- 0:34social media, you'll see 4 videos a day from me because I'm
- 0:36just obsessed with born to help people.
- 0:38Guys, this the whole idea of diet is quite a controversial 1.
- 0:41You hear some kind of people saying like, oh you know, the
- 0:44gluten free diet helps people with autism overcome some issues
- 0:47and all this kind of stuff. And what I do believe that
- 0:49gluten intolerance is, you know, can create a difficult life for
- 0:53anybody, not just one of the autism spectrum.
- 0:55I don't believe it's the sole way to overcome issues or or
- 0:58help manage issues on the autism spectrum.
- 1:00However, I will say though, is that because autistic
- 1:02individuals have such fast-paced brains and their minds go only
- 1:071000 miles an hour, they're burning 2 calories like nobody's
- 1:09business. And they're chasing dopamine
- 1:11constantly. Which means that fizzy drinks,
- 1:13high caffeinated drinks and, and candy and, and soda pop and, and
- 1:16stuff like pizza and junk food, like all these things are
- 1:19dopamine rich, right? And so they're going to create a
- 1:22dopamine high for anybody who who's chasing those.
- 1:25And so autistic people are, you know, susceptible to that.
- 1:28Now if I were to say that the chicken that it should be the
- 1:30international symbol for then everyone would be agreeing
- 1:33right? Now give this video the thumbs
- 1:34up if you agree that the chicken nugget is kind of like the
- 1:36symbol of autism. But unfortunately the chicken
- 1:38nugget isn't very varied in nutrients.
- 1:41It's not very high in anything other than protein and fats.
- 1:44So this leads me to the rule of diet in autism.
- 1:47Now, in order to function, autistic people will need a lot
- 1:51of varied nutrients because when you're faced with a fast pacing
- 1:56brain, you're burning through calories, you're burning
- 1:57through, you know, mega amounts of energy all day.
- 1:59You can't just really survive in chicken Nuggets, you know, yes,
- 2:01it's going to give you protein, yes, it's going to give you a
- 2:03little bit of energy, but you do need good carbohydrates.
- 2:05You need a mix of vitamins and multivitamins.
- 2:07Now the best way to do this obviously is have a varied diet
- 2:09because then you keep your brain at maximum function, keep your
- 2:11brain at maximum efficiency. And the autism brain is
- 2:14delicate, perfect, amazing thing.
- 2:16So you want to treat it as such. But I know artistic individuals
- 2:19do not like a lot of varied foods.
- 2:21This is very common and I get it.
- 2:23So what did I do to change this? Now I'm just like any other, you
- 2:26know, autistic individual. If I could just eat chicken
- 2:28Nuggets for the rest of my life, that would be the same.
- 2:30Even though I'm vegan, I still eat vegan chicken Nuggets,
- 2:32right? However, I decided to add in
- 2:34smoothies to my diet because I like fruit juices and I like
- 2:37kind of fruit in general. I like sweet tasting things.
- 2:40So if you can have a smoothie that tastes like a milkshake
- 2:43every day, you win because you with much nutrients and that's
- 2:46possible. The gel pack full of all good
- 2:47healthy stuff. I actually prefer green juices
- 2:49now because they look green, but they taste like tropical juice
- 2:52because you can put in like lemons and pineapples and apples
- 2:54and berries and stuff in it. By introducing those into your
- 2:58diet, what you will do is cover the fact that there's a deficit
- 3:00for nutrients in the autism diet and also satisfy that need for a
- 3:04bit of dopamine hit. It's a win, win situation.
- 3:07Now. I'd love to know your like
- 3:09experience on this and your your input.
