  Speaker 1: to Cleveland. And now I really wish I did go

  Speaker 1: because that series, the Cardinals sweep the Guardians over the

  Speaker 1: weekend was some of the most fun baseball we've seen

  Speaker 1: from this team. And now I have missed out and

  Speaker 1: I fear it and I'm jealous. I wish I was there.

  Speaker 1: What a fun, fun weekend for the Cardinals, don't you think?

  Speaker 2: Yeah? And guys, I don't even know where to start.

  Speaker 2: And I'm going to ask you a question maybe after

  Speaker 2: I throw a few things out there. I want to

  Speaker 2: get your opinion on something. But you know this, this

  Speaker 2: this series was I know, it sounds kind of crazy

  Speaker 2: to say it was extraordinary, you know, because we're talking

  Speaker 2: about the end of June and it's the Guardians. Even

  Speaker 2: though when the Cardinals went in there, the Guardians had
• 1:18
  Speaker 2: a winning record and they're certainly a respectable team, and
• 1:21
  Speaker 2: they pitch well. But the Cardinals go in there and
• 1:25
  Speaker 2: you know, they not only get the sweep, but you
• 1:28
  Speaker 2: have Sonny Gray, you know, basically one pitch away from
• 1:32
  Speaker 2: a perfect game on Friday. On Saturday, you know, miles
• 1:35
  Speaker 2: of mic list gets beat up. It's okay, it happens,
• 1:39
  Speaker 2: but they're you know, they're down by five runs. They
• 1:42
  Speaker 2: come back and win nine to six. And then Sunday,
• 1:47
  Speaker 2: you know, they get a lot of guys in the
• 1:48
  Speaker 2: lineup doing this, doing that, doing this, doing that. They
• 1:50
  Speaker 2: beat up on the Indians. Excuse me, the Guardian's pitching again,
• 1:53
  Speaker 2: and they win. It'll blow out another shutout. So there's
• 1:56
  Speaker 2: two shutouts in the series. The Cardinals scored twenty one

  Speaker 2: runs into three games. They had their biggest comeback of
• 2:03
  Speaker 2: the season, and the Guardians scored in one one inning
• 2:09
  Speaker 2: of the entire series. That was the sixth that they
• 2:11
  Speaker 2: dropped on Michaelis. So the Cardinals shut them out twenty
• 2:15
  Speaker 2: six of the twenty seven innings. And you don't mind
• 2:18
  Speaker 2: me looking my notes here, because I just think this
• 2:20
  Speaker 2: stuff is crazy. So you have Gray and Libby and
• 2:26
  Speaker 2: Matt's and Mayiton and Hellsley and Swonsin and Romero, O'Brien

  Speaker 2: and King. So that's nine pitchers, nine of the ten

  Speaker 2: pitchers that they use, Miles Mey and the other one.

  Speaker 2: Twenty those nine pitchers twenty six shutout innings and allowed

  Speaker 1: wasn't there. So they sweeped the Guardians. I've watched the

  Speaker 1: trot of how many times the Cardinals have swept the team,

  Speaker 1: which is a good thing. They improved to a season

  Speaker 1: best nine games over five hundred Sonny Gray on Friday,

  Speaker 1: nine innings, eleven strikeout, zero earned runs, eighty nine pitches.

  Speaker 1: Like you said, one pitch away from a perfect game.

  Speaker 1: That would have ended me, Bernie. If I would have

  Speaker 1: missed a perfect game, I would have never recovered from that.

  Speaker 1: Cardinals erased their largest deficit, biggest comeback win of the season.

  Speaker 1: And then today Sunday, Matthew Lovey goes six shutty and

  Speaker 1: you're feeling really good about the offense, because if it's

  Speaker 1: not Alec Burlson, it's Nolan Gorman, it's Victor Scott leaving

  Speaker 1: the yard. We said he was trending in the right direction.

  Speaker 1: Your stats say it all. Though, one inning out of

  Speaker 1: twenty seven the Guardians scored the Cardinals just after a

  Speaker 1: really flat performance the last two games, against the Cubs,

  Speaker 1: burst onto the scene. They did it without Jordan Walker,

  Speaker 1: doesn't matter who's in the lineup right now, No Yvon Herrera,

  Speaker 1: no problems, I guess because this was pure word youre word, Bernie,

  Speaker 1: pure domination from the Cardinals, and it really puts them

  Speaker 1: in a great position ahead of six key Division games,

  Speaker 1: heading up against the Pirates and the Cubs again.

  Speaker 2: And what I liked about the sweep just the nature
• 4:48
  Speaker 2: of the sweep. And we already mentioned all the other stuff,

  Speaker 2: but I think this series personified the very best qualities
• 4:58
  Speaker 2: of the twenty twenty five Cardinals because and we already
• 5:01
  Speaker 2: covered the pitching part, because I think their rotations very underrated,
• 5:04
  Speaker 2: and I think the bullpens since late April has been very,
• 5:07
  Speaker 2: very on point, even with Helsley struggling by his standards,
• 5:11
  Speaker 2: so their run prevention run prevention has been in really
• 5:15
  Speaker 2: good shape all along. But there's two things I think
• 5:19
  Speaker 2: the Cardinals pride themselves in, you know, effort of course,
• 5:22
  Speaker 2: and never giving up, in battling back and just never
• 5:25
  Speaker 2: getting demoralized, just keep fighting. So they were able to
• 5:28
  Speaker 2: do that Saturday. That was impressive. That was really impressive.

  Speaker 2: The Guardians have a good club and they have a

  Speaker 2: good pitching staff, and for them to come back, roar
• 5:36
  Speaker 2: back after being down five to one or six to one, sorry,

  Speaker 2: that was impressive. The other thing the Cardinals always like

  Speaker 2: to say, there have been quotes in your pieces recently

  Speaker 2: and throughout the season. You know, everybody contributes. One through nine.

  Speaker 2: Everybody contributes. Everybody on this team contributes. So I just

  Speaker 2: did a really quick thing, no big deal. Twelve different

  Speaker 2: Cardinals had hits in this series. Nine different Cardinals drove

  Speaker 2: in at least a run, and six hit a home run.

  Speaker 2: And what I like about the home run thing, it's

  Speaker 2: six different guys. You know, there's no nobody hit two.

  Speaker 2: They all hit one each right now, So that that

  Speaker 2: This is a complete team. If I don't do it,
