- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome back to another episode of Inside the Bus. This
- 0:02Speaker 1: is episode number forty two, historically known as the Jackie
- 0:06Speaker 1: Robinson Pod, but more importantly known as the JP Might
- 0:12Speaker 1: Be Moving to Japan Pod.
- 0:15Speaker 2: Guys, welcome back JP.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Hovey and let's get round on the pause.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Woo.
- 0:21Speaker 1: It's nice to have you back.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Man.
- 0:24Speaker 3: Normally just say it's probably not nice to be back.
- 0:28Speaker 4: Normally I always say it's good to be back. But
- 0:31Speaker 4: after the experience I just had the last seven days
- 0:33Speaker 4: in Japan, I do wish that I was still there.
- 0:37Speaker 4: As much as I love the seat, as much as
- 0:38Speaker 4: I love my coworkers, that country, it's special.
- 0:43Speaker 2: You see it in the last few weeks.
- 0:45Speaker 4: Dude on Twitter too, Maybe just the last week, but
- 0:48Speaker 4: the Japan and America Twitter verse.
- 0:51Speaker 1: The alliance is growing stronger. I mean, it's the closest
- 0:54Speaker 1: we've ever been in Japan pre dating the war.
- 0:56Speaker 2: So have y'all seen this?
- 0:59Speaker 4: Is it?
- 0:59Speaker 3: The stakes?
- 1:00Speaker 2: Yeah, that's part of it.
- 1:01Speaker 1: That kind of was like I think the first Domino
- 1:04Speaker 1: I'm just gonna be like alluded to.
- 1:05Speaker 3: I don't really know.
- 1:06Speaker 1: Yeah, for context, I believe that the Japanese Twitter kind
- 1:11Speaker 1: of infiltrated American Twitter, and all they were doing is
- 1:13Speaker 1: bombarding comments for people, grilling steaks and meats and barbecues
- 1:18Speaker 1: and truly just like it's just a Les surprise bombarda
- 1:22Speaker 1: doo yeah again, and that'll be all we have today, dude.
- 1:26Speaker 4: But I was thinking about that though, like that joke.
- 1:30Speaker 4: I'm like, Japan easily could have just come back and
- 1:32Speaker 4: been like, is that the game you want to play?
- 1:35Speaker 3: If we want to, Like, yeah, I know that.
- 1:38Speaker 2: We're like super cool with them now, I know, And
- 1:41Speaker 2: I mean there's reason.
- 1:43Speaker 4: I've been there. I'm the ambassador. They're good people, but
- 1:47Speaker 4: we were the bad guys. Yeah, we were the bad guys.
- 1:50Speaker 4: And I don't know, I don't know if you saw
- 1:52Speaker 4: the the video after Japan played England yesterday and all
- 1:57Speaker 4: the Japanese fans stayed after and picked up all.
- 1:59Speaker 2: The trash from the stadium and it's just like, dude,
- 2:02Speaker 2: it's they do.
- 2:03Speaker 4: That was one of my favorite parts is they do
- 2:05Speaker 4: all of the little things right in Japan, and some
- 2:08Speaker 4: of it I'm sure would be frustrating if you moved
- 2:11Speaker 4: over there and try to live it, because it's as
- 2:14Speaker 4: small as going across a crosswalk. There's zero jaywalking street
- 2:18Speaker 4: will be empty and everybody will just stand there and wait,
- 2:21Speaker 4: and it could be a line of like one hundred people,
- 2:23Speaker 4: but they're not gonna go, which is just awesome. Honking
- 2:27Speaker 4: is basically illegal, so you don't got to worry about
- 2:30Speaker 4: road rage because everybody is on their piece of queues,
- 2:33Speaker 4: not distracted, not doing anything. I heard like maybe two honks,
- 2:36Speaker 4: and Tokyo is significantly bigger than they're probably friendly hanks, right,
- 2:40Speaker 4: it's like their friends the subways. Dude. One time, I
- 2:44Speaker 4: had a horrible moment because I was trying to call
- 2:48Speaker 4: my friend that we were meeting up with, and you know,
- 2:49Speaker 4: it can be confusing because you can't really understand any
- 2:52Speaker 4: of the signs. And I called him and the train
- 2:55Speaker 4: was getting there and he's telling me like, hey, get
- 2:57Speaker 4: on this one and meet me here. And I'm like,
- 3:00Speaker 4: are you sure it's this one? Do you know where
- 3:01Speaker 4: I'm at? He's like, yeah, I get on, And so
- 3:03Speaker 4: I'm on the phone as I'm stepping on and I'm
- 3:06Speaker 4: talking and it was kind of loud, and then I
- 3:08Speaker 4: just like fully stop and look around and everyone's just
- 3:11Speaker 4: kind of looking over.
- 3:13Speaker 2: I was like, oh my god, dude, they're not going
- 3:15Speaker 2: to allow me back.
- 3:16Speaker 1: Is it like phone etiquette on like like public transportations don't.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I can't talk. I mean, dude, it's so quiet.
- 3:23Speaker 1: Even just talking in general, like I was having a
- 3:25Speaker 1: conversation on the subway would not be go well if they.
- 3:28Speaker 4: If you are like, it's perfectly fine to be whispering
- 3:31Speaker 4: and talking low, but you cannot have like nobody's dying, laughing,
- 3:34Speaker 4: telling big.
- 3:35Speaker 1: There's no street performers, like there are New York on
- 3:37Speaker 1: these buses going crazy.
- 3:39Speaker 4: No street performers, And it's a bunch of the things
- 3:43Speaker 4: that make it cool. Definitely, I could see it. And
- 3:47Speaker 4: a lot of the kids have the same complaints growing
- 3:49Speaker 4: up there. It's like they feel very kind of pressured
- 3:51Speaker 4: to live up to a certain standard and they feel
- 3:54Speaker 4: very boxed in. And a lot of the kids that
- 3:56Speaker 4: I was talking to when I was there that I
- 3:58Speaker 4: knew FORGI asked him like something you miss most about America?
- 4:01Speaker 4: And every single one of them, and this was probably
- 4:04Speaker 4: five or six kids, all had the same answer, and
- 4:06Speaker 4: they were like, just the freedom in your day to
- 4:09Speaker 4: day life, which I thought was pretty cool being American.
- 4:12Speaker 4: And how you know, our biggest thing of the American
- 4:14Speaker 4: brand is freedom, and that's the number one thing they
- 4:17Speaker 4: miss from it. But the world would be a whole
- 4:20Speaker 4: lot better if we implemented just half the things that
- 4:23Speaker 4: Japanese people implement, including the freshness of the food.
- 4:27Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean the meals. We were talking obviously before,
- 4:32Speaker 3: like when you got back and like the yen, like
- 4:35Speaker 3: how far the US dollar goes with the end, and
- 4:38Speaker 3: like obviously you like you were saying that you were
- 4:40Speaker 3: eating amazing out there, but like the entire meal comes
- 4:44Speaker 3: out to like like ten bucks.
- 4:45Speaker 4: Dude, we went to the equivalent and y'all know how
- 4:47Speaker 4: I feel about Barcelona, Like I'm not that type of
- 4:50Speaker 4: tapas guy. We went to the equivalent of that in
- 4:53Speaker 4: Japan and we got probably like six dishes eight drinks
- 4:57Speaker 4: total because it was me and sitting and then another
- 5:00Speaker 4: couple and dude, the final bill was like forty two
- 5:04Speaker 4: dollars a drinks, at least six dishes and a dessert
- 5:08Speaker 4: forty two dollars and so much more high quality than
- 5:11Speaker 4: anything we have here. First meal back in the US,
- 5:14Speaker 4: I get sick.
- 5:15Speaker 2: I don't think that's coins.
- 5:16Speaker 3: I think it's your I think it's your body, Tony
- 5:18Speaker 3: something it.
- 5:19Speaker 4: Is, man, it's telling me to move there. But dude,
- 5:21Speaker 4: just like it's going by all the knife shops seeing
- 5:25Speaker 4: all of that, the swords, I do, I did, I did.
- 5:28Speaker 4: I ordered a sword. Good, But it just it's it's.
- 5:32Speaker 2: A process of it getting here. But dude, I can't wait,
- 5:35Speaker 2: did you?
- 5:37Speaker 3: Dude?
- 5:37Speaker 2: It's like I know I should mount it, but like
- 5:39Speaker 2: I kind of want it. Just ready to go to
- 5:42Speaker 2: get ready? Did uh?
- 5:44Speaker 1: Did I see on your Twitter you got your dad
- 5:45Speaker 1: some customing grave.
- 5:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I got Hovey. I got Hovey on the knife.
- 5:49Speaker 2: That's sweet, which is cool because.
- 5:51Speaker 4: He loves cooking, so I know he'll be fired up.
- 5:53Speaker 4: And he doesn't follow me on Twitter. That's why I
- 5:55Speaker 4: post on Twitter, so he paul In on Twitter. He's
- 5:59Speaker 4: on his stay supporting. But dude, I like being in
- 6:04Speaker 4: Kyoto because they it's obviously a very big tourist place,
- 6:08Speaker 4: but they do such a good job of keeping the traditions,
- 6:11Speaker 4: where like Tokyo can feel like New York, but Kyoto
- 6:15Speaker 4: does such a good job with it. And it's just
- 6:18Speaker 4: people walking around in kimonos everywhere. There's so many temples
- 6:21Speaker 4: and one of the things I love about Japanese people
- 6:23Speaker 4: is they're so willing to like teach you their culture
- 6:26Speaker 4: and yeah, so like you don't feel out of place
- 6:29Speaker 4: or dumb talking to somebody or asking, which I feel
- 6:32Speaker 4: like in other places you can feel like, ah, like
- 6:35Speaker 4: if you're in Germany or something.
- 6:36Speaker 1: You're almost trespassing exactly.
- 6:38Speaker 4: But they're like they want to know everything about America.
- 6:41Speaker 4: They want you to know everything about Japan, and I'm
- 6:44Speaker 4: just like it it does not feel real when you're there,
- 6:47Speaker 4: Like how how in the world is this is a
- 6:50Speaker 4: place this peaceful? Yeah, and it's so impressive and you know,
- 6:53Speaker 4: their crime crime rate is like the lowest in the world,
- 6:57Speaker 4: and it's dude, they're just so many, so many good things.
- 7:01Speaker 3: Were you able to talk to I guess there's their
- 7:03Speaker 3: second languages English or do a lot of like people
- 7:07Speaker 3: out there speak English.
- 7:08Speaker 2: Yeah, in Tokyo there's definitely a decent amount.
- 7:12Speaker 3: But in Kyoto was it harder to like to where
- 7:15Speaker 3: Were you able to go up and ask like a
- 7:16Speaker 3: stranger industry that, hey, I'm trying to get here.
- 7:19Speaker 4: Uh yes, but only because like Google translating stuff or
- 7:22Speaker 4: you just you know, I'll just show them my map
- 7:24Speaker 4: and like hey, and then they'll just tell me like
- 7:27Speaker 4: just by pointing they don't really know it too well.
- 7:29Speaker 4: I think they can understand it better than they could speak. Yeah,
- 7:32Speaker 4: but there was one place we went to, this place
- 7:34Speaker 4: called Amano Hashidate, which is like a small fishing.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Village close to a fishing village, and like the north.
- 7:43Speaker 4: Western part of Kyoto, which is like I guess they
- 7:47Speaker 4: call I don't know how to pronounce it, perfectures, perfectures,
- 7:50Speaker 4: you know. But it's super small town, so not very toristy.
- 7:55Speaker 4: Like we didn't see any other white people or like
- 7:57Speaker 4: any other any other country than Japanese. People looked like
- 8:01Speaker 4: Japanese people were vacationing there. And dude, that was probably
- 8:04Speaker 4: my favorite stop of the whole trip because the water
- 8:06Speaker 4: was extremely clear. Their starfish have this like orange markings
- 8:11Speaker 4: on them that make them look like Samurai starfish. I'm like,
- 8:14Speaker 4: of course their starfish.
- 8:15Speaker 3: Are cool too.
- 8:16Speaker 4: These jellyfish are rolling through, you can see all the
- 8:19Speaker 4: fish swimming, and it's one of the three most.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Beauty spots in Japan.
- 8:25Speaker 4: And you go up to this like ski lift and
- 8:27Speaker 4: you get to see, like I guess, these two different
- 8:30Speaker 4: bodies of water coming together underneath this bridge, and it's
- 8:33Speaker 4: it's so incredible and some of the Japanese people there
- 8:38Speaker 4: were like I had them take a photo for us.
- 8:40Speaker 4: I took a photo for them, they took a photo
- 8:41Speaker 4: for us, and one of the kids was like, have
- 8:43Speaker 4: a nice day, and I was like, hey, have a
- 8:45Speaker 4: good day.
- 8:45Speaker 2: Your English is good.
- 8:46Speaker 4: It was like a squad of four high school kids
- 8:49Speaker 4: and they just start geeking out like so high, and
- 8:52Speaker 4: I'm like, dude, if an American high schooler took a
- 8:55Speaker 4: photo of you know, like a tourist or whoever, you know,
- 8:57Speaker 4: they're probably just immediately clowning and doing whatever. And the
- 9:01Speaker 4: Japanese kids are just the exact opposite. And I'm like, man,
- 9:04Speaker 4: they are They're the best. But I'm trying to think.
- 9:08Speaker 2: What was the weather like pretty similar to here?
- 9:11Speaker 4: It was definitely it was a little colder, probably, but
- 9:14Speaker 4: it was like mid forties to high.
- 9:16Speaker 2: Fifties into the sixties.
- 9:19Speaker 4: And like on the sunny days, which we only got
- 9:21Speaker 4: like two full sunny days, the weather was fine but
- 9:25Speaker 4: just overcast a lot. But it was probably felt like
- 9:28Speaker 4: sixty five or sixty.
- 9:29Speaker 3: Six like their fall winter, it's spring.
- 9:32Speaker 4: Okay, Yeah, so they're on the same ones as us,
- 9:35Speaker 4: and but I think their seasons are more extreme.
- 9:38Speaker 3: Like they have pretty were saying it gets pretty hot,
- 9:40Speaker 3: and yeah, I know they have like great skiing and
- 9:43Speaker 3: stuff out there.
- 9:43Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, up in like con or what is the
- 9:49Speaker 4: name of it, there's like a Sapporo which is also
- 9:52Speaker 4: the name of one of the beers. But dude, yeah,
- 9:55Speaker 4: there's this uh, this little bar district in Shinjuku called
- 9:58Speaker 4: Golden Guy, And I think I was telling you about
- 10:00Speaker 4: it maybe, but dude, it's like it's just the melting
- 10:03Speaker 4: pot of the bar experience, where there's probably like six
- 10:07Speaker 4: rows to this place, and these bars are just stacked
- 10:10Speaker 4: on top of each other and it's only like four
- 10:12Speaker 4: to seven, four to eight people that can fit in
- 10:14Speaker 4: each bar. And so we went into probably four different ones.
- 10:18Speaker 4: In the first one, it was like two people from
- 10:21Speaker 4: the UK, two people from Argentina, and one person, oh in,
- 10:26Speaker 4: one person from Italy. And then the next one we
- 10:28Speaker 4: went into this like foreign exchange crew of kids from
- 10:32Speaker 4: Norway was in there, and like three Australians who were
- 10:35Speaker 4: there for a wedding. And then the last one was
- 10:39Speaker 4: these two guys, these two brothers that were from Portugal
- 10:43Speaker 4: or no, not from Portugal, they're from Spain, but they
- 10:47Speaker 4: were born in Uruguay, but they have Italian passports and
- 10:51Speaker 4: they've never been to Italy.
- 10:55Speaker 2: They had the.
- 10:56Speaker 4: Funniest backstory their whole life. One of the guys is
- 10:59Speaker 4: talking about how much she loved soccer but couldn't play,
- 11:01Speaker 4: and he's like doing all Google Translate with me, and
- 11:04Speaker 4: he was telling me how injury prone he was.
- 11:06Speaker 2: In the phrase.
- 11:08Speaker 4: He wrote out was like like, I'm so fragile, I'm
- 11:11Speaker 4: so weak, I get injured when the wind blows. He's
- 11:14Speaker 4: and he's just holding it and looking at me, and
- 11:16Speaker 4: he sees me finished reading.
- 11:17Speaker 2: He's like and dude, it was just like I don't know.
- 11:22Speaker 4: It was one of those experience where it's just like, man,
- 11:24Speaker 4: this is like this is really what life is about.
- 11:26Speaker 4: Like people from all over the world in this tiny
- 11:29Speaker 4: bar in Japan, communicating through Google Translate, having the greatest time,
- 11:35Speaker 4: and it's just like, God.
- 11:36Speaker 2: The real life is so much better than the Internet.
- 11:39Speaker 4: But that bar district is just awesome because so many
- 11:41Speaker 4: of the different things are themed as well. So so
- 11:44Speaker 4: one bar tender could be singing karaoke the whole time.
- 11:47Speaker 4: The other one it could be like an Italian theme
- 11:50Speaker 4: or superhero theme, and it's just that they have it all.
- 11:55Speaker 3: Before you went, I'd watched this like motocross video about
- 11:59Speaker 3: Japanese ride and they were saying, like karaoke over there
- 12:02Speaker 3: is like taken very very seriously. Oh yeah, and it's
- 12:05Speaker 3: like a it's not like an embarrassing thing to go
- 12:08Speaker 3: up there. It's like you are putting on and putting
- 12:11Speaker 3: on a show and like they like a bow to
- 12:13Speaker 3: everybody once they're done, and just the culture over there
- 12:16Speaker 3: seems so sick and just realize, it makes me realize
- 12:19Speaker 3: how uncultured I am, dude, how much different shit is
- 12:24Speaker 3: out there, and like the lives of people like that,
- 12:26Speaker 3: the Portugal people like that seems like such a sick
- 12:29Speaker 3: life to.
- 12:29Speaker 4: Be something like, dude, I could not, for the life
- 12:32Speaker 4: be figured out how they got an Italian passport without
- 12:35Speaker 4: ever being there.
- 12:36Speaker 2: I'm like, where'd you pick it up?
- 12:37Speaker 3: Yea?
- 12:38Speaker 2: Did they just send it to you? It does like
- 12:40Speaker 2: does Italy just need residence?
- 12:42Speaker 3: And maybe they're just affiliated?
- 12:44Speaker 2: Yeah. Also went three oh and Spike Ball.
- 12:47Speaker 4: I went to the like, I guess maybe one of
- 12:49Speaker 4: Tokyo's It's not near as big as Central Park, but
- 12:51Speaker 4: one of their parks with one of my friend's sister
- 12:56Speaker 4: and her husband, and she works for Google, so like
- 13:01Speaker 4: a lot of English speaking people are working at Google.
- 13:03Speaker 4: So it was this massive picnic, but it was a
- 13:05Speaker 4: great vibe out there, and they brought out the spike ball.
- 13:08Speaker 4: We played against this guy from Switzerland. His name was Sunshine,
- 13:11Speaker 4: like his government name was Sunshine.
- 13:13Speaker 2: And I know.
- 13:17Speaker 4: And the other guy was from Sweden and I said
- 13:19Speaker 4: to him my friend's sister at Erica. I was like, so,
- 13:22Speaker 4: what's the like, what's the level of spike ball over here?
- 13:24Speaker 4: Because I feel like if I'm lining up against two
- 13:26Speaker 4: Japanese people, it could get dicey.
- 13:27Speaker 1: It's you definitely got to be prepped. But it feels
- 13:30Speaker 1: like a Japanese game in some sense. I don't know
- 13:32Speaker 1: if that's racist, but let's keep it moving.
- 13:36Speaker 4: And they're quick, they're quick twitch culture and uh but
- 13:40Speaker 4: you know, luckily we went up against the Swiss and
- 13:42Speaker 4: a and a Swedish person and we went three and
- 13:45Speaker 4: oh they were great, great, great guys. But Sitting and
- 13:48Speaker 4: I Sitting played her butt off. I was nervous because
- 13:51Speaker 4: she hadn't played in a while.
- 13:52Speaker 2: Neither have I.
- 13:53Speaker 4: But I know, like, if I'm competing internationally, I have
- 13:56Speaker 4: to step up, and I didn't know if Sitting felt
- 13:58Speaker 4: the weight of the situation, but she did. She rose up,
- 14:01Speaker 4: and she even had the two guys that were like,
- 14:03Speaker 4: oh man, you guys lied to us like you said
- 14:06Speaker 4: you never never play, dude. It was It was great.
- 14:10Speaker 4: The sushi incredible. The fish market had some Mando oysters
- 14:15Speaker 4: that were insanely good, like the biggest oysters I've ever
- 14:18Speaker 4: seen in my life. And just going by each of
- 14:20Speaker 4: the fishermen and it just feels you feel like you're
- 14:23Speaker 4: contributing because they're still in their sailor clothes and you're like,
- 14:28Speaker 4: I'll take six.
- 14:29Speaker 5: I would feel like I'm in a TV show or
- 14:30Speaker 5: a movie.
- 14:31Speaker 2: Dude.
- 14:31Speaker 4: That's what it looks like in the market, just walking
- 14:33Speaker 4: by and they have every kind of fish you could imagine,
- 14:37Speaker 4: and just like their sashimi plates and their poke bowls.
- 14:43Speaker 2: Dude, it's a joke.
- 14:44Speaker 1: What was your favorite thing you ate? And almost more importantly,
- 14:48Speaker 1: what was your least.
- 14:49Speaker 2: Favorite thing that you ate?
- 14:51Speaker 4: The least favorite thing I ate was I got this
- 14:54Speaker 4: like snack pack, which I we'll call it like the
- 14:58Speaker 4: Japanese equivalent of checksmi, even though it wasn't that at all.
- 15:01Speaker 4: They're doing something completely different. But they had these pretty
- 15:05Speaker 4: good little rice crackers in them, but they had these
- 15:07Speaker 4: kind of baked I guess, like sardines. They were just
- 15:11Speaker 4: like small fish and just whole fish, so like their
- 15:15Speaker 4: eyes and everything. And I got it. I was like, oh,
- 15:17Speaker 4: this will probably be fun, fun to have, and I
- 15:20Speaker 4: just immediately opened in. The smell crushes my nose. And
- 15:24Speaker 4: We're on the bullet train when I'm trying it, and
- 15:26Speaker 4: I'm already like, dude, I'm so loud opening this thing
- 15:29Speaker 4: and everyone probably ruining everybody's trip they're commuting from work.
- 15:33Speaker 4: And then just the dumb American tourists opening this snack
- 15:36Speaker 4: like this checks mix with sardines in it, and I
- 15:39Speaker 4: took a bite of the fish to taste it, and
- 15:41Speaker 4: it just wasn't It wasn't all that. I would still
- 15:44Speaker 4: crushed the bag out of respect. But that was probably
- 15:48Speaker 4: my least favorite and then my favorite thing. Dude, It's
- 15:51Speaker 4: probably two things. Just the nagiri across the board. We
- 15:55Speaker 4: went to this one place that similar to the Golden
- 15:58Speaker 4: Guy setting. A lot a lot of the restaurants in
- 16:01Speaker 4: Japan are super small because they're trying to get people
- 16:03Speaker 4: in and out and their menus will be pretty short too.
- 16:07Speaker 3: Do you have to say, like they do the ordering
- 16:09Speaker 3: and stuff too.
- 16:10Speaker 4: Yeah, Like if you're if you're waiting to go in,
- 16:12Speaker 4: they'll take your order outside, Hey what do you want?
- 16:15Speaker 2: YadA YadA.
- 16:16Speaker 4: So then by the time you're in there, your food
- 16:18Speaker 4: is at your table within like three minutes, which I'm like,
- 16:22Speaker 4: that's so smart to do. I don't know why US
- 16:25Speaker 4: restaurant culture doesn't do that to at least take the
- 16:28Speaker 4: like that first.
- 16:29Speaker 2: Five people that are waiting in line.
- 16:32Speaker 4: No tipping probably, yeah, yeah, that's fair.
- 16:39Speaker 2: No, no, yeah, Derek said.
- 16:41Speaker 4: Part of the reason for that is because in Japan
- 16:44Speaker 4: they do not tip, whereas in the US tipping is massive,
- 16:47Speaker 4: so the servers are getting majority of their money from
- 16:51Speaker 4: the service they're providing, from the experience. In Japanese, I'd
- 16:54Speaker 4: say the food is more of the experience than the service.
- 16:58Speaker 4: And uh, but we went to this and then the
- 17:00Speaker 4: geary was just incredible and the dude was crushing the
- 17:03Speaker 4: like the wasabi root in front of you, and we
- 17:07Speaker 4: had this one role that was a normal sushi roll
- 17:09Speaker 4: wrapped in the rice, but it was also like he
- 17:13Speaker 4: put the rice like in the wasabi and then rolled
- 17:15Speaker 4: it so the it was like a wasabi roll with
- 17:18Speaker 4: just this perfect tuna inside of it. And they the
- 17:22Speaker 4: pieces of tuna they put in there and salmon are
- 17:24Speaker 4: just so much thicker than what they do in the US.
- 17:27Speaker 2: And it's just like all the.
- 17:29Speaker 4: Different cuts of it as well, Like I feel like
- 17:31Speaker 4: we're giving one option for a tuna roll and there
- 17:34Speaker 4: it's like you got fatty tuna, you got the millions
- 17:37Speaker 4: of different variations of this fish.
- 17:40Speaker 2: And uh, but that was a that was a great one.
- 17:43Speaker 4: And then we did this wagou on makase that was incredible,
- 17:48Speaker 4: Like there was these two off menu items that were
- 17:51Speaker 4: so good. And I don't even know the part of
- 17:53Speaker 4: the cow that we're eating, but half of it you
- 17:55Speaker 4: can eat raw, which is just like they can they
- 17:58Speaker 4: can eat raw chicken in Japan.
- 18:00Speaker 2: That's how fresh it.
- 18:00Speaker 5: That just seems scary.
- 18:03Speaker 3: I don't know, I don't even eat raw fish, and
- 18:06Speaker 3: like that's kind of how you're supposed to eat it. Yeah,
- 18:08Speaker 3: eating raw chicken and beef is like they're doing something
- 18:12Speaker 3: right out there.
- 18:12Speaker 4: I know, Like the beef tongue, the cow tongue was
- 18:14Speaker 4: so good. We had we did like two of the
- 18:17Speaker 4: kind of macass where they one of them they cooked
- 18:20Speaker 4: it in front of you. The other one my friend,
- 18:22Speaker 4: she cooked it for us, because that's.
- 18:25Speaker 2: We don't know how to do it.
- 18:27Speaker 4: But I would say those two things, like the Wagoo
- 18:29Speaker 4: scene is just incredible.
- 18:31Speaker 2: On the on the.
- 18:33Speaker 1: Line of tipping, if you try and tip, is it
- 18:35Speaker 1: are they like.
- 18:36Speaker 3: No, no, no, no, no, dude. Honestly, honestly, I'm more s
- 18:44Speaker 3: laughing at something else before it was racist and then
- 18:48Speaker 3: you just normal man.
- 18:52Speaker 2: Dude.
- 18:52Speaker 4: Honestly, I have no idea because we didn't try and
- 18:54Speaker 4: nobody else was trying either.
- 18:56Speaker 2: But from what I've heard, it is just like they
- 18:59Speaker 2: refuse it.
- 18:59Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure when Broads and Slammy went two of
- 19:02Speaker 1: my buddies went to Japan two years ago, they said
- 19:04Speaker 1: they tried to it, like when the first couple of nights. Yeah,
- 19:07Speaker 1: and they realized very quickly the tipping culture is now
- 19:09Speaker 1: like America, and it was very much like head down
- 19:12Speaker 1: like police or do not like we will.
- 19:14Speaker 2: Not accept that, dude.
- 19:15Speaker 4: It's the respect that they have for everybody and just
- 19:18Speaker 4: like every single job. We were walking on the street
- 19:21Speaker 4: one day and the trash guys were coming by and Dude,
- 19:24Speaker 4: these two guys they hop out the truck and they
- 19:27Speaker 4: don't have like the big trash compactors like we do,
- 19:29Speaker 4: so a lot of it is manual labor. And they,
- 19:32Speaker 4: you know, fly off the truck, grab the bags, throw
- 19:35Speaker 4: them over. Then they grab their brooms and their dust
- 19:38Speaker 4: pans and sweep it up. And it was just a machine.
- 19:40Speaker 4: And they did it with such intention that you're like,
- 19:43Speaker 4: holy crap, If I attacked my job like this, I'd
- 19:47Speaker 4: be so much more successful. And uh, we watched a
- 19:51Speaker 4: class cross the street and then they like all bow
- 19:53Speaker 4: to the crossing guard, thanking them for their service.
- 19:57Speaker 2: And then when we flew away from Japan, the.
- 19:59Speaker 4: Grounds all stands there as your flight goes, and they
- 20:02Speaker 4: all line up and they bow and they're like saying
- 20:04Speaker 4: thank you.
- 20:05Speaker 1: And I'm just like I saw that video you posted
- 20:07Speaker 1: and I know just the motion that was going through
- 20:09Speaker 1: your body at that moment, just like I have to go.
- 20:12Speaker 2: I will be back though, dude.
- 20:14Speaker 4: All of my validation came when each of the kids
- 20:17Speaker 4: I saw when they were they were talking to Sitting
- 20:19Speaker 4: about meeting me while we were at IMG, and they're like, dude,
- 20:22Speaker 4: we always said there, Sitting, we always said that JP
- 20:26Speaker 4: in another life he was one hundred percent Japanese and
- 20:29Speaker 4: I was like.
- 20:29Speaker 2: To you guys, have note, I have no idea how
- 20:31Speaker 2: much that means to.
- 20:33Speaker 4: And uh, dude, just to just to see them in
- 20:37Speaker 4: their environment, all the kids that I knew it was,
- 20:39Speaker 4: and to see them out of college, like with their
- 20:41Speaker 4: jobs or navigating whatever they're up to now was was
- 20:45Speaker 4: really cool and really special because it's like how many
- 20:47Speaker 4: times you get to form relationships that spread across the
- 20:50Speaker 4: literally the earth, and it's like, I don't know, there's
- 20:53Speaker 4: nothing better than that, PHELI.
- 20:54Speaker 3: It makes it even. It made the trip ten times
- 20:57Speaker 3: better because you knew people and they probably took you like, hey,
- 21:00Speaker 3: we got to go to this spot rather than this spot, dude,
- 21:03Speaker 3: and like getting to meet their families and stuff like
- 21:05Speaker 3: that probably made it ten times more special.
- 21:07Speaker 2: Yeah, they they made it. They made the trip.
- 21:11Speaker 4: Without them, it would have been awesome, but to have
- 21:14Speaker 4: them shown us around and be our translators for a
- 21:17Speaker 4: lot of it changed things too. But especially in the restaurants,
- 21:21Speaker 4: like very few times that sitting in I ever order
- 21:23Speaker 4: like they always ordered everything, which makes it so much
- 21:26Speaker 4: better because I would not have no like not the
- 21:29Speaker 4: menus aren't really in English, and we had an app
- 21:31Speaker 4: that can translate stuff, but I had no idea.
- 21:34Speaker 2: Yeah, but yeah, man, it was.
- 21:36Speaker 3: Were there many other like Americans out there? Did you
- 21:38Speaker 3: that you saw? Were they all like whites?
- 21:45Speaker 2: I'm trying to think.
- 21:48Speaker 4: I feel like there wasn't a lot of Americans, but
- 21:50Speaker 4: there was definitely a lot of like people from like
- 21:53Speaker 4: I feel like a lot of the European countries. Yeah,
- 21:55Speaker 4: we're there, like a lot of people from England, a
- 21:58Speaker 4: lot of actually, there's a lot of people from Indian.
- 22:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 22:00Speaker 2: There.
- 22:01Speaker 4: And we sat in there next to this one Indian
- 22:02Speaker 4: couple in this bar we went to. It's called Club
- 22:05Speaker 4: SG and I guess it's on the top one hundred
- 22:07Speaker 4: bars in the world or something, because we're supposed to
- 22:11Speaker 4: have a reservation to get in there, and somehow we
- 22:13Speaker 4: walked in and then we got led to the downstairs
- 22:15Speaker 4: which is a separate bar that's like even better than
- 22:18Speaker 4: the upstairs one. And the Indians next to us they
- 22:21Speaker 4: were like, uh, you know, how long how far in.
- 22:24Speaker 2: Advance did you guys get this reservation?
- 22:25Speaker 4: We're like, oh, we just kind of walked in and
- 22:27Speaker 4: they're like, no way, And I was asking them where
- 22:29Speaker 4: they had been just traveling around and they've been to
- 22:33Speaker 4: so many places, and we're like, which one do you
- 22:35Speaker 4: think we need to go to next? YadA YadA, And
- 22:38Speaker 4: they were like, well, I don't know if you would
- 22:39Speaker 4: like the things that we do, like when we go
- 22:42Speaker 4: to different places.
- 22:43Speaker 2: And I'm thinking, like what what could this possibly mean?
- 22:48Speaker 4: And I was and I asked him like, wait, how
- 22:50Speaker 4: come like I feel like I'm pretty uh, I'm pretty
- 22:53Speaker 4: fluent with a lot of these things. They're like, well,
- 22:55Speaker 4: we do like all the Disney stuff. They're like, cause
- 23:00Speaker 4: we don't have any Disney in India, so like any
- 23:03Speaker 4: chance they get to go to a disney World or Disneyland,
- 23:05Speaker 4: they like, seize the opportunity.
- 23:08Speaker 2: But it cracked me up. And I guess a lot.
- 23:10Speaker 4: Of them maybe are like moving there as well. So yeah,
- 23:14Speaker 4: I mean, Tokyo is there's.
- 23:16Speaker 2: A lot of different cultures, which is cool. There's being
- 23:18Speaker 2: in that park.
- 23:19Speaker 4: I'm like, that's when you when you're in that parking
- 23:21Speaker 4: in that setting, It's like, Okay, I could definitely live
- 23:23Speaker 4: here and make friends and kind of immerse myself in
- 23:26Speaker 4: the culture.
- 23:29Speaker 3: We'll see.
- 23:30Speaker 4: Man, there's h there's some medical logistics that that we
- 23:35Speaker 4: have to figure out for sure and obviously work logistics.
- 23:39Speaker 3: Yah.
- 23:40Speaker 2: So, but never say never, never say never.
- 23:44Speaker 3: That's so sick to hear. It just makes I don't
- 23:47Speaker 3: know about y'all, but it makes me want to travel
- 23:49Speaker 3: like asap for sure.
- 23:51Speaker 1: I've got one more question too, just on the japan
- 23:53Speaker 1: realm uh. If you're gonna go back or recommend one
- 23:56Speaker 1: thing that you did on your trip, what is it?
- 23:59Speaker 1: And then what's something that you you would also X
- 24:01Speaker 1: from the itinerary.
- 24:04Speaker 4: Something I would X Such a hard question, Yeah, dude,
- 24:09Speaker 4: so much of it was so fun.
- 24:11Speaker 2: I think what I would have xed.
- 24:15Speaker 4: I'm wearing the shirt right now and it is an
- 24:18Speaker 4: EX it's an XL. But it was like the uh,
- 24:22Speaker 4: I don't know. I was just you just feel so
- 24:24Speaker 4: rushed to, like this is the shirt I'm referring to
- 24:27Speaker 4: as Uniclo and uniclothes a Japanese brand and it's a
- 24:30Speaker 4: nice brand. Like in the US, it's all the stores
- 24:32Speaker 4: are only in bigger cities, bigger shopping cities, and it's
- 24:35Speaker 4: pretty expensive, but over there it's super cheap and I
- 24:39Speaker 4: feel like my last day, I just I was like, man,
- 24:42Speaker 4: I want to go get some Uniclose stuff. But then
- 24:44Speaker 4: I completely missed like getting a great last meal and
- 24:48Speaker 4: I literally was in uniclo and I looked over at Sinton.
- 24:51Speaker 4: I said, what the heck am I doing? Like I
- 24:54Speaker 4: don't shop for clothes, like I still have some of
- 24:57Speaker 4: the same shirts that I was wearing in high school
- 25:00Speaker 4: are in my weekly rotation, Like why are we here
- 25:03Speaker 4: right now? And dude, I was kicking myself out, like
- 25:06Speaker 4: cause I'll myself talk was horrible that day. I was like,
- 25:10Speaker 4: somehow I find a way, Like the trip is perfect
- 25:13Speaker 4: and somehow I will always find a way. The last
- 25:15Speaker 4: minute just ruin it. And she's like it's just like
- 25:18Speaker 4: it's only been an hour, like we can still. I
- 25:20Speaker 4: was like, I'm like, you don't understand, Like I could have.
- 25:23Speaker 4: We could have went to this place, we could have
- 25:25Speaker 4: bought another sword, Like now I got these clothes that
- 25:28Speaker 4: I don't even care about clothes. So yeah, like the
- 25:32Speaker 4: shopping aspect, and we didn't really even do that much shopping,
- 25:36Speaker 4: but for somebody that could care less about clothes, I'm like,
- 25:39Speaker 4: I don't know why I like.
- 25:40Speaker 2: Even went in and half these stores.
- 25:42Speaker 4: Somebody was like, yeah, you've got to go to this
- 25:44Speaker 4: little district in Shabuyah for all these clothes, and I'm
- 25:47Speaker 4: walking in and it's like the nicest type of like
- 25:50Speaker 4: people that are into clothes would love it. But I'm
- 25:52Speaker 4: walking through these stores and not like just everything that's
- 25:56Speaker 4: not a T shirt in short, So I'm like, I'm
- 25:58Speaker 4: not interested really to probably the shopping. And then the
- 26:03Speaker 4: one thing we did do, dude, just like getting up
- 26:06Speaker 4: early and going to like a lot of the temples
- 26:08Speaker 4: and shrines. I wish we even would have got up
- 26:10Speaker 4: earlier because it is a madhouse and by the time
- 26:15Speaker 4: you're finished and you can get a glimpse of it
- 26:17Speaker 4: because it's slammed. But there's something so peaceful about going
- 26:22Speaker 4: getting to these places early, and you feel like you're
- 26:26Speaker 4: transported in time, like you're walking back with those early
- 26:29Speaker 4: age Japanese era of people as they're going through and
- 26:32Speaker 4: going through all their daily rituals and walking up to
- 26:35Speaker 4: some of these temples and shrines when it's peace and
- 26:38Speaker 4: quiet is like, it's really cool, really special. So I
- 26:42Speaker 4: was just say, hitting it. I wish we could have
- 26:43Speaker 4: hit more of those. In Kyoto especially.
- 26:46Speaker 1: Are a lot of those temples are they like inhabited
- 26:48Speaker 1: by like Buddhist monks or is this way up part
- 26:51Speaker 1: of like region.
- 26:52Speaker 4: No, it's truly, just like I don't know how much
- 26:55Speaker 4: of it is just for like I feel like a
- 26:58Speaker 4: lot of analogis for tourism. Sure, but like one of
- 27:01Speaker 4: the guys that I was that we met up with,
- 27:03Speaker 4: he kind of explained what you do with the shrines,
- 27:06Speaker 4: why they're there, and it's really cool, like you know,
- 27:09Speaker 4: like the prayer aspect of it, and they like you
- 27:12Speaker 4: clap twice and then you like kind of say your prayer,
- 27:15Speaker 4: you bounce twise and.
- 27:18Speaker 2: Yeah, it's I wish we could have done more.
- 27:20Speaker 4: Kind of like the one thing I wish I would
- 27:22Speaker 4: have done is probably like a guided walking tour through
- 27:25Speaker 4: them with a with a Japanese person, like fully dedicated
- 27:29Speaker 4: four hours?
- 27:31Speaker 3: Is there the way? I'm assuming you're gonna want to
- 27:33Speaker 3: go back at some point? Yeah? What point? Like what
- 27:36Speaker 3: spots are you don't want to check out next time?
- 27:38Speaker 4: Dude? All the place is similar to that Amana Hashidate place,
- 27:41Speaker 4: like all the smaller villages or like smaller towns, Like
- 27:46Speaker 4: there's a place it's not even that small because it's
- 27:48Speaker 4: probably an hour away from Tokyo, but it's called Kamakura
- 27:51Speaker 4: and it's a beach town and I would love to
- 27:54Speaker 4: go there. One of my other friends, he teaches at
- 27:56Speaker 4: an international school, like in the northern part of Japan.
- 28:00Speaker 2: Where a lot of people snowboard.
- 28:02Speaker 4: And he's like, he teaches a sports business class and
- 28:05Speaker 4: he's like, Dude, I want next time in your back.
- 28:06Speaker 4: I want you to come up and come speak for
- 28:09Speaker 4: that class. I DoD you have no idea how I
- 28:12Speaker 4: pick that would be. His name is Yoshi, and dude,
- 28:14Speaker 4: Yoshi is a He's an icon. So I would want
- 28:18Speaker 4: to There's so many small towns that I want to
- 28:20Speaker 4: go to. And then Okinawa for sure, which is like
- 28:23Speaker 4: Japan's Hawaii. There's a US military base there, but I would.
- 28:27Speaker 2: Love to go there. The photos are are incredible.
- 28:30Speaker 6: For the baseball fans that we hopefully attracted last week.
- 28:34Speaker 5: We had a big baseball pop.
- 28:38Speaker 6: Yeah, well you were explaining you can quickly explain how
- 28:42Speaker 6: big show.
- 28:43Speaker 5: Hey Atani is there?
- 28:44Speaker 4: Dude, every billboard, every like, anytime there's even space for
- 28:48Speaker 4: an advertisement for something, it's going to be sho hee
- 28:51Speaker 4: a Tani. And he's one of the first people that, like,
- 28:54Speaker 4: if you're talking to Japanese people, they'll ask you about
- 28:57Speaker 4: or just like a great bridge to communicate with Japanese
- 29:01Speaker 4: people on We're like how about Otani and they just
- 29:04Speaker 4: freak out like they love him so much and what's.
- 29:06Speaker 2: The other picture's name?
- 29:07Speaker 5: Uh Yamoto?
- 29:09Speaker 4: Yes, they love Yamamoto like he was getting and obviously
- 29:12Speaker 4: he's a great, great player here. But it's like in
- 29:15Speaker 4: the US we kind of it's really just focused on show.
- 29:18Speaker 4: Hey yeah, and but dude, they are all about Yamamoto
- 29:22Speaker 4: and I it was opening weekend when we were there,
- 29:24Speaker 4: so baseball buzz was big.
- 29:26Speaker 5: I would have loved to be there during he was
- 29:30Speaker 5: massive there too.
- 29:31Speaker 2: Dude. I made a fatal air.
- 29:34Speaker 4: I asked the bartender because there was a bottle of
- 29:37Speaker 4: whiskey and it was like Echiro whiskey. And I was like,
- 29:39Speaker 4: is that an Echiro from like Seattle Mariners. They're like,
- 29:43Speaker 4: oh no, like there's a lot of echiros. I was like, yeah,
- 29:48Speaker 4: that's a stupid question. I was like, you know, like
- 29:50Speaker 4: in uh in North America, like a lot of the
- 29:52Speaker 4: athletes like they have their own liquor.
- 29:54Speaker 2: I promise it's normal. I was like, God, it's so stupid.
- 29:59Speaker 5: I would have done the same thing.
- 30:00Speaker 1: I like Suzuki, any connection point I I can make,
- 30:04Speaker 1: I'm like, oh yeah, that's gotta be.
- 30:05Speaker 4: There, right, And that's just that's the best part because
- 30:09Speaker 4: they're about it, dude. They're about it all, like you
- 30:11Speaker 4: don't have to worry about looking like an idiot. She
- 30:13Speaker 4: handled it perfectly because she's like, oh yeah, we love
- 30:16Speaker 4: each year old, Like, oh man.
- 30:19Speaker 3: I want to I would want to check out Japan
- 30:21Speaker 3: one for everything that you said, but also like all
- 30:24Speaker 3: of the dirt bikes are made out there, like Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha, Kawasaki.
- 30:29Speaker 3: They're all like it is the hub from across out there, so.
- 30:33Speaker 2: In their talent, like Kawasaki is like a city.
- 30:36Speaker 3: Yeah, and each one of them I think is yeah city,
- 30:38Speaker 3: which is cool. But yeah, that's so sick.
- 30:42Speaker 5: I makes you want to go to Japan so bad.
- 30:44Speaker 2: Yeah, it went my way too fast.
- 30:46Speaker 5: And my my sister and her.
- 30:49Speaker 6: Future husband's family like just went like everybody's gone in
- 30:54Speaker 6: the fall and now I was jealous. They brought me
- 30:56Speaker 6: back this like nice kitchen knife that it's got its
- 30:58Speaker 6: own sleeve. It's got like well Japanese design on it.
- 31:02Speaker 6: Use it on my stake every Sunday.
- 31:04Speaker 2: That's what I want.
- 31:05Speaker 5: All these things and stories.
- 31:06Speaker 4: I'm like, I know, you know, like the long blade
- 31:10Speaker 4: knife they're supposed to use for the meat slaves. I
- 31:12Speaker 4: was like showing the dude the photos of it, and
- 31:16Speaker 4: he was doing his best to like explain to me
- 31:19Speaker 4: basically that like, hey, it doesn't sound like you're there yet,
- 31:23Speaker 4: You're not ready, and I'm like, man, I want to
- 31:25Speaker 4: be ready, and uh, I wish I would have spent
- 31:29Speaker 4: more times, like more time with the knives and bought
- 31:31Speaker 4: more knives, but they are still like prices are great
- 31:35Speaker 4: over there, but I mean, the knives are still expensive.
- 31:37Speaker 4: It's like we got one for Sittin's parents, one for
- 31:40Speaker 4: my parents, and too for ourselves, and you're already running.
- 31:43Speaker 2: Like decent bills. It's like I wish I could buy
- 31:47Speaker 2: I wish I could get everybody a knife and bring
- 31:48Speaker 2: it back. But maybe they're they're nice.
- 31:53Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, and a lot of Australians do. There
- 31:56Speaker 4: was like in two knife shops I went into, it
- 31:58Speaker 4: was two Australians working it.
- 32:00Speaker 3: That's we were talking about it earlier. Today. You said
- 32:03Speaker 3: Japan was like really far away, and I'm like, no,
- 32:05Speaker 3: it's not. They're like right next to each other. It's
- 32:07Speaker 3: like and they're ten hours away, an.
- 32:09Speaker 5: Hour from Australia.
- 32:10Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 32:11Speaker 4: The only thing Japan's really close to is China and
- 32:14Speaker 4: South Korea. And I guess some of the Philippines would
- 32:18Speaker 4: be like the most doable flights.
- 32:19Speaker 3: But because when I was in Australia, like almost ten
- 32:23Speaker 3: years ago a decade, there were a bunch of like
- 32:27Speaker 3: Japanese people like everywhere. Yeah, And I don't know if
- 32:30Speaker 3: it was because like we were in like we were
- 32:32Speaker 3: in the Gold Coast and it's like a touristy town
- 32:34Speaker 3: or my girlfriend at the time was at a university.
- 32:37Speaker 3: But I don't know if a bunch of Japanese people
- 32:39Speaker 3: just studied there. But I felt like because there were
- 32:42Speaker 3: so many Japanese people, I'm like, it's probably a three
- 32:44Speaker 3: hour flight. They pop over there, hang out, but then
- 32:46Speaker 3: it's ten hours. I'm like, no fucking way.
- 32:49Speaker 4: We gotta get some sort of non like violent earth
- 32:54Speaker 4: or like a.
- 32:55Speaker 2: Tsunami that happens.
- 32:56Speaker 4: It just shifts Australia closer to every more things because
- 33:00Speaker 4: it just super possible to get there.
- 33:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:03Speaker 2: I guess unless you're the Philippines, I.
- 33:06Speaker 3: Think that we're brug and I are going to Italy
- 33:08Speaker 3: and Greece in September, but like my next stop, I
- 33:13Speaker 3: want to go back to Australia and I want to
- 33:16Speaker 3: live out there for like a year or two. Yeah,
- 33:18Speaker 3: I think it'd be so sick and just the lifestyle
- 33:22Speaker 3: out there and just the lifestyle anywhere, serve anywhere. But
- 33:25Speaker 3: the US seems like cool.
- 33:28Speaker 2: It does.
- 33:29Speaker 4: I mean, I'll say this though, like cause I will.
- 33:31Speaker 4: I mean, I would love to live in Japan and
- 33:32Speaker 4: be a dream come true. But and I've only ever
- 33:35Speaker 4: been to two different two other countries, but the US
- 33:38Speaker 4: is like most of the people you talk to in
- 33:40Speaker 4: these countries is like their goal is to come to
- 33:43Speaker 4: the US, which always gives you a sense of pride,
- 33:46Speaker 4: and I get it. I mean it's like, do we
- 33:48Speaker 4: we truly have everything? And the opportunity for these people,
- 33:52Speaker 4: like because the suicide rate in Japan is super high,
- 33:56Speaker 4: and so much of it is that culture and the
- 33:59Speaker 4: like lack of opportunity right now, I think there's a
- 34:02Speaker 4: stat out there that have more dogs than children. And
- 34:05Speaker 4: whenever there's these like population declines, it's just bad news
- 34:08Speaker 4: all around for everyone. So so many homes are empty
- 34:12Speaker 4: and a lot of the smaller villages especially, and it's
- 34:15Speaker 4: like so just a lot, so many of them are
- 34:18Speaker 4: trying to get to the US, and I'm like, I
- 34:20Speaker 4: would want to live in these places for a year,
- 34:22Speaker 4: but I would one and the number one place to
- 34:24Speaker 4: live my life. US.
- 34:26Speaker 3: I feel like you got to get out there to
- 34:28Speaker 3: then realize what you have back home, Like because when
- 34:30Speaker 3: I went to when I was in Samoa, one hundred
- 34:33Speaker 3: percent like someone's very third world. So it's like a
- 34:36Speaker 3: lot easier to do that. But then like you come
- 34:38Speaker 3: back and like, yeah, this place, like America does rock, right,
- 34:41Speaker 3: it is like awesome, and it is like being able
- 34:43Speaker 3: to like the freedom and whatnot. But just I think
- 34:46Speaker 3: to be able to say you lived in Japan for
- 34:48Speaker 3: a year, to live in Australia for a year, it's
- 34:50Speaker 3: like that's something you can reflect on and think about,
- 34:53Speaker 3: Like and if you become friends with somebody out there,
- 34:56Speaker 3: like be like lifelong friends, and it's just I don't know,
- 34:59Speaker 3: just really it seems attractive.
- 35:01Speaker 4: Yeah, there's so many lessons I would want to instill
- 35:03Speaker 4: in my kids from the Japanese culture, which would be
- 35:06Speaker 4: the one of the number one benefits of living there.
- 35:08Speaker 4: It's just being immersed in it because I'd love to
- 35:10Speaker 4: work in like school there or even just do videography
- 35:13Speaker 4: for a school because the kids are so grateful for
- 35:16Speaker 4: any type of content or if they were the same
- 35:18Speaker 4: way at IMG, and I just know that it.
- 35:20Speaker 2: Would make their day.
- 35:22Speaker 4: And knowing that they have all those pressures to be
- 35:25Speaker 4: able to kind of play a role and like hyping
- 35:28Speaker 4: them up.
- 35:29Speaker 2: They're not. They're about that.
- 35:30Speaker 4: They do zero self promotion on anything. They don't really
- 35:33Speaker 4: have much for themselves.
- 35:34Speaker 2: I think it would be like the coolest thing in
- 35:35Speaker 2: the world. But yeah, awesome. True.
- 35:40Speaker 4: Where's the next place y'all would want to go? Obviously
- 35:42Speaker 4: you said yours where out of the country? Where would
- 35:44Speaker 4: you want to go?
- 35:45Speaker 6: Well, that's about I want to go to Europe. I
- 35:48Speaker 6: don't really know exactly where. I feel like you can
- 35:50Speaker 6: kind of hit a lot when you're over there, as
- 35:52Speaker 6: I've heard from other people visiting. Japan's been on my
- 35:55Speaker 6: radar since my sister and her fiance went, just because
- 35:59Speaker 6: I think they just I'm back bragging. Yeah, and I've
- 36:02Speaker 6: already been when I was thirteen to Canada, but me
- 36:05Speaker 6: Addie and then my family.
- 36:07Speaker 5: My brother's wife, my sister, and all of them.
- 36:10Speaker 6: We're going to Canada in August, which will be really
- 36:13Speaker 6: fun because going uh like Whistler, Vancouver or something.
- 36:18Speaker 3: Then like North Northwest.
- 36:21Speaker 2: Yeah, longest runs in the world.
- 36:25Speaker 6: And I've been to Whistler, like I said, I was
- 36:27Speaker 6: I was young, and we did like white water rafting
- 36:29Speaker 6: and like Olympic village and all that. But a lot
- 36:32Speaker 6: that I couldn't do when I was thirteen, A lot
- 36:33Speaker 6: that I don't remember when I was thirteen. So it'll
- 36:36Speaker 6: be exciting to go out there.
- 36:37Speaker 5: As an adult. So like that's August.
- 36:39Speaker 6: And that's I mean, I go to Mexico all the time,
- 36:43Speaker 6: or I've been to Mexico a lot, so like that's
- 36:46Speaker 6: I do travel to other countries so to speak. But
- 36:49Speaker 6: I'm excited to get to like a new like one
- 36:52Speaker 6: experience something fresh. But from there, honestly don't I really
- 36:57Speaker 6: don't know.
- 36:58Speaker 2: I don't think it's horribly far, Like yeah, I don't.
- 37:01Speaker 3: It's like like whatever. The one on the east.
- 37:04Speaker 6: Is Calgary is like in the in the center, I
- 37:06Speaker 6: think Calgary. Yeah, But I'm excited to go to Canada.
- 37:10Speaker 6: I really want to get because I've been blessed to
- 37:13Speaker 6: travel like a lot and I just haven't gone across
- 37:17Speaker 6: like to Europe or like Asia any yeah, any of that,
- 37:20Speaker 6: so I be happy to do any of it. But Japan,
- 37:24Speaker 6: like Japan, sounds sick and the no talking on the subway,
- 37:27Speaker 6: that's right up my alley.
- 37:29Speaker 2: You have to worry about it half the things you
- 37:31Speaker 2: gotta worry about.
- 37:32Speaker 1: Here, I know, I mean, I think I'm riding the
- 37:37Speaker 1: same line Japan and Australia.
- 37:39Speaker 2: Awesome. If I go to Japan, it.
- 37:41Speaker 1: Will definitely be for some sort of a snowboarding trip
- 37:43Speaker 1: because Japan got some of the most snow on the
- 37:45Speaker 1: planet and there's some really awesome documentaries that are from
- 37:49Speaker 1: Japan centered around snowboarding that have inspired me in my
- 37:52Speaker 1: early ages before I started working here.
- 37:54Speaker 5: So love to do that.
- 37:55Speaker 1: Obviously, Australia, hit the Gold Coast, do whatever there is
- 38:00Speaker 1: to offer out there, see some crazy animals. More like
- 38:04Speaker 1: internal Europe, like a Switzerland area. I love to go
- 38:08Speaker 1: to Amsterdam, and I just went to Greece last summer.
- 38:11Speaker 1: I know JP did as well, make you're going. I
- 38:14Speaker 1: would love to revisit Greece. There's just so many islands
- 38:17Speaker 1: you can go to and not enough time on just
- 38:19Speaker 1: like a white a week or two weeks, so love
- 38:22Speaker 1: to get back to Greece. But yeah, I you know,
- 38:24Speaker 1: I'm gonna fall in line with this pod for.
- 38:26Speaker 5: Sure, and probably put Japan up.
- 38:28Speaker 1: There's number one, and then you know Australia is a
- 38:30Speaker 1: close to that'd be fun.
- 38:32Speaker 5: Yeah, dude.
- 38:34Speaker 6: Another one is again my sister and her family.
- 38:38Speaker 5: They travel a lot, so they go to a lot
- 38:39Speaker 5: of places.
- 38:39Speaker 6: I get jealous of Iceland and then and then my
- 38:44Speaker 6: my parents from really and my parents went there as well,
- 38:48Speaker 6: and it's just like, you know, they bring back videos
- 38:51Speaker 6: and pictures and it's it's all the word of mouth
- 38:54Speaker 6: in the story. I'm just I'm so jealous because I
- 38:56Speaker 6: didn't even like, I don't even think that one was
- 38:58Speaker 6: on my radar really like what's in Iceland? But it's
- 39:01Speaker 6: like beautiful and fun and yeah, that's a big one.
- 39:04Speaker 3: Like I learned about it in my high school. Iceland's
- 39:07Speaker 3: named Iceland? And why Greenland's named Greenland? Have you do
- 39:10Speaker 3: you guys do that? No, maybe we did, but I
- 39:12Speaker 3: don't know if this is true or not, but it's
- 39:16Speaker 3: like in high school, and I still believe it's the
- 39:19Speaker 3: yes for so for like when the Vikings would like
- 39:23Speaker 3: sail the seas. They called Iceland what it is, but
- 39:27Speaker 3: it's like as to like fuck up the other Vikings
- 39:30Speaker 3: in the sense of like don't go there. It's all
- 39:31Speaker 3: Ice whand it's like beautiful, and the vice versa for Greenland,
- 39:35Speaker 3: and I'm like, that'sh that just seems so cool.
- 39:37Speaker 4: Do you imagine just navigating the world in that Era's
- 39:42Speaker 4: like pretty much have to trust them that they said that,
- 39:44Speaker 4: and like then you.
- 39:45Speaker 1: Show up in a baron and you're like, well, you know,
- 39:47Speaker 1: it looks like most of us are gonna.
- 39:49Speaker 2: Die the Viking era. Dude, Inland Saga, I swear.
- 39:57Speaker 4: That'll be your next one, Derek live action one piece
- 40:01Speaker 4: you watch Vinlin Saga?
- 40:03Speaker 3: Was there is like is the anime like a big thing?
- 40:06Speaker 3: Obviously it's a big thing, but like was it everywhere
- 40:09Speaker 3: out there or like it's everywhere?
- 40:11Speaker 4: But dude, there must be something unique with the licensing
- 40:14Speaker 4: rights from these shows because merch is kind of hard
- 40:16Speaker 4: to find, which really bummed me out because if we're
- 40:19Speaker 4: talking about shopping, I would have done some shopping on
- 40:22Speaker 4: a bunch of anime graphic t's and everything. I was
- 40:26Speaker 4: only able to secure like one. But there's a play
- 40:31Speaker 4: it's like the anime district. It's called Akiabara, and they
- 40:34Speaker 4: have like they're really into the figurines and everything, so
- 40:38Speaker 4: there's tons of stores. But they also it's really cool
- 40:41Speaker 4: because they have a lot of the manga, so like
- 40:43Speaker 4: all the comic books, and it's so funny to see
- 40:46Speaker 4: the Japanese people on the subways and stuff reading manga
- 40:50Speaker 4: on their phone, like they're not really scrolling Twitter's obviously
- 40:53Speaker 4: some of them are on TikTok and everything, but I
- 40:56Speaker 4: caught a few people reading manga and I'm just like,
- 40:58Speaker 4: you have no idea.
- 40:59Speaker 2: How cool that? But yeah, I mean it's massive and
- 41:02Speaker 2: they all know.
- 41:03Speaker 4: Like I was able to talk to so many of
- 41:05Speaker 4: the people we ran into, like whether it would have
- 41:07Speaker 4: been if we weren't able to take the subway and
- 41:09Speaker 4: had to take.
- 41:10Speaker 2: An uber out, like ask uber driver, like what shows
- 41:12Speaker 2: do you watch?
- 41:13Speaker 4: And once I was able to drop a few that
- 41:15Speaker 4: I'm into, they kind of I could feel the respect
- 41:18Speaker 4: they had for me, like, oh, he's he's actually locked in.
- 41:22Speaker 4: That's what it was. You know, I was saying, somebody
- 41:24Speaker 4: called me an old head. Yeah, dude, this one guy.
- 41:28Speaker 2: He was asking them not unked in Japan.
- 41:30Speaker 4: By the by the porch, like the Spanish Italian Uruguayan
- 41:35Speaker 4: guy and uh.
- 41:38Speaker 2: What'd you say? Unk son Sempi?
- 41:44Speaker 4: He uh? He was asking me which anime is I liked,
- 41:47Speaker 4: you know, I always kind of start out with the
- 41:49Speaker 4: new gen ones because the people love to give you
- 41:52Speaker 4: a look of like, oh yeah, classic, like you're a
- 41:54Speaker 4: new anime guy, which I am. But I've watched some
- 41:57Speaker 4: of the OG's and I mentioned the one I'm watching
- 41:59Speaker 4: right now, which is how she made no no epo
- 42:03Speaker 4: and uh he I said that, and he hit me
- 42:06Speaker 4: with the same damn and uh, I said what you mean?
- 42:10Speaker 2: He said, you old head for sure? Huh.
- 42:12Speaker 1: I was like, God, I was just trying to respect
- 42:15Speaker 1: and he was twenty seven.
- 42:17Speaker 4: I was like, man, come on, He was like, how'd
- 42:20Speaker 4: you make no? And especially like with a Spanish accent too,
- 42:22Speaker 4: it's even funnier. But yeah, man, being in the land
- 42:27Speaker 4: where everybody watches everybody watches anime, y'a, I just felt
- 42:31Speaker 4: like I belonged. Finally, what else we got?
- 42:38Speaker 3: Y'all going to Texas text this week.
- 42:41Speaker 5: Or no, I will not be basically just like everyone
- 42:45Speaker 5: will be. Everyone will be in Texas one way or another.
- 42:47Speaker 2: Yeah, there, I'll be there.
- 42:49Speaker 5: I'll be in Texas.
- 42:50Speaker 2: In Texas, so it was pitching when are there or
- 42:53Speaker 2: the Rangers?
- 42:54Speaker 6: Yeah, probably probably Kumar Rock or Vandy Eye.
- 42:58Speaker 2: Oh yeah, he's kind of how old.
- 42:59Speaker 6: Is he He's still pretty young, right, Yeah, he's twenty six.
- 43:03Speaker 6: He was not good last year, so we'll hopefully this
- 43:06Speaker 6: year he turns it around. He was supposed to pitch
- 43:08Speaker 6: today and then I was gonna get to see something good.
- 43:10Speaker 3: But that is uh Adie going with you.
- 43:14Speaker 5: No, she won't. She won't be there for that. She's
- 43:15Speaker 5: celebring with her sister. She is moving here. Who moved here?
- 43:18Speaker 2: Actually?
- 43:19Speaker 3: Has she been to home?
- 43:20Speaker 1: Oh?
- 43:20Speaker 6: Yeah, A couple of times. We went to a wedding.
- 43:22Speaker 6: We went Christmas Thanksgiving, so.
- 43:25Speaker 2: Hey, you still both holidays?
- 43:27Speaker 6: We did two Christmases we did. We did Texas in Florida.
- 43:32Speaker 6: Thanks every will probably Florida next year. But yeah, she's
- 43:35Speaker 6: been there.
- 43:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 43:37Speaker 6: The Rangers game, I'm I'm pumped about that one. I
- 43:40Speaker 6: didn't get to go to one last year. Two years ago,
- 43:42Speaker 6: I went to the opener and then not another one
- 43:43Speaker 6: for the whole year.
- 43:44Speaker 2: What's the pulse on the Rangers this year? That's supposed
- 43:46Speaker 2: to be good or yeah.
- 43:47Speaker 5: I mean they're getting theirs kicked right now.
- 43:48Speaker 6: But they started. It's a lot, there's a there's a
- 43:51Speaker 6: lot of games. They started four and one. They lost
- 43:54Speaker 6: the first game, Clump was talking ship. Then they smacked
- 43:57Speaker 6: the Phillies two games in a row, and now they're they're
- 44:00Speaker 6: gonna be four and two here in a few minutes,
- 44:01Speaker 6: which is that's not bad.
- 44:04Speaker 5: So not bad.
- 44:04Speaker 6: Win four out of six games all year, we'll be
- 44:08Speaker 6: pretty good. I said last week. I think they're gonna
- 44:10Speaker 6: be good this year. But I don't need to get
- 44:13Speaker 6: into it. It'll be good, just believe me. If I'm
- 44:17Speaker 6: being positive about them, you know they might be good,
- 44:19Speaker 6: right although if I was being negative, they probably they're
- 44:22Speaker 6: still good.
- 44:22Speaker 2: Dude, you gotta go to this one bar.
- 44:25Speaker 4: I gotta find the name of it because it's where
- 44:27Speaker 4: I met my first friend in Dallas when I lived there.
- 44:30Speaker 4: And on maybe no, I wouldn't have been on a
- 44:34Speaker 4: Thursday because that'd be way too busy of the night,
- 44:36Speaker 4: but like on Wednesday. Maybe it's like you flip a
- 44:38Speaker 4: coin with the bartender and if you win, the beer
- 44:41Speaker 4: cost twenty five cents, and so dude, it is it
- 44:45Speaker 4: was one of the most iconic things ever.
- 44:48Speaker 2: Now, if you lose, you just paid fine with that.
- 44:51Speaker 1: You know, if I can gamble for a beer, I'm in.
- 44:53Speaker 1: But yeah, I prefer that I would like market price.
- 44:55Speaker 1: Yeah that, yeah, find that because I will go and
- 44:58Speaker 1: flip the coin just for.
- 45:00Speaker 4: Like a bar in Nashville, like maybe an East Nashville
- 45:03Speaker 4: on Tuesday. They should incorporate that somehow. It's such a
- 45:07Speaker 4: good idea.
- 45:07Speaker 2: I love that coop.
- 45:08Speaker 5: Have you heard there?
- 45:09Speaker 1: I can't remember the exact name, but when I was
- 45:11Speaker 1: at this bachelor party a couple of weeks ago, they
- 45:13Speaker 1: were talking about a place called Something's ice House.
- 45:16Speaker 6: I think, oh, yeah, I've never been, but I know Katie, Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 45:21Speaker 6: Katie Trail ice House.
- 45:22Speaker 2: It's a vibe.
- 45:22Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 45:23Speaker 1: They said, it's like an awesome outdoor patio scene that
- 45:25Speaker 1: seems like a good Friday kind of like maybe post lunch,
- 45:29Speaker 1: go check it out.
- 45:29Speaker 2: We'll see.
- 45:30Speaker 6: That'll be way closer to where you're at. But as
- 45:32Speaker 6: me and Suman where I was, I'm begging Joe T.
- 45:35Speaker 6: Garcia is it's probably a little trek not too bad,
- 45:37Speaker 6: but probably the best restaurant of all time.
- 45:39Speaker 5: That's why it is what is Mexican?
- 45:43Speaker 4: Kid?
- 45:43Speaker 6: Yeah, it's like an outdoor patio. It's really nice. I
- 45:46Speaker 6: don't have to pull up pictures.
- 45:48Speaker 1: It's yeah, it's supposed to be a hot one. I
- 45:50Speaker 1: know this weekend everywhere here in Nashville too.
- 45:53Speaker 2: You got you gotta go to the ice house. Great vibe.
- 45:56Speaker 2: It's like right on there Greenway.
- 45:58Speaker 5: You've been there before?
- 45:59Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 45:59Speaker 4: And then dude, also on Greenville Lab. Did you ever
- 46:02Speaker 4: spend much time on Greenville Ave?
- 46:04Speaker 2: Classic?
- 46:05Speaker 4: Of course, right, But they have some they have this
- 46:08Speaker 4: place and that, like I feel like there's a few
- 46:10Speaker 4: in Texas in general and other places.
- 46:12Speaker 2: But it's called the truck yard. Oh, I've been in
- 46:15Speaker 2: the truck yard, dude, truck yards. It's yeah, so I
- 46:19Speaker 2: guess it's Lower Greenville actually is the name of it.
- 46:23Speaker 4: But yeah, it's basically like you walk in and it's
- 46:25Speaker 4: just all these pieces of old trucks that are like
- 46:27Speaker 4: stuck in the dirt, and a few.
- 46:29Speaker 2: Bars are like some food trucks, trucks. It's it's a
- 46:33Speaker 2: great vibe.
- 46:34Speaker 6: There's like a centralized bar area and then two sides
- 46:38Speaker 6: all the trucks like you're talking about in different food
- 46:40Speaker 6: trucks it's like.
- 46:41Speaker 3: The trucks like a table or is it just kind
- 46:44Speaker 3: of like.
- 46:44Speaker 6: They they turn some of them that are like it's
- 46:47Speaker 6: like tailgates and they'll be like benches with the table
- 46:50Speaker 6: in between. Like it's kind of hard to explain, but
- 46:53Speaker 6: it is.
- 46:53Speaker 5: That place is sick, dude.
- 46:55Speaker 2: There's so Dallas has so many fun.
- 46:57Speaker 1: I'm so far it up because like as an adult
- 46:59Speaker 1: and and we're fortunate enough with work that we've got
- 47:01Speaker 1: to experience a lot of cool cities like big and small.
- 47:04Speaker 1: And this is one of the first times in the
- 47:06Speaker 1: last few years where I'm going to a very major
- 47:09Speaker 1: metropolitan area that I've never been to except for commuting
- 47:12Speaker 1: through an airport. So just to like get that first
- 47:14Speaker 1: taste of it and like really develop like how I
- 47:17Speaker 1: feel about it.
- 47:17Speaker 2: I'm pumped.
- 47:18Speaker 1: I think the older you get, you kind of realize
- 47:21Speaker 1: you only get to visit x amount of cities for
- 47:23Speaker 1: the first time again, and you know inside the US,
- 47:26Speaker 1: Like like I said, you know, we get to see
- 47:28Speaker 1: a lot of them. So I'm I'm excited to come
- 47:31Speaker 1: back and hopefully with some good news that Dallas is
- 47:34Speaker 1: them or him or her, whichever one you want. We're
- 47:37Speaker 1: gonna figure it out.
- 47:39Speaker 2: I love it. I think Dallas is him.
- 47:40Speaker 3: There's a to go back to, like the tailgate or
- 47:43Speaker 3: the truck placers a bar and I think San Diego
- 47:46Speaker 3: Brook was telling me about like you rent out. I
- 47:49Speaker 3: don't know if you rent or you just kind of
- 47:50Speaker 3: get placed. You get in like a motor home or
- 47:53Speaker 3: like a yeah, kind of like a motor home and
- 47:56Speaker 3: like that's your section for the night and like you
- 47:59Speaker 3: just kind of you're kind of hanging out in like
- 48:01Speaker 3: your own little room by yourself.
- 48:02Speaker 2: Nephew would hate it, yeah or no, Matt, Yeah, I.
- 48:07Speaker 3: Look heard hate and look at I heard hate, and
- 48:13Speaker 3: I'm like Coop hates everything so except except except the
- 48:16Speaker 3: Rangers and the Cardinals.
- 48:18Speaker 5: But oh I hate the Cardinals.
- 48:22Speaker 3: But like Brooke went there for like a bachelotte party
- 48:24Speaker 3: and said it was like the most fun. That's really cool,
- 48:27Speaker 3: and I fun bars are very so fun. No, it
- 48:32Speaker 3: sounds really dumb but really like underrated and there's not
- 48:35Speaker 3: enough of like those cool type bars, like you just
- 48:38Speaker 3: have like your stereotypical bar. And it's like you're just
- 48:41Speaker 3: as shame as every other one here.
- 48:42Speaker 4: I'm with you as a person that doesn't really enjoy
- 48:44Speaker 4: going to bars that much. When there is a fun one,
- 48:48Speaker 4: it just I will go back to that one. Yeah,
- 48:51Speaker 4: it puts it over the top for me.
- 48:53Speaker 3: Where are we at, Derek Perfect Spot? Next week we
- 49:00Speaker 3: have a very very special guest.
- 49:03Speaker 1: Is he gonna be a one on one?
- 49:04Speaker 3: No, it'll be it'll be a couple of us. But
- 49:07Speaker 3: unfortunately y'all two won't be here.
- 49:09Speaker 1: I know, I hate that you announce it. The guess
- 49:12Speaker 1: is he's already been announced.
- 49:13Speaker 3: It hasn't been announced, but I'm gonna.
- 49:15Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel like you gotta you gotta tell the people.
- 49:18Speaker 3: Next week we have a very special guest. Supercrosses in
- 49:20Speaker 3: town and therefore my family comes down every year for it,
- 49:24Speaker 3: and my brother Nate Carsley is flying in Tuesday night
- 49:28Speaker 3: and he's strictly coming in that early just so he
- 49:31Speaker 3: can come and sit on the inside the bus set.
- 49:33Speaker 1: Coming a week early, just on the bus and beyond.
- 49:37Speaker 3: And what sucks is that y'all are not gonna be here.
- 49:45Speaker 3: But if y'all have any questions you want to ask him.
- 49:47Speaker 1: I might have to create a couple just because your
- 49:49Speaker 1: brother geeks me out. I mean him had a good
- 49:51Speaker 1: time the last time he was in Nashville.
- 49:53Speaker 6: Yeah, this means I'm gonna have to step up and
- 49:54Speaker 6: actually ask questions we can, like he's.
- 49:58Speaker 3: Really looking for Like when we first art, he's like, bro,
- 50:00Speaker 3: like you need to get me on there. I'm like,
- 50:02Speaker 3: you gotta come down, Like what do you mean? And
- 50:04Speaker 3: he's like all right, And then he's like, I'm thinking
- 50:06Speaker 3: I'm coming down Tuesday, Like why that early is like
- 50:09Speaker 3: to come on inside the bus? What do you mean?
- 50:11Speaker 3: So I talked it'll be us too, and then probably
- 50:14Speaker 3: Matt interviewing my brother, which will be time.
- 50:19Speaker 2: Last time he was here, he fell asleep on the couch,
- 50:21Speaker 2: right friend he was here.
- 50:24Speaker 3: He was here April of last year, him and his uh,
- 50:31Speaker 3: one of his buddies who's working down here, and like
- 50:33Speaker 3: this somehow ended up being down here at the same time.
- 50:37Speaker 3: He'll he'll be in I don't know if he'll be
- 50:40Speaker 3: coming in the shop, but Nate and him last year
- 50:42Speaker 3: just fell asleep in there because they were just out
- 50:44Speaker 3: until three or four every every night. And I'm sure
- 50:47Speaker 3: it'll be the same thing this this time around. But yeah,
- 50:51Speaker 3: it'll be he'll be shacking up with us for a
- 50:53Speaker 3: couple of couple of days, which will be interesting. But
- 50:55Speaker 3: weeks n I'm trying to I'm trying to get Nate
- 50:59Speaker 3: to move out of because he needs to get out
- 51:01Speaker 3: of there.
- 51:01Speaker 5: But he how old is he again?
- 51:04Speaker 3: He is twenty he's twenty four, twenty.
- 51:08Speaker 2: Five And wait does he work concrete?
- 51:11Speaker 3: Yes? And I'm like, bro, Nashville just keeps pouring concrete
- 51:15Speaker 3: everywhere at the butt concrete. Yeah, like comportunity to come
- 51:20Speaker 3: join the concrete jungle down here or something. But no,
- 51:25Speaker 3: that is my roommate from college, which we will get
- 51:29Speaker 3: into closer to Christmas time.
- 51:31Speaker 2: I thought you were about to do an early pol.
- 51:33Speaker 3: No, but yeah, we have a special guest next week
- 51:36Speaker 3: and it'll be it'll be cool.
- 51:38Speaker 4: Hey, you know how he was, how him and his
- 51:41Speaker 4: boy were napping on the couch last time they were here.
- 51:43Speaker 4: There's something about like the because your brother he works
- 51:47Speaker 4: in concrete, like hard work. There's something about like the
- 51:50Speaker 4: blue collar nap that I just pardon me, envies and
- 51:55Speaker 4: I'm like, man, I wonder like what my life would
- 51:57Speaker 4: be like if I was living like I would probably
- 51:59Speaker 4: be eping so much better.
- 52:01Speaker 2: And it's just something about seeing a.
- 52:02Speaker 4: Guy jeans on, belt buckled all the way, tight boots
- 52:07Speaker 4: on like and it's probably the worst thing you could
- 52:09Speaker 4: think of to sleep in, just in full r e M.
- 52:12Speaker 1: Probably got a can in the back pocket.
- 52:16Speaker 3: And but like that wasn't a blue collar nap. That
- 52:20Speaker 3: was a hungover nop.
- 52:21Speaker 2: Right, but he had the blue collar look.
- 52:23Speaker 3: Yeah, he him, and I him, and I like, I'm
- 52:26Speaker 3: wearing like a T shirt, shorts and like these shoes.
- 52:29Speaker 1: Hey show off with my tops.
- 52:32Speaker 3: On him and I could not be more polar opposite.
- 52:35Speaker 3: And it's gonna be funny when he's sitting right here,
- 52:38Speaker 3: like this is my brother, and he's gonna be He's
- 52:40Speaker 3: gonna have his hat on, he's gonna have his mustache,
- 52:42Speaker 3: he's gonna have like just shit kicker shirt, belt, jeans
- 52:47Speaker 3: and boots and first.
- 52:49Speaker 1: First family member on the pod for anyone, Right.
- 52:52Speaker 4: Yeah, gotta believe Camps next gotta get have left a
- 52:56Speaker 4: juicy comment on my post this morning, all out, Yeah.
- 53:01Speaker 3: We gotta get uh Jimmy on.
- 53:03Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 53:04Speaker 1: If he just never comes back, I guess we could
- 53:05Speaker 1: do like a zoom interview like eight am for him
- 53:08Speaker 1: in Hawaii. But whenever he comes back, he's actually to
- 53:10Speaker 1: say He's mentioned that too. But I'm a little bit
- 53:13Speaker 1: harder on him like yeah, I don't know, let's see.
- 53:15Speaker 3: Yeah, Nate. He listens to this ship all the time,
- 53:18Speaker 3: so shout out Nate, Nate, Nate. Look forward to that
- 53:21Speaker 3: next week and we will catch you for forty three
- 53:25Speaker 3: with my brother JP.
- 53:27Speaker 1: You want to sign us off, sign us off. Just
- 53:29Speaker 1: give one last thank you to Japan about
