Mayor Spencer Duncan is rolling up his sleeves to boost blood donations, personally offering to walk donors through the process to ease anxiety and encourage participation. With summer vacations and disrupted routines causing a dip in donations — down to just ten to fifty donors a day — the Community Blood Center is sounding the alarm. This vital hub supplies blood, platelets, plasma, and red cells to hospitals across northeast Kansas, including Topeka’s main facilities.
