- 0:05Drama Darling Drama, Darling Drama, Darling. Hey, everybody, welcome back
- 0:20to Drama Darling. I Mamie Phillips joining me as always is Emily desis em
- 0:24how's it going? Are you recovered from Bravo Kan yet? We are day
- 0:28four out? It's Thursday. Check in with me. How are you feeling.
- 0:33I'm finally able to process what happened at Bravo Kan a little bit,
- 0:38but it's still it's a lot. There's still so much coming out that I
- 0:41didn't even know was happening. You, I know, everything was on the
- 0:45peripheral at times that we didn't know it was unfurling as we didn't know it.
- 0:50And thank goodness to all of the accounts out there that are just bringing
- 0:53it to us day after day, and I'm not tired of seeing it.
- 0:58Like it's crazy that brav ended days ago and it was only last night I
- 1:03was made aware that Sonia Morgan has been having sex with Owen Wilson in an
- 1:14asil Ohen Wilson, we did it and stud I mean on a yacht.
- 1:19I can't. Okay, please break down this story for me. Where she
- 1:23said this on a panel, Yes, she was on the Legacy panel.
- 1:29I guess I honestly, it was that round robin thing where you didn't know
- 1:33who said what and Andy put it out there. I forget the game and
- 1:38Darling's you probably know the whole thing, but I just it was something where
- 1:42Sonia there was a factoid and someone had to identify who it was about and
- 1:47who said it. Okay, something that was personal that we don't know from
- 1:51the show. And apparently Sonia Morgan is I mean. And then also she's
- 1:59like and he likes it from behind, I'm like and poor like Owen Wilson
- 2:04was not counting on this. Where is Owen Wilson today? Like is he
- 2:10married and have a family? Like, and all of a sudden the headlines
- 2:14are like Owen Wilson, Owen Wilson, like sure from her heart, I
- 2:17don't know. And Sonia Morgan, you know she's been with the most she
- 2:24hasn't she been like with Robert de Niro, alpac you know, something like
- 2:29she's gone and been Kennedy John or like yeah, Jack Nicholson, I don't
- 2:36know someone of that acting caliber. Yeah, Sonya, Sonya, she has
- 2:43the last time of all the time, she sure does. Well, thank
- 2:46you for reminding me that was not in my news though it should be.
- 2:50I had a screenshot to mention that, but I didn't get there. But
- 2:54we do have some more news that's like unraveling from Bravocan, but all so
- 3:00in real time. Let me before we get into that, let me remind
- 3:04you that my Cabaremy that was in Las Vegas during BRAVOCN sponsored by twenty one
- 3:09Seats Tequila is available to streams. So you can go to patreon dot com
- 3:15backslash Drama Darling backslash shop and you can see it there. You don't have
- 3:21to be a patron to watch it, just to make an account and you
- 3:24just you purchase it. It's a digital purchase. You can stream it and
- 3:29please do not forward or share with anyone under twenty one, and please drink
- 3:32responsibly. Also over on the Patreon, we are doing bonus episodes of Winterhouse.
- 3:39So we did an app yesterday Angela and I that's up there. Today
- 3:44we're talking Beverly Hills and after the drama interview today is going to be Tommy
- 3:49Horder, who's an interior designer who I found on TikTok, who is spectacular
- 3:54and he actually he doesn't do this all the time, but he has dipped
- 3:58into doing reviews of how swives homes and apartments and things, so and I
- 4:02just find them so fascinating. He really breaks it down from a structural standpoint,
- 4:06from a design standpoint, and also being a Bravo fans standpoint knowing the
- 4:11world. So that is after the Beverly Hills recap, you just gonna You're
- 4:15just gonna just jump right into that, So stay around after this recap.
- 4:21In the meantime, let's get into some dish emalaie serving dish. The sag
- 4:28strike is over a sag after a oh, thank god, we are done.
- 4:32We're done. Yeah, LA's back, baby, Los Angeles, Thanks
- 4:35God. I swear I was worried. I was. I've been on pins
- 4:40and needles this week more than ever because I just really didn't have any faith
- 4:44in the AMPTP to come to the table with an agreement because they're just like
- 4:47a housewife. They storm off that reunion stage and then like I'm done,
- 4:51I'm done, I'm done filming, you know. Yeah, and the last
- 4:55and best Yeah, last and best offer. That was it. But the
- 5:00MPTP showed themselves as the true housewife that they are and they always will come
- 5:04back. Yeah, they always come back. So there you go, so
- 5:10please to report that actors can go back to their livelihood and what seems like
- 5:15a good agreement. I have not gone through it with a fine tooth comb.
- 5:19I just got the headlines, but I'm thrilled about what it looks like
- 5:24and so happy for our union to have stood strong. And though I wasn't
- 5:29able to make it out on the picket lines any day because I work so
- 5:31much on this podcast, I was there in spirit. I had my T
- 5:36shirt, I was supporting, and I'm so proud of all my actor and
- 5:41writer friends who just stood strong and like just made it happen. So good
- 5:47job, everybody, good job, and we're back. Who we're back?
- 5:51Now? Now we got to talk about what dropped today, Heather. Okay,
- 5:58So Salt Lake City. Emily and I did our recap of Salt Lake
- 6:01City that's over on Patreon. We posted it yesterday, and she and I
- 6:05got into this whole thing about Monica and the Monica and Lisa argument, and
- 6:12that was interesting in and of itself. But what has unraveled to yesterday was
- 6:17this lawsuit that's happening because let's also say, okay, Darling, Emily wants
- 6:24to compartmentalize this. Okay, she wants to know. I'm just guessing you
- 6:28want fans to know, I should say, the fans of Salt Lake City
- 6:32to know that you stood by Monica in that fight with Lisa, but not
- 6:38necessarily in what's happening with this news story. Am I right? That's right?
- 6:43And Amy went very hard for Lisa. Yes, Lisa was right,
- 6:46and I said Monica was right and wrong. Right, And we did a
- 6:50poll and we did a poll. And how that poll go for you?
- 6:54There? Well, last I checked, everyone was team Monica, and I
- 6:58was, I was a losing back for your bitch wife here, and I
- 7:01just was it was worth opening seventy Patreon accounts at the tier three level.
- 7:10A. You botied me, you bought it all. You bought it and
- 7:15botched it, Emily, Okay, so you went on that account. Okay,
- 7:18you win, you win, you know what, I'm sorry, you
- 7:21win? Yes, I winning, because let me tell you, it's a
- 7:28flawed being. I'm not denying that. So Selvim really enjoying her on the
- 7:31show. Amazing, She's amazing, amazing. But let's cut to what we've
- 7:38heard since yesterday, and that is that at Bravocon it turned out that Monica
- 7:44was really on an island with the cast, like they were all together and
- 7:48she was separate, right, And I didn't know that now cause I do
- 7:54do that either. We didn't know that. We didn't know that. But
- 7:57now there is a law suit between Heather Gay and Monica, but it's involving
- 8:03Beauty Labin Laser. So I am going to read when I found on,
- 8:07there were a lot of accounts, but you know what, the Underscore Bravo
- 8:13Underscore chicks really did it right. They made it very succinct, and this
- 8:18is what I'm going to go with. Okay. So they say it began
- 8:24in late in August when Heather's company, Beauty Labin Laser, file a lawsuit
- 8:28against Monica for breach of contract and breach of the covenant of good faith and
- 8:33fair dealing, which is something that is only in Salt Lake City because it's
- 8:37a faith based city. The Salt Lake City Medical Spa said in the Docks
- 8:43that Monica signed a contract with them on December tenth, twenty nineteen. This
- 8:50was a long time ago to pay two four hundred and forty nine dollars for
- 8:56cosmetic injection services. According to the court docs exclusively obtained by the US Sun,
- 9:05Monica only paid the initial payment of four hundred and forty nine dollars,
- 9:07which included the forty nine dollars setup fee and four hundred dollars down payment.
- 9:13You still with me, I'm still here, okay. She then was supposed
- 9:18to make two hundred dollars monthly payments for the next ten months, but never
- 9:24did. Heather's name, interestingly enough, was not mentioned in the complaint.
- 9:30However, Beauty Lab argued that they suffered and continues to suffer significant losses and
- 9:35damages as a result of Monica not paying the full amount owed for the services.
- 9:39They requested the court to determine at trial how much not less than two
- 9:43thousand Monica should hand over, plus reasonable attorney fees and other remedies provided by
- 9:50statute or contract. So now, Monica has since filed a lawsuit saying that
- 9:58she didn't pay because the injections were botched and that's why she never paid and
- 10:05is suing them for botched treatment. Well, so that's interesting, because Heather
- 10:11and Monica were clearly filming together with this. Yes, because this was in
- 10:15twenty nineteen. Yeah, the whole thing is interesting because also with filler,
- 10:22first of all, botox wears off, and then with filler you can just
- 10:26do dissolve. It's not a thing. You can have them just do a
- 10:30dissolve. And I read that Heather's company offered to do that, and most
- 10:35places will do that for free, because if you don't like what they've done,
- 10:39they'll dissolve the filler for you for free. Okay, And so she
- 10:46did. They did offer that for her, but and Monica's come back to
- 10:50that was that she had already had things corrected, maybe at a different place,
- 10:56and she didn't want to trust them to do the work. Again,
- 11:00I'm not totally sure, but like, I don't understand how this whole thing
- 11:05spiraled out the way it did because she's count Monica is now counter coundursuing.
- 11:09Yes, it seems like so much work and legal fee for nothing. M
- 11:18h, I mean it's two thousand dollars. You know, there's obviously something
- 11:22fishy here. There's another post by the reality TV guru and this is on
- 11:28Twitter that says that's why Lisa said she changes her name. Okay, because
- 11:35okay, hold on a second, Real Housewives Gifts. Okay, Real Housewives
- 11:39Gifts had put on Twitter. Wait, people on Reddit are now saying that
- 11:45Monica used different names to get multiple procedures and not have to pay for them.
- 11:50And then Real Reality TV g guru said that's why Lisa said she changes
- 11:56her name multiple times, and her mother said it as well, so oh
- 12:01sure, sure, sure, okay. And then also we have to remember
- 12:05that there were murmurings about Monica suing Angie for falling down her steps. Yes,
- 12:13that's right. At the Easter party, Monica allegedly fell down Angie steps
- 12:20with that arrail. Monica posted pictures after that episode aired to say, why
- 12:24didn't they even include this in the I left to go to the hospital,
- 12:30and I took and my kids did do the Easter egg hunt. Yeah,
- 12:35but yeah, I think, Look, I think Monica's got issues. I'm
- 12:41not going to deny it. I think that I would not want to be
- 12:48as much as I love Monica, and at first I was like, that's
- 12:50the one, that's the gal I could hang out with. I think that
- 12:54Monica can't help but sabotage every situation because of her mother. Yeah, alleged
- 13:00right, Yes, I agree. I mean, this is an interesting situation
- 13:05because we have lawsuits that are happening between housewives, which typically is not allowed.
- 13:11However, there may be a clause if it's a business. The other
- 13:16thing is that's probably why there's not named on it too. Absolutely, And
- 13:22this also took place in twenty nineteen, so this is before she was a
- 13:24housewife, so I could see how this is happening legally, and with the
- 13:30countersuit, this is separate. Now with the lawsuit about Angie's stares, that
- 13:37to me seems like that won't stick. It might not even be happening because
- 13:41Monica said, I should sue you for not having a banister and your house
- 13:48not being regulation. Babe, I have a banished her. I just don't
- 13:50think it looks cute, all right, babe, learn how to walk on
- 13:58your heels. By the way, babe, what are you doing upstairs in
- 14:01my house? The Greek Easter celebration is downstairs, all right. Monica's upstairs
- 14:09looking for botox and needles and fillers and stuff, just looking to see what
- 14:15she can find. Yeah, I think it's I also go back to like
- 14:22the gen Shaw stuff, and even that, I mean, in that situation,
- 14:28Monica did do the right thing, but a broken clock is right twice
- 14:31a day, and that like it was still sabotaging gen. It was still
- 14:37sabotaging someone that was close to her that she was working with. And yes,
- 14:41yes, but it was the right move to make. I stand by
- 14:45that. But I'm just saying, like Monica is going to ruin it for
- 14:50you, yeah, and I think she can't help it. It's just like
- 14:54until she breaks that cycle and gets real therapy. By the way, BISH
- 14:58Therapist hasn't excellent episode. Thank you, I'm so glad you mentioned it's my
- 15:03next Yes, go on. She goes into the Monica and her mother relationship
- 15:09dynamic and kind of just talks about narcissistic parents and also goes in on how
- 15:16Monica's mother didn't have a great uh upbringing and mother relationship either. It's horrible
- 15:22and just how that plays out and how you can protect yourself and that and
- 15:28things to look for. But also like you got to break that cycle.
- 15:31So I mean, yeah, it's it's very good the therapist, So you
- 15:37want to go to your BISH therapist And that is available anywhere you get podcasts,
- 15:43and that's Melissa Reich's podcast. That is under my network, So please
- 15:48listen. And she's got amazing episodes out there about all kinds of different Bravo
- 15:52relationships and really goes deep one of the things that you know, I typically
- 15:56don't. I obviously can't go to the lengths that therapists can go. I
- 16:00don't have the tools for that. And obviously this is more of a comedic
- 16:04angle my podcast. However, it never gets by me the weight when you
- 16:11see such dysfunctional relationships and how intense it is, and also how triggering it
- 16:18can be for so many people, whether it be substance abuse, dysfunctional relationships,
- 16:26any kind of addiction. And my heart really goes out to a lot
- 16:30of people who forge through these shows with these things happening. And so I
- 16:36think it's such an interesting perspective to break down the psychological aspects of this and
- 16:44how it can be triggering to you. Because these shows can be entertainment,
- 16:49but I like the idea that can catapult us into a deeper conversation about ourselves
- 16:56and how we can change and how what not to do and an our history
- 17:02and you know things like that. So I I do love these shows for
- 17:04that reason. I don't I'm worried about Monica coming back next season for sure
- 17:10after all of this, and I don't want her to not come back next
- 17:15season. So Monnica is gonna be fine, and she's going to come back
- 17:18and she's going to be on this show for a long time. I'm worried
- 17:21because of the lawsuits though, Emily, well, if she I think that
- 17:26she I think that she sees the show as more valuable. I think she'll
- 17:30clear up those. Yeah, she's not going to sit in these lawsuits.
- 17:34She's gonna assist and dissest. You don't think she's gonna sit in the lawsuits.
- 17:41Okay, well, but I mean even just threats here and there just
- 17:44make me worried that she will. They'll find her to be too much of
- 17:48a you know, I don't know wild card, that they won't trust it,
- 17:52and that that's concerning to me. We'll see. Time will tell that
- 17:57reunion. I am especially post Bravo Kan, I'm I'm the season and then
- 18:03the reunion. I'm very excited. I know. I saw somebody on Instagram,
- 18:08darn and I wish I could have Uh oh it was Christian Grace now
- 18:12and he did a mock up of what the seating chart will be for Real
- 18:17Housewives of Salt Lake City reunion. And he put Monica on one side all
- 18:19by herself, and I gotta tell you she'll be able to handle it.
- 18:23You know, she will all one hundred percent be able to handle it.
- 18:26And really, if you get her mom out there, her mom will take
- 18:30her side and they can both go at it with the other cat. I
- 18:33don't think, Oh, absolutely not. Her mom would be on the other
- 18:36side of the count. She was even more interesting apologizing for her. Yeah.
- 18:41Absolutely, She's not going to sit on any couch. She's going to
- 18:45sit on Andy's lap, Monica's mom, and she's going to find the most
- 18:48powerful first. Sorry, I'm so sorry. Yes, she will want to
- 18:56charm the most alpha person in the room so she can have that controversial This
- 19:02is a little controversial for me to say this because obviously, you don't want
- 19:07to be taken You don't want your company to be taken advantage of. You
- 19:10don't want people to not pay what they're what they owe you. However,
- 19:14it's two thousand dollars, Monica is now going to be a real housewife.
- 19:17Just wave the fee, you know at Beauty labin Lay's er just wave it.
- 19:22Well, that's what I don't understand. But I guess like for it
- 19:27to come out now, you know, like that's very well timed since it's
- 19:33been going on since twenty nineteen. Yeah, you'd think that would have been
- 19:37for me pre right, like at least in the launch of the season,
- 19:41the launch of this new housewife, you think. But like right now post
- 19:45so Emily, Heather and Monica are the ones that have like the real bond,
- 19:49like right, you know, this is what's so strange to me that
- 19:52this was under the surface the whole time, right, It's it's interesting,
- 19:59for sure. I'm totally was Monica going to beauty labin laser before Heather even
- 20:07knew who she was? Well twenty nineteen, when did Jenshaw get arrested?
- 20:12Twenty wait, twenty twenty one, Yeah, it was two years ago.
- 20:18Yeah, so I mean, yeah, maybe even before, so she had
- 20:22been going before they even knew who she was. Yeah, yeah, and
- 20:26that's you know, she's trying to get seen. She's going over to beauty
- 20:30lab and laser, you know what I mean. But look, she's got
- 20:32to do what she's got to do. I'm not mad at it, Emily,
- 20:36No, I don't. I'm not mad that she went to Beauty Labin
- 20:38Laser. I mean, I don't know if I'd go. But I'm just
- 20:44saying, of all the places in Salt Lake City, she's going to the
- 20:47housewife owned one. I'm just saying it shows thirst. That's all I'm saying.
- 20:52But how many Yeah, okay, but maybe they offer a good deal.
- 20:55Maybe she got like a great deal and not good enough well good enough
- 21:00time. I mean, who is paying a monthly amount for their fillers?
- 21:04Like that's yeah, that's too much. That's crazy to me, Philler,
- 21:10unless you put dissolve in it doesn't like it's my understanding that Philler just sits
- 21:15there, so like that would make me a little nervous. Yeah, all
- 21:22right, Well anyway, that's the the hot news that came out. The
- 21:29other thing that I heard about from Bravo Khan is Andrea from Winterhouse Wait Summer
- 21:34House either or is engaged to Lexi blah blah blah. Also, Shep and
- 21:41Brinn from New York hung out but nothing happened, and then Gigi Goldnessa from
- 21:48Shaws of Sunset said that she and Shep like kind of got to know each
- 21:52other and I'm not sure how far far that went because she sat on a
- 21:56panel. She wouldn't say she like, wasn't gonna kiss and tell, but
- 22:00something happened there or at least they've been in touch. And then also Frank
- 22:03Catana is engaged. That happened I think pre Bravo con But that really got
- 22:08buried well, I mean, because who cares? I agree? I agree,
- 22:17I agree? But but you speaking of Slade because you said ship,
- 22:23So I did you see there was a quick thing during the Bravo Awards where
- 22:30and Darling's correct me if I'm wrong, but it was Alexia. It was
- 22:37like a bunch of us see wives on stage, including Jen new Gen,
- 22:44and Alexia made a joke offhand, not scripted because Andy comes on and says
- 22:49that was not scripted to say, I'm the only one on stage that hasn't
- 22:56slept with Slade, including new Gen. Wow, Wow? Interesting was that?
- 23:03Did anybody else see that? I did see a clip of that,
- 23:06and I didn't clock who was on stage, but I think that she Alexei
- 23:11from Miami is what you're saying, right? Oh no, no, no,
- 23:12no, you mean Alexis I'm drunk. Okay, I think that Alexis
- 23:23probably had that joke in her pocket and was ready to throw it out.
- 23:27Who was on stage, like Erica Jane could have been up there and she
- 23:30would have said it. So okay, I mean, yeah, I'm not
- 23:34gonna throw Jen into that pile. She was she was up in Missouri or
- 23:37wherever the hell she's from, right right, Slade works in mysterious ways,
- 23:42like I know you're right, You're right, that's true. All right,
- 23:48So why don't we move on to our recap of the Real Housewives of Beverly
- 23:53Hills. Oh but duh, what a great episode. What a fun episode?
- 24:00Like just I'm gonna say what a great uh trailer for the episode because
- 24:07the episode didn't I was like really ready for it. We got it to
- 24:11be continued, and I was like, oh shit, the episode before and
- 24:15we got a flash forward and I was like, oh my god, it's
- 24:19already going down. Yeah, and it was a dood episode. Fine,
- 24:25it wasn't what we thought what we thought it was gonna be, but I
- 24:27just I was just happy just to enjoy it, like I liked it for
- 24:33what it was, you know, especially because we were all just in Vegas.
- 24:37Yeah, and if you weren't just in Vegas. You were watching Vegas
- 24:40a lot because of Bravo con and clips and everything, so it felt like
- 24:45very well timed. The timing of it was impeccable, and I loved I
- 24:49just the cast is great. I'm really loving this Erica Jane this season.
- 24:55I just think it's funny and she's just doing her own things. She's given
- 24:59up for lent and she's sticking to it, and I, I don't know.
- 25:04I just found it to be a nice episode, and there's so much
- 25:10more under the surface that obviously things are gonna heat up. But I did
- 25:14like it. So we pick up in Vegas for Crystal's fortieth birthday. They're
- 25:19having breakfast and they're talking about dating and Garcel's like, I want to go
- 25:23out and meet men. I want to go out and meet men. Then
- 25:26they have like a dating intervention at the table and then everyone kind of looks
- 25:30over at Sutton because they're talking about how they don't get second dates. Also,
- 25:34that was so abrupt when Garcel came in like ready to fuck. Oh,
- 25:41I was, honey, what is happening right now? Gel? Also,
- 25:45your son is in the in the city, so don't go over there,
- 25:52but yeah, I know, I know't boy, but I was like
- 25:56getting glam on glam on glam at Brady's Fuck and then at breakfast and then
- 26:03she's like, all right, let's all go get ready, and I'm like,
- 26:06how much more ready? I know? Right? Also she threw Erica
- 26:10off. Erica's like, oh, I mean, okay, give me a
- 26:12second. Let me give us some orange juice, you know, I mean,
- 26:15even Erica wasn't even ready to about like Garzala was like, keep up,
- 26:21keep up, ladies. I've all, I've already like switched gears.
- 26:25I'm in full drive mode. Oh my god. Sutton and her awkwardness,
- 26:30she's like on in here back. You know, she's the Christopher Walken of
- 26:37like Beverly Hills, the way that your pauses are awkward pauses. You never
- 26:41know when the pause is gonna come. Yeah, I didn't hear back from
- 26:48a man after I sent him a bubble bath pick, I mean, and
- 26:52then they think, of course, Kyle steels her phone. We hear that
- 26:56she says, like, your triceps look good, and they're making fun of
- 27:00and it's all good fun. And of course Kyle's get a FaceTime and oh
- 27:03my gosh, it's just crazy antics and it's but she did FaceTime them and
- 27:07then hung up. But I was like no, no, no, no,
- 27:11no no. I know I felt so uncomfortable for some But I do
- 27:17love when Kyle like gets that like sister vibe, like little sister, big
- 27:22sister vibe going, it's so funny. I love that because you know,
- 27:26this is the type of thing where like Kyle always comes through with the gal
- 27:30you just want to hang out with, Like you just want to hang out
- 27:32with Kyle. Yeah, and look I'll hang out with I'll hang out with
- 27:34Morgan too, you know. Yeah, there's definitely more behind going on in
- 27:40her and Kyle's head this season in terms of like there, and it might
- 27:45just be that they edited this way, but you see a lot more of
- 27:48Kyle reflecting and quietly sitting there instead of engaging. But like when she engages
- 27:56like that, like just fun dumb pranks. I could I could do more
- 28:00that, me too, Always always more of that. Kyle's just a good
- 28:03time gal. You know. Now Sutton goes in to get ready and she
- 28:10verbally abuses Avi, which was very uncomfortable. But that was a bit I
- 28:15mean, that was like, yes, I didn't believe that was real for
- 28:21a second. I mean, I think Abby, I think she's bringing Avi
- 28:25in to have like this. Now. I don't love that kind of I
- 28:29don't like when you put someone down and make it super low status all the
- 28:34time when they are in a lower position. But I think that's the kind
- 28:38of bits that Sutton does. And I think Av's there for it because he
- 28:44gets more attention in terms of likes it Aaronda, No, I think he
- 28:48likes it one bit. And I thought it was real. I don't know
- 28:52if it wasn't real. It's based on real, you know what I mean,
- 28:56Like she seemed I understand you're saying about the bits though, like that's
- 29:02for sure something there that they are going to keep doing. And but she
- 29:07really didn't know that scar skirt was there and she was pissed. They were
- 29:11pants. How we the pants? They were the pants, That's right,
- 29:15the pants. Those were the pants. Of course they need to be a
- 29:21Bravo context. I agree. The pants need to totally and they need to
- 29:25be on a mannequin where they're split open, like as if she did make
- 29:30it up on stage, you know, yeah, yeah, a black chair
- 29:36split open. Oh my god, okay, well, oh man, all
- 29:45right. And I got nervous too when Garcel was steaming what I thought was
- 29:48a large, hot pink tunic with jewels and she was gonna. I was
- 29:53like, what are you wearing, Garcel? But then when I found out
- 29:57it was like this awesome. I'm just the dress. Then I was like,
- 30:02oh my god, I love it so much. I thought she was
- 30:03getting Yeah, I didn't know what. I was like, please don't wear
- 30:07that. Like I was like, this is going to make her look thirty
- 30:11years older than she is. But then when I realized that it wasn't a
- 30:17pantsuit, you know, off the rack, like a Caico's number. Yeah,
- 30:22you were worried about the length, I was worried. Yeah. I
- 30:25just looked like way too old for her. And then when I found out
- 30:29it was a dress, it was perfect. I loved that dress. Apparently
- 30:33it's a Valentino. Me too, Oh my god. Yeah, oh I
- 30:40just want to bask in it for a second. And the shoes, so
- 30:42apparently it was Valentino, because that's what I think, Kyle said, Valentino
- 30:48paning draft like long I am, and everyone's coming out one by one,
- 30:56just looking so great. Sudden but Sutton's like, I hate pants. I
- 31:07hate them. But then she was told to wear them. But like Kyle
- 31:12didn't wear pants, no one else was worth I mean Kyle did and wear
- 31:15pants, and Garcelden wear pants. Everyone else was wearing pants, right,
- 31:22I was more confused about the top with the pants on Sudden. Okay,
- 31:30again, it just made her I just didn't. The whole thing made her
- 31:33look much older than she was. It just gave up weird. That's who
- 31:40I am. That is who ah am. I'm on the board the American
- 31:49Ballet Foundation. That is the gear of Sudden. When she starts drinking like
- 31:57that, that she becomes Dorrit's accent personified. Yeah, I don't know what
- 32:06the hell's going on. I don't know where you're coming from or where you're
- 32:10going. Yeah, unpredictable. I mean Dorit said it. I mean it's
- 32:15Doctor Jekyll and Miss Streck. She's right, this was buzonkers and like to
- 32:23start the night with, like I got ones, I got a stack of
- 32:29ones, and I'm wearing pants. You think that she was read? I
- 32:32don't know, Like I thought she was going to hook up with anything and
- 32:37everything this side of it multiple times Oh my god. By the way,
- 32:42the throwaway line from Erica, this is why I like Erica right now.
- 32:45She's like, Nolan, will let me touch money because the text authorlready will
- 32:49say, I'll wait to them, so I'm not going to touch those ones.
- 32:51Like that was amazing. I need more of that. But Magic Mike,
- 32:59obviously we know that. We find out that Mikey Mindon's partner Davis is
- 33:02in Magic Mike, which I love. Mikey Mindon obsessed, always have been.
- 33:07That's Erica's creative director of Yeah, choreo does the Choreoh yeah, looks
- 33:14you name it. And so we get there and it just looked didn't you
- 33:17just want to be there in those awesome like those seats. I've yeah,
- 33:22and I've been to Magic Mike. Oh y yeah. I went a few
- 33:25years ago, and uh that what Erica was doing on stage. I was
- 33:31like, oh my god. I wasn't sudden about it, but I'm like,
- 33:37that made that happen when I went, I'm an Audi Yeman, Emily,
- 33:43I'm a shellman. So I think maybe they had rehearsed that a little.
- 33:49Is my hunch that was pre planned choreo And also like I'm real like
- 33:55it. It's just like stunned. I'm I mean, okay, this was
- 34:01it was amazing. Crystal Erica go up there, and Sutton's like, I
- 34:06wore my pants for fucking nothing. And then the women think, I love
- 34:15the fact that you know, she got so uncomfortable and so mad, and
- 34:19the women were like, oh, I feel bad for Ston. She really
- 34:22wanted to go up there. She wore pants. Oh no, Sutton's pants,
- 34:27Like it was all about feeling bad for her, which I thought was
- 34:30so funny because they because she was like that she would get that visibly upset
- 34:35that she wasn't picked, which would have been a more hilarious storyline actually,
- 34:40that she would have been mad that she wore pants and didn't get chosen.
- 34:44That would have been maybe the narrative I thought would have been better. But
- 34:47I did like how this went because it's just so sudden. I mean,
- 34:51to me, that is the narrative. I mean that you think that is
- 34:54what happened. Oh interesting, Yeah, I think Sudden started saying everything out
- 35:00loud, started sobering up and realizing, like she just it was I mean,
- 35:06it was so clear to me that she didn't get picked, and but
- 35:09she couldn't embrace that, and so instead of acknowledging that rejection, she went
- 35:15on some like conservative, like weird thing I didn't understand, Like maybe she
- 35:23was a little bit like shocked, as I like, like whoa Erica?
- 35:30But I think it was really about the rejection, but she could put her
- 35:34hat on the on the Erica stuff. Interesting. I mean, the contradiction
- 35:40all night long was like I got whiplash from some absolute whiplash. And I
- 35:50also didn't have a problem with it because it was so entertaining, Like I
- 35:53just you can't wrap your head around it now. First of all, with
- 35:58I understand perhaps she was just thinking like maybe a mail review from the nineteen
- 36:07fifties, I guess where you just hand out ones, perhaps in their hands,
- 36:13I don't know, like Chippendale's. And I think she was thinking,
- 36:15like I think she was, she would be in the show. I think
- 36:21she wanted the attention. I think she wanted to be able to be like
- 36:25I had this crazy night and yeah, and also like the fact that,
- 36:32like I think she had felt that she had an exclusive right to that because
- 36:37it was pre planned, but the pre plan didn't include her actually, but
- 36:42she probably would have gone up there because they did a second round. Kyle
- 36:46went up, Yes, but she had left, Yeah, but she would
- 36:50have made it in the show for sure, Yes, for sure. I
- 36:53mean it's just like Erica and Crystal went up because it was her birthday and
- 36:58Erica wanted to, you know, she had to give the show. And
- 37:01now like the head down in between their legs, the other dancer did that
- 37:07to Crystal, right, yeah, he yeah, that's the chair thing,
- 37:10but it was but the Erica thing where she's on the ground, that was
- 37:15that was different. That's I don't I don't remember. I think that there's
- 37:22had like to her thigh, like yes, you know, it was all
- 37:25you know, stunt work if you would, right, I mean right right,
- 37:31But that would happen at any like Chippendale's thing like that kind of dancing
- 37:37and stuff that's kind of typical of those shows, I think, I mean
- 37:40I think so, I don't, but what Erica was doing wasn't typical,
- 37:45and that was why I was like WHOA. But I clearly like I also
- 37:51wonder I had the thought, did Sutton think that she just was going to
- 37:57look like she was going to have to do what Erica? And then she
- 38:00was gonna look like an idiot because she's not Erica. Listen, she used
- 38:06to do ballet, and she could. Her splits would have been the show
- 38:09stopper of the night. I'm sure maybe, but I don't know. Does
- 38:13she still have that in her absolutely? Oh you've seen her do the splitz.
- 38:20Yeah. I was over at Sutton Concepts and Kyle and Sutton were having
- 38:23a splitz contest. Okay, so Kyle gets on stage and does the whip
- 38:31cream thing, and so then I love that. So obviously Sutton leaves and
- 38:38she's just irate. She's I'm on the board of the American Ballet Foundation.
- 38:42I don't do that shit. So then Garcel follows after her, which is
- 38:45a good friend. Then Kyle comes out and she's like, I just had
- 38:51whip cream lick off for me, And then Sutton's like, see that's fun,
- 38:54and I'm going I can't with you. I can't. And this is
- 38:58amazing. I love that she is com lately just judging one move to another
- 39:04and what's acceptable and what's not. Honey, it's either one way or the
- 39:07other. I mean, that really is what it is. And a short
- 39:10of stripping, like I would say, crossing the line into what would be
- 39:14unacceptable in terms of like you being on the board of the American Ballet Foundation,
- 39:17would be if those men were swinging their swinging their things around, you
- 39:22know, in front of your face, to do with that. It had
- 39:27nothing to do with that. I'd think she's jealous. Yes, I don't
- 39:31know, she was just jealous and then immediately going to like this gear of
- 39:37I'm I'm above this. It was a protective thing. I okay, I
- 39:42read it. Yeah, yeah, I'm above it. And I can't with
- 39:45this. There's two ways we have a cream leaked off of you. Is
- 39:49silly and stupid spreading your legs? No, no, that's where I crossed
- 39:52the wine. And then and then Kyle said, what you're saying? And
- 39:57then she's like, it has nothing to do with the pants. I'm like,
- 40:00how is it that in just a few years of Sutton being on the
- 40:05show, she has two lines that have the word pants in it, you
- 40:09know, the ugly leather pants line, what am I jealous of your ugly
- 40:14leather pants? And then now it's like, it has nothing to do with
- 40:16the pants. It's amazing to me that her narrative on this show, her
- 40:21legacy will have a lot to do with pants. Yeah, it is wild.
- 40:24She wears the pants on the show once. But there's two ways to
- 40:30I can see it. It's either total rejection sadness, and or realizing that
- 40:37she was going to have to step up to the plate and she would have
- 40:42to outdo Erica and couldn't And so either way she was sad. But I
- 40:50don't think that for a minute it was about the Ballet Foundation, you said,
- 40:54your brand. I do think it was funny that Kyle's like, you
- 41:01could have just walked away instead of making like a big scene, and she's
- 41:05like, I did, then don't follow me. I mean it was it's
- 41:07like, well, you cameras are following you. You did by default it's
- 41:12a scene. You know. Of course people were gonna be concerned because you
- 41:15left. And Kyle's point was like, well, I could have just walked
- 41:17right by you, and then I would have been in trouble, Like what
- 41:20am I supposed to do? Yeah, because Kyle came out way after that,
- 41:24because Kyle was on stage, she said like, I just randomly saw
- 41:28you all here when I went to the bathroom. Yeah, that was funny.
- 41:32And Sonon's like, I didn't like what happened, and Kyle's like,
- 41:35well, you're not gonna like what just happened to me out there, And
- 41:39then much to our you know, uh surprise, sudden, I had no
- 41:44problem with whipped cream being looked off of her. Well, Crystal leaves because
- 41:49she gets the text from Kyle's like, son's upset, we have to leave,
- 41:52which I thought, you don't need to leave. Let him finish the
- 41:55show. But then Crystal leaves, and I thought that was gonna be a
- 41:59big thing, like my fortieth birthday, you ruin this, we had to
- 42:01leave and all this stuff. But I did like that Erica and Dury just
- 42:06stayed and they were like, we're having the best time of our lives.
- 42:09And then it is rude. It was. It must have looked so insane
- 42:15for the people on stage because that when you can see people walking out,
- 42:20it is not a good feeling. And sometimes with the lights on you you
- 42:23just see bodies and you can't clock how many bodies, and then you just
- 42:28know the sections VIP and then it's like it gets in your head. It
- 42:32does. I hate it. I hate it absolutely, And people have sometimes
- 42:36good reason to leave. They feel sick, you know, I mean there's
- 42:39reasons why people do exit, but it doesn't mean it doesn't affect the performers.
- 42:45And this was art. Let's be real. It is it's it is
- 42:49high end like bodywork. It is. I mean, did you see how
- 42:53fast that pelvis was going? Yeah, I thought it was a hummingbird in
- 42:57his pants. I mean I couldn't believe it. Just I mean, you
- 43:01just can't count the number of pelvic thrusts that a magic mic dancer does,
- 43:06much like a hummingbird. It's like a hundred beats per second. So like
- 43:12being there at the show too. When I was there, I never for
- 43:15a second thought like this guy he is into me or anything. But the
- 43:23vibe of like the women like when you go to these things, so like
- 43:29they are coming home with me, Daddy is here for me? Like I'm
- 43:32like, he's not. He's he's working. He's work and like he's Mikey's
- 43:40partner, Like what are you doing? But he's not into you, right,
- 43:45He's just not at all into you. Would ever be in to you
- 43:52at work outside of work, it's not gonna work. Well, Sutton gets
- 44:00mad at Kyle because she's like here we go again, Kyle. Where she's
- 44:04walked into conversation where she didn't need to, and then Kyle in those doors,
- 44:08like in between the doors, she was like, now you're being a
- 44:12bitch, which was really funny because I like, I like when Kyle gets
- 44:15a little unhinged. So then Sutton backs down and immediately apologizes to Kyle in
- 44:20the sprinter van and we get into a sprinter van, which is great,
- 44:23and now it's gonna be you know, now it's time to pay the piper
- 44:28and Erica is coming in and before she gets into the sprinter van, she's
- 44:32kind of walking it out. She's just kind of working it out. She's
- 44:35walking, she's pacing, she's getting her steps in, she's cool doing a
- 44:37cool down. She's like she's sitting in there like Judge Judy, who doesn't
- 44:46love a judge of Judy reference. That was great. It was great.
- 44:51And also that is Sutton loved Erica's outfit. That was awesome. Yeah,
- 44:58yeah, yeah, yeah, it was great for that night. But I
- 45:00I still think I like Garcel's the best, although I was totally yeah walking
- 45:05in those heels, because I think the Garcel's shoes were uncomfortable. I mean
- 45:07they were Everybody had very high heels on, but Garcel was talking about how
- 45:13uncomfortable they were, so like she was just like, where is this?
- 45:16How far is this? Like you can just tell this is This is the
- 45:21thing about Las Vegas and shoes. You you leave your room, you go
- 45:27down to the lobby, and you get into your car, your feet are
- 45:30already done for the night because it's such a long way. And the second
- 45:36they left that room, I thought, I don't know how they're going to
- 45:38do it, but they're on a TV show, so they're just going to
- 45:40have to push through. But like in my head thinking about logistics, and
- 45:45when Garcel had that issue, I thought, you needed to have another pair
- 45:49of shoes in the sprinter van at the ready to walk back into the hotel
- 45:53and cause you don't want to like take your shoes off and walk barefoot.
- 45:57You just can't do that, I mean, because too many people in Vegas
- 46:00do it. And needless to say, I saw tons of people, you
- 46:05know, we saw him limping around. I was doing my Cabaremi. I
- 46:08looked down someone in the front row who's sitting at a table had her shoe
- 46:13off and she was working out her blister. This was during the film show
- 46:19and I, and so it is caught on film where I was like,
- 46:22are you all right? Do you have a blister? Darling? It was
- 46:25really funny, but it's so true, It's so real, and that's why
- 46:30you just I give it to these women for like turning it out. But
- 46:35Garcel's shoes for the wind looked the most painful for sure. Yeah. But
- 46:42yeah, So she gets in the sprinter van and they obviously talk all about
- 46:46what happened, and and something's just like it was a spread eagle in the
- 46:51face and the crotch thing that was just too much, can we I mean,
- 46:55it's the drinking word on Watch what Happens Live, gonna be crotch or
- 47:00pants? Yea, oh my god. Erica just lets it water off a
- 47:07duck's back, just you know, She's like, I'm not gonna let this
- 47:08bother me. He had a great time, and everyone's disappointed that Erica's not
- 47:12gonna, you know, go off right and I but I was also not
- 47:16surprised that she didn't go off about this because it wasn't there wasn't a not
- 47:24enough personal jab at Erica on it, like she said what she was going
- 47:30to say. And then Sutton wasn't really saying anything else. And I don't
- 47:36know, I wasn't surprised. I was surprised that more, I guess I
- 47:40was surprised that others thought she would go off when I didn't expect her to.
- 47:45Yeah. Yeah, they thought that Erica was just gonna, you know,
- 47:49just rip into her, and she didn't. And Crystal wasn't trying to
- 47:52be shady, but she was like, how do you feel about the fact
- 47:55that we don't feel upset? You know, like, and Erica's are laughing
- 48:00because I mean, it's such a good point. Like they all made the
- 48:02point, like we're all consenting adults, you know, this is what it
- 48:07is. It was a performance that was all rehearsed. Herself in a real
- 48:14tizzy. Garcela and her confessional saying something about like did she even have sex?
- 48:20Like did she have a stork? Very funny, very funny. And
- 48:27then the rest of the episode, Sutton's just like every chance she gets talking
- 48:31about like sex, sex, sex toy more than she ever has book on
- 48:37tantric sex. At the end of the night, well let's why did they
- 48:42have to drag out that dumb deca card questions? Oh, here we go
- 48:46I hate that. We hate these We hate these stop it, Bravo,
- 48:51stop it, Bravo evolution. We hate these stupid games. To me,
- 48:55what it is is, there's not They are nervous about content. They think
- 49:00they don't have enough content. Once you put the whole episode together and you
- 49:07see that you have it. We don't need to see deck of Cards come
- 49:12out and questions the sex questions. Oh no, we sure don't. We
- 49:16sure didn't move anything further. It just feels hack. I don't care.
- 49:22Yeah, And to have a series that has been going on this long,
- 49:27yeah, you have to fall back on that. It's just not necessary.
- 49:30I vaguely forgave it for New York recently because is there a new cast?
- 49:36Yeah, because maybe that we needed to get them to like loosen. I
- 49:38don't know what they're doing. Yeah, yes, I do. Sexless.
- 49:50I did think it was very funny watching Ston eat that fishball and that Eric
- 49:54is like, h no second date, No wonder she had some good one.
- 50:00This episode was very funny about that Sutton does apologize to Erica and Garcel
- 50:06talks about Oliver because she's going to go see him the next day, but
- 50:10she doesn't feel comfortable talking about her boys after what happened last year obviously,
- 50:16which we get to the next morning. And how about the shade that Crystal
- 50:22threw to Durrite in her confessional about how they were talking about her. She
- 50:28was talking about her perfect nipple, and then Crystal says, Durrett, how
- 50:30would you know what a perfect nipple looks like? You'ven't seen a real body
- 50:35part in ten years? Yeah? Wow, yeah wow. Well, I
- 50:42mean it was a weird reaction, but I also that's the point of the
- 50:45dumb deca card games, is that, like you're giving a weird reaction and
- 50:53it's good to start controversy. So I guess it worked. I can't believe
- 50:58you said that, Crystal. I mean, I have lots of real botty
- 51:01parts. My pinky toe is as real as it gets. Do anything to
- 51:07it? Oh boy? Yeah, I just couldn't believe Sutton talking about all
- 51:15our sex toys. And then Sutton's book on tantric sex. I just where
- 51:20are we going, babe? Pick aside? Pick aside? You know,
- 51:22yeah, it's just you know, now she's got to double down, and
- 51:27just I hope she leaves it in Vegas. I hope she does too.
- 51:30Well, the morning happens and Kyle is up at six am and she's at
- 51:35the gym. Now she's not drinking, which is a huge part of this.
- 51:37I mean, I find it very inspirational. I wish I had the
- 51:42drive to do that right now. I don't, but I like seeing her
- 51:45live her best life like this. I mean, I thought it was weird
- 51:49that like it seemed. Erica and Dorrit had a lot to say about it,
- 51:52where Erica said she's living in extremes right now and Dorry it's like,
- 51:57it's not sustainable. I'm like, let her have a phase of her life
- 52:00where she's getting in great shape. How is so? What if it's not
- 52:04sustainable? Also, all the things that everybody does, what do you what
- 52:10are you talking about? Going to have allegedly a lot of work done is
- 52:15not sustainable. Hormone your menopause, hormones is not Like I don't know.
- 52:25It was definitely a weird one. And then to have those two of all
- 52:30people talking about it sidebarring about Kyle, was yeah, a little weird.
- 52:37Their back a million times. It's gonna be interesting. A lot of shady
- 52:43comments in this episode and the confessionals, and part of me thinks like they
- 52:47had to pop these in, you know, after they were done piecing everything
- 52:52together, because it was such a you know, it was a slow move.
- 52:55What wasn't slow moving moving? It just not a lot happened in this
- 52:59episode. So I think they had to pop up their confessional comments. I'm
- 53:02now realizing too that I thought about. I don't think that that day they
- 53:08were miked. They are not miked in that room, and they weren't miked
- 53:13in the large room, and I wonder if we lost some content because of
- 53:15that, and that's why we had to put in the decord cards. Still
- 53:19don't think we needed it. But did you notice that in the large room
- 53:23and when they were eating this, when they're eating sushi? No, no,
- 53:27no, I'm talking in the morning next morning. Yeah, no,
- 53:30I did notice. I loved that. I dove I did too. Felt
- 53:32so much more real. It felt like, grab the cameras, let's cover
- 53:37this. Yeah yeah, because they're all Maybe so they weren't yeah yeah,
- 53:44so maybe they just boom micd it or something and maybe some things were lost.
- 53:51I don't know, but you would think that they would have refilmed it,
- 53:53but I don't know. Well, this is when Garcel really says,
- 53:58look, I felt like I was not, you know, real with you
- 54:02guys last night, because the bottom line is I don't trust you guys when
- 54:06it comes to my family. Because of the laughing about Jacks and Deiy,
- 54:09it really becomes about Durate and Garcel because Durit's like that was a year ago.
- 54:15You have to get over it and you have to move forward. And
- 54:19Garcel just picks takes her pillow and is like, why can't you understand how
- 54:22I feel? And she runs into her room. Well that it was a
- 54:28little bit more back and forth. Sure, Sure, and Duri made it
- 54:31about her. She did, and I hate that Garcel really did call her
- 54:38out on that. She's like, so now you're I have to apologize to
- 54:42you for making you feel bad because of how I feel. You know,
- 54:46that is a very very good point. I'm glad that Garcel was on it
- 54:52to be able to identify what was happening, because I do feel like Durit
- 54:55has done that in the past. That's Durret's move, so I and the
- 55:02fact that like Dury can't even be aware of that, she has to make
- 55:07it about her. It's so especially when it's about girl Cell's kids, and
- 55:15like it was so clear Dury stepped in it. It's like Derry just owned
- 55:21this. Yeah, we've got too many receipts on this, and you have
- 55:27to own something, own this. And really, if it's just a rehashing
- 55:31of what you already apologize for, just give it the moment in the space
- 55:36to rehash it and apologize again. That's it. Yeah, it's not that
- 55:38deep because, like I mean, it is deep because it's deep for Garcela
- 55:42and it hurt her. It's her kids, for God's sakes. Yeah,
- 55:45it should not be this complicated for Derry to understand. I don't know why.
- 55:49I don't know. I mean, it's it's like moving forward past a
- 55:52storyline that we already had last season. I think that's what she must be
- 55:55thinking, Like we already covered that last season, but there's always going to
- 56:00be you know, crossover trickled down into the next season. And it's okay
- 56:05to reapologize for something to comfort your friend when it comes to their family.
- 56:10And the reason why it comes up is because Oliver works there and she's going
- 56:14to see him and he's we find out his divorce is almost finished, you
- 56:19know, And I mean something could come up from that. She probably feels
- 56:22protective and maybe anticipating that there's going to be some chatter about Oliver and his
- 56:28marriage and did he cheat and all this stuff because we know what happened with
- 56:31I guess what your apology wasn't sustainable. So yeah, that's keep doing it.
- 56:40So we will move on to more Vegas next week, so that'll be
- 56:45fun and anything else you want to say about this f MS. No,
- 56:51I'm very excited for the season to continue. And I gotta say right now,
- 56:57I haven't started Miami yet, but I will probably today, But right
- 57:02now, my heart's in Utah. I thought I thought it would be in
- 57:07Beverly Hills, but I'm like more curious about Utah right now. Yes,
- 57:14we will be covering Miami. I just haven't put it on the schedule yet.
- 57:16But don't worry, we're going to get there too. There's a lot
- 57:19to cover, so many things. Yeah, Potomac married to med I mean,
- 57:23yeah, Winterhouse like it's a fundane of gifts. Yes, absolutely,
- 57:30And then check out my Patreon so you can subscribe and get all the podcasts
- 57:32recaps there that you don't get on the public feed. And right now,
- 57:37we're going to get into the Timmy Horder interview and Emily, well, see
- 57:42you. I'll see you on Monday. Yes, okay, darlings, see
- 57:46you later, Drama Darling. Hello everybody, and welcome to After the Drama.
- 57:58Today, I have an InCred guest with me, Tommy Herder. He
- 58:01is an interior designer and also a Bravo fan. Welcome Tommy, thank you,
- 58:08thank you so much for having me. I'm so happy to be here.
- 58:12I'm so excited. I've stalked you on TikTok, I've stalked you on
- 58:15Instagram, and you were kind enough to come on the show so we can
- 58:20talk about all things design, specifically in the world of the Housewives. Now,
- 58:27I know that's not all you do. You don't just sit around your
- 58:29apartment and do reviews of the Housewives apartments. You. I mean some days,
- 58:35somedays that's what it feels like to cut you off. And somedays like
- 58:39those days are Fridays. Yeah, Mondays and Fridays a great way to start
- 58:45the week and a great way to end the week. But we're also talking
- 58:47to somebody who knows what they're talking about. So most of us trolls that
- 58:53are you know, watching these shows and are on social media. We can
- 58:57give our two cents on everyone's homes and the decor and things like that,
- 59:00just on a personal level and our taste and what we like and what we
- 59:04don't like. But what I find fascinating about your account is that you're coming
- 59:07from a real foundational standpoint of design, what makes sense legitimately, what doesn't
- 59:13make sense, what works? And also you're coming you've got that angle of
- 59:19being a Bravo fan, so you know who you're dealing with, so you
- 59:22also take that into consideration, which I love so and you don't just sit
- 59:28here and rip to shreds everyone's place. You give props where props are due
- 59:32based on design, and you also you know, have some questions for other
- 59:37design questions as well. So just to start it off, you can follow
- 59:42Tommy Herder on TikTok He's at Tommy Herder and that's t O M M Y
- 59:47h u E R t e R. And then on Instagram you can follow
- 59:52them at Tommy Underscore Herder h U E R T e R. So you're
- 59:58going to get a lot of great content and I love that you also take
- 1:00:01requests because like you know I'm scrolling through your TikTok. You have like color
- 1:00:06theory and tierior design tips you've got? I remember you know you work with
- 1:00:09space a lot. How do you how do you make a small space look
- 1:00:14bigger? How do you utilize all kinds of aspects of a tiny space and
- 1:00:19make it feel good? So you really you run the gamut. So Tommy,
- 1:00:23first off, how long have you been doing what you do? Where
- 1:00:27do you live? And are you for hire for everyone's design needs? I
- 1:00:32am so. I live in New York City and I have been at this.
- 1:00:36So I got my master's in interior design from Parsons in I finished that
- 1:00:42in twenty twenty one. Oh my god. It was Tim gunn Ever an
- 1:00:45instructor. No, but I will tell you it did feel there were so
- 1:00:52many design school especially because I was at Parsons. It felt like a competition
- 1:00:57show. And I was like, it was like every couple of weeks,
- 1:01:00it's like, all right, designers. I never went to mood Fabric,
- 1:01:07but it did. It did feel yeah, very much like that. Well,
- 1:01:10I mean, why wouldn't Why would he be teaching design classes interior design?
- 1:01:15That wouldn't make sense. So I just got I just fangirled out,
- 1:01:17so I wasn't thinking straight, okay, carry I like I could hear his
- 1:01:23voice in my head the whole time. But he did that. Yeah,
- 1:01:29So I did that and then I finished. So I started that in twenty
- 1:01:30nineteen, finished my master's in twenty twenty one, and then went right into
- 1:01:35practicing. There I worked at I've worked at a couple different firms. I've
- 1:01:38always done residential interior design, so now I work for a firm in the
- 1:01:43city, but then also do my own work on the side. I am
- 1:01:46taking on clients. You can book a virtual consultation at the link in my
- 1:01:51bio everywhere, and if you're in the New York City yeah, and if
- 1:01:53you're in the New York City area and are looking for an interior designer,
- 1:01:58here, I am, oh so good. I just I love your taste.
- 1:02:01I love your taste. And then you were also you just got hired
- 1:02:06to do something last night where it crossed over into the New York City housewives.
- 1:02:10How did that? What was that all about? It did? So?
- 1:02:15Amazon was having their annual holiday soiree. That was the name of the
- 1:02:17event. So they do this every year and they have an Amazon Home section,
- 1:02:22so they had me come in and curate the space and decorate it with
- 1:02:27all things from Amazon Home, and there's going to be I posted some stories
- 1:02:30about it, and the tiktoks will be live tonight, so everybody we'll be
- 1:02:35able to see that. But they have a bunch of different people come to
- 1:02:37this and a bunch of different influencers and celebrities curate different spaces throughout the event,
- 1:02:44and it was a huge event. And one space down for me was
- 1:02:47Jessel from the Real Housewives of New York's her curated product space. And I
- 1:02:52was a little nervous because I did review her apartment in Chelsea and was not
- 1:03:00the kindest I was. I like to think I'm never mean, but I
- 1:03:04was not. I was not necessarily singing its praise, So I was a
- 1:03:07little nervous. We like, we were there before the event started, so
- 1:03:10I kind of started chatting her up and I just went in from the beginning.
- 1:03:14I was like, you know, I have this TikTok like like full
- 1:03:17transparency literally, So I went in with it and she was after I like
- 1:03:24said that, she was like, oh I did see that TikTok, Like
- 1:03:27I did see it. She didn't. She wasn't upset or face by it
- 1:03:30at all. She was super sweet, took some pictures together, spent a
- 1:03:34lot of the night hangout, and she was she was lovely, and she's
- 1:03:37beautiful and personally she's stunning. But also that apartment that she lives in,
- 1:03:43is that really hers or was it fully furnished when she came to town to
- 1:03:47rent it. I have a feeling like it was probably furnished. I didn't
- 1:03:53get into that with her because I didn't want to like bring up any I
- 1:03:59think I think I heard she maybe moved or is moving or something, so
- 1:04:04so who knows, but it does look furnish. And Aaron was also at
- 1:04:09the event. She wasn't she was just guessed at the event she wasn't wasn't
- 1:04:13hired to be there. But and also you know, on that same note,
- 1:04:15well to put the Jessel thing to bed, we you know, it's
- 1:04:20an all white place and none of it. I was like, I hate
- 1:04:26this, I hate this so much, but also made more sense later when
- 1:04:30she just you know, moved back to really be on this show, so
- 1:04:34I would imagine that wasn't really her home with her sense of design, So
- 1:04:40really it's not. It's not like it's not a representation of who she is
- 1:04:45and her design aesthetic. I would think, so that story will be determined
- 1:04:50later. And then secondly, I don't ever remember seeing Aaron's place in New
- 1:04:57York. Did we ever see it on the show? We did? They
- 1:05:00did something she never had like an event there, and there was never any
- 1:05:04kind of like a big walkthrough or anything like that, So we didn't really
- 1:05:08see it. But I know she has moved to a new apartment. So
- 1:05:12if there's another season of this version of Bronie, I'm guessing we'll see more
- 1:05:15of it. Then. Okay, well that's so great. I mean,
- 1:05:18were you got an Amazon gig? I mean, how awesome is that?
- 1:05:24It was fun to sorry because I started I started doing the like TikTok thing
- 1:05:30February of this year, and I put, I mean, oh wow,
- 1:05:33really you just started February of this year. Okay you were I am like
- 1:05:41blown away. You have one hundred thousand, over one hundred thousand followers in
- 1:05:44TikTok and you just started that. I had so so when I started doing
- 1:05:48the interior design Tiktoks, I had about thirty thousand TikTok followers that were literally
- 1:05:55just because over the years I had made random videos about nothing, and every
- 1:06:00once in a while there'd be one that would like be somewhat funny and go
- 1:06:03viral. So I had like this little base, but then I really started
- 1:06:06it earlier this year and then it really took off. It all started with
- 1:06:10Melissa Gorga and went from there. Oh my god. Okay, So the
- 1:06:15way I want to just jump into this is and if you're on Patreon,
- 1:06:19you'll be able to you know, if you're a Tier two you'll be able
- 1:06:23to see the bonus video, and I'm going to be putting up pictures of
- 1:06:28you know what we're discussing. And these are just screen shops shots from Tommy's
- 1:06:31TikTok. So I want to since you discussed Melissa, I really want to
- 1:06:35go there first. So you had originally done a review on Melissa's house,
- 1:06:42the new one that they built their dream house, and then as we know
- 1:06:47she they revamped the entire front of the house and then they put in landscaping.
- 1:06:55So I have pulled up here it's Melissa's revamped front entry, and I
- 1:07:00want to have you kind of give me broad strokes on what it was what
- 1:07:04it what you think of what they did with it? After people kind of
- 1:07:09really rip down the shreds about the house. Yeah, yeah, so and
- 1:07:14I do have I have a little bit of a a little bit of a
- 1:07:15scoop there too. But she so I made the review of Melissa's original house
- 1:07:23before she had done any changes to it, and the exterior of the house
- 1:07:28just looked insane. And I did a three part review, all of them,
- 1:07:30I think got over a million views. Like the Internet was a blaze
- 1:07:34about the front of this house because it just it looked What everyone was commenting
- 1:07:41was like it looked like it had been designed by Sims. Like if you're
- 1:07:45on Patreon and see this photo here, it looked crazy, and if you
- 1:07:49google it you can see it to It had all these roof angles that didn't
- 1:07:54they weren't communicating with each other anyway. There was no symmetry the windows.
- 1:07:59A lot of the windows weren't aligned. Like nothing about the house was really
- 1:08:03making much sense. So I did this review and it was kind of like,
- 1:08:08because we know the Jersey Mansions of Lore, we know the Teresa House,
- 1:08:14we know Melissa's old house. The first episode of Housewives I ever watched.
- 1:08:17I was in middle school and it was the first episode of the first
- 1:08:21season that Melissa was on a jersey, and I remember seeing those houses and
- 1:08:25from that age being like, oh my god, this is the most insane
- 1:08:29thing I've ever seen at these homes, right, and this is like the
- 1:08:33millennial ramped up farmuse modern farmhouse version of that. Yes. So I did
- 1:08:41the review on this house, and what I found is that everyone felt the
- 1:08:44same way. But because I have a design background, I was able to
- 1:08:47communicate it in a way that people understood because a lot of like the comments
- 1:08:51and reactions to it were were I was thinking the exact same thing. I
- 1:08:56just didn't know how to verbalize it, Like, I didn't know how to
- 1:08:59say it. So it's kind of just saying what other people were thinking.
- 1:09:02But after I had posted the first few, this was probably in I posted
- 1:09:11the first one in February of this year, and probably in March, I
- 1:09:15got a DM from Melissa and it was just simple. It was a hey,
- 1:09:19smiley face and I was like, I was with my friend. I
- 1:09:23was frozen. I was terrified. I was like, oh, sure,
- 1:09:26sure, of course, I see you, I feel you. I respond,
- 1:09:31and she was actually so sweet. She was like, I saw your
- 1:09:35videos, like she took it with like she took it well. She wanted
- 1:09:41to chat about some tips on design for her house. Wow. So we
- 1:09:46hopped on the phone. She it turns out she had initially seen I talked
- 1:09:53to her for like thirty minutes on the phone. She had initially seen the
- 1:09:55videos because Antonia, her daughter, had sawn it, saw them first and
- 1:10:00apparently was very upset and hurt by what I said, which I felt badly
- 1:10:03about. But Melissa was like said she wanted to be angry, but that
- 1:10:11she agreed with some of my tips, so she wanted to talk through some
- 1:10:14things. And a lot of the internet had been saying that I because of
- 1:10:17what I said, she redid the front of her house. However, to
- 1:10:21clarify, the day that I talked to her on the phone, she already
- 1:10:25had renderings from the architect of the front of her house. She already hated
- 1:10:29it. So I do just have to shout her out there. It wasn't
- 1:10:32just because of me, But maybe I was a bit of a push yes,
- 1:10:36and I love that she was like, Okay, I'm hearing this,
- 1:10:42I'm seeing this, and I need a little bit of help. I mean,
- 1:10:45because the other thing is I can't imagine, even in the world of
- 1:10:49you know, sometimes bad design and things like that, that Melissa would have
- 1:10:55liked what she got. I would imagine that when she did see this,
- 1:10:59she was probably thinking what happened? Right, And a lot of people One
- 1:11:03of the things that she said that a lot of people were like, there's
- 1:11:06no way that's true, is that they quickly drew up these plans and she
- 1:11:12didn't like them, but they submitted them to the town that they live in
- 1:11:15for approval, got approval, and the process to get reapproval of a different
- 1:11:21design would be so long that they just wanted to start building the house and
- 1:11:25get it finished. And a lot of people were like, no way.
- 1:11:28But having worked in these suburbs of New York towns, they can be so
- 1:11:34strict with plans and stuff like that. So I actually do believe her when
- 1:11:39she says it could have been another nine months to a year absolutely to get
- 1:11:43plans plans approved. Sure, sure, sure, Okay. So they just
- 1:11:46went and they were like, better to ask for forgiveness than permission. They're
- 1:11:51like, build it, build it, come better or worse, And it
- 1:11:56was worse, and then they had to fix it, so they did not
- 1:12:00get the same person who built it or the same designer who built it to
- 1:12:04fix it. Yes, I think she hired a different architect to redo the
- 1:12:10front facade of the house. Okay, so now we have the well,
- 1:12:15I mean it just it's such an incredible difference now that we see the change,
- 1:12:21it's such a huge difference. It just like like there are still little
- 1:12:26things I could pick apart, but like, sure it adds dimension. It
- 1:12:29makes sense. And one thing I think about in the original design, those
- 1:12:32rooflines were just decorative, like there's nothing up there. They were just like
- 1:12:36stuck on there to be decorative. Whereas this roof, those windows they added,
- 1:12:42they're actually part of the house. They're actually like real in a way,
- 1:12:45which makes it so much better too. And just landscaping is always going
- 1:12:48to make your house better. Oh god. And I mean it just looks
- 1:12:51like it's so so much better. Proud of this, and really this would
- 1:12:58be tough to continue to see every you know, episode of Jersey when they
- 1:13:01show that exterior. So good for them, Good for them. You also
- 1:13:06made mention that they did a lot to the backyard and what's this all about
- 1:13:13Yeah. So they did this whole like resort style pool in their backyard,
- 1:13:18which I have kind of complicated relationship with because I like, I like it
- 1:13:23on its face, but it also feels like a bit much. But then
- 1:13:26again, it is Jersey, right. It would be strange if it wasn't
- 1:13:30a bit it'd be strange if they didn't have flaming pits of fire surrounding their
- 1:13:35I see a lot of flames. You're right. See, this is why
- 1:13:40I love your takes because it's like, you know, everything is a designer
- 1:13:43in you is like, you know, that's really not my style. But
- 1:13:46the client who happens to be a Jersey housewife, if there aren't flames,
- 1:13:53then we're doing something wrong, you know what I mean? Like, Yeah,
- 1:13:56that's that's what I love about your takes because it's like this does make
- 1:14:00sense for them. And I see the flames in these photos, so many
- 1:14:03flames, so many, so many flames, so many flames, and I
- 1:14:08mean, I'm sure, but I have no doubt that she loves it and
- 1:14:11is so happy. And that's what I tried to say in some of my
- 1:14:14videos too, is like I think she's really happy with this house. That's
- 1:14:16all the matter is because I will say, and I'm sure you know this
- 1:14:18too, Amy, they're certain housewives. When you talk about them on social
- 1:14:23media, the comments are so vitriolic and terrible. And I think when I
- 1:14:30posted these it was kind of when Jersey was airing, so the whole Teresa
- 1:14:33versus Melissa thing was going on, and the comments about her as a person.
- 1:14:38Yeah, under all these videos were so nasty. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:14:42I've had to be like, I'd be like, I almost didn't want to
- 1:14:45make another because you guys were all so many. Well, that's on them.
- 1:14:49You know, you're doing your job, and that's it's your job to
- 1:14:55be judgmental, to break down the design aspect of what you see. That's
- 1:15:00your job. So you know, when it takes a turn into other things
- 1:15:04like, that's out of your control. And you know people are just using
- 1:15:08your page to you know, just let the demons out. Now, another
- 1:15:15house that I loved, and I this one you got me. I was
- 1:15:19laughing really hard and many times and I just dying. But this is Kim
- 1:15:26Zolciak Beerman's house review and this one, this one got me pretty good,
- 1:15:31and like, because there's no way around like making light of it, you
- 1:15:36know, me like, but I did appreciate certain things. So obviously you
- 1:15:43discuss the exterior of this house, which we know, by the way,
- 1:15:46we don't know what's gonna happen with this house, with their divorce, their
- 1:15:48ongoing things like that. But and I think it was smart of you to
- 1:15:53do this now before this is where they're moved out. You know, right
- 1:15:56now Kim is living the basement apparently of this. Yes, I mean this.
- 1:16:01I was afraid that demons were going to get me when I made this
- 1:16:03review. I was a little I was a little scared to make this one
- 1:16:06because she does like to come at come at the girls on social media.
- 1:16:10But this, this this house was an interesting one. It's a lot of
- 1:16:15shades of brown. Yeah, shades of brown, A lot of shades of
- 1:16:18brown. So we it's the exterior is very you know, rocky and rough
- 1:16:23and tough. And but then we go into what this is Kim's office it
- 1:16:30appears to be, and it's we got bookshelves, no books, but we
- 1:16:34got the bookshelves. Those are accessorized with geodes and such. But it just
- 1:16:42doesn't make any sense. The art on the wall is just kind of thrown
- 1:16:46like on there that's not spaced appropriately apart from each other. It's it's very
- 1:16:51it's very interesting, yes, that, and then there's another there's another shot
- 1:16:58where you can see it from a different perspective because there's so much going on
- 1:17:03in here, because there's like wood paneling. But then there's this. The
- 1:17:09furniture is wild. The furniture is wild. There's literally I called it a
- 1:17:15coronation chair in the video because that's what it's like, a red velvet gilded
- 1:17:19chair that looks like it could be used for a coronation. But then there's
- 1:17:24like this kind of modern fuzzy chair, and then this really ornate desk.
- 1:17:28It's like it just doesn't make any sense. Yeah, it really doesn't.
- 1:17:32It doesn't, And yet for Kim, somehow, I guess it does.
- 1:17:38You know. I do remember her in this room doing work for her beauty
- 1:17:44line and things like that. I remember that this room, what is this,
- 1:17:49Tommy, This would be the powder room, And it is like,
- 1:17:54I this gives me a migraine just to look at It's like this demand Ask
- 1:18:00style wallpaper. But the contrast is so intense, the black and white contrast
- 1:18:04with this really intense black but ornate mirror, and then like this kind of
- 1:18:12modern vanity, which is confusing that that is in with the rest of the
- 1:18:15bathroom. And also the black toilet. A black toilet is never a good
- 1:18:20idea, and like every couple of decades, black toilet's come back in black
- 1:18:26toilets are disgusting. If you can't see the dirty about your toilet, like
- 1:18:33you need your toilet to be white, you just do. Oh my god,
- 1:18:36it's it. It looks like Darth Vader. You know, you don't.
- 1:18:40That's just not where you want to be. And then you've got this
- 1:18:43inlet I don't know what you call what do you call a ceiling that has
- 1:18:45a little it's got the little crown molding with a little alcove above cover,
- 1:18:55and it looks like it might be navy blue, yes, which would be
- 1:18:58interesting because the rest it's black and white. That's what I'm confused about right
- 1:19:02there, yase, like the and the sink is black and everything and damaskugh
- 1:19:10yeah, I mean, and also this is so niche. But if you
- 1:19:13look at the ceiling, like you can tell by the slant on the ceiling
- 1:19:16that this is underneath the staircase, which also just like makes it more funny.
- 1:19:21Oh my god. Yeah, I've never like and the damask is very
- 1:19:29like horsehack test you know. No, I'm sorry horseeshack, rorshack. It's
- 1:19:33called rorshack, right, Horseshack is from Welcome Back cart Potter. Yeah,
- 1:19:40I'm just getting my eighties my seventies references and proper references confused. Okay,
- 1:19:45so that's the bathroom. Now you let up a little on when we got
- 1:19:50to the kitchen and I know why. Yeah, so I don't so I
- 1:19:56don't like the cabinetry, I don't like the materials used. But it's this
- 1:20:00curved kitchen, which actually kind of makes a lot of functional sense to have
- 1:20:04the curve around the big island because it makes it easy to be working along
- 1:20:10the range and then turn back to the island and have that be kind of
- 1:20:13your central space. So as far as a functional kitchen, I'm not mad
- 1:20:18at this. Yeah, Tracy, get in here, like, I mean,
- 1:20:21this is why because we remembered from Tarti for the party from Atlanta,
- 1:20:26and this is when we really were in the heyday of Kim and Croy and
- 1:20:30the kids. It was like they're totally in love. They have all the
- 1:20:32kids, they got chef Tracy. They're all in this kitchen. It's chaotic,
- 1:20:38but you know it's warm in there. There was something about it.
- 1:20:42So again I completely agree with you. I can't rip anything down because I
- 1:20:46just feel at home here, much like I feel at home in Teresa's kitchen
- 1:20:51and right that. You know, design wise, I wouldn't nest I wouldn't
- 1:20:56be decorating like that, but I love being there. So this kitchen,
- 1:21:00I think I give it. I give it a pass. Uh, that's
- 1:21:03just my opinion. And and then we go into this other room, which
- 1:21:06I don't know if we've ever even seen on the show. I know that
- 1:21:11was one of the craziest things looking through the real estate photos on this house
- 1:21:15is there's about a million different like living slash sitting rooms, so I didn't
- 1:21:19even know what to call them at some point because I don't think we've seen
- 1:21:21this either. Right, and it has the largest light fixture I've ever seen,
- 1:21:28Like it is preposterously large. This is very okay. I remember seeing
- 1:21:31this light fixture similar to this one in Heather Dubro's new home, the one
- 1:21:36that she just sold. But I'm curious, what do you make of these
- 1:21:41ring chandeliers because I fucking hate them. Yeah, I'm not crazy about them,
- 1:21:47especially when they're like this glit sea and glamy and then you kind of
- 1:21:51have like these dinky little wires holding them up. I'm I'm not crazy about
- 1:21:57them, Okay, Yeah, I mean I think some of the really thin,
- 1:22:00like sleek modern ones aren't bad in the right spot. But like a
- 1:22:04big bedazzled one, I'm gonna say we can we can leave that, okay.
- 1:22:10Yeah, And there's like a chaise here, there's there again. What
- 1:22:15you continue to say is the like the theme and the design aesthetic is all
- 1:22:21over the place because you have like a modern chaise sort of, but then
- 1:22:25you've got an ornate banquette or whatever that what are those bulls? And why
- 1:22:31is the furniture is just kind of randomly placed? And I will say maybe
- 1:22:36it was it was probably moved around for real estate photos, but like it
- 1:22:41just doesn't make any sense, doesn't make any sense at all. The two
- 1:22:46what do you call those kinds of chairs? Wing back chairs? Yeah,
- 1:22:51wing back chairs facing outward? And now what do you think about the window
- 1:22:58treatments here? Because because that would be tricky to those windows it is I
- 1:23:03was going to say, my props to this room in this house is the
- 1:23:08molding to floor window treatments in some of the spaces, because that's a very
- 1:23:13expensive thing to do, that's a very thorough thing to do that a lot
- 1:23:16of people won't, especially if they're trying to save a little bit of money.
- 1:23:19So this was They definitely spent some money on these window treatments. It's
- 1:23:25a little formal and a little heavy, but I think the other option would
- 1:23:29be to do like either something like a shear or just not have a window
- 1:23:33treatment at all, because the windows themselves are so ornate and big, right
- 1:23:39right, right right, it just goes to show it's like, you know,
- 1:23:44when they couldn't, when they didn't have to do something, it's like,
- 1:23:45let's do it, you know, let's do it. And then we
- 1:23:48got these all right, Tommy, take me, take me to what I'm
- 1:23:53looking at right now. This is the most insane window treatment I've ever seen
- 1:24:00in my entire life. There's this this three windows, one treatment for three
- 1:24:06windows, and there's this huge valance that goes across all three windows, and
- 1:24:15then the drapes they come down the side. Usually you just have them on
- 1:24:18the side but they whipped them back up and they stuffed them into the top
- 1:24:24of the valance and it looks like a mustache. And I literally because I
- 1:24:30wanted to be like, oh, that's that one weird style that people sometimes
- 1:24:34do, but I don't particularly like I've never in my life seeing anyone to
- 1:24:41do this. This is not a thing. And there's like a medallion in
- 1:24:44the middle of the valance too, like I know, it's oval Peace.
- 1:24:47And by the way, we're looking at these windows are at the top of
- 1:24:51the stairs, so we're looking at what do you call this area at the
- 1:24:55top of the stairs, like the landing. Okay, I like that,
- 1:25:00the landing. Yeah, I'm looking for like a really fancy you're like landing.
- 1:25:05So this is the landing. And so we're looking at windows on the
- 1:25:10landing. And then if you don't, if you're not thrown off by the
- 1:25:14valance and the curtains and the medallion, then you look down and what's positioned
- 1:25:19in front of the windows is what Tommy. We have an old timey baby
- 1:25:26carriage, which some people are commenting I believe is called a prom a pram
- 1:25:30oh a prom like a British yeah, And it is spooky. It is
- 1:25:36really spook as hell. I mean his house will be haunted by the ghosts
- 1:25:42of Kim and Croy for years to come. Whether they're actual ghosts or not,
- 1:25:46is just the vibe will be there. And then we have a chandelier
- 1:25:49coming from the ceiling, which, you know, it could be worse.
- 1:25:57It could be worse. It's kind of par for the course. It's by
- 1:25:59far are the not the most defensive thing. No, and the wallpaper is
- 1:26:03just very neutral, yeah, very neutral. Still kind of like that formal
- 1:26:09damask style, but a neutral da mask damn with damask. Oh that's old
- 1:26:15Bachelor picture again. So we've done Kim's house, We've done Melissa's revamp.
- 1:26:25I would love to move on to a couple of apartments that I think we
- 1:26:30really like and that you really like, and that is let's start with Brinn
- 1:26:33from New York. I really enjoyed you doing Brin's and Jenna Lyons apartments because
- 1:26:39I mean New York. I mean, these ladies they do it right,
- 1:26:42you know. So uh, now, however you want to do this,
- 1:26:46I'm just going to kind of scroll through some of the pictures. But what
- 1:26:50broad strokes, What did you think about Brin's apartment. In general, I
- 1:26:56thought Brin's apartment was very chic, very well done. That she just did
- 1:27:00a collaboration with CD two, which tracks She's definitely an interior design of Minded
- 1:27:04Girl, and I said this in the video. But her building would not
- 1:27:10allow would not allow a permit for Bravo to film in Brin's apartment. So
- 1:27:15that's why all throughout the season we never saw inside of Brinn's apartment and fainting
- 1:27:21fascinating, but if you want to see pictures, there was a Domino magazine
- 1:27:26feature on the apartment, which is where I got all the images from.
- 1:27:30But it's a really, really cute I think West Village apartment. She just
- 1:27:33did it well. It's a good mix of old pieces and new pieces.
- 1:27:40It's very It's also a rental so the things she did to it are semi
- 1:27:45renter friendly, and a lot of people not in New York City were like,
- 1:27:49she's renting. How she could she be renting? Like she's supposed to
- 1:27:53be a housewife. Even some of the richest people in New York City rent.
- 1:27:56It's just kind of how it goes this. But she did a good
- 1:28:01job with this place. I like her style, and I love the colors.
- 1:28:06Like she has this like olive green, velvety couch well I mean,
- 1:28:15which I think is habitable. Yeah, she's got that sectional. They're The
- 1:28:19one thing I wasn't crazy about was the cowhide rug. It's just very that
- 1:28:25was like ten years ago, super trend. Everyone wanted a cowhide rug.
- 1:28:30I think we could probably pass on that. But if that's the only major
- 1:28:32offense in this apartment, I'm good with it. And I also like she
- 1:28:36has a small space. And she used two dining chairs, dining sized chairs
- 1:28:43as her accent chairs in her living room, so she still gets that effect
- 1:28:47and that look of having like a full living room, but with just the
- 1:28:51smaller chairs because realistically, people are only going to sit in those when they're
- 1:28:55coming over when you're entertaining, So they don't have to be like a lounge
- 1:28:59share that you're gonna curl up in right right. It can have some structure
- 1:29:03to it, it doesn't have to be the most comfortable. I'm not a
- 1:29:08fan of this table. This you know, what do you call it?
- 1:29:13This little it's a bit heavy, this tabeah, I'm not a fan of
- 1:29:15the table. I do love the window treatments. I love the curtains.
- 1:29:21I like the trim she did on the curtains, and I think that table
- 1:29:26might be a CB two table. That's the other thing about this apartment too,
- 1:29:29is she has nice furniture, but it's not it's for the most part,
- 1:29:32nothing is like crazy, like can't afford it inaccessible. Yeah, yes,
- 1:29:39it's very relatable, like this little table. And I love that you
- 1:29:42pointed this out because I never would have thought about this in terms of design.
- 1:29:45But talk about what she did here in this corner. Yeah, so
- 1:29:49she had this little corner between her fireplace and her kitchen, and she found
- 1:29:55a perfect little bench that just happened to be the perfect size and stuck it
- 1:30:00in there and essentially created using some pillows, created her own banquette, which
- 1:30:04a lot of people would pay thousands and thousands of dollars to have custom mill
- 1:30:09work built in work done. And I think it's just so it's so chic.
- 1:30:13It's such a great idea too. You know, I never would have
- 1:30:16thought of that, like have put your own bension and you can have some
- 1:30:20sort of little cozy corner. I just think it's so brilliant. Do you
- 1:30:25do you think that she is the one who got all of these pieces for
- 1:30:30her house and designed it herself or did she have help? So it didn't
- 1:30:34mention an interior designer in the article, so I think I guess it was
- 1:30:40probably a combination. I guess she probably got help and advice from people on
- 1:30:44certain things. But I do think I do think she has she has pretty
- 1:30:47good style and did a lot of it herself. Oh Okay, and she
- 1:30:54claims she put these she claims she put these peel and sick floors in herself
- 1:30:58too. Wow. And it's very much a Kyle Richard's black and white tile
- 1:31:03looking for right, that very popular thing that Kyle has in her house.
- 1:31:08I love the color in this kitchen on the walls. What would you call
- 1:31:12that? Yeah, it's like a beautiful kind of mauvesh color, kind of
- 1:31:16like a darker blush. And this is one of the like semi renter friendly
- 1:31:20things she did. She painted the cabinets and the walls in the kitchen,
- 1:31:25which when you move out, like you're going to have to pay to have
- 1:31:28that painted back and restored to what it was. And I think she also
- 1:31:30switched the hardware out on the drawerfronts and the cabinets, So it's like a
- 1:31:34semi renter friendly thing to do. But if you are going to be in
- 1:31:38a place for multiple years, even if you're renting it, I think it
- 1:31:41was probably a good move. Yeah. And I love the copper pots.
- 1:31:45I love her use of artwork in her home. I love it. All
- 1:31:48the pieces of art that she has I think are really beautiful. And I
- 1:31:51love her bedroom. Tell me, talk to me about her bedroom. Her
- 1:31:56bedroom is so cute and cozy. She's got this deep, deep navy on
- 1:32:00the walls. But she has these huge windows with so I have a lot
- 1:32:03of apartment envy from her. She has these huge windows, this pre war
- 1:32:08apartment with all of this light just pouring in. So she was able to
- 1:32:11do this really dark, moody color on the walls and still have it not
- 1:32:15feel like dark and cramped. And this room is cramps like it's she's got
- 1:32:19the clothing rack, she's got everything smushed together, but it still looks it
- 1:32:24still looks very nice and cozy. I mean it's got to be tough,
- 1:32:27you know, in New York City, to like I don't. I mean,
- 1:32:30I've lived I lived there. I can't imagine living there as an adult
- 1:32:32now and having a family. I don't know how people do it. I
- 1:32:36mean, you don't want to do it unless you've got a ton of money,
- 1:32:39but like it's so difficult. You need to be so creative. Yeah,
- 1:32:44Jenna Lyons apartment. Now, of the two, Jenna's and Brin's,
- 1:32:47who would you say you favor more? I would definitely say Jenna's. I
- 1:32:54love Brinds, but Jenna's is just a whole different level. Part of it
- 1:32:58is a whole different income bracket. Like this is ye, this apartment is
- 1:33:03expensive. She owns it and it's been featured even before she was on the
- 1:33:10show, it had been featured in a million magazines. But I feel like
- 1:33:14her and Brinn interior design wise, have like somewhat similar style. Jenna's is
- 1:33:18definitely a bit more out there. They're like a bit more bold choices,
- 1:33:24but I feel like they're kind of talking on the same wavelength. This couch
- 1:33:29that Jenna has is so beautiful. This color, I don't know, is
- 1:33:33this like a terra cotta? What do you call this color? She said
- 1:33:38it's pink, so cause it's kind of hard to tell in pictures Salmon on
- 1:33:43film. Yeah, it's like a pink salmon velvet. Okay, and it
- 1:33:46just works. I love it. I feel like, is that what is
- 1:33:50the trendy color right now? Like, what are some trendy design colors that
- 1:33:56you're seeing in your work these days? You know, they change a lot.
- 1:34:02I feel like there's there's we're still kind of in that, like terra
- 1:34:08cotta, warm, rusty colors. I feel like, especially for fall,
- 1:34:12we're seeing a lot of that right now, especially as like an accent,
- 1:34:15because I think design trends in general went so minimal and just like monochromatic for
- 1:34:21a while, and now we're starting to see some of those warmer, darker
- 1:34:27colors come back. I appreciate that, Like I think you mean like the
- 1:34:31neutrals and just a lot of creams and that that was a real trend for
- 1:34:35a while. Yeah, and it was, and that was if you looked
- 1:34:40in any just like basic furniture catalog, like that's what you were you were
- 1:34:44going to see. But now some of those warmer, richer tones are coming
- 1:34:48back, and there's some jewel tones coming in, Okay, seeing a lot
- 1:34:51of it's like an accent color. So yeah, some of those are coming
- 1:34:55up. Great. I'm glad about that because I like a warmer aesthetic only
- 1:35:00speaking. And here's the pink couch that she has. I just absolutely love
- 1:35:05it. What is that in the very back uh that archway there? I
- 1:35:12don't know what that is behind the plants. So it's a giant disco like
- 1:35:16disco ball covered. Oh, it's just an Oh, I don't know what
- 1:35:20it's from where it is? Well, I got it. It's an So
- 1:35:25it's it's just art. We know it's not the oh from Bravo because she
- 1:35:29wasn't at bravocn No, she was. She's not a Bravo so you can
- 1:35:33only get so much out of me. That's funny. Okay, Actually,
- 1:35:40you know what now that I think about it. She was there last year
- 1:35:44when they announced like the yeah, but it was New York, so she
- 1:35:49did. She was like, I'm not going to Vegas. That's right,
- 1:35:53right right? I love her so much. Okay, this talk to me
- 1:36:00about this kitchen. This kitchen, she has this incredible light fixture in her
- 1:36:06kitchen, which is from a hotel in Italy, like a hotel lobby.
- 1:36:11That's how big this thing is. Wow. And she purchased it afterwards and
- 1:36:16had it installed in her kitchen. It's beautiful. She has this incredible brass
- 1:36:21anti brass backsplash. She has this island that's like three fourths marble, one
- 1:36:28fourth Butcher's block. It's such a beautiful kitchen. Oh my god. So
- 1:36:33this light she got this light fixture she got from a hotel. Yes,
- 1:36:39it was in a hotel, and I think like somewhere in Italy, like
- 1:36:42Venice or something O that is I mean to like walk into a hotel and
- 1:36:45be like I want that. I know, and I can't remember what she's
- 1:36:50It has some crazy number of light bulbs in it. I can't remember how
- 1:36:54many. I can say it in the video, but like a lot of
- 1:36:57light bulbs. Oh it's so cool. I mean, is it going to
- 1:37:00like does it give Heather Dubro a run for her money, because she was
- 1:37:05like, my chandelier has the most crystals that's ever been created. You know
- 1:37:10that one chandelier when you walk into the foyer anyway, Well, I think
- 1:37:14that's like that's the difference is like Jenna Lyons has like really chic taste and
- 1:37:18it's like this is an incredible vintage piece. Heather Debro is like, I
- 1:37:23want the sparkliest, most expensive thing I can find right right, right,
- 1:37:27yeah, which is a bit of a difference. Yeah, now what do
- 1:37:30you think? Okay, this this area over here where we've seen many times
- 1:37:33with the books and this beautiful circular wooden table in the chairs. I like
- 1:37:41this area. It does confuse me a little. It's interesting to me that
- 1:37:45she doesn't have like a larger table here almost that you could use as like
- 1:37:48a proper like breakfast table or somewhere to eat. I do like the look
- 1:37:53of this space a little bit. It confuses me as far as like I
- 1:37:58think it's gorgeous. It confuses me as what you would use it for because
- 1:38:01it's also like it's got all the books around it. But I feel like
- 1:38:04people don't usually actually read sitting at a table. You'd like go to a
- 1:38:09couch er chair or something. Right, But it is very it is very
- 1:38:13beautiful. I love it. My gosh. Let's see. Oh her bedroom,
- 1:38:17Oh my gosh. Yes, I am obsessed with her bedroom. She
- 1:38:23has this wood paneling. She has two mismatched sconces, but they work together.
- 1:38:29She has the glass stores to the bathroom, which I would actually hate
- 1:38:32in practice but love aesthetically. It's gorgeous. Well, I learned. I
- 1:38:39mean I learned a lot from your videos, and I feel like I am
- 1:38:43a designer now I know what a landing is. But no, I actually
- 1:38:50was so with you when you were like, I personally don't want to have
- 1:38:54my bathroom open like that, like I like clothes. But then you said,
- 1:38:57but there's no windows in her bedroom, so you need to have the
- 1:39:00light from the bathroom coming in and then it spills into the bedroom. Like,
- 1:39:03oh my god, that makes so much sense. So I love it.
- 1:39:08The chandeliers, and how did you feel about that? I really like
- 1:39:12the chandelier, especially because the chandelier is a very old school, where everything
- 1:39:15else in here is kind of mod so it's like a nice it's a nice
- 1:39:19way to mix in different styles. She knows how to mix in different styles
- 1:39:25so well, and like, just like the way she dresses. It always
- 1:39:28feels kind of casual, even if it's stressed up, except for when she
- 1:39:31wore jeans the reunion, but that's another thing. But her bathroom is incredible.
- 1:39:39I mean, this marble is beautiful. It's incredible, and she just
- 1:39:44has so much of it, Like I can't even guess how much she's spent
- 1:39:48on this marble, Well, what do you mean? Like so, because
- 1:39:51I have no idea in terms of price point when you're looking at something like
- 1:39:55this, so in your head, what are we? Can you give some
- 1:39:59sort of estimate on what a marble countertop would be for a bathroom like this,
- 1:40:04like this thick marble. It's hard to even say because I don't know
- 1:40:10exactly what type of marble it is, and that can vary a lot.
- 1:40:14But well, you'll notice about all of this, from the shower to the
- 1:40:17countertop to everything is it's all. It's not pieces or tiles of marble.
- 1:40:21These are marble slabs. I'm guessing she probably had to buy two or maybe
- 1:40:27three marble slabs for this, And if it's a nice marble that can be
- 1:40:31she could have spent well over one hundred thousand dollars on marble in this bathroom.
- 1:40:36Wow. Well that's the type of number I want to hear. That's
- 1:40:42the type of thing I'm talking about. Well, I am just so delighted
