- 0:00Speaker 1: What to Do.
- 0:00Speaker 2: We're back again with the Grounded Show, another special guess
- 0:05Speaker 2: in the studio, the War Creative Angel.
- 0:09Speaker 1: What's something my boys appreciate you having me?
- 0:11Speaker 3: Man?
- 0:12Speaker 4: You know, one thing we appreciate is artistry. You know,
- 0:15Speaker 4: let'son's an artist. You're an artist. I'm a major fan
- 0:20Speaker 4: of music and the thought and the process that goes
- 0:24Speaker 4: into it. And you are already just watching you how
- 0:28Speaker 4: you do it. It's something that I admire. So one
- 0:32Speaker 4: of the main reasons having you on here is appreciating
- 0:35Speaker 4: your artistry.
- 0:35Speaker 3: Man, thank you for coming on.
- 0:37Speaker 1: That's love, bro, I really appreciate that. Brother.
- 0:40Speaker 2: Facts something that we're gonna get into today for sure,
- 0:43Speaker 2: just kind of expanding on that, just the idea of
- 0:45Speaker 2: like doing it for real versus like portraying that you're
- 0:50Speaker 2: doing it. So that's definitely gonna be something that we're
- 0:52Speaker 2: going to talk about. But yeah, man, I know, I
- 0:55Speaker 2: know you had.
- 0:55Speaker 4: Yeah, so this and this is this is one of
- 0:58Speaker 4: my main things. Right Like, you have artists, you know,
- 1:02Speaker 4: and I can name artists that had controversy. We can
- 1:06Speaker 4: go back to Chris Brown, Diddy, R Kelly, and Kanye.
- 1:11Speaker 4: But seeing Kanye do these LA shows and bring out
- 1:16Speaker 4: like Laurence Hill and see the following and the fan
- 1:20Speaker 4: engagement and then they cancel the wiest Like how important
- 1:26Speaker 4: is that fan engagement to the true artistry of what
- 1:29Speaker 4: he does?
- 1:31Speaker 3: If that makes sense?
- 1:34Speaker 1: I mean, man, like yo like the fan engagement.
- 1:38Speaker 5: I feel like the importance of fan engagement ya yay
- 1:43Speaker 5: is the perfect example of like going against the grain,
- 1:47Speaker 5: going against the industry, and his fans like have been
- 1:52Speaker 5: loyal to him because of the quality of work that
- 1:55Speaker 5: he's put out throughout the years. Like I know he's
- 1:58Speaker 5: made like some decisions that people like quote unquote can
- 2:01Speaker 5: try to cancel him, but if you think about it,
- 2:03Speaker 5: come on, like, yeah, he's pretty uncanceled.
- 2:06Speaker 1: He's uncanceled.
- 2:07Speaker 6: Bro, like proved it with these show Yeah, bro, definitely
- 2:11Speaker 6: that's that That's so important because like you give the
- 2:15Speaker 6: art first, right, because I know everybody knows those three albums,
- 2:19Speaker 6: those first four or five.
- 2:20Speaker 1: I would say, I'll say, like the first five like really.
- 2:24Speaker 5: College drop Out, their Registration, Graduation, Way to Heartbreak, and
- 2:29Speaker 5: My Dark Twist Fantasy.
- 2:31Speaker 1: I think I think.
- 2:32Speaker 3: That I will give it to man.
- 2:37Speaker 1: I feel like I feel like I gotta be right.
- 2:40Speaker 2: I think so yeah, give it as far as like
- 2:42Speaker 2: in a row. Yeah, especially starting with one.
- 2:45Speaker 1: Who else can even can we think that it's.
- 2:47Speaker 3: Like five classes?
- 2:49Speaker 2: You know, that's my favorite rapper all time. He don't
- 2:52Speaker 2: got five classes.
- 2:54Speaker 1: I mean the new ones came close, like.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Two Magics and the three b.
- 3:02Speaker 5: Here I go, Bro, know I love that comeback that
- 3:06Speaker 5: now's deal with those bro Kings diseased Bro, I was
- 3:08Speaker 5: bumping that yo.
- 3:09Speaker 2: That that late run from Nas is Lebron and the Lakers.
- 3:14Speaker 3: Bro.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Yeah, you know what I mean, Like.
- 3:16Speaker 2: That's when he's like, damn, he's still doing this. How
- 3:18Speaker 2: how is this even possible? That's King's disease and magic seriously, seriously.
- 3:23Speaker 5: And with music is like the difference too, is like, well,
- 3:27Speaker 5: with basketball, you're seeing, Okay, Lebron's declining a little bit
- 3:30Speaker 5: because of his age, but Nas is almost like he's
- 3:33Speaker 5: getting better with fat Bro.
- 3:36Speaker 3: You said Lebron's declining.
- 3:40Speaker 5: I mean it's just part of you know, it's part
- 3:41Speaker 5: of the way around it a little by little because
- 3:46Speaker 5: of the age. No, I mean, he's still one of
- 3:49Speaker 5: the greatest of all times. Don't get me wrong.
- 3:52Speaker 1: It's nobody like Bron.
- 3:53Speaker 4: Nobody man Bron.
- 3:58Speaker 3: Bro.
- 4:02Speaker 4: It's Okay, wrong, I appreciate, I appreciate the insight my
- 4:07Speaker 4: dog job forever. Yeah, not at all, but I understood.
- 4:15Speaker 4: And that's why I used to tell these guys all
- 4:17Speaker 4: the time, like, you know, I from Queens, from mill Herbs.
- 4:21Speaker 4: I grew up a NAS fan.
- 4:23Speaker 3: Wow. But after Ether Bro shut Queens, shout.
- 4:26Speaker 4: Out Queens, mets, let's go mat But after ether I
- 4:34Speaker 4: made my transition, and I was also my favorite number
- 4:39Speaker 4: is twenty three, and it wasn't because of Lebron, it
- 4:42Speaker 4: was because of Jordan's. So there was a shift between
- 4:46Speaker 4: NAS and j and Jordan and Lebron.
- 4:51Speaker 2: That don't makes sense to know, but yeah.
- 4:55Speaker 3: I'm a little tit. That's fine though, that's fine, though,
- 4:57Speaker 3: that's fine, but no, no, no, get back and getting back
- 5:01Speaker 3: to the artistry of everything.
- 5:03Speaker 2: Oh yeah, So I wanted to kind of tie that
- 5:05Speaker 2: in a little bit. I don't know if y'all been
- 5:07Speaker 2: keeping up with any wrestling stuff, but WrestleMania is this weekend, right,
- 5:11Speaker 2: one of the major following man.
- 5:13Speaker 1: I used to heavy Bro, I'm not I followed it
- 5:16Speaker 1: for like so.
- 5:17Speaker 2: Right now, like the big matches, seeing Punk and Roman reigns. Right,
- 5:21Speaker 2: so you got like the best guy from like the
- 5:25Speaker 2: twenty tens versus like the best guy from the twenty twenty.
- 5:28Speaker 3: And he's never got a main event.
- 5:31Speaker 2: Well last for he did last year he did.
- 5:32Speaker 4: No, That's what I mean, like they're finally getting finally rightmm.
- 5:38Speaker 1: Yeah, he had thought he was a champion before.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Yeah, so like the thing we're seeing punk is like
- 5:42Speaker 2: he was there, he was the champion and everything, but
- 5:45Speaker 2: then he had a falling out with Vince McMahon and
- 5:47Speaker 2: he left. He left for ten years.
- 5:49Speaker 4: Bro went tow he went to Await.
- 5:53Speaker 1: Later, Vince McMahon is a different beast.
- 5:55Speaker 3: Bro Bro that man back.
- 5:58Speaker 2: But yeah, like the story between them too. Right now
- 6:00Speaker 2: is this which I think ties in perfectly to what
- 6:03Speaker 2: we talk about. So Roman reigns. He comes from like
- 6:06Speaker 2: a lineage of wrestlers. He's Samoan, you know what I'm saying.
- 6:09Speaker 2: So the Rocks, the Simonans, NWW pretty much were like
- 6:14Speaker 2: his uncles.
- 6:16Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. How long did he go undefeated?
- 6:20Speaker 1: Did he just have like a crazy.
- 6:21Speaker 2: Yea, he was like the champion for like a thousand
- 6:23Speaker 2: some day, like almost twelve hundred days or something like that.
- 6:26Speaker 2: Like it was crazy.
- 6:27Speaker 1: It's like almost three years, right, And.
- 6:31Speaker 2: That's kind of part of the story where like he
- 6:33Speaker 2: his thing is like I was built for this, Like
- 6:36Speaker 2: my family going back four or five generations been doing this.
- 6:39Speaker 2: This is me and seeing Punk is like I was
- 6:42Speaker 2: never chosen for this. I was always the outcast, but
- 6:45Speaker 2: the people chose me, so like recently, the story behind
- 6:49Speaker 2: what they're doing is basically like Roman Reigns is like
- 6:52Speaker 2: I hate you because no matter, no matter how much
- 6:55Speaker 2: like I've gotten stuff handed to me, I don't have
- 6:58Speaker 2: the people on my side like you, dude. And then
- 7:01Speaker 2: seeing Punk looks at him like, I hate you because
- 7:05Speaker 2: I've never had the opportunities and I've never had the
- 7:08Speaker 2: chances that you.
- 7:09Speaker 3: Had the privilege.
- 7:10Speaker 2: I would have loved to be born into wrestling, and
- 7:12Speaker 2: my dad's a wrestler and my grandpa's a wrestler, so
- 7:15Speaker 2: like they brought that into it, and it kind of
- 7:18Speaker 2: ties into that thing, and I kind of think like
- 7:20Speaker 2: it's one of those things with Drake and Kanye too,
- 7:22Speaker 2: where like Drake knows he's also like kind of part
- 7:26Speaker 2: of a machine, and he knows that Kanye don't need
- 7:29Speaker 2: that machine, and that's kind of the thing where like
- 7:31Speaker 2: Drake knows he's the biggest one, but at the same
- 7:34Speaker 2: time he knows I don't got the people like Kanye
- 7:37Speaker 2: got the people though, who.
- 7:40Speaker 5: Wow, Like if Drake goes independent, I feel like the
- 7:43Speaker 5: whole game shatters.
- 7:45Speaker 3: I think.
- 7:45Speaker 1: So I feel like universal.
- 7:47Speaker 4: I feel like universal like and this is not a
- 7:49Speaker 4: Drake fan over here, I'll tell you right now.
- 7:52Speaker 5: I feel like the label game because he's he's still
- 7:57Speaker 5: one of those artists that like got a good deal.
- 8:01Speaker 5: And that was like an angle that like Kendrick really
- 8:03Speaker 5: hit him with that, like even Rass hit him with
- 8:05Speaker 5: and everybody was hitting him with. Is that like you're
- 8:08Speaker 5: really a high paid worker, but you do bring out
- 8:12Speaker 5: the hits. And that was and Kanye said it in
- 8:13Speaker 5: the interview before, it's like the guy figured out this
- 8:15Speaker 5: method with Yeah, so he hit so many quality hits
- 8:18Speaker 5: it's almost like yo. And then you know, it came
- 8:20Speaker 5: to that time when Kanye was going through the ran
- 8:22Speaker 5: and he canceled the tour. He was calling out Kalid
- 8:25Speaker 5: because he started to see how like they were pushing
- 8:28Speaker 5: the method, which later we found out that yeah, like
- 8:31Speaker 5: labels do boost the streams. It probably had a little
- 8:35Speaker 5: something on the ads running the ads but also boosting
- 8:38Speaker 5: the streams, And I think that was something major that
- 8:40Speaker 5: was exposed with the Kendrick and Drake situation, like, oh yeah,
- 8:43Speaker 5: we knew that.
- 8:43Speaker 2: The funny thing to me about that too, is like,
- 8:46Speaker 2: I don't understand how people didn't think these guys are
- 8:49Speaker 2: getting million dollar advances. You don't think they're trying to
- 8:52Speaker 2: recoup this money of course, Like I mean, I mean, yeah,
- 8:57Speaker 2: as a business at the end of the day.
- 8:59Speaker 4: Yeah, So you in a position as an artist you
- 9:01Speaker 4: are today, would you not take.
- 9:03Speaker 3: The same steps?
- 9:05Speaker 1: What do you mean, like what steps if.
- 9:07Speaker 3: You're in that position and you know they're gonna do
- 9:10Speaker 3: that for you.
- 9:11Speaker 5: Yeah, you allow that, right, Like the label, Like if
- 9:15Speaker 5: I'm in a position where they're gonna give me some bread, yeah,
- 9:18Speaker 5: I mean, it just has to for me. Like I
- 9:21Speaker 5: feel like the best situations that I've seen would a
- 9:24Speaker 5: label have been a partnership so I would look like,
- 9:30Speaker 5: I know that our intellectual property is really what's what's
- 9:33Speaker 5: valu right, so our music and stuff like that, and
- 9:35Speaker 5: a lot of the times, hey, if they cut you
- 9:38Speaker 5: a good deal, just know, like you said, it's a
- 9:41Speaker 5: high interest loan. At the same time, but if you
- 9:44Speaker 5: are a talented artist. And another really important thing is
- 9:48Speaker 5: like if you can emotionally handle the game, bro that
- 9:52Speaker 5: you feel me like, I feel like that's how you
- 9:55Speaker 5: can continue and succeed in how much.
- 9:57Speaker 3: Of yourself can you give up for the bread? My question? Yes,
- 10:02Speaker 3: it's my question. I think that's what a lot of
- 10:04Speaker 3: artists deal with.
- 10:05Speaker 2: Something I learned a while ago that I always carry
- 10:09Speaker 2: with me with the music stuff is like whatever is
- 10:12Speaker 2: going to get you to the dance, that's what you want.
- 10:16Speaker 2: So you got to be very mindful of what you're
- 10:18Speaker 2: trying as far as like trying to make something stick
- 10:21Speaker 2: because it might stick, and if it sticks, is that
- 10:25Speaker 2: what you on? Like is that what you're trying to
- 10:27Speaker 2: be on? Because like usually whatever that first one is,
- 10:30Speaker 2: that's where they put you. And that was something where
- 10:32Speaker 2: I was like, Dann, that's true, Like that thing of
- 10:35Speaker 2: like when you create a certain kind of art, it
- 10:37Speaker 2: might hit and if it hits a lot of times,
- 10:40Speaker 2: that's where they're going to pigeonhole you. So you got
- 10:42Speaker 2: to know like, Okay, I'm trying stuff, but the stuff
- 10:45Speaker 2: I'm trying has to be stuff that's still aligned with
- 10:47Speaker 2: me as a person type of stuff that.
- 10:49Speaker 4: So that's what I was getting into that. One thing
- 10:52Speaker 4: I appreciate about appreciate about you and the music you
- 10:55Speaker 4: create is that you don't change music you're creating.
- 11:01Speaker 3: You get better at it.
- 11:03Speaker 4: But you're not trying to tailor it to an audience
- 11:06Speaker 4: that's going to accept it. Like, no, this is the
- 11:08Speaker 4: kind of R and B I make, and I'm gonna
- 11:11Speaker 4: be better at making it. And I'm seeing you get
- 11:15Speaker 4: better at making the R and B that you make,
- 11:17Speaker 4: And that's what I appreciate that about it.
- 11:19Speaker 2: I appreciate that. But it's funny, man, because like people
- 11:22Speaker 2: people don't be understanding that, Like, not everybody wants to
- 11:26Speaker 2: be the you know, not everybody wants to be Bad Bundy.
- 11:29Speaker 2: Oh yeah, every artist is not like yo, I want
- 11:32Speaker 2: to be Bad Bundy doing all like with that you're doing,
- 11:36Speaker 2: you're doing your art a different way, And I'm not
- 11:38Speaker 2: saying it's bad. I'm just saying some people don't want
- 11:41Speaker 2: to do.
- 11:42Speaker 3: Their art that way.
- 11:43Speaker 2: I feel like when we've talked about on the podcast before,
- 11:45Speaker 2: bro Currency he got a great quote about it. He's like,
- 11:49Speaker 2: I could buy whatever car I want, but I can
- 11:51Speaker 2: also go to the grocery store and bro if you
- 11:54Speaker 2: can love that as an artist dog Like, I feel
- 11:56Speaker 2: like that's the big win right there, when you don't
- 11:59Speaker 2: need for nothing, but you also can still live your life.
- 12:02Speaker 3: I don't see it as you what's your approach with it.
- 12:04Speaker 5: I mean I love that because I see myself in
- 12:08Speaker 5: a sense where it's like I've gained a level of
- 12:11Speaker 5: success and like I'm well known, but I'm still like
- 12:14Speaker 5: within the community of my city, Like I can still
- 12:16Speaker 5: step outside and it's not like I can't go places,
- 12:19Speaker 5: but I'm recognizing certain places, which is dope, but I
- 12:23Speaker 5: see how that can It's like there's so many highs
- 12:25Speaker 5: and lows in the game. Like there's times where people
- 12:28Speaker 5: really love you when you really popping or you got
- 12:30Speaker 5: a song that's going or whatever, and then there's other
- 12:32Speaker 5: times where you just have to survive or like kind
- 12:35Speaker 5: of be able to manage the fact that people might
- 12:37Speaker 5: not care.
- 12:37Speaker 1: About what you're doing at a certain point in time.
- 12:39Speaker 5: But if you find peace in that, that's where the
- 12:43Speaker 5: key is it, because you should find a piece in
- 12:46Speaker 5: the fact that the attention shouldn't always be like I
- 12:48Speaker 5: don't want the attention on me twenty four to seven,
- 12:50Speaker 5: Like if I'm having a show, I'm having a performance,
- 12:53Speaker 5: I have a pop up shop, like, okay, cool.
- 12:55Speaker 1: Once God speak.
- 12:56Speaker 5: Through me, it's my time to either you know, praise
- 12:58Speaker 5: the word or say whatever God want me to say.
- 13:00Speaker 5: And that's how I view artistry, Like it's a call
- 13:03Speaker 5: and it's a purpose and it's after that, I'm still
- 13:06Speaker 5: the same person when I like when I get off
- 13:08Speaker 5: the mic, right, But there's something that when you're out
- 13:12Speaker 5: you kind of got to turn on, which is like
- 13:14Speaker 5: the armor and the shield because now you're in the
- 13:16Speaker 5: world and now it's like spiritual war.
- 13:18Speaker 4: And I tell them saying the same thing though. So,
- 13:20Speaker 4: like I told you, I used to DJ before, I'm
- 13:24Speaker 4: starting to DJ back again. Yeah, and I'm always nervous
- 13:27Speaker 4: until i'm there, and then once I'm doing it, I
- 13:30Speaker 4: was like, this is easy.
- 13:31Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly, it's easy. You always get that.
- 13:33Speaker 3: You know what I mean.
- 13:34Speaker 4: But seeing you in your element is crazy, bro. Like
- 13:40Speaker 4: the way you could just flow and the mersed best
- 13:45Speaker 4: and just freestyle and keep the energy going. Uh, it
- 13:50Speaker 4: just looks so natural. It's not rehearsed, it's natural. And
- 13:54Speaker 4: that's that's that that's kind of what you're speaking to it's.
- 13:57Speaker 3: Just like yeah, like that, you know it was built
- 13:59Speaker 3: for this, this is this just comes natural to me. Yeah,
- 14:02Speaker 3: it comes out.
- 14:03Speaker 1: Yeah, that give you know.
- 14:04Speaker 4: You don't practice it, you don't need to rehearse, you
- 14:06Speaker 4: don't need to You just get up there and just
- 14:08Speaker 4: do your things, right dude.
- 14:10Speaker 5: Yeah, especially in those sets because I have different different
- 14:12Speaker 5: kind of sets, Like I've had show.
- 14:14Speaker 3: Does that work? I want to hear that?
- 14:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:16Speaker 5: So it's like there's different ways that I've done my
- 14:20Speaker 5: event in my sets. A lot of the times, like
- 14:22Speaker 5: if I've been booked for an event, like for a platform,
- 14:26Speaker 5: that's like, hey, I have I booked five artists?
- 14:28Speaker 1: You wanted the artists?
- 14:29Speaker 3: Right?
- 14:29Speaker 5: Then I will work on a set, right, So I
- 14:31Speaker 5: would take some of the best songs that I feel like, Okay,
- 14:35Speaker 5: my core audience really loves from whatever the last couple
- 14:38Speaker 5: of years, my last project. So that's one way, and
- 14:41Speaker 5: then I'll set up.
- 14:42Speaker 1: Oh.
- 14:43Speaker 5: I did like one which was my headline show like
- 14:45Speaker 5: in twenty twenty one. This was like vib King and Friends,
- 14:48Speaker 5: and I just went like two, like maybe two and
- 14:51Speaker 5: a half hours performing and bringing up all my friends.
- 14:54Speaker 5: Like that was one of those things where it was
- 14:56Speaker 5: like all right, we're going through the classics. We're going
- 14:58Speaker 5: through so this is like really intimate the people that's
- 15:00Speaker 5: been following me. And then I have the me and
- 15:04Speaker 5: Diesel the combination, which is the E d M hip
- 15:06Speaker 5: hop slash freestyle.
- 15:08Speaker 1: And then and then it's like with my boy Nico
- 15:14Speaker 1: too and we do shows.
- 15:15Speaker 5: He's very like freestyle vibes too, Like he really you know,
- 15:20Speaker 5: a lot of people that I work with.
- 15:21Speaker 1: Inspire me as far as like freestyle goals.
- 15:24Speaker 5: Because when I get in the lab and we've been
- 15:26Speaker 5: freestyling doing songs, like it really sharpens the sword. And
- 15:30Speaker 5: my boy Nico shout out to him. He was one
- 15:32Speaker 5: of the you know, the first dudes to bring me
- 15:34Speaker 5: on a full tour and like kind of just show
- 15:38Speaker 5: me how it works in a sense, like Yo, we're
- 15:41Speaker 5: going to improvise here, We're going to improvise there, Like
- 15:43Speaker 5: improvise when it's organic for the crowd, you know.
- 15:48Speaker 3: So like it's all crowd driven, yeah.
- 15:49Speaker 1: Honestly, Like yeah, it really all is.
- 15:52Speaker 2: Though.
- 15:52Speaker 5: That's why freestyle works a lot when it comes to
- 15:56Speaker 5: live crowds for real, because when you can feel the
- 15:58Speaker 5: temperature of the crowd, like a lot of the times
- 16:00Speaker 5: you have a set ready and you're like, Yo, this
- 16:02Speaker 5: is gonna go right, and then it's like you start
- 16:06Speaker 5: you know, you've been looking at people, You're like, Okay,
- 16:08Speaker 5: maybe I just went because you have to build it
- 16:11Speaker 5: and music is a story, so you have to.
- 16:17Speaker 2: At the event, you was like feeling the vibe about
- 16:20Speaker 2: kind of flowing with the Knight and then bro, you built.
- 16:22Speaker 4: That thing hold on changing real quick changing.
- 16:28Speaker 5: So I love how that we did, like you were
- 16:31Speaker 5: it was like I was freestyling. You was like freestyling
- 16:33Speaker 5: with it, like your sound still was kept applying And
- 16:36Speaker 5: I love that. And I see that you do some
- 16:38Speaker 5: of that too, Like with your music, do you like
- 16:41Speaker 5: do you write mostly or do you like give you
- 16:43Speaker 5: a freestyle.
- 16:43Speaker 2: Really cook up like a lot of different ways. Like
- 16:47Speaker 2: my thing was like just recording and recording and getting
- 16:51Speaker 2: like my mind right when it came with like going
- 16:54Speaker 2: to the studio. So like sometimes I'll write something and
- 16:57Speaker 2: I'll have it like in mind for like like for example,
- 17:01Speaker 2: right now I got a session lined up where I
- 17:03Speaker 2: have a song that I've been working on for like
- 17:05Speaker 2: five years that I'm finally gonna.
- 17:07Speaker 1: Like That's the thing about this that's one of the one.
- 17:11Speaker 4: When he sends me songs and I said, I fucking
- 17:14Speaker 4: love this song.
- 17:15Speaker 3: He will not drop it for like five years. He
- 17:19Speaker 3: like the best songs that I think he has. He doesn't,
- 17:21Speaker 3: he doesn't.
- 17:22Speaker 2: But it's one of it's like I was telling him, like,
- 17:24Speaker 2: and I know you're gonna appreciate this, Like as an artist, bro,
- 17:28Speaker 2: you want to give that song the best chance possible.
- 17:31Speaker 2: And there's certain times when you know is not the time,
- 17:34Speaker 2: Like if I drop this right now, it's just gonna
- 17:38Speaker 2: be okay. The people that are tapped in, they're gonna
- 17:40Speaker 2: like it and that's it. But if I drop it,
- 17:43Speaker 2: you know, when I have a bigger budget for it,
- 17:46Speaker 2: when I have a better idea for how I want
- 17:48Speaker 2: to execute it, Yeah, that thing might go from you know,
- 17:52Speaker 2: ten thousand plays to one hundred thousand plays. So it's
- 17:56Speaker 2: like making everything kind of fit in the calendar of
- 17:58Speaker 2: what you got going on musically, especially like I got
- 18:00Speaker 2: a big catalog, so I got like a lot of
- 18:02Speaker 2: music that goes and there's different like there's different little
- 18:05Speaker 2: sections of it. Like I got some stuff that I'm
- 18:08Speaker 2: adele to do to Mexico shout out to Makul where
- 18:11Speaker 2: it's like like like a little four pack of like
- 18:13Speaker 2: Spanish joints, and that just gave me like a like
- 18:17Speaker 2: a pocket of people in like Mexico, Argentina, Chile that
- 18:20Speaker 2: messed with me. Because of that, I did them songs
- 18:24Speaker 2: with that dude. One of them got on a Spotify
- 18:27Speaker 2: playlist in Mexico call it's like the pop it throng.
- 18:31Speaker 2: It's like popping reggae thong. They had like some some
- 18:35Speaker 2: urban Spanish playlists out there, and it was on that playlist,
- 18:38Speaker 2: and from that I got mad fans. So it's like
- 18:41Speaker 2: sometimes you make that kind of So going back to
- 18:44Speaker 2: what you were asking with the music, I got a
- 18:46Speaker 2: song I've been working on forever. I got another song
- 18:49Speaker 2: that I'm going to just go and I have to
- 18:50Speaker 2: beat and I kind of just have the idea in
- 18:52Speaker 2: my head and I'm going to freestyle it. Then I
- 18:54Speaker 2: have another song where I just have the lyrics and
- 18:57Speaker 2: I'm still trying to build an instrumental around it. So
- 19:00Speaker 2: it's like I don't approach the music the same way
- 19:03Speaker 2: every time, because I feel like that's even kind of
- 19:05Speaker 2: limiting the potential.
- 19:06Speaker 1: What you're doing.
- 19:06Speaker 5: Of course, you know what I mean, there's so many
- 19:08Speaker 5: different ways, bro, and I think, Bro, it's so like
- 19:11Speaker 5: that topic is so crazy because trust me, like I
- 19:13Speaker 5: have a friend just like you like that.
- 19:15Speaker 1: It's like, bro, why haven't you dropped this? Bro?
- 19:17Speaker 5: You got this when you're gonna drop this? I'm telling you,
- 19:19Speaker 5: Like every artist has that friend. And honestly, bro, it's
- 19:22Speaker 5: like there really is two sides to that. Like a
- 19:25Speaker 5: part of it is true is like as an artist,
- 19:28Speaker 5: you kind of want to find like the perfect time
- 19:30Speaker 5: and to drop things. But it's like on the other side,
- 19:34Speaker 5: it's like it never it almost never really comes and
- 19:36Speaker 5: then and then this song may like kind of pass,
- 19:40Speaker 5: like here's here's what happened with me, like with certain songs, right,
- 19:44Speaker 5: which is why, like I'm also so intentional about my
- 19:46Speaker 5: time and who I work with and who I record
- 19:48Speaker 5: music with, because I do have a lot of songs
- 19:50Speaker 5: that I recorded with people that never came out because
- 19:53Speaker 5: you know, maybe we didn't see how to eye on something,
- 19:55Speaker 5: or maybe we you know, maybe the paper wasn't right
- 19:58Speaker 5: or the vision was a ride of people change their mind.
- 20:00Speaker 5: But like I'm always like I'm oh, like I'm always
- 20:05Speaker 5: remembering kind of like how kind of like how I
- 20:11Speaker 5: started with like with the music and remembering maybe like
- 20:15Speaker 5: why I should have dropped a song when I was
- 20:17Speaker 5: really going through that situation.
- 20:19Speaker 1: Oh yeah, you know what I'm saying.
- 20:22Speaker 5: Like, so, so just on the other token, it's like, yes,
- 20:25Speaker 5: there were certain songs that I waited a little bit
- 20:26Speaker 5: and was like, Okay, this is the timing because now
- 20:29Speaker 5: I build some more and even now like that I
- 20:31Speaker 5: have an audience, I'm like, yo, I should be dropping
- 20:34Speaker 5: more because people are actually tapped in, people are actually listening, right,
- 20:38Speaker 5: And so as the fan base grows, and you kind
- 20:41Speaker 5: of tend to overthink more because you're like, oh well,
- 20:43Speaker 5: let me let this ride a little bit or whatever.
- 20:45Speaker 1: Like there's many things I could have done.
- 20:46Speaker 5: Like when the Seven was out and with the seven remix,
- 20:49Speaker 5: and you know, in the same way other people could
- 20:51Speaker 5: have done with certain remixes I hopped on. But I
- 20:54Speaker 5: think the key really is saving those for that those
- 20:57Speaker 5: moments and then still having.
- 20:59Speaker 4: Those all right, So let me ask you all this, Yeah,
- 21:02Speaker 4: is that selfish?
- 21:04Speaker 2: I think it's one of those things selfish.
- 21:06Speaker 3: For y'allah if y'all not in that moment to drop
- 21:09Speaker 3: that song, because y'all don't feel the same way you
- 21:11Speaker 3: felt when you wrote it and recorded it. Is that
- 21:14Speaker 3: selfish for the fan base? Yeah?
- 21:17Speaker 5: And I mean in a sense because music is music
- 21:20Speaker 5: could be very like self centered, but it's really meant
- 21:23Speaker 5: to serve others, because like to me, it's like music
- 21:26Speaker 5: was really started like glory to glorify God. That was
- 21:29Speaker 5: like the first original goal to to to really even
- 21:33Speaker 5: make music. So I think that in a sense, it's
- 21:35Speaker 5: like give it to really the people pick. I think
- 21:39Speaker 5: we got like also because we're self conscious about art
- 21:42Speaker 5: and everything, we're like, damn, like I want.
- 21:44Speaker 1: To pick this one, and this was going to go
- 21:45Speaker 1: like this.
- 21:46Speaker 5: But genuinely, the more we drop, the more people get
- 21:49Speaker 5: to pick, and then it becomes like, yea, you know what,
- 21:51Speaker 5: let me serve my fan base by staying consistent in
- 21:54Speaker 5: that matter, which which is super hard.
- 21:56Speaker 4: Are you being selfish because you don't think it's the
- 21:59Speaker 4: right time because you don't want it to drop, but
- 22:03Speaker 4: it could be a banger for your fan base?
- 22:05Speaker 3: Is that a selfish thing? As a artists, it could go.
- 22:08Speaker 2: It's one of those things where like, especially when when
- 22:11Speaker 2: you're doing so much music and still dropping a lot
- 22:13Speaker 2: of music, you kind of just time. It like I
- 22:17Speaker 2: just dropped like ten songs in the last like six
- 22:21Speaker 2: months or so. Yeah, month, But they're like joints that
- 22:25Speaker 2: I had lined up already that are going to drop there,
- 22:28Speaker 2: but you chose to drop.
- 22:30Speaker 5: No.
- 22:30Speaker 4: In fact, I always always I'm not being combative, you
- 22:35Speaker 4: know what I'm saying.
- 22:35Speaker 2: So my process always added to you know what I mean.
- 22:39Speaker 2: But like my music is one of those things where
- 22:41Speaker 2: like you get to a point where you already kind
- 22:43Speaker 2: of like know your sound. So like even when I
- 22:46Speaker 2: start like letting people hear stuff, like I'm not even
- 22:50Speaker 2: letting you really hear it to like get approval. Just
- 22:55Speaker 2: got to this point.
- 22:57Speaker 3: Let me know what that selfish?
- 22:58Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 23:00Speaker 5: It definitely, But like I said, there's it's a double
- 23:05Speaker 5: sided blade, because.
- 23:08Speaker 3: That's what it is.
- 23:09Speaker 4: It's like I'm going to give you this first. It's
- 23:11Speaker 4: like I'm gonna give you my ship after this.
- 23:14Speaker 3: That's it. That's it.
- 23:15Speaker 2: Yeah. No, My thing is like there's certain songs that
- 23:19Speaker 2: you know are the ones, and it's like I hear
- 23:24Speaker 2: and it's like somebody that that's not really like tapped
- 23:27Speaker 2: into what the music side of it is. Like just
- 23:30Speaker 2: the fact of like sometimes you didn't even record that
- 23:32Speaker 2: in a place where that's like the version that you're
- 23:34Speaker 2: gonna go with. But when you let somebody hear it,
- 23:38Speaker 2: they don't hear that. They don't hear that this this
- 23:41Speaker 2: is not ready. I'll be showing my wife's songs bro
- 23:44Speaker 2: like from beginning to end, and it sounds the same
- 23:46Speaker 2: to her, like the rough draft I did to the
- 23:49Speaker 2: last one that got mixed. She don't know no difference,
- 23:52Speaker 2: Like this sounds exactly the same.
- 23:53Speaker 3: I did this under the kitchen cupboard on my cell phone.
- 23:56Speaker 2: Yeah, one of them sounds like I'm talking to you
- 23:59Speaker 2: on a call of duty, and the other one it
- 24:01Speaker 2: sounds so luxurious, and you can't tell the difference between
- 24:05Speaker 2: one of them. Know, it's insane.
- 24:06Speaker 5: I feel like I love that about like hip hop
- 24:08Speaker 5: music too. It's like you still want something that's good quality.
- 24:12Speaker 5: But a lot of the times, as far as like
- 24:14Speaker 5: how the quality is could be subjective because we listen
- 24:17Speaker 5: to things so much deeper as artists, Like we hear
- 24:19Speaker 5: things like really in depth and really like you said,
- 24:22Speaker 5: people are not really hearing all of that. Only people
- 24:24Speaker 5: that are really attuned to music and are producing and
- 24:27Speaker 5: stuff like that.
- 24:27Speaker 1: They'll hear that, but it's I think it's been so dope.
- 24:31Speaker 5: How now you're able to do that and cultivate a
- 24:34Speaker 5: sound and and you know people have been doing it
- 24:37Speaker 5: for real, Like I remember like having getting the headset
- 24:39Speaker 5: mic from Walmart.
- 24:41Speaker 1: You know what I mean, like starting like that the
- 24:43Speaker 1: computer edit pro.
- 24:44Speaker 5: You know what I'm saying back in it, like you know,
- 24:47Speaker 5: you had little pantyholes like a pop filter, and.
- 24:52Speaker 4: Like I said, like I've never I have some songs
- 24:56Speaker 4: that I will never play to the public, but I
- 25:00Speaker 4: have always. I did my senior project on music production
- 25:04Speaker 4: of Valencia. I created mo own be I created my
- 25:06Speaker 4: own song. So I'm in tune with what it is.
- 25:10Speaker 4: I just never became an artist myself. But when I
- 25:14Speaker 4: listen to music, I like, I listened to it like deeply.
- 25:18Speaker 4: And that that's why when I hear things in it,
- 25:21Speaker 4: like you say yourself, like sometimes they hear those like
- 25:23Speaker 4: was that mixed?
- 25:25Speaker 3: I was like, what's that? What's that? That's it? I
- 25:28Speaker 3: don't that don't sound right? Okay, But I love music.
- 25:32Speaker 4: There's a thing about music that if you give it all,
- 25:36Speaker 4: I know you do, and I know you do, and
- 25:37Speaker 4: that's why I appreciate about this conversation. It's like, when
- 25:41Speaker 4: you invest into the sound, it makes people feel and
- 25:46Speaker 4: that's what I appreciate about music most. Man.
- 25:48Speaker 3: I appreciate both of y'all. Right here, we had this conversation.
- 25:51Speaker 1: Man, yeah, Bro, that's lit.
- 25:53Speaker 5: And as an artist, bro, like that's why it's like,
- 25:56Speaker 5: like we were talking earlier outside, it's like, that's why
- 25:57Speaker 5: you got to stand on business too, because it's like, yep,
- 26:00Speaker 5: everything calls so much, bro, and we put so much
- 26:04Speaker 5: into it.
- 26:04Speaker 2: That's part of the thing about dropping music that people
- 26:07Speaker 2: don't think about their costs behind it, you know what I'm.
- 26:10Speaker 1: Saying every single and.
- 26:11Speaker 2: That's where I say, like certain songs, you got to
- 26:13Speaker 2: make sure they get their just due because if you
- 26:15Speaker 2: just drop it in a win, it's not gonna do nothing.
- 26:18Speaker 2: The people that are tapped in are gonna hear it,
- 26:20Speaker 2: and that's pretty much it.
- 26:21Speaker 1: That's a fact.
- 26:21Speaker 2: But if you got a budget behind that song where
- 26:24Speaker 2: you're pushing it to people not body, which is another
- 26:28Speaker 2: thing we talked about too, which is another reason why
- 26:30Speaker 2: we wanted to have them on, is because you got
- 26:33Speaker 2: a lot of artists that look a certain way when
- 26:35Speaker 2: you see them online. But they're not making a dollar
- 26:38Speaker 2: from their streams because they're body streams. Because it's a difference.
- 26:42Speaker 2: You're not making no money off your streams if they
- 26:44Speaker 2: bought it. And I know both sides because my early
- 26:47Speaker 2: music was body bruh. I was working with somebody supposedly
- 26:55Speaker 2: was legit with the playlist and everything like that.
- 26:58Speaker 1: I hate those cameras. A bunch of music.
- 27:00Speaker 2: Wipe from Spotify.
- 27:02Speaker 3: Bro.
- 27:02Speaker 2: I had to start with scratch Bro, like in twenty
- 27:04Speaker 2: sixteen around there, BRO and I had to like redo
- 27:07Speaker 2: my whole freaking catalog and Bro, it was the worst.
- 27:10Speaker 2: But that taught me, like everybody ain't doing good business
- 27:14Speaker 2: one and two there's a real way to do this
- 27:17Speaker 2: where it's worth more. Yeah, because you're actually connecting with
- 27:20Speaker 2: people that are going to keep listening. You're building like
- 27:23Speaker 2: super listeners. You're building people that are gonna tap in
- 27:26Speaker 2: every time you release because they're like, oh, they're looking
- 27:28Speaker 2: for you, they're asking you, you know what I mean.
- 27:30Speaker 2: That's different than you just saying, oh, I'm gonna pay
- 27:34Speaker 2: this much money to get my song to a million
- 27:36Speaker 2: plays so I can put in my story and say,
- 27:38Speaker 2: oh I got a billion place.
- 27:40Speaker 3: Yeah, that doesn't what you got coming up creative van no.
- 27:44Speaker 2: Real quick, because that's that's something I wanted to touch
- 27:47Speaker 2: on with this. Hey yo, is that's what's dope about
- 27:52Speaker 2: you that you drop music, but then you can also
- 27:55Speaker 2: put on the show and have people out there supporting
- 27:57Speaker 2: rocking with them that a lot of people can't do
- 28:00Speaker 2: the same thing, you know what I mean a lot
- 28:01Speaker 2: of people. It looks nice online they doing X, Y
- 28:05Speaker 2: and Z, but when they're outside it's crickets.
- 28:09Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, bro, you really got to put in the groundwork.
- 28:12Speaker 5: Like I think that that part of the game is
- 28:15Speaker 5: almost like inescapable, bro.
- 28:17Speaker 1: I mean, if you really.
- 28:18Speaker 5: Want like a real and there have there has been
- 28:22Speaker 5: a lot of frustrating times that like I've I've had
- 28:24Speaker 5: events or I've had shows where maybe the turnout wasn't
- 28:27Speaker 5: the best, But you got to learn how to live
- 28:29Speaker 5: through the lows to really get through the highs where
- 28:31Speaker 5: now it's like okay, you could post something that you
- 28:34Speaker 5: could you know, I have a group I have the
- 28:36Speaker 5: Creative Community, Like on my Instagram it's like three hundred
- 28:40Speaker 5: and yeah, so it's like just posting things in there,
- 28:44Speaker 5: having like I bet I'll see you there and then
- 28:46Speaker 5: I realized too. It's like at a point in time,
- 28:48Speaker 5: I knew that like not everybody would show up at
- 28:51Speaker 5: the same time if it was like a smaller event.
- 28:54Speaker 1: So I really.
- 28:55Speaker 5: Appreciate even if it's five, ten, fifteen people, bro, that
- 28:59Speaker 5: that take the effort to come out. And I think
- 29:02Speaker 5: that artists need to do more of that as well,
- 29:04Speaker 5: because like, and I see people starting like they started
- 29:07Speaker 5: on an entitled level. It's like, bro, the reason I
- 29:10Speaker 5: got to stand on business is because I've.
- 29:11Speaker 1: Been doing this for for ten years. You feel me.
- 29:14Speaker 2: Like, like a couple events a week, five to fifteen
- 29:18Speaker 2: people over the post six months, years, two years broke
- 29:24Speaker 2: and you can't build that unless you outside.
- 29:26Speaker 5: You got to have a balance because I mean the
- 29:28Speaker 5: Internet is the most powerful too, obviously, like that, that's
- 29:30Speaker 5: like the A and R.
- 29:31Speaker 1: So you could win all around.
- 29:33Speaker 3: There's no getting around using that.
- 29:35Speaker 1: Yeah, definitely, like you could.
- 29:37Speaker 5: And there's people that's making plenty of money and plenty
- 29:39Speaker 5: of cake all of that. It's just like you said,
- 29:42Speaker 5: certain people didn't know how to translate it to money
- 29:44Speaker 5: because cloud really became a currency. Fame really became a
- 29:50Speaker 5: thing that people saw as a transfer of money. But
- 29:53Speaker 5: it really And that's how I look at money too,
- 29:55Speaker 5: is like it's a it's what I bring to the
- 29:58Speaker 5: table as a value that brings me money to me.
- 30:00Speaker 5: Like once I started thinking like that more about money,
- 30:03Speaker 5: like that, God always provides things change in my mind.
- 30:07Speaker 5: Because the music industry, and when you're an artist, bro,
- 30:10Speaker 5: you get into such a dark industry that you almost
- 30:14Speaker 5: got to like feel like you gotta finesse something to
- 30:17Speaker 5: not be finished.
- 30:18Speaker 4: We talked about that, you know what I'm saying, That shit, bro,
- 30:20Speaker 4: like you can't sell yourself.
- 30:21Speaker 5: You can't sell it almost exactly, bro, like it almost
- 30:25Speaker 5: it almost damned me.
- 30:26Speaker 1: Tries to corrupt your soul.
- 30:27Speaker 5: And that's that's what Satan tries to do in a
- 30:30Speaker 5: sense like that, you know what I mean. And that's
- 30:32Speaker 5: just obviously just to give a real vulnerable perspective on
- 30:36Speaker 5: like that has played every every artist. And because you're
- 30:39Speaker 5: done dirty a lot of labels or whatever, like you
- 30:41Speaker 5: have a lot of disappointments.
- 30:43Speaker 1: Then you're like, man, I gotta find a way, like
- 30:45Speaker 1: I gotta.
- 30:45Speaker 5: But then and I was just like making a video
- 30:48Speaker 5: about this today too, like I was dropping a story
- 30:50Speaker 5: about it, saying, once I learned to trust God to
- 30:53Speaker 5: provide for me. God always showed me like, look, I
- 30:56Speaker 5: gave you a talent, and I want you to.
- 30:58Speaker 1: Use it in this way. And by using it in
- 31:01Speaker 1: this way.
- 31:01Speaker 5: I'm willing to provide for you to be able to
- 31:03Speaker 5: eat and for you to be able to be abundant
- 31:05Speaker 5: and just worry more on like what happens every day. So,
- 31:09Speaker 5: going back to what you were saying about having it
- 31:11Speaker 5: online in person, you got to have a love for people,
- 31:15Speaker 5: because there's people.
- 31:16Speaker 1: I don't like.
- 31:17Speaker 5: People don't want to be around, people don't like dealing
- 31:20Speaker 5: with people. And I get it, bro, people can be
- 31:22Speaker 5: all over the place. I know because I've dealt with
- 31:24Speaker 5: so many different personalities. That shows that events that pop
- 31:26Speaker 5: up shops and things like that.
- 31:28Speaker 2: Especially you seeing people at their loudest, loudest volume because
- 31:32Speaker 2: they turned off.
- 31:33Speaker 5: Yeah, bro, and you that's why it's not for everybody,
- 31:35Speaker 5: because you have to have a certain love for people,
- 31:37Speaker 5: not even when somebody's like trying you or violating your
- 31:40Speaker 5: space a little bit, or slightly disrespecting you or saying whatever.
- 31:43Speaker 5: You got to be like, yo, you know what love
- 31:44Speaker 5: is love? You know, unless you're like about to swing
- 31:46Speaker 5: on me or something. I got to be Christ right,
- 31:48Speaker 5: but it's.
- 31:48Speaker 4: Different you like no, But I think I think he resembles.
- 31:54Speaker 4: You know, my boy keV who runs my boxing gym,
- 31:57Speaker 4: is godfamily in boxing. And you put your faith in
- 32:02Speaker 4: what you believe in every day and you let God
- 32:04Speaker 4: handle it. And it's as simple as.
- 32:08Speaker 3: It's not complex. Seriously, we make it.
- 32:11Speaker 1: We make it complex.
- 32:12Speaker 3: And you're saying, yeah, yeah, it put your faith in
- 32:16Speaker 3: what you believe in, executed daily and what it's going
- 32:20Speaker 3: to be handled for you, and that's it. I think
- 32:23Speaker 3: that is a great message to send.
- 32:25Speaker 5: Amen to that bro. Yes, sir, Order, like there's there's
- 32:29Speaker 5: a divine order. And actually Caleb Gordon shout out to him.
- 32:33Speaker 5: He's an artist from McCoy. He's a Christian artist, super
- 32:36Speaker 5: dope man. He reads on the scripture too, and young kid,
- 32:39Speaker 5: he's like twenty six. But he said, you know, he
- 32:43Speaker 5: was also saying something about that as well, like just
- 32:48Speaker 5: part of part of the christ Like walk for real
- 32:51Speaker 5: is having faith enough to the point where you know
- 32:54Speaker 5: that you know that God is going to provide in
- 32:56Speaker 5: that moment and when you when you get your things
- 33:01Speaker 5: in order, Like he talked about order, because what happens
- 33:04Speaker 5: is like artists, we're very disorganized, you know what I'm saying.
- 33:07Speaker 5: It's like it's we're very all over the place. So
- 33:10Speaker 5: the order is what sometimes if you get out of
- 33:12Speaker 5: an order of operations with am I waking up and
- 33:14Speaker 5: seeking God the first thing in the morning or am
- 33:16Speaker 5: my waking up and trying to figure out Instagram and Facebook?
- 33:19Speaker 5: And we all have this thing of like waking up
- 33:21Speaker 5: and going straight to the phone because it's like a
- 33:24Speaker 5: doper media.
- 33:25Speaker 3: It's like a yeah, we've had that chat.
- 33:28Speaker 1: The social media is like it's the new drug for real.
- 33:30Speaker 4: Because right, so, man, you gotta I got a Better
- 33:35Speaker 4: Man devo that I get emailed to me every morning
- 33:39Speaker 4: and it pretty much just gives you the message. It
- 33:42Speaker 4: gives you the message. And what I asked yourself and
- 33:46Speaker 4: like what I appreciate is a realization, like ask yourself
- 33:49Speaker 4: this question, like are you really doing this? Like and
- 33:53Speaker 4: this week was becoming a better man? Like being an adult?
- 33:58Speaker 4: Are you being a man? You being a boy? What
- 34:01Speaker 4: are you ignoring? And I think, uh, that plays a
- 34:07Speaker 4: big part in what you do in general and the
- 34:10Speaker 4: way you carry yourself.
- 34:12Speaker 3: Uh.
- 34:12Speaker 4: And like I said, I'm part of your your channel
- 34:15Speaker 4: and I see you send the word every day.
- 34:18Speaker 3: I see it. Oh, no, I had the creative of me.
- 34:20Speaker 4: I see, I see the way I see the word
- 34:23Speaker 4: you send every day, you know, to the to the
- 34:26Speaker 4: people who it matters to the most day.
- 34:28Speaker 3: Read it. It's a good thing you're doing, for sure.
- 34:32Speaker 3: That is big.
- 34:35Speaker 4: Like we know we talk about all the time with
- 34:37Speaker 4: like all our beliefs are not the same. But if
- 34:39Speaker 4: you put your belief in the higher power, Yeah, that
- 34:43Speaker 4: gives you power, That gives you energy, and that gives
- 34:47Speaker 4: you faith and carry on what you're doing, like whether
- 34:50Speaker 4: you're artistry or whatever we're doing.
- 34:53Speaker 3: Uh, it's important.
- 34:54Speaker 4: Yeah, And I've noticed that about you, and I appreciate
- 34:59Speaker 4: that about your saying that.
- 35:00Speaker 5: Thank you, bro, and thank you for being in that
- 35:02Speaker 5: group too, man, and receiving the word too, because I know,
- 35:05Speaker 5: like there's so many ways to view like faith and
- 35:08Speaker 5: what we believe in.
- 35:09Speaker 4: And it tells us all the time you have to
- 35:11Speaker 4: be a what's it called someone who uh projects the
- 35:17Speaker 4: word onto other people.
- 35:18Speaker 3: You have to be that person.
- 35:20Speaker 4: So it's dope, man, I'm I'm glad you came here.
- 35:24Speaker 5: Man.
- 35:25Speaker 3: Definitely appreciate man.
- 35:27Speaker 1: It's not the first it's not the last time I
- 35:29Speaker 1: got too.
- 35:30Speaker 4: Man, let's share and do this with us again. I
- 35:33Speaker 4: still think y'all need to collapse on b It's no.
- 35:36Speaker 1: Like we reconnected in that way too, Like seeing you
- 35:38Speaker 1: at the eventage.
- 35:39Speaker 3: Yeah, y'all need to collab on the track. Yeah.
- 35:42Speaker 1: Word, I'm done with that, bro, Yeah, I'm down.
- 35:45Speaker 4: That might be drive it.
- 35:51Speaker 5: Five years I was listening to a song I didn't
- 35:54Speaker 5: like twenty twenty man, and I was like, I was
- 35:56Speaker 5: listening to it and I was like, man, this song
- 35:58Speaker 5: is fire. But like the way that I was like
- 36:01Speaker 5: spinning in the bars and stuff, It's like I was
- 36:03Speaker 5: like so caught in my flesh and it was such
- 36:05Speaker 5: a lust verse but.
- 36:07Speaker 1: Like it was like, it's not who I am anymore.
- 36:09Speaker 5: But I put it out in people here they be
- 36:11Speaker 5: like yo, crazy, like that crazy, And that's one thing
- 36:18Speaker 5: I wanted to like still keep. It was like my
- 36:21Speaker 5: catalog so people can see the growth. That's why it's
- 36:24Speaker 5: not like like I do say like I move christ
- 36:26Speaker 5: like and sometimes I may say this like Christian hip hop,
- 36:29Speaker 5: but it's hard for me to even stay in that
- 36:31Speaker 5: box because of my catalog. There's a lot of secular
- 36:33Speaker 5: music and there's also a lot of spiritual music. When
- 36:36Speaker 5: I was trying to find my way, like you know,
- 36:39Speaker 5: in different ways. But now that I'm glorifying y'all again
- 36:43Speaker 5: even through my music, but.
- 36:46Speaker 4: Not saying you can't tell. But it's not like a
- 36:50Speaker 4: primary focus in your music.
- 36:51Speaker 3: It's just good music facts.
- 36:53Speaker 1: But I appreciate that.
- 36:54Speaker 3: That's what I mean. Like when you freestyle and when
- 36:56Speaker 3: you do all these events, it's.
- 36:57Speaker 4: Like, oh, it's just all religion, Like you can't even tell.
- 37:01Speaker 4: It's good hip hop.
- 37:03Speaker 1: And I love that, bro. Like so another one of
- 37:05Speaker 1: my presidents.
- 37:06Speaker 5: It really means allow when people say that, because I
- 37:09Speaker 5: think that God calls people in a different way to
- 37:12Speaker 5: give the word and to kind of bring to God.
- 37:14Speaker 3: We need to put him. These guys were sitting here
- 37:16Speaker 3: for three hours together.
- 37:18Speaker 5: Yeah, bro, so it's like just you know, you use
- 37:20Speaker 5: your gift and everybody got that purpose.
- 37:22Speaker 1: I really appreciate you having me for bro.
- 37:25Speaker 2: We definitely go tap in and do some more stuff
- 37:28Speaker 2: in the future, for sure.
- 37:29Speaker 3: Let's do it, man, Let's.
- 37:30Speaker 1: Do it bro for real. But it is yeah, yeah,
