- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up everyone, and welcome back to the Epstein Chronicles.
- 0:05Hope you're all having a great Monday out there, and
- 0:07hopefully you had a great weekend as well. Down in
- 0:12the Virgin Islands, Jeffrey Epstein's estate and the Attorney General
- 0:17of the Virgin Islands, Denise George. They have been engaged
- 0:20in this ongoing battle over finances and how the estate
- 0:27is allegedly spending the money, and there doesn't seem to
- 0:31be any quit in this fight anytime soon, as they
- 0:37continue to trade filings in court and continue to trade
- 0:41barbes in the news. So let's get into this article
- 0:45from the Virgin Islands Daily News and let's see what
- 0:50Suzanne Carlson has found out for us, headlined ag Epstein
- 0:56Co Executors still fighting over one hundred and fifty million
- 1:00dollars that's left in the estate. So the crazy part
- 1:04is that there's any money left in this estate at all.
- 1:08It should have all been dispersed to the survivors, but
- 1:12somehow the biggest winner here ends up being Uncle Sam.
- 1:17Like usual, they're gonna get their peace right, the government's
- 1:20getting their tax dollars, and there's no two ways about it.
- 1:25But the rest of the money that was left over,
- 1:28it shouldn't even be a discussion. Every last dollar should
- 1:31go to these survivors. But instead we've had Denise George
- 1:35out here for quite a while now trying to get
- 1:41money for the Virgin Islands. And for me, that would
- 1:45be a little more palpable, a bit more acceptable if
- 1:50it wasn't for government officials in the Virgin Islands facilitating
- 1:55Jeffrey Epstein's nonprofits and all the other stuff he was
- 1:58doing down there. It wasn't like he just came down there,
- 2:01showed up and you know, planted his flag and was like, look,
- 2:05I'm here, I'm gonna do whatever I want. There were
- 2:08people that were in the bureaucracy that were getting doled out,
- 2:12that were on the arm and because they were getting
- 2:16hooked up obviously Epstein had all of these beneficial you know,
- 2:21tax loopholes and the rest of it. And now for
- 2:27the Virgin Islands to think that they should get some
- 2:29of this money, I find it to be absurd. Honestly,
- 2:34every last dollar should have went to these survivors. The end.
- 2:42Virgin Island's Attorney General, Denise George continues to spar in
- 2:45court with attorneys for Jeffrey Epstein's co executors over what
- 2:50remains of the wealthy sex offender pedophiles the state. George
- 2:55is arguing that the co executors, Epstein's longtime attorneys, Richard
- 2:59Kahn and Darren and are trying to hide a state
- 3:01assets for themselves and maneuver millions through the twenty and
- 3:06thirteen Butterfly Trust. Now, the Butterfly Trust is pretty interesting
- 3:11because it was one of more than forty accounts that
- 3:14Epstein had over at Deutsche Bank, and through this Butterfly Trust,
- 3:19according to the authorities, he paid off co conspirators and
- 3:23he also paid off some of the people who were
- 3:27allegedly abused through this very trust. So it's interesting that
- 3:31they're bringing this up now. According to authorities who looked
- 3:36into Deutsche Bank and slapped them with the regulation penalties,
- 3:41they were saying that this created a risk of payments
- 3:44that could be used for Epstein to further cover up
- 3:48his crimes and in danger more women. But Deutsche Bank
- 3:53they never really cared, did they. They were in business
- 3:55with some of the worst of the worst. I mean,
- 3:58look at every oligarch around the world, the ones in
- 4:02America and elsewhere. How many of them had their money
- 4:04parked over at Deutsche Bank. There are no assets in
- 4:09the twenty thirteen Butterfly trusts that are assets of the estate,
- 4:13and accordingly, it is false to allege that the co
- 4:16executors have dissipated or concealed any estate assets, Reyes said
- 4:21in an email to the Daily News. And we all
- 4:24know that that's a bunch of bs, right. We all
- 4:27know that Epstein's attorneys here in dike Kan, they were
- 4:31a crucial part of what Epstein had going on. Jeffrey
- 4:34Epstein said it himself. So to think that these guys,
- 4:39you know, aren't moving money around or trying to play
- 4:42games is a bit of a stretch for me anyway.
- 4:47A wealthy sex offender pedophile, Epstein died by suicide allegedly
- 4:52in August twenty nineteen while awaiting trial on sex crimes.
- 4:57His estate was initially valued at over six hundred thirty
- 5:00six million dollars, but was worth one hundred and forty
- 5:04nine zero point fifty four million as of June thirtieth,
- 5:07according to the eleventh quarterly accounting of the estate filed
- 5:11and probate court on August first. So remember out of
- 5:15all that money that Epstein had that they knew about anyway,
- 5:20the survivors got roughly what one hundred and thirty million
- 5:22of it or so, So what happened to the other
- 5:26roughly four hundred million? Government got their piece, But where's
- 5:31the rest of this money? At Conn and Endeicker both
- 5:36named defendants in a lawsuit George filed against Epstein's estate
- 5:39in twenty twenty pursuant to the Criminally Influenced and Corrupt
- 5:43Organizations Act or CICCO, which claims they helped fund Epstein's
- 5:47sex trafficking with eighty million dollars in tax benefits Southern
- 5:51Trust Company received from the Virgin Islands Economic Development Commission.
- 5:56And that's crucial. Epstein didn't just pull them out of
- 5:59a hat, right, he received them from the Economic Development Commission. Now,
- 6:04what Denise George will say, and proponents of the Virgin
- 6:07Islands getting money will say, is that they did it
- 6:10on false pretenses. They came in there and they fooled
- 6:13these bureaucrats into thinking that Epstein was gonna do something
- 6:17to help the community. Blah blah blah, blah blah blah blah.
- 6:20But the reality is this all of these bureaucrats had
- 6:23their hands out, and then they took to Epstein's money
- 6:27and let him create all of these tax havens, basically,
- 6:31and they didn't get anything on the flip side for
- 6:33the community. And now when it's all been exposed, why
- 6:37should that money come out of the survivor's kitty. Why
- 6:39should that come out of their pot to fix what
- 6:41happened in the Virgin Islands breaking news The Virgin Islands
- 6:45let them down. The survivors didn't let the Virgin Islands down.
- 6:51The civil claim also includes environmental finds assessed by the
- 6:54Virgin Island Department of Planning and Natural Resources, which issued
- 6:58penalties around two point eight to three million dollars for
- 7:01illegal building projects on Epstein's private islands Little and Great
- 7:05Saint James, located off east end of Saint Thomas. So
- 7:10I can see that. Look, if you're building illegally down
- 7:13there and you're gonna get fined, that's how it goes.
- 7:16They should find them for that. But as far as
- 7:18taking money from the survivors themselves to give to the
- 7:24Virgin Islands, I don't understand how that's logical at all,
- 7:29considering that it was the Virgin Island bureaucrats who set
- 7:31this all up in the first place. A judge order
- 7:36to stay in the SECO case to facilitate mediation, but
- 7:39Chief Deputy Virgin Island Attorney General Carol Thomas Jacobs filed
- 7:43an emergency motion to lift this day on July twenty second,
- 7:47claiming Cohn and Indyke moved thirteen million out of the
- 7:51estate for their own benefit. Now we talked about that
- 7:54when it happened, and it wouldn't surprise me in the least. Now,
- 7:58I don't have all the facts, right, I'll tell you
- 8:00straight up, right up front. I don't have all the facts.
- 8:03But it fits in with the way Indike and Khan
- 8:06have been going about their lives ever since they've been
- 8:09in the employee of Jeffrey Epstein. You mean to tell
- 8:11me two people who are that close to Epstein have
- 8:14no idea what happened, have no idea what went down?
- 8:18Give me a break. The filing called for discovery to
- 8:26begin and mention the twenty thirteen Butterfly Trust, implying it
- 8:30is essentially a way for executors to transfer money into
- 8:34their personal accounts. Raya slammed the claims as demonstrably false
- 8:39and Indyke's attorney, Christopher Kroblin, wrote in an eighteen page
- 8:43response that the Attorney General's Office filed illegally, meritless, factually misleading,
- 8:49and inflammato inflammatory motion to take discovery of co executors
- 8:54Darren Endyke and Richard Kahan. Can someone answer this question
- 9:00for me? How is it that the only Attorney General
- 9:03in the whole country that's looking at Endyke and con Well,
- 9:06at least that we know of, is down here in
- 9:08the Virgin Islands. You mean to tell me these two
- 9:11dudes didn't commit any crimes in New York. I know
- 9:14the SDN why is very busy right now in all
- 9:16but you know they might want to take a look
- 9:18at some of Epstein's co conspirators. The response called for
- 9:24sanctions against the government, and Thomas Jacobs filed on eleven
- 9:28page response on Thursday, saying that there was a surprisingly
- 9:31abrupt end to the mediation, which was the sole purpose
- 9:35for this stay, so the government moved to lift it.
- 9:38The Epstein estates meritless claims for sanctions for doing so
- 9:42is absurd, Thomas Jacobs wrote, so basically, Thomas Jacobs, Carol
- 9:46Thomas Jacobs is telling the court that the estate here
- 9:53is just being absolutely absurd with their requests. The government
- 10:00has placed criminal activity leans on the estate as a
- 10:03matter of statutory right and out of concerns over the
- 10:06administration of what are and should be Epstein's estate, property
- 10:10or funds. She wrote, the government's concerns are well founded
- 10:14because defendants have refused to provide documentation of trust related
- 10:19to Jeffrey Epstein, while substantial evidence shows that con and
- 10:23Indyke were both deeply involved in Epstein's financial activities. According
- 10:28to Thomas Jacobs, well yeah, obviously, Look, if you're the
- 10:32in house lawyer and you're the in house accountant for
- 10:35a dude like Epstein, chances are you know about where
- 10:38all the secrets are, you know about all of the
- 10:40financial deals. And again I ask you, how is it
- 10:44that r. Kelly and Keith Rainiery both get slapped with
- 10:48RICO charges but Gallaine Maxwell does not. What are they
- 10:52so worried about uncovering? Here? Conn and Indyke failed to
- 10:58disclose millions of dots and loans made by Epstein to them,
- 11:02which should be reflected and collected as assets of the estate.
- 11:05According to Thomas Jacobs and our beneficiaries of Epstein's Epstein
- 11:10created trust that in the year after Epstein's death received
- 11:14over thirteen million dollars that was then transferred not to
- 11:17the Epstein estate but to separate trust created for the
- 11:21benefit of defendants in Dike and Khan, their spouses and others,
- 11:25with recognition that these funds were being insulated from the
- 11:29beneficiaries of the claimants against the estate. So the same old,
- 11:33same old, right, If you have a couple of bucks,
- 11:36you have a couple of decent lawyers, you can find
- 11:38a way to hide your money, but the rest of
- 11:40us now will. If you transfer more than six hundred
- 11:43bucks digitally, you are now on the radar. Folks, must
- 11:47be nice to be one of these rich criminals comebacks
- 11:49where there's never any penalties for being a dirt back.
- 11:53Better pay your taxes though, and to the very penny nowadays.
- 12:00Despite the co Executor's statements that the allegations and evidence
- 12:03are misleading and inflammatory, she added that they notably do
- 12:08not rebut the truth of the government's compelling allegations. Instead,
- 12:12they turn their fire to making baseless procedural arguments seemingly
- 12:17designed to distract from the evidence of wrongdoing and their
- 12:20deliberate refusal to provide the government with any discovery from
- 12:24the inception of this case. So again, why are you
- 12:27guys messing around with the Sicco case here? Why not
- 12:30just hit them with a criminally liable Rico case. What
- 12:34is everybody so scared of? You know what's funny. The
- 12:38government loves to throw Rico around. They sure love to
- 12:41throw it around. If you're engaging in illegal gambling or
- 12:45maybe you're selling some pot out of your mom's house, yeah,
- 12:48then it's Rico's city. But if you're Glenn Maxwell, you're
- 12:53Darren Indyke, you're Richard Kahan, and you know where the
- 12:56bodies are buried, and you might embarrass the government a
- 12:59little bit. Yeah, we're gonna avoid that Rico folks at
- 13:02all costs. Reya said that parties held a brief conference
- 13:06before Superior Court Judge Harold WILLOCKX on Friday. The court
- 13:11did not rule on the government's motion, notwithstanding the government's
- 13:15claim that the need for discovery was an emergency, and
- 13:19instead combined argument on the motion with the argument on
- 13:22the estate's motion to vacate the government's lean, scheduled for
- 13:26October fourth. Therefore, this stay remains in effect, according to Raya.
- 13:31According to the Co Executors filing on August first, the
- 13:34government continues to make the well worn, yet demonstrably false
- 13:39allegations that the co Executors are improperly dissipating as state assets.
- 13:44The government does not does so fully aware of the
- 13:47actual effects, but with the intention of generating fantastical headlines
- 13:53that it perceives will offer some tactical yet unfair advantage
- 13:57in this lawsuit. Well, when you can't win on the
- 14:01merits of your argument, you got to rely on loopholes
- 14:04and technicalities, right, And it's been a tried and true
- 14:07strategy for the Epstein criminal organization for this whole entire run.
- 14:11Might as well keep it up. The government said in
- 14:18a previous filing that the estate's value has plummeted over
- 14:22seventy five percent in two years. The bulk of the
- 14:25estate's remaining assets are nearly one hundred and twenty million
- 14:28in legal entities Epstein owned, and there is nearly twenty
- 14:32two million in cash on hand. For the period of
- 14:35April first to June thirtieth of this year, the estate
- 14:38paid eight point four million in settlement of survivor claims
- 14:43outside the Epstein Victims Compensation Fund according to the most
- 14:47recent probate account filings. So there are hundreds, literally hundreds
- 14:53of cases pending, and a lot of these girls, at
- 14:55least a handful of them anyway, decided not to use
- 14:58the compensation fund. So there are all of those lawsuits
- 15:02pending as well. And as we see here, eight point
- 15:05four million in settlements to survivors have been paid through
- 15:09the period of April first to June thirtieth of this year,
- 15:13according to the numbers that we're getting here. Putting aside
- 15:17that the estate has been in operation for close to
- 15:20three years, the government chooses to ignore that the reduction
- 15:23in the estate's value is not only expected in common
- 15:27but necessary to comply with the law in the form
- 15:30of over one hundred and eighty million in various taxes
- 15:33in multiple jurisdictions, and to compensate those who claim mister
- 15:37Epstein sexually abused them those who claim, huh, how about
- 15:41those who were sexually abused by Jeffrey Epstein. Don't play
- 15:44games with your words here, mister Kroblin. The estate has
- 15:48already taken liability and accepted liability for this abuse don't
- 15:53stay alleged in the form of over one hundred and
- 15:57fifty million paid to claimants through the u Epstein Victims
- 16:01Compensation Fund or other settlements, Kroblin wrote. Further, Croblin wrote,
- 16:07all other reductions in value are a result of either
- 16:11expenditures inspected by the Special Master in Ernst and Young
- 16:15and reviewed and approved by the Attorney General, or changes
- 16:19in property values based upon date of death independent real
- 16:23estate appraisals as compared to initial evaluations done on a
- 16:27cost basis as reflected in the estate's quarterly accountings. So
- 16:32it's more of the same. You have the estate saying
- 16:35one thing, and then you have the Attorney General's Office
- 16:38of the Virgin Island saying something completely different. So I say,
- 16:42to hell with all of it, and let's see a real,
- 16:44full on reco case here, not a seak O case,
- 16:47and let's really get to the bottom of this once
