- 0:03Speaker 1: the North Florida sport, the North Florida sport, the North Florida sports network.
- 0:08Speaker 1: All right Day after FSU North Alabama man Jordan Travis out for the year tragic Leg and dream in.
- 0:24Speaker 1: I know, yeah, sad, it's real sad, feel it in the stadium.
- 0:34Speaker 2: Yeah, it was a.
- 0:34Speaker 2: It was shocking man.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Yeah, everybody pretty much sat there quiet, yeah, stunned in silence.
- 0:44Speaker 1: Right it was.
- 0:45Speaker 1: It was freaking and you knew it right away.
- 0:47Speaker 1: I think he did.
- 0:48Speaker 1: You know, he probably saw it.
- 0:51Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I think, for me personally, his reaction, instead of just, you know, getting up and you saw him slamming his hand on the ground, I think that's what.
- 1:02Speaker 2: And then they showed it on the big jumbo tron.
- 1:06Speaker 2: They showed one replay of it.
- 1:07Speaker 2: You saw that foot dangling there and that was that's it, yeah.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Everybody knew.
- 1:12Speaker 2: No, you talk about grown grown men kind of tearing up there.
- 1:16Speaker 2: Yeah, behind me man, it was a lot of people.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Yeah, it was a jolt.
- 1:20Speaker 1: I mean, it was the.
- 1:21Speaker 1: It was a culmination pretty much of his career.
- 1:24Speaker 1: It was his last game, the game probably he didn't even really need to play in.
- 1:29Speaker 1: No, he didn't.
- 1:30Speaker 1: They were down 13 to zero.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Yeah, You're not going to keep him off the field.
- 1:34Speaker 2: No, you know, nobody.
- 1:35Speaker 2: Nobody expects him to not dress for that game and play his final home game.
- 1:40Speaker 2: I mean, that's you know.
- 1:42Speaker 2: It's football, Right.
- 1:43Speaker 2: It's just the worst thing that could you possibly happen for the kid and happened.
- 1:48Speaker 2: It sucks.
- 1:49Speaker 2: I think the reaction from the crowd at Doke really indicative of just how much the fan base has grown to love this kid as the leader of the team.
- 2:03Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree.
- 2:04Speaker 1: You know if it's really turned this program around.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:08Speaker 1: It's been the face of it.
- 2:09Speaker 2: And you say you know, we've had other guys that have been here for, you know, three, four years and been the quarterback most of that time, but nobody's really gone through the adversity and you know the peaks and valleys that that Travis has at least not in the modern no, not in the first state, and you just feel for a kid that does everything right, has gotten better since day one he was here and, yeah, you hate to see him get carted off on his last game.
- 2:37Speaker 1: It just breaks your heart.
- 2:39Speaker 2: And then you start thinking about it.
- 2:40Speaker 2: It's just, you know, his last game, they're down.
- 2:42Speaker 2: It didn't even get to put a touchdown on the board like he's done for for so many games in a row.
- 2:50Speaker 2: It just yeah, it sucks, yep.
- 2:53Speaker 2: There's no other way to put it.
- 2:55Speaker 1: The team was emotional.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Trey Benson was in tears.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Yeah, there was a lot of guys that that were in tears.
- 3:00Speaker 2: That were just you could I mean visibly, even even up there in the stands you could see, visibly shaken by what they had just seen.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Yeah, fortunate that it was against North Alabama and the outcome of the game wasn't affected by it.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Well, after that, Florida State finally woke up after being shut out in the first quarter 13-0, they went out and it was 58-0 in the rest of the game, and I know that's against an inferior opponent, but you were struggling with them.
- 3:31Speaker 2: The team responded nicely.
- 3:32Speaker 2: And another unfortunate thing is, at least with this last part of the season, the last half of the season, the team has kind of needed something to wake them up in the game.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:46Speaker 2: And unfortunate.
- 3:47Speaker 2: Like I said for this game, it was the injury.
- 3:50Speaker 2: But, yeah, they woke up.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Right the focus North Alabama.
- 3:56Speaker 2: They hit some really good trick plays, yeah, and I mean they had a lot of them in their bag.
- 4:01Speaker 2: That they were coming into the weekend with the fake punt was beautiful.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Wish it wouldn't have happened against your favorite team, but it's you can't really I mean it was great.
- 4:13Speaker 1: It was a great call Not to think about anything right now.
- 4:16Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:17Speaker 1: And when, in terms of the game, because your high has been hopeful the senior leader, the reason that you're in this position.
- 4:25Speaker 1: He's now out.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:28Speaker 1: The AP poll has got FSU at five, as we looked this morning.
- 4:32Speaker 1: That's to be expected.
- 4:35Speaker 1: I would expect the same thing Tuesday night.
- 4:38Speaker 2: Right, I think you know yeah.
- 4:42Speaker 1: But I don't think that's gonna matter, and I think I don't either.
- 4:45Speaker 1: I don't either.
- 4:45Speaker 1: They're still gonna make it.
- 4:47Speaker 2: I think if Florida State wins out, I really think it's gonna be hard for them to keep them out.
- 4:53Speaker 1: But Well, you have to put in the.
- 4:54Speaker 1: I mean, you can't, you can't put in.
- 4:58Speaker 1: You gotta reward a team that goes undefeated, and then they're gonna have tough games after this.
- 5:03Speaker 1: So they'll have a chance to see what kind of team they'll be after Travis is gone now.
- 5:08Speaker 1: If they go out and lose, then yeah, you're right.
- 5:10Speaker 1: But if they go out and win, If you go undefeated, you know unless?
- 5:14Speaker 2: Louisville just gets blown out by Kentucky, you're gonna be playing a ranked Louisville team in the ACC title game.
- 5:20Speaker 2: You know, if they beat Kentucky, they're gonna be in the top 10.
- 5:23Speaker 1: Right, so, yeah, you know, florida State just wins out, I mean the quarterback's coming into a loaded offense.
- 5:29Speaker 1: He just got everybody else steps up and has to show that this team can be just as good as it was.
- 5:39Speaker 2: Right, there's gonna be a lot less ability of extending plays on the offensive side, so I think they're going to have to call games a little bit differently, right?
- 5:51Speaker 2: Some of those routes that they call and they kind of count on Travis to keep the play alive long enough for those slow developing routes, I think they're going to have to start doing just one or two read with with eight.
- 6:03Speaker 2: He's not going to be able to sit back there, extend plays, like Travis came in and but he could sling it.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Yeah, he's got a good arm.
- 6:11Speaker 1: He's got some mobility as well.
- 6:14Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 6:15Speaker 2: And mobility and escape ability different thing.
- 6:17Speaker 2: I mean he can.
- 6:18Speaker 2: He can move fine.
- 6:19Speaker 2: You know he's not afraid to run it on the read option.
- 6:23Speaker 2: It's just going to really be about keeping him upright so he can throw it down for you.
- 6:31Speaker 1: He was.
- 6:31Speaker 1: He finished the game 13 or 23, 217 yards.
- 6:35Speaker 1: Some really nice throws in that game, other plays, it's just what was so efficient and good about Jordan Travis this year is the way he didn't turn the ball over.
- 6:46Speaker 2: Right.
- 6:47Speaker 1: And that was the reason that FSU has has been on this way.
- 6:51Speaker 1: It's so last year, when it started, after the three losses, you saw him cut the cut, cut the turnovers pretty much out, and since that and that's been his game and that's the first thing you know that you want, that you think about with Rosenhoza.
- 7:07Speaker 2: Yeah, and I think it's not unlikely to expect him to throw a few interceptions in the next couple games, but he's going to be, you know, his first true test, if you can just keep them from happening at crucial times.
- 7:25Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Because I don't you know, it's hard to imagine this team being able to overcome the kind of stuff they were able to overcome with Jordan Travis back there, but doing it with Rodney.
- 7:37Speaker 1: And playing the clip man.
- 7:39Speaker 1: I didn't mean it literally like in the first half a minute, like in the second quarter, after Jordan Travis has a few touchdowns.
- 7:46Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, rosenbagger, warm up, you're going in.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Well, you know, X man up, you know you got to.
- 7:58Speaker 1: You got to win for Jordan Travis Right and, like you said, I think you're stepping into an offense where you have weapons Right and you know, still got Keon out there.
- 8:09Speaker 2: Johnny Wilson, not a hundred percent, but he's going to not be a hundred percent for the rest of the season.
- 8:14Speaker 2: It is what it is yeah.
- 8:16Speaker 1: If he's out there, though, that's a big target to have.
- 8:20Speaker 2: You know, some high school old high school teammate and Jaheem Bell for Rodney Maker yeah, they're both out of Val Dosta, you know.
- 8:27Speaker 2: So I, you know I don't think that the guys are going to be, you know, shaking or have any less confidence that the ball is going to get to him, but you know everybody's going to have to step up a little bit more, step up a little bit more and kind of pick up that leadership.
- 8:41Speaker 1: Yeah, and I think this team has leaders in place to do it.
- 8:46Speaker 1: But, man, you lost the heart.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Yeah, but it's the head of the snake has been injured, but he's still he's going to be with him and you saw the amount of comments from the his teammates after the game, on both sides of the ball.
- 8:58Speaker 2: I mean as many defensive players, you know rallying up, giving it, you know having his back, telling them they love them.
- 9:05Speaker 2: I mean this whole team is going to step up to try to, you know, just win this last couple for you.
- 9:11Speaker 2: You got to do it for him.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I mean I can't imagine how like it's going to.
- 9:16Speaker 1: It's definitely going to inspire them more because of what he's meant, to the program, you know the, because of what they fought through together.
- 9:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:25Speaker 1: You know, he, he's seen it.
- 9:26Speaker 1: You know, at the at the worst part of this program question and get it to where it is now undefeated, with a chance to make it to the playoff and then to get that taken away from you on a All right, the guys, the guys in the locker room, see it when they watch.
- 9:43Speaker 2: it's a hip kind of tackle man.
- 9:45Speaker 1: Yeah, the hip drop tackle the hip, drop tackle.
- 9:47Speaker 1: Apparently that's the same one that the tight end for the Ravens.
- 9:50Speaker 1: That's got to be there too, and there's.
- 9:52Speaker 2: There's, you know, some debate about whether they're going to try to outlaw it in the NFL or make it a penalty.
- 9:57Speaker 2: But the real consensus is that it's really hard to police I mean guys are moving so fast.
- 10:02Speaker 1: Exactly, he's got to stop somebody, right it just one of the Right Right.
- 10:03Speaker 2: Right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, eventually it's sucking parts of football.
- 10:08Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a contact sport, it's just.
- 10:11Speaker 1: It was a freak injury and it's just sad.
- 10:13Speaker 1: Jordan Travis, though, we remembered.
- 10:17Speaker 2: Yeah, in all time.
- 10:18Speaker 2: Oh, dude, yeah, he's gonna have his, you know.
- 10:22Speaker 1: Now you have.
- 10:22Speaker 1: If Jordan Travis would have played, if anything bad happens, you have that.
- 10:28Speaker 2: You better believe I'm gonna be wearing that out.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Oh, any excuse.
- 10:32Speaker 2: Any loss we have from this point out, no matter who is the national title, I'm gonna bark in their face.
- 10:37Speaker 2: They've.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Whatever.
- 10:38Speaker 2: We would smoke you guys with.
- 10:39Speaker 1: Travis, whether it's true or not, I think Trey Benson's gonna have to step up big time.
- 10:46Speaker 1: He needs to be, and that's catching the ball and running the ball.
- 10:50Speaker 2: Yeah, I think this is your star on all.
- 10:52Speaker 2: If there is any kind of silver lining in this, which they're really probably, I mean you hate to call it leadership.
- 10:59Speaker 2: Yeah, on the team he is it now kind of forces you to not be able to rely on just one player anymore, and I think they Definitely, early in games I think they do that this year with Jordan Travis they kind of just expect him to make plays.
- 11:14Speaker 2: You know, as soon as he trots out there, call the game a little differently in the second and third quarters, once they settle in.
- 11:21Speaker 2: I think you got to start right him right away.
- 11:23Speaker 2: Right, I gotta come in with that game playing scripted.
- 11:25Speaker 2: I you know it's.
- 11:28Speaker 1: Well, it's gonna.
- 11:29Speaker 1: People are gonna be watching, you know, and it says in the bylaws of the committee, but that you do take into effect who's playing or who's not going to be able to play and and who's coaching.
- 11:41Speaker 1: We saw a few years ago when Brian Kelly.
- 11:42Speaker 1: Yeah left was going to LSU.
- 11:45Speaker 1: That affected their way.
- 11:46Speaker 1: They looked at Notre Dame, so right right Um, that raises a couple questions.
- 11:51Speaker 2: You have time though.
- 11:52Speaker 1: You have to, I I mean, I don't care what anybody.
- 11:55Speaker 1: This is like the Clemson game.
- 11:56Speaker 1: You know it's the wreck.
- 11:57Speaker 1: The record is not gonna show People how tough this game coming up is, and now Florida, though.
- 12:03Speaker 1: They're they're reeling that Graham Mertz broke his collarbone in the second half of the game at Missouri.
- 12:09Speaker 2: Yeah, that's pretty amazing.
- 12:10Speaker 2: It's pretty amazing that that that happens to the two schools.
- 12:15Speaker 1: It is right before both, both guys having good years.
- 12:18Speaker 1: Grand Mercer's was doing.
- 12:19Speaker 1: Phenomenal yeah he was, he was having a Arguably.
- 12:21Speaker 2: I mean, he's not the best because Jaden Daniels is the best quarterback in the country and he's also in the SEC.
- 12:27Speaker 1: He's been really efficient.
- 12:28Speaker 2: Yeah, and he has been.
- 12:30Speaker 2: From really a solid performer for them.
- 12:33Speaker 2: Yeah, oh yeah, from what I, the little bit I saw of Max Brown, the back of it got in His legs are gonna be what's gonna give.
- 12:42Speaker 2: So it fits, yeah, you think back to the Boston College game, hmm.
- 12:48Speaker 2: So have you learned anything about that?
- 12:51Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:52Speaker 2: Because that's just.
- 12:52Speaker 2: That's a really good comparison in terms of, you know, offensive line and quarterback.
- 12:56Speaker 2: Florida's got better skill players.
- 12:58Speaker 2: Yeah, they got a better running back.
- 13:00Speaker 2: Yep, they got better wide receivers.
- 13:02Speaker 2: I Don't know that they have the defense, even right sheta, but that's, that's what.
- 13:07Speaker 2: But you just lost.
- 13:08Speaker 1: Yeah, wild card thrown in there, man.
- 13:10Speaker 1: You saw what Jordan Travis did in this game last year.
- 13:13Speaker 1: Yeah, who.
- 13:14Speaker 2: Danny acts, he pulled off, yeah and that, yeah, oh my god, if they still had the defense in front and personnel that they had last year in this game.
- 13:22Speaker 2: I yeah.
- 13:24Speaker 2: I don't think we would really have much of a chance.
- 13:26Speaker 2: You know, the fortunate thing for Florida State is they've had to really Commit to blitz.
- 13:32Speaker 2: Florida's had to commit to blitzing and bringing a lot just to get pressure on the quarterback.
- 13:36Speaker 2: But it's dude.
- 13:38Speaker 2: It's.
- 13:38Speaker 2: Now is the time for the offensive line to play their best football.
- 13:42Speaker 1: Yeah, of their lives Right.
- 13:44Speaker 2: And speaking of the offensive line, yeah, I saw Mo Smith go down.
- 13:48Speaker 2: I mean he's been banged up all season Just just gutting it out.
- 13:51Speaker 2: Washington's very versatile though.
- 13:54Speaker 1: Yeah, slide in, and he's improved.
- 13:56Speaker 2: You know, that's something that he's had to do throughout his career is filling its spot duty, and when he first started doing it, he was horrible.
- 14:03Speaker 1: Yeah, the snaz were really huge.
- 14:04Speaker 1: You took yeah, guys who handle the ball on offense every play, every play and replace and you now have a new quarter that is huge.
- 14:13Speaker 1: That is huge.
- 14:14Speaker 1: Now We'll see.
- 14:16Speaker 2: You know, they have capable players that are gonna fill their shoes, and everyone else around them needs to Just step up there right, then there's no expectation of any any drop-off within the program in terms of knowing your responsibilities, assignments, expecting to go in there and you know, operate Well, be successful.
- 14:37Speaker 1: Yeah, it's reminiscent what was it 1998?
- 14:42Speaker 2: yeah, winky going down.
- 14:42Speaker 1: He went out and later in the season Rooster.
- 14:46Speaker 2: I would be man even as good as Keon has been.
- 14:49Speaker 2: I would feel a lot better if we had Peter work on this team.
- 14:52Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 14:54Speaker 2: That everybody talks.
- 14:57Speaker 2: Well, you know, we beat him without winky.
- 14:59Speaker 1: Well, that you might be able to use him and use these some of these skill players more with simplified roles.
- 15:05Speaker 1: Maybe get them ball early, little screen pass, but you, you got to get hit.
- 15:09Speaker 1: I think you're gonna see them.
- 15:10Speaker 2: They're gonna have to get a little more creative than they've have been All season.
- 15:15Speaker 2: You know they're gonna have to no longer go out there and expect that.
- 15:18Speaker 2: You know.
- 15:18Speaker 2: All right, jordan's gonna be able to make the right read, no matter what.
- 15:21Speaker 2: He'll find somebody open.
- 15:22Speaker 2: You're gonna have to start scheming to where, like we read one and read two are gonna be there, you know so, and the running game is gonna have to start start hitting Early and often.
- 15:32Speaker 2: But man yeah just.
- 15:37Speaker 2: You know we don't have a toolbox like, say, we have a tool shed of skiing.
- 15:40Speaker 1: There it is, austin arm strong, the Gator defensive coordinator talking about.
- 15:50Speaker 2: Creeper gets thrown around quite a bit.
- 15:52Speaker 2: Now is he talking about his defense or what people say about him?
- 15:55Speaker 2: Concepts you know we do some other stuff.
- 15:58Speaker 2: I guess really really high, highly strong.
- 16:00Speaker 2: You know not many people are like us that are multiple, multiple, multiple, yeah Well.
- 16:10Speaker 2: But the thing is like do you do one?
- 16:13Speaker 2: Are you good at one thing?
- 16:15Speaker 2: Yeah, Right?
- 16:17Speaker 1: the answer for them is no, right.
- 16:19Speaker 1: So I mean, Florida State Is gonna have to score the ball a little bit in this game.
- 16:24Speaker 1: Yeah, you would think yeah this, this team last year was the biggest, the most points in the rivalries, history, right and this team that they're playing.
- 16:34Speaker 2: You know this Florida team is coming in.
- 16:37Speaker 1: They have to have it.
- 16:38Speaker 2: This is it.
- 16:39Speaker 2: Yeah, this is Billy's life.
- 16:40Speaker 1: Yeah, this is, oh, my goodness Head coach and and.
- 16:44Speaker 1: I mean they put up a good fight at Missouri.
- 16:46Speaker 2: They doesn't matter.
- 16:47Speaker 2: Nobody won the game as an FSU fan.
- 16:49Speaker 2: I should have hoping that Florida won man.
- 16:53Speaker 1: I really was too.
- 16:54Speaker 2: I was hoping that Florida would give me something, something extra to play for, you know honestly, it doesn't matter.
- 17:02Speaker 1: Florida lost to Missouri 33 31, so they'll have to have it and it's the way I've been.
- 17:09Speaker 2: Six, it's the way they lost where nobody's.
- 17:11Speaker 2: I mean, they wouldn't care that they almost beat him anyway, but it's.
- 17:14Speaker 2: You had the game, one had him fourth and 17.
- 17:17Speaker 2: Oh, and you gave it to them.
- 17:19Speaker 2: They got like 30 yards, mmm, mmm.
- 17:23Speaker 1: I don't yeah.
- 17:24Speaker 1: So it's gonna mean Florida stay without their leader in the swamp With a desperate Gator team desperate Gator team, desperate Gator coach, I would expect, and base will be hungry.
- 17:38Speaker 2: Yeah, I would expect to be a lot of weird, weird stuff from their offense.
- 17:41Speaker 1: They don't deserve it to be a night game, but yeah, it's gonna be in prime time.
- 17:46Speaker 1: It's gonna be pretty ridiculous packed house in the swamp and it's gonna be a Huge test for the seminals, regardless of Florida's record, I think well, we're another rivalry.
- 17:58Speaker 2: Finally, this is.
- 17:58Speaker 2: This is the biggest test of the season.
- 18:00Speaker 2: Yeah, you've been asking like all season.
- 18:02Speaker 2: It's been like when is this?
- 18:03Speaker 2: You know this seems like a big game and now Clemson's lost four games.
- 18:06Speaker 2: This seems like you know my name is dumpster fire.
- 18:09Speaker 2: Well, now it comes in the way of adversity with right program exactly, yep.
- 18:15Speaker 1: Here's the test.
- 18:16Speaker 1: This is the test of where you're at.
- 18:18Speaker 1: You just lost the leader, you know, but I believe that what he's instilled in this team, that is, jordan Travis, is gonna show Through his teammates.
- 18:29Speaker 2: Yeah, and I it's, it's gonna.
- 18:31Speaker 1: It's what you hope for.
- 18:32Speaker 2: Yeah, it's gonna tell us a lot about what we have Going forward right gonna need to do in the offseason.
- 18:37Speaker 1: Are they?
- 18:38Speaker 2: gonna need to be a Little bit aggressive with a quarterback possibly in the sea but I man just give him time.
- 18:46Speaker 1: I really think they can make some place quarterback.
- 18:48Speaker 1: Now yeah, brock Lynn, Brock Lynn, he got in, he looked, he looked good.
- 18:53Speaker 2: He looked good he's.
- 18:54Speaker 2: He's got some quicks man.
- 18:55Speaker 2: He does some lateral quickness, some quick.
- 18:58Speaker 1: I'd like what I've seen in terms of his confidence.
- 19:01Speaker 1: I like the way he carries himself.
- 19:03Speaker 1: He looks like he believes in it.
- 19:04Speaker 2: I think he just kind of took it by the reins and stepped ahead of Duffy, yeah, duffy, no, nothing bad to say about him.
- 19:12Speaker 2: I think he's probably just playing on transfer and yeah, well, that's what you're gonna have every year.
- 19:17Speaker 1: Yeah, you're gonna have some, but now I mean there's so much to, there's so much to play for.
- 19:23Speaker 1: I mean you have two games left at the swamp but I mean, and you're for your national, for your playoff, pretty much lives.
- 19:31Speaker 1: And you're in after that your conference championship team, that that.
- 19:34Speaker 1: Tate beat last year when he had to step up for Jordan Travis and don't think that don't think Louisville players are already tweeting stuff out about it, you know that's.
- 19:46Speaker 2: That's why I wouldn't shock me to see him lose the Kentucky like there.
- 19:48Speaker 2: That whole team's mind is on playing Florida State.
- 19:52Speaker 1: Yeah yeah you got Brownlee over there.
- 19:54Speaker 1: Brownlee's, he's the main one.
- 19:56Speaker 1: Yes again, yeah, he's two would just throw right at him.
- 19:58Speaker 2: I would too like make me Prove to me that you can stop it, yeah, like you couldn't last year, and we got that was on Johnny Wilson.
- 20:05Speaker 2: Yeah, line them up against a heck of a game man.
- 20:09Speaker 1: So yeah, I mean, if they win, like I said, that's you got to go to the swamp and arrive a game, with Florida having to have the game.
- 20:16Speaker 1: Yeah without your starting quarterback.
- 20:18Speaker 1: I know they're lost theirs too.
- 20:20Speaker 1: And then you got to go to Charlotte to play a top ranked Louisville team.
- 20:24Speaker 1: That's just as tough as anybody else's right, except for, I guess, beating Georgia if Alabama did that but they lost.
- 20:33Speaker 1: Well, they lost at home.
- 20:35Speaker 2: Yeah, in the season Alabama also gets to play Auburn who just got beat by New Mexico State by three touchdowns at home last night Wow.
- 20:42Speaker 1: Yeah, that's, you know, that's an early nomination.
- 20:44Speaker 1: That's a bowl, that's a bold team.
- 20:47Speaker 2: The ed is early nomination for unrealized.
- 20:49Speaker 2: That's that's a six-win bold team in the SEC.
- 20:52Speaker 2: Everybody talks about the SEC in this great deep Conferencing.
- 20:57Speaker 1: Auburn was showing yeah, oh, they were showing promise.
- 21:01Speaker 2: And then Jerry kill came in there and just absolutely that's insane.
- 21:05Speaker 1: Yeah, they talk about looking forward, looking ahead.
- 21:07Speaker 1: And you know it's College football.
- 21:10Speaker 2: There's more parody than ever, as parody and it the psychological aspect is Way bigger than fans realize.
- 21:17Speaker 2: Yeah and and kids these age playing football.
- 21:20Speaker 2: Yep, it's honestly.
- 21:23Speaker 2: It's a lot easier to see that when you're up in the press box and watching the whole Scope of it and kids just making you know who's got that sudden reaction and who doesn't.
- 21:32Speaker 2: But Dude, I just man.
- 21:36Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like you said.
- 21:38Speaker 2: I don't think there is gonna be a bigger test for a top team right now.
- 21:41Speaker 2: Mm-hmm, top 10 these next two weeks.
- 21:43Speaker 1: Well, yeah, and if you look at it, you have.
- 21:45Speaker 1: You have Georgia.
- 21:47Speaker 2: They have to play Alabama yeah, that's it gonna be a Georgia Tech.
- 21:52Speaker 2: Georgia Tech is an arrival no that's it, you have.
- 21:55Speaker 1: Michigan, in Ohio State.
- 21:57Speaker 2: That's their game.
- 21:57Speaker 2: That's gonna eliminate one of them, the winner of that gets to play.
- 22:01Speaker 2: I.
- 22:02Speaker 1: Washington had a huge win.
- 22:03Speaker 1: Yeah to go, and I did not see them win a minute.
- 22:07Speaker 1: They fought, they were able to get to the stops.
- 22:09Speaker 1: They, they needed that win and that's probably gonna bump them ahead of Florida State.
- 22:14Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean they beat me.
- 22:15Speaker 2: And what was Oregon State was like number 12, top 12.
- 22:18Speaker 1: Yeah, they're a top team.
- 22:19Speaker 1: So yeah, on the road.
- 22:20Speaker 1: And that may have happened anyway but even if Jordan Travis didn't get hurt this week, yeah, exactly no, I believe that would have happened if they didn't get hurt because they were, but I still don't think it matters.
- 22:32Speaker 1: If you went out, you're gonna go.
- 22:33Speaker 1: Right you can't, you can't.
- 22:37Speaker 2: You know, like you can't tell an undefeated team that, like the guy that just beat your rival and beat Louisville and the ACC Championship game, isn't good enough to be your quarterback in the college football playoffs.
- 22:48Speaker 1: That's essentially what they'd be saying, exactly you win and you're in Right now people are just going to say something to get, because that's the hot thing to say, it technically makes sense.
- 23:00Speaker 1: But, like you just said, you have two games, two of your tougher games, on your schedule.
- 23:06Speaker 1: If you can go in with your backup, or who's now your starter, and win those games, that shows you how strong the team is that shows team instead of just one player winning it for everybody.
- 23:18Speaker 2: So and that's kind of the criticism has been, you know, Florida State without Jordan Travis they'd be a three or four loss team.
- 23:24Speaker 2: It's like, well, we'll see, yeah, we will see yeah.
- 23:30Speaker 1: The BAMU with the big win in the classic, here we go, have the SWAC championship coming up.
- 23:36Speaker 2: They finished that.
- 23:36Speaker 2: What is it?
- 23:37Speaker 2: The 12 and one?
- 23:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:39Speaker 1: Got it rolling.
- 23:40Speaker 1: Big time recruits showing up.
- 23:42Speaker 1: What?
- 23:42Speaker 2: happened?
- 23:42Speaker 2: What happens if they actually make the top five in the FCS rankings?
- 23:47Speaker 1: Celebration man.
- 23:48Speaker 1: They're going to be powered to be that matchup, barring an upset in the SWAC championship from FAMU we asked so Florida Florida week.
- 24:02Speaker 1: So it's huge rivalry game we're going to look forward to that.
- 24:05Speaker 1: Miami came up short against Louisville and had them right at the end.
- 24:11Speaker 2: Like dude, that's, that's old Tyler Van Dyke.
- 24:13Speaker 1: The guy is playing against A&M he was slinging around a lot but wasn't to be as Louisville held on by the touch by touchdown.
- 24:21Speaker 2: That was another, just to the end.
- 24:22Speaker 2: Atrocious officiated game.
- 24:25Speaker 1: Like he was just rolling his mouth Really.
- 24:28Speaker 2: Yeah, awful, my, if I was Miami fans I did like they already don't like being in the ACC, that this kind of stuff would make me just yeah, yeah it was awful.
- 24:40Speaker 1: I mean the one that FSU Miami game was one of the worst games I've ever seen.
- 24:44Speaker 1: Right.
- 24:45Speaker 2: And they do.
- 24:45Speaker 2: Was it was, I think it was more if it wasn't the same crew it was.
- 24:49Speaker 2: You know their homies.
- 24:50Speaker 2: He's like there was some calls in that game or just made no sense.
- 24:56Speaker 1: Well, florida State 11 and 0.
- 25:00Speaker 1: We'll have one more regular season game in Gainesville.
- 25:03Speaker 1: We're going to talk about that.
- 25:04Speaker 1: The no basketball team.
- 25:06Speaker 1: They got killed in Gainesville, down 30 at the half.
- 25:10Speaker 1: Yeah, what you do.
- 25:12Speaker 2: Well, you saw the two.
- 25:13Speaker 2: You saw the two different styles.
- 25:15Speaker 1: man, it's just bad Well we got a football Monday coming up.
- 25:20Speaker 1: We're going to rack to a lot more things and talk more about this injury.
- 25:23Speaker 1: Hope Jordan Travis gets better and we'll talk to you next time right here in the North Florida Sports Network.
- 25:29Speaker 1: We had to go.
- 25:29Speaker 1: Our ride was here.
- 25:31Speaker 1: We got a shuttle.
- 25:39Speaker 2: Here's my quick.
