- 0:23chickens. Hey everybody.
- 0:28Good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:31So let's talk about Duality and what do I mean by that?
- 0:35Well, we constantly live in a world of Duality as human beings
- 0:40light and dark, North and South. You know, happy and sad.
- 0:46It surrounds us constantly and often we want to avoid having
- 0:53the dark side of things and of The Duality and we want to just
- 0:57stay on the light side of things but without the dark side of
- 1:00things, we Appreciate the light side of things and it is it's
- 1:05hard when the dark side of things show up, but it's
- 1:09necessary for us to be able to transition through it.
- 1:14And sometimes we think we should have a stiff upper lip and be
- 1:20very, you know, as Margaret Thatcher said, you know, carry
- 1:23on everyone stiff-upper-lip, carry on.
- 1:25It's the old British tradition of, you know, I have lots of
- 1:29friends. Who are British.
- 1:31And my whole family is from England and London.
- 1:36And that that's always just been the motto of thinking of things,
- 1:41just, you know, you can carry on, you can get through
- 1:43anything. And, yes, that's true.
- 1:45You can. But you don't have to ignore the
- 1:48part that makes you so sad. And I think acknowledging things
- 1:52when they make you sad again, not necessarily staying in the
- 1:56state forever. Please believe that I'm not
- 1:58saying that what I'm saying is The emotion is necessary because
- 2:02the again, the emotion is trying to teach us something.
- 2:05So when we get sad about something, we have to
- 2:08acknowledge what it's trying to teach us.
- 2:10And sometimes that's the simple thing of just saying, well, this
- 2:14is where I am in my life right now and this is just a sad
- 2:17moment. Like, for instance, if you spent
- 2:20the holiday by yourself, and that's not how you like to spend
- 2:24the holiday. But you, you did this year
- 2:26because you're in the middle of a huge transition.
- 2:28Well, guess what, the light. It is on the other side of that.
- 2:32You know, you're just walking through the tunnel towards the
- 2:34light. The light is shining bright at
- 2:36the end of that tunnel and you are heading through it to get to
- 2:40that light. So, is it a longer walk?
- 2:42Yes. Is there a lot of Duality during
- 2:45this process? Yes.
- 2:46Do you need to allow yourself to be sad to recognize one door is
- 2:51closing but a window is opening or another door is opening
- 2:55absolutely 100%. Yes.
- 2:58So I'm going to encourage you You to welcome the Duality.
- 3:03I'm going to encourage you to see something amazing where
- 3:07there might be nothing amazing right now.
- 3:09You know, I got a notice from a friend yesterday that someone,
- 3:16that I knew a long time ago had passed away.
- 3:18And even though I hadn't seen this person in many, many years,
- 3:23it doesn't mean that I didn't have an emotional reaction to
- 3:27it. I did.
- 3:29And I thought about it all night.
- 3:30Long. And I thought about a
- 3:33conversation I had with my most beloved cousin and what she was
- 3:39going through. And both these things were in my
- 3:42head, ruminating all night long before.
- 3:44I, you know, came out here this morning to open the chicken coop
- 3:48and to look at my beloved little Dottie who's bald as can be
- 3:53right now, as she's molting and I thought, wow, I was going to
- 3:56talk about Duality and then I look at her, she's in Duality
- 3:59right now. She's one of The most beautiful
- 4:01chickens that I have. And right now, she looks like
- 4:05she's the homeless chicken living on the street and not
- 4:07being fed because all of her feathers fell out and most of
- 4:11her feathers fellow. She still has some but she looks
- 4:14terrible and again, Duality it's everywhere.
- 4:18Seasons Duality. The trees are beautiful.
- 4:20Sometimes, the treats are with their colored leaves, and then
- 4:24they are green, and then they're bald as can be, you know, it's
- 4:28just, it's everywhere, around us.
- 4:30And we have to make sure that we're we're focused on what
- 4:36those meanings brings you us. So when I heard that this person
- 4:39had passed away it, even though I hadn't seen this person in
- 4:44years, I was I thought about it and I was like, wow, that's so
- 4:47sad. He was so young.
- 4:49He had so much of a bright future in front of him and yet
- 4:56you never know what could happen and this is why, you know, I
- 5:00think Those of us in the self-development industry,
- 5:02professed constantly that you you have to live to your fullest
- 5:06because you just never know. And we genuinely mean that
- 5:10because we see it all the time and you have to do the things
- 5:13that mean things to you. Whether they're small or big,
- 5:16you take your chances, you take your risks, you live with your
- 5:19Duality, you put on your big girl pants and your big boy
- 5:22pants and you say you know what, screw it, I'm going to give it a
- 5:24shot and if it doesn't work out it's okay.
- 5:27I took the shot you know, you Miss 100% of the shots you never
- 5:33take and you have to take them. So today is about going into the
- 5:37end of this year, knowing that wherever you are, you're just in
- 5:41Duality, it's going to be a moment, it's going to pass and
- 5:45then you're going to find something else because you're
- 5:47going to put yourself together. And you're going to say I am
- 5:50focused on where I am headed. I'm not going to stay in this
- 5:55moment because this moment is just a moment that's it.
- 5:59And when you start to frame, Things like, well, that's just
- 6:01right now and then they'll be more moment and I will have
- 6:05Duality throughout my life. There's something in accepting
- 6:09the fact that it's never going to be 100% perfect.
- 6:12I mean, I people often say to me, you know, well, your life is
- 6:16perfect. No, my life is not perfect.
- 6:18My life is fantastic, but it is not perfect.
- 6:22We have problems. We have things that go on all
- 6:24the time. And you know what?
- 6:27We transitions through them, we change our attitudes, we Shift.
- 6:30What we're doing. We make smart decisions and
- 6:34that's what it's all about. So it's not about beating
- 6:36yourself up. It's not about putting yourself
- 6:38down. It's not about believing.
- 6:40You can't do something. It's about changing your
- 6:42perspective. So hopefully today, you will see
- 6:46the other side of the Duality. You'll see the light at the end
- 6:49of your tunnel. You'll appreciate the people
- 6:50around you while they're here. You'll give everybody a hug and
- 6:53you'll know that you are transitioning to something
- 6:56extraordinary. As long as you envisioned, that
- 6:59extraordinary piece. If you're headed in that
- 7:01direction. So I hope you guys have a very
- 7:04blessed day and I will see you all tomorrow.
- 7:06Bye.
