker 3: in the league. Whatever, But it's also a pretty easy
- 10:34Speaker 3: route to defend if you know you're a one trick pony.
- 10:37Speaker 1: On radio road, didn't Tyler Shuck say to us if
- 10:40Speaker 1: he could have one wide receiver, he would want Alec
- 10:42Speaker 1: Pierce And we were all shocked by it. He was
- 10:46Speaker 1: trying anyone else off, So I think Piers seemed like
- 10:49Speaker 1: a benign name to say he can get away with it.
- 10:51Speaker 1: But he said Alec Pierce.
- 10:52Speaker 3: But listen, when another white receiver is out there criticizing you.
- 10:55Speaker 3: You're supposed to be like a little family, right, You're
- 10:57Speaker 3: supposed to protect each jogan out here saying this guy's
- 11:01Speaker 3: gonna just run go routes no thirty million from me.
- 11:04Speaker 2: I think you might want to listen to it.
- 11:05Speaker 1: You think he got a call like who is the
- 11:07Speaker 1: head of the white wide receivers?
- 11:09Speaker 4: I mean it's Wes Welker.
- 11:11Speaker 2: It's well, I mean, I mean it was like the line.
- 11:14Speaker 3: It probably started Steve Largent, right, he's probably retired, right,
- 11:17Speaker 3: and then there's a few after that.
- 11:19Speaker 2: I don't know, man, Wes Welker might have retired to.
- 11:22Speaker 4: Break question the church basement.
- 11:27Speaker 2: And he calls Alan Pearce. He's like, Alek, you can't
- 11:29Speaker 2: do that. You doing to stick together white on white crime.
- 11:34Speaker 2: What are you doing?
- 11:37Speaker 4: Is this aa? No, this is white wide receivers, Anonymous,
- 11:40Speaker 4: you're across the hall.
- 11:43Speaker 1: Uh, here's a headlot. We didn't discuss this enough yesterday.
- 11:46Speaker 1: It's a big move. DJ Moore going to the Buffalo Bills.
- 11:50Speaker 1: And the question I was trying to ask on the
- 11:52Speaker 1: radio show yesterday is if DJ Moore is any closer
- 11:56Speaker 1: to making it to a Super Bowl, to winning a
- 11:58Speaker 1: super Bowl in Buffalo than he was in Chicago. Now,
- 12:01Speaker 1: we had no choice, the Bears traded him. The Bears
- 12:03Speaker 1: have young wide receivers. But I'm just like that that's
- 12:07Speaker 1: kind of the larger point.
- 12:08Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 12:09Speaker 1: I don't feel like he's any closer, or the Buffalo
- 12:12Speaker 1: Bills or any closer to winning a Super Bowl.
- 12:16Speaker 3: Well, did you see the headline. I thought this was
- 12:18Speaker 3: going to be your headline. Did you see the headline
- 12:20Speaker 3: on Max Crosby being perhaps a future Chicago Bear? Because
- 12:25Speaker 3: if that happens, and I am DJ Moore, I'm a
- 12:28Speaker 3: little pissed off, right, Yes, But.
- 12:30Speaker 1: I don't know if that's a headline or a rumor.
- 12:32Speaker 1: A rumor that's for a different game. Second, I don't
- 12:35Speaker 1: know if it's a fact.
- 12:36Speaker 2: You know you are.
- 12:39Speaker 4: You are so much higher on this Chicago Bears team
- 12:42Speaker 4: than I am.
- 12:43Speaker 2: Still because I'm high on the quarterback Mikey. That's one.
- 12:46Speaker 4: Yeah, I get it, and he the way they won
- 12:50Speaker 4: last year is not sustainable. They did not they did
- 12:53Speaker 4: not dominate teams. They won with fluke plays at the end.
- 12:57Speaker 4: They won with absolute luck and hell Mary's and that's
- 13:01Speaker 4: awesome for a season, but it is not sustainable. So
- 13:05Speaker 4: they need to get better and then also have a
- 13:09Speaker 4: little bit of luck. And I just don't believe that
- 13:12Speaker 4: they can repeat what they did last year. So I
- 13:14Speaker 4: am down on the Bears. I don't think they're Max
- 13:17Speaker 4: Crosbie away. I think they're more than that.
- 13:20Speaker 2: It's still morning, so I was gonna guess that Stu
- 13:22Speaker 2: was high on Sativa. No, not yet, but I will
- 13:26Speaker 2: be very sick. Give me about an hour. Why what
- 13:30Speaker 2: am I saying that's wrong here?
- 13:31Speaker 1: Like for Caleb Williams, Mikey, I think everything you said
- 13:34Speaker 1: is right. I also think the Bears know that winning
- 13:37Speaker 1: that way is not sustainable in the NFL, and I
- 13:39Speaker 1: don't think they plan on doing it that way because
- 13:41Speaker 1: it's not sustainable. But you had to see things out
- 13:44Speaker 1: of that quarterback that would get you excited to think,
- 13:46Speaker 1: oh my god, if we get a Max Crosby and
- 13:49Speaker 1: put the right people around this guy, this guy's going
- 13:51Speaker 1: to take those to a super Bowl.
- 13:53Speaker 4: I've said this before. I said this the day after
- 13:55Speaker 4: it happened. The play after Caleb Williams made that Redicus
- 14:00Speaker 4: throw on fourth and twenty eight, the next pass he
- 14:04Speaker 4: sailed over on a wide open wide receiver. Like, that's
- 14:07Speaker 4: what you're getting with him. You're getting those plays that
- 14:10Speaker 4: make your jaw dright. There's no doubt, there's no denying
- 14:14Speaker 4: those plays. But until you can sustainably run an offense,
- 14:18Speaker 4: I'm not willing to call you the greatest to ever
- 14:20Speaker 4: do it like you are.
- 14:21Speaker 2: Last time I saw him.
- 14:23Speaker 3: Win a game, it was a pretty thorough beating of
- 14:27Speaker 3: the Packers.
- 14:28Speaker 2: Yep, So I don't know.
- 14:30Speaker 3: I know he's had some close games and you know
- 14:32Speaker 3: he's had some sort of miracle throws to win those games.
- 14:35Speaker 2: But he has the ability to make those.
- 14:37Speaker 3: Miracle throws, and so you get confidence, you get better,
- 14:39Speaker 3: maybe those endings won't be necessary.
- 14:41Speaker 2: Plus with their coach ye, this.
- 14:43Speaker 5: Trade feels like a bit of a desperation move from
- 14:46Speaker 5: Buffalo because it's been a while since DJ Moore looked
- 14:50Speaker 5: like a true number one receiver, and if you are
- 14:53Speaker 5: a team like Chicago that has what could be a
- 14:56Speaker 5: generational quarterback in Caleb Williams, it should be a bit
- 15:01Speaker 5: of a sign that they're this willing to move off
- 15:03Speaker 5: of him, especially if you get a second round pick
- 15:06Speaker 5: where maybe you could flip that pick get a younger
- 15:10Speaker 5: receiver to pair with Luther Burden, and then if you're Buffalo,
- 15:15Speaker 5: I think this is also while it feels like a
- 15:17Speaker 5: desperation move, it feels like that's where Brandon Bean is
- 15:21Speaker 5: now at in Buffalo, where the fan base wants his head.
- 15:25Speaker 5: He had to go out and just show that he
- 15:27Speaker 5: was making some kind of effort to give Josh Allen
- 15:30Speaker 5: targets to where it's not Marquis Valdez scantling again.
- 15:34Speaker 2: Right, it feels like a desperation move.
- 15:36Speaker 1: If this is the last move, meaning if DJ Moore
- 15:39Speaker 1: is your number one wide receiver, then yes, it feels desperate.
- 15:42Speaker 1: I don't think that's the plan. I think DJ Moore
- 15:44Speaker 1: the plan for the Buffalo Bills is to try to
- 15:46Speaker 1: get AJ Brown or somebody else make them the number one. Now,
- 15:49Speaker 1: if DJ Moore becomes your number two wide receiver, then
- 15:52Speaker 1: maybe you're onto something.
- 15:54Speaker 3: By the way, real quick, when I said keyln Wilson thorough,
- 15:56Speaker 3: I meant impressive. I meant that fourth quarter against the
- 15:58Speaker 3: Packers that wasn't like a flukey play, that was touchdown
- 16:02Speaker 3: after touchdown after touchdown in a playoff game.
- 16:04Speaker 2: It's hard not to be impressed with him.
- 16:06Speaker 1: I mean when he's throwing against the wind and throwing
- 16:08Speaker 1: darts forty years forty yards downfield and the win's not impacting.
- 16:12Speaker 1: How he throws, He's incredible. His arm strength is incredible.
- 16:15Speaker 1: He's an incredible athlete.
- 16:16Speaker 2: Yes, Mikey.
- 16:17Speaker 4: I also love the idea that the reason that they
- 16:20Speaker 4: ignored the wide receiver position in Buffalo for so long
- 16:24Speaker 4: was Sean McDermott didn't want it, because that's what's changed
- 16:27Speaker 4: this offseason for Buffalo, the fact that he left and
- 16:31Speaker 4: they just promoted everybody within the organization. They're like, you
- 16:35Speaker 4: know what, that Sean guy was holding us back from
- 16:37Speaker 4: getting a number one wide receiver. Let's go get one.
- 16:39Speaker 2: Yeah, is he?
- 16:40Speaker 5: I've also noticed Caleb Williams name might be a name
- 16:44Speaker 5: that gives you problems in the future because you want
- 16:46Speaker 5: to call him Caleb Wilson every time, so he does.
- 16:51Speaker 3: I want to watch Caleb Wilson highlights so much more
- 16:54Speaker 3: than Caleb Williams, and so it's just going to confuse me.
- 17:00Speaker 4: Out to her.

- 19:07Speaker 1: All right, let's get to some NFL rumors here. We
- 19:09Speaker 1: have our blind rankings as well. I'm very excited we're
- 19:11Speaker 1: talking about ball.
- 19:15Speaker 2: I miss it.
- 19:17Speaker 4: Go ahead, Mike, all right. So I've been scouring the internet.
- 19:20Speaker 4: I've been scouring the rumor mill, and I've come up
- 19:23Speaker 4: with a few of them that I think are pretty interesting.
- 19:26Speaker 2: Stu.
- 19:26Speaker 1: Very important to point out these are rumors. These aren't
- 19:29Speaker 1: things that have actually happened. They've just been discussed in
- 19:31Speaker 1: certain circles.
- 19:32Speaker 2: Right, Yes, this is, this is, this is.
- 19:36Speaker 4: There are reports, there are whispers, there are sources, there
- 19:40Speaker 4: are somebody in the building is saying.
- 19:43Speaker 5: As an aside, rumor, has it the rare great movie title,
- 19:47Speaker 5: song title combo?
- 19:50Speaker 4: What was the movie? Yeah? Movie title?
- 19:52Speaker 5: I don't know about the movie though, Kevin Costner, Jennifer
- 19:56Speaker 5: Jennifer Aniston.
- 19:57Speaker 3: Oh okay, yeah, not a great movie. Way better song title. Yeah,
- 20:02Speaker 3: terrible movie. The final result is way better.
- 20:04Speaker 1: I so want to support him in everything that he says,
- 20:07Speaker 1: because because I love him and because he's me and
- 20:11Speaker 1: I supported that, but then you guys really rushed it
- 20:16Speaker 1: and made me feel terrible about my support, and so
- 20:18Speaker 1: now I'm taking it away.
- 20:20Speaker 4: Rummer has a Taylor's girlfriend picks the movies.
- 20:23Speaker 3: There, I was gonna say, who knew Taylor was such
- 20:25Speaker 3: a rom com fan? As he points out himself, twenty
- 20:28Speaker 3: one percent on Rotten Tomatoes for that.
- 20:29Speaker 2: Yeah, but he's having a good movie day.
- 20:31Speaker 1: He asked Tim Kurchin about sixty one and Couragin's that's
- 20:34Speaker 1: second greatest.
- 20:35Speaker 2: Baseball movie of all time.
- 20:36Speaker 1: That was a good one, Peppery, he was feeling confident. Anyway,
- 20:41Speaker 1: you have a rumor for us?
- 20:42Speaker 4: I do, Stu Gotts This one's I'll toss this one
- 20:44Speaker 4: up to you first. Rumor has it the Jets might
- 20:48Speaker 4: not be out of the Fernando Mendoza sweepstakes as they
- 20:52Speaker 4: are continuing to talk to the Raiders about possibly moving
- 20:55Speaker 4: up to one.
- 20:56Speaker 1: Why are you saying it like that? Is that how
- 20:58Speaker 1: you discuss a rumor? Because that's how yes is he?
- 21:01Speaker 2: How do you feel about this?
- 21:02Speaker 1: As the Jets have five first round picks over the
- 21:04Speaker 1: next two seasons, I think they have the second pick
- 21:06Speaker 1: in the draft this year, the Raiders, of course have
- 21:09Speaker 1: the first pick as someone who absolutely loves Mendoza and
- 21:12Speaker 1: cares about Mendoza, and you are that guy, how would
- 21:16Speaker 1: you feel about him going to the Jets?
- 21:18Speaker 2: Pretty soon? He's gonna be my cousin.
- 21:21Speaker 3: Look, I think he's exactly the type of buttoned up
- 21:24Speaker 3: quarterback the Jets need, Like he can sort of overlook
- 21:28Speaker 3: all the past horrible organizational play or everything that they
- 21:35Speaker 3: do and just be like, I just want to win
- 21:38Speaker 3: and play football. Like he's that just pure and sort
- 21:41Speaker 3: of dorky with it. And I think he can. Yeah,
- 21:45Speaker 3: I think he can be that guy. Now, how they're
- 21:47Speaker 3: doing this the Jets is interesting. Rather than discuss moving
- 21:51Speaker 3: up one spot, which is gonna cost you an arm
- 21:54Speaker 3: and a leg, wouldn't you just rather like secretly promote
- 21:58Speaker 3: the heck out of whoever's supposed to be compar heating
- 22:00Speaker 3: for that number one spot right and say, oh.
- 22:02Speaker 2: Man, this guy's supposed to be amazing.
- 22:03Speaker 7: Oh, they don't want to miss out on such and
- 22:05Speaker 7: such Fernando Mendoza maybe not that great, and then just
- 22:08Speaker 7: remind the Raiders when they picked JaMarcus Russell that it
- 22:11Speaker 7: didn't really work out that well, and that way it
- 22:13Speaker 7: doesn't cost him a thing to let Mendoza faultitude.
- 22:16Speaker 1: That's what competent organizations do. But I think you brought
- 22:20Speaker 1: up something I didn't think about this.
- 22:21Speaker 2: Huh.
- 22:22Speaker 1: Mendoza is such a positive guy. Yeah, that I think
- 22:26Speaker 1: he might change the Like He'll walk in there not
- 22:29Speaker 1: thinking about how miserable the Jets have been for the
- 22:32Speaker 1: last fifty years. He'll be thinking, Hey, I'm an NFL quarterback,
- 22:36Speaker 1: I don't care where I play, and he might change
- 22:38Speaker 1: the entire organization.
- 22:40Speaker 2: I want this to happen.
- 22:41Speaker 3: Now, not that he did it himself, but he completed
- 22:46Speaker 3: the transition of Indiana, yes, the Jets of the NCAA
- 22:51Speaker 3: to the top of the and.
- 22:53Speaker 1: He has experiencing he has experience going to a miserable
- 22:56Speaker 1: place and making that miserable place positive and national champions.
- 23:00Speaker 1: His football positivity, whatever that is, overrides and overcomes all negativity.
- 23:07Speaker 2: So far, that's all the evidence we have.
- 23:09Speaker 4: Kurt Signetti is not walking through those doors.
- 23:12Speaker 3: Okay, hey, but listen, if he was going to walk
- 23:18Speaker 3: through an NFL door with Mendoza on the other side
- 23:22Speaker 3: of it, yes, we need to make this happen.
- 23:26Speaker 2: I don't know, so desperate. This rumor is sexy. It
- 23:30Speaker 2: is so busy.
- 23:31Speaker 1: Wow, I feel better now that you feel comfortable with
- 23:34Speaker 1: Mendoza overcoming the Jets.
- 23:36Speaker 2: Yeah, that's how that's how confident I am in I
- 23:38Speaker 2: am and my cousin.
- 23:39Speaker 4: He could be doing the same thing to us that
- 23:41Speaker 4: he wants the Jets to do to the Raiders, where
- 23:43Speaker 4: he's like, no, you should totally take that on. You
- 23:46Speaker 4: should totally do that.
- 23:47Speaker 2: I look like a trader.
- 23:50Speaker 1: Like I imagine them asking him, Hey, what do you think
- 23:52Speaker 1: of the last fifty years? This organization has been lousy?
- 23:55Speaker 1: It's the worst organization in sports. What do they play?
- 23:58Speaker 1: Professional football? Playing quarterback market number one?
- 24:01Speaker 2: I'm in Yeah, I so badly want him now, trade
- 24:05Speaker 2: my Lord and Savior. Yeah, he'll be out on league
- 24:08Speaker 2: in five years. Go ahead, Mikey.
- 24:09Speaker 4: Next, Hey is he Yeah? Rumor has it that Kyler
- 24:14Speaker 4: Murray might already have a new team lined up?
- 24:18Speaker 2: Oh and it's.
- 24:20Speaker 4: The Minnesota Vikings.
- 24:21Speaker 1: Oh wow, wow, Taylor clapping your hands? What's going on in.
- 24:28Speaker 2: Okay?
- 24:29Speaker 3: So that is not only a great rumor to hear,
- 24:34Speaker 3: it's the perfect landing spot for him of the available ones,
- 24:38Speaker 3: but even if he didn't pick that particular spot, or
- 24:41Speaker 3: if he was going to pick it.
- 24:42Speaker 2: It's just a rumor, Stu.
- 24:44Speaker 3: I've never been more convinced that Kyler Murray, if he
- 24:50Speaker 3: does one thing, is going to be great.
- 24:53Speaker 2: But we have to stop right here.
- 24:55Speaker 3: Because Taylor has some breaking news and right now we're
- 24:59Speaker 3: just talking about rumors.
- 25:01Speaker 2: So breaking news always takes precedent. So we're going from
- 25:03Speaker 2: rumors to actual news.
- 25:04Speaker 1: Yes, this is again, we're back to a headline. I
- 25:07Speaker 1: prefer rumors, but go ahead, Taylor.
- 25:09Speaker 5: The Raiders, according to Adam Schefter, are releasing last season
- 25:12Speaker 5: starting quarterback Gino Smith barring a trade before the start
- 25:16Speaker 5: of the new league year.
- 25:18Speaker 2: Frank Reike wants him.
- 25:19Speaker 4: He does. That is one of the That is one
- 25:23Speaker 4: of the names that Frank Reich wants. Carson Wentz, Gino Smith. Uh,
- 25:29Speaker 4: whichever car is available. I forget which one is coming.
- 25:32Speaker 1: Out of retire the cars, Derek not David h So
- 25:36Speaker 1: he wants a bridge quarterback, that's all he wants. He
- 25:38Speaker 1: essentially wants a bridge quarterback. That's what he wants Murray, right, Yes,
- 25:42Speaker 1: but is he You think Kyler Murray is going to
- 25:45Speaker 1: be good based if he does one thing differently.
- 25:47Speaker 2: Yes, he'll become the quarterback we all thought he was
- 25:49Speaker 2: going to be.
- 25:49Speaker 4: Yeah, so let's hear.
- 25:51Speaker 2: Let's take a quick well, no, let's take a quick
- 25:53Speaker 2: see that actually, say Kingsbury thought he was going to be.
- 25:55Speaker 3: Right, Let's take a quick recap down Kyler Murray's career.
- 25:58Speaker 2: Okay, all the way back to high school. Dude, I
- 26:01Speaker 2: don't know if you knew this.
- 26:02Speaker 3: Forty two and oh in high school, three consecutive state championships. Unbelievable,
- 26:06Speaker 3: number one you know, recruit in the country. Okay, Then
- 26:10Speaker 3: there was that conversation of does he love football like
- 26:13Speaker 3: that because he played baseball as well. I tend to
- 26:15Speaker 3: think if you're playing two sports at a professional level.
- 26:19Speaker 2: You're an elite competitor. You love that shit Like if
- 26:21Speaker 2: you pay too you don't love one.
- 26:24Speaker 3: Taylor knows that, right, Yeah, he transferred to Oklahoma from
- 26:29Speaker 3: A and M, played behind the number one pick in
- 26:31Speaker 3: the draft, and then win and win the Heisman and
- 26:34Speaker 3: was the number one pick himself. Right, got all that right? Okay,
- 26:39Speaker 3: first few years whatever, showed some promise. Start off seven
- 26:42Speaker 3: to oh in twenty twenty one, right, he lost in
- 26:45Speaker 3: a playoffs to the eventual Super Bowl winners, and basically
- 26:50Speaker 3: did that in a college offense.
- 26:51Speaker 2: It was Cliff Kingsbury stuff.
- 26:53Speaker 3: Okay, he gets the big contract extension and that's where
- 26:56Speaker 3: the whole thing goes left because they have the one
- 26:59Speaker 3: claw was in there with the you got to study
- 27:02Speaker 3: for four hours, which became such an embarrassment they eventually
- 27:05Speaker 3: took it out. But then all of a sudden, his
- 27:06Speaker 3: work ethic is a problem. He has a season with
- 27:10Speaker 3: DeAndre Hopkins suspended, he's got a hammy thing, he tears
- 27:13Speaker 3: his ACL like in a non contact situation. Like all
- 27:17Speaker 3: these things I don't think are great measures for him
- 27:21Speaker 3: because everything was kind of wacky, and then you get
- 27:23Speaker 3: the ACL tear right the one thing and while he
- 27:27Speaker 3: was down, Basically that's when the Cliff Kingsbury stuff happened.
- 27:29Speaker 3: They ruined the GM left and everything else. If he
- 27:33Speaker 3: can avoid injuries too, so the one thing I'm saying
- 27:37Speaker 3: is he needs to if they need to know how
- 27:39Speaker 3: he's willing to train because a non contact injury. For
- 27:41Speaker 3: the most part, I'm not saying you can avoid that entirely,
- 27:44Speaker 3: but if you watch his injury, you can. You can
- 27:47Speaker 3: train in a way where non contact injuries just are
- 27:50Speaker 3: very slim probability. Okay, the reason I say that is
- 27:53Speaker 3: because Mikey, he's twenty eight, twenty nine years old.
- 27:57Speaker 2: Can he go play baseball? Now? I think that's that
- 28:00Speaker 2: ship has sailed. I think it's too late.
- 28:02Speaker 3: If that man has any competitive spirit in him, it's
- 28:05Speaker 3: in its one sport and this one sport only, and
- 28:08Speaker 3: the desire to be the Sam Darnald who just did
- 28:11Speaker 3: it for us, just showed us.
- 28:13Speaker 2: And he's got to say to himself, I'm better than
- 28:14Speaker 2: that dude.
- 28:15Speaker 3: And then he goes to a Minnesota team that has
- 28:17Speaker 3: built in wide receivers and talent. As long as he
- 28:20Speaker 3: trains in a way where he doesn't get injured. I'm
- 28:22Speaker 3: not saying be as quick and fast as he was before,
- 28:25Speaker 3: but just training away where you're sort of taking out
- 28:27Speaker 3: the possibility of those non contact injuries.
- 28:31Speaker 2: I think that dude is going to be pro Bowl level.
- 28:34Speaker 3: Like I don't know about spectacular, but he's going to
- 28:36Speaker 3: be very very good again.
- 28:38Speaker 1: Tooth awful, way too nuanced, Mikey. I know Mikey was
- 28:41Speaker 1: feeling it, Taylor was feeling it.
- 28:42Speaker 2: It's the finer feeling. It's a mill.
- 28:44Speaker 1: It just goes round and around. We throw around Wilbers,
- 28:47Speaker 1: We toss him around. Here's how you play the game.
- 28:49Speaker 1: When he says that Kyler Murray vikings, just say Kevin
- 28:51Speaker 1: O'Connell quarterback, whisper of my ass. I mean, Jesus Christ,
- 28:54Speaker 1: he had Donald, he let Donald go. He swore to
- 28:56Speaker 1: us that JJ McCarthy was gonna be good. JJ McCarthy
- 28:59Speaker 1: wasn't good. He's not a quarterback whisper. He's an overrated
- 29:02Speaker 1: head coach.
- 29:03Speaker 2: We move on. It's it is he.
- 29:05Speaker 5: I was laughing because I was looking up I was
- 29:07Speaker 5: looking up Kyler Murray articles just to see what people
- 29:10Speaker 5: were talking about about Kyler Murray. And we mentioned the
- 29:15Speaker 5: Mike Florio Adam Schefter beef on the radio show yesterday. Yeah,
- 29:20Speaker 5: Mike Florio put out an article on Pro Football Talk.
- 29:23Speaker 5: In hindsight, the Cardinals should have traded Kyler Murray four
- 29:27Speaker 5: seasons ago. In hindsight, the Dolphins should have traded to
- 29:34Speaker 5: UH before giving him that big contract.
- 29:36Speaker 8: Yes, we're not giving him the big contract. Did you
- 29:40Speaker 8: think about that tweet before he put that out? How
- 29:44Speaker 8: mad are you at me right now?
- 29:47Speaker 2: No? I'm agree with By the way, Yes, he's gonna
- 29:53Speaker 2: be good there, But it's just a rumor mill. I mean,
- 29:56Speaker 2: I know, I know, but I'm not saying he's gonna
- 29:59Speaker 2: be good with the Viking. He could be anywhere.
- 30:01Speaker 3: He's going to be good anywhere, but Vikings is the
- 30:03Speaker 3: best landing spot for I agree.
- 30:05Speaker 5: Going back to Gino Smith for a second, how much
- 30:08Speaker 5: do you think Geno Smith hates Clint Kubiak Because Clint
- 30:12Speaker 5: Kubiak takes the Seahawks job last season and then one
- 30:15Speaker 5: of the first things he does in Seattle is be like, Hey,
- 30:18Speaker 5: Gino Smith, this guy's not my quarterback. Get him out
- 30:21Speaker 5: of here. Gino Smith goes to Vegas, gets a second chance.
- 30:25Speaker 5: Clint Kubiak now gets the Raiders job, and one of
- 30:28Speaker 5: the first things Clint Kubiak does is say, Gino Smith,
- 30:31Speaker 5: get this guy out of here for the second time.
- 30:34Speaker 2: He can't win with him.
- 30:35Speaker 4: I think you have that wrong. How much does Clint
- 30:37Speaker 4: Kubiak hey Geno Smith is the question.
- 30:39Speaker 1: Yeah, I think Gino's pretty happy, go lucky. I thought,
- 30:42Speaker 1: you know, Gino probably thought his career was done after
- 30:44Speaker 1: the Jets and he had a resurgence. He really had
- 30:46Speaker 1: made a lot of money in the process and made
- 30:48Speaker 1: a couple of Pro Bowls about a career that we
- 30:50Speaker 1: thought he was gonna have.
- 30:52Speaker 4: All right, two more rumors here we go. Hey, hey, hey,
- 30:55Speaker 4: Taylor quick Ones. Rumor has it Arizona might have found
- 31:00Speaker 4: their new quarterback to replace Kyler Murray. Jimmy Garoppolo.
- 31:06Speaker 2: He's still around.
- 31:06Speaker 4: Huh, he's still there.
- 31:09Speaker 5: That ship is sailed.
- 31:10Speaker 2: Let me give you a breakdown of Jimmy Garoppolo. Question.
- 31:15Speaker 2: He can eliminate this one thing. Let's stop down for
- 31:20Speaker 2: some more. Gino Smith news real quick.
- 31:23Speaker 4: That's a handsome man right there.
- 31:24Speaker 2: Oh it is, yes, back up last ones too.
- 31:28Speaker 4: Rumor has it that the San Francisco forty nine ers
- 31:34Speaker 4: want more than a second round pick in a trade
- 31:38Speaker 4: for mac Jones.
- 31:40Speaker 2: They should.
- 31:41Speaker 1: I told you that the mistake they made with Darnold
- 31:43Speaker 1: was it was a one year deal. They didn't have
- 31:45Speaker 1: him on a second year, so they had to let
- 31:47Speaker 1: him go. They did not make that mistake with mac Jones.
- 31:50Speaker 1: They signed him to a second year, and mac Jones
- 31:53Speaker 1: was good when he filled in for brock Party. Plus,
- 31:57Speaker 1: they can kind of position it like this. Look at
- 31:59Speaker 1: what Sam Donald turned into being a backup after one
- 32:03Speaker 1: year in San Francisco.
- 32:04Speaker 2: Look what we turned him into.
- 32:05Speaker 1: And Sam Donald gives Kyle Shanahan most of the credit
- 32:08Speaker 1: for turning him into this, right, and so, yeah, that
- 32:12Speaker 1: makes sense. Like I would, I would want I agree
- 32:15Speaker 1: with them for wanting more than a second round pick
- 32:17Speaker 1: for mac Jones. He played good enough and that coach
- 32:20Speaker 1: helped him enough where you have to think he's going
- 32:22Speaker 1: to be pretty good.
- 32:22Speaker 3: I want the Jets to get him. I really do
- 32:25Speaker 3: they have we? I mean Mac Jones. San Fransco forty
- 32:28Speaker 3: nine ers are a team that's probably needed the most
- 32:30Speaker 3: out of their backup quarterbacks over the years in key situations, right,
- 32:34Speaker 3: I mean, And so I mean that's how they discovered
- 32:37Speaker 3: brock Party, I guess essentially. And so I think they
- 32:40Speaker 3: value I say that to say they value their backup
- 32:42Speaker 3: quarterbacks probably as high as any other team in the league.
- 32:45Speaker 3: And given what he did last year, Yeah, I mean
- 32:48Speaker 3: I would value him as well a second round draft
- 32:50Speaker 3: pick better than that. I mean, I would put that
- 32:53Speaker 3: out there. Frank w Reich doesn't.
- 32:55Speaker 2: Like him, though, so he wants Carson once.
- 33:02Speaker 4: Professionally bad.
- 33:04Speaker 1: We are fucking the worst. Good Luck Mendoza.

- 34:20Speaker 2: Do we have blind rankings here because I'm tired of rumors?
- 34:23Speaker 4: Yeah, We've got blind rankings.
- 34:25Speaker 2: All right? Is he hates rumors? Do you understand you're
- 34:27Speaker 2: dealing with a professional journalist. He doesn't like to dabble
- 34:30Speaker 2: in the rumor mill.
- 34:34Speaker 4: Wrong season for that.
- 34:36Speaker 3: That's why I got by my least favorite thing of
- 34:39Speaker 3: covering basketball. It was just the off season. And that
- 34:42Speaker 3: was back in the day where it was like actual
- 34:43Speaker 3: newspapers on your front door. So I'd wake up scared
- 34:46Speaker 3: like crazy to see if Ira Winderman had breaking news
- 34:49Speaker 3: and they're like, oh, shoot, nothing.
- 34:51Speaker 2: What a terrible way to live.
- 34:54Speaker 4: All right, you hate rumors, But how do you feel
- 34:58Speaker 4: about blind rankings?
- 34:59Speaker 2: Favor it? Trying to get and keep three. It's my
- 35:03Speaker 2: favorite game.
- 35:03Speaker 4: Keep three, cut five.
- 35:05Speaker 2: This is blind rankings.
- 35:06Speaker 4: This is blind rankings.
- 35:08Speaker 3: And I recommend writing these down Taylors, so that you
- 35:11Speaker 3: don't request, yes, keep track.
- 35:15Speaker 5: Well, Mike, he's keeping track right, Yeah I am.
- 35:18Speaker 1: But so is this the game and one of us
- 35:21Speaker 1: is going to ask this every single time? We all
- 35:23Speaker 1: have to agree on this blind rankings.
- 35:25Speaker 4: Nope, this is that you all get to pick your
- 35:27Speaker 4: own number. Here, Mike, you just to fill you in
- 35:30Speaker 4: with Adam. I mean yesterday it was such a disaster.
- 35:33Speaker 4: I think I accidentally let him get two four's and
- 35:36Speaker 4: two number five.
- 35:37Speaker 2: He did, ye, that's why.
- 35:38Speaker 4: Those are big numbers to allow what is.
- 35:41Speaker 2: He asked him to write it? Down is a complete disaster.
- 35:45Speaker 3: To be fair, I also thought Adam Amen was writing
- 35:47Speaker 3: it down because I told them at the beginning, get it,
- 35:50Speaker 3: get your pen and paper ready.
- 35:51Speaker 2: He had nothing. Yeah, I mean, listen, he's also doing
- 35:54Speaker 2: us a favor, I.
- 35:55Speaker 5: Mean, and Mikey Nope. It would have been fine. But
- 35:59Speaker 5: after the ended, Adam I mean said hey, can you
- 36:02Speaker 5: tell me what my list was?
- 36:03Speaker 1: And then I oh no, I said, O yeah, no, idea.
- 36:10Speaker 4: I'll make you a ten plate like I've got one.
- 36:13Speaker 2: Two, three, four, five, nine? Yeah, periods or no period
- 36:18Speaker 2: after the number?
- 36:19Speaker 4: Uh no this time? No period sometimes dashes. I get you,
- 36:25Speaker 4: all right. So today's blind ranking category is NFL running
- 36:31Speaker 4: Backs twenty nine years and older.
- 36:35Speaker 2: Wow.
- 36:36Speaker 1: So current NFL running backs twenty nine years or older?
- 36:40Speaker 4: Yes, because the magic number for because the magic number
- 36:43Speaker 4: for a running back is thirty. So these are all
- 36:45Speaker 4: guys either thirty or going to be thirty.
- 36:48Speaker 3: And this is guys that I want currently one through
- 36:51Speaker 3: ten or have had the best careers went through ten.
- 36:54Speaker 2: I think, just careers, right, that's what we're doing.
- 36:57Speaker 4: I would say, this is who you want, right.
- 37:00Speaker 5: Walk It's a different game now, Okay again, So just
- 37:03Speaker 5: to be clear, Barry Sanders is fifty seven. Could Barry
- 37:05Speaker 5: Sanders come up?
- 37:07Speaker 4: Is Barry Sanders on a roster or at least going
- 37:10Speaker 4: to be on a roster?
- 37:11Speaker 2: Okay, kurrent, you'd be number one for me.
- 37:14Speaker 1: Running even to beginning he's coming back, he'd still be
- 37:17Speaker 1: number one. And the off chance that he does come back.
- 37:19Speaker 3: You know, I understand, even with those rules, I'm gonna
- 37:22Speaker 3: keep number one open for Barry Sanders.
- 37:25Speaker 4: You know what, I'm gonna do something I never do. Guys,
- 37:27Speaker 4: Barry Sanders isn't on the list. Okay, okay, all right.
- 37:30Speaker 1: So this is twenty nine or older currently playing in
- 37:33Speaker 1: the NFL of guys that.
- 37:34Speaker 2: You would want on your team running back position right
- 37:37Speaker 2: right now? Got it?
- 37:39Speaker 4: Okay? First name up, David Montgomery.
- 37:45Speaker 2: Power back wear and tear. This is gonna be the
- 37:50Speaker 2: first blind rankings around linking up stats. You can't blind.
- 37:54Speaker 3: That's it's blind, right right, damn it, Stop with the stats.
- 37:59Speaker 2: Let's see.
- 37:59Speaker 4: It's it's all I feel here.
- 38:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 38:04Speaker 5: The problem with this list is normally I could think
- 38:06Speaker 5: ahead and be like, okay, I know could be coming.
- 38:09Speaker 2: But you know, yes, just twenty I don't know David
- 38:15Speaker 2: Montgomery going to be my numbers, like I'm so with tailor.
- 38:19Speaker 2: I'm processing Joe Mixon. How old is he? Like, I'm
- 38:21Speaker 2: just drying. I know he's coming off an injury, but
- 38:24Speaker 2: how old are these guys?
- 38:25Speaker 3: I don't know to trust Mikey and his let's say,
- 38:30Speaker 3: traditional approach to this game. And I'm putting David Montgomery
- 38:33Speaker 3: as close to the middle as possible.
- 38:35Speaker 2: Number five. I think that's a good play right there.
- 38:37Speaker 1: I'm gonna put David Montgomery, who could still give you
- 38:40Speaker 1: another year or two.
- 38:41Speaker 2: I think, uh, somewhere in the middle there.
- 38:44Speaker 1: I didn't realize there were ten running backs older than
- 38:46Speaker 1: twenty nine in the NFL.
- 38:48Speaker 4: Oh, there's twelve. I had to cut a few.
- 38:50Speaker 1: Really, Okay, I'm gonna put Montgomery at six for me,
- 38:52Speaker 1: David Montgomery at six.
- 38:54Speaker 5: I'm gonna go Montgomery at three. Mikey, I think he's
- 38:57Speaker 5: he's got a lot left in the tank because of
- 38:59Speaker 5: how they view him.
- 39:00Speaker 4: Engineered Gibbs. That is well done. Next name up, Saquon Barkley.
- 39:04Speaker 2: Oh shit, are we allowed to ask how old they are?
- 39:10Speaker 2: If that would make a major difference.
- 39:11Speaker 4: In they're twenty nine.
- 39:14Speaker 1: And a.
- 39:16Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 39:16Speaker 2: Is he? I mean, listen, so Saquon Is. He don't
- 39:19Speaker 2: worry about the age.
- 39:20Speaker 1: Just realized that two years ago we should have been
- 39:22Speaker 1: the NFL MVP. Had one of the great years that
- 39:24Speaker 1: running back has ever had in the NFL. A little
- 39:26Speaker 1: bit of a letdown last year, had some injuries last year.
- 39:30Speaker 1: But all the running backs who are older than twenty
- 39:33Speaker 1: nine currently in the NFL, he has to be near
- 39:35Speaker 1: the top. I mean he has to be number one.
- 39:36Speaker 1: I would take Oh, I'm gonna put it on one
- 39:39Speaker 1: and take my chances.
- 39:40Speaker 2: Wow, yeah, I'm going number two.
- 39:43Speaker 5: Okay, I'm gonna put saquon one.
- 39:46Speaker 1: Okay, okay, right, you hold out hope for that year
- 39:49Speaker 1: two years ago exactly where I.
- 39:51Speaker 4: Yes, next name on the list, Sharon Jones.
- 39:55Speaker 2: All right, feel better now for a moment.
- 39:59Speaker 1: So no no follow up questions, Nope, just Aaron Jones Is.
- 40:04Speaker 4: He's trying not to google who he is.
- 40:07Speaker 3: No, I'm a fan of Aaron Jones. I just forget
- 40:09Speaker 3: where he played this passion.
- 40:11Speaker 2: I think it was the last year he was on
- 40:13Speaker 2: the but he was, but he was released, right he
- 40:17Speaker 2: was released.
- 40:18Speaker 1: Yes, I'm going ten here on Aaron Jones. He's better
- 40:22Speaker 1: than that. No ten, I got him number eight. I'm
- 40:25Speaker 1: gonna put Aaron Jones at nine.
- 40:27Speaker 2: I got Taylor. We were outraged by ten, and you
- 40:30Speaker 2: only moved him up once.
- 40:31Speaker 4: We moved him up one.
- 40:32Speaker 2: Definition of some antics.
- 40:34Speaker 4: I think.
- 40:36Speaker 2: Ten.
- 40:36Speaker 4: What how dare you nine? Next name on the list,
- 40:41Speaker 4: James Connor, still getting it done. There are some names
- 40:47Speaker 4: on this list like this.
- 40:48Speaker 1: Is no no. I would say James Connor is thirty.
- 40:54Speaker 1: I would say thirty one.
- 40:56Speaker 5: I think James Connor was my year because we played
- 40:59Speaker 5: him when he was at Pittsburgh.
- 41:00Speaker 2: M hm, so thirty one, right, thirty two, Yeah.
- 41:03Speaker 5: He's about that age. I'm gonna go nine.
- 41:09Speaker 2: I'm gonna s not himnute seven. Why are you saying that?
- 41:14Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 41:15Speaker 3: I feel like that's because I'm higher on James Connor
- 41:20Speaker 3: than others, and that's all I'm supposed to say it.
- 41:23Speaker 1: Yep, I'm gonna put James Connor at eight.
- 41:26Speaker 4: I'm higher on him. I'm gonna put him one off
- 41:29Speaker 4: the bottom for.
- 41:30Speaker 2: Well, I mean, you know, Taylor put him ten.
- 41:34Speaker 4: I mean right, that's that's fine. Next name on the list,
- 41:38Speaker 4: Alvin Kamara.
- 41:40Speaker 1: He's still playing well. He is, Yeah, two consecutive years.
- 41:45Speaker 1: I only know this because he was on my fantasy team.
- 41:49Speaker 1: I put Tomorrow. Wow, he's a good player. I put
- 41:52Speaker 1: Kamara number number. That's not a number number. Fuck number
- 41:58Speaker 1: Fuck the epen box stands for four, number four for me.
- 42:02Speaker 1: Alvin Kamara same.
- 42:06Speaker 5: I'm gonna put Alvin Kamara five. Mikey split the list.
- 42:09Speaker 3: I'll tell you guys that have a niece that's gotten
- 42:11Speaker 3: in trouble in school because she keeps saying, what the fuck?
- 42:13Speaker 4: Yeah, she keeps hearing it from her uncle.
- 42:17Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, thanks, what next?
- 42:21Speaker 4: Name up? Nick Chubb?
- 42:27Speaker 1: Chubb was with the Texans, didn't do much. Thought he
- 42:30Speaker 1: was gonna do a lot with that scene. Joe Mixon
- 42:33Speaker 1: was out the entire year.
- 42:34Speaker 4: One year removed from his massive devastating knee injury.
- 42:39Speaker 1: Right in one play away from that happening again with him.
- 42:41Speaker 1: Unfortunately for Nick Chubb, I'm gonna put him at ten.
- 42:44Speaker 5: For me, Taylor, I'm gonna put Nick Chubb at seven
- 42:49Speaker 5: just because of that injury concern.
- 42:52Speaker 2: I'm gonna stick Chubby in at nine. I'd love a
- 42:56Speaker 2: little Chubby.
- 42:59Speaker 4: They're always a little chick for me. So, Taylor, you
- 43:03Speaker 4: have two, four, six, and eight available. Stu Gotts, you
- 43:07Speaker 4: have two three, five, and seven available. Is he has one, three, six,
- 43:12Speaker 4: and ten available.
- 43:13Speaker 1: This is how you host the game, Taylor. I mean there,
- 43:15Speaker 1: it is right there.
- 43:17Speaker 4: For the next name on the list, Derrick Henry.
- 43:22Speaker 5: I love my list actually right now because I'm putting
- 43:24Speaker 5: Derrick Henry too.
- 43:25Speaker 2: I'm putting them at two as well.
- 43:27Speaker 3: Yes, so this is where we might differ because I
- 43:30Speaker 3: just think, even though he's older, that Derrick Henry is
- 43:34Speaker 3: more valuable than Saquon Barko. So that's why I left
- 43:38Speaker 3: one open because I thought Derreck Henry would be available.
- 43:40Speaker 3: But now I'm racking my brain and see if there's
- 43:42Speaker 3: another still available that's better than Saquaan.
- 43:46Speaker 1: Oh, listen the way I number one, dere I'll take
- 43:51Speaker 1: them when they're available because I have no idea who's
- 43:53Speaker 1: going to be available. So he's made Derek Henry available
- 43:56Speaker 1: to me, and I'll put them at number two.
- 43:57Speaker 2: That's a number one for me.
- 43:59Speaker 4: Next name, Go ahead, go ahead, Taylor.
- 44:02Speaker 5: Last year, before the After Ravens Game one, I was
- 44:06Speaker 5: texting to Tony and I said, I think I think
- 44:09Speaker 5: Derrick Henry might be washed. Since then, he's rushed for
- 44:12Speaker 5: almost four thousand yards and two seasons with thirty two touchdowns.
- 44:16Speaker 2: Yeah, it's totally stop letting you know about it.
- 44:20Speaker 4: Everything. He might be washed.
- 44:25Speaker 2: Fall security has washed.
- 44:29Speaker 4: Next name on the list, friend of the show where
- 44:34Speaker 4: he mostered?
- 44:35Speaker 2: Oh, I would have it. That's why you leave number
- 44:38Speaker 2: ten open no offense. Friends love for him.
- 44:41Speaker 1: Yeah, but he was he was relegated to uh the
- 44:44Speaker 1: kick returns last year on the r this is this.
- 44:46Speaker 5: Is just for running backs, right, just for running backs? Okay,
- 44:50Speaker 5: Because I have to factor in the the kick return
- 44:54Speaker 5: specialist part of it, then he might be higher. I'm
- 44:56Speaker 5: gonna put him at eight.
- 44:58Speaker 2: I'll put him at seven. I have to put him
- 45:00Speaker 2: at seven.
- 45:00Speaker 1: But I do think where he, if given the opportunity,
- 45:03Speaker 1: does have like he's in really good shape, and I
- 45:05Speaker 1: do think he does. He let the NFL touchdowns a
- 45:08Speaker 1: few years ago, so I think if given enough Gary's
- 45:10Speaker 1: he could be a productive guy. I'll put him at seven.
- 45:12Speaker 4: Okay, Okay, So Taylor has four and six left, Stu
- 45:17Speaker 4: Gotts has three and five left. Is he has three
- 45:20Speaker 4: and six left?
- 45:21Speaker 2: Wow, we've all played pretty similarly.
- 45:23Speaker 4: Yes, you have. For the next name on the list,
- 45:27Speaker 4: Kareem Hunt Chiefs Chiefs.
- 45:32Speaker 2: Yeah, Chiefs had.
- 45:34Speaker 4: A pretty good year. He did when Checko went down,
- 45:37Speaker 4: he stepped up.
- 45:38Speaker 1: He did short yardage back at your touchdowns. Gareem Hunt
- 45:43Speaker 1: was like a speedster, right, and then all of a
- 45:44Speaker 1: sudden turned into a powerback.
- 45:46Speaker 2: Is that fair?
- 45:49Speaker 4: Shifty?
- 45:50Speaker 2: Sure?
- 45:51Speaker 3: When Chris Cody was doing started doing the word combining thing,
- 45:55Speaker 3: I really wish somebody would throw him Kareem Hunt and.
- 45:58Speaker 2: See if he would do that. Excuse me, it's okay,
- 46:05Speaker 2: keep it all on.
- 46:05Speaker 5: I'm going to put Kareem Hunt at six. I would
- 46:10Speaker 5: probably wish I had a lower spot for him, but
- 46:12Speaker 5: I'm gonna go six here.
- 46:14Speaker 1: I have no choice with them at five. Sorry, yes,
- 46:16Speaker 1: go ahead, No six for me as well? All right,
- 46:18Speaker 1: I'm going five because that's the slot I have. So
- 46:21Speaker 1: and all right, there's one better than Kareem Hunt.
- 46:23Speaker 2: They're better be.
- 46:25Speaker 4: So Stu gottson. I isy have three left? Tailor has
- 46:28Speaker 4: four left for our last name on the list, Christian McCaffrey.
- 46:33Speaker 2: Oh man, how is he twenty nine? You know what?
- 46:39Speaker 2: I like my list? I still like it.
- 46:41Speaker 1: Like The best move I made was putting Kamar at
- 46:44Speaker 1: four because I'm okay. Even though I don't get McCaffrey,
- 46:47Speaker 1: I'm okay. Having saquandered, Derrick Henry.
- 46:49Speaker 3: Yeah, got Eric Henry one just for the consistent product productivity,
- 46:54Speaker 3: Saquon Barkley two, Christian McCaffrey.
- 46:57Speaker 2: Three, which I'm okay with because of the occasionally and.
- 47:01Speaker 3: Then I go Kamara Montgomery, Kareem Hunt, James Connor, Aaron Jones,
- 47:05Speaker 3: Nick Chubb fore he mostered.
- 47:06Speaker 2: I think I nailed it. Yeah.
- 47:08Speaker 5: My only problem with my list is I wish I
- 47:10Speaker 5: flipped David Montgomery and CMC at three and four, just because,
- 47:14Speaker 5: like you guys said, I think one through three on
- 47:17Speaker 5: this list, if we had every name available, could have
- 47:19Speaker 5: been pretty interchangeable.
- 47:21Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what I'm saying. I'm happy with either one,
- 47:23Speaker 2: with any one of those three.
- 47:24Speaker 3: Yes, I think coming off the last season, most people
- 47:26Speaker 3: would say Christian McCaffrey won, probably, Derrick Henry two and
- 47:30Speaker 3: Saquon three. If it was after two seasons ago, it
- 47:33Speaker 3: would be Saquon one, CMC two maybe, and Derrek Henry three.
- 47:37Speaker 2: But McCaffrey was for the most part healthy last year, right, Yeah.
- 47:40Speaker 3: Yeah, everybody, if you remember he started off the season,
- 47:43Speaker 3: everybody was just giving him a hard time because, oh,
- 47:45Speaker 3: he's gonna be injured again.
- 47:46Speaker 2: Da da da.
- 47:47Speaker 3: Good luck on your fantasy season. And then he was
- 47:49Speaker 3: healthy all season.
- 47:50Speaker 1: Yeah, he was awesome. I only point that out to
- 47:52Speaker 1: say there's probably.
- 47:53Speaker 2: I hate saying this, but the guy's often injured. There's
- 47:55Speaker 2: an injury right around the corner. I mean, they wait
- 47:58Speaker 2: to justify your list. Man, gotta do what you got
- 48:00Speaker 2: ahead of number one. There is no justice byan. He's
- 48:02Speaker 2: the best player in football.
- 48:06Speaker 5: M h m hm
