- 0:00Speaker 1: We do have somewhat of a big game happening in Tuscaloosa, Alabama,
- 0:03Speaker 1: presented by PrizePix. Georgia against Alabama. Talked about this game
- 0:09Speaker 1: a little bit from a couple of different angles. And
- 0:11Speaker 1: the thing that I think is so intriguing, Cole, as
- 0:14Speaker 1: you get us started, is I think I believe in
- 0:18Speaker 1: Georgia's defense more than I believe in Alabama's defense because
- 0:21Speaker 1: of what we've seen from Alabama against Kentucky. I'm sorry,
- 0:25Speaker 1: against Florida State, against other opponents. I think I believe
- 0:29Speaker 1: in Georgia's defense more, but I don't think Georgia's played
- 0:32Speaker 1: a good offense yet. And so I might believe in
- 0:34Speaker 1: their defense more, but it's very untested. It's unproven. And
- 0:38Speaker 1: I think I have really liked Keelan Russell. I don't
- 0:42Speaker 1: know how many great defenses they've gone up against. I
- 0:44Speaker 1: think this is it is such a proving grounds for
- 0:47Speaker 1: both teams because I don't think either one of them.
- 0:50Speaker 1: I know Mississippi State is in there. I don't think
- 0:52Speaker 1: either one of them have played a great team yet.
- 0:55Speaker 1: And that brings us to a lot of questions, even
- 0:57Speaker 1: in the game that we talked about, Cole and I,
- 0:59Speaker 1: yesterday on Oklahoma and Georgia. I don't know that Oklahoma's
- 1:03Speaker 1: offense provides a great look at how good Georgia really
- 1:08Speaker 1: is defensively. So just we'll find out. We'll find out
- 1:12Speaker 1: on Saturday, I suppose, is the final answer. But for
- 1:15Speaker 1: a better breakdown than just we'll find out, Cole Thompson.
- 1:18Speaker 2: I mean, it's Goliath versus Goliath. It's the Mecca versus
- 1:21Speaker 2: the Mecca. It is the standard of the SEC, and
- 1:23Speaker 2: I've said this before and I'll say it again. Until
- 1:25Speaker 2: someone can dethrone one of these two, the world stands
- 1:28Speaker 2: still in the southeastern region of the United States whenever
- 1:31Speaker 2: Georgia and Alabama meet on a football field and do
- 1:33Speaker 2: battle for three hours. It is a must-see spectacle, and
- 1:35Speaker 2: it is the game-of-the-year mentality. And I would be surprised
- 1:38Speaker 2: if we don't get that once again. You know, I've
- 1:40Speaker 2: been very adamant about where Texas is right now. Texas
- 1:43Speaker 2: has the most impressive win of the season today. by
- 1:45Speaker 2: fighting their way back against Ohio State. But at the
- 1:49Speaker 2: same time, I thought going into the year, Georgia was
- 1:51Speaker 2: better than Texas. So if Georgia wins this football game
- 1:53Speaker 2: against a surging Alabama team, or if Alabama wins this
- 1:56Speaker 2: football game against a dominant Georgia team that I still
- 1:59Speaker 2: believe in, despite the fact they're not being tested, I
- 2:01Speaker 2: think there is no shred of doubt that is the
- 2:03Speaker 2: best team in the country and the team to beat
- 2:04Speaker 2: in college football moving forward. Alabama's a wagon, Georgia's a wagon,
- 2:07Speaker 2: and now it just comes down to what happens when
- 2:09Speaker 2: an unstoppable force meets an immovable object and one of
- 2:12Speaker 2: them has to somewhat break. What breaks first? Let's talk
- 2:16Speaker 2: about Georgia just to begin the game. You want to
- 2:18Speaker 2: mention that they haven't played anybody and they haven't been tested,
- 2:21Speaker 2: which I think is very warranted. The level of their
- 2:23Speaker 2: competition that they've gone up against has not been at
- 2:25Speaker 2: the same of many other teams in the SEC, let
- 2:28Speaker 2: alone even Alabama. But it's not entirely their fault. Vanderbilt
- 2:32Speaker 2: gave them a test in the first half and then
- 2:34Speaker 2: they rattled off in the second. You talk about how
- 2:37Speaker 2: they played against Oklahoma. We all thought Oklahoma was going
- 2:39Speaker 2: to be a college football dark horse this season going
- 2:42Speaker 2: into 2026. And then Arkansas is a laughingstock of the
- 2:45Speaker 2: SEC so much so that even I think to their
- 2:48Speaker 2: standard that they didn't show on up. But it's how
- 2:50Speaker 2: they've responded in every single game. Gunner Stockton has been phenomenal.
- 2:54Speaker 2: I think Gunner Stockton right now is the least talked
- 2:57Speaker 2: about highlight, high-profile quarterback in the country. And he's been
- 3:01Speaker 2: in situations like this game before. He has shown up.
- 3:04Speaker 2: He has the experience of playing in a place like Tuscaloosa.
- 3:07Speaker 2: I mean, playing in an environment like... like Brian Denning Stadium.
- 3:10Speaker 2: He's been able to step on up in the fourth quarter,
- 3:11Speaker 2: and he was good last season. I think he's great
- 3:14Speaker 2: this season. I think he's better than what he's been
- 3:16Speaker 2: this season. They have the ability to run the football
- 3:19Speaker 2: with not just a Nate Frazier. They got Chauncey Bowens.
- 3:21Speaker 2: They got Bo Walker. Every single one of their backs
- 3:24Speaker 2: is able to make plays. Their tight end room is
- 3:26Speaker 2: still arguably the best in college football, and their defense
- 3:29Speaker 2: is better than advertised. They may not have a ton
- 3:32Speaker 2: of difference makers in terms of high profile names that
- 3:35Speaker 2: you'll see in the NFL draft like in years past
- 3:37Speaker 2: with Jordan Davis and Trayvon Walker and Jalen Carter. But
- 3:43Speaker 2: they still have talent. That front seven with Griffin and
- 3:46Speaker 2: the combination of what you got on the edge is phenomenal.
- 3:48Speaker 2: Their linebacking core, Chris Cole, knows how to play the run.
- 3:51Speaker 2: They're a top three run defense in the country. They
- 3:55Speaker 2: shut down teams and they say, if you're going to
- 3:57Speaker 2: beat us, you're going to beat us through the year.
- 3:58Speaker 2: And that's if we allow you to because we still
- 4:01Speaker 2: got damn good talent like KJ Bolden and Ellis Robinson
- 4:04Speaker 2: lurking over the top along with Khalil Barnes that can
- 4:06Speaker 2: make plays. So how does Alabama, who hasn't gone up
- 4:09Speaker 2: against a defense built like this, able to answer the
- 4:13Speaker 2: call when they face off against Georgia? Now on the
- 4:15Speaker 2: Alabama side, if I'm going to credit Georgia, I got
- 4:18Speaker 2: to credit Alabama. Alabama's a top 10 run defense in
- 4:20Speaker 2: the country. That's been their bread and butter. They've been
- 4:22Speaker 2: phenomenal in the trenches with what they got with Devin
- 4:24Speaker 2: Tompkins leading the charge. what they got coming off at
- 4:27Speaker 2: the end. Yanzi Pierre has been one of the better
- 4:29Speaker 2: pass rushers in the SEC, and he constantly is making plays.
- 4:32Speaker 2: So while we can say that Alabama will not have
- 4:35Speaker 2: gone up against a defensive line or a defensive front
- 4:38Speaker 2: seven built like Georgia, Georgia hasn't gone up against an
- 4:41Speaker 2: Alabama front seven that is ahead of schedule underneath Kane
- 4:43Speaker 2: Womack in his third season. I mean, that's just the
- 4:45Speaker 2: bottom line. And then the offense itself, who was to
- 4:48Speaker 2: say that this offense was going to be up to
- 4:50Speaker 2: par to this level this early in the season? I
- 4:53Speaker 2: think that we're all shocked in a little bit of
- 4:54Speaker 2: a way. We all complained last season about the inability
- 4:57Speaker 2: to run the football. We saw in the matchup in Athens,
- 5:01Speaker 2: a place that nobody loses. I mean, nobody beats Georgia.
- 5:05Speaker 2: The rushing attack not be efficient enough, and they still
- 5:07Speaker 2: found a way to win. And then we saw in Atlanta, well,
- 5:10Speaker 2: now we can't have negative yards, and you faced with
- 5:12Speaker 2: negative three rushing yards, and your quarterback play was underwhelming
- 5:15Speaker 2: because of a bad offensive line. So we got to
- 5:17Speaker 2: fix some things. The run game is better than advertised.
- 5:19Speaker 2: What you get with DJ Crowell, what you get.
- 5:21Speaker 1: With Treshawn Brown.
- 5:22Speaker 2: What'd you get with the revamped Daniel Hill? That offensive
- 5:27Speaker 2: line has been playing better than advertised. And they're getting
- 5:30Speaker 2: back their starting right tackle for this game, or it's expected,
- 5:33Speaker 2: there's optimism, that after missing last week against Mississippi State,
- 5:37Speaker 2: he's going to be good to go in this matchup.
- 5:38Speaker 2: So you're starting the consistent five that you need to
- 5:41Speaker 2: work with. Keelan Russell. You know, you talk about Gunnar
- 5:44Speaker 2: Stockton being probably a great quarterback, one that's undervalued because
- 5:49Speaker 2: we don't mention him enough in the prime spotlight. Guys,
- 5:52Speaker 2: Keelan Russell might be better than him. And that's a
- 5:54Speaker 2: horrifying thought that we have a young kid making his
- 5:57Speaker 2: fifth college, I mean, his sixth start. And he may
- 6:00Speaker 2: be better than a guy that's been doing this for
- 6:01Speaker 2: the last two years in an offense that's very team friendly.
- 6:05Speaker 2: And the wide receiver room is better than advertised, I think,
- 6:07Speaker 2: to certain levels of where you look at them and
- 6:09Speaker 2: ask yourself, well, what happens if you can't go to
- 6:11Speaker 2: Ryan Coleman Williams? Because that was a big question I
- 6:13Speaker 2: think many people had going into the season. Okay, well,
- 6:16Speaker 2: Rico Scott's been making plays, and Lottie Brooks has been
- 6:18Speaker 2: making plays, and you have a healthy Noah Rogers. And
- 6:21Speaker 2: let me also mention, the tight end room of Alabama
- 6:24Speaker 2: is pretty freaking good. Like, it's maybe not Georgia level,
- 6:27Speaker 2: but I could argue that there have been times you
- 6:30Speaker 2: look at a guy like Pritchett, he's been as consistent
- 6:33Speaker 2: as a guy like Lawson Lucky. So what can you
- 6:35Speaker 2: do in this game to be able to kind of
- 6:37Speaker 2: separate yourself from Alabama? Are you able to run the
- 6:40Speaker 2: football with ease to take a little bit of pressure
- 6:42Speaker 2: off of Keelan Russell early? And also, on the flip
- 6:45Speaker 2: side of the token, who's going to be that weapon
- 6:47Speaker 2: that you can trust on third down to be able
- 6:49Speaker 2: to move the sticks? Who is going to be that
- 6:51Speaker 2: guy that you can look at against Ellis Robinson or
- 6:54Speaker 2: against Khalil Barnes and say, I will be able to
- 6:56Speaker 2: target him? Maybe it's Pritchett. Maybe the tight end play
- 6:59Speaker 2: is so important in this game to be able to
- 7:01Speaker 2: game plan around because if you're just dinking and dunking
- 7:04Speaker 2: your way to success and winning with time of possession.
- 7:06Speaker 2: On the flip side for Georgia... Alabama has not been
- 7:10Speaker 2: able to stop the number one wide receiver for a team.
- 7:13Speaker 2: That's the bottom line. They just have not been able
- 7:15Speaker 2: to do it this year. Deuce Robinson went off. You
- 7:17Speaker 2: look at Anthony Evans last week.
- 7:18Speaker 1: He went off.
- 7:19Speaker 2: Look at the South Carolina game. Dijon Lee fell down
- 7:21Speaker 2: and Nick Carver was into the end zone for an
- 7:23Speaker 2: easy six. Who is that number one wide receiver? Is
- 7:26Speaker 2: it Talon Taylor? Is it Lost and Lucky? Is it
- 7:29Speaker 2: one of your other talents? Is it Williams potentially in
- 7:31Speaker 2: this game? Who is the guy that is going to
- 7:33Speaker 2: put pressure on Kane Womack that is going to allow
- 7:36Speaker 2: big explosive plays when you need to step on up?
- 7:39Speaker 2: But this game is going to be won and lost
- 7:41Speaker 2: in the trenches as it is every single year. Which
- 7:44Speaker 2: offensive line can hold a block long enough for their
- 7:47Speaker 2: run game to get going? Is it going to be
- 7:49Speaker 2: Georgia's or is it going to be Alabama's? And then
- 7:52Speaker 2: the big stat line that I don't think enough people
- 7:54Speaker 2: are talking about, but I will be the one to
- 7:55Speaker 2: continue to preach it. Quarterback rushing totals. Which quarterback finishes
- 8:00Speaker 2: with more rushing yards in this game? I think will
- 8:02Speaker 2: determine who walks away a champion because there's going to
- 8:05Speaker 2: be a bunch of plays that you will see broken
- 8:07Speaker 2: on up and you got to not panic. Step on
- 8:10Speaker 2: up to the pocket. Don't get the first down slide.
- 8:12Speaker 2: Gunnar Stockton can do it. Keelan Russell can do it.
- 8:14Speaker 2: Playing off-script actually, I think, benefits a guy like Keelan
- 8:17Speaker 2: Russell a little bit more than Gunnar Stockton. But Stockton's
- 8:20Speaker 2: been able to step on up into the pocket, not
- 8:22Speaker 2: be afraid to take a hit. More specifically, not be
- 8:24Speaker 2: afraid to throw his body on the line to get
- 8:26Speaker 2: that first down and keep momentum in favor of the Bulldogs.
- 8:29Speaker 2: So which offensive line is going to be able to
- 8:31Speaker 2: hold enough for their quarterbacks to be able to go
- 8:33Speaker 2: tuck and run and trust their legs to be able
- 8:35Speaker 2: to win? Having possessions really big in this game, I
- 8:38Speaker 2: think that one or two big turnovers could be a
- 8:40Speaker 2: deciding factor. Special teams and settling for field goals may
- 8:43Speaker 2: not be enough for you in this matchup. And I wonder,
- 8:46Speaker 2: who do you trust more if this is to be
- 8:48Speaker 2: a more high explosive game? Alabama or Georgia? Because Alabama
- 8:52Speaker 2: may have the weapons, but Georgia has the experience of
- 8:55Speaker 2: being in the situation in the past. At least with
- 8:57Speaker 2: this version of the Georgia Bulldogs.
- 8:59Speaker 1: I'll get right back to this clip of the Power
- 9:01Speaker 1: 2 here on College Football Addiction. But first, I want
- 9:03Speaker 1: to give some love to our friends over at PrizePix.
- 9:06Speaker 1: This weekend, game of the year. Alabama-Georgia vibes are high.
- 9:11Speaker 1: in Tuscaloosa and in Athens. The game will happen in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
- 9:15Speaker 1: And we are taking Keelan Russell's passing touchdowns more than 1.5.
- 9:20Speaker 1: We're also taking Gunnar Stockton's passing total more than 209.5.
- 9:24Speaker 1: I feel really good about those. You can go check
- 9:27Speaker 1: out the full episode of The Power 2 to get
- 9:30Speaker 1: everybody's picks for this weekend's Game of the Week, maybe
- 9:35Speaker 1: Game of the Year. Again, use the Price Picks app.
- 9:37Speaker 1: Code is HMA. Play $ 5. Get $ 150 in lineups instantly
- 9:41Speaker 1: if you win on the PrizePix app. Now back to
- 9:43Speaker 1: the clip. Not much else to add for that.
- 9:49Speaker 3: They'll play football this weekend. I have to round it out.
- 9:52Speaker 1: No, honestly, this is a tough one.
- 9:54Speaker 3: This is genuinely a coin flip. I think there's a
- 9:56Speaker 3: lot of Alabama fans that are feeling a lot more
- 9:59Speaker 3: confident and Alabama feels like Alabama again. That's kind of
- 10:02Speaker 3: the feeling I got coming out of the Mississippi State game.
- 10:05Speaker 3: And Georgia, yes, yet to be proven. I trust the
- 10:09Speaker 3: offensive consistency of Georgia a little bit more than I
- 10:13Speaker 3: trust Alabama's. I think I trust what Gunnar Stockton is
- 10:16Speaker 3: able to do to the tune of nearly 80% completion
- 10:18Speaker 3: percentage just last week, 75% on the year. They have
- 10:22Speaker 3: threats at every position that they're going to be able
- 10:25Speaker 3: to hurt you with in multiple ways. Good offensive line,
- 10:28Speaker 3: solid defense. I don't know if this is going to
- 10:30Speaker 3: be a knuckle-dragging defensive slugfest. I think there will be
- 10:33Speaker 3: some scoring because you have outstanding athletes on either side
- 10:36Speaker 3: of the ball. Keelan Russell, I know everybody's in love
- 10:39Speaker 3: with him, and it's funny. Every single week we are like,
- 10:41Speaker 3: this guy's going to win the Heisman, and then they
- 10:42Speaker 3: play a game and it's like, they're out. They're never
- 10:44Speaker 3: going to get back in the race, that sort of thing.
- 10:46Speaker 3: Is this a bit of a dip for Keelan Russell?
- 10:48Speaker 3: Because we've seen those games earlier on in the season
- 10:50Speaker 3: where he was finding his footing, but he was outstanding
- 10:53Speaker 3: against Mississippi State and a bad secondary. He's going to
- 10:57Speaker 3: face better competition against Georgia. I think I like Georgia
- 11:00Speaker 3: in this one, 24-22. This is going to be an
- 11:03Speaker 3: interesting game, and I think I trust what Georgia has
- 11:05Speaker 3: on the offensive line. Side of the ball, a little
- 11:07Speaker 3: bit more than I trust Alabama.
- 11:11Speaker 1: What I am intrigued here to see is Keelan Russell's
- 11:16Speaker 1: been incredible. What's the best defense he's seen so far?
- 11:24Speaker 1: FSU for three drives?
- 11:27Speaker 2: I honestly would say Mississippi State because he was sacked
- 11:29Speaker 2: four times. So you have to give credit to that
- 11:31Speaker 2: being a big factor.
- 11:32Speaker 1: In the game. And where would you rank this is
- 11:35Speaker 1: no shot at Russell or Mississippi State? Is Mississippi State
- 11:38Speaker 1: in your top half of SEC defenses?
- 11:40Speaker 2: No. Probably right on that eight or nine line. Like
- 11:43Speaker 2: you're saying fringe top half more so probably, but they're
- 11:46Speaker 2: middle of the pack for sure.
- 11:48Speaker 1: And Georgia is comfortably in everyone's top three.
- 11:51Speaker 2: Georgia's number two, if not number one.
- 11:53Speaker 1: Yeah. So like that, I am intrigued to see that
- 11:57Speaker 1: is like, and not that it can't be done, but
- 12:00Speaker 1: can this guy go out and do something ridiculous against
- 12:05Speaker 1: a defense like this. What about running the ball? Bama's
- 12:09Speaker 1: been better this year, there's no doubt. But again, who's
- 12:12Speaker 1: got the best front that they've played? We'd probably go
- 12:14Speaker 1: back to Mississippi State, right?
- 12:16Speaker 2: South Carolina, maybe, if you want to go that way.
- 12:19Speaker 1: So that's a big question for me. Can they run
- 12:21Speaker 1: as effectively as they have? Georgia's offense, I think against,
- 12:27Speaker 1: we talked about this, I think I don't remember. It
- 12:29Speaker 1: might have been you yesterday, Cole. Talked about the Georgia
- 12:34Speaker 1: offense scored 14 points unassisted on that Oklahoma defense in
- 12:42Speaker 1: the first half. One pick six and then one 11-yard drive.
- 12:46Speaker 1: And one of those touchdowns was only a 54-yard drive.
- 12:49Speaker 1: I'm not going to completely take that away from Georgia's
- 12:51Speaker 1: offense because you still had to cross midfield, but that
- 12:53Speaker 1: is a shorter field. When you're starting four yards away
- 12:56Speaker 1: from the midfield line, Georgia's offense was not blowing Oklahoma's
- 13:02Speaker 1: defense out of the water by any means and got
- 13:05Speaker 1: a lot of help from Oklahoma's offense to put more
- 13:07Speaker 1: points on the board. That's not a Georgia criticism. But again,
- 13:10Speaker 1: it goes back to my original point of like, where
- 13:12Speaker 1: have these teams been tested? And there have been tests.
- 13:16Speaker 1: I don't want to act like 5-0 for both these
- 13:18Speaker 1: teams is not 5-0 because it is. An undefeated record
- 13:22Speaker 1: is an undefeated record. They are the standard bearers in
- 13:25Speaker 1: this conference and have been for a long time. I
- 13:29Speaker 1: am interested to see how both teams respond to the
- 13:32Speaker 1: first time they really get punched in the mouth. I
- 13:34Speaker 1: guess Bama did get punched a little bit by Florida State.
- 13:37Speaker 1: I think we all were kind of waiting on that
- 13:38Speaker 1: other shoe to drop. Same thing with Kentucky. Did anyone
- 13:42Speaker 1: really think at the halftime of the Kentucky game with
- 13:45Speaker 1: the way that it had gone down, like, oh yeah,
- 13:47Speaker 1: Bama's in. Like, Kentucky's going to win this game. Like,
- 13:49Speaker 1: I think we all kind of were waiting on that
- 13:51Speaker 1: other shoe to drop. The other shoe's not going to
- 13:54Speaker 1: drop in this game. Somebody's got to go take it
- 13:55Speaker 1: off somebody's foot. I've never heard that before in my
- 13:57Speaker 1: life and don't know how that just came out of
- 13:59Speaker 1: my mouth, but it did. Yeah, you're going to have
- 14:01Speaker 1: to go take this. This is not one where it's like, ah,
- 14:03Speaker 1: Kentucky's going to run out of answers. Ah, Florida State's
- 14:05Speaker 1: going to run out of answers. Ah, Mississippi State loses
- 14:07Speaker 1: to Bothwell, and they're going to eventually crater against a
- 14:11Speaker 1: team like this. This is one that is, I mean,
- 14:15Speaker 1: it's certainly the game of the week and there are
- 14:16Speaker 1: other fun things happening too that we'll get to. But man,
- 14:20Speaker 1: the statement that one of these teams is going to
- 14:22Speaker 1: make on Saturday is so much fun to anticipate and
- 14:26Speaker 1: it's going to be so much more fun to watch.
- 14:28Speaker 1: Certainly it's not a meltdown spot for either team. We've
- 14:31Speaker 1: seen enough from these two teams to know that they're
- 14:35Speaker 1: really good and probably going to be in it until
- 14:37Speaker 1: the end. But the advantage that one of these two
- 14:40Speaker 1: teams is going to gain the win by here's a
- 14:45Speaker 1: question for you outside of, let's say Miami and Notre
- 14:49Speaker 1: Dame may. No, I don't think you can with Ohio
- 14:52Speaker 1: state yet. One of these teams, I think writes their
- 14:56Speaker 1: names into the playoff on Saturday night, like looking, looking
- 15:00Speaker 1: at there's now could disaster scenarios happen.
- 15:02Speaker 2: Yes.
- 15:03Speaker 1: But one of these teams moves to undefeated through half
- 15:05Speaker 1: the season with a top 10 win and a schedule
- 15:08Speaker 1: that I don't think either one of them is just
- 15:10Speaker 1: murderers row down the stretch. Like, How many times outside
- 15:13Speaker 1: of this game are Bama or Georgia going to be
- 15:16Speaker 1: not the favorite in the regular season? Georgia will be
- 15:19Speaker 1: the favorite every game. Bama goes to LSU?
- 15:24Speaker 2: Yeah, but even still, Alabama owns it in Baton Rouge.
- 15:27Speaker 2: So that's one where it's like, sorry, I'm not going
- 15:29Speaker 2: to bet.
- 15:29Speaker 1: Yeah, like, you might be looking.
- 15:34Speaker 3: Saturday in October, you give credit to because it's Neyland.
- 15:37Speaker 3: But they're still going to be favored.
- 15:39Speaker 1: They're still going to be favored.
- 15:41Speaker 3: But crazy things happen in that game.
- 15:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:43Speaker 1: But by Vegas odds, there might be one time that
- 15:47Speaker 1: one of these two teams is not a favorite. And
- 15:49Speaker 1: the only time I could see Vegas making someone else
- 15:51Speaker 1: a favorite is the LSU game.
- 15:53Speaker 2: Or at least Bama.
- 15:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:55Speaker 1: And it's not happening for Georgia. I think one of
- 15:58Speaker 1: these two teams is writing their name into the playoff
- 16:00Speaker 1: by winning this game on Saturday. Which is... It's not
- 16:03Speaker 1: the end of the world if somebody loses, but it's
- 16:07Speaker 1: a massive win if you can find a way to
- 16:09Speaker 1: get it done.
- 16:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that's the big takeaway is that you
- 16:12Speaker 2: now control your path throughout the SEC and become the
- 16:15Speaker 2: team to beat in college football with a win. And honestly,
- 16:18Speaker 2: for Kalen DeBoer, it's another step of just showing that while, yeah,
- 16:22Speaker 2: you don't wake up for the game against Mike Norvell
- 16:24Speaker 2: or against Brett Venables, when it's against elite coaches, you
- 16:28Speaker 2: are one of the best in the industry. You're 2-0
- 16:30Speaker 2: in the regular season against Kirby Smart. You're 3-0 all-time
- 16:33Speaker 2: against Dan Lanning. You were able to handle this against
- 16:37Speaker 2: Lincoln Riley. You shut down Steve Sarkisian. At some point,
- 16:40Speaker 2: you just got to say, I am one of the
- 16:42Speaker 2: best in the game. And even with Nick Saban gone,
- 16:46Speaker 2: the pathway of winning between these two sides comes between
- 16:49Speaker 2: Alabama and Georgia, and Alabama comes out on top. Keep
- 16:53Speaker 2: in mind, guys, Georgia has not won this game in
- 16:55Speaker 2: the regular season. And granted, it's being played more now
- 16:58Speaker 2: than ever in the past. But Georgia has not won
- 17:01Speaker 2: this game in the regular season since 2007. And that
- 17:04Speaker 2: was a back-and-forth battle. So, I mean, all I'm going
- 17:08Speaker 2: to tell you is history says to pick Alabama. The matchup,
- 17:13Speaker 2: I think, somewhat leans Alabama. It's in Tuscaloosa. It leans Alabama.
- 17:17Speaker 2: I'm not one to go against history. I think even
- 17:19Speaker 2: though the offensive line may be a question mark still
- 17:22Speaker 2: going up against a legit powerhouse known of Georgia's defensive front,
- 17:26Speaker 2: I'm a Don Keelan Russell and I'm a Don Keelan
- 17:28Speaker 2: DeBoer because history says they're going to find a way
- 17:29Speaker 2: to win this game. I take Alabama 27-24.
- 17:33Speaker 1: I've made the mistake of betting against Kirby Smart too
- 17:35Speaker 1: many times. So I'm going the other way. I have no... Gosh,
- 17:41Speaker 1: I really have no clue. This is the best game
- 17:42Speaker 1: of the weekend. This is maybe the game of the year.
- 17:44Speaker 1: I don't know. I'll go Georgia. I think I have
- 17:49Speaker 1: a little more confidence in their defense. That's probably what
- 17:52Speaker 1: I ended up leaning on and that's why I'm going
- 17:54Speaker 1: to go with them. I just... I hate making picks
- 17:57Speaker 1: on games like this because I just know I'm going
- 17:58Speaker 1: to be wrong. But we're rolling with it. Go Dawgs.
- 18:02Speaker 1: Georgia wins, what did you say, 27-24?
- 18:05Speaker 2: 27-24.
- 18:05Speaker 1: Dang it, I like that score. A little more offense, 31-28.
- 18:07Speaker 1: I said earlier, but I'll say 24-22 Georgia. They cover,
- 18:10Speaker 1: and I'm trying to think, and the under.
