- 1:02SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah.
- 1:03SPEAKER_02: Thinking about it for a while.
- 1:04SPEAKER_05: You'll be on Victory Hill for a while there.
- 1:05SPEAKER_05: Uh, but we'll get into that.
- 1:06SPEAKER_02: Uh what are you drinking tonight?
- 1:08SPEAKER_02: Uh I'm drinking a Star Hill brewery out of Charlottesville in honor of our uh our UVA brethren.
- 1:14SPEAKER_02: It's a uh Star Hill overdrive.
- 1:17SPEAKER_02: It's a hazy Imperial uh pale ale, and it's pretty good.
- 1:21SPEAKER_02: Nice, pretty, pretty good.
- 1:23SPEAKER_05: Pretty good, pretty good.
- 1:24SPEAKER_05: I am drinking a New Glaris brewing company.
- 1:27SPEAKER_05: Uh, this is a Scream Imperial IPA from God, where is this?
- 1:32SPEAKER_05: New Glaris, uh, Wisconsin, I believe.
- 1:34SPEAKER_05: My neighbor, uh, who actually go Badgers.
- 1:37SPEAKER_05: My neighbor, who's actually the host of the Kraft Beer Mafia podcast, a sponsor of ours.
- 1:41SPEAKER_05: You should uh check check out their show sometime.
- 1:43SPEAKER_05: Uh, left this from my fridge and it is wild.
- 1:46SPEAKER_05: It's imperial, it's 9%, so it's boozy as heck, but it's got some like sour fruitiness in there.
- 1:51SPEAKER_05: It's almost like a little like a it's like it's like a it's like a fruity imperial IPA.
- 1:55SPEAKER_05: It's weird.
- 1:55SPEAKER_05: It's it's not it's not that it's not a typical brew I I like, but um tastes damn good tonight.
- 2:00SPEAKER_05: I was let's say that.
- 2:01SPEAKER_05: So, you know, all right.
- 2:02SPEAKER_02: That's all right.
- 2:03SPEAKER_02: Let's get weird, let's get fruity.
- 2:05SPEAKER_05: Um, so before we do that, um what's your what's what's new with you?
- 2:08SPEAKER_05: What's the last time we hung out?
- 2:09SPEAKER_05: What's what's going on in your life these days?
- 2:11SPEAKER_02: Ooh, man.
- 2:13SPEAKER_02: Um, not a whole lot new, just been busy, you know.
- 2:16SPEAKER_02: Um babies running around.
- 2:18SPEAKER_02: Um not a whole lot, honestly.
- 2:20SPEAKER_02: I wish I had something cool to talk about.
- 2:23SPEAKER_02: Um, I do know that you have something cool to talk about.
- 2:26SPEAKER_02: I do have something to do with it.
- 2:27SPEAKER_02: You got a new whip.
- 2:28SPEAKER_05: I got a new car yesterday.
- 2:29SPEAKER_05: So um uh my wife and I, or most of you know, my wife and I are expecting number three here around Christmas time, and we don't have a vehicle that can get all of us our stuff and our dog anywhere.
- 2:39SPEAKER_05: So we actually just bought a brand new, my wife and I's first ever brand new car, 2022 Toyota Siena hybrid.
- 2:48SPEAKER_05: I had to drive up to Pennsylvania.
- 2:48SPEAKER_05: I can feel the heat.
- 2:49SPEAKER_05: I can feel here.
- 2:50SPEAKER_05: I know it's like it's like driving a cloud, my man.
- 2:52SPEAKER_05: I either drive up to Pennsylvania to buy it at a cracker barrel, literally signed my life away in a restaurant at Cracker Barrel yesterday.
- 2:59SPEAKER_05: Uh, brought it back.
- 3:00SPEAKER_05: Um, and it's amazing.
- 3:01SPEAKER_05: It is amazing.
- 3:02SPEAKER_02: You're not the first person to sign your life away in a cracker barrel parking lot.
- 3:06SPEAKER_02: Tells me.
- 3:06SPEAKER_05: Correct, but I actually wanted to.
- 3:08SPEAKER_05: I was felt I felt good about it.
- 3:09SPEAKER_05: It was not a military recruiter.
- 3:10SPEAKER_05: I was actually excited to obtain a vehicle.
- 3:13SPEAKER_05: So no.
- 3:13SPEAKER_05: Um, yeah, my wife and I's first ever family brand new car.
- 3:17SPEAKER_05: Very exciting.
- 3:18SPEAKER_05: I cannot wait to give you and your people a ride in it.
- 3:20SPEAKER_05: And whoever's listening, you can come too because we don't have that many listeners anyway.
- 3:24SPEAKER_05: So all of you could come on in if we can.
- 3:27SPEAKER_05: Pile it in.
- 3:28SPEAKER_05: Pile it in.
- 3:28SPEAKER_05: I got room for all y'all.
- 3:29SPEAKER_05: So that's my that's my personal dish for the week.
- 3:32SPEAKER_05: Um, let's talk about the last week of football because man, it was um, it was nuts.
- 3:38SPEAKER_05: Um, let's start with the top.
- 3:40SPEAKER_05: Uh, Georgia looked a little vulnerable again.
- 3:42SPEAKER_05: Kent State.
- 3:42SPEAKER_05: I hear a lot of talk about that.
- 3:43SPEAKER_05: Like, oh, is this a thing?
- 3:45SPEAKER_05: Is this a thing?
- 3:46SPEAKER_05: I don't think so at all.
- 3:47SPEAKER_05: How do you get up for a Kent State?
- 3:49SPEAKER_05: If you're Georgia, defending champs, won several straight, it doesn't mean anything to me.
- 3:53SPEAKER_05: It doesn't mean anything to me.
- 3:54SPEAKER_02: No, it it means absolutely nothing.
- 3:56SPEAKER_02: There's no takeaway from this game.
- 3:59SPEAKER_02: It is, it is just go and try not to look terrible.
- 4:04SPEAKER_02: And it's a teaching moment for the coaches because the kids are gonna sleepwalk through that game.
- 4:10SPEAKER_02: It's really hard to to get them not to sleepwalk, and then they get hammered all week the the following week for it.
- 4:16SPEAKER_02: I mean, they're not playing to win, they're playing against the spread.
- 4:19SPEAKER_02: Yeah, exactly.
- 4:20SPEAKER_02: So, yeah, it means nothing.
- 4:22SPEAKER_02: It's a it's it's dumb to get bent out of shape.
- 4:24SPEAKER_02: Uh, if you're a Georgia fan, maybe you get bent out of shape because you're proud and you want to look amazing and flawless every week, but none of these teams are flawless anyway, so just move on.
- 4:35SPEAKER_05: I'm glad you and I agree because I've heard a lot of talking heads this week being like, is Georgia vulnerable?
- 4:38SPEAKER_05: I just I don't buy it for a split second.
- 4:41SPEAKER_05: So enough about that.
- 4:42SPEAKER_02: The number one if that was a capable team, a a good power five team that tested them, that would be a completely different story.
- 4:48SPEAKER_02: Sure.
- 4:49SPEAKER_02: And you get Georgia's best, which obviously that was not that.
- 4:51SPEAKER_05: So I'm not worried about that.
- 4:52SPEAKER_05: Uh, other big piece of news.
- 4:54SPEAKER_05: Um, Hurricane Ian is coming this coming this week.
- 4:56SPEAKER_05: It's already postponed a bunch of games.
- 4:58SPEAKER_05: We don't really know.
- 4:59SPEAKER_05: We don't really know, yeah.
- 5:01SPEAKER_05: Sucks.
- 5:01SPEAKER_05: We don't really know what it's gonna look like.
- 5:02SPEAKER_05: Hope everybody in Florida is safe.
- 5:04SPEAKER_05: And by the time you're hearing this, I know it's been it's been downgraded from a cat four to a cat three, which is good news.
- 5:09SPEAKER_05: Hopefully that number keeps going down uh quickly.
- 5:11SPEAKER_05: Um, but that's gonna mess with a bunch of games this week in terms of betting lines, weather, passing games.
- 5:17SPEAKER_02: Um, I don't even know what else to say about that, but it's gonna be a main storyline for us this week, especially across, you know, it is not even just the direct path, but as the weather impacts games, like that Clemson game.
- 5:31SPEAKER_02: I mean, that could be a weird one because of that in North Carolina.
- 5:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 5:35SPEAKER_02: Uh, you know, a lot of wind, a lot of rain.
- 5:37SPEAKER_02: The line has moved significantly on the over-under from that game.
- 5:40SPEAKER_02: It's dropped a ton.
- 5:42SPEAKER_02: So yeah, we'll we'll see.
- 5:44SPEAKER_05: A lot of football being played in the South, Mike.
- 5:46SPEAKER_05: I don't know if you know that.
- 5:46SPEAKER_05: There's a lot of teams in the South that really like football.
- 5:48SPEAKER_05: That's where this uh happens to be a storm coming.
- 5:50SPEAKER_05: Never heard of it.
- 5:51SPEAKER_05: Never heard of that, right?
- 5:52SPEAKER_05: Um, so we'll just see how that how that all plays out.
- 5:54SPEAKER_05: Uh, other thing, uh Georgia Tech, Jeff Collins got finally got the axe and the AD.
- 6:00SPEAKER_05: He took the AD down with him, Georgia Tech and the A D.
- 6:02SPEAKER_05: That's three weeks in a row.
- 6:03SPEAKER_05: Have you noticed that?
- 6:04SPEAKER_05: It was Frost.
- 6:05SPEAKER_05: Uh, last week with Herm Edwards, next week with Jeff Collins.
- 6:08SPEAKER_05: Hot take.
- 6:09SPEAKER_05: Brian Harrison.
- 6:10SPEAKER_05: Number four, LSU's gonna bury him this week.
- 6:13SPEAKER_05: LSU is gonna bury Brian Harrison this week.
- 6:16SPEAKER_05: He's not gonna make it to uh mid-October, which wouldn't surprise me.
- 6:19SPEAKER_05: It wouldn't surprise me at all at this point.
- 6:21SPEAKER_05: Anything to say about Georgia Tech other than completely reset?
- 6:24SPEAKER_02: Georgia Tech has pot has so much potential to be a good program again.
- 6:29SPEAKER_02: They're sitting in one of the hottest of hotbed recruiting sites.
- 6:33SPEAKER_02: They're in the AC C.
- 6:37SPEAKER_02: Deion Sanders sweepstakes, baby.
- 6:39SPEAKER_05: I've heard that.
- 6:40SPEAKER_05: I've heard Dion.
- 6:41SPEAKER_05: I would love to see Dion and Georgia Tech.
- 6:42SPEAKER_05: That would be a big job, that'd be a humongous step up from Jackson State.
- 6:46SPEAKER_05: But um, he's got the personality and clearly can recruit, and he's and he's won a bunch of games.
- 6:50SPEAKER_05: I mean, you know, part of the thing is like, can he coach football?
- 6:54SPEAKER_05: And it's starting to look like maybe he can.
- 6:56SPEAKER_02: So well, the other thing too is there's a lot of different ways you can do it.
- 7:00SPEAKER_02: And if you hire a lot of good coordinators and you're a great motivator at Ogeron, you can you can you can do things if you can recruit and you can and you can delegate.
- 7:09SPEAKER_02: I mean, you can be the CEO of of a of a football program.
- 7:13SPEAKER_05: Absolutely.
- 7:13SPEAKER_05: And you know what Dion can do?
- 7:14SPEAKER_05: Uh Mr.
- 7:15SPEAKER_05: Mr.
- 7:16SPEAKER_05: Prime, Coach Prime, what he can do is he can motivate alumni bases too.
- 7:19SPEAKER_05: He can get the he can get big checks written.
- 7:21SPEAKER_05: And the and you know, in the NIL era recruiting, there's so many kids in Georgia who can play football.
- 7:26SPEAKER_05: There are so many good kids in Georgia who can play great football.
- 7:28SPEAKER_05: If he can they can't all go to Georgia, they sure can.
- 7:31SPEAKER_05: Um, or and Tennessee and L SU and Florida, there's an Auburn, and there's still there's still guys.
- 7:36SPEAKER_05: Um, if he can create Georgia Tech to a brand, I think I think he can, and he can get some money flow.
- 7:42SPEAKER_05: And I I could see Atlanta being a cool football town, college football in addition to the Falcons.
- 7:47SPEAKER_02: And you know, for better or worse, I mean that would be a big name splash higher, where at least it would generate some buzz.
- 7:53SPEAKER_02: Yeah, no pun intended for the Yellow Jackets.
- 7:56SPEAKER_02: Um hasn't been around that program for a while.
- 8:00SPEAKER_05: No pun intended.
- 8:01SPEAKER_05: I don't believe that for a second.
- 8:03SPEAKER_05: Uh very cool.
- 8:03SPEAKER_05: So we'll see what happens with Georgia Tech.
- 8:05SPEAKER_05: Uh tough, tough year for the Brad, tough year, fire coach four games in.
- 8:08SPEAKER_05: It's gonna be a it's gonna be a long season for them.
- 8:10SPEAKER_05: Uh let's keep it moving.
- 8:12SPEAKER_05: Uh Mel Tucker getting thumped by uh Minnesota Gophers, who I want to talk about as well.
- 8:19SPEAKER_05: Uh 95 million dollar man.
- 8:21SPEAKER_05: If you remember Mike Blitzers, one of my bold predictions was he was gonna finish, I think if I said fourth or fifth in the Big Ten East.
- 8:28SPEAKER_05: I'm feeling pretty good.
- 8:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you said in the division.
- 8:30SPEAKER_02: I still think that's that's too bold.
- 8:32SPEAKER_05: But I don't think so.
- 8:34SPEAKER_05: He's gonna lose to Michigan, gonna lose Michigan State, gonna lose to Penn State.
- 8:37SPEAKER_05: I'm thinking Maryland might beat him.
- 8:38SPEAKER_05: I'm telling you, I think they're gonna finish fifth.
- 8:40SPEAKER_05: And I'm loving my prediction.
- 8:42SPEAKER_05: It's looking better better.
- 8:43SPEAKER_02: You're looking good now, and and I and I'll eat some crow because I'm a Mel Tucker believer, and I still am.
- 8:49SPEAKER_02: I think he he still has the foundation in this program to bounce back and surprise a Michigan or you know, surprise any of any of those big teams.
- 9:00SPEAKER_02: So, yeah, I mean, I think Minnesota for me is the bigger takeaway because early in the season, um, this was a one you circle on on the Michigan State schedule and say that's probably a win.
- 9:13SPEAKER_02: And Minnesota looks damn good.
- 9:15SPEAKER_02: Minnesota is good.
- 9:16SPEAKER_05: Um, Tanner Morgan, they're like the seventh year senior still playing.
- 9:20SPEAKER_05: He got the he's one of the guys that got the COVID year, so he got to keep playing.
- 9:24SPEAKER_05: Um, I think he's got 900 yards, like eight touchdowns, eight touchdowns, one pick on the year.
- 9:29SPEAKER_05: Mo Ibrahim, that running back, is nasty.
- 9:32SPEAKER_05: Uh, PJ Fleck has got them humming.
- 9:34SPEAKER_05: They're they are clearly at this point the best team in the Big Ten West, which is a crappy division at the moment, but he's got Minnesota cut above.
- 9:42SPEAKER_02: Well, let's also say Michigan State was their first test of the season.
- 9:46SPEAKER_02: True.
- 9:47SPEAKER_02: And their their numbers look outstanding, especially in defense.
- 9:50SPEAKER_02: Their defense is is like a top 10 defense right now, and so we're still finding some things out.
- 9:55SPEAKER_02: We'll know more.
- 9:56SPEAKER_02: Um, I think they play Purdue this week.
- 9:59SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that should be interesting.
- 10:00SPEAKER_02: And again, that that could be one that I'm wrong on again because I was high on Purdue coming into the season.
- 10:06SPEAKER_05: It's not so much, I mean, I like I really like what Moe Ibrahim and Timor Tanner Morgan are doing in Minnesota.
- 10:11SPEAKER_05: The bigger thing is just how bad the big the Big Ten West is.
- 10:14SPEAKER_05: Nebraska is we don't go anymore about that.
- 10:17SPEAKER_05: Iowa looks bad.
- 10:19SPEAKER_05: Wisconsin is not the Wisconsin of old.
- 10:21SPEAKER_05: Graham Ertz is just not doing it for them, and their their defense is not where it's supposed to be.
- 10:25SPEAKER_05: They they um I think that the Big Ten West is really, really down in ways that even though they're not nearly as I mean, we're expecting we always expect the East to be better with the Penn State, Michigans, and of course, Michigan states, Ohio states, yeah.
- 10:38SPEAKER_05: But this year the Big Ten West is Big Ten bad.
- 10:41SPEAKER_05: I don't know, yeah.
- 10:42SPEAKER_05: I can't, I don't know.
- 10:43SPEAKER_05: So that's why I'm I'm that's why I think I think I'm I'm I'm sold on Minnesota.
- 10:48SPEAKER_02: I'm actually I'm buying on Minnesota right now, too, just because looking at I mean, without Aiden O'Connell and and his status at Purdue right now is pretty murky.
- 10:56SPEAKER_02: He got injured and went out last game, which didn't help.
- 10:58SPEAKER_02: You know, they had to eke out a win.
- 11:00SPEAKER_02: Um, yeah, things look good for Minnesota right now.
- 11:03SPEAKER_02: Um they're gonna be they're gonna be riding high, undefeated for another week or two, probably.
- 11:07SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 11:08SPEAKER_02: Uh kudos to them.
- 11:09SPEAKER_02: Good to them.
- 11:10SPEAKER_05: Uh let's keep it rolling.
- 11:11SPEAKER_05: Um, Kansas.
- 11:13SPEAKER_05: Kansas is 4-0, uh, which is so impressive considering they were two and 10 team last year.
- 11:19SPEAKER_05: Lance Leopold uh is a great coach.
- 11:21SPEAKER_05: Uh Jalen Daniels is getting some Heisman buzz.
- 11:24SPEAKER_05: When was the last time a Kentucky player got some Heisman buzz?
- 11:28SPEAKER_05: 1910?
- 11:29SPEAKER_05: I mean, what are we talking about?
- 11:30SPEAKER_05: Like, we're going back.
- 11:31SPEAKER_02: No idea.
- 11:31SPEAKER_02: I think the name that you need to know here is um Andy Coltnicke, which is their offensive coordinator.
- 11:38SPEAKER_02: Go ahead.
- 11:39SPEAKER_02: Go on.
- 11:39SPEAKER_02: No, he is the genius behind what they're doing over there.
- 11:42SPEAKER_02: I mean, give Lance Leopold credit, but he Andy Kotlnikke is the guy.
- 11:49SPEAKER_02: He is he's the one.
- 11:50SPEAKER_02: I mean, he's drawn up crazy plays.
- 11:52SPEAKER_02: He's gonna be a name to follow this year, and and moving into next year, he's gonna.
- 11:56SPEAKER_02: I don't know why he would stay at Kansas.
- 11:59SPEAKER_05: Well, the good news is with a name like that, nobody will forget him.
- 12:02SPEAKER_05: So we'll we'll always be like, oh, that guy, that's the guy who did the the kids.
- 12:05SPEAKER_02: That's the guy Mike mentioned.
- 12:06SPEAKER_02: Cult Nicky.
- 12:09SPEAKER_05: Although I will say their schedule, I mean, I mean, give them credit for what they've done so far.
- 12:13SPEAKER_05: I mean, West Virginia is a real team.
- 12:15SPEAKER_05: Uh past where they got another bit, they got another nice win.
- 12:17SPEAKER_05: Um, but the schedule, here's the other thing.
- 12:20SPEAKER_05: Underlying, underlying current, there's no bad team in the Big 12.
- 12:24SPEAKER_05: Mike, do me a favor while I'm talking, pull up the Big 12 standings and tell me who the worst team in the Big 12 is.
- 12:30SPEAKER_05: It's not as easy as you think.
- 12:31SPEAKER_05: They've got a bunch of good teams.
- 12:32SPEAKER_05: Yeah, Kansas State.
- 12:33SPEAKER_05: Kansas State's good.
- 12:35SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 12:35SPEAKER_05: The rest of the schedule, Iowa State.
- 12:37SPEAKER_05: TCU's always good.
- 12:38SPEAKER_05: I the rest of their sketch.
- 12:39SPEAKER_05: TCU is a sneaky three and no.
- 12:41SPEAKER_05: Iowa State, TCU, Baylor, Oklahoma State, uh, Oklahoma, uh, uh, Oklahoma State, uh, Texas Tech, um, uh, Texas and Kansas State.
- 12:52SPEAKER_05: All of those teams you could make a case for.
- 12:54SPEAKER_05: Um, so while Kansas is off to a 4-0 start, and I think at this point, even if they finish four and eight, even if they finish four and eight, I mean, it would suck to finish four and eight the way they did, given they've won four straight now.
- 13:04SPEAKER_05: But I think everybody would say doubled your win total.
- 13:06SPEAKER_05: Uh, you have no talent, so kudos.
- 13:08SPEAKER_05: But I they're gonna they're they're I think they're going through a bowl.
- 13:11SPEAKER_05: I think they're gonna get two more somewhere.
- 13:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think so.
- 13:14SPEAKER_02: I don't think that's a question because I think that this offense is just built to to put up points and and and and hang, hang, keep you in the game.
- 13:22SPEAKER_05: Correct, which is like a totally a Big 12 thing to do, is like be okay defense, but they can also hang 40, 50, 60 points on like any given Saturday.
- 13:28SPEAKER_05: So kudos to Kansas.
- 13:30SPEAKER_05: Uh I will see your schedule about to get tough, but we'll just see it.
- 13:34SPEAKER_05: Uh Clemson, Clemsoning, almost Clemsoning, uh, won an overtime thriller against um Wake Forest Demon Deeks.
- 13:42SPEAKER_05: Uh, so sad to see them lose.
- 13:43SPEAKER_05: I really want to wake for us to pull it out.
- 13:45SPEAKER_02: Um so what's your bigger takeaway in this game?
- 13:48SPEAKER_02: DJ Uliongalile having his best game in a really, really long time, or Clemson's defense um leaving you wanting against the high-powered uh wake offense.
- 13:59SPEAKER_02: Clemson's defense because Brent Venables is not coming back.
- 14:01SPEAKER_05: Um, I they're clean there.
- 14:03SPEAKER_05: I'm we're seeing, I mean, Wake Forest is good.
- 14:06SPEAKER_05: That slow mesh um offense that they run, and you'll see you'll hear that.
- 14:10SPEAKER_05: Such a slow mesh.
- 14:11SPEAKER_05: You hear that, you hear the slow.
- 14:12SPEAKER_05: Well, what there's when they say slow mesh offense, what they actually mean is RPO.
- 14:15SPEAKER_05: RPO run pass option.
- 14:17SPEAKER_05: It usually takes the quarterback holds the ball for a second before he's a chance to kind of pop it out and pass it.
- 14:21SPEAKER_05: In the slow mesh, the average is more like two and a half seconds.
- 14:25SPEAKER_05: So essentially what you're seeing is the quarterback putting the ball in the running back's hands, and he's like holding it there for a while, which gives receivers all kinds of times to get open, and they just run it flawlessly, and it's gonna give defenses, especially in the ACC, fits all season.
- 14:40SPEAKER_02: Sam Hartman is literally like putting a bun in the oven and just waiting, waiting, waiting.
- 14:45SPEAKER_04: It's kind of nerve, it's kind of nerve-wracking.
- 14:47SPEAKER_04: It's like the defensive end is coming, he's gonna take someone's head off.
- 14:50SPEAKER_04: You better move that damn ball.
- 14:51SPEAKER_02: If no one's open, he's leaving it.
- 14:53SPEAKER_02: And if if pressure's coming, he's he's getting rid of it.
- 14:56SPEAKER_02: It's it's yeah, it's it's it's exciting.
- 14:59SPEAKER_02: And and and he does it well.
- 15:00SPEAKER_02: And he's an NFL talent, and and I'm glad to see him back and operating at a high level.
- 15:04SPEAKER_05: He is, and he should have won that game.
- 15:06SPEAKER_05: They should have won that.
- 15:07SPEAKER_05: And he's on and he is on high school list.
- 15:08SPEAKER_05: So we say all of those things about Wake Forest's offense, how often it is to say like Clemson had a spot stopping them, especially in Wake Forest at Wake Forest, is tough.
- 15:18SPEAKER_05: Um, but this defense looks had no answers.
- 15:21SPEAKER_05: They A.T.
- 15:22SPEAKER_05: Perry was open all day.
- 15:23SPEAKER_05: Um, Sam Hartman was carving them up for 60 solid minutes.
- 15:27SPEAKER_05: When if you're supposed to have the best defense in college football, and honestly, their defensive line at least um has that.
- 15:33SPEAKER_05: Uh, I don't know.
- 15:34SPEAKER_05: I don't I can't it's hard to excuse.
- 15:36SPEAKER_05: They they've got talent in the secondary linebacking and the second level.
- 15:40SPEAKER_05: They couldn't slow, they had no answer for Wake.
- 15:42SPEAKER_05: If that game is the 20 minutes long, I think Wake wins.
- 15:45SPEAKER_05: So that's what's your that's my big takeaway.
- 15:47SPEAKER_05: What do you got?
- 16:27SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I agree.
- 16:28SPEAKER_02: I think uh it's it's it's huge for them that DJ played a big game and he played well and he played to his potential, and their offense looked better, and that's something that they can take away and and and move forward with.
- 16:40SPEAKER_02: Um, they're going up against the really tough NC State defense that we'll talk about here uh shortly.
- 16:46SPEAKER_02: Um, the good news for them is they've clearly got the horses on defense, and sometimes these college games are a little screwy, you know.
- 16:56SPEAKER_02: You survive in advance and um you figure things out and you get better.
- 17:00SPEAKER_02: And so that's what you gotta hope for if you're a Clemson fan that you know you had one of those oopsie games and you still got the win.
- 17:07SPEAKER_02: And um right now, looking ahead, I would be more afraid of Wake Forest's offense than what Devin O'Leary has been doing at NC State right now.
- 17:20SPEAKER_02: If I'm a Clemson fan, yeah, just because O'Leary is clearly capable of it, but um, they haven't been um clicking the way they did last year up to this point.
- 17:30SPEAKER_05: Yep.
- 17:30SPEAKER_05: And we'll come back to the NC State games.
- 17:32SPEAKER_05: We're so we're gonna we're gonna highlight that, but I think all of I think everything you're saying is valid.
- 17:36SPEAKER_05: Uh Clemson schedule's got them.
- 17:37SPEAKER_05: They're they've got they've got challenges at at Florida State, um, home Syracuse at Notre Dame, which is getting better.
- 17:44SPEAKER_05: Uh Louisville, Malik Cunningham is always a challenge.
- 17:47SPEAKER_05: Miami, you gotta think Miami's gonna put on a better product by them.
- 17:49SPEAKER_05: Actually, let's you know, let's let's get off Clemson.
- 17:51SPEAKER_05: Let's talk about Miami.
- 17:52SPEAKER_05: Let's talk about Miami.
- 17:53SPEAKER_05: Let's talk about Miami.
- 17:55SPEAKER_05: Uh, you go ahead and you start.
- 17:56SPEAKER_05: I know I'm I'm just wrong about everything about Miami.
- 17:58SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh.
- 18:00SPEAKER_02: Miami, Miami, Miami.
- 18:02SPEAKER_02: What were you doing?
- 18:03SPEAKER_02: Um I just don't, I I just this is a baffling game to me because it's not it's not quite like an Appalachian state.
- 18:12SPEAKER_02: It's not this was this is maybe the biggest upset of the season thus far.
- 18:17SPEAKER_02: This is uh MTSU just dunking all over Miami's defense and Miami's offense not having any sort of answer for it.
- 18:29SPEAKER_02: MTSU, Middle Tennessee State University, for those who are uneducated, put up passing plays of 69, 71, 98, and 89 yards.
- 18:42SPEAKER_02: Those are four plays.
- 18:43SPEAKER_02: Those are just four plays we're talking about here.
- 18:45SPEAKER_02: They put up 500 yards of passing on Miami's woeful defense.
- 18:49SPEAKER_05: I think I saw once that it was like one receiver, two, two receptions, 179 yards, two touchdowns.
- 18:54SPEAKER_05: That's a whole stat line.
- 18:55SPEAKER_05: It's a pretty pretty efficient day.
- 18:57SPEAKER_02: It's like if you went into Madden or college football and put one of your wide receivers at like 99 skill, 99 speed, 99, and then like you played the computer and you just threw it to him every time and nobody could tackle him.
- 19:11SPEAKER_05: Uh I don't I don't I don't know what to say about Miami.
- 19:13SPEAKER_05: Um, Tyler Van Dyke is was is not who we thought he is.
- 19:16SPEAKER_05: I put most of the blame on this on Mario Cristobal.
- 19:19SPEAKER_05: There's just no excuse to lose at home to Middle Tennessee State, who's already lost ugly games this year.
- 19:25SPEAKER_05: They're not a good football team.
- 19:26SPEAKER_05: They they lost to our JMU dudes.
- 19:29SPEAKER_05: I knew they 44 to 7.
- 19:31SPEAKER_05: That's what I thought they were gonna say.
- 19:33SPEAKER_05: That's what I thought we were gonna say because I although the JMU is the best team of Virginia, which we'll get to later.
- 19:36SPEAKER_05: Um, I remember they lost to a bad team.
- 19:38SPEAKER_05: I did Mark.
- 19:39SPEAKER_05: They didn't just lose, they got the doors blown up.
- 19:42SPEAKER_05: No, they locked, they lost super, super ugly.
- 19:44SPEAKER_05: Crystal ball, and I've heard Oregon fans say this like this is kind of thing, this is what he does.
- 19:48SPEAKER_05: He has sometimes you just you get these underperforming games where he just doesn't have them ready to go.
- 19:55SPEAKER_05: I don't have much of an excuse for Miami.
- 19:57SPEAKER_05: This was a I mean, losing to Texas AM at AM, sure, that's tough.
- 20:01SPEAKER_05: AM is bouncing back there, they've got loads of talent, but losing Middle Tennessee State at home is just inexcusable.
- 20:08SPEAKER_05: I'm sure fixed, I'm sure folks down at Coral Gables are pissed.
- 20:11SPEAKER_02: Um, I don't else I don't know what else to say about that.
- 20:13SPEAKER_02: Um, I'll tell you one more thing to say about that.
- 20:15SPEAKER_02: Please do.
- 20:16SPEAKER_02: Uh I'm paraphrasing here.
- 20:17SPEAKER_02: MTSU's coach is still feeling good, as he should be.
- 20:20SPEAKER_02: He put out um a quote today or yesterday, I think it was, that they got paid like 1.7, I don't know, 1.7 million or something to play in that game.
- 20:30SPEAKER_02: And he responded with um, he held Miami's rushing to 1.6 per attempt or something like that.
- 20:38SPEAKER_02: Like that was his response.
- 20:39SPEAKER_02: He was like, we got paid this and held them to that.
- 20:43SPEAKER_02: And it was less.
- 20:44SPEAKER_02: So yeah.
- 20:44SPEAKER_02: Ouch.
- 20:45SPEAKER_05: Owies.
- 20:46SPEAKER_05: Uh let's move it on.
- 20:47SPEAKER_05: Uh Texas uh lost in, I think it was overtime to Texas Tech.
- 20:51SPEAKER_05: Uh, congratulations to Joe Maguire and uh the Red Razors and Lubbock.
- 20:55SPEAKER_05: Big win.
- 20:56SPEAKER_05: You know, Texas hired this uh Texas Tech hired this uh former Texas high school quarterback, all Texas guys.
- 21:02SPEAKER_05: I know it's a massive win for them.
- 21:04SPEAKER_05: He was even uh trolling Texas a little bit since they're leaving to the SEC afterwards.
- 21:08SPEAKER_05: Um, good run from Texas Tech.
- 21:10SPEAKER_05: Obviously, anytime you beat anytime you beat a rival's great news.
- 21:12SPEAKER_05: I don't put a lot in stock into it because I just think Texas is so much better when Quinn Ewers is playing.
- 21:18SPEAKER_05: The quarterback, the Star quarterback who got hurt in the Bama game is not playing right now.
- 21:22SPEAKER_05: Hudson card is fine, but they are going to be.
- 21:25SPEAKER_05: I still think Stark has them paying attention, has him dialed in.
- 21:29SPEAKER_05: I think we're gonna see a much better version of Texas.
- 21:32SPEAKER_05: And they say one or two possible weeks.
- 21:34SPEAKER_05: I know he dressed this week, but he was never gonna play.
- 21:36SPEAKER_05: I think they I think he's back soon, so that's that's what I'm gonna read on Texas.
- 21:39SPEAKER_05: They'll they'll be fine.
- 21:41SPEAKER_02: Um, this is just one of those games.
- 21:43SPEAKER_02: Um, Texas Tech played a really good game.
- 21:46SPEAKER_02: They should have won in regulation.
- 21:48SPEAKER_02: Probably.
- 21:48SPEAKER_02: Um, Hudson Car played really well.
- 21:50SPEAKER_02: Uh, he he made some really fantastic throws.
- 21:53SPEAKER_02: B.
- 21:53SPEAKER_02: John Robinson looked really good.
- 21:55SPEAKER_02: He did cough up the ball in overtime that that sort of sealed the win for Texas Tech.
- 22:00SPEAKER_02: But um, this is just one of those games where this is college football.
- 22:04SPEAKER_02: You know, it's not we we're we're getting far enough along into the season where we can quit with the knee-jerk reactions.
- 22:12SPEAKER_02: And I think we are starting to know what Texas is, and they're a good team, and they're a lot like Arkansas, but good teams can lose on the road to other good teams.
- 22:20SPEAKER_02: Yeah, period.
- 22:22SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 22:22SPEAKER_05: Uh hopefully, hopefully they can turn they can get a turn on quickly.
- 22:26SPEAKER_05: And again, with when when Quinn Ewers is back, um, they're I still think they're a different team.
- 22:31SPEAKER_05: I want to see what Texas looks like post that.
- 22:32SPEAKER_05: So I'm not gonna I'm not gonna dunk on them too hard for losing a Texas tech.
- 22:35SPEAKER_02: We should yeah, we we love dunking on Texas.
- 22:38SPEAKER_02: That's you know part of it.
- 22:39SPEAKER_02: The history of our show.
- 22:40SPEAKER_02: I'm not going to do it.
- 22:41SPEAKER_02: I just this is not this week.
- 22:44SPEAKER_02: And they beat him flat out.
- 22:46SPEAKER_05: They did.
- 22:47SPEAKER_05: Moving on.
- 22:48SPEAKER_05: Ohio State uh rolled against Wisconsin.
- 22:50SPEAKER_05: We already talked about how bad the Big Ten Big Ten West was.
- 22:53SPEAKER_05: Um, is Ohio State going to be the team to cruise the 12-0 the easiest?
- 22:58SPEAKER_05: I, you know, I'm looking around.
- 22:59SPEAKER_05: I mean, like, I just think they're Michigan State's not who they were.
- 23:02SPEAKER_05: Iowa Ruckers, not a problem.
- 23:04SPEAKER_05: Indiana's 3-0, but they haven't played anybody, obviously.
- 23:06SPEAKER_05: Northwestern is imploding.
- 23:08SPEAKER_05: Pat Fitzgerald might get fired this year.
- 23:10SPEAKER_05: Um, I after the Michigan-Maryland game, which I want to talk about in a second, um I think they have the easiest path 12-0 in the country.
- 23:18SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think um Wisconsin is is a pretty disappointing team up until this point.
- 23:25SPEAKER_02: They were one of those teams that, you know, early preseason, you probably pencil it into uh kind of a top 15, you know, competing maybe for second or third, you know, in in the conference.
- 23:38SPEAKER_02: And um they're just not not looking up to snuff.
- 23:42SPEAKER_02: No, um, they lost to a good Washington State team, which we should probably be looking at Washington State a little bit more.
- 23:49SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean they're they're kind of legit right now.
- 23:51SPEAKER_05: The pack does there's a lot of interesting things happening to Pac-12.
- 23:54SPEAKER_05: I'm trying to convert more of my attention over there.
- 23:55SPEAKER_05: But yeah, going to Penn State's gonna be tough, but I the rest of the schedule, all of a sudden, you know, now they've survived the Notre Dame game, Wisconsin gave them they just I'm looking around their schedule.
- 24:04SPEAKER_05: I've Michigan State being a shell who they were.
- 24:07SPEAKER_05: We'll see.
- 24:08SPEAKER_05: Uh Michigan, Maryland.
- 24:10SPEAKER_05: Uh, this game was much closer than it should have been.
- 24:12SPEAKER_05: Michigan ended up winning by three.
- 24:14SPEAKER_05: Is is Maryland better?
- 24:16SPEAKER_05: I think I think the answer I know the answer but I'm gonna ask your.
- 24:19SPEAKER_05: I know my answer I want to ask yours.
- 24:20SPEAKER_05: Is Maryland better than we thought they were, or is Michigan worse than we thought they were?
- 24:27SPEAKER_02: Um both.
- 24:30SPEAKER_02: Sorry, I have to, but no, I mean that's my answer.
- 24:33SPEAKER_02: This is this is kind of one of those situations where Maryland actually played a tough game before the the Michigan game to kind of get them ready.
- 24:41SPEAKER_02: They had a pretty tough game against SMU and Michigan played nobody, and so this was a little bit of a wake-up call for them.
- 24:50SPEAKER_02: I think um playing you know, an actual opponent week four.
- 24:56SPEAKER_02: I think in in some ways it benefits you to open up with with a couple games against teams with a pulse just to get your guys ready.
- 25:03SPEAKER_02: I mean, the Maryland is I mean, Michigan has literally been sleepwalking for three weeks, so you know, we don't know what they're capable of at home the whole time, too.
- 25:10SPEAKER_02: I think maybe one road game.
- 25:12SPEAKER_02: And we don't know what they can do.
- 25:14SPEAKER_02: I don't know how good they are.
- 25:16SPEAKER_02: I I think four is is probably too high to rank them at this point.
- 25:21SPEAKER_05: They haven't earned it based by anything they've done this year, except for but blow the doors off Hawaii.
- 25:26SPEAKER_05: Congrats, I guess.
- 25:27SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think Vandy put up 66 against Hawaii or something.
- 25:30SPEAKER_02: So neat, yeah.
- 25:32SPEAKER_05: Cool, man.
- 25:33SPEAKER_05: Well, that's great.
- 25:34SPEAKER_05: Um, I mean, obviously, Michigan's uh Blake Corham is uh is is absolute stud.
- 25:38SPEAKER_05: He rushed for 240 yards, I think, or something in that game.
- 25:40SPEAKER_05: JJ McCarthy is clearly the starter and should be.
- 25:44SPEAKER_05: Um, but they've got to get better.
- 25:46SPEAKER_05: If they have any chance of threatening Ohio State, they have to score 31 points on Iowa this week.
- 25:55SPEAKER_05: And they can't be special teams and they're not gonna score that on Iowa this week.
- 25:58SPEAKER_02: If they're gonna win, then they'll probably win comfortably, but they're not gonna they're not gonna blow the doors off them like you would want to see.
- 26:04SPEAKER_05: They might.
- 26:04SPEAKER_05: I mean, I don't think I we'll talk about we'll talk about them when we do the preview.
- 26:08SPEAKER_05: But I mean, I think they have to if they have any real if anybody has any realistic uh aspirations of Michigan going to the horseshoe the last week of season and beating that team, because that team will score 40 on Michigan for sure.
- 26:20SPEAKER_05: So the question is can Michigan do it on them?
- 26:22SPEAKER_05: And if they can't do it against Iowa, who's a good defense and at least as good of Iowa State, if not better, then what we said earlier, the Big Ten East is over too.
- 26:31SPEAKER_05: Give it to oh, go ahead and give it to Ohio State.
- 26:33SPEAKER_05: We're done, we're done here, I think.
- 26:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think you know, when you have a team like Michigan in there and you have the ability to kind of walk through your schedule, you can figure a lot out.
- 26:45SPEAKER_02: And so when you look at these games later in the season, you don't know who's gonna emerge, you don't know who you know is gonna continue to get better throughout the year.
- 26:54SPEAKER_02: And that's what's great about college football.
- 26:55SPEAKER_02: I mean, we've got guys that no one has ever heard of that by the end of the season are gonna be first round draft picks potentially.
- 27:02SPEAKER_02: Um, and so yeah, there's gonna be some of that with a pro with a team that's recruited and a program that's recruited like Michigan.
- 27:09SPEAKER_02: There's probably some guys that are gonna emerge.
- 27:11SPEAKER_02: Uh, and that's what you hope for.
- 27:13SPEAKER_02: And that's that's the player development that you want to see.
- 27:17SPEAKER_02: Nice.
- 27:17SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 27:18SPEAKER_05: Uh, we'll see.
- 27:19SPEAKER_05: I need I need more out of Michigan if we're if we're gonna take them seriously as a top five team.
- 27:23SPEAKER_02: So yeah, Maryland, good good work for them.
- 27:25SPEAKER_05: Hey, good work, Maryland.
- 27:26SPEAKER_05: Talia, Talia Tungavailoa is good, is flat out good.
- 27:29SPEAKER_05: Rakeem Jarrett is a stud receiver.
- 27:31SPEAKER_05: Michael Oxley is a good coach, he knows offenses.
- 27:33SPEAKER_05: They're gonna be fine.
- 27:34SPEAKER_05: They are going to beat Michigan State.
- 27:35SPEAKER_05: I'm looking forward to it.
- 27:36SPEAKER_05: Can't wait to talk about that later in the season.
- 27:38SPEAKER_05: Uh, but let's keep it rolling.
- 27:39SPEAKER_05: Uh, Baylor, nice win against Iowa State.
- 27:42SPEAKER_05: The line moved against him.
- 27:44SPEAKER_05: Vegas loved Iowa State, and they got a nice win 31-24.
- 27:48SPEAKER_05: Um, I don't know if you saw one of the highlights of on the highlights of the game.
- 27:51SPEAKER_05: So, Dave Aranda, the head coach, who everyone knows, um Mike and I are both super bullish on.
- 27:55SPEAKER_05: Really cerebral, doesn't talk much.
- 27:57SPEAKER_05: He did not one, not two, but three uh windmill arm butt slaps of his defensive coaches on the sideline of the game.
- 28:06SPEAKER_05: He did a little clap clap, he hit one, he'll clap, clap, did another, and clap, clap, hit a third.
- 28:12SPEAKER_05: It was awesome.
- 28:12SPEAKER_05: I'm never I honestly, as even as LSU defensive coordinator for four years, I think I heard him say seven words.
- 28:17SPEAKER_05: So it's nice to have see that guy show a little bit of life.
- 28:21SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you really rarely see three consecutive windmill butt slaps.
- 28:25SPEAKER_02: I mean, one is great.
- 28:26SPEAKER_02: What is two is icing on the cake, but three is like unheard of.
- 28:30SPEAKER_05: And the coaches are like you could they are jacked, they are ready, they are so excited too.
- 28:34SPEAKER_05: It was that they weren't caught off guard, they were signed up, they knew the experience they were in for, and they loved it.
- 28:38SPEAKER_05: So I just Google that if you have time.
- 28:41SPEAKER_05: Baylor, Dave Aranda butt slap.
- 28:43SPEAKER_05: It might take you to a weird place, but trust me.
- 28:45SPEAKER_05: Hopefully, it gets not safe for work.
- 28:47SPEAKER_05: Maybe Google incognito that.
- 28:49SPEAKER_05: Maybe Google Incognito where you want to go.
- 28:51SPEAKER_05: Uh, let's keep it rolling.
- 28:52SPEAKER_05: Uh Texas AM, nice butt uh uh bounce back.
- 28:56SPEAKER_05: Couple crazy things happened in that crazy that game was at Arkansas, played at Jerry World in Dallas, neutral site for the two of them.
- 29:02SPEAKER_05: Tons and tons of history.
- 29:03SPEAKER_05: Arkansas won last year.
- 29:05SPEAKER_05: Um, this game had so many crazy things happen.
- 29:08SPEAKER_05: Uh, the the KJ Jefferson fumble, uh, which was stripped by the a safety, taken away by the other Texas AM guy who ran it back for 75 yards.
- 29:17SPEAKER_05: Um, the game ended in a field goal that went off the top of the uprights.
- 29:24SPEAKER_05: Yeah, not the side, not the ding-dong that you're used to.
- 29:27SPEAKER_05: It was like a mortar shot.
- 29:28SPEAKER_05: It went up and hit the top.
- 29:30SPEAKER_05: I don't think I've ever seen that.
- 29:31SPEAKER_02: I've watched thousands of hours of college football.
- 29:34SPEAKER_05: I don't think I've ever seen and to end the game to be down 23-21, clearly had the power.
- 29:39SPEAKER_05: It was it needed to be six inch, six inches to the left.
- 29:42SPEAKER_05: Not even, and it's it's good.
- 29:43SPEAKER_02: No, even maybe one inch and it's maybe one inch, it might have bounced ricocheted, just wild ending.
- 29:48SPEAKER_02: Um Mighty Ducks, you know, right off the right off the post.
- 29:55SPEAKER_02: Triple D went wide.
- 29:56SPEAKER_02: One inch and it would have gone in.
- 29:58SPEAKER_05: Would have gone in.
- 29:59SPEAKER_05: Um, Anae Smith, their uh big playmaker outside, went down with that's a lower leg injury.
- 30:03SPEAKER_05: I saw it was a leg fracture, it was kind of pretty gnarly best wide receiver.
- 30:07SPEAKER_05: He's their outside of um uh Ashane, Ashen Ashen, ash the running back who is awesome, by the way.
- 30:13SPEAKER_05: Um, they don't have anything on offense, um, frankly, uh to write home about.
- 30:18SPEAKER_05: So, I mean, Texas AM, that is a huge Texas AM's offense was two guys, Aneas Smith and Derek Ashain.
- 30:24SPEAKER_05: They're running back, and and they were already a bad offense, and they were already a bad offense.
- 30:29SPEAKER_05: Um, Max Johnson, solid game.
- 30:31SPEAKER_05: He got the win.
- 30:32SPEAKER_05: Good for him.
- 30:32SPEAKER_05: You know, it's funny.
- 30:33SPEAKER_05: I was thinking about Max Johnson, former LSU quarterback now starting at Texas AM, who he reminds me of with his play style, and I figured it out.
- 30:40SPEAKER_05: It's his dad when he was a Redskin in the 90s.
- 30:43SPEAKER_05: He is so slow, he's just like his dad.
- 30:46SPEAKER_05: He can't move.
- 30:48SPEAKER_05: The guy he he steps back, he has the large the slow motion cockback, like he makes reasonably good decisions.
- 30:55SPEAKER_05: He does makes he makes game manager.
- 30:57SPEAKER_05: He's game manager.
- 30:58SPEAKER_05: Um uh we're gonna talk about the Texas AM Mississippi State game.
- 31:02SPEAKER_05: Um, but it's my I I say this to underscore that losing a nice smith is a humongous blow to that offense, and I just don't know that Texas AM can do it with just with just the defense, which is getting better, and Derek Hashane, because that guy's also carrying the ball a lot.
- 31:17SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think um this far into the season, the hope that Tex Texas AM fans had you know the the goal for the season started out, you know, playoff national championship.
- 31:33SPEAKER_02: After the Appalachian State game, it was like maybe we can compete for the SEC West.
- 31:39SPEAKER_02: Now it's like let's have a decent season because things are unraveling quickly, even though they won that game, they look rough.
- 31:46SPEAKER_02: I mean, they're the early opening line against Bama for them is um Bama by 20 and a half for not this week for next weekend.
- 31:54SPEAKER_04: Um so that sounds right.
- 31:59SPEAKER_02: That's an indicator of where they are.
- 32:01SPEAKER_02: Granted, there's a huge drop-off, you know, after Georgia and Bama for the rest of the SAC, but yeah, that's not where they want to be.
- 32:08SPEAKER_05: No, it's not where I want to go.
- 32:08SPEAKER_05: Sorry, I said Derek Ashain, I meant Devin Ashane.
- 32:10SPEAKER_05: He had he had 19 carries for 159 yards, and he looks good.
- 32:14SPEAKER_05: I didn't know this until uh after the game.
- 32:16SPEAKER_05: He's actually a sprinter as well.
- 32:17SPEAKER_05: I think high school, he's a high school sprinter.
- 32:19SPEAKER_05: He is fast.
- 32:20SPEAKER_05: Like he takes he you can tell just by look at the ball, he's gonna be playing on Sundays.
- 32:24SPEAKER_05: So obviously, Mississippi State and everybody in the rest of the schedule is gonna be keen on on him.
- 32:29SPEAKER_05: Texas AM and that archaic offense that Jimbo's that Jimbo is so just stubborn about not changing, they're gonna have to find something, or they're gonna be Texas eight and four, which is what the kind of the joke is.
- 32:40SPEAKER_05: Or worse, or worse.
- 32:41SPEAKER_05: You know, the SEC West is every any given Saturday.
- 32:44SPEAKER_05: Even even Lowly Auburn give people fits.
- 32:46SPEAKER_03: So, yeah.
- 32:48SPEAKER_05: Uh cool, cool, cool, cool.
- 32:49SPEAKER_05: Uh let's keep it rolling.
- 32:50SPEAKER_05: Um uh USC, my other bold prediction, uh escaped with a win.
- 32:54SPEAKER_05: Oregon State is live.
- 32:56SPEAKER_05: That was they are really good.
- 32:57SPEAKER_05: Uh USC run defense is terrible, uh, but they get a lot of interceptions.
- 33:01SPEAKER_05: They're like they're like leading the country in interceptions, they're an opportunistic defense.
- 33:05SPEAKER_02: They are, and that's one of the things I was gonna say.
- 33:07SPEAKER_02: Um, Oregon State turned the ball over four times, four interceptions.
- 33:12SPEAKER_02: It's tough.
- 33:12SPEAKER_05: It's hard to win hard to win games that way.
- 33:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you don't predict that kind of thing, but um USC is doing it to people regularly.
- 33:19SPEAKER_02: And Caleb Williams is one of the most efficient passers in the country.
- 33:23SPEAKER_02: He uh he is I think he's yet to throw an interception.
- 33:26SPEAKER_02: That sounds right.
- 33:27SPEAKER_02: And so, you know, when you have that kind of turnover differential, you're gonna win games.
- 33:31SPEAKER_02: And you know, that we we we talked about them doing it on offense.
- 33:35SPEAKER_02: It was good to see them win in a low-scoring battle.
- 33:40SPEAKER_05: Yep, because I was because that game at that game at Utah, which you and I talked about previewed like five weeks ago, whatever.
- 33:45SPEAKER_05: Um, tech Utah is good at defense.
- 33:47SPEAKER_05: Cam rising is good as good at offense, and Utah is a heck of a place to play with altitude.
- 33:53SPEAKER_05: Um, so USC able to get a gritty win against a very live Oregon State team, which is no pushover.
- 33:59SPEAKER_05: The big the whole pack troll is better than we thought it was, much like the Big 12.
- 34:03SPEAKER_05: Um, yep.
- 34:04SPEAKER_05: Washington looking really good.
- 34:05SPEAKER_05: Washington State looking good.
- 34:07SPEAKER_02: They got to get better on defense, and I think they will, but um it's good for them to get to survive a game like this where they're actually tested.
- 34:14SPEAKER_05: Yes, they sure did.
- 34:16SPEAKER_05: Sure did.
- 34:17SPEAKER_05: Um I think that's all.
- 34:18SPEAKER_05: I think that's all I got for this past week.
- 34:20SPEAKER_05: Is there anything else you want to talk about?
- 34:23SPEAKER_05: Um what happened this past week of football?
- 34:25SPEAKER_02: Uh, we're gonna cover the homers.
- 34:28SPEAKER_02: So I do want to give a shout out to the Missouri Auburn pillow fight.
- 34:32SPEAKER_02: Oh my god.
- 34:32SPEAKER_02: Um, that was one of the worst games in the SEC.
- 34:35SPEAKER_02: It was embarrassing.
- 34:37SPEAKER_02: Both teams looked terrible.
- 34:38SPEAKER_02: The ending is unbelievable.
- 34:40SPEAKER_02: Yeah, Missouri just gave that game away.
- 34:42SPEAKER_02: If you're an Auburn fan, you're glad to get the win.
- 34:45SPEAKER_02: At the same time, you're ready for Brian Harson to get fired.
- 34:48SPEAKER_02: So you're kind of like, I kind of wish we would have lost that game.
- 34:51SPEAKER_02: Um yeah, that was a just a disaster ending for Missouri.
- 34:57SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 34:58SPEAKER_05: Uh Bama beat Vanderbilt 55 to 3.
- 35:01SPEAKER_05: What else is new?
- 35:02SPEAKER_05: Uh, they're obviously looking ahead to um at Arkansas after next week.
- 35:05SPEAKER_05: So Vanderbilt's looking ahead to basketball season and baseball season.
- 35:10SPEAKER_05: Um, not not much, not much to say there.
- 35:13SPEAKER_05: Um, yeah, cool.
- 35:14SPEAKER_05: I think I'm ready.
- 35:15SPEAKER_05: I think I'm ready to move on to um next week.
- 35:17SPEAKER_05: So let's do it.
- 35:18SPEAKER_05: Let's go.
- 35:19SPEAKER_05: Very cool.
- 35:19SPEAKER_05: Uh so before we do that, um well let's talk about uh homers first because that will give us a little chance to kind of dive into um let's do homers, let's do reverse this way.
- 35:27SPEAKER_05: Let's do the homers first, and then we'll do the three uh headliners first.
- 35:31SPEAKER_05: That way we can talk about last week and this week.
- 35:33SPEAKER_05: Um, let's start with what we've every what listener wants to hear about right now.
- 35:38SPEAKER_05: How tell me about your Saturday?
- 35:40SPEAKER_02: Yeah, um, it was awesome.
- 35:43SPEAKER_02: Um and I know that people probably don't understand this because they look at Tennessee and they say, you know, your top 10 cusp team this so far this year, probably overrated, granted, right now.
- 35:57SPEAKER_02: Um, and Florida just got beat up by Kentucky, and it's a 10 and a half point spread, and it's at home.
- 36:05SPEAKER_02: And so why is this such a big win?
- 36:07SPEAKER_02: But it's just the history of it.
- 36:09SPEAKER_02: It's just the history of it.
- 36:10SPEAKER_02: We Kentucky or Florida, we've lost to bad Florida teams, we've lost to good Florida teams, we've lost in the most inexplicable ways you can imagine.
- 36:19SPEAKER_02: We've lost on every single weird Hail Mary scenario that you can think of.
- 36:24SPEAKER_02: And um, I just thought this game was different, it felt different.
- 36:28SPEAKER_02: Uh, this team feels different, and um, we talked about kind of the the keys to the game last week a little bit, and um at one point I I had my parents over and we were watching the game on the patio, and I said kind of midway through, I was like, this literally has like every check the box of how Florida could manufacture an upset.
- 36:53SPEAKER_02: Um and it did, and Tennessee still found a way to win the game.
- 36:57SPEAKER_02: Anthony Richardson went off.
- 36:59SPEAKER_02: Um Tennessee turned the ball over.
- 37:03SPEAKER_02: Um but they found a way to win.
- 37:06SPEAKER_05: But you got the win.
- 37:07SPEAKER_05: You know, I will say that game was probably close.
- 37:08SPEAKER_05: I mean, I I thought I thought Tennessee looked like a just to me when I watched that game, it was like Tennessee is uh is a good team, and they are they are they're better than Florida.
- 37:17SPEAKER_05: I watched two football teams.
- 37:18SPEAKER_05: That that game with the end, the ending was a little wonky.
- 37:20SPEAKER_02: Ending got so screwy, yeah.
- 37:22SPEAKER_02: I mean, I felt like the game was over with like eight minutes to go, and then like two minutes ago, I was like, oh my god.
- 37:28SPEAKER_05: And all of a sudden, they all of a sudden they had a chance in Hail Mary to win that game, which would have been that's been the Florida series.
- 37:33SPEAKER_05: That's been the inexplicable Florida series.
- 37:35SPEAKER_05: That would have been the one that they didn't get it, so kudos to Tennessee.
- 37:38SPEAKER_05: Uh, who's Tennessee got this week?
- 37:40SPEAKER_02: We've got a bye week, very nice, and it's much needed because you know, we did it without our best wide receiver and Cedric Tillman, which is insane to take a team that is so reliant on its its top wide out.
- 37:55SPEAKER_02: I mean, he had 18 targets against Pittsburgh, and our offense didn't miss a beat.
- 37:59SPEAKER_02: After four weeks, we're the number one offense in the country.
- 38:04SPEAKER_02: Soak that in.
- 38:05SPEAKER_02: Two two years into the Josh Heipel era.
- 38:07SPEAKER_02: It's gotta feel good.
- 38:08SPEAKER_02: It's gotta feel good.
- 38:09SPEAKER_02: It does feel good.
- 38:09SPEAKER_02: We've got a lot to fix on defense, obviously, but yeah, um, they, you know, they've looked good against Pitt.
- 38:18SPEAKER_02: They stopped the run.
- 38:19SPEAKER_02: I mean, I think they they just keyed up on Anthony Richardson and said beat us through the air, and they played soft and they played soft in coverage, and he did, which is frustrating to a from a fan's perspective, um, but it still got the win.
- 38:32SPEAKER_02: So, you know, he had a career day and he played really well.
- 38:35SPEAKER_02: I mean, hats off to him.
- 38:36SPEAKER_02: They said beat us, and he did his damnedest to do it, and he played to his ceiling, which he hasn't done probably up till now.
- 38:44SPEAKER_02: And he did, he looked awesome.
- 38:46SPEAKER_02: He looked awesome.
- 38:47SPEAKER_05: He did his part.
- 38:47SPEAKER_05: Uh, Florida did not help him.
- 38:49SPEAKER_05: Billy Napier didn't help him.
- 38:50SPEAKER_05: That personal, that Ingspul personal foul call.
- 38:52SPEAKER_05: It's just like they and they don't have the Florida doesn't have the weapons and the dudes on defense that they typically have.
- 38:57SPEAKER_05: Um, so I I mean I agree with you.
- 38:59SPEAKER_05: Anthony, he did his part.
- 39:01SPEAKER_05: The rest of Florida's not there.
- 39:02SPEAKER_05: Um, Coose, Tennessee taking advantage, sky's limit for Tennessee, Florida.
- 39:06SPEAKER_05: See, in 2023.
- 39:08SPEAKER_05: Uh we'll run it back.
- 39:09SPEAKER_05: They're still a good team.
- 39:10SPEAKER_05: They're still a good team.
- 39:11SPEAKER_05: Although you did you did kind of put out the blueprint for other teams.
- 39:13SPEAKER_05: I mean, LSU's gonna play him later this year.
- 39:15SPEAKER_05: It's gonna, you know, this whole season is gonna be stop him, and you've probably you you have a really good chance of beating this team because there's aren't that many other things there.
- 39:23SPEAKER_05: Uh, very cool.
- 39:24SPEAKER_05: Uh, I'm gonna talk about uh LSU a little bit.
- 39:27SPEAKER_05: LSU took care of business big time, 38-0 over New Mexico Lobos, uh improved to 3-1.
- 39:33SPEAKER_05: Uh, the big thing for LSU is our defense just got this has has improved tremendously since the Florida State week.
- 39:39SPEAKER_05: Uh, secondary really showed out.
- 39:41SPEAKER_05: BJ Ogelari again showed himself why he's one of the best defensive linemen in the country, why LSU's D-line is one of the best, deepest units.
- 39:48SPEAKER_05: Um, John Emery, we got back, he had a nice day, uh, 50 yards, five yards, five yards of carry.
- 39:54SPEAKER_05: Uh, things got better.
- 39:55SPEAKER_05: Everybody took care of what they're supposed to do.
- 39:57SPEAKER_05: This LSU team has been making personnel changes on both sides of the ball consistently, as this is Brian Kelly's fourth game with Mike Denbrook and Matt House with different offseason coordinators.
- 40:06SPEAKER_05: Uh, so it's nice to continue to see them find guys in their right fit.
- 40:12SPEAKER_05: You know, this is so many LSU fans are upset about the Florida State game still because it is a game that if we had had a warm-up, I have no doubt we would have win this game and we're 4-0.
- 40:23SPEAKER_05: Um, but we didn't, and you can't say that because that's just what occasion is don't really.
- 40:26SPEAKER_02: And we don't know how good FSU is either.
- 40:28SPEAKER_02: I mean, we don't they're they're sort of in the same boat as LSU, where you know they're rebuilding and they got the benefit of a couple bounces in that game and they're riding high into the top 25 right now.
- 40:39SPEAKER_02: And no, totally.
- 40:40SPEAKER_05: And I don't want to, I don't that's why I don't want to give that deal a lot of credence.
- 40:42SPEAKER_05: It's just interesting because LSU has changed like the offensive line has changed the lineup has changed substantially.
- 40:47SPEAKER_05: The secondary has changed substantially.
- 40:49SPEAKER_05: Like there is so much new of this team.
- 40:51SPEAKER_05: They've got to find their guys.
- 40:52SPEAKER_05: You are they are, and they every week this team looks a little different on personnel, and you're seeing that.
- 40:57SPEAKER_05: So I'm excited to see that.
- 40:58SPEAKER_02: Um, Jalen Daniels continues to grow, and they're finding how to they're finding out how to use him because that's what it looks to me like they're allowing him to be a little bit more of an athlete and they're letting him run more.
- 41:12SPEAKER_02: He's he's making plays outside of the system a little bit, and as they continue to see that, they're gonna be able to scheme up plays for him to do that more correct intentionally.
- 41:24SPEAKER_05: Yeah, and the first thing that everyone notices is how good he is at tempo.
- 41:26SPEAKER_05: So I think LSU is gonna continue to be running more and more tempo uh packages throughout the season because he really does do well in there.
- 41:32SPEAKER_05: He's he likes he likes keeping keeping the clock, keeping the things moving, getting the line and going.
- 41:37SPEAKER_05: So we'll see about that.
- 41:38SPEAKER_05: Uh, LSU is playing uh at Auburn.
- 41:41SPEAKER_05: Uh Auburn is a absolute dumpster fire.
- 41:44SPEAKER_05: Uh, this is uh LSU's, I think, biggest uh point spread event.
- 41:47SPEAKER_05: I think LSU is minus eight and a half or nine at this point.
- 41:49SPEAKER_02: So I think eight and a half.
- 41:50SPEAKER_05: Eight and a half.
- 41:51SPEAKER_05: Um Auburn is bad.
- 41:53SPEAKER_05: They are batting it a hurt.
- 41:54SPEAKER_05: Way they're they've got tank Bigsby, they've got a handful of SEC guys in that defense.
- 41:58SPEAKER_05: Um, I'm feeling really good.
- 42:00SPEAKER_05: Jordan Hare is a tough place to play, and LSU has had a really tough time beating Auburn at Jordan Hare, but this is just an Auburn program that is in a tailspin that I can't remember being in such a bad.
- 42:13SPEAKER_05: I can't remember an Auburn team that's looked like this.
- 42:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's a good time to ride into Jordan Hare just because the fan base wants them to lose.
- 42:22SPEAKER_02: Let's be honest.
- 42:24SPEAKER_02: The longer that they limp along, the longer that Brian Harson is still the head coach, and so many of them wanted him gone before the season even started.
- 42:34SPEAKER_02: So it's gonna be really easy to take away that home field advantage with a couple just early game plays.
- 42:42SPEAKER_02: I mean, an eight and a half point spread, two teams still finding themselves.
- 42:48SPEAKER_02: This game could really get out of hand, and the you know, the season, for that matter, for Auburn could really get out of hand pretty quickly.
- 42:54SPEAKER_02: Um, they're already looking to next year.
- 42:56SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 42:57SPEAKER_05: My hope is that we get on them early and that we can we can take the crowd out of it immediately because there, I mean, Jordan did I gotta give Auburn a lot of credit, even though the team is atrocious.
- 43:05SPEAKER_05: I have no doubt that it's gonna be a scary atmosphere.
- 43:08SPEAKER_05: It's gonna be really funny.
- 43:09SPEAKER_02: The best thing that could have happened to you in this game already happened.
- 43:12SPEAKER_02: Penn State blasted them at home.
- 43:14SPEAKER_05: Yeah, they sure did.
- 43:15SPEAKER_05: Um, but we also have, I mean, again, we have a lot of new guys.
- 43:17SPEAKER_05: We have we are now starting two freshmen at uh offensive tackles, which is uh which is uh our brand new, our secondary is we're we're putting we're putting those guys out on islands a lot.
- 43:27SPEAKER_05: This team is Auburn is going to test LSU in a lot of ways.
- 43:31SPEAKER_05: Um, and if this game is close and it's weird, given how bad our special teams are, and our special teams are still woeful.
- 43:38SPEAKER_05: Um, I don't I'm I don't like it.
- 43:40SPEAKER_05: So I don't like it.
- 43:41SPEAKER_05: I don't like the game going down that road.
- 43:43SPEAKER_05: So if we can get on top of them early and just kind of make sure that if we can if this game can be over by halftime, I'm it'd be really, really great because Jordan Hare, the voodoo of Jordan Hare is real.
- 43:54SPEAKER_05: So uh being a lookout for that.
- 43:56SPEAKER_05: Uh let's talk about um let's talk about uh Virginia Tech.
- 43:59SPEAKER_05: Virginia Tech, uh this last uh Thursday, they put on Thursday night.
- 44:04SPEAKER_05: Thursday.
- 44:04SPEAKER_05: Um it was on Thursday night football.
- 44:07SPEAKER_05: This the this the it was a beautiful sitting, see beautiful scene.
- 44:11SPEAKER_05: They opened up with Energy Sandman, the orange skies, the place was rocking.
- 44:15SPEAKER_05: Grant Wells had a touchdown, a beautiful touchdown ball in the first drive, and then everything just fell apart.
- 44:24SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 44:25SPEAKER_02: Um I thought that they would be able to ride some of that momentum a little bit longer.
- 44:31SPEAKER_02: Um I don't know.
- 44:33SPEAKER_02: Their defense still plays, their defense still has a lot of bright spots.
- 44:37SPEAKER_02: Grant Wells, I'm just Still questioning.
- 44:40SPEAKER_02: I guess they don't have anybody else.
- 44:42SPEAKER_02: He's just, I mean, I've said it so many times that it, you know, we're four weeks in.
- 44:47SPEAKER_02: Oh, we're only well, yeah.
- 44:49SPEAKER_02: We're five going into five weeks in, and he's just not the guy.
- 44:52SPEAKER_05: With the portal, sometimes like, oh, it's great.
- 44:54SPEAKER_05: You can go to the portal, you can get better.
- 44:56SPEAKER_05: Sometimes the portal, you get worse.
- 44:58SPEAKER_05: I I think I, you know, he's simply he's clearly not the guy.
- 45:01SPEAKER_05: But obviously, they've got tons of offensive issues as well.
- 45:04SPEAKER_05: They're still looking for playmakers on the outside.
- 45:06SPEAKER_05: The offensive line is still, they're still reshuffling the deck.
- 45:08SPEAKER_05: Um, it's still an all new, uh, all new scheme that they're that they're installing.
- 45:14SPEAKER_05: Um, but this team has no identity, as it still, yeah.
- 45:17SPEAKER_05: And which I think, which I think is what we said last week.
- 45:19SPEAKER_05: And you know, it's it's it's it's hard, it's hard to win games when you don't do that.
- 45:27SPEAKER_05: I also just think, frankly, they just need another infusion of talent.
- 45:30SPEAKER_05: They don't have a lot of talent on their roster.
- 45:33SPEAKER_05: You know, I think Brent Pry is a good coach.
- 45:35SPEAKER_05: I think he's a good recruiter.
- 45:36SPEAKER_05: I think they're gonna go back to the transfer portal this year.
- 45:39SPEAKER_05: I think they're gonna recruit their tails off this year.
- 45:41SPEAKER_05: I think I think it's coming.
- 45:42SPEAKER_05: I think help's coming.
- 45:43SPEAKER_05: So relax, hooky fans out there.
- 45:45SPEAKER_05: Do not panic.
- 45:46SPEAKER_05: Um, it's game four of the new regime.
- 45:48SPEAKER_05: Um, but it's not there yet.
- 45:51SPEAKER_02: And West Virginia, I mean, we were they were kind of teetering.
- 45:54SPEAKER_02: They, you know, we we we could we thought they were sort of on that standing 10 count, so to speak.
- 46:00SPEAKER_02: And they bounced back, and that's probably a big turning point for them this year.
- 46:04SPEAKER_02: JT Daniels is a very, very capable quarterback, and he can really lead them to a decent season.
- 46:11SPEAKER_02: And to go on the road at Virginia Tech, even though they've obviously been um kind of a struggling program as of late, um, is this is a big win for them.
- 46:20SPEAKER_02: Virginia Tech, um, brighter, brighter days are ahead, even this year.
- 46:24SPEAKER_02: I think their defense still, I mean, their defense still looks good.
- 46:28SPEAKER_02: They've got to figure some things out on offense.
- 46:32SPEAKER_02: Uh, they've got to lean on the run game probably a little bit more.
- 46:36SPEAKER_02: Um, I don't know.
- 46:38SPEAKER_02: I don't I don't know.
- 46:39SPEAKER_02: I you're just gonna have to survive through the Grant Wells era.
- 46:43SPEAKER_05: This was one of those games, too, which I mean, this despite all the bad that tech is kind of trying to figure out their figure their way through.
- 46:49SPEAKER_05: This is a game that um tech was this close to taking a lead in the half.
- 46:52SPEAKER_05: They gave if you know, I felt like these the this West Virginia team that they had, um tech usually beats this team.
- 47:00SPEAKER_05: They usually don't give away that last minute um touchdown at the halftime, and they come out in the second half ready to play football, and they just had nothing the second half of football.
- 47:08SPEAKER_05: I think they I think they scored three more points the rest of the way, and West Virginia kind of just had their way with them, you know.
- 47:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and you see that a lot with rebuilding programs and with programs without a lot of depth.
- 47:19SPEAKER_02: Um, you hang in there against potentially teams that are probably better than you from a roster standpoint, and then um separate you're feeling good, you're feeling good, and then you know, you look up in the fourth quarter and you've got you know three scores hung on you in the fourth to make it a laughable game, where like as a fan, you felt good about that game for you know 60 minutes or something.
- 47:41SPEAKER_05: Yeah, totally.
- 47:42SPEAKER_05: No, the first half was the first half was promising, the first quarter was promising, and then it's because I went so that's that's enough about the hookies.
- 47:49SPEAKER_05: Uh, let's keep it rolling.
- 47:49SPEAKER_05: Uh UVA, uh UVA, talk about uh Syracuse went to the carrier dome.
- 47:54SPEAKER_05: It's not the carrier dome anymore on the JMA wireless dome or whatever the hell it is.
- 47:58SPEAKER_05: Uh lost a tough one, 22 to 20.
- 48:02SPEAKER_05: Um, I I have some takes.
- 48:04SPEAKER_05: Um one, I want to give UVA credit for fighting.
- 48:08SPEAKER_05: They they got down ugly early.
- 48:10SPEAKER_05: Um, and it looked the game looked like it was gonna be over pretty quickly.
- 48:13SPEAKER_05: They they fought they fought back big time, and I was I was pretty happy with that.
- 48:17SPEAKER_05: Um uh Garrett Schrader kind of went into like I don't know what to like prevent safety, but I don't know why.
- 48:22SPEAKER_05: I don't know why they're I don't know why Syracuse took their foot out of the gas.
- 48:25SPEAKER_05: They had UVA on the ropes and they totally let uh Syracuse back in back into that.
- 48:29SPEAKER_05: Um kudos to UVA's defense.
- 48:31SPEAKER_05: UVA's defense is uh continuing to overperform uh their weight, their weight class.
- 48:37SPEAKER_05: They are fighting above their weight class and all they have all season.
- 48:40SPEAKER_05: Um, the issue for me is Brent Brendan Armstrong.
- 48:43SPEAKER_05: He's just he's not anywhere near as good as he's supposed to be.
- 48:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we talked about this on the Discord, which you um, if you're listening, should be a part of.
- 48:52SPEAKER_02: But yeah, Brendan Armstrong should be playing much better.
- 48:55SPEAKER_02: He went 19 for 38 um with 138 yards, one touchdown, one interception, which is like the most mediocre stat line that you could think of, like especially for a guy's talent, his talent.
- 49:08SPEAKER_05: Yeah, it's not Brent Armstrong's stat line of 2021.
- 49:11SPEAKER_05: We know that now.
- 49:11SPEAKER_05: Granted, his defense might give us 70 points, but he's gonna he's getting his.
- 49:14SPEAKER_05: Like, I don't know.
- 49:15SPEAKER_05: I don't, you know, uh, I understand they're putting in a new system.
- 49:18SPEAKER_05: I understand things are new, they're calling different plays, whatever, but those receivers are still really good.
- 49:24SPEAKER_05: Brent Armstrong is still really good.
- 49:26SPEAKER_05: They need more out of those guys.
- 49:28SPEAKER_05: Plain simple.
- 49:29SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I agree.
- 49:30SPEAKER_02: We talked about it on the Discord to death.
- 49:33SPEAKER_02: I don't get it exactly, but you know, it's a changing of the guard.
- 49:38SPEAKER_02: I'll also say Syracuse, I don't understand them.
- 49:43SPEAKER_02: They keep pulling these games out that they have no business winning.
- 49:46SPEAKER_02: They fumble the ball.
- 49:47SPEAKER_02: Did they fumble three or four times?
- 49:50SPEAKER_02: Three fumbles, three fumbles and an interception.
- 49:53SPEAKER_02: Um, they just keep surviving these weird games.
- 49:57SPEAKER_02: They did the same thing against Purdue.
- 50:00SPEAKER_02: There was a ton of just uh like timely penalties that got pulled up, you know, picked up turnovers that that ended up working out for them.
- 50:10SPEAKER_02: It's just weird.
- 50:11SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 50:11SPEAKER_02: Syracuse is a decent team, but they should probably shouldn't be four and oh.
- 50:15SPEAKER_05: Well, we're gonna find out a lot about them here in a second.
- 50:17SPEAKER_05: Sorry for all that beeping.
- 50:18SPEAKER_05: I was trying to get I was trying to pull up their schedule after this week where they got Wagner, which is a gonna win, they're gonna be five and a go they they're hosting NC State in the dome, which can be tough.
- 50:26SPEAKER_05: Then at Clemson versus Notre Dame, at Pitt versus Florida State, at Wake.
- 50:31SPEAKER_05: That is a six-game super stretch.
- 50:34SPEAKER_02: For the ACC, that's like a juggernaut.
- 50:36SPEAKER_05: Yeah, that's I mean, literally, that's all of the best ACC teams right there, and and plus Notre Dame in five weeks.
- 50:43SPEAKER_05: So it's gonna get really real, really fast.
- 50:46SPEAKER_05: Six weeks, excuse me.
- 50:47SPEAKER_05: And they but they end at Boston College, which might be Boston College in the fighting Rob Reeds, Rob Reed being a friend of Mike and I, the only singular Boston College alumni that I know, and arguably the worst team in college football.
- 50:57SPEAKER_05: They do get them at the end of the season, so they're the so they're bowl season.
- 51:00SPEAKER_05: So Keughts is going to a bowl this week, at least no matter what, but we'll see what they look like.
- 51:04SPEAKER_02: Yeah, they could, you know, if they could win a couple of those, go like eight and four, that'd be a good season for them.
- 51:09SPEAKER_05: Yeah, an awesome season for Syracuse.
- 51:10SPEAKER_05: Um, any more thoughts on uh UVA uh Syracuse before we jump in the UVA Duke?
- 51:14SPEAKER_05: Nope.
- 51:15SPEAKER_05: Cool.
- 51:16SPEAKER_05: Uh UVA is playing, I believe, at Duke.
- 51:19SPEAKER_05: I just had it up a second ago, excuse me.
- 51:20SPEAKER_05: Here it is.
- 51:21SPEAKER_05: Yes, UK Wallace Wade Stadium, Durham, North Carolina.
- 51:24SPEAKER_05: Duke is minus two, minus three, some places.
- 51:27SPEAKER_05: Um, I'm I'm I'm not high on Duke at all.
- 51:29SPEAKER_05: Yeah, uh they're they are also they're they're they're not a very good team.
- 51:33SPEAKER_05: They're three and one as well.
- 51:35SPEAKER_05: Um the if UVA is gonna get to get gonna get to a bowl game, uh, this is one that they may simply have to win.
- 51:41SPEAKER_05: Um I uh is is is the is Duke defense gonna be enough to slow down Brent Armstrong and those guys the way it shouldn't be, but the way the season is going, maybe it is.
- 51:54SPEAKER_02: Um, I don't know.
- 51:55SPEAKER_02: This is another one that just Ian has lined up in his sights because this one could be very wet, it could be very wild.
- 52:05SPEAKER_02: Um, it's in it's in Durham, obviously.
- 52:08SPEAKER_02: Uh so you know, expecting rain.
- 52:11SPEAKER_02: And uh that could put a hamper even further on on Brendan Armstrong's ability to throw the ball.
- 52:17SPEAKER_02: I still like UVA in this game.
- 52:19SPEAKER_02: I don't trust Duke.
- 52:20SPEAKER_02: I know they got off to a fun, you know, their fun storyline.
- 52:24SPEAKER_02: They went undefeated for a few games.
- 52:26SPEAKER_02: They're still they still don't have the talent UVA has.
- 52:30SPEAKER_02: They don't I just this is a UVA game for me.
- 52:34SPEAKER_02: This is a bounce back UVA game for me.
- 52:37SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I'm not I don't particularly love Duke either.
- 52:39SPEAKER_05: I'm not, I'm I don't have much reason to be really excited about them.
- 52:42SPEAKER_05: Um losing to Kansas is obviously actually not that bad, but um Kansas is pretty good.
- 52:48SPEAKER_05: But what they did at N what they did versus NCANT at Northwestern versus Temple, um none of those things are really got me got me excited for them blue devils.
- 52:57SPEAKER_05: Uh, I like UVA.
- 52:58SPEAKER_05: I hope they I hope they get together.
- 53:00SPEAKER_05: I also think what UVA is also dealing with is a little bit of the LSU is dealing with um on just the fact that they are still a new a new coach, new coordinators.
- 53:09SPEAKER_05: They have some carryover, but there are a lot of things that are new.
- 53:12SPEAKER_05: And I still think while I'm I blame a lot of my Brand Armstrong woes on Tony on Coach Elliott for UVA.
- 53:20SPEAKER_05: I do think that he is going to get better as a guy.
- 53:23SPEAKER_05: I still think he's a good hire for them.
- 53:24SPEAKER_05: So I think you're gonna see better production out of Brandon Armstrong.
- 53:28SPEAKER_05: I think he's gonna get that out of him.
- 53:29SPEAKER_05: And Duke is not murderer's row in terms of their defense.
- 53:34SPEAKER_05: There's no reason Brandon Armstrong and these guys can't score 35 points.
- 53:37SPEAKER_05: I like UVA to win this game.
- 53:39SPEAKER_05: Big offensive showing.
- 53:40SPEAKER_05: I'm gonna say UVA 35-24.
- 53:44SPEAKER_02: Nice.
- 53:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I like I like that.
- 53:46SPEAKER_02: I I think it might be a little bit of a closer game, and uh, and especially if uh if Ian rears his ugly head, I think it could be a little bit lower scoring.
- 53:54SPEAKER_02: Um, but yeah, I like UVA to win.
- 53:58SPEAKER_02: Um, don't sleep on on uh Bradley Leonard, uh Duke's quarterback, very efficient.
- 54:04SPEAKER_02: He knows what he's doing.
- 54:05SPEAKER_02: Uh he's an upperclassman, uh, he's got a high completion percentage.
- 54:09SPEAKER_02: It'll be fun to watch the quarterback battle if they're able to throw the ball in the slop.
- 54:13SPEAKER_02: Um, it could be fun to watch if it's a real sloppy game, too.
- 54:17SPEAKER_02: Uh, but yeah, I like UVA either way.
- 54:19SPEAKER_05: Okay, okay.
- 54:20SPEAKER_05: Let's do it.
- 54:20SPEAKER_05: Wahoos.
- 54:21SPEAKER_05: Don't make us don't make us look like fools.
- 54:22SPEAKER_05: All right, cool.
- 54:23SPEAKER_05: Uh let's move on to the other.
- 54:24SPEAKER_05: Uh, we kind of did the reverse.
- 54:25SPEAKER_05: We usually end with the homers, but we're gonna go with the other headlining games.
- 54:28SPEAKER_05: Uh, number seven, Kentucky at number 14, Ole Miss.
- 54:32SPEAKER_05: Uh, this game is at noon on ESPN.
- 54:34SPEAKER_05: Ole Miss opened at like minus five.
- 54:36SPEAKER_05: Um, now it's like minus minus seven, I believe, minus seven and a half.
- 54:40SPEAKER_05: Ole Miss is gonna run the hell out of the ball.
- 54:42SPEAKER_05: Um, I don't know if you've noticed.
- 54:44SPEAKER_05: Uh the Ole Miss is, I mean, obviously they haven't played very many teams uh yet.
- 54:48SPEAKER_02: Uh they haven't been tested at all, actually.
- 54:50SPEAKER_05: Uh Tulsa, Georgia Tech, Troy, and some cool named C-A-R-K.
- 54:54SPEAKER_05: Who's oh, Central Arkansas?
- 54:56SPEAKER_05: Um, but there's but they're running the ball 280, 81 yards a game.
- 55:00SPEAKER_05: Zach Evans.
- 55:01SPEAKER_05: Yes, they are very good offensive team.
- 55:03SPEAKER_05: I kind of think Will Levis in Kentucky is fool's gold, despite what they did to Florida a couple weeks.
- 55:08SPEAKER_05: Um, I got been saying that for like a year, man.
- 55:11SPEAKER_05: I I know you have.
- 55:12SPEAKER_05: I know you have.
- 55:13SPEAKER_05: I got Ole Miss covering, uh, I think it's Ole Miss is coming out party.
- 55:16SPEAKER_05: Um, I'd I I kind of wish Jackson Dart was a little bit better.
- 55:20SPEAKER_05: I think he's good enough for what they're doing.
- 55:21SPEAKER_05: And I think they're gonna, I think they're gonna, I think Lane Kiffin is going to out scheme Kentucky.
- 55:27SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 55:28SPEAKER_02: Kentucky is a solid team.
- 55:30SPEAKER_05: Yes, they are.
- 55:31SPEAKER_02: I'm not taking anything away from them.
- 55:32SPEAKER_02: They've got a solid defense, they always come in with a good game plan.
- 55:36SPEAKER_02: Levis is good.
- 55:37SPEAKER_02: He turns the ball over way too much.
- 55:40SPEAKER_02: Four face in the year for for a guy and going back to last year, he was the most um turnover prone quarterback in the SEC.
- 55:47SPEAKER_02: He is a talent, to be sure.
- 55:50SPEAKER_02: Um, do they get Chris Rodriguez back this week?
- 55:53SPEAKER_02: Well, I believe so.
- 55:54SPEAKER_02: I think they won't help sure.
- 55:56SPEAKER_02: That'll be a good one.
- 55:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that'll that'll help.
- 55:58SPEAKER_02: They're gonna get him back, that'll help a lot.
- 56:00SPEAKER_02: Um, but I still like Ole Miss in a little bit of a squeaker.
- 56:04SPEAKER_02: Um, I just trust Lane Kiffin more in this scenario.
- 56:08SPEAKER_02: Um, but we again we don't know what Ole Miss has done.
- 56:12SPEAKER_02: We don't know who they are.
- 56:13SPEAKER_02: We know a little bit more about Kentucky.
- 56:15SPEAKER_02: They're probably the more balanced team in a game like this.
- 56:20SPEAKER_02: Um, give me the higher scoring team, which I think is gonna be Lane Kiffen and the Ole Miss Rebels.
- 56:27SPEAKER_05: Yep.
- 56:27SPEAKER_05: Go reps.
- 56:28SPEAKER_05: I'm taking that as well.
- 56:29SPEAKER_05: All right, cool.
- 56:30SPEAKER_05: Uh number nine, Oklahoma State um is playing.
- 56:33SPEAKER_05: Um, they are playing versus Baylor, the Baylor Bears.
- 56:37SPEAKER_05: Uh, the Bears are minus two points.
- 56:40SPEAKER_05: Um, this game is at 330 on Fox Monster Game.
- 56:43SPEAKER_05: This is a replay of the Big 12 championship last year.
- 56:46SPEAKER_05: Um, you know Mike Gundy and those boys want to win, but Dave Aranda, um, my favorite coach in the college football, um, is also pretty darn good.
- 56:54SPEAKER_05: Um, and now he's slapping butts on sidelines.
- 56:56SPEAKER_05: So, I mean, all bets are off.
- 56:58SPEAKER_02: You know he's feeling it.
- 56:59SPEAKER_05: All bets are off there.
- 57:00SPEAKER_05: Maybe he's slapping butts off sidelines.
- 57:02SPEAKER_05: You don't know.
- 57:03SPEAKER_05: Um, what do you got on this one?
- 57:05SPEAKER_02: This is gonna be a good one.
- 57:07SPEAKER_02: Um, it's gonna have more defense than we're used to seeing in in the conference.
- 57:10SPEAKER_02: Oh, again, yeah.
- 57:12SPEAKER_02: A replay of last year, and that was a tight one.
- 57:15SPEAKER_02: That was an exciting one.
- 57:17SPEAKER_02: Um, I think it's gonna be a tight game.
- 57:20SPEAKER_02: I kind of lean Oakie State in this one, but I don't have any strong feelings one way or the other, if I'm being honest.
- 57:28SPEAKER_05: Um, Spencer Sanders is back.
- 57:30SPEAKER_05: Spencer Sanders is gonna be ready to roll.
- 57:32SPEAKER_05: Um, they've you know they've they have their last three games, uh, Central Michigan, Arizona State, and uh, I don't even know.
- 57:39SPEAKER_05: Oh, University of Arkansas, Pine Bluff.
- 57:41SPEAKER_05: Um, and they've been scoring boatloads of points.
- 57:44SPEAKER_05: Their lowest score output is 34.
- 57:46SPEAKER_05: That was against Arizona State.
- 57:47SPEAKER_05: Honestly, they could have put up a lot more.
- 57:48SPEAKER_05: Um I I I think the the the what's going to be interesting to watch in this game is going to be how well Baylor can slow down Oklahoma State.
- 57:58SPEAKER_05: Um, I think that's kind of gonna be the thing.
- 58:00SPEAKER_05: I uh Blake Shaper on offense for for Baylor is great.
- 58:04SPEAKER_05: Um, but I Spencer Sanders and this Baylor defense is going to be the difference because they've just been run running over everybody in their schedule so far.
- 58:11SPEAKER_05: Um, and this is gonna be the best test for them to date.
- 58:15SPEAKER_05: So is Spencer Sanders gonna make uh really smart decisions?
- 58:18SPEAKER_05: Is he gonna throw picks?
- 58:19SPEAKER_05: Is Dave Arena gonna confuse him?
- 58:21SPEAKER_05: Um that's gonna be the I think that's gonna be the side of the ball that I'm most interested in.
- 58:25SPEAKER_05: Um I'm take obviously I'm bullish on Baylor.
- 58:27SPEAKER_05: I pick them to go, I don't know, 10 and 2, 11 and 1, make out a big 12.
- 58:30SPEAKER_05: Uh, they're a two-point favorite, which means they're probably neutral, probably uh even on neutral site game.
- 58:35SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I'll take the Bears to cover.
- 58:37SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean that's I don't think you go you could go wrong one way or the other.
- 58:41SPEAKER_02: This is a coin flip game, so it should be a good one.
- 58:45SPEAKER_05: Lego.
- 58:45SPEAKER_05: These are these are this is two of five ranked games this week, by the way.
- 58:49SPEAKER_05: Number five.
- 58:50SPEAKER_05: Number three, uh, we got number 10 NC State at number five, Clemson, uh minus seven.
- 58:57SPEAKER_05: Um, this game is at 7:30 on ABC Memorial Stadium in Clemson, South Carolina.
- 59:02SPEAKER_05: Um, over under is 40 and a half.
- 59:04SPEAKER_05: Well, that's lower than I thought.
- 59:06SPEAKER_02: Um it dropped because it dropped like 12 points or something because of Ian.
- 59:10SPEAKER_02: It's all Ian's fault.
- 59:11SPEAKER_05: So everyone's expecting every game to just be like wet, wet, run the ball, can't can't kick field goals, can't score, passing games are gonna go down.
- 59:19SPEAKER_05: I mean, I understand it.
- 59:20SPEAKER_05: I get it.
- 59:21SPEAKER_05: I mean, it's it's it's you know, South Carolina is in is on the I mean it's sounds like it's not gonna get like hit hard, but it's gonna be sounds like it's gonna be a lot of rain.
- 59:29SPEAKER_05: So a lot of rain means a lot of a lot of running the ball, a lot of big old 2002 1990s, Big Ten football, three yards in a cloud of dust.
- 59:38SPEAKER_05: Um, I mean Will Shipley is a great back, so they're gonna so Clemson is gonna be able to run the game.
- 59:43SPEAKER_05: They probably have the edge in the run game.
- 59:45SPEAKER_05: Probably do.
- 59:46SPEAKER_05: But I would NC State has probably the second best defense in the in the in the ACC.
- 59:51SPEAKER_02: Um and their secondary is legit.
- 59:54SPEAKER_02: So depending on the weather, you know, if if they decide to trust DJ to throw the ball up, uh NC State's secondary might feast.
- 1:00:03SPEAKER_05: Yeah, and I and I wouldn't do that because frankly, Clemson, for all their five stars, they've got a bajillion of them, they don't still don't seem to have wide receivers that are getting anybody really they don't seem to have they're giving anybody matchup nightmares, frankly.
- 1:00:16SPEAKER_05: So I you know, if I'm NC State in that situation, I'm I think you probably are given given what you have in the secondary and what Clemson has yet to really produce and really prove that they have as well.
- 1:00:27SPEAKER_05: I think you're saying DJU beat us.
- 1:00:29SPEAKER_05: Um, so this could be this is gonna be a great game.
- 1:00:32SPEAKER_05: I'm surprised uh Clemson's a is uh is a is a touchdown favorite.
- 1:00:35SPEAKER_05: I I my guess would have been three or four.
- 1:00:37SPEAKER_05: I like Devin O'Leary a lot.
- 1:00:39SPEAKER_05: I think he's just a super smart uh heady quarterback.
- 1:00:41SPEAKER_05: Um I'll take NC State's cover.
- 1:00:44SPEAKER_02: I mean, I might I hate that you're saying that.
- 1:00:47SPEAKER_02: Why?
- 1:00:48SPEAKER_02: Because I was gonna take NC State, and I thought that that was uh really uh a bold, a bold pick.
- 1:00:53SPEAKER_02: But I think Clemson's gonna win.
- 1:00:55SPEAKER_05: I mean, I really but I think I did if I had to bet on that, but I'll take Clemson.
- 1:00:59SPEAKER_05: If this I think NCC I think it's gonna be a close game, and honestly, with such a low over-under like you're talking about, it might be like a seven to ten game.
- 1:01:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah, if no one can score, it all it takes is the uh one bounce one way or the other on on one play to dictate the winner of this game.
- 1:01:14SPEAKER_02: I think for me, um before last week, last weekend, if you would have if you would have put two games in a vacuum, Clemson, Wake Forest, Clemson, NC State, you know, I would have taken the the that Wake opportunity is as the the time that Clemson gets knocked off, not this week against NC State.
- 1:01:33SPEAKER_02: Um but having watched that game against Wake, I think that they give NC State a lot to work with.
- 1:01:41SPEAKER_02: And I think NC State has a good enough defense, and even though, like, like I mentioned earlier, O'Leary and their offense has not clicked as well um as we know that they're capable of this year, this could be the the week that they they kind of figure it out a little bit.
- 1:01:58SPEAKER_02: Um Clemson is still the standard.
- 1:02:01SPEAKER_02: I've said it uh several times in the ACC.
- 1:02:04SPEAKER_02: And so when you play these conference games, they're gonna get everybody's best shot.
- 1:02:08SPEAKER_02: And I think that uh NC State kind of finds a way to put it together on offense and does enough on defense.
- 1:02:14SPEAKER_02: And the weather, I think, kind of makes things a little bit screwy.
- 1:02:17SPEAKER_05: So the thing about these weather games for me is like part of me is like, oh my god, it's so fun when they have these like crazy rainstorms and whatnot.
- 1:02:24SPEAKER_05: But also, like you kind of don't have that game because when that when that game happens, like who knows who's gonna win?
- 1:02:31SPEAKER_05: Like, who knows what ball's gonna get wet and slip out?
- 1:02:33SPEAKER_05: Like, it's like it goes out the window, yeah.
- 1:02:35SPEAKER_05: Which is like which is cool, but makes it less skill.
- 1:02:38SPEAKER_05: It does, and frankly, it kind of it it in in some ways it's crazy because like I mean, we love the college football is played in all weathers, and we love that like it's just like they are playing football in this ridiculous monsoon, but at the same time, like we are robbed of like, well, who's the better team?
- 1:02:53SPEAKER_05: I have no idea.
- 1:02:53SPEAKER_05: But that guy dropped the dropped the soaking wet football on the three-yard line, so they lost a yeah, and that's a swing, and they lost seven-nothing.
- 1:03:01SPEAKER_05: So I don't know with all of these games, we're just have to keep an eye on that.
- 1:03:04SPEAKER_05: You know, we all we very well might be saying after this week, you kind of have to discount like half of the games because they were just total mud bulls, and you know, like we didn't really see these teams, what these teams are gonna look like, but we'll see.
- 1:03:18SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean, if if you uh if you're throwing the ball into 30 mile an hour winds, stuff it's an issue.
- 1:03:24SPEAKER_05: Stuff that's like spiral.
- 1:03:25SPEAKER_05: Hopefully, hopefully hurricane eon uh doesn't uh ruin everybody's day.
- 1:03:30SPEAKER_05: Uh very cool.
- 1:03:31SPEAKER_05: All right, let's quickly run through I got one, two, three, four, five, six, seven games.
- 1:03:34SPEAKER_05: We're starting a new segment.
- 1:03:35SPEAKER_05: Too many.
- 1:03:36SPEAKER_05: No, no, we're starting a new segment.
- 1:03:37SPEAKER_05: It's called One Take.
- 1:03:38SPEAKER_05: Everybody knows the rule to play on Barcelona Sports one by rules.
- 1:03:42SPEAKER_05: Uh Mike, I'm gonna give you the game, and Mike and I are each gonna give you exactly one take on that game.
- 1:03:47SPEAKER_05: Uh so number one, uh Bama at Arkansas.
- 1:03:50SPEAKER_05: Uh Arkansas is plus 17 and a half.
- 1:03:53SPEAKER_05: Go ahead.
- 1:03:56SPEAKER_02: Arkansas limps out of this one with a loss, and their season continues to spiral downward.
- 1:04:03SPEAKER_05: I there we go.
- 1:04:04SPEAKER_05: Arkansas's defense is good.
- 1:04:05SPEAKER_05: They're going to lose, but they're gonna lose by 10.
- 1:04:07SPEAKER_05: Arkansas covers.
- 1:04:08SPEAKER_05: Uh, Michigan at Iowa.
- 1:04:10SPEAKER_05: Iowa is plus 11.
- 1:04:12SPEAKER_05: Um, off the same take I had last time.
- 1:04:14SPEAKER_05: If Michigan has any chance of playing with Ohio State, they gotta score 30 points this game.
- 1:04:20SPEAKER_02: Iowa's defense is so bad, it doesn't matter what Michigan does, they're gonna win the game and they're gonna look bad doing it.
- 1:04:28SPEAKER_05: Wake Forest at Florida State, Florida State is a seven-point favorite.
- 1:04:31SPEAKER_05: Wake Forest is better than Florida State.
- 1:04:34SPEAKER_05: This seven-point swing spread in Florida State's favor is a nonsense.
- 1:04:38SPEAKER_05: Wake is gonna win this game outright.
- 1:04:41SPEAKER_02: Yes, I agree with you.
- 1:04:42SPEAKER_02: FSU is a pretender, they will be exposed, they are not a top 25 team, they probably shouldn't be undefeated, and Wake Forest is good.
- 1:04:51SPEAKER_05: Here we go.
- 1:04:51SPEAKER_05: Texas AM at Mississippi State, Mississippi State minus three and a half.
- 1:04:55SPEAKER_05: That game in Starkville with the Cowboys with that air raid offense is gonna give AM fits.
- 1:05:00SPEAKER_05: This team, this game is a matchup nightmare for Mississippi State, they're gonna win.
- 1:05:05SPEAKER_02: I agree.
- 1:05:06SPEAKER_02: Mississippi State with the Cowbells need more Cowbell.
- 1:05:09SPEAKER_02: Uh AM loses, things begin to fall apart for Jimbo.
- 1:05:14SPEAKER_02: Um, not a good look.
- 1:05:15SPEAKER_05: Not a good look.
- 1:05:16SPEAKER_05: Uh Oregon State at Utah, Utah, 10 and a half point favorite.
- 1:05:20SPEAKER_05: They have completely rebounded since Florida and they are rolling.
- 1:05:23SPEAKER_05: Oregon State, while I respect them with what they did against USC, Utah is too well coached, too disciplined, too balanced.
- 1:05:29SPEAKER_05: Utah covers.
- 1:05:31SPEAKER_02: Um, yeah, I think this is a tough game.
- 1:05:33SPEAKER_02: It's a it's a it's a hard-nosed kind of battle.
- 1:05:36SPEAKER_02: I think it's a closer game than um you think.
- 1:05:40SPEAKER_02: A lot of it done on the ground.
- 1:05:42SPEAKER_02: Utah wins in a close one.
- 1:05:45SPEAKER_05: Uh University of Washington at UCLA, a game that nobody's going to attend.
- 1:05:49SPEAKER_02: Why is this a three and a half point spread?
- 1:05:51SPEAKER_05: Why is three and a half point spread?
- 1:05:53SPEAKER_05: Uh I'm a huge fan of Michael Penix and his big Penix energy.
- 1:05:56SPEAKER_05: Um there's just scoring gogles of points on everybody.
- 1:05:59SPEAKER_05: Uh, I like UW uh to cover the three points.
- 1:06:02SPEAKER_05: No, no problem.
- 1:06:03SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 1:06:04SPEAKER_02: Um nobody cares about UCLA.
- 1:06:06SPEAKER_02: Even UCLA doesn't care about UCLA.
- 1:06:08SPEAKER_02: I don't know why this game Vegas must know something that we don't know.
- 1:06:13SPEAKER_02: Washington should roll.
- 1:06:14SPEAKER_02: Correct.
- 1:06:15SPEAKER_05: They Vegas does know a lot of things that we don't know, though.
- 1:06:17SPEAKER_05: So to be fair, they do.
- 1:06:18SPEAKER_05: Yeah, that's true.
- 1:06:19SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 1:06:19SPEAKER_05: Uh Oklahoma at TCU, uh, six and a half uh point favorites.
- 1:06:24SPEAKER_05: I switched my picks on this.
- 1:06:25SPEAKER_05: If Oklahoma hadn't lost to K-State last week, they would have lost to TCU this week.
- 1:06:29SPEAKER_05: Now they're to come out pissed.
- 1:06:31SPEAKER_05: Sorry, TCU, you got unlucky.
- 1:06:33SPEAKER_05: Um uh TCU 3-0, uh, but you're you're gonna get a motivated Oklahoma.
- 1:06:38SPEAKER_05: Good day.
- 1:06:39SPEAKER_02: Yeah, Kansas State Um just has Oklahoma's number.
- 1:06:43SPEAKER_02: This is not like a weird thing for them.
- 1:06:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah, they just it's just a trip-up game.
- 1:06:48SPEAKER_02: It's for whatever reason, it's a bad matchup.
- 1:06:50SPEAKER_02: Oklahoma doesn't repeat that performance, they learn from it, and uh they should be fine against TCU.
- 1:06:56SPEAKER_02: Very nice.
- 1:06:57SPEAKER_05: Uh, anything else?
- 1:06:58SPEAKER_05: Uh that's that's your those are your uh your your one takes.
- 1:07:01SPEAKER_05: Any other anything else you want you want to speak to before we get out of here?
- 1:07:04SPEAKER_05: I think we're about done.
