- 0:00Speaker 1: Danny and Cole, 97.1 Hank FM. Good morning. Welcome to
- 0:05Speaker 1: another week. Today is going to be the most comfortable
- 0:07Speaker 1: day of the entire week.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Yeah, it's.
- 0:12Speaker 3: A little chilly out that way as well.
- 0:16Speaker 4: I was gone all weekend, and when I came back
- 0:18Speaker 4: home yesterday, my wife was still parked in the middle
- 0:21Speaker 4: of the garage. She had used my absence to be like, well,
- 0:24Speaker 4: I'm going to take all the space. So I just
- 0:27Speaker 4: left my car in the driveway last night, came out
- 0:29Speaker 4: to it, and I was like, Do I need to
- 0:31Speaker 4: turn a little.
- 0:32Speaker 2: Bit of heat on here?
- 0:35Speaker 1: It's only 59 degrees to start your morning off. Going
- 0:37Speaker 1: to get up near 78, so enjoy today because back
- 0:40Speaker 1: into the 90s tomorrow. We are kicking off the week
- 0:43Speaker 1: in a big way. I know you're a bachelor in
- 0:46Speaker 1: it all weekend. I had my birthday weekend. So if
- 0:50Speaker 1: we're dragging a little bit this morning, you maybe went
- 0:52Speaker 1: to Dan and Shay this weekend, whatever it is you're
- 0:54Speaker 1: up to, we're hanging with you and we are giving
- 0:57Speaker 1: you a chance to win $ 1, 500 of new country cash.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Kind of jinxed it last week. We're like, yeah, we've
- 1:02Speaker 1: been on a winning streak and then we... Have not.
- 1:05Speaker 1: So we just keep rolling over that money. Fifteen hundred
- 1:07Speaker 1: dollars today for you to win. Eight fifty. We're going
- 1:10Speaker 1: to tell you the exact time to be listening. And then,
- 1:12Speaker 1: of course, it's a new week. Some new tickets to
- 1:15Speaker 1: win this morning.
- 1:15Speaker 4: We have Trans-Siberian Orchestra tickets. Always a tradition here in
- 1:21Speaker 4: Indy to welcome them for the month of December and
- 1:24Speaker 4: get ready for Christmas. That one is on December 22nd.
- 1:28Speaker 4: Chance for you to win those and Indy 11 tickets.
- 1:30Speaker 5: I love.
- 1:31Speaker 4: Love going to India Love and Games. We've got a
- 1:33Speaker 4: family four pack of those for you at some point
- 1:34Speaker 4: this morning as well.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Also, I was just reading this again. We're never that
- 1:39Speaker 1: prepared here on this show. We'll admit it to you.
- 1:41Speaker 1: It is to the game, the match, pups on the
- 1:45Speaker 1: pitch night. Oh, okay. Yeah, we're giving those away today.
- 1:49Speaker 3: They did what?
- 1:53Speaker 2: You're on a plane.
- 1:55Speaker 4: Maybe you brought some snacks with you or maybe you're
- 1:58Speaker 4: just eating the snacks or the meal or whatever they
- 2:00Speaker 4: give to you. Usually there's at least something between your
- 2:04Speaker 4: food and the tray table. You probably don't have it
- 2:05Speaker 4: right on the tray table.
- 2:06Speaker 1: Do not put it on the tray table.
- 2:08Speaker 4: That's exactly what a flight attendant is going viral for
- 2:11Speaker 4: saying because she said you should.
- 2:13Speaker 2: Never eat food off of those.
- 2:14Speaker 4: It's because some parents use them to change their baby's diapers,
- 2:20Speaker 4: which take the baby to the bathroom.
- 2:24Speaker 1: I was going to say there's no room in the bathroom.
- 2:27Speaker 1: There's no room where you're sitting either. So I guess
- 2:29Speaker 1: there's no room no matter what. There's got to be
- 2:31Speaker 1: more room in the bathroom than at your seat. No,
- 2:34Speaker 1: I never. Like during COVID, they would hand out when
- 2:40Speaker 1: you got on the plane, the wipes.
- 2:42Speaker 2: I think they still do that.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Not on the flights I've been on. They haven't handed
- 2:46Speaker 1: me anything. I barely get pretzels anymore. And that was
- 2:50Speaker 1: the first thing my best friend who works in the
- 2:52Speaker 1: airline industry would do. She would wipe everything down before
- 2:56Speaker 1: she would even touch anything. I was like, should I
- 2:58Speaker 1: be doing this?
- 3:00Speaker 3: Annie and Cole, 97.1 Hank FM.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Got a Hank's giving announcement for you. Your headliners, the
- 3:09Speaker 1: band Perry.
- 3:11Speaker 3: We're the band Perry.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Psychological.
- 3:16Speaker 3: And Graylin James.
- 3:30Speaker 1: I love that if you were listening to our Big
- 3:32Speaker 1: Carb Day broadcast, we already kind of spilled a little
- 3:34Speaker 1: bit of this, a little insider knowledge on this.
- 3:37Speaker 4: You already know this if you heard that back in May,
- 3:40Speaker 4: but coming up Thursday, November 5th at the Slippery Noodle,
- 3:44Speaker 4: Hank's Giving. And as you look at your calendar, is
- 3:48Speaker 4: there anything that is as good as this that is free?
- 3:51Speaker 3: No.
- 3:52Speaker 2: This is a free show.
- 3:54Speaker 4: You just have to go win your tickets at ticket
- 3:57Speaker 4: stops around town.
- 3:58Speaker 2: We're doing them like Every Friday in October.
- 4:01Speaker 1: I love we're teaming up with Moondrops Distillery to do this.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Moondrops Distillery, one of my favorite places. Slippery Noodle going
- 4:07Speaker 1: to be hosting again. And we'll get you more details
- 4:11Speaker 1: as we start to get closer to these ticket drops.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Can we announce the first... October 2nd?
- 4:16Speaker 2: I think so, yeah. You did it.
- 4:17Speaker 4: Friday, October 2nd from 4 to 6 p.m. at Moondrop's
- 4:21Speaker 4: Distillery in Fortville. And you'll be able to find all
- 4:24Speaker 4: the details, everything on our website at HankFM.com. Hank's Giving
- 4:28Speaker 4: coming up November 5th. It is free to see the
- 4:31Speaker 4: band Perry and Graylin James.
- 4:33Speaker 1: I loved when we had Kimberly on the show for
- 4:35Speaker 1: Carve Day. We asked her about their single Psychological. And
- 4:40Speaker 1: I just very simply was like, you know what? Do
- 4:43Speaker 1: you remember what this song was about? Do you remember
- 4:45Speaker 1: having a first celebrity crush? And she hit us with
- 4:48Speaker 1: this deranged story.
- 4:50Speaker 6: No, but I remember the first boy, it was actually,
- 4:53Speaker 6: he was in my first band, which, you know, we
- 4:56Speaker 6: did have a rule. You cannot date in the band,
- 4:59Speaker 6: but he, I just was.
- 5:00Speaker 3: In love with him.
- 5:01Speaker 6: I don't even know that he really knew my full name.
- 5:04Speaker 6: He paid no attention to me, but he always wore
- 5:07Speaker 6: these basketball shoes. And I remember one time he came
- 5:10Speaker 6: to band practice and he had to change out his
- 5:12Speaker 6: laces and he left his old laces in the living room.
- 5:16Speaker 6: We would rehearse at my house and I confiscated those
- 5:19Speaker 6: after the rehearsal and.
- 5:22Speaker 3: I had a bin box.
- 5:23Speaker 6: His name was Ben and I had a box in
- 5:25Speaker 6: my closet and I kept all his gum wrappers.
- 5:29Speaker 2: Nothing psycho about that.
- 5:32Speaker 1: No, it's love, Scott. That's love.
- 5:35Speaker 3: Okay.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Pure love.
- 5:38Speaker 3: Yes.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Have you, have you ran into him as an adult,
- 5:41Speaker 1: like later on in life?
- 5:43Speaker 6: No, no, this person does not even exist on the Internet.
- 5:47Speaker 6: So I think he was real life. I felt like
- 5:50Speaker 6: he was, you know, but yeah.
- 5:53Speaker 1: I love that when that was going on, all of
- 5:55Speaker 1: our faces in the city were like, should you be
- 5:56Speaker 1: saying this?
- 5:58Speaker 2: I love that story so much. I think it's so funny.
- 6:01Speaker 2: And we had.
- 6:03Speaker 4: Scott Borchetta in studio with us for our Big Carb
- 6:05Speaker 4: Day broadcast, and his assistant was in here. I don't
- 6:07Speaker 4: know that I can say what she said off air,
- 6:09Speaker 4: but it was also hilarious.
- 6:12Speaker 1: So if you want to go hear more stories like
- 6:14Speaker 1: that at our Thanksgiving concert, we've got to give away
- 6:17Speaker 1: like a pair of passes, right?
- 6:19Speaker 4: Yeah, let's do it. We're going to call number 9-317-663-9797.
- 6:20Speaker 4: It's Annie and Cole, 97.1 Hank FM. Let's get a
- 6:22Speaker 4: Thanksgiving winner.
- 6:23Speaker 3: Who's this? This is Sierra.
- 6:31Speaker 2: Sierra, you are going to Hanksgiving! Exciting!
- 6:36Speaker 3: Thank you so much. You're welcome.
- 6:39Speaker 1: You're going to see the band Perry and Graylin James
- 6:41Speaker 1: for free at the Slippery Noodle as a thank you
- 6:44Speaker 1: for being a Hanksgiving listener.
- 6:47Speaker 2: Yeah, that works.
- 6:49Speaker 1: That's so exciting.
- 6:52Speaker 3: Annie and Cole. 97.1 Hank FM.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Well, we just got our first, second, third. I forgot
- 7:03Speaker 1: how many Thanksgiving tickets we already gave away. We just
- 7:05Speaker 1: keep giving Thanksgiving tickets away. Winner, and Graylin James, one
- 7:09Speaker 1: of those headliners, and we had a chance to get
- 7:12Speaker 1: his excitement during our Big Carb Day show, what it's
- 7:14Speaker 1: going to be like to be part of Thanksgiving.
- 7:16Speaker 7: Oh, dude, I'm so excited. Get to play with the
- 7:18Speaker 7: band Perry, too. I'm so stoked about that, actually. Got
- 7:22Speaker 7: to open for them around that same time. And just
- 7:26Speaker 7: back in the day, right before they got on that
- 7:28Speaker 7: rocket ship.
- 7:29Speaker 2: So another full circle.
- 7:31Speaker 7: Thing will be happening with you guys.
- 7:33Speaker 2: I could not be more stoked. We're going to rage.
- 7:37Speaker 1: Everyone excited. for hanksgiving we're excited for hanksgiving again we're
- 7:42Speaker 1: gonna have ticket shops all around town you can find
- 7:44Speaker 1: them online at hankfm.com uh you know what we are
- 7:48Speaker 1: talking about thanksgiving and we're talking about as soon as
- 7:50Speaker 1: i hear thanksgiving hanksgiving i'm like food food food and
- 7:54Speaker 1: we also had graylin james on you know during that
- 7:56Speaker 1: big carb day broadcast and we were talking about the
- 7:59Speaker 1: best thanksgiving food and he had a very strong hot
- 8:04Speaker 1: take on this I tell you, dude.
- 8:06Speaker 7: Everybody's on team ham right now. Like the past few years,
- 8:09Speaker 7: my family's been like ham, ham, ham. But I made
- 8:10Speaker 7: turkey for the first time this year.
- 8:12Speaker 2: And I'm like, there it is. I'm trying to get
- 8:14Speaker 2: back on the OG grind.
- 8:15Speaker 1: Graylin James, one of our headliners for Hank's giving this year.
- 8:19Speaker 4: Yes, it is coming up Thursday, November. Tickets are free
- 8:24Speaker 4: and we got ticket stops online. all around town every
- 8:26Speaker 4: Friday in October. The details on our website at hankfm.com.
- 8:30Speaker 1: But because he was so passionate about food when it
- 8:32Speaker 1: comes to Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving, I thought our Mount Rushmore Monday,
- 8:36Speaker 1: can we talk about the best holiday foods? Okay. Like
- 8:39Speaker 1: maybe not just Thanksgiving, but what food do you associate
- 8:42Speaker 1: with a holiday that is the absolute best? We're going
- 8:45Speaker 1: to run that down coming up.
- 8:46Speaker 5: Be a part of the show. Call or text 317-663-9797.
- 8:51Speaker 5: Annie and Cole, 97.1 Hank FM. Annie and Cole.
- 9:00Speaker 3: 97.1 Hank FM.
- 9:01Speaker 1: We just made our big Hanksgiving announcements. Of course, we
- 9:03Speaker 1: got to talk about holiday foods. We did ask our
- 9:06Speaker 1: Hanksgiving winner, Sierra, what her favorite holiday food was. Oh, gosh.
- 9:12Speaker 3: I would say... Probably, you can't go wrong with sweet
- 9:16Speaker 3: potato casserole.
- 9:17Speaker 2: Oh, good answer.
- 9:18Speaker 3: That is a good answer.
- 9:19Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, that's good. That's a good one.
- 9:21Speaker 4: The first things that come to mind for me, mom's cookies,
- 9:29Speaker 4: Aunt Kelly's macaroni and cheese. I like the hash brown
- 9:32Speaker 4: casserole too, like the cheesy potatoes and the cornflakes on top.
- 9:37Speaker 2: Give me that.
- 9:38Speaker 4: And then I am more of a ham person than
- 9:41Speaker 4: a turkey person. But a couple of times my father-in-law
- 9:45Speaker 4: has done a smoked turkey and that was pretty good.
- 9:49Speaker 1: I like that you settled on Thanksgiving foods, right? Those
- 9:52Speaker 1: are all.
- 9:52Speaker 3: Yeah, those are all.
- 9:53Speaker 2: Pretty much Thanksgiving foods.
- 9:55Speaker 1: Because we associate food Thanksgiving, right? Like as a main holiday.
- 10:00Speaker 1: That's celebrating food. This could be any holiday, any holiday
- 10:03Speaker 1: on the calendar. So like I went hot. I love
- 10:05Speaker 1: a good classic hot dog on a fourth of July.
- 10:07Speaker 2: That was actually the first thing I was thinking when
- 10:08Speaker 2: you said any holiday. I was like, well, I could
- 10:10Speaker 2: have done hot dogs.
- 10:11Speaker 1: Hot dogs on that list. My family did a weird
- 10:14Speaker 1: thing where we always had long John Silvers on Christmas Eve.
- 10:17Speaker 1: So I'm a full little love for LJS up on there.
- 10:21Speaker 1: My mom's homemade stuffing, always the best. And you know what?
- 10:25Speaker 1: I accidentally bought creamed corn. Like, I don't like cream corn.
- 10:30Speaker 1: I just said sweet corn. I didn't see the creamed
- 10:33Speaker 1: part of the can. So I bought a bunch of it.
- 10:37Speaker 1: I don't know what to do with it. And so
- 10:38Speaker 1: I just remember I used cream corn to make cornbread casserole.
- 10:42Speaker 1: And that is one of my favorite holiday food dishes too.
- 10:46Speaker 3: Wow, there's a lot of food.
- 10:47Speaker 1: What is your favorite holiday food?
- 10:50Speaker 3: Do you really want to know? Annie and Cole want
- 10:52Speaker 3: to know.
- 10:53Speaker 4: This past weekend, I was in Chicago celebrating a bachelor party.
- 10:59Speaker 4: About a month ago, almost two months ago now, I
- 11:02Speaker 4: was in New York for a bachelor party and it
- 11:04Speaker 4: had us talking here in the studio off air about
- 11:06Speaker 4: the best city for a bachelor bachelorette party.
- 11:11Speaker 2: Both of those cities were great for them. Great place
- 11:16Speaker 2: to do it because there's so much to do.
- 11:17Speaker 4: I would say the only problem with both of them
- 11:22Speaker 4: is that because they are such big, busy cities and
- 11:26Speaker 4: you're usually rolling with a group of like six, seven,
- 11:29Speaker 4: eight people. If you don't have a reservation somewhere, it's
- 11:34Speaker 4: going to be tough to get in and do stuff.
- 11:37Speaker 2: Otherwise, they're both fantastic.
- 11:39Speaker 1: Not cities I would immediately think of when you said bachelor,
- 11:42Speaker 1: bachelorette party. First thought, Vegas, right?
- 11:45Speaker 4: Yeah, that's where I was supposed to go for mine.
- 11:47Speaker 4: We did not because of COVID.
- 11:50Speaker 2: Didn't make it.
- 11:51Speaker 1: We've talked about this before, though, when bachelor, bachelorette parties
- 11:55Speaker 1: have now turned into this destination thing. Like, yeah, everybody's
- 11:58Speaker 1: going somewhere. You're not just going one night out to
- 12:01Speaker 1: the bar here in town. It's a whole thing.
- 12:07Speaker 2: I don't think I've ever actually done a bachelor party
- 12:11Speaker 2: here in town i think.
- 12:12Speaker 1: I have always i haven't we've traveled.
- 12:14Speaker 4: Traveled for them i we've i've done a few in
- 12:16Speaker 4: chicago we did new york i did one in houston
- 12:20Speaker 4: i did one in arkansas yeah they're always big they're
- 12:25Speaker 4: always travel.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Yeah i had mine in nashville rob had his in.
- 12:30Speaker 4: Milwaukee okay yeah but neither of those two terrible of
- 12:34Speaker 4: drives for you I don't know.
- 12:37Speaker 1: Did you have yours somewhere special or do you think
- 12:39Speaker 1: of a place like, yeah, if I got married, my
- 12:41Speaker 1: bachelor bachelor party would be here. I think the best
- 12:45Speaker 1: city for this would be.
- 12:48Speaker 5: Text or give us a call. 317-663-9797.
- 12:51Speaker 3: Annie and Cole on Hank FM.
- 12:55Speaker 2: I was just in Chicago this past weekend.
- 12:56Speaker 4: We had a ton of fun and we were talking
- 12:59Speaker 4: about maybe the best cities or best places to go
- 13:02Speaker 4: for your bachelor bachelorette parties. Jerry on the Army Air
- 13:05Speaker 4: text line saying they did Vegas for mine.
- 13:07Speaker 3: It was a blast.
- 13:08Speaker 2: How about this one?
- 13:09Speaker 4: My wife went on a cruise to the Bahamas.
- 13:12Speaker 1: Okay. I don't even think about leaving the country for mine.
- 13:16Speaker 2: I didn't either.
- 13:17Speaker 4: We actually talked about it for this one that I
- 13:19Speaker 4: just went on, decided it was going to be easier
- 13:21Speaker 4: to go to Chicago. Um, some other ones that are
- 13:24Speaker 4: coming through. I see Austin, Texas and Scottsdale, Arizona. I
- 13:30Speaker 4: see another one for Chicago. We both have talked about
- 13:33Speaker 4: how much we love this city, San Diego.
- 13:35Speaker 1: I don't know if I would associate with a bachelor
- 13:37Speaker 1: bachelor party, but yeah, put me anywhere by the ocean
- 13:40Speaker 1: and I'm, I'm good to go. Right here.
- 13:51Speaker 3: Annie and Cole on Hank FM.
- 13:53Speaker 1: You can still text the keyword LASER to 317-663-9797. We'll
- 13:57Speaker 1: get you entered in to win Trans-Siberian Orchestra tickets. Also,
- 14:03Speaker 1: the phone number you need to share your good news.
- 14:05Speaker 1: I think it was a great weekend for Central Indiana kids. Like,
- 14:09Speaker 1: I think they all did big things. Did you watch
- 14:12Speaker 1: every weekend they do a kick for money on College
- 14:16Speaker 1: Game Day on ESPN?
- 14:17Speaker 4: Yeah, kind of like Pat McAfee's thing. And if you
- 14:20Speaker 4: can kick this field goal, he gives away a bunch
- 14:22Speaker 4: of money. It feels like it just keeps going up
- 14:23Speaker 4: and up.
- 14:24Speaker 1: It does. It does. And so this time, though, very
- 14:27Speaker 1: special connection because Connor, who is a University of Texas freshman,
- 14:31Speaker 1: made the field goal during college game day, won $ 1. 2 million.
- 14:36Speaker 1: He's from Zionsville.
- 14:38Speaker 2: I also saw that he's donating half.
- 14:40Speaker 1: Donating half of the money. So $ 600, 000 going to him,
- 14:42Speaker 1: $ 600, 000 going back to charity. I forgot the name of
- 14:46Speaker 1: the specific Indianapolis charity that he was giving. It was
- 14:49Speaker 1: a local charity here in Indy.
- 14:51Speaker 2: Yeah, it was.
- 14:51Speaker 1: Oh, Indy Base Building Tomorrow.
- 14:54Speaker 3: Yes.
- 14:54Speaker 2: Yes, that's what it is.
- 14:56Speaker 1: Gets $ 600, 000. Former Park Tudor soccer player. And I don't
- 15:00Speaker 1: even know what your life would be like. You're a
- 15:01Speaker 1: college freshman. One, you're on national television. Already nerve-wracking. And
- 15:07Speaker 1: then you barefoot kick for 1.2 mil.
- 15:11Speaker 3: What are you doing? What is your life?
- 15:13Speaker 1: What is your college career like after that? He's a freshman.
- 15:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:16Speaker 4: I also think if they asked me to do that
- 15:18Speaker 4: right there on national TV, like I would Charlie Brown
- 15:22Speaker 4: that so hard.
- 15:23Speaker 2: I would, I would whiff.
- 15:25Speaker 1: I would be so bad at it. So congratulations. And
- 15:28Speaker 1: really cool. Decided to give half of it to charity.
- 15:31Speaker 1: And then we had Dan and Shay in town this weekend.
- 15:34Speaker 1: And I saw one of my favorite clips was they
- 15:36Speaker 1: pulled a little kid up on stage and they got
- 15:38Speaker 1: a chance to sing with Dan and Shay.
- 15:42Speaker 3: Danny and Cole, weekday mornings 6 to 10 on 97.1
- 15:44Speaker 3: Hank FM.
