- 0:20Speaker 2: And I am here in Las Vegas at Bravo Con.
- 0:24Speaker 2: I'm so excited to be here, and I'm even more
- 0:27Speaker 2: excited for my guest today because everyone knows her, everyone's
- 0:32Speaker 2: talking about her, and she is a little doll. Hello
- 0:34Speaker 2: to Britney Babeman. Thank you so much, Brittan, thank you
- 0:37Speaker 2: so much for coming on. Oh my gosh, I'm so
- 0:39Speaker 2: grateful to be here. I'm very excited to meet you,
- 0:42Speaker 2: to see you.
- 0:43Speaker 1: You're doing good. It's fun to see you in the flesh.
- 0:45Speaker 1: I know. I actually give you a real hug. I agree,
- 0:47Speaker 1: I agree.
- 0:48Speaker 2: So you probably know now this podcast is about part two.
- 0:52Speaker 2: I've had my own Part two. All of our guests
- 0:55Speaker 2: have had. He's not really well. We were separated for
- 0:57Speaker 2: year and a half, so we call that our part two. Yes, anyway,
- 1:00Speaker 2: not about me, So you is not what about you?
- 1:03Speaker 2: I mean usually I like it to be, but I'm
- 1:05Speaker 2: gonna focus on you. My friend got to go. So
- 1:07Speaker 2: you I believe you've been married twice. Yes, okay, so
- 1:12Speaker 2: tell me a little bit if you wouldn't mind about
- 1:15Speaker 2: how it feels how, you know, just going through marriage
- 1:18Speaker 2: twice and yeah, I just don't know and a little
- 1:20Speaker 2: bit about those relationships.
- 1:21Speaker 3: Honestly, if I could go back and do it again,
- 1:23Speaker 3: I would do it the heatherway, the Heather Gay way. Yeah,
- 1:26Speaker 3: hey that kind of rhymes, the Heather Gay way, and
- 1:29Speaker 3: just like focused solely on my kids.
- 1:31Speaker 1: There were so many things at play.
- 1:33Speaker 3: There was you know, low self esteem coming out of
- 1:36Speaker 3: that first marriage and wanting that validation that you know,
- 1:39Speaker 3: I still am someone. There was also this really strong
- 1:43Speaker 3: element of I want the kind of family that I deserve,
- 1:47Speaker 3: and I want my kids to have the kind of
- 1:50Speaker 3: upbringing that I had, So I want to find a
- 1:53Speaker 3: partner that will be a parent and equal, you know,
- 1:56Speaker 3: Like I just wanted get that, just the traditional family
- 1:59Speaker 3: that I was raised in, and I thought that I
- 2:01Speaker 3: had found that and it couldn't have backfired worse than
- 2:04Speaker 3: it did.
- 2:05Speaker 2: I've gone through many periods in my life where I've
- 2:07Speaker 2: needed validation from men and where I've made men a priority. Yeah,
- 2:13Speaker 2: and when my husband and I were separated, I wish
- 2:16Speaker 2: looking back that I had just had they were there
- 2:21Speaker 2: always a priority, But I probably wouldn't have done the
- 2:24Speaker 2: whole thing in terms of like my children and I
- 2:26Speaker 2: don't know, separating from Jeff. But that's okay because here
- 2:28Speaker 2: we are to tell the story.
- 2:30Speaker 3: Here we are exactly with scratches and scars, and hopefully
- 2:33Speaker 3: we'll just I don't know, gosh, hopefully all wounds can heal.
- 2:37Speaker 2: Yes they Yes, what I'm it's what I'm banking on
- 2:39Speaker 2: bringing on. I know, I know that they will, and
- 2:42Speaker 2: the new wounds will come, unfortunately.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Yes, new deep wounds will come. So what do you
- 2:47Speaker 1: like got you through the divorces?
- 2:50Speaker 2: You know, it's so devastating what you learn about yourself
- 2:53Speaker 2: those marriages ending.
- 2:55Speaker 3: You know, Just man, that's a really really good question.
- 2:59Speaker 3: What did I learn so much? I mean, I feel
- 3:01Speaker 3: like I'm a completely different person. My priorities are totally different.
- 3:05Speaker 3: I think that I've learned to not care what anyone
- 3:07Speaker 3: else thinks. And I'm looking back, I'm really glad that
- 3:12Speaker 3: for the moments I wasn't always perfect, but most of
- 3:14Speaker 3: the time I took the high road, whether or not
- 3:17Speaker 3: they were doing the same. Yeah, And I feel like
- 3:20Speaker 3: at least I can feel good about that.
- 3:22Speaker 1: Yeah, of course, your side of the street was.
- 3:24Speaker 3: Yeah, my side of the street was as clean as
- 3:26Speaker 3: I could make it, and you know I was. I
- 3:29Speaker 3: did my best to be kind, and sometimes that came
- 3:33Speaker 3: to bite me in the butt, you know, came back
- 3:35Speaker 3: to hurt me because I was I wasn't protecting myself enough.
- 3:38Speaker 3: But still, looking back, I'm still glad that I didn't
- 3:40Speaker 3: change who I was intrinsically.
- 3:43Speaker 2: Yeah, me too, because it is They say you can
- 3:45Speaker 2: get divorced it, yeah you can.
- 3:47Speaker 1: And divorce is a bitch oh.
- 3:49Speaker 3: Yeah, And to choose to be classy rather than bitchy
- 3:53Speaker 3: is always the right choice.
- 3:54Speaker 1: I agree.
- 3:54Speaker 2: Actually, I think that's again. I don't know why it
- 3:57Speaker 2: always has to be about me, but I remember, but
- 3:59Speaker 2: I was separated. It was so important to me to
- 4:02Speaker 2: never bed mouth yeah my husband in front of the
- 4:05Speaker 2: kids too. Let's be kind anyway again, not about me. Well,
- 4:09Speaker 2: I wasn't always.
- 4:09Speaker 1: Perfect at that. It's hard.
- 4:11Speaker 3: Yeah, And I've got my daughter here with me, sitting
- 4:13Speaker 3: in their room, and for that, truly, I am sorry. Sweetheart.
- 4:16Speaker 2: I have to say I met your daughter earlier, and
- 4:18Speaker 2: I didn't meet her in distress, and I think I
- 4:20Speaker 2: was just like a little taken back.
- 4:21Speaker 1: You're so adorable and pretty and sweet.
- 4:25Speaker 3: Yes, a beautiful journey and for that I truly apologize
- 4:29Speaker 3: Olivia for not, you know, always being perfected, always speaking
- 4:33Speaker 3: like you said, always taking the high roads.
- 4:35Speaker 1: So he said I would digress.
- 4:36Speaker 2: But yeah, well here's here's that's the news flash for Brittany,
- 4:39Speaker 2: for my daughter Rachel. No parent is perfect. I am not,
- 4:44Speaker 2: and she my daughter, will not be. But we love
- 4:47Speaker 2: you guys unconditionally anyway. Yes, So, I don't know if
- 4:51Speaker 2: you've heard of this guy's name is Jared Osmond. I
- 4:54Speaker 2: don't know if anyone ever asked you about him. Have
- 4:56Speaker 2: you ever spoken about him before?
- 4:58Speaker 1: Has he ever entered your life?
- 5:00Speaker 3: I was scared to say his name because I just
- 5:02Speaker 3: I did my hair today and I don't want it
- 5:04Speaker 3: to get wet.
- 5:06Speaker 1: Okay, well I'm not. It's is that fair have anything
- 5:10Speaker 1: to worry about with me? Okay?
- 5:11Speaker 2: You don't having drinks in hand? Nothing, not interested in that. No,
- 5:14Speaker 2: we're not on the same franchise, absolutely not.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Okay tell me.
- 5:19Speaker 2: Okay, so just a little bit about where you guys
- 5:20Speaker 2: are right now, because you know, we're.
- 5:22Speaker 3: Friends right now and we're really really really good friends
- 5:24Speaker 3: at the Friendly Platonic Okay, okay, really like it's it's
- 5:30Speaker 3: a beautiful place to be. He makes a fantastic best friend.
- 5:33Speaker 3: He's my emergency contact. He really is like a like
- 5:37Speaker 3: just a really good person, And I feel badly that
- 5:40Speaker 3: no one gets to see that.
- 5:41Speaker 1: Side tough for him. It's so hard on him.
- 5:44Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, it breaks my heart to see how it
- 5:46Speaker 3: breaks his heart, because he really gets he's the butt
- 5:50Speaker 3: of all the jokes, you know, and I just because
- 5:52Speaker 3: I know they feel badly about that, I do too.
- 5:54Speaker 1: Actually, I feel badly for my part in.
- 5:56Speaker 3: That, really because I wish I want, you know, to
- 6:00Speaker 3: defend him more, because he deserves that.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Yeah, it kind of sucks for him now that I'm
- 6:05Speaker 2: thinking about him about it. What do you think it
- 6:07Speaker 2: is about him that has drawn you in?
- 6:09Speaker 1: Though? So many times?
- 6:10Speaker 3: His kindness and generosity. He is literally the most generous
- 6:14Speaker 3: person I've ever met, Like if I need anything anything,
- 6:18Speaker 3: like I mean, I'll give you one example if I
- 6:21Speaker 3: had a window blow in. We had this really strange
- 6:24Speaker 3: mini hurricane in Utah last summer and I window literally
- 6:29Speaker 3: blew in my house and the rain started coming in.
- 6:32Speaker 1: And who did I pick up the phone to call?
- 6:34Speaker 1: It was Jared. I get that.
- 6:35Speaker 3: It was literally like ten o'clock at night, he dropped
- 6:39Speaker 3: whatever he was doing. He's probably on a date because
- 6:41Speaker 3: we were broken up at the time. Yeah, and he
- 6:43Speaker 3: came running to my house and he and I and
- 6:47Speaker 3: my dad spent the whole night mopping the floor up
- 6:49Speaker 3: with towels and putting out fans. And he got his
- 6:52Speaker 3: contractor guys in the next day, you know. I mean,
- 6:55Speaker 3: he just he's just that kind of person. Yeah, I
- 6:57Speaker 3: mean my emergency call, so I get that. What do
- 7:00Speaker 3: you feel like about him, Olivia?
- 7:02Speaker 4: I like him as a person and I don't like
- 7:05Speaker 4: him as a boyfriend.
- 7:06Speaker 1: For my mom, I think.
- 7:08Speaker 2: I dig your honesty. I dig how you take it.
- 7:11Speaker 2: That's very cool.
- 7:12Speaker 4: Yeah, I think that they're bad together, okay, and I
- 7:15Speaker 4: think she deserves better.
- 7:17Speaker 3: But talk about like the rescuing that he's done for
- 7:21Speaker 3: He's done a lot.
- 7:22Speaker 4: Of nice things for me, Like my car broke down
- 7:25Speaker 4: and he I called him and he came to the rescue.
- 7:28Speaker 4: So yes, like, he definitely has good traits. And I
- 7:32Speaker 4: think that if they're platonically best friends for the rest
- 7:34Speaker 4: of their life, that's great. Just not platonic best friends
- 7:39Speaker 4: that make out every once in a while.
- 7:41Speaker 1: What but the makeouts are so good.
- 7:44Speaker 3: I wants to hear that I have non comital makeouts occasionally.
- 7:49Speaker 2: God, Betty ever kissed my husband on the lips in
- 7:50Speaker 2: front of my children and they're twenty three and twenty
- 7:52Speaker 2: five now, they like turned to stone.
- 7:54Speaker 3: No made that mistake once before, haven't I.
- 7:58Speaker 1: I've made that a city how many times? And not
- 8:01Speaker 1: many times? Many times?
- 8:03Speaker 4: One time he's coming to Bravo coon maybe and he
- 8:06Speaker 4: wants to maybe put a mustache on and walk around
- 8:08Speaker 4: and see if he what what Bravo cons All night?
- 8:12Speaker 1: I told my mom is I'm going to be third
- 8:14Speaker 1: wheeling this trip now? No, no, no, you are not.
- 8:17Speaker 1: You're not because you're gonna be with me. I'm gonna
- 8:19Speaker 1: come find you and the wheel. You're not going to
- 8:22Speaker 1: third wheel. I promise.
- 8:23Speaker 4: We even have a signal if you feel like you're
- 8:26Speaker 4: a death glare, listen.
- 8:27Speaker 1: Here's the thing. It means, stop making out with your
- 8:29Speaker 1: boyfriend me. Here's here's the thing.
- 8:32Speaker 2: Everybody here is going to be watching her and making
- 8:34Speaker 2: sure that she's watching you.
- 8:37Speaker 1: I think pressure is on. It is my god, you're
- 8:44Speaker 1: throwing me. She's here because she wants to be with you,
- 8:50Speaker 1: and which I just absolutely get it. And what did
- 8:52Speaker 1: I say when you said your feelings might be hurt
- 8:54Speaker 1: this morning? What did I tell you? I don't remember,
- 8:57Speaker 1: Yes I do. I think.
- 9:00Speaker 3: Well you said, you said, well, why can't you just
- 9:02Speaker 3: do everything you can to shut it down and tell
- 9:04Speaker 3: him not to come? I said, okay, done. I picked
- 9:06Speaker 3: up my phone, and she's like, well wait wait wait
- 9:08Speaker 3: wait wait, maybe he can come. Remember I was ready
- 9:11Speaker 3: to shut that down, okay. And I'm not the one
- 9:13Speaker 3: that invited him. He said that he was going to come,
- 9:15Speaker 3: which is by.
- 9:16Speaker 2: The way, And Olivia, you are going to know this.
- 9:18Speaker 2: We all deal with it differently, falling in love, and
- 9:21Speaker 2: it's you know it. It can be messy and it
- 9:24Speaker 2: could be overwhelming. And do you think that it's so
- 9:29Speaker 2: maybe hard for you to be alone?
- 9:30Speaker 1: I mean I don't.
- 9:31Speaker 2: I'm of course, yeah, yeah it really is. Yeah, a
- 9:34Speaker 2: lot of women find it very difficult. It's not it's
- 9:37Speaker 2: not that I don't love being alone. I actually love
- 9:39Speaker 2: being alone in my house.
- 9:41Speaker 3: Just the toes, and it's just you know, I love
- 9:45Speaker 3: peace and quiet. But it isn't that it's just like
- 9:48Speaker 3: what do I do when my window blows in? I
- 9:50Speaker 3: mean I sometimes you just.
- 9:51Speaker 1: Need a person.
- 9:53Speaker 2: There's actually this thing. They're called a handyman, and what
- 9:56Speaker 2: you do is you get money and then they come over. Okay,
- 9:58Speaker 2: but find a handyman. It will drop what they're doing
- 10:01Speaker 2: and come over at ten o'clock at night. I know,
- 10:02Speaker 2: but I like to think that Jared has a million
- 10:04Speaker 2: other things that you make you fall in love with
- 10:06Speaker 2: him than just that he's going to come over.
- 10:07Speaker 1: It's not that.
- 10:08Speaker 3: It's literally I don't know what it is. I think
- 10:10Speaker 3: we honestly, you want the honest truth. I think we
- 10:13Speaker 3: trauma bonded because I don't.
- 10:15Speaker 2: Know how you.
- 10:15Speaker 1: I don't know if you know how we met. Do
- 10:17Speaker 1: you know how we met? Please tell me? Oh well,
- 10:19Speaker 1: let me tell you a little tale.
- 10:20Speaker 3: So one day I met my office, my home office,
- 10:23Speaker 3: do to do working, and I get this phone call
- 10:26Speaker 3: and I pick it up.
- 10:27Speaker 1: Oh hi, it's Jared Osmond. I'm like, oh hi, how
- 10:31Speaker 1: you doing?
- 10:31Speaker 3: And he's like, well, not well actually, and I was
- 10:33Speaker 3: like all right, I'm like for I've never met him
- 10:36Speaker 3: in my life, right, And so he proceeds to tell
- 10:38Speaker 3: me that his fiance is now dating exclusively my husband.
- 10:45Speaker 1: That's how we met. Oh my god. So yeah, at
- 10:48Speaker 1: that time was he your husband or was her? He
- 10:50Speaker 1: was my husband at the time, get out. No, have
- 10:53Speaker 1: you told that story on the show? I don't know
- 10:56Speaker 1: that I have. I mean I would suggest you do well.
- 10:59Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, And I mean it was why he had
- 11:01Speaker 3: already served him papers and he wasn't he had been
- 11:03Speaker 3: removed from the house with a protective order at that point.
- 11:06Speaker 3: So for me it was not as traumatic. But for Jared,
- 11:10Speaker 3: I mean he called me two days after he found
- 11:13Speaker 3: out that they were shocking up, you know, wow, and
- 11:16Speaker 3: he was horriboke. We trauma bonded, yeah, right off the bat,
- 11:20Speaker 3: and that turned into a best friendship. Yeah, where we
- 11:23Speaker 3: didn't even see each other. We talked for hours on
- 11:24Speaker 3: the phone, and then we met finally fell in love
- 11:27Speaker 3: and the rest is history.
- 11:28Speaker 1: So I'm sure he took one look at you and
- 11:30Speaker 1: the rest was history.
- 11:31Speaker 4: But that's just me.
- 11:33Speaker 1: Thank you. Okay. So I know you've had issues with Jared.
- 11:45Speaker 2: Do you feel like there's been a relationship in your
- 11:47Speaker 2: life that has been not as toxic, like, I mean,
- 11:50Speaker 2: you were married twice before, but this has just been
- 11:52Speaker 2: sort of easy.
- 11:53Speaker 1: And have you had have I have? I, Livy, I
- 11:58Speaker 1: don't know, don't know.
- 12:01Speaker 3: I would say, yeah, the beginning with Olivia's dad was
- 12:05Speaker 3: absolutely IOUs. I was to stay home mom for a
- 12:06Speaker 3: whole decade, which I I feel so privileged to have
- 12:10Speaker 3: had that time. And that really is because he worked
- 12:14Speaker 3: his butt off so that I could be a stay
- 12:16Speaker 3: at home mom with our kids and that I'm so
- 12:19Speaker 3: eternally grateful to him.
- 12:21Speaker 1: But yeah, it was it was dreamy for a while.
- 12:23Speaker 1: So yeah, I mean that is that is dreamy. I
- 12:26Speaker 1: love that myself.
- 12:27Speaker 2: So so the women have been hard on you, but
- 12:30Speaker 2: we're not really talking about that, but I'm just curious.
- 12:32Speaker 2: Have any of them tried to set you up? No?
- 12:36Speaker 3: No, actually, well I think that there was hope that
- 12:40Speaker 3: I would, you know, be set up with Captain Jason,
- 12:42Speaker 3: but he was having none of that.
- 12:44Speaker 1: Yeah, he made that.
- 12:44Speaker 2: I was about to say, like that real clear, right,
- 12:47Speaker 2: I mean I don't do you think he's the kind
- 12:48Speaker 2: at want. I feel like he just is floating around
- 12:51Speaker 2: and if whoever gets in his way, he'll stop there.
- 12:55Speaker 3: So if you want like professional, yeah he's really he
- 12:58Speaker 3: was so professional like so there was no hanky p
- 13:01Speaker 3: I know is I've never seen him, sorry Jeffessler, but
- 13:05Speaker 3: that is like that's a gorgeous man. No, he really is,
- 13:08Speaker 3: and he's an even he's just as gorgeous on the inside.
- 13:11Speaker 1: He's a really really good person. He's really good at
- 13:13Speaker 1: what he does. Yeah, super Professor Jared's coming, so it
- 13:16Speaker 1: doesn't even matter.
- 13:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I know, but Jared and our friends. I like
- 13:20Speaker 2: to see you hook up with it Captain Jason in
- 13:22Speaker 2: front of Jared. No, I would like to see that, right, Olivia.
- 13:25Speaker 1: I'm sure that would go well.
- 13:27Speaker 2: I was going to ask you, are there any other
- 13:29Speaker 2: guys at Bravocan that you would like to Olivia's here
- 13:32Speaker 2: get to know?
- 13:34Speaker 3: Well, I mean, you're making me blush and asking, yes,
- 13:40Speaker 3: I I have a little bit of chemistry with someone
- 13:44Speaker 3: else on the show.
- 13:45Speaker 1: Come on on the show, on your ship, Oh, on
- 13:48Speaker 1: the ship. Yes, I don't know all the guys on
- 13:49Speaker 1: the ships here too. I'm embarrassed to say, yes he is.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Everyone keeps taking the name Mike.
- 13:54Speaker 2: Is that his name?
- 13:55Speaker 1: No, No, Mike is adorable. You don't have to say
- 13:57Speaker 1: Heather claimed him. Oh okay, I thought he all right?
- 14:00Speaker 2: Whenever I can't keep up with Salt Lake City, Okay, yeah,
- 14:07Speaker 2: welcome to Jersey. We have the same So okay, I've
- 14:11Speaker 2: got two more questions. Who do you think in your
- 14:14Speaker 2: cast has a marriage worth emulating? Oh?
- 14:17Speaker 1: Gosh, you know what I used to say, Lisa. I
- 14:19Speaker 1: used to say Lisa. But this last you know, when
- 14:22Speaker 1: the season mid.
- 14:24Speaker 2: Trailer drops, I was shocked. Yeah, I literally thought they
- 14:29Speaker 2: had the perfect marriage. But I don't remember the I mean,
- 14:32Speaker 2: I remember I saw the last episode I saw. Okay,
- 14:35Speaker 2: we're not going there.
- 14:36Speaker 3: Okay, I mean it's I I don't know any more
- 14:38Speaker 3: than anyone else. Yes, because she and I aren't really
- 14:41Speaker 3: chatting right now. Yeah, sadly, we were really good friends.
- 14:46Speaker 3: I am trying to think. I mean, I think Angie
- 14:49Speaker 3: and Sean have something really special, right, Yeah, yeah, I agree.
- 14:53Speaker 2: And lastly, but certainly not leastly, you are headlining your
- 14:57Speaker 2: own cabaret show called What About Me and Evening with
- 15:00Speaker 2: Brittany Bateman December fifth and sixth in New York.
- 15:05Speaker 1: Go tell us about it.
- 15:06Speaker 3: Well, we sold out December fifth, and we opened up
- 15:09Speaker 3: the second night because the venue happened to have the
- 15:12Speaker 3: night open.
- 15:13Speaker 1: We opened it up.
- 15:13Speaker 2: We're almost sold out of that too, am I invented?
- 15:16Speaker 2: By the way, will you please come, I'm only over
- 15:18Speaker 2: the bridge?
- 15:18Speaker 1: Are you kidding?
